Speaker 5 (01:46):
No more.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
You can instantly ask a question, instantly common on what
we're talking about. Some people use that to record there.

is your morning show with Michael del Journal. That's not
to sell me, that's introduce yourself to your fellow listeners
across the country. So you can always email to Michael
di atiheartmedia dot com. We appreciate you waking up with
us this morning, eight minutes after the hour. What do
you need to know well. Hurricane Helen is now the
(02:08):
deadliest storm to hit the mainland since Katrina. The death
toll has risen to two hundred and fifteen and with
one hundreds still unaccounted for, expected to rise even more.
I hope you smell something fishy at our port. I
think I had this one figured out from the beginning.
The long Sharman wanted to use the political tension to
get what they wanted, so they took this opportunity. Joe
(02:31):
Biden could have stepped in with the taft tartly, but
he has to be pro Union Joe, and let's face it,
Joe's probably not real happy with his own party, who
threw him in a trunk and gave all his delegates
to Kamala Harris. So he said he wasn't going to intervene. Well,
the party looks like it intervened with union leaders. They suddenly,
all of a sudden, we got all this toilet paper
gathered and they got themselves a deal at far less
(02:51):
money than they were asking. And they haven't even addressed automation.
You should be smelling a I wonder if forty five
smells a rat with that. It's Friday, It's Friday with
forty five Helm to the Chief. He's the one we
all say heil too. He has the power because he
takes a shower. Ladies and gentlemen, Good morning, mister President.
Speaker 7 (03:11):
Well good morning to you, pizza boy. And I just
want to say I heard you're welcoming in a brand
new radio station in San Francisco. And we love these people,
except the people who obviously gave Kamala Harris a head start.
And by that I mean Montel Willie and one of
the horrible people. If you were a fan of Kamala Harris,
(03:34):
we're going to stick you in Alcatraz. But is okay?
Speaker 5 (03:38):
I love that too.
Speaker 7 (03:39):
And by the way, I built Alcatraz, and I often
named the Golden gate bridge the Golden Gate you know.
I named it because nobody knows gold like me. I
love gold. But we're doing a tremendous job, and you're
doing a tremendous job. I have to tell you that.
Speaker 1 (03:53):
Well, I do what I can. I notice you're calling
Kamala lion Kamala. Well, I guess you could come up
with the best. I mean, I mean, she does lie.
I guess, but I don't know. Have you thought about other.
Speaker 7 (04:06):
Nicknames, Well, we've thought about many of them, but a
lot of them are not appropriate and we're not allowed
to say them. The FCC would get very upset with us.
They'd be more upset with us than they were with
the late Great George Carlin back when he said the
seven Dirty Words. A lot of those words I can
use to describe kamal but we can't do that, and
(04:26):
we're not going to do that. But we will call
her lyon Kamala. We'll call her cackling, comrade, communist Kamala.
We call her a hyena. You know that she's a hyenas.
She lives. She's terrible. You know, she's like the hyenas
from the Lion King, you know the Lion King. I
(04:48):
got a look very well with Mufasa. I gotta look
very well with Simba. We love Simba very well with
I gotta look very well with Rafiki. Remember Rafiki. We
get that one with the behind. He's going to red behind.
And we got along very well with Timone and Pumba.
They called me the Hakuna Matana President. You know, no worries,
(05:10):
they say, no worries for the rest of you days
for doing that. So We'll call her lying Kamala, we'll
call her cackling, comrade Kamala, we will call her all
sorts of things that we're allowed to call her, because
she's doing a terrible job. She's giving all of your
money to people who are not supposed to be here,
and they're hurting our country, and we're going to say
(05:31):
about country. We're going to do that.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
I have to say, and I said this behind your back.
I didn't want to see any of the candidates in
this race to make tragedy, real human playing out in
real time, tragedy politics and a campaign opportunity. I thought
what you did in Georgia was very tasteful. Didn't feel
the same way about how Kamala Harris tried to take
(05:55):
advantage of it.
Speaker 5 (05:56):
But I think people are seeing.
Speaker 1 (05:58):
What the government, if we give them carte blanche and
complete control, how they can fail to take care of you.
So we have FEMA members staying at the casino playing blackjack.
Speaker 5 (06:10):
You can see that on social media.
Speaker 1 (06:13):
We got billions and billions to send to Ukraine, or
billions and billions to spend on illegals, but we're giving
people seven hundred and fifty dollars at a time where
they've lost everything, including human life.
Speaker 5 (06:23):
It's just it's not playing out well for them.
