there was kind of a you know, a pool out there.
(02:25):
How many times when the show started, Uh, will I
say Rick and Bubba show and and and I've had
it with with two full days behind me.
Speaker 3 (02:34):
I think I've said it twice.
Speaker 4 (02:36):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (02:36):
But one thing that was hilarious and some.
Speaker 1 (02:38):
Of you are probably captured it because a lot of
you really are on the move.
Speaker 3 (02:43):
I mean you're on the ball.
Speaker 1 (02:44):
So I actually put out a video getting ready for
the show and called it the Rick and Bubba Show
on my first post today. So if you grabbed that
before I went back and edited it, so enjoy that.
Speaker 3 (02:54):
That was fun. But anyway, everybody's here.
Speaker 1 (02:56):
But also if you did see that post, you also
know that we have new microphones today. Uh, and there's
always a tremendous amount of angst on new microphones, new equipment,
new stuff. And I left here yesterday I saw the
engineers super Time overseeing it. They were setting them up.
(03:16):
I came in and tested them a little bit, and
I kind of forgot about it. And then when I
got here today, I remembered the new microphones, and just
about the time that Greg had talked about how much
he hates them and all that, and I was gonna
I was reassuring him everything was gonna be fine. Super
Time the engineer is showed up as the show was starting,
and I thought to myself, there's no way that's good.
Speaker 3 (03:39):
It's good. Can you don't do that?
Speaker 4 (03:40):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (03:40):
Huh? That mouth? We had no volume. Wait a minute,
so you're talking Okay, mine's actually sounds better than your
think too.
Speaker 5 (03:49):
I will tell you this. If you move you ahead
that the headphones make it good.
Speaker 1 (03:53):
Well, you have to watch that, and I'll tell you why.
Because the microphones actually have more punch. And one thing.
Tom was shocked yesterday. I mean he literally was shocked.
Is that one time? And Tom he's in there, he
can not have said he saw me turn my headphones down.
Speaker 3 (04:06):
Wow ah yep. I went over.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
I said, wow, these things are so powerful. I got
to turn my headphones down. Really, yours does sound really good?
Mind pretty much sounds asked up?
Speaker 3 (04:15):
But what did you just say? Listen you're I'm listening.
Speaker 1 (04:21):
I'm listening to yours and it sounds fine.
Speaker 3 (04:25):
What do you what's wrong with I got in my head.
I told me it wasn't gonna sound good. What's wrong
with it?
Speaker 1 (04:31):
He said the time, not tell me mine wasn't gonna
sound that's but it sounds fine.
Speaker 3 (04:35):
I don't know what's wrong with it? Now. Now I
gotta I gotta justice this right. Good. Look, Look, we're
just working through it. They originally had it hang on,
hang on one second, one.
Speaker 6 (04:45):
Day, release the cracky.
Speaker 3 (04:50):
He's messing with it.
Speaker 7 (04:51):
Okay, is he really is that or is that us?
Speaker 3 (04:53):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (04:54):
Is it?
Speaker 3 (04:54):
Headphones? Okay? They look great? And I sat down behind it,
fired up. And also I realized the the the mic.
I'm trying to which part of it is right here?
There's a tip of the arm.
Speaker 1 (05:09):
Arm that the arm that I'm going to be cross
eyed when the shows because it's right dead center. My
nose and im and my eyes are crossing. That's you know,
I'll get used to that.
Speaker 3 (05:20):
I can wear glasses and how do you how do
you light the new arms?
Speaker 8 (05:24):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (05:25):
From from from a YouTube standpoint? Way better clean, much
more when you're on that camera there? Am I hidden?
Speaker 7 (05:34):
Like because you're guiding on purpose?
Speaker 1 (05:36):
No?
Speaker 5 (05:36):
No, I don't know. Can you see me right now?
Because little I can right when?
Speaker 7 (05:43):
I know what you're doing.
Speaker 3 (05:43):
I just didn't know.
Speaker 1 (05:44):
I look that was like behind I don't know what
you're behind there.
Speaker 7 (05:50):
I know what you're doing.
Speaker 3 (05:52):
I'll tell you what this makes me. My voice sounds deeper.
Speaker 9 (05:56):
Me.
Speaker 1 (05:56):
See these microphones, they're phenomenal. If I do, I'm gonna
I'm gonna get it this right here, and before you
know what, I'm gonna be talking like I'm a voice
guy coming back broadcasting.
Speaker 3 (06:06):
Oh yeah, yeah, that's good.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
And your head, I don't think so. It probably says, Look,
we're speedy, I'm moving. I'm moving my head after or something. Okay,
I turned my head heads down. Okay, this is the
way to do it first time.
Speaker 3 (06:23):
What am I doing? Straighten it out? What am I
sitting in? This fall off right here?
Speaker 1 (06:29):
You can push it away, but you can't. If you
don't do this, then we're all gonna be walking over
tripping over our feet because our eyes across.
Speaker 7 (06:37):
Let me tell you that is always in the middle
of your face to your nose is always there. I
can't see it doesn't make you cross eyed?
Speaker 3 (06:44):
Yeah, oh gosh, now you've made me wear my nose.
I have noticed your right eye doesn't follow your left
when that much. It's just a little behind. This is
in heaven.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
Yeah, maybe I'll tell you what I can wear, A
patch one. I'm gonna go as far as to say
that I think that Greg came up with the the Hey, Rick,
stop talking like you are a voice guy.
Speaker 3 (07:02):
I mean I hear you voice.
Speaker 10 (07:05):
I was actually talking with great we hear what's speeding?
Speaker 3 (07:07):
Break? Coming back talking about it?
Speaker 1 (07:12):
So I gotta walk a song today the wheels got
to get there.
Speaker 3 (07:17):
Well, I might just walk it.
Speaker 10 (07:18):
Just this exhibition, you know, coming out what you're talking
about it? So yeah, yeah, that's good. No, but I
was going much better.
Speaker 4 (07:28):
Now.
Speaker 1 (07:28):
What I was going to say is I think Greg
came up was slightly off.
Speaker 11 (07:32):
Yeah, but that's actually how he really looked. You know,
everywhere needs me. I'm playing nine songs in a row. Yeah, no,
I like it.
Speaker 3 (07:48):
I think it's you. I love this time, thank you. Yeah,
this is a great story. Headache. Now I can't see
the text. I'll have to read those. In the break,
Speedy is saying he can't see the text line. Now.
Speaker 1 (07:59):
It's like I'm looking somebody text right now on the
text line, so speed you can see if you can
see it. Yeah, okay, so we got I know some
stuff s already up there. But anyway, so text, I
don't know what's wrong. I'll tell you one thing. Eight
day dates six two four four, eight six nine. That's
the text line or our six big box. Somebody go, hey, Speedy,
your you know, your head shining or something, so so
(08:20):
you can see that's what.
Speaker 3 (08:21):
You want them to say.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
Well, you've gotta gotta climb out. From behind that contraction,
daring break.
Speaker 3 (08:26):
I'm on out speed if you want to go ahead
in Texas, Texas right now. One eight. I love playing
with the knee by Yeah, I'm sure there's there's wrong
with it. Uh so, uh right.
Speaker 1 (08:43):
So I'm profile yeah yeah, so wait a minute, Hang
on a minute.
Speaker 3 (08:47):
I have a very good profile.
Speaker 1 (08:48):
One Hey, I just looked up in that coming back
at you? So what was what I want to do?
Speaker 5 (08:54):
When we get a text line, you don't really slow down.
The text line is eight a eight six two four four.
Speaker 3 (09:01):
I can start that sound good? Eight eight eight.
Speaker 1 (09:03):
Six two four four eight six nine. That's it's the
same number you call with. You don't just text it.
Speaker 3 (09:10):
No mine. You know they're gonna get to mine later, right, Well,
your my whole lot. You do this voice. I'm to
be honest.
Speaker 1 (09:16):
Ime's not a miracle worker. I can't lay hands. And
I said I got pipes. We've already we've already talked
about the cracking in the room. Can we talk about
the ad er didn't get a new money?
Speaker 7 (09:28):
Oh yeah, that's fine, that's it's okay. Y'all are at
the desk. Y'all are at the console, and we got
rid of those like garage spring looking. Yeah, the garage
springs had to go.
Speaker 5 (09:38):
Plus you wouldn't be able to see over the arm
endo here because it's a little high.
Speaker 3 (09:42):
So you know what I mean. That sounds good. Let's
do that. We come back.
Speaker 1 (09:49):
You sound like you're across well, you know, you know
how we are, and we've always been like this all
the years together. Yeah, we got it, We got no
hot It sounds yeah. So so also calls to eight
eight eight six Big Box and don't worry about I'll
just take them. You't have to go to screen him
anything because I get times in there working us.
Speaker 3 (10:05):
I don't want to mess him up either. So yeah,
that's yeah, Yeah, we're talking about it. We ringing back
bird of show.
Speaker 6 (10:12):
He is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 1 (10:18):
So if I remember Greg and correct me if I'm wrong,
you have said that men can wear a cap backward
up to the age of thirty thirty one unless you're
African American or black, whichever whichever label you prefer, then
you get to wear a cap backward as an adult
man longer. Yes, that's why it was explained to me.
(10:41):
And if you look around at what you explain to
you now, now who I don't really know who was,
I said, I will now explain, probably creeper Jacks. I
think that sounds like creeper Jackson to me, I'm going
to credit h. Yeah, for sure, sounds like creep Projackson, because.
Speaker 3 (10:55):
Yeah, we all see the white guy trying to be coon.
He's too old, haven't.
Speaker 1 (10:58):
Yeah, neph you need to turn it around to shoot
your gun or you know something, get it out of
the way.
Speaker 3 (11:02):
But when you get it and use it as a
necessory to your outfit.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
Yeah, and you wear it backwards. When I have it
turned around on a four wheeler that doesn't care. Now,
it keeps it from blowing off.
Speaker 3 (11:10):
If it was warmer in a boat something like that,
I might just throw a hunting cap on backwards because
my head.
Speaker 1 (11:15):
Isches, all right, So let me now with that being said,
I would now because this happened a little while ago,
believe it or not, you know, And and I want
one of the things that I definitely want to stop doing.
And I know, Greg, you were the first one to
say this is everybody hears and watches the show in
their own time, but you know live it's it's an
(11:36):
early start. And I do think that, you know, especially
since we have, you know, a job that a lot
of people go.
Speaker 3 (11:42):
Can you really call that work?
Speaker 1 (11:43):
I know none of you consider us martyrs because we
get up early, okay, and problem and we're not the
only people on the planet that get up early. A
lot of people get up early and actually work really hard.
Oh yeah, yeah, so I know, and we know people
like that. And of course you know, Greg, you've experienced
it and all that. But anyway, and so I used
to work hard, Yeah I did, yeah at one time
before this show softened you. So, but this type of
(12:05):
weather was really fun. But anyway, sometimes my wife will
be up when I get up, not not a lot.
So today was a little bit surprising that she was
rolled through the kitchen while I was in there getting
ready to go, and she made a comment and I thought, well,
I've got to ask the guys about this. She goes, oh,
little boys got a hoodie on? And I said what,
(12:26):
I said, what?
Speaker 3 (12:26):
First of all, good move on her, I said, I said,
what did you say? She is, well, I know she
really go on to the hoodies. A lot later and
I said, what's wrong with the hoodie? What's wrong with
the hoodie? And she goes on and she and I
was like, you think I'm too old for a hoodie,
And so that I started thinking to myself, can you
be too old for a hoodie?
Speaker 1 (12:44):
I don't think so, or if you are, okay, it's
like sixty five seventy, we're.
Speaker 3 (12:50):
Great with big puffy hoodie on. Do you know how
I am? That's true. Yeah, you don't have long Hey
I'm sixty. Hey, everybody, we're putting an age on hoodies.
Speaker 1 (12:58):
Now, I know it's a question. It's just a question.
I'm not saying there is an age. I'm asking let
me ask you this time out and and you are
clearly on the age. But like in speed, he's gotten.
I think I got a few the hoodies that are
made like out of that material, real thin thin you
got thin? Now them may have a have a shelf
life phone. No, no, I ain't seen many old guys
with those on.
Speaker 3 (13:17):
That's that's what really. I guess to zip up. Yeah,
it's just like that, but it's got a hood Yeah.
Speaker 1 (13:24):
I started wearing I couldn't wear those, you know, when
I was as Adler made sure he brought up yesterday
when I was three hundred and three pounds, when you
had that done, laud When when and I'm still not thin,
Like I say my goals just to be less fat, Well,
I'll never be I'll never be graduate, I'll never be thin.
But I'm saying when I when I did get thinner, okay,
(13:44):
which I have an update on that today, when I
did get thinner, I realized that wardrobe opened up to
me that was not once available.
Speaker 3 (13:51):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (13:51):
So I started wearing the zip ups, and I started
wearing the hoodies, and and today I just it was
a little snod comment. You were thinking maybe because of
that reason you now you're going back and getting all
the clothes you missed a pro right, I see that's
exactly right, Okay, okay, So yeah, So am I am
I too old to being like just a standard this
(14:13):
cause I know because I know we know this. Our
young sons their hoodie mania.
Speaker 3 (14:18):
Yeah, I mean they.
Speaker 1 (14:19):
Were hoodies every day. They were hoodies when's hot. I
will say this, which is weird. Yeah yeah, I don't
do that. But the hoodie like in this weather. It's
a good it's a good movie.
Speaker 3 (14:28):
I know it is.
Speaker 1 (14:28):
But I'm okay to be sixty in this hoodie with
that hoodie Okay, what about yesterday I wore a man
church hoodie.
Speaker 3 (14:34):
Certainly that was.
Speaker 1 (14:34):
Kah, Yeah, you're found now, am I going to hoodies
too much? Because you know I'm your hoodie heavy? No, well, listen,
I'm also Deep South guy, so we don't get to
wear stuff like that much. But now jackets and now
we're in the deep free so now it's the time
for all Southern there's to.
Speaker 3 (14:49):
Get our our coat stuff out. We don't get to
wear it much.
Speaker 5 (14:51):
And see, and the reason why I would go sometimes
thin hoodie is because I hate being hot inside exactly,
and so you can't dress for the cold and then
being side all day. So the thin hoodie pulls off
it kind of helps with both.
Speaker 3 (15:03):
Which right, let me say this, that's a good point.
Speaker 7 (15:06):
I think if you're over the age of fifty, if
you're wearing a hoodie, you need to be working out
at least once a month, once a month. That way,
you're like, why do you have the hoodie, Well, it's
because I work out once a month.
Speaker 3 (15:19):
That's not that bad.
Speaker 7 (15:20):
Okay, you're not working out once a month. You need
to be switching to a cart again. Yeah, you need
to be switching to a turtleneck. You need to be
switching to something like a librarian.
