It's a busy, busy, busy day to hear, understand, and

(00:48):
form some very strong opigions. This is your morning show.

So much to talk about. When we last left off
on Friday, the narrative was being set Joe Biden was
so awful, it's probably not fit to be president twenty
fifth Amendment, let alone continue this race. The other side

(01:30):
of the narrative was and Donald Trump's nothing but a liar. Well,
now the narrative is turned to gaslight two point zero.
So we have the Philadelphia Inquirer calling on Trump to
step down and drop out of the race after his
debate performance, not Biden's. Trump's his litany of lies disqualify him. Meanwhile,

(01:50):
Biden's campaign has sent out emails to supporters on how
to defend him and respond to critics as they get
into how to gaslight. RFA address the possibility of Biden
taking Biden's place on the ticket with Chris Cuomo, I
don't like to leave you hanging with a teas he's open.
An eighty four year old Nancy Pelosi came to the

(02:11):
rescue of eighty one year old Joe Biden on his
debate performance and the percentage of increase of voters who
think he should drop out of the race has increased dramatically. Obviously,
a big topic of the conversation today is Joe Biden.
Will he run by the way? Later in our Journey
of discovery, Aaron Rail's gettingady join us. We're going to
do not so fast. If Biden, and only Biden can

(02:33):
decide not to run and release his delegates, there'll still
be some legal issues for a couple of three swing states,
to be exact, Georgia, Nevada, and Wisconsin. And we'll talk
about how that works in our Journey of Discovery coming
up in about thirty minutes. All right, Aaron Rayle, National Correspondent,
your morning show, Good morning, and let's take a look
at Joe Biden. One thing he has to do is

(02:54):
keep the checks flowing. How'd that go this weekend?

Speaker 3 (02:57):
Honestly, shockingly not bad. And I say that after Thursday's performance,
I'm surprised he was able to bring in thirty three
million in total fund raising. His camp had essentially what
was a planned victory lap, obviously not a victory lap,
but he was out in the Hamptons, he he was
in New Jersey at Governor Murphy's house. He stopped by

(03:19):
stonewall in in the West Village for an LBGTQ event.
He raised thirty three million total fundraising twenty six million
in grass roots. Twelve million alone came from that New
Jersey event. But people are reporting at these events it
was joyless, it was overly controlled. There was teleprompters, very

(03:41):
little one on one time. And if you need those
big ticket downers, its grasproots is wonderful, but you can
quickly do the math. Thirty three million in total, twenty
six million grassroots. He needs a lot of big checks.
And if you can't get one on one time with
the guy that you're writing a massive check for, you're less.
You're more reluctant to write that check. And beyond that,
if you compare it to Trump, Trump's monthly fundraising, it

(04:03):
more than doubled, and his campaign has one hundred and
sixteen million in terms of cash on hand. Biden He's
raised ninety one million, but obviously less.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
All right, I'm with you, I'm shocked he got thirty
three million dollars. However, thirty three million dollars is a
message in and of itself. I'm looking at Rob Reiner's
quote the morning after the debate. Last night's debate was
a disaster for President Biden, but the choice is still
Crystal clare. We can either lose a good, decent man
who cares about his fellow citizens and knows how to govern,

(04:36):
even though it was a disaster and he's apparently senile,
or we can get a convicted felon who destroyed our democracy.
It's not a tough choice. I think thirty three million
kind of represents the boogeyman Trump more than he's the jolly,
goodfellow Biden. I don't know. I think probably the most
relevant thing is would Joe Biden see thirty three million
dollars as thirty three million reasons to stay in the race,

(04:58):
because that's about all any he's gonna take serious?

Speaker 3 (05:01):
No, yes, the great point it feels a little like
gaslighting at this point where it's like no, he's great,
he's great, and it's like, no, he's not great. If
you hate Trump, that's that's a different thing. And understandably,
like I get it, I get the people that are like,
no anything but Trump. That's actually a more honest argument

(05:23):
than like, no Biden, Biden will be fine. You're like guys,
guys like am I the only one, Like what am
I going mad?

