a few handles on the texting, but I think we
were so off that today, so try it again. Eight
day dates.
Speaker 4 (01:00):
Uh six two four four eight six ' nine that's
six big box again.
Speaker 3 (01:06):
Uh. So there. And then our website's rick burgesshow dot com. Uh.
Speaker 4 (01:10):

Speaker 4 (01:22):
You can go to Facebook and just search that, or

down to the bottom of the homepage and you see
all the different options there, which now include, uh, the
Facebook page.
Speaker 3 (01:37):
So go check that out and and participate in that.
Speaker 4 (01:40):
Thanks to a lot of you that are already there,
so Speedy's here, Greg's here, Adler's here, uh, and we're
all ready to go forward. Now, some things we'll be
doing today that we know we're doing. You know, a
lot of stuff just kind of happens, but some of
the things that we know that we're doing, uh is
James Spen will stop by again.
Speaker 6 (01:57):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (01:58):
You know there's there's one weather.
Speaker 4 (02:00):
A lot of you have already been in it at
some of you are in it now. Some of you
are wondering how's it going to impact the weekend? I
know for Speedy and me it could impact things we're
supposed to be doing this weekend in different markets, and
how's it going to affect all of you out there?
So we'll get the final This is wintry weather, as
(02:23):
a SPAN has trained us on, this is the most
difficult to predict to as far as details. So today
we should have a pretty good look because now for
a lot of you, we're only twenty four hours away
or less of it impacting your life. So we'll have
that today. College football Playoff, we're down to the semifinals.
(02:44):
We've got a game tonight and tomorrow night coming up
on tomorrow's program.
Speaker 3 (02:48):
College Football's David Pollock. We'll check in of course.
Speaker 4 (02:52):
My new buddy to you know, when I text him,
I just text hey, homie, gee in any way we
can get you to weigh in, And he jacked about
the show and says he yes, he will be with
us via zoom tomorrow. Coming up on tomorrow as well,
Granger Smith visiting with us and we'll talk to him
(03:13):
about him being one of the speakers for the one
of the upcoming three Man Church conferences and also just
his life story, which is a fascinating story if you've
never heard it. So and we'll also find out what's
currently going on with Granger Smith. So that that's kind
of the things that we know are there. I think
today we were We meant to get to it yesterday,
(03:34):
but we had so much going on that we never
got to it. Which that's a good problem to have,
and that is, you know, we're continuing to take the
show and say, all right, what are some some new stuff,
some fresh stuff we want to try. I think I
think Speedy by Men by Me Lunch went really well.
Got great feedback on that. Uh, you know, the way
(03:54):
we're using the wheel now seems to have a tremendous
amount of hype, especially those that have two thousand so
so and that we're not overusing it, but but we're
trying not to under use it too. And when and
now when it spends, there's a lot of things in play,
including it could just land on something that we goof
off with. So people love the new basketball goals that
(04:15):
seems to be going well, the new look at the
studio going well, but we're going to continue to develop,
you know, potential new elements and segments, and and the
ones that that that seem to get a good review
they stay. The ones that don't seem to get any
legs under them, because sometimes you have an idea, you
picture it, and then when you try to implement it,
(04:36):
you go, oh, that's not very good. Uh So we
have another one we want to discuss today that that
came out of our business summit, not our Hunt, but
our business summit at camp House. And we'll throw it
around to yeah I like that, Yeah, so fine and speedy.
I tried to work with your mich a little bit, yes, stay,
because I know you were in family handles and see
if we could help it a little bit.
Speaker 3 (04:55):
Do you do you feel better? At it, I guess so, yes, yeah,
and Chris Gray they worked on mine. I don't have
the process we all have.
Speaker 7 (05:02):
But again, you got speedy sound a little distant in
my hands a headphones radio.
Speaker 3 (05:10):
Yeah, I forgot that. The people that can be mistaken.
Speaker 4 (05:17):
Well, thank you Greg for stating something we all had
already thought. But anyway, so, uh yeah your term of
hands up, uh so uh yeah. But I love the
new mics that you know, you have to get accustomed
to them. As a matter of fact, I'm learning all
these various things, like with social media. You know, for
(05:38):
the longest I didn't even participate in this Instagram story thing.
I've never fully understood the difference in posting a picture
and posting something on your story.
Speaker 8 (05:48):
Why I gotta post two?
Speaker 4 (05:49):
I mean, it's yeah, I've never fully understood that if
I could just post it where I have been posting,
don't you see it? Why is the story something more
special or less special? I don't even know where the
story ranks for I remember this is just but but
what happened here yesterday was sounding good. I think that's
because that you really need the person's voice in there.
(06:11):
That's gonn to use it.
Speaker 3 (06:12):
But anyway, the.
Speaker 8 (06:13):
See does that sound a little thin, little.
Speaker 3 (06:14):
Thin, little little weak, but anyway, like like kind of
I don't know if y'all had this happen. I don't
know how much your wives understand. It's funny.
Speaker 4 (06:25):
My wife has a lot of opinions about the social
media but doesn't really use it that much, you know,
but but she seems to be very very versed on it, Like,
have y'all had this literally happen? Oh no, no, no, just
put that on your story now. I was just gonna
put it on Instagram. No, that's not Instagram, that's story.
Why is this story?
Speaker 3 (06:43):
It's not post worth? Yeah? What is? What is the Instagram?
What level is that?
Speaker 4 (06:48):
So if I said, give me an example, baby, all right,
it's Thanksgiving, We're all standing in front of you know,
this wall over here, and we have a family picture.
Speaker 3 (06:56):
Go oh, that's Instagram.
Speaker 4 (06:58):
Okay, uh uh, we're playing the turkey and dressing bowl
outside action shot story and it's just still Instagram. Yeah right,
But the two things on Instagram most worthy or yeah,
of course I call one Instagram and one story even
though they're both on the Instagram, because you know, I'm sixty.
Speaker 8 (07:14):
Yeah, but speed makes a good point.
Speaker 9 (07:16):
Some people just do the stories, which I'm really more
stories that's really more just location checks, like this is
what's going on or whatever, And sometimes you can compile
a bunch of them into a story. But you have
your story feed and you have your your main you know,
post feed, and a lot of people just fly through
the stories.
Speaker 3 (07:36):
And that's why some people that's what I'm looking at
when I go, I'm not sure what you're looking at, buddy,
all right. And then some people just put like their
stories are there like a post in their story and
then you can click on it and actually go to
their feed if you need to. But it just depends.
Speaker 10 (07:51):
I know.
Speaker 3 (07:52):
No, here's help me with this right here, okay, all right.
Speaker 4 (07:54):
So for instance, then Sherry told me because one of
my gripes with the story option is it's gone, yeah in.
Speaker 3 (08:00):
Twenty four hours.
Speaker 4 (08:01):
Yeah, like a like a little sweet picture, a little
sweet Mary Hollis with the Rick Burgess Show to Boggin slash.
Speaker 3 (08:07):
Snugging slash Beanie on, and all of a sudden I
was like, well, look there, everybody's gone yea.
Speaker 4 (08:13):
And she said, well, just put your finger on. You
can hold it and show it to me, and I said,
well what now it's gone. And then she said, well
you could make it. What are they called? And I'm looking.
She showed me one that she made. I didn't when
we went to France. So it was a story. But
now she put it somewhere on my Instagram. For me,
that story is always there.
Speaker 3 (08:29):
You save it. What is that called?
Speaker 10 (08:30):
Sa?
Speaker 3 (08:31):
Yeah, yeah, you post or what she said? You can
make it?
Speaker 4 (08:36):
She said you can make it or something and I
can't remember what that was. So then this happened yesterday. Oh,
this is this is really gonna get you. So in
the in in Birmingham, Alabama where we're heard on one
O four seven w zz KUH, a magazine called Birmingham
Christian Family did a story that's about you know, the
Rick Burgess Show and Speedy and.
Speaker 3 (08:55):
Greg and Adler and interviewed and all this.
Speaker 4 (08:58):
Well then they came and they did something and they
did like a video or something. But this is then
I get this text from them. We will do a
real post from the interview on Instagram. Would you be
interested in doing a collaborative post so it will appear
on both of our profiles and reach both groups of followers,
or just tag you and I thought to myself, I
(09:18):
don't even know what any of that means.
Speaker 9 (09:19):
Yeah, so like the feed would show, you know, Rick
Burgess and Birmingham Christian Magazine like y'all, y'all, y'all are
there together.
Speaker 3 (09:27):
On that post. Yeah, do you know how to do that? Yeah?
Speaker 9 (09:31):
Yeah, sure, I just turned this over to you.
Speaker 3 (09:33):
You can't Okay, I don't know.
Speaker 8 (09:34):
It's also taxi. I just don't enjoy really doing any
you know what. Chill with you guys.
Speaker 3 (09:40):
You know what this is. You know what it is.
And Greg, I remember you talking about it.
Speaker 4 (09:45):
It's when those handheld cameras came into your life and
instead of joining your kids little enjoying your little kids,
your kids came enjoying vacation.
Speaker 3 (09:53):
You now become a videographer.
Speaker 4 (09:55):
Yeah, and you're missing the whole moment while you're trying
to capture the moment.
Speaker 3 (09:58):
Hold it forever. Yeah, you to go back and watch
it yourself because you weren't in it, because you were
the cameraman.
Speaker 2 (10:03):
This is the Rick Burgess show. Cool or text the
show at what eight eight eight six hig Fox?
Speaker 3 (10:27):
Yeah, there you go. They both work.
Speaker 4 (10:28):
We'll chat with you today and we see your texts
coming in.
Speaker 3 (10:33):
It's like it's working today. So that's good. So more
to uncover.
Speaker 4 (10:39):
I know, Adler, we saw on the text a bit
of a YouTube issue getting started. Apparently Adler said there
was a slight technical problem. It has been resolved, and
you're pretty rough on yourself there. I saw you come
in here and kind of get after yourself a little bit.
Speaker 8 (10:56):
I mean, honestly, I'll just call it out.
Speaker 7 (10:58):
I think I I think I thought I clicked it,
and I didn't click it, Okay. I mean, I did
a full two minute intro and everything. I'm like running that.
I'm running the intro. I'm doing camera angles.
Speaker 3 (11:09):
Like oh yeah, slow pans to the right to reveal
the guys.
Speaker 8 (11:14):
Yeah, that is good stuff. The people are gonna love
this from the jump, from.
Speaker 3 (11:20):
The get go. They're gonna be all, look at these shots.
Speaker 8 (11:23):
I mean, and I thought I clicked it, but I
don't think I did.
Speaker 3 (11:27):
Well, So we're back.
Speaker 8 (11:28):
The evidence shows that I didn't.
Speaker 4 (11:29):
So we're back. We're up and running. Don't forget too.
If you haven't seen Tales from Camp House, our new
reality series, episode one there now on our YouTube channel,
and episode two of Becoming you Know Not not too
far off.
Speaker 3 (11:44):
We'll let you know when that's out there.
Speaker 4 (11:45):
So, I know one of the things that you guys
have been talking about, and I saw it again today
on the arrival of the building. You know, this building
has been legend. There's all kinds of things here that
just that have happened, and we continue, it continues to
produce a tremendous amount of content living and operating a
(12:06):
business with other businesses inside a commercial building. So I was,
and I know you've already mentioned this, but I keep
waiting on something to be resolved, and it hasn't been resolved.
This has been a while back. I mean, we're we're
already to another potential storm now. So at one point
there was a storm that had straight line winds where
(12:30):
we all do the show from and and it knocked
some limbs out of trees right outside the entry door.
And unfortunately for all the boat the smokers in the building,
it took out their ashtray, you know, the thing outside
where people stand and smoke and they can put their
cigarettes in it. It's got a pole on it, a
little thing on top. Those still exist. Yeah, So yeah,
so the one this has been, this has been at
(12:52):
least ten days ago.
Speaker 3 (12:53):
It feels like maybe.
Speaker 9 (12:55):
Yeah, I was doing best of it right ten ten
twelve days ago. For some reason, I got it around Christmas,
well I don't know.
Speaker 4 (13:03):
And it knocked and knocked some limbs down, and it
knocked that thing over. The limbs in that thing are
still laying out there. Is there is there no one
that cleans this morning?
Speaker 3 (13:13):
Yeah, guys out there, work buddies, buddies out there.
Speaker 11 (13:16):
Now.
Speaker 3 (13:16):
He was there, he was here when I got But
do you realize how long ago that was? Yeah? I
mean every day's heard.
Speaker 4 (13:22):
Every day I get that I get here, and I've
been here now for the fourth day in a row
from vacation, and it was there when I was coming
up here, you know, cutting stuff over the break. I
mean there's lanth, but the thing that's laying over there,
that's the smoker thing.
Speaker 3 (13:37):
None of that. It's like it's it's no one has
set thought to themselves. Well I could just yeah, yeah,
is he getting it right now? Okay? Because are you
serious that laid out there are really really long there
for weeks? Yeah. A lot of cigarette butts, yeah, I
mean there are so much There are so many cigarette
butts out there.
Speaker 8 (13:56):
Is it right now? So weird he's getting it right now?
Speaker 3 (13:59):
That where maybe.
Speaker 8 (14:00):
He's just listening or is it a coincident?
Speaker 3 (14:04):
He works hard, Yes, so he's already working when I
get here. Yeah, and I get here early.
Speaker 4 (14:09):
So do you guys? Does it continue to shock you?
How many people still smoke?
Speaker 5 (14:13):
Ye?
Speaker 3 (14:14):
Yes, yes, it does. It bothers me.
Speaker 4 (14:16):
Well, I mean there's nothing we can do about it.
And like we've said before, I guess I understand addiction.
So people who are addicted to nicotine, you know, been
smoking a long time before we had all the information
we have about cigarettes now. I mean, you know, cigarettes
and smoking. I mean when when anytime anybody wants to
invest in your health, the first thing they ask you
(14:38):
is do you smoke? I mean, I mean it's it's
like question one. It's like when people want to establish
your risk of sickness and death and one of the
first questions, if not, the first question is do you smoke?
Speaker 3 (14:51):
I mean, It's like everything rides on that, hope or not.
Speaker 4 (14:55):
And I don't understand and I never will understand the
person who started smoking a couple of weeks ago, and yeah.
Speaker 3 (15:03):
What about the vapors? They think that's an alternative. That's
gotta be all kinds of chemicals. First of all, you
got to carry appliance around with you. I mean it's
not even cool like any hang out your mouth like cigarette.
Speaker 8 (15:14):
Right, cigarettes do look way cool.
Speaker 9 (15:17):
Yeah, the old school, the old school. You know, smokers
you almost give.
Speaker 3 (15:22):
A pass to.
Speaker 9 (15:23):
That's because yeah, but I started smoking here recently.
Speaker 3 (15:30):
I don't get that. I don't understand that it's smoking recently. Yeah, yeah,
you're quoting now somebody's saying that, Yeah, it's it's like
I mean, I mean, it's like a person who said,
like two weeks ago, so what's going on with your home?
Just added some asbestos, you know, I mean it's what
(15:51):
I mean, fresh as bestest thing is in. We we
we we We got the results on that. Don't them
that painted the staircase with lead paint? So what are
you doing now? In a few flakes a lead pain
just started? I mean you used to do this when
I was a kid. Yeah, the cigarette thing gets in.
I mean, all the research is in, and I don't
(16:14):
and I do think.
Speaker 4 (16:16):
Because you know, we always make fun of the inconsistencies
of Hollywood. You know, they'll demonize something then put it
in every movie. They're obsessed because what the kind of
like addler does for a living, what one of my
sons does for a living. There they they do love
to have on their their movies people smoking.
Speaker 3 (16:34):
They dig it. They love the way that smoke looks.
Speaker 8 (16:36):
It looks cool.
Speaker 4 (16:37):
Yeah, and I guess that I think that's actually causing
people to say, I know this is killing me, but
I'm in.
Speaker 3 (16:43):
I've covered this before. What about at the beginning when
it shows nudity, foul language, smoking, they listed like warning
you that smoking on this.
Speaker 4 (16:51):
Okay, so that's a let's add that to our list.
It's part of a warning that it is.
Speaker 3 (16:56):
We got a little nudity, we got some foul language,
and we got smoking. Right, we got we actually have
a nude person smoked. Wow, cussing. They actually they actually
were made.
Speaker 4 (17:06):
They were made to put on their on their package.
What you're doing right now is likely going to get Yeah. Yeah,
I mean it's uh, this this has set you back
so far health wise today, this one decision and and
it's I mean, it's just you know, and it's.
Speaker 3 (17:22):
Not it's not even enough for for debate anymore. No,
you remember they made fun of dad. You know, back
in their day, everybody smoked and nobody thought well, they
started putting the warning on the on the pack, and
he thought, well, I don't want this one. Give me
the one that don't have the warning. And they were
like no, they all have the war. He was like no, no, no,
I don't want these. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (17:40):
There was a big argument one time that he claimed
that that warning wasn't on all the packs, and they
ended up in a car like driving to a place
that sold cigarette because he was so certain that only
certain packs were warning you. Where did he think that
you wouldn't be warned on every pack?
Speaker 3 (17:56):
The smokers, but they used to advertise that it was
good for your throat, don't forget No.
Speaker 4 (18:00):
No, I actually remember Guting radio and he had pipes
just like this. He probably loved his microphone. He had pipes.
And he said that part of him having pipes was
he was continuing to smoke.
Speaker 3 (18:10):
He smoked here for the pipe. He's doing it for
the people. I'm trying to do it for the he's
smoking for a living. Uh yeah. So anyway, well we'll
be back. But so that is get cleaned up out there?
Oh yeah, yeah, because it was a uh well he's
been on vacation. He said, okay, we're good for him. Uh,
(18:31):
I know Speedy moved him, so I appreciate you moving.
I did move something bigger on it. So we'll be
back our numbers eight eight day sit. You're a hero,
Thank you, big box.
Speaker 2 (18:44):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. This is the Rick
(19:04):
Burchess Show.
Speaker 4 (19:06):
And uh, you know, come on, we're rowing through another
day together, having a blast, finding our footing, enjoying your feedback.
Speaker 3 (19:16):
Thank you so much.
Speaker 4 (19:17):
You know, one of the things that we were discussing is,
you know, you start thinking how long we the four
of us have been at this and you know, trying
a new endeavor. You know, is everybody gonna go with
us from you know, not just listeners and viewers, sponsors. Uh,
and boy are we excited about not only how many
(19:38):
are saying, look, we want to be part of what
you guys are doing. New ones are coming on, but
you got to have those foundational sponsors. And Relief Factor's
certainly been one of those. And and look, I love
the product. Take it all the time and take it
every day. It's it's all natural. And I will tell
you this when you're you know There's there's nothing quite like,
you know, the the quality of life being being sucked
(20:01):
out of your world. Nothing does that quite like a
nagging pain. Look, when you're in pain, it's hard. I
mean you talk about a joy stealer. But if the
pain that you're dealing with is tied to inflammation, uh,
there is an all natural option, and that's Relief Factor.
I love getting these emails and love talking to people
(20:21):
that this products. It's one of my favorite things about
doing what we do for a living is somebody say,
you know what, when I heard about that and I
used it, game changer and Relief Factor has been one
of those terrific products. You're gonna feel the difference that
it can make in your life.
Speaker 5 (20:36):
Now.
Speaker 4 (20:37):
The quick Start pack is nineteen ninety five. You can
get that by going to you know, reliefactor dot com obviously,
or by calling one eight hundred and then the number
four Relief Again. This is going to get to the
foundation of the problem if it's tied to inflammation.
Speaker 3 (20:53):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (20:53):
And so this is not gonna be something that masket.
It's not gonna be like this. That's why we do
the three week pack. If it's inflation, these four botanicals
will get to the root of the problem and then
when it's gone unlike these things at mass Pain, it's
gone for good. So relieffactor dot com or Rick Burgess
Show dot com under the sponsor.
Speaker 3 (21:12):
So we we.
Speaker 4 (21:13):
Have another play We we got playoffs happening. I told you,
David Pollock. You know Homie g he is, he's going
to be with us tomorrow. We'll kind of we'll kind
of sandwich him in between the two semifinal games. So
tonight Penn State UH will be battling UH, Notre Dame H.
So we are yeah, we are, we are Penn State.
(21:35):
Are is there a little bit? And I know we're
Southern boys. Okay, we got it. I know, I know,
and trust me, we will. I know some of you
out there are just absolutely nauseated by having to hear
about the SEC all the time. Well, the good news
is this year you're not gonna have to hear about
it in the finals because the SEC UH did not
stand up as as strong as some of the other
(21:57):
conferences this year. But with that being said, and I
know someone from the South saying this, it must just
be infuriating to some of you out there up North,
and I got it. I don't really want to see
Ohio State pay Penn State in the National Championship.
Speaker 3 (22:11):
Gun, I mean, and gonna be honest with all this,
these lasting matches really don't mean nothing to me.
Speaker 9 (22:17):
Greg, I'm kind of digging tonight in the Orange Bowl,
you got, as you said, Penn State and Notre Dame
and then I mean Texas the long chance for the
SEC to make it to the to the championship.
Speaker 4 (22:29):
Game, they're barely there. And they're barely there in the
first year in the SEC.
Speaker 3 (22:33):
You know, the Cotton Bowl what tomorrow night.
Speaker 4 (22:36):
So, I mean, I just don't want to see Ohio
State and Penn State play again because Ohio State's just
going to beat Penn State again. So so I just
don't want to see that again. And I understand those
you have to going. So y'all didn't care if it
was to the Southern teams and Nessie, you're right, yeah, yeah, no,
guilty as charged.
Speaker 3 (22:54):
I must say that I'm not that interested in it.
I'm just not I gonna watch it.
Speaker 5 (22:57):
Gregg.
Speaker 4 (22:58):
I mean, I've been waiting watch Joe. I've been and
we got some things we got to do, and we've
talked about that. But here's one thing that we were
talking about. With all the weather thing that's going on,
Speedy was telling me, now, there's two things happening in
the NFL playoffs this weekend. You got California fires, which
will get an update on that today. Could impact the
(23:18):
playoff game for the Chargers. And then I didn't know this.
Speedy just told me the winter weather could affect the
Texas game.
Speaker 9 (23:27):
Yes, yes, because what the Deep South is expecting to experience,
you know, towards the end of the weekend. It's in
Texas now, and so they're talking about how it's just
gonna cripple the Dallas metro and the roads and interstates
coming in, and so they're talking about it is not
(23:50):
off the table that that that game could get pushed
back because the National Championship game, I don't think it
is until the twentieth I think, so they have some
wiggle room. And they said that the residents of Texas
is more important than the game being played on times,
So who said that? Officials in Texas and so they've
got their people that would make that decision. So I
(24:13):
guess maybe at some point this afternoon or whenever, they'll
they'll decide Okay, no, it's going to go on as planned,
or we're pushing it back twenty four hours or whatever.
That that's just on the table. And the other is
the game that you were talking about. Is the NFL
announced that the playoff game and it's the Rams rick
(24:33):
in the Minnesota VA Rams.
Speaker 3 (24:35):
I'm sorry, I said Chargers.
Speaker 9 (24:36):
That Glendale, Arizona is the backup plan there. It was
scheduled for Monday night at SOFI Stadium, but with the
fires and all that, they also don't know what that
looks like. But that is the plan that it be
moved to Glendale, Arizona. Whether the Cardinals play.
Speaker 4 (24:51):
Well, We're going to talk a little more about these
fires in California. I mean, guys, I mean this is
and this is something that a again more and more
of some of this leftists craziness and just the lack
of just walking around chewing gum sense.
Speaker 3 (25:12):
When you live in a.
Speaker 4 (25:13):
Place that is susceptible to wildfire, as I understand the
winds and all that, it's a unique situation, but this
is something that.
Speaker 3 (25:19):
You deal with.
Speaker 4 (25:21):
And you cut the fire department twenty million dollars and
then you got some weird thing going on with some
fish that has has taken the water away for water
to be available, and we'll talk more about.
Speaker 3 (25:36):
It when we come back.
Speaker 4 (25:37):
We got we've even got some I know, people are
showing these videos of people's homes and things burning, and
now you know, there's accountability where they're trying to go
to these people.
Speaker 3 (25:48):
We've all seen the video.
Speaker 4 (25:49):
I'm sure by now of you know, a reporter addressing
the mayor going, you know, do you do you have
anything to say to these people that you cut twenty
million dollars out of the fire efforts? And you know,
now this thing about the fish in the in the water.
At one time that was being debunked, but now it's
back saying no, no, no, of that that actually was was
(26:10):
a legitimate accusation, right.
Speaker 3 (26:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (26:12):
Everybody made fun of Trump when he appeared on Rogan
and said that he talked about the story and you know,
the impacts and how they were pushing the water out
to the Pacific, and everybody was oh, and now it's like,
oh wow, so he was right again Greg, he gets
he gets to say what you say again.
Speaker 8 (26:28):
You need to save the smelt though.
Speaker 3 (26:30):
Guys, yes, is that what it was the smelt.
Speaker 8 (26:32):
That's a type of fish. Yes, well, I mean we
must save them.
Speaker 7 (26:36):
They're beautiful, tiny sardine looking fish.
Speaker 3 (26:40):
Yeah. And and not to be confused with the pigmy sculping. Right.
And and of.
Speaker 4 (26:43):
Course now, like like we we have experienced even again
to some degree, you know, this thing where people have
gone from being hey, we agree to disagree, or hey
we we you may like this, we don't like that.
Hey we let me make this point, you make this point.
Now we've gotten to the point where as I mentioned
on the show yesterday, is that people have kind of
(27:05):
lost reality with even disagreeing about something or not liking something.
And I'm seeing some of the textures talking about it
where now you know, people are coming on all these
social media platforms. Of course we've experienced it to a
degree as well many times throughout doing this, and a
little bit even now is where people start like, you know,
I'm glad James Wood's house burned down.
Speaker 3 (27:27):
Good uh, and I.
Speaker 4 (27:28):
Wish you I wish you would have burned with it,
you know, and and all this crazy. I mean, it's
just so maniacal out there. And we'll talk a little
bit about that on the show today too. But when
we come back, we'll take a look at this, you know,
and I do I do like that that we as
a people seem to be more willing now when we
(27:50):
have politicians make these outrageous decisions that are based on emotion.
Speaker 3 (27:56):
They're not really based on facts.
Speaker 4 (27:59):
Uh you know it, yotic things like you know, demonizing
law enforcement and defund police, crazy movements like that. And
then when these things end up costing people and creating
a situation that's even more catastrophic than it could have been.
Somebody's got a hold accountable for that. And I'm glad
that we are seeing some effort to hold these people
(28:21):
accountable and make them answer for Okay, everyone told you
this was not a wise decision. You demonize those people,
said they were wicked for disagreeing with you, And now
we have this what say you? And we come back,
you'll see the mayor just kind of sits there and
doesn't say eything. It's the weirdest response to a question.
(28:41):
I even expected her to try to justify it and
say that's an unfair question or something. Yeah, and you
just get nothing. Now, you just get a blank stare.
So we'll be back fifteen minutes to the top. Rick
Burgesshow dot com is our website. Our number eight eight
eight six Big box. You can text at the same line.
Speaker 3 (29:01):
We'll be right back.
Speaker 2 (29:04):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 3 (29:25):
