The Wellington Blaze and Firebirds open their respective domestic cricket Super Smash campaigns on Thursday when both host Otago at the Basin Reserve.
They'll then both host Auckland in the annual Christmas At the Basin event on Christmas Eve.
The Firebirds finished fifth in last season's men's competition, and the Blaze were beaten finalists in the women.
Adam Cooper was joined by the Firebirds' Logan van Beek and the Blaze's Nicole Baird to chat about the new season.
