As on.

Speaker 4 (00:19):

Speaker 5 (00:20):
Those broadcasting from the world The Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (00:30):
That's right, here we go another one, speedy Greg Burgess Adler.
Everybody in position ready to go, Hello America, thanks for
being with us. We have much to do on today's
Rick Burgess Show, so we will have guests again today.
This is day two. The first group but to come

(00:53):
in was on Tuesday, Grit number two today in the
box seats. On Tuesday, one of the folks in the
seats walked away with one thousand dollars. Wow. Wow, And
I tried to hide fit. So that's happening. They're in
for a treat today because the Spurmaster himself, Gary the Bulldozer.

Speaker 6 (01:18):
Man.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
Hey, I mean I want you to know I ain't no,
I don't need you to.

Speaker 6 (01:22):
Come up here.

Speaker 1 (01:23):
I don't say where I go if I keeps asking, Hey,
when you're gonna be back up there. So I had
that conversation with Gary yesterday. He will be with us.
And you know, and and I've tried to talk to
Gary about this, and I've said this over and over again,
and we all know this. Look just don't be high maintenance. Okay,

(01:48):
if there's one thing, that's all we ask of people,
just just don't don't bring us drama, don't be high maintenance.
And uh so, hey call me. You didn't me yesterday.
And I was like, Gary, is this is this super important? Well?
I mean if you if you got too much going
and forget it, just forget it. And I knew it

(02:11):
was gonna be. There's gonna be some kind of asking
there somewhere, you know what I mean? Yeah, And hey,
we're still on for me coming up here tomorrow? Yeah, Gary,
I mean yeah, I mean, I know we talked about
we don't you know, I don't want Look, I don't
need to. I don't even have to come at all. No,

(02:31):
I know, Gary, I understand that. And I would tell
you if I thought that you weren't an asset to
the show. I think there's a lot of people that
that like when you're on, always have been well you
careful it, bring so and so with me. What I'm like, No,
bring some of that brittle.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
Yeah, it's bring his keyboards what he needs.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
And I said, I said, I said, is this some
what what you remember that guy that went out there
and shot you and me when you kids your first turkey,
I said, yeah, sure, girl like great guy. Well, hey,
and I you know, we going to that turkey thing
in Nashville, And I said, I. I said, are y'all
going like you're on your way? No, no, it's not.
It's not to next weekend. Okay, but I ain't coming

(03:15):
up here next week No. Oh okay, I got you?
All right? So I said, you are you trying? Are
you promoting something? No? No, just forget it. I'm gonna
tell him no. And I said, no, I don't care
if he comes Gared, that's fine. I said, but we're
gonna have people in the seats. I mean, and we're
sold out. Well, no, we ain't staying like the whole time.

(03:35):
And and but you know, he's hey, he's he's got
some funny stories about, you know, dealing with me on this.
And I'm like, Gary, what are you talking about? What
are you talking about? What it means? Do you care?
I'm like, well, I don't know, Gary, because I don't
know how it's gonna go. I said, I'll tell you
talking about I said, I tell you this. After we're done,

(03:56):
I'll know. But he's a great guy. He loves to show.
He's you know, I'm sure, yeah, Brink. So so he's
got he's got some guy coming with the guy that
shot that. I can't think of the guy's name. Super good,
good guy. But you remember we put it on our
YouTube channel. He was the one that was there shooting it.
And I think he has an outdoor channel or something
on YouTube or something. So he's and find there's a

(04:19):
lot of vagueness going on in here. Really likes the
show and really has a lot of stories about what
it's like to deal with Gary. Okay, well then I
get that anything like that. We're in so so anyway,
and we are planning on adlers talking about it. I'm
going to see which is another thing I'll tell you
about Young Broderick today. I think and so about shooting

(04:40):
Gary taking you know, members of the show turkey hunting. Yeah,
and so hey, hey you need to Are you and
little Brody y'all coming down here? Yeah? Look, that's it
now after this, so we got to get ready for turkeys.
I'm putting no more feeding in there. Yeah I know that,
I know all that, but your season is still going, right.

(05:02):
That's it though, No, No, the state says that's it. Gary,
this is it at the end of that, right, yeah,
and make sure right the state that's going to let
us hunt through the weekend. But it's all right, thank you, yeah,
thank you. Also thank you for agreeing with the state. Yeah.
So I don't I don't know what to expect. I

(05:23):
know Gary's got a couple of things that have happened
to him and sound promising.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
Okay, okay, so and I'm just glad to let you
deer hunt on the Turkey farm.

Speaker 1 (05:33):
Yes, that's very kind of him. And then then it
actually it's your play, you know. Sometimes you're right, Hey, Gary,
this s rick. Hey, what's going on? You good if
I come down today? Well, I got a lot going on. Yeah,
that's that's how it feels, you know. Let you know,
you're right Gary, would you turn the water back on now?
We need to leave it off a little bit longer,

(05:55):
you know, But anyway, so, but I know where the
water is. But anyway, so the uh, I think ride
of the woods on Arctic class but right now, but
you know it's comfortable. Yeah. But the so the other
the other thing is dealing with our adult sons, which
we have a birthday for him today. I mentioned a

(06:16):
little bit later, and it's gonna I'm gonna take a
and take his heart and to squeeze it and crush
it today. But but anyway, so you know how you
know now he's a dad that you can get him
on dad things. So and I've got something for him today.

Speaker 7 (06:28):
I love you right exactly right, So anyway, but yes,
Gary has been putting my life to teach me patients.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
From the text line, you are correct. But anyway, so
how you can't take it Rick turkey hunting. I mean
his head's moving around like he's watching a tennis match.
So anyway, the I do struggle sitting still. Turkey hunting
not not easy for me. Okay, So because we considered still,

(06:59):
I feel like I'm sitting pretty still. It's really not.
It's not a statue. Yours are still little, So you
don't count anybody. The three of us have grown adult
functioning children. Anybody, am I the only one that can't
get them to respond to you and keep you going?
I mean, what's hard? I literally listen, so he says,

(07:22):
middle of the week, this is Brodie, Okay, middle of
the week. Hey, I'm feeling better because it's well, I've
got sick and he got sick. I'm out of the
woods pun intended. I'm on now. This was midweek, fired
up now now he always leaves everything just a little bit.
This is all I get on Tuesday, I have improved.

(07:42):
I am in okay, starting with me on Wednesday? Okay, great,
Yesterday Tomorrow is still looking good. Zero yesterday again? Can
you imagine what I'm going through having no plan? Zero again?
Why this from me? Why? Son? Why do you hate plans?

(08:03):
Me again? Plans are not bad. They helped so much.
Plans my last text. Plans never hurt anybody. Okay, nothing now, zero,
my goodness. Okay, and then and then, oh man, okay,

(08:24):
this is I'm in bed now okay, oh man, what
if I met you at the farm? Got to shoot
some b row in the morning for some project he's shooting,
I guess. Okay, okay, import it because sometimes he'll be
a w B. He'll be a wife bringer. Now, okay,
is cam Tastic coming? Mom would like to know, because
if cam Tastic's coming, mom may come see where I'm headed.

(08:49):
I said that sounds good. Mom is not a lock.
I really do need to know this, Okay, nothing zero right, Okay,
because now Sherry's asked me, was Cameron coming. I don't know.
I've been trying to just to respond to plans. So
here's j I don't know that. I can't get I
can't get our flesh and blood, that we provided everything

(09:09):
you ever had for to give me a simple text back. Okay, plan, okay,
So so anyway, all right, plans are good. Yeah, they
have heard anybody. Plan ain't never hurt anybody. It's not negative.
They don't help people, never hurt people. Okay, all right,
Then it happens sometime and sometimes then it happens. You know,

(09:31):
they have a dog. Now they have about the dog.
They have a dog. Now, oh boy, and here it comes.
How would you feel about us? So I guess she
is coming, bringing Lucy and leaving her in the crate
while we hunt, but let her experience the farm. Well
she's in a crate and there we go. Does that

(09:55):
even mean that now we've turned into a WB slash dB.

Speaker 2 (09:59):
Oh yeah, we got a whole nother. And I could
tell you the dB is real. Uh, the dB is
a game changer. I am not necessarily the WB.

Speaker 1 (10:08):
It changes things. The dB, it will be the w B.
The W can be can be pleasant. They go out
and they sit together. They watched there together. Yeah, and
now I'm just hunting.

Speaker 8 (10:17):
I used to be a dog bringer. It was a
dark period of my life.

Speaker 1 (10:20):
Yeah, oh yeah, you did bring me so now I've
got we got a dog going with the hunt.

Speaker 2 (10:25):
About the dbs when they just force them on you,
like I'm here and here's my dog.

Speaker 5 (10:31):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, the man who removed

(10:58):
the phrase what's your new from Society Week.

Speaker 1 (11:04):
Here we go, so still to come. People in the
box seats. We'll play around a Burgess ball with a
couple of them that we randomly draw in the winter.
Gets to spin the wheel today, could be a bundle,
could force us to do a bit, all right, It
could be bucks cash all right. So looking at people

(11:31):
on the text, So the the person right here, right here,
that's good. You guys make me feel so much better.
All caps over this grown kids things they never ever
caps respond to. Please for plans And yes, now we

(11:51):
all have animals. I'm the dog vacation spot. Go speedy
boom q speedy you speedy.

Speaker 5 (11:59):
That's it.

Speaker 2 (12:00):
I mean, at times I feel like we're running a
doggy daycare at our house.

Speaker 1 (12:06):
Yes, okay. At one point, did you charge an expert
to take him out for rex?

Speaker 9 (12:09):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (12:10):
Yeah, I mean yeah, just dump all your dogs here, y'all,
go have fun and me and your mam wist there
here baby, set your doll right.

Speaker 1 (12:17):
They be a lot and they've done a lot. By
the way, I know since see since mine it was fine,
see y'all, but since mine has already sprinkled. I always
laugh when mine give me an actual time, be there
one o'clock. Now, I know that's not gonna happen because
because because he's thrown out there, just that that never ending.

(12:41):
What he does for a living, which is to go
out and shoot different things with cameras, have to edit it,
get it together, got to go do a project, Gonna
shoot some b roll, you know, like he's talking shop
with me. Uh, he should have told that or that
and and be there at one. Now that's not going
to happen because what's going to happen is whatever he
shooting those people aren't gonna be on time. Then that's

(13:02):
not gonna mask Yeah yeah, and that's and now we're
throwing in. I'm gonna bring the dog as well. I
knew when they got the dog. You know that that
would somehow I would get involved in that dog world.
So today's the first step for me. It's too late
for you, too late for the person on the text. So, uh,
let me ask you a question. What type of dog?

(13:22):
It's just a mut?

Speaker 2 (13:24):
Yeah, like a big like a big medium medium, you know,
your typical black mutt with brown feet. Okay, Like, so
it's going to be like, uh, like, Lucy's gonna run
beside the side by side, and look what fun we're having.
We're running. We're running through the pasture. Yes, she's kind
of thing, but Lucy doesn't mind, so just cut. Then

(13:45):
it goes off into the woods and chase.

Speaker 1 (13:46):
Right now, Lucy seems to be good. I like to
go out. When I was over at their house, I'll
go outside, but I'd rather not go outside without one
of you who now got me from you know, the
animal shell. Okay, got it.

Speaker 2 (14:00):
I like y'all. I'd like to be around y'all. I'm
not really a runoff dog yet.

Speaker 1 (14:04):
Okay. Now, she's never experienced the great wide open of
the farm, so we'll see, right, don't think I yeah,
don't think I didn't think about it.

Speaker 2 (14:13):
Yeah, yeah, well you know over the year. You know,
Brody and JC are really close in age, and they're
they're very similar in some some cases, and I think
in their communication skills they're dead on. I mean, JC
is is out of the three, he is the He's
the one we have to sometimes track down for information.
Uh So last night they're hosting like a weekend series

(14:38):
up at UAH and so you know, you got to
run out and let's get there right and traffic and
all that and and like you said, plans are good,
Actually when you're two hours away, never heard anybody, never
heard anybody. Well, he sends this weird text last night.
You know they coach you know, I can just coach.
Coach says, send us to parents, you know whatever. And

(15:00):
it was this time, and I'm like, well, that's weird,
you know. And and I like Terry because we're you know,
getting ready for bed and everything.

Speaker 1 (15:07):
You know, how to plan.

Speaker 2 (15:08):
Yeah, uh, stretch eleven twenty, BP eleven fifty. Let parents know,
Like what that doesn't make any sense because we don't
need to know when you stretch and hit. Yeah, we
don't that that let parents know doesn't need to be
in it. So Terry responds and says, Hey, what are
you talking about?

Speaker 1 (15:23):
Oh no, you need follow up info. That's the worst.

Speaker 2 (15:26):
What time is the game tomorrow? Has it shifted or something?
The kid that's on the team, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (15:31):
I think I don't know. I don't know the team.
You have to be there at a certain time, right,
you're on the team. Uh.

Speaker 2 (15:39):
Then finally, okay, after he just let us sit for
a little bit, so now we know they'll let you sit.
Oh yeah, game one, game's been moved from three to
a doubleheader that starts at at one, and this, that
and the other, and I mean this very important information
two flowers away, so important. Well what does that mean
for y'all? Were playing a four games set? Y'all had

(16:00):
one Friday to Saturday, one Sunday. Are we still in
Sunday or with the double header move to Friday?

Speaker 1 (16:07):
What we got going on? Yeah? I think it's a
double header double header Saturday.

Speaker 2 (16:11):
You think you could you let somebody us know? And
so finally when you dial him in, yeah, let me
let me get dialed in on this.

Speaker 1 (16:20):
Well, thank you, buddy, I appreciate that. So finally he
comes back.

Speaker 2 (16:23):
Yeah, we got double header Tomar and a double header Saturday.
Nothing on Sunday, which is great for us because that's
along you know. Okay, So I would and then he says,
I would assume, like one o'clock is when we start Saturday.
You assume if you have broken down the word as soon, right?

Speaker 1 (16:42):
Right? Ok? Yeah? Are you in the team meetings?

Speaker 6 (16:44):
Right?

Speaker 1 (16:44):
Let me ask that?

Speaker 9 (16:45):
So?

Speaker 1 (16:45):
Can I ask you again? You are still on the
team right here?

Speaker 9 (16:47):
Right?

Speaker 1 (16:47):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (16:49):
But it's just he's just extremely responsible like Brody is,
and you know, we'll we'll do what he says he's
gonna do. But man trying to find him information.

Speaker 1 (17:00):
Out just don't communicate. They just don't. What does the
wife do? What does mama do?

Speaker 10 (17:05):
Well?

Speaker 1 (17:05):
She looks to me like, well, what are we going
to do? Well? Now, it's on me, of course it is.
And I'm waiting on him, of course it is. They
want you to get information that you have to get
from the son who's not giving you the information. I
will tell you one thing, Greg, I wonder if it's
working for you, and I haven't started doing it as
much as I'm going to because I know I saw
this happen with our parents and it won't help you

(17:28):
because jac is not married if the adult son is married,
just start communicating with the wife. Oh yes, if you'll
reach out to the wife, you'll get the information you're looking.

Speaker 2 (17:37):
Well, Maybury, we do go to her with Tyler. Nothing
about right, but I mean, thank goodness, you know, uh,
we sometimes can keep up that.

Speaker 1 (17:47):
At one point I thought, was Tyler back in Alaska?
Where is he? Right?

Speaker 2 (17:51):
You know?

Speaker 1 (17:52):
No, I mean they have their busy lives.

Speaker 2 (17:54):
I'm not asking them to call simple just a little
communication is all.

Speaker 1 (17:59):
How hard? How hard is the game? Time has changed?
I'm on the team, so I know, right, how hard
is Yes, I'm not seeking anymore. Yes, I'm going hunting,
and here's what time I'll be there. That's These are
not hard things. They're not a hard thing.

Speaker 2 (18:13):
Matter of fact, sometimes it's harder to miscommunicate because it ends.

Speaker 1 (18:17):
Up creating issues you have just communicated.

Speaker 2 (18:22):
So yeah, so apparently we have a double header today
and the game has been moved up by a couple
of hours.

Speaker 1 (18:27):
Unless it changes, unless it changes, unless it changes, and
we'll find that out right. Everybody's saying, once they get married,
you definitely go to the wife. That's where you get
the datus. Bottom of the hour, you got the Rick
Burgess Show.

Speaker 5 (18:44):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, the man who has
never been fashionable to anything we put you.

Speaker 1 (19:04):
I mean we've clearly how can people not know how
to be on time? And thank you for being with
us now there are things you can't control, like as
some of you are right now, and y'all really need us,
and I mean you need us bad. You're stuck in
some sort of traffic. You didn't see that coming, and
there you said, I'm so sorry, but we're here for

(19:26):
with you.

Speaker 6 (19:26):
We'll we're all along.

Speaker 1 (19:28):
Hey, let me talk to you about something.

Speaker 11 (19:30):
You know.

Speaker 1 (19:31):
We're updating you daily about the very active first one
hundred days of the Trump administration. A lot of exciting
things going on, and if you would like to maybe
even be more informed. If you're a member of AMAC,
that's the Association of Mature American Citizens, then you're getting updated.

(19:53):
It'd be a great, great time. They have a one
hundred day tracker for the members. Now, remember the Association
of Mature American Citizens now over two million people strong.
For those of us that the first time you started
getting the aa ARP stuff and you were like, oh,
look at these discounts and here's some things I may
need is you know, I become you know whatever, the

(20:14):
current deal is mature citizens seeing season citizen. What it
means is getting older. Let's just embrace it. Okay, it's
like us changing, you know, bifocals to the name. What
are they call now? You don't call them buyfocals. You
call them progressives? Aggressive, they're progressive. No, how about this, buddy,
you need you need both. You need some reading glasses

(20:35):
and you can't see. Okay. So anyway, the Association of
Mature American Citizens, unlike AARP, they're a lobby from a
conservative point of view. So but they do agree and
I agree with this. These people that a lot of
us voted for for change or are to get us
back to being actually inside the constitution, we do need

(20:57):
to hold them accountable. Go uh no, no, no, we
sent you there. You got to have the stomach to
take on the people that call you evil to make
America great again. So right now, there is a discount
available to you. Now inside that membership, you're gonna get
the one hundred day tracker. You're gonna get all kinds
of you know, discounts on travel and restaurants and all

(21:18):
those things. You love. You're also going to get the
AMAC magazine, America's number one conservative magazine. So and you're
gonna get help if you need it with Social Security
and Medicare and all that medicaid. So right now, in
honor of the forty seventh President, they've got a five
year membership for forty seven percent off normally sixty dollars.
Now you get it for thirty two. So, so go

(21:41):
right now to AMAC dot us slash Big Vox, AMAC
dot us slash big Vox or Rick burgesshow dot com
under the sponsors. All right, so let's discuss the super Bowl,
the Big Game. The Big Game is coming up. We've
had some fun with that yesterday we Greg's right again
was super Bowl and speedy speedy by me lunch on

(22:03):
location yesterday. Catch that in the archives if you didn't words
around watching football, even though even if it was going
blind right, even though somebody did not understand the difference
between pork pork pork skins the snack and pig skin
of the football, Even though I know footballs aren't made
out of pig skin anymore, we still call it that. Yeah, yeah,
but but it's col hide now, isn't it. I think

(22:28):
it is so. Speedy was telling me as we were
all getting ready before the show started today that the
Hall of Fame class is out and and I have
a feeling that I already have my button ready to
push on the craken Uh huh, Eli Manning right, still
not there? Greg? The first year eligible is I don't know.

(22:52):
Is this his first year to be eligible? Speedy, I'm
not sure that's important. I can tell you, guys, one
of these guys, he's got some negative stats, a lot
of interceptions, has a couple of Super Bowls though, right,
I know at least two. Well I think too, Jong, Yeah,
do you automatically get in if you're I don't think

(23:13):
this was his first year of eligibility right, so now
that this.

Speaker 5 (23:15):
Will help release the crackest surprise.

Speaker 1 (23:19):
Year, Okay, I'm not shocked that he didn't make it
first year available. No, that does No, that doesn't surprise
me at all. I really thought you probably would be
the person who would tell everybody get real. Yeah, and
now I don't have I'm not I haven't gotten many
stats or anything like that. But I'm just saying, you know,
it didn't end great. It's the last couple of years.

(23:40):
Right here you goes and yeah, I'm just saying he
will get in it. But I'm not surprised he didn't
get in it.

Speaker 2 (23:46):
Now, So he who was only named to four Pro
Bowls in his career, He never led the league in
passing yards or passing touchdowns, he was never named to
an All Pro team, and he only made the playoff
six of his fifteen seasons. He also only thinks seven
winning seasons in the span of his career. He was
one seventeen and one seventeen.

Speaker 1 (24:07):
I really know why.

Speaker 4 (24:09):
Now.

Speaker 2 (24:09):
A lot of times it timings everything. You can't help
what team you play for. But that's true too, but
you are judged by that. Yeah, I mean, what are
you gonna do.

Speaker 12 (24:17):
He's top eleven all time passing yards and he's top
ten in touchdown Yeah.

