Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hi, it's me Michael. Your morning show can be heard
live daily on great radio stations like News Radio six
fifty K E n I Anchorage, Alaska, Talk Radio eleven
ninety Dallas Fort Worth, and Freedom one O four to
seven in Washington, d C. We'd love to have you
listen live every day and make us a part of
your morning routine. But better late than never. Enjoy the podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
Well two three, starting your morning off right, A.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
New way of talk, a new way of understanding because
we're in this togid This is your morning.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
Show with Michael del John. Welcome the Grand Delusion. One
morn night to go, and I can see by that
day very very much more. Six minutes after the hour,
you were as except for the I'm sorry you are
sleep deprived. I am, yeah, no, I actually you know what,

(00:52):
yesterday I had one of the greatest, one of the
best days of my life. Jeff Allen, who is one
of my favorite comedians. It's hard to be that funny
and not be dirty. And he is safe in a church,
let alone an auditorium, just has a great stand up
routine and he's a treasured friend. And so he brought

(01:16):
Stephen Bargozzi with him, and of course Nate Bargozzi's probably
one of the hottest comedians in America today. Yeah, and
I always tell people, you know, really amazing apples don't
fall from really amazing trees, and that's the case here.
The fathers the gem of all gems, and I think

(01:36):
as funny as his son in a completely different way.
It's very old school. He mixes magic and comedy, but
he is absolutely brilliant. Even after we golfed, we sat
down at the table at the golf course and he
was showing me some stuff that was just mind blowing.
Oh wow, you know, just this had a term time
and then I came home and I was like, oh,

(01:56):
here I go again. And you know, I'm an American citizen,
but these parties have gotten so partisan and so polarized.
It really isn't an American vetting experience any longer. That
even you know, Bill Clinton last night very very old,
very frail, very slow, very ineffective. But he did talk

(02:19):
about one thing that was true, that this is really
a great job interview, and he talked about the honor
and pleasure of being president. And I don't think there's
anybody on earth that I really believe this that enjoyed
being president more than Bill Clinton. And don't even insert
any oval office jokes. He really wanted to be president,
loved being president, hated to go, probably enjoyed it more

(02:43):
than anybody. I guarantee it's the best eight years of
his life. But he's talking about the privileges and what the
process is, which is, we get to pick our presidents,
we get to interview them, we get to vet them.
We either hire them, don't hire them, and eventually fire them.
That's what it was intended to be. It has just

(03:03):
ceased being that, which is so frustrating. The media doesn't
even allow us to be involved in the interviewing process.
They're very biased interviewers. Then when you're watching, Oh, so
you know, here, I have this great day of golf,

(03:25):
perfect weather. For some reason, it wasn't hot, it wasn't humid, cool, breezy.
I'm a two very funny, wonderful human being. I mean,
a great time. And then I come up. So maybe
I was predisposed to be disguntled, right, But as you know,
I pride myself on objectivity. Yes, and so you know,
there's two kinds of ways. There's people that watched and

(03:48):
then they want me to help them, you know, process
it or sort through it again. We pride ourselves here
at your morning show. We're not going to tell you
how to think. I'm gonna give you things to think about,
but we're not going to tell you how to think.
You gotta do that for you, and the only real
life changing discoveries you'll make in life you'll make yourself.
Let me tell you something that this may be a

(04:09):
little spiritual and may make some people uncomfortable, and I
don't mean to just take it in the form of
an analogy. The greatest preachers or pastors in the world
can share what God has revealed to them in a
sermon and you'll repeat it. You'll be in awe of it,
you'll love it. But it's not the same as when

(04:29):
the Holy Spirit reveals it to you. That's when you're
not emotionally moved. That's when you are changed forever in
a moment and it will last forever. You got to
eat yourself to get the nutrients, you got to seek
the Father yourself to experience the sun, and you've got

(04:52):
to watch these things painfully for yourself. There's an American
process that in my lifetime was once cherished, honest, and welcoming.
It simply doesn't exist anymore. Last night was a third
night of theater and a show I didn't buy a

(05:15):
ticket for and didn't want to be yet after having
a great day with two comedians on a golf court,
so I will confess to you, I was disgruntled. Nancy
Pelosi was like an expired item at a grocery store
past the expiration date. Nobody was even listening. Deentures were moving,

