Speaker 2 (00:21):
Well two three starting your morning off right.
Speaker 1 (00:25):
A new way of talk, a new way of understanding.
Because we're in Mitiget.
Speaker 3 (00:32):
This is your morning show with Michael Dryl Schran.
Speaker 1 (00:36):
Good morning, Welcome to Wednesday, July to seventeenth. This is
your morning show on the Aaron streaming on your iHeartRadio
app on Michael del Chornell. Thanks for waking up with us. Well,
I don't know how they did it, but I thought
it'd be a challenge for Night two to live up
Tonight one in Milwaukee. I don't even remember Night one now.
That was look you want to unite, and maybe they
(00:58):
arrived united. That's part of the magic. Uh. This is
a party and a presidential candidacy that has been forged
by courtroom and law fair harassment and an assassination attempt,
and it is created somehow, some way the perfect messaging strategically, tactically,
(01:20):
and a deep bench of right messengers, and you put
it all together, and this is the kind it is
one of the best conventions I've ever seen in my life.
At least that's how it's playing on television. And it's
the kind of convention that precedes a landslide on the
ground with this this week is Republican Consultant analyst Chris Walker. Chris,
I'm first and foremost curious is it playing as well
(01:41):
in the room as it is through the television, because
it's playing really well.
Speaker 4 (01:45):
Oh more so, Good morning, Michael. You know, funny, funny story.
I mean I was.
Speaker 5 (01:50):
I was, you know, texting with a friend about the
Dysantis speech loss, not in particular, you know, on television,
and he's like, man, this is like some of the
best I've ever heard of him. And I was like,
you should hear it here in the arena. I mean,
the arena was just on fire. It was just fun
to watch. It's fun to be a part of it.
Was you know, the weekend of Bernie's line is probably
(02:11):
the line of the night last night in terms of
we can't afford for more years a weekend on Bernie's presidency,
and you know, it's a it's an electric feeling here
for sure.
Speaker 1 (02:21):
I will say this. You viewed DeSantis the way I
view Marco Rubio. So we'll just get that out on
the table. I know, hang on, I'm having a Harry
Cary moment. I know he's your guy. My observation is,
that's the best Ron DeSantis I've ever seen. My observation
of evk Ramaswami was that's the best speech I've seen
since Barack Obama in two thousand and four. My response
(02:42):
to Marco Rubio was, Oh, my gosh, I don't know
what the future of trump Ism is, but if this
guy isn't a president in the future of America, we
all lose. He was the most that struck me as
a next president. But I could go on, you won't
find a better human being. And what a powerful speech
Ben Carson gave. And it's very calm to home. Sarah Huckabee.
Sanders is certainly a rising star. Your guy, Governor DeSantis
(03:05):
is ready to be president today. We haven't even heard
from the vice presidential choice JD. Vance and certainly you
got Trump Junior and Trump himself all ready to be
They don't have a bench like that. On the other side,
they got Kamala Harris. They got three governors from failed states, Newsome,
Whitmer and Hokel disgraced by Covid Cuomo. Maybe Michelle Obama
(03:26):
but she's not interested. And a rising star in Wes Moore,
who's done nothing as a Maryland governor. He's just a
charismatic speech giver. I mean, they don't have the message,
and they don't have the messengers. I don't know how
they're going to respond to this well.
Speaker 4 (03:42):
And they don't have the truth.
Speaker 5 (03:43):
I mean, look at Joe Biden's arguing with Lesser Holds
for you know, ten minutes and just one simple little interview.
I mean, instead of dealing with the realities, they're hiding.
They're hiding and longing, and it's an incredible thing to watch.
I mean, here you have, you know, solutions. Here, you
have kind of a patriot, you know, fervor for country
(04:03):
and seeing how we can kind of all move ahead together.
And you have the other side, you know, signing bills
in California to keep parents away from knowing whether or
not their children are having very dangerous, you know, transition surgeries.
