Speaker 1 (00:00):
Let's look ahead at the wider action in Wellington Premier
Club Rugby today. On a busy day for rugby, Max
Rodgers out of the Wellington Rugby Union is with us
wanting to Max, I'm good mates. Well the rain is
forecast across some of the weekend, but three rounds to
go on the Swindale Shields are things looking exciting? Max.

(00:20):
Still a lot to play for for both of these teams,
obviously OBU with a six point lead at the top
of the table, but for Tony Hrdlby's Marriston orients a
wrong attire among those running out the top four, but
it's still very interesting in terms of when that cutoff
will happen in a couple of weeks time. Let's start
off though out at Fraser Park today, Max Avalon hosting
Marison Pats.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
Yeah, fourteenth place Avalon hosts eighth place Marrison Pats. This
game being played for the Joe Hasbull Cup. Avalon now
only wins this team this year's competition ter suffering defeats
of Wellington nineteen points thirteen, while MSP currently seen hates.
They're in touching distance of third place, so it's quite
tight in the middle of that a lot of epes.
Last week they narrowly lost to Paterni and they were

(01:02):
looked for the four or five points to give them
some safety in that top eight all right.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
Also at the earlier time of two fifteen today Max
Helston Park johnsonble playing Panicky.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
Yeah death place Johnsable hosting eleventh place Pornikee. This being
played for a new inter club trophy than Nuluta fully Shield.
The two teams both need results to go their way,
both their own and obums if they want a chance
at cracking the top eight, so expect this game to
be a close one today with both sides suffering defeats
last week and they've both been needing to bounce back.

(01:32):
Last week Jabll they went down to the Huddlebleys Maris
forty eight points to thirty two and Pornicky they held
the leading against Oorries at the seventy fourth minute before
Alorays ran away with the flurry of mate tries to
win forty one points to twenty three all right.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
In a battle of cover of Northern teams, North hosting
Tawer at Jerry Collins Stadium. Pretty important match up for Tawa,
This one.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
A Yeah it was for sure twelfth place North hosting
seventh place Tawer this game for the Semisoli Memorial Trophy Norse.
They've held the twelfth position for a while now, on
a confirmed for the Heart and Cup. In round two.
Last week, they suffered a heavy loss.

Speaker 3 (02:04):
To Upper Halt thirty eight points to twelve, and they'll
need a boot performance today to beat Tawer, who last
week just beat Winery and Marta by one point to
take the Bill Bryant Challenge Cup off of their hands.
Although Stevens on the table tower and touching distance of
third place Huddle Boys and Maras all right.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
Top one for Oridy Enter Wrong a tie back at
home and important game for them hosting the competition leaders. Old
Boys University.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
Yeah, big game this week with fourth place Oriented on
the Tide hosting first place Old Boys University, last year's
Stubilee Cup winners, taking on the current Swindow Shield front
Runners and merrima Ari's. They'll be confident they can played
for eight against over You today after scoring three tries
in the last seven minutes to run away from Pornikey.
Last week over You, they cruised by Puttamu to plymouthon

(02:48):
and a game that most would have expected to be
much closer last week they announced at six points clear
of second place for Tony, and they'll look to maintain
that gap to get one hand on the Swindow Shield.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
Here wonderful. Another piece of silverware being played for pretty iconic.
This one the annual clash between Pattoni and Hullo Boys
Marist at the Patni Reck.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
Yeah. Second place Patoni hosting third place Huddle Boys Maris.
This game being played for Miss mcvains shield, one of
the highlighted club trophies up for grabs today at Patoni Reck.
Both teams that second and third respectfully, after putting large
scores on the opponents last week to walk away with
maximum competition points. This game serves as much more than
a regular matchup for both sides, though, as bragging rights

(03:31):
for the Lower Hut region are on the line today
and especial mention to Sam tour NeSSI, who plays his
fiftieth games today for Battoni and Brett Manaiah plays his
one hundred for Huddle Boys Marit.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
Yeah, Brilliant and more on that game shortly here on
the All Sport Breakfast Slit's head back north though the
Nazi towards domain power Plumb hosting the Weddington.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
X Men that sixth places Partamus Plimoton hosting thirteenth place
Wellington Partamuch Flimton. They stuff at a big loss last
week to the top of the table over you, but
don't expect that then to let that phase them, they
take on the x Men, who's today who last week
broke their forty three match losing run, picking up their
first one in one eighty five days. So they'll look

(04:11):
to build on that momentum today now that spirits are
high and the x Men got back in the winners
column last week.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
Very good, and then Upper Hut rams up against star winer.
We what do we expect to happen out there at
Matstone today?