(05:36):
but nobody was listening. She said nothing of substance, very
little truth, very partisan, and she mastered in the insurrection
as if she had nothing to do with it, just
like this whole week plays out like they have nothing
to do with it. They're in freaking office. Mayor Pede, Literally,

(05:58):
Cellaphane didn't even happen. You didn't miss a thing. Bill
Clinton was long and slow and quite frankly sad. I
don't know how much long we're gonna have Bill Clinton.
I don't think Bill Clinton knows how much longer you're
gonna have Bill Clinton. He even made a reference. This
is probably He's been to every convention since nineteen seventy two,
and he fears this was his last and he seemed

(06:19):
that frail Coach Tim the whole night was going to
live or die by Coach Tim's performer. Coach Tim's performance
was excellent, great energy, good speaker, good connective moment with
his family, just wasn't based much on reality, accuracy or truth.

(06:46):
He majored in freedom, which is one of their themes, freedom, joy,
and weird. They were all in there. So coach showed up,
not governor. Coach showed up, not teacher. Coach showed up,
not military Tim, and it was a locker room peptoc. Again,
the games he played with Project twenty twenty five are

(07:07):
simply not true. The games, the distorted games they play
with abortion are simply not true. Roe v. Wade set
it backward, always belonged to the States, and the States
have been handling it like his and he should know.
Donald Trump has been absolutely crystal clear he does not

(07:28):
favor a federal ban on abortion. And then they're making
it all about in vitro, all about rap or incest,
all about miscarriages, when you and I all know nine
and a half out of ten abortions are because the
baby is simply unwanted. It's birth control and not knowing

(07:49):
when life begins. It may be murder because life begins
in America when it's wanted, period, end of story. That's
what you get. And you don't believe in a creator,
the sacredness of life and his creation. Here's the one thing.
And we still have Kamala to go. But here's the

(08:11):
one thing they haven't been able to answer. Sounded the
Day Number one. Now, this was Tuesday night after the
Obama spoke, and this is the CNN panel, and of
course Van Jones never been so moved. You know, they're
all just I mean, there's the sugar high of the

(08:31):
Democrat Party. Then there's a guy that the guys that
are handing out the kool aid. That's CNN. But they
have one single Republican on the panel, and he drops
the truth bomb. This is the truth. No matter how
well they light, how well they stage, how well they

(08:54):
write the scripts, how well they block the scenes, at
the end of the day, this is still their biggest problem.
Sound of the Day Number one in.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
All these speeches, as good as they were, is that
she's in the White House right now. Democrats have controlled
the White House for twelve of the last sixteen years,
and for all of the talk about division and the
problems in the country and people are hurting, Democrats have
mostly controlled this country.

Speaker 1 (09:24):
Trump had it for.

Speaker 2 (09:25):
Four the Obamas and Biden had it for the rest
of the time, and somehow it's still all Trump's fault
and somehow she hasn't been at the center of it.
So to me, that's still the glaring hole in this
campaign that hasn't yet been solved at the convention. How
do you explain all of the problems that will be
solved by the person who is currently in there for

(09:49):
the last three and a half years, who is supposed
to already be working on solving I gotta.

Speaker 1 (09:53):
Tell you, the director and cameraman did no favors to
CNN because all that forty eight seconds of truth. They
do single shots on each member of the panel, and
the looks on all of their face priceless because they

(10:14):
know it's true. That's why people would say it's a
truth bomb in the middle of their sugar high koumbai
a panel. These are the things. This is what I've
been trying to say all week. Look what a convention is.
They're doing well, They're gonna leave with a president a

(10:36):
vice presidential ticket. That's the business of the convention. The
energy in the spirit has been high. The show has
been very well produced. They are united and they seem
inspired as they're leaving. That's the job of the convention.
How's it playing outside of that building? How's it playing

(10:56):
outside of their party? You see? The biggest problem with
this forty eight second Sound of the Day truth bomb
is this isn't some intellectual astute observation. This is something
on everybody's mind. This is a meme everybody gets. This
is what has every American going. Why are they acting

(11:17):
like they didn't have anything to do with this? Scripts
like this that are dishonest. They only get you so far.
This is another great Sound of the day. I have
to do a very shortened version of this. I can
tell by the clock. But this guy's brilliant. So see
if court is it takes an illegal immigrant from Venezuela.
Because we talked about the irony that they don't believe

(11:40):
in a wall at our sovereign border, but this convention
hall is completely walled in fifteen feet fences. There's a perimeter.
You are not allowed to penetrate. Why don't they guard
our country like they guard their own convention. Well, he
took this illegal immigran, tried to get him into the convention.
And watch what happens.

