(00:22):
and make us a part of your morning routine. In
the meantime, enjoy the podcast.

Speaker 3 (00:26):
Well two three starting your morning off right, A new
way of talk, a new way of understanding because we're
in mitigad.

Speaker 4 (00:38):
This is your morning show with Michael Bill Trump.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
Now the same time flies when you're having fun. But
this week in particular has gone by so fat. You know,
it feels almost like we didn't even have.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
Five days together. Well we kind of didn't. Oh well,
that explains.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
It's six minutes after the hour on the air and
streaming live on your iHeartRadio app. Allow me to be
the first to say good morning and welcome to Friday,
September sixth, Hunter Biden decided he didn't want to embarrass
anyone put his family through anything, so he just quickly
pled guilty and that ends the trial. No discussion of
how he managed to make all those millions to avoid

(01:14):
paying taxes on over a million. After all, the big
Guy's name could have come up. Does this mean a
plea deal is in part an admittance that obviously his
father's going to pardon him. Time will tell. The father
of the suspect of Wednesday's Georgia's shooting. In fact, so
much more about the family has come to light, but
the father himself, Colin Gray, arrested and hit with multiple charges,

(01:36):
including second degree murder. Of course, his son faces four
cases of capital murder and will be tried as an adult.
And the Kansas City Chiefs Chiefs took their first step
towards a three p last night with a twenty seven
to twenty winter of the Baltimore Ravens.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
You know, it's interesting.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
You could always see Patrick Mahomes' wife with Taylor Swift
hugging in December. Yeah, but now once for Trump and
the others for Ham they were nowhere seen together last night.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
They had to separate them. Yeah, they were a good
distance away from each other.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
Oh, politics, it's always got to separate us. Why can't
we just unite, you know, like around forty five himself.
It's Friday with forty five, we say hal to the Chief,
the one we all say hail to. He has the
power because he takes a shower. Ladies and gentlemen, Good morning,
mister President.

Speaker 5 (02:28):
Well I have to say this. According to you, you're
a pizza boy again. You're a birthday boy not too
long ago. Now you have a pizza boy again. We're
very happy to have all pizza boy back and we're
having a great time. I can tell you that we're
having a great time. You see what's going on and
having me a Putin endorsed Kamala you so that he
endorsed her. He wants to back our Putin. She is

(02:49):
touting with Putin officially. I can't believe it. But I
can't believe it. They love Russia, Russia, Russia, don't they.
They love Russia, Russia, Russia Olarus. The only I have
and this is the only question I wonder if Kamala
Harris earned Putin's endorsement the same way she earned Willie
Brown's endorsement.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
Well that's I don't think so, though I have seen
one of them without their shirt out on a horse.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
All right, so the debate is coming up.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
I would assume you'll wind things down in preparation for
the debate. What is your preparation for a debate?

Speaker 5 (03:25):
Well, we've sort of a several different strategies. We debated
a coconut tree, you know, because she likes to talk
about them. We're doing debate prep. We got access to
an actual hyena because they laugh a lot. But we
are generally just preparing to debate essentially a mailbox. You

(03:47):
know that that's the level of intelligence. And by the way,
that's what they think the ballot boxes. They think you
vot in the mail and the ballots show up all
over the place. But we're doing very well. We're doing
extremely well. You see, this is a stupid person, and
we don't have stupid people in our circle, so we
have to find stupid people, you know. We asked Keith

(04:07):
Olberman if he to help with debate prep. He said
he didn't want to do it. We asked Joy Reid,
who you have to look at with eclipse glasses or
you could wind up with retinal damage and explosive diarrhea.
You don't want to do that, she said, she didn't
want to help us with debate prep. So we are
looking for, if anybody's listening, stupid people to help us

(04:29):
prepare for Kamalai Harris because she is a stupid and
incompetent person and we're very ready to take her on
in the debate and take her down.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
Well, at leaked that ABC did give some assurances to her. First,
you know, they agreed to the same debate rules that
you debated Joe Biden. Then they did anything but fight them.
Now we find out through a back channel that the
moderators themselves might be able to turn your microphone on.
I guess I presumably when it fits her. I guess
it begs the question are you preparing for Kamala Harris

(04:59):
and DBC?