Speaker 4 (05:31):
Like?

Speaker 1 (05:31):
He's not.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
And then beyond that, Biden said in the past when
he was running against Trump, it's because he's doing it
for democracy, that he's the only one who can beat
this man. If he sincerely believes it's for democracy, then
he would step aside. Because on Sunday he went to
Camp David where he met with family in front and
family saw grandchildren, children, and he usually talks with them
before he makes any big decisions. Well, this morning, late

(05:53):
last ninety he said he's not pulling out. So I
don't know. I don't know if that's for democracy.

Speaker 1 (05:57):
Things still fan one of the things. And Rayal is
joining us or your Morning show correspondent the Monday after
the Great Debate disaster, and will he or will he
not drop out of the race is what all of
America is waiting on. I would say, probably the most
the saddest human experience, I just one of fifty million
who watched had is that Joe Biden, in particular, as

(06:21):
a political character over a fifty year period of history
and someone who ran for president many many times, this
is what he's ultimately want. This is his life ambition
to be president. And then he finally gets it, not
really winning it. I mean he did, and I'm not
suggesting yeah, but I'm not suggesting there was like election.
From what I'm saying is, you know, it was an

(06:42):
extraordinary case Time magazine in the Dems, and Klain and
others explain it this way. It was a shadow campaign
to save democracy. There was something more at stake democracy itself.
So we weaponized COVID, we changed election laws. We got
a deal with Joe Biden. Otherwise we would have got
Bernie Sam. I mean that probably didn't feel like a
guy who dominated in the primaries, was it? I think

(07:05):
fourth in Iowa, seventh in New Hampshire. But he gets
in and this has been his lifelong ambition. To me,
the saddest thing was watching a man who all he
ever wanted in life was to be president and now
he finally is, and he's cognitively impaired, and Camp doesn't
have the grip to hang on to it, but I
suspect he has the grip to not let go and

(07:27):
continue to run. And I think that's overall witnessing. And
I brought up sixty four days in we waited for
his first news conference, and I thought it was significant
when it happened he handed a poison apple in immigration
to Kamala Harris, and that sent a signal to me
that they may have daved him into office and then
maybe had plans for him to shuffle off after a

(07:48):
year or two and handed to Kamala and he made
it very clear he's president now and he's not going anywhere.
And I suspect he feels the same way three and
a half years later.

Speaker 3 (07:58):
But yeah, I mean, listen, I think after watching Thursday,
I don't know what he thinks. And I mean I
think it's very clear, like in a lot of ways,
you just elicit sympathy like this is you don't feel
bad for you don't feel like children are intrinsically evil
or old people are being intrinsically evil. They're just little
and old, like you know. They they listed compassion in

(08:20):
most people, and I think that's what a lot of
people are seeing. Maybe those are compassion dollars being thrown
out of the thirty three million, But if you just
look at like the donor numbers, I think that you know,
money is intrinsically value valuable. It gets you things like
you need it to survive. But I don't understand like
why donating under these circumstances does anything for anybody.

Speaker 1 (08:44):
I'll give you a couple of quick stats to kind
of end the conversation. So this is a CBS News
poll in on the ninth of June, Biden does he
have the mental and cognitive health to serve as president?
On the ninth of June, thirty five percent said he does.
By the way, isn't that awful? I mean, even that's

(09:04):
a bad number.

Speaker 3 (09:05):
One. Yeah, that number sixty.

Speaker 1 (09:07):
Five percent, that would be more than enough to carry
a landslide in a general election. Sixty five percent said
he doesn't. That's gone from sixty five to seventy two
percent and down to twenty seven percent who think he's
mentally and cognitively healthy enough to be president. And it
gets even worse. This is among registered Democrat voters. This

(09:31):
gets really scary. Yeah, it's now twenty seven percent. Biden's
seventy two percent don't think he does, fifty percent think
Trump does, forty nine think he doesn't. So and then
when it comes to should Biden be running for president

