We have so much to un pack for you today
as far as just kind of doing business.

Speaker 3 (01:05):
We'll give you a.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
Tour of the remake of the Big Boy Studios, even
Big Boy himself as a new location. We'll talk about
all the goodies that are available to us as we
now go forward. Here are the new numbers that you
need to learn to be part of this show. Calling
our texting here, it is eight eight eight the number six,

(01:29):
then you spell out big Box, Big Box Entertainment, our
new company for the new show, and of course my
handle on social media as well. So eight eight eight
six Big Box and that works on texting, which we
do have that option or right also works on calling

(01:50):
the show today. So we have so much to unpack.
I think we kind of start out by saying, guys,
I can't believe this is real.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
Here we are.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
Everybody have a good Christmas. Everybody's here?

Speaker 3 (02:03):
Yes, yes, so many goodies?

Speaker 1 (02:05):
Uh and uh and Adler, I know that you have
not let us share any pictures of the of the
new look of the studio. You did a tremendous job.
It looks fantastic. Are we allowed to tell people now?
You've almost been a little, uh militant about it. I
mean you you did not want this look to get

(02:27):
out until everybody could see it on YouTube. Now if
you're if you're not watching on YouTube, you can't see it.
Are we free to put it out for everybody to
see now?

Speaker 3 (02:37):
Yeah? No, nothing?

Speaker 1 (02:42):
Okay, So I have your I have your MinC check to.

Speaker 4 (02:48):
Okay. Yes, we can officially tell people to watch the
show now.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
Okay, So can we can we put a picture of
it anywhere in the studio. I know you took one,
but you didn't have the screen.

Speaker 4 (03:00):
Yeah, I mean sure, sure, yes definitely.

Speaker 1 (03:03):
But I love I love the vibe of it. I
think it looks fantastic and uh and and I'm in
that that deal now where you know we took a
three week sabbatical. Yeah, uh, and I don't even remember
how to do this.

Speaker 3 (03:16):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
You know, first of all, there's a lot of bets
out there. How many times do I say the old
show and don't and don't say the new show?

Speaker 4 (03:23):
Yeah, all right, I'm gonna do it.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
That'll that'll happen a lot. So, but we'll kind of
give you a tour because not only uh does the
Big Boys Studio have a new look. Uh, there's also
new fun and games and and I mean we we're
gonna we're gonna have a lot of fun even today.
And I we'll tell you more about that when we
come back in the next segment, but even today, uh,

(03:45):
you know, because we've been in this business for a
really long time.

Speaker 3 (03:49):
Okay, you know, Speedy, you and me.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
If you go back to the entire time we've been
in the business, it's forty years. Oh yeah, okay, forty years.
And Greg you've been in about sixteen, seventeen, sixteen, Adler,
how long you've been in it forever?

Speaker 3 (04:04):
Fifty years?

Speaker 1 (04:06):
Yeah, So we we know that anytime you've got a
new product. One thing that we know about this industry
is there are no scruples. Okay, so if we if
we can't get you any other way to support this program,
one way that we are willing is to just buy you.

Speaker 3 (04:24):
So we at least get you to hang around. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
Sure, so some may like it, some of you that
are emotionally torn. What if we just bought you. So
what's going to happen is every hour today, that's five
big ones. Okay, every hour today, there's gonna be a
chance for you to win money every single hote. Yeah,
and we'll tell you how because I think you'll enjoy

(04:47):
the road to that and everybody will participate, not just
people calling, but the text option, which is the exact
same number eight eight eight six, big box, the new
website Rick Burgess com. If you do not have the
new swag, I'm wearing one of our sweatshirts. Now we'll
talk about Not everybody was excited about the swag as

(05:10):
I was, but we'll talk about that a little bit.
So there's new swag.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
You see this right here.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
I mean you got to have you standard coffee mug,
so that that's already out there. Now what was interesting
to drink it? But well, here's what I found out
the coffee drinking. Well, when I was talking to the
new store people, and it's feed the Nations out of Memphis, Tennessee.
We've been working with them with the manschirts dot com.
So I thought, well, let's let's get put all that

(05:39):
together and work with them on the new show too. Well,
when they sent the mug, I realized you had to
be drinking with your left hand for the logo to
be out. But when I started checking mugs at my house,
probably seventy percent of them had whatever logo, either on
both sides or only on the side. Where do people
drink coffee with their life tan or do you want

(06:01):
the logo facing you?

Speaker 3 (06:02):
I think, I don't know.

Speaker 4 (06:03):
I can go both ways.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
Well that's what I heard, and that's that's been the concern.
There goes the summit right out of the gate.

Speaker 3 (06:10):
But anyway, so that's so fine, it's five minutes.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
Well, yeah, that's not bad. Well and speaking of that,
speaking of that, and Adler, you had to coach me
a little bit here. So the second weekend that we
were all off, the second weekend, we put together something
called the Rick Burgess Show Business Summit at Camp House

(06:39):
or the Camp House Business Summit, and we told our
wives that we had to get down there and start
preparing for this new adventure. And for them not to
see this as us going deer honey, but we were going.
We may not even go out. We were going down
there to prepare. So we have put together one of
our first ever. But look for more of these YouTube
reality series.

Speaker 5 (06:59):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (06:59):
And an episode one of the Camp House Business Summit
will be on our YouTube channel today, so I'll let
you know when it's there.

Speaker 6 (07:09):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (07:09):
It is, it has been produced, it is done. And
so you can go to our YouTube channel, which you
just go to rickburgesshow dot com. Uh, it's linked right there.
Easy to find our search Rick Burgess Show on YouTube
if you're not already a subscriber, uh, and you can
go watch episode one when it's there, and it will
be there today. So when it's there, I'll let you know.

(07:30):
So that that we're gonna we're gonna start providing a
lot more stuff like that, behind the scenes documentaries, mockumentaries.

Speaker 6 (07:37):
All of that.

Speaker 7 (07:38):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (07:38):
So look for there to be a tremendous fun. Now,
will we still update you on the news?

Speaker 6 (07:44):
We will?

Speaker 1 (07:45):
Uh will we just have uh, you know, some sort
of every day here's a news update.

Speaker 3 (07:51):
Probably not.

Speaker 6 (07:52):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (07:53):
We're gonna cover the big stories, of course, and there's
some today, and some of them are not not very pleasant,
but we'll hit a few of those. Uh well, when
we talk sports, we will.

Speaker 6 (08:03):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (08:03):
But but at the center of the show is going
to be uh fun. It's gonna be laughing, it's gonna
be cutting up, it's gonna hopefully be a break from
all the things out there that are not so wonderful.
So yes, we'll keep you up. Like today, we know
this winter storm thing is happening. Okay, Uh, we're, as

(08:24):
Span says, weather weenies. We're not weather weenies. But if
there's a big weather story like this winter storm, the
first one is already happening, another one is yet to come,
uh sometime this weekend. Who will that affect? Who will
it not affect? Span will update us today, so we'll
have that. So so we're gonna keep you informed. But

(08:44):
but but I guess what I'm saying is it's not
going to be so much of the show as we
felt like maybe we we have been doing in the
in the latter days of the former show. So so
we're gonna we're gonna do things that that you're gonna
find hopefully fun but definitely unpredictab And so why don't
we Why don't we go ahead, this is my first

(09:04):
time to try the boy watch boy watch that right there?
All right, So we'll we'll go to the break. When
we come back, why don't we kind of do a
little talk about the studio. We can do that again
sure a little bit later to kind of tell you
some of the the ways that you're gonna get an
opportunity to to win money today, because at the end

(09:27):
of it all, everybody would like to have some money.

Speaker 3 (09:30):
That's pretty simple, Yeah, holidays, Yes.

Speaker 2 (09:34):
Is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 3 (09:40):
Now.

Speaker 1 (09:40):
I told you that you know in in in radio
and and and in entertainment, there there is no shame.
So we'll we want you to be supporters of this show,
and we'll take you how we can get you, okay now,
and one of those things is we'll just give you money.
We'll just buy you okay. So so we have some of

(10:03):
you may have seen me teasing this yesterday. What is
better than a will of meat. That's a great question. Uh,
I mean, that's it. I mean, can you imagine trying
to answer that question. Well, we were forced to answer
it because, you know, we ended up with the wheel
because basically, I think it was too big to move.
So we said, well, I tell you what's better than

(10:23):
than than meat? You know, remember we even lost meat
at one point where it can meet. Yeah, and the
only thing better than that is money. Okay, money can meet. Yeah,
there you go, So go hand in hand behind Greg.
I don't know, Adler, can you get Yeah, you got
to show it that behind you see this? And Greg,
you said, let's call it?

Speaker 3 (10:42):
What now? You like bundles being first? I do?

Speaker 1 (10:45):
Okay, it's gonna do. You asked my opinion?

Speaker 3 (10:48):
Yeah, okay, the crack.

Speaker 1 (10:54):
In Okay, So anyway we we we are going to
call it the wheel of bundles, bits and bucks.

Speaker 3 (11:04):
I'll never remember that. Okay, bundles, bits and bucks. Right now?
Why is as opposed to bits, bundles and bugs? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (11:09):
And why is it called bundles, bits and bucks? You
may ask that, Yeah, some people may ask that. I'm
curious on the bundle part. Okay, I got that for you.
You can win merchandise from the storerodshow dot Com. There's
your bundle, a prize bundle. Okay, why would it say?

Speaker 3 (11:25):
Bits?

Speaker 1 (11:27):
I tell you what can can? Can somebody kind of
take me through the wheel or speedy?

Speaker 3 (11:33):
All right?

Speaker 1 (11:34):
So do you need him Mike?

Speaker 3 (11:35):
Do you care?

Speaker 4 (11:36):
You just tell him to yell?

Speaker 3 (11:37):
Okay?

Speaker 1 (11:38):
All right, so right there, so I just yeah, right, okay,
So if you land on the that we're walking through
the wheel right now for those of you that can't
see it, walk through, but just hear me explain it,
all right. So that landed on one of the logos
of the show. So that means you win a bundle,
you win something out of the out of the store.
But how do you get chosen to spend them? Okay,

(12:01):
good question, Greg. All right, so here's what happens getting
to it, Greg. At any time on the show, I
may say call her whatever, and this caller now is
is the right caller? So I say call her eleven. Yeah, okay,
I don't know why I said eleven, but anyway, so
I've always liked that number. I have too always that

(12:21):
was my second choice. So anyway, caller eleven says, hey,
I'm I'm Ethel out of Anderson, Alabama. Are you are
y'all still coming this week?

Speaker 3 (12:33):
Okay?

Speaker 1 (12:34):
Because my husband's going all right? And and then and
then I say, and then I say, Ethel, who would
you like to spin the wheel for you? They're even
get to pick who.

Speaker 3 (12:42):
They want, okay.

Speaker 1 (12:43):
And she may say I'd like Speedy to spend it.
So and then Speedy spends it whatever it lands on. Hey, Gary,
Gary's a female right right by the way. Today another
thing on the show today, Gary claims he's bought a
new phone so he can be on the show more.
I said, we're gonna tested to We're gonna test it today, okay,

(13:03):
all right? So Ethel says, Hey, my husband's going to
that thing Sunday night. Y'all still doing it? And and
then I said, well, you know what, we'll talk to
Span and I want Speedy spinning.

Speaker 3 (13:12):
I like Speedy.

Speaker 8 (13:12):
I like his little bald head and it's skinny leag
and I love his skinny legs, his legs like a
mine did in high school.

Speaker 1 (13:21):
So anyway, so then that's a nice so then and
so so Speedy lands on that. So that means she
won something from the store. But it's only one spin.

Speaker 3 (13:30):
We're done.

Speaker 1 (13:31):
Okay, to spin what you want, because we want the
will to be entertaining, not annoying the people that are
not even involved in two segments. Now we're not doing
multiple spins all that. So now the next one, look
it lands on Greg going that way, all.

Speaker 2 (13:43):
Right, release look cracking.

Speaker 3 (13:46):
Now then that you'll hear that.

Speaker 1 (13:49):
And then Greg and Greg just and Greg just complains
about something he had.

Speaker 3 (13:52):
Okay, making the list.

Speaker 1 (13:56):
I got the first one, okay, so now look at
the next one. Oh, there's money, money if it lands
on if it lands on that one, all of it,
and say that's five hundred dollars, five hundred five, five
hundred dollars, and and it lands on that. I mean, hey, baby,
you in business, somebody said today and this will also

(14:17):
be the intro for the wheel.

Speaker 3 (14:19):
Okay, so just ruin money.

Speaker 4 (14:27):
I like that money, money, money, Oh money, what are
we winning?

Speaker 3 (14:33):
Well?

Speaker 9 (14:34):
Money?

Speaker 3 (14:35):
Oh say there you go?

Speaker 1 (14:42):
All right, so then then then you won that. So
I'm gonna take a break, We're gonna come back and
we're gonna go through more of the wheel. That's how
incredible the will is. I like the wheel? Is that
there there's.

Speaker 3 (14:51):
Okay with how we did that, Greg, I mean, I
am so far so far.

Speaker 1 (14:55):
So it's it's it's the it's the wheel of bundles,
bits and bucks.

Speaker 3 (14:59):
Oh god, bundles, bits and bugs all right? So yeah, yes,
all right, so bits, bundles not buddles.

Speaker 1 (15:05):
Well, we'll walk through that and somebody's gonna get a
chance to have one of us spent it for them
before this hour is done. What I wanted it earlier.

Speaker 4 (15:14):
Get out of town.

Speaker 2 (15:15):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (15:22):
We're talking about the wheel. We have a lot of
things to cover today, and somebody is going to get
a chance to have somebody spin the wheel of bundle
bits and bucks.

Speaker 3 (15:31):
For them today. Bundles.

Speaker 1 (15:34):
But I want you to know what's happening, so so speedy,
get back over there so we have that. Yeah, that's
money all right now, say it lands on that right there? Now,
This is interesting. This is interesting. You know sometimes even
though things are new, uh, something that's been gone for
a long time, uh really by popular demand. This was

(15:55):
something that was created long long ago, when you know,
as of hot rocking dj uh and that is the
character Helium Boy. So if it lands on this because
remember it is bundles, but it's also bits. So we
just had Greg a minute ago releasing the cracking. This
is what Helium boy will come in and weigh in

(16:16):
on something. Okay, so you won't really win anything, but
you'll but we'll hear from helium boy right here.

Speaker 3 (16:21):
Oh bottle, you know it'll pop in.

Speaker 1 (16:23):
Oh. So here's when a lot of people are asking,
let's say it lands on this next one. Vox seats
you've heard of? I got, Hey, you going to the game.
You've got box seats here, you have vox seats for
big Vox entertainment and uh and so we have vox seats.

Speaker 6 (16:37):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (16:37):
Can you get a shot of those out it? Can
you say it is out?

Speaker 1 (16:41):
I think this turned out great. Look at the vox seats.
Make a note on the basketball goal. We'll get to
that in a minute. It look at the vox seats.
So you would win vox seats two seats to come
to come and watch the show. Now what this is
making people do?

Speaker 3 (16:56):
Right now?

Speaker 6 (16:56):
Hey?

Speaker 3 (16:56):
Man?

Speaker 1 (16:57):
When when can I Hey, when they gonna start reserving
vox seats to come watch the show? Great question? We
don't know, but we are.

Speaker 3 (17:05):
Going to do a question. It is a good question.
We're going to do it.

Speaker 1 (17:08):
But we're gonna do it. And what we'll do is
probably meet after the show today and I'll ask Speedy, hey,
when can we start booking vox seats and he'll tell me,
and then I'll tell you when we'll start those so so,
but probably this week they will start so so. Anyway,
so you would win vox seats. Now, keep in mind
if you're in the vox seat, somebody every time where
we have vox seat people will do a random number

(17:31):
from the vox seats and that person.

Speaker 3 (17:33):
Good to come up and spin too. It okay, but
it's only one spinning time. It's only one's one. I
like it, the multiple spin thing.

Speaker 1 (17:39):
I mean, it's fun for the spinner, but it's it's
a boring bit for the for the it is so
we want to keep it exciting. We want to keep
it happening, popping going all right with say lands on
the next one, the Man of a Thousand Voices, that's
a picture of Speedy. Speedy has to do an impression
of who whatever celebrity you say to see. That would
be a bit. I like that, all right. Next, it's easy, Hey,

(18:00):
now there's a thousand dollars thousand did you say what
there's a thousand dollars?

Speaker 3 (18:08):
That's a thousand dollars.

Speaker 4 (18:09):
Is the staff allowed to spend?

Speaker 3 (18:11):
No staffs men?

Speaker 1 (18:12):
No?

Speaker 3 (18:13):
Hey, how about this? Everybody? All right?

Speaker 1 (18:16):
So all right, next, you'll love the next one. Unfortunately
that Speedy's wallet.

Speaker 3 (18:20):
Oh whoa. That can't be good.

Speaker 1 (18:22):
That means not only do you not win, you have
to buy Spitty's lunch.

Speaker 4 (18:25):
Okay, that's fair. Okay, there's fair.

Speaker 3 (18:29):
Fair, we be hey, we've all spun that will right? Yeah, okay, right?

Speaker 1 (18:32):
Next, next is just to repeat. There's the that's another
bundle from the store because it's the show logo. You
know why, because the bits, bundles and bucks. Yeah, Greg,
you'll love this next one. There's a picture of me
when I was a hot rocking DJ.

Speaker 3 (18:43):
Oh and I'm.

Speaker 1 (18:44):
Wearing about Olabama's last outlaw. Yes, and I'm wearing a
Raiders hat. And for some reason, what I thought was
the coolest tank top in the world, my eight ball
tank top.

Speaker 3 (18:52):
Okay, remember watch, let me see what am I wearing.
I tell you what that eight tank The fact is
the tank top.

Speaker 1 (19:04):
And don't miss I'm at work this is a picture
of me at work.

Speaker 3 (19:08):
Got dressed. Where are you going going to work?

Speaker 1 (19:10):
Really gregging those days, goutting grass dragging those days there
was no one to say or you. But anyway, if
you'll notice that picture doesn't tell you everything. I also
have on a pair of Raiders sweatpants. You remember those titles,
they're like tiger strip.

Speaker 3 (19:25):
He had this run dressed. I guess he got ahead
of this, but he was dressing in raider gear.

Speaker 1 (19:32):
So so when that happens, that means that I go
hot rocking DJ. That that'll be a bit and I
have to walk a song and take you back to
my days of a DJ. Okay, okay, now do you
do y'all think I should walk the song that somebody
requested on the fly? That's gonna be hard. Or should
I just have one ready to walk?

Speaker 3 (19:50):
Okay?