Speaker 3 (15:29):
Wa hugging on my neck. Oy, Okay, you need to be.
Speaker 7 (15:31):
Wearing something like a librarian or an old man doing
a crossword puzzle.
Speaker 1 (15:35):
And I'm going to say this, I can't believe you
said that. I honestly cannot believe it. You will not
believe what this same woman, my wife, missus bird, just
told me yesterday before the comment a few minutes ago.
Speaker 3 (15:49):
Hey, Ada, you know what she said?
Speaker 12 (15:51):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (15:51):
You know, I know sometimes I don't like to order
clothes online, but I was whatever, and I order you
a couple of things yesterday. And I said, what did
you order me? And she said something about it a shirt?
And I said, okay, great, what kind of shirt? And
she paused, she said, what's a turtleneck? I said, you
order me a turtleneck? And now you now you just
brought that up. Wait a minute, is this some nice
(16:12):
way of me being told that I have to move
into old people clothing?
Speaker 8 (16:17):
Now?
Speaker 5 (16:18):
Now I can't stand the turtle. I can't go mock
turn still. It's kind of hugging a little bit on
your neck.
Speaker 1 (16:24):
Yeah, I can live with the monk, but I can't
live with that, and it's right, It's like yes anyway, Yeah,
the turtleneck. I mean when somebody said I got an idea,
let's make your shirt.
Speaker 3 (16:37):
That chokes people. What about the dickie.
Speaker 1 (16:39):
The thing is the turtleneck is but it only comes
to here and you put it under sweaters and it
makes it look like a turtleneck. But it goes like
you ain't never seen them, the dickies, saying that's what
they're called.
Speaker 3 (16:48):
Okay, that's I know what I'm talking about. All right.
Speaker 7 (16:52):
So, by the way, why would you want to look
like you're wearing I don't know, but you don't get
any of the benefits.
Speaker 1 (16:59):
Makes sense, none of none of the protection, all the
bad fashion.
Speaker 3 (17:04):
I've never warned Dicky. Okay, I'll go there. Dicky's right,
what if you Yeah, that's what they're called. By the way,
this guy taking up with the people who.
Speaker 13 (17:13):
Make I'll tell you this, Dicky makes back to the
Dickies that line, right, it makes great cold weather stuff
like bibs and jackets and you got jeans to their car.
Speaker 3 (17:25):
Heart working. We're back to that again. Yeah, get out
a lot it does. How about the Dicky blues work fans.
You just want to called Dicky blues.
Speaker 1 (17:36):
That's what they are, blue and they're made by Dickey.
Speaker 3 (17:39):
Are people saying what is this? This said it looks
more like you're wearing an ice cream cone or something
that's funny.
Speaker 1 (17:52):
And by the way, yeah, no, that was Richard Simmons.
Speaker 3 (17:56):
How about this. The only thing is because of these
new microphones. This is another day where it's not good
to be a small head. Guy.
Speaker 5 (18:06):
You're looking at me again again. Why is a small
head in these microphones?
Speaker 1 (18:10):
Well, you said that it was covering. If you've got
a smaller head, it's easier to cover.
Speaker 3 (18:13):
Yeah, so they can't cover my big nose. No, Greg
and I have enormous faces and heads. We're fine. I
have noticed your nose hit the microphone twice.
Speaker 7 (18:20):
Greg.
Speaker 3 (18:21):
I have noticed that I'm learning. All right, we'll be ben.
Sound good? Can you hear me? I feel like you can. No,
you sound great. I love these inmokes.
Speaker 1 (18:36):
So we are moving forward with speedy Greg and Ander,
and we look forward to chatting with you today. Could
see another spin of the wheel of Bundle Bits and Bucks.
The debut on Monday, two thousand dollars went out of here.
Speaker 3 (18:51):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (18:52):
So we'll see and that'll be coming up. Could happen
at any time on the program. And I'll tell you
one of the ways that we do this. We might
ask a question on the text line. First one with
the right answer, we call them when we go to
phone segments. We're looking for exceptional callers. If that happens,
we could just declare, let's give that baby a spin.
(19:15):
So no, that's always there. So we mentioned going to
the break last hour, and that is you know, I was,
I was trying to, you know, get caught up. You know,
we've all been on vacation. We're getting back, we're getting
our feet under us. And I said, well, let me
roll around here and get caught up with everything that's
(19:35):
happening with the news. And I know we got the
inauguration coming up. We look, we're all excited. I even
saw my retirement plan. My retirement plan looks excited about Trump.
I can already see it's impacted that, which is great.
You know if you any of you have things in
the market, and and so I'm excited. We all want
it to be smooth. We were all fired up, and
so I'm like, well, let me take a look at
(19:56):
this and I'm like, what in the world is Don
June You're doing in Greenland? And I look, he's in
he's in Greenland and he's partying with But you know
that they're called like Greenlanders or the people in Greenland,
what you call them is a really long name. And
and if I remember this right, because I know we
(20:16):
talked about it for years, If I remember this right,
Iceland is a way to make people not come there,
even though they're green and beautiful, because they didn't want
a bunch of people coming there, so they named it Iceland.
And Greenland is a pr move the other way. We're
really we're really ice and and a lot of difficulty weatherwise,
(20:38):
and we were trying to get people to want to
be here with that name. Now I don't know if
that's folklore or true or not. Okay, but but anyway,
so I start looking and I still can't figure out.
Why is Donald Trump about to be inaugurated and one
of his sons is in Greenland. And also a bunch
of people in Greenland talking about much they love Trump,
(20:58):
how much they love America, And I don't know what's happening.
Then all of a sudden it hits me my goodness,
we're trying to buy Greenland?
Speaker 3 (21:05):
Is that true? Like it said? Yep, I mean how
much y'all want for it? Like it says.
Speaker 1 (21:10):
And then so, so give me some direction on this, guys.
What what what is happening? I know, Speedy you said
this is a race. Now I know how it's being portrayed.
You know on all the media sources that are anti
Trump and anti being conservative and blah blah blah.
Speaker 3 (21:27):
It's all just like a like a broken record.
Speaker 1 (21:30):
This is of course portrayed as he's trying to take
over the world and he wants he wants to go
out and this is all this colonialism again and we're
trying to colonize Canada and colonize now Greenland. But you
were saying, Speedy, no, it's strategic. Now Tyler, do you
have something that we need? What will this help us?
Speaker 7 (21:48):
Here is Trump talking about it?
Speaker 3 (21:50):
All right? Sorry, so here's Trump.
Speaker 14 (21:52):
Well, we need Greenland for national security purposes. I've been
told that for a long time, long before I even ran.
I mean, people been talking about it for a long time.
You have approximately forty five thousand people there. People really
don't even know if Denmark has an illegal right to it.
But if they do, they should give it up because
we needed for nancial security. That's for the free world.
(22:15):
I'm talking about protecting the free world. You look at
you don't even need binoculars. You look outside. You have
China ships all over the place. You have Russian ships
all over the place. We're not letting that happen. We're
not letting it happen. And if Denmark wants to get
to a conclusion, but nobody knows if they even have
(22:37):
any right, title or interest. The people are going to
probably vote for independence or to come into the United States.
But if they did do that, then I would tear
if Denmark at a very high level.
Speaker 3 (22:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (22:50):
Actually he actually posted make Greenland great again?
Speaker 1 (22:56):
You rented out Yeah, okay, So are we straight trying
to get green Yeah?
Speaker 3 (23:01):
Yeah, I did not know.
Speaker 7 (23:02):
There's only fifty six thousand people in Greenland.
Speaker 1 (23:06):
By the way, more people go to college football games.
Okay one game? Yeah, right, okay, So and so and
you said, and he explained a little bit, but you
told me this is bigger than this, is that there's
a lot of things there that would be beneficial to
our country too. Yes, and and Greenland if they find
(23:26):
it to be beneficial. And of course, again according to
which channel you watched, whether they're excited about it or not.
Speaker 3 (23:32):
Denmark did not seem thrill.
Speaker 1 (23:34):
Yeah, I did see them comment they want it, they
want He's not sure as theirs.
Speaker 7 (23:39):
Right, right, there's lots of rare earth metals.
Speaker 3 (23:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (23:42):
Watch so there's lots of resources as well. Didn't know
it's the world's largest island. Didn't know a lot of
stuff about that.
Speaker 4 (23:48):
Didn't know that.
Speaker 3 (23:49):
I didn't know that.
Speaker 5 (23:50):
And they feel he feels like Denmark is close to
striking a deal with China and and they're trying to
get it. Okay, got it, and and kind of well
block him out a little bed and take it.
Speaker 1 (24:00):
Well, I will tell you with with you know, there's
always the good, the bad, the ugly. But the one
thing that I think, hopefully, well I guess we can't.
But one of the things that I think, even if
you sometimes have a hard time with the things of
Trump that you go, the one thing that is comforting
is things like this.
Speaker 3 (24:18):
He I know, the left says, what do you mean
he's a torrant? No, he is.
Speaker 1 (24:22):
Trying to say, let's stop being chumps. Yeah, we are chumps.
We make we make bad deals, my goodness with the
United States of America, and we need to be in
good deals with other countries. We need to have good
trade deals. We need to to be strong militarily, our
border needs to be secure. And uh, and we gotta
(24:43):
we got to stop caring the load for the rest
of the world when it comes to you know, our alliances.
Speaker 3 (24:48):
You know, he really is just a person that says
like like he would be your agent.
Speaker 1 (24:53):
I'm the agent you know that represents you the United
States of America, and I'm going to get them good deals.
You know that that Alan has me excited? Yeah, and
uh and and and how about this. We know that
he's done it before when he was president before. We
know it's not it's not like we don't have anything
to base this on. And and here we here I
go halfway knowing the story. It's never Golf of America
(25:13):
thing real, all right, So yeah, that's been.
Speaker 3 (25:16):
Thrown all right, Golf of Mexico, Golf America, all right.
Speaker 1 (25:19):
So that that's that's video too. That's video too, So
so we have that as well. And while we're at it, so,
so the Gulf of Mexico is going to be renamed
to the Gulf of America.
Speaker 3 (25:31):
That's what do you want? What do you want? Okay?
Speaker 1 (25:34):
So so so here here's Trump.
Speaker 15 (25:37):
We're going to be changing the name of the Gulf
of Mexico to the Gulf of America, which has a
beautiful ring that covers a lot of territory. The Gulf
of America. What a beautiful name. And it's appropriate, it's appropriate.
Speaker 3 (25:56):
Who gets to make that call? You know, I'm just
curious who came up with go from Mexico?
Speaker 7 (26:03):
We do have more, uh, I guess shore line.
Speaker 3 (26:08):
But you know, and beautiful thing.
Speaker 1 (26:11):
And no one, no one is a bigger fan of
this kind of stuff than me. I live for this
kind of stuff. Is he just is he just aggravating?
Speaker 3 (26:18):
That's what I mean? And is he serious? Or is
he just.
Speaker 5 (26:23):
Aggravating the Panama Canal He won't take it back to Canada.
Speaker 3 (26:26):
It was a mad deal.
Speaker 1 (26:27):
Canada falls right another too. Is he just messing around
or is he really asking state?
Speaker 3 (26:32):
Well?
Speaker 1 (26:33):
I am watching some of the and and what do
they call there? They're not called states? Like when you
go to Canada? Is it a providence? What what is
when you go to Devince? Like is a province providence, Rick,
that's God province. So like like Quebec, you know, then
you have all the little things.
Speaker 7 (26:49):
Like Quebec, I mean province and territories.
Speaker 1 (26:52):
Okay, yeah, so it's funny some of the some of
some of the provinces and and the territories are like,
we're not even for sale. You know, He's really but
it feels almost like the guy that knows what gets
under people's skin. Some of it is serious and in
a real pursuit. Some of us just throwing.
Speaker 3 (27:07):
Stuff out there to aggravate, which, of course, you know,
I mean, that's who I am. I don't I don't
mind that at all.
Speaker 5 (27:12):
Right, But he has said that China has secretly taken
over everything, and he said that that stops when he
takes all of us.
Speaker 3 (27:19):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (27:21):
You've got a pocket full of tariffs. And he's not
afraid to you.
Speaker 12 (27:23):
No, he is not.
Speaker 1 (27:25):
H So, and the inauguration is here, it comes. Uh,
we'll be right back more of the Rick Burgess Show continuing.
Thanks for being with us today.
Speaker 6 (27:38):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 1 (27:44):
There there is winter weather that has been affecting people
and will affect people, and.
Speaker 3 (27:49):
Of course there's always the.
Speaker 1 (27:51):
The level of passion and anxiety and concern for people
that have that really understand about winter. They've actually dealt
with winter. They live with winter every year, their winters
are long. But then there's Southerners, and Southerners have an
absolute conniption if you even remotely mention, you know, any
(28:14):
kind of sleet, ice or snow, a complete meltdown. I mean,
just a I mean I'm talking about I laughed yesterday
because you know on your phone now it'll bring up
here's something that happened on this day and your history,
and here's your pictures of it. I was, I laughed,
our poor two of our poor little sons. Chure, he goes, oh,
(28:35):
here's an old picture when Brooks and Brody were little
on a snow day. And I run over there, thinking,
almost see a bunch of snow pictures. Guys, they're literally
standing in our yard and you see brown and it
looks like it looks like it looks like somebody's head
with dandruff. And I'm like, oh, and they're out there
(28:56):
all bundled up, smiling like they're in the snow. And
I was like, how sad are we when it came?
But you know, it's what you're accustomed to. So anyway, Yeah,
there's there's so much variation on this. You know, if
you are a listen on the radio network, your local
affiliate is going to give you your specific information. But
(29:18):
it's always good if we can get him sometimes if
it's a if it's a weather event of any kind,
to just there's nobody better than spam and so, but
even he is saying the kind of details everybody wants.
Speaker 3 (29:29):
So I'm not gonna give those two you.
Speaker 1 (29:31):
Until you know, maybe tomorrow maybe, So we'll So there's
some one of the hardest things spam has taught us.
Speaker 3 (29:39):
There is nothing more.
Speaker 1 (29:40):
Difficult if you're a meteorologist than predicting winter weather. It's
it's almost impossible to give you a detailed this is
what's going.
Speaker 3 (29:49):
To happen, especially way out in front of it.
Speaker 1 (29:51):
Yeah, well so anyway, so we'll see and so what
we may get an update on that. But so the
reason why I mentioned that not just because of that,
but also is because Speedy and are are scheduled to
be out this weekend doing some appearances and speaking and
some of these things. Now, I don't think you've got
(30:12):
a problem at all Speedy because you're down southern Alabama
and I don't think they're gonna have any trouble at all.