Speaker 7 (06:27):
It's a slap in the face, okay. And he is
the cackling comrade. She's in front of the people and
she says, apply for you crumbs. Seven hundred and fifty
dollars doesn't get you anything, Okay, It doesn't get you anything,
Especially in cackling comrade Kamala's economy. It's really terrible. And
you see billions of dollars with a B. You know
(06:49):
that it's almost more money than I'm worth. Almost I'm
worth a lot more than that. But I'm helping people.
We're are helping people, and we're trying to make sure
that the people of western North Carolina east to See Georgia, Florida,
and so many other places are getting the help they deserve.
You know, you pay taxes because the government is supposed
to be there for you in times of me national defense. Meanwhile,
(07:11):
we're defending other people's borders, we're defending other people's lifestyles.
We're giving money to illegals. We're rolling out a big,
beautiful rent carpet that says Magon, it would never say
that if I was your president because we don't want
Magan to mean invasion. But they're rolling out a big,
beautiful rent carpet twenty million dollars. That's a lot of
(07:32):
money in San Francisco. I'm sorry, San Diego. The fake
news is going to be all over me for that,
San Diego, twenty million dollars for a welcome center for
the bandam Breds. Could you believe that? This is a
horrible thing we're seeing. But we can't help the people
from Hurricane Helen. We can't help the people who got
swept away in floods, who lost everything. They get seven
(07:54):
hundred and fifty dollars. What are disgrace? When I'm your president,
We're going to take care of Americans again. That's the
way it should be. Kamala Arris is a disgrace, and
we're going to hold her politically accountable. That's what we're
going to do.
Speaker 1 (08:06):
I'm going to get to the debate in a second.
But a lot of the polling information just from this
last forty eight hours that I've been looking at support
for Democrats and places where they always got support. You know,
how they can energize college campuses and harvest and register
voters and the campuses aren't leaning Kamala's way, They're leaning
(08:29):
your way. They only have fifty two percent of black
Muslim vote. Makes me wonder if Michigan really is in play.
Polls and what to trust and what they're showing. We're
seeing black Hispanics, youth all not swinging partisanally for their
normal party. Does that give you a tremendous amount of confidence?
Speaker 7 (08:55):
I wake up every day, I look in the mirror
and I see Donald J. Trump looking back at me,
and it gives me a lot of confidence. See, I'm
a beautiful person. I am a beautiful head of air.
I've got a beautiful complexion. But it also gives me
confidence to see the young people. We love the young people.
And we love the old people too, but we love
the young people. These are the youngest and the most
(09:16):
incredible people, the future of our country. And they're coming around.
You know, they're coming. They say she'll be coming around
the mountain, and they're coming right around. They're coming around
the mountain. They're seeing that. You know, they want a
government that's going to help them, that's good to put
our country first, not these other people. And we look
up the college campuses.
Speaker 4 (09:36):
You know that.
Speaker 7 (09:36):
But they see me, they see her, they see a
beautiful person, and then they see a horrible person, and
they want to vote for the beautiful person. So they're
coming my way. They're voting my way, and we're very
happy about it.
Speaker 1 (09:47):
I've course the numbers. We need North Carolina to hang on.
We need Georgia, we need Arizona. I think we have
those in Abat. It might be a little bit iffy,
but you know, the bottom line is something's got to give.
It's got to be Wisconsin, it's got to be Michigan
or Pennsylvania. What do you think is the swing state
that give you the best opportunity to win.
Speaker 7 (10:06):
Well, we love Pennsylvania. We're doing very well in Pennsylvania.
You have Scott Pressler and he's doing a fantastic job.
And he has a beautiful head of hair too. It
goes down all the way to his waist. It's a
long head of air. And I told him, I said, Scott,
we have to grow your hair very very long. Scott,
and you know, he said, I think it's a fantastic idea.
(10:27):
And Bobby, you know Bobby RFK, We call um Bobby.
He's a great guy. He agreed. He said Scott has
to grow his hair very long. So he's doing very
well in Pennsylvania. But we love Wisconsin. We love Michigan
as well. And in Wisconsin we have the fans of
the Green Bay Packers. We love the Green Bay Packers
that cheese heads. We're going to be sending out red
(10:48):
cheese heads that say Mega and we'll see what happens
if they make into Limbo Field. We love Lambeau. I
built Lambeau. I named it the Frozen Tundra. We love it.
I didn't know that I built it. I built it.
I taught Brett Farve. You sow Brett Farvey supporting me.