Speaker 5 (05:02):
Well, we always have to think about debating the moderators also,
and if we have to do that, then that would
be three stupid people. But it's okay. We're not really
worried about it because we're gonna win. We're gonna win
like nobody's ever seen. We're gonna let it talk. She
wants to say she's sneaking. Go ahead and speak, That's
what we say, Go ahead and speak. Let's see what happens.

(05:23):
I am showing up to the debate with a salad
fork in case she serves a beautiful salad to everybody.
We're gonna start eating right there on stage. Chris Christy's
gonna wish that he was there, except he doesn't eat salads,
does he. I don't think he's had a salad a
day in his life. Actually, today it's Chris Christie's. So

(05:44):
you were the birthday boy last week. Christ he is
the birthday boy this week.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
He's got me by two years.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
He's got me by two years and several pounds. He's
sixty two years old today. I know he's one of
your favorite been caught in his order before.

Speaker 5 (05:58):
We have to wish him a happy birthday.

Speaker 6 (06:00):
You know.

Speaker 5 (06:00):
Maybe he's got a good pie with candles in it.
We'll see what happens, well, maybe several of them. But
we are very happy with this debate. We're very excited
about the debate. And who knows, she still may back out.
I think she's terrified, she's scared, and the American people
are going to see once again what happens when you

(06:20):
put a stupid person on a debate stage with your
favorite president.

Speaker 2 (06:24):
Not stupid but smart is Elon Musk. Can you apparently
have a plan for him?

Speaker 5 (06:31):
Well, he's a very smart guy, and I helped him
build all of his rockets. Nobody knows that I actually
helped them build his rockets. I said, I do. I
went over to I went over to North Korea. I
could tell you how not to build a rocket because
I took the Little rocket Man and he's somebody who
got a little out of control. And then I told

(06:51):
him to settle down. You show me. Remember that. Everybody
remembers that mean tweets They said world War three. I said,
now we're going to do this mean tweets. I said stop,
but he said we're not going to stop it. I said,
you're going to stop it. My button works. He said, sir,
we're going to stop, and he stopped. That's what happened.
But I told Elon, I said, that looks a lot
like little Rocketman's rocket. He said really. I said, yes,

(07:15):
you have to change a few things. He changed it.
Now the rockets are going up like nobody's ever seen.
And he's going to be in charge of trimming the
fat of our government, the Government Efficiency Commission. And after
he's done trimming the fat of our government, I heard
Stacy Abrams says a role for him too. So we'll
see what happens till.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
The gape, all right. So really we don't want to
do post mortem. There's so much more that has to
play out. But the role of RFK, the role of
Telsey Gabbard, the role of Elon Musk. This is much
different than twenty sixteen. This is a powerful alliance.

Speaker 5 (07:52):
We are uniting people. Okay, we are the United States
of America. United. We win, United, we win. Divided, we fall.
We're not going to divide. We love RFK. Call them Bobby.
I've been calling them Bobby for a very long time.
Let's swail the people call them Bobby. But we do
very well, and you have done. No, we call them bobby.

(08:14):
Last people used to call them. Robert I said, Bobby
is a great name. I want to hear, what a
tremendous thing. We're the first people to call him Bobby.
We were the first people. Uh. And you look at
this Tulci. We call her Hula Hula because she's from Hawaii.
Nobody knows the hula better than Tulci Gabbert, and she's fiery,
like the volcanos they have, they're very fiery. And she's

(08:36):
helping us with the debate prep and she was the
person who ended Kamala's career the first time. A we
have Elod, we have so many beautiful people. They are
uniting to save our country, and that's what we're going
to do. We're going to save our country.

Speaker 2 (08:48):
It's interesting because we know how they've attacked you, well
from from the moment you came down the escalator. But
you know, two impeachments, constant lawfare, three trials, an assassination attempt.
But they have also look at what they've done to Rfk,
not allowing him to run in a primary, forcing him
out of the party, then harassing him as much as

(09:11):
you've been harassed in courtrooms across the country. And then
for Telsea Gabbart, a respected lieutenant colonel and she's put
on a terror watch list and harassed when she's traveling.
And then for Elon Musk, I would say, well, maybe
that's the one to really keep an eye on, because
if Kamala should win, she would certainly shut down.