Speaker 4 (12:00):
This is Edwin from Venezuela invited by dum cut party.
You like to come to the you have to go
to dax Na.

Speaker 1 (12:10):
Yeah, what do you mean he used credentials and permission
to come in.

Speaker 5 (12:15):
It's a quarter.

Speaker 1 (12:16):
Yeah, you have to have id to the United States,
say no, not to come to the United States to
come in here. That's the very shortened version. Then he
goes to try to get him the credentials in pass
and what happens there is even more priceless. Donald Trump

(12:37):
had a Sound of the Day moment. Here's your let.
I mean, you know, the journalism is dead. They are
just a mouthpiece for one party and one agenda, very
dishonest players. And so you saw when they all turned
down Joe what that was like. And then how immediately
picked up the news script with Kamala and they're right

(12:58):
back to their dead ways. So here they are harassing
Donald Trump for being somewhere that is associated with the
white supremacist Watch how Donald Trump handles it. Make sure
thank you everybody very much. Thank you for coming. They

(13:22):
couldn't even get it out without the crowd almost vomiting.
Did you hear the Kamala Harris campaign is criticizing you
for being here for the presence of in the state,
for the presence of white supremacist Watch his response, who was.

Speaker 6 (13:37):
Here in twenty twenty one?

Speaker 1 (13:41):
Thank you, Thank you everybody, So Biden, thank you. Good
night everyone. This is your Morning show with Michael del Chona.
Well you got coach Tim last night? Are you getting
Mama La Kamala? Tonight we'll have a review of last
night with Rory O'Neil or, your morning show correspondent and
White House correspondent John Decker's going to join us with
preview of Kamala's speech tonight. Last night it was all

(14:03):
about the Minnesota governor's acceptance speech. Well did anybody think
he wasn't going to accept? Mark Mayfield has our story.

Speaker 3 (14:10):
Tim Walls has accepted the vice presidential nomination.

Speaker 4 (14:13):
Thank you, first of all, the Vice President Harris.

Speaker 1 (14:18):
Thanks for putting your trust.

Speaker 4 (14:19):
In me and for inviting me to be part of
this incredible campaign.

Speaker 3 (14:25):
Speaking at the Democratic National Convention last night, Walls thank
Kamala Harris for making him part of the campaign and
said it is the honor of life. The sixty year
old Minnesota governor said he's proud to have protected abortion
rights in his state. He also talked about gun control,
adding our first responsibility is to keep our kids safe.
He said if Donald Trump wins, Medicare will be in
jeopardy and abortion rights will be stripped away. And former

(14:46):
President Clinton addressed the Democratic National Convention in Chicago Wednesday night.
Clinton lauded President Biden for giving up political power and
exiting the twenty twenty four race. The seventy eight year
old also praised the Harris Walls ticket, calling the Pair
two leader who spent a lifetime getting the job done.
Without mentioning Donald Trump by name, he said, the other
guy only cares about me, myself and I that's politics.

(15:08):
Mark Mayfield NBC News Radio.

Speaker 1 (15:10):
And if I wasn't disconntled enough, then Oprah appeared and
no Gail. She said Democrats need to stand together because
when they do, it's impossible to be conquered.

Speaker 7 (15:21):
We're now so fired up we can't wait to leave
here and do something.

Speaker 1 (15:32):
I'm so jealous of all of you that didn't have
to watch this Winfrey went out former President after former
President Donald Trump, but of course pulling the Lord Boltimore
without dare saying his name.

Speaker 7 (15:44):
Now, there's a certain candidate that says, if we just
go to the polls this one time, we'll never have
to do it again. Well, you know what you're looking at,
a registered independent who's proud to vote again and again
and again, because I'm an American and that's what Americans do.

Speaker 1 (16:05):
Couldn't have figured that out without you, Oprah.

Speaker 4 (16:11):
What I do?

Speaker 1 (16:11):
I said all my memories of music, Cee Wonder through
his support beyond Kavla Harris, the music Icon, spoke and
performed at the third night of the DNC in Chicago.
He urged Americans to choose courage over complacency. It's only courage,
of course, if you vote for who they're voting for.
Looks like Robert Kennedy Junior is poised to leave the
race and cast his support to Donald Trump. Meanwhile, former

(16:34):
President Trump responded to the Obama speeches at the DNC
in Raleigh, North Carolina. I love this one.