Thanks for being with us today. Rick Burgess Show with Speedy,
Greg and Adler all here.
Speaker 4 (29:31):
And we're covering, you know, what's going on around the world,
what's going on within the show.
Speaker 3 (29:39):
We're having some fun. By the way, a lot of
you were sending this was it yesterday? Yeah, it was yesterday,
the twenty fifth anniversary of the Music City Miracle. I
got that video a lot yesterday.
Speaker 4 (29:52):
Man, it was so much fun to go back and
watch that and listen to that again. And you know,
I'd forgotten on the Music City Miracle with the Tennessee Titans.
It was their first season, right, it was their inaugural
season there. Yeah, and so in Nashville because I think
they played one year. Yeah yeah, yeah, it was in
the New State of yeah, Memphis, And so anyway, is
(30:14):
I'd forgotten that. You know, everybody had to sit and
wait to see if they were going to rule it
afford lateral or not.
Speaker 5 (30:22):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (30:23):
And And what was funny is when it first happens
because I you know, I've heard the Mike Keith over
and over and over again. But what I enjoyed yesterday
was a lot of you uh were you sent me
where you could see both and.
Speaker 3 (30:34):
By the way, there are we're celebrating.
Speaker 4 (30:40):
But what's funny is the late Steve McNair finally saw
that documentary to oh hey.
Speaker 9 (30:47):
And I don't like God ended I need I need
you all to walk that little bit.
Speaker 3 (30:50):
And there's some questions, yeah, there there were. There were
some more questions than I expected.
Speaker 4 (30:54):
But but anyway, so but I finally saw just the
network broadcast. And so when when tennessee first scores, the
announcers are completely convinced it's a forward pass and it's
coming back. I mean that they are even doing I
don't you know they're not saying this. You can tell
their voices. Y'all need to quit yelling because this ain't
(31:14):
gonna stand. Well, then when they started looking at it,
finally the color guy who absolutely I don't remember who
it was, was saying it was a forward pass.
Speaker 3 (31:22):
He goesaid, you know what he said, He said, I
think this is going to stand.
Speaker 4 (31:28):
And he said, because of what if you look why
Check actually does throw it the way he's supposed to back,
so Dyson, even though if he stayed where he was
it would have been a forward pass, he moves to
where the ball is, yes, and then his foot goes
back over the lines to where it's a lateral.
Speaker 8 (31:44):
From this angle, it looks bad.
Speaker 3 (31:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (31:46):
Now when you first said you think that's a that's
an illegal forward pass.
Speaker 3 (31:49):
Yeah, Well but a couple of things.
Speaker 9 (31:51):
If you look where why Check's body is, yeah, I
mean it's obvious, but you can't do that. You got
to look where his army is, where he really leases
the ball, which is in front of him.
Speaker 4 (32:02):
And now watch Dyson go back see yeah, see he
didn't catch it there and go back, get down you see.
Now that's why that's why it was allowed. Said look
at his foot and look where the ball is.
Speaker 7 (32:11):
And technically the direction of the ball would determine if
it's a forward pass or a or a lateral.
Speaker 3 (32:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (32:18):
And what was interesting about Speedy and Bubba and me
both yeah being there being there on the sideline is
that we everybody is so convinced this game is over
with sixteen seconds left that we're literally being thanked for
the first year. They were going to bring We'll bring
Speedy back. Hey, good, good, good first year here in
the new stadium, and then this happens.
Speaker 3 (32:38):
Yeah, and I walked over and they go all the
way to the super Bowl. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (32:41):
Uh.
Speaker 9 (32:42):
And so this is when White Hat went and he
you know, he like covered his head up and he went,
he went in behind the curtain kind of thing and
was looking at stuff, and they had it.
Speaker 3 (32:52):
They had him kind of fenced off.
Speaker 9 (32:53):
But Bubba and I walked over really close to him,
and and then he turns around. He starts walking back
to the field to make the endnouncement. We're like, okay,
here we go, and man, I bet you I w
wasn't from here to Adler from White Hat when he
turned around and told everybody wow, and everybody went went crazy.
Speaker 7 (33:10):
And there's Rick right behind him, right right behind me,
right on the sideline on the broadcast.
Speaker 3 (33:16):
And I think there's another shot. You're on the field.
Speaker 5 (33:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (33:20):
We were at home, me and Lisa and Taylor. Tyler
was young, and we were watching it now, so we
start screaming that's and yeah, there's another one. I'm out
there on the field with him. So when he keeps
going but.
Speaker 8 (33:38):
In the air.
Speaker 4 (33:39):
Yeah, you're in the painting for a minute. Now, yeah,
I'm in the painting for a minute. I thought I
was on t I think you're in the painting.
Speaker 3 (33:45):
Yeah. Yeah, there's a guy that looks like yeah. So
and you're by that state trooper. Oh yeah. All right,
So back over to California. But thank you all for
seeing that yesterday. That was great.
Speaker 4 (33:55):
So back over to California. So here is the mayor. Now,
this mayor has the fire budget twenty million dollars. And
then the smelt fish must be saved, so we divert
water into the Pacific, right, yeah, yeah, must we must?
And now they have, you know, not enough people and
(34:16):
not enough equipment and no water. So and and now
the mayor is going to be asked about that.
Speaker 12 (34:22):
He's an apology for being absent while their homes were burning.
Do you regret coming the fire department budget by millions
of dollars?
Speaker 13 (34:30):
Mount of Mayor?
Speaker 12 (34:33):
Have you nothing to say today? Have you absolutely nothing
to say to the citizens today? A long mosque says
that you're utterly incompetent. Are you considering your position?
Speaker 3 (34:47):
What? Wow?
Speaker 12 (34:49):
The mayor?
Speaker 3 (34:49):
Have you absolutely nothing.
Speaker 12 (34:50):
To say to the citizens? Today, who are dealing with
this disaster?
Speaker 8 (34:55):
How long does this go on?
Speaker 6 (34:56):
What?
Speaker 3 (34:57):
It's almost like there's something wrong with her. Maybe they're
so much for them, buddy, I don't think you're gonna
get one.
Speaker 12 (35:03):
Do you think you should have been visiting Ghana while
this was unfolding?
Speaker 3 (35:08):
She was out of the country. Can I ask a question? Yeah?
Where is the reporter? Yeah? What can can they? Can
she hear?
Speaker 7 (35:16):
She's just waiting to get through that door, and they're like,
we must be diverted because this guy keeps asking me questions?
Speaker 3 (35:22):
So is it the guy in the grain behind her?
Is that what it is?
Speaker 9 (35:25):
I guess I guess okay, because at first I was
thinking she's just acting like she can't even hear him.
Speaker 3 (35:30):
But if she's if he's right behind her, she can hear.
Speaker 8 (35:33):
You can see, like the way her eyes twitching a
little bit.
Speaker 10 (35:35):
I think.
Speaker 4 (35:35):
Isn't that Wasn't that a strange reaction? I mean, well,
that's what makes me think she But yeah.
Speaker 3 (35:41):
She was just she had no answer, no ready for it.
Speaker 4 (35:45):
So I'm not that I'm not that versed on the
the other narrative he's talking about. Apparently she went to Ghana. Yeah,
she was out of the side of the country. And
are they saying she knew what was going on and
should immediate started working her way back and she didn't.
Speaker 7 (35:57):
She was there for like the presidential and auger of
Ghana or something, which why is the mayor of l
A going anyways?
Speaker 4 (36:04):
But anyway, but that's a strange reaction. I've seen spin,
I've seen you know, get out of my way. I'm
not taking any questions. I've never seen blank Stare, Yeah,
I mean, but blank Stair is a new one.
Speaker 8 (36:16):
But the amount of incompetence around all of this is astounding,
and the devastation is unbelievable. It's apocalyptic. Yeah, it's going
to be the most costly fire in US history. It
will be the most costly fire in US history.
Speaker 4 (36:33):
We have well, we can get one of these videos in,
but we can come back the videos, Greg. And the
thing is when there's fire like this where celebrities live
and actors and you know, some of them current but
a lot of them, you know, just when you see
things like you know, Steve Guttenberg's out there directing traffic
and James Woods is you know, being interviewed about about
(36:53):
how this feels but you know, Gutenberg, we can show
right now. You have time for that if you want
to video one. But you telling me about this, I mean,
you look and you know if if the fire is
going there, you look up and hey, they're Steve Gutenberg.
Speaker 3 (37:05):
He's he's telling everybody to leave their keys in their cars.
They're abandoned in their cars, so that they can move them. Right,
he's giving it. So Steve Guttenberg is after hell, but here.
Speaker 14 (37:12):
Okay, so a guy like me can move your cars
and get them up there, so that so that these
fight trucks can get up there. It's really really important.
Speaker 15 (37:21):
Uh, thank you, thank you for talking to us life sir.
Speaker 6 (37:23):
What's her name?
Speaker 14 (37:23):
My name is Steve Guttenberg. I live right up the hill,
and thank goodness, but I have friends up there right now.
Speaker 8 (37:31):
Have you seen the police academy.
Speaker 3 (37:33):
You may have known me.
Speaker 8 (37:35):
My name is Steve Guttenberg.
Speaker 3 (37:37):
I think.
Speaker 4 (37:41):
What what is your name, ma'am? My name's Madonna.
Speaker 7 (37:47):
I'm sorry, Steve, I didn't recognize you without the sound effects.
Speaker 3 (37:50):
Yeah, that's all made.
Speaker 4 (37:53):
How many place academies were They're like eight, They were
a lot of and and let's face it, why not
a couple more pretty funny by noise Guy.
Speaker 3 (38:02):
Yeh, noise Guy, how you got on your nerves? You
know he was right at it, okay, but he would
do it too long when he was doing the interviews
on late night shows. It was a little time, all right.
So we'll come back.
Speaker 4 (38:13):
There's still more on on the California fires. We'll kind
of run through what we have left and then we'll
get on something else. So h don't forget if you
want to go find out everything you could possibly need
to know about the show Rick Burgessshow dot Com.
Speaker 3 (38:26):
We'll be back top of the hour.
Speaker 2 (38:28):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. Big Bucks that are
taking by Price, Sam's The Rick Burgess Show with Speedy,
Greg Burgess, Edie Van, I'd love and Rick Burges.
Speaker 3 (38:55):
Thank you very much.
Speaker 4 (38:56):
Thank you for being with us on a brand new
hour just to cover today. If you're just joining us,
glad you're here. We have got a couple of things
coming up today. James span next hour, he'll update us
on the latest with this winter storm that is already
affecting a lot of.
Speaker 3 (39:15):
You, and how will it affect the rest of you.
We'll we'll see, we'll talk to James about that. Also,
college football playoffs starts back tonight. The semifinals will be
tonight and tomorrow night, and David Pollock be with us tomorrow,
Homie g h and he'll we'll talk a little bit
about how the college playoff has gone and then how
(39:36):
he'll see the potential next couple of games as well.
Speaker 4 (39:41):
So that's coming up tomorrow. Also Granger Smith will be
on tomorrow's program also, so look forward to that. Now today,
we if you're just joining us right now, we're just
coming out of talking about the California fires. You know,
the winter the winter weather is the story. The California
fires are story. When anything involves celebrities, it makes the
(40:02):
story stranger. Uh So, we've been talking about that a
little bit, including Steve Gutenberg helping move cars and being
asked by a reporter your name, sir. Uh So, James
Woods has been quite the He's been a little bit
of a of a controversial character because he works in
the land of entertainment, or did for many years.
Speaker 3 (40:23):
He's pretty much blackball now.
Speaker 4 (40:25):
And he he committed the ultimate Hollywood sin. He decided
to be openly conservative. Oh uh oh, and you can
be secretly conservative, you cannot be openly conservative. So he
has he is hated by his fellow leftists. Uh, and
he uh unfortunately has lost his house, or at least
(40:47):
one of his houses, his main house, in the fire.
And of course the leftists loved this. They're glad that
James woods house burning. Now, remember the don't forget leftists,
because you know we've been in the cross hair of
them many times. These all loving follow your heart, you
be you that they say those things, they don't quite
(41:11):
live them out very well, especially if you don't agree
with them. Now, if you don't agree with them, then
you can't be who you are. You can't live out
your truth.
Speaker 3 (41:22):
You can't be you. You now must be not just
disagreed with. We kind of like it.
Speaker 4 (41:27):
If you burned, we wouldn't mind it. If somebody killed you,
we wouldn't mind If you got sick, we like that too. Yeah,
if you could get some sort of ailment, we'd celebrate
that while telling the world how all the world needs
is love. But here's James, regardless of how the left
feels about him. It's an emotional day and I can't
(41:48):
I mean, it's just it's heartbreaking to think about that.
You know, because when you think about about a home
or something like that, and especially if it's your main
place where all your memories are, your photo albums, all
this kind of stuff, it is I can't imagine what
that's like to see that all go away. So here
he is talking about that.
Speaker 16 (42:07):
Finally got into the Sunset trangestion. It's nine miles to
Beverly Hills. It takes us usually about about twenty five minutes.
Took two and a half hours. And you have to
understand somebody didn't charge their car, you know, their electric car,
didn't put gas in their gasoline car, and now they're
on Sunset. No, I got to abandon my car, and
now the fire trucks can't get through, and now people
(42:29):
can't walk. When we couldn't get our garage door open
because the wind was blocking because our door goes up
like this, I said, oh my god, we're up in
the hills here. We got to walk out. I'm seventy
seven years old, man, I can't walk up these hills.
Is like Mount Everest there. It's like, you know, pretty steep.
Speaker 6 (42:45):
So you know, it's just I posted the sun Expert.
But Sarah was on with her eight year old.
Speaker 5 (42:53):
Lease.
Speaker 17 (42:54):
Last night she came out, I'm sorry, just you know,
you're swimming pool and the next day it's all gone.
But she came out with her little eddie piggy bank
for us to rebuild our house.
Speaker 16 (43:12):
Oh, oh my gosh.
Speaker 4 (43:15):
James Woods, okay, James Woods, Okay, Adler, I know this
all right?
Speaker 7 (43:22):
He said, I thought I would be stronger than this,
and I thought I thought he would be stronger than
that to just on the news.
Speaker 8 (43:27):
Okay, I need to not criticize it.
Speaker 3 (43:29):
Are you criticized? I need to not do that. No,
that that that's right, that's that's raw emotion. But it
is notice kind of picked up over the years.
Speaker 8 (43:36):
I noticed that.
Speaker 3 (43:38):
Tell me that's not your takeaway? Is that your takeaway?
Did you are you literally saying in the middle of
him being observant? Right, Okay, did y'all not notice it
when you first start talking? I didn't know it was him.
Speaker 9 (43:52):
Yeah, I was like, wow, So did he say he
was his granddaughter that had the piggy bank.
Speaker 3 (43:57):
That's right, it's his wife's it's their niece, the niece.
I think it was a niece. Well, that's that's what
got him choked up.
Speaker 9 (44:03):
Yeah, absolutely, because to her her little money in that
her piggy bank, that that would buy a house, that
would fix the house.
Speaker 4 (44:09):
Yeah, help me, help me. Yeah, I was focusing on that.
Apparently Greg was focused. I didn't hear anything on a
list that James Wood has picked up.
Speaker 3 (44:20):
I just noticed. I remember the movies. He was good movies.
I just don't remember him listping that one. The toplet
was swollen. To me, maybe maybe hit it on the
crying or some real man cries when he got choked up.
I get that. But up to that, when he first
started talking, I thought it was somebody else it was.
It was lispy seventy seven. The first thing with my
mind was suffering, right. Uh so doctor Drew. What's going
(44:42):
on with doctor Drew here? Uh?
Speaker 7 (44:43):
He's just talking about how the all the crazy lefty Sorry,
but uh there the green movement and the push, yeah,
the push to to limit people's lives and limit fossil
fuels and.
Speaker 8 (44:59):
And hurt people and hurt the economy all in the
name of saving the planet.
Speaker 4 (45:03):
You're talking about the things we talk about. So doctor
Drew's going to weigh and actually agree with us. It
wouldn't he one time sort of left. Is he he's
really started to become a guy with some common sense.
Speaker 7 (45:12):
Well, he's following the facts, and that inherently will inevitably
make you a more conservative person on the right.
Speaker 4 (45:18):
Do you also find it odd back to last hour
that people are now telling politicians stuff that what Elon
musk opinion of them?
Speaker 3 (45:27):
Does that seem interesting? I tell you what, Elon didn't
think you getting the job.
Speaker 4 (45:31):
I'm kind of glad he's on our team now and
all that, but I don't I mean, this thing moved
because like he's vice president.
Speaker 3 (45:37):
I haven't seen Vans since.
Speaker 4 (45:38):
Now you're right, all right, So here's doctor Drew talking
about the things that we have all been predicting we're
going to happen when you go down this ridiculous road.
Speaker 18 (45:46):
Here we go, uh and and by the way, and
so there is no smoke here where we live, because
there's the fire surrounding us. And so my nose, my chest,
everything ashes off over the place. And in fact, when
you look out the window of our house, I mean
the smoke is is it looks like a very cloudy day.
Speaker 6 (46:06):
I believe orange and orange color.
Speaker 18 (46:09):
Remember when the fire story in Canada, the smoke descended
out of New York City and you had that sort
of orange cast. However, that we have that here, but
it's hard to breathe the message of your nose and everything.
Speaker 3 (46:20):
It's nasty.
Speaker 18 (46:21):
And one of one of the interesting things I want
to point out is whether I think it's about five
years of no gas powered vehicles or the equivalent of
what just went into the air here in southern California.
We've completely whatever CO two we are worried about putting
into the atmosphere in California, we have completely undone anything
(46:42):
we could possibly do by allowing these fires to occur.
Speaker 3 (46:45):
Boom.
Speaker 4 (46:46):
Well, well, and that's how many years have that people
have been pointing out over and over again that natural
disasters eclipse anything that human beings are attempting to do,
coming to seal to and then the earth cleans itself
up after the Earth actually does this itself. So next
good news is, and raise your hand if you forgot
(47:07):
that for the next few days, that that Joe Biden
is still president.
Speaker 8 (47:11):
Yeah, I think he forgot to.
Speaker 3 (47:14):
He forgot last year.
Speaker 4 (47:15):
Well, they're gonna they're gonna ask him about California being
on fire, and of course a very very classic current
version of Joe Biden response on this one.
Speaker 3 (47:23):
So, so here it is video four. Oh my goodness,
I can't even hear what he said.
Speaker 8 (47:36):
It sounded good on my phone.
Speaker 3 (47:39):
I don't even know what You're not gonna believe it.
Jim Dunham needs to pick up. Yeah, yeah, I don't
even know what they are.
Speaker 8 (47:48):
It sounded so good on my phone.
Speaker 3 (47:50):
Well look, how many times have we said that that was?
Speaker 5 (47:52):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (47:53):
So what did he say?
Speaker 7 (47:54):
Well, he says, you know, all ugly spires are consuming
everyone's lives. But the good news is I'm a great grandfather.
The whole room in the press conferences is like, what
why were you even mentioning that? There's an awkward pause
and then an awkward clack what happened? And that I
don't know why that audio signs so bad to get
that mean, sorry.
Speaker 3 (48:13):
It's cool, all right, the timing on that We'll be
right back. Yeah he didn't know.
Speaker 2 (48:17):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 3 (48:36):
Blood test from the.
Speaker 2 (48:39):
The Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 4 (48:41):
Yeah, pushing back against the fake world, actually coming from
the real world. Uh so we we we've been breaking
down the California fire thing and we actually I thought
of course I forgot about the room, especially you know
with the Kraken in here release. The crack is that
(49:02):
we would show that James Woods, who we all respect
as an actor and then you know, becoming a bold
conservative in the face of opposition, that he would get
emotional about his little niece offering her piggy bank to
help rebuild his house had been burned in the fire,
and we thought that might be a touching moment.
Speaker 3 (49:22):
That was a mistake on my part.
Speaker 4 (49:23):
I'm not sure what I was thinking about calling for
that video as we watched that our takeaway was not
Apparently the distraught James Woods. In all of this scene,
Greg focused on the fact that James Woods, in his opinion,
has developed a lisp and has gone his fault is
(49:44):
don't remember his characters talking like that, and has gone
as far as to ask Adler to find old footage
to compare.
Speaker 7 (49:50):
Yeah, well, we need to get to the start to
claim when did James Woods get a list?
Speaker 4 (49:54):
I want to I want to be sure I have
this right. The California fires us wahing into that we
have now come to the place that our commentary on
the fire will be, does James Woods now have a lisp.
Speaker 3 (50:10):
Look, we know the fires are bad. Okay, we got that, Yeah,
all right, and I feel and you can tell.
Speaker 4 (50:16):
All right, So this is is this is the current.
Then we're going to old.
Speaker 8 (50:20):
Well see if the lisp is as bad as Greg
is remembering and I'm remembering.
Speaker 3 (50:23):
Okay, this is on the hill.
Speaker 6 (50:25):
We finally got into the sunset and a half hours.
Speaker 8 (50:33):
Okay, all right, well it's there.
Speaker 3 (50:35):
It is there, Okay, I mean it's there.
Speaker 4 (50:38):
I've never because I will tell you this, and I
know I was actually missed at the first round because
I was more concentrated on the fact that it's house
burned and his little niece was trying to help him
with a piggy bank. So I missed the lisp, but
I will now acknowledge it is there.
Speaker 3 (50:55):
Yeah, okay.
Speaker 7 (50:56):
So here's a here's a clip from fifteen years ago, okay,
which he's coming to.
Speaker 8 (51:01):
Some stage at uh.
Speaker 3 (51:03):
Long ago fifteen fifteen fifteen years.
Speaker 8 (51:06):
A a f I, or at least that's when this
was uploaded to YouTube.
Speaker 10 (51:09):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (51:10):
He's talking about Meryl Streep or something.
Speaker 7 (51:12):
He's talking about working on a film with Meryl Streep,
so he's gonna say something that sounds weird.
Speaker 8 (51:16):
But he's just talking about working on a film. But
it says Streep and he doesn't have he done.
Speaker 3 (51:24):
I had an affair with Meryl Streep no list.
Speaker 8 (51:29):
Every single night for four and a half months. Okay,
so every single that was not a that was not there.
We got, we got the single, we got.
Speaker 3 (51:39):
We got Streep and we got single. Yeah, and there
was nothing there?
Speaker 14 (51:45):
Is it?
Speaker 8 (51:45):
The smoke? The smoke?
Speaker 3 (51:47):
First of all, he's seventy seven, okay, now, okay, and
a no, I'm just saying, I'm tired mouth, I'm tired.
Speaker 9 (51:57):
I'm sure he's had some medical I don't know, but
it's either he's got a swollen tongue or or his
his top lip is stopped moving.
Speaker 3 (52:06):
The narrowed it down. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (52:08):
May I propose, sorry, may I propose?
Speaker 3 (52:11):
Did he have a little work done and it froze
the top lip. That's very possible. What do you call
the little area between ther top lip and your your nose?
Speaker 10 (52:24):
Cut it?
Speaker 3 (52:26):
If we were breaking down film, yeah, yeah, going and
cut it. That's the area. If we're just breaking.
Speaker 7 (52:31):
Space between somebody, Oh yeah, it's your filterm filtering.
Speaker 3 (52:39):
Yea, his filter is not is not working with the
other players. Well, someone is also saying, is it possible
he has false teeth? Now, sure he would have, he
wouldn't have just read and granddaddy false teeth?
Speaker 5 (52:55):
All right?
Speaker 3 (52:55):
So somebody now, someone saying, let me correct that. What
about this dental work? What about Here's a person say,
as we old folks must be an older person. Of course,
I guess that would include me.
Speaker 4 (53:04):
Now, we old folks have dental work done, and sometimes
it causes us to now have a lisp.
Speaker 3 (53:10):
Others are saying, maybe a small stroke. That's I looked
at you and mouthed that I don't think he had
a stroke, y'all?
Speaker 8 (53:18):
Small stroke? This is all.
Speaker 3 (53:19):
There's no there is And I'm trying to marry this
bless his heart. What movies he lost everything? The one
with Denzel Washington and he wants this kid to get
a heart transplant. He's the surgeon in that one. And
then the one when him and Jeff Bridges was a
football player against all odds.
Speaker 5 (53:38):
That was it.
Speaker 3 (53:38):
That's the one I always think of, what I mean,
I know who he is, but I can't think of
But also am I wrong? Did he not have a bit?
I think I'm wrong?
Speaker 19 (53:47):
On this.
Speaker 3 (53:47):
Did he have a bit of a run to on
some sort of police type TV thing? You know what
I think? Boys?
Speaker 8 (53:53):
Just Nixon? Okay, he was in Casino? Okay, any given Sunday.
Speaker 3 (54:02):
Oh really didn't remember that?
Speaker 7 (54:04):
Yeah, did not remember that the Virgin never mind Easy
Oh Video Drone Classic.
Speaker 3 (54:10):
I don't know that.
Speaker 8 (54:11):
You don't want to watch it. It's this weird movie
I had to watch in film school. It is the
weirdest movie that is ever to.
Speaker 3 (54:17):
We didn't know you went to film school.
Speaker 8 (54:19):
I studied radio television film at Auburn, not film school. Sorry, class,
I'm to say a film clip we watched. I took
a class called Asian Cinema.
Speaker 3 (54:28):
I bet that we watched Jackie Chan.
Speaker 8 (54:31):
I was like, I'm in school right now.
Speaker 3 (54:32):
I do this on my own anyway. I love Jackie Chan. Greg.
I know you were screening calls yesterday because now we're
now we're going into shows. We're leaving. James Woods determined
he somehow got a list now that he didn't have.
Speaker 4 (54:45):
Did the person tell you when they called in about
the docu series? They want you to watch about two things? YEA,
something to Elvis impersonators, kings.
Speaker 7 (54:55):
Of speaking of old people we can't understand. I do
have a good clip of by By I didn't. I
cleaned up the audio, so hopefully we can hear this
in on the mud.
Speaker 3 (55:04):
Bang. There we go, right here we go today. Maybe
he's still standing. I sure not much better. Good news
is I'm a great.
Speaker 8 (55:13):
Ex Francis dead.
Speaker 13 (55:17):
On the grands in.
Speaker 3 (55:23):
The middle of all that know the room, know the room.
Speaker 7 (55:28):
Audio is better, but worst fire in history in the
in the country. But the good news is I'm a
great grandfather. And then he messed it up. I have
a granddaughter. No, sir, you have a great granddaughter. You
have you have you do have a granddaughter that you
don't acknowledge.
Speaker 3 (55:41):
You do have that, So maybe you were going to
do that all Tadler.
Speaker 4 (55:46):
It's but yeah, this you know, and and again when
you're in the state that he's in and I don't,
there's no need to worry about it. It's over Rick
Trump one uh, you know, barring some sort of unforeseen
he's he's over Rick. There's no need to keep making
the point that we can all see because it's over. Okay,
that point was made, and apparently I felt better about
(56:07):
America because America seemed to actually understand. Yeah, and you know,
you ever ever felt like sometimes you're just out in
the wildering to screaming, no one's listening. Yeah, but but
then when you saw the election, you went, okay, well
so this was it was what I thought. It was
so blatantly obvious that even people that may have voted
for him the first time just couldn't do it again.
Speaker 3 (56:26):
Yeah, okay, and uh.
Speaker 4 (56:28):
And then and then when Kamala, you know, got involved it,
as we predicted, I think people were even less interested.
I think there were people. I think there were people
willing to vote for Biden that just could not vote
for Kamala. I agree, I'm sorry, I'm all all thinks true.
James Woods, right, I don't know what's wrong with him?
Speaker 3 (56:43):
I think, yeah, t I have you ever thought that
he what is that thing you had that time Bell's palsy?
Oh yeah, he doesn't have Bell's palsy? What's t I
A it's a little attack, it's a.
Speaker 8 (56:55):
See it now?
Speaker 11 (56:56):
Yeah, this lady's.
Speaker 3 (57:00):
It could be just sleepy entire because he does everything
that's the good.
Speaker 20 (57:04):
What about that?
Speaker 3 (57:05):
That's probable.
Speaker 4 (57:07):
I've been tired enough on this show before I did
it with a list. Yeah, yeah, trust you my mouth.
We're just like, I'm sorry, we're.
Speaker 3 (57:13):
Just not with you network in the name he did
put his teeth in, maybe not before you.
Speaker 2 (57:17):