Speaker 5 (09:28):
X and We don't want to see that happen. By
the way, we love X. Everybody's welcome over. There are
some there are some very smart people on the platform.
There are also some very nasty people. But that is
what is known as freedom of speech. You have the
freedom to say what you want. And I used to
have that freedom and then they took it away. We

(09:48):
have a gag order in the porn star case. Can
you believe it? The Stormy Dariel's case has a witness
named Pecker and a porn star and a gag order.
We don't know what the hell's going on. Who the
hell knows? Just WelCom Elves. I can tell you that
the jokes right themselves. I can tell you this. We
look at Elon, we look at Bobby, we look at Tulsea.

(10:08):
What they're doing to these people is absolutely horrible, and
we're going to put a stop to that. You know,
no Americans should be treated like that, whether you're a
political ally or a political adversary, nobody should be treated
like that. And they're being treated so terribly. And you
look at it. Now they're coming back with Russia, Russia, Russia.
Could you believe it? They're back for the fifth election

(10:31):
cycle in a row. They're doing Russia, Russia, Russia. But
Vladimir Putin indorsed the Hyaena. He says she has an
infectious laugh and we don't want that infection. We want
to vaccinate ourselves against that infection. So I encourage everybody
to vote for the candidate who is not indorsed by
Vladimir Putin and the Kremlin, because we're going to put

(10:52):
America first. He doesn't want us to do that. We're
going to put America first.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
Closing moments of Friday with forty five. You know, I
remember before you made your vice residential selection, I was
leaning towards wouldn't it be neat if you could get
together with RFK? Then my number one choice was Telsey Gabbard.
Uh jd Vance was high on my list as well.
And it's just interesting. Some even kick Ronnieln Musk. It's
interesting you end up with all of them in the end.

Speaker 5 (11:17):
Well, they all want it to be a part. We
love JD. He's solid like a rock. We couldn't choose
Elon because he's not from this country, so he can't
serve as president. But we love Kelsey, we love Bobby,
We love Elan JD is doing a tremendous job. The
only person left before the Avengers are all together. You
know who it is, if Snoop Dogg. We're looking at it.

(11:37):
We're working hard, we're trying to get him in the fold.
We love Snoopy has beautiful hair, He's a tremendous guy.
But we're going to see what we can do. And
of course, Pizza Boy, you were on the list, you
were right there. I know you're doing such a tremendous
job with your show you're doing now. Your ratings are crazy.
I can tell you that you're doing so well. You're

(11:59):
hitting all these beautiful markets, and so we have to
keep you right where you are. You're doing a tremendous job,
and the people wouldn't know what to do with us.
I tell you that they would not, so keep it.

Speaker 2 (12:10):
I do get jealous when you do these town halls
with Sean, although I am putting together behind the scenes,
a second debate with you and Kamala for next Friday.
I may even need your help setting that up, but
I think the listeners would really enjoy that.

Speaker 5 (12:23):
Well looking at it, and we would love to talk
about it, and we'll see what happens, but Seya, you
have to be careful. You have to handle her with
gloves and remember to bring a salad for it because
you never know what's coming that much.

Speaker 1 (12:36):
As we always say, stay tuned. There you have it
Friday with forty five.

Speaker 2 (12:42):
He is the chief, the one we all say hail to.
Thank you so much, mister President, for your time.

Speaker 5 (12:47):
As always, God bless your pizza boy, and happy birthday
to Christmasty. How about that incredible sixty two?

Speaker 1 (12:54):
Ben Joyce?

Speaker 2 (12:55):
All right, nineteen minutes after the hour, when we come back,
not one, not two, not three, but your top five
stories of the day is your morning show continues.

Speaker 4 (13:07):
This is your morning Show with Michael del Trono Waking up.
Here's what you need to know.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
The father of the suspect of Wednesday's Georgia school shooting,
and there's so much more to know about this family
has been arrested and charged with murder. Chris Carazio has
the details.

Speaker 7 (13:24):
In coordination with the district with District Attorney Brad Smith,
the GBI has arrested Colin Gray, aged fifty four, in
connection to the shooting here at Appalachi High School.

Speaker 8 (13:38):
Gray was charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter, two
counts of second degree murder, and eight counts of cruelty
to children. His fourteen year old son was charged with
four counts of felony murder and is set to appear
in court Friday morning, where he'll be charged as an adult.
He's accused of killing two students and two teachers at
Appalachi High School and Winder, located about fifty miles northeast
of Atlanta.