But Speedy will be going to you know, once again
be sacrificing his time to deer Hunt on the behalf
of Children coming up this weekend, and he'll be speaking
as well on that Saturday night and that's just for
Morgan Academy. Morgan Academy dot com slash deer Hunt if
(30:35):
you want a register to hear Speedy, and then I'll
be headed to Coldwater, Michigan, Lord Willing on Saturday to
speak to men. I had a cool email yesterday. I
love the reach of the show and what we do
for a living. I never expected, because you know, we
don't have an affiliate or anything at Coldwater, Michigan. I
never imagine a guy would email me and say, Hey,
(30:57):
where do you get a ticket to this?
Speaker 3 (30:58):
I'm coming?
Speaker 1 (30:59):
I'm like really, So anyway, they said they'll have tickets
at the door so that that's not a problem there.
So they find that. But if we can get if
the travel works, I'll be there and then Sunday night,
I'm scheduled to be in one of the areas that
really probably is gonna have a pretty significant deal at
least on Friday. Is Anderson, Alabama. That's in northern Alabama,
(31:22):
and they're basically saying they're going to see how bad
they get it and then make a call on whether
Sunday night it'll all be going or not.
Speaker 3 (31:30):
So we'll see.
Speaker 1 (31:32):
So that's there on Sunday night in that it's first
Baptist Church in Anderson, Alabama. You can find all that
at Rick burgessshow dot com under events except for speedies
because he didn't get it turned in. Yeah, or you
can go to the Maanchurch dot com or Burgess Ministries
dot com and hopefully get to see you this weekend.
All right, So other things to discuss, Greg. This has
(31:52):
been something that has been a bone of contention with you.
What is it you think that the movie Rooty you
actually find Rudy to be annoying?
Speaker 3 (32:04):
You don't. You don't.
Speaker 1 (32:04):
You don't find him ambition, You don't find him to
be inspiring. First of all, you actually find him to
be annoying. Now it worked out for him, I guess,
but boy, he boa arab parsieging my goodness, he pestered
him to death. Yeah, I mean he wouldn't take no
for an answer. But first of all, let me go
back here. Although they've added.
Speaker 3 (32:22):
A lot of stuff. What you gotta do?
Speaker 1 (32:24):
I do like that movie, Well what you're talking about
the real Rudy, and it shows how he was being
a b up, trying to be on the team and
trying to join the pep club.
Speaker 3 (32:32):
When he went him there, he was that, Holy cross,
what are you doing?
Speaker 12 (32:34):
Can do that?
Speaker 1 (32:36):
Mister hero at practice guy? Well, here's a guy agrees
with him. Uh real, Yeah, this guy has has said
that he's the monking debunking the movie and says that
that actually Rudy and this guy that played on the
same team.
Speaker 7 (32:50):
No, this guy just does this like researches movies and
researches the truth behind oh man.
Speaker 1 (32:56):
He says that Rudy is not inspiring, he's annoying. Well, Rudy,
I agree, I know you'd say that.
Speaker 3 (33:01):
Here we go.
Speaker 16 (33:02):
This movie is full of crap. Already made a video
about this, but it bears repeating that. Literally everyone who
played with the real Rudy agrees that he was an
insufferable try hard, not only constantly risk injury to himself,
but was so reckless that he actually put other players
in danger. They'd apparently be like walking through offensive sets like, hey,
we're going ten percent here, and he would just come
(33:24):
at people at one hundred percent and tackle unprepared players
carried him off the field as a joke, because according
to Joe Montana, who was on that team, he was
such a joke to the football program that they like
condescendingly carried him off the field and so the jersey
scene never happened. That's coach Dan Devine's idea to have
(33:45):
members of the practice squad dress for that last game.
Real Dan Devine openly hated how he was portrayed in
this movie. Oh yeah, his family was also super supportive
of him throughout his lives. Even been rumored that members
of Rudy's extended family were actually really unhappy with him.
His brother was portrayed in the movies integral character to
the plot, just isn't a real person. The only reason
(34:06):
this movie exists is because the real Rudy like new
friends of friends of people in Hollywood and just incessantly
campaigned for years to have this life story made. Yes,
this movie is very good, very inspirational, and also just
total thing.
Speaker 3 (34:22):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (34:23):
Okay, Greg, there there opportunity. What a day for you.
I missed my opportunity. This guy took my spot going
around to all these movies and what I tell you
about the Jersey saying I told you all that from
day one.
Speaker 3 (34:35):
That's me. He believed, because he believe that. I just
know I'm watching a movie.
Speaker 1 (34:39):
But but now I will say this, I do enjoy
that movie, right and again almost in a and it's
a two to two sided blade here almost I enjoy it.
But also the fact that it's such a bit up
to me, and there's some stupid stuff. It's like we're
talking about that sore tooth you keep pushing. Yes, I
kind of want to be irritated too. It gives me
both sure, all right, yeah, so yeah, you with this guy? Okay,
(35:02):
I like it. Yeah, Well he's gone further than we've heard.
I mean, we knew the things in the movie that
people caring him offense right as a joke. I don't
know about that any quoted Joe Montana. When we come back,
we go phone calls next. Here's your opportunity. We've hit
a number of topics already. You can comment on any
of them. Eight eight eight six Big Box eight eight
(35:24):
eight six Big Box. We chat with you America when
The Rick Burgess Show continues right after this.
Speaker 6 (35:30):
This is The Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 1 (35:36):
Going to go into a little bit in the next hour,
probably so, but I do want to give you this
update first. So we're now seventeen days away from the
beginning of the Man Church Conferences in twenty twenty five. Okay,
we started these with one conference in twenty twenty three,
then we did two conferences in twenty twenty four, and
(35:58):
now you know, we're doing three this year, and that's
probably about all we can do, and three may be
a bit of a lofty goal, but anyway, we have
them this year. They're all doing great. We got great
lineup of speakers at all three of them, different lineup
at each one. Andy Blanks and I will be at
all of them. Chuck Hooton will do worship at all
of them, and Speedy Greg and hopefully Adler. He has
(36:21):
smaller kids so it's harder for him to commit to
all of them. But we're going to also have all
the guys from the show at these conferences. So I
want to give you an update. You can go to
the Manchurch Dot com. It will be an automatic discount.
But right now we really want to encourage groups of
men to go to any of them, all of them, whatever,
So we have put together if you go right now
(36:41):
and you buy a block of tickets ten tickets are more,
you're going to get an automatic discount ten dollars off
per ticket. So that's big savings on a group of ten.
So all you have to do is order ten or
more at any of the three in the discount will
be automatic. So you can do that at the Manchurch
dot Com. Irmingham coming up in January, and then we
(37:02):
have Panama City would be next the twenty first and
twenty second of February, and then Atlanta the twenty eighth
in March. First find all those details the speakers, hotel
blocks and everything at the Manchurch dot Com and we
are really really looking forward to those now. That's something
we're looking forward to. But here's something that is ugly.
(37:22):
If you're out there in our audience and you've ever
dealt with a government agency, if you've ever dealt with
Social Security, lord help you, I mean, Lord help you.
We've been through this with our mom after dad passed speedy,
I understand your knee deep and social security right now,
I am, I am, and and it's a party.
Speaker 3 (37:44):
Yeah it is.
Speaker 5 (37:45):
And I don't want this to come across like I'm complaining,
but it's just real.
Speaker 1 (37:49):
I don't know how that's going to happen. I think
you're just pointing out how inefficient this is and why
we would want the government to run anything is.
Speaker 5 (37:57):
Beyond me, right, because I know a lot of you
are probably dealing with this same thing, and the two
of you, as you just mentioned, y'all have been through it,
uh and everything. But I've I've been tasked with handling
the affairs of my aunt Lee, who passed away during
the Hunt summit UHS yesterday.
Speaker 3 (38:13):
I bet you felt very comforted.
Speaker 5 (38:15):
About it, right, right, And so I'm I'm going through
the process, and we've received the death certificates and and
just one by one going to different services and canceling
this and moving this. And today's a big huntsful trip.
I We're meeting with banks and cell phone services and
they're just going in and doing things and it's just
(38:37):
it's just a checklist. Well, one of the one of
the big ones is social security uh and the Social
Security Administration UH ANT Lee left behind my cousin Lisa,
who is homebound and was fully dependent on ant Lee,
and the will and Testament states that my mom and
dad are now guardians. I'm next in line, and uh,
(38:58):
we're executors on the wheel and stuff like that. So
I'm kind of we're trying to handle all that well. Uh,
part of the Social Security Administration deal is just making
sure that things are set up right and accounts and
where this goes and benefits and Lisa and everything, and
so it's just it's just moving parts and trying to
get them all into the same room. And so we
(39:19):
need an in person with SoC Security.
Speaker 3 (39:23):
And uh, I know.
Speaker 5 (39:24):
Some of you are going, oh boy, because you might
have you might have been. And so you go to
the website you know, do do do? And there's certain
things that I don't know, like her portal into that
I don't know certain information, So I can't do a
lot of this online. So you know, I go through
and I, you know, are what why do you need
a meeting?
Speaker 3 (39:40):
I need this? I need this?
Speaker 5 (39:41):
Oh you got a call okay, you know, Bob call
eight hunder line. You know, you listen to two minutes
worth of messages and you know, why do you why
do you want to talk?
Speaker 3 (39:50):
Well?
Speaker 5 (39:51):
And I tell them average wait time okay, one hundred
and twenty minutes.
Speaker 3 (39:57):
That's that's two hours. I have set through two of those.
That's a movie.
Speaker 5 (40:03):
Yeah. Yesterday, I said, I'm all in. I was doing
stuff around the house. I said, I'm putting my AirPods
in my ear. I'm calling that number because they say
you have to talk to an agent to schedule an
in person, and so it says again an average wait
time one hundred and twenty minutes. That was three o'clock.
(40:25):
I said, I'm just going to go in and I'm
just going to do stuff.
Speaker 3 (40:27):
All the time.
Speaker 5 (40:29):
I want y'all to understand I am not exaggerating. My
AirPods lost battery. It went so you ran out of
battery on holy yeah. At six pm. That's three hours later.
I was still listening to the same music, the same
lady that came on and said, at the end of
your call with your agent, please hang on and let
(40:49):
us know your opinion on how things win.
Speaker 3 (40:51):
I said, like, well, I can't wait for that. That
almost makes you want to wait.
Speaker 5 (40:55):
And I don't know what to do because we've got
to get it in person, and I mean quick.
Speaker 3 (41:05):
A lot of you are letting us know Rick's picks.
Speaker 1 (41:10):
A lot of these salt after you know, recipes are
there now and if I'm not mistaken, and cause we
got speedy Greg and Adler here, we did get your
wife Terry's protein balls in there.
Speaker 3 (41:24):
Too, do we Is that there?
Speaker 1 (41:26):
So anyway, you got a lot of things you hear
us talk about there. Also, you can enjoy on our
YouTube channel the first episode of Tales from Camp House
the Business Summit. Getting great feedback on that, Wow, huge
response to that. Greg even said that Jack the guy
that wants to be wanting to hunt with us forever,
so show hunt Jack now feels like he's been there.
(41:47):
He's been hunting with us by watching the documentary episode
one is there There'll be two episodes and you can
go grab that now if you haven't watched it.
Speaker 3 (41:56):
It's about ada.
Speaker 1 (41:57):
If I'm right, what about eighteen nineteen minutes long like that?
So it's not terribly long and you can find time
for that. It's it's how about it's a lot shorter
than being on hold for Social Security so much so
here's from the text line and you can text us
at eight eight eight six Big Box as well are
six two four four eight six nine, Hey, speedy, did
(42:19):
the Social Security number not give you the option to
let them call you back?
Speaker 17 (42:22):
Now?
Speaker 3 (42:22):
Greg, And I told you going to the break that
for our mother. They did.
Speaker 1 (42:25):
Now, look, you're working on this stuff right now. Even
if that option is there, Do not think they're calling
you back this week. I mean we're talking a month, okay, said,
I'm dealing with this nightmare that is this government agency.
It took them all day to call me back, all right,
So they did get a call back in a day.
Now mom got scheduled for it. She had to schedule
(42:46):
for like a month, so inefficient. Wondering if the new
administration is going to clean this up.
Speaker 3 (42:52):
I don't know. I hope so.
Speaker 5 (42:54):
But it did not give me the one eight hundred
and seven seven two twelve thirteen, which is the National
Security Administration line and that says this is what to
call when we're in the situation we're in. It did
not give me an option to, hey, we'll call you
back if you'll give us a punch in your number
and we'll just call you back.
Speaker 3 (43:12):
It did not.
Speaker 5 (43:13):
It did not offer that. So unfortunately, I just waited
and waited and waited, and I think they closed on me.
I think at the end of the day they just closed.
Where did you get the number from their website?
Speaker 3 (43:25):
Yeah? Yeah, so security.
Speaker 1 (43:26):
So if anybody can help Speedy in his family. But
it's a government agency. How how do any of you
out there? And I know, just please help me to
understand how we can deal with these inefficient government agencies.
And some of you want us to have government run healthcare?
Can you imagine what's wrong with you? How can you
(43:47):
possibly think that? Uh So, anyway, now I'm dealing with
that like you're doing with this Social security.
Speaker 5 (43:53):
Yeah, and help and look, it might be that that
those on the other side of the wall that work
there go, Hey, you have no idea what we deal with.
That's why the weight. So that's fine, but it's just
the system that's broken. It's not you know, I'm sure
there's great people now. I have been told though, But yeah,
things will go well. It all depends on who you get. Well, see,
that shouldn't be that. That shouldn't be the case. You know,
that shouldn't be the case. But hopefully this will work out.
(44:15):
And some of you have being so kind and emailing
and uh just want this result for you know, ant Lee,
and do by doing you know, doing it right by her.
And then and then her daughter Lisa, who by the way,
is my same age. She's fifty six years old and
it's such a sweetheart.
Speaker 1 (44:29):
And of course what I've done for Speedy's family is
offered to cook them camp house breakfast.
Speaker 3 (44:34):
It would be nice, that would be nice.
Speaker 7 (44:36):
This is so strange because the government is usually so
good at doing stuff.
Speaker 3 (44:41):
This.
Speaker 1 (44:42):
Yes, their resume is so impressive. Yeah, all right, So
La is on fire and I don't I don't mean
looking at it right now.
Speaker 3 (44:50):
I don't mean Louisiana.
Speaker 1 (44:52):
I mean Los Angeles now, as we all know, and
we've talked about this before it was even featured in
the movie.
Speaker 3 (44:57):
But be dazzled.
Speaker 1 (44:59):
Is that a lot of us feel like if Satan
has got like a home office in the United States
of America, it's probably Los Angeles.
Speaker 3 (45:06):
But it's so But Los Angeles.
Speaker 1 (45:08):
Is on fire. And we don't mean like sort of
kind of, no, I mean really really on fire. I know, Adam,
you've got a number.
Speaker 5 (45:16):
Of videos here and it's the Hollywood elite. They're being
hit hard. I mean some of them, like Ben Affleck
and others are coming home and everything's on fire.