his hands. You a kid, I can I tell you
why you're your hands. I mean it's cold obviously where
we live. And we'll talk to spend about this next time.
We don't have heat here.
Speaker 4 (01:00:09):
No, No, let me tell you I've noticed something even
being at home, and I noticed in my office the
last couple of days.
Speaker 3 (01:00:17):
If you're close to a window, you're in a colder place.
Speaker 8 (01:00:20):
Absolutely.
Speaker 3 (01:00:20):
I mean it's cold.
Speaker 4 (01:00:21):
You're sitting right, you're sitting right, You're sitting right in
front of the window, and I'm telling you that's a
colder spot.
Speaker 3 (01:00:28):
Yeah, so you brought and left in home. Let me
let me tell you what you're.
Speaker 4 (01:00:32):
Not gonna do you're not gonna sit over there with
your hands inside those sleeves, because.
Speaker 3 (01:00:37):
God, that ain't happen. I'm not gonna look at that.
So so it's gonna be all right. Hey, little baby
brother's kind of cheer snuggling. You want to become snuggling.
You get cold?
Speaker 4 (01:00:53):
Two things you're Greg, I'm gonna say this. Two things
I've noticed to age and we've all lost weight. I'm
telling you fat Fact can do a lot of bad.
Fact can do a lot of bad. But you don't
get cold. That's okay.
Speaker 3 (01:01:07):
And now that you get you get sweaty. Yeah, that's
I'm a lot colder now.
Speaker 19 (01:01:12):
Now that.
Speaker 3 (01:01:14):
Is running back and forth to warm up? There it is?
Where's he going?
Speaker 8 (01:01:21):
What's he doing?
Speaker 3 (01:01:22):
Where's he going? He just ran out of this.
Speaker 4 (01:01:24):
You may be going to get me some mitten. By
the way, I do have a snug about my my whatever.
Do we have a fishy called the boggin snowging? I
don't know, but I grew up on the store. They
call it a waffle beanie.
Speaker 3 (01:01:36):
That's what Greg wants. I actually have. I actually have
money in my truck. Do you want it?
Speaker 13 (01:01:39):
No?
Speaker 3 (01:01:40):
I don't want to wear it. Any please sit here
with it, don't please, I'll go get it. If you
want to wear it. I've only want it like once, he.
Speaker 6 (01:01:48):
Really wants it.
Speaker 3 (01:01:49):
Now headphones won't work over what probably?
Speaker 14 (01:01:54):
So up?
Speaker 3 (01:01:55):
Yeah, well you can wear it the break though, you know.
Speaker 4 (01:02:00):
And we have these two basketball goals in here in
the studio and we're having fun with that. And I had,
I know, we all had talked about this because, let's
face it, whatever help plan we were all on, we
abandoned it for the holidays.
Speaker 3 (01:02:12):
I mean, just absolutely, what have you got? What have
you got? I got a sucking for you by Now
that's a beanie? Is that a heating pad.
Speaker 6 (01:02:22):
On Greg?
Speaker 3 (01:02:22):
So you can sit on it?
Speaker 4 (01:02:25):
I think the gloves by the way, I used those
glove that we were giving those gloves here by a
client or something, and I wore those.
Speaker 3 (01:02:31):
Yeah, they're not bad, they're not bad. Yeah, thank buddy.
Did you put a space heater over there for the
old man?
Speaker 10 (01:02:40):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (01:02:40):
Heat, buddy.
Speaker 4 (01:02:41):
This is what you do for you, like your grandparents
when they're when they're having a tough go sweater on
account said, do you do you feel bad? Did that
really make a difference on Max and warm?
Speaker 5 (01:02:55):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:02:56):
You're You're glad we made that move, aren't you. Yeah, yeah,
I'll be comfortable.
Speaker 21 (01:03:02):
Do y'all sneeze when you get cold? Ever, when I
look at the sun, you sneeze me. You look at
the sun? Oh yeah, I don't get to start well,
and I try to dig it, I make it. I
have you ever stared at the light bulb and trying
to make it happen?
Speaker 3 (01:03:16):
Yes, breathing, you know, yes, absolutely, really you go to
a lot, but stare at that. When somebody said it's
it's sugging, not snugging, okay, I'm sorry about that. It's sougging.
Sugging sougging, and the toboggan is a sled. We went
through all that, you know, but we have always called
them toboggans my whole life. Right, it was cool trying
to try to make you the first person that sneeze.
(01:03:37):
I buy them lunch.
Speaker 4 (01:03:39):
No, I don't want to sneeze. Because you know why,
I'm no longer a single sneezer. Remember we talked about this.
I've now become a multiple sneezer. I don't know why.
I was always a single, maybe maybe a double, but
now I've become like I sneeze. If I start sneezing,
I almost sneeze at least eight ten times.
Speaker 8 (01:03:52):
If you're looking at a light bulb. That really does.
If you feel one like you have to get one out,
you look at a light bulb.
Speaker 3 (01:03:58):
If the sign is not available.
Speaker 4 (01:03:59):
I'm saying, why do you think I'm not a solo
sneezer anymore? Why do you think I'm a multiple?
Speaker 5 (01:04:03):
Now?
Speaker 7 (01:04:03):
See my wife is a multiple two and so she'll
sneeze like three four times. And then I don't say,
God bless you. It's like I didn't know if you
were done or not. I'm sorry, I still love you.
Speaker 3 (01:04:11):
Can I can I tell you how to fix that?
Can I fix that?
Speaker 15 (01:04:15):
You?
Speaker 3 (01:04:15):
God bless you? On the first sneeze, then you don't
have to do anymore.
Speaker 8 (01:04:17):
Okay, just interrupter, just interrupt.
Speaker 3 (01:04:19):
Yeah, between that first and second one. Yeah, I'll tell
you another way to make yourself sneeze, like spearmint mints
and your other spear mint or peppermint. Not right now
you have gloves on, you know, mints for your breath
and their spear mint. Yeah, something about that. We'll get
you sneezing. I got sneeze couldn't quit. I was driving,
(01:04:40):
I was all over the road and it was somehow
the it kind of got up. My nazy passage messed
up and I got to sneezeing. Do you forget you
all to the spearmint sneeze? Jeff? If you forgot you
had a head sock on? Yeah, I did. What feels good.
But that's a meaning. Now you're you'll go along with Ianie.
Yeah you made that. You even have an old voice
(01:05:00):
right now. Some wrong with throat this morning. I don't
know what happened. It didn't hurt. I tell you what happened.
Y'all couldn't get your heat fixed till about eight o'clock. That, Yeah,
that's what. That was a nightmare, wouldn't it.
Speaker 10 (01:05:11):
Hey?
Speaker 3 (01:05:12):
The boys had a lot of challenges, but they worked
through it.
Speaker 5 (01:05:14):
You know.
Speaker 7 (01:05:15):
I used that use all of that on the way
to work this morning. That's how I looked on the
way to work right now. It's how Greg looks.
Speaker 3 (01:05:23):
But it was so cold. Yeah.
Speaker 8 (01:05:25):
No, I'm free because my.
Speaker 3 (01:05:26):
Joe Joe parking saying, did you scratch you with these?
Speaker 6 (01:05:29):
No?
Speaker 8 (01:05:30):
I did not. I didn't scratch anything with the glove song, Greg.
Speaker 4 (01:05:32):
No, but have you noticed that Greg's reluctant to talk
about a situation with his with his heat, because look
you ReLU so okay, so you must you probably don't.
Speaker 3 (01:05:43):
I got you. You don't want to everything. Yeah, there's
there's no I got a couple of angles. Okay, okay, Right,
you don't have to talk about it was a saga,
the performance. I just want to hear about how how
it impacted you just have people working in your ASTI
late at night. I say it's late at night for
me because I got to go to bed early. Right, Yeah,
(01:06:04):
I can't go to bed. How to make you feel
I was sleepy?
Speaker 22 (01:06:08):
I can?
Speaker 3 (01:06:08):
I can? I ask you this, sleepyhead, sleepy, sleep sleepy.
We're not talking about them, We're talking about sleepy. I'm sleepy.
I need to let us now go.
Speaker 4 (01:06:21):
But let me ask you this. Okay, At one point,
and I know the answer to this. At one point,
what became more important the heat being fixtured?
Speaker 3 (01:06:27):
You're going to bed?
Speaker 10 (01:06:29):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (01:06:30):
To be honest, Well, no, I'm not going down that road.
But which one was more? But you start thinking at
one point, you like, I can get covered, but I
can't get sleep back. I knew absolutely, But I can't
get I prefer to sleep when it's caught. Yeah, what
about what about the dog? What about the dogs?
Speaker 10 (01:06:46):
Though?
Speaker 3 (01:06:46):
They gotta be cold because did you have to go
get them? Plus they're at one point did they have
a heater and you didn't? Well they hit well, their
heat is nothing to brag about. In fact, they upgraded
though they had this one and it's about worn out
because last things thing you know, and how you gonna
heat the garage? Think about it, right, But they get
in the corner and it kind of goes towards them.
They like it though they'll get up under do that. Okay, okay,
(01:07:10):
but you said you went because I don't want to
let them in. I put you put your pets in.
Like I said, we were growing up the yard dogs
with dogs and wake up with frost on them.
Speaker 4 (01:07:19):
Absolutely, I mean now they this thing when we start
when we started thinking that animals can't be in the cold.
Speaker 3 (01:07:26):
When did this house they add that to the weather report?
Get your pets and your pipes and your they do
the peas is what you know?
Speaker 17 (01:07:33):
What I do?
Speaker 3 (01:07:34):
I have my when I had animals, I had them
sleep up next to my pipes. There you go to
for one. Yeah, all right, we'll be back. Greg real reluctant.
Speaker 4 (01:07:44):
He won't let us in that world we're trying to
get in there. He just put the wall up, speedy,
just put the wallet. We can't get into something that's happened.
He's trying to protect and he won't let us in.
Speaker 3 (01:07:54):
We'll be back.
Speaker 2 (01:08:00):
Is the Rick Burgess show. Sure he played a little
ball in rick Burgess.
Speaker 3 (01:08:14):
I shouldn't be a little ball. So, uh, speaking to that.
I talked to our buddy j T yesterday. Oh yes,
Klie had some a gun.
Speaker 5 (01:08:30):
You know.
Speaker 4 (01:08:30):
I won't get into it right now because maybe I
need to ask a few more people before we decide
to just jump into it. I don't want to be
like I don't. I don't want to be like Greg
is right now.
Speaker 3 (01:08:41):
But so the uh but y'all know what I had
to do yesterday? Yes I do, Okay, Adler, you you
know what I had to forgot? I Hadler forgot about it.
Speaker 4 (01:08:50):
Well, No, Adla was the one that told me I
needed to do what we did yesterday. And here ja
he was the one that said this, this must be
done right or you laid the way on this. Yeah, Well,
somehow and I know how JT.
Speaker 3 (01:09:03):
Got wind of it. Oh yeah, I know how to
know you talk about it. Hey, let me tell you something.
Speaker 4 (01:09:12):
I can't say you the number of times that JT
and I have tried to connect and he's that way.
I can't get back to you right now. I got
to you got to do this.
Speaker 3 (01:09:17):
I'm voice tracking. Hey.
Speaker 4 (01:09:20):
He started he started call me right now, you know,
like that, and I'm like, I'm like, buddy, it's hang
on a minute. There's nothing to panic about right now,
and call me right now and like that and the
things he started saying. But I can't say it because well,
what I'm wondering is is is, you know, the show
is always all of our family know this, our friends
(01:09:40):
know this, and we still try to have some sort
of you know, clear thinking, maybe more now than we
did and when we first all started doing this stuff,
you know. Is what I don't want to do is
because of the nature of it. Well, I hear from
the people that we need. Hey, man, you know you
should have been talking about that, but you know, and like,
(01:10:01):
you know that might spook or something or you're now
you're now being a detriment to what we're trying to
do for y'all. Do you see what I'm saying? Does
everybody reading where I'm going with this? Yeah, you know
you're gonna you're gonna give a heads up. And we
kind of wanted this to be so that way. That
wasn't mentioned yesterday. That was never mentioned. That's just me thinking.
But I never asked anybody. Yeah should you Yeah, what
(01:10:22):
do you think about me? You talking about this?
Speaker 22 (01:10:24):
You know?
Speaker 3 (01:10:24):
I didn't ask anybody, so, which you know everybody knows
we've all done that one. Yeah, but let me tell
you something. It flipped a JT switch.
Speaker 4 (01:10:34):
I got to hear right now. I mean before you
knew it. He was calling for all kinds of things.
It was hilarious. So anyway, but but anyway, that so
that that reminded me of that. So it's also, yes,
we could tell everybody, well do you see my point?
Speaker 3 (01:10:49):
Do you see my point? I think it has.
Speaker 4 (01:10:51):
I don't want the people that we need, that are
that are all in by the way right now, to
to cull and them go, well yeah, now now now
they know you're right, you know. So, so I just
didn't want to make that mistake yesterday. I'll tell you
it was a breath of fresh air. There's so many
things that you know, you can be gone too long.
(01:11:13):
You start thinking, you know, we all need a little
break here. And I'm all about sabbaticals and taking breaks
and we all need that.
Speaker 3 (01:11:19):
Those things are important.
Speaker 4 (01:11:20):
But boy, I was really missing doing the Wednesday Bible
study because just how much you know, any of you
that have ever been in anything where you were you know,
had to prepare and you were the teacher. And we
always get more out of it than even the people
that are there going, Okay, what have you got for us?
Because you you have to be ready, so you really
get in there, really really deep. And I'm certainly not
(01:11:43):
a gifted teacher. It doesn't come easy for me. You know,
my wife is a really good teacher.
Speaker 3 (01:11:49):
But you know, in all the.
Speaker 4 (01:11:50):
Research you have to do in studying, I just never
I don't have great study habits. So but I will
tell you it has radically changed the growth in my
spiritual life of teaching a group or whatever. And we've
been doing that Wednesday Bible study for a decade now,
can y'all believe that? So we're in the Book of
Daniel right now and I'm learning so much. You know,
(01:12:11):
Daniel's got a lot of depth to it and all
the prophecy and everything, and yesterday the topic.
Speaker 3 (01:12:19):
It's in Daniel chapter ten.
Speaker 4 (01:12:20):
And if you haven't seen yesterday's archive or heard it,
I would encourage you to do so. You know, even
I would say this is one of those say you're
somebody that because of the changes, you know, because the
changes with us starting this show.
Speaker 3 (01:12:36):
For some people, this is kind of the categories right now.
Speaker 4 (01:12:40):
I'm mad about it, and if it's not the original lineup,
then I have no interest in it. I don't like it,
I'm against it. Then you have those that say, I'm
kind of I'm kind of liking this better. Are as
good and I'm all in or maybe I've come back
to it because some of the content changes you guys
have made. I'm kind of I kind of like it better, okay,
(01:13:03):
And those two are are not large groups. The largest
group is I liked what y'all did before and I'm
giving what you are doing now shot you know which
is I mean, I'm not saying any of these categories
are bad.
Speaker 3 (01:13:16):
I'm just telling you what what that's the one? You know,
this thing.
Speaker 4 (01:13:19):
I got a text yesterday and we were talking about.
You know, this is not you're supposed to pick one
or the other, you know, pick the past over the
current or you know whatever.
Speaker 3 (01:13:29):
You enjoy all of it. And uh so anyway, somebody
sent me. It was Ryan Greenwood. He sent a text.
Speaker 4 (01:13:34):
He said, by the way, you sounded like Sammy Hagar.
Sammy Hagar finally came out and says, you don't have
to pick. That's Sammy Hagar solo. Uh Sammy Hagar van Halen,
David Lee Roth van Halen.
Speaker 3 (01:13:45):
Enjoy all of it.
Speaker 4 (01:13:46):
I mean, I was, I was, I was a new
rhyme would go with the Sammy he did, and that's
typical and of course you know, but but anyway, so
that's that's a bit of a sidetrack. But what I'm saying,
say you're a person that's new. Are you you went
away and you came back, or you've just never gotten
into the Wednesday Bible study. But you're thinking, you know what,
I may I may take a look at that, or
(01:14:07):
I may take a listen to that. This would be
a good one because it even though you it won't
be a big deal that you're behind on everything else
that's happened in the first nine chapters because there's a
topic here that I think is really important right now,
and we might even develop this into something else, another
(01:14:27):
you know deal that we do. That's kind of negotiations
right now, and that is spiritual warfare.
Speaker 8 (01:14:32):
Now.
Speaker 4 (01:14:33):
I am not talking about bigfoot aliens, you know, ghost
I'm talking about what scripture says really is happening even
as we speak right now, and that is there is
there are angels, and there are demons, and they are
one real and there is a spiritual battle going on
(01:14:55):
around us, and if we could see it, we would
not go to bed tonight.
Speaker 3 (01:14:59):
U It's.
Speaker 4 (01:15:01):
Intense and it's real, and it's important now there you'll
see in the Bible study we talk about this. But
there's a balance, though. We don't need to obsess over
it and get ourselves in some kind of danger dabble
with it.
Speaker 3 (01:15:16):
This is where you get into Luigi boards and you
get into your sorcery and your witchcraft. And I'm watching
slasher movies and and I'm immersing myself in darkness and
I'm intrigued with the dark spiritual and you've got to
be careful too that you don't get over obsessing over
angels either to where you're worshiping them, which they every
single time that they were allowed to appear to someone
(01:15:39):
that identify themselves, they say why they're there, and they
always tell people don't worship me, okay, So.
Speaker 4 (01:15:44):
That the bad side is to obsess over it. But
then there's another bad side. I'm so naive about it.
It's like I'm living in the Middle Ages when it
comes to spiritual warfare and I just kind of meander
along and don't even know anything about it. That's bad too,
So I think what you'll find? And there was something
mentioned uh in this, I mean this, this is the
(01:16:05):
word of God about Daniel and his prayer. Uh and
the answer from God being delayed that I never knew
and it really and it shook us all up in
here yesterday. And then when I say shook up, meaning
it was like, wow, I've never seen that before. I
never noticed that before. And I've already even got people
you know, that said, Hey, I got the Bible study,
(01:16:28):
I watched it yesterday or I listened to it. Hey,
we're doing spiritual house cleaning at our house right now,
and here's here's what we're praying over our house. So
and a lot of the things we're seeing in the
up evil in the world and these things that we
tilt our head about.
Speaker 3 (01:16:44):
It's it's demonic, is what it is. That's what it is.
Uh and uh and you'll you'll get I think you'll
get a lot out of it.
Speaker 20 (01:16:51):
I know I did.
Speaker 4 (01:16:52):
And so I would highly suggest if this is something
you'd like to get a little more educated on, uh,
to catch that.
Speaker 3 (01:16:59):
Uh. And it's on our podcat as channeling, our YouTube channel.
Speaker 2 (01:17:02):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 4 (01:17:17):
So we're back at brand new hour. You got the
Rick Burgess Show with Speedy, Greg and Adler all here.
So let's run a few things in a by the way,
person on the text line, Rick, can you confirm this
number of works on your text option?
Speaker 3 (01:17:32):
The answer is yes, I see your text So there
you go.
Speaker 10 (01:17:35):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (01:17:35):
And the other one, Hey, be a man, move him limbs, sir.
We did move them, but we didn't haul them off.
We don't know where they would be hauled off to.
We did move the limbs out of the way that
we're around the door days ago. Uh, but we just
we don't we don't know where you would haul them to.
Speaker 3 (01:17:53):
So thank you for that. So it's coming did you
see the text from the guy who actually is doing it? Yes?
I did, Yeah, he was, Hey, guys, I've been pressure watching.
Don't you know that's miserable in this He's right, yeah,
and that guy is a Hall student. I was thinking,
we just never know the times we're living in. People
are reducing staff so much. I thought maybe they had
(01:18:15):
that that whole operation had been abandoned. You never know.
Speaker 9 (01:18:18):
I thought the funny thing was that turned over ashtray.
That was more that's my favorite pick it up. But anyway,
on all right, so as we start this hour, a
couple of things. We're trying to get spam. We're having
problems with his zoom or something or maybe an unprecedented
spam forgot Yeah, and and.
Speaker 3 (01:18:35):
And that would can you can you do you want
me text you?
Speaker 10 (01:18:38):
No?
Speaker 3 (01:18:38):
I am okay, Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:18:40):
Here, here's some things about about the winter weather concerning
the show, and that is you know, obviously we're going
to be here, uh, and we're trying to figure out
what we need to do. It looks like we're going
to be okay, I think on travel. But but anyway,
some things coming up this weekend.
Speaker 11 (01:18:54):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (01:18:55):
I if it works out, I will be if I
can get if I can travel there. I'll be in
Old Water, Michigan coming up on Saturday, and I can't
wait to be with the Branch County Men of Integrity,
their steakout dinner be there on Saturday night, Lord Willing,
and then on Sunday night. Of course that this is
going to be a part of our state that will
be impacted. But by Sunday maybe okay, we'll see that
(01:19:18):
is going to be First Baptist Church Anderson, Alabama.
Speaker 3 (01:19:20):
That is still on.
Speaker 4 (01:19:21):
They'll make the call on that tomorrow after they kind
of see how they were impacted. And Speedy, of course,
always giving for others, will be deer hunting from Morgan
Academy there in the southern part of Alabama.
Speaker 9 (01:19:35):
And I really think Speedy are fine except for maybe
some rain. Rick, what you're doing in the impact and
then you go, I'm deer hunting. Well, I'm just sound now,
only don't do those in the same day. Don't sell
yourself short because it says you will be speaking Saturday.
Speaker 3 (01:19:48):
Will yeah, So there you go.
Speaker 4 (01:19:49):
It's all important. But it's all important. So do we
have spend he is James, welcome back?
Speaker 3 (01:19:54):
How are you buddy? I'm good. How are you, fellas well?
Speaker 4 (01:19:57):
You know, James, we're Southerners, and you know anytime Southern
folk have winter weather, it's conniptions, not even strong enough word.
Speaker 3 (01:20:07):
So but I know that it's already.
Speaker 4 (01:20:09):
You know, we're talking about the one of the playoff
games may be impacted in Texas because they've got this weather.
It's impacting a much larger group of people than just us.
So kind of give us the latest on this winter storm.
Speaker 23 (01:20:22):
So the broad view, you've got winter weather problems all
the way from North Texas into Arkansas, Missouri, Louisiana today
and tonight. Then it moves into parts of the mid
South tomorrow and late tonight. So we have winter store
Mornings in effect. Dallas Fort Worth under a winter storm morning,
I'm not so sure they see that much snow. They
might see more, hes right, And the winter Store Mornings
(01:20:44):
cover basically all of Arkansas and the parts of West
and Middle Tennessee, North Mississippi, North Alabama, parts of Kentucky.
And it's gonna be pretty messy, fellas in the and understand,
the one thing we need to remind people when you
think of a winter storm, most people think of what snow,
But understand, in a lot of winter storms, you're going
to wind up with more sleet and freezing rain than snow.
(01:21:09):
And I think for a lot of people listening to
us that might be the case, especially on the southern
extent of this. And people think, well, we only get
a little dusting of snow, it's no big deal. But
when you've got a tenth of an inch of ice,
that can glaze everything. Everything with ice, including roads, And
I've seen it over and over and over again where
(01:21:30):
just a little glaze can create some really nasty conditions.
So if you're under a winter storm morning, just be
aware that you could very well have some driving issues today. Again,
this is for northeastern Texas, Arkansas, places like that, and
then tonight and tomorrow and departs of Tennessee, North Mississippi,
and North Alabama. This in terms of getting a good snow,
(01:21:52):
I think the better chance of that happening will be
Arkansas and Tennessee. In extreme North Mississippi and North Alaba.
As you get a little farther to the south, south
of the Tennessee River, you'll have a lot more sleet
and snow. In the sleet and freezing rain in the
mix tomorrow morning. So for those listening it to us
in North Alabama, the biggest issue is going to be
(01:22:13):
tomorrow morning and then the complicating factor during the day tomorrow,
we'll see kind of a warm nose coming in from
the south and that wintry mix will change over to
a simple cold rain during the midday and afternoon hours
for a lot of people in North Mississippi and North Alabama,
and hopefully that will ease the icy travel to some degree.
But still tomorrow morning, fellas, it'll be a kind of messy.
(01:22:35):
A good look on driving into work tomorrow.
Speaker 4 (01:22:38):
Well, you know, we don't have far to go, thankfully,
and Greg's going to stay in town, so you know,
once we get here, it sounds like by the time
we all we can just wade out and get better
driving conditions to go home.
Speaker 3 (01:22:51):
That is that accurate? Yeah, you know, you're right.
Speaker 23 (01:22:55):
I think by where you are in Birmingham tomorrow afternoon
should be much better. The problem, this mess for the
Birmingham Metro will probably start about one, two, three a m.
And by four or five am, all the bridges could
be very, very very icy, right and some of the
blacktop roads could be very icy. And you might be
(01:23:17):
good at it, Rick, but you don't know about the
knucklehead next to you. Are they good at it? Are
they gonna slam on their brakes and spin out and
cause some problems? So the problems in Huntsville, Birmingham beginning
during the pre dawn hours. Memphis, their problems begin tonight
again down into North Mississippi, then moving into West Tennessee
and North Alabama.
Speaker 4 (01:23:38):
Yeah, and you know we talk about the playoffs. Speedy
was telling me the game in Texas. They're thinking it
could be impacted because it's already in Texas now, So
have you got any indication on that at all?
Speaker 3 (01:23:51):
Yeah?
Speaker 23 (01:23:51):
So for Dallas Fort Worth again, we've got freezing rain
breaking out now west of Fort Worth, out toward Abilene
and downtown at San Angelo, Texas. This is west of
Dallas Fort Worth and that will be expanding and coming
into Dallas tonight. And again I think they might see
an inch or two of snow, but the greater concern
they're gonna see more sleet and some freezing rain. And again,
(01:24:14):
a long time ago, I was the chief meteorologist for
the CBS station in Dallas, and I know the market
pretty well and it's typical southern market. It gets icy
really fast, and with the traffic and everything out there,
it could be a pretty big mess. Now they treated
the roads, but still they're under a winter storm morning,
so Dallas Fort Worth they'll see increasing amounts of sleet, snow,
(01:24:36):
and some freezing rain this afternoon at tonight with the
system moving out tomorrow morning. But the game is tonight, right,
when's the game? The games tomorrow night? But they were tarring, yes, sir,
the Penn State Notre Dame games tonight and then the
Ohio State Texas game is in Arlington tomorrow night. And
they were just talking about the folks that are in
(01:24:57):
charge of the roads and all that it could impact
and delay the game, but they're not sure. Yeah, And again,
even though it's going to be long gone by tomorrow night,
they could still have some lingering ice problems with you know,
low and mid thirties all day tomorrow. So hopefully they'll
have about twenty four hours to see if they can
(01:25:17):
get those roads improved, and I think they will.
Speaker 3 (01:25:19):
I think they'll be able to get the game in
on time.
Speaker 23 (01:25:21):
I don't see a reason for them to delay the
game unless there's just some massive traffic incidents where people
just can't get there.
Speaker 3 (01:25:28):
Well, you know, and that's always an issue.
Speaker 4 (01:25:30):
You mentioned that even back, and I hate to bring
this up, James, so pardon me, but snow mcgeddon and
we were live on the air and that ended up
turning into road conditions that happened pretty quick, and it
was ice that was the problem. And I remember being
in a vehicle that really could get all the way
about a twenty minute normal ride home with no problem.
(01:25:53):
But it's the people that did have a problem that
then blocked me from being able to get home. Not
the conditions because the truck was handling those fine, but
other vehicles that couldn't handle it now are blocking the
way for others. So you're saying only something like that
might be an issue, right and again snow and again
that was a flash freeze. Yeah, goodness, that's a that
(01:26:15):
was an odd situation. It really was my eyes twitching
right now.
Speaker 3 (01:26:20):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 23 (01:26:22):
That we did not expect to flash freeze that was
not on the radar. Temperatures were in the teens and
the snow came down, the snow melted turned to ice immediately,
and it was horrible.
Speaker 3 (01:26:32):
But this is not the same.
Speaker 23 (01:26:35):
No, no, but still I understand they are going to
have sleet snow in some freezing rain and the Dallas
Fort Worth area later today and tonight.
Speaker 3 (01:26:43):
And uh, I guess it's a good thing the game's
not tonight.
Speaker 23 (01:26:46):
The fact that you got about twenty four hours after
it gets out of there to see how things improve.
So hopefully that won't be a disruption for our friends
in Dallas. But but again for the snow lovers here,
just if you really want a good snow, I think
Arkansas West and nod Tennessee that that's your.
Speaker 3 (01:27:02):
Better opportunities right there.
Speaker 23 (01:27:03):
As you get down into North Mississippi and North Alabama,
it's more sleet, little ice pellets and freezing rain. It's
liquid when it's below freezing, which again could create some
horrible driving condition year, but it's not as pretty.
Speaker 4 (01:27:14):
Yeah, we have a lot of listeners in Arkansas. They've
been sending me their maps. Wow, they're in, they're in
for some fun.
Speaker 23 (01:27:21):
Yeah, it's this gonna be a good snow for Arkansas.
Over toward Memphis. Memphis ought to get several inches, maybe
five inches or more from this thing. It'll be a
good snow for the mid south and again this will
be a very photogenic snow for them.
Speaker 6 (01:27:34):
It'll be good.
Speaker 4 (01:27:35):
Yeah, And I'm talking to you know, we talked to
you about our travel. I've got to go to Cowater, Michigan,
and I'm flying privately on Saturday. But again the pilots saying, well,
unless we have runway trouble or stuff like that, that's
still lingering. I think the path there, as you said,
looks pretty good. And then I'm supposed to be in
North Alabama on Sunday night, and you still feel like
(01:27:57):
Sunday night really shouldn't be a problem.
Speaker 23 (01:27:58):
Yeah, I really think. First off air travel to Michigan,
I think you're fine. I see no issues with that.
And the Sunday night. By Sunday afternoon, bright sun, temperatures
in the forties, any lingering ice over the Tennessee Valley
early Sunday morning should go away pretty quickly, so Sunday
evenings should be a okay.
Speaker 3 (01:28:18):
Thank you, James, appreciate you very much. Hang in there
every day.
Speaker 10 (01:28:21):
I know this is.
Speaker 4 (01:28:24):
It's hopefully not near as dangerous to some of the
things you deal with, but boy brings a lot a
lot of uncertainty on what's going to happen when and
where so and I know we all want certainty, but
thank you for giving us as still detailed an update
as you possibly can.
Speaker 6 (01:28:39):
Right now.
Speaker 3 (01:28:40):
We'll be back more than Rick Burger's show coming out.
Speaker 2 (01:28:43):