Speaker 1 (19:51):
I have some ready to walk. The next one real simple. Again,
there's money. There's five hundred dollars again. So that's that's
real simple. Uh, And you just won money? Yeah, So
that that's and then the next one subscription to Blaze TV.
Blaze TV, by the way, they came back said hey,
we want to continue on so so an hour of
the of the of the Rick Burgers Show is on

(20:11):
Blaze TV every day, the best of our and we
have a little something we're brewing too that we'll tell
you more about later.

Speaker 3 (20:17):
All Right.

Speaker 1 (20:17):
The next one you land on, that's simple rock and
roll city.

Speaker 3 (20:20):
Yeah, rock and.

Speaker 1 (20:21):
Roll city, and that means that Adler and if you
want to bring Greg into they just have to.

Speaker 3 (20:26):
You got to be ready to riff.

Speaker 1 (20:27):
Okay, you just you got to be ready to just
take the axe out and I mean just melt our faces. Sure, okay,
all right. So the next one, Henry the Horse is
hanging around. So here here's Henry again.

Speaker 4 (20:39):
Or Hank the Hound.

Speaker 3 (20:40):
You never know Hank.

Speaker 1 (20:42):
Look it's a new day, so we can bring Hank
the Hound back as well.

Speaker 3 (20:46):
All right.

Speaker 1 (20:46):
The next one there it is again that's just money.
One thousand dollars, a thousand bucks again, thousand bucks.

Speaker 3 (20:51):
Again, that's just money. That's just money.

Speaker 1 (20:54):
So foul, all right. The next one not good? Here,
that's Beth Mowens. Now that's the one. I was curious
abou out that I looked at almost see that that
that then that then bathways in I.

Speaker 4 (21:05):
Thought that was speedy.

Speaker 3 (21:06):
Okay, wait a minute. That is, you're not gonna win
on the wheel today, guys, okay, Greg, that you're doing Scooby,
you're doing Shaggy all right.

Speaker 1 (21:17):
Next, and then that's the final one. There's another bundle
out of the store. So there's all the things on
the wheel. That's how it works.

Speaker 6 (21:22):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (21:23):
It'll be a random caller or or it will be
a random texture today. Somebody off the text option will
get a chance to pick somebody to spend for them.
So we'll have a caller today and we'll have a
texture today and we're gonna do this once an hour
for the entire show today.

Speaker 3 (21:41):
Hey, watch out watch wait.

Speaker 1 (21:45):
By the way, some of your comments on the text
about the yeah, okay, we got it.

Speaker 3 (21:49):
That's a great one.

Speaker 1 (21:50):
And that one right there I'm looking at now, that's
a great comparison between the wheel and me and the
will of money. Yeah good, No, Greg, that's not what
we want.

Speaker 6 (21:59):
Now.

Speaker 3 (21:59):
That's thank you for that. Ada No, no.

Speaker 1 (22:08):
I go back to I go back home. I go
back to the very first point. What about this at
the camp house? About this?

Speaker 3 (22:15):
I read a scripture. I started to a scripture.

Speaker 9 (22:19):
He did.

Speaker 4 (22:20):
No, that was that was wise. That's wisdom.

Speaker 3 (22:22):
No, all right, so you know this depends on how
you take it. I'm making no, no, no, you're wrong
about that.

Speaker 6 (22:29):
You think.

Speaker 3 (22:31):
How do you take it?

Speaker 1 (22:32):
So they like winning money, No, there's they're saying, there's
nothing better than when you want know what, compared to
all right, So.

Speaker 4 (22:41):
The difference between money and meat.

Speaker 3 (22:43):
Yeah, so us just close together is not gonna work.
I'm just gonna let you know.

Speaker 1 (22:47):
By the way, what I'm looking for him doing an
impression that close to him? A listen, Oh we we are.
We are forty three minutes into the new show, and
I'm gonna have separate speeding.

Speaker 3 (22:58):
Okay, that's all that's it was an experiment.

Speaker 4 (23:01):
Didn't make it an hour?

Speaker 3 (23:02):
Yeah, yes.

Speaker 1 (23:03):
And it's the same number either way. Texture if you're calling,
it's eight eight eight six Big Box, are texting? Same thing,
ye either way, same same number.

Speaker 4 (23:12):
So eight eight eight six Big Vox.

Speaker 6 (23:15):
That's right.

Speaker 4 (23:16):
Okay, I didn't know that, so to me.

Speaker 3 (23:18):
So the first you learn, you learned something. I can't
get the wheels. It bundles bits and bucks, correct and
no bell. That's well, good point.

Speaker 1 (23:28):
Yeah, so when it lands on herd, you can add
it go oh it today it's bundles, bits and bucks
and real be real careful, Greg about how about you
don't tell anybody about it?

Speaker 3 (23:38):
Won't you just not?

Speaker 1 (23:41):
I'll just stand So here's the deal. Website is Rick
burgesshow dot com. Everything you need to know is there.
Obviously there's gonna be a process of some of this stuff,
you know, links and stuff catching up, so it'll all
work itself out. The store is back open again. Do
y'all realize they did not make y'all feel good that
we did a trial run and opened the store over

(24:04):
the three week break and they sold out so fast
they shut the store down and said, we underestimated the
respond that's good. We got to restock. So everything's stocked now.
So the store is there. So check the new website.
I thought it turned out fantastic. Studio looks fantastic, and
we're kind of walking you through what you can expect.

Speaker 3 (24:24):
So so with that being.

Speaker 1 (24:26):
Said, when we come back, I'm going to take a
caller at eight eight eight six big Vox. Somebody is
gonna pick one of us to spend the wheel for them,
and whatever that will lands on we go for.

Speaker 3 (24:42):
It will be a bundle?

Speaker 1 (24:43):
Will it be a bit or will it be bucks
or a bat? And we'll do that when we come back.

Speaker 3 (24:51):
Thanks for being with us.

Speaker 2 (24:53):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 6 (26:11):
Let's go with Greg.

Speaker 1 (26:14):
Okay, let's go, great van of white Greg, Okay, do
we need to turn it on?

Speaker 4 (26:21):
It's not plugged in. Okay, I just realized I never
plugged in.

Speaker 3 (26:24):
You didn't plug the will in. I didn't plug it in.
You plug it in.

Speaker 1 (26:27):
Yes, of course, don't make Darryl have the wheel spun
for him. Darryl, do you want us to light it
up for the first ever spin of the Bundles, Bits
and Bucks?

Speaker 6 (26:37):
So we of course. I've got to be lights. Man.

Speaker 1 (26:40):
You know where you go down your list and you
check your list, and there's so many things we had
to do.

Speaker 4 (26:45):
I looked at it and thought, okay, I need an
extension cord for that, and then I never thought about
that thought again.

Speaker 3 (26:49):
You had a lot going on, man, I didn't think
about that thought again.

Speaker 1 (26:53):
Here go, Speedy's got your extension cord.

Speaker 3 (26:55):
Okay, good, plug it in. All right, there we go.
Plug it in.

Speaker 4 (27:00):
You don't know about power, but it goes in the holes.
The prongs go in the holes.

Speaker 3 (27:04):
Let's see here, here we go. All right, wait, all right.

Speaker 1 (27:09):
Here we go. Greg's plugging it in. Light up, now,
light it up. For Darryl. All right, there we go.
It's lit, all right, Daryl, there you go. All right,
all right, so Greg is gonna spend it for Daryl.
What will it land on? All right, Greg, give it
a rip.

Speaker 3 (27:22):
Here, here we go.

Speaker 6 (27:23):
You in.

Speaker 3 (27:24):
Wow, this is big yah.

Speaker 1 (27:26):
I see see what Darryl gets here? All right, Daryl,
Greg is spinning for you. What if you want money
right out of the gate?

Speaker 3 (27:34):
Would that not be fantas?

Speaker 9 (27:37):
Here?

Speaker 3 (27:37):
I need money, Daryl.

Speaker 1 (27:48):
All right, So Daryl, rock and roll city is gonna
is going to mount your face.

Speaker 3 (27:53):
He's so disappointed.

Speaker 1 (27:54):
But Darryl, that's ow. We're doing it every hour today
and your odds are getting in again are almost none.

Speaker 3 (27:58):
But here ye all right.

Speaker 8 (28:01):
I don't even even know my guitar work anymore hearing him.

Speaker 6 (28:05):
Here we go.

Speaker 3 (28:06):
I needed to turn on. Okay, you get get we
gotta we gotta get on there. Okay, there goes Gray.
Don't Darrel, that's wow, that's wow.

Speaker 1 (28:14):
I know it loud money, but but it is rock
and roll.

Speaker 6 (28:24):
Yeah, damn.

Speaker 3 (28:31):
Smoke on the water.

Speaker 8 (28:32):
For Darryl.

Speaker 6 (28:47):
There is, Darryl.

Speaker 9 (28:48):
Yeah, there it is.

Speaker 3 (28:50):
Thanks for listening.

Speaker 6 (28:51):
Money.

Speaker 4 (28:53):
That song that was that was called Speedy on the
water because he smokes cigarette.

Speaker 3 (28:57):
I don't sorry. I was just ruined it all speedy
on the water. So that's good. That's a good, big buddy.

Speaker 6 (29:04):
That was good.

Speaker 1 (29:06):
So how about Darryl will be Forever Ever? And Rick
Burgess show folklore as the first person to ever spind
the wheel of bundle bits and book.

Speaker 3 (29:15):
How did he handle it? Bless his heart? A thousand
bucks you got this bundles bits and he had a
great attitude. He went there. Etho dropped the ball. She
could have been first.

Speaker 1 (29:27):
Well, yeah, goys, y'all got to get it together because
one thing, you know, we're gonna keep this show moving.
I mean you gotta understand this show is gonna go
with this place right here. And I mean when when
we went to we went to that caller, she seemed
all confused or whatever.

Speaker 8 (29:39):
We just move on.

Speaker 3 (29:40):
Yeah, so yeah, a shoe. We were ready. We didn't
think we didn't. Maybe every day for the show we
might need to go to make a little quick run.

Speaker 4 (29:51):
Yeah, make sure my guitar works, no panicking.

Speaker 11 (29:54):
For a second.

Speaker 6 (29:55):
Was in tune?

Speaker 3 (29:55):
Pretty good? Can I tell you what? Can I tell
you what?

Speaker 1 (29:59):
What is also funny because all of us were talking
about this because we're doing so many things that you is.
The minute the wheel spun, I realized, probably should have
set up a song to walk in case. In case
it we wouldn't have.

Speaker 3 (30:12):
To fun scrambling for stuff. Oh, I just had to
run and go get an extension.

Speaker 1 (30:15):
Let me tell you what I want to when not
just an extent about a fifty foot That's the first
thing I grabbed.

Speaker 3 (30:21):
And hey, I mean to say, the break room is
a mess. I pulled that thing.

Speaker 6 (30:25):
I didn't know what you were.

Speaker 1 (30:26):
You were going for an extance where you're going, But
when you opened the door and you were in drape across.

Speaker 4 (30:30):
You needed five feet, you brought fifty.

Speaker 1 (30:33):
Yeah, well we got extra. Today is a really it's
a run through.

Speaker 3 (30:37):
Yeah, it's a run through.

Speaker 6 (30:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (30:39):
So we'll uh, we'll come back and again next hour
it'll happen again. Now we may do it a different way, uh,
but next hour it will happen again. Now we also
will come back as we continue to tour. Uh, the
new studio set up. We do have another feature we
want to talk about, and we come back. And this
was something out of the mind of ab and uh

(31:01):
it was it was so funny when he came to
me and he was like, you don't want to know
what I thought about it, And it was like, uh,
you could tell he thought a no maybe coming and
he was a little emotional about it. But but I'm
fired up about it. Let's just keep throwing stuff at
the wall and if we decided to go with it. Yeah,
Well he's, you know, a very creative young man.

Speaker 3 (31:20):
He is well, he is well, what is it?

Speaker 4 (31:23):
I don't even remember what it was?

Speaker 3 (31:25):
And has his hair down.

Speaker 1 (31:26):
Oh oh yeah, yeah, yeah, that's cool. Yeah, So we'll
come back. We'll continue to look at all the new features.
The Rick Burgess Show debut today. Thanks for being with us,
The number eight eight eight six, big box that works
on the phone or the text, uh, and more fun
more updates. James Span will update us on the Winter

(31:47):
Storm too, coming up next hour now if you if
you missed our one, we've been touring the makeover of
the Big Boys studio, big Boy himself with a new location.
As a matter of fact, when he if we have

(32:07):
a guest and they'll be on the gas mic, you'll
see Big Boy standing behind them. Uh, and we'll actually
call that the Big Boy.

Speaker 3 (32:14):
Guess MinC U.

Speaker 1 (32:16):
Yeah, we took We took the first spin of the
will of bundle, bits and bucks the only thing better
than meat money.

Speaker 6 (32:24):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (32:24):
There's thousand dollars blocks, there's five hundred dollars blocks. There's bits,
and there's bundles from the store.

Speaker 3 (32:32):
One.

Speaker 1 (32:33):
As I said, it is the debut.

Speaker 9 (32:35):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (32:35):
People are telling me for some reason, the the link
to the store is still saying that it hasn't opened yet.
We don't know whether that's yeah, a website issue are
the store, but I have contacted them, uh and said
you're killing us so so anyway, so so that so
that well, that's well, I don't even have another one.

Speaker 3 (32:56):
Surely they're stock by now right because they closed it
because they ran out everything after we after we opened
it during the break and they closed it, and I
just I wonder if this stock back at this date.

Speaker 1 (33:08):
No, Here's the thing you love the most is that
I was told that not only will it be open today,
it's it will be it was going to be open
at ten to fifteen last night.

Speaker 3 (33:19):
Oh yeah, so this is you want we read you
the emails. Everybody bought it at ten fifteen. That's its
back out.

Speaker 1 (33:25):
Yeah, stock is loaded into the store. We are good
to launch on Monday. Have stores set to open at
ten fifteen pm last night.

Speaker 3 (33:33):
Well, maybe there's well I'm looking at it right now.
The store is currently closed.

Speaker 4 (33:38):
They do have the right logo though.

Speaker 3 (33:40):
That's good. That's good.

Speaker 1 (33:41):
Yeah, there's so we'll we'll look. They're, like I said,
they're a new team. I will say that I've worked
with them on some other other deals, nothing quite the
size of this, so they'll have to adapt a little
as well. So so anyway, so so we'll we'll get
that store open. But you know, you only get one

(34:03):
grand opening.

Speaker 3 (34:06):
Torow We're good, you know.

Speaker 1 (34:10):
Uh, But anyway, so well, but we'll find out. Look, well,
same thing, I mean, you know, tune in. Uh they
they they've drugg The funny thing is how many these
people like.

Speaker 3 (34:19):
You said, yeah, I'll tell you, I'll go this far.

Speaker 1 (34:24):
A lot of these people if you think about you know,
when if you go back to last year, they have
been known to get ready for almost a year. Wow,
for almost a year.

Speaker 6 (34:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (34:37):
Again, I don't know if you know that we said
goodbye for an entire year. We did, right, So so anyway,
but but but look that's that's the fun of the
first day. Uh, and we'll continue. So we were we've
talked a lot about the the makeover. If you miss that,
like say go back and catch it on the archives today.

(34:58):
But one thing that is that is brand new to
the studio just it hasn't been just redone.

Speaker 3 (35:03):
It's brand new.

Speaker 1 (35:04):
And I don't Adler, can you explain this idea to us.
There's there's a couple of basketball goals over here, and
you you came to me really excited asking me about
a basketball goal.

Speaker 4 (35:16):
And yeah, I would basically say, can I put a
basketball goal in the studio?

Speaker 3 (35:21):
And can I ask you this? Do you agree?

Speaker 6 (35:23):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (35:23):
I don't want you to take this as any kind
of dig or anything like that, because you know we're
not that way. Of all the people, I thought we're
going to ask me about a basketball goal, I didn't
think you.

Speaker 4 (35:32):
Well, it's a miniature basketball goals.

Speaker 3 (35:35):
It is pretty low, like a child for a kid.

Speaker 1 (35:38):
Rick He was excited about it when it was when
he was telling us about it, and it was so funny.
And that day we were talking about different things and
you said, let I tell what I hate. A bunch
of clutter in the studio and I said, well, about
that basketball, I guess we're not doing it sins.

Speaker 3 (35:51):
Rick hates clutter, right, And then you said, no, no, no,
I don't consider that clutter. But at first Ricky's little
face was just mean, hard, excited.

Speaker 4 (36:00):
It's a double. It's a two lane shooter. For the
people that are just listening, it's a basketball. It uses
the basketballs are many basketballs, but they feel rubbery and
like good enough, you know, they feel yeah, yeah, thank you, Greg,
thank you, buddy. Ever been involved, but you know, you know,

(36:22):
we used to run the forty. That used to be
a bit on the show. The staff ran the forty.
Guests would run this the forty. But we got injured,
We got hurt, We got injured, like long term, long
term injuries.

Speaker 1 (36:37):
My back.

Speaker 4 (36:37):
I think that's when I herniated the discs in my back. Frankly,
I think that's when I did it. But now, so
this is much lower contact, much lower stakes. Hard to
pull a hammy shooting little mini basketballs into a mini shooter.

Speaker 1 (36:51):
Yeah, and you can actually score, and you score thing
and you compete with the other person shooting.

Speaker 4 (36:57):
You can go head to head or we could just
go you know, one at a time, see who can
score the most points in thirty seconds.

Speaker 2 (37:03):
It's whatever.

Speaker 3 (37:03):
Okay, you know I can do.

Speaker 4 (37:05):
Have to warn you guys, I have one of these
at home, been practicing. Gonna wipe the court with y'all,
probably to use a basketball term.

Speaker 1 (37:11):
Probably will Okay, Well, well, well that's something else we
can play with. Yeah, so there's there's a lot of
things to play with.

Speaker 3 (37:19):
So we'll do that.

Speaker 4 (37:20):
Burgess ball. I say, we call it burgess ball.

Speaker 1 (37:22):
We could burgess ball, Yeah, we could. When the box
seats open, we can, you know, have a playoff in
here or something like.

Speaker 4 (37:29):
Vox ball, something big ball, big vox ball.

Speaker 1 (37:32):
No, I don't think that that there, So so we'll
do that. Also going forward today, as a matter of fact,
this hour span will update us on this winter storm situation.
It's already affecting some of you. Some of you may
be in the path of it coming up this weekend
or this week. He'll update us on that coming up. Uh,

(37:53):
so we we do have that around the corner. A
lot of you have asked since we're this is the week. Uh,
we're now down to the semi finals on the college
football Playoff. The NFL playoffs start this weekend. Uh, you know,
we I think we need to look into that a
little bit and and ask an uncomfortable question. Have we

(38:14):
found the college football playoff to be a little underwhelming? Uh,
it's an uncomfortable question. I don't even like to speak
of it.