Speaker 2 (24:21):
Yeah, I'm just giving you some status and that's gonna
happened along. The reason he might hadn't have made it
for the on his first year is because what I
just said, I think he will eventually.

Speaker 1 (24:30):
Yeah, I agree. Do you think he should eventually get
in time?

Speaker 8 (24:33):
Super Bowl MVP two times?

Speaker 1 (24:35):
Yeah, he's not a first you know, first year guy.
When he when he's eligible. I don't think so, but yeah,
and you look at some of the other people that
are in there. Yeah, I think he will eventually, I think,
but he definitely not. I have no problem with him
not getting in this time, agreed. Adler doesn't.

Speaker 8 (24:51):
Oh, it's because he went to Ole miss I got it.

Speaker 1 (24:53):
Yeah, well so Adler, who has another lot of records.
There greg another character he's developing, Not Chris Adler, but
Chris Berman.

Speaker 2 (25:01):
Yeah. So here's who did make it. Okay, only four
defensive tackle Jared Allen, defensive back Eric Allen, tight end
Antonio Gates, and wide receiver Sterling Sharp.

Speaker 1 (25:16):
I think Sterling should already been in it. I agree,
Uh so, I don't have Allen. He was the big
guy from Minnesota. Run. Yeah, Jared Allen Hall of Fame.
It's how long has he been eligible? I wonder. I
don't know, but I don't have a problem that now.
I'm not familiar with this tight end like I need
to be. Oh, Gates played with her. He's one of

(25:38):
them former basketball players that they chargers. Yeah, he was
really good. I don't know if it's Hall of Fame
had Apparently.

Speaker 8 (25:46):
He was real good.

Speaker 13 (25:47):
He was on my fantasy football team. He was like
the best tight end and I know about it for years.
Oh yeah, yeah, but he was, like I said, I
think correct me on that. I think he was a
college basketball player.

Speaker 1 (25:58):
What is the other guy? I wanted to to correct
you because I know most times you're right.

Speaker 2 (26:01):
Again, check the other one that got snubbed. He was
middle linebacker for Carolina Panthers. Is it Cuckley? He had
integration because he of his head injuries?

Speaker 1 (26:16):
Luke Keickley? I think so. You remember the last one
he had with he was just like out of it.
It's not Jake Cutler.

Speaker 2 (26:23):
A lot of folks say he got snubbed too, Well,
yeah he was. But was his career that long?

Speaker 1 (26:28):
Though? I wonder if the length of his career hurt him.
I'm not sure exactly how many years he played because
of the head. Here's a question. Now we all know,
we all know might be we all know that winning
a Super Bowl is no indicator indicator that you are
a Hall of Fame quarterback. C. Trent dilferd Okay Schroeder.

(26:48):
There's others, however, Rad Johnson, Yeah, however, is it a
little different if you were the m v P of
the two Shipper Bowls that you want that back to eline, Absolutely, yeah,
it does. It's that's different. I agree because we all
know the MVP of the Ravens victory and that was
their defense. Yes, but I mean them in the eighty
five Bears were probably the two best defenses that ever played. Yeah,

(27:11):
and that doesn't mean you're not a great quarterback to
lead any team to a Super Bowl victory, and I'm
sure that means you're a Hall of Fame quarterback.

Speaker 9 (27:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (27:18):
Yeah, Carl Lewis was good man on the Ravens. Yeah,
Lewis Rays not Carlos. Carlus different.

Speaker 1 (27:26):
If there was any sprinter that could not play in
the NFL, it would be car Lewis. Do you remember
the experiment when they took Skeets Niam who was an
Olympic hurdle gold medalist and made him a receiver for
the forty nine Yes, I do. Played a few seasons
and he wasn't that bad, but he he did talk
about how terrifying it was. Yeah, it ain't like running.

(27:48):
It's one thing to run to the tape in your shorts.
It's another thing to go over the middle. During the
days when they allowed you to decapitate. Oh a receiver
and not a penalty.

Speaker 2 (27:58):
Yeah, so so real quick back to Adler's point, someone wrote,
imagine a quarterback who has two Super Bowl wins, two
super Bowl MVPs, is eleventh time all time passing yards
and passing tds and is not a first first time
ballot Hall of Famer and the other is. And we
remember this because we were at Todd Jones watching it.

(28:20):
He's credited as beating what everybody considered was the best
team ever. Remember the Patriots were undefeated and the catch
on the helmet going down.

Speaker 1 (28:29):
But are we prepared to say that catch was a
great throw by the quarterback?

Speaker 2 (28:32):
Well, he was in duress. I mean he was trying
to play. He did keep it alive. He played a
great game, both of his he played really well. But
I just think you'll get in.

Speaker 1 (28:42):
But it ain't this though, just not a first time.
You don't get mad about it. Yeah, Adler spit mad,
that is man. It's kind of like when Peyton got
messed out of the Heisman.

Speaker 12 (28:53):
Yeah he did get because Eli Manning looks like he
just got like hitting the face with a pillows.

Speaker 8 (28:58):
It's like all the time, do y'all's.

Speaker 1 (29:02):
Just get hit Facebook.

Speaker 5 (29:04):

Hits in Radio Gold, a brand new podcast that started

(31:39):

loading another hour's worth of some of the greatest moments
in Rick and Bubba history, celebrating those thirty one years.
And you can get that wherever you get podcasts. So
episode four will drop sometimes Saturday. Use the anders that

(31:59):
when that's they're one of those is normally available Saturday
morning at six a m. All right, there we go.
All right, so thank you buddy Central Time. So anyway,
so check that wherever you get podcast over the weekend,
and uh that that's that's always a lot of fun.

Speaker 2 (32:12):
Now, yes, no, I was just going to say, back
to the super Bowl. There's an announcement that we have.
It's a Daily Mail story that, uh, things are going
to look a little different on the broadcast as far
as the games.

Speaker 1 (32:26):
Are the games And now do you say different or weird?

Speaker 14 (32:29):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (32:30):
Well, imcfarlane was riding that machinery up down.

Speaker 2 (32:34):
You know, Yes, we're all confused.

Speaker 1 (32:40):
Yeah, first of all, what's bger sitting on.

Speaker 2 (32:42):
Yeah, it's gonna be Uh, they're gonna like unveel like
a new what they call a score bug, a score
bug at the bottom of the screen store bug.

Speaker 1 (32:50):
We're gonna like it to be annoyed.

Speaker 2 (32:51):
It's like the images of this, the graphic that you score. Yeah,
and and.

Speaker 1 (32:56):
Nobody cares about all I care about the score.

Speaker 8 (32:59):
Right, easy to see and read.

Speaker 2 (33:01):
Yeah, I said, yeah, I think I think we're gonna
see like the old and the new Daily Mail has
a story about how it looks like it had the
two logos that's on side the helmet with the score
and then the first quarter and whatever. Now it's gonna
have a little bit more information on there, like it's
gonna say like away team, home team, first quarter time,

(33:24):
how many seconds are on the clock on the media
we did, Yeah, and then it's gonna be like down
in distance and stuff like that. It's all gonna be together.
It's just gonna be it's gonna look different. So you'll
see that bug at the bottom of your screw. Okay,
let me go ahead and predict Let me go ahead
and predict it. I've never even seen the bug. Don't
know anything about this new bug. I know this information

(33:44):
we already had. What you're gonna this is just my prediction.
I could be wrong, because you know, let's face it,
we've all become cranky old men. Now, yeah, I could
be wrong. Well, there it is. I'm right already. It's
gonna be.

Speaker 1 (33:55):
Busy, it's gonna have way too much information, and it
won't even be as clear as what we had before.
This is this thing now, like we talked about yesterday.
For some reason, we want movies and TV shows that
we can't see now or here. I don't know. I
don't know who ever decided that was better. Everything's becoming
too busy and too too hard to follow and too confusing.

(34:16):
And I have a feeding The score boy is gonna
being the same thing last year, and I'll watch again
this year. Baseball theirs was so confusing trying to see
how many strikes, how many outs, and where the base
runners were, but especially how many strikes and balls and
how many outs. It was extremely confusing. Now it was not.

(34:36):
You wouldn't just look up and go, oh, it's there's
two out. You gotta go away minute. There's that little dots.
You see exactly what I'm talking about. It's too busy.
You're overwhelming us. No wonder, the whole world's anxious. Everybody
just keeps overwhelming us. We are over stimulated. Now, enough
with this already.

Speaker 2 (34:53):
Yeah, a lot of folks are saying the old one
was just cleaner. You know this one. This one is
what there's way too much going on out this was
this was revealed uh by some folks on social media.

Speaker 1 (35:06):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (35:07):
And and I don't know that Fox has absolutely confirmed it,
but the leak is out and so uh it's a
story today that the score bug at the bottom of
the screen just look going to look different.

Speaker 1 (35:17):
Now here's a breath of fresh air for some reason
for me and and and and people are agreeing with
us already today on your feedback video seven Adler, this
this this Jameis Winston covering the Super Bowl. I'm starting, Yeah,
I tell you. Then think I like what he's doing.

(35:40):
I really do. It feels very much like if we
were to send a correspondent to cover this, because I
heard him talking about it today on my way in
and I thought that's funny. And the other day in
the press conference, I thought it was funny and he
was trying to ask where he could end up with
a job. Yeah. I mean, I'm liking what Jamis is doing.
So here he is. He's now biking around New Orleans
and this one singing to people dry.

Speaker 15 (36:05):
I believe I can, I don't know, I don't care Harris.

Speaker 1 (36:16):
I don't care that.

Speaker 2 (36:22):
The background, it looks like it's a protester. Maybe No,
it sounded like somebody was was preaching on the on
the street corner.

Speaker 1 (36:30):
Uh, but I believe I can. That's funny, fantastic.

Speaker 2 (36:35):
And he's holding a Fox Sports microphone.

Speaker 1 (36:39):
I like it. You know, you're right. I think he
would be good to put him broadcast or just let
him be this guy just played by player color. I'm leaving,
just be part of the broadcast. He keeps this up.
And I mean, I believe I can draw. I believe,
and it's taking him. Yeah, it's harder to pull these
people he thought it would have been. I really feel

(37:01):
a little higher gear. I feel good for the people
who get to tell their friends. You ain't gonna believe
who bocked us around New Orleans, right, we were sitting
in the back. It was Jameis Winston. Winston, that'd be cool.
So so anyway, and uh, we we also have and
I know this is tough. The NFL Honors took place
six a. Here here is a picture of Bill Belichick. Yeah,

(37:26):
I think do y'all agree that when you're old you
can go too young? And it's just it's just it's
just uncomfortable.

Speaker 8 (37:33):
Get uncomfortable.

Speaker 1 (37:34):
Look at him, look at his way, his hair sweeped
on his head. These things he got.

Speaker 8 (37:40):
This is she couldn't be she could have been in
her thirties. She had to be in her twenties half naked.

Speaker 1 (37:46):
You don't forget that's true too. I understand that that
she is considered by the law to be an adult.
But but but I still think you don't want to
be in a couple where it just it's order line illegal.
I mean, it's just right on the line. Rick made
a great point. He goes, it's bad enough that it's
your like your daughter's age, Jesus granddaughters. Yes, that's it's

(38:13):
weird when your daughters would hang out with her, like
if she wasn't dating you. It's really where if your
granddaughter would hang out with oh man, I mean it's
super weird. Yeah, it's looking at him, that's the going.
So Snoop Dogg couldn't let it go six B. So
you go, Snoop. I don't know if you'll know this.
He's part of everything now everything. I mean, if you

(38:34):
if you don't have Snoop, you're not serious about it.
That's what we want James to turn it right. Yes,
that's a good point. So here he is. He couldn't
let it go with the NFL Honors making a joke
about it because.

Speaker 3 (38:43):
I've been a football fan for a long long time.
I mean, I remember back when the Cowboys was good. Oh,
I remember back when the Chiefs was bad. True, And
I remember.

Speaker 14 (39:00):
What was it? Bill Belichick's girlfriend wasn't even born yet.

Speaker 1 (39:06):
Oh my goodness, Bill Handler.

Speaker 12 (39:09):
For a second, he's like, that's a good one.

Speaker 1 (39:16):
But see that's not there's no there's nothing in that picture.
When you see that picture, we just saw that says,
I bet they're dating nothing. People even asked it happened
to me. It happened to me on was it was
it Wednesday. It happened to me this week when I
was out eating dinner with my wife that they asked,

(39:37):
is this together me? I mean, can you imagine ring
and every time he goes on and like what you said,
it does will look like he's spending time with his daughter.
It looks like he's spending time with his grandaugh gues.

Speaker 12 (39:51):
So he wore his seven Super Bowl rings and he
let her wear one.

Speaker 8 (39:56):
So she's wearing a Super Bowl ring before your favorite quarterback.

Speaker 1 (39:59):
Guys.

Speaker 8 (40:00):
Way of this working right now, So sorry.

Speaker 1 (40:01):
Top of the hour.

Speaker 5 (40:03):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 4 (40:11):
You better listen up. You know what we say, Bass,
I'm gonna tell you gotta find.

Speaker 5 (40:25):
Broadcasting from the world. The Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 3 (40:30):
What's to do?

Speaker 1 (40:31):
Going forward? The vox seats will fill again. Our second
group making their way in today, but they're digging the
first group from Tuesday, as we had someone in the
Vox seats go home on one thousand dollars, So that'll
be coming up a little bit later. Gary the Bulldozer Man,

(40:53):
the Spurmaster himself. Hi, y'all, don't mind. I mean, I
don't have to come back. I don't even need to.
People ask me all the time. I'm when you're going
my own again. Hey, we love when you're own. So
Gary is coming up, uh later in the program to
do today too with one of his stop buys. I

(41:14):
asked him about the demand of his Turkey call. You
know we're headed into turkey season. Uh speedy. Greg Adler
all here this hour and no, I mean I'm a
little bit of head. I'm not hearing the wood shop
and I'm a little bit of head. Probably I got
a few hundred of them ready to go, I said,
a few hundred years. That's just scare. I just don't

(41:35):
think this plan with a turkey call that's so beloved,
you handmaking them in the wood shop. I don't this
is this is not You've never been able to keep
up with demand. No, no, I mean I talked to people.
This happened to me. It happened. You know how. He
just interacts with the people in his turkey calls. He
texts me, Hey, he's a guy he talked. He got

(41:59):
one of my turkey calls. He said, he's emailing, and
you're not responding to him. Gary, what are you talking about.
Here's a guy's name, get back with him. I'm like,
so now you're talking to the audience and then now
you're becoming the liaison to their now airing their their
complaints to you or things they need for the show.
And uh. And I was like, I look, and I said,

(42:19):
I don't see any email from this guy. I think
he must have tapped it wrong or something. And then
Gary went back to him, and then the guy email
when I saw it. So this is what I don't
know what's happening between I don't know what's happening with that,
but he'll be with us a little later on in
and people are asking will Gary bring us breakfast? I
don't know. Oh, by the way, on that note on

(42:39):
the Vox seats, gone it, I know. Well, I mean
this is one of those things that we're happy for
the person, but a little bit disappointed. Yeah. Do you
remember all we went through on whether we were going
to try sausage balls, that the biscuit mix, be the
red lobster cheese biscuits or whatever those things are, and
we were all big debate do we want to try
all that? Well, we went ahead and said, look, bring

(43:02):
them in, let's try them. Dog gone. She got a job.
I know. Could she puts it a job day?

Speaker 11 (43:07):
Right?

Speaker 1 (43:07):
I mean, could you not say Monday, I'll start Monday,
I'm going to the Vox seats and I'm bringing red
lobster sausage balls. Maybe on her way in she'll stop
by me. I'm sure. I'm sure if you just hired her,
that's what you want to hear, right.

Speaker 2 (43:21):
Yeah, you're talking about the job she has been praying about.
She got and she got it. It was a good news,
bad news. Things news for her, bad news for us.

Speaker 1 (43:29):
I've been praying about them. Sausage. Right, yeah, that's it.

Speaker 2 (43:33):
But she did say she was going to reschedule and
come later.

Speaker 1 (43:35):
Oh sorry, that's it, of course. Yeah. Uh anyway, Uh
so Adler, buckle up, buddy. So I know how you
have a little little small children. So Ruby and Ezra.
So is it four and two?

Speaker 8 (43:50):
Yes, four and two?

Speaker 1 (43:51):
Four and four and two? Well today is uh Brooks
big love Burgess's birthday, twenty six years old. But I
want to show you a picture. This is what I
chose today. Oh boy, look at that Adler. There is
me and my little boy at the zoo if you
get the birds yep here, So he's loving it. Looking

(44:12):
his age right there, it is right in between them.
He's probably three. Oh yeah, okay. I want you to.

Speaker 2 (44:19):
Know you can't believe you weighed that much back then.

Speaker 1 (44:21):
No, no, probably really struggling. I want you to know that,
mister Adler, those two little children that you go home
to and sometimes maybe fel overwhelmed by, Okay, every day
I want you to look at that picture and that
little face of that little boy, wow, and realize how
quick he became twenty six. It happened so fast, very quick.

(44:44):
My son was born just the other day. He came
into the world in the usual way, but there were
planes to catch and chows to do. He learned to
walk while I was away.

Speaker 11 (44:57):
Don't blank.

Speaker 1 (44:59):
Now you know what I am. Now I'm the dad
that's like, hey guys, I'm over here. Hey Dad, we'd
love to get we We're busy, man. We got things
to do.

Speaker 8 (45:08):
Maybe some other day.

Speaker 1 (45:09):
Dad, but it's sure, And I's talking to you, it's sure.
And I was talking and the cats in the crater
in a silverspoon.

Speaker 9 (45:19):
Moon.

Speaker 15 (45:19):
When you're coming home, son, I don't know when, but
we'll get together dad, You know what.

Speaker 1 (45:26):
I have a good time. And it's off the phone.
It occurred to me. My boy was just lagging me
by we was just lagging me.

Speaker 2 (45:38):
So just having so far it does look now everybody
said they're thinking about their children and crying.

Speaker 1 (45:44):
Yeah, twenty six, she resse how quick twenty one years happened?
Very can I can I remember how those lower keats
and looking us feeding them at the zoom, Sure I can, Adler,
it was like it was yesterday. You had to be
careful with that Laura you did. Hey, they'd bote you. Yeah.

Speaker 8 (46:06):
I wonder if.

Speaker 1 (46:09):
He's got a bad history with pet birds. You'll talk
them in. Let's not take a precious moment. Let's not
take a precious moment. I get that away from so
wait a minute. By the way, another thing learned today.
If you do things in your past, no matter how
many times you remind people that Jesus has forgiving you,

(46:31):
it will tain a precious moment like this. It will
see it always matters. Yeah, okay, the but anyway, so
there you go, Happy birthday, Bud. So oh, and let
me prepare you for this. And when I hung up
to it's another cat's in the cradle moment. Hey, uh
you know? So anyway, what about what about it to go? Well,

(46:53):
you know, my mom and I were talking about, you know,
come over to Atlanta, maybe come see you on your birthday.
I know you work in Friday, but you know I
actually have plans for my birthday, but why don't we
find another weekend y'all can come.

Speaker 13 (47:10):
Then you hung up the phone, and as I hung
the phone to me.

Speaker 1 (47:20):
That I'd love to, but I've already got plans and
it doesn't involve you right, I'm actually doing. I'm actually
doing on my birthday what i'd rather do. Yeah, but
I can visit you'll any week. You and Mom come
on some random weekend and we work out later when.

Speaker 16 (47:37):
I have written nothing else, right, I'm bored. Okay, come
on there. Oh we did. We were used by God
to create you. But uh and all those things. But
you know, you have a good weekend. So it's so
thankful that you're having some friends get together. What a
great thing, you know. Of course it's a there's three

(47:58):
days in the weekend.

Speaker 1 (47:58):
But uh so so anyway, but all three are.

Speaker 12 (48:03):
Taking Speaking of Rick's history with birds, I actually found
footage of Rick petting his pet birds.

Speaker 1 (48:15):
God, it's guys, y'all have to understand about the story
that they're trying to ruin. My moment with the bird
surprised me. It came into my blind spot. You shouldn't
you shouldn't let a bird out of a cage in
your home and not get anybody a heads up, especially
in the conditions that house of the gathering. Rick Mam

(48:37):
brought up the other day. You remembered you and Rick
one of them stupid birds, because remember we bought the
parentage from our friend Bull. Why buy a bird from
a man named Bull? I don't know, but but we did.
He was a child, then went a man. But they
were both. He knew what he was doing. He was
tired of them because we had him about a month.
We realized they'd more trouble than they were not. Yeah, hey,
how about this? They they they relieved themselves number one,

(48:59):
number two at the same time. Yeah, which.

Speaker 2 (49:03):
Leads just more of a scatter a splatter pattern. We
had to cover the cage up the night so they
would't wake us up.

Speaker 1 (49:08):
Yes, and then that one we found out that bullets
sold us one that was ill. It was sickly, So
I thought I always that one right there, don't move much. Listen.
I thought I had it trained because it was sit
on my shoulder. But yeah, because that's all he could do. Great,
got that and trained trained. Another one wasn't training. Bite you.
I remember thinking, why does the green one that I

(49:30):
think it just fell off its perch, leaning to the side.
It's leading it in this a little bit minute, we'll
be back. All I'm saying is that or they grow
it fast. Enjoy go from feeding the bird. They came

(49:51):
home from college just to the other day, so much
like a man. I just had to say, sudden sitting
for a while, and I said, with a smile, what
I really liked that is to give me the car key.