Speaker 1 (13:59):
Nine others were injured. I'm Chris Caragio. Well as they say,
it was all over before it even started.

Speaker 2 (14:04):
Hunter Biden pleading guilty in his federal tax trial in
Los Angeles.

Speaker 9 (14:07):
Mark Mayfield reports Center and Dale of surprises and legal wranglings.
The president's son planned guilty to all counts just as
a jury was about to be selected. The president's son
is accused of failing to pay more than a million
dollars in federal taxes between twenty sixteen and twenty nineteen.
He will be sentenced December the sixteenth and faces seventeen
years in prison and over a million dollars in fines.

(14:28):
Legal experts are speculating if the strategy could be part
of a future pardon or commutation, but President Biden seemed
to rule that out in June by Mark Mayfield.

Speaker 2 (14:36):
We're just talking with forty five about the role of
Bobby Rfk, Junior, Telsey Gabbard, Elon Musk. Well as for
Elon Musk, the President has big plans for Elon. Tammy
Trejilio reports, Trump.

Speaker 10 (14:49):
Said, Elon Musk has agreed to head a government commission.
If Trump's re elected in November.

Speaker 5 (14:54):
I will create a Government Efficiency Commission test with conducting
a complete financial and performance audit of the entire federal government.

Speaker 10 (15:03):
He outlined the plan for the commission during remarks at
the Economic Club of New York on Thursday. The proposed
commission would be responsible for auditing federal government spending. It
would also recommend new reforms. During his speech, Trump also
set his economic plan if he wins a second term
in the White House, would bring down inflation. I'm Tammy Trihio, well.

Speaker 2 (15:23):
Joe Biden making well if it was Joe Biden making
announcements from the White House immediately after the shooting in Georgia,
that was certainly premature.

Speaker 1 (15:30):
You should wait until you know more.

Speaker 2 (15:32):
Look how much more we know today, what the Associated
Press has done. Is even more despicable to try to
create a narrative with something JD. Vance didn't say, taken
out of context. Vance is calling for tighter school security,
the hardening of the target. Crazy exists. Danger is out there.

(15:52):
We have to do more to protect our kids and
get beyond just the partisan narrative of blaming the guns.
That's what he really he said in Georgia.

Speaker 1 (16:00):
I don't like this. I don't like to admit this.
I don't like that. This is a fact of life.

Speaker 8 (16:04):
But if you're if you are a psycho and you
want to make headlines, you realize that our schools are
soft targets and we have got a bolster security at
our schools.

Speaker 1 (16:15):
Michael Keaton, do you know what Michael Keaton's real name is?
H I read that the other day. It is Michael
Douglas's it.

Speaker 2 (16:23):
And so when it came time for him to register
his name with the Screen Actors Guild, you can't have
a name that's already registered. So you got the phone
book out came up with Keaton. Michael Keaton. But now
everybody knows who Michael Douglas isn't everybody knows who Michael
Keaton is so he's officially changing his name to Michael
Douglas Keaton, just in time for Beetle Juice. Beatle Juice,

(16:44):
which opens this weekend, is expected to make over one
hundred million dollars. By the way, when the credits roll,
it still says Michael Keaton. Well, they took the first
step towards the three pet Last night, the Kansas City
Chiefs twenty seven to twenty over the Ravens Now with
time expiring. There was a catch in the end zone,
but the likely's foot was out of bounds. The toe

(17:05):
was out of bounds, so the Chiefs survived the scare
and win twenty seven to twenty at home, and we
got a full slate of NFL football.

Speaker 1 (17:13):
Good luck finding it all. It's all over the place,
including tonight on Peacock. Hi, It's me Michael.

Speaker 2 (17:18):
Your morning show can be heard live daily on great
radio stations like News Radio six fifty k e NI Anchorage, Alaska,
Talk Radio eleven ninety Dallas Fort Worth, and Freedom one
oh four seven in Washington, d C. We'd love to
have you listen live every day. Make us a part
of your morning routine. But better late than never. Enjoy
the podcast. This is your Morning Show. I'm Michael Jeffrey

(17:39):
Lion at the controls and your Morning Show correspond correspondent
Roy O'Neil joining us hunter Biden.

Speaker 1 (17:45):
That was a that was a big shocker.