Speaker 4 (38:22):
The games I have caught, I've enjoyed.

Speaker 6 (38:24):
Have you I have?

Speaker 3 (38:25):
Yeah, I've only seen one that was that was close.

Speaker 4 (38:29):
I understand that. It's it's just I enjoy having games
of consequence. It's like whoever wins, just actual consequence.

Speaker 3 (38:38):
That is good.

Speaker 1 (38:39):
So we'll talk about that.

Speaker 3 (38:40):
Did you speaking of that? Greg was informing me about
Kirby Smart's dad. Did you hear about that? Is all
terrible news.

Speaker 4 (38:47):
Fell in New Orleans. Yeah, was in the hospital for
several days and then ended up passing away.

Speaker 6 (38:55):
Yeah. The Uh.

Speaker 1 (38:57):
And I was telling the guys earlier in and my
wife and I were talking about this, and I'll update
you on how our vacation began. There's a lot of
people falling, a lot of falling going on.

Speaker 3 (39:09):
You know, I fell down channel steps, did you really, Yeah,
into the garage, sprawled out right on the concrete.

Speaker 1 (39:14):
A lot of falling. Dennis Prager has fallen, it's paralyzed.

Speaker 3 (39:19):
I didn't even know about that. Yeah, suddenly mine didn't
feel that important.

Speaker 1 (39:22):
No, I'm not well when you think Kirby Smart's dad
is dead, yes, and Dennis Prager is paralyzed, never mind
what I say, right, okay, but but but but but
I think we do have to look at there's a
lot of people falling. Yeah, uh so uh so I
would say, what you're footing? So uh And and a
lot of you have said, will Dickey admire check in

(39:45):
because you know Bbama did not finish well for those
other parts of the country. You may know he's uh,
he's a Bama fan, but probably can speak to the
whole state of.

Speaker 3 (39:55):
The playoff and and all that as well. So I
think we will hear from him today for sure. So
raise your hand if you were being honest that you
were surprised by what Notre Dame did my hands, very surprised.

Speaker 4 (40:05):
Noah, how good they look. But maybe that played into
it with his dad.

Speaker 3 (40:10):
I mean, I don't know Georgia with the backup quarterback
having to play. Yeah, yeah, there's some things there. Yeah,
all right, we'll surprised.

Speaker 1 (40:20):
Yeah, And also an uncomfortable question do we still get breakfast? Yes, okay,
I think when thank god, yeah, but you did you
did you check on that? Oh yeah, they've been doing
it throughout the break and everything. Yeah, so they're back
to a full breakfast today. I think, all right, we'll
be right back.

Speaker 2 (40:38):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (40:45):
The new number is eight eight eight six Big Box
and that works on the text option, that works on
the phone call option. And again this hour, somebody is
going to get a chance for one of the members
of the team here to spend the wheel and could
you can win some money one thousand dollars five hundred dollars.

(41:05):
Also there's bundles and there's also bits on the wheel.
So somebody else gets another chance this hour, and we'll
do it every hour as the Rick Burgess Show Grand
opening continues. So from the from the text line, somebody said,
I actually ordered one of the old Man's strong church
over the holidays before you know, we sold out, and

(41:27):
he said so, I think he's saying he got his,
which is good. So we were supposed to do the
the reopening today and it's still showing close.

Speaker 6 (41:37):
Now.

Speaker 1 (41:37):
One of the things we are taking into consideration is
the new store is based out of Memphis, Tennessee. So
I don't know if they win a storm, you know
they I don't see how that would affect it. But
but all right, so now it's got the word that
it is working now. Oh okay, it is working now.

(41:58):
It says sorry, not sure what happened on the back end.
It it opened at ten pm last night, but yet
it wasn't working. I just logged in and overrode that
it is working now. It is working now at a
kid Buba send manhatt that's his name, is actually Bubba
crowder by the way. Yeah, so uh yeah, it's so

(42:20):
there it is. Uh so the store is now working.
Uh so if you're looking, just go there.

Speaker 6 (42:27):
There it is.

Speaker 3 (42:28):
Okay, it's working there. Here we go, all right, there
we got it done.

Speaker 1 (42:31):
So a lot of things gotta get worked out, a
lot of things. There's another one I'm watching now with
tune in, but I mean we'll get.

Speaker 3 (42:37):
To that, all right. So let's let's look back over.

Speaker 1 (42:41):
I know SPAN's gonna update us on the the winter
weather coming up next, but before that, uh, let's look
back over the three weeks. Now, some of you, if
you want to see what we did, Like what was
it the first week the second weekend that we were
all off, we had to start planning, you know, for

(43:03):
the launch of this show. So we had a camp
house business summit. We've done a documentary. The first episode
of that documentary will be on the Rick Burgess Show
YouTube channel at the end of the live show today.
So and we'll get out on social media and let

(43:23):
you know when it's officially there. The first episode has
been edited, it's been done.

Speaker 3 (43:28):
We have the link.

Speaker 1 (43:30):
We actually hired a young man named young Young Broderick
Brody Burgess and his company to shoot this for us
so that Adler could just enjoy himself. And he has
edited it. He's done all that, and it will be
multiple episodes, So episode one, and look for in this
new day a lot more of this kind of stuff

(43:52):
on our YouTube channel. So daily show there, daily archive,
all that Wednesday Bible study is back coming up this Wednesday.
We've been off there for three weeks, but also things
like this. Uh so look for episode one the camp
House Business Summit coming to the YouTube channel today at the.

Speaker 3 (44:09):
Close of the live show.

Speaker 1 (44:11):
So over the over the we got a lot to
cover of the three weeks. I understand speedy. You had
an interesting New Year's ego?

Speaker 3 (44:17):
Oh I did I did you know? We've talked about
let me just talk to all owners of dogs that
freak out with severe weather, and this is a saga
that we've been talking about for a long time, and
that's Jacket, one of our dogs. Anytime there's thunder or lightning,
he starts freaking out. And we've even gone to the
vet got medication which I never thought I'd buy for
a dog. And he's like super dog. He doesn't even

(44:40):
affect him. And he's the only dog I know that
wants to go outside if he sees the storm, and
he's like, he goes to the door, winds and he
wants to go out, and we have a covered area
and he just sits out there. Well. Also he goes
to the stas well. On New Year's Eve, you know,
people sitting all fire sitting off fireworks sounds like thunder
to him. And so these stories along, yes, and he

(45:01):
started freaking out. And because we're old now, we rarely
stay up till midnight Central time. We try to celebrate
on the Eastern time.

Speaker 10 (45:08):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (45:08):
And so we were, you know, kind of going down,
but we had storms coming in on New Year's Eve
that were hitting round eleven to twelve o'clock, and so
he started freaking out because everybody boy said some people
that love fireworks, and they were popping all over the place.
And he starts doing his thing where he's disoriented and
wants to go outside. So I put him outside and
I'm like, just just hang out. So we wake up.

(45:30):
I wake up after midnight around one ish or so.
Did you stay up Terry yesternight? I did not.

Speaker 1 (45:35):
I didn't need to kiss Terry and raise your hand
if you stayed up to midnight, my hand is not.

Speaker 3 (45:40):
But I went to bed not long after that. I
did not know I was at the beach. I was
so out. Well, we our midnight was when we said
good night to each other. That was our midnight. Uh So, anyway,
Terry wakes up. I wake up and she was gonna
let Jackie in and she goes out there and she
opens the back door and his collar is laying there,
no dollar, It's like he was invisible. And she was like, Jackie,
you there, and so I start hearing her gock collar

(46:02):
jack and I start hearing her hollering form. So now
I'm up and I walk around. There's no Jack, and
I'm like, well, this is strange. Well, we have an
underground fence, and so with his collar off, now he
has no boundaries. And apparently, I guess he freaked out
and just ran away, ran out of his collar, just
ran out of his he I don't I think he
tried to put his head through this little fence on

(46:23):
my side, and when he yanked it back, the collar
came off. That's all I can think. So now now
I'm at one thirty one forty five, I am riding
around our subdivision screaming Jack, Jack Jack.

Speaker 1 (46:35):
I mean, I'm riding around that time again, one forty five,
and you're in the neighborhood hollering Jack.

Speaker 3 (46:41):
Yes, Yes, I'm creeping along. I'm trying not to get shocked.
Were youre afraid somebody might walk out of the dark
and say, I'm Jack? Yeah, how you doing? What's your name? Jack?
I mean? I so I stayed about two fifteen. I'm
I don't know what y'all were doing. You know, saw
some folks coming in from partying, and and so I'm like, wow,
So we used to be now Jack screaming Jack Jack,

(47:01):
riding around nothing. So We're like, well, I don't know
what to do. I do we just go to sleep. Well,
you know, Terry's upset and whatever. And I'm like, well,
I was gonna go hunting, but now I guess I
want them. Now there's any better than New Year's Day
dog running off? Ye isn't well? Because now I gotta
wait till till daylight so I can find Jack.

Speaker 1 (47:18):
Wait a minute, your hunts off?

Speaker 6 (47:19):
Now?

Speaker 3 (47:19):
Yes, I was gonna go hunting and be hanging in
the hardwoods off side of a tree on New Year's Day,
like I do. It's just this bad. I guess I
just don't understand. So I wake up. Well what about
the dog? Well, well, if your wife wants to find
the dog, then you've got to want to find the dog.

Speaker 4 (47:35):
Is Jack the one in the middle here?

Speaker 7 (47:37):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (47:38):
Yeah, no, it's to the right. Well that's that he's
a trouble maker. Yeah, he's got trouble.

Speaker 1 (47:43):
I want to step into the dog world. So if
your wife says I want the dog found, then that
does overrue hunt?

Speaker 3 (47:52):
Yeah yeah, yes, I wouldn't know that. Yeah, oh yeah
yeah yeah, Oh boy does it okay? And and and
I felt terrible because I was hoping Jack when ever
come back and that, and I felt guilty, but it
was only for a second and then I went back out.
You didn't look that hard. No, I rode around a lot,
and I don't know if y'all remember, it was kind
of cold too, and I was we're worried about him
being cold and all that, so we're screaming Jack. Well,

(48:14):
I wake up the next morning, hunt off and I said,
you know, I need to check. I forgot check. Our
subdivision has this big Facebook page. Okay, yes, where And
sure enough, boom, at like two o'clock, two thirty in
the morning, somebody says, says, anybody lost this dog? Oh,
And I'm like, oh my gosh, there's Jack. So now
I'm thinking I won't have to ride around screaming Jack.
So Terry messages the person that's actually all sweet little baby,

(48:37):
and so I'm like, okay, I guess I'm going to
get Jack. So at about seven o'clock, I'm going to
get Jack that she found in the middle of the night.
And I said, well, what how did this happen? She said, well,
my son was coming home and saw a dog on
the side of the road and when it stopped when
he stopped the truck, it came up, just sat down
beside the truck. Well, his truck looks exactly like mine,

(48:58):
and he said it was ed And you know that
good us for a good Samaritan and just hey, great person.
He said, I need to take this dog home. This
dog don't need to be out here. And so it
was good. Thank goodness for good people. So my New
Year's Day started bad, but ended by meeting good people
that did the right things. You do only thing. Oh,
I'm sorry you didn't get to get Yeah. Now I
told Jack, I asked Jack, what are you doing? Buddy?

(49:19):
And you wish they'd have found him sooner?

Speaker 5 (49:21):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (49:21):
Yeah, yeah, I wish I had checked sooner. I had
checked and found him at two and gone hunting.

Speaker 2 (49:26):
Sure, this is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 3 (49:33):
It's in bucks. What's better than meat? Money?

Speaker 1 (49:37):
Uh, there's an opportunity for one thousand dollars on the wheel,
five hundred dollars on the wheel.

Speaker 3 (49:42):
There's bits, there's also bundles. We will do it different
this hour.

Speaker 1 (49:46):
We're gonna do it every hour. So this hour we're
gonna use the text option. And that's eight eight eight six,
big box. I'm going to ask you a question. The
first person that we get that that texts the right
answer on the text option, Speedy's gonna grab your number

(50:06):
because we can see your numbers, and we're gonna call
you and let somebody spend the wheel for you. Okay,
all right, So here is the question, and then I've
got a little something I need to do, so it'll
give you time to look over there. The first person
that can text the correct answer, and that's key. Can
you name Greg Burgess's grandchildren? There's four of them, their
first names.

Speaker 3 (50:27):
Can you name them? Let me see if I can
do it? Yeah, Greg, I hope you can. Papa.

Speaker 1 (50:31):
So that's eight eight eight If you're texting eight eight
eight six big box are eight eight eight six two
four four eight six nine. The first texture that gets
all four of Greg's grandchildren all four names correct. You're
gonna be the next person that gets a shot at
the wheel. While you're doing that, I do want to
point you and ask a question, as boy that was close.

(50:55):
I want to ask a questions. How did you sleep
last night? I just sleep last night? Do you wake
up with you're back hurting? Have you got one of
those watch things or whatever?

Speaker 3 (51:03):
Speed.

Speaker 1 (51:03):
You've got one of those, don't Your Apple watch tells
you how you stay? Have you been looking at it?
Have you been looking at it?

Speaker 3 (51:09):
Going you know what? I'm not doing? Well?

Speaker 12 (51:11):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (51:11):
I only got six last night?

Speaker 9 (51:12):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (51:12):

you need to upgrade that. Now by going to Helix

so remember we did this going into the three week break,
but they're going to continue this savings twenty five percent

(51:34):
off at Helix Sleep dot com slash big Box. Now
why why do you want to do that? Because Helix
customizes the mattress. They customize it to the way you sleep, Greg,
you sleep on one of these? Yeah, Beck, I'm gonna
tell you this. I was on vacation while we were off,
went to the beach. Yep, the place was nice, but
I missed that Helix mattress. Oh man, I missed. How

(51:54):
long when you start feeling? Oh the first night when
I got back home, Rick, it just reached out and
just hold me. So they're going to customize it. Ask
you a little bit how you sleep, No, no big

Speaker 3 (52:25):
All right, speedy, do we have a correct We do
have a we do have a correct answer. And I thought,
let's see. Okay, we're looking at their number. Correct answer, Okay,
I wrote it down wrong? Okay, yeah, okay, all right,
get them on and we'll.

Speaker 4 (52:37):
They text us and we call them. That's right, correct,
all right, a little complicated.

Speaker 3 (52:42):
It's fun. It's fun. Better answer right, well, I mean
they just text. Why would they answer?

Speaker 6 (52:49):
All right?

Speaker 3 (52:49):
I don't answer numbers.

Speaker 9 (52:50):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (52:50):
You know what today is?

Speaker 1 (52:51):
Try you know what today and this week will be
in the probably the first quarter. Sure, trial and error,
we try new things, we see how it works, all right,
So the will in case you're joining us for the
first time. Now has money, it has bits that it
could land on, meaning we have to do whatever it says.
Then we also have bundles. You can win stuff out

(53:12):
of the store. And the store is open now we
got that resolve, so it is open, all right. So
it looks like Speedy's got Jennifer out of Nashville tennise. Hey, Jennifer,
how are.

Speaker 6 (53:22):
You good morning?

Speaker 3 (53:23):

because you were the first one to have it.

Speaker 12 (53:28):
Alice Marion, which I put care in spell check? Okay,
Mary Hollis and Pate.

Speaker 3 (53:36):
There you go.

Speaker 1 (53:37):
That's a winner right there. So you got it done
all right. So here's what you got to decide now, Okay, Jennifer,
who do you want to spend the will for you?

Speaker 3 (53:46):
Greg? Speedy? G Willy g all right, Hey, Greg, moved
the chair out of the way. And move the chair.

Speaker 1 (53:54):
You're like a child, all Jennifer. Let's see if you
can win some money. We'll see where it lands a right, Greg,
give it a spin, okay, sand all right, Jennifer.

Speaker 3 (54:03):

hold the mic.

Speaker 6 (54:05):

lands on here, all right, Jennifer, Jennifer, Wow, look.

There we go, Jennifer, out of Nashville's a there's a
money with a great good job. All right, listen, I'm
gonna go ahead and clarify this. I'm getting some up
there too. You know, everybody wish me half a new year.
Since this is the first show of the year. I'm
I'm gonna get catch it, really, but tomorrow is the deadline.
I mean, you can wish me have it today, but
now we're done because this is their first chance. Yes,
I mean, but of course it's January sixth.

Speaker 3 (55:58):
But whatever, gotcha understood, I'm gonna give you to the
seventh y'all.

Speaker 4 (56:01):
Along those notes, y'all know I've got these Venezuelan neighbors.
No I didn't know that, Okay, I got Venezuelan neighbors.
They speak Spanish. I'm walking up to one of the nice, nicer,
older ladies that lives in the right after right after
the New Year's and I'm like, hey, and I try

(56:22):
to be cool, I try to speak Spanish and I
go Pelice that means happy birthday. She just looks at me, like,
what is it?

Speaker 6 (56:31):
What do you feel?

Speaker 4 (56:32):
See go see? I'm like, yeah, well, I mean, please, Novid, what.

Speaker 3 (56:37):
A gringo move?

Speaker 13 (56:38):
I know?

Speaker 4 (56:39):
For real, I said, Felice coop Leon, I said happy birthday.

Speaker 3 (56:44):
Let me right back.

Speaker 2 (56:47):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (56:54):
And so you know, if you remember, we have all
not not Speedy, not Greg and really not either because
he'd been working on this studio. We've all been up
here some over the break because we had there's a
lot to do to get ready for the new show
and so, but we were all gone away from each
other for about three weeks. So I knew this was

(57:17):
going to be, you know, a time of rest. You know,
it had been an emotional year all that. Okay, so
we don't even get out of the first weekend December
the fourteenth. Okay, so our last day work was the thirteenth,
if you.

Speaker 3 (57:33):
Remember, it was so boy was it.

Speaker 1 (57:35):
We all we all know this world of adult children,
and you know, and I know we've all been there,
and Adler, it'll come for you one day. You can't
imagine that would ever ever happen. You can't even imagine.
And let's all talk three guys here who have done
the adult children thing. When it first starts happening and
everything's new, there's a lot of coming over to mama,

(57:59):
and you know, Mama's having to experience new things like
having to share traditions with other people. You do when
when when you have your kids get married, and two
of mine are married in larges all of yours, the
two Gregor are married. And so this was the first
year of you know, cause the two sons that are
married have now been married for a little over a year.

(58:21):
So first round a few months after their wedding went
good because it was all on Arian. Now is the
weather going to the in laws and and you know,
and then one of them has a job in you know,
southern California, and and and then you get the which
you have to acknowledge. He's been a good husband, love y'all.