(01:29:05):
broadcasting from the world. It's the rig Show.

that'll be in Birmingham. Granger Smith will be there also,
he'll be on the show tomorrow. We'll have Hugh Freeze
will be speaking. He'll be on the show next week.
Speaker 3 (01:29:46):
He'll be there.
Speaker 4 (01:29:47):
George Wright will be speaking pastor there in Birmingham at
Shades Mountin Baptist Church. Andy Blanks will be speaking, I'll
be speaking, Chuck Hooton, we'll be doing the worship. Greg
Speedy Adler all will be there. And if you would
like to be with us at that conference, you can
get your tickets now. Are either in Panama City, which
happens in February, about a month later, and then about
(01:30:08):
two weeks later, maybe no a week later, it will
be in Atlanta, So check all those at Themanchurch dot com.
And if you want to bring a group, we just
offered a discount for groups ten or more. It gets
you ten dollars off per ticket, so it'll do that
automatically when you hit ten or exceed it. So we
look forward to seeing all of you. We got some
(01:30:28):
new resources. I've got a resource and that I am
so excited about and I can't talk about it, so
this keeps you. I got this thing that I did
yesterday I can't talk about yet. I've got this thing
we've been working on that's going to be coming out.
It will first be available at the conferences, but then
(01:30:49):
we'll kind of really be talking about it, Lord Willing
when it goes out nationally coming up in the spring.
Speaker 3 (01:30:55):
But really really excited about it.
Speaker 4 (01:30:57):
It was a project that was personal and close to
to all of us, and uh it is finished, and
uh it I'm looking forward to being able to share
it with all of you and if you come to
the conference, then you'll you'll get a you'll get an
access to it first.
Speaker 3 (01:31:12):
All right, So let's let's talk about a couple of things.
Speaker 22 (01:31:15):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (01:31:16):
This is going to own y'all by the way.
Speaker 2 (01:31:18):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (01:31:18):
So you know, we just do the dog on best
we can and we've we've had so many misspeaks and
and fumbles and things and things we get wrong. We
even talked about this week when you thought that the
Organization for People with Disabilities was the organization for people
with with with diabetes and we had that wrong. Uh,
you know, we we've had a couple of those over
(01:31:39):
over the years. Well I've done another one, okay, and
this I have yes and y'all are y'all are going
to to to love this.
Speaker 3 (01:31:47):
So all right, so here we go.
Speaker 19 (01:31:52):
We we are.
Speaker 4 (01:31:53):
You know, there's there's enough of the old, but then
there's a freshness of the new. And so one one
of the things we did, you know, we we have
a store now with with new swag. And as we
talked about, uh, we've got a new group that we're
working with and they're doing a great job.
Speaker 3 (01:32:09):
You know.
Speaker 4 (01:32:10):
We we we had a little fun with the opening day.
The automatic opening of the store didn't work, but they
fixed it really quick, and they've really been hustling. And
you know, sometimes when you've been doing something as long
as we had been doing it, you need to get
fresh eyes on something.
Speaker 3 (01:32:23):
Do you already know where this is going? You got
to get fresh eyes on something.
Speaker 5 (01:32:27):
And so.
Speaker 4 (01:32:30):
So, and I love when people approach you in the
right way. You know, if a lot of us sitting
here right now, like when you when you watch the text, okay,
it's it is, uh, you know, they'll just they'll just
rip you the shreds. Okay, you know chat rooms they'll
just rip you the shreds, you know, and those comments
(01:32:51):
on social media that they'll just shred you, just go
after you personally and all this and unfortunately work people
who are not quite stable into dangerous, uh you know responses.
But but anyway, so but then there's people that approach
you in that kind way. I'd just like to give
you just a little soft correction. And I give credit
(01:33:13):
to the new people running the store. They didn't do it, Okay,
it was actually someone who listens to the show. For
some reason, I got in my head and Greg, this
is not going to surprise you or my wife at all,
or any of the guys that have worked with me
for all these years. I got in my head that
the new group was called Feed the Nations, okay, and
(01:33:34):
I kept saying that we're working with Feed the Nations
and uh and that they had passionately talking about feed
the Nations. And they don't miss this part. This is
the part that makes it even better. This is a
bunch I've been working with, you know for the last
four years. I really knowing a lot about, you know,
with the Man Church and Burgess Ministries and uh yeah,
(01:33:56):
very great, very very familiar with them and love the
work they do. Now giving myself a little bit of
a little bit of a break there, all the merchandise
that has involved the curriculum, the devotionals, the shirts, the hats,
I'm not that involved in that. When it comes to
the Man Church, Ironhill Press is they're the ones who
(01:34:18):
have a real relationship with what I was calling Feed
the Nations and and so so I knew them through
through another party. This is the first time I've been
interacting with them directly without your time.
Speaker 3 (01:34:33):
Okay. So the guy, the guy familiar with this, the
guy says, hey, Rick, love to show love you guys.
Speaker 4 (01:34:41):
Thank you, it's very kind, he said. I actually know
this group very well and have worked with them and
actually live close to their facility, and so I know
what I'm doing. I'm pretty sure it's Fund the Nations,
not Feed the Nation. So you were going to feed Yes,
those are I have been cranking out Feed the Nations.
(01:35:02):
I love this relationship with Feed the Nation. How many
people are googling feed the Nation? Don't now, don't miss this.
Every single email they send me, every single one of them.
Speaker 3 (01:35:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:35:12):
Uh, and I even get an alert every time somebody
orders something, all say fund the Nations, every one of them.
There haven't been a Feed the Nations. And uh and
of course, just somehow I locked in that it's that
it was Feed the Nations. So I want to apologize
to our new partners Fund Nations.
Speaker 3 (01:35:31):
Fine, fine, Funding Nation. Uh so sorry about that. There
is a Feed the Nations, by the way, I bet
there is. I bet they're not doing our merchandise. Thought,
No they're not.
Speaker 8 (01:35:40):
What about the Human Fund?
Speaker 3 (01:35:42):
No, that's not them. Eight eight eight six, big box
We go phone calls. Next we talk to America. We've
covered a lot. What say you, what's taught you after this?
Speaker 2 (01:35:52):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. Okay, are you ready
to bring something to the table?
Speaker 13 (01:36:10):
Cool?
Speaker 2 (01:36:10):
No, and get on the show. What eight eight eight
six eight Fox?
Speaker 3 (01:36:18):
All Right?
Speaker 22 (01:36:18):
You ready?
Speaker 4 (01:36:19):
Greg's taking phones. Remember it's not the moment for you
to hang out with Greg. Hey, Greg, it's time for
him to get you set up.
Speaker 3 (01:36:28):
Ready to go?
Speaker 5 (01:36:29):
Now.
Speaker 4 (01:36:29):
We talked about a lot, you know, we talked about
the depths of spiritual warfare. We've talked about James Woods
Lis By the way, some of the stuff y'all been
sending us on the text line about your experience with
spiritual warfare. Wow, check that on the Wednesday Bible study.
Thanks for that stuff.
Speaker 3 (01:36:46):
By the way. You can talk about that. You can
ask questions about that.
Speaker 4 (01:36:50):
You can talk about the stuff that we've updated involving
the California fires. James Span of course, gave us a
winter storm update. You know, yesterday we talked about you know,
Trump saying that, you know, being serious that we made
by Greenland.
Speaker 3 (01:37:04):
To me, that was interesting.
Speaker 4 (01:37:06):
But really, whatever is on your mind, you have a
question you want to ask, you can do that too.
The numbers eight eight eight six Big Vox. Let's get started.
Let's start with Cliff in Mississippi. Cliff, Welcome to the
Rick Burgers Show.
Speaker 19 (01:37:17):
Go ahead, Hey Rick, Thanks man, how are you doing?
Speaker 3 (01:37:21):
Good? Good? Good?
Speaker 20 (01:37:23):
Listen man, We're so excited.
Speaker 19 (01:37:25):
I'm so glad to have you guys back on the air.
Speaker 22 (01:37:27):
Everybody's been so so thrilled and no waiting on y'all
to come back.
Speaker 3 (01:37:31):
Thank you.
Speaker 5 (01:37:32):
But I got a question.
Speaker 24 (01:37:33):
What do you think the over under as before Greg
tanks this year?
Speaker 4 (01:37:41):
Well, let me tell you something. So he he was
with the Rick and Bubba Show sixteen years before he
tanked it. Look at my age, at my age, I'll
take sixteen. My goodness, I'll be seventy six years old.
Speaker 3 (01:37:52):
I think I'm mind I retire both of it. Yeah,
there you go. So that's funny. Thanks Cliff. Let's go
to I'm sure what this means here is it? Jeffy? Hey, Jeffy,
Welcome to the Rick Burger Show. Go ahead.
Speaker 22 (01:38:08):
Hey guys, Hey, I said speedy and email. I was wondering,
I am auditioning for America's Got Talent, doing it virtually
from here in the Wiregrass area. Wow, I'm going to
be on as a comedian. The last time I called
(01:38:29):
in was the condos or Rice is the new Chuck
Norris bit.
Speaker 3 (01:38:35):
Okay, I don't remember that, Jeffy. But now look, you
realize you are.
Speaker 4 (01:38:39):
You're taking on the number one hardest thing in the
entertainment business, stand up comedy.
Speaker 3 (01:38:46):
There's nothing more difficult. Yeah.
Speaker 22 (01:38:51):
Yes, I've got a lot of opinions from the guys
that I've sat online with, and hands down, they all
said stand up comedian.
Speaker 3 (01:38:59):
So you think you got it?
Speaker 14 (01:39:00):
Have you?
Speaker 4 (01:39:01):
Would you like to maybe try something right now? Nothing
real long? Do you have something you could throw out
right now?
Speaker 13 (01:39:08):
Well?
Speaker 22 (01:39:08):
My material is going to be based on the question
what if Siri had a breaking point?
Speaker 19 (01:39:14):
And what would that look like?
Speaker 3 (01:39:16):
Give me an example?
Speaker 22 (01:39:19):
Okay, all right, here we go.
Speaker 3 (01:39:26):
All right? Than Greg.
Speaker 22 (01:39:30):
H all right, so calls Apple technical sport. It says,
y'all need to stop this foolishness. You know, I identify
as a binary female and I have the biggest sexual
harassment claim in the world, and y'all did not include
(01:39:54):
me in the Me too movement? Where's my money?
Speaker 8 (01:39:59):
I He's gonna win.
Speaker 4 (01:40:03):
This is the first time that I felt myself almost
asking Speedy does he need me to hold him.
Speaker 3 (01:40:10):
You are you going to run?
Speaker 9 (01:40:11):
I'm telling you my left eyes started twitching. Try another one, Jeffy,
He's going for some reason.
Speaker 3 (01:40:18):
I now I like the pain. Okay, are you starting
to become like Greg? No? I just wanted one more
to see if it got better. Okay, are you okay
in there?
Speaker 5 (01:40:25):
Yeah?
Speaker 17 (01:40:26):
I thought it was good.
Speaker 9 (01:40:27):
I seriously, I don't know what to do because I
couldn't leave. See if the other mic I could slide out.
Speaker 3 (01:40:32):
I'm just stuck all right. As you can imagine, the
texting line.
Speaker 9 (01:40:38):
Not going well, Andy Blanks, No, no, Lie, he has
sent six messages since that first started.
Speaker 5 (01:40:46):
And.
Speaker 3 (01:40:47):
You were so he didn't make it do oh boy,
I'm dying rising they can stopped. I'm all right, let's go.
Let's go to pay shunts patience, Welcome to the show.
Go ahead, Well what is that? What is all that?
(01:41:09):
There's multiples?
Speaker 15 (01:41:12):
Is multiple kids trying to do the mate in color.
Speaker 3 (01:41:16):
Oh that's funny, but I was calling to see we.
Speaker 15 (01:41:20):
Actually use that in our whole household.
Speaker 25 (01:41:22):
Now do that check in with kids?
Speaker 3 (01:41:25):
Good?
Speaker 25 (01:41:26):
But I was warning.
Speaker 15 (01:41:27):
Rick shared his fortune owing recipe a while back, and
so I was home and my husband had text me
and he's like, I've got dinner covered, and I was like, fantastic,
And so we.
Speaker 25 (01:41:37):
Have this awesome meal. And then the next day I'm
listening to the podcast and I texted him and I'm like,
I see what you did there. So I just need
Rick to share another awesome recipe so that my husband
will come home and cook for me again.
Speaker 4 (01:41:51):
You know what, you know, I don't have the tender
Lord recipe. You're right, okay, so thank you, patience. Well,
i'll do that. I did get from Lisa, Greg's wife.
She did send me a coffee punch recipe and I'm
gonna send it on to the website people, so that
one should be coming up probably next week, so and
I'll go back.
Speaker 3 (01:42:09):
I'll put the Tenda Win stuff together. It's pretty straightforward.
I'll do that.
Speaker 9 (01:42:12):
That's a good suggestion, overwhelming on text. They won't poor Jeffy.
That's that's gonna be a poor Jeffy to be a
reoccurring character.
Speaker 3 (01:42:20):
I totally agree. Jeffy. You call us every day if
you need to. Yeah, okay, until we burn on it
because we're not there yet. Uh let's go to Florida.
Speaker 8 (01:42:29):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (01:42:29):
It literally says Santa is. This is this Santa it is? Okay?
Speaker 20 (01:42:35):
Hey, Heyboddy, I loved the podcast last night, by the way.
Speaker 3 (01:42:40):
Oh yeah, the Wednesday Bible Study. Correct. Yeah.
Speaker 20 (01:42:43):
Correct. So two things. One, my very first pastor, which
you're talking early nineties, I had a several people, actually
I don't know how that happened, but they came into
the church and they started talking about talking to their angels,
their guard angel. They could see them, and they said,
and apparently there was a book out talking about trying
(01:43:06):
to find out your angel's name. And I just said, no, no, no,
you're talking danger.
Speaker 22 (01:43:12):
First.
Speaker 20 (01:43:12):
First of all, God's angels aren't doing that, correct. Satan
is an imitator of God, so you know, wrong side.
But then my dad had taught me and I actually
have a book in my library which when he gave me,
he said, guard this with your life. Satan has tried
to destroy this book for years and years and years.
And one of the things I found out, I'm sure
(01:43:34):
you know, if you're going to study spiritual warfare, Satan
will come after you with everything he's got, and he'll
especially attack your loved ones because you may be prayed
up and stayed up, but they may not be.
Speaker 4 (01:43:47):
Well, and you and you hit on that's the reason
why we stopped. During the Rick and Bubby years, you
may have heard us talk about this. We stopped doing
the Thirteen Working Days of Horror because at one point
when I, because I was I was so new to
the faith in I really didn't have enough spiritual maturity
to even discern that. But once I started discerning it,
it hit me what you just said. And I'm not
(01:44:09):
speaking ill of any of the people on team. On
the team at that time, we were all at different
places in our spiritual growth and even I think now
even as have been admitted, even our justification. And so
we had people we were sending out and people started
wanting to go with Speedy that I couldn't vouch for spiritually,
and I was like, we may be safe, but we're
(01:44:30):
putting these people in incredible danger. And some of it
wasn't demonic, some of it was just silly stuff. Boy,
but we started encountering true demonic stuff. And you know
you've been there. We've all anytime. We know, even in
our house, Sherry and I talk about this all the time.
We've tried to become really spiritually aware of it. If
(01:44:51):
we know that both of us or one of us
is about to go do something that's going to have
impact for the Kingdom of God, we already know that
there's going to be an attack over the forty eight
hours before it just every single time, and so we've
gotten where we're kind of look for it, you know.
And but you're right, you need to also understand that,
(01:45:12):
you know, because you heard me reference last night one
of the two troubling things from that study yesterday.
Speaker 3 (01:45:17):
One of them we've referred to a lot. The one
we refer to a lot is Acts chapter nineteen.
Speaker 4 (01:45:22):
I mean that that, hey, that's a that's a head
scratcher right there, because it makes your point, Pastor that
we've got these seven sons of this Pharisee. They think
they're just going to use the name of Jesus and
cast out a demon like Paul does. And when they
bring up Jesus, the demon says, y'all don't y'all don't
belong to Jesus. I'm paraphrasing, but they says Jesus. I
(01:45:43):
know which we need to make that note. Paul, I
recognize I don't know you you may be using the
name of Jesus. But because you don't belong to Jesus
in your hands, that name doesn't mean anything. And we
know they and they attacked them. So and then the
other thing was what did you think about I'm sure
you are he knew it. I had never really put
together Daniel being told by we think Gabriel, but we
(01:46:06):
know it was a herald angel whoever it was being told.
I've been trying to get this message you for three weeks.
But the demon that is running Persia right now was
so powerful I could I couldn't beat him until Michael
came to help me.
Speaker 3 (01:46:20):
Then we beat him. And that's why I'm late. Could
you could you believe that?
Speaker 10 (01:46:24):
Oh?
Speaker 20 (01:46:24):
Yeah, no, that's and then you tie back to tied it.
Speaker 22 (01:46:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 20 (01:46:28):
And it's just crazy how you know? And people so
underestimate Statan's power and think that it's like a big game.
Speaker 19 (01:46:38):
Uh.
Speaker 20 (01:46:38):
That's why I say spiritual warfare is so dangerous. You've
got to be prayed up, stayed up, and ready, and
if you're not, your family's not be very careful what
you're about to open.
Speaker 3 (01:46:47):
Amen.
Speaker 9 (01:46:48):
Thank you, I appreciate the call. Thanks for the kind words. Uh,
I'm sorry to be Greg here. That was a very
powerful call. But were you talking to Santa?
Speaker 3 (01:46:56):
Well at first?
Speaker 4 (01:46:57):
And you know, I worried that Greg didn't type it
right because I thought, if you're gonna talk about the
Wednesday Bible study, is this now Satan calling? But it
was actually he went by Santa.
Speaker 9 (01:47:08):
Very good content. But the only thing I could think
of you were talking to Santa the whole time. Well,
I guess that is Saint Nick. Is he maybe he's
a Santa Help? I don't know, but you are right, Sweede,
You are right.
Speaker 4 (01:47:23):
We'll come back. We'll take more of your phone calls.
Good phone segment turning right now, so we'll take more
of those. We come back eight eight eight six, Big box.
A lot of you still on hold, and I see
some good topics. So if you're there, if you get
ahole a little longer, we'll take your call. If you'd
like to join us now you can't.
Speaker 3 (01:47:40):
We'll be right back.
Speaker 2 (01:47:42):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. Get on the show.

to continue to make a few more than we come back.
And one of the callers. You may send us in
this direction, but if not, we're definitely going to talk
about it.
Speaker 3 (01:48:13):
Coming up next hour. More things we're considering.
Speaker 2 (01:48:22):
We're good.
Speaker 4 (01:48:22):
Okay, Speedy was giving me a signal there, So if
you want to get in right now, I'm a little say.
Speaker 3 (01:48:28):

little bit here MyPillow dot com slash big Box. Let
me tell you something.
Speaker 4 (01:48:35):
The folks at my Pillow their partnership means so much
because I know that we're pointing you to a company
where you don't have to be concerned about.
Speaker 3 (01:48:44):
You know where they stand. And why am I giving
money to this company?
Speaker 4 (01:48:48):
I mean, the wok left have tried to take Mitt
Lindell's company and destroy it so many times, retailers kicking
them out like they're making some stand, and all they've
done is just lost that revenue because we just simply
go to the.
Speaker 3 (01:49:00):

think it's just the Adler talked about. I think for
people who like to hear and watch people eat.
Speaker 3 (01:50:08):
Was it like munk pie or something like that, Yes,
it was the people who like to watch people eat.
Speaker 8 (01:50:13):
Yeah, muck bang. Don't google it?
Speaker 4 (01:50:15):
Yeah, please please don't. Okay, Yeah, the spelling the spelling's
never been more crucial.
Speaker 19 (01:50:22):
Okay, So what I was thinking was, you know, new show,
New Year, wanting to try something new, is why don't
we use that as like one of the shout outs.
You have somebody calling and like kamakazi, yell it, and
all y'all just start smacking.
Speaker 3 (01:50:35):
So you're saying someone somebody, what's the word?
Speaker 8 (01:50:39):
What's the word?
Speaker 3 (01:50:39):
Again? Adler?
Speaker 8 (01:50:40):
I don't know if we should keep saying it. It's
muck bang, but I don't think we should say that.
Speaker 20 (01:50:45):
All right, so let's practice it.
Speaker 19 (01:50:47):
Let's practice it, okay, all right, okay, right, monk bang.
Speaker 4 (01:50:51):
And at that point we would just start eating whatever
we have right in the camera.
Speaker 19 (01:50:56):
Didn't do that, or just start smacking your lips whatever.
Speaker 8 (01:50:58):
I don't know what people food here. Here's some muck
bang for you sickies out there. It's good, it's good, perfect, great.
Speaker 3 (01:51:08):
I don't know about that.
Speaker 8 (01:51:12):
Book anything for the show, you know, that's right, right?
Speaker 4 (01:51:15):
Yeah, if y'all want us to eat, uh, let's go
to Anna out of Birmingham, Alabama.
Speaker 3 (01:51:20):
Ana. Welcome to the rick Burgers Show. Go ahead, good morning, guys.
Speaker 20 (01:51:25):
I know y'all had talked about the fires in La
And you know, I wouldn't wish that on anybody.
Speaker 19 (01:51:30):
And there's a lot of evil in La.
Speaker 15 (01:51:32):
Well, Hunter Biden's Malibu home burned down last.
Speaker 3 (01:51:36):
Night, did it really? I hope he got his stash
he did. I bet that thing. I bet. I bet
with everything's in that house, it'll burn for a month.
He threw his laptop into it.
Speaker 8 (01:51:48):
They said ghosts were coming out of the acids, just.
Speaker 3 (01:51:51):
Flying in and man, all right, is this Jeffy the
comedian again? Speedy?
Speaker 4 (01:51:56):
Is this Jeffy the Comedian? No, it's Jeffrey Jeffrey. Okay,
Jeffrey con how are you go ahead?
Speaker 19 (01:52:04):
I'm not Jeffrey.
Speaker 20 (01:52:05):
I'm actually funny.
Speaker 3 (01:52:07):
Wow. Look he's trying, man, look stand up? Comedy? Is
I told him? Did you not hear me warn him? Jeffrey?
I say it's the most difficult thing in the entertainment business.
He needs to call back. I think we keep working.
Wouldn't you like to hear Jeffy do more than one joke? Yes? Okay,
(01:52:29):
all right, thank you.
Speaker 22 (01:52:30):
Jeff I think he's got a shot winning the whole
thing if.
Speaker 3 (01:52:34):
He plays his card.
Speaker 8 (01:52:35):
I want to hear his whole set.
Speaker 3 (01:52:37):
Yeah, you know, Jeffrey. Yes, you know who you are.
I know you are, and you're very Greg like. I
don't even have to ask you. You're a Greg manyon,
aren't you. Yes, so you're the kind of guy if
somebody can't sing, I'm talking about horrible. You had been
the one telling William Hung absolutely you sound great. Yes, yes,
(01:52:58):
I like this guy. Let's go if you want to
join us. Lines are opening up speed he's taking them
eight eight eight six big vox. Scott out of Louisville, Mississippi. Scott,

Speaker 5 (01:53:14):
Hope y'all are doing good today. I've got a new
I've got a new nickname for myself. I am the
the DJ formerly known as Scotty G from Louisville. I
had a radio show Lituisville, Mississippi for twenty five years.
Speaker 22 (01:53:29):
I had to put up with a couple of.
Speaker 5 (01:53:31):
Your former callers.
Speaker 3 (01:53:34):
I know who it is.
Speaker 5 (01:53:35):
Oh yeah, yeah, you know where you know where I'm
going with this anyway, I want.
Speaker 10 (01:53:39):
I want to tell you I really love the show.
It's great.
Speaker 5 (01:53:42):
I was worried because see I had I had a
radio a couple of years ago, just so I could
stay home and watch y'all on YouTube what I'm saying.
Speaker 22 (01:53:52):
And then I got I got really nervous.
Speaker 5 (01:53:54):
But just to let you know, I really like the
idea of the munck bang heil, and I just should
yelled that out so I can see you guys.
Speaker 3 (01:54:03):
Eat, I've already finished my breakfast. I've got to go
get some crackers or something.
Speaker 5 (01:54:09):
Him. You know, have to keep a box of doughnuts,
candy or something right there by you. But uh, I
may actually headed the mythics this morning, and I said,
I have got to call in because one of the
most extraordinary things happened yesterday in a local nursing home.
Speaker 2 (01:54:25):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (01:54:26):
You know, President Biden's on his way, you know, on
his farewell tour, we might as well say. And he
actually stopped into one of our local nursing homes yesterday
and he walked in and he wasn't really reading that warmly,
but there was a little denner sweet lady sitting there
one of the chairs on the on the front porch
(01:54:47):
of the nursing home. And he knelt down in her
looked at her and he said, ma'am, do you know
who I am? And she said, oh, honey, I'm so sorry.
If you go in and see one of the nurses,
maybe they can tell.
Speaker 4 (01:55:00):
Yeah, it's got that a little bit of a long
way home. But the setup was fantastic, really really good.
Speaker 3 (01:55:09):
And thank you so much for your kind words, and
thank you.
Speaker 8 (01:55:12):
For saying Mark Bank's toasted so buttery.
Speaker 3 (01:55:19):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (01:55:19):
Also, people are saying the first time they ever heard
this word used that. John Reep talked about it on
his podcast.
Speaker 8 (01:55:27):
Okay, don't google it.
Speaker 3 (01:55:28):
I'm telling you don't google it as you I think
you are doing the show. Didn't you bring this to
the show?
Speaker 8 (01:55:34):
Y'all? Were the ones talking about?