Speaker 2 (17:48):
According to the attorneys, He's trying to avoid further embarrassment.
You know, we had talked about yesterday, Rory, how this
of all the cases, how we earned that money as
he didn't pay that could have gotten into the big guy,
the Vice president of the time, Joe Biden, his father.
So avoid all that, plead guilty and then what wait

(18:11):
for a pardon?

Speaker 1 (18:12):
We assume I.

Speaker 6 (18:14):
Wouldn't assume that. The White House has said repeatedly there
is no pardon in the works. But you know, the
sentencing could be a suspended sentence as well, that one
of those things have keep your nose clean and you
stay out of prison, which I think is probably the
most likely thing. The difference though, is that now he
has yet to be sentenced on the Delaware gun charge,
and he gets to go to that case and say, hey, look,

(18:37):
I don't have a record. This was a first time thing.
It was a paperwork crime. Give me a break, and
they probably will but when he goes for sentencing on
the tax charges, now he goes there in la as
a convicted felon, so the rules are going to be
a little bit different when it comes to sentencing.

Speaker 2 (18:53):
There are a lot of people speculating that he would
be pardoned because when the President made that promise, he
was still a candidate for president.

Speaker 1 (19:00):
Now he's not.

Speaker 2 (19:01):
Why would a father allow that for a son, I guess,
But there's still some time to wait and see if
there's any toy.

Speaker 6 (19:07):
Yeah, and Karina Jean Pierre was asked yesterday and she's
again said no for a pardon or commutation.

Speaker 1 (19:13):
All right, we.

Speaker 2 (19:14):
Talked about this. This is why people should avoid forming.
This is the most dangerous thing we do. In this
narrative and narrative repeating culture. Everybody forms an immediate, immovable
position this shooting. Of course, you're against children being harmed.
That's emotion. As far as I'm concerned, the only thing

(19:36):
I can do is pray for those family members and
then pray for wisdom of leaders to help prevent it
in the future. But people make bold statements. So immediately
we had the President issue a statement saying, this is
why we need Republicans to sit down with Democrats and
come up with sensible gun laws. Then you have JD.
Van saying about, well, we're always wanted to blame the gun.
What about. Look, there's sick people out there, there's circumstances

(19:57):
out there. We got to harden the target and protect
kids in school. That's the way we protect this from happening. Again,
these are all the conversations and narratives, but we're what
forty eight hours into this, and we know so much
more about this family, and it's troubling.

Speaker 1 (20:12):
It is.

Speaker 6 (20:13):
And I'm watching right now the feed of the fourteen
year old sitting there in court about to have his
arraignment on multiple counts of I think it's murder.

Speaker 1 (20:22):
I just wanted to double check the actual charge. But yeah,
so he's.

Speaker 6 (20:25):
Facing multiple charges and his father is facing them as well. Yeah,
the team is facing four felony counts of murder. His
father charged with four accounts of involuntary manslaughter in addition
to eight counts of cruelty to children.

Speaker 2 (20:37):
Yeah, because this is you know, we know specific. I
had to go to the Daily Mail to get this.
I don't know where you got it, but the mom
has a rap sheet a mile long. There's child abuse
in there, there's drugs, there's fraud, there's fraud. Yeah, I mean,
this is a very troubling family. In fact, one relative said,
this kid's been trying to get mental health help, and

(21:00):
the parents and then you know, investigated a year ago,
and then the father thinks it's a good idea to
get him an AR fifteen sole rifle for his birthday.
If something this points all to the family, it certainly does.

Speaker 6 (21:11):
And yeah, but that's a mindset that is there as
well that it's to your point, it's difficult to combat.

Speaker 2 (21:18):
We said this at the very beginning, and I'll end
with this because I know you need to shuffle off.
He's not dead, he wasn't shot, and he didn't kill himself.
Can we learn a lot from this fourteen year old
because if this is what we know after twenty four hours,
imagine how differently this may all look by Monday.

Speaker 1 (21:34):
Probably not.

Speaker 6 (21:35):
You know, we can say the same thing about the
Parkland school shooter at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High.

Speaker 1 (21:39):
He's alive.

Speaker 6 (21:40):
Didn't tell us much. It really just sometimes we don't
like the answers that they give us. But it tends
to note it highlights the fact that all these warning
signs are constantly ignored, step after step.