Speaker 3 (45:26):
That overhead shot is that is Are they saying that
from mile prior? Wind? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (45:32):
What?
Speaker 12 (45:33):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (45:33):
Yeah? So any times.
Speaker 7 (45:36):
I've got a lot of clips here of b roll
but and and talking about the wind. A lot of
these clips just are just because the wind is blown.
Speaker 3 (45:44):
Understood.
Speaker 7 (45:44):
But here's Mike Rowe as everything was kind of getting going.
Speaker 3 (45:48):
About a dirty job.
Speaker 7 (45:49):
Yes, yeah, here's Mike row who is from l A.
Speaker 17 (45:57):
And the situation is not good. I got here a
few hours ago. I thought it was FuG I hadn't
heard any reports of a fire. But it's been burning
since about ten thirty this morning, and you can see it.
It's happening over there in real time in the Palisades.
The wind is blowing. I just heard from a good
friend of mine who lost everything she owns. Her house
(46:20):
is gone, and the wind's not gonna stop.
Speaker 7 (46:24):
Yeah, so as you can hear, very very windy. And
that's as things were starting to get going there.
Speaker 5 (46:29):
Could you imagine what his voice sounded would sound like
in these mics?
Speaker 1 (46:32):
Oh except for Greg let me tell you I hate
taking him back a few years when to me Mike,
He's like, he's one of those kind of people like
when he shows up, I think.
Speaker 3 (46:45):
Your things will be okay.
Speaker 1 (46:46):
Yeah, Greg, Yes, he's one of those people of things good.
Mike's here, you you want to hang out with him.
It's Mike coming, you know, And then when he gets there,
you're like, I'm so glad Mike's here. I know he's
a calming person. He really can you feel like now,
why he wants to wear that hat with no logo,
I don't know. But but when he's but he's he's
a calming force.
Speaker 7 (47:07):
Is I want to just like hang out with like
stand next to him with a hat on too, like
I want to wear a hat. We're both wearing hats,
just hanging out, right.
Speaker 3 (47:14):
Didn't he do kind of hing next to each other?
Oh boy looking sharp?
Speaker 12 (47:18):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (47:18):
Didn't he kind of do?
Speaker 4 (47:19):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (47:20):
I guess it was a podcast almost like the rest
of the story, Paul Harvey, we would have these.
Speaker 3 (47:25):
Nice how about you with that?
Speaker 7 (47:29):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (47:32):
I just listened to one so how to get it?
But enjoyed that one. So what's the plan? What's the plan? Uh?
For the I mean la is burning?
Speaker 1 (47:41):
We have to as you said, mentioned Ben Afflett looks
shocked as he returns home and sees this. Uh, the
the fire advancing on. I guess one of the houses,
one of the houses he has there. We we know
they're fighting this fire. Uh, this is like a major ordeal, right,
I mean, this is try.
Speaker 7 (48:00):
A plan there was. It's almost like there was no plan.
There's the fire. Hydrants are running out of water because
they didn't fill the reservoirs beforehand. This shot here is
a road in California with just abandoned cars as far
as you can see, because these people were stuck in
traffic trying to evacuate. And every single car you're looking
at here represents a person or a family that got
(48:21):
out and on their feet, just decided to try to
flee from this fire, just on their feet because traffic
was so bad.
Speaker 3 (48:28):
That picture, you're in traffic, and I've been there. Here comes.
Speaker 1 (48:31):
I've never been in traffic like that because in a
while fire. But I have been in traffic before. While
I was willing to abandon my vehicle just be done.
Speaker 3 (48:39):
Well, let's go back to Snowmageddon.
Speaker 1 (48:41):
The people exactly what happened. Of course, I had the
round fifteen hundred, so I got home.
Speaker 5 (48:45):
Yeah, but you remember around in the corner and people
were walking like it was the walking down.
Speaker 1 (48:50):
No, I do, and I remember one of the things
that was keeping people who had vehicles that could that
could make it in the winter weather. Of course, I
know there's more coming this weekend for a lot of you.
They were the problem, the ones that couldn't, because those
are those of us that had vehicles that could do it.
They were stopping us, not the weather radler and I
tried to go rescue Kevin.
Speaker 3 (49:12):
Yeah, and I remember that, but we couldn't.
Speaker 1 (49:14):
We had no problem with getting around, but we couldn't
get all the vehicle that's stuck vehicles.
Speaker 7 (49:19):
Here is an airplane dropping water as they are starting,
as they were starting to try to contain this thing.
But this is a great drop by the way. The
wind even carries the water onto the fire. But you
can tell it's to no avail because we have y' all.
The videos are coming in of people inside their homes. No,
please look at this.
Speaker 3 (49:40):
This is just.
Speaker 7 (49:43):
He's in a grill. It's like he's inside of a barbecue.
Speaker 3 (49:49):
This is going to end, guys.
Speaker 7 (49:51):
There are there are so many videos just like this
on the internet. Where people see the flames get to
their home and they say, well, I guess now we
really have to leave.
Speaker 3 (50:00):
Oh that's awful. Man.
Speaker 5 (50:01):
For those of you can't see every window he's showing,
there's blazes. It's just flames, flames.
Speaker 3 (50:07):
I saw that.
Speaker 1 (50:08):
I didn't see it literally, but I saw that same
look around my house figuratively when I was having to
take Christmas decorations.
Speaker 3 (50:13):
Then yeah, right, you can't say that I'm in hell
right now. I mean, it's a.
Speaker 7 (50:20):
Here's another guy, please look at look at what it
looks like outside. It's just it's just it's just apocalyptic.
Speaker 3 (50:28):
Wow, what do you do?
Speaker 1 (50:30):
I mean, y'all remember the video when Gatlinburg caught on
fire and the video of the people in the car
trying to get out where they turned in flames.
Speaker 5 (50:38):
Yeah, I'm not gonna complain about the soci security department anymore.
Speaker 8 (50:40):
No.
Speaker 1 (50:41):
I don't even think I'm going to complain about about
the wintery mix either.
Speaker 7 (50:46):
No, no, no, no, unbelievable praying, praying for everybody out there,
My goodness.
Speaker 3 (50:53):
That's horrible. So uh so there it is.
Speaker 1 (50:56):
So you got all kinds of things going on, but that, uh,
I need to know what the people do they're in
these houses?
Speaker 3 (51:02):
Tell me they left. We'll be right back.
Speaker 6 (51:05):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 1 (51:17):
Twenty two minutes now past the hour. Thanks for being
with us. So those of you that aren't watching on YouTube,
request from the fat chancey do mister Lucky And so
it's it's been funny because we were using some of
(51:38):
that for some of the new intros and it's kind
of it's got mister Lucky fans again starting to a
murmur campaign, murmur campaign. So I mean, you know, look,
you don't want one mess with the memories. So so
we'll see, uh. But anyway, working our way back. Also
a lot of things that were because we were trying
(51:59):
to take into account feedback. I mean, we love feedback,
we love we love suggestion, and we're not really crazy
about deranged people and clearly the mentally ill. But but
the one of the things if you remember, and and
look we know it was, it was something it was
a bit of a bip and is that people over
the years were complaining, you know, because you want to
(52:21):
take the things that were loved and you know that,
and you got things that have an end date, you
get rid of those and and then you go, you
know what, we're not too old. It's hard to teach,
you know, an old dog new trick. If you don't
believe that, just ask our syndicator that's asked me to
move the live spot every hour and I keep forgetting
But uh but anyway, the because it was just locked in,
it's it's boy, it's off the spot now. But one
(52:44):
of the things is people, and I know this was
shocking saying that it wasn't all that desirable. Uh, for them,
are a great experience to watch us or listen to
us eat.
Speaker 3 (52:56):
I actually enjoyed it.
Speaker 1 (52:57):
Yeah, I know, I know that, you know, from someone
who can't watch the elderly eat, I get that a
little bit. Honestly, let's just be honest. People eating in
general is not really all that pleasant to watch.
Speaker 3 (53:10):
Not entertaining. It's not entertaining, and.
Speaker 1 (53:12):
It's really a little bit disgusting, especially when you you're
hearing someone work through their food. Yeah.
Speaker 7 (53:21):
But then there's those weird people that watch that like
watch it because they like are into it.
Speaker 3 (53:26):
Are you talking some sort of like I'm.
Speaker 7 (53:28):
Not talking about like like you know, get some going,
but like people watch it just because.
Speaker 3 (53:34):
It gets them going watch it, watch that.
Speaker 7 (53:38):
Yeah, I'm not saying it like that.
Speaker 1 (53:42):
It is. It takes me a minute to embrace it.
But I got you get some goings. Not that's not
that bad. Yeah, sure, But so what's funny, tough, what's
funny now is we don't do music radio, even though
I'm ready to go if I need to, but so
so you might so we you know, I remember back
in the days of being a hint ruck and DJ
(54:03):
Hidrug and D thirteen ninety as, I remember being a
hot rock and DJ. I mean, if I needed to
eat a meal or go take a seat on the
porcelain throne, you just you just start, you just start
American Pie as a loan, Yeah, and said, we don't
have that option because we do a talk show, which
means five minutes and six minutes is all there is.
(54:24):
There's a six minute break at the top, there's five
minute breaks throughout the rest of the hour, and that's it.
And so watching us say, because we made the commitment,
I think we're done with those of you who watch
the show, and even those that can hear us chewing
and smacking that that you probably didn't like that. If
we're going to make some adjustments. Now is the time.
(54:46):
But watching all of us try to eat now out
of cameras and off microphones is hilarious.
Speaker 3 (54:53):
It is.
Speaker 1 (54:54):
And some of the places we're picking, it's owning me. Okay,
right now, I saw a manuy Ago Gregul literally ducking
down in the callscreening your room, trying to eat his breakfast.
That's what I'm saying. I tried that, and now I
keep looking at it from here. Yeah, I know it's there.
Speaker 3 (55:09):
Yeah, Well, I'll tell you what. The bacon was crispy
this morning, and I can think about right now, it's
a bacon.
Speaker 1 (55:15):
Well, you know, sitting here in the one in the
one seat for a long long time, I remember that
helpless feeling when you're in the one seat.
Speaker 3 (55:22):
Now, in the one seat, there's no.
Speaker 1 (55:24):
Looking at your computer, there's no keeping around with your phone,
there's no you know, working on things you need to
do after the show. The one seat has to have
something going. You have to literally be saying something. And
I know a lot of times, you know, there's a
lot of knocks against all of us individuals, and sometimes
a knock against me is well Rick, he just his
talks all the time. Well, I want you to know.
(55:46):
Sometimes I don't desire to talk. I just look around
and everybody's abandoned me, right and and one of those
things was was eating. I would literally look around and
everybody had pushed their mic of their chewing lane.
Speaker 3 (56:01):
You don't want to hear that, and the mics, the mics,
you're not even in eybody's face.
Speaker 1 (56:05):
I mean, everybody has gone all in on whatever food
was here. So we did make that adjustment. But I'll
be honest with you, honest with you, it's killing us
a little bit.
Speaker 17 (56:14):
It is.
Speaker 1 (56:14):
Now. What I tried to do unsuccessfully. I get that
in the past is I would watch the monitor and
when it wasn't on me, I would eat great, and
then when it came back on me, I would stop
right now every now and then, probably more than I admit,
it didn't work out, but I did try. Now I
did get But now, if you see me eating during
the break, if we have the live going on with you,
just get over that.
Speaker 3 (56:34):
Yeah, hit over. You're saying that's too big an ask.
Speaker 1 (56:37):
Yeah, I'm sorry. I'm gonna try my best to you know,
stay in the call screen room.
Speaker 5 (56:40):
If that works out well, Our landing spot is anything
with counterspace.
Speaker 3 (56:44):
So you know in the production room.
Speaker 5 (56:46):
Call screening room, we were piled up in there, pushing
keyboards back, standing up, trying to eat.
Speaker 3 (56:52):
Y'all.
Speaker 7 (56:53):
This may be a bad decision for us to try
to keep it off the air. We might want to
put it on the air because I'm reading this as
a Korean term. It's called muck bang and it refers
to YouTube videos of people eating and talking about their meal.
So muck bang is a combination of the words eating
and broadcast. Millions of people are hungrily watching I get
(57:16):
it next.
Speaker 3 (57:16):
Segment, bang bang, No, no, no, you're gonna take a
few calls and bane. Hey, guys, I'm calling in.
Speaker 1 (57:32):
I'm gonna sell you something watching you guys are all
through those scrambled eggs.
Speaker 3 (57:40):
At back. Give me.
Speaker 1 (57:44):
Somebody's like it falls off the fort and I try
to catch it there.
Speaker 3 (57:49):
Hey, let me ask you something. Speed is that toe
story there?
Speaker 15 (57:52):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (57:52):
I gotta ask you a whole week? What is it right?
Little that little.
Speaker 7 (58:00):
People are doing it with easy? People are are like
look easy. A lot of times. It's discussed a lot
of times. It's large, large amounts of unhealthy food. It's
a very popular trend and it's so bad. People are
doing it to come back combat loneliness or because they're
they're freaking Also, I go.
Speaker 3 (58:19):
Back to what I said, look like bang there, thank
you Greg?
Speaker 7 (58:24):
His name Greg.
Speaker 3 (58:25):
I just like to say that.
Speaker 1 (58:27):
I think Greg, we could get muck bang the rest
of the day.
Speaker 3 (58:30):
You better be glad we don't have interns. And that's
would be named muk bank. That would be so bad,
so bad.
Speaker 1 (58:38):
Uh good, we're in this segment. I can go finish
my breakfast. That's right, right, Watch Greg, Watch Greg ride
right in there and try to lay down. All right,
we'll be right back bottom of the hour.
Speaker 6 (58:52):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 3 (58:59):
They were back hour back to hoodies about your face? Though,
when can you pull a hoodie over your head? I
can't run with Adler. Are you back to doing better yet?
Speaker 7 (59:09):
I've almost started.
Speaker 3 (59:10):
Yeah, since November. But other than that.
Speaker 7 (59:15):
Late December, early December, how about?
Speaker 3 (59:18):
How about?
Speaker 1 (59:18):
I was so concerned about it that even Sherry was
kind of like, but everything okay worked today?
Speaker 3 (59:23):
I was like, yeah, yeah, sure, it was a very
productive day. Well what what what's I said, I'm about to.
Speaker 1 (59:29):
Have to work out and uh and and she was
kind of acting weird about it, and I'm like, well, honey,
do you you were with me for the last three weeks?
Speaker 3 (59:37):
It did I look like a health nut? And uh?
Speaker 1 (59:40):
And we all agreed that I didn't, and so got
off track a little bit. Ill tell you what what
I was. I was the I was the guy that
that stopped going to the A meetings. Oh okay, when
of his buddies called him up, yeah, somebody somebody said, no,
but he's got coffee pinch over here, poal, come join us.