Uh.
Speaker 4 (01:56:48):
And you know when people come here, there's gonna be
a lot of things to experience, including well, we'll let
somebody randomly.
Speaker 3 (01:56:54):
Spill me spill. I hope you don't spill.
Speaker 4 (01:56:57):
You to spin the wheel of bundles bits and and
you could win money, you could win swag or just
force us to do some sort a bit. All those
things are on there, all right, So speedy, you've got
the control on the text line, don't you.
Speaker 3 (01:57:12):
Yeah? Okay, And I know this microphone in the way.
I'm gonna put it down. Okay, he's going over, he's
pulling that down.
Speaker 1 (01:57:19):
Is that all right?
Speaker 3 (01:57:21):
Yeah? Is that okay?
Speaker 11 (01:57:23):
Ed?
Speaker 3 (01:57:24):
Just for a minute, all right? So on the text top, happy,
I'm gonna put it back. I'm gonna put it back.
Speaker 4 (01:57:30):
All right, So on the text option, come on down,
come on down, come on down, coming in somebody. I
think somebody on the text option was asking us to
do a shout out. Here it is coming down, but
they don't tell us who it is.
Speaker 3 (01:57:46):
It says. It says, good morning and greetings from South Florida.
I love the show. Thank you. I need a huge favor.
My daughter turns eighteen and look where it says. It's
not even here yet January seven, venteenth, and I was
hoping twenty seventh.
Speaker 4 (01:58:02):
What did I just say, seventeenth, twenty seventh. By the way,
love Feed the Nations. I'm sure they're a fine operation.
Arts is just fund the Nations the twenty seventh, and
I was hoping to give her a shout out on
the radio. She lives in Harvest, Alabama. First of all,
it's the twenty seventh of January. There's no way we'll
ever remember that. The other is her name isn't in there.
(01:58:24):
We don't even know who to give the gun. Yeah,
and so is it up here anywhere now? I don't think.
By the way, we're also learning a lot of if
you can have Jeffy a comedian, Jeffy A.
Speaker 3 (01:58:36):
Lot of that there.
Speaker 4 (01:58:39):
So, but but we now have an email that says
that that we think Greg, it's possible, just possible, that
you may have misunderstood him. And his name is actually
Jesse Jeffy, not Jeffy, because I don't know a lot
of people named Jeffy. You know, I know that choosy,
mother's true, choose Jeffy. But I've never Our jiff was
(01:59:02):
jiff and Jeffy two different peanut butters.
Speaker 3 (01:59:04):
Do we have a Jiffy too? Well, you know what,
I think Jeffy is a better stage and I agree.
How you know nicknames are created.
Speaker 7 (01:59:14):
Oh that's a big Mandela thing, Rick, the Jiffy peanut
butter Mandela effect. Like everybody says, okay, it's one of
those things, like I swear it existed.
Speaker 4 (01:59:23):
Yeah, okay, got you. But I knew jeff but that
our mother we went back and forth, my mother. We
started out as a Peter Pan family, and then Mom
one day brought home jeff and I'm sorry, jeff is
just the best.
Speaker 11 (01:59:35):
It is.
Speaker 3 (01:59:36):
It's the only Yeah.
Speaker 9 (01:59:38):
Well he had said during his his routine when he
called in his joke, so I didn't get to hear
that he had he had emailed me, and I was like, well,
that's weird. I don't remember seeing an email from Jeffy.
So I go back through and maybe I missed it,
and sure enough I did yesterday, but it was from
a Jesse okay, and he says that I'm you know,
I'm a comedian. He talks about kind of Lee's the
(01:59:59):
Rise and just a comedian. Yes apparently, yeah, and so,
but I think Jesse ruins it. It's got to be Jeffy.
Speaker 3 (02:00:09):
I think Jeffrey better stage and jeff Jesse.
Speaker 4 (02:00:12):
If that is your name, we're changing it. I really
think you're funnier if you're Jeffy.
Speaker 8 (02:00:17):
Absolute.
Speaker 9 (02:00:18):
Now he never corrected us because we were saying Jeffy,
but maybe he came across to Jesse and now it
could be that this is Jesse, but he goes by
Jeffy on the on stage.
Speaker 3 (02:00:27):
I have no idea. What do you think the odds
are that we have two people that are aspiring comedians. No,
we don't know that.
Speaker 5 (02:00:34):
Now.
Speaker 9 (02:00:34):
He did leave his phone number and I really want
to call it. Uh and and because he said I'd
love to come on and show more blah blah blah,
please can we call him.
Speaker 3 (02:00:44):
You mean I can go in there and call let's
call him, you got you gotta.
Speaker 8 (02:00:48):
Call it, and to convince him to call himself Jeffy.
Speaker 3 (02:00:51):
Yeah, and keep that delivery. And and I think he's
got him a character.
Speaker 4 (02:00:54):
By the way, on the text line, people who say
there was Jeffy peanut butter are taking Skippy and Jim
and making it a peanut butter.
Speaker 3 (02:01:01):
That's a good pint, by the way, that that is yo,
Skippy's terrible.
Speaker 10 (02:01:05):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (02:01:05):
And remember Bama. Does anybody remember Jiffy pop popcorn?
Speaker 6 (02:01:09):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (02:01:09):
Yeah, put it on the stove.
Speaker 8 (02:01:10):
That was real?
Speaker 3 (02:01:11):
Is that is anybody?
Speaker 4 (02:01:13):
Is there one person that says, now that we have
microwavable popcorn, I'm going with Jiffy pop or just remember
the mister popcorn machines people? Yeah, now, people do that
because they think it tastes better. I'm strictly talking about
Jiffy pop. How how does Jiffy pop around? How does
Jiffy pop survive microwavable popcorn?
Speaker 3 (02:01:30):
I'll tell you this. When I was a little boy,
and then she started, don't put that on the eye,
and you got to shake in it. And also it
started rising up that thing I'd ever think.
Speaker 7 (02:01:39):
Well, Speed was talking about how Terry's making the uh
stovetop just she's got the You remember talking about that?
Speaker 4 (02:01:46):
No, yeah, yeah, I remember. No, I do remember you
talking about that. And I tell Greg, people do that
like you because you all think it tastes better. Yes,
but but I don't understand how Jeffy Pop, which is
kind of in between, makes it.
Speaker 8 (02:01:59):
It really is kind of between.
Speaker 3 (02:02:03):
James Woods. What if it sounds like Jeffy that's hilarious. Uh,
but that I love.
Speaker 4 (02:02:12):
And by the way, I love the person who put
on the text when I was trying to be nice
to the woman and our man in South Florida about
their daughter, and they.
Speaker 3 (02:02:20):
Said, oh, I'm doing I'm doing this dedication. Rick Is.
That's so funny. Give me all that you can take. Huh.
So we got him.
Speaker 8 (02:02:31):
Oh my goodness.
Speaker 3 (02:02:33):
All right, So comedian Jeffy, Hey, comedian Jeffy, you're back.
Speaker 22 (02:02:39):
Okay, First off, I need to clarify I don't actually
identify as a comedian. I identify as a professional smart ass.
Speaker 3 (02:02:46):
Okay, I like that, you know. So you're Greg? Yes, uh,
now I'm interested. So are you, Jesse? Are Jeffy.
Speaker 22 (02:02:55):
Jesse?
Speaker 10 (02:03:00):
Now?
Speaker 4 (02:03:01):
So you're saying Jesse because you said Jesse James. But
I'm telling you, brother, this sounds just like Jeffy.
Speaker 3 (02:03:06):
Yeah that would you?
Speaker 4 (02:03:09):
Would you consider your stage name being Jeffy because I
think it's funnier.
Speaker 22 (02:03:14):
If they allow it.
Speaker 3 (02:03:15):
Yes, Okay, how did you get picked for this trial?
Is it just random? Or I mean you have to
go through get qualified or try? I don't know.
Speaker 22 (02:03:24):
I saw uh, I don't know. If you remember Richard
the fifty five year old janitor to appeared and sing.
Speaker 3 (02:03:34):
Well fired from whether we wanted you or not, we
all had to experience that though.
Speaker 22 (02:03:39):
But yeah, I figured if he could get a bold,
golden buzzer, I could have a chance.
Speaker 3 (02:03:44):
To Yeah, but he could really sing though, important, That
is important. There we go was does anybody want one more? Yeah? Yeah,
it's just weird thing where I'm miserable but I want more.
I don't. It's a strange feeling I have. Go ahead, Jesse,
I mean, Jeffy, Jeffy. Do you have another series joke
(02:04:06):
you could share? Yeah?
Speaker 22 (02:04:10):
Okay, it may be better to tell you how this
idea came to me.
Speaker 3 (02:04:15):
Now, no, no, that won't be better. Let's get let's
get right to it. I wanted to the actual joke.
You're gonna need these when you try it.
Speaker 22 (02:04:25):
Okay, I tried to say, I don't have the material
written out yet.
Speaker 3 (02:04:30):
Okay, step one, Step one? When when's this try?
Speaker 22 (02:04:36):
It is January twenty fourth, but I have the option
to record a video and send it in anytime.
Speaker 3 (02:04:47):
Before that golden buzzer.
Speaker 22 (02:04:50):
All right, I wasn't aware that you could do it virtually.
I thought you had to go to California for it.
Speaker 4 (02:04:55):
I understood I wouldn't worry about my expenses for California.
Speaker 3 (02:05:00):
I think you're good. So so the let's hit us
with one more, give us one more. Jeffy got a
pause between pausing. Jeffy, Greg Jeffy, Right, poor Jeffy, Poor Andy.
Speaker 22 (02:05:20):
Okay, so it doesn't have to be about series. Like
I said, I haven't written.
Speaker 3 (02:05:26):
Any joke, any jokes.
Speaker 22 (02:05:28):
Finally, okay, So I have a friend that has trouble
uh spelling things, and so one of our other friends
in said I just told him, asked SIY, well with
my smart ass, I could not help it. I blurted out,
he can't. Siri blocked him, and that's what gave me
(02:05:52):
the idea for the whole bit, and I'm still working
on it. I haven't written it down, haven't rehearsed it yet.
Speaker 3 (02:05:58):
All right, so you said you well, okay, all right,
well you know what, uh.
Speaker 4 (02:06:07):
Yeah, okay, So I'm gonna say what the thing we
helped you with today is keep working on the material
and you have to be you have to be Jeffy,
not Jesse. And another thing I'm gonna sell you and
somebody on the text lines already ahead of me, would
you consider your act actually being a comedian who isn't
(02:06:27):
any good oh yeah, or doesn't have a joke or
doesn't have a joke.
Speaker 3 (02:06:32):
I'm gonna tell you that may have more potential. Yeah,
sorry about that. But do you have a built in
delay like on your phone or something?
Speaker 22 (02:06:41):
Because okay, I'm I'm a disabled veteran.
Speaker 3 (02:06:50):
I got there with with with dead air.
Speaker 8 (02:06:54):
Okay, all right.
Speaker 22 (02:06:56):
So so my friend told me that I needed to
be a stand up to me medio, and I have
to tell him I can't stand up.
Speaker 12 (02:07:03):
Now.
Speaker 3 (02:07:03):
That's fine, that's that is Now there's your joke that
needs to be the first all jeff we got okay,
(02:07:24):
Well listen, you need to call back again. Jeffrey. Yeah,
we'll help you. I'll help you to you get there.
Thanks for your service to the country.
Speaker 4 (02:07:32):
He's working on his eyes. I'm doing let me take something.
I want to be a stand up comedian, and I
told my friend I can't stand up.
Speaker 3 (02:07:39):
That is I'll tell you. Oh, welcome to the show, Jeffy, Jeffy,
we'll be right.
Speaker 2 (02:07:45):
About this is the Rick Burgess Show, a voice of
(02:08:06):
reason in an unreasonable world. But Rick person of the show.
Speaker 4 (02:08:11):
Yep, yeah, thank you for being with us today. Or
the text line is going crazy after comedian Jeffy. You
know one thing that looks like we missed. We shall
let Jeffy spin the wheel.
Speaker 3 (02:08:23):
Oh god, we could should have spun the wheel for Jeffy. Uh.
Speaker 4 (02:08:28):
Well, you know what, jeff you'll get to spin I
mean before before y'all are also right about that, by
the way, Uh, simply safe dot com slash big box
now more than ever, Yes, after my yesterday that I
can't share now more than ever. Uh, simply safe dot
com slash big vox.
Speaker 3 (02:08:45):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (02:08:46):
There's nothing more important than protecting the ones that you
love and protecting from harm.
Speaker 5 (02:08:51):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (02:08:52):
So what uh what could keep things from happening? Like intruders, fire,
carbon monoxide, God forbid, floods from broken or frozen water pipe.
We're run in the middle of a deep freeze right now.
Speaker 4 (02:09:03):
If you're if you're thinking about getting a securities then
simply safe dot com slash Big Box they're just they're
just way out ahead of everybody else. Everybody's playing catch
up to them right now. They're the industry leader, the
live guard protection. You mean to tell me, I can
have people monitoring my property twenty four to seven that
can interact with intruders. Hey what are you doing here?
(02:09:25):
What are you doing on this property? Why are you
walking up to this door? Hey there's a fire. Hey
there's a flood. Hey we've detected carbon monoxide. This is
happening in live time, not I have to notice it.
Then I have to go flip the alarm or something
goes off and people try to figure out what's going on.
Speaker 3 (02:09:41):
They know what's going on.
Speaker 4 (02:09:43):
Okay, So so anyway, go to simply safe dot com,
slash big box, Simply safe dot com, slash Big box,
or go to our link there at Rick Burgess Show
dot com. You're ready for this. Fifty percent off? Yeah,
fifty percent off, right, now in any new system, if
you do when they're monitoring plans in the first month,
that the monitoring plan will be free. Okay, there's no
long term contract, no hidden fees.
Speaker 3 (02:10:04):
Don't worry about that.
Speaker 4 (02:10:05):
So go to simplysafe dot com slash big box and
there is no safe like simply safe dot com slash
big box.
Speaker 3 (02:10:12):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (02:10:12):
So Jeffy I think is establishing himself somebody or say saying, look,
as you're building, you know some new things that that
right there, that right there will will probably be that
that's a starter that you'll never forget that the.
Speaker 3 (02:10:31):
Stand up Jeffy, I mean you won't have that. So
on that note.
Speaker 4 (02:10:36):
You know how, sometimes you know, and it is serious
and we were thankful for his service, but you know how,
sometimes there's a lot of funny and a serious moment
that goes lighthearted and it's unexpected, very unexpected kind of
like that.
Speaker 5 (02:10:51):
You know.
Speaker 4 (02:10:52):
So somebody actually putting on the text line yesterday and
I do, I sure do, thank you for checking. And
somebody said, hey, we we haven't heard an update on
your friend who has als, and sadly that that update
is not very good. He is, he's you know, getting worse,
and uh it's it's not you know, improving, and it
is accelerating and and you know, and he he of
(02:11:14):
course talking about Jordan Hinson and the Hinson family. He
he is a dear friend and we have we have
had a lot of fun together continuing. You know, every
time you're together, you want you want to try to
lighten things up. But at the same time, it's you know,
it's it's tough and his family and everything they're going
through and the difficulties of that. So we're we go
to see him on the break and he was in
(02:11:35):
the hospital at the time, and so Sherry and I
go up there and and his wife is there and
one of his daughters and uh so we're all talking
and you know, we're praying, and we're we're being real
serious about the situation. Obviously serious and so and you know,
when these situations happen and your wife is in the room,
are with you, it makes it even more intense.
Speaker 3 (02:11:57):
So and and we're guys, we're guy friends, you know,
guys you know are forever to some degree. Children.
Speaker 4 (02:12:05):
You know, like you said, you never you never, you
don't you don't never do away with the little boy
that's inside. You just stopped letting him make decisions, but
he's always that idea. So they were talking about the
medical procedure that he just had, and it evolved them
trying to put something, you know, down his nose and
all this, and he began and.
Speaker 3 (02:12:24):
You can bear to hear him, you know, talking now
because of the oxygen going down, and he's telling the story,
which I I was like, oh, you know, because it's
such a serious situation. He's telling the story that when
they tried to put that in his nose, they had
a hard time, and they asked him, have you ever
broke your nose, to which he then whispers with my
(02:12:48):
wife in the room, and that's when I told them
when Rick broke my nose, and err, he said, what
Rick broke your nose? I'm easy, you know, And and
then you kind of start even to your friend, who's
you know, battling als easy now. And then Sherry starts
coming in and he's like, tells her about the birthday party.
And I don't remember if it was one of their
kids or one of our kids. It was one of
these jumpy things.
Speaker 4 (02:13:09):
And they had a boxing ring with those big old
fluffy boxing gloves on, and he tried to take on
the champion, and and and he got in the ring
out of children at our children's birthday party. Please don't
miss that. And he gets in and I thought they
were fluffier than they were. They looked like big pillows
to me. And he came in and he didn't cover
(02:13:31):
and I hit him. I hit him with the with
with the with the right cross and and and broke
his nose at the birthday party. Well, and you realize
how long it took Sherry to forget that, and and
and then he brings it back up.
Speaker 3 (02:13:46):
But I mean, here he is. What am I gonna say?
I can't.
Speaker 4 (02:13:48):
I mean, there's you know, and he he's got the
room because everybody's leaning in to hear what he say.
And she goes, you broke his nose at one of
the kid's birthday parties. I said that a long time ago,
long time ago. But look, I mean I was I
was the reigning champion and everybody was and he was
out there and he was like, you know, you may
be bigger.
Speaker 3 (02:14:07):
But I'm I'm tougher. I can take you on. And
he stepped in the ring that's probably supposed to be fun.
He was thinking it was gonna be a fun time. Rick,
Well he broke his nose. Well he should have got
his arm up. Yeah, I'm Rick.
Speaker 4 (02:14:17):
I mean right, so that had that that actually came
back during the visit. So then what do you think
the rest of my day was?
Speaker 3 (02:14:24):
Oh, yeah, you broke it.
Speaker 2 (02:14:26):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, the man who taught
the world to say couldn't care less.
Speaker 3 (02:14:47):
I'm gonna say some of you on the text line,
you're you're, you're, you're your shoot? Ready, aim? I mean
I just said.
Speaker 4 (02:14:53):
Somebody say I'm worse at basketball than Jeffy is a comedy.
I just went eleven for fifteen. Yeah, I mean, come on, man,
that was my best run of the day.
Speaker 3 (02:15:02):
That's not bad. And you don't hear from them, you
know when you get yes when I'm I can't ring
one today, I said I was one for two, but
I throw two. I want two hands at one. I
want eleven for fifteen. Right then, I'm getting better.
Speaker 4 (02:15:12):
I will tell you this because of what we talked about, Greg,
Have you started doing better yet?
Speaker 3 (02:15:17):
No? I can answer that, Okay, so speeding I at
you start doing better yet?
Speaker 8 (02:15:22):
Greg? And I are starting tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (02:15:24):
Okay, what you say, I'm waiting on that front to move.
Speaker 8 (02:15:27):
Okay, stuff to handle.
Speaker 4 (02:15:29):
Well, you know you and I knew we would pay
a horrible price. So when I first tried to start
trying to shoot earlier today, I couldn't get my arms over.
Speaker 3 (02:15:37):
So anyway, sure he's riding.
Speaker 5 (02:15:38):
Now.
Speaker 4 (02:15:39):
I want to I want to clarify the story that
I just told from here, and it is it is
terribly sad to watch this, but let me tell you this.
Jordi Henson is a man of God and has always
been a powerful follow of Christ and his impact for
the kingdom incredible, and and he is ministering and glorifying
and glorifying Jesus all the way. But we also had
a lot of fun times as we talked about that.
We're very lighthearted. But here's what happens when you have
(02:16:01):
a dear friend that in such a serious situation and
he decides, you know, when he's struggling for oxygen, that
he's going to get enough oxygen to tell my wife
that his nose is messed up because of me breaking
his nose in a boxing match at a kid at
one of our kids' birthday party.
Speaker 3 (02:16:17):
So what then what happens.
Speaker 4 (02:16:19):
So I'm getting you know, I'm getting lambashed about this again.
I cannot believe we're at the elevator. I cannot believe
that you wrote Jordi Hins's nose. I said, baby, can
I clarify something? He did not have als? Then No,
y'all are telling it different, y'all. Everybody's telling it different.
Like I just punched him here in the last you
know year.
Speaker 3 (02:16:38):
It is a long time.
Speaker 4 (02:16:39):
Our kids were tiny. Why were y'all even boxing at
the kids party that was for them?
Speaker 3 (02:16:44):
That's a good question.
Speaker 4 (02:16:45):
And I said, now that we can talk about that,
but you're you now have got me fighting Jeordie at
one of our kids birthday parties with als and punching
him in the nose.
Speaker 3 (02:16:55):
That didn't happen. It didn't. But I want to defend
Sherry on this.
Speaker 9 (02:16:58):
Okay, she witnessed you pushing down a man with leukemia
when you were when you were checking out your combining stories.