I mean, it's it's evil and it is wrong, and
that's that seems to be what the Democrat Party is
aligning with right now.
Speaker 4 (04:21):
It's crazy, I thought.
Speaker 1 (04:22):
Sara Huckabee Sanders telling the story of when everyone was
attacking her and they used to call her fat, they
used to call her an unfit mother. Somebody at her
kid's preschool spit on her car. I mean, she was
on the front lines of the all out media assault
on Trump and you know, I have daughters. That's that's
tough stuff. And she told the story about Donald Trump
(04:42):
pulled her aside as her boss and said, hey, you're smart,
you're beautiful, and you're doing a great job. That's why
they're attacking you. Keep it up. And she talked about
what that meant to her, and she talked about how
he sees things in people they don't even seeing themselves.
Yet it was very powerful. I think her best.
Speaker 6 (05:03):
Line was this, not even an assassin's bullet could stop him.
Speaker 7 (05:10):
God Almighty intervened because America is one nation under God
and he is certainly not finished with President Trump.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
The boy is this convention feeling like it. Huh. I mean,
what a great line she was tripping. I want to
play cook Ben Carson. Ben is very quiet, very intellectual,
a very he scares me. He's such a godly man,
and he always is the wisest in the room. And
you may not like the style or the style of me.
(05:38):
Jump out, not jump out of the television, but listen
to the wisdom in these words. This, this blew me away,
Chris Benjamin.
Speaker 8 (05:48):
The free press, a pillar of any free society, has
abused the troublic public trust, and resorted to lies, deception,
and disinformation.
Speaker 1 (06:02):
They divide us.
Speaker 8 (06:04):
Along lines of race, class, and gender, rather than uniting
us around our shared bond as Americans. Our government has
been no better, shredding our constitution and upending.
Speaker 1 (06:18):
The rule of law.
Speaker 8 (06:20):
We have a wide open border, a broken education system,
and chaos breaking out around the world. And on top
of it all, we have a president who well, if
you can't say anything good, don't say anything at all.
Speaker 1 (06:34):
That's what's But no, I just look, this has been
that we are. In reality, we have been the divided
States of America, and we have not been a nation
under God. We've been a nation and rebellion to God.
And we have been nothing but divided, not indivisible. There
is a uniting which is the ultimate goal, uniting America,
(06:58):
not the Republican Party America. And there seems to be
a feeling in the air that wokeness is ending. There's
a feeling in the air that's a broken media and
the and the death of journalism and the narrativization of
agendas is dying. He's hitting the nail on the head,
the true cancer cell, always the wisest in the room.
(07:20):
I thought he was terrific. I agree.
Speaker 5 (07:24):
I mean, you know, there's something to be said for
you know, kind of quiet, you know, steady continent leadership.
And that's Ben Carson all the way. And you can
see why President Trump, you know, loves the.
Speaker 4 (07:35):
Guy so much.
Speaker 5 (07:36):
Why he you know, gave him such an important slot.
And you know kind of on the second nine of
the convention, is you know that that that wisdom is important.
You know in a country that that you know, worship's
youth and you know, childlike behavior at times to have
a steady, sober kind of statesman as a contrast that
(07:57):
people are craving because it shows grown up ideas and
grown up you know solutions and not just more of
this you know candy for breakfast mentality than the Democrats
give you.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
Republican analysts and consultant Chris Walker and Milwaukee for the convention.
You can always tell when the speaker's got it because
you got to first win the room, and they're all playing,
and they're all having fun and they're celebrating. When you
hear them get dead silent and hanging on every word.
You got a speaker. Well, that happened on about four
occasions last night. But what I saw the veck Ramaswami
(08:30):
in eight minutes and nineteen seconds deliver well only Barack
Obama's two thousand and four appearance at the DNC convention compared.
I can't play much of it, but just here's a clip.
This was one of the most top top three convention
speeches of all time, the vek Ramaswami.