Fee punch was brought up. Coffee punch was brought up.
(01:00:03):
Sure was, That's why we only do it once a year.
So I thought I thought I would be I thought
I would be okay because my wife, who now has
a broken foot, still cannot do a full workout or
anything for another three weeks or so. So I thought, well,
I'm free. At least I won't have my beautiful, loving
(01:00:26):
number one earthly Priority also known as Tattletale with me,
who for some reason becomes co trainer every time that
we try to do something. I said, well, at least
I can just go in there and I can face
you know, Mike, and just you know, I can.
Speaker 3 (01:00:42):
Do my own way, you know.
Speaker 1 (01:00:46):
And and all of a sudden she says, you know what,
you know I can do upper body. I think I'm
gonna go ahead and just you know, I'll adapt the
workout on things I can and can't do. But I
think I am going to go today. I'm like, you're
going to be with me? And she God, yeah, I'm
gonna be with you. And I thought all I thought
of was here comes Now she not only would is
(01:01:07):
a tattletale. Even when she's doing the workout with me. Hey,
he's not doing all his reps, Rick, you're supposed to
call you're you're not supposed to lay there. You're supposed
to a push up, you go right, You're he's laying that.
He's laid on the stomach in between push ups, you know.
And and I'm like, now she's really gonna be able
to tattle tell even more because a lot of the
(01:01:27):
workout should He'll be like, well, you can't do this,
so she'll just be sitting there, you know, or or
she'll do something that will get over quicker than counter.
Speaker 3 (01:01:37):
Over here, Rick, your burpies.
Speaker 1 (01:01:39):
Yeah, and so she's gonna count as so so anyway,
so the minute no rep the minute Might walked in.
Speaker 3 (01:01:45):
I mean, it really did. It felt like I hope
I'm never in this situation. I really do. But I
you know that you've heard this comment before. I'm sitting
on death.
Speaker 1 (01:01:54):
Row and you're just waiting, you know, you're just waiting
for them to come over and say, all right, get up.
And he walked into that room, and I was just
liked Mike, and I tried to divert. You know how
you been man? How did your holidays go? So tell
me about how we've been doing the last three weeks.
You know, we sent you in homeworkouts, you've been doing
you in home workouts?
Speaker 3 (01:02:17):
Right?
Speaker 1 (01:02:18):
Well, I said, have you ever done in homework? Well,
I said, let me tell you why. I said yes,
because I did once. You're a liar, because that's why Rick, no,
because I had actually done one. And so you know
how people how we are.
Speaker 3 (01:02:33):
That's out. Yeah. And then of course, what what did
I get from tattletale? When did you do one? And
I was like, I did one? Honey? Is that day
you weren't.
Speaker 1 (01:02:41):
Here and you just did one? And then she and
then she was like, I've had a broken foot. I've
been here every day and I'm like, you remember that
time I went down here and did that work out
and then it really I did, really did do one straight.
Speaker 3 (01:02:53):
Let me tell you that's it you.
Speaker 18 (01:02:57):
Two years.
Speaker 1 (01:02:58):
Yeah, I don't know if you if you've seen me,
but I've had a personal trainer for a long time.
It's myself. Let me tell you, a very very lenient
personal trainer. I mean I had fifty or when I
was my own personal trainer. You know what about what
I said to myself, that's good? Yeah, yeah, I know
it says under twelve reps four it looks great for
and uh and so I know you should probably be
(01:03:20):
using heavier way see you still you know what my
you know, my former personal trainer, which was me, said
I just keep using the tens.
Speaker 3 (01:03:26):
Yeah, man, you're good with You're good. You're bringing a
little it right.
Speaker 1 (01:03:31):
So it was an uh and I know, like I'm
sitting here right now and speedy you mentioned this. I
know that I'm not sore right now as I'm going
to be tomorrow. Oh yeah, but it was an ugly
day and it was the old body had had not
It was I felt like the ten man and and
(01:03:52):
I was like, where.
Speaker 3 (01:03:52):
Is the oil? I mean it was. It was awful.
If you came and pulled me in the chest right now,
I might fold.
Speaker 1 (01:03:58):
Yeah, and mister Burgess, mister bird, just go go ahead,
go hey, go on that line going down and touch
your knee. I said, hey, buddy, I love you somebody.
If I could do that, I would.
Speaker 3 (01:04:08):
I'm not. I'm not.
Speaker 1 (01:04:09):
I'm not loafing right now. Physically can't do it. Yeah,
I'm not going against what you're trying to do right,
Physically cannot do that. This is all I got right,
I'm giving you everything i've got today. Why is he
not going all the way down?
Speaker 3 (01:04:21):
And I'm not.
Speaker 1 (01:04:22):
I'm like, don't shouldn't you be doing some sort of
yea upper body workout?
Speaker 3 (01:04:27):
Yeah? Is there something you can do with that boot?
Speaker 1 (01:04:30):
Of course I was told something that she wanted to
do with the boot anatomically impossible. But yeah, uh so yeah,
that's that was. And you know what he said, this
was going to tell you, and I hope your wife's
listening and watching or whatever.
Speaker 3 (01:04:42):
Oh boy, he goes, uh, what's up? What are chocolate
biscuits and coffee punch? Wait a minute?
Speaker 1 (01:04:49):
And I was like, well, you don't need no about
well you care about cop tell me about coffee punch.
You gotta celebrate, I said, I said, I have a
lot of coffee punch. Man me tell moderation man, five
or six cups all things in moderation.
Speaker 3 (01:05:03):
They're really small cups. Yeah they were. It's just but
you have a bunch of them. Though. Phone calls are next.
We chat with you, and.
Speaker 1 (01:05:10):
Look, I'm telling you, if a phone call happens that
we get fired up about somebody brings something to the table,
we might spend that old wheel of bundles, bits and bucks.
Speaker 3 (01:05:20):

So you do get a best of iur on Blaze TV.
And as I mentioned earlier in the program, maybe another
project coming as well. We'll talk more about that if
it becomes a little more real. Also a big announcement
(01:06:24):
on the thirty one years of the Rick and Bubbas Show.
We got something brewing there involving greatest hits that we
think that you'll love as well. One thing I do
want to let you know about it, and I found
out yesterday and I was not thrilled by this.
Speaker 3 (01:06:40):
I was very disappointed.
Speaker 1 (01:06:42):
Apparently somebody dropped the ball on the last Rick and
Bubba CD run me as ee and shut her down.
And it's not on streaming yet not because there's been
a delay. It was never turned in. So I found
that out yesterday. Was very disappointed in that. And so
that is being resolved today. So should get there, you know,
(01:07:05):
in the next couple week or so. And as soon
as I know, I'll let you know. So, uh, there's
you some updates on what's happening and uh and and
getting you updated on a few current things. Wednesday Bible
Study is back today. We were just discussing in the break.
You know, Greg is excited about the Wednesday Bible Study
because he thinks, Don Dae, we're bringing peanuts again. He's
(01:07:27):
been complaining that he has it has been three weeks
that he's had peanuts.
Speaker 3 (01:07:30):
I miss that right.
Speaker 1 (01:07:31):
And then we also realize that our new basketball goal.
Some of the older fellas are not gonna like that
at all. They're gonna hate that. You think this is
the first day for these guys to be back in
the studio, They're going to hate that.
Speaker 3 (01:07:43):
Adam, do you think you'll take some heat?
Speaker 2 (01:07:44):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (01:07:45):
I mean it can fold up. But I mean also,
you know, maybe some of the younger guys are gonna
want to warm up with That's true.
Speaker 1 (01:07:51):
Thank you for putting we can adjust a couple of seats.
Speaker 3 (01:07:56):
Yeah, I want you all to picture this.
Speaker 1 (01:07:58):
He has taken and put a dual basketball go and
competition form and now a studio that usually has four
dudes today it'll have thirty. Okay, can you imagine the
chaos that's going to break out in here?
Speaker 9 (01:08:12):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (01:08:12):
Yeah, they can go, they can move into your couch,
Adler and something like that.
Speaker 7 (01:08:16):
Well, yeah, no, I don't want them in my area right. Hey,
by the way, about the basketball goals, a little quick
heads up. After you play the game, After you do
you touch the basketballs, wash your hands before you eat,
because when you touch the balls, there's like a rubber
taste or something. If you if I just ate.
Speaker 3 (01:08:38):
A burritos.
Speaker 7 (01:08:43):
And Greggs might so, yeah, wash your hands after you
touch the basketball. Why because you get like a rubber
taste in your mouth. There's no there save your jokes.
Speaker 1 (01:08:55):
No worried about y'all's nasty hands from because none of
y'all wash your hands in the bathroom. I'm worried about
that morning.
Speaker 3 (01:09:02):
I do the not do that. If you want to
explain it, I will. It's easy. It takes about ten seconds.
I'll explain it.
Speaker 5 (01:09:09):
Okay, you off touching that door knob. Everybody else walks
out in old nasty So.
Speaker 3 (01:09:13):
You want you want you want to answer? Sure? I
love to hear it.
Speaker 1 (01:09:16):
I find that interesting about that, because what's the last
thing you do before you go out? Maybe it's not
wash your hands, it's it's it's it's opened the door knob.
But I hope Okay, okay, so that's simple. So that's
now about defeatedn't it?
Speaker 3 (01:09:30):
Okay? Right? No, that I was going to say nasty.
Speaker 1 (01:09:32):
No, No, I can't believe you don't watch it when
I when I go to use the restroom, I'm talking
about number one. Yeah, that's yes, I know where this
is being I got no idea where that false has
been and who's been around it?
Speaker 3 (01:09:44):
What does that means?
Speaker 1 (01:09:45):
So what I just so, what I've just done is
cleaner than that nasty faucet over there. That's not true percent.
How do you know who's been in there? Do you
who's had your hands.
Speaker 3 (01:09:56):
All over that?
Speaker 7 (01:09:56):
At a gas station? Yes, sometimes you walk into the
gas station you say, every single part of my body
is cleaner than every single But we're talking that's nasty gas,
nasty station.
Speaker 3 (01:10:10):
You don't think this place is nasty? You ever seen
these people?
Speaker 4 (01:10:12):
No?
Speaker 7 (01:10:13):
I do think it's nasty. But what you can do,
you can you can organize your your your process so
that you grab the paper towel last and that's you
wash your hands and you turn it off, and then
you use the paper towel dry your hands, and then
and grab the handle of the bathroom with the paper towel.
The trash can is right there by the way. If
(01:10:34):
you're not putting your trash can right next to the
door in your bathrooms, you're doing something wrong. Restaurants, I'm
talking to you, restaurants, banks, airports, uh uh uh, you know, jails, whatever.
Put the trash can on on the inside of the bathroom,
right next to the door, so you can grab the
handle properly with your foot, put it in the trash can,
and be along the mirrorway maybe a couple of pounds later.
Speaker 1 (01:10:58):
But what I'm saying is I'm not I'm not a
car art blanc. However, it goes that the uneral urinal
determines whether I'm going over there or not. If it
all goes smoothly and there's no issue, well, but it is.
Speaker 3 (01:11:09):
Not the turn. It's it's just the lift and then
the push down.
Speaker 5 (01:11:12):
So you can lift, wash your hands with soap, push
down with the back of your wrist, walk over, dry
your hands.
Speaker 3 (01:11:19):
Do you hear that? What if you have the faucet
that do you stick your hand there? It comes on.
Speaker 1 (01:11:23):
Yeah, those frustrated pain we get hard. But at the end,
at the end of the day, some of what y'all
just did I think I'd rather take a chance the
best hand washing?
Speaker 3 (01:11:33):
I really, I rarely.
Speaker 1 (01:11:34):
I mean I do get sick from time to time,
but it's extremely rare. Uh And no, but I do,
I mean sometimes.
Speaker 3 (01:11:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:11:42):
Well, I'm not sure the bathroom is the biggest thing
I face every day. It's probably the people sneezing coughing
on me. Uh, you know, all around me everywhere probably
didn't wash their hands. And there was a pizza place
by the old studio that had the best hand washing
thing I've ever seen.
Speaker 17 (01:11:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:12:00):
You just stick your hand in there and it's all
water goes all around and everything. You never touch nothing,
just shov your hands in this. It's like a tunnel.
Speaker 3 (01:12:06):
You never would get the piece. You just kept doing it.
I know.
Speaker 1 (01:12:08):
That's the reason when no, let me say, I learned
that from a wise old man. I never forget it. Well,
I don't like that's there was a wise old man
and he said that to me. And I said, I
noticed that you don't go to the to to walk
to the sink. He said, I's youre doun't son. I said,
then why is that? And he said it, I know
where this is, man. I got no idea what's been
going on over there? Or I've heard people say I
(01:12:29):
don't peel my hands. I've heard that, Yeah right.
Speaker 7 (01:12:31):
No, thermodynamics is you're getting missed, I heard.
Speaker 3 (01:12:36):
I've heard people say that.
Speaker 5 (01:12:37):
But if you play it right to what Adler is saying,
the last thing you touch is the soap and the water,
and then you don't.
Speaker 1 (01:12:43):
What's missing from what y'all just describe a backflip. I mean,
my gosh, I.
Speaker 7 (01:12:50):
Would like to pretend when I'm in the bathroom we
were at the same time. I would like you to
pretend to wash your hands.
Speaker 3 (01:12:55):
How many times you and I shake hands?
Speaker 7 (01:12:58):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (01:12:59):
Never? I know, but I touch a lot of things.
Speaker 7 (01:13:00):
We held hands during the prayer this morning, did we?
Speaker 3 (01:13:04):
I don't.
Speaker 7 (01:13:05):
I'm just kidding.
Speaker 1 (01:13:05):
I just take Can I just take you? Let me
say this, because now you've let it out super awkward.
Please don't do that again from this point for Yeah,
keep in mind I was raised by a man that
wouldn't even let his football team hold hands in the
huddle like that.
Speaker 3 (01:13:22):
No, No, I don't. Rick has nasty hands. That's it.
I don't have nasty hands.
Speaker 1 (01:13:27):
Yeah, you're really saying I have a nasty something else,
and I don't Rick's getting your own everything now, I
don't let.
Speaker 7 (01:13:32):
Me ask you a question.
Speaker 16 (01:13:33):
Y'all.
Speaker 7 (01:13:33):
Shower every single morning, y'all, shower before bed, y'all every day,
every morning, every morning before bad.
Speaker 3 (01:13:39):
Sometimes before bad. It's going on other day. Went yeah, yeah,
that does determinate. But I'm more.
Speaker 1 (01:13:43):
But the one at night is to get clean. The
one in the morning is to wake up. You know
it summer, winter or fall, big change, summer, summer, summer
in Alabama, that's where we live.
Speaker 3 (01:13:52):
I shower all the time. I could see through it.
