The prestigious and highly sought-after Woodward Cup Interclub Men’s Competition kicks off this weekend at the Harewood Golf Club. 

Canterbury Golf CEO Blair Minton joined Lesley Murdoch, in association with Elmwood Trading Company, to give an update on the teams and an insight into who to keep an eye out for in 2025.

The Tactix have secured their first ever ANZ Premiership title, dethroning the Mystics 58-46. 

A week on from their victory, Lesley Murdoch was joined by coach Donna Wilkins, who paid tribute to the team’s efforts and gave some insights into what’s been happening since the championship.

A fixture of the Pegasus Golf Club, Terry Waghorn is a North Canterbury golfing legend. 

He’s the Golf Operations Manager at the club, starting, and managing, one of the longest running tournaments in Canterbury – the Pegasus Mid Week Tournament.

He’s not only the Handicapping and Golf Services Manager for Golf NZ, Phil Aicken is also an extremely credentialled golf referee.

A desire for more playing time has seen hooker Ioane Moananu make the difficult decision to end a three-year stint with the Crusaders and sign with the Waratahs for the 2026 Super Rugby season.

The 24-year-old produced several eye-catching performances across 12 appearances during the Crusaders' most recent title-winning run this year, scoring five tries.

Backyard ultra running.

If you don't know what a backyard ultra is - it's an ultra marathon where runners repeatedly run a 6.7 kilometre loop starting on the hour every hour until only one runner remains.

The last runner to complete a loop is declared the winner.