(58:44):
But I've been away from my wife for three weeks.
He came to visit me once. We live in New
York City. It's not an easy trip. When I get
back from this gig only a few days before Christmas,
maybe I think even Christmas Eve. Maybe we're just gonna
stay in New York and we're gonna do get it.
And you can't you get mad about that. I can't
he get mad about that. And then you got young

(59:05):
Broderick who's married. I'm going to the in laws this time, uh,
and and he has in laws in Indiana. Okay, so
so you try, so you're trying to you help him, Mom,
we get through all this. And so this weekend had
been on the calendar. Hey, first weekend off. We're gonna

(59:25):
have Big Love come home from Atlanta, Young Broderick and
his bride, fantastic Blake and Priscilla. They can't get here,
but we're gonna have them. We're gonna do Christmas. And
you think she didn't have everything planned. Oh, we had plans, y'all.
Wouldn't believe the plans. We go to see White Christmas,

(59:46):
you know, at the Historic Theater on Friday night, and
then we get up and we have we have a
late breakfast together on the fourte It's just going great.

Speaker 3 (59:54):
It's going great.

Speaker 1 (59:55):
Uh, hey, we go play pickleball.

Speaker 3 (59:58):
No, you didn't play played pickle ball. It sure did.

Speaker 1 (01:00:02):
Played a little pickleball that seemed to go pretty well,
you know, tolerable at one point? Is it seems to happen.
I tend to be always accused of being overly competitive
in these type situations. We keep score well, and you know,
let's face it, the worst situation you can be in
is when the round comes that you and your wife

(01:00:23):
on the same team, you know, when you're rotating with
the other people, you know, really you think playing against
your wife is the worst case scenario. It really isn't,
because if they don't make a shot or something before
you can say anything like hey, you killing us, you know,
and and you just that goes what did you just say?

Speaker 6 (01:00:41):
That goes? Well?

Speaker 1 (01:00:42):
I said, I'm killing I'm killing it is killing me.
So anyway, everything's going great. We all go get coffee.
What's schedule for the evening. We're going to the zoo
to see the lights, and it's just we can get us.

Speaker 10 (01:00:57):
We get up.

Speaker 1 (01:00:57):
The next day, we all go into church together and
everybody can go back to It hates great until Saturday afternoon.
Everything about vacation changed when apparently Sherry was going out
to the backyard.

Speaker 3 (01:01:14):
I'm keeping around upstairs, you know, with the with the kids,
and you know.

Speaker 14 (01:01:18):
And.

Speaker 1 (01:01:20):
Wish I had known. Apparently I did not know, as
I've been reminded over the last three weeks, that my
wife fell down the steps go and it's only five steps.
But when she fell down the steps, she said foot
rolled or something. She hit she hit pavers, which because

(01:01:40):
of the time of year, there's no mulch in there,
so they're basically just jagged rocks. And she hits hits
the pavers. Now I don't know this because I'm upstairs
where she went. You go downstairs, out the bottom into
the backyard. I don't know that she's injured and can't
get up yucking it upup it is she yucky?

Speaker 3 (01:02:00):
Do where's my mom?

Speaker 1 (01:02:04):
And and and I don't and I don't know this,
but my wife is is in pain, needing help, and
and I do not help because I don't know. Okay,
I thought she was going out to get the fire
pit ready or something. I didn't know she loves a fire.

Speaker 6 (01:02:22):
And so.

Speaker 1 (01:02:24):
All of a sudden, almost like like I can only
put it this way because of the injury. You ever
seen these zombie.

Speaker 3 (01:02:33):
Movies and and and they're coming like oh yeah, oh yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:02:38):
You wonder how they catch anybody and kill them because
they don't move well and they get you those I finally,
I finally stopped keeping around with everybody and think to myself,
where's my wife? You know, it's been a long time
to the fire pit and here and and I walked
and she has somehow made herself up the steps and
she's like, I'm hurt.

Speaker 3 (01:02:56):
I'm hurting, and that's how she's walking, she's dragging it.

Speaker 1 (01:02:58):
Oh, yes, well there's a reason you're like, what why
are you doing? And my first thought, Look, I'm I'm
a burgess through and through, so my first thought and
a burgess, it's never a burgess's first thought, you're really
hurt bad.

Speaker 3 (01:03:13):
We never think that now. We always tape it up.

Speaker 1 (01:03:15):
Hey, we're good. Hey, we still going to zoo?

Speaker 3 (01:03:19):
And uh, and so can you go? Can you go?
And she's like, I'm hurt. I think I'm really hurt.

Speaker 1 (01:03:24):
And I'm thinking how long was she abandoned? We don't
really know the time period because it seems to be
growing every time it's told.

Speaker 3 (01:03:33):
But I was uncomfortable because I asked her that question,
as you did, and and her response was I was
out there for a minute. Nobody knew I was out
there laying down.

Speaker 1 (01:03:43):
Quote quote was she said there was a point she
could not get up and was hollering for me. Oh
red and uht's flash to where you're at. Yeah, are
you are you serious?

Speaker 6 (01:03:57):
You know?

Speaker 5 (01:03:59):
And uh?

Speaker 1 (01:04:00):
And so Clark, when we come back, I'll tell you
what happened next and I'm like, what does that sound like?

Speaker 3 (01:04:09):
That?

Speaker 1 (01:04:09):
I said, I can't stand in people across the street
to stupid dogs and uh. And I didn't know that
was a sound of pain. Yeah, I do now looking back,
remember hearing something, but I never thought it would be.
You know, Sherry is down right. So we'll be right back.

Speaker 2 (01:04:26):
I'll tell you what this is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (01:04:34):
Uh, and we'll spend again this hour.

Speaker 13 (01:04:37):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:04:37):
So be be paying attention. And I notice on the
text line. You know, I know that sometimes you we
all know out there. The beautiful thing about all these
different platforms is you can get a lot of information,
get a lot of feedback. Then the bad thing is
that people can show how stupid they are.

Speaker 13 (01:04:55):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:04:55):
And so somebody was texting, Oh, I see, y'all ain't
taking no calls.

Speaker 3 (01:05:00):
I ain't never heard of that.

Speaker 13 (01:05:01):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:05:02):
The caller that won in the very first hour today
was caller sixty. We're doing calls, and we're doing the
text option, and we're doing other things conspiracy theorist. But anyway,
so it's okay to say something and just try to
be just at least try to be factual.

Speaker 9 (01:05:18):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (01:05:19):
Well, so I see I ain't taking no calls? Why
is that.

Speaker 2 (01:05:23):
Hum?

Speaker 1 (01:05:24):
But anyway, text text only, that's weird.

Speaker 3 (01:05:27):
I ain't never heard of that.

Speaker 1 (01:05:29):
But anyway breaking, it's ground breaking. Yeah, okay, uh so
we ain't back to the story. So so anyway, so
Sherry has fallen.

Speaker 3 (01:05:38):
We don't know that.

Speaker 1 (01:05:39):
So me and and two sons and fantastic, I mean,
where we are.

Speaker 6 (01:05:45):
It's this.

Speaker 3 (01:05:48):
It's so good to get together and pick the ball.
That's not the movie is good man, that Bradtor is
great in the backyard, it's.

Speaker 1 (01:05:56):
And I don't have no clue. I have no idea.
So then when she finally makes your way up, I
don't know how she got up the steps, I have
no idea. She's a tough, strong woman, and I think
this is another example. So anyway, you know though, but
I'm a burgess. So as soon as she says, I
don't know what happened, I lost my foot and go
down those steps and now I fell, and da da
da da. All you fine, let me see, let me

(01:06:18):
see what's going on? Oh, I said, sprained ankle. I said,
I've had a.

Speaker 3 (01:06:23):
Million of those. You know, you love that guy.

Speaker 1 (01:06:26):
They're supposed to be helping you to quick to say
it to you. And I was that guy I sprained ankle?

Speaker 6 (01:06:32):
What that is?

Speaker 1 (01:06:33):
I said, so bad? All we can do, honey, is
just I said, and didn't go to zood nut? And uh,
I said, And then and then you know, then you
have her children, you know, and her daughter in law going.

Speaker 3 (01:06:43):
You know, do you think maybe you should take her
to the hospital? Nah? Nah?

Speaker 1 (01:06:49):
So I looked down at our party. I said that
right there, that right there is a sprained ankle. I said, look,
mama got sprained ankle. But we still going to this
and we're gonna do this and do that. And you know,
in my first thought, which it should have been my
first thought, hey, she's actually put together the suny school lesson.
Is that gonna be on me now, you know? But anyway, so,

(01:07:09):
but but so we're we're we're looking and and and
thank good. I hate to be thankful for a cut,
but for her, she should be thankful. I looked over
at the other knee. And when I looked at the
other knee, if you ever had somebody was cut so
bad that it's not even bleeding.

Speaker 3 (01:07:28):
Oh deep. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:07:29):
And I look over and I see nothing but like
white kneat. No, no, just not even hardly any blood
at all. And as soon as I saw that, I said, well,
everything's changing. I said, you're going to mom, I'm going
to have stitch, going to have stitches. Of course, Shery
always says a stitch. I say, stitches. I've talked to
you about that before. What is that some kind of
Marshall county. Marshall County, I always say, we got to

(01:07:53):
have stitches.

Speaker 6 (01:07:54):
Ches.

Speaker 1 (01:07:54):
I said, oh, Mom's gotta have stitches. And then everybody's like,
what does that mean? It means we gotta go, We
got to take you to hospital. Well it's a good
thing that I took her to the hospital since the
doctors came out and said, you realize your wife has
broken her foot and I was like, what you said?
I said, that's a springed ankle. They said, no, she
has a sprained ankle. Doctor Burgess, nice catch on that.

(01:08:19):
But she also has broken the fifth meta tarsal. She's
broken her foot when her foot went under her. Apparently
either the ankle or the foot was going to break.
Be glad it was the foot, not the ankle. The
ankle is sprained, but the foot is broken and she's
gonna have to have stitches.

Speaker 3 (01:08:35):
Well, I said, I know, but stitch. Everybody back off.
I made that call. So so here here's that. You
have the picture I sent you out I do. It's
a boot.

Speaker 1 (01:08:46):
So here here's the great They put her.

Speaker 3 (01:08:48):
In this boot. Well they'll boot people look at that boot.

Speaker 1 (01:08:51):
So now basically you're married to a storm trooper, okay,
and you and I know, I know, my thoughts should
out of being how would this impact my vacation? And
you know the first thing that craft in my mind,
we're supposed to go hunting next week? Oh Rick, not
the summit? Yeah, I mean the business summit that was?

(01:09:12):
That was that camp House episode one a YouTube channel
after the show.

Speaker 3 (01:09:15):
Does that's not you with gloves on, like you're gonna
be a doctor?

Speaker 1 (01:09:17):
No, that's that's something that's actually that's some doctor thinks
they know what his brain. But anyway, so you don't
know about eyes. So so you start thinking how would
this and it shouldn't be what you think, how will
this affect our lives? And then and then I jumped
to things like I started answering as if I was
the patient, and that did not go overwhelm by the way, Uh,

(01:09:39):
missus Burgess, you think you think you need crutches, that
we don't need crutches, and then they just will look,
they're looking at our I said, we got the boot,
don't we And they said, well, you know, luckily it
looks like that the break was clean. So the boot
as long as it are holding in place. But she
she may need crutches because it just happened, and she
might need crutches for certain things she would be doing. Said,

(01:10:00):
don't need crutches because you know what I think crutches
means I may not be hunting, you know, because you
know what I you know, I start thinking about because
I'm incredibly compassionate. How independent will she be?

Speaker 12 (01:10:10):
Right?

Speaker 8 (01:10:11):
You know?

Speaker 1 (01:10:12):
Can I leave yourself? That's the question, right, And so
did you get to the refrigeration? The number one question
is is she independent enough that I still hunt? But anyway,
so are have the business? Sing your second deer picture? Hey, look,
then I start bringing up then I start bringing up
our livelihood. I said, you know, we got to have
that business summit, no matter what I mean, that's important.
That's what we're gonna meet and talk about stuff we're gonna.

Speaker 6 (01:10:33):
Be doing there.

Speaker 1 (01:10:33):
Running you wouldn't have had the will of bundle bits
and bucks without it. So anyway, so she she has
gotten and then you hear this terrible thing in the distance.
Oh worse is six weeks, I said, six weeks.

Speaker 3 (01:10:47):
They always go. Now, we always were going all the
way into Jaiu.

Speaker 1 (01:10:49):
I always yeah, And so I thought, everything that's Sherry
is really independent. We did have the business summit. She's
doing fine with the boot except for one thing. Now
I should be concerned about how it's affecting her.

Speaker 6 (01:11:04):
I got that.

Speaker 3 (01:11:05):
Okay, do you realize how loud the velcrow is on
these boots? Heavy? That's for sure. So what happens is,
so what happens? You're sound asleep? Sound asleep?

Speaker 1 (01:11:21):
Okay, Now I should just be happy that my wife
can get up and go to the restroom on her own.
She doesn't sleep in the boot, but she has to
put the boot on to go to the restroom, then
take the boot back off to get in the bell. Oh,
so here's what's happened. I mean, I had it. I
don't know what the cast of friends was doing in
the dream, but I was.

Speaker 6 (01:11:37):
I mean, I was. This is me.

Speaker 1 (01:11:39):
I'll be deep in the dreams sleeping. What's and that's
that velrow. It is so loud, it's like it's got
a microphone on it. And and and I'm just like,
what's happening? And uh, and it's that stupid velcrow. So
there's what However many times she has to get up
in the night I'm away, she say anything, She didn't

(01:12:03):
say a word.

Speaker 3 (01:12:04):
Just just picture the darkness. What's what's happening?

Speaker 9 (01:12:12):
Where is he?

Speaker 1 (01:12:13):
I mean, I know it's not possible that that velcrow
is amped, but it feels like it's got a sound system.
And that's still going on.

Speaker 3 (01:12:22):
Guys, Hey, I went on a few minutes ago. Are
you used to it by that?

Speaker 14 (01:12:27):
No?

Speaker 4 (01:12:32):
So sorry, your wife broke her feet. She's having to
wear a boot and it's inconveniencing you.

Speaker 3 (01:12:36):
Right, we got a new show. We got.

Speaker 2 (01:12:44):
Right, this is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (01:12:53):
Uh And as far as the show has it, how
it rolls out, this is our three. So before we're done,
another person is going to get an opportunity to have
your pick whoever you want to spend now. Now Greg
has the hot hand today is he's already spun five
hundred dollars on the wheel of bundle bits and bucks and.

Speaker 3 (01:13:14):
Rock and roll City. So which is worth my goodness?
Ye who knowsless?

Speaker 1 (01:13:19):
So anyway, somebody else gets a chance before we're done,
so be paying attention for that. I also want to
remind you that if you did not join the over
two million people that joined the Association of Mature American
Citizens in twenty twenty four, you need to go do

(01:14:43):
dot com. All right, so we're kicking around vacation stories
and Christmas and holidays. We've got a lot of those
to do today. Dicky Nadmeyer will be checking in before
the day is over. So, Adler, you are the only
one that Grace got the grandkid, Speedy's got the grand kid,
but you actually have children that are still that magical

(01:15:05):
age when it comes to this time of year. I
think I saw you over the break when we were
up here working a little bit, and the word that
I used was wonderful chaos.

Speaker 3 (01:15:18):
It is that accurate.

Speaker 4 (01:15:18):
Absolutely, it's it's mania. I got a one year old
son and a four year old daughter and it's just Christmas.
We had actually three Christmases. We have Christmas at our house,
Christmas at Aaron's parents house, and then Christmas at my
house one day, so literally three different Christmases. Wow, funny
story from from the break I've got Actually I am

(01:15:42):
headed to Christmas on Christmas Eve or I'm headed to
church on Christmas Eve, going to the candle light service.

Speaker 1 (01:15:49):
Gonna go, gotta do the candle light not the best
for small kids, but yeah, right, tough fire. They hand
you fire, They literally hand you fire.

Speaker 4 (01:15:59):
And it was actually just me and Ruby. Ezra had
some green stuff going on. We're like, well, we'll just
see how he's doing. We'll leave him home. So it's
just me and Ruby, me and the four year old daughter,
and we are headed to church. And earlier that day,
I had been taking care of stuff around the house
and I have a pair of shoes that are my

(01:16:22):
working in the yard shoes. Case case case you stepping something. Sure,
grass stains, yes, any of that. These shoes are the
worst shoes that anyone has ever worn. Like homeless people
would be embarrassed. Yes, tread. The tread is literally dangling

(01:16:44):
off of it, like in strings off the tread of
the bottom. But they're great because you can just like
you can just throw them on not worry about anything.

Speaker 3 (01:16:51):
Probably features a little dried animal dung.

Speaker 4 (01:16:53):
Yes, So I am rushing. I'm rushing to get ready
for a Christmas Eve church, and you I was in
a rush, and I am walking in with Ruby, who's
dressed in a very nice Christmas precious, precious shoes. And
I take the first step onto the curb to walk

(01:17:14):
up to the church, and I look down and I'm
wearing those shoes. I'm wearing my landscaping. The tread is
hanging off. I look like a homeless man.

Speaker 6 (01:17:27):
Yo.

Speaker 4 (01:17:27):
People, I'm walking in with this little girl, and people
are like, oh my goodness, do we need to lay
the money down? Is this like a Christmas shoes type situation?

Speaker 3 (01:17:36):
Tournament are getting Ruby off to the side. Is you
your daddy? Right?

Speaker 9 (01:17:40):
Do you know me?

Speaker 1 (01:17:41):
Man?

Speaker 4 (01:17:42):
And so I'm moll these shoes like Christmas shoes type situation.

Speaker 3 (01:17:47):
Some reason I want to know is your hair up
or down? That means a lot to me right now.

Speaker 4 (01:17:50):
It was I think it was up.

Speaker 3 (01:17:51):
Okay, yeah it's down. We've had somebody's nap.

Speaker 4 (01:17:54):
The child, ye looks like any He's in a van
of a big, very black van, you know, so different.
So that was that was my I just had to
go through it just to be like, yeah, I'm here,
I'm here, Okay.

Speaker 3 (01:18:10):
They do they smell like grass and and like so
when you sat down in church, could you smell your shoes.

Speaker 4 (01:18:16):
They were comically bad. The shoes were comically bad. Wow,
and uh so, yeah, that was that was an interesting
story turning bad. No, I was there, I was late.

Speaker 3 (01:18:27):
I'm not.

Speaker 4 (01:18:27):
I don't have time to go home late.

Speaker 3 (01:18:30):
That explains why they keeps putting that twenty in your hand. Right,
So that laid down money and.

Speaker 4 (01:18:36):
Uh I got through the candle lighting, no problem, no fire,
no fire, no problem.

Speaker 3 (01:18:42):
The grass your shoes didn't catch, but didn't have your
shoes at all.

Speaker 4 (01:18:46):
Lord's supper.

