Speaker 1 (00:00):
Let's talk local football though and the Central League. Dale
Warburton back with us morning to you, Dale.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Ye're good out here? You going yeah good?

Speaker 1 (00:07):
Thank you Dale. Well, let's get into the day's action
and across the weekend today and tomorrow. Obviously just a
few weeks remaining in the Central League for many of
these teams, says the next phase of the season comes closer.
But let's start off Dale today with Island Bay United
hosting third place Napier City Rovers at one forty five
this afternoon.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
Yeah, yes, Island Bay. I'd be pretty happy. They're coming
off a good four one win over North Wellington to
leap frog North Wellington to eighth place, but more importantly
seven points of relegations. They really put a pretty solid
buffer between them and stop out at the bottom with
just a handful of games to go. Nape said, they
fired two relatively late goals to be phiirly depleted Phoenix

(00:49):
side too nil. They're's all well on track to be
one of the top three side to qualify for the
National League, so they're going in a pretty good space.
I see their top goal scorer Oscill forwards is currently
training training slash trialing. Not sure which one with the
Phoenix at the moment, so obviously his former has caught
the eye of the club. But you'd think despite the travel,
Nature should be pretty comfortable there at Wakefield all.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
Right, and then at Mirama the Murmur Rangers at David
Farrington back home hosting North Wellington or down the lower
end of the table.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
Yeah, mrma run out massive nine would mine Niler winners
over p Tony last week. I'm as surprise you got
me back after last week. I suggest that Tony might
have a chance of getting some points out of that
so well well insure of the off the black path
there a double to Martin Bueno and Andy Bevan and
Sam Mason Smith and then a hat trick to Josh

(01:40):
probably secured the wind there for them. And as mentioned,
North runings and lost last week to Ireland Bay A
pretty disappointed with that result given they have a pretty
tough run and they've got Potoni next next week and
then West's Nature City Rovers and Olympus, so they got
four of the top five sides left to play, so
they might not get many points out of the last
few rounds league, so that might open it up a

(02:01):
little bit for Stopout, but you'd expect the Momar to
be pretty comfortable and put the Prescire probably back on
West for a top three spot.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
Yeah, okay, then we've got Waterside Krori traveling to stop
out at hot Park, Waterside Kroy obviously trying to sort
of shore up sixth spot there.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
Yeah, probably not a lot much to play for for
water Side Kory, and you needn't quite tell how how
that kind of plays out in terms of field, whether
they sort of get comfortable and sort of drop their
standards for stop out is looking pretty close to a
must one game they for the last in their last
five games, they need at least two wins, probably two
wins in a draw. It's pretty tough ask after because

(02:40):
after this game got Murmur ranges West and the Phoenix,
so their best chances today and then the game against
Alan Bay in a few weeks, so pretty long odds
for them to avoid relegation even this far out. And
what side Cory bt them comfortably for one, went for
one earlier in the season, so you'd think Corey should
should have it too much their out.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
All right, Dale, and then after Patony let you down
last week, are you going to give them any chance
against second place Western Suburbs today.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
No, I'll leave the productions alone this week, but yeah,
I guess I'm the top three. West are probably the
most vulnerable dropping out that the six points clear of Mrima,
but I have played an extra game, so that could
drop down to the three if Urrama I would catch
up game. They do have a relatively easy runner and
they've got Patoni the suit obviously and then stop out
next week in North Wellington and then finished with next

(03:28):
to two rovers, so they've got us a bunch of
play teams down the bottom end of the table, so
they will be favourites today in that top three. But yeah,
like Tony, they Patony like don't have too much to
play for given this at the mid table there, so
expect that should be pretty comfortable when for Western Suburbs.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
Awesome that one tomorrow at two o'clock. Dale, appreciate your
time as always, Seve a great weekend. We'll catch up
next week too. Checked it in cheers Dale. Little will
be in there with our football here on the All
Sport breakfasts. So yeah, coverage of all those games today
here on at Newstalk Z and the Women's Central League
Wellington United at a one point lead after eight rounds

(04:05):
over Waterside Carori who are close by in second. So
today's games and the Women's Central Legal see Patoni hosting
Sea Tune at eleven o'clock at the Patoni Memorial one Turf,
water Side Karori up against the Wellington United Diamonds at
Karori Park. That is the top of table clash and
certainly one that yeah, we'll see provided one of the

(04:27):
team gets an outright win go above the other in
the top of the table. So yeah, big opportunity for
Waterside Krori in particular to take the lead over at
Wellington United in that competition. So that's at midday at
Karrori Park. Motadola are hosting Palmerston North Marist and then
tomorrow Victoria University have the trip up to meet Taradale.

(04:48):
So that's how the games stack up and the Women's
Central League today. For more from News Talks b listen