Speaker 2 (08:49):
That is the America we missed. We do not have
to be ancient Rome. We don't have to be this
nation in decline. We can still be a nation in
our ascent, a nation whose best days, not in some
fake politician way, but in a true way, a nation
whose best days are actually still.
Speaker 1 (09:09):
Ahead of us, still on our.
Speaker 2 (09:11):
Way to that shining city on a hill, that country
where no matter who you are, or where your parents
came from, or what your skin color is, or how
long your last name is, that you will still get
ahead in this country with your own hard work, your
own commitment, your own dedication, and that you know what,
(09:33):
you are free to speak your mind at every step
of the way.
Speaker 1 (09:37):
That is the American dream.
Speaker 2 (09:39):
That is what won us the American Revolution, That is
what reunited us after the Civil War, that is what
won us two World Wars and the Cold War.
Speaker 1 (09:49):
That is what still gives hope to the free world.
Speaker 2 (09:52):
And if we can revive that dream over group identity
and victimhood and grievance, then nobody in the world, not
a nation, not a corporation, not a virus, not China,
is going to defeat us. That is what American exceptionalism
is all about. And that is what we will revive
this November when we send Donald J.
Speaker 1 (10:13):
Trump back to the White House. Thank you all, God
bless you. I mean, come on, Chris, you know what.
Speaker 5 (10:20):
I was actually in the room for that, and I
was in a vantage point where I was reading I
could read the telepropter, you know, like and there's a
big stage in front of the podium and there's a
big stream with the telepropter on there, and so I
was kind of reading his speech a little bit with him.
But a lot of that segment Michael was actually completely
ad lived.
Speaker 4 (10:39):
Yeah, a lot of the stuff he said there was
just you know, a stream.
Speaker 5 (10:42):
Of consciousness just from a moment of him being passionate about.
Speaker 4 (10:45):
What he believed in. And so that was that was
fun to watch.
Speaker 5 (10:48):
From the standpoint of like what he was going to
be saying differently, and so much of that was just
his love of country coming through outside of just the
prepared speech to be given.
Speaker 1 (10:56):
Yeah, maybe it takes the child of an immigrant to
really appreciate things that we haven't been taught as well.
Generation to generation are all too often taken for granted.
The passion was real. He wasn't doing applause lines to
get applause lines. This man had something that had to
come out like a belch and it is memorable. There's
(11:17):
a place for him in the future. I have to
say far and away and this is my guy in
full confession. Marco Rubio. There's something about this guy, God
help us if he's not a president someday.
Speaker 9 (11:32):
There is absolutely nothing dangerous or anything to visit about
putting Americans first. What American is and what American means.
Speaker 10 (12:02):
American isn't the color of our skin or our ethnicity.
Americans our people as diverse as humanity itself. But out
of many, we are one because, as the life story
of our next Vice President jd. Vance reminds us, we
are all descendants of ordinary people who achieved extraordinary things.
Speaker 1 (12:28):
I couldn't pick a clip, and I can't take up
our time together with all these clips. I mean, these
are magnificent messages that are strategic and on point for
the unity not just of the party but of the country,
but delivered in such an authentic, charismatic, passionate way. I
have to tell you, I'm not a big fan of
either party, but I'm impressed. It's one of the best
conventions that I've ever seen. In This bench is so deep.
They got about seven or eight people that are ready
(12:50):
to be president. The Democrats would give to have one
that's right.
Speaker 5 (12:54):
That's right well in on Rubio, you know, Cookorinn I mean,
you know, sometimes the most moment of knowing the threat
of communism as having someone who has family members who.
Speaker 1 (13:04):
You know come to athletic you know Cuba.
Speaker 5 (13:07):
And have been there and lived in and understand the
threat and understand the you know, the specialness of this
place and why it's worth fighting for and worth keeping
instead of seeing it kind of being undermined from with him.
Speaker 1 (13:18):
Final minute is this eleven second clip. This was the
heavy lifting of the night, and only you can answer
the question. First, here's Nicky Haley.