Speaker 6 (01:18:46):
Hard.

Speaker 4 (01:18:47):
Hard to explain that to a four year old little girl, real,
real difficult. In fact, when I didn't offer her some
she got mad, don't understand. And then I did offer something,
she said that she didn't want it, so, you know,
hard to make her. That's fine, I'm fine. I'm a
homeless man.

Speaker 1 (01:19:04):
If you think it's creepy for a little kid at
the Baptist church, be at the Catholic church and tell
him about it.

Speaker 8 (01:19:09):
Right.

Speaker 4 (01:19:11):
I am a little bit cons Oh, they were so bad.
I am concerned my one year old and it was
it was magical. We we you know the amount of
plastic that we are contributing to landfills. After this Christmas is.
I mean, I should be fined for the amount of
plastic that's gonna end up from my house in landfills.

Speaker 14 (01:19:31):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (01:19:32):
But I am concerned a little bit that my one
year old thinks that Christmas is about the birth of
Elmo and not the birth of Jesus.

Speaker 3 (01:19:40):
That he is, he's in his Elmo phase right now.

Speaker 4 (01:19:47):
Yes, in fact, uh, let's see if I must still
playing music, I am let'n kill that music. Here is uh,
here's as Ezra. That is in his he's got his
Almo shoes on. That's that's he's foot I'm sorry, yeah,
so here here is uh he's talking about Actually he

(01:20:09):
figured out there's an echo in our stairs, but here.

Speaker 3 (01:20:11):
Is in his shoes.

Speaker 2 (01:20:16):
Oh my god.

Speaker 3 (01:20:16):
Look so he figured out the echo in the that's good.
So he thinks this baby Elmo and the major.

Speaker 4 (01:20:28):
Well, we were working working on it. There were so
many Elmo things. I think he thought this was a
celebration of Elmo.

Speaker 3 (01:20:35):
Okay, so but man, any chance taking their slippers off him.

Speaker 4 (01:20:39):
He was initially scared of him, like he was like
put feet, yeah, my feet in somebody's hand.

Speaker 3 (01:20:48):
Yeah, And you thought he was gonna be so excited,
but then he.

Speaker 4 (01:20:54):
So Yeah, the next day he got into him and
now he has not taken the almost shoes off. Okay, yeah,
and I've heard the word Elmo shoes about one hundred times.
Everything is uh, he's learned how to talk. You guys
heard him there. Everything is beach Apple's nose right now.
Beach is any kind of geographic thing at all, like beach, beach, beach.

(01:21:15):
I'm like, buddy, that's the hill on the side of
the interstate. That's not a beach. Okay, you don't know
what a beach is. Evidently, Apples is every kind of
Christmas ornament because you can see how it's it's miss
you know, it's apple on a tree in the ornament.
I'm like, please, don't stop eating. Stop eating that that
is that is a plastic ball off of our tree.

Speaker 3 (01:21:35):
Please.

Speaker 4 (01:21:37):
Nose is anyone with a nose. He likes to point
out anytime anyone new comes into a room that they do,
in fact.

Speaker 3 (01:21:46):
Have a nose. Yeah, they're self conscious anyway looking at
You don't know why. But it was magic.

Speaker 2 (01:21:55):
Oh, it was great.

Speaker 4 (01:21:56):
It was fantastic. Except all my Christmas I bought everything.
I guess three years ago all of my lights, my trees, everything.
I guess we just did that because everything is now
going out. I'm like, okay, that has a string out,
that has.

Speaker 3 (01:22:10):
A whole dreams three. You did good?

Speaker 4 (01:22:12):
Okay, Well, I guess so because everything's fading like the
energy inside of my body.

Speaker 1 (01:22:18):
Yeah, you're a little I mean we talked about this before.
You're in the mode now where honestly, going back.

Speaker 3 (01:22:25):
To work is where you go to wrist yo.

Speaker 6 (01:22:27):
Yes, the fact.

Speaker 1 (01:22:28):
Yeah, I mean, you know, it's not even a funny
thing to say, it's it's true, it is. I can't
wait to get back to work where I can rist
I woke.

Speaker 4 (01:22:36):
I walked a kid back to their bed at least
four times last night.

Speaker 6 (01:22:40):
I hurt.

Speaker 3 (01:22:41):
That hurts. So I needed it so bad.

Speaker 4 (01:22:43):
I was up here till seven. Oh yeah, I got
up here real early.

Speaker 3 (01:22:47):
Yeah, so you know, go home to take a nap,
come back.

Speaker 4 (01:22:51):
Yeah, there you go.

Speaker 6 (01:22:52):
Sure.

Speaker 4 (01:22:52):
But it was a great It was great season, and
I'm glad to be back here with you guys.

Speaker 1 (01:22:56):
Yeah, all right, we'll be back more. The Rick Burgess
Show coming up.

Speaker 3 (01:22:59):
Right after this.

Speaker 2 (01:23:01):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (01:23:08):
So we've kind of given you a tour of the
you know, revamped studio things. We're going to be doing
the fund that is ahead and current. Don't forget today
we do have our first documentary, the Camp House Business Summit,
Episode one. Look for that on the YouTube channel today
and enjoy that. Look for more content continuing and we'll

(01:23:32):
keep rolling out more episodes of that, but then we'll
do some other stuff. Definitely plan to do that a
good bit, all right. So one of the things that's
kind of been really really popular, and we've done it
every hour is what's better than a will of meat,
that'd be a will of money? It is the will
of bundles, bits and bucks.

Speaker 3 (01:23:57):
How about some money? Why about not money? Money money, money.

Speaker 6 (01:24:03):
Money, money, come on with it.

Speaker 1 (01:24:09):
So we've had two people already win today, one by
phone call, uh, and that was they did not win money,
but it landed on Rock and Roll City. So the
member of the will has bits on it, It has bundles,
which is either rick and Bubba store, and then it has.

Speaker 3 (01:24:25):
Bugs, which is money. Yeah yeah, what B, B and
B thank you?

Speaker 13 (01:24:30):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:24:30):
And so so it's there, uh. And then we had
somebody win by text by answering the question right about
Greg's grandkids, which we'll get to about that Christmas Eve
in the family beach trip coming up. So now we're
back to calls again. Here's the new number if you
don't know it, eight eight eight six big box. That's
also the same one to text with as well. But

(01:24:51):
now we're calling.

Speaker 3 (01:24:52):
So we did we did sixty hour one. What do
you think?

Speaker 6 (01:24:56):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (01:24:57):
What are you thinking right now?

Speaker 4 (01:24:58):
A lot of counting?

Speaker 8 (01:24:59):
Four?

Speaker 3 (01:24:59):
That was a four?

Speaker 14 (01:25:01):
What?

Speaker 6 (01:25:02):
Just four?

Speaker 4 (01:25:02):
What what's half of sixty?

Speaker 3 (01:25:05):
That'd be thirty thirty? Idler?

Speaker 1 (01:25:07):
That might work?

Speaker 3 (01:25:08):
Okay, okay, can I ask a will a technical question?
All right? So Rock and Roll City that's been one today?
Does that mean that's off the board?

Speaker 6 (01:25:17):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:25:18):
Or does that mean that somebody killing out? If that's
the case, five hundreds off the board? Well, but we
have another five hundred we got two swap Yeah, No,
I don't think anything. So everything because they could win
that again?

Speaker 1 (01:25:26):
Yeah, okay, good, I mean we're only spending one time
where there's sixteen slots on the wheel, we could do sixteen.
All right, let's do that, all right, Collars, that's pretty good.

Speaker 3 (01:25:35):
I just count what you mean? Hallay? I said by Greg?

Speaker 1 (01:25:41):
Now that's right by the way. I've noticed each other.
Look at hell, I've noticed on the texting option. We
also have new basketball goals in here. Yeah, and everybody's
watching every time y'all shoot in the break to see
how well you a I'm not doing.

Speaker 3 (01:25:54):
They have you at seventy eight out of ninety five?
Did you take it? Did you shoot that? I mean

Speaker 4 (01:26:00):

Speaker 3 (01:26:02):
He's actually the one. Wait a minute, is that your number? Greg?
They've got you five out of twenty.

Speaker 3 (01:27:12):
He really is got the hot hand.

Speaker 2 (01:27:15):
Uh, let's go.

Speaker 8 (01:27:28):
Five hundred dollars Christy for you, Rick, you better ban
me from spending. I'm hot today. We will have a
dime left?

Speaker 3 (01:27:40):
Yes, whoa?

Speaker 1 (01:27:42):
Okay, going through the money budget?

Speaker 3 (01:27:43):
Look quick, tick wow, do it one day? I expecting that?

Speaker 9 (01:27:50):
All right? Good?

Speaker 6 (01:27:51):
Anight?

Speaker 13 (01:27:52):
So?

Speaker 1 (01:27:52):
Uh Christie, I guess since you're in Spartanburg, are you
a tuber or a streamer?

Speaker 3 (01:27:57):
How do you get the show? Uh?

Speaker 9 (01:27:59):
You two?

Speaker 10 (01:28:00):
Absolutely?

Speaker 3 (01:28:01):
So what do you think about the makeover of the studio?

Speaker 6 (01:28:04):
Oh?

Speaker 12 (01:28:05):
I love it right well?

Speaker 10 (01:28:06):
The color choices looking looking nice out there?

Speaker 6 (01:28:08):
All right?

Speaker 3 (01:28:09):
Well all right, Christian, Well we'll put your on hold.
How many dogs you got there? How many dogs you
got there? Just too.

Speaker 6 (01:28:17):
Well?

Speaker 1 (01:28:17):
Mama has won something that won five hundred dollars all right,
so we'll put you on hold, we'll get all your
information and then you'll get a check from Big Box Entertainment.
Come into Spartanburg, South Carolina. Thank you, I appreciate that.
All right, let's put you on there.

Speaker 3 (01:28:31):
Greck, I'm on fire. You're go ahead to bench me
you good night.

Speaker 1 (01:28:34):
Greg, you got the hot Do you see how close
those of you that couldn't see it. That's twice I'm
talking about. It almost landed on the Blaze TV subscription.
I'm talking about Greg just stood there and that thing
barely clipped on to five hundred bucks.

Speaker 6 (01:28:48):
It did.

Speaker 3 (01:28:48):
It was got that touch. Yeah, you do good at basketball?
It was good at that all right.

Speaker 1 (01:28:55):
So I've been paying attention to this new basketball go through.
Did and was he because he was the proponent for it? Well,
he has one, That's what I mean.

Speaker 6 (01:29:04):
Is this his thing?

Speaker 3 (01:29:06):
Yes, it is, scam.

Speaker 1 (01:29:07):
I'm put this in here so I can do this
better than the guy I've.

Speaker 4 (01:29:11):
Been practicing at home thinking about y'all, like, yes, he's
gonna never catch up with me. I'm too far ahead now.
I want y'all everybody to know there's no amount of
time y'all can practice this basketball thing.

Speaker 3 (01:29:22):
I'm too far ahead.

Speaker 14 (01:29:24):
Okay in the game, which reminds basketball because you're known
for it, which reminds me I too have I'm working
on a little something and if I get good at it,
I'm gonna bring it here and challenge everybody else.

Speaker 1 (01:29:36):
Oh really hard, though, it's really hard. I've been trying
to get it over, putting more physically, almost like the
basketball thing.

Speaker 3 (01:29:45):
But physically it's something you do.

Speaker 4 (01:29:48):
Are we punching?

Speaker 1 (01:29:51):
By the way, By the way, speaking of.

Speaker 3 (01:29:55):
Have y'all seen the red ball? Oh yeah, yeah, oh yeah,
RFK Junior. Hey hard hard to do?

Speaker 6 (01:30:03):
You have one?

Speaker 3 (01:30:04):
Yes, we took it. We took to at least bought
it for the beach vacation. Thought the kids might like it.

Speaker 1 (01:30:09):
Of course they couldn't do it, but you alsodd. I look,
Mary Hollis had it on. She's she's not even.

Speaker 3 (01:30:17):
That little Harman so but the kids loved it. But
but you won't do it til you get better. I'm
gonna take you this. It's it's difficult. And that coordination, yeah,
that left my dang left just killing it. Let your
left is all messed up, you remember, I know.

Speaker 1 (01:30:32):
But anyway, I'm practicing before I bring it there because
I won't be the best one at it.

Speaker 4 (01:30:36):
That's a good plan. That's what I'm doing with the basketball.

Speaker 1 (01:30:38):
Okay, by the way, in the break, I'm going best
out of teen I mean basketball.

Speaker 3 (01:30:44):
A lot of talks in there. Yeah, I mean, I.

Speaker 1 (01:30:46):
Mean a lot of talk, all right, but I mean
I'm bit nervous.

Speaker 4 (01:30:50):
And now that doesn't count.

Speaker 3 (01:30:51):
So this thing has you can turn it on. It
has noise and everything. Okay, yeah I never turned it on. Yeah,
I don't know how.

Speaker 1 (01:30:59):
If you leaving us any part of the show you miss,
the daily archives are there on the YouTube channel or
the podcast channel. If you're staying with us, we go
Christmas Eve, Greg and Lee Lee Pop and leely hosted
hosted this year. You forgot it and we'll talk about
that when The Rick Burgess Show continues right after this.

Speaker 2 (01:31:20):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, Fox Entertained, but plese
AM's The Rick Burgess Show with Speedy, Greg Burgess, Edie
van Idler and Rick.

Speaker 1 (01:31:41):
Thank you, Ken, We're ready to go. It is a
brand new hour and again this hour, somebody gonna get
a chance to have one of the guys here on
the show, and the real Greg Burgess. He's got the
hot hand right now, watch it on the wonderful will
of bundles, bits and bucks. What's better than can meet money.
If you want to win money, pick me money. So

(01:32:03):
what we've had, we've we've done it three times.

Speaker 6 (01:32:05):
Now.

Speaker 1 (01:32:05):
We're gonna not gonna do it every hour obviously because
we'll all go broke. Uh, but we're going to continue
to do it down fact. But for the kickoff, it's
every hour, and we've already given away five hundred dollars
to two different people in Rockel City jam. So, so
it's it's a hot hand, uh, and somebody else will
get another chance this hour. So we've been recapping uh

(01:32:25):
and hopefully updating you new website, Rick burgesshow dot com.
The store is operating if you want to get some
of the new swag. We got some cool stuff there.
You know, everybody except Speedy really really seems to really
like it.

Speaker 13 (01:32:38):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:32:38):
You know that, by the way, that hurt just a
little bit. Yeah, it's hurt me so much. I was
so excited I ordered from the store. I said, Hey,
I'd love to give everybody on the show. You a mug,
a T shirt, a sweatshirt like I'm wearing a hat, uh,
and I think there was even something else, wasn't there.

Speaker 3 (01:32:58):
Let's see is that agin? Oh? Yeah, a beanie? A beanie.
I had a coffee mug you stolen? Yeah, but no,
I just got to hear. Mine's in the breakroom. Don't
anybody take it?

Speaker 1 (01:33:07):
I left it in there, and okay, so anyway, and
and so I even sentat a little text. Remember my
little text. Yeah, hey guys, everybody's got Yeah, everybody's got
little something on their desk.

Speaker 6 (01:33:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:33:18):
I was fired up. I knew it.

Speaker 1 (01:33:19):
I didn't know detail, but I knew ahead to be
some sort. So I popped by to work with the
new equipment a little bit yesterday, and I look over
on one of the box seats and their speedy stuff.

Speaker 3 (01:33:32):
He loved it. He took it out of his audience
and then left it in a chair. Yeah, you didn't
want to flutter up your office. I tried to get
in front of it because I was proud of it,
and thank you. And I when I got home to
get out of the truck and go in, I was
so excited to take it into show terry. And I
looked back there and I went you and I left
it sitting in one of the box seats on the

(01:33:54):
way out, and I just had stuff in my hands
and I forgot So I tried to get ahead of
it and text the group and I said, hey, I
love God. I folded it all up. He was ready
to go the bus.

Speaker 1 (01:34:04):
You know what, you know what I thought of in
the story, either that story story either later today or
sometime this week. We'll get to it. If we don't
get to it today. My first thought, you know what,
my first thought was, he's mad about the truck.

Speaker 3 (01:34:19):
Well, we do need to talk. We'll get we'll get
to that boy.

Speaker 1 (01:34:22):
So anyway, uh, let's go back back to the Burgess family.
We're bouncing around. We'll get to the Wilburns too. We're
bouncing around. So it's been so long ago, it's hard
to do, it's hard to remember. But anyway, so when
our mother and father, I'm talking about Greg now, our
mother and father, it was it was standard even when
you like you tried to even tell people you know

(01:34:44):
in your family when they became adults and getting married
and all that, Hey, Christmas Eve, and it's not sustainable.
I mean, they have to do things with their new
in laws too. Christmas Eve has always kind of been
the burgess's gathering. And and so, you know, we don't
do Christmas Day, but we do Christmas Eve, and mom
and Dad hosted that for.

Speaker 3 (01:35:03):
Oh ever, since our kids were a little till so.

Speaker 1 (01:35:06):
I've hosted once, You've hosted once, and then Chandler hosted once,
so up to three years ago that they were still hosting,
and of course they got to where they couldn't. Of
course Dad's passed on now. So anyway, so we want
to keep these traditions going. And so and I felt
so bad. I don't Hey, Lely, I love you, my
my my sister in law. I mean, you're you're so

(01:35:29):
we're just wonderful. But I just know, because I'm married
to one two when you're hosting, oh yeah, woe to
the husband. Whoa woe to the husband, got to get
everything ready and you're hosting Christmas Eve, that's a big year.
I mean, that's that's the show. Yeah, I mean, I
mean in our family, that's the show. When that's when
you're called to the big leagues with with five trees up,

(01:35:51):
Oh my god. Then just stuff I'd never seen. I
don't know where it came from. And uh, I mean
it like a Hallmark special when you walked in. But
you got to me at that big tree. How about
that thing that I crushed and and and really showed myself.
But it ended up nice. All all the years it
didn't start out to all the years of you talking
about this tree.

Speaker 3 (01:36:12):
I had it. I had it undersized.

Speaker 1 (01:36:14):
Yeah, when when I when I and I and I
even tried to call this because I know, because I'm
married to a woman who who is a host. You know,
we all when you're the host family. Everybody wanted to
pull around and me go in the back door. I said,
we don't need to go in the back door. Well,
Sherry had a boot on. I know Shery had a
boot on. Because you now we're injured, speedy love this.
I had to put the dogs up, right, did you

(01:36:35):
know they had been scrasching everbody's car up everything, you know,
they blight and tires.

Speaker 3 (01:36:39):
Yeah, so jump up on side of it. So and
that was a quicker route. But I said, and was correct.
I said, Lisa wantss coming in that front door. Yes,
everything was geared through the front everything's geared through the
front door. We can't do this. And then basically she
said y'all got to go around. So I look here
from the whole crowd walking around.