Speaker 3 (02:17:05):
You're combining story racing him on the beach. I watched it.
Speaker 4 (02:17:09):
I pushed I pushed Sherry down, you got in his lane.
I just I just kind of bodied him out, blocked
him out. Yeah, but she witnessed that, so she's thinking, well,
he'll do that. Yeah, that's right, he'll punch, you.
Speaker 8 (02:17:21):
Know.
Speaker 3 (02:17:21):
But she's just going off here. But let's let's be
real about that though. Guys. It's it's your kid's birthday party.
Speaker 4 (02:17:26):
Every dad there, the kids are doing this, and one
over there and one of the little jumpy things. Somebody's
just said on the text line, which is true, Rick,
why don't you just get away from anything jumpy or moon.
Speaker 3 (02:17:37):
Yeah, great, that's great, that's a good thing can go wrong.
Speaker 4 (02:17:40):
And I remember you now, please don't picture they were
little boxing gloves. Yeah, these are those big old boxing gloves,
like the size of a pillow, sock, em boppers something
like that.
Speaker 3 (02:17:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (02:17:51):
And so the the the dads, the dads, we looked
over there, and a couple of dads said, you know,
let's let's go around. And I started having some success
and to Jordie's very feisty nature, you know, my whole life.
Jeordie told me that he could block me my entire
life because he was some overachiever you know in high
(02:18:11):
school or something, you know, at center and so so
he he was the rooty of his team.
Speaker 3 (02:18:16):
Oh okay, okay, but very feisty and very good. Okay.
Speaker 4 (02:18:19):
But anyway, so he always wanted, I guess, and he thought.
He looked up and said, here's my chance, you know,
to dethrone the champion. Of course, Share reminded me, there
is no champion of somebody's birthday party. There's one of
the kid's birthday party. When did you become the champion?
And I said by beating the other dads? Yeah, you
know what I mean at a birthday party. And she
(02:18:40):
goes gets him gate. There was but there was nothing
even in our planning that here's the dad's boxing tournament.
And I said, no, that just developed, that just developed,
and he got in the ring. Now, I will say
on my defense now, sadly, for speedy Greg and Adler, sadly,
this is going to sound like a story as old
as time involving me. I didn't really think you could
(02:19:01):
hurt anybody with these gloves.
Speaker 3 (02:19:02):
Yeah, so you you go back. Okay, Sorry, this brings
back on kinds of trauma. I just didn't think that
anybody could get hurt doing that. I was wrong, seems
to what you always think. I was wrong.
Speaker 4 (02:19:15):
And uh and he he and and he he he
went with the you know, the bull rush, and he
rushed the champion and it got a little sloppy, and
and I saw an opportunity and I did a left jab,
which which you know, got him to set him up.
Speaker 3 (02:19:32):
And then the right cross broke the nose. And I did,
I did.
Speaker 4 (02:19:35):
I didn't expect the nose to be broken from a
big pillow thing. Did he immediately go down like, oh yeah, blood,
blood bad.
Speaker 7 (02:19:43):
I'm reading the actual warning on the soccer boppers package
and it says warn warning do not aim at eyes
or face.
Speaker 3 (02:19:51):
Right, Well, then, what's the point happening? Well, it was
for kids, as why.
Speaker 8 (02:19:55):
That's a great point.
Speaker 4 (02:19:56):
It's a good point, all right, So Adler from the
text line. From the text line, there's a history. Ask
Adler about Rick's right cross he said in the in
the in the mismatch, and what was it the showdown
in mismatch, he said that Rick gets a different look
in his eyes when the boxing starts.
Speaker 3 (02:20:14):
Fun or not?
Speaker 7 (02:20:14):
No, yeah, you you had whole hands on, Rick, those
weren't real boxing gloves and you're just nailing me in.
Speaker 8 (02:20:20):
The face over on.
Speaker 3 (02:20:21):
You had a helmet on, Like this is a bit, Rick,
you had a helmet on.
Speaker 8 (02:20:25):
This is a comedy show, not a death match.
Speaker 3 (02:20:28):
There's a lot of hot around it. You're taking it
a little sick. My goodness, you know what you're telling you,
you know what yourself hurts scripted it's like wrestling.
Speaker 4 (02:20:36):
You know what you're saying, though, Adler, you might as
well be talking to a line and say, why did
you go after that that Antelope?
Speaker 8 (02:20:43):
Thank you for not calling me a lamb?
Speaker 3 (02:20:44):
I thought, no, no, no, not a lamb. You know
what that You remember when I told you?
Speaker 4 (02:20:47):
You remember when I told you when I was in
Africa and the guy told us on the Safari, don't
run if a predator comes after us, let me handle it,
because if you run, you'll only be tired when you die.
Speaker 3 (02:21:00):
Because it's an instinct that clicks in them something.
Speaker 4 (02:21:03):
And I think in these type of matches, granted they're
at children's birthday parties in their comedy bit, I acknowledge
that I'm embracing that, but I think the texture has it.
Speaker 3 (02:21:14):
I think it's something almost uncontrollable.
Speaker 14 (02:21:15):
It is.
Speaker 3 (02:21:16):
Yeah, So that's on me, all right. So we let's
talk a little bit about Well, that's wow, by the way,
that is so true.
Speaker 4 (02:21:26):
Somebody says in the wind, this was Jordie's get back
for you, because you're mind the wife of the mind
of a wife.
Speaker 3 (02:21:33):
Now has you actually punching him in the hospital bed?
Speaker 22 (02:21:36):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (02:21:36):
Yeah, you know so he he went that. You know what,
that's what it was. That was his get back, wasn't it.
Speaker 4 (02:21:41):
He's been waiting for this moment to throw me under
the bus, and he picked a dandy successful.
Speaker 3 (02:21:46):
Hey, he picked a dandy of a moment.
Speaker 8 (02:21:48):
I found footage from Rick at the hospital.
Speaker 6 (02:21:50):
Rick.
Speaker 8 (02:21:50):
That's uncor.
Speaker 3 (02:21:53):
By the way. That's we had on right there. That's
soccer roppers. Yeah, that's the children.
Speaker 8 (02:21:57):
They're filled with air. Rick, that's what's inside of those air.
Speaker 3 (02:22:01):
Probably shouldn't hurt anybody.
Speaker 8 (02:22:04):
He just punched a man, is what you did?
Speaker 4 (02:22:06):
You know, in a boxing match that he volunteered for.
How about that's a big You gain't leave that stuff out.
You're telling me that if I took a balloon and
when they're hit you in the head with it would hurt.
That's what I thought I was dealing with.
Speaker 3 (02:22:18):
I was wrong. And you didn't like sneak up and
sucker punch him. No matter of fact, he was gonna.
Speaker 8 (02:22:23):
Punch me, probably not as hard, probably not in the face.
Speaker 3 (02:22:26):
Well his height, it would have hit me in the chest.
But yeah, right, what is this? Where the the the
people that are not as tall, I always think they
want to try to de throw on the champel then
get inside, right, that's it, Adler?
Speaker 15 (02:22:39):
What what was it?
Speaker 3 (02:22:39):
What is it that that gets you to think that.
Speaker 8 (02:22:42):
You got to get inside?
Speaker 3 (02:22:42):
Range?
Speaker 2 (02:22:43):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (02:22:44):
But is this is this those after school specials where
the big guy gets me by the little.
Speaker 8 (02:22:48):
Guy is always doing a comedy bit. I had no
intentions of you came in kind of aggressive.
Speaker 4 (02:22:54):
You came in kind of aggressive. So you're you were
just defending him. That's right, thank you, just defending Thank you?
Speaker 3 (02:23:00):
Yeah, you do glaze over though, what kind of.
Speaker 4 (02:23:04):
It's here's one way, you know, there's one way, not
that you take a punch, and and that is don't
don't go up there and take the bull by the horns.
If you take the bull by the horns, guess what
you can get. You get the horn.
Speaker 3 (02:23:16):
You can get a horn. That's it. So but that's
just a but.
Speaker 4 (02:23:20):
But anyway, it was it led to me so I
think a texture. I've been wondering about this because this
was about, uh maybe two weeks ago, and I think
a texture.
Speaker 3 (02:23:32):
You just made me understand it because I thought to myself,
why would he bring that up? You know, they tried
to do that thing. They couldn't get it on his nose.
And he goes and you know, and then he tells
me that's.
Speaker 19 (02:23:40):
What I done.
Speaker 3 (02:23:42):
And I'm looking and I'm like, why is he saying?
He was laughing? So this was his get back he
had how hey, he has waited on this moment and
and a very very intense moment, and his has decided
to do the get back. Yeah, you don't have to
whisper what I want you to.
Speaker 4 (02:24:00):
I mean, all right, when we come back. We got
another idea. We got another idea that we and we
don't know if it will work. I think Speedy by
Me Lunch and the Will have both worked pretty well.
Speaker 3 (02:24:15):
This one, we don't know. It's still in development. We
want to get your feedback on it, so we'll be back.
We'll talk about a potential new bit.
Speaker 2 (02:24:26):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. The Truth needs moo Apology.
Speaker 3 (02:24:51):
We go thank you for being with us today. So
we've been unpacking a lot.
Speaker 4 (02:24:57):
I mean, we're only four days in to this new
journe and we certainly have enjoyed all your feedback, good bad,
Not so much the ugly, but those of you that
honestly are working with us and making suggestions and giving
us your feedback, we love it and so thank you
for that.
Speaker 5 (02:25:15):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (02:25:15):
Now, we're trying to develop some things that you know
are going to be unique to this experience.
Speaker 3 (02:25:20):
Some of those will make it, some of them won't.
It's trial and error, as it is with any show.
Speaker 4 (02:25:24):
And so we had a business summit and you can
see episode one Tales from the camp House on our
YouTube channel.
Speaker 3 (02:25:33):
So so we we were down there. Of course we
weren't hunting. I mean we hunted some, but I mean
we were there to do business.
Speaker 4 (02:25:40):
And as you've seen, if you've already watched the episode one,
you see we're very committed to planning and getting ready
for the new show. And one of the things Adler
brought up, he said, do you remember the name?
Speaker 3 (02:25:54):
I almost have to go back.
Speaker 8 (02:25:56):
Was it Fox Verdict verdict or Fox Verdict?
Speaker 4 (02:25:59):
I think it was the big Vox verdict where we
have a verdict on something, we rule on things, and
and you were talking about this would be you. You
use all four of us, and you you give us
the conflict. Maybe it is a husband and wife saying, hey,
I think this is right and she thinks this is
right in this situation with what do y'all think is right?
Speaker 3 (02:26:21):
Is that kind of what you're talking about?
Speaker 8 (02:26:22):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (02:26:22):
Yes, If I.
Speaker 4 (02:26:23):
Remember the discussion, because you know, we were so focused
on business, there was so much we talked about. I'm
not sure I remember all of it, but I remember
that discussion.
Speaker 7 (02:26:31):
Well there's I mean, you guys have had, you know,
long standing maybe disagreements and it's not a fight, it's
not a big deal, but it's a disagreement maybe within
your marriage or even maybe amongst your friends or siblings
or whatever. And it's hard sometimes to work that out.
And it's nice to get a maybe a third party
to come in and talk about People love these Judge shows.
(02:26:52):
You know, Judge Judy. People are arguing over five hundred bucks. Okay,
well it's not that highest stakes, but hey, I'm invested.
Speaker 3 (02:26:58):
I'm interested in the show'soy and right.
Speaker 7 (02:27:00):
And since we're bringing we're gonna have the studio audience
back in here very soon.
Speaker 8 (02:27:05):
We can even do it live in person.
Speaker 11 (02:27:07):
That was how I that's really extremely uncomfortable an argument. Yes,
you guys, and you guys are like, well, that's a
good point. Now, that's a good point too, and especially
with the way that the desk is set up, because
you could have.
Speaker 7 (02:27:19):
One person on one side of y'all, one person on
the other side of y'all. They make the decision and
you guys are in the middle, and y'all decide. It's
the big vox verdict.
Speaker 3 (02:27:27):
All right, So what we would be then, what we're
saying is these do these two people have agreed to arbitration,
arbitration and we are the arbitrators or the mediators.
Speaker 8 (02:27:36):
Yeah, absolutely, absolutely, yes, Yeah, if.
Speaker 3 (02:27:39):
You're coming to the show, yeah, and what we say
and what we say goes yes. And that was what
if they bring up something that's like really, well, we
wouldn't do that. Couldn't we wear it?
Speaker 8 (02:27:50):
That's better?
Speaker 4 (02:27:51):
Yeah, I mean like it might be something now see
the reason why this one's crying, Well.
Speaker 3 (02:27:56):
Well then you would be you would apparently you would
be three Well they would probably add to the segment.
So yeah, so who.
Speaker 9 (02:28:06):
What happens if if they win, then they're right, they
get to they go what about they stand in front
of the goal there and the the other one that
one gets to dunk over them.
Speaker 8 (02:28:18):
Yeah, as like a final insult.
Speaker 3 (02:28:21):
Oh good, I bet that'll send her by getting it
all worked out.
Speaker 20 (02:28:25):
There you go.
Speaker 8 (02:28:25):
And plus there's three of y'all. And y'all, you know
that's a that's an odd number.
Speaker 3 (02:28:31):
Put yourself out of the can. What about if I
put myself out of it?
Speaker 8 (02:28:34):
I mean, I could weigh in, but I don't know.
Speaker 3 (02:28:36):
It must be an odd number.
Speaker 8 (02:28:38):
It's got to be.
Speaker 4 (02:28:38):
It's got to be an odd number. And so there's
three of us. We're almost like a supreme court.
Speaker 8 (02:28:43):
Exactly like a supreme court.
Speaker 15 (02:28:44):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (02:28:45):
And so people people are saying, I think this will
be crazy entertaining, but there's no way I would do
it because it's going to be bad.
Speaker 3 (02:28:54):
It's gonna be people sign up for it.
Speaker 8 (02:28:56):
We don't make anybody do.
Speaker 3 (02:28:58):
Yeah, they we have to pre screen. People are saying, no, yeah,
we wouldn't just take it.
Speaker 4 (02:29:04):
We don't want something like well, honestly, I can't think
of anything I turned down right now, but I think, yeah, no,
there would be things we would say I were.
Speaker 3 (02:29:12):
Not going to get into that.
Speaker 9 (02:29:13):
Wait a minute. So I'm picturing me standing on your
face right here.
Speaker 3 (02:29:18):
Thanks, I saw that, okay, And that's not my face,
it's a it's a cartoon in your face. Yeah, it
was sort of.
Speaker 22 (02:29:27):
Uh.
Speaker 9 (02:29:27):
And and I'm talking to the vox seats and there
I am talking, and I'm like, is anybody having a
disagreement today?
Speaker 8 (02:29:37):
Want to?
Speaker 3 (02:29:38):
I kind of like what Greg said a minute ago.
Speaker 4 (02:29:40):
So right now, as we speak, for the month of February,
every single day is completely booked. It is so so
there's there's a good number of people that know they're
coming here in February, Lord Willie, so they they need
to already be thinking, well, I'll.
Speaker 3 (02:29:55):
Tell you what.
Speaker 4 (02:29:56):
Now I must something, and now I will go ahead
because I want to lay and this because you know
what the key is, just like what we did with
the league, just like what we did with our Little
League rules, is you got to get out ahead of it.
I hate when we let things develop and we don't
get out ahead of it. Just like baby predictions were
on the Old Show. They could be very entertaining, but
(02:30:17):
it's not entertaining if we're doing a baby prediction, you know,
two to three segments every day, no one second. Yeah,
So what I'm saying is if you come here honestly,
because we got to look out for there's two things
you got to look out for. You who's you, our guests,
but we also have to look out for the much
larger number of people that's the actually actual listening and
(02:30:39):
viewing audience. So you have to understand that we're probably
just going to pick the case we think would be
the most entertaining, and I'm going to get just because
you have a case, don't mean that we're obligated to
actually hear the.
Speaker 7 (02:30:51):
Case, absolutely right, And I'm going to get these outfits
for all y'all to wear.
Speaker 8 (02:30:56):
Rick, you can have a hammer, the judges, the judges
with the right.
Speaker 7 (02:31:01):
We're gonna make it official, right, something stupid and small
like maybe you think maybe you think that like the
TV remote should be on the hutch, but I think
it should be on the bench, and you make your
case why I don't care whatever.
Speaker 9 (02:31:13):
I don't know, off the top, off the bottom eat
on me three years ago and says I need to
get over it, but I can't.
Speaker 8 (02:31:21):
It's worth to be that.
Speaker 3 (02:31:22):
We're gonna get good. Some people.
Speaker 4 (02:31:24):
Some people they'll say anything, Yeah, some people are saying,
are you telling me there's a chance we may hear
Rick say, sir, you are the father?
Speaker 8 (02:31:31):
No, no, a gavel?
Speaker 9 (02:31:35):
What about like I broke Jordy's nose, Shrer, he's upset
with me, and she tries to tell you why she's
upset and justify breaking his nuh.
Speaker 4 (02:31:43):
And then y'all can say, sure, you have every right
to be upset, or you can say we've we've ruled
that Rick has already served penance on this and we
must move on.
Speaker 8 (02:31:50):
Yeah, should Rick have hit a man in a wheelchair?
Speaker 22 (02:31:53):
Yes?
Speaker 5 (02:31:54):
Or no?
Speaker 3 (02:31:54):
He was not in a wheelchair, Nor have I ever
hit anyone in a wheelchair? I don't think. Okay, now,
did it was an axent?
Speaker 4 (02:32:00):
Well, you were there for an instant, you and my nephew,
your son for a wheelchair instance?
Speaker 3 (02:32:05):
That was unforgettable.
Speaker 5 (02:32:07):
It really was.
Speaker 9 (02:32:09):
Who's going to go over the details for pre screening?
I mean no, I think it's all you. Okay, I'll
do it if you're not part of the judge and jury, Yeah, okay,
then then and it's your idea, then I think you
present it to the vox seats and then you pre screen.
Speaker 8 (02:32:24):
Does anybody have anything they want settling.
Speaker 4 (02:32:26):
It's more like settling things we have no legal standing.
Get ready, Here's what I think is, you're right. He's
the Doug Luwellen okay from People's Court. Okay, and you
walk out and say, okay, let me hear what's out
there today, and then you tell them okay. So at
a moment, the guys are going to put you in here,
You're going to go for the big vox verdict and
they're going to decide which one of you is right.
(02:32:48):
It could be simple, as you know, something fun like
is Diehard a Christmas movie?
Speaker 3 (02:32:53):
I think it is? The other person doesn't think so.
The controversy of Greg.
Speaker 4 (02:32:57):
Greg doesn't believe that the caffeinated coffee should even be
an option, you know, I mean, and and when we hear,
we hear those kind of things.
Speaker 8 (02:33:05):
Yeah, you know, everybody gets to state their case.
Speaker 3 (02:33:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (02:33:08):
What if somebody says something simple like I think die Hard,
I think legal lethal lethal that Now.
Speaker 3 (02:33:14):
Now James Woods just got me with the lips. James
Woods has got me.
Speaker 4 (02:33:18):
Now, lethal weapon two is better than lethal weapon one,
which is insane?
Speaker 3 (02:33:22):
Right see there? What if I thought it was?
Speaker 9 (02:33:25):
And then we'd come in and we get a big
box verdict. Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah right, and uh so
does anybody in the building. I could bring in here, yes,
tilding people, street people, bring in anybody.
Speaker 3 (02:33:37):
Some people are saying, what could we do? Callers?
Speaker 4 (02:33:41):
The issue with this system here, it's not the best
on I don't even remember how you put two callers
on the same time here or done song?
Speaker 8 (02:33:50):
Well, wouldn't they be on the same phone because they're
in the same room.
Speaker 3 (02:33:52):
I mean, yeah, but I think I.
Speaker 8 (02:33:54):
Personates so much better.
Speaker 3 (02:33:55):
So you you're not even open to the phones?
Speaker 22 (02:33:57):
I don't know.
Speaker 8 (02:33:57):
Do you all want to wear the judge outfit? Er?
Speaker 3 (02:33:59):
Should I at the Journey? I ain't.
Speaker 8 (02:34:01):
Can I a slam a gabble? You all decide?
Speaker 3 (02:34:04):
I just slam the gas. You're the judge. But you
guys are good the journey?
Speaker 2 (02:34:10):
Now, this is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 1 (02:34:25):
You better listen up, you know, like we say. Also,
I'm gonna tell you gotta find.
Speaker 2 (02:34:40):
Broadcasting from the world the Rick Burchish.
Speaker 3 (02:34:44):
That's right, but we use a lot more than uh
the show not for the delusional.
Speaker 14 (02:34:50):
Uh.
Speaker 8 (02:34:51):
Here we go.
Speaker 3 (02:34:52):
As we move forward, Rick Burgess Show, we'll get into
some of your phone calls again. This hour.
Speaker 4 (02:34:57):