Speaker 7 (13:27):
I'll start by making one thing perfectly clear. Donald Trump
has my strong endorsement, pairing.
Speaker 1 (13:38):
Right now and know how you know by hanging out
with all the delegates. I think this party was unified
upon arrival and forged in courtrooms and in an assassination attempt.
But did this was this the final piece of the
puzzle and did this complete the unification?
Speaker 4 (13:55):
Absolutely?
Speaker 1 (13:56):
I mean, you know.
Speaker 4 (13:57):
This is That's what I loved about the last night.
Speaker 5 (14:00):
It was like all the people running, you know, we're
showing the unity behind the thinking.
Speaker 4 (14:05):
Now you know this is there was a tough primary.
Speaker 5 (14:07):
Unlike the Democrats, there was a tough you know, a
lot of discussion about where the tough parties should be
going during the primary and the party picked. But there's
no acromony here, There's no you know what could have been.
It's it's everyone focused on the goal, both because Biden
is so bad and we see it, but also because
again I think you're right, the unity of the moment.
I think, you know, a miss assassin's bullet has really
(14:29):
kind of clarified people here the stakes and what's important,
and what's what's happening here, I mean, law fair, everything
else that's been going on with Trump over the past
year has all led to a moment of complete clarity
that is continuing to kind of pushed as we had
towards in the week, which obviouslye's on Thursday.
Speaker 1 (14:45):
My faith defines me, my wife, my marriage, my children,
my family, the people I love. Politics is so far
down the list. I'm not. I am a registered Republican,
but I really am a free agent and independent. I
think both parties have been a big part of the problem.
There is something different in this convention. This isn't about
Republicans winning. This is about America uniting and solving things.
(15:06):
And I am very encouraged and I pray that God
is up to something really amazing. All right. Finally, the
way they're using these everyday Americans, that is easy to plan,
tough to pull off. A brother and two mothers won
a lot of hearts last night, and I suspect minds
and votes along with it. It's been a brilliant convention.
They got to live up to it at night three
(15:26):
and Jade Vance will do a lot of that heavy
lifting and we'll have more from Milwaukee with Chris Walker.
Thanks for your insights in being there.
Speaker 4 (15:34):
Thank you, bro, have a great day.
Speaker 1 (15:36):
This is your morning show.
Speaker 3 (15:39):
With Michael Deltrono, we talked about how somehow, between all
the lawfare, all the attacks and then the attempted assassination,
the Republicans seem to arrive in Milwaukee already unified, already energized,
and whoever decided on the messaging and.
Speaker 1 (16:05):
The messengers and the order and the brilliance of using
Donald Trump sitting there every night, which doesn't make it
about him, it seems to have an effect of making
it about us, especially when you put everyday people in
prime time and then that's easy to put there. It's
tough to pull off, but a brother and two mothers
did last night and won a lot of hearts, and
(16:25):
I know probably stole some minds and votes. Meanwhile, if
you're wondering what happened, you know in Pennsylvania, well, Joe
Biden thinks the head of Secret Service as a man.
We find that out in his meeting with Lester Holt,
proving that he's dementia suffering or he's a chronic liar.
As for the Secret Service director, she said the roof
(16:49):
was too pitched and dangerous for agents. She out to
see the pitch. The agents are on on top of
the White House, we always said from the very beginning.
Now planning or worse. It's looking more and more like worse. Hey,
it's me Michael. You can listen to your morning show
live on the air or streaming live on your iHeart
(17:09):
app Monday through Friday from three to six Pacific, five
to eighth Central, and six to nine Eastern on great
radio stations like TOK six fifty KSTE in Sacramento, one
oh four nine, The Patriot in Saint Louis had Impact
Radio one oh five nine and twelve fifty w h
d Z in Tampa, Florida. Sure hope you can join
us live and make us a part of your morning routine.
In the meantime, enjoy the podcast. Thanks for waking up
(17:32):
with your morning show. I'm Michael del Jorno on the
air and streaming live on your iHeartRadio app. Welcome to Wednesday,
July the seventeenth. We're doing a lot of review of
last night's RNC convention and a little preview of tonight's.