(09:52):
February of this year, thirty seven percent said should. That's
down to twenty eight should not is from sixty three
to seventy two percent? I mean, these are really really
bad numbers that go beyond that. But all that really
matters is does Joe Biden think? I mean, here's the question,
who could have visited with Joe Biden? Who do we
think in a dream world? I know you need to
run for now, but who do we think could possibly

(10:14):
convince him? Is it Jill? Is it family members? Is
it the Obamas? Is it Podesta? I don't know who
it is, and I think it's only Joe that can decide.
So that's what we're waiting on. In the meantime, we
got all these gaslight games that are being played. We'll
cover more of those a little bit later on. Aaron's
also going to be back talk about record summer travel
starting record heat to go along with it, So make

(10:36):
sure there's plenty of air conditioning. All right. Eron, we'll
talk to you just a little bit seventeen minutes after
the hour. If you're just waking up. These are the
top five stories of the day you need to know.
I think you know what's Number one? Is Biden an
issue of national security? Now? Mark Mayfield has our today.

Speaker 5 (10:57):
In politics, North Dakota Governor Doug Burgham says President Biden
is not capable of serving as commander in chief. That's
what he told NBC's Meet the Press days after Biden
and Donald Trump met for the first presidential debate of
the twenty twenty four election.

Speaker 6 (11:12):
At a greater national security risk today than we were
on Thursday because the commander in chief showed, but he's
not capable of serving.

Speaker 5 (11:19):
Burgham argued that the US is facing a greater national
security risk today because the nation's adversaries saw Biden is
not capable of serving. This comes as calls are growing
for Biden to step aside after he struggled during Thursday's debate.
Bergham is considered to be on Trump's short list for
a vice president, and the Supreme Court is expected to
rule on former President Trump's immunity case today. After the

(11:40):
release of several decisions Friday, Chief Justice John Roberts announced
that Monday is going to be the last decision day
of the term. The case centers around federal charges accusing
Trump of trying to overturn the results of the twenty
twenty election. The decision could impact all of Trump's pending
court cases.

Speaker 1 (11:56):
That's politics. Mark Mayfield, NBC News Radio. Well a few
Democrats to the President's defense following his debate performance, Lisa
Carton reports.

Speaker 7 (12:04):
In an interview with CNN State of the Union, former
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi conceded Biden had a bad night,
but urge voters to look at his record. She argued,
it's not about performance in terms of a debate, but
performance in a presidency. Pelosi also sharply criticized former President Trump,
claiming that Americans are aware of the lies he told

(12:24):
on the debate stage. I'm Lisa Carton.

Speaker 1 (12:27):
Most of the countries expected to suffer from scorching temperatures
for the fourth of July. Chris Karagio reports.

Speaker 6 (12:33):
Record temperatures are expected nationwide, with humidity in the South
making areas such as New Orleans feel close to one.

Speaker 1 (12:40):
Hundred and twenty degrees.

Speaker 6 (12:41):
Parts of Arizona, California, and Nevada could see the temperature
hit near one hundred and fifteen degrees, with both Las
Vegas and Phoenix expected to hit the number around the holiday.
Heat advisories are in effect for much of the East
Coast as well.

Speaker 1 (12:54):
I'm Chris Karagia one more like one hundred and fifty
k for the money. Elvis Presley's his famed blue Swede
shoes have been sold at auction. Lisa Carton has details
well it's one full of money, full of Shelton.

Speaker 7 (13:09):
Elvis Presley's blue Swede shoes have sold for more than
one hundred and fifty thousand dollars. The iconic item from
the King of Rock and Rolls wardrobe was bought by
an American collector based in California as part of an
auction by Henry Aldridge and Son. Presley made the shoes
famous in his cover of Blue Swede Shoes and wore
them for several performances. He gave them to her friend

(13:31):
the night before he left for the Army in nineteen
fifty eight.