Speaker 2 (04:24):
Be an interesting one for sure. Upper Hut currently sitting
first with Winuia Mata and Night after Loving Totawa last weekend.
This game being played for the Peter Jones Dave Ritchie Cup.
The Rams. They had a good old timers day last week,
companably betting Norse thirty eight twelve, and today they return
to their home patch to take on Winia Matha, who,
as before mentioned, suffer defeat to Tawer and lost to

(04:47):
Bill Bryant Challenge Cup. But they'll be hungry for a
place in that top eight. Currently sitting seven points outside
of that eight, they'll need the results if they want
to be a late entry into the Jubilee Cup this year.

Speaker 1 (04:56):
You're good to see, still a lot to play for
with these three rounds remaining of the Swindow. And just
to reminder, all those games at the earlier time of
two fifteen this afternoon, obviously due to the Hurricanes kicking
off at fort thirty five and max across to the
Premier Women's Competition playoff time.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
Yeah into the semifinals this week. All these games today
are picking kicking off at eleven am, half an hour
earlier than the usual eleven thirty slot. Starting in the
Tier Passing Memorial Trophy, we've got first place Patni hosting
fourth place Yiamata, the front runners. They're undefeated in twenty
twenty four Patoni. They'll look to maintain their perfect record

(05:34):
and book themselves a ticket to the Tier Passing Memorial
Trophy final next week. Why, they'll need to pour rabbit
out of their hat today to upset p Toni if
they want to shot at the Grand Final next weekend,
which is being held in wy Nouiamata, so a little
something extra for them to play for today. In the
other semi final, we've got second place Northern United taking
on third place Oriented on the tie and also they

(05:55):
beat Ari's last time out thirty three points in nineteen
but finals forty raisers state that much more and I'm
sure neither of these teams will want to leave anything
the chance today as a spot in the Grand Final
next week awaits one of them, and then in the
izzy Ford Cup. Part of uch Plymouthon waiting to see
who the winners are today and who they'll face in
the izzy Ford Cup final. That will either be Pornikey

(06:16):
and over You, who is currently second against Avalonte Line
in the third a rematch of last week's games. There
is pornick In over You hosting Avalon. Last week the
Pornicky over You outfit picked up their first one of
the year and in convincing fashion too, running an eight
tries against the she Wolves Avalon. They'll need to bounce
back and to book themselves a date with Partamoch Plymouton

(06:39):
next weekend for the izzey Ford Cup. Final, but they'll
face a tough task today after I've been told they
won't have their star number eight Hasna More due to
an unfortunate injury.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
Alright, well, playoff time for both the t PRC Memorial
and azzy Ford Cup, so we will have those progress
scores and results as they come in through the afternoon
as well along with the plays. Window shields are happening,
so Max appreciate the pre you as always stay dry.
I have a great weekend. We'll jet again next Saturday,
Jess Max Rodgers from the Wellington Rugby Union. It's also
a top of the table clash and hot if anyway

(07:09):
carpity today is Foxton hope to put a dean to
the armor of Runaway Leaders at Ahui when they host them.
Lilevin Domain is the scene of the derby match between
Wanderers and College Old Boys and he put a part
of Umu Domain is the venue for the clash between
the home team and old Foes. Why can I Shannon
has the buy in that competition today and the halfway
point of the second round robin has reached today and

(07:29):
wided up a Bush Leaders marister at home against East
Coast and Marsterden, Carterton, Across Town visiting Red Star, Greattown
make the Treek North to face Eckatahuna and after more
than a month since they last played on their home field,
martin Borough are back. They get to do that when
they host Pioneers. That's how things stack up in wider
club rugby around the region. College rugby two matches of

(07:51):
the Premiership have already been played for this round. On Wednesday,
Archieson's sixty ninth minute drop goal and some last gasp
defense saw Wellington col pip silver Stream twenty seven twenty
four in their traditional clash, while earlier in the day
and Mastered and winded up a College had beaten Tawa
thirty four to nineteen and what doubled is their annual
Sports Exchange game. Three matches today see sam Pats Town

(08:13):
looking to follow up their big win over Scott's when
they host Putt Potter Umu at Evans Bay. Scott's looking
to rebounds when they visit Hut International at the NZEDCIS campus.
The third match you'll see Wrong atie Head to Lower
Hut and a meeting with Saint Bernard's. They'll be at
one o'clock this afternoon. Fifth round will be underway midweek
as well, with silver Stream hosting Wrongatai in another series
of traditionals. For more from News Talks ad B, listen