Speaker 1 (21:53):
Or He also hosts The Weekend Dive.

Speaker 2 (21:54):
You can catch that on your iHeartRadio app anywhere and
on stations across the country.

Speaker 1 (21:58):
What's up this weekend?

Speaker 6 (22:00):
A whole lot of it being rewritten in the past
twenty four hours, I'm sure. So there's more on the
legal battle here now that's unfolding in Georgia as these
charges have been filed. Plus we'll talk more about election
interference from international forces Russia and China in the news
this week.

Speaker 2 (22:17):
The Weekend Dive with Rory O'Neil. I highly recommend it
and trying to get some rest too. We'll talk again
on Monday. It was just waking up forty minutes after
the hour, twenty minutes to be to.

Speaker 1 (22:28):
Work on time.

Speaker 2 (22:29):
And this when you get to work, is what you
need to know. We don't want you to be the
uninformed one in the office, as we just documented. And
so it appears Hunter Biden has pled guilty. So there
will be no trial in Los Angeles, and we'll see
if there'll be a sentencing, and we'll see if there

(22:49):
will be any kind of pardon coming from his father,
the President of the United States, before he leaves office
in January. The father of the suspect of Wednesday's Georgia
shooting says he bought the gun as a gift for
his son. Not a very wise idea. The son was
investigated a year ago for threatening school of violence. That's
an interesting gift, no wonder. The son's being charged with

(23:10):
four counts of murder, his father, four counts of involuntary manslaughter,
and two counts of second degree murder among the multiple charges.
Jade Vance is calling for tighter security after the recent
school shooting in Georgia. There's been games played with a
associated press giving incomplete statements. No, he wasn't saying we
should just get used to gun shootings at schools and back.

Speaker 1 (23:32):
He was saying just the opposite.

Speaker 2 (23:33):
We got to get beyond gun gun laws and get
to mental illness and the moral breakdown in America and
mostly hardening these targets and protecting our schools. As crazy
as out there, we got to keep crazy from entering
these buildings in the first place. And there'll be a
lot of investigating into just you know, the path of
this fourteen year.

Speaker 1 (23:54):
Old on that day.

Speaker 2 (23:55):
How did he get a gun in and where did
he enter the school from. We'll try to learn more
and hopefully do better to protect the next one. And
YouTube is taking down channels linked to that right wing
influencer who was accused of having Russian connections. That's YouTube's
first step towards this. And the state of Texas is
suing the Biden administration trying to block a rule protecting

(24:18):
the privacy of women who get abortions.

Speaker 1 (24:21):
These are just some of the top stories waking up
this morning.

Speaker 2 (24:26):
This is Dava Morris from our little town of Franklin, Tennessee.

Speaker 8 (24:29):
My morning show is your morning show with Michael Bill Jornio.

Speaker 1 (24:34):
Jeffrey's been nagging me.

Speaker 2 (24:37):
Actually, the slogan comes from David Sanati, believe it or not,
came up with the idea. We just wanted to find
a way for everybody to kind you know who I am,
I don't know who you are, So part of it
is introducing yourself to me. But also it's your morning show,
meaning together, it's not my morning show, it's all of
your morning show. So it was an attempt to get

(24:58):
you to introduce yourself to each other, whether you're in Phoenix, Arizona,
or Sacramento, California, or Dallas, Texas, or Saint Louis or
Nashville or Washington, DC. So and then everybody just kind
of got it. So we haven't had a problem with this.
But what you're supposed to do is say something like, Hi,

(25:20):
I'm Michael del Journo from Saint Louis, Missouri, and my
morning show is your morning show with Michael del Jorno, Okay.

Speaker 1 (25:28):
And we need to remind people of that format.

Speaker 2 (25:31):
Otherwise you just get really lovely messages like this.

Speaker 11 (25:35):
This is Kay from Surprise, Arizona, and every morning I
wake up with Michael del Jorno and it is so
good because my radio show is your radio show.

Speaker 9 (25:51):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (25:51):
First of all they today, first of all that could
be scandalous have taken out of context the way the
AP took Jadevands out of content.

Speaker 1 (26:00):
Thank you for taking time to do that. No, absolutely,
but yeah, that's just it. This is kind of like
but think of it this way, just as a tutorial.