Speaker 8 (16:43):
Listen to rally in Ashborough, North Carolina today. Trump addressed
the talk of sticking to policy.

Speaker 1 (16:47):
Sure, please fictr policy. Don't get personal and yet take
any personal all night long. Obviously, if you do, I
still have to stick to policy.

Speaker 8 (16:56):
Former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama
repeatedly took jabs at Trump during their keynote speeches at
the DNC. Barack Obama brought up what he described as
Trump's weird obsession with crowd sizes. Meanwhile, Michelle Obama questioned
who would tell Trump that the office he seeking might
just be one of those black jobs in Raleigh. I'm
Lisa Taylor.

Speaker 1 (17:16):
Hi, I'm Michael. I'd love to have you listen to
your morning show live. Every day. We're heard on great
stations like News Talk five point fifty k f YI
and Phoenix News Radio eleven ninety k e X in
Portland and ten ninety The Patriot in Seattle. Make us
a part of your morning routine. We'd love to have
you listen live, but in the meantime, enjoy the podcast,
grab a cup of coffee, let's understand life together. Thanks

(17:37):
for making us a part of your morning routine. All right,
this is your morning show. I'm Michael del Jarno. Jeffrey
Lyons as the controls. We're joined by your morning show
correspondent Rory O'Neill. Ry. I got admit, you know, I'm
getting a little disgruntled in essence. I've had my values, beliefs, policies, dances, disrespected,

(17:59):
miss represented, insulted, attacked. I mean, I'm just kind of
running out of this. But here's my summary, and I
just want to make sure you know if you had
the same take for Nancy Pelosi, you know, this is
that the old party handing the torch to the new party.
It just seemed like her expiration date made her irrelevant.
She played the whole January sixth insurrection, and when she

(18:22):
got to and just like it says in our national anthem,
and the flag was still there, I bout lost my
gram Crackers. Mayor Pete was as boring as I expected
Mary Repete to be Bill Clinton. I'd give anything to
have Bill Clinton be president again compared to what they're
sending us now. But he looked very old, very slow,
very frail. If the question was would it be Governor Tim,

(18:45):
would it be social studies teacher Tim, would it be
military Tim, or would it be coach Tim, it was
definitely Coach Tim. Though I don't think anybody would say
this guy didn't have energy, this guy isn't a good speaker.
I just didn't csarily agree with anything he was saying.
But I thought I thought that was a good performance
for him. Did I miss anything? I mean, I mean,

(19:06):
I'm looking for a you know, we did this the
other day. It took thirty five minutes, but I mean
that I just they're just I don't think there were
any real highlights. In fact, I think it was, you know,
a loss of momentum last night. Uh Oprah, Oh my gosh,
don't get me started on Oprah. Can't Stomacher. So I
don't know. Maybe if you loved Oprah, that was a
good moment, all right, John Legends? Do you wonder? Yeah? Okay,

(19:30):
so they went more you So you didn't feel because
there was a a I mean, coming off the Obamas,
you didn't feel there was a loss of momentum.

Speaker 5 (19:38):
Well, didn't we say yesterday morning that Wednesday night was
going to be a dud.

Speaker 1 (19:43):
Yeah, But I feel like I feel like I'm trying
to not say that and be nice, but yeah, I
kind of it wasn't done.

Speaker 5 (19:49):
For me, it was, I mean, it was headlined in
advance as Pelosi, buddhaj Edge and Tim Walls. I mean,
and after the two Obama spoke the night before. I mean,
but there was nowhere to go but down. I thought
Bill Clinton was bad. I mean, it was bad with
Hillary was leaps and bounds above Bill Clinton's speech in

(20:11):
terms of performance and delivery and that kind of thing.

Speaker 1 (20:12):
Can I ask you personal questions as somebody who's spent
his entire life covering news and I've spent my entire
life being a talk show hoster, just at an American
I wouldn't just I wouldn't leave it at bad. For
some reason, it was sad for me. I don't know
why Bill Clinton was sad for me. I think he
looks very frail. Well, there's that, but it was meandering,

(20:33):
It was not well organized.