You know, this is a party that, through all of
the law fare and then the assassination attempt, I think
(17:53):
arrived in Milwaukee, United and energized. Now the passion level
is going to somewhere that well, quite frankly, only precedes
a landslide. I love talking with White House correspondent Attorney
John Decker. I don't even know. We've never really sat
down and talked if we agree on every little political issue.
But what I love is your fairness. You get right
(18:13):
and wrong, you get stupid and smart. I'm not a
fan of either party. I think they've been a big
part of the problem. I don't have anything in common
with Democrats and Republicans very rarely live what they believe.
But there's something different in the year. It's coming through
the television screen. How's it playing inside the convention hall?
Speaker 11 (18:31):
Well, last night was really interesting to see these former
opponents di Donald Trump come together in their own respective
speeches to endorse him, to endorse his candidacy, to tell
their supporters to vote for Donald Trump in November. It
was interesting, you know, to be in that convention hall
for Nikki Haley's speech and for Ronda Santis. Rond De
(18:51):
Santis His speech was better received. I thought it was
a better speech quite frankly than Nicky Hay's. And what
I always do, it's important. I never leave for a
convention without my binoculars, and I have my binoculars for
these speeches, and I'm not focused on the people delivering them.
I'm looking at the reaction shots. So my binoculars are
(19:12):
just focused directed on Donald Trump's box to see how
he's receiving all of this. And you know, I still
think that he holds a grudge against both the Santis
and Nikki Haley. You know that they had the temerity
to challenge him for the Republican nomination after he elevated
their respective careers. That comes through in terms of watching
(19:34):
him watch.
Speaker 1 (19:35):
Them, you get loyalty, John, That's what they breached. I
love this binocular analogy because I do the same thing,
and I used to play a little poker, and I
can tell you it's not about the cart analogy.
Speaker 11 (19:48):
I bring my binoculars.
Speaker 1 (19:50):
I know, I know, I know, but I want to
play on that because I was doing the same thing.
I came away with this conclusion by watching Donald Trump
on a split screen. Marco Rubio was his choice. I
don't think they wanted to mess with the Constitution in
courts because they both live in Florida. I think that's
who we wanted. I could see it on his face.
He was very, very moved throughout that speech. I definitely
(20:12):
saw it with Nicky Hayley and listen, NICKI gave the
most unmemorable speech you will ever hear. Poorly delivered, but
it was the heavy lifting and the necessary speech that
had to be given. But the vek Ramaswami, my opinion,
that's the best speech I've seen since Barack Obama in
two thousand and four.
Speaker 11 (20:33):
Okay, I mean, you know, for each of these speeches,
sometimes it's in the eye of the beholder. For me,
I just can't get past vivek Ramaswami's personality, which I
find grading don't get that if you can't get past
the personality. You can't listen to the substance of the speech.
And for me, I've always been that way with Vivek.
And again, it's all in the eye of the beholder, right,
(20:55):
Maybe some people love the guy. I'm not one of
those people, and I admit that I just find him
to be one of the most annoying politicians in all
my years.
Speaker 1 (21:11):
I I have a best friend who feels he who
feels the same way. I appreciate your hon to see
Marco Ruby's always been my guy. I thought he was
the most presidential last night. I want to know, I
thought I had that speech play in house because on
television it was powerful.
Speaker 11 (21:26):
Oh it was. It was a great speech. You know,
when I see various people, I imagine what are they thinking?
What do they want? They're all ambitious. You know. Mark
Rubio ran for president in twenty sixteen. I think that
was an audition for him to be Donald Trump's Secretary
of State. If indeed Donald Trump wins in November, so
I would not be surprised if that is the choice
(21:48):
that he makes to lead the State Department. And we'll
have to wait and see, you know, I think that
that was the kind of speech that had residents in
the arena, and it was heartfelt. And he starts off
talking about the assassination attempt, and I think that that
is on the mind, or at least in the back
of the minds of many people that are attending this convention.