Speaker 1 (01:36:54):
And the only bad part everything went perfect is Ellis
had the flu straight he ran high fever for like
a week.

Speaker 6 (01:37:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:37:02):
We were waiting on Marion to get it, which she
never did, so they couldn't come to the gathering. Taylor
and Kelsey and Mareon and Ellis couldn't come. Now, they
did end up going to the beach, which was great,
but that would have been perfect if we could have
had that.

Speaker 3 (01:37:14):
The only fact we didn't get it's hard to get
everybody there now. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:37:16):
And of course then and Brody was off in Indiana. Yeah,
you know, it's so we we we scrounged up enough
of us.

Speaker 3 (01:37:23):
But the food was phenomenal. Uh we there there.

Speaker 1 (01:37:29):
I think there's probably gonna be a point where somebody
it might be RFK Junior. Okay, Okay, that's gonna outlaw
Leele's coffee.

Speaker 3 (01:37:39):
Punch that stuff. Yeah, if you if you want healthy,
just take healthy and put that out the door. What
would he say about it?

Speaker 1 (01:37:46):
I think what we want to get rid of that
red Let me tell you that coffee and what it
is is how she holds it so we've already eaten
so much. Yeah, were full, and then we bring the
coffee punch, and then the coffee punch comes out and
it always makes your head tickle just a little bit,
and you're just kind of like, I'm too far.

Speaker 3 (01:38:03):
We had somebody hauled off in the ambulance one year.
It took somebody, I mean that, and then it took
nearly to Lisa's dad. He had that. They had to
go to the mercery. Yeah, that's a really funny story.
I know it didn't sound like it, but he was.
He was fine. He sends past but this, Yeah, I'll
tell it later, but it's a funny story tied to that.

Speaker 1 (01:38:22):
But well, not to get off subject, but it was.
But it went great, and I thought, you know, the
fellowship was great, the weather was a great day.

Speaker 6 (01:38:30):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (01:38:30):
That about Lisa's twist on the Dirty Center, I like
that a lot. Give give it to me, Okay, I
like that a lot. It's Bingo Dirty Center. So you
got to get get the Bengo cards down.

Speaker 1 (01:38:40):
We even got one him crankers with the little Bingo
balls with the numbers on it, and whoever you know,
Bingo's first gets first pick and then and we don't
clear the cards every time somebody wins, because if you
do it take for right, because once it's the one
start winning, then his falls. But you that's how you
instead of drawing a number to when you pick, you
had to get bingo. That's not bad and got called down.
As you remember, when Dad was still alive, I caused

(01:39:04):
the ruckus at the Memory care for so did by
saying people were cheating. Yeah, and uh, of course I
wanted us to check and see because you've got that
little yeah, yeah, Rick, that's completely it's a little different here, right.

Speaker 3 (01:39:17):
Well, I thought that was a good twist. At one time.

Speaker 1 (01:39:19):
I thought Cessy was cheating very I think she may
have been. Yeah, but look I went to Leeleigh, who
was in charge. Did you call R six?

Speaker 3 (01:39:28):
Straight up? What did not are?

Speaker 1 (01:39:30):
Okay, there's not a hard did you call six?

Speaker 13 (01:39:34):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (01:39:34):
And I didn't think she did. You know, you had
that little thing that you you go by, she had
it covered, she did. I think she saw something she
wanted to steal.

Speaker 6 (01:39:42):
She went for it.

Speaker 3 (01:39:42):
But that's fine, I mean, more power to her.

Speaker 6 (01:39:45):
Right.

Speaker 3 (01:39:45):
So we had that and but this this party, it
was the punch list that almost killed Greg man because
every day he was going home to something else to know.
Did anybody even go upstairs? No, that was off limits.
It was still on the structs. Okay, where you were worried.
Now that's still we're in the middle of doing some
different things and that that part not it's finished. Let

(01:40:06):
me tell you wonder land downstairs, winter your house still up? Hey,
still up?

Speaker 1 (01:40:11):
Still turned on? She's you know, at least it said that,
she goes. We were going five days. That's five days
we could have looked at it. We're gonna make up
for that, right, so we can look at it. And
we went to all this trouble, then we might as
well look at it at least to the end of
the month.

Speaker 7 (01:40:23):
Right.

Speaker 1 (01:40:24):
Let me tell you what you're going to discover, because
we took hours down Friday.

Speaker 3 (01:40:28):
What was Friday? What was Friday?

Speaker 6 (01:40:30):
Uh the third?

Speaker 1 (01:40:32):
You'll never forget it. And uh so so we we
we were taking it down. And you know what I
thought about when I was up in these trees, because
we have to have real trees, and I was trying
to get the lights that had been wrapped around under this,
I thought to myself Christmas decorations. And then why while
we continue to do it is the same reason people

(01:40:52):
continue to have babies. You forget about it, you do,
you forget the pain, you forget the agony, and you
say we'll do this again. But while you're taking it down,
you're saying, I'll never do this ever, never, ever, never
would I do this again ever. We started taking ours
down at eight thirty am and we finished at eight
thirty nine pm. All the Christmas wonderland and two real

(01:41:16):
trees and lights around every limb, so many Christmas ornaments.

Speaker 3 (01:41:20):
Where do these even come from? They all have special meaning.
I got somebody even put out. I got something. You're
telling me this trout has special meaning? What's this trout?

Speaker 6 (01:41:28):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:41:29):
Well you member that time y'all to put trout and
pine us And we haven't done that in fifteen years.
Goofy and a son of hat tried something different with
my our Christmas trees that I've never tried before. I know,
we don't have time now. At some point we pulled
it off. But the story of the Christmas tree, that's
always been a discussion.

Speaker 1 (01:41:44):
Oh that's what listen, spity. I fell to the cleland
twice because of it. But Greg, your house was so beautiful.
He's got a nice Oh yeah, I mean Greg, No,
it was beautiful.

Speaker 3 (01:41:55):
Yeah. I made sure everybody saw the mult because nobody
nobody care about it.

Speaker 1 (01:41:58):
No, And I made sure they cared about it because
you saw that twenty bags I had in the back
of the side of the second round. Yeah, but everybody
was walking by, they weren't noticing the monk.

Speaker 3 (01:42:06):
I find it right now. It's hard, got to go.
What's left. You'll get a look by the way, and
you say about that mulch. But anyway, it went great
and we enjoyed.

Speaker 2 (01:42:14):
It is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (01:42:20):
We're talking about Christmas even and then we'll get some
phone calls with you too. We're going to hear from
the Wilburns and what happened there, and then we'll try
to find out what some of your traditions are and
maybe what you did, because we haven't talked to each
other since the holidays. So one of the things while
we were there, and you and Lisa were outstanding host
and hostess. It was a wonderful day for the entire family.

(01:42:41):
I know it came with a lot of work and
nearly killed you, and so thank you for that. So
you know I'm still and I can tell that my
two sons that are married, they've only been married a
little over a year, they sensed the pressure when they're
around me. I'm like, hey, Speedy's got a grandson, Greg's
got four grandkids. I'm older than both of them. How

(01:43:06):
much don't y'all think I'm gonna be around?

Speaker 6 (01:43:08):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:43:09):
So anyway, I try not to dominate Greg's grandkids because
they're his. There. You know, I'm a I'm a great uncle.
But it's not the same thing, man. Look, yeah, I know,
but I come in a little hot sometimes because I
just love him some dang much. But so and and
I'm willing, you know, to basically there. Like I said before,
a great uncle has less responsibility, yeah than a grandfather.

Speaker 3 (01:43:31):
Oh, absolutely sure, I don't have any at all.

Speaker 1 (01:43:33):
I mean yeah, yeah, so Greg has the grandkids, and
I had a blast with him at Thanksgiving and all that.
But you know there's one that's been a little bashful
and he's really coming out of his shell, and that's
Pistol Pace Jones.

Speaker 6 (01:43:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:43:46):
He has used to just you spoke to me and
to shake his ead yah and.

Speaker 1 (01:43:49):
He has these big expressive eyes and so he's I mean,
if you can ever get him going, okay, it's amazing
the conversation you can get him.

Speaker 3 (01:43:58):
So at some point we're getting close to weren't we. Yeah,
it was kind of.

Speaker 1 (01:44:03):
Let's make note he showed up with his Hawk hands on. Yeah,
and these are not new Hawk hands like he got
for Christmas. He's had these for a while. Yeah, Taylor
loved the hot Oh yeah, yeah, he loves the Hawk too.
He does the Hawk's match.

Speaker 6 (01:44:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:44:15):
There you may find he has these foam hands if
you want any at Sherry's instagram, my instagram. We we
got some shots and I think you actually see pacing
some of those with Hulk cans on.

Speaker 3 (01:44:26):
But but anyways, so Taylor, I remember when he would
go to school like he was the whole because yeah,
because I'm willin yeah will Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:44:34):
So there it is where that that's the the sought
after picture. We try to get all the kids out
there right there, and there's all the grandkids, uh and
uh and so there there we go. Of course she
has got a boot on right there. But anyway, so
the Sharry showed up with a boot, there's mama and
there there's what I was up at my father in laws.

Speaker 3 (01:44:51):
We got him a cool gift. So so anyway, all
of a sudden and holds pace.

Speaker 1 (01:44:55):
Now paces he'll be three in February. This is even
more amazing. All right, a minute, are we before four?

Speaker 6 (01:45:02):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:45:03):
Where'd I get three? I don't know four?

Speaker 1 (01:45:05):
But he so all of a sudden, you know, And
I love to do and we're not the first one.
What was that guy that you remember the children say
the darness things? I think Steve Harvey started, but it.

Speaker 3 (01:45:17):
Goes way on back. Yeah, that's him.

Speaker 1 (01:45:19):
It goes way on back, and you know, of course
you can't miss anymore. But Bill cous we did it
for a while too.

Speaker 3 (01:45:23):
But anyway, the conversation with little kids, I love that
kind of stuff. Oh it's hilarious.

Speaker 1 (01:45:27):
So for some reason I had his full attention and
I'm on the couch and he kind of gets his
knees up on the couch and I mean he's right
in my face, okay, And I said, well, how are
you feeling about Christmas? And then and then he'd do
his eyes like that and then he would shrug his
show pretty good. I said, so you're feeling pretty good
about it? Feeling pretty good? And I was like, okay,
what do you think you're gonna get? I don't know,

(01:45:48):
a bunch of stuff? Okay, you don't nothing specific? And
he looked at me. I said nothing, you like, you
can't think of any one thing? No, and so and
then then so then this is what you're all gonna love.
I said, what do you think I need to get
for Christmas? He said probably some big.

Speaker 3 (01:46:06):
Clothes And.

Speaker 1 (01:46:09):
I said, I said, you mean adult clothes, big clothes.
And I said okay, okay. And then I said I'm
thinking about a pony. He goes, oh no, no, no,
uncle wig a pony. I mean, what are you gonna do?

Speaker 3 (01:46:20):
He's a poopool over your house and h And I said,
well I was gonna keep it outside. He goes, no,
you need a toy pony.

Speaker 14 (01:46:31):
Like that?

Speaker 5 (01:46:32):
And uh.

Speaker 1 (01:46:32):
And I was thinking, I don't know, man, I was thinking,
what else are you thinking of?

Speaker 3 (01:46:36):
Got my glasses?

Speaker 1 (01:46:37):
And he goes, maybe some glasses?

Speaker 3 (01:46:41):
Look, and I said, do you like my glasses? Said
look this?

Speaker 1 (01:46:43):
He goes he kind of gives me. I said, you
think I need an upgrade for Santa? I'm thinking maybe
some glasses. I was like, okay, I mean he was
being so like I was talking to a tiny adult. Yeah,
what about he shot that pony down?

Speaker 3 (01:46:57):
You have poopol over your house?

Speaker 6 (01:46:59):
First thing? Great?

Speaker 3 (01:47:02):
Him and his cousins love poop jokes. Oh yeah, they
love it. Maybe some glasses.

Speaker 1 (01:47:11):
All right, So we'll come back, man, We'll go to
the land of the Wilburns. You said you got something
you want to share with us that you tried.

Speaker 3 (01:47:19):
It's nothing new, I mean, but I just tried it
for us, ok, and it's it worked, but it was
a mess getting it, trying to think if I can
pull that off when you go can't. We'll be right back.

Speaker 2 (01:47:34):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (01:47:41):
We have some things to cover too coming up. And
it looks like talking to Spain, Uh that I guess
I'm gonna go.

Speaker 6 (01:47:48):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:47:49):
Spain talked about the winter weather, so it looks like
that I will be Lord Willie uh going to speak
to the Branch County Men of Integrity. They're big steak
out men event and Coldwater, Michigan coming up on Saturday
five point thirty local time.

Speaker 3 (01:48:06):
So right now plans are a go.

Speaker 5 (01:48:08):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (01:48:08):
And then on Sunday night plans are still a go.

Speaker 1 (01:48:11):
Right now, I'll be speaking at First Baptist Church in Anderson,
Alabama for their Man Up Men's Conference. They're doing the
strategy from Themanchurch dot com and I'll be speaking to
them coming up on Sunday night. And Speedy, I understand
that you are pulling a Greg.

Speaker 6 (01:48:26):
I am.

Speaker 3 (01:48:26):
I'm a part of something I'm not promoting. And uh, Greg,
I'm sorry that you have that department, but you've known
for it. Yeah and uh well, I mean both yeah,
and uh, I'm gonna sacrificially go hunting for the show
to come out.

Speaker 1 (01:48:46):
We had the business on it.

Speaker 3 (01:48:47):
Yeah, down in the black Belt of Alabama, Selma area
for Morgan Academy's uh hunt that helps you know, fund
their school and and everything went there last year and
y'all made fun of me. I remember that met the
great Jager family. We stayed with them and Tommy and
David myself will do that again and then I'll speak
Saturday night to all of them. And they have hunters
from all over the country. And of course there's a

(01:49:09):
website you could go and register that. I haven't been
pushing either social media such a Greg I'm pulling, uh
And I'll try to get that care you to post
something about. I mean, that's what i'ma have to do.
But you can be a part of the deer Hunt register.

Speaker 13 (01:49:23):
Now.

Speaker 3 (01:49:23):
It's going to be a lot of good eating, as
you can imagine, and some excellent hunting. And I was
talking to the guys this little front that's coming through,
I mean even down there, it's just it's gonna be
just bitterly cold, which means I gotta get up, move Greg.
That's right, So I'm I'm looking forward to it.

Speaker 4 (01:49:39):
What's the website?

Speaker 3 (01:49:43):
Yeah, let's go to go to Morgan Academy dot com
slash deer Hunt. Is this this weekend?

Speaker 6 (01:49:50):
It is?

Speaker 3 (01:49:50):
How do you spell? You got out plenty of then?
Oh so you're you're the A D E. M. Y
Morgan with an A Morgan Academy dot com slash deer Hunt.
You can go there and get more information. There's a
information sheet and all that kind of stuff. But you
know that that's a great family. They actually even came
to the Golden ticket seat, remember that. And you know,
you meet nice people and then there's them and you go, boy,

(01:50:13):
they're really really nice and they're farmers too, which I've
always wanted to be one that I saw how hard
it is right. I'm like, I don't know if I
can pull that. You can, let me take barns everywhere.

Speaker 1 (01:50:21):
Farming is one of those things that's on the list
of I like the idea of yeah, yeah, but the reality.

Speaker 3 (01:50:26):
Of it is not like the idea of it. Yeah,
and y'all even had a best of bit long ago
where y'all, y'all don't like exercising, but watching other people
exercises sometimes fun. You see they're doing it. It's kind
of like farming to your point. Oh you know, you
you go past a and you see the tractor and
they're working. They're like, man, that'd be awesome until you're
the one doing it. Let me tell you it's different

(01:50:49):
when you got to do it. But landowners in that
area they donate their land for the hunt, and that
that is where all the hunters that have come in
and and signed up for this hunt, that's where they
go and they offer up, you know, areas for them
to hunt and stay and a lot of it's just
primo stuff. And so I'm just gonna have to go
down and do that again. Thank you for being sacramental problem. Now,

(01:51:10):
what did you say you tried on this show? And
this is not new, but it is for the Wilburns,
and that I've never done this. No, we've never done this,
claiming we've done the pre lit tree artificial tree, and
we had to go to this, And I asked Terry,
I said, now that the boy the boys are almost
out of the house completely, they come and go and
all that. Can we go back to maybe a real
tree because the reason we went away from that is

(01:51:32):
they were they're allergic to trees and all this stuff,
and they're grown now, so sometimes you get out of
that and we hadn't had them tested since they were younger.
So we went we went to artificial pre lit trees.
And you know the dilemma. Every year you open that
box and none of them work. You might get one,
maybe two good years out of it.

Speaker 6 (01:51:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:51:50):
Then I realized I'm boxing them up wrong, that each
each section needs its own box and all that. And
one person said they've had the same one for ten years.
If I got through all that, I just say not.
I told Terry, I said, let's try to see if
we can't balance it to the attic. And what I mean,
what I mean is keep the tree up, don't I'm
going up the steps. I'm going to try to balance it.

(01:52:10):
You have decorations still on it, No, no, took the
decorations off. Lights are on, okay, and I'm going now
we have the attics where you just pull it down
and little ladder. Yeah, the little ladder comes down and
here we go. Well, the problem is the tree is
wider than the hole going up. So the first half
of the tree fits just fine. But then you know,

(01:52:33):
the branches are all getting stuck at the ceilings, popping
you back, popping you back up. Terry's a great city worker.
She's just watching me do it, you know. And and
so I'm like, could you help me?

Speaker 5 (01:52:44):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (01:52:44):
And so I finally get it up a little tattered, uh.
And the you know, the the hard work is you
can lay the limbs down, but all the little leaves
and stuff, getting them all decorated to where the tree
looks full, that's where the work is. That's the horrible.
So I'm thinking, man, if we could pull this off,
and we don't have a bunch, we have the main tree,
and we have some of those little skinny pencil trees
that might have sent the corner of a room or something.

(01:53:06):
And I'm like those are going up. For sure, they
didn't have a problem going up, but you're trying to
balance them, and then it's trying to get away from you.

Speaker 1 (01:53:13):
Like I make a tree.

Speaker 3 (01:53:16):
Were talking the main one. It's a nine footer and
you know it's it's not as fat, but it's it's
it's got some height to it. But I'm proud to say, yeah, now, yeah,
we got debris everywhere, right, Okay, I mean you got
the vacuum. Oh my gracious, it's all over. But we'll
say this. The needles were so there were so.

Speaker 1 (01:53:36):
Many it's almost you looking go house or any left
on the how how uh it laughs at a vacuum.