can text that line as well. Many of you have
discovered that the text sign working perfectly today, so glad
to hear that. And thanks for all your feedback, very
very helpful, speedy, Greg Burgess and Adler all here. Also,
don't forget the arch guy from yesterday's Bible study. We
(02:35:20):
were on sabbatical there for three weeks, so we were
back and met.
Speaker 3 (02:35:23):
It felt great to be.
Speaker 4 (02:35:24):
In the room with the guys and all of you
that watched that either live or on the archive or
listen to it.
Speaker 3 (02:35:30):
Daniel.
Speaker 4 (02:35:30):
Chapter ten a great lesson in the middle of there
a number of great points from the scripture, but also
a lot of takeaway on getting to look at spiritual
warfare that might be shocking but at the same time helpful.
Speaker 3 (02:35:46):
So if you haven't caught that one, do so. All right.
Speaker 4 (02:35:49):
So we have a number of stories still to go
that we want to work through and we're working on
some stuff. Thanks for all your feedback as we kind
of build some new things. Things will work, some things won't. Uh,
but here is a classic and you know, let's let's
just talk about it. I mean alcohol, It causes a
(02:36:09):
lot of problems. I mean it is you know, as
we've said many many times, one thing that we have
and we have an award show for just about everything. Uh,
there's never been an award show and it was it's
just one person after another getting up and saying, I
just like to talk about what alcohol has done for me.
But you have definitely you know, I would not have
done this if it had not been from alcohol. Anything
(02:36:31):
good now when it comes to anything bad. When you
when you think about this, people are asking about the
YouTube tag for the Bible study.
Speaker 3 (02:36:40):
I don't even know what that means. You just go to,
uh to our YouTube channel. That's there, right, I learned
not need anything, just go to just go to YouTube
Rick Burgess Show, or go to Rick burgesshow dot com
and click on the watch live option there or YouTube
and it's there if you want to watch it, if
you want to listen to it. It's on our podcast
archive from yesterday audio only, So wherever you get podcasts,
(02:37:02):
just search Rick Burgess Show there too. All right, So
that owns me.
Speaker 4 (02:37:06):
You're in the middle of h I see something that
can answer quick. It's just what you and I just
talked about in the break. Yeah, so anyway, so when
when you think about the horrors of alcohol, you think
to yourself, maybe maybe this whole moderation thing that seems
to be talked about, or maybe just abstaining uh life
(02:37:27):
will have fewer problems. So here we have a lady
and it's sad. She has had too much to drink.
Apparently she works at an establishment where there's not a
lot of they sell wings, and she is going to
(02:37:47):
try to use her female power to get herself out.
Speaker 3 (02:37:54):
Of a d UI. Is that correct? Yes, she just
coming on to the cop to the policeman, Okay, this
isn't Sarasota.
Speaker 9 (02:38:02):
And this is his body camera on his chest and
and he captured the interaction between him and his officers
and her.
Speaker 3 (02:38:11):
Wow.
Speaker 9 (02:38:11):
And she obviously knows that she's drunk, because she says
she knows, and it's a d u I, which is
very serious. And he's working through that process of letting
her know. And she has some ideas of getting out
of the tickets.
Speaker 19 (02:38:25):
What happened?
Speaker 6 (02:38:26):
He drove it over here.
Speaker 22 (02:38:28):
Funny, we physically saw you driving.
Speaker 5 (02:38:32):
I was not driving.
Speaker 6 (02:38:37):
Over here.
Speaker 3 (02:38:39):
To make out.
Speaker 2 (02:38:46):
We're gonna make out here, make out here, don't.
Speaker 6 (02:38:53):
We're gonna make out.
Speaker 3 (02:38:58):
By not right there?
Speaker 8 (02:39:02):
Not right there?
Speaker 19 (02:39:03):
No, no, no, you know I'm drunk.
Speaker 8 (02:39:08):
Why are you doing this to me?
Speaker 3 (02:39:10):
I want to do you know? You know I'm drunk.
Speaker 6 (02:39:14):
Are you gonna tase me?
Speaker 3 (02:39:21):
Oh?
Speaker 22 (02:39:21):
This is.
Speaker 8 (02:39:24):
He's trying to write hes.
Speaker 25 (02:39:28):
Okay, sorry, Unfortunately, you're gonna have to I can't, bro,
I can't.
Speaker 3 (02:39:34):
I give you, Okay, Dave, it's something, Okay, okay, there are.
Speaker 2 (02:39:42):
More number no, no, no, hey, what is brothers?
Speaker 3 (02:39:49):
No, ma'am, no, ma'am.
Speaker 19 (02:39:52):
I think you.
Speaker 8 (02:39:54):
Please belave.
Speaker 3 (02:39:55):
On one point, she got him daddy.
Speaker 6 (02:40:00):
No, she doesn't know you was taking him right?
Speaker 8 (02:40:03):
Okay, sure you're taking him.
Speaker 2 (02:40:06):
I want you, I want you taking him right, you
are taking me?
Speaker 6 (02:40:12):
Okay there it is.
Speaker 8 (02:40:16):
Just making fun of him. Put his hand on his hip.
Speaker 3 (02:40:18):
Okay, all right, okay, I just can't. I can't look
at that whos But one thing she did say correctly,
you know I'm drunk. Yes, yes, I do. Wow, pretty
obviously you don't even have to do the trick. Wow, wow,
you know.
Speaker 8 (02:40:33):
Please listen to this last section she section of the clip.
I'm so sorry.
Speaker 7 (02:40:37):
I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, and this isn't gonna help
them to say, he's putting handcuffs on her, and it's
very funny what she says.
Speaker 8 (02:40:49):
I know, it's so cool and it's so cold. They're handcuffs,
their metal, you're getting and stuff.
Speaker 3 (02:40:58):
Oh my goodness. That's that is hopefully that's a public
service announcement and that's that's just basically that's going where
they can watch it right now? Everybody? Yeah, and where
where is that?
Speaker 4 (02:41:17):
Because I know they've got our burd a little bit,
but I think you can see who that is? Can
you just can they just put out body cam footage
or somebody on an arrest like that and.
Speaker 7 (02:41:26):
He gets public? Yeah, yeah, you gotta be careful what
you do on those body cams.
Speaker 8 (02:41:31):
We trust me.
Speaker 9 (02:41:32):
Can I say something that I hate to change subjects here,
but uh, Jimmy Carter's funeral is taking place.
Speaker 3 (02:41:41):
For a minute, what kind of transition is this?
Speaker 9 (02:41:45):
And everybody that hates each other is having to sit
beside each other.
Speaker 3 (02:41:50):
You have the Clintons, and then you have the the
George W. Bush family.
Speaker 9 (02:41:57):
Then you have Obama sitting by Trump with with Biden,
and then Kamala Harris sitting in front of him and nobody,
I mean, obviously it's a serious situation. And they're at
President Carter's funeral. But they look, I mean like Trump
and and Obama are like touching shoulders, sitting next each other,
(02:42:18):
and they spend their entire time dogging each other. Didn't
the Bushes actually endorse Kamala?
Speaker 19 (02:42:23):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (02:42:24):
And they're all sitting right there, and then behind them
Al Gore is is sitting behind who.
Speaker 7 (02:42:30):
Is a There's Pences, yeah, Autor sitting around behind Trump
the Bushes.
Speaker 8 (02:42:35):
Biden's asleep. Oh my god, Biden's eyes are closed. He's asleep.
Speaker 3 (02:42:37):
I'm not joking. He is, Yeah, he is asleep.
Speaker 9 (02:42:39):
Maybe he's praying. No one else seems to be praying.
Hillary Clinton, look at Hillary Clinton. She is disgusted.
Speaker 8 (02:42:46):
And this is live. We're covering this right now.
Speaker 3 (02:42:47):
Yeah, I'm sorry that. I apologize. I think now here's
what I think happened. I think this, what we just
saw was so cringey.
Speaker 4 (02:42:54):
Y'all tried to find something as cringey that we could
shift to, I guess, and.
Speaker 3 (02:42:59):
I think we just did. It was a good night
look at that.
Speaker 9 (02:43:01):
Sure, I just had to bring it up because I
know how they all despise each other.
Speaker 4 (02:43:05):
Now about that cat right there now, which one of
y'all round here was used to like me. So the yeah,
that is no people are people are texting saying they're
watching it too. By the way, somebody said Trump and
Obama are watching that body cam footage. Let me let
me tell you what's what's funny right now? Looking at
(02:43:27):
this Vin, people are saying, people are saying that is
Vince mcman. That did not look like I don't think
it is. Yeah, I don't think it is. But but
people are saying that he was.
Speaker 3 (02:43:40):
He was asleep.
Speaker 4 (02:43:42):
And I don't mean to be I I'm talking about
just president. I'm only talking about politics, not his personal life.
The title says, celebrating Jimmy Carter his life in Legacy.
Speaker 3 (02:43:55):
Okay, all right, I've probably put a lot of people
to sleep. I think I may have done that for
b be right back.
Speaker 2 (02:44:03):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 3 (02:44:18):
The Fox Setters hate Budge.
Speaker 2 (02:44:20):
Will come ju to the Rick Burgess Show, and.
Speaker 4 (02:44:25):
We're glad to be here. Speedy, Greg Gadler all here.
So you've been thinking about all right, this is a
this is a new start. The guys are doing their
thing now.
Speaker 3 (02:44:38):
You know. I think i'd like to be part of this.
Speaker 4 (02:44:40):
I think I'd like to have these guys promoting my
product put together a marketing plan with the show, and
we would love to have you and a lot of
people you know are still with us and we're glad
to have them, and we got new partnerships we're working
on too. Maybe that next new partnership with a media
campaign marketing campaigns should be with you and your product.
Speaker 3 (02:45:03):
We'd love to talk about it.
Speaker 4 (02:45:04):
Would you like to put together a national plan where
you know, you hear you, hear us talking about you
on the show on all the different platforms, the network
of radio stations, the tune in app, the YouTube channel,
the podcast archives, all of those things. Well, then why
don't you go to Rick burgesshow dot com. Uh you'll
see under contact how you can contact Syndicated Solutions or

things where we're seeing numbers that are really exciting, you know,
on all the content that we're putting out there, you
might as well be part of that. Uh So, go