Speaker 1 (13:34):
Who kept them until now. I'm Lisa Carton. In Sports
and one, Miles will become the oldest female gymnast to
represent the United States at the Olympic Game since the
nineteen fifties after qualifying for her third Olympic team. She'll
be joined by Sunny Lee, Jordan Chiles, Jade Kerrey, Helsey
Rivera on the women's gymnastics team in Paris. Baseball in

(13:55):
cities of your morning show interest. Cardinals won two to
nothing over the Reds to split that series. Rangers one
eleven to two, big over the O's Dbacks won five
to one over the A's Raised one in a shout
out over the Nats five nothing baffel. The Nats lost,
Guardians lost in Mariner's loss. Birthdays Today, Blondie's Debbie Harry
seventy nine years old. One's It Love, but it was

(14:16):
a long time ago. SNL's Dan Acroyd Ghostbusters, Dan Acroyd's
seventy two. An Actress that Live, Tyler is forty seven.
This is your Morning Show with Michael Deltono. Thanks for
waking up with your morning show on the air and
streaming live on your iHeartRadio app on Michael del Journal
and this show belongs to you. You know, that's a

(14:36):
good reminder in and of itself that we live in
a courtroom of public opinion, and it's important to remind
everybody you're the jury, not me, not Fox News hosts,
not CNN hosts, not the Washington Post, the Atlantic or
anybody else. You All that matters is what you think.

(14:57):
So we had a debate and for fifty million peeople
that watched it was very disturbing. Not a bad debate performance,
the realization and I can't believe it took that that
you've been gaslighted. The president is not okay. Robert Hurr
saw it months ago. You got to see it for

(15:18):
the first time for your own eyes. A cognitively impaired president.
Never mind, should he or shouldn't he run? That should
be a no brainer. Should a twenty fifth Amendment be
enacted in Kamala Harris immediately take over the presidency based
on what a lot of people felt watching. So there's
the realization you were gaslighted. These weren't fake videos. This

(15:43):
isn't a Republican narrative. The president of the United States
is cognitively impaired. Well, what do they do? They just
launched right into gaslight two point zero Philadelphia Inquirer. It's
calling out Donald Trump this morning to drop out after
his debate performance. Let me of lies drop out. The

(16:10):
Biden campaign itself emails supporters with how to defend him
and respond to MAGA critics gaslight two point zero, And
then the question becomes, well, if he does step down,
would RFK maybe slide back in he says he's open.

(16:30):
How would Kamala Harris do. Hey, it's me Michael. Your
morning show can be heard live five to eight am Central,
six to nine Eastern and great cities like Jackson, Mississippi, Akron, Ohio,
or Columbus, Georgia. We'd love to be a part of
your morning routine and we're grateful you're here. Now enjoy
the podcast.

Speaker 8 (16:48):
You know.

Speaker 1 (16:48):
One of the narratives you're going to hear is Joe
Biden was surrounded by family and they just keep reinforcing
over and over again should he stay in the race
after a bad debate performance. I don't think fifty million
people who watched that debate left thinking, Wow, Joe had
a bad debate. Most are like, oh my gosh, the

(17:14):
President of the United States is completely cognitively impaired. But
they want to take it from the shocking revelation of
him being cognitively impaired to it's just a really bad debate.
But his family says, tick it out, Hey, he's eighty

(17:36):
one and just had a bad debate. Eighty four year
old Nancy Pelosi, Well, she kicked off that narrative. Over
the weekend on State of the Union. What is your
reaction to that poll?

Speaker 7 (17:46):
Seventy two percent of voter or say they don't think
that the president is fit mentally or cognitively to be president.

Speaker 4 (17:55):
Well, what do they think about the other guy? Do
they think that he has the integrity to be president?
After that performance? Let us just go, Let us not
make a judgment about a presidency.

Speaker 1 (18:09):
God forbid, Joe Biden passes away. Would they make the
argument that the corpse of the former president would serve
better than the lying, cheating felon. I mean, Nancy Pelosi, Wow,
right up there with meathead Rob Reiner. Last night's debate

(18:33):
was a disaster for President Trump bought. The choice is
still crystal clear. It's crystal clear to Rob Reiner. We
either can choose a good, decent man who cares about
his fellow citizens and knows how to govern, or a
convicted felon who will destroy democracy. Translation, all that's left

(18:56):
is the boogeyman. That's Pelosi telling you sure is awful
and one just awful. It was medically.