I never stop.
Speaker 1 (01:13:55):
Yeah yeah, And of course yesterday, you know I tried
to do a little better, So that was a two
shower day.
Speaker 3 (01:13:59):
There you go. It's omer you got a battle. Butts,
we thank you Greg. He did here.
Speaker 7 (01:14:03):
That was understood.
Speaker 3 (01:14:04):
That was understood. No need to say it. Okay, I'm
making it was understood.
Speaker 7 (01:14:07):
I'm making my point still stands about the balls here.
If you touch yes it's a different topic, and cut
them and you're gonna eat. You want to wash your
hands in between the touchings and eating.
Speaker 3 (01:14:18):
That did lead us here, But I know what.
Speaker 1 (01:14:20):
You Yeah, that's what we walked. That back Jerry Jones.
Is he a great actor or is he telling a
true story? We'll discuss that when we come back right
after this.
Speaker 6 (01:14:33):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 1 (01:14:40):
Jerry Jones, Now speedy are you no?
Speaker 3 (01:14:44):
You're a Chiefs guy? What do you have some kind
of is it?
Speaker 1 (01:14:47):
Did Dak Prescott make you a little bit of a
of a Cowboys fan?
Speaker 3 (01:14:50):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:14:51):
A little bit of a Cowboys fan? But Jerry Jones
controversial character. You know, some people think at one time,
and I would agree with that, that he was an
incredible asset to the Dallas Cowboys. But now maybe it
has become a detriment. I don't know, not really the
topic here today that that's a little sidebar there on Jerry.
But this what is this show?
Speaker 3 (01:15:12):
Land Man?
Speaker 16 (01:15:13):
What?
Speaker 14 (01:15:14):
Now?
Speaker 1 (01:15:14):
I understand Greg you want to caution and with Greg,
you've gotta be If Greg is cautioning you about language,
you do not go near it. It's it's a good
show and Billy Bob Thornton's good. But now I'm just saying,
if you're offended by foul languages, didn't you might as well?
What do you mean on that? And to be honest,
is it silly? Storyline? With his wife and his daughter.
It may it didn't even contribute to the storyline. I
(01:15:34):
don't know why it's in it, and I could do
away with that. But the old business, gas oil and
gas business and how it runs and stuff.
Speaker 3 (01:15:42):
I like that part.
Speaker 1 (01:15:43):
And Jerry Jones was on there as himself because one
of the big investors. It's that John han Ham. Anyway,
his character had a heart attack and Jerry's in there
giving him some advice. I was wondering if his story
he tells is a okay about him or is it
made up for the show. So is Jerry Jones. Here's
the question before you, the audience and us the team.
(01:16:06):
Is Jerry Jones a great actor? Or is he just
telling the true story?
Speaker 3 (01:16:09):
Yeah? Is that the question?
Speaker 7 (01:16:10):
Yes, sounds sounds pretty close to his actual life.
Speaker 3 (01:16:13):
And he got a little choked up there. No, he did.
People saying it was really good.
Speaker 7 (01:16:18):
Yeah, and I'm only gonna show a quick clip of
it so we don't get copyright flagged.
Speaker 3 (01:16:22):
But then Billy Bob sticks his head in drowns f bomb.
Speaker 1 (01:16:25):
They go the next thing, right, Absolutely some bad language, yeah,
but yeah, yeah.
Speaker 7 (01:16:31):
Jerry Jones is talking here about how he structured his
business so that his children can work with him and
be with him, and he can be with his family
while he works. And like you guys said, he's talking
to John Hamm who had a heart attack. Billy Bob
Thornton's in the room as well. Here's Jerry Jones.
Speaker 4 (01:16:47):
I thought I was doing it for them, but the
one that got the most out of it was me.
I just know it's not gonna be this time, but
you're gonna be sitting here sometime in the future, laying
here sometime in the future, and this room is going
to be full of your business associates and the people
you've worked with all your life, and more than likely
(01:17:10):
your children and family going to be there because they
are your children and your family. But you could have
them there because they're the people you spent your life with,
you worked with, you fell down with, you got up with.
Speaker 1 (01:17:25):
He basically you hear the whole thing that's come out how
his family he put them in his business so they
could not just socialize together rather all the time.
Speaker 3 (01:17:33):
Basically, Wow, that's good.
Speaker 1 (01:17:36):
But he gets to talk about how he made his fortune.
But what got him started to buy the cowboys and
said he bought up I forget how many acres, twenty
five something like that, and told him he was gonna
be able a subdivision, but he put gas wheels on it,
and the money made from that funded him being able
to buy The Cowboys, which has been We've seen the
investment he thought it for like, I forget how many
hundreds of millions and it's worth a billion billions?
Speaker 3 (01:17:57):
Now wow?
Speaker 1 (01:17:58):
So anyway, is he telling this truth out of his
own life or is he a better actor than we
thought Jerry Jones would be?
Speaker 5 (01:18:07):
And so John Ham, he's the owner of the old company. Yeah,
he again, Billy deals with drug dealers deals.
Speaker 3 (01:18:17):
It's pretty cold. What now, I'm just going to say this.
Speaker 1 (01:18:20):
The whole his daughter and his wife had run that
that that whole storyline ruins the whole show.
Speaker 3 (01:18:24):
It's just I've heard that.
Speaker 1 (01:18:26):
Yeah, okay, wow, And okay, So it's funny how it
happened on the show today. So earlier we were showing
the Los Angeles fires.
Speaker 3 (01:18:36):
Okay. And what's Mike's name, Mike the guy Rowe? Is
it Mike row Jobs Yeah, mikerow Yeah. I just saw him.
Stay with me, remember, stay with me?
Speaker 1 (01:18:49):
John Ham and Mike row sometimes are the same person
refused the same person.
Speaker 3 (01:18:53):
Yes, brother agreed. Guys, which ones in bride Mates?
Speaker 7 (01:19:01):
John ham he's an actor. Mike Rowe is a dirty
job man.
Speaker 1 (01:19:07):
I thought he might act too. I don't know, Well,
he's not. He's in the entertainment business.
Speaker 9 (01:19:11):
Ad.
Speaker 3 (01:19:11):
That's not that big a stretch. Jerry Jones was in
a movie a show.
Speaker 7 (01:19:15):
John Hamm is a slick ad executive row Where's Baseball Cat?
Speaker 3 (01:19:19):
I'm just telling you.
Speaker 1 (01:19:21):
Sometimes, sometimes sometimes I wouldn't mind hang out with John
Hamm either, but I do get a mix. I mean
sometimes they're the same person to me there, but I
know they're not.
Speaker 12 (01:19:30):
Who.
Speaker 7 (01:19:32):
Who's in Maverick? Yeah, John ham probably Mike Rowe.
Speaker 3 (01:19:36):
I don't know. Now I could google it. I don't
know what movie he's won an Academy Award. People from
here go, I'm going in. I'm going from Maverick. Okay.
Speaker 1 (01:19:46):
Maybe speaking of movies, I didn't tell you this. You
know another movie I saw and I did the research
on everything? Over the Break A complete unknown? What's that?
Speaker 7 (01:19:56):
Bob Dylan's story with Timmy.
Speaker 3 (01:19:58):
My life outstanding? I love it. I love usually music,
biopics or whatever you want to do. Really good. Now,
Bob Dylan not the most likable person.
Speaker 1 (01:20:08):
No, but I mean, and and he did did he
try to talk like him?
Speaker 3 (01:20:14):
Not bad?
Speaker 1 (01:20:14):
Of course that would get him. No surprise here the
if it's the actor doing I don't know who's singing.
I don't know if the actor is singing himself. Whoever
is singing in the movie sings better than Bob Dylan.
Well that's I mean, you can get a jackass, put
a microphone in front of it. It sounds better than Bob delay. Okay, Greg,
you're upsetting a lot of people. And I know that's all.
I love his songs, but he's let other people to today.
But but it's just an animal pal But but I
(01:20:35):
will say as far as because I know I don't
want to go to art too far to here, because
you know that's not my nature. But the you know
how a lot of times and movies now they just
they go nowhere and and and they and all that,
and all they and all they and all they try
to do is show you a lot of panoramic views
and stuff and show you a lot of visual things.
You're supposed to make you feel strange. But they don't
(01:20:57):
really have any dialogue and the story is not interesting.
This is a very interesting story. The acting is great,
the dialogue is great. And they said that when they
went to Dealing, because the movie has been obviously people
wanted to make it for a long time. They never
could get the Dealing bunch to let it go. But
they went and talked to Bob Dylan personally. He actually
(01:21:17):
took the script. He said, this script that my people
keep denying, let me see it. And so he read
it and he actually went back and corrected some things
he thought cast him into a good light. Oh, he said,
he said, that's not I'm worse than that. And yeah, well,
just and I don't mean that he doesn't he does
anything horrible, but he pretty much had didn't have a
(01:21:40):
whole lot of regard, uh for for for people, But
he really was people. He was an artist who, you know,
really just was gifted at writing songs and that kind
of was what motivated him. And if you weren't part
of that, then speedy quick, give me a man of
(01:22:01):
a thousand voices, Bob Dylan.
Speaker 3 (01:22:02):
Hey, this is the Rick Bergis Show.
Speaker 7 (01:22:08):
Timothy Somolomon Dingong whatever the actor he did sing it.
By the way, same guy for myro He did a
good job John Hand, Jim, Mike Rose in this movie.
Speaker 6 (01:22:20):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 1 (01:22:27):
And a lot of people have been discussing this is
not an exaggeration. Phenomenal season that bo Nicks is having
in the NFL. Yeah, congratulations to him and his family,
just a fact. And you're saying that he is playing
at such a level right now that that former NFL
(01:22:49):
star Darryl Johnston was commenting onim.
Speaker 5 (01:22:51):
He was, I want to say he had the I
think he had a Broncos game or a Falcons game
the next the next day, I can't remember, And just
we were small talking and the conversation of rookie quarterbacks
came up and in that class, you know, and I
know Daniels is with the U, but he said in
his opinion and it was up to that that weekend
(01:23:13):
he said, bow by far was I think leading the
pack as far as the year that he was having.
And I hadn't really paid attention to it just because
I've been running around, but I was able to catch
the Chiefs and the Broncos game this past weekend where
the Broncos had to win to be in the Chiefs
were already in so they were sitting everybody.
Speaker 3 (01:23:31):
But Bo was running all over the field, throwing all
over the field.
Speaker 5 (01:23:35):
I want to say, in the first half, and I
might be a step out here. Up to just a
few minutes or a minute in the first half, he
had not had an incompletion the entire game. I think
he finished the first half with maybe one incompletion.
Speaker 3 (01:23:47):
Wow, but he is he is on his way.
Speaker 1 (01:23:51):
Boy here, Ago, don't mojo this kid. Not that we
believe any of that, but just don't take chances.
Speaker 19 (01:23:56):
No, yeah, you're right. I'll just keep this talking to me,
I'll keep it. But he's surprised by his performance. I
don't surprised say that. It's not like he was going
to a great team. So I thought, as a rookie,
if he gets to start, what's now, they'll throw him
out there, right, They don't hold him like they used to.
Speaker 3 (01:24:13):
I just thought I thought, you know, he had.
Speaker 1 (01:24:15):
The skills to be good, but I didn't know if
his team Because what I think is what's happened to
Caleb Williams at Chicago is he was running for his life.
Speaker 5 (01:24:23):
Yeah, all right, So that Sean Payton, I think, really
likes Boke, and I think you know timing and in
the situation, it's it's sure that's a lot and and
and who he's with, I think, which was great, concerned
because I didn't didn't know how good of a ensemble
he'd have around him. So let me ask you this,
were you more surprised at bo Nix's performance as a
rookie NFL quarterback or more surprised by how well he
(01:24:45):
did it Oregon after how bad he.
Speaker 3 (01:24:47):
Looked at all?
Speaker 1 (01:24:50):
I'm going with the NFL. Okay, I have to agree
with that close.
Speaker 3 (01:24:54):
I have to agree with that.
Speaker 7 (01:24:55):
He's lighting it up.
Speaker 3 (01:24:56):
Guys. He's I mean, he is good. I think you're
going to start seeing him, especially in the off season.
You're recording tons of commercials and norsements. He's he's getting
a name. Okay.
Speaker 5 (01:25:09):
And this is also concerning back to the Stallions, and
this is where I need to I need to I
need work on my brain. I think I've hosted events
of how many years the Stallions have been around and
I just had a segment where I couldn't remember. And
it's sad because they've won three championships in a row.
That's what I thought they So this is the fourth
season coming there in a row.
Speaker 1 (01:25:29):
Yeah, yes, they won the us they won. You know,
they won the USFL. I thought twice twice, and then
the UFL once UFL and now.
Speaker 3 (01:25:37):
They're in there. I didn't think the USFL did two seasons.
Yeah they did. They did well.
Speaker 1 (01:25:42):
They did.
Speaker 3 (01:25:42):
I'm sorry they did. They did.
Speaker 1 (01:25:43):
And how about this, I said strategly, Mike Rowe was
their first studio.
Speaker 3 (01:25:47):
Yeah, I haven't think. I said on the mic, if
you happen to buy a three piece? Yeah? Yeah, I'm
sitting there, can't remember not knowing. Okay, you not knowing
hosted it. I've been on the mic, greg.
Speaker 1 (01:25:57):
A, minor right again, Minor Greg right again. Apparently Mike
Rowe was on Last Man's Standing.
Speaker 3 (01:26:04):
What is that? That's that show that Tim?
Speaker 7 (01:26:07):
Oh, yeah, that doesn't count.
Speaker 1 (01:26:11):
He probably playing the thing we just saw on Jerry
Jones was our TV thing.
Speaker 5 (01:26:15):
We were we were talking about movies. That's clearly a sitcom.
Speaker 3 (01:26:19):
We're talking about movies, all right.
Speaker 7 (01:26:21):
Uh, Broncos play the Bills Sunday at noon. Yeah, that's big,
that's big time.
Speaker 3 (01:26:28):
Right, Tim Allen TV show whatever?
Speaker 1 (01:26:30):
Yeah, Tim got a new show up y'all say, no,
I saw the previews look pretty fun TV show?
Speaker 3 (01:26:35):
Yeah, no, I did not know look funny? What is
it like? Uh?
Speaker 7 (01:26:41):
What's your name? From Two Broke Girls is in it?
Speaker 1 (01:26:43):
Is it?
Speaker 17 (01:26:43):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:26:43):
Yeah, I don't.
Speaker 1 (01:26:45):
I'm so far from sitcoms. I can't remember the last
time I watched. And I used to be a huge fantasy. Well, well,
because they're not funny anymore, because now that everything's gonna woke,
you can't be funny.
Speaker 3 (01:26:54):
And if you remember her gear, you remember.