Speaker 5 (20:34):
People in the room said he had lid the last
ten minutes, and it sure sounded like it. There was
no momentum, no crescendo, no. And look, Tim Walls, I
think that he's used to speaking at halftimes and that's
all he gets is fifteen minutes, and tight fifteen is
much better than a rambling forty five. And I think
that was the difference in terms of delivery of those speech.

Speaker 1 (20:58):
I will say this, Tim did keep it short, surprisingly short.
Sixteen minutes. Yeah, good, good, he's a good speaker. But
you agree with me good speaker?

Speaker 5 (21:06):
Yeah, yes, And look the Gettysburg address was less than
three minutes. Doesn't have to be you know, real need
to kill all this time? So yeah, I mean, I
thought some more editing, and again it kept things very late.
I thought Josh Shapiro and Wes Moore were both very
strong in their delivery, and you could tell that, you know,
they're just champion at the bit waiting for twenty eight
and thirty two.

Speaker 1 (21:27):
So we'll see, we'll see.

Speaker 5 (21:28):
Yeah, underwhelm, underwhelmed as I expected things to be.

Speaker 1 (21:32):
And I think the best has already happened. Yeah, I
do too. And now again everything's very very scripted, and
I suspect Kamala's speech will be as well. But our
table set for her? What does what do we expect
from Kamala? If we got coached Tim, are we getting
Mamala Kamala? The themes of the week have been freedom,

(21:55):
new the passing of a torch to a new generation. Joy.
I don't think she'll play the weird card.

Speaker 5 (22:02):
Do you no, it's supposed to be something freedom again.
Whatever soda commercial you're watching, it's pretty much the same
kind of theme that's out there.

Speaker 1 (22:10):
And yeah, I.

Speaker 5 (22:12):
Would expect to say from CNN says that they have
sources who say Pink will be performing tonight.

Speaker 1 (22:17):
But also, by the way, on Oprah quickly, is she
still a thing? I mean she is seventy.

Speaker 5 (22:22):
She's been off the air of her daily show since
twenty eleven.

Speaker 1 (22:25):
I had to look that up. Well, they keep selling
this new torch, this new generation. They keep bringing out
expired products. Nancy Pelosi's definitely expired. I think to some degree,
Hillary is borderline. They were willing to give about her,
but a lot of these older players, like Joe himself,
pushed after midnight. I think she would fall under that.
She's very much yesterday's news. I think she relate to

(22:48):
anyone under forty. Oprah that is, I mean, you know
what twenty two year old is going, whoa, it's Oprah.
I don't think no, no, but north Stevie Wonder quite
frankly for that matter. Right, So what I sense in
you is the same thing I sens in me. We're
about done with the show. Plus, I'm tired of being tired.
Get the start thing on time. From your lips to

(23:11):
God this Roy's gonna be back next hour. We'll talk
a little bit more about Kamala's big speech.

Speaker 9 (23:16):
We'll also cram.

Speaker 1 (23:17):
In a quick conversation because I'm actually curious the explosion
in sports betting. What could go wrong there? Right first,
if you're just waking up, our top five stories of
the day, well the biggest by far Coach Tim and
his spirited pre Kamala talk if you will on the
Road to White House report.

Speaker 10 (23:35):
Road to the White House twenty twenty four. Tim Walls
accepted the vice presidential nomination Wednesday night.

Speaker 4 (23:42):
Thank you, first of all, the Vice President Harris.

Speaker 1 (23:47):
Thanks for putting.

Speaker 4 (23:48):
Your trust in me and for inviting me to be
part of this incredible campaign.

Speaker 10 (23:55):
Speaking at the Democratic National Convention, Walls thanked Harris and
said it's the honor of his life. The sixty year
old Minnesota governor said he's proud to have protected abortion
rights in his state. He also talked about gun control,
adding that our first responsibility is to keep our kids safe.
He also said that if Donald Trump wins, abortion rights

(24:17):
will be stripped away in Washington. I'm Brian Schuck.

Speaker 1 (24:21):
Get out there to win one for the Hitler. No,
I'm kidding for a president book that we just talked about,
how frail and slow and meandering much of the speech was.
But listen, this party has two living, two term presidents.
You bring them out Clinton Lawn and President Biden.

Speaker 3 (24:38):
For giving up political power and exiting the twenty twenty
four race.

Speaker 6 (24:41):
It's a stark contrast to what goes on in the
other party. So I want to thank him for his courage, compassion,
his class, his service, his sacrifice.