Speaker 4 (19:08):
Alarming one debate. Let's talk about what it means to
people in their lives, and that's why you're not seeing
much change in the polls on this, The difference between
Joe Biden and the former president is so clear. If
you are a woman and you care about your reproductive

(19:30):
freedom and your health and women, do you see a
complete difference between force a woman's right to choose on
the part of Joe Biden and a ban on abortion
with the other guy. If you care about job creation
in America, fifteen million more jobs created by Joe Biden.

Speaker 1 (19:48):
That's an eighty four year old taking it through the
talking points that Joe Biden, eighty one year old couldn't
on debate night. What do the polls say, Well, the
polls are pretty crystal clear. Four and five voters have
watched or read about the first presidential debate. Stop right there.

(20:10):
If fifty million people watched, which is a very large number,
and then fifty million talked to two people about it,
now you're at one hundred million. But that's not how
it works. You watch it live. Unfortunately most don't this time,

(20:32):
a lot did. But then you watch the coverage, and
in this particular case, curiosity leads to many wanting to
see it for themselves. Really, how cognitively impaired. Now we
have four and five voters have watched or read about
the first presidential debate. Yes, I watched debate liven percent.

(21:01):
Yes I saw clips twenty three percent. Yes, I read
about the debate just ten percent. Not good for you
writers twenty one percent. No, I didn't watch footage from
the debate or read about it. You can do it
by party. Forty seven percent of Democrats watched, fifty two

(21:23):
percent of Republicans watched. Thirty eight percent of Independence watch
Independence were the least. And that shouldn't shock you why
they know, like either choice, This is the election they
didn't want, This is the rematch they didn't want. That
may be the only glimmer of hope for Joe Biden.

(21:46):
I shared these with Aaron Rayale earlier, but they're very interesting.
It is a CBS flash poll. Should Biden be running
for president in February? Thirty seven percent said should? How
pathetic is that? Less than four and ten thought he
should be running in February. That's down to twenty eight

(22:09):
percent now and seventy two percent who say he should
not be running. He's visiting with family. He should be visiting.
With that poll, does President Biden have the mental and
cognitive health to servis president? You know, Nancy PILSI just

(22:32):
told you. That's why you won't see the polling numbers
changed much since the debate. Well, here's how they've changed
since the debate. Thirty five percent thought Joe Biden had
the mental and cognitive health to service president. That's down
to twenty seven percent, dropped eight points since the debate,

(22:54):
does not win from sixty five to seventy two percent,
and left only one scratch in their head going, I
don't know if he does, so, then what do they do? Well?
In nineteen sixty eight, lbj did step aside when he
saw he couldn't win, and the Democrat Party apparatus turns

(23:17):
its attention to the vice president. But unfortunately they had McCarthy,
who was a anti war independent running. They had Bobby
Kennedy running, who was winning and going to win until
unfortunately he was assassinated. And then they still had their
Republican opponent, Richard Nixon, and a slight Wallace impact going
against the the civil rights movement. So it's very fragmented.

(23:45):
So if they go to Kamala Harris, how does that look?
Not good? In fact, Kamala Harris has an even bigger disadvantage.
Than Biden if she were to run against Trump. The
former president leads Harris by six point six percentage points,
with forty nine point three percent support for the Democrat

(24:07):
forty two point seven percent. Now I don't I don't
know that if you did polling today, if you could
make that statement, because I don't, I think Joe Biden
would do worse than that post debate. But according to
the Real Clear Politics averages, Trump's ahead of Biden by

(24:29):
one point five to two percentage points forty six and
a half to forty five percent, and he would beat
Kamala forty nine to forty two. Then we talked about, well,
the smartest move would be RFK Junior, get him back
under the DNC tent, and here's your opportunity to drop
Kamala and Adam more attractive vice president. But would he

(24:54):
be open, Well, it turns out over the weekend he
told Chris Cornell, yes he would. Now there's some challenge
is there for the Democrats because he's a little more
reasonable on life and he was very anti backs. But
right now, waking up this morning, America knows what it
saw and they know that they've been gaslighted. And now