Speaker 1 (22:11):
And he told the story of the father and husband
whose life was lost, and I thought he did it
in the most powerful way possible. And Sarah Huckabee Sanders
was terrific. Ben Carson always low key, but the wisest
guy in the room, and you won't find a better
human being. I thought his speech was terrific. They got
a deep bet speech was good.
Speaker 11 (22:28):
Let me just mention two things. You know. I'm in
that hall and I see things you don't see on TV.
Ben Carson, he went off prompter for the last portion
of that speech, and that was really remarkable what he
was saying, and it wasn't in the script. Yeah, no,
go back and watch the last two minutes, and I
will tell you watch it again. You'll have a lot
(22:50):
of appreciation for what he said. As for Ron DeSantis,
on the prompter, he was supposed to end his speech
by saying, make America great again. I don't think he
wants to say that because he didn't say that. He
did not read what was on the prompt recent something
to the effect of fight, fight, Fight, But he did
not say make America great again, which of course has
(23:10):
always been and always will be associated with Donald Trump.
Speaker 1 (23:14):
I want to end with two things. I thought, you know, okay,
Donald Trunk came the first time, he was nearly assassinated.
Maybe that was important. Then I realized, oh no, that's
part of the strategy. He's going to sit there every night.
And your thought would be, well, is that to make
it about him? Is that to keep the speakers in check?
But it's had the opposite effect. It's made it about
we the people in a very powerful way as well
(23:35):
as and you know, this is easier to plan than
it is to pull off. These every day American people
have stolen the show, and they've made this about not
uniting the Republican Party, but uniting America and solving problems.
And I saw two mothers and a brother steal America's heart.
There's no way to attack them, and they made their points.
(23:58):
It has it's I'll tell you, if I'm the Democrats,
I'm trying to figure out how they pulled this off,
because this is this is this is going to have impact.
Speaker 11 (24:08):
Well, I agree with you that the people that were
recounting the stories of their loved ones who were lost
under horrible circumstances, you know, killed just in the line
of duty in some cases killed or not killed, but
you know, dying, you know, because of the fentanyl overdose. Really,
(24:30):
I think struck so many in the convention hall yesterday
last evening. Moving is a good way to describe it.
And yeah, you're right, you know, it's really impressive the
way that the convention organizers find these people and for
the people that like me hearing their stories for the
(24:51):
first time, they really do have residence.
Speaker 1 (24:53):
I know you need to run her down to ten seconds.
But Jade Vance, he's got a lot to pull off tonight.
I mean, he'd better be all we're thinking about and
talking of tomorrow. Your thoughts on his speech tonight in
the importance.
Speaker 11 (25:04):
Of it, Yeah, I mean he has to demonstrate through
a speech, and it's often difficult because most people are
not familiar with Jdevans. You are, you know, you cover politics,
but most Americans are not. So it's his introduction to
America it's conveying the idea that you could be president
on day one if something were to happen to Donald Trump.
(25:26):
He's only thirty nine years old. Sometimes, you know, you
deliver a knockout punch, and it's interesting. Sometimes first impressions
change quickly. I think about Sarah Palin. I was there
in Minnesota when she delivered her acceptance speech as vice president,
and it was seen as powerful. She hit a home run.
But then, as you may recall, just a day or
(25:47):
two later, she did those national interviews, one with Katie Current,
and that first impression was done away with just because
of those Well, here's what JD vans.
Speaker 1 (25:57):
Here's what JD. He's got the education, he's got the
life story, he's got a script that's already been a
book and a movie. Appreciate your insights. I will cherish
your ve commentary for the rest of my life. John Decker,
talk to you again tomorrow from the convention floor in Milwaukee.
Top stories waking up this morning. Well, there was one
(26:19):
final piece of the GOP unity puzzle to put in place,
and Night two was the night and Nicky Haley was
the piece. Brian shook as our road to the White House.