Speaker 1 (01:26:55):
His show wasn't woke and he got taken off Fox
and and all that. So yeah, it's you can't really
be in comedy because comedy requires you pointing out things
that now have been forbidden.
Speaker 8 (01:27:08):
Now.
Speaker 1 (01:27:09):
I heard a story the other day and I didn't
follow this. I didn't watch the Golden Globes, but they said, now,
whoever the girl was, she's a comedian, that the host
is nicky. Yeah, they're going back to getting offensive again.
They're backing off from the people are accepting it more.
Speaker 7 (01:27:26):
You have the Tom Brady roast just go Nuts viral.
Speaker 3 (01:27:29):
That was nasty, right, Yeah.
Speaker 7 (01:27:30):
They didn't care, but it wasn't. I also wasn't woke.
And you're seeing a trend of.
Speaker 3 (01:27:35):
More there so much more about offending.
Speaker 1 (01:27:38):
Go back to one of the things, Well, go back
to one of the things we're saying about this show
that we come to you from the real world. Okay,
we've said this so many times. We had a story
yesterday we just didn't get to it involving McDonald's same thing.
This running theme where a lot of these mega companies
and entertainment industry people are allowing all these people come
(01:28:00):
in from the woke society and convincing them that they
represent the majority of our society, and they don't. And
we've seen it over and over again. So we've said
this on the show, but it's worth repeating, is that
what's happening is some of y'all need to be careful.
Speaker 3 (01:28:18):
You're letting these people.
Speaker 1 (01:28:20):
Come in and getting you to pay them to put
together an advertising campaign, to put together any sort of
campaign to get followers, to get customers, whatever, and they're
making you a marketing campaign that is strategic for a
world that doesn't exist. So you're now preparing to go
(01:28:43):
after a fake world and it fails miserably when it's
put out in the real world. So it's time for
everybody to say I'm sorry. Everybody in their individual lives
can have their own agendas on as you don't harm
other people, but you better start realizing the real world
versus the fate world.
Speaker 3 (01:29:02):
And I'm telling you with all the.
Speaker 1 (01:29:03):
Startness, yeah, with all the misinformation and disinformation out there
and easy access to it and all that, I mean,
I'm not making we had fun with this, but take
on a much bigger scale that deal yesterday. I mean
we talked about where your wife got a picture of
a road that wasn't far from us, that was from
years ago during another snowstorm. That that is happening on
(01:29:25):
a giant level when it even comes to marketing campaigns,
so a lot this is what people want from us.
Absolutely they don't, so I mean not people. And that's
why all these companies, you know the phrase woke, go broke,
they're starting to figure it out. And I think what
you're seeing, to your point, Adler and Greg is maybe
entertainment starting to catch up to that now. It seems
(01:29:45):
they're lagging a little bit behind because there's so many
leftists in the entertainment business, but they're realizing if you
want a large audience. This, this woke stuff does not
garner that audience.
Speaker 3 (01:29:56):
No, no, it just does. We need to start an
ad agency college, straight up ad agency yep, and we
try to direct those that are wanting to push a
message out to not take that route right and just
be straight. Would you like a marketing plan for the
real world? That's we're here. Let's talk to you.
Speaker 1 (01:30:13):
America next eight eight eight six big box. All lines
are available, and we'll chat with you when we come back.
Speaker 6 (01:30:20):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 1 (01:30:27):
So let's go to the phones. And Sean is standing by.
It looks like he is, Uh, Sean, what you're calling
from the beach?
Speaker 3 (01:30:34):
What? What? What beach are you calling from?
Speaker 9 (01:30:38):
Yeah, it's it's called Ormond Beach, Florida. It's just north
of Daytona.
Speaker 3 (01:30:42):
Oh just that. So how do you get the show there?
Are you just streaming?
Speaker 12 (01:30:45):
Or YouTube?
Speaker 3 (01:30:46):
YouTube? Okay?
Speaker 9 (01:30:47):
YouTube? I used to I used to live in Georgia
and watched on Rick above on to your house.
Speaker 3 (01:30:51):
Oh, thank you very very much. Yeah, those were fun,
fun years. All right, So go.
Speaker 9 (01:30:55):
Ahead, Okay, So last week I was sick for a days.
I have the cold head called credit. I was watching
a lot of stuff on Netflix. I saw one documentary
about Elvis on Netflix, about his nineteen sixty eight special.
It's called The Rise for the Fall and Rise of
(01:31:15):
Elvis Presley. That's very good, very very good one. But
the one I really want to call and asked talk
to Greg about was it's another one to talk about
two Elvis impersonator brothers. Kings are two below King Kings of.
Speaker 1 (01:31:30):
I'm writing this down that has Greg Burg just written
it does all over it, I would.
Speaker 9 (01:31:38):
Say, every time, all the whole time I'm watching. It's
like a four or five part thing all the time.
Much I'm like, this is Greg this might be rich too.
It's peedy because it s Beety's from Mississippi, so it's
a lot about that. So it's very funny. Those guys
are nuts, Okay, Andy'll y'all will enjoy it.
Speaker 3 (01:31:56):
Are the acting or is it like genuine article where
it's just now.
Speaker 9 (01:32:01):
It's one hundred percent like a documentary. They have a
little bit of re enacting, like a little bit cuts
every now and then. But they talked to the guys,
They talked to everybody involved in the whole thing, and
it's a crazy story.
Speaker 3 (01:32:14):
Okay, all right, Okay, that's that. You didn't tell him that.
Speaker 1 (01:32:18):
Listen, you just tell him you want to talk about
a documentary, right, I'll tell him.
Speaker 3 (01:32:21):
He's in there taking calls.
Speaker 9 (01:32:22):
Right, Well, I told him about I told him it
was about the who was it kind of what it
was about?
Speaker 1 (01:32:26):
Just so you had him, you had him, Okay, Kings
of People. I mean, all right, let's go to Andrew
Andrew out of Birmingham one O four seven w z
z K.
Speaker 3 (01:32:39):
Andrew, go ahead, Hey, how are you? We're good? I
hope you're okay, buddy.
Speaker 18 (01:32:46):
Oh, I'm doing a fantastic love the new show. I've
noticed some things about Adler.
Speaker 3 (01:32:52):
What's that?
Speaker 4 (01:32:54):
You know?
Speaker 18 (01:32:54):
He's a lot more confident when he swapped that camera
to him, even his on that hunting documentary, I mean
the business summit.
Speaker 9 (01:33:04):
Oh yeah, thank you different Dler.
Speaker 18 (01:33:07):
You got to raise, didn't you he did?
Speaker 3 (01:33:09):
Yeah? How about he absolutely did? He sure did?
Speaker 1 (01:33:12):
Uh and you can you can see it all over him,
can't you? Absolutely much deserved too.
Speaker 7 (01:33:18):
By the way, I finally recovered from that bitcoin scam,
so I'm I'm doing by the way, Kings of Tuplo,
not to be confused with Tulsa King I'm like, at first,
I thought they were talking about the Sylvester Stallone show. Anyways,
A right, by.
Speaker 3 (01:33:32):
The way, I saw Paramount Plus this is Netflix. I've
seen that Sylvester Stallone documentary. Have you seen it? About him?
Just about him? About that the reality show?
Speaker 1 (01:33:43):
Where is it was a documentary about his life? Oh okay,
that's different. Yeah, ham bone, hammy, hammy. I had a
sweet home Alabama.
Speaker 12 (01:33:51):
Ham go ahead, Holy smoke. He took my call.
Speaker 3 (01:33:56):
Yes, absolutely, I called.
Speaker 12 (01:33:59):
The whole month of the last show, and I guess
Bubba was a little pissed off at me and wouldn't
take my call.
Speaker 1 (01:34:03):
Woh wow, No, that's not true. Bubba has nothing to
do with the cause. Now that's kid.
Speaker 12 (01:34:09):
I just want to tell you Rick, I get to
the gym about five in the morning. I cut y'all,
I cut y'all on the tune in. I'm sitting there laughing.
People was like, what are you laughing at? Hey, I
gotta tell you the Rick Burder show.
Speaker 3 (01:34:18):
Bro.
Speaker 12 (01:34:18):
That's just good.
Speaker 3 (01:34:19):
Thank you man.
Speaker 12 (01:34:21):
I've prayed to love well. I've got the gym, spread
it everywhere I'm at.
Speaker 3 (01:34:24):
Thank you. I appreciate that very very much. And coming
from you.
Speaker 1 (01:34:27):
That means a lot because I know you've you've you've
watched a big body of work. Uh, let's continue, Let's
go to Jeremy. Jeremy, Welcome to Rick and bubban Us
Talk one O, three nine, Go ahead.
Speaker 3 (01:34:39):
I said that was my third time to say it
in four days. I mean three days ahead.
Speaker 8 (01:34:45):
I'm calling it cause you know, what's the name of
your your intro? You know, I'm used to the old
Rick and Bubba song. I hear different ones. Is it
a certain song y'are using?
Speaker 1 (01:34:56):
Now? All right, so you'd have to be a little
more specific because we're you in a couple. Are you
talking about the one that has the Uh you better
listen up, it's actually singing or just the music one?
Speaker 8 (01:35:07):
Well, it's just an official intro, Like you know, I
used to have the Rick and Bubba song. Does the
Rick Burgess Show have an official.
Speaker 3 (01:35:15):
No? No, I mean we have bad music.
Speaker 1 (01:35:18):
We have bad music that we're using that is that
is not copyrighted so you can use it on YouTube.
Speaker 4 (01:35:25):
Man.
Speaker 1 (01:35:25):
Here, we really were more focused on let's find something
that you know, Adler doesn't have to cover all the time.
Now we're still playing other songs that are copyrighted that
he's still having to cover. But we wanted something that
kind of sounded like the attitude of the show, but
it wasn't copyrighted. And then that there's a couple of
intros that actually are mister Lucky, uh, the world's Greatest
garage band. So yeah, but no, I was dabbling with another,
(01:35:50):
you know, kind of jingle type thing, and no one
has given me anything that I would go, oh man,
that's that's great. You know, when that Rick and Bubba
thing was sent to me, I knew we had go
right there.
Speaker 16 (01:36:00):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (01:36:01):
And if something like that comes along at some point, sure,
but it just it just has it at this time.
Speaker 3 (01:36:05):
Uh, let's go to uh, let's go to Perry out
of Troy, Alabama.
Speaker 20 (01:36:11):
Perry, go ahead, Hey boys, I just want to bring
something to the table about Mike Rowe.
Speaker 1 (01:36:16):
Uh.
Speaker 20 (01:36:16):
He got started actually in the entertainment industry. He couldn't
get a SAG card because he couldn't get an acting job,
so he did an end around and actually joined the
Baltimore I think it was a Baltimore Opera and got
the equivalent of a SAG card and was able to
transfer it over.
Speaker 3 (01:36:33):
I never knew that story.
Speaker 12 (01:36:34):
He talked about it.
Speaker 20 (01:36:36):
On Joe Rogan a month or two ago, y'all to
check it out.
Speaker 17 (01:36:39):
It was a pretty good.
Speaker 3 (01:36:39):
Uhatty good interview, you know what.
Speaker 1 (01:36:41):
I think I just did what you may have done
with the stallions. We interviewed Mike Rowe on this show.
Bet I bet he told us that it was a
good interview too, when when we had him on the
Rick and bobber Show, didn't we yes?
Speaker 3 (01:36:53):
And I bet he told us that he probably did.
Speaker 5 (01:36:57):
I think we probably do know that story, because I
guarantee you asked him, So, how'd you get started?
Speaker 3 (01:37:02):
You know, we did? I bet he told us that.
And I bet there's people screaming right, y'all know this.
Speaker 7 (01:37:08):
Yeah. Twenty twenty one July of twenty twenty one is
when Micro was on the show.
Speaker 3 (01:37:14):
All right, it's top of the hour, thanks for being witness.
I bet he told us.
Speaker 6 (01:37:19):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 1 (01:37:26):
We're having a blast last three days and you know,
getting our feet under us moving forward and uh, and
it's so excited about what's in front of us as
much as.
Speaker 3 (01:37:39):
We're grateful for what's behind us.
Speaker 1 (01:37:41):
All right, So as you heard, the gang's all here
that makes up the Rick Burgess Show. We're glad, thank
you and have enjoyed chatting with you today and Wednesday.
Bible Study does return today, and as some of you
I see commenting, I'll tell you you know, spiritual warfare
is always there's a final line with obsessing over it
(01:38:02):
but also being gullible about it. We're going to walk
that line today. I learned something in Daniel chapter ten
I've never known before, and it was.
Speaker 3 (01:38:12):
It was it was a little bit shocking.
Speaker 1 (01:38:15):
So we'll talk about that today in Daniel chapter ten.
Watch it live at noon Central one o'clock Eastern on
the YouTube channel, or you can catch the archive off
the YouTube channel or the podcast channel a little bit later.
Speaker 3 (01:38:29):
Adler always does a good job with that.
Speaker 1 (01:38:31):
So a lot of you have been talking about who
can see it? And I know we've tried to do pictures,
you know, and Adler was like, hey, y'all can't do
pictures of the new studio, so it's finished. I think
he was right on that, yeah, because you know, you
don't want to start putting stuff out, you know, the
work in progress and all that, and there's still some
things will adjust and and all that. As we move forward.
But one of the things, and I remember when Adler
(01:38:53):
mentioned it to me, and Greg, you discussed this the
other day. You know, there's there's the normal I don't
like hassles, and then there's me the way I am
about hassles.
Speaker 3 (01:39:05):
I realized borderlines on I should seek counsels. Was irresponsible. Yeah,
And so.
Speaker 1 (01:39:12):
Adler approached me, and I think he might have been
a little bit surprised how open to it I was.
And he was like, what do you think about us
kind of changing not just the logos, but the look
of the studio to the point I'm talking would work
and things like that. He had a vision. Yeah, And
(01:39:34):
I remember thinking to myself, you know, probably any makeover
we can do that would give you a fresh new look,
it's probably great. And then I will say this and
I'm want to be just straight up, and I think
you wouldn't have even asked. I also knew that I
was leaving for three weeks and would only be asked
to come up here to cut commercials and stuff like
(01:39:56):
that that needed to be done. So I thought to myself,
surely in three weeks, so good done. I may never
even know what happened, you know, so so I think
it looks great, but we were missing something.
Speaker 3 (01:40:10):
On the on the front of it.
Speaker 1 (01:40:11):
You know, you can see that we're behind a console
for those who don't know. And then the front has
you know, was there one leg? There's only one leg
because over here this isn't there's no legs over here, right,
this is a full piece over here right on the
side stage right. Yeah, but that that's not it. You
see what I mean. You see the difference. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
So this leg here it had it had not transitioned
(01:40:33):
at all, the one that's over on Greg's side, right,
and you're looking under the wheel there, Yes, but yesterday
it joined the transformation. I look up and and Adler's dad,
of course, Michael Adler, who's quite a handy man. He
comes walking in and over his shoulders, he's carrying a
(01:40:54):
cedar log.