Speaker 5 (50:02):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 17 (50:16):
Warning.

Speaker 5 (50:17):
In order to truly benefit from this show, you must
have a sense of humor. So like enough Francis and
enjoy the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (50:27):
Come on, yeah, everybody, come on in, settle in. We
got lots to do today, all right, So let me
talk to you about something that's not so much fun,
and that is running from the RS. Okay, there's a
Debbie downer, all right. So if you are in this

(50:48):
world and you keep putting this off and you're not
dealing with it, makes you look like a tax evator.
You know when I told you the time that I
had the the pleasure and the blessing of going on
a safari in Africa, and the guy told me if
we encountered a predator not to run, because it would

(51:09):
it would it would just trigger their instinct and then
I would only be tired when I was dead. Do
you remember that I do? So this is similar. The
RS doesn't like when you start looking like a tax evator.
It triggers their killer instinct. So it's really better to say, hey, hey, y'all,
come on out. They got us, and then do not

(51:30):
contact them on your own. What you need to do.
You're look, you're not one of the privileged. The privilege
get treated differently. You know why they got a tonne
of lawyers. You don't, I don't. We need an advocate.
So here's what you do. Whether you o ten thousand
to the rs or all the way up to ten million.
Their attorneys and negotiators have resolved over one billion and

(51:53):
tax debt, and you can trust Tax Network USAY to
get the job done for you. Now you can talk
to one of their strategist today, no obligation there, that's free.
Call one eight hundred nine to five eight one thousand,
or you can use our uurl TNUSA dot com, slash
big Vox TNUSA dot com, slash big Vox use the

(52:17):
link at Rick Burgess Show dot com under sponsor if
you prefer. Look, do not contact them yourself. They know
which ones to deal with the agents, to deal with
the agents to avoid. They have a preferred direct line.
So let's put them to work for you, and let's
get this done, okay, So staying a little bit in
the sports world. Last hour, we talked a little bit

(52:39):
about the big games slash Super Bowl. We talked about
some of that. We talked about the Hall of Fame
inductees have been announced, the new class, talked about that hit,
a little bit of NFL honors, talked about that, tried
to talk about that Bill Belichick has is dating someone
that's so young. Now you can't even feel good for him.

(53:00):
I mean you can't even look at it and go, hey,
good for him. You just kind of and go, oh,
that just seems so And like we all said, he's
not even an old man who's aged. Well, he don't
pull it off like Mick Jagger. There you go, I mean,
you gets a pass because he's Mick Jagger, right, But
so e didn't follow in that category. So now let's
talk about something else. Number one, the Lakers in this

(53:22):
Luca how do you say? His last name is Luca
don don Chick. So anyway, he was traded from the MAVs.
We talked about that, Maverick fans going crazy all that.
But first of all, Kamala Harris attended a Laker game
and if you want to see why the trade for her.
If you want to see why Kamala Harris lost, it's

(53:45):
because no one wanted to vote for Uh. It really is.
It was a bad candidate. So so watch her. She's
at the Lakers game and it doesn't even seem like
anybody even their cares. I mean, this is a person
that was was trying to be president. It's like, when
will the left get that people, even their own people

(54:06):
don't like Kamala Harris. I mean, what's her husband's name again?

Speaker 2 (54:09):
Is Doug Doug dougie dog?

Speaker 1 (54:15):
Stand down, stand I'm not gonna take it now. Greg.
This is where we need you as an easy job.
This is where we need you. So now, Luke, Luca, Luca, Luca, Luca.
You are my son, Luca. Why is it? And someone
wants know is there anything scientific about it? Why do

(54:37):
white people always look bad in Lakers uniform? I mean
he does. That's funny. You can't make white people look
cool in the Lakers uniform. It always looks better on
black people, it really does.

Speaker 2 (54:49):
So I don't know if any uniforms good on Luca, right,
but think about all the white people that have played
for the Lakers.

Speaker 1 (54:55):
They picture in your mind right now, like picture you know, Kurt.

Speaker 2 (54:58):
Rambis and then pick your magic Yeah all right, yeah
our picture James Worthy.

Speaker 1 (55:03):
I mean, they look phenomenal in that uniform. I mean,
but white people just struggle in this uniform. I don't
know if it washes us out number and I hate that. Yeah,
looks weird. Yeah?

Speaker 8 (55:15):
Is it just because it's pale on pale? Like what's
ping on?

Speaker 1 (55:18):
I'm pale too, So I can say that it seems
to wash us out a little bit?

Speaker 12 (55:22):
Can he not go outside with the jersey on just
like once a week or something? My goodness, a professional
athlete right the top of the top.

Speaker 1 (55:32):
Right, Yeah, so yeah it was freight then, Yeah, that's it.
Now I can't say that's the way I would look.
What kind of may not we kind of you're not
great now, I was in the Lakers. That's what that
would look. Yeah, Lucas, that's what our point. Yeah, Lucas
can do whatever. This guy's really good. Yeah, we're just
saying all white people struggle in the Lakers uniform color?

Speaker 2 (55:52):
Is that all the uniforms are just the yellow one,
especially that Yello it's even worse.

Speaker 1 (55:59):
But let's face it, though, you take somebody that Larry Bird.
You could put him in any uniform, He's gonna look bad.
That's just absolutely I would say that that's a great comparison.
I would say I would say the Laker, I mean,
the Celtics are almost the opposite. It's black people that
look weird in their uniform. You know. It's almost like
white people should all play for the Lakers, for the Celtish.
It's like, if you're white, let's put him on the Celtics.

(56:21):
Not only did Larry just with his whiteness and his paleness,
he also did look like a bird. I Larry Bird,
but Luca looks like the greatest athlete the world has
ever seen compared to Larry Bird. And that one was
so crazy about it is he was just owning everybody
didn't nobody can figure out Larry Bird. He looking good.

(56:42):
Larry Bird did not even have any muscle tone in
his legs. How could you run that much and have
no muscles in your leg He's one of the best
to ever play. How did he even get separations to
get a shot on? And he wasn't just sort of good,
he was very good and it just look good. He
didn't learn that why is this guy owning us? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (57:05):
But all Speaking of the Lakers, lebron is the oldest
to score forty points. Last night, he passed Jordan as
the oldest stat Is that what I just He became
the oldest player in NBA history to score at least
forty points.

Speaker 8 (57:23):
He was hot last night. I saw him make a
couple threes.

Speaker 1 (57:26):
About Bronnie, he had a foult shot.

Speaker 12 (57:27):
He did make his first three uh in the league,
Bronni did I guess maybe a game or two ago.

Speaker 1 (57:32):
So you really watched the NBA.

Speaker 12 (57:33):
I follow it on social media. I don't sit down
and want I love it. I don't have time in
my life, you know, on which I did go spurs.

Speaker 1 (57:41):
You're mad about Luca, right, that's true. Still can't see you.

Speaker 8 (57:45):
I thought, well, yeah, I need to move that stuff.
Yeah yeah, busy.

Speaker 15 (57:49):
Yeah, well you know also like how it's even let
me tell you there's a lot of things because I
know there's a lot of work.

Speaker 1 (58:00):
Well there's a lot, No, there really wasn't. We gave
up on what would have been hard work because we
just left the tool that would have helped us laying
right next to it. It threw us off by being
right by and actually in the right It actually came
with it, so that threw us a little bit anyway.
But that must have made a mistake.

Speaker 9 (58:18):
I left.

Speaker 1 (58:19):
Let me get my credit card out and rub it.

Speaker 2 (58:21):
We expected it to be in Bubba's office in an
obscure drawer, but it was. They messed us up by
having it right there.

Speaker 1 (58:29):
Yeah, right there. It was obvious. When it was so obvious,
so I had the logo of the company on it.
It's so great now that over there is what was
kind of hard. These two we just kind of do
that together. Yeah, but sorry, Hey, look some things not
everything we try and hear words right, Not everything works.
Everybody's face when they came in and saw it. Yeah
that look that looks good.

Speaker 8 (58:50):
It's pretty good. Tearing it down in the break room.

Speaker 5 (58:53):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. He was told good
luck finding a job that would pay him to be
the class clown. Rick Burgess.

Speaker 1 (59:17):
I'd like to say good morning to my English teacher
in high school, Miss Kelly. All right, as we are moving,
we got a lot to do today. Gary the bulldozer
man made let me tell you he brought a two
or to a glass eye. Talking about little Brooks in
his birthday today, and I started thinking about my children's

(59:39):
hum my son was borne just you had to day.
I was late, Mitchell, I had to be away. I
was crappy fishing, and I caught it goodn't good.

Speaker 4 (59:53):
Litter?

Speaker 1 (59:53):
Did I know one day he wouldn't have time for
me in the cradle. I mean, you can't even have
anything catch in the cradle. You can't even have a cradle.
So anyway, Gary is coming, by the way, this what
we just did. He hates does he? Why does everybody

(01:00:15):
come up with me? Asked me to sing? Y'all got
to stop at gracious.

Speaker 2 (01:00:21):
Well, Gary singing? The hits is coming.

Speaker 1 (01:00:23):
It's coming.

Speaker 2 (01:00:24):
It is coming coming to a store near you.

Speaker 1 (01:00:27):
Listen, all right, so you remember this from now. I
would never recommend this movie. Never. Greg and I had
an opportunity to watch it on regular television. They took
all the cussing out, so basically it looked like a
foreign movie. Yeah, so basically we had no idea what
the real dollogue was. But and this is the movie

(01:00:50):
semi pro and the character which I'm sorry, the character
Jackie Moon is a winner, okay, right, he's kind of
lost his way a little bit. I've noticed that he's
got some fallback positions that he goes to now that
he's he's trying too hard now. But anyway, funny guy
Jackie Moon, you know he was it was good night. Well,

(01:01:14):
if you remember, he would always try to get a
he had to get at least average two thousand fans
a game for this so they could be taken into
the NBA, right, and he come up with the crowded.
So he gets like this homeless guy who, by the way,
is from the Bad News Bears, the actor that played
up Kelly. Yeah, he's looking rough. Yeah. And and so

(01:01:37):
if you remember, the guy hits the ten thousand dollars
shot and he makes it. And of course, of course
he didn't have ten though Jackie Jackie didn't.

Speaker 2 (01:01:45):
He started screaming, stepped on the line. He stepped on
the line. Well, how about this really happened? Yeah, we
got we got a student. It's a halftime challenge with
Jackie Moon.

Speaker 1 (01:01:56):
Was Jackie Moon.

Speaker 8 (01:01:58):
It's a U mass student named no named Noah.

Speaker 1 (01:02:01):
And so there's an insurance the insurance company you know
that actually these places do not pay the winner. You
buy insurance, then the insurance, the insurance company. You remember
what all insurance is, we bet this event doesn't happen,
and you bet that it does. Car insurance is I
bet I'll have a wreck. They say, we bet you won't.
You know, life insurance, I hate to say it is

(01:02:22):
I bet I'm gonna die young. And the insurance comes says,
we bet you won't. I mean, this is how, this
is how this works. So on these holding ones, make
a half court shot, you buy insurance for that as
the promoter, and then if the person does win, the
insurance company pays. But you had to pay the insurance company.
And they know most of the time they got your
money and they pay nothing out but every now and then.

(01:02:45):
But boy, they are sticklers for the rules. So they're
going they're gonna they're gonna pull on this person. No money.
Your foot was on the line, right yeah, all right,
so we go time expliers.

Speaker 2 (01:03:02):
This is where they start with the layup. Oh yeah,
I got you now are you ready?

Speaker 1 (01:03:06):
Hey, look down here on the sideline. All right, So
there's the layup. Then here's the here's that, here's the
foul line shot I deliver. Now he's got to do
three pointer. He hit them all so far three pointer, yes, Oh,
now here comes the half point shot and getting everybody's attention.
Nobody's getting excited, not that bigger crowd yet. No, but

(01:03:27):
here we go. He's going to the half court shot
for what he thinks is ten thousand, and he shoots
it and he makes. Oh my goodness, So everybody's going crazy.
But the insurance company says, on the half court or
one of the shots. I think it's the half.

Speaker 2 (01:03:43):
It does look like the half court, and it is
kind of tough because the logo logo prominent at half court,
so I could see how he might Okay, there it is.

Speaker 1 (01:03:54):
They might miss it a little. So here he is
shooting the half court shot. We're watching it, maybe a
half half a foot. I don't, no.

Speaker 8 (01:04:01):
Crazy, give.

Speaker 1 (01:04:04):
You're a how hearted this to make all four of
those shots, not the first one so much, but the
rest of them. I'm sorry. That's that's a little Well,
these insurance companies, I'm telling you, they don't want to
write that check because they're bat and you won't. That's close.
So did they get another angle of it? Sure that
they had? Yeah, the camera set up to look at it, because.

Speaker 2 (01:04:25):
Your cameras and if somebody's there, like an official light,
I'm looking.

Speaker 1 (01:04:29):
Do you remember how funny it was throughout the whole
movie semi pro that the guy everywhere he goes, he's
haunting him. I want my money, yeah, and he won't
let it go and and and will keep screaming you
were on the line. And then look and he gave
him one of the big checks you know. Yeah, he
comes with keep trying to cash it and they won't
let me do it. You need to go back there,
know that. And he goes just got glitter on it,

(01:04:50):
and he's like, no, no, that's that's legit.

Speaker 8 (01:04:52):
Odds On Promotion is the company.

Speaker 12 (01:04:55):
And they say that his foot was on the line,
despite not being told before hand that it had to
be behind the line, so they're not even alleging that
he was past the line. They're saying he was on
the line.

Speaker 9 (01:05:06):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (01:05:08):
Wow, terrible.

Speaker 12 (01:05:09):
The prize package they've offered him instead is a little
a little bit sad, uh tickets to a to a
game in a suite, but still one hundred dollars in
gift cards for Mullins Center concessions and a swag swag.

Speaker 1 (01:05:29):
That is terrible. You know what, I do with that,
I take it and throw it out.

Speaker 12 (01:05:32):
Oh a pair of court side seats to a select
women's basketball gameless.

Speaker 1 (01:05:41):
So have any of you ever been involved in these contests?
You have what I've had to host him? Have you
ever tried one? We were doing the three on three
one time and they had the ten thousand shot. You
never been the contestant?

Speaker 2 (01:05:53):
No, no, no, But I have been part of, you know,
whoever's involved with game day operations of trying to tell
the contestant the rules, like, hey, back to what he said,
can't be on the line, has to be behind the line.
All these dr Pepper you know, scholarship, you know deals.

Speaker 1 (01:06:11):
I've been in a number.

Speaker 2 (01:06:12):
Of those, and and you do have to make sure
they understand, Hey, now you can't your foot can't be
on the line. You got to do this, you got
to do that. And then the official you know that's good,
that's not good. Who's counting all? That is very important?

Speaker 1 (01:06:25):
Did you? Greg? Was it you and me the reverse strong? Oh? Yeah,
that was us? Should should we just not mention that? Well,
I mean all these people are long gone. First of all,
it was terrible. There's no way it was a setup
because we weren't in on it. We could have busted.
The whole thing is you know the reverse drawing where
they crank nobody pays one hundred dollars for a ticket

(01:06:47):
boy and they pull them off, you know, and the
last one up or you know you split it whatever,
actually split one. So well, brag about that. There's there's
two numbers left. So they said, we're going for the wind.
We're not split. Well, we look in the barrel because
and another thing, it was weird. This barrel w wasn't
clear that you could see through. It was not a

(01:07:08):
clear barrel. There's one ball in there not to not to,
so the winning number has never been in there, and
there was never a chance for to get to pulled.
And it was just an accident. Somebody didn't put all
the balls in there. This person had won from the
very beginning. So they had gotten an argument about you know,
the rules for auctional law or something. They got in
a big argument. They were already mad. So I looked

(01:07:29):
at the guy in charge. We pulled that ovenue out
and they go, oh, the other guy wins. I said,
you need to get a ping pong ball write that
number on it. I said, because it wasn't in there.
He said, are you serious? Absolutely? Oh, because if you
tell them that we're going to have a meltdown, yep.
And I'll go ahead and say that I've there's a
lot of things from my childhood that you still hang
on to. And Greg, you know, at Sunshine Skate Center,

(01:07:51):
I was wronged on the speed skate coming to you. Yeah.
I was winning the fastest skater alive at Sunshine Skate Center.
I was mopping the fold and that ringer showed up
and they let a guy like come in. Like it
be like you be in the middle of the playoffs
and you made it to the quarterfinals and a team's
entered the playoff that didn't went in there at the beginning,
and you can't let this guy come in. And he

(01:08:13):
was really good. Yeah he was really good. Kind of
a hippie guy, kind of lean, real fast. But it
seems like, yeah, yeah, they let him in. But the
way the points system was, he was going to have
to win every one of them on the way out.
But but he could. He could. He was easily. He
was the best skater alive. I think what second. I
was second, but he he was. He had his own
skates he is apparently he he looked old enough. He

(01:08:35):
probably had a job, probably, probably worked worked at an
auto body paint shop, probably, and he had some really
nice skates. He was very wiry. Yeah, but he had
not been there weeks prior. In all, in all the playoffs,
I thought, I thought I got robbed. I mean, didn't
they give you a free coat? Yeah? But you think

(01:08:55):
but you think you think I didn't want that trophy
with him skates on top of it. Yeah, I thought, yeah,
you're supposed to get some red devil wheels precision from
the shop. How'd you feel the first time you saw
him coming in? Well, I knew you were in trouble.
I thought he's got to get injured. Rick's knackabema. Now
I saw him put out his cigarette and put his
skates on. I'm like, uh oh, yeah, we'll be back.

(01:09:22):
More of the Rick Burger Show coming up right after this.

Speaker 5 (01:09:27):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. They can do it,
the Truth, The Big Butcher Show.

Speaker 1 (01:09:46):
Nice, right, We're with you, Thanks for being here. Still
to come, Hey, Gary will be here box seats still

Louisiana have out here, looking forward to being there. Lord

(01:10:35):
from the thirty one years of the Rick and Bubba Show.
If you don't have that, download it wherever you get podcasts.
So we continue to get updates on the crash. We
do have an update now. This is the military crash,
the one that involved the black Hawk crew and the
American Airlines commercial flight horrible horrible story, sixty seven dead.

(01:10:59):
They this is something that people were saying and now
they're confirming that the black Hawk crew and remember experts
were telling us this was likely true, and it is
that the black Hawk crew were likely wearing night vision
goggles at the time that the plane crashed that killed,

(01:11:19):
as we said, all sixty seven people on both of
the in the helicopter and on the plane. So they're
saying it was a routine mission and they were trying
to renew the twenty eight year old Captain Rebecca Lobox's
annual certification when it crashed into the American Airlines Flight

(01:11:41):
fifty three forty two on its final descent into Reagan
National as we know, somewhere around nine pm local time.
So they believe that given the mission and given what
we've heard and what we did not hear on the
cockpit voy recorder, they were wearing night vision goggles. Uh.

(01:12:03):
And that's what a spokesperson is saying. And they didn't
find any indication that they they would not have had
them on. But again they're still saying still some of
this is still preliminary.

Speaker 14 (01:12:15):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:12:15):
And they say it was a training mission. It was
called a check ride, whatever that is, uh. And it
says there are three check rides the Army performs each year.
One includes instruments like night vision goggles. It's an annual
check to determine the pilots, you know, proficiency and flying.
So it's like a recertification, an ongoing you know, you're

(01:12:37):
just working on it. You don't ever want to get
to where you can't do that. So they are saying,
because that was one of the things that the experts
are saying pretty early. Yeah, they probably had night vision on,
so which means they probably never saw the plane ever.

Speaker 2 (01:12:52):
And that's obvious. And they you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (01:12:54):
And then didn't they were higher than yeah, yeah, yeah,
and it didn't.

Speaker 2 (01:12:58):
We say that the investigation from the flight, the actual
commercial flight in the last second, they looked like they
tried to pull up, like they saw it at the
very last second.

Speaker 1 (01:13:08):
Correct. So and you know a lot of people are
now saying, should we have these kind of margins, should
we have this kind of traffic with these kind of margins. Again,
these people could be It doesn't bring them back, I
understand that, but again maybe they can. There can be
a positive that comes from this, that things will change

(01:13:29):
that will save lives in the future. We've certainly seen
that before. Also, remember we know that the Trump administration
from Trump updates executive order that bans trans athletes from
women's sports, meaning biological males cannot compete in its biological
females in the NCAA has officially changed its gender eligibility

(01:13:52):
policies to ban all biological males from women's sports, one
day after the President, of course, signed an executive order
to address the issue. Meaning they're not pushing back, you know,
the surprising Yeah, the exact some federal judge somewhere would
put the block on it.

Speaker 2 (01:14:09):
Well down inside, they're probably like, there you go. Thank goodness,
that's true. I think Speedy's right, so they can go. Look,
they told us we had no choice.