Speaker 3 (01:53:42):
It does that every year. Yeah, but yeah, it still
looks like a tree. But we put them up in
the attic. It's the first time we've ever done that.
And besides maybe just fixing the bottom of the tree,
the top looks.

Speaker 1 (01:53:52):
How do you think it's going to be when they
come back out? You had to come out there like
it's we always think it's a year from now. We
always think it's a year from now. I know, I know,
but it's not because you know, Terry started this argument
with me years ago. Was we we do so much work,
like least it is now, especially if you're hosting and
oh that you do so much work that you don't
want to just get two weeks out of it.

Speaker 3 (01:54:12):
So it's got to go up. My gracious, we get
to November, we got to get it up. So really
to your point, Rick, I mean, we're ten months away
from doing it again.

Speaker 1 (01:54:20):
So needles still come off Artificial artificial trees, Oh yeah, yes.

Speaker 4 (01:54:26):
Yeah, like a pipe cleaner instead of a actual thing.

Speaker 6 (01:54:29):
Yea.

Speaker 1 (01:54:30):
But when you but each year you can't tell it.
You would think, hey, I haven't been that tree for
sixteen years. Every year I got to sweep a big
pile up that it would look bare, But it doesn't.

Speaker 4 (01:54:39):
No, I got we got the pre lit trees.

Speaker 3 (01:54:42):
I got two of them.

Speaker 4 (01:54:44):
And this year, because the boxes, if you try to
get it back in the box, it's not going back
in the box, and then you're trying to shove it
through that small hole in the ceiling, and the springs,
the little hook springs are hooking on the box, so
you're just ripping the box. And so I did that
for two years in a row. This past time, I
had two prelet artificial trees, and I took them up
into the attic one piece at a time and just

(01:55:05):
put them in the box that way, and I got
open boxes. But at least I didn't destroy.

Speaker 6 (01:55:10):
My trying to do it.

Speaker 3 (01:55:12):
And they're fairly when you bring them back out. It's
not as hard to getting as bad. Yeah, for the
skinny trees, we took up one piece, but for the
big one we did two pieces like you're talking about.
But still that bottom one, it's heavy and it's still
wide though. I mean, when the HVACT guy comes and
checks everything out, you might be, hey, what's up with
these trees? Change the filter about that? Yeah, but I

(01:55:35):
think I found a spot. Do you think where your
lights work? Next year? Boy, if I didn't tear them
up going, I mean, they'll get caught on stuff. Good night,
they'll get caught. It seems a little springs like Adler's
talking about.

Speaker 1 (01:55:48):
Listen, let me ask you all this, because I do it.
I've got like cardboard boxes with big wadded up balls
of lights almost on Christmas vacation when he is out,
and every year, instead of digging in it, I just
go buy more because they're not that expensing.

Speaker 3 (01:56:02):
Now you've been one I throw them away. I don't.
I keep compiling them in every year.

Speaker 1 (01:56:05):
Ago I'm gonna reuse these, Yeah, And I go to
get them out, and I go, I'll just go get
they're not that Yeah, yeah, that's what it should do.

Speaker 3 (01:56:12):
I mean, but I end up buying new lights for
every tree every year. Right there, we have rubber maids
full of of of lights hard and also ornaments that
we now don't use. So I said, Terry, come on
up to the adic with me, Come up to my
world here, and let's just sit down for a second.
I said, do you see all these boxes? This is
all Christmas. We didn't bring down four of these rubber maids, right,

(01:56:33):
we're not using them anymore. No, you're right, So could
we get up rid of all this? Then?

Speaker 1 (01:56:37):
No, we got we got to save that for the boys.
We gotta hand some of that stuff. Now you're talking
about the snowmen.

Speaker 3 (01:56:43):
We don't even use it. I touched it in years.

Speaker 1 (01:56:46):
You got that ornament they made in kindergarten out of
a dog bath. So when the milk bones the little
milkbone reindeer. Yeah, let me tell you something. We got
one tree's got nothing but that on it. Oh yeah,
taking it down a little sad it is. I went
in there and took all the orn mysall, I got
a little you mentioned it.

Speaker 4 (01:57:02):
Hooking at them?

Speaker 1 (01:57:03):
Have you some emotional things?

Speaker 4 (01:57:04):
When do you start putting them awayn't start looking at you?

Speaker 3 (01:57:05):
Talking about the one says I love daddy. Yes, and
their little picture is What about the ones that's got
their little picture in it? Talk about I love that
like Christmas vacation. When you get stuck.

Speaker 1 (01:57:16):
Yeah, video, that's handprint, but it's all it's all, not
the handprint of art or turkey.

Speaker 4 (01:57:26):
Oh yeah, Well, did you have anything happen when you
were putting away a treaty?

Speaker 3 (01:57:30):
All right, we'll talk about that later. Yeah, because I'm
involved with that one.

Speaker 1 (01:57:34):
Let's do let's do phone calls next eight eight eight six,
Big Box.

Speaker 2 (01:57:41):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 13 (01:57:48):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:57:49):
Notice that you were told to bring something to the
table a random caller in this phone segment solely based
on how we feel about your call. If you're bringing
something to the table, we think it's a good call.
We could just declare that you will get a chance. Still,
let one of the members of the show spend the
wheel of bundles bits and bucks for you, and maybe

(01:58:11):
you're the next person to win money. Two people have
already won five hundred dollars today. Uh, and so we're
just gonna randomly pick one out of as we're going
long ago. And if I look over and a guy's
guy has a good caller right there, somebody brought something
to the table. We can hear what you do on
your Christmas traditions. As we've told you about hours, we

(01:58:32):
still have some things to discuss about hours still to come.
We will hear from Dickey Nadmire next hour, and we
may have Gary the bulldozer Man test his new phone
to see what's any.

Speaker 3 (01:58:43):
Good's got to happen. Yes, so we still have a
lot to do today. So you see him cutting firewood?

Speaker 6 (01:58:47):
I did? I did?

Speaker 3 (01:58:49):
Did you see see him playing the piano?

Speaker 6 (01:58:51):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (01:58:52):
Is that really him that I need?

Speaker 1 (01:58:53):
More?

Speaker 13 (01:58:55):
So?

Speaker 9 (01:58:55):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (01:58:55):
Anyway, noah, uh but anyway, so uh call us at
eight eight six big Bucks and we'll chat with you.
Let's go to Jeremy out of brook Haveaven, Mississippi. Jeremy,
go ahead.

Speaker 12 (01:59:08):
He cut my beard and forced me to eat it.
I liked the new studio, thank you, and I wanted
to say I liked the new format too. I was
kind of curious about how it was. I've been waiting
on you to come back because I wake up at
five o'clock every morning, and I'm used to wake it
up with Speedy and Greg and making my coffee and
reading the Bible, and there was nobody around.

Speaker 3 (01:59:28):
So yeah, I really liked this.

Speaker 1 (01:59:30):
Yeah, I'm glad you like him that much.

Speaker 3 (01:59:32):
He's nice. Not out of the gate. I mean, come
on saying he's a nice guy. He didn't have to happen.
I didn't.

Speaker 1 (01:59:38):
I didn't see somebody else go with all the votes, Jeremy,
that's very kind of you. Thank you very much, buddy. Uh,
And I'm glad you're enjoying it well.

Speaker 3 (01:59:45):
I mean so, uh, let's say complimentary, very nice he was.
I agree with you, old guy. I knowed you couldn't
get a vote from Adler Greg though. Uh he sounded nice.

Speaker 7 (01:59:54):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (01:59:55):
Let's go to.

Speaker 1 (01:59:57):
Right, Let's go to Bobby. Oh, Bobby's speaking of deer
and he said he's sitting in a stand right now.

Speaker 3 (02:00:03):
Hey, Bobby, what's up.

Speaker 6 (02:00:05):
What's up? Let's see what I'm blind. I was hoping
I might get picked of spind no wheel yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:00:11):
It's got to be more than I'm just bobbing a
blind Bobby.

Speaker 12 (02:00:14):
I mean, I mean, have you no, I'm well, this
is the first time I've been able to get through you.

Speaker 3 (02:00:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 12 (02:00:20):
I tried all the twelve days at Christmas.

Speaker 6 (02:00:22):
I thought the stuff was rigged.

Speaker 3 (02:00:23):
Man, it always all oh, you hate like the begging
for me.

Speaker 1 (02:00:27):
This is not bad.

Speaker 3 (02:00:28):
It's not bad bad Bobby.

Speaker 1 (02:00:29):
Do you realize though, if we go crazy and start
going nuts, you're gonna spook deer.

Speaker 3 (02:00:33):
Yeah, I mean, what if you want a thousand If
you want a thousand dollars, you cold?

Speaker 6 (02:00:38):
Yeah, I'm yeah, I'm freezing today.

Speaker 1 (02:00:45):
Uh, let's go to Travis out of Kentucky. Travis, go ahead.

Speaker 13 (02:00:50):
I believe I'm coder and he is. It's about twenty
degrees up here, it is. Oh god, I was gonna
ask you Adler if he's going to play replays from
today's show tomorrow during the commercial break so we don't
have to watch Greg pick his nose and speed. He
spoke up pack of cigarette.

Speaker 3 (02:01:08):
All that hurts you. He might have got fit until then,
until right then I was about to stay picking.

Speaker 1 (02:01:13):
Yeah, well we're gonna we're by the way, I will admit.
Adler is the best at this little basketball game so far.
I want to take him on, but we're all catching up.

Speaker 3 (02:01:21):
Speedy's catching up quick. I don't like it.

Speaker 1 (02:01:24):
You go Emily and Huntsville. Emily go ahead, Emily, Yes.

Speaker 6 (02:01:31):
Rick, Okay, it's from Coleman.

Speaker 13 (02:01:34):
I wanted to wish.

Speaker 12 (02:01:35):
Yeah, I wonder what y'all luck on the new show.

Speaker 10 (02:01:38):
And it's not the same without Bubba.

Speaker 13 (02:01:41):
And it's not the same because we don't have to
hear inter resting.

Speaker 3 (02:01:48):
Okay, okay, we continue.

Speaker 1 (02:01:54):
The number is eight eight eight six big box. Uh.

Speaker 3 (02:01:57):
Let's go to uh uh.

Speaker 1 (02:02:00):
Steve and Huntsville also, Steve, go ahead, what.

Speaker 3 (02:02:06):
Thank you? Buddy, Y's me. I'm back, Steve. Hey, I
don't never want no money.

Speaker 13 (02:02:12):
Man.

Speaker 3 (02:02:12):
I'll give us a shout.

Speaker 1 (02:02:13):
I'll tell you all our Christmas tradition, man, Every year
we take our back on tree down down to Christmas.

Speaker 6 (02:02:17):
We take it out in the yard.

Speaker 3 (02:02:18):
We show at tree what for man, We show it
all kind new wrestling moves on you.

Speaker 9 (02:02:22):
Here.

Speaker 6 (02:02:22):
My uncle put a tree on top of fire hiding
when it snow.

Speaker 3 (02:02:25):
I broke my shoulder was here. I'm bad. I'm bad.
I was thinking that Greg and Lisa were their big tree.
They just you know, like put it outside up against
the tree line. It just be part of those trees. Absolutely,
just bring it on in every year.

Speaker 1 (02:02:42):
Steve Richmond, Virginia.

Speaker 3 (02:02:43):
Steve, go ahead, Yeah, I'm thinking for like one of
the prizes.

Speaker 12 (02:02:49):
He just randomly call somebody.

Speaker 3 (02:02:52):
Yeah, but how would we get the number off the off.

Speaker 10 (02:02:55):
The text numbers that are calling them?

Speaker 3 (02:02:58):
I see, oh, I see what you're doing. But the
that's smart.

Speaker 1 (02:03:05):
Now we can see them on some of the callers
and we can see every one of them on the text.
So and we did call someone earlier when they got
a question. Right, Yeah, let's go to Laurie in Alabama.

Speaker 3 (02:03:18):
Laurie go ahead, Hey, how are y'all? We're good, Laurie.

Speaker 10 (02:03:23):
I love the new studio. I was just gonna say,
I bought an Alexa Christmas tree. So I tell it
to change all the lights and all that, and it's
really pretty. And so when I took it down, I
was so scared to take it apart. So I was
afraid I'd mess up the wiring. So I have actually
taken the base off and I'm going to wrap it

(02:03:45):
up in plastic. I took all the ornaments off and
I'm just gonna store it like that because I'm too
afraid to take it apart.

Speaker 6 (02:03:51):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (02:03:51):

Speaker 3 (02:07:03):
This year, Lord Willie.

Speaker 1 (02:07:05):
All right, so a lot has happened since we have
been away. You got speedy, Greg and Adler here. We've
covered a lot. We have more to cover this hour.
One thing we really had haven't even touched on, just
maybe one passing comment is a college football playoff semi
finals this weekend. And then there's been bowl games since

(02:07:26):
we've been away, and a lot of people wondering will
we hear from Dicky Nadmir And the answer.

Speaker 3 (02:07:32):
Is he's on hold. Oh boy, my goodness. There's no

(02:07:55):
telling Greg what's gonna happen here. But he was very
reluctant to come on, but said he would. So, Dicky,
are you there?

Speaker 6 (02:08:03):
Road Dead?

Speaker 1 (02:08:04):
There he is?

Speaker 3 (02:08:05):
He is nowns a little down, Yes he does, road Tad,
Dickie ned mine, you.

Speaker 12 (02:08:12):
Know what I like.

Speaker 6 (02:08:13):
You know what I like about the new show?

Speaker 3 (02:08:15):
What's that one?

Speaker 6 (02:08:16):
Less Aby? Now?

Speaker 3 (02:08:20):
All right, road Tad?

Speaker 6 (02:08:22):
Last, if you think about if you two last, if
you think about road Dad, Dick.

Speaker 1 (02:08:28):
Well, all I got to ask you. You thought, no way,
they don't make the top twelve. I'm talking pre season.

Speaker 3 (02:08:34):
Du Huh? How do you deal with four losses? I
know you did not see that.

Speaker 6 (02:08:38):
Come now, well, you can't deal with it. Now, there's
some other programs like the one new support Greg. I mean,
if you all had if you only had four wins
at a great Burgess program like the one down there
in the cal Cottlage, I mean we'll be chomping up
and down saying, let's say, well getting extention on HU.

Speaker 3 (02:08:56):
I can't argue with that.

Speaker 6 (02:09:00):
What you do right at Bama? Yeah, we gotta fire,
We got to fire the board.

Speaker 1 (02:09:04):
I mean, now, wait a minute, wait a minute, Jing
listen to get his system his players.

Speaker 6 (02:09:09):
Yeah, yeah, well I tell what losses?

Speaker 3 (02:09:13):
Yes, you know what that says, Dicky. Be honest, you're
watching the game, you're watching Michigan, and you're watching Bama
and you're thinking, Okay, Bama will turn it around. I
know I did that this will be the series, and
he just kept getting worse. I couldn't believe what I
was seeing.

Speaker 6 (02:09:28):
I could how many times if I told you the Millroe.

Speaker 3 (02:09:32):
Can't do it, Well, what do you mean he's gonna
taken in the first round of the draft.

Speaker 6 (02:09:38):
He can't luck with that?

Speaker 3 (02:09:41):
Inacious?

Speaker 6 (02:09:43):
I mean, I hope you hope you get good Milroy.
I hope you don't get bad Milroy.

Speaker 3 (02:09:47):
I don't know, like I said, I mean, Greg.

Speaker 6 (02:09:49):
Go ahead, Greg Kettle, I'm getting the truth.

Speaker 3 (02:09:53):
I don't know. That was a really good Michigan team
they lost to because when they have five wins six but.

Speaker 6 (02:10:00):
Well, it was embarrassing. And if you were called, if
you go back and roll the tape, you're dark. I
was still there on the YouTube channel rollback, you'll hear
one Dickey and Admire saying we shouldn't go to the Bowl.
We shouldn't go to the playoffs. We ain't good enough,
we didn't play well enough. Shouldn't be in it. Don't
want to be there.

Speaker 3 (02:10:22):
You did say that. I will give you credit for that.
That would be one last loss. If they had listened
to you. Yep, they don't want to be there.

Speaker 6 (02:10:28):
And apparently after watching the tide, Calvin, I wouldn't only
one didn't want to be there.

Speaker 3 (02:10:34):
You're right, You're right, Dickie, like really making sense that
he is long as what happened?

Speaker 6 (02:10:41):
You like a college playoff?

Speaker 3 (02:10:43):
How you like it?

Speaker 8 (02:10:43):
Wow?

Speaker 6 (02:10:44):
It's been a gentlemen of a dud dud blood duck.

Speaker 3 (02:10:49):
Besides the what Arizona State game? That was a good game.

Speaker 6 (02:10:53):
We all lined up to see the sun Devil's play.
Ye turn on the TV, get out to knock.

Speaker 8 (02:11:02):
Right.

Speaker 3 (02:11:03):
Couldn't believe I couldn't believe Ohio State blue out Tennessee.
Couldn't believe it. I mean, oh, believe it. They're playing
really well.

Speaker 6 (02:11:10):
That's how much fun I've had. That was that the
only game? I'm going.

Speaker 3 (02:11:17):
Good night? So, I mean, so what do you do now?

Speaker 6 (02:11:20):
Rocky Rocky down, not Rocky Top Rocky down.

Speaker 3 (02:11:23):
Hey, good news, though, I think you got a chance.
In basketball, they got a pretty good tame. I know
you really care, I don't care, don't.

Speaker 6 (02:11:31):
Even know Bama fans you got do? What a Bama
fans don't care about basketball?

Speaker 3 (02:11:36):
Why is that?

Speaker 6 (02:11:36):
Can we tell you?

Speaker 3 (02:11:37):
Ma? Yeah?

Speaker 6 (02:11:37):
Go ahead, goes over good at it road.

Speaker 3 (02:11:45):
Well, let me ask you this y'all bring in saving
back or not.

Speaker 6 (02:11:49):
We need to bring him back. He ain't too old now,
he ain't gonna lock the atmosphere of course, apparently to
the boring. Boring ain't too good that let me do
what we need to do it. I mean now, since
a little mature country don't get a nine season?

Speaker 3 (02:12:05):
Uh oh yeah, yeah, I forgot.

Speaker 6 (02:12:08):
You're right he is.

Speaker 3 (02:12:09):
He saw him in person in the Birmingham ball that's right.
You sure did forgot about that, Yeah you.

Speaker 6 (02:12:14):
Did so, little tabio he'll get an season. Yeah, we
don't know it.

Speaker 3 (02:12:22):
He's appealing it so he gets this. He can't say
stuff like that.

Speaker 6 (02:12:26):
But I'm gonna tell you how after he spanked the Tide,
I'll take you.

Speaker 3 (02:12:30):
You know so well, I get it. You're right, put
him back?