Speaker 12 (26:29):
Road to the White House twenty twenty four. Former South
Carolina Governor Nicky Haley is endorsing Donald Trump. During a
speech at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee on Tuesday,
Haley said Trump invited her to speak at the event
to show unity.
Speaker 7 (26:45):
I'll start by making one thing perfectly clear. Donald Trump
has my strong endorsement Parry.
Speaker 12 (26:56):
The two had a falling out after Haley's failed bid
to Clint the Republican nomination, but on Tuesday, she spoke
directly to Americans who are on the fence about voting
for Trump. Haley argued that the US will be worse
off under a second Biden Harris term in Washington. I'm
Brian Shook.
Speaker 1 (27:16):
She also went on to say this this has been
a themed message. This is the strategy of the convention.
This party knows it's united. It's trying to unite America
and to unite America. There's a lot of people that
know life was better under Donald Trump than Joe Biden.
Joe Biden is incapable of being another four year president.
(27:36):
All we got to do is make people feel comfortable
about Look, maybe you don't like him, maybe you don't
like his tweets. But he's not the devil, he's not
a dictator, and he can make America great again. It's
okay to vote for Donald Trump. This strategically is the
most powerful message, and nikkiy Haley headed as well thanks
(28:00):
to them.
Speaker 12 (28:00):
Is simple.
Speaker 7 (28:02):
You don't have to agree with Trump one hundred percent of.
Speaker 1 (28:05):
The time to vote for it. Obviously, Governor DeSantis wanted
to make the case about Joe Biden and did so
in a memorable fashion.
Speaker 6 (28:14):
I am alarmed that the current president of the United
States lacks the capability to discharge the duties of his office.
Our enemies do not confine their designs between ten am
and four pm.
Speaker 1 (28:31):
That's the setup. It needs a punchline, right.
Speaker 6 (28:33):
We need a commander in chief who can lead twenty
four hours a day and seven days a week. America
cannot afford four more years of a weekend at Bernie's presidency.
Speaker 1 (28:48):
Ouch, all right, another huge loss for the state of California.
Thank you for the State of California. Elon Musk is
taking his SpaceX headquarters, leaving California and added to Texas.
Lisa Taylor as more.
Speaker 13 (28:59):
He's pointing to new California law that banned schools from
telling parents if their child starts using different pronouns in class.
Must set on X that he warned Governor Gavin Newsom
that laws like this would force families and companies to
leave California to protect their children. It's unclear if workers
at the SpaceX facility in the Los Angeles suburb of
Hawthorne will be asked to move to musk starbase in
(29:19):
South Texas. I'mly Se Taylor.
Speaker 1 (29:21):
You know we talked about there's really four legs to
this table of keeping things cooled down and not being
so hateful. One is Joe Biden and Donald Trump. The
other is the mainstream media. The third leg is us. Well,
I can tell you Joe Biden is reverted right back
to his old talking points in his Sunday address to America.
(29:44):
There was no personal responsibility or apology for his own actions.
He's already fallen back. They took Daily Joe off the
air for one day, but he was back blaming his network.
John Stewart CA sold his live broadcast from the RNC.
But guess what they're back on. Keep an eye on
(30:05):
those four legs. How long will America learn its lesson?
After a failed assassination attempt. Major League Baseball, the American
League rallied to beat the National League five to three
in the twenty twenty four Major League All Star Game
at Globe Field in Arlington, Texas. And Birthdays Today. The
Queen of England, Kamala Parker Camilla Parker Bowls is seventy seven.
(30:27):
Baywatch star David Hasselhoff is seventy two. A country music
singer Luke Bryan is forty eight. If it's your birthday,
Happy birthday. We're so glad you were born. And thanks
for waking up with your morning show.
Speaker 11 (30:39):
I'm Lenny McGill of McGill's world famous Block Store, and
my morning show is Your Morning Show with Michael Beljornan.