Speaker 1 (01:14:18):
This puts him in that position. They didn't want it anyway,
they solve the obvious problems with it. They probably knew
the Title nine lawsuits were coming and that they would
be pretty solid. So now they get the best of
all worlds. They appease those of us who thinks this
should not be going on. And at the same time,
there's a common sense they can, right, they can look

(01:14:38):
at the ones that live in a fake world and say,
we had no choice. It was an executive order. Yeah,
what are we to do? Yeah? What what what are
we to do? But now let's turn out get on
an al things so we can fix that. Yeah, now, yeah,
now let's see, Well there's got to be nil is
not a bad thing, but it's just it's what it's
turned into was Well, again, we may say it was

(01:14:59):
never or the intention, but but you common sense could
tell you in logic, this is what it was gonna
turn into, exactly what it is. I hurt someone talking
the other day under the same flag. Title nine also
may come and play here on these collectives, okay there,
because you got to spread it equal Yeah. True, you
know they're gonna come look at that money. The true
or people just donate money and we just give it

(01:15:21):
to players. So yeah, I forget. It was some sports
show I was listened. I don't remember if they said
the title line is gonna eventually catch up. Well, yeah,
I think some of this, Like we've talked about so
many times before, I think so many times we almost
rely on human beings to not be okay with things
that you really you would think none of us will

(01:15:41):
be okay with. Like I've said many times about the
welfare program. I don't think anyone ever thought that, especially
a grown man, would just be okay with being mentally
and physically able to work and just not work and
take a check. There was a time thought that's not possible.
Take Well, like you said, you go back to the
depress and you see it in the movie Cinderella. Man.

(01:16:02):
Those people even were trying to pay the government back
for the money they got in the depression to get
them through a difficult time. That attitude is long gone,
So I think in same thing with this. I think
we kind of thought maybe there would be no biological
men that would feel good about dominating women's sports. But
we were wrong. Oh yeah, we were wrong about that.

Speaker 2 (01:16:25):
It's really a shame that the executive order even had
to take place. And being the father of a bunch
of boys, I mean, I didn't like it, but I
can't imagine having a daughter that is competitive in whatever
she does and then have all of her training, all
of the time, spent, the finances behind it, all of

(01:16:46):
that just stolen from them because some dude wants to
compete in the women's sports.

Speaker 1 (01:16:52):
I can't imagine the way that fits. Who competed as
a male and was not in the top five hundred,
then he goes there and dominated.

Speaker 12 (01:16:59):
Yeah, the games, was there the swimmer, they got a
lot of that ball rolling, so to speak, But.

Speaker 1 (01:17:06):
The couldn't use another analogy.

Speaker 8 (01:17:08):
I'm sorry about that.

Speaker 12 (01:17:09):
And again to Pylon, even more people are now compiling
footage showing the difference between Trump interacting we're having all
those little girls around while he's signing the executive order,
versus Joe Biden creepily.

Speaker 8 (01:17:22):
Like yeah, side by side, it just looks even worse.

Speaker 12 (01:17:26):
My goodness appropriately defending women and the other one's creeping us.

Speaker 8 (01:17:30):
All out.

Speaker 1 (01:17:34):
To get away from.

Speaker 12 (01:17:35):
Yes, there's there's a lot of these instances in which
a little girls are trying to get away from.

Speaker 1 (01:17:41):
I'm sorry in the world that right there. I don't
like any of it just a little bit. By the way,
did you see Babylon b They're so bad sniffing kids?
Babylon Babylon Bee? Said Biden under his new his new
Hollywood agency deal, has already landed his first role as
the dead Body and the Lease drama, a background actor

(01:18:03):
they don't miss, don't miss. Yes, I heard somebody talking
about that. They said they can put him in the
soap opera. He can play like like you said, my
dad birthday goes, but he'll keep sitting up, messing it up.
They looked at that in the horror fam You're stay,
but I got.

Speaker 18 (01:18:18):
Larry Lamb.

Speaker 8 (01:18:22):
In a zombie movie.

Speaker 1 (01:18:23):
Okay, sniffing people is just weird, nobody likes that, nobody
likes to be sniffed. No top of the hour, we'll
start with phone calls to start next hour. A lot
of topics already on the table. Gary is still to come.
Eight eight eight, the number six, Big Vox.

Speaker 5 (01:18:37):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, Big Bucks Entertainment pre
Sam's The Rick Burgess Show with Speedy, Greg Burgess, Edie

(01:18:58):
van Id Love and Rick Bouches.

Speaker 1 (01:19:03):
So here we go, a brand new hour. Thank you
for being with us, as you heard everybody here today.
Gary the bulldozer Man stopping by this hour. We got
a big box seats ready to go. They're coming next hour,
so we'll see a lot to do. Phone calls will
start the hour. The number is eight eight eight, the

(01:19:24):
number six, Big Box. We are aware that tune in
is having an issue. We are investigating that now. Likely
is on our end because we did come in and
saw something acting strange today, so we check with tune in.
This is not on their end, so it's probably on

(01:19:45):
our end. We're working on that, okay. So anyway, if
you want to join us by phones right now, you
can the number that I just gave you, the real
Greg Burgess taking those as we start a brand new hour,
go to Coal and lines are opening for you now
Coal is out of the Free State of Florida. Cole,

(01:20:07):
Welcome to the Rick Burgess Show, brand new. I wur
what's on your mind?

Speaker 19 (01:20:12):
Oh, Man, ain't much to it. I was just calling
Rick to I know Geary's coming in today, and I
called a couple of weeks ago and we were talking
about the turkey hunting contest and.

Speaker 10 (01:20:22):
Man, we got to get that nailed down. Turkey hunting
seasons getting closed.

Speaker 9 (01:20:25):
Man.

Speaker 1 (01:20:25):
Uh, you know, but you saw what it turned into, Cole.
It turned in to somebody has got to take Gary
hunting on their land, and he gave so many stipulations.
It can't be too far away. Hey, Now, look, I
ain't driving all over the country, and you know I ain't.
I ain't taking them to where I hunt. No, I
don't want nobody know about where I hunt, you know.

(01:20:47):
So I don't know how we overcome that.

Speaker 19 (01:20:50):
Well, you know, well, you know, you just got to
think about that Monday following the hunt. Can you imagine
how that's gonna be the stories to be told?

Speaker 1 (01:20:58):
Now, Oh, I don't know, no doubt about that. I
think it's gold. We just got to get Gary to
agree to agree to something that is plausible. Yeah, you know,
something that we can actually pull off. Yes, so many requirements. Yeah,
well you'll hear today he's bringing a guy with him
that is actually hunted with Gary multiple times. And and

(01:21:19):
well we'll kind of we'll see if we can get
him maybe involved, you know, maybe his bunch can put
the hunt together. We give it away and Gary is
the god. Oh I like that. Okay, all right, so
let's go to let's go to Preston out of Mississippi.
Lines are opening up for you at eight eight eight

(01:21:42):
six Big Vox Preston, Welcome to the show.

Speaker 10 (01:21:46):
Go ahead, Hey, good morning, guys. Just wanted to give
a Greg a heads up and possibly put myself in
position for a profit star. I know they got the
Christmas lights still up. I'm assuming that still the case,
and at last it has been sick and you know
they even having trouble getting that down. I just want
to give him my heads up that when they eventually

(01:22:07):
come down, and they will come down, when they eventually
come down, she's gonna look around and go this is.

Speaker 9 (01:22:14):
Just so much, so plain.

Speaker 10 (01:22:16):
I just I do so guys just letting Greg note
he's headed for a remodel there.

Speaker 1 (01:22:22):
Whoa you think this could be got a remodel?

Speaker 10 (01:22:25):
Gosh, yeah, he's he's he's playing checkers and she's playing chess.
She doesn't even know she's doing it, but she's gonna
get there and go, wow, this is just so faint.
We just got to repaint this room, or we got
to move that touch, or we gotta something's coming.

Speaker 1 (01:22:41):
Wow you maybe by the way, I just laughed. Somebody said,
did y'all talk about the Babylon b headline that was
about women presson? You know what it said? First female
referee has thrown the flag, but she won't tell anybody
what's wrong. Gosh, that's good.

Speaker 2 (01:22:56):
So he's saying that the room looks so empty.

Speaker 1 (01:22:59):
Now no, he said, saying it's gonna be such a change.
She's gonna say.

Speaker 10 (01:23:03):
Yeah, gonna change, and she's gonna it looks so nice
before we just we got to do something. You got
some track lighting something in your future.

Speaker 1 (01:23:11):
He leave it up. You only got nine more months?
Do you put it up there? I keep saying, yeah,
is it still up? Is everything still up? No plans
to take it down? This weekend any plans and you
hear me? Yeah, partially, I'm gonna take some of it
now giving the green line. Did you hear what Preston
saying that could be happening? I can't hear you got

(01:23:34):
to put on headphones. But can you hear me now? Yeah?
Kind of? Did you hear what Preston said? Yeah? Yeah
I did, Thanks Preston. Hopefully.

Speaker 10 (01:23:43):
Hey, I'm sure she's worth it. I'm sure she's worth it.
You'll be happy to.

Speaker 1 (01:23:46):
Do it, absolutely, Preston is she won't whatever. But I
see what he's saying. I'm now I've now lost the
the the obbance of what was provided by the Christmas decorations.
So now my house seems too dull. So now we

(01:24:06):
must rededicate, We must redecorate it to make it more
lively like the Christmas decorations. It's coming, there's no doubt
about it. Have a good attitude, Greg.

Speaker 8 (01:24:19):
Yeah, why are you frowning someone like you do?

Speaker 1 (01:24:20):
About everything? God to Jerry, Jerry, Welcome to the show.
Go ahead. Hey, have y'all heard about Joe Biden's new
movie that they're doing. No, No, it's a remake of
that eighties movie Weekend at Bernie Sir weekend at Biden's.
That would be funny.

Speaker 18 (01:24:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:24:42):
Good, By the way, somebody saying, y'all just messed Greg
up so bad. If Lisa is listening, then she she
now has the idea. She does now where where I
think he might be? Okay?

Speaker 2 (01:24:54):
Is there was a lot of preparation for them hosting, yes,
and they needed to update some of the house. And
so Greg said, for months, almost like a half year,
he was he was working a punch list. So maybe
is she have it where she wants it now?

Speaker 1 (01:25:08):
Greg, we have already and even before we were hosting,
we were doing some remodeling downstairs, and all that has
been pretty much done in the downstairs. That will help
me some. Okay, all right, poor poor poor man who
thinks what he just said is true? Okay, the yep
is patch man back again? Is this Larry? The patch

(01:25:31):
got oh really well?

Speaker 2 (01:25:31):
You know when you asked him to uh to update
us today, you asked him to call back today.

Speaker 8 (01:25:37):
And not talk about patches.

Speaker 1 (01:25:38):
Right, Listen, Larry thinks when I'm on the phone in
here that he's talking to you because I got a
question for you. Or yesterday he was talking about how
you look good in that shirt and all that. He
thinks I'm you, But I don't know how you could
be doing the show and answering phone right. Okay, So Larry, yeah,
I got you?

Speaker 2 (01:25:55):
Okay, So which makes you smile?

Speaker 1 (01:25:57):
Look at look at you? Larry? You had a question,
a specific question today? Did you better not mention Patches?

Speaker 2 (01:26:04):
I mean, I mean, Larry, if you mentioned patches, I'm
gonna have to start showing you some tough leve on
this when you let us know that now your neighbors
and even the church doesn't like you.

Speaker 18 (01:26:15):
Can you get me now?

Speaker 1 (01:26:17):
Yes, Larry, I hear you.

Speaker 18 (01:26:20):
That that Karen Kleen and I has got a tree
that we keep up in our house.

Speaker 1 (01:26:27):
Also, don't tell me what's on it, Larry.

Speaker 2 (01:26:31):
Don't you tell me what's on it.

Speaker 18 (01:26:34):
There's not going on it. We get we take it
from the living room, drag it down the hallway.

Speaker 1 (01:26:41):
And assistant coach assistant assistant coach in the background.

Speaker 2 (01:26:48):
Okay, Yes, so y'all, y'all you have a tree that
you take down the hallway to where.

Speaker 1 (01:27:02):
And the gas trap say it against.

Speaker 18 (01:27:08):
The tree down and against him and prigged that.

Speaker 1 (01:27:12):
Okay, because if you're putting in the restroom. This is
not gonna have you be the neighbors. I'm just telling him, okay, room, okay.

Speaker 18 (01:27:20):
Okay, we uh take everything off, but and and depended
that back up in the gainst him, and then the
cats play in it.

Speaker 1 (01:27:32):
The cat, the cat play and then they come back out. Okay,
let many.

Speaker 8 (01:27:35):
Cats you got, Larry, yeah too.

Speaker 18 (01:27:38):
When we found more as a cat on the road,
and then the tiger was born outside as a Pharaoh cat,
we ended up that beating him constantly. Now he's hanged

(01:27:59):
down down and now he's an inside cat.

Speaker 2 (01:28:02):
Okay, great, Okay, so that's Tigger. What's the other name, Carrie?

Speaker 1 (01:28:10):
Who's Harry? I'm so afraid he's gonna say Patrick Adams.
I was so afraid that cat was gonna be called looked,
don't yuh.

Speaker 18 (01:28:26):
Never. When Kevin and I get married, much of the manager,
we got a dog named We got a boxer there,
and we named it Susie.

Speaker 1 (01:28:43):
Susie the Boxer. Larry, I never thought I would say this.
I'm kind of pulling for a patrees now, you know.
I'm just just well, good to hear from you, Laird. Good,
thank you for letting Greg know he's not alone with
with trees. He did get through about a three minute
conversation and he never mentioned patches. Yeah, that's my challenge.

(01:29:07):
That's improvement.

Speaker 8 (01:29:08):
Did you see they got married at the Humane Society?

Speaker 10 (01:29:11):
Did they hear that wrong?

Speaker 1 (01:29:12):
I think I'm hoping you heard that he said. Is
that what he said? He did say that they got
married at the Humane Society? He got the cat I
couldn't understand all of it. They got chaos.

Speaker 5 (01:29:23):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (01:29:44):
A right, So we're back.

Speaker 10 (01:29:47):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:29:48):
So we're working on the tune in deal. So some
of you are saying you're you're good, but remember when
we say tune in, we're talking about the Rick Burgess
Show tune in app if you listen to like saying
some of the affiliates have apps that that should be
working fine for you. Uh, it's the Rick Burgess Show
tune in deal that has the archives of the daily

(01:30:11):
shows and all that too, and the live show. That's
the one that we're saying people are having a hard
time with. And we did come in to the studio
today and there was we had a clock blinking. And
anytimes see a clock blinking, that that's that's never good.
So so an a lot of people are now saying
that they believe that Larry out of Dublin, Georgia, who

(01:30:33):
were trying to help he didn't inform us yesterday that
his neighbors and also his even his church fellow church
members seemed to be avoiding him, and and we we said,
we thought it could be that he comes in a
little heavy with with the topic of patches, and so
we're trying to help him a little bit. But we

(01:30:55):
also have we also have people saying that now Larry's voice,
which is unique, is reminding them of the the uncle
in Christmas Vacation. Lewis. Yeah, I can say that clogway
up stole you. Yeah.

Speaker 7 (01:31:14):
Uh that that watch I say, I black.

Speaker 1 (01:31:19):
Say that's bad. It's not bad and not I'm sure
it's not as good as a man with a thousand voices,
but there it is. So so anyway, did you have
any luck with the tune in them?

Speaker 2 (01:31:32):
I did not, Uh, Adler and I need to have
uh a conversation and and then maybe we'd get some
answers come here.

Speaker 1 (01:31:39):
I do. I do think that that Larry showed restraint today.
I agree with the people on the texts that are
saying he got through it without saving that he did,
so that was a step forward.

Speaker 2 (01:31:48):
I love Carolyn being assistant coach in the background, right,
I just love that.

Speaker 1 (01:31:52):
I wish I could hear a little bit better. But
right well, we wish the whole call it would. I
mean the thing we got to work on next is
And again, don't don't worry out there. I know a
lot of you are saying that I probably will have
to help Larry on the ability to frequency of the show,
and I will. Don't don't worry about that right now.

(01:32:12):
I think we're still we're still kind of ahead on
content versus. Yeah, but if I but don't don't worry.
I mean, yesterday we.

Speaker 2 (01:32:19):
Did ask him to call back today, so we did.

Speaker 1 (01:32:22):
And he did make it through without referring to his patches.
He did, and that that's a step forward. Now he's
still having down and he's going to have to give
us a patch update. He still hasn't quite got the
concept that he does he can't just pick up the
phone and call me. I think that's a I think
that's something that maybe he thought because he called. Remember,
he came to the show through my office voicemail, and

(01:32:45):
I think he thought I can when I picked the
phone call. I'm just calling Brick, yeah, because he talks
to me like I'm you Yeah, that's that's fine, which
is fine.

Speaker 7 (01:32:53):
I'm your brother Carolina asking you today, I'm black sing
show smoking.

Speaker 1 (01:33:02):
Huh No, No, that's just people were saying, that's what
it reminds him of. It nothing wrong with uncle lewis
that you said? By the way, since we sang the
song Patches yesterday, the one by Clarence Carter, You're not
going to believe what I discovered yesterday that other song

(01:33:22):
by Clarrence No, no, no, Greg, I had that one
had a young boy with patch. It's so odd that
you see so gracious a lot. Just come in, don't
don't mind just coming out there. Who gave him the coat?
He's got mine? What he has? Your coat? Well during

(01:33:44):
the big year end or he was in a handle,
I'm like just here just to use this or is
that brit mm hmmm mm hmm. What what did you say? Yeah? Yeah,
like you just come on in, but just busted on.
Hey buddy, yeah, am we're good.

Speaker 14 (01:34:01):
Just you told me to get here, good till here?

Speaker 1 (01:34:04):
I am well I didn't mean. I mean you could
have come in, settled in. Let's come back and set
up a segment with you. I didn't know you that.
This is not this is not you're okay, you're here now.
This is not helping. We're in the same colors shirt.
It's not going to hear that. Come on, what did

(01:34:25):
you think Gary, the last time you were on when
people when people compared you in speedy like your father
and son.

Speaker 14 (01:34:36):
I'm still hearing it, are you now?

Speaker 1 (01:34:38):
Yeah? Where you go?

Speaker 14 (01:34:40):
I've tried to change the way I talked.

Speaker 1 (01:34:43):
Oh boy, I bet that was under that going.

Speaker 14 (01:34:47):
It's hard to get out of something you've been doing
sixty something years. You're right right, you know. I know
how you moped me and try to talk like man.
They ain't on to say nothing about it because it
just make you worse.

Speaker 1 (01:35:04):
Do you can say? Do you consider it an honor though,
that he's trying to do?

Speaker 9 (01:35:07):
Yeah?

Speaker 14 (01:35:07):
Sometimes just a little bit, a little bit of aggro bat.

Speaker 1 (01:35:10):
It is you when he sings and pretends.

Speaker 14 (01:35:12):
Yeah, I almost sang a song up there one day, and.

Speaker 1 (01:35:16):
I wish, please, please, Gary, please, you tried to sing mamentry.
Did you bring your keyboard?

Speaker 14 (01:35:23):
You know you can't bring that.

Speaker 1 (01:35:25):
But you're the one that posted playing it. You did,
it was really good. Yeah, we didn't know you were
that talented.

Speaker 14 (01:35:32):
But I'm tired of it?

Speaker 1 (01:35:34):
Did you hear what you're what of it?

Speaker 14 (01:35:37):
I'm tired, Oh, tired of it? Tard when you stay
talled down in kilt and.

Speaker 8 (01:35:44):
People don't say that anymore?

Speaker 1 (01:35:45):
Here did you come from?

Speaker 14 (01:35:46):
How come I'm sitting lower? And y'all are you need
to come to justice?

Speaker 1 (01:35:49):
See on the side, what would you do? Watch them
go down? He's about you sing that matter?

Speaker 10 (01:36:00):
Right?

Speaker 2 (01:36:00):
Hey, hey, I'm coming to help there.

Speaker 14 (01:36:03):
Look man, help daddy, somebody helped it. Yeah, it's stilling
a picture.

Speaker 1 (01:36:13):
Hold on just a second. Look, well there it is again.
There it is again. There they are. I'm telling you
you guys do if.

Speaker 14 (01:36:22):
You let that grow on out like a man. Wow,
you know.

Speaker 1 (01:36:27):
They do look a lot a lot. They do look
a lot a lot.

Speaker 2 (01:36:31):
Well, but we're bald with great oates.

Speaker 1 (01:36:34):
That's about it. That's your uncle Gary. So you you
think the impression is bad.

Speaker 14 (01:36:39):
He's a bad one when when you do it right,
well not well, I don't know. I don't even want
to talk about it.

Speaker 1 (01:36:48):
Okay, I'll try not to. I'll try not to do
it while you're here.

Speaker 2 (01:36:51):
Yes, okay, I can't remember what we were talking about
when he opened the door. I don't know, I don't
I don't remember right in the middle of something.

Speaker 14 (01:36:57):
Hey, get somebody sweep up of.

Speaker 20 (01:37:01):
I know it.

Speaker 1 (01:37:01):
Gary, I'm kind of sired of myself. Y'all.