Speaker 9 (02:12:34):
Why not?

Speaker 12 (02:12:35):
You know what?

Speaker 6 (02:12:36):
I didn't lie when he beat the Tide, but he
got you. Yeah, HEAs hard.

Speaker 3 (02:12:41):
He does, he does, he does. He doesn't look very
athletic at on, but he just has results.

Speaker 6 (02:12:46):
Got tell you the difference in and the Tide.

Speaker 3 (02:12:48):
What's this?

Speaker 6 (02:12:49):
Up? One plays hard one, don't little tide?

Speaker 3 (02:12:54):
There you go, so y'all, seriously, Dickie, what are you
going to do like straight up. I mean, how do
you feel?

Speaker 6 (02:13:00):
I mean you fired the boring? What I say, fired
the boring?

Speaker 3 (02:13:04):
I mean that, So that's it.

Speaker 6 (02:13:06):
I ain't alone.

Speaker 3 (02:13:07):
How's the family?

Speaker 6 (02:13:09):
My fans and honest they say the same thing. Okay,
you'll ever heard the term stop the bleeding?

Speaker 3 (02:13:15):
Mm hmm, Well you heard the.

Speaker 6 (02:13:16):
Term, Yeah I have.

Speaker 3 (02:13:17):
I've heard it many times, many times.

Speaker 6 (02:13:20):
Dropped the bleeding. It's just gonna get worse.

Speaker 3 (02:13:23):
Yeah. Sometimes they're the kids. The kids get the most upset.
How your how your boys taking it?

Speaker 6 (02:13:28):
Yeah? Try it on too. It's been hard. It's been devastating,
been devastating. You know what hurts you when you see
your little wife? Was my case? Not you a little bit?
When you see your wife, when you see you're upset
and bowling and crying and saying, way, we ain't a

(02:13:50):
good no more diggy.

Speaker 3 (02:13:52):
As he says it.

Speaker 6 (02:13:53):
And I said, who would have thought we're getting the
coach from Washington? Be a bad idea?

Speaker 3 (02:13:58):
They stated, And get play a game.

Speaker 6 (02:14:01):
Oh yeah, let's let's let's get to Washington state. Guy here,
the one that's paying scriptors. And for the longest my
kids couldn't even say road tied after what he did,
I know, and then and then we'll get and then
we get rid of him and don't go We'll go
back to Washington again. I'm getting joked up about it.

Speaker 3 (02:14:20):
I know that you contain yourself.

Speaker 11 (02:14:24):
Oh so rolling yeah, Road Tide, Yeah you got you
got you.

Speaker 6 (02:14:34):
It's not a good day for Baba football. We got problems.

Speaker 3 (02:14:37):
Got a lot of work doing portal. Oh the portal. Yeah,
gotta get your portal, you know, Dicky, Maybe y'all can
step up. You can send donation. That seems to be
the way you do it nowadays. You got to get
that money up so we can get them players. Yeah,
gets some of that disability money you get and send
it out.

Speaker 6 (02:14:52):
Sure, Well you know what I was thinking. You know
what's so on you around the country. May not know where,
but it didn't hear in Bama.

Speaker 12 (02:14:59):
We know.

Speaker 6 (02:14:59):
I mean the Yellowood guy ain't get no return on
his money. Well, you know, you may we get Yellowood
spend a little Bamma money.

Speaker 3 (02:15:07):
We'll see. Yeah, I'll be right. Yeah, because it doesn't
seem you gotta do something. You gotta do something.

Speaker 6 (02:15:12):
Road when the playoff is a disaster. I mean, we
do some matchups we got are awful. Yeah, we need
the best twelve teams to play by the mine. Now
you don't hear me saym Bama should have been in it.
Not this that's over, not this Mamma team. We don't
deserve it, shouldn't be there, shouldn't play the Bowl game,
should doe nothing. You should have gone to the house.

Speaker 3 (02:15:33):
I took up a quick.

Speaker 6 (02:15:36):
But nobody wants to see these games. I'm watching boys stage.

Speaker 3 (02:15:42):

That would have been gonna do this is the Rick
Burchers show.

Speaker 3 (02:16:27):
Is his cell phone.

Speaker 1 (02:16:29):

Speaker 6 (02:17:40):

Speaker 9 (02:17:42):
You know, he's telling me all the features on it

Speaker 6 (02:18:24):
Been sick, you know.

Speaker 3 (02:18:29):
There by herself. Uh oh boy.

Speaker 9 (02:18:31):

going on.

Speaker 9 (02:19:01):
Yeah, I'm like, you know, but it's been uh yeah,
I've been cutting firewood and I saw that. Man, I
had to talk with giants. I had to talk with
James Fan a while ago, and you know, he said
he kind of made a mistake on this weather stuff.
He said, he thinks it's gonna be a lot worse
than what it is, you know what he said.

Speaker 6 (02:19:22):
But I'm fishing.

Speaker 3 (02:19:23):
Go by and get some milk bread here. He didn't
say that.

Speaker 1 (02:19:27):
Don't do that, and everybody don't do that. Well, all right, Garry,

But I want to ask you this. We got about
a minute. I want to ask you this question on
the Final Hunt. On the final Hunt of the Business Summit,
or we should say final meeting. You're telling me that
you did not go out there and do that big
foot sound.

Speaker 6 (02:20:35):
Yeah, I'm serious. I would.

Speaker 9 (02:20:39):
I was here watching somebody get bade on football. Don't

Speaker 6 (02:20:46):
No, it wasn't Mane.

Speaker 3 (02:20:47):
I swear it wasn't Yarry.

Speaker 6 (02:20:51):
I'm serious.

Speaker 1 (02:20:51):
We all got something out there. I mean you remember,
did you hear it?

Speaker 6 (02:20:56):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (02:20:56):
I heard it. I did too.

Speaker 6 (02:20:57):
It was bad.

Speaker 1 (02:20:58):
I was convinced it with him, but I don't. I
kept saying it was Gary. He showed me a picture
him sitting there watching football.

Speaker 3 (02:21:03):
He could a fake that, Yeah, he probably did.

Speaker 9 (02:21:06):

Speaker 3 (02:21:31):
The video I sent you so I told you.

Speaker 1 (02:21:34):
You know, there's always and we made the analogy earlier,
but which I think is solid. It's like having babies.
You forget what all it was. So that's why people
keep having them. I think we keep going all in
for Christmas decorations because every year enough time passes we
forget what it's like to take them down. A fact,
and so we're and look Sherry's you know, from the

(02:21:56):
real tree world, it's non negotiable. Tried some artificial trees
throughout our marriage. They did, it didn't go well. Back
to what you both have said, the light's not working
the second year after packing it back in the box,
and she loves the smell of a real tree and
not all about the real tree. And of course then
you know, I found the turnkey deal that that went away,

(02:22:18):
found another one, got back on my feet. But on
the back end, I've still never replaced the come get it,
take it away that that's come back. Now we have
to do that part completely, which hurts because it always
it's just a miserable day to take you know, because
it's not happy. You're not putting it up here. It's
all over, you know. And so my my job is

(02:22:42):
to take the lights off both the trees, which is
you'd be surprised how tedious it is and that I'm
actually doing it, and I'm not it's just awful.

Speaker 3 (02:22:52):
Okay. So so we're getting that done.

Speaker 6 (02:22:56):
And so.

Speaker 3 (02:22:57):
You know, when you're getting.

Speaker 1 (02:22:58):
Ready to try to take trees out and you're taking
stuff out, sometimes you just leave the door open. Oh okay,
and uh, unfortunately we we left the door open, and
I begin to hear a chirping sound, a chirping chirping sound.
Bird in house. And you know birds can't get them

(02:23:19):
to get down, No, you can't. They think they go
to the top of the ceiling and the door is
lower than that the door. You open the door, they
just won't fly down there, and they get excited and
start dropping stuff. So here's just a little clip to
show you that it was real. I want you to
notice what I have. I've gone to the pool and
I have the pool net trying to catch it, trying
to catch.

Speaker 4 (02:23:38):
It, trying to catch a bird with a pool.

Speaker 3 (02:23:41):
By the way, I.

Speaker 1 (02:23:42):
Almost got it, all right, So uh there go, he's quick.

Speaker 3 (02:23:47):
He's a quick.

Speaker 1 (02:23:50):
We believe it is an Eastern phoebe. For those you
bird watchers out there, pe yeah, thank you. What are
you a bird watching?

Speaker 3 (02:24:01):
Going to that bird's mind?

Speaker 6 (02:24:02):
Yes? So what what hell?

Speaker 3 (02:24:03):
Guy with a net?

Speaker 1 (02:24:05):
What else do birds do they lay it well, and
if they, if they get scared, they just start throwing
it anywhere.

Speaker 3 (02:24:10):
Yeah, just old black tar, horrible, so much stuff in it.

Speaker 9 (02:24:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:24:15):
And hey, if you would have seen Sherry and me,
her with the on the boot and me with the
pool net trying to get this thing out of the house.
We could not get I've had to do. We could
not get it to fly down well a couple of times.

Speaker 3 (02:24:29):
And I'll just I've had them in badly. Uh yeah,
Well I got to that.

Speaker 1 (02:24:33):
Point where I was taking the Eastern Phoebe to Phoebe Heaven, Yeah, just.

Speaker 3 (02:24:37):
To get it out of the ear.

Speaker 1 (02:24:38):
Yeah, And I said just so. And of course I
had a chandelier that was nearly real bad. You don't
have a good issue with that. You don't believe that's
had Misissippi.

Speaker 3 (02:24:46):
So anyway, so all this, you know, revolving battery powered
by blower one time on mind just helped a little.

Speaker 6 (02:24:53):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:24:53):
So you know how, you know how I like to
have a system, okay, and I like to have it
down pat. So my normal routine is now now is
we when the trees are done and we get the
lights off of them, we go out the door into
the truck. I drive them to a place not far
away that takes Christmas tree and they recycle.

Speaker 3 (02:25:15):
Well not on purpose, not on purpose.

Speaker 1 (02:25:18):
So so anyway, so you know how your kids are,
even as adults, their timing just is never you know,
you know, when you say to them, if you ever
need anything, let me know, I think.

Speaker 3 (02:25:30):
We should take that back, but they'll take you up
on it.

Speaker 6 (02:25:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:25:33):
And when they take you up on it, it's never
the right time. Yeah, And they really don't let you know. So,
as were already talked about, young Brodrick, you know, has
a company that does all sorts of for all kinds
of people, you know, videos and editing and documentaries and
marketing pieces and movies and all this. And he's he's
done our.

Speaker 3 (02:25:53):
New episode which comes out here shortly, and so apparently
he needed a truck and he says, Dad, now this
is day we're taking everything down. Hey, Dad, is there
any way I could borrow your truck? And I was like, well,
let me check with you. Mom.

Speaker 1 (02:26:07):
Of course it's one of the kids, so oh sure anything.
And I was like, well, aren't we doing the trees?
And she's like, well, we may not get it all down,
and we can go into Saturday and or we can
get them down, set them the driveway, you take them
back on Saturday.

Speaker 3 (02:26:21):
Okay. So this was Friday. Okay, so I start.

Speaker 1 (02:26:26):
Then I get a panic text from my contact Andrew
Varvudas about getting rid of the Christmas tree, and he said, hey,
heads up to day's last day. I said, today's the
last day. He goes, ye, if you don't get it
turned in today, you ain't have nowhere to go. You
have to find somewhere else. And I was like, well,
I don't have my truck. Throw them in the backyard now,
I don't have my truck. So so anyway, so we

(02:26:48):
do all day long, finally get it done, and Sherry said,
I wanted to be great if we just take these
and be done with it. Of course, you know you're
preaching the choir now, and I said, we need somebody
who's got a truck. Well, Speedy had just text me
and I knew he was at the office, which is
not far from my house. And I said, I'll tell
you what. You take me over to Speedy. I'll get

(02:27:10):
Speedy's truck before he's even done at work, because it's
where we're taking them's not far from here either, and
I have his truck back to him and then no
harm done. And I checked how long you're gonna be there,
and you said about another hour, and I thought.

Speaker 3 (02:27:21):
That's plenty of time. Perfect, that's plenty. That's plenty of time.

Speaker 9 (02:27:25):
You know.

Speaker 3 (02:27:26):
Speedy a little different than me, you know. He he
takes care of using right, yeah, and which is not
a bad thing. It's not. It really isn't. Matter of fact,
it's the way it should be. Okay.

Speaker 1 (02:27:37):
So you know, you can be non materialistic and then
you can just be irresponsible, okay. And so yeah, and
I've blurred it, you have, Uh so Speedy, of course
he's big hearted. I know I'm getting the truck. I mean,
you know, he's not gonna say no, okay. And he
hated every minute of it, okay. And his truck really

(02:27:57):
nice truck, really nice struggle a lot of complicating, I thought, well,
and I didn't.

Speaker 3 (02:28:02):
And you know what, you know, how you want to
influence people. Glad to see you on the Classic rock channel. Okay?

Speaker 1 (02:28:06):
Alright, So so anyway, uh new truck real complicated everything,
and it's complicated and so we figured out and and
he knows I wouldn't listen, and he told me how
many times how to put it in drive and reverse.
It's one of these new fangled things where you just
moved a little. It's not one of these, but it's
a little yeah. Yeah, you just move it a couple
of ways. Real strange.

Speaker 3 (02:28:25):
But anyway, so so I've got you weren't listening. I knew,
so I take off and you know, had trouble doing that, Yes,
couldn't couldn't take off? Well, bad sign you ever ever singing?
What how you take off in this? It's weird, by
the way, it's not that bad. So it's it's him
talking right now. I will tell you this.

Speaker 1 (02:28:44):
I will tell you I don't like you only having
one line either. I need two lines when backing it.

Speaker 3 (02:28:48):
Up, you just have one. That's a setting. That's just
my setting. Just uh with the trailer hitch and the
trailer and all that. That's just a line up.

Speaker 1 (02:28:56):
There's some there's some plants that I like that there
have been two lines, but.

Speaker 3 (02:29:00):
Anyway, sow up but other scratch. I didn't know what
that one.

Speaker 1 (02:29:04):
So anyway, so I back it down. We we we get,
we get the trees, and I say to Sherry, I don't.
I mean, she's ready for this. She I think she
wants to be over with more than me. I said, baby,
he's got some straps here. I need strappies. Now, you
don't need strappees.

Speaker 3 (02:29:16):
Now we're just going right over here, and and and
and so the burgess thing.

Speaker 6 (02:29:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:29:20):
So so I was like, I had I had the
smaller tree and the bigger tree. You know, it needs
to you know, you didn't strap it down or you
need to take the gate and put it up, and
so you didn't have the gate up.

Speaker 3 (02:29:31):
And then she goes, she goes, why are we you
waiting on? And she just pushes the tree in and
I said, baby, that's in my truck. I said, you
can't just push a tree in like that, all aggressive.
And I thought, I thought, well, I scratched his truck.
That's the first thing I thought of.

Speaker 6 (02:29:44):
Yeah, he don't like it.

Speaker 15 (02:29:45):
Yeah, And then I thought, well he does, Greg who
likes scratches I really doing. I don't know if he
likes it, but it doesn't bother him. Apparently he's blind
to scratch. So I'm flying, so, you know, and I don't.
I don't hear that good anymore okay, so it's finding death.
So now I'm driving the trees over to it, dropping

(02:30:05):
them off. Yeah, Sherry following me in her car. Well,
I think she shouts to me, go on. I forgot
my phone. When she's telling me, don't go because I
don't know where you're going.

Speaker 3 (02:30:15):
Saying hold on. Okay, yeah, she's saying hold on. I
think she's saying go on.

Speaker 1 (02:30:18):
So you got to tailgate down two trees. So I'm going, Greg,
I don't make it one hundred yards. I don't make
it one hundred yards, and I lose small tree. I
lose small three hundred yards. Okay like that what row
were on? I was on the cris so anyway, So
and it is not a free leave. Its scratch that
way by my bad on the sharks because they got

(02:30:40):
they got a tree right in the driveway. So so anyway,
but but that's a risk when you have it live
where the thing comes down. And so anyway, Sherry says,
you went off and left me. I said, well, don't worry,
you can. I got some breadcrumbs from you for you,
a big one called a Christmas tree. I've already lost one.
I told you we need to strap this down. Well,
you driving over here, you wide like you're like you're

(02:31:01):
in a drag race. I said, no, no, no, I
was easing. You just can't lay two trees in the
back of a truck and have the gate down. Now
you got to strap them down. So now it's on
the side of the road. Now I'm trying to turn
around your truck. That's complicated.

Speaker 3 (02:31:12):
It's not so there. It's a truck, and I mean,
I know each model is a little different. It's got
to be pretty obvious. Okay, so you've done it. No
I haven't.

Speaker 1 (02:31:22):
Okay, you've been in this truct I have how many
times you're driven it?

Speaker 3 (02:31:25):
None? Okay, Well then I just sitting there. I'm going
by the D. D is for drive.

Speaker 1 (02:31:30):
But then you have something around that then you have
to press this thing up.

Speaker 3 (02:31:33):
It's just a car.

Speaker 1 (02:31:35):
Yeah, here's the same way. And I'm not great in it.
So now I'm frustrated. I'm frustrated. I throw the new
Now I don't care about I throw them.

Speaker 3 (02:31:42):
I throw you forgot.

Speaker 1 (02:31:44):
I've totally forgotten to speed.

Speaker 3 (02:31:45):
And I think it's mine and I take the gate,
say we need to have the gate up, and I
shoved the gate up so many, I said, I stopped counting,
and look, I thought, I said, you just have to
walk away to myself.

Speaker 1 (02:32:00):
At one point, if I didn't scratch it the first
time I have, I made sure I did right now.
Now I've scratched it for sure, and now it's uncomfortable
because I have to bring it back. Do I mention
the scratches?

Speaker 3 (02:32:11):
Do I bring it up? I thought the tactic was
pretty clever on your part dropping the keys off and
then texted me that there might be.

Speaker 1 (02:32:18):
A proby you might find a scratcher to real quick?

Speaker 6 (02:32:25):
How much? How much you?

Speaker 1 (02:32:26):
How much? Please tell me that big white mark was
on it when you bought.

Speaker 3 (02:32:31):
Buddy, I'm sorry, it's all right. How bad was it?
It's okay? I mean it's in the bed of the truck.
I mean you know there's gonna be scratches and it's
a spray in bare line bedliner thing. But you probably
would you wish you to? Yeah, now, the the the sides,
and the tailgate and the top and all that. You're
not worried about.

Speaker 1 (02:32:51):
The man probably the tailgate.

Speaker 3 (02:32:53):
Yeah, yeah, the tailgate. It's seen his better day, got frustrated.
You've seen his brand new truck right. Oh yeah, you say.