Speaker 1 (30:47):
I have two favorite moments this morning. One is John
Decker saying what a lot of people feel but never say,
oh loud, just how Yeah. It was a great speech
by vivc Ramizwami. I just can't stand they have the
thumbs and cream of then and then my moment ask
Rory why he doesn't love me, and then the Irish response,
we don't have enough time. That's what happens when the
(31:08):
Irish and the Italians get together. You just think we're
all too emotional and affectionate, don't you. You don't know
what to do with it. Yeah, not enough. Let's move on.
He's a big deal. He's Rory O'Neill, Rory with the
final story, A big night for jd Vance. This guy
is designed to make the case for Donald Trump. I
(31:30):
would guess a VP speech is about what introducing himself
to America, convincing us and assuring us he's ready to
be president. But his real job is to sell the guy, right. Well,
that's what he's supposed to be doing.
Speaker 14 (31:41):
By the way, I got to spend some time with
John Deker yesterday at the convention Center, so that was fun.
Speaker 1 (31:46):
But it's also going to be a lot.
Speaker 14 (31:48):
I think about explaining his one eighty his conversion to
becoming a from a never Trumper to being the number
two on the ticket, because that's what the Democrats are
going to use.
Speaker 1 (31:58):
All those old video clips to bludgeon them over the head.
Speaker 14 (32:01):
But he's got quite a compelling story at thirty nine
years old, literal rags to riches story, Yale Law school
and the like, So a lot to hear from on
that front. And then finally trying to seal the deal
and convince Americans to vote for Donald Trump.
Speaker 1 (32:17):
You know, I think it was Kathy wrote me email
and she said, how can Kamala Harris with a straight
face say that a man who once called Donald Trump
hitler is going to be nothing more than a rubber
stamp for Donald Trump. I think that the left is
playing right into their hands, and I think that's the
brilliance of the JD choice. The main message of all
(32:38):
of this is as a party, we're already united. But
for those of you that don't have any confidence in
Joe Biden for whatever reason, consequence of policies that have
failed or cognitive and abilities, it's okay to vote for
Donald Trump. I think JD's message plays right in there.
Of course, he's got a script, his book and movie
already to tell his life story, but I think he
(32:59):
read it presents the very key message of this entire convention. Yeah,
he may.
Speaker 14 (33:06):
And by the way, you know, look, he is fantastic
when it comes to being on talk shows and confronting,
you know, questions that are probably partisan, and that debate
should be fascinating if we get one with him and
Kamala Harris However.
Speaker 1 (33:19):
I just this is me being ignorant.
Speaker 14 (33:21):
I don't know how well he'll do in this kind
of a venue, speaking to a big crowd.
Speaker 1 (33:26):
It's two very different kinds of talents. Maybe he has
them both.
Speaker 14 (33:29):
I just don't know, but I'll be That's one thing
I'm going to be looking at tonight.
Speaker 1 (33:33):
These everyday people have been so powerful. Now anybody can
plan this. I've seen the Democrats do this in past
conventions and it failed miserably. But oh, these people and
their losses and their stories and the passion in which
they're telling it. How does that live up a night? Three? Right?
Speaker 14 (33:52):
And then we'll see how they're used when the theme
of the night is keeping America strong or again once again,
and that we'll see how that over arching theme is
executed tonight. I think a big focus will be on
the military, the threat post by China. See how much JD.
Bands goes into international affairs. You know, I don't want
(34:14):
to say he's an isolationist, but he certainly said that. Well, well,
I mean more more leaning, more so right leaning, but
he doesn't want you know, he wants us to have
no involvement in Ukraine and that kind of thing. We'll
see if he gets into that tonight too, because that's
a there are a lot of Republicans who felt quite
differently about America's role in the world.
Speaker 1 (34:33):
As a Reagan Republican, Rory O'Neil always with the final story.
Appreciate you, Rory. We'll talk again tomorrow in Milwaukee. All
week long, we're all in this together. This is your
Morning Show with Michael Hill, Chuno