Speaker 3 (24:55):
The seventy eight year old also praised the Harris Wall's ticket,
calling repair two leaders who's in a lifetime getting the
job done. Without mentioning Donald Trump by name. He said,
the other guy only cares about me myself and I
I'm Marknefield.

Speaker 1 (25:08):
And then there was Oprah and there was no new games.

Speaker 8 (25:12):
Or cars underneath your seeds.

Speaker 1 (25:17):
Just what we can do when we all you know, we're.

Speaker 7 (25:19):
Now so fired up, we can't wait to leave here
and do something.

Speaker 1 (25:25):
And she did bring up Donald Trump, and never by
his name.

Speaker 7 (25:28):
Now there's a certain candidate that says, if we just
go to the polls, this one time, and we'll never
have to do it again. Well, you know what you're
looking at, a registered independent who's proud to vote again
and again and again because I'm an American and that's
what Americans do.

Speaker 1 (25:48):
And when she says again and again and again, she
means in the same election. Through his support behind Vice
President Amamala Kamala Harris, the music icon spoke and performed
at the third night of the DNC in Chicago. Here's
the Americans to choose courage over complacency. He themana to

(26:09):
perform as classic hit Higher Ground. Well, it sure looks
like RFK Junior is about to exit this race and
endorse Donald Trump. Nick Harper has more.

Speaker 11 (26:20):
It's reported that he may drop out in a live
address before appearing on stage with Trump on Friday at
an event in Arizona, where he'll endorse the former president.
RFK Junior, a vaccine skeptic and conspiracy theory proponent, has
struggled in the polls since Kamala Harris took over the
Democratic bid from Joe Biden. Kennedy's endorsement could help the

(26:41):
Republicans blunt Democratic momentum following this week's party convention. In Chicago.
I'm Nick Harper and Washington fitness guru.

Speaker 1 (26:49):
Richard Simmons' cause of death has been revealed as accidental.
Brian Shook has more.

Speaker 10 (26:54):
The Los Angeles Medical Examiner gave the results to Simmons's brother,
who released them to the public when Stay, the seventy
six year old died as a result of recent falls
and underlying heart issues. There were no illegal drugs in
his system when he died last month in his LA home.
Simmons had been out of the public eye for many years.

(27:14):
In recent interviews with reporters, he insisted he was fine
and just wanted privacy. I'm Brian Schuck. You know what
I always say, go bigger, go home, and big sneezes.
They're healthier for you than you'd think. Pre Tennis with
everything we need to know.

Speaker 12 (27:29):
Public Medicine website says the average person sneezes about four
times a day, but maybe you're above average. There are
records of people sneezing up to forty times in a row.
And when it comes to sneezing, medicine dot net says,
the bigger, the better. Window rattling sneezes means you have
a higher lung capacity, and the more air you take
in the louder your sneeze will be coming out. But

(27:51):
cover it up because the sneeze contains about one hundred
thousand germs. I'm pre Tennis.

Speaker 1 (27:57):
Should be God bless me, not God bless you.

Speaker 6 (28:02):
Hi.

Speaker 1 (28:03):
I'm Dennis people of Mississippi, and my morning show is
your morning show, Michael Bill, Jordanhansen, I am Michael del Jorno,
and I accept your nomination for a host of your
morning show. Thank you, Thank you, thank you. On the
Aaron streaming live on your iHeartRadio app off Coach Tim
accepted the nomination last night, and tonight's the Big Tonnis,

(28:26):
the night that Kamala Harris will accept the nomination for
President of the United States following the convention all week,
Thank god it tonight. I wonder you job. We're kind
of all experiencing the hell that is your life every day. Huh,
because I'm certainly ready to move on for presidential politics.
White House Cores bought a John Decker last night. What

(28:49):
was your take on the convention? Loss of momentum or
kept the momentumlive?

Speaker 9 (28:55):
No, kept the momentum alive. A lot of star power
last night, Michael with Bill Clinton, who I was following along.
I had his prepared text, went off that prepared text
quite a bit. That's the reason why it ran so long.
Then you had Oprah Winfrey, and then you had Tim
Walls and Jim Walls. That's the way all speeches should be.

(29:15):
And what I mean by that, Michael, twenty minutes or less. Yeah,
that's the way to do it, right. You kill us
with these hour long speeches. But that's likely what we're
going to hear from Kamala Harris, the nominee for Democrats
this evening when she delivers her speech, her featured speech
to accept the Democratic presidential nomination.