Speaker 2 (26:08):
Think of yourself, not as talking to me and certainly
not being used as some pawn to promote me. Think
of yourself as a part of a family, your morning
show family from all over the country, and this is
your way of introducing yourself to people in other places.
I also think there's a city pride if you want
to throw a shout out for your radio station too, possibly,
but that's what it is. So it's kind of like

(26:30):
your name where you're from. My morning show is your
morning show. That's although we love that, we love them all.
Don't get us wrong. We appreciate the effort. But I
don't mean to be a nag, but I'm looking for
but you are a nag.

Speaker 1 (26:46):
I'm sorry. I apologize.

Speaker 2 (26:47):
We're waiting on John Decker to talk a little bit
about a great year in tennis for Americans, and if
nothing else, I wanted to reveal to you one of
the great passions of his life goes beyond politics. He's
a great White House course, and he's also a Supreme
Court bar attorney and a great attorney. But he's also
spent his life in love with the game of tennis.

(27:08):
And a lot of people know this. He's on the
board of International Tennis Hall of Fame. So we're gonna
end with a little bit of sports. As far as
other sports. Listen. Patrick Mahomes is Patrick Mahomes, and they've
got speed like you can't imagine at wide receiver. They've
got two guys that are as faster, faster than Tyreek Hill.

(27:28):
I mean, they just continue with the personnel. So it's
one of the premier offenses in all of football. And
it's a very tough place to play Arrowhead Stadium. But
what impressed me the most, and we could go through
all the numbers, nearly three hundred yards passing for Mahomes
including a touchdown. I thought the defense, that defense of

(27:48):
the Kansas City Chiefs last night against a very good
Baltimore Ravens offense. That's the kind of defense you need
to three pete. So you know throughout the pregame, and
it was delayed by weather, so we got extended pregame.
The conversation was can they threepeat? And the answer is,
of course they can. There's gonna be some rising teams,
especially in the AFC. Houston's going to be very good

(28:08):
this year. The Texans Buffalo, I think is peaked. I
think you're going to see the fall falling of the Bills.
I'd be surprised if they can stay in that upper echelon.
But can they repeat? Yeah, I think the toughest challenges
will come out of the NFC. But they sure looked
good last night, and they took their first step. Although
it wasn't easy. It's a close game throughout. There was

(28:30):
likely made the catch in the end zone as time expired.
We probably would have gone to overtime, but just the
portion of his toe was on the line, and they
survive twenty seven to twenty and the Chiefs are off
to one to oh start, and we're all off to
a twenty twenty four NFL season and a full action
including tonight. We got the Packers in a Friday night

(28:53):
game and that's on Peacock. So last night NBC Tonight Peacock.
Then you got all these people direct TV that don't
have apn for college football or for any other NFL
Like knowing where the NFL is is going to be
your toughest challenge this year.

Speaker 1 (29:07):
All right?

Speaker 2 (29:07):
John Decker is a Supreme Court bar attorney. That's impressive.
Or did you go to law school? By the way, I.

Speaker 12 (29:17):
Went to George Washington University Law School in Washington, DC.
Jonathan Turley, who you may see on Fox News from
time to time, one of my mentors, so I owe
so much to him, and that was a great experience
that I had studying law in.

Speaker 2 (29:35):
The NAT You are disgustingly impressive, all right, So a
Supreme Court bar attorney, George Washington law school graduate. Then
you go on to become for a long time White
House correspondent, which you do to this day, and then
of course a lifelong love affair with the game of tennis.
And then I didn't know until preparing for today's show
that you're on the board of the International Tennis Hall

(29:56):
of Fame.

Speaker 1 (29:56):
I did not know what I am.

Speaker 12 (29:58):
Yeah, I am, and that means I don't know. It's
my passion, so that I think that's one of the
reasons for that. But in any case, the reason why
you mentioned that is because I am in New York
City as we speak. I'm getting ready for the semis
semi finals for men's tennis at the US Open, which

(30:21):
will take place today. The women's final will take place tomorrow.
I'll be there and also the men's championship on Sunday.
So really looking forward to that. And it's American tennis
that we're talking about. We got two Americans in one
semis on the men's side. We have one American female
player who's made the finals on the women's side. That
hasn't happened and quite some time. The last time there's

(30:42):
been a man, an American male to win the US Open,
you'd have to go all the way back to two
thousand and three. That was when Andy Roddick won the
US Open.