Speaker 2 (01:37:04):
Get somebody in trouble. Every time, y'all break He does
a great job around here. And that was just for
when he got freezing and cold.

Speaker 1 (01:37:10):
Well, it's been seventy degrees for a week, it has,
so anyway, we'll come back. You not help him. Look,
Gary just turned around like like he noticed the text
line for the first time in his life.

Speaker 14 (01:37:21):
I thought you were staring him me or so we'll.

Speaker 1 (01:37:25):
Be right back.

Speaker 5 (01:37:27):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. The people who don't

(01:37:49):
like this show, you wouldn't like anyway, the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (01:37:55):
Yeah, come on, I mean, as we make our way back,
I do want to point you to relief Factor on
Natural Get a little older, kind of feel like ten
man need a little oil. Well, if it's tied to inflammation,
relief factor could be the all natural answer. It has

(01:38:15):
been for the majority of people who do the three
week trial, it's it's the starter pack, and in three
weeks you'll see. Now why three weeks, I'll tell you why.
You're not gonna it's not gonna be like the over
the counter stuff that really just kind of mask the pain.
You may get, you may get relieved quicker, but it's
it's temporary, you know. And then you're not supposed to

(01:38:36):
take them like a supplement. That's not that's not even
how they direct you. The opioids all kinds of problems
with those addictive properties. But what Relief Factor is going
to do if it's inflammation, They're going to go to
the root of the problem. These four botanicals, we've researched
them for years, go to the root of the problem.
And then once relief Factor resolves this problem, it's resolved

(01:38:59):
for good. That that's the difference. So we're talking about
completely life changing. So if you haven't gotten yours, do it.
I take it every day and we get great letters
from people who do. I'd love to hear from you.
Go to relief Factor dot com now to get the
starter pack for three weeks. Nineteen ninety five are called
one eight hundred the number four, and then relief, Gary

(01:39:20):
the bulldozer Man is visiting with us, the Spurmaster himself.
We're glad to have him with us again. And so Gary,
I know you've become a bit of a celebrity and
you're still having to deal. Oh well, you're having to
you are having to learn, you know that. I mean

(01:39:41):
people are always coming up to you and talking to you,
and are you are you kind of finding a way
to handle that?

Speaker 14 (01:39:49):
Now I'm trying to get just on Instagram? What are
you putting on Instagram? I don't know.

Speaker 1 (01:39:55):
Goodness, it's you and you and your Instagram.

Speaker 14 (01:39:59):
And look at text I sent you.

Speaker 2 (01:40:01):
No, I have one from you.

Speaker 14 (01:40:02):
See if he went through, I may just send it
somebody else.

Speaker 1 (01:40:05):
So I'm saying, people are always coming up to you
talking to you about being on the show, and when
you're gonna be on the show. Yeah, singing, singing, shout outs.

Speaker 14 (01:40:17):
Yeah, shout outs. You know. Uh, well, I forgot what
I was gonna say. Uh now you know, I was
telling you I've had some work done at the house
down there.

Speaker 1 (01:40:34):
All right, So Greg didn't want to hear this, by
the way, Well I heard.

Speaker 14 (01:40:37):
That coming in that what happened. Greg, you're gonna you're
probably gonna get ready for it.

Speaker 1 (01:40:42):
The red remard. Gary's got a remark. Gwin's finally got I've.

Speaker 14 (01:40:46):
Got half a caravan of Mexicans down all right, now, what.

Speaker 1 (01:40:50):
You gotta go?

Speaker 14 (01:40:52):
Well, they hope I don't show.

Speaker 1 (01:40:54):
Up, And here they go, Greg and Gary together.

Speaker 14 (01:40:59):
I'm telling you they man Nams works. Now, you can't
you can't say nothing about that. You can't find nobody
else work but the Mexican work.

Speaker 1 (01:41:15):
And this is and I remember this day, Yes I do.
I remember it now. The show is going great.

Speaker 14 (01:41:20):
Were doing the thing about it? You know, I anywhere
all them guys down there at Russell Doutt Center where
man if I didn't drake me right, I go broke.
I'm telling you what are you talking?

Speaker 4 (01:41:33):
What you know?

Speaker 14 (01:41:34):
All the stuff I'm having to buy paint, oh buddy, sheep,
rock and lumber. And they do a good job down there, though.

Speaker 1 (01:41:43):
You know I have to do very must deal.

Speaker 14 (01:41:49):
Is no, not really?

Speaker 1 (01:41:50):
Is that the one by Jack's?

Speaker 9 (01:41:51):
Are you there?

Speaker 1 (01:41:52):
Yeah? Yeah, I've been in there, a bunch.

Speaker 14 (01:41:55):
Age, a couple of goofy ones in there, but you
know them.

Speaker 1 (01:41:57):
In fact that you're trying to get some stuff out
there for free. I think you may be Speedy's daddy.
You're right the way.

Speaker 14 (01:42:05):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (01:42:06):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:42:07):
Yeah, my real dad actually texts and said he loves you.

Speaker 1 (01:42:11):
Love some dad.

Speaker 14 (01:42:13):
Well, I'm gonna tell you all dad. Another thing I
got up. I gotta say something about.

Speaker 2 (01:42:23):
Oh gosh, he's running the list of showers.

Speaker 1 (01:42:26):
I'm so nervous.

Speaker 14 (01:42:27):
Y'all go ahead and start talking.

Speaker 1 (01:42:29):
He was telling you about it. He said something about
a shout off. Now you don't mind how you don't
here to do some shout offs? And I was like, what, well,
I mean I can't. People always want me to do
a shout off, a shout out.

Speaker 14 (01:42:42):
Well, whatever, I knew what to tell him.

Speaker 1 (01:42:45):
And the other thing is people are saying Gary is
trying to change his voice. We need Rick to talk
because it sounds more like Gary. Now you try to
drop it. He's trying to drop it. He's lost this
a little bit up here. Yeah, he's trying to come
down here. It's like our liner radio guy.

Speaker 14 (01:43:04):
I don't know that. Just you know, look at her
texts coming in.

Speaker 1 (01:43:08):
Gary, You're gonna have to what we're doing.

Speaker 14 (01:43:10):
Well, we want to talk about. You know, Tammy Smith
down there at cal she works at this.

Speaker 10 (01:43:18):
CA.

Speaker 1 (01:43:19):
Okay, so what what what's she doing?

Speaker 14 (01:43:21):
She's she's retired next Tuesday, so you know tonight. But anyway,
I think that's about it now. But she's been there
for a long time and she's retiring, you know, just
let her shout off. So man, I'm gonna have to

(01:43:43):
tuck break and check his phone. Ladies at Chevron in
the deli, you can know about them, huh. I ain't
saying nothing about them. They get main a love them.

Speaker 1 (01:43:55):
Something I got on you last time we walked in there.
Let me tell you the last I told you other
one Greg's favorite story, Oh boy about we were at
one one of the little restaurants down there. They were
wanting to shout off, of course, and they were going,
they were going, Gary, next time you're on the show,
you're gonna talk about all the pretty waitresses down here
at the I forget which restaurant it was, and I'll sing,

(01:44:16):
Gary goes, well, you'll hired some new ones. And I
was like, start.

Speaker 14 (01:44:26):
Run, Well, I don't know you're going to Monroe.

Speaker 1 (01:44:32):

Speaker 14 (01:44:50):
I don't mind you asking now. If I'm drive, I'll
try to drive, but I'm not getting in the jet more.

Speaker 1 (01:44:56):

so soon. There's a lot going on so soon.

Speaker 14 (01:45:25):

They don't, they don't, they don't.

Speaker 14 (01:45:55):

Speaker 1 (01:46:15):
Okay, you'd rather drive it?

Speaker 14 (01:46:16):
Oh yeah?

Speaker 9 (01:46:17):
Yeah?

Speaker 14 (01:46:18):
So the next man church conferences in Panama City, So well,

owns a fishing boat down there at Panama City, guys,
and we might drive down there, and you know, if
we fish, you know, we might come over at night.
I don't when it's gonna happen, but you know, you
never tell me a date you're talking about.

Speaker 1 (01:46:38):
I never tell you. You've had these dates for for forever.

Speaker 14 (01:46:41):
Yeah, but I'm not going to hold of them.

Speaker 1 (01:46:42):
I'm telling you you stirred up all that in the
last one. You just leave. I'm gonna tell you what
I mean.

Speaker 14 (01:46:48):
It's it's all right to shake somebody's hand, but you know,
when the same fulla comes over and holds your neck
three or four times. I know you're talking about Uh,
you know that's a little too much.

Speaker 1 (01:46:59):
You'll give me one. I want at least say a
sp I'm out, man, See you turned around. He shows
up when he wants to show up, and he just
leaves me. Want to I'm in about his text the
picture he was that I ain't coming back tomorrow. That's
what it says.

Speaker 14 (01:47:12):
No, I ain't coming back. I see it.

Speaker 1 (01:47:14):
He's gone.

Speaker 14 (01:47:14):
I got home about one thirty.

Speaker 1 (01:47:16):
Would you get lost again?

Speaker 14 (01:47:18):
No, I ain't.

Speaker 1 (01:47:19):
I tend you want so, so you're you won't fly
to Panama City then if we need you to, if
you want to.

Speaker 14 (01:47:27):
Not unless I sprowned Wayne.

Speaker 1 (01:47:29):
That's something real right there, that's real.

Speaker 9 (01:47:33):
No.

Speaker 1 (01:47:34):
What Well, if you're gonna meet me in Monroe, you
got to get started.

Speaker 14 (01:47:37):
Yeah, No, I'm not. Well, I'm not going down there.

Speaker 2 (01:47:42):
Hey, Rick, here's your baggage, right so when they email
me for the meetings, I sent just.

Speaker 12 (01:47:47):
For it it.

Speaker 1 (01:47:47):
See. Now you're the producer. You're responsible for who we
bring you in and who you booked.

Speaker 5 (01:47:51):
This gift that.

Speaker 1 (01:47:54):
We're right back.

Speaker 5 (01:47:57):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. This is where logic
beats the left COBC Budget Show.

Speaker 1 (01:48:16):
Okay, so we're back. Thanks for being with us today.
Gary the bulldozer Man is with us. Vox seats are
about to fill up the next hour. Remember Tuesday was
the first group to come into the vox seats and
somebody walks away with a thousand dollars. So yeah, and

(01:48:39):
if you could Gary, when everybody comes in here next
and they're starting to form outside, be nice. I mean
Gary just has this when he's dealing with the public.
It's just such a and I know it makes Speedy
incredibly uncomfortable, but just be nice. I mean, you be pleasant.

Speaker 14 (01:48:57):
I'm changing my demeanor.

Speaker 1 (01:48:59):
Just be you changing your voice a little bit because
it's kind of becoming a kind of becoming kind of
becoming a start. I got a little step to him
and uh, women's pet. Yeah that's right. Uh did that? Yeah? Rick,
He says he's got more shout offs. You know, he said,
this is a shout off.

Speaker 14 (01:49:20):
That's when I'm will be up at nice.

Speaker 1 (01:49:22):
Well, I know that's what I'm saying. That's what got
we got that is that's a shameless plug shout off.
You know it, get it? Then gay lord, No, I mean,
do you I put it on w Turkey Federation?

Speaker 2 (01:49:34):
Is that?

Speaker 10 (01:49:35):
What is it?

Speaker 1 (01:49:35):
The So we'll talk to him coming up later. You
brought you brought Ben with you from from say and
you'll have done some turkey hunts and he may he
may be the answer by the way to this, going
a turkey win a turkey hunt with Gary. This may
be the answer or something over there. He probably completely
He probably don't want to be the answer. But so

(01:49:56):
you and and Ben, right, are you all going to
the well the big deal.

Speaker 14 (01:50:01):
And we're gonna talk about it. Yeah, we're gonna talk
about a little more. But you know, me and him
up there together on Valentine to Day, you just don't
play them right. But wow, you know, I don't know
why they do it on valent down What was they?
I just you know, that's weird.

Speaker 10 (01:50:21):
Man.

Speaker 14 (01:50:22):
Him up there in the motel room.

Speaker 1 (01:50:24):
Are you sharing a room?

Speaker 14 (01:50:25):
Yeah? I don't know.

Speaker 1 (01:50:27):
Wow, bless your heart. I hope it's a double banner.

Speaker 14 (01:50:30):
Well if it, if it ain't aflating the drug, he
ain't afraid. No, I am afraid?

Speaker 9 (01:50:36):
Are you?

Speaker 5 (01:50:38):
Love?

Speaker 1 (01:50:38):
So he is going to Nashville? Yeah, I just look
one three fort and Garrisons. You're going to Nashville to
be for that big Turkey Federation.

Speaker 14 (01:50:48):
Well, I'm not gonna be up there as a fool.

Speaker 1 (01:50:51):
Here we go again.

Speaker 5 (01:50:52):
It's just like the.

Speaker 14 (01:50:55):
I'll probably be up there about lunchtime Friday and stay
and then that's the tomorrow. I'll probably leave lunch next Friday.

Speaker 1 (01:51:03):
A week from today. So you're gonna be your twenty
four hours.

Speaker 14 (01:51:08):
You got your fourteen?

Speaker 1 (01:51:10):
Have you got enough enough calls?

Speaker 14 (01:51:12):
I don't know. Lyle called me yesterday said, man said
you might order make a few more, put some more together?

Speaker 4 (01:51:24):
Do you think?

Speaker 1 (01:51:25):
And I know I'm speaking on behind.

Speaker 14 (01:51:26):
We're fishing to talk a little more in detail, but you.

Speaker 1 (01:51:29):
Know everybody's trying to partner with you on this and
we'll talk about it later. But you you, you won't
seem to let go of the plan being you're gonna
meet demand by making them handmade in your wood shop.
I think that's always gonna be a bit of an
obstacle over.

Speaker 14 (01:51:46):
Well, I mean, there's just so many I'm gonna sell,
and I mean, you know, once Turkey Seasion starts, I
won't make any more during Turkey season because I'll turkey
hunt till about eight o'clock of the morning, and then
you know, if I feel like and I'll do it
in the evening.

Speaker 1 (01:52:00):
But it feels like it's like if you order a Lamborghini,
you gotta wait like a year they have to send
kind of like that.

Speaker 2 (01:52:07):
Well, what I do, what I like to do is
I like to hurt the turkey hunt in the afternoon,
like sitting and shooting.

Speaker 14 (01:52:11):
Well, you ain't a turkey on it.

Speaker 1 (01:52:15):
Don't get him going on that.

Speaker 14 (01:52:16):
Don't get going on that.

Speaker 1 (01:52:18):
And I just wait till they come out and just
shoot them out of the ground.

Speaker 14 (01:52:20):
I always did out all this evening and nothing anyway,
do you yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:52:26):
Just outlaw it? Yeah, okay, taking it person.

Speaker 14 (01:52:29):
I mean they're trying to bring turkeys back. I mean,
anybody sit up there and shoot one out of a
blind what do you call it? Deer hunting turkey, bushworking,
deer hunting turkey. Hey, get out there, and I don't know, well,
I probably make a lot of people mad, but you
know how much I's bothered you. I'm a stool and

(01:52:50):
I probably won't sleep a whole lot tonight on account
of it. But uh, probably over nine or ten hours now.

Speaker 1 (01:52:57):
He's telling me the other day I told her he
said somebody was upset with him. Yeah, and I said, Gary,
is that boss? He said that that does it bothers me.
I don't like people be upset with me. He said
this one. Right, here's bob me so bad. I didn't sleep.
I didn't sleep over nine hours.

Speaker 18 (01:53:10):
So that one.

Speaker 1 (01:53:13):
But so you know that right, people are asking how
the how the crappy fishing is doing it? Like Mitchell crappy,
I said, we call it, well, I call it crappy. Okay,
that's surprising, but go ahead. Yeah, well it.

Speaker 14 (01:53:26):
Ain't too good right now. I've talked to a lot
of people about you know, the crappie fish down there.
They just ain't doing nothing. Really, you guys said he
couldn't even find them much left catch him.

Speaker 1 (01:53:37):
Okay that is step one, step one. Yeah, that's important. Yea,
we call that important. How are you on the Trump winning?

Speaker 14 (01:53:45):
And oh I love it.

Speaker 1 (01:53:48):
There's a shocker, that's you know you didn't vote for Kamala.

Speaker 2 (01:53:53):
Gary, don't let him bait you. I've already gotten one email.

Speaker 14 (01:53:57):
Easy, I'm gonna tell you, Easy, I.

Speaker 1 (01:54:01):
Just heard it round.

Speaker 14 (01:54:02):
He just say, you're enjoying the Why would you ask
you hear a lot of stuff like that.

Speaker 1 (01:54:06):
Just just say you're enjoying this, and you're glad.

Speaker 14 (01:54:09):
I am enjoying it. You know, we're just going to
have to wait and see. But he's he's doing pretty
much what he said he's going to do and what
people people voted for him.

Speaker 1 (01:54:20):
And did you you voted for him?

Speaker 14 (01:54:22):
I sure we doing.

Speaker 1 (01:54:24):
If we did a political minute with Gary, I know
this is this is about Gary, this is video, this
is easy, this is Chris Wright, this is like one
of Trump's new person's secretary of energy. So I want
you to listen to his comment about man made climate change,
which I know you always believed in. So here here
we go.

Speaker 20 (01:54:44):
People who were driving policy, the media, politicians, they've never
bothered to learn anything about climate change, and they don't
seem to appreciate at all that the cost and affordability
of energy is simply intimate to human well being. It
always has everywhere in always, So these two ignorances about

(01:55:06):
the importance of energy and about real facts about climate
change are driving just a massively destructive movement, not just
destructive to.

Speaker 1 (01:55:15):
The economic well being of humans. But I speak in schools.

Speaker 20 (01:55:19):
It's turning people away from science, and I mean science,
this process of questioning and challenging, not the science, this
sort of top down, you know, mandates that justify what
people want to do anyway that has nothing to do
with climate change. And how has it gone so far?
So we're twenty years, two trillion dollars of subsidies. In

(01:55:43):
the year two thousand, the world got eighty six percent
of its total primary energy from fossil fuels. So last
year in twenty twenty, that eighty six percent plunged all
the way down to eighty four percent. So calling this
in energy transition, and everyone in my industry does that,

(01:56:03):
the investment banks, the companies, you're supposed to write an
ESG report apologizing that you're in our industry and how
you're going to get out someday and your energy transition strategy. Well,
the low hanging fruit is the start. That's the electricity
sector in rich countries. If twenty years and that much
money drove us from eighty six to eighty four, that's

(01:56:25):
that's not an energy transition at all.

Speaker 9 (01:56:28):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (01:56:29):
So yeah, it's finally this is someone who's now going
to be in charge that says this not the shoot
ready aim of man made climate change. And of course
even where we are, we're living. You know, look at
the new you know, the doge and all that. You
like all that, don't you get?

Speaker 14 (01:56:47):
Oh yeah, I think? Oh well, oh Leon Muss he's
doing good now who Leon Mus?

Speaker 1 (01:56:54):
Who cares? Eon Elon?

Speaker 14 (01:56:58):
He's still doing a good job, so darling.

Speaker 1 (01:57:02):
But but now we have someone that is going to
be in charge that says, you know, man made climate
change is not it's unproven. And you got to think
about all the rampifications can be wise about any transition.
What a concept.

Speaker 5 (01:57:16):
This is The Rick Burgers Show.

Speaker 1 (01:57:30):
You better listen up, you know, like we say, loss,
I'm in a nation. You gotta find.

Speaker 5 (01:57:44):
The voice of reason in an unreasonable world. The Rick
Burcher's Show.

Speaker 1 (01:57:51):
Yeah that's right. Here we go, Thank you for being
with us. Another hour and uh we got a light
to cover. Still to come on the program. Speedy here,
Greg is here, Adler's here. Hey Gary, the bulldozer man
is here. And now the hours starts in the box

(01:58:12):
seats have filled up with another group. So here they are,
all of them, some of them bringing goodies, others did not.
And there's no obligation to do that.

Speaker 17 (01:58:26):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:58:26):
So we're talking about deer beef sticks venison sticks from Illinois. Right,
We've got it. We've got a homemade Reese cup kind
of peanut buttered chocolate deal. We have delicious checks mix
homemade smoked smoked. Yes it is, and already divided it up.

(01:58:51):
I ate the fudge and then went to the salty. Yeah,
checked me.

Speaker 2 (01:58:55):
You could take that checks mixed hunting? Yes, I mean
you just carry it out there. Yes, I will say
this too. That's one of my favorite snacks of all time.

Speaker 1 (01:59:03):
It sounds like that we're only excited about the food
they brought, but I want you to know your your
physical presence means a lot to us as well.

Speaker 14 (01:59:11):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:59:11):
They get a little bonus with Gary today. Yeah, yeah,
because Gary like how you hunt?

Speaker 9 (01:59:17):
Gary?

Speaker 1 (01:59:17):
Do you like how he hunts?

Speaker 10 (01:59:18):
With all that?

Speaker 1 (01:59:19):
And everybody saw you lecturing me.

Speaker 14 (01:59:22):
Man, it's like taking a dad gum kindergarden out there hunting.