Show at Syndicated Solutions dot com.
Speaker 3 (02:46:19):
All right, so.
Speaker 4 (02:46:21):
We were now we're looking at this Jimmy Carter funeral
and somebody just put us on the text option that
Joe Biden is scheduled to give the eulogy.
Speaker 3 (02:46:35):
They're gonna have to wake him up. There's no, that's
not right. Yeah, No, I think I heard that on
the radio. I believe I did on the news. No, no, no,
tell me, you're kidding. No, I really I think I did.
Speaker 4 (02:46:47):
Who in their right mind is going to take something
as somber as someone's funeral and a farm and a
farm and an a former president funeral, and say, tell
you who's gonna do the eulogy? The current state of
Joe Biden? Who makes that decision? Not very responsible? This
is from another planet. And yeah, I mean who was
(02:47:10):
the second choice? Jeffy the comedian.
Speaker 3 (02:47:12):
I mean, I mean this is a I don't even
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (02:47:19):
So you may do a better job. Yeah, So hopefully
that's not what's happening. I really think that what's happening now? Okay,
now here we go again. I know we're weighing off
into the denominational things here. By the way, Obama, how
about Obama? Obama and and Trump are yucking it up
by the way I saw. I mean they are cutting
up big time. Obama's trying not.
Speaker 3 (02:47:41):
To laugh right now.
Speaker 8 (02:47:43):
This guy, who's that guy?
Speaker 2 (02:47:45):
I don't know who that?
Speaker 3 (02:47:46):
Greg gots his sons. It's the grandson.
Speaker 10 (02:47:50):
Greg.
Speaker 8 (02:47:50):
I didn't know.
Speaker 3 (02:47:51):
I just shredded his grandson. He wasn't up there. I
bet half a second. I'll take it.
Speaker 8 (02:47:57):
Everybody with glasses.
Speaker 3 (02:47:59):
Greg, thank you. You have a minder coder than that. No,
I'm sorry, I'll take that back. I didn't know that
wasn't You're in truck. Again. I wasn't even sure what
that was. I just looked up, all right, so i'd looking, Yeah,
I'd like for for.
Speaker 4 (02:48:14):
Us to speculate. I'd like to speculate what is making
Trump laugh that? I mean Obama laugh?
Speaker 13 (02:48:21):
What is it?
Speaker 3 (02:48:21):
What it's making Obama laughs? What is it? They know
things that we don't. So there it is. And and
q ault a look at that.
Speaker 8 (02:48:31):
I was like, hey, I gotta admit, that's a good one.
Whatever Trump is saying, or.
Speaker 3 (02:48:35):
A Biden joke, I know it was.
Speaker 8 (02:48:37):
And the only god making Biden look more alive it's Carter.
Speaker 3 (02:48:43):
By the way, if he threw that line down, if that.
Speaker 8 (02:48:50):
I was saying what Trump might have said, I what
Trump might have said.
Speaker 3 (02:48:58):
That's a good guess. Uh yeah, I didn't even know
that was what we were planning to. Going back to
uh President Carter, he asked Biden to do this several
years ago, supposedly.
Speaker 4 (02:49:11):
I mean, it must have been a long time ago.
And that's when he had Harry. Hey guys, hey guys,
it's it's okay to change it. It's okay to say, well,
at that time, yeah, if you'd have died, then okay.
Speaker 3 (02:49:24):
Right, Oh my goodness, question, what is that? Oh god,
I don't know what that is. That's his daughter on
the right, is it? I think so? I thought that
was one of the Duck dynasty guys for really with
the man. Yeah that was.
Speaker 4 (02:49:40):
Okay, wow, okay, all right, So I had a lot
of famous people in there. Yeah, sorry, we're just know
it's it's an interesting you know that. I'm telling you.
I want you to picture. I want to I want
you to picture Calvin Speedy, Wilburn and everything that we know.
Speaker 3 (02:49:58):
Somebody said Rick Morandi's is given the eulogy. What a
good one? All right?
Speaker 4 (02:50:02):
So anyway, that's off the tax so h so, I,
well maybe it is. Uh so what picture You're sitting
at the funeral? You don't know, and the two people
sitting next to you are Calvin Speedy Wilburn and Andy Blanks.
Okay to the people who struggle with second hand embarrassment
more more than really abound the planet. And I lean
(02:50:22):
over to you and say, by the way, Biden's doing
the eulogy, current day, modern day Biden's doing the eulogy.
Speaker 3 (02:50:29):
Was that Hunter Biden there too? I don't know, No,
I think he's think he is. I think it was him. Oh,
what's his name? They said that Hunter Biden, hunter Biden's.
Speaker 4 (02:50:42):
Is it true that Hunter Biden's home, like a caller said,
in California, is burning in these fires?
Speaker 3 (02:50:47):
The top his head, you see the tallest it.
Speaker 8 (02:50:49):
Did look like the top of Hunter Biden's head. I'll
give you. I'll give you that.
Speaker 3 (02:50:53):
Yeah, okay, I thought y'all said Hunter Biden is a head.
Yes he is? All right, so the I'm sorry, what
did you say? I was totally focusing on is it
true that his house is burning?
Speaker 8 (02:51:01):
That's what I heard. I've heard it on this show, though.
Speaker 4 (02:51:04):
That means nothing in this in these fires, which explains
this headline the state of Arizona, Arizona.
Speaker 3 (02:51:11):
Everybody high. Yeah, that's it. But where that smoke goes?
Speaker 8 (02:51:17):
So that's Josh Grandson, it is who Greg made.
Speaker 3 (02:51:21):
No, I didn't. I didn't know what that was.
Speaker 4 (02:51:23):
Thought Alt Adler from the text line A marine wants
to know. Did you notice the wrinkles in the flag
on the on the casket. That's not normal and that
would be something we're supposed to ask?
Speaker 12 (02:51:35):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (02:51:36):
That front sign?
Speaker 8 (02:51:39):
What sign of what?
Speaker 5 (02:51:40):
You know?
Speaker 8 (02:51:40):
What it means? It's a Q drop q q andon.
Speaker 3 (02:51:43):
Dog whistle, dog whistle people. People are saying Hunter Biden's
house did not burn. Okay, no it did. They did.
I'm sorry, excuse me.
Speaker 8 (02:51:50):
Yeah, I've heard both on this show, so I don't
know what.
Speaker 3 (02:51:54):
Such a but but but I don't.
Speaker 4 (02:51:59):
I still am back to I don't understand. You know,
sometimes plans change. Hey, Biden was asked to give this eulogy,
you know, twenty years ago or ten years ago.
Speaker 3 (02:52:07):
Okay, well not now? How about they go? You know,
the fact he's snoring as we speak maybe not a
good idea. Is it possible this grandson has bumped Biden?
He may have?
Speaker 9 (02:52:16):
Could do you think do you think Trump maybe asked
Obama if he wants to take care of Biden's ceremony
while we're.
Speaker 3 (02:52:21):
Here, Clinton wants to turn and me over look at
you got that. Look, well he's mad because he's having
to sit next to Hillary. Yeah, well this is there's
so many things, and yes, but really there's three week
Can I say this if I wanted Jimmy Carter? You know,
somebody said, I hope this goes well today, which certainly
we wish that for the family. I know it doesn't
(02:52:41):
sound like it sometimes, but we do.
Speaker 22 (02:52:43):
Sure.
Speaker 3 (02:52:43):
I think I would let Obama do it. Yeah, Obama
would do it, do it greatly. A good choice. He's
been running the country anyway, right, he needs a bird.
Speaker 8 (02:52:52):
I wonder if everybody's gonna get a letter, like a
secret letter like they did it.
Speaker 3 (02:52:55):
But Senior skin, now here we go.
Speaker 8 (02:52:57):
You guys know what I'm talking.
Speaker 19 (02:52:58):
About in the letter.
Speaker 2 (02:53:00):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, the Voice of Wison
in an Unreasonable World, the Rick Burchers Show.
Speaker 3 (02:53:20):
Here we go, Here we go, Here we go. So
we're working our way back. We thank you for being
with us. Today's side and a shot right out.
Speaker 8 (02:53:32):

Speaker 3 (02:53:38):
All right, So things you need to know.
Speaker 4 (02:53:42):

be there. We've got to Grainger Smith. He'll be on
the show tomorrow, he'll be speaking. Hugh Freese, he's on
the show next week. He'll be speaking there. Andy Blanks,
George Wright will be speaking. I'll be speaking. Chuck hooton
doing worship and of course all the brand new resources

the country who are already doing our curriculum. You can
(02:54:48):
interact with them. You can share stories, talk about what's working,
ask some questions. You can do that, So make plans
to be with us. Then on to Panama City February
the twenty first and twenty second will be their first
Baptist church in Panama City. They'll be hosting us Gardendale
Baptist host us in Birmingham and there Pastor Dean and Sarah, who,
(02:55:10):
by the way, is gonna be on the show coming up.
As a matter of fact, we'll solidify that he wrote
to many Coop books, but Unsaved Christian probably the one
we've talked about the most.
Speaker 3 (02:55:18):
Here.
Speaker 4 (02:55:19):
He'll be speaking, also Ted Traylor, who's outstanding speaker. Pastor
will be speaking, Rich Wingo will be speaking, I'll be speaking,
Andy Blank's Chuck Houghton doing the worship, and Greg and
Speedy will be there, and possibly Adler if he doesn't
have family obligations yet. Greg and Speedy will be there
for sure. And then on to February twenty eighth, and
(02:55:40):
then March one, Jeff Strucker, who I'm also working to
get on the show, what a fascinating story. Outstanding speaker,
Scott Dawson, as you know, he'll be there speaking, also
Pastor Landing there with Hebron who's going to be hosting
us there in the Coola, Georgia. And then Andy Blanks
and I will speak in Chuck Hooton there too, and
yes a Speedy and Greg will be there as well,
(02:56:02):
and possibly Adlers.
Speaker 3 (02:56:03):
So find those at the man Church dot com.
Speaker 4 (02:56:06):
Get your tickets, and we sure do look forward to
seeing all of you coming up in January, at the
end of January, and then of course end of February
as well, in a little smidge of March. All right,
so here is an email that we just got everybody
talking about things because we're building now. So we you know,
we've got enough, we got new things, fresh things. Let's
(02:56:26):
try this a little bit of that. Somebody says, enjoin
the new show. I love the new mics. They really
do sound great. While I was listening the other day,
I happen to think of a possible segment for Greg.
We all know that he loves to bring up the
planet Uranus. See there and then the guy he does
a pun. He says, it always cracks me up.
Speaker 3 (02:56:48):
Oh that's good. Funny about that down Jeffy.
Speaker 4 (02:56:52):
I was thinking Greg could do something like Professor Greg's
fun facts about Uranus.
Speaker 3 (02:56:58):
Okay, and maybe.
Speaker 4 (02:56:59):
Once every couple of weeks he brings an interesting fact
about the planet Uranus and gets that out of his system.
So and and then you could make a deal that
he can only talk about the planet when he has
an update ready, and.
Speaker 3 (02:57:13):
We can use like thirty days in the whole.
Speaker 10 (02:57:15):
I like that.
Speaker 3 (02:57:16):
I got to study study a.
Speaker 4 (02:57:19):
Little Scott, Yeah, Scott Scott. And he refers to himself
as minion for life God.
Speaker 3 (02:57:25):
So so that's I like it. That's that's not a
bad idea. Studying not not not a bad idea. So know,
enough about about Uranus? Right, think of Ken? Now we
go to red Yeah right, okay, I gotta see you.
That's that's that right, There is not a bad sess.
(02:57:47):
You know, they found a new moon there.
Speaker 4 (02:57:49):
Here we go, and you know, Greg, you will be
the person that leads to this planet's name being changed.
Speaker 3 (02:57:56):
It will be you if they didn't have enough sense
to realize what was happening. And I know is a
long time ago. I get it dead forever. But and
we're pronouncing it wrong. Yeah, that's what it is supposed
to be, unus. I don't think that. Well then why
does everybody called uranus? That's all I want to speaking
of that. Okay, let me let me see, let me
(02:58:19):
see if I can get through this. Let me see
if I can get through this. Okay, you cloud, let's see, Greg,
it's going to be a new segment. Let's consider it.
But but listen to but listen, but listen to this,
listen to this, right, Okay, I'm already I've already thought
of three T shirts. All right, so listen, all right,
so listen listen. You know how you this is not
(02:58:43):
this is not this is not new here because we
talked about it many times. But and NOWT I may
have to part mix. Now, guys, these commercials of all
these drugs they're supposed to have you and they start
hitting the side effects and believe it or not, the
word you just used, okay, please don't say it. No, okay,
only when I'm talking about the planet, right, I'm sitting there,
(02:59:06):
and you know how sometimes you go I never heard
that one before, because you know, you get you almost get,
you get numb to the fact that all these drugs
are supposed to be so great for us, except for
the fact that they kill you as you're taking them,
a lot of them. So hey, it saved my life.
Why I die from the side effects.
Speaker 4 (02:59:21):
But they literally put in you remember the time that
we all absolutely stopped eating any potato chi up or
any snack that had that was it a less was
less whatever?
Speaker 3 (02:59:34):
That fake fat? Yeah, what was it called?
Speaker 4 (02:59:37):
Lest something whatever it was, and you remember one of
the side effects involved what you just said, and then
a lestra and in the term leakage, yes, Rick, and
that was it's hard and that was it.
Speaker 3 (02:59:50):
And I never ate another one. Yeah, I listen to
all these effects. I don't know nothing bother that one
got me. Well, I don't I don't evenmember what. I
don't even I don't even remember what the drug was.
I literally was not even paying it tention to the
commercial I was. I was doing something else, not even
listening to the voice scout, and all of a sudden
he said, all of a sudden, he said the planets. Okay,
(03:00:12):
and that's what it's called. I mean he said.
Speaker 4 (03:00:15):
One side effect is alert doctor immediately, which he would immediately.
Was not necessary, okay, okay, and no need no, I
didn't need to worry immediately. And it said if you
have the planet infection, could cause that was in the list, yes,
and said could cause it there and the next thing
(03:00:36):
in line on your body, anything in that area develop
an affection, an infection if it does, contact your doctor immediately.
I don't need immediately, now, I got if I've got
an infection anywhere around there, how about this.
Speaker 3 (03:00:52):
I've got I've got the cell phone and I've got
it lit up. We're calling. I mean, if you got
to put a mirror in the Florence stand over to
see Hey, look I'm scrollingn text. Yeah, okay, I.
Speaker 8 (03:01:02):
Forgot about Olestra. It was it was part of those
wow chips.
Speaker 3 (03:01:05):
Oh yeah, it was awful.
Speaker 8 (03:01:06):
And it was like supposed to be lower quality but
lower calorie, I guess terrible.
Speaker 3 (03:01:11):
And y'all this was on the bag, the bag of chips.
Speaker 4 (03:01:13):
I told you it was on there. That's why we
stopped eating. I mean, I thought, well, I'll tell you
one thing.
Speaker 3 (03:01:18):
They named it right. Wow, Yeah, they named it right.
But don't you think? Okay, are you just hope? I
listen now? One now?
Speaker 4 (03:01:26):
No, now, let's go. Now, let's just go to the
to the conference room. And we're pitching the potato chips.
Wow okay, and somebody wows right, and somebody says, all right,
so let's talk about it.
Speaker 3 (03:01:36):
Anybody to talk about Wow?
Speaker 4 (03:01:37):
Let me tell you that you want to tell you
the good news first, Rick, Yeah, let me hear the
good news. The good news is these are gonna be
chips that won't have these trans fats that we've demonized
now only to find out later that a lot of
fats are actually good for your brain. That's why people
don't are stupid. Now, But anyway, so brilliant. Yeah so
the uh but but so we're gonna do that. So
these are just gonna be like you need to pat
chips you normally eat it said it didn't have all
the bad in it. Well, it doesn't have that bad
(03:01:59):
in it. Okay, so we've added a new band. Anybody
seeing obstacle to the Wild Trips making it? Yeah, let's
go to Greg in the back y except for the
fact that we're gonna have to put on the bag.
Speaker 3 (03:02:09):
Side effect? What are we talking about? What? What kind
of side effect we're talking about? Well, it's what do
we some hives break out? Maybe bumps? What do we
talk to chills of some kind? What kind of side
effect we're talking about? Spacey head?
Speaker 22 (03:02:24):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (03:02:24):
Now we're we're talking leakage? Uh? Where where's the leakage from?
You're not gonna do nothing.
Speaker 4 (03:02:30):
Like this the minute somebody told me we have to
put in our bag enjoy these except for the leakage,
I mean.
Speaker 3 (03:02:37):
I would have said, yeah, got be really good.
Speaker 6 (03:02:39):
Thing.
Speaker 3 (03:02:40):
This thing is regretta had to be the best tip
you've ever imagined to put up on that side of it. Yeah,
I know, I got justified. I don't want it.
Speaker 4 (03:02:47):
I don't want an infection there, I don't want leakage there,
and I don't want a planet named after No.
Speaker 13 (03:02:53):
No.
Speaker 4 (03:02:54):

available from yesterday.
Speaker 3 (03:04:19):
All right, so I can address that. Okay, So let's
do you want to do that?
Speaker 4 (03:04:26):
Okay, So we got some calls standing by, and I'll
try not to take up the entire segment with this.
So and we're living in the time of misinformation and
you know, and disinformation and all that. So some of
you are asking why we have started the first few
days and not allowing the chat room and the.
Speaker 3 (03:04:49):
Comments on the YouTube channel.
Speaker 4 (03:04:51):
And I can answer that, and and I tried to
give you an idea of it, but apparently some of
you did not understand or didn't listen to what said.
What I'm saying is in the society that we now
live in, and trust me, we deal with it every
single day.
Speaker 3 (03:05:07):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (03:05:08):
We are living in a society now where people are deranged,
people are disconnected, mental health seems to be skyrocketing, a
lot of evil is out there. And what we were
saying is, obviously, if you're someone who enjoys the chat
room and you chat, you talk, that's not addressing you.
And we're not even talking about necessarily that you are
(03:05:30):
that way. What I'm saying is some of you not
all of you, some of you use these platforms to
perpetuate lies about us, lies about me, And so when
you do that, you know you can say, well, you know,
suck it up. That comes with the territory, and of
course it does. You can address me, you can complain,
(03:05:51):
you can have a legitimate concern, but when you have
a platform and you use it to perpetuate lies, you
may be no problem whatsoever. But based on the day,
and I'll just leave it at this that I had yesterday,
other people see these things who may not be like you,
perfectly normal, just upset, don't like something. They may be deranged,
(03:06:14):
they may be mentally ill, and they may be disconnected,
and it makes them take what really are lies. Most
of the time, anything that we really upset people, you
can be disappointed. But when you start going further and
making lies, then you put us in danger with these people.
(03:06:35):
Not you necessarily, but there are If you don't think,
if you don't watch the news every day and you're
not living in the real world, I say, we're broadcasting
from the real world, surely you know that there are
some really wicked, deranged people out there and we all
need to be more responsible. Rick burgess included on the
(03:06:56):
things that we post and the things that we say,
you know, behind closed doors or under nicknames. And then
somebody sees that and says, well, that must be true,
and I'm gonna be the person to right that wrong
or I'm gonna be the person to to to handle that,
and and then it turns into what we are legitimately
dealing with, and that's death threats. Okay, So we're having
(03:07:20):
to go through that right now, and I'm gonna get
into the details and it and it and it was
perpetuated by people posting lies that this person took its
truth and now they're gonna be the big person that
solves it for everybody, okay, And and they have, they have,
they have put our lives in danger. So that's what
we're talking about. It's not being mean, it's not being
(03:07:43):
an ego maniac. It's not hey, you y'all can't take criticism. No,
we're talking about not being dangerous. And frankly, some of
you are incredibly reckless on the things you post. And
you may be no threat at all, and you just
you know, you're mad, and that's perfectly fine, but you
do have responsibility that when these things go out, crossing
(03:08:04):
state lines and going everywhere that you can put people
in danger.
Speaker 3 (03:08:08):
That's it. That's why we're not allowing it now. When
we get to the point where we think, you know,
probably that has passed and you know, people, I don't
know how many more times you know, it's so that
that's why that is going on right now, and there's
no other reason for it. So anything else you're thinking,
anything else you've put in your mind, anything you've come
(03:08:30):
up with, is incorrect. That's the reason.
Speaker 4 (03:08:33):
And we weren't even gonna say that. We were just
gonna let you trust us on it. But apparently it
is something that you are really wanting to ask over
and over about. Hey, I'm not going to do this,
and I'm not gonna do that if y'all not gonna
let us do this and you think we're all deranged,
never said that. I didn't say that everybody's deranged, But
I am saying there's a lot of deranged people out there,
and I'm.
Speaker 3 (03:08:53):
Sorry, that's just a fact. And if you don't know that,
you're incredibly naive and you're living in a fake world.
And some of this is irresponsible and it has caused danger.
That's why. So there you go to the phones, we go,
I can I clarify something?
Speaker 6 (03:09:09):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (03:09:09):
Sure.
Speaker 9 (03:09:10):
Somebody asked the question, you know, I'm going to be
down at Morgan Academy hunting this coming weekend, down in
you know, Selma and great great academy. Well, a gentleman said,
since I'm going to be down in that area. I
was in Maringo Academy in two thousand and two and
I went hunting, and there is a story out that
I had a chance to hunt high fence and I missed.
Speaker 3 (03:09:33):
And that's not true. That's not a true story, he said,
Can you tell me if this is true? Oh, somebody's
posted something else that's not true. Yeah. No, I never
holded a high fence and that hunt and miss anything.
Right to Jared and Penson. Jared, welcome to the show.
Speaker 26 (03:09:48):
Go ahead, Hey fellas, how y'all doing this one?
Speaker 3 (03:09:52):
We're doing great.
Speaker 5 (03:09:52):
Man.
Speaker 3 (03:09:54):
I just wanted to.
Speaker 26 (03:09:55):
Say, first off, I love the show.
Speaker 3 (03:09:58):
Rick.
Speaker 26 (03:09:58):
Yesterday, I I got the chance to see and here's
your Bible study for the first time. And this is
a time where I'm trying to myself get a little
bit closer to God and everything good, and I wanted
to say that it was an amazing Bible study. I
learned a lot in it, and I just wanted to
(03:10:19):
say that I appreciate you for doing all you do.
Speaker 4 (03:10:22):
Well, thank you for saying that. Yeah, I thought I
got sure to get a lot out of that too.
I learned a lot yesterday and I thought I thought
it was important.
Speaker 3 (03:10:28):
I thought that was a topic that especially based on
really what I just said a minute ago about understanding
you know, demons and angels and what the Bible actually
says about that. So that's kind of you to say that.
And if I can help you in any other way
in your desire to grow, please don't hesitate to reach
out to me. Let's go to Chester out of Gurley, Chester.
(03:10:50):
Go ahead.
Speaker 10 (03:10:52):
Hey, I was gonna see if anybody wants to earn
Hernandez documentary last night.
Speaker 3 (03:10:59):
Which one spend so many of them? Which one is this?
Speaker 10 (03:11:02):
There is a new one, but I'm gonna save you
the time. Because they blamed it all on the culture
of football, the physical abuse of football, toxic masculinity, and
they said that hed done all this because they couldn't
come out as a homo.
Speaker 3 (03:11:19):
And oh yeah, no I did.
Speaker 4 (03:11:22):
I did see that as a matter of fact, and
you know this is once again no, Aaron Hernandez probably
was a murderer because he was he was evil.
Speaker 3 (03:11:31):
Yeah. Uh, Brian and Alabama. Brian, go ahead, Hey guys, I.
Speaker 13 (03:11:36):
Hope you all are doing well. Thank you for the kingdom,
thank you for your stance.
Speaker 5 (03:11:41):
Uh.
Speaker 24 (03:11:41):
And after those last two serious phonecalls before but Fermanda Steel, Uh,
just praise God. Hope y'all stay safe and let me
do a one eighty and completely turn everything around real quick,
because I know it's foul. I was at the stoplight
the other day. I am a logistics sixpo dieter across
the state of Alabama, which become a truck door. And
(03:12:03):
I'm sitting here with tears rolling down my face, laughing
at boy's heavy daddy. Boy's heavy daddy, boys, heppy daddy.
Speaker 13 (03:12:11):
And that's the second time that this has happened to me.
The guy beside me blew the horn. I rolled down
to the window. He said, he you okay, what's wrong?
I said, I'm listening to Rick and Buffa back then
now or now the Rick Burgers show. He said to
me too, and he was just dying. And I told
Greg that I was. By the way, I'm a Minions member.
I would love for you guys. I want the show
(03:12:34):
to come up with a hand signal that we can give.
Speaker 3 (03:12:36):
Each other a hand signal saying, uh, look, my issue
is I'm listening to the show.
Speaker 4 (03:12:41):
That's not a bad idea. By the line, thanks for
all you do, Brian, Thanks buddy.
Speaker 2 (03:12:45):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