Speaker 2 (30:51):
I'm trying to think of the last time we had
two men in the semi finals. Well, I know we
did with McEnroe, and I can't.

Speaker 1 (31:00):
Remember who he played now, but yeah, this is rare.

Speaker 2 (31:04):
I mean, we are going in with for a while,
we had the potential three out of four Americans and
a semi I really don't remember the last time that happened.

Speaker 12 (31:13):
Yeah, it's been such a long time. I mean, if
I told you the name Robbie Jeepriy, you probably wouldn't
know who that is. But that's the last time there
was a two American males in a semi final, as
Andre Agassi against Robbie Jepprie. That was back in two
thousand and nine. And this is a rarity, but hopefully

(31:34):
it's the beginning of what we see in the Grand
Slats with American men and American women just dominating tennis
and the way they used to.

Speaker 1 (31:41):
You know, this is interesting to pick your brain on.

Speaker 2 (31:44):
This is my big question of the day I saw
you know, you watch baseball now and it has been
taken over by Latin America, and soccer became a big
focus in America, and certainly with the women's soccer team,
you know, we've made a great resurgence. How has all
of this focus affected tennis. When I was growing up,
tennis was a big deal in my life. Now not

(32:06):
so much. I mean I grew up knowing everything about
Jimmy Connors, everything about Chrissy Evert, everything about laorn Borg,
you know, and it just doesn't seem to So this
is a big deal. If America can rise again to
the top in tennis.

Speaker 12 (32:19):
Well, you're right, it's a big deal because you know,
for youngsters, they can look up and see some very
talented players and emulate them, use them as role models.

Speaker 1 (32:30):
You know.

Speaker 12 (32:30):
Andy Roddick used to say that his role models were
the people that you talk about, you know, Jimmy Connors
and John McEnroe, even Andre Agassi. And for a younger generation,
they look up to people like Taylor Fritz and Francis Tioffa,
who will play in the Semis later today. So it's
a real great opportunity if you're a great athlete and
you're young in America, you have so many great options

(32:53):
in terms of team sports football, basketball, soccer, but individual sports,
Tennis I think is making a comeback in that regard,
and the fact that Americans are doing so well at
the US Open is not only a good thing now,
but it's just good for the sport overall.

Speaker 2 (33:09):
And don't feel a need to defend, but thanks to
Tiger Woods, who's bigger than the game, and we all
know what Tiger Woods did for the game of golf.
How much did the rise of golf lead to the
falling away of tennis.

Speaker 12 (33:21):
I think that has a lot to do with it. Absolutely.
Tiger Woods, you know, individual sport, you know also you know,
competes with tennis in terms of getting those great athletes.
That certainly had an impact in terms of what talented
athletes decide to do.

Speaker 2 (33:39):
What a tough assignment. I mean, normally you're having to
follow around politicians. Yeah, this weekend you get to hang
out at the US Open, and we got three got
we got a female in the finals, and two US
males in the semi finals.

Speaker 12 (33:53):
That's that's pretty big, Stufla for America in the women's
final that will be tomorrow, and it will at least
one American man in the final, given that they're playing
in one of the semi finals today.

Speaker 2 (34:05):
So fritz Er, Yeah, No, I was going to say,
part of the problem is I grew up wearing Stan Smiths.
When I was very, very young, Conference all stars were
still big, but then Stan Smith's aditas became really big.

Speaker 1 (34:16):
That's all I wore throughout high school. We need more
simple names like that. Part of what's killing tennis is
we can't pronounce the names.

Speaker 12 (34:24):
That's right, exactly. Well, Stan Smith just want to let
you know he's actually on the board of the International
Tennis Hall of Fame and he wrote a best selling
book called I'm More Than Just a Shoe. So keep
that in mind, Michael, He's more than just a shoe.

Speaker 2 (34:37):
You're giving me the years. You go buy a pair
this weekend, all right, have a great time, great reporting.
Good for you, America ruling at the US Open. Come
back with a couple victories for US, and we'll talk
again next week.

Speaker 12 (34:48):
Thanks, Michael, talk to We're all.

Speaker 4 (34:50):
In this together. This is your morning show with Michael
Hill showing up.