Speaker 1 (01:59:26):
He just ain't made for turkey.

Speaker 14 (01:59:27):
He just ain't made turkey on now, deer hunt you
in that box? But mm hmmm that turkey hunting?

Speaker 1 (01:59:34):
Did you paint his face up and everything? Yeah? Did you.

Speaker 9 (01:59:37):
I like that.

Speaker 1 (01:59:38):
I want you we killed a turkey. You Actually, we
didn't kill turkey.

Speaker 4 (01:59:41):
We did.

Speaker 1 (01:59:42):
That's a windy day too, wasn't it.

Speaker 14 (01:59:44):
Yeah, if it hadn't been windy, we wouldn't have he
could miss deal.

Speaker 1 (01:59:50):
That's real right there. And people keep asking to Gary
walked in, sitting down and start talking that I didn't
never finish the Clarence Carter thing. And unfortunately, if you
don't finish that, it leaves people to fill in for you.
They start yet. Know what I was saying is because yeah,
you know we have we have the Larry the patch man,

(02:00:11):
uh and you know, and he's he's off and running.
I'm really enjoying Larry, yes, absolutely, and others are as well.
And but you know Sprinkle as we talked about. But
but anyways, so we we played the song Patches, the
big hit from Clarence really has nothing from Clarence Carter,

(02:00:31):
you know, and then people's I'm even seeing people and
I had others saying that their entire day was filled
with them randomly going that man. And so I was
talking to my wife about the song. You know, there's
always those moments where we there's a six year difference

(02:00:52):
between us and every now and then it comes into
play and music is one of those places. And I said,
are you for me with this song at all? She
was like, no, I don't think so. So I played
her that and so while I was playing it, and
she was it's a pretty sad song. And it didn't
go well for Patches. But anyway, so uh, I mean,

(02:01:14):
he's got the way the world on him is twelve okay,
but but but anyway, all of a sudden, you know
when you when you pull something up to play it,
it'll tell you all the other people who've done this song, okay,
And I'm like, I didn't know anybody else did Patches
other than Clarence Carter. And we do know it was written.
We have some people FM Florence and here today. We

(02:01:35):
do know it was written by the guy who ran
the Muscle Shows recording studio there, Rick call I think yeah.
And so did you know that Jerry Reid did a
version of it? Did you know that I get to
hear and do it some reason. I think mac Davis
did one.

Speaker 2 (02:01:54):
Greg mac Davis did not, but I found this found Jerry. Yeah, listen,
you feel bad for screening his calls, well, hold on
to them.

Speaker 1 (02:02:03):
Okay, okay, so all right, let's see here. I loved
him in water Boy. Oh yeah, well see there's an
interest in course, my favorite movie at all the time,
Smoking the Bend. I knew that was coming by the
way that Junifer did you know? That was the only
thing I could find about Jerry Reid that Sherry knew.
I said, you uh huh, yeah. Oh, he was huge

(02:02:26):
when we were little kids, especially when you hot, You're
hot and all that. Yeah, she didn't know that. She
didn't know. Trouble over, I got it. Here, here we go,
all right. So I was born and reed's down and
all in the wood.

Speaker 5 (02:02:42):
I was a ragged folks used to call me, and patches.

Speaker 1 (02:02:45):
Papa used to about it. Of course, deep down inside
he was hurt because he done all. He's cool. My
father was a great on man. I could see him
with a shovel in his hands. I didn't know Jerry
read Clarence is better yes, and it's and you know,
so Clarence trying to sing east Man and down right

(02:03:08):
and and Greg and then terribly I found out that
Jerry Reid also did a version of stroking. No, that didn't.

Speaker 2 (02:03:18):
Right, but un And I tried to get Cherry involved
in Jerry reads.

Speaker 1 (02:03:25):
I tried to get to I tried to get her
involved in in Jerry Reid's library. It just didn't. She
didn't like when you're hot, you're hot. She and then
she got the mine. I got the shaft, she got
the old mine. I got to shaft.

Speaker 11 (02:03:39):
Good.

Speaker 1 (02:03:39):
Yeah. And and then then I went down the road
where I thought he did poke salad Daddy, but he
didn't any Yeah. I thought it seems like he would have.
I did Amos Moses. I was like Amos and so on.
So then I said this was This was her face
when I said, you realized I don't. You may not
know this. I said, I actually became pretty good friends

(02:04:00):
with Jerry Reid. And she goes what she goes? I said,
I said, no, we were like good friends. And I said,
how did you meet him? When we were doing a
lot of work in Nashville and came in high and
we connected this after water boy, yes, so far, after
a boy right before he's death. Actually, And I'm gonna
go ahead and say something, and Rick said, here he

(02:04:22):
goes on Jerry.

Speaker 2 (02:04:23):
I'm gonna no, I'm gonna say it. Of course, you
know how we do this thing. Any time we do something,
our wives do this a lot. This face I'm doing
for the audience. Yeah, we get that a lot from
our life.

Speaker 1 (02:04:33):
They're like and uh and then I said, uh, good man.
Really liked Jerry, I said, started coming in a little
hot and she goes what I said that There was
a time where I couldn't believe it, because I thought,
I cannot believe I'm getting to talk to Jerry Reid.
To the point I said, well, Jerry's calm again.

Speaker 8 (02:04:55):
And five days he was in smoking in the bandit right,
come on, hey, he's.

Speaker 1 (02:05:00):
In water Boy all that snow. He's a legend, outstanding
guitar player. Yeah, and I love Jerry Reid. It just
Jerry loved you, so he just would call.

Speaker 9 (02:05:09):
He did.

Speaker 1 (02:05:12):
It was like weary, it was. It was at one
point I think Jerry took me on as a son.
That's good And it was so on Jerry. I was like, hey, Jerry,
you're busy.

Speaker 14 (02:05:28):
You love your don't? What's up? You love your don't?

Speaker 1 (02:05:31):
Yeah? I like cly Clyde, but but it was it
was uncomfortable. You never think you'd never go to the
point where you think. Yeah, time again to talk about
the times I witnessed him going y'all stop, I'm serious,

(02:05:52):
but I want you to know there was times I
would like you would do with aging parents. At one time,
I would carve out time, uh and I I would
sit down in the little office that we had at
the house and I would and I would sit there
and talk to him for a long long time. We're good, Rick, right,
I mean, all right, goodness, sounds like you don't don't
forget the Gamor series, him and Burt round whatever. I

(02:06:15):
love Jerry Reid. I loved my time with Jerry Reid.
I'm just saying it was a weird position when you
kind of the first time that you send Jerry Reid divorcemail.
You just didn't expect you'd ever do that. That's true,
that's good.

Speaker 14 (02:06:25):
I know another fellers like it. I ain't gonna call
it on nothing.

Speaker 8 (02:06:32):
Don't do that, Gary, don't do that.

Speaker 1 (02:06:40):
Go ahead, Gary, Well I got to go. I forgot
you even here. Okay, all right, well go we'll be back.
So we got to resolve this turkey hunting contest. Yeah,
thing with Gary. So we'll try to resolve that. Stay
close we'll be right back.

Speaker 5 (02:06:57):
This is the rick Burgers show.

Speaker 1 (02:07:07):
Well, I'm being homie John a big John.

Speaker 5 (02:07:09):
Haddy had a big drap gig went back on Haddee
and I kept rolling them for seven and all their.

Speaker 8 (02:07:16):
Pot he look what they're good.

Speaker 1 (02:07:18):
I could do no wrong. I just come on rolling.
We're passed on more of the show, continuing you.

Speaker 18 (02:07:27):
When you're not.

Speaker 1 (02:07:34):
All right as we come back. One of the things
you need to be aware of because this face it,
not everybody out there has a Gary watching the property. Hey,
let me tell you. If I see something I don't like,
I'll handle it and uh. But if you don't have
that simply safe dot com slash big vox uh is
like having your own Gary. I mean you talk about

(02:07:56):
safe when you when you do liveguard protection from them.
This means that the AI power security cameras are now
paired with live monitoring agents to keep watch over your
place twenty four to seven. So they like, if they
see somebody on the property, hell, ho, hey, what you
doing here? And they interact with them. If they see,

(02:08:19):
you know, a flood, if they see a fire, if
carbon monoxide poisoning, god forbid, a medical emergency, they're seeing
it as it's happening, so they can get help quicker.
Right now, we give you fifty percent off a new
system with the professional monitoring, which you want that anyway,
but we're going to give you the first month of

(02:08:40):
the monitoring for free. After that's about a dollar a day,
but you get fifty percent off the system. You can
install it yourself. They'll help you if you need it.
Simplysafe dot com slash big vox gets you the fifty
percent off. There's also a link at Rick burgesshow dot com.
Now more than ever you want to feel secure, and
you should, but if you want to really feel secure

(02:09:02):
and have your property secure, then you need simplysafe dot
com slash big vox. All right, so we're taking on
another issue since Gary has dropped by today and he's
brought with him Ben Davis. Ben has been hunting with Gary.
I had the pleasure of hunting with Gary and Ben

(02:09:24):
last Turkey season.

Speaker 17 (02:09:26):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (02:09:26):
And of course he's with Sawbriar Outdoors on YouTube. Right.
And so you you met Gary and you've been working
with Gary. Do you do you find Gary Ben difficult
to deal with? You know that's a pretty loaded question. Yeah,

(02:09:47):
it is. Do do you find difficult to deal with?

Speaker 21 (02:09:49):
Not difficult to deal with, but you you gotta learn
Gary's ways, you know, and you've got to have your
head on a swivel. Yeah, because you never know what's
coming with Gary.

Speaker 1 (02:09:58):
Yeah. Is he did try to frank you several times?
Oh my gosh, yeah, all the time. Yeah. So he
So we have a problem that we're trying to resolve.
We think the audience would just love to be able
to go on a turkey hunt with Gary. You know,
his call is fantastic and all that, but we ran

(02:10:20):
into problems real quick. Gary would not take anybody to
any land that he hunts on. He said he wasn't
going to drive but a certain distance, And before we
knew it, it sounded like the contest was you had
the opportunity to take Gary turkey hunting. Yeah, and I
flipped it.

Speaker 14 (02:10:37):
So my main what's wrong with that?

Speaker 1 (02:10:39):
Well, it's not the same. And what I'm wondering, would
you consider maybe putting it all together with you know,
you're outdoors brand, and then we give it away and
then you make sure these people get to hunt with
with Gary somewhere. I think we could work something. I

(02:11:03):
think I think Ben maybe.

Speaker 14 (02:11:06):
You know, you know, being Ben is a he's a
stone go cold killer, now, I mean a stone cold killer.
So as far as I mean, yeah, he's he's good. Now,
even squirrel hunts with a slang shot. I've heard of that,

(02:11:27):
I mean, right, okay, so so he's pretty good.

Speaker 1 (02:11:32):
Would you be open to if Ben worked.

Speaker 14 (02:11:35):
With us as long as you don't cost me no money?

Speaker 1 (02:11:37):
Well, it's not cost you, Yeah, it's not cost you money. Yeah.
The but but Ben puts it together, we give it away.

Speaker 14 (02:11:46):
We'll try to do something.

Speaker 1 (02:11:47):
And then when you go, when you go, Gary gotts Gary's.

Speaker 14 (02:11:51):
I don't really care nothing about shooting one, but you
know I wouldn't mind going with somebody and calling one
up or whatever, see what we can do.

Speaker 1 (02:11:59):
So you're saying, if you hunt with Gary, because you've
done it often, you got to do things Gary's way right, absolutely,
and you have to be constantly concerned that he's got
some kind of prank on you constantly. Have you have
you pranked me in a few times?

Speaker 20 (02:12:14):
No?

Speaker 5 (02:12:14):
Not ready?

Speaker 1 (02:12:15):
Oh come on, Gary, Gary, what have you done? Well?

Speaker 14 (02:12:21):
There's been certain incidents, you know, I'd rather not talk
about Ben.

Speaker 21 (02:12:27):
I'd say probably the best was that time I came
down to the river and you had that limb with
all the leaves tied.

Speaker 1 (02:12:33):
To a string. Yeah, he pulled it up between my
legs when I was walking. He's always hiding, so he
was hiding.

Speaker 21 (02:12:43):
And then he pulled the string of fishing line with
a string tied to a limb off in the bushes,
and I thought something was coming up and getting me.

Speaker 14 (02:12:53):
But you know, I don't call that a prank.

Speaker 1 (02:12:56):
You know, what would you call that? I don't know,
but it sounds like a prank.

Speaker 14 (02:13:03):
But anyway, I mean, me and Ben has a good
time together when we hunting.

Speaker 17 (02:13:07):
You know, we.

Speaker 14 (02:13:09):
You know, we know how it's supposed to be done.
And you know, I hope you know I learned a
little bit from him, he learns a little bit from me.

Speaker 1 (02:13:16):
What have you learned from Gary? Be still?

Speaker 21 (02:13:19):
And if I tell you, I don't know how much
I can share because Gary's kind of giving me that
look right now.

Speaker 1 (02:13:24):
Don't pay attention to it. Trade secrets.

Speaker 21 (02:13:26):
But when they hear that clucker rick, you better get ready.

Speaker 1 (02:13:32):
Well that you know.

Speaker 14 (02:13:35):
That you can tell them about that time out and
walked up where you could just touch him.

Speaker 21 (02:13:41):
The costs so good.

Speaker 14 (02:13:42):
It calls him up too good, doesn't it.

Speaker 1 (02:13:43):
Don't you dial it back?

Speaker 14 (02:13:47):
Well, you know, if I'm by myself, you know, I
don't have to worry about it. But if somebody's with me,
you know, I don't want them to get flogged or nothing.

Speaker 1 (02:13:54):
You know, the day that I got to hunt with y'all,
at one time, I thought we were going to be
attacked by how many guys they just kept coming. I know,
it was like I was like thinking, I had one
gobbler coming up, and I saw, look, not which one
you want me to shoot? Well?

Speaker 14 (02:14:09):
You done run three or four off? How well moving?
It looked like he was watching their tenius match out there.

Speaker 1 (02:14:17):
I had to hear that.

Speaker 14 (02:14:19):
If a wind hadn't been blowing, we'd have.

Speaker 1 (02:14:21):
Been The wind saved him.

Speaker 14 (02:14:23):
I don't know it helped, but you know, and I
can't understand Ben. You know, we we do some videos
and stuff, and you know he's got two or three
videos he wanted to put on.

Speaker 1 (02:14:37):
You won't put it on there? Why not?

Speaker 21 (02:14:39):
Well, there's a couple of reasons. One, you know, the
censorship of Gary oh well, and then two it's you know,
there's some stuff that he really doesn't want me to
put out there on account of showing how good the
call works.

Speaker 1 (02:14:52):
You know, have a product. Yeah, you ever try to
push your product that you that people wanted to be
good and Gary pulls it back and says it's too good? Right, Well,
I didn't really think that was possible.

Speaker 14 (02:15:03):
No, Well, people really don't know. I mean, I ain't
down grading and nothing like that. I just, you know,
I just don't want everybody.

Speaker 1 (02:15:13):
To have one. Okay. That's the strangest sales pitch I've
ever heard say. I make calls. I don't want everyone
to have one.

Speaker 14 (02:15:21):
Since i've long you think I'm joking, but I'm chairs.

Speaker 1 (02:15:26):
I never said, you know, And somehow I believe that
he is serious.

Speaker 21 (02:15:30):
He's genuinely concerned about a lot of turkey potidays.

Speaker 1 (02:15:34):
All right, Well, if you want to see Ben and
you want to see Gary, and you can go see
them next weekend gay Lord Offerland Show Thursday through Saturday.

to seven hundred acres on Lake.

Speaker 1 (02:18:31):
Mitchell, Oh boy, boy, oh boy? What's that?

Speaker 6 (02:18:35):
I figured Gary? I figured Gary wouldn't mind driving down
to the south end of Lake Mitchell.

Speaker 14 (02:18:41):
Hey, who did you say?

Speaker 9 (02:18:43):
This was? Greg?

Speaker 14 (02:18:47):
Okay? Hey, yeah, I tried to call you last time
I was up here. You sent a text I know.

Speaker 6 (02:18:53):
And I deleted most of the stuff off my phone.
You know, I'm probably a pretty good turkey hunter because
I ain't real good with this electronic stuff.

Speaker 14 (02:19:02):
Well, okay, you're saying about that?

Speaker 1 (02:19:05):
So Greg, are you saying now I want to ask
you this, Gary, because I know there have been problems.
Are you saying if we're looking for someone to offer
the land you would be in? But what I what
I'm asking? Gary? Are you okay with this being land
near you?

Speaker 11 (02:19:22):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (02:19:23):
Sure, as long as it you know, we can work
something now okay, But I didn't know if you I
that was gonna be too close to where you turkey hunt?
Are you okay?

Speaker 14 (02:19:32):
Yeah? Just tell Greg. I don't know how you get
my number, you know, all right? Just Greg, just just
email me, just email email me or and get.

Speaker 1 (02:19:45):

email you, Rick.

Speaker 1 (02:20:05):
Yeah, just email say, I'm Greg. I do have some
land I'd be willing to discuss maybe having the winner
and Gary and being coming here. Okay, okay, all right,
thank you Greg.

Speaker 14 (02:20:17):
All right, we'll talk about it that one Gary.

Speaker 1 (02:20:21):
Gary again. I want to get back to the way
contest should work. You possibly are the worst marketing person
I've ever known. Yeah, you need to sound like you're
excited about this and you hope it all works out
and we'll all get together and you'll take somebody out.

Speaker 14 (02:20:34):
Oh I'm jumping up and down right now.

Speaker 1 (02:20:36):
I wanted you to calm down to John in Odinville, John.

Speaker 9 (02:20:41):
Go ahead, Hey, I just say, when y'all doing this
contest thing for Gary, Yeah, I just wanted one of
the starky colls and I need somebody take you out.

Speaker 1 (02:20:49):
Of you So you do have one of Gary the'l
spur master.

Speaker 9 (02:20:53):
Yeah. It took a little bit to get in, but
I finally got her and I've been working on her
a little bit. Got my clucks down.

Speaker 1 (02:20:59):
Okay, And you'd like for Geary to kind of show
enough show you how to do it.

Speaker 10 (02:21:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (02:21:04):
Yeah, I've watched a couple of videos. I can't really
understand them too well. But uh yeah, I've never been
so I'd love to figure it out.

Speaker 1 (02:21:11):
All right, So John, you want to give John your
email to since you gave just gave you the whole world.

Speaker 10 (02:21:15):
Uh, I actually got his phone number.

Speaker 1 (02:21:18):
He called me a couple of tom we'll get Yeah,
we'll try to work something out.

Speaker 14 (02:21:23):
I'll try to hip you, you know, I'll try to
hip hip you know where I can.

Speaker 1 (02:21:26):
Give me a streamline this thing. He said, you didn't
call you a couple of times before you even got it.

Speaker 14 (02:21:30):
Well, Speedy wrote his head is down wrong. So I
didn't call him. Make sure.

Speaker 1 (02:21:34):
Oh he's the one that one won that from you.

Speaker 14 (02:21:36):
I don't be holding your hands up.

Speaker 1 (02:21:37):
Yeah right, so Speedy wrote it down wrong.

Speaker 14 (02:21:43):
Yeah, after I called him, because you had you had
his address was in the owl. Go back in our
son and huss.

Speaker 1 (02:21:55):
Where you got the weapon? Oh Gary, this is big.
That looks like Miss k from Alabama's called miss I
hadn't talked to her, and go ahead, miss Kay.

Speaker 11 (02:22:06):
Well, good morning, Richard, and congratulations on your new show. Well,
I was really more interested, not in any kind of
turkey calls of nothing up the sword, But I was
wanting to know if Gary is married, because you know,
all the time states coming up, and I just was
wondering if he might be a.

Speaker 14 (02:22:28):
Well, I don't know, it's carding. You know what you
got to offer?

Speaker 1 (02:22:33):
He is married, Miss k Well, the sweet little glen.

Speaker 18 (02:22:37):
Yeah, well I may be old.

Speaker 11 (02:22:40):
I may be old, but I'm still a little fitful.

Speaker 14 (02:22:45):
Well it sounded like you a little high stepp or too.

Speaker 11 (02:22:48):
I'm quite a high step and I would.

Speaker 1 (02:22:54):
Well, all right here he's blushing over is Yeah, I
won't put that phone's okay? You make Gary blush today again?

Speaker 11 (02:23:02):
Well, I sometimes I tend to do that, make themself blush.
It just depends on what I'm putting a myth and drinking.

Speaker 1 (02:23:12):
Get easy. Okay, good to hear from you, miss Kay.
But he is married.

Speaker 2 (02:23:16):
I'm reporting the blessing heartbreaking.

Speaker 1 (02:23:20):
Yeah, it's he's a heartbreaker. Yeah, like when Elvis married Priscilla,
women falling out everywhere. So uh, we we now have
people going now, gregsonce you won't take your Christmas tred?
Is that you making noises? I didn't Well, you doing
why he's been putting on that phone everything.

Speaker 14 (02:23:41):
I want to stay ahead of all these messages.