Speaker 1 (29:34):
Okay, so what are the themes you've been hearing all week? Freedom? Joy,
new generation, youth movement, women's rights. I mean, I think
the one that we probably I don't think will come
up as weird, although Coach Tim got weird in last night.
But what do you expect from this speech? And listen,

(29:55):
Donald Trump? I will say this, he did more of
a rally style and and very long. There's an opportunity
for her to take a page from Coach Tim. Keep
this short, keep it scripted, keep it on point, and
then let the balloons fall.

Speaker 9 (30:11):
Well, you're right, you know, but I don't think it's
going to be short. You know, when you factor in
how long we've seen some of these speeches. You mentioned
Donald Trump ninety minutes, it doesn't have to be ninety minutes.
I thought that was way too long. But you know,
when you're the nominee, unlike Tim Walls, you do have to,
you know, talk about what your vision is for the country,
and that takes time. You know, Tim Walls did not

(30:33):
really do that at all, did not talk about policy
at all during the course of his speech. Really, I
think is leaving it to Kamala Harris to go through that.
So for that reason, Michael, I think we're looking at
an hour long speech by Vice President Harris. And looks
she does well in this, you know, these prepared texts,

(30:55):
prepared speeches, reading off teleprompter. She is a pro, as
was a former president named Barack Obama. But the real
test will come in just a few weeks when the
first and only presidential debate takes place. That's September tenth, Tuesday,
September the tenth, Michael, in Philadelphia. I'll be there covering

(31:16):
that event, and that could be a pivotal moment of
this campaign.

Speaker 1 (31:20):
Bill Clinton, Rhodes scholar, former governor, he was a two
term president. You got two living, two term presidents, you
use him Barack Obama of course, with Steller, along with
Michelle Obama, Bill Clinton, much older, frailer, slower. I'm not
going to say it was bad. A lot of people
would say it was bad. For me, it just felt sad.

(31:43):
I don't know why, but you know, even as a conservative,
which I give anything to have a Democrat like bulkletton again,
but he was very older, very weak, and that struck
me as sad. Oprah I don't necessarily get. And then
Nancy really played up the January sixth thing as if
you know, she had no role in any of that
as well. I don't know if Oprah and Stevie and

(32:05):
all that made much of it for me. I think
it had the wend and listen to Republicans experiences as well,
the Wednesday let down, but it really, you know, for
everything we've talked about it's Kamala's job to close the
deal tonight always.

Speaker 9 (32:19):
Has been well, that's right, that's right, and it's closing
the deal. Remember, it's not closing the deal with Democrats.
You can see how united energized that party is with
all those cutaway shots of the delegates there at the convention,
and I saw it in person when I was at
the RNC For Republicans. That's not where you close the deal.
You have to close the deal with those individuals to

(32:41):
described as independence, undecided persuadables. Those are the people that
Donald Trump and Kamala Harris are going after right now
and will continue to go after all the way up
until November the fifth.

Speaker 1 (32:54):
All right, the other big News White House correspondent John
Decker joining us looks like, I mean, I know how
trickles work, and then I know how like you know,
pre announcements work. This isn't rumored, This isn't trickle. We
suspect RFK is going to leave the race and endorsed
Donald Trump. The impact of that, I don't know.

Speaker 9 (33:12):
You don't hear that often from someone you know who's
best questions on radio shows. But that's the honest answer.
I don't know that being said when you're talking about
someone who, according to national polls and also individual states
sometimes Garner's five six percent, and you're talking about a
very close selection.

Speaker 1 (33:31):
It could have an impact.

Speaker 9 (33:33):
It could have an impact in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin and
and Arizona, all of these states where he is on
the ballot and where polls show that he's pulling you know,
five to six percent. That makes a difference on the edges.
I also don't know where that five percent goes. Just
because you get an endorsement, does you get the vote?

(33:54):
All of those people you know will say, I'm going
to follow what Robert Kennedy does, and so that will
be interesting to see how that all plays itself out
as it relates to polls going forward. Now that he
will be out of those polls, I.

Speaker 1 (34:07):
Would expect its out of the race. I would expect
it more Friday than today. But I guess it could
be either right, we're all in this together, this is
your morning show with Michael Hill Show, or not