Speaker 3 (01:40:55):
First of all, I love the smell of it. I
love that.
Speaker 16 (01:40:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:40:58):
How you know now, camp house. You know, we got
that cedar table and it came from a cedar trade
that went down here on the farm. You know, I
just told the little Michelle I was gonna put together
and Bill Joe table high share like that little table.
Speaker 7 (01:41:10):
So so any beautiful table that Gary made from that
cedar tree.
Speaker 3 (01:41:13):
Really it really is. Can you see it in the documentary.
We didn't really focus on it that, we.
Speaker 7 (01:41:19):
Didn't really make it. It's a good question.
Speaker 3 (01:41:21):
It was too dark in there. You couldn't say it.
That's true.
Speaker 5 (01:41:23):
Thanks for we were sitting at But it was interesting
to see Michael Adler too in that in that role
because when I see him, you know, yeah, he's dad
and all that, but it's I'm singing, I'm entertaining.
Speaker 3 (01:41:35):
It's a guitar.
Speaker 5 (01:41:36):
You know, he's so much talent. And then he comes
in there toting that log over his show and there
it is, and then he that focus like when he
has the guitar and he's about to sing. I saw
that same focus looking at that log.
Speaker 3 (01:41:50):
But he's a weird he was. He was focused.
Speaker 1 (01:41:53):
He's a weird mixture because when you see his look.
Speaking of Michael Adler, you don't expect him to all
will be someone who works with wood and creates these things.
You you expect him to come in, as you said,
and maybe turned this into guitar and then sing to us.
Speaker 3 (01:42:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:42:11):
But but seeing he working alongside one of his sons,
the son that works with us, Eddie van Adler. It
was really quite something to see and I think we're
all very pleased with the result.
Speaker 7 (01:42:21):
Yeah, it's good looking. My dad, he's an amazing guy.
He even he's gotten into like turning these wood bowls.
Look at this he made. He made these bulls on
a lathe.
Speaker 3 (01:42:33):
Can can.
Speaker 1 (01:42:36):
I pass this loan to you just so you may
can get the word of rolling that I think that
I have liked over dropped hints how bad Cherry wants
one of those?
Speaker 3 (01:42:44):
Yeah, and nothing's happening.
Speaker 7 (01:42:47):
R he sells them. Rick, that's important.
Speaker 1 (01:42:49):
That's that's that was then Speedy Speedy, Speedy Speedy is
not going to say what I'm about to say. I
will pay for one, Okay, I don't know. I don't
know how to do it.
Speaker 5 (01:42:59):
Yeah, you know cost give me Speedy wants to know
the price, which is it ain't No. But it was
interesting to see because you know, you've been taking the
lead in some things and he comes in he's obviously
the leader, and you're.
Speaker 3 (01:43:14):
Like, yes, sir, hell you're kind of following around.
Speaker 7 (01:43:17):
He was asking me the questions.
Speaker 3 (01:43:23):
Him. I don't know about that.
Speaker 7 (01:43:24):
But also I want to mention that all the wood
was done by Can I Can I give them another plug?
Speaker 3 (01:43:29):
Here we go.
Speaker 7 (01:43:32):
It brings in one log. This company does the whole
backboard that brings in one log. We talked about do.
Speaker 1 (01:43:37):
You think you should bring up worm wood on the
day we're doing the Bible study and we're in Daniel today, prophecy.
Speaker 7 (01:43:42):
It doesn't have anything to do with it has it's
the actual wood.
Speaker 3 (01:43:45):
It's not the time.
Speaker 7 (01:43:46):
But anyways, the people that did the wood paneling here
in the studio is wood word wood worm.
Speaker 3 (01:43:53):
That way to do it.
Speaker 7 (01:43:53):
Bud wanted worm designs a L. That's them on Instagram.
The worm would a L.
Speaker 3 (01:44:03):
He almost went into went into.
Speaker 7 (01:44:08):
Don't remember, Okay, you didn't have to say it.
Speaker 3 (01:44:12):
You don't remember that we're supposed to speak of it again.
We said it. You've messed up. Your face is red. Yeah,
I forgot the funniest real you fade yourself red face.
You know Lisa is going to get on to you
for that one. Probably never get to summit back.
Speaker 7 (01:44:32):
All right, So, uh so Cedar log is cool. I'm
glad you guys like it, and it's I love I
love it, and it actually moved the other poles slightly
behind it so that you could only see that one.
Because if I go to this other shot here doesn't look.
Speaker 1 (01:44:46):
Oh no, is there is there one pole we still got?
That's fine? I went need another cedar line.
Speaker 7 (01:44:51):
I wish I had paneled that panel. I told him
that's fine, don't do it, and that stupid we had
them here? I know would have any extra? Well, I'll
ask him, and maybe Greg and I can do it
and we can film it and make fun of us
and we could accidentally nail our thumbs and stuff.
Speaker 3 (01:45:05):
That be good. Get it almost together.
Speaker 1 (01:45:07):
I almost asked you about why that w wasn't covered,
but I won't be that guy that looks great and
I go, why did you cover that?
Speaker 3 (01:45:12):
You know?
Speaker 7 (01:45:13):
Think about it? I was like, oh, that's fine.
Speaker 3 (01:45:14):
Where did where did it? Does it looks great? Where
did that suitar log come from?
Speaker 7 (01:45:18):
That came from my parents property?
Speaker 3 (01:45:19):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (01:45:19):
Okay, and my dad snuck in something he on the
back side. He put like my family's initials on it.
Speaker 3 (01:45:28):
I don't know what's wrong with that.
Speaker 7 (01:45:30):
I don't know why he did that that He did
like any see any for Chris and Aaron, and then
like L and L for my brother and his wife,
and M and L for he and so I need
to add everybody else's.
Speaker 3 (01:45:42):
And they put a big heart on there. Yes, why
did you do that?
Speaker 7 (01:45:45):
I didn't tell you to do that.
Speaker 1 (01:45:47):
Sitting in a tree, S and G for Speedy and
grand because they love each other so much. Okay, you
know I came in yesterday. Speedy was scratching his butt
on that law gets up all right, by the way,
and Greg's mad at the guy who keeps texting Greg's
(01:46:10):
success from the free throw line because he's missed Greg
when he does good ones and he only catches with
Greg has a back. Yeah, I was one for ten
in the last round, but before that, I have one, right,
I mean it was it might have been a record.
Speaker 3 (01:46:21):
I couldn't think how many of it. I didn't see
him say nothing about that.
Speaker 7 (01:46:24):
You're a baller, Greg, You're a baller.
Speaker 5 (01:46:26):
And and I just made one over my over the back.
And Adler didn't do what I said he had to do.
Speaker 7 (01:46:31):
Swety years coming up with these ridiculous scenarios like if
I do this, you have to eat poop pooh. I'm like,
I'm not gonna make it eat. I'm not gonna eat
poop if you make a four foot shot. I made
it though, but what if you miss it?
Speaker 6 (01:46:42):
Well, it's just you know, this is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 3 (01:46:52):
Show.
Speaker 1 (01:46:53):
I should I just now I want you to think
about how important I mean, we went through that this
this year. You know, sometimes the holidays can be very
tough on people. Okay for us this you know, this
is our one year anniversary of dad past He passed
on the thirteenth of December, so it was the one
(01:47:16):
year anniversary. Anytime you have some sort of trauma or
something that was difficult, even if it didn't happen over
the holidays, it can. It can be traumba because high
important trauma, I mean trauma. But Christmas and all these
holidays are to family. Well, let me let me sell
you with this one. How would you like this to
be your forever Christmas memory? And here it comes you.
(01:47:37):
Let me just read it as it is. Oh yeah,
it's tough.
Speaker 3 (01:47:40):
It's a tough reading.
Speaker 1 (01:47:43):
Mauled to death and partially eaten by neighbors pigs on Christmas.
Speaker 3 (01:47:51):
Wow, that's a bad day night that well, that'll run
your Christmas.
Speaker 1 (01:47:56):
And for some reason, I don't know why, we had
to add partial eating yeah you know that.
Speaker 3 (01:48:03):
Let me ask you this, and I know she was
she was seventy five. This is a seventy five year
old woman. Yeah, because I didn't.
Speaker 1 (01:48:09):
Know pigs as been around a lot of picture picture problematic.
Speaker 3 (01:48:13):
I didn't know they take now you don't want.
Speaker 1 (01:48:14):
You don't want a pig, after you don't fall down.
They'll take now you do not want pigs after ask bricktop.
Speaker 7 (01:48:20):
That's a reference to a movie.
Speaker 3 (01:48:22):
I seen it.
Speaker 7 (01:48:23):
It's this monster guy who has a pig farm. Oh yeah,
because because the pigs will bite through bone and get
the evidence of you know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (01:48:32):
Oh yeah, you know what. I've actually heard of it.
I've actually heard of that in the real world. Yeah,
so they won't need a cucumber.
Speaker 3 (01:48:40):
Though.
Speaker 1 (01:48:40):
By the way, this makes grandmama got run over by
reindeer nothing, I don't know nothing.
Speaker 3 (01:48:45):
Think what you were doing on Christmas Day?
Speaker 1 (01:48:46):
Yeah, you don't want Grandmama got mauled and partially eaten
by pigs. I'll take the reindeer. But that's unclear. Yeah,
it's unclear, greag. And here it's remember I put in
the headline, these are the neighbors pigs.
Speaker 3 (01:49:00):
It's not even your own.
Speaker 1 (01:49:01):
Pigs, so she obviously wasn't in the neighbor's pig pens.
The pigs came from a neighbor's property. That has been confirmed. Unfortunately,
they did take her life.
Speaker 3 (01:49:13):
I think we had that it is here, you ready
for this. So she was supposed to pick her niece up.
Speaker 5 (01:49:22):
She didn't show up, so her niece called the police
for a welfare check and they found her on the property,
not very welfared.
Speaker 7 (01:49:31):
I found a package.
Speaker 3 (01:49:33):
No, you didn't like a news package? Can get can? I? Can?
I get this in real quick.
Speaker 1 (01:49:39):
When a pet kills someone in Ohio, the animal then
is euthanized. It's pretty straightforward, but the state law is
less clear about how you handle vicious behavior from farm
animals that people have to make a living with a
little less clear.
Speaker 3 (01:49:56):
This is this is a this is a farm where
they farmed these pigs, killer pigs.
Speaker 1 (01:50:01):
If it was a pit bull or a rockweiler, or
name any other of the fifteen dogs that are deemed
semi aggressive, then we'd know what to do right away,
said the council uh And and the police trying to
cut the pigs. But being farm animals, it's not something
we've ever dealt with. But this is different because if
it's a pet pig, it's one thing. If you're a
(01:50:21):
pig farm, where you're you're you're pork and all that.
Speaker 3 (01:50:25):
That's how you make it living. So you said just
take the to beef.
Speaker 1 (01:50:29):
What if your beef cows killed somebody different chicken has
and they picked you to death.
Speaker 3 (01:50:34):
Well, and that's a long way. That's a long way home.
But what I'm saying, let the pigs out.
Speaker 1 (01:50:39):
Right, it's it's it's horrible. Are you you're not gonna
put We're not gonna history.
Speaker 7 (01:50:46):
I'm really just surprised. How nice of a neighborhood this
looks like I don't know why. Look look, I mean
that's like a nice say like this would happen in
Russia or something.
Speaker 3 (01:51:00):
They're near, they're near a pig farm. They don't.
Speaker 1 (01:51:03):
It's you know, we had a farm of the greg
and we were in the neighborhood down the road.
Speaker 3 (01:51:07):
You also turned into a whole farm. This is a subdivision,
it is, but it's near. How can they how can
they say pigs might have caused her death? She was
half e well you want to hear it, Well, she
died before that's what you're saying. Maybe, why do they
say mald to death.
Speaker 1 (01:51:27):
That's true, they say mald you determined.
Speaker 7 (01:51:30):
You got to check on her fingernails. See if there's
any pig fur, then you know she fought back. Bigs
don't have a lot of fur, well a little at skin,
not a football.
Speaker 21 (01:51:43):
The police are investigating the death of a woman whose
body was found Christmas Day and if a neighbor's pig
may have been involved. Officers were called to Rebecca rape
His home December twenty fifth after a family member said
she didn't show up to a holiday gathering. Officers say
they found her dead on her front porch with injuries
(01:52:03):
to her lower body. A neighbor's pig was then seen nearby,
and police say it may have contributed to her death. However,
they have yet to determine exactly how she died. The
Lincoln County Corner says, though she was not eaten by the.
Speaker 1 (01:52:18):
Pig, I'm confused. We have a straight pig. Wouldn't that
meat the pet criteria? If it's just one, Yeah, it was.
Speaker 3 (01:52:28):
But the headline says pig it Bless her heart. She
made it to the front door. God Love met her
coming out God love her. I mean she probably drug herself. Listen.
Speaker 1 (01:52:37):
One time, by the way, we got a councilwoman in
this story that says she has a pig farm and
is in the pork business, and it was none of.
Speaker 3 (01:52:44):
Her pigs she's got pigs are all counted well.
Speaker 1 (01:52:46):
And it's it's uncomfortable because the police has taking a
lot of hoof prints and uh and then they understand
there's a pig lineup.
Speaker 3 (01:52:53):
That's they're they're talking about spoken to. I'll tell you this.
Speaker 1 (01:52:57):
One time back when I used to work, we had
to get in the pig area to set a pole.
And I'm telling these are hogs aggravating the things you've
ever seen you life. They'd run, pick up your toes
and run off with them. Had the wire hang on,
Poe grabbed the wire, took off running with it. Really
aggravating pigs. Yeah, hogs hogs. And if you ever sleep
one with a stick in his mouth, that means it's
(01:53:18):
gonna be bad weather.
Speaker 3 (01:53:19):
Oh yeah, everybody knows that.
Speaker 7 (01:53:20):
And Babe has made a public comment said that his
kin had nothing.
Speaker 15 (01:53:24):
To do with it.
Speaker 3 (01:53:26):
That's you, guys. Do you talk about a Christmas Day?
Speaker 1 (01:53:30):
Think about one one year from last Christmas and it
rolls back around.
Speaker 3 (01:53:35):
Wow, we'll be right back.
Speaker 6 (01:53:37):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 3 (01:53:44):
Hey, Rick, here from the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 1 (01:53:46):
We're excited about gathering right here again tomorrow. We're off
to a blazing start. Uh Tomorrow's show, we'll take your
phone calls, we'll break down the stories of the day. Well,
there'll be another opportunity for somebody to spend the will
of a bundles bits and bucks, maybe all tomorrow on
a brand new Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 6 (01:54:07):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