Speaker 1 (02:23:43):
And oh you sound like you're on top of everything.
What so do you think you need to Are you
gonna be able to handle this new found fame?

Speaker 14 (02:23:53):
Ain't gonna be no worse than what it is now?

Speaker 1 (02:23:55):
Yeah? Well I know, I know you said that you
you don't even have to be on I mean you
don't even want.

Speaker 14 (02:23:59):
To Yeah, no, I ain't got to be.

Speaker 1 (02:24:03):
Don't even want nothing to do. But people keep asking, well.

Speaker 14 (02:24:06):
That's pretty nice that, you know, you started to ask
me when I'm gonna come back to the show instead
of me having a bag to come up here. It's
a good change, Yeah, a little change.

Speaker 1 (02:24:15):
People are asking what what's the tattoo on your arm?

Speaker 14 (02:24:19):
I can't discuss that.

Speaker 1 (02:24:21):
That's what?

Speaker 9 (02:24:21):
What is that?

Speaker 1 (02:24:22):
It's dog's playing poker? Anchor? An anchor in the navy? No,
why why have you got an income?

Speaker 14 (02:24:32):
That's a long story.

Speaker 1 (02:24:33):
But why do you have an anchor tattooed on your arm?
But you weren't in the navy.

Speaker 14 (02:24:36):
Yeah, there's anything wrong with that?

Speaker 1 (02:24:39):
Well, I mean why an anchor? And anchor just seems
a little round I figured you put a turkey on
there or something, you know, or a large mouth.

Speaker 14 (02:24:46):
I'm thinking about putting a turkey on something. But it
ain't gonna be my arm.

Speaker 1 (02:24:49):
Oh, I got you all right, you know, on my back? Okay, right,
you know, just a bit of a giant one load
up and in full strut.

Speaker 14 (02:25:03):
Hey, here's here's a guy, Josh Ford from Mississippi's you
got some land that you know, if anybody wins Mississippi
would go wearing hunt.

Speaker 1 (02:25:10):
Okay, Ben, I'm sorry too far. I'm so sorry. Wyn't
you just slip Ben in as long as lane drive.
Let's let me in and us handle it. You just
go and call for somebody. When you get involved, it
just all gets real complicated.

Speaker 14 (02:25:23):
Just let us.

Speaker 1 (02:25:26):
Go to Josh. Josh, welcome to the show.

Speaker 9 (02:25:29):
Go ahead, Good morning, guys.

Speaker 1 (02:25:31):
I love you for thank you.

Speaker 9 (02:25:34):
I would love to hear Gary Reeed's current events of
the day.

Speaker 1 (02:25:39):
You mean like the news or something like the current
stuff that's going on. Are you talking about, like what's
going on in the community, the kind of thing.

Speaker 10 (02:25:46):
Well, give it just worldwide, nationwide, but don't tell me
what you're gonna do first, because I'd like to hear
a genuine reaction.

Speaker 6 (02:25:53):
I think that would be fantasy.

Speaker 1 (02:25:54):
Thank you, So here it comes right now. I'm about
to hand him a news story, Josh, get ready? Are
you ready?

Speaker 5 (02:26:00):
All right?

Speaker 10 (02:26:00):
Hang on?

Speaker 1 (02:26:00):
Here we go, go go with it.

Speaker 14 (02:26:02):
Read that to put my glasses on the right.

Speaker 2 (02:26:05):
What if I was said, now, a few things you're
going on in the world once you have the big
headlines of the day, Gary, what story you're working.

Speaker 1 (02:26:10):
On over there?

Speaker 14 (02:26:12):
Ah, I says, uh. Over a dozen venza wailns criminal
illegal migrants sent to Guatemala guatemanas guan a ton of oldbay.
I hope I ain't got them folks down there working
on my house and sent them off. I'm gonna tell

(02:26:37):
you them. Joker's fast.

Speaker 8 (02:26:38):
Now.

Speaker 14 (02:26:38):
I went to the store up for gid Hamburger and
they've done had one wall, sheet rock and paint on it.

Speaker 1 (02:26:44):
You could believe it. Now, Yeah, that's good.

Speaker 14 (02:26:49):
Over a dozen Venezuelans criminal. I mean, I'll take a
little practice, but I think I could go.

Speaker 1 (02:26:58):
From the world of sports, there you go, Tom broke.

Speaker 14 (02:27:02):
Off who Lakers lebron and James passes Jordan as the
oldest to score forty.

Speaker 1 (02:27:11):
Okay, how about that are you like that? That wouldn't
a little.

Speaker 12 (02:27:15):
Better by Walter Cronkite, watch out back up, I'll better
David here.

Speaker 1 (02:27:22):
Very good to see you, buddy. Yeah, I enjoyed it,
no matter.

Speaker 14 (02:27:28):
I gotta get back to kild County next.

Speaker 1 (02:27:30):
Time, bringing the brother. You're like Anderson Capergary, You're like
Anderson Cooper. That's good, but it's more ways than that.

Speaker 4 (02:27:37):
Gary.

Speaker 1 (02:27:38):
Next weekend in Nashville at the Gaylord Afrey Lamb.

Speaker 5 (02:27:42):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, broadcasting from the real world,
the Wick Burgers Show.

Speaker 1 (02:28:00):
Here we go. Yeah, looking at the feedback on the
text line, you know, and all this is trying. We're
trying stuff. Some of it work, some of it doesn't.
Somebody says, Gary as the news man, that's a winner,
you know, Gary, Gary, no doubt there. So with one
ton of moment, he did struggle with him, and it's

(02:28:23):
so let's just keep an eye for that. Somebody said,
when I ordered my call, Gary called me and said, hey, look, seriously,
if you don't bite it, if you don't want it,
he's got he's got the most bizarre This is from
the people saying their actual interactions with him. We got
to work on his marketing a little bit. It's the

(02:28:43):
worst market I don't want to say a lot of it.
He's a little bit like that guy Coleman Liquid ask Hey,
if you want something, Hey, if you want Kyle, fine,
somebody I don't got to get it. Somebody said they're
disappointed that Gary didn't sing. Don't stop believing before he left.
So he's not he We're never going to get him
to sing. It'll have to be me as Gary singing.

(02:29:04):
Here's what I'm thinking.

Speaker 2 (02:29:05):
If you could pick they pick about maybe five songs
that you think would be good and lay lay them
down you singing, That's all I need. I need that,
And then I need either deep thoughts with Gary or
inspirational inspirational quotes or whatever, because because if you order
Gary's greatest hits, a bonus is You're gonna get inspirational

(02:29:29):
thoughts from Gary as a bonus, you know. And if
but you got to order, now you know what I mean?

Speaker 1 (02:29:34):
Right? You got all I need from you. You got
to find the right song to like. I don't know,
but she gets a small town girl, yeah, living in
the lonely world.

Speaker 4 (02:29:46):
He took them in the train to Lake me.

Speaker 2 (02:29:50):
You know works, so that one more and that's it,
and so you can pick them.

Speaker 1 (02:29:57):
I don't mind.

Speaker 8 (02:29:58):
Yeah, you could do backdoor saying by class oh or.

Speaker 4 (02:30:00):
Not that I know what's lady. I know you will when.

Speaker 1 (02:30:08):
I know you got plans Valentine. Hey, they might not
include me.

Speaker 2 (02:30:13):
Love songs from getting for your Valentine.

Speaker 1 (02:30:16):
That's a good one. Yeah, that's good. All right. You
asked me if I love you, and I took home
my rep. I thought about it for a minute, and
I think I gotta be careful. If I want, I
may not be able to have anything, have nothing. I'd
rather hurt you.

Speaker 4 (02:30:33):
Honestly. They must leave you, will.

Speaker 1 (02:30:38):
I want to hold you win to Okay, I could
just grab that right now. You know he's a cupid
special Yeah, what do you think? What are some good
we need? We need everybody help us love song that
Gary needs to We're not going to sing the whole
song open arms okay, okay.

Speaker 2 (02:30:57):
And we'll just throw it in the commercial breaks.

Speaker 1 (02:30:59):
Just let you and I come to you when with
open arms reaching marms out white women's sleeveless song. Yeah, okay,
We'll find yourself twice once, hey, twice three times a
lady is when and I love yes, you want when,

(02:31:25):
I mean twice you three times a lady, I mean
you're you're really something when.

Speaker 2 (02:31:30):
Yeah, Barry Manalow, that would be a going to somebody,
somebody anything from anything anything by Barry Manilowe's very white
to very Yeah, yeah, all right, oh yeah, Marvin Gaye's
not singing Marvin Marvin something.

Speaker 1 (02:31:56):
And when I get that feeling, I get on like
Mitchell and reeling.

Speaker 9 (02:32:09):
Off.

Speaker 1 (02:32:11):
He's like, gosh, albody, yeah I know yeah, And then
inspirational thoughts we can certainly. Yeah, it's something like that. Yeah,
if you love someone, shut them free. If they come
back to you, they're yours. If not, they never was.

Speaker 2 (02:32:28):
We could just use all this.

Speaker 1 (02:32:32):
Endless love you will always.

Speaker 10 (02:32:38):
He is.

Speaker 11 (02:32:40):
The world.

Speaker 1 (02:32:43):
Ersty slick. When I when I Gary loves some wen,
what is it? Is it New Orleans? You never let
her down? Exile Yeah, yeah, oh yeah. When I get home,
when I'm gonna shut you fire all day, all day

(02:33:03):
over working at rich place, I've been thinking about you
because she using my one desire.

Speaker 4 (02:33:11):
I want to kiss you all over boy after I
had sided.

Speaker 1 (02:33:18):
So yeah, we got got potential. We got plenty to work. Yeah, okay, no,
I'm not singing that one. So when they got singing
Beast or Burden, that's not a love song. No, So
so anyway, I just you know, there's some you get.
Gary is like the Gary is like, you have to

(02:33:39):
be careful. It's not wrestling an alligator. I mean you
got to keep the up her. Yeah you do, you know,
and so we'll tape his mouth shut, pulling back by
his chin. Right. I don't know that Gary can take
on Peter Peter Satra. Yeah, yeah, of course, somebody's putting
Pantera and there were that would be good. Yeah, we're not.

(02:34:03):
I have the group right what New Orleans? What do
they say?

Speaker 9 (02:34:06):
You know?

Speaker 1 (02:34:06):
New Orleans Ladies? No Orleans, New Orleans, Orleans? You know,
is it? I don't know that.

Speaker 8 (02:34:15):
I want to be here that I've never heard of
Orleans the pop band.

Speaker 1 (02:34:21):
Oh yeah you heard. Well you're still the one, still
the one people saying we're ignoring country. I'm sure there
could be some Oh well yeah, Bill so right, I
need to learn that one too. I bet he could
do that Little Alabama. I don't know those songs as well,

(02:34:44):
but we can put together to work. It's perfect.

Speaker 8 (02:34:46):
Next week for I have heard this still the one
song by of course?

Speaker 1 (02:34:50):
Okay, all right, would you dance with me? I want
to be your partner when.

Speaker 6 (02:34:57):
Uh, but the.

Speaker 4 (02:35:00):
And you're always on my man, he always.

Speaker 1 (02:35:08):
That's one we can work on.

Speaker 14 (02:35:10):
Mm hmm.

Speaker 1 (02:35:10):
Yeah, that's a good one. Now we'll pick some good
ones in the next week that that'll be a tribute
to love songs. Have Gary singam all? There you go?

Speaker 12 (02:35:18):
So he could do dance too much booty in the pants, No, yeah, okay,
and have a little dance.

Speaker 2 (02:35:23):
Yeah yeah, let me get We could find somebody and
they could could be Gwen. You know, y'all could do
something like you know, Kenny Rodgers and Dolly Parton.

Speaker 1 (02:35:32):
No, it's it's can you imagine I'm not gonna sing
those kind of songs with somebody's not they're Gwen. I'm sorry, right, yeah,
I can do that. It's out of the hours.

Speaker 5 (02:35:47):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, Big Fox Entertainment, Sam's
Rick Burgess Show with Speedy, Greg, budgets he E, Van

(02:36:07):
Adlve and Rick Butcher.

Speaker 1 (02:36:13):
Well, it's good to be here, and here we go
as a brand new hour begins.

Speaker 10 (02:36:20):
To you.

Speaker 1 (02:36:23):
It is a brand new hour we'll maybe get a
chance to chat with you again before the hour's done.
That number is eight eight eight, the number six Big Box.
You can text the same number as well. Thank you
for the pictures for the love songs from Gary album.
Very good stuff the gangs here. As you heard, the

(02:36:46):
great Ken Osborne told you that as we start this hour,
Happy birthday to my middle son, one of the middle ones,
Brooks Brooks, Big Love Burgess, twenty six today, twenty so anyway,
we what a blessing to our family and to so

(02:37:07):
many twenty six years ago today, and love his He's
always had a heart for the least of these, the
friend to the friendless, and just the kindness that I
have great respect for and just so proud of what
you're doing answering God's calling your life in twenty six
years living in Atlanta and basically broke my heart when

(02:37:30):
you said, basically you're doing things with your friends this weekend. Yeah,
but anyway, not just kidding, So we'll get together going
over there next weekend, so i'd be great, great, all right,
So I hope you have a great day. We've got
things to do here today, men, and it involves the
Vox seats here they are, and they come from all over.
We're going to randomly draw two names they will compete

(02:37:53):
in in Burgess Ball yep. So the competition will be
whoever's scores the most baskets in thirty seconds. It is
the Burgess Ball Battle, that's right. The winner yep will
get a chance to spin the wheel.

Speaker 9 (02:38:08):
I know.

Speaker 1 (02:38:10):
The odds may not be in your favor, but that
will is that will, and it could spin you. A
bundle means you win something prize of some sort, either
out of the Rick Burgess Show store Blazed TV is
also there. In talks with Moultrie, think he will be
returning to the wheel. But you could also spend a bit.

(02:38:32):
That means that whatever it lands on, the guys here
on the team, we have to do whatever it lands on.
Or you could spend bucks like Isabella on Tuesday who
spun one thousand dollars. Yeah. Wow, that's pretty cool. So
you can feel attention, can't you. I know I've heard
a couple of whispering going on. Lands on you? All right,
so let's draw the two that will go for the

(02:38:56):
Burgess Ball Battle, and do we have the wireless mic
over there? Okay? All right, we got that. Greg's pulling
one out the claw reaches. You have to you have
the numbers there? Oh? Greg? You just what are you doing?

Speaker 9 (02:39:07):
Greg?

Speaker 1 (02:39:07):
Yeah? Okay, so have you got two? Are you doing
it again?

Speaker 2 (02:39:12):
He grabbed two and so all right, so I've got
I got four and then the second one he grabbed
was three.

Speaker 1 (02:39:19):
Okay, So that means Jacob Allen will take on Lee killing. Okay, okay,
so Jacob Allen will take on Lee killing. All right?
All right, here they are all there, they are there
they yeah, yeah, I got too long to men going
at it? All right? So does everybody understand what? Does

(02:39:40):
everybody understand what's happening here? Of course it's not on. Yeah,
but I mean we don't have the things not on.
I just want to make sure it was on. We'll
do it again because honestly I heard it.

Speaker 8 (02:39:52):
Yeah, we can hear that.

Speaker 1 (02:39:53):
I guess that's coming through the mind. I mean I
can hear it pretty much without it. Uh but anyway,
so uh, we we we have two men they will
take the basket that. Yeah, I can hear that speedy
it is, yeah, no doubt.

Speaker 10 (02:40:05):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (02:40:05):
And you guys, whoever scores the most points now remember
just so, because this happened with Isabella on Tuesday, you know,
the one who won a thousand dollars. She noted she
thought she was behind. But the last ten seconds it
counts three pointers. Yes, so so that that can be
the equalizer. So keep shooting, don't give up, uh so,
uh so whatever, you guys are ready, Okay.

Speaker 9 (02:40:28):
There we go.

Speaker 1 (02:40:28):
All right, so m hmm are you ready? All right,
so whenever you guys are ready, begins shooting and we
will see who wins. Okay, that's on speedy, by the way, adaert,
you're all right, yep, this and this and tune in
all on the same day. All right, here we go,
all I just wait for it. Okay, here we go. Yes,

(02:40:53):
that's right, okay, we're ready. Now that they're shooting, all right,
coming a little hot over here, and they are nick
and that neck quarter four. Here you goes eight to six,
ten to six, ten to eight, all right, here we go, ten,
ten to ten, twelve, ten, twelve to ten. They got

(02:41:14):
fifteen seconds left, twelve twelve, it's going to now it's
going they're three pointers. Now there are three pointers now,
my god, oh my god. Oh so twenty eight twenty eight.
It's a window. What was that twenty eight twenty five?

(02:41:38):
Is that something like that? Twenty twenty two, twenty eight
twenty two. So Jacob Allen has one. Jacob also brought
us the smoked checks mix, not that that was any advantage.
So so Jacob will now spin the will of bundles,
bits and bucks. He must say it's will to me

(02:42:01):
and then spin it. Okay, it's will to me. You
look focused, okay, let me take you up. He brought
his smoke check mixed. Yeah, and then he was like,
by god, when I get there, if I get that will,
I'm getting some money. Look at his point at it
right now. He is focused, focused, all right, all right here,
when when you're ready to say it's will to me

(02:42:21):
and then spend it, will are here you and there
it goes. All right, there's the speed. He was a
smooth put English on it, he did. He put a
little English on it, like he's talking, let's see what
we're gonna spend here, here, here we go, come on,
come on, Jacob, Jacob, Jacob, Jacob Jacob. Okay, all right,
so it's Blaze TV. It's not bad, it's well. You

(02:42:42):
almost had to buy speedy lunch you were one. Uh so, yeah,
so Blaze TV subscription for you. Yeah, if you're not
already a subscriber, let me tell you outstanding work over
there on the Burgess Ball Battle. And so now you've
got a subscription to Blaze TV. There we go. Yeah, yeah,
that's good. Good focus right there. Did you'll enjoy that?

Speaker 20 (02:43:05):
Was that?

Speaker 9 (02:43:05):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (02:43:06):
Okay, that's right, a little sweaty now for the rest
of the show. It was fun for us. Yeah, let
me tell you these people, when it starts, it's it's
always to the.

Speaker 2 (02:43:14):
Wire and you never know how you're gonna feel until
it starts. You think, and you kind of get in,
you get excited. Yeah, like Adler when he was showing
out that one day.

Speaker 1 (02:43:22):
I noticed I noticed that we did have a lady
right over here, and she was shaking her head. No,
if you if we had drawn your name, did you
want to play.

Speaker 18 (02:43:32):
Obvious?

Speaker 1 (02:43:36):
You know a lot of times people want to be picked.
She was like, yeah, no, don't pick me, don't pick me.
And I saw some of you warming up when you
came in. I saw you, well, just in case, you
got to be ready, You never know, you got to
be ready. So so congratulations to Jacob and we'll we'll
continue with the show today and you guys sit back

(02:43:57):
and relax and enjoyed the ride. We got updates, so
we'll run those down. I just realized that since Gary
was with us last hour, he may have taken our
stories with us.

Speaker 10 (02:44:06):
But now.

Speaker 1 (02:44:08):
I was gonna learn how savings Wally. So we'll be
back more of the Rick Burgess Show. Come in your
way right up to this.

Speaker 5 (02:44:19):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, Big block set her faith.

(02:44:41):
Welcome Jew to the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (02:44:46):
That's right, moving through another one. Thank you for being
with us today. So I don't know if you're tracking
how you sleep like so many people do, tracking like
you know, am I sleep well? Am I getting in
my hours? Are you frustrated? You ever look and go
I don't. I just don't think I'm sleeping like I

(02:45:07):
need to be sleeping. And sure enough you you might
have an issue with the mattress. Have you ever thought
about that you might be sleeping better if you had
a mattress that was customized for you. Makes a lot
of sense, doesn't it. So helisleep dot Com slash big Vox.
I know Greg, you and Leeley, you all sleep on

(02:45:28):
this every night. Now you're sleeping in the glow of
your Christmas tree. Apparently that's absolutely but just says to
it and that survey I took. Yeah, if you I
like to sleep, if you took the survey, then it
can't be too big a deal. That's oh yeah, hassle free.
I wouldn't give it much.

Speaker 10 (02:45:42):
No.