(25:18):
gaslight two point zero is in full swing. Oh no,
that's not what you saw. What you saw was just
a bad debate performance. What you saw was a liar
Donald Trump. Fact, look at the Philadelphia in choir. It's
calling on Trump to drop out of the race. He's
the one with the debate performance worthy of dropping out
of the race, not Biden. Now, again, this is the

(25:44):
courtroom of a public opinion. You're the jury. You know
what you saw? Were you gaslighted prior to that debate?
Or was it just a bad debate performance? Are you
being gaslighted now? Now, the most interesting part of the
conversation becomes what if, Whether it's Barack Obama, whether it's Jill,

(26:08):
whether it's family members, whether it's Biden's own realization looking
at these numbers, and only Joe Biden can step aside
and turn over his delegates. So if he decides they're run,
there's nothing anybody can do. Is he cognitively impaired to

(26:29):
such a point he shouldn't be president this morning? Is
he cognitively impaired enough? And the opinion of most Americans
as he is and can't win and should step aside.
And if he steps aside, who All right, Well, that
gets Chef to speed. But wait, there's bigger problems because
even if he comes to the conclusion he should step aside,

(26:51):
even if he frees up his delegates, he's got legal
problems in Georgia, Nevada, and Wisconsin. And I don't have
to tell you without George and novad Wisconsin, whomever is
on that ticket, if they're not on the ticket in
those three states, that's a big electoral college map problem.
These are just you know, some of the things are
busy scrambling this morning here at the in the kitchen,

(27:12):
short order cook breakfast style. There's a lot going on.
Not to mention, the Supreme Court prepared to release some
more rulings and we're down to the final day. So
it's got to be the ruling on President Trump's immunity.

Speaker 8 (27:27):
I'm Jeff Eddie with Efficient Eating and Cooling and my
morning show is your Morning Show with Michael go Jordan.

Speaker 1 (27:34):
Supreme Court decision will be released today, should include the
immunity case of Donald Trump and scorching temperatures for the
fourth lie ahead later in the week, it's time for
your top five stories. Well, some Dems rally behind Biden,

(27:54):
to shape a narrative in the midst of a political crisis.
Here's Mark Mayfield with our Road to the White House.

Speaker 5 (28:01):
Rude to the White House twenty twenty four. Top Democrats
are coming to President Biden's defense following his debate performance
last week. In an interview with CNN's State of the Union,
Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi conceded that Biden had a
bad night, but urged voters to look at his record.

Speaker 4 (28:17):
It was a bad night, it was a great presidency.

Speaker 5 (28:20):
She argued. It's not about performance in terms of a debate,
but performance in a presidency. And the Supreme Court is
expected to rule on former President Trump's immunity case today.
After the release of several decisions Friday, Chief Justice John
Roberts announced that Monday is going to be the last
decision day of the term. The case was centered around
federal charges accusing Trump of trying to overturn the results

(28:40):
of the twenty twenty election. The decision could impact all
of Trump's pending court cases. By Mark Neyfield, more Democrat trouble.

Speaker 1 (28:47):
The defense in the corruption trial of New Jersey Senator
Robert Menendez is expected to begin presenting its case this week,
Lord Cosky has our preview.

Speaker 2 (28:56):
Among the first defense witnesses expected to appear Menendez's, The
New York Post report she'll tell the court menendez hoarding
of cash is not evidence of a crime, and that
his Cuban family has a history of stashing cash outside
of banks. Prosecutors wrapped up seven weeks of testimony Friday,
outlining a scheme in which Menendez and his wife allegedly

(29:18):
accepted cash, gold bars, and mercedes and other gifts in
exchange for political favors. Larry Kowski NBC News Radio.

Speaker 1 (29:26):
That's the defense. We're Cuban. That's what we do. We
stash cash. Most of the countries expected to have scorching
temperatures for the fourth of July. Chris Karagio reports.

Speaker 6 (29:36):
Record temperatures are expected nationwide, with humidity in the South
making areas such as New Orleans feel close.

Speaker 1 (29:42):
To one hundred and twenty degrees.