Speaker 1 (02:45:42):
All they didn't want to know is how you sleep,
like on your back, your side, your too many stomach,
you know, you do a combination of that. Do you
like a more firm mattress, something soft, something in between.
They want to know all this, and they got big
and tall too. So look, if you're a big fellow,
big lady, they let them know that too. Is this
for a child? They have a children's mattress design for

(02:46:03):
the ever changing you know, bone structure of a child
that's growing. So it's they're made right here in the
United States of America, and they ship them right to you.
No shipping is charged. You have one hundred nights to
sleep on it, and then you decide whether you really
do love it, and you will because it was customized
for you. But if you don't, you get a full refund.
Helicksleep dot com slash big box to say twenty percent. Also,

(02:46:27):
you can find the link at Rick Burgessshow dot com
right there under the sponsor. So that's another way to
get it done. Sleep on a mattress that was designed
just for you, bought to you. One thing I am noticing,
you know, because we're doing you know, the guys have always,
you know, been together, even the thirty one years of
Rick and Bubba doing the Kickoff Hour. So one of

(02:46:48):
the things we wanted to do for the East Coast
and really for the you know, the podcast archives and
all of that, is that we felt like we need
to all be together the entire time. And so I
I'm now on their schedule. And I will tell you
that one thing that it has done is about eight

(02:47:08):
pm every night. I don't know who shoot me with
that dark yeah, but there there's I am. I am
put down like a wild animal on a documentary. And
it's funny because and y'all already told me about all
this is it's you know, your wives. They support us,
I mean, they love what we do. But there, I

(02:47:28):
mean I find myself like, let's say that there is
an instant like last night where she's like, hey, you know,
we don't have anything, why don't we watch a movie?
And I'll go, I'll look at the clock and that
movie's huh right, and she I said, I can't commit
to a movie right there, and I can't watch ball games. Yeah,
And then you're then You're like, She's like, well, I
mean really, because you know, a movie is usually around

(02:47:50):
two hours, so the cutoff is five thirty. I mean,
if I'm not into that movie about five thirty local time,
then there's no snooze. I'll never see the end of it.
And so now there's been this routine where we'll start
a movie and then later, like the next day, like
in a moment like I've got a movie.

Speaker 2 (02:48:11):
I don't know what happened. I won't find out to
until I get home today. Let us know what you're
watching so we can watch it first.

Speaker 1 (02:48:16):
I'm like, I'm like, okay, well, oh yeah, what happened
in that movie? I mean it was looking good and
she goes, oh, yeah, you you missed a keep heart.
I looked over there and she goes, you talk about
And then I find myself just that that part of
waking up and trying to get back to bed again.
Very frustrating.

Speaker 8 (02:48:34):
It's the worst.

Speaker 1 (02:48:35):
Yeah, immediately get there you suddenly you're wide away. Yeah right, yeah. Well,
and here's the thing here. You gotta watch out for
brushing your teeth, you got Yeah, that can wake you
up too much, you can. I never brush my good
reason and that that sweaters.

Speaker 2 (02:48:52):
Why every day for you, sir, it's a side hugs young.
So anyway, it's a different world.

Speaker 1 (02:48:58):
I've noticed that I'm a I'm an in bed by
eight eight pm person for sure. I don't want to
see anything after that. I'll jump in at seven thirty
of them. Now, will you look on this new thing?
When we being here with you guys. At the very beginning,
I found myself going over the speaking scheduling. I'm now canceling.
Is that a Thursday? I'm sorry, I'm out now I
will I will tell you to get ready when we

(02:49:19):
change the time back and the days are long, it's hard.
It's hard for me to go in and it's still daylight. Yeah,
that would be tough. It's very hard. I haven't got
there yet.

Speaker 9 (02:49:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:49:27):
Now it throws it's thrown us off.

Speaker 2 (02:49:29):
And Greg and I have talked about this because even
though we're doing the same schedule. You being in here
with us throws us off, right, so we think it's
actually an hour ahead.

Speaker 1 (02:49:37):
Of what it really is. You know, We'll look we'll
look up. We're like, wow, so that's all. That's the
only where we are. Yeah, two weeks. Yeah, it's just strange. Yeah, well,
well I know right now, Blaze Stevie would really like
for us to figure it out.

Speaker 2 (02:49:50):
But we're talking about that because we go to bed
kind of try to go to bed early, you know,
but if we're not in bed, if I'm not in
bed by nine, you know or nine thirty, you get
five and a half hours sleep or whatever. And you know,
you want a little bit more than that, so you
have to go to bed a little bit early, which
means you eat supper earlier dinner. And we talked about
being on Senior Citizens schedule. And I was talking to

(02:50:11):
Hobe about that yesterday and he started making fun that
we eat it like five, and I said four, yeah,
four thirty five.

Speaker 1 (02:50:18):
He goes, you eat it four thirty or five? Absolutely,
I never see five. Let me let me now, let
me tell you no seriously. It was like what no, seriously?
So I was talking about Wednesday. We confused the restaurants.
We confused them. We walked in it so early. They literally,
I'm not even at this is no embellishment. Are you

(02:50:40):
guys having a late lunch or an early dinner? They
were confused. I think this is the time they do it.
I think this is the time they all play games
on their phones. We walked in there, are y'all serious
about it? Eating no eights right now? And the restaurant
was empty. There was another person they're eating and I
was Sharon, and I looked at I said, what time
is it? She goes, Oh, my goodness, just like three ten.
I said, we're eating at three twos at three ten

(02:51:02):
and you'll be hungry. But we did well. And then
that that's the other thing is like talking to restaurants
like Sherry and I. Our anniversary is Monday, so I'm
talking to the restaurant guy. And you know, I always
love this because I know we're still going to get
to eat. Oh, I don't know, you know, with Valentine's
Day and all that, it's it's tough. Let me look,
so what time were you thinking? And he's ready to

(02:51:23):
disappoint me. I'm thinking five, you'll come at five, I'll
come at four thirty. Well we can make that happen,
you know, a party of two at four thirty. That's easy.

Speaker 14 (02:51:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:51:33):
But so it's a it's a different I didn't think
that getting up an hour earlier than before it would
matter that much on sleep. Now, as far as me
doing the show, I really have had no problem with that.
But it's the let me tell you, there's no more.
There's no more. I used to be a nine guy.
I'd play around with nine, nine thirty. I don't even
know what that little like on the clock now.

Speaker 2 (02:51:53):
Yeah, Well you were talking about next week with your
anniversary and Valentine's and you know Terry's share day is
next week. Oh yeah, And I pulled something off yesterday.
She has some AirPods you know, or wireless headphones whatever
you want to call. And she I've noticed that she
hadn't had them on, you know, she's been going wired

(02:52:13):
for about two weeks now. And she claimed when I
got home, you said, hey, I'm gonna go for a
quick walk, you know, And then she was tooling around
trying to find some headphones, and I'm like, uh, where
are your where are your your barless earbuds, and she said,
I don't know, there's somewhere. They're probably in some jeans
or in a purse or you know whatever. And I said, hey,

(02:52:35):
I thought they you might have lost those. Let me go,
I got something for you. And I had just gotten
me some air pods or for j because JC borrowed
mine because they were doing a road trip. And I
know I'll never see them again. And so I walked
in and I said, he go that these are for you,
And she looked at me because her birthday is coming

(02:52:55):
up and that's not the only thing to give for
a birthday.

Speaker 1 (02:52:57):
But she thought, how did you know that? It's like
on your loan.

Speaker 2 (02:53:03):
I know, I think I pulled it off, And so
she really thinks right now, yeah, well, she she's busy.
We got another road trip today, and so I know
there's no chance she's listening right now.

Speaker 1 (02:53:12):
Okay, But ill I pulled it off and she put.

Speaker 2 (02:53:14):
Them in her little ear she she went for a walk.
She I just can't believe you thought about that.

Speaker 1 (02:53:19):
You said, I can't either. Now you got I got
to get them. So Monday, we've hit one of those
weird ones, like and I can feel there's not a
lot of enthusiasm for it, because if you hit one
of those weird numbers, but you're real close to a
big number that it's almost like he gets nothing. But
this is our twenty ninth anniversary. That means said, we're
not thirty. Yeah, but we're not. We're not twenty five.

(02:53:40):
You know, it's like I'm sitting there twenty nine. Hey,
you know, it's almost like the people at the restaurant. Hey, you,
congratulations on your anniversary. How many years? Twenty nine? Oh okay,
all right, well let me see you next year. Wow,
this feels like I arrived at something awkwardly early. You know,
you mean like our reservation. Yeah, so yeah, so that's Hey,
what about when you're looking at your there's eyes because

(02:54:00):
they got a place you can in the weather. Weear
right now you can sit outside. We'll be sitting outside.
It'll still be daylight for dinner. Oh yeah, but it's uh,
but I like it.

Speaker 10 (02:54:12):
I like this.

Speaker 9 (02:54:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:54:13):
But you're right though. If something happens, like on the weekend,
you still on that schedule and you don't go to
bed early. Now you start, oh you're so hungry. Yeah,
you're like, did we e read dinner. Yeah, it was
somewhere right around lunch. It's like you were fasting for
you breakfast the next day? You so early, right, yeah,
bottom of the hour. We'll be right back.

Speaker 5 (02:54:36):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, the man who taught

(02:55:01):
the world to say left, Rick Ba.

Speaker 1 (02:55:07):
We're back. Thank you for being with us today. So
a couple of things off the text line. People were saying,
so how far all of you from the studio? And
what's the actual time that you rise to do the show?
So we are It varies wildly. So I'm about ten

(02:55:30):
minutes from the studio, and so we you know, we
don't just walk in and go on the air what
Adler does, but the rest of us do not. Yeah,
so speedy, Greg, they have to get here for some prep.
I usually try to get here about on the early days.
If I don't need Alextra, I'll get here about forty
five minutes for the show starts. So so for us,

(02:55:55):
we start the show live at five Central, six Eastern,
So that's me getting here usually anywhere from four to
ten on the early days till about four point thirty
on the late days. Greg, what time you get here
four and you have to drive an hour in twenty minutes. Yep,

(02:56:16):
hello get to twenty. Hello, hello to twenty. But you
got to connect us to the satellite and all that,
so you're here, yeah, and that way, something's wrong. You
got time?

Speaker 2 (02:56:27):
Yeah, speaky? How far are you from the studio? About
twenty five? And you get up at what time? I
used to get up at three twenty when we were
just doing the kickoff hour because you kind of could
do prep during that hour or two.

Speaker 1 (02:56:38):
Sure, but now it's three.

Speaker 2 (02:56:40):
You know, to get here by four to four ten now,
just because you get a lot of that out of
the way ata this time. You and me are on
a different time. We've never done the as early as
we're doing it now, you and I. But what time
are you having to get up for twenty You know
what I mean?

Speaker 1 (02:56:57):
Right? And just come on twenty How far are you
from the studio?

Speaker 8 (02:57:00):
That's nobody's business. Yeah, it's none of y'all's business.

Speaker 12 (02:57:04):
Nobody in my house cares, by the way, that I
have to wake up an hour earlier now, nobody cares,
no one.

Speaker 8 (02:57:10):
My wife doesn't care.

Speaker 12 (02:57:11):
She's playing wordle at eleven pm. We're crazy, like we're
crazy people. Ruby's starting to sleep walk now, by the way,
So that's waking me up, maybe only three or four
times at night, so it's not too bad. Yeah, And
it's funny because she she'll come in be grumpy and
upset with me, like, but.

Speaker 8 (02:57:31):
She's not awake.

Speaker 1 (02:57:32):
What's the noise?

Speaker 12 (02:57:33):
Yeah, like all grumpy and it's like, I love you daddy, okay.
Right within the same breath, I'm like, oh, you're not aware,
you're dreaming right now. Let's go back to bed, sweetheart, please,
oh wow, please, my goodness.

Speaker 1 (02:57:44):
But yeah, nobody cares. No bad day, Oh no, no, none.

Speaker 12 (02:57:48):
It's it's it's six o'clock. I get this horrible feeling
of like, we got to get these kids in bed, right,
we have to.

Speaker 8 (02:57:56):
Oh no, and it is for both kids. It's about
a twenty step process.

Speaker 1 (02:58:00):
Yep.

Speaker 8 (02:58:01):
We got to do like twenty things.

Speaker 1 (02:58:02):
Oh yeah.

Speaker 12 (02:58:03):
And next thing, I know, it's nine forty five and
I'm trying to get nine forty five. I'm never in
bed before nine thirty. I'm miserable, I'm sick, I'm dying.
It's fine, you're good, okay.

Speaker 1 (02:58:19):
Yeah, So I'm in the and then if.

Speaker 8 (02:58:22):
Four twenty, my alarm goes off it's Snoop Dogg's gin
and juice.

Speaker 10 (02:58:24):
You know.

Speaker 8 (02:58:25):
There you go, that's my alarm.

Speaker 1 (02:58:26):
My gosh, I need to get up at three, but
I usually get up at three fifteen. Yeah. Yeah, so
that that's but that's why because and then of course
you got all the people that love to yuck it
up on the text and the people who see our lives.
I think I could only need five hours for a
part time job. Yeah yeah, you know. Yeah, it's still

(02:58:48):
on an eight hour day.

Speaker 2 (02:58:50):
Yeah, oh yeah, easy. More than that's easy.

Speaker 8 (02:58:53):
And I think those early hours count double. I think
they should count up.

Speaker 2 (02:58:56):
I've always my opinion, we've always talked about that any
any time period you get that prior to six a m.

Speaker 1 (02:59:01):
Whatever that is, it should be double, right. And then
uh and then of course, for a lot of us,
the show is a blast, and the work begins when
the show's over, and uh so yeah, that's when you
got to deal with all the Yeah you got to
run a business. You good, you got you got a
lot going on, and it's good. I mean, I love it.
I love every day. I love what we do.

Speaker 2 (02:59:23):
And because of technology, a lot of times you can
keep working but not have to physically be here, but
you're still working.

Speaker 1 (02:59:28):
You know, must be good to get off with ten
every day. And I'm like, yeah, that's yeah, that shows over.
We run out the door. Yeah, well, bir just don't
work again. Told about it's five hour day, yeah, and
I'm just like yeah, yeah right, yeah, that's like when
I used to work for the power coming and we'll
be outside, we pull these chairs out, sit down to eat,

(02:59:51):
and people go, well, it must be nice to get paid.
I said, you don't have lunch where you work? Oh? Yeah,
we have a lunch break, just like everybody. Yeah. Sure,
I'm sorry. No, I don't great lounging in chairs, but
not a bucket truck. But we do get a lunch everybody.

Speaker 8 (03:00:07):
I'm so tired.

Speaker 12 (03:00:08):
I'm having to do this new method of making sure
I'm staying awake, Like especially in the post show, when
I'm sitting here.

Speaker 8 (03:00:14):
Clicking and editing, I'm actually like falling asleep.

Speaker 12 (03:00:17):
I'm holding water in my mouth to keep because then
I fall asleep and it starts so come out and
that wakes me up.

Speaker 8 (03:00:26):
I'm literally having.

Speaker 12 (03:00:27):
To do that.

Speaker 1 (03:00:29):
Away so tired. That's concerning. I know, it's alarming.

Speaker 12 (03:00:42):
Yeah, I'm cranking metal in my car at stoplights so
I don't fall.

Speaker 1 (03:00:45):
Asleep at the Oh my goodness, I think I need
to do a sleep.

Speaker 8 (03:00:49):
Study or something something bad.

Speaker 1 (03:00:51):
I'm drained picturing you in that van with metal at
the stop Well, you're in the the I remember when
the kids were all, you know, a home and they
were little and all this because you know, we've been
doing these hours for a very long time. And I
can remember the reading a story to your kids and

(03:01:12):
and and like hearing the kids saying dad, dad, and
I'm not looking at it, and like my face would
just fall into the book and I'd feel the book
closing around my face. What's wrong with that?

Speaker 10 (03:01:22):
You know?

Speaker 1 (03:01:22):
And I'm like, and.

Speaker 9 (03:01:25):
I was like, where are they?

Speaker 1 (03:01:26):
There's just these little there's angels talking to me. I
died and h And then I remember falling asleep during
the puppet show once I was doing puppets and and
I laid down to do the puppets like this is
pretty nice, and next saying that, look the puppets just
all fell down where they go, you know, And I
hear the kids out there going what happened to three
through the dog or whatever it was? And uh, and

(03:01:48):
I'm like, I'm I'm asleep inside the little puppet area.

Speaker 14 (03:01:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:01:52):
Look, I used to love carpool line. I'd say I
got him, buddy.

Speaker 1 (03:01:57):
I get I have slept so good in a carpool line,
you felt. And that's the one I realized that people
don't care about you. I was so asleep in the
car pool line and no one even remotely thought he
could be dead. They just started honking at me and
going around me. No one checked on me. I mean
I was in there completely out. No one thought could

(03:02:17):
have been a heart attack. Yeah, they just just started
going around me. And I woke up and there's just
a huge gap between me and the next person. People
are angry, people have gone around me. Not one person
checked on me out. It was concerning. And then back
when we had the van days like you have, Adler,
I had that sweet van. Yeah, I just I just
drive my office there and set up to start doing
business from there, go over and take go to bed.

(03:02:39):
I'd ride for carpool an hour before that over. Yes,
as quick as I wasn't. I wasn't doing carpool. I
was camping.

Speaker 8 (03:02:48):
Yes, you know it was.

Speaker 1 (03:02:50):
Those are some good sleeps.

Speaker 12 (03:02:51):
Too, Yeah, I was struggling so bad last night during
and I'm reading this kids in the Bible book and
the Good Samaritan was the story last night.

Speaker 8 (03:03:02):
And I'm like young and in the.

Speaker 12 (03:03:04):
Room, and these Bible studies are very hard to explain
to a child who is new to everything.

Speaker 8 (03:03:12):
She's like, why did they rob him? Why they beat
him up?

Speaker 1 (03:03:15):
Oh?

Speaker 14 (03:03:15):
Yes?

Speaker 8 (03:03:16):
And then I had to explain, like, you know, a
good smartan, he was Jewish and all that. People don't
like people, White people don't like people, you know, all
this stuff.

Speaker 12 (03:03:24):
I'm like, wow, this there's so much to explain in
this one little simple story of helping people. It's just
about helping people, Baby, just help people.

Speaker 1 (03:03:31):
No matter who they are. Why would I not help?
Everybody already knew that. Well this is different.

Speaker 4 (03:03:37):
Why you're y?

Speaker 1 (03:03:38):
Why do they beat up that girl?

Speaker 8 (03:03:39):
That's the good that's that's not a girl, that's a
Jewish man. It's a Jewish man. What Jewish men?

Speaker 12 (03:03:45):
Okay, well, honestly though the Jewish the Jewish man like
a girl. I don't know why the Jewish man has
lipstick on in this book?

Speaker 8 (03:03:53):
Are you confusing for a four year old girl?

Speaker 14 (03:03:55):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (03:03:56):
Okay, confused Jewish man in your good racism aside.

Speaker 8 (03:04:02):
It was a very confusing read last night.

Speaker 1 (03:04:07):
Why did he take his money?

Speaker 6 (03:04:09):
What are you doing to it?

Speaker 1 (03:04:15):
So I said, they tried to work there, the same story.
They had the same experience. A lot of questions with
that story.

Speaker 8 (03:04:20):
For children, every single one, every single story in the Bible.
Oh wow, you're like, oh, this is involved.

Speaker 1 (03:04:25):
With slaughter of all people because people. Yeah, let me back,
this is the.

Speaker 5 (03:04:33):

Speaker 1 (03:06:55):
So I didn't ask you that, looking after you all right,
twenty four years? Thank you. You also gave us something
to eat today, right did?

Speaker 9 (03:07:02):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (03:07:02):
All right, so tell us what you made for us
to leave?

Speaker 14 (03:07:05):
Peanut butter bars. So they're basically just homemade recy cups.

Speaker 1 (03:07:09):
Would you like me to tell you how much your
husband loves them?

Speaker 14 (03:07:12):
Well?

Speaker 1 (03:07:13):
Sure, I heard the conversation.

Speaker 4 (03:07:15):
There was a conversation.

Speaker 1 (03:07:16):
Oh yeah, he told Greg to try them and out
like he didn't like them, so he could take them home. Yeah,
he told me in front of you.

Speaker 14 (03:07:22):
I actually brought two containers of them, you're right.

Speaker 1 (03:07:25):
I was like, where's the second one?

Speaker 14 (03:07:27):

You also are bald? Yeah, you also have a bit
of a graying beard. That's right. And everybody keeps saying,

Sophomore Assissippi College and an eighth grader?

Speaker 1 (03:09:08):
Yeah? Tell me about Missipi College because I know we
talked about. So they've shut the football program down again.

Speaker 22 (03:09:12):
They did, and it was a shock. It was like
just like that, and so there was there was a
petition going around to try to get it back. But
I don't know the ins and outs of the decision,
but it was a pretty sad day or m Missipi College.

Speaker 1 (03:09:24):
Yeah, and you know, we with dad at Jacksonville State.

and of course in those days in the Gulf South Conference,
they were a force to be reckon with. And and
I had you know, I'm new to college. I've only
been with the program since the summer, so I haven't
been through a winter workout program. And I realized pretty

(03:09:55):
quick in that game that there was a different man
that played in the Gulf South conferen which versus Calhoun
County in high school. And I remember hitting one of
the running backs and it was like hitting a truck
and and my my shoulder just fell down like this,
and and I'm coming out of the game, and my
roommate is screaming, don't leave this game. Don't you leave

(03:10:16):
this game. You can't leave this game. And I'm over
and I'm getting worked on, and then all the trainers
leave me, and I'm like, where's everybody going? They're going
somebody else is down and it was my roommate.

Speaker 9 (03:10:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:10:27):
Now he was hurt and he he had got his
helmet knocked off so bad by their All American Center.
He paid nose guard. The center had knocked his helmet
off so bad it broke his mouthpiece off in his mouth.
And he was just sitting there and he was doing
his fingers in front of his eyes to see if
he was if he was paralyzed. Miss boys are tough,
tough man, so thank you for being here. We see