I taught him how to play. We love him uh
and so many other people. But we look at the
(11:10):
swing states. We think we're gonna win them all. You
know that. We think we're gonna win them all. In
a fair election, we'd win all fifty states. But we
have to put up with a lot of what they
call Shenanigans. We don't like shenanigans or the daiziness. We
don't like that either. It's a New York court we
don't like. We don't like that. But we're gonna win.
(11:32):
We think we're gonna win at Pennsylvania. We love Pennsylvania,
the city of brotherly love. Philadelphia. You have these working
class people that are realigning to vote for me, and
it's hard to be loved in Philadelphia. You know, they
booed Santa Claus at an Eagles game, but they love
them some. Donald J. Trump, I'll tell you that. To
win Pennsylvania, like nobody's ever.
Speaker 1 (11:52):
Seen, coombarded Santa with snowballs. All right, final moments with
Friday with forty five the vat debate. You couldn't have
been more pleased with the formance of JD.
Speaker 4 (12:01):
Vance.
Speaker 5 (12:01):
And he had the three on one two.
Speaker 7 (12:04):
He had the three on one. But he did a
tremendous job. And you saw the sock. We called that
the Vance glance. It's the greatest thing in the history
of the world. And you had Elma Fudd on the
other side. He had no idea what the hell he
was talking about. It looked like JD was debating crooked
Joe Biden. It was really bad. But you saw that
tampon Tim He's a terrible person, stolen valor. He's got
(12:28):
a lot of problems. JD. Vance did a tremendous job.
The only person who probably could have done better is
quite frankly me, but I can't do that. I'm not
running for vice president. We love JD and maybe Snoop
Dogg would have done well too, But we love JD.
You would have done well also. I think you were
thrown pizza sauce at him. You would have thrown it
at him. It would have been great. But we're very
(12:49):
happy there was no food fights and JD Vance did
a tremendous job, I can tell you that.
Speaker 5 (12:54):
And CBS despicable, disgusting.
Speaker 7 (12:58):
CBS did a horror job. And these hosts and the
moderators that are horrible jobs should be ashamed of themselves.
They cut off j D. They should be ashamed. They're disgraceful.
Their ratings are horrible. Your ratings are great because you
do a fantastic job. Their ratings are terrible because they
did a horrible job.
Speaker 5 (13:16):
They're in Friday with forty five.
Speaker 1 (13:18):
Everyone say hell to the chief, thank you for your time,
mister president.
Speaker 7 (13:23):
Thank you, and God bless your pizza boy. You're doing fantastic.
We'll see you next week.
Speaker 5 (13:27):
Can't wait.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
Not one, not two, not three, Your top five stories
of the day are next. It's twenty minutes after the hour.
Thanks for driving to work with your morning show.
Speaker 5 (13:36):
This is your Morning Show with Michael DELTONA.
Speaker 1 (13:40):
What a week if they had the big port strike
that was all wind up in no pitch, a political
stunt gone wrong, the big veep debate. Hardly believe it's
been a week since Urricane Helen slammed into the Florida coast.
Jason Campedonia is going to be joining us with how
the recovery is going, and Aaron Reale with the extraordinary
(14:01):
story of the cavalry on its way to help and
the use of mules to get necessary relief into the
high mountains areas. That more coming up ad minutes. But first,
if you're just waking up twenty six minutes.
Speaker 5 (14:13):
After the hour, prod big story is the dock workers.
They're back at worked. Well, that was fast. Here's Mark Mayfield.
Speaker 8 (14:21):
Sources say that members of the International Longshoreman's Association and
management groups have reached a tentative deal on wages. The
dock workers will be back on the job at ports
on Friday. According to the reports, the two signs are
agreeing to extend the expired contract until January fifteenth. Fifty
thousand union members working from Maine to Texas walked off
the job early Tuesday morning. The strike had led to
(14:42):
uncertainty about the movement of supplies as the nation heads
into the holiday season. I'm Mark Mayfield.
Speaker 1 (14:47):
Hurricane Helene is now the deadliest storm to hit the
mainland US since Katrina. Lisa Taylor has details from Raleigh.
Speaker 9 (14:53):
Officials say at least two hundred and two people have
died due to the storm that slammed the southeast a
week ago, and sixty one people have died in Buncom
County alone in North Carolina, where Sam Brock reports there.
Speaker 3 (15:03):
Are still dozens of towns that are not accessible except
by plane or either mule in some cases supplies being
taken up that way. And then the infrastructure hit is enormous.
This is one micro example, a huge crater in the
road here. It's lining up and down this main highway,
Highway seventy as. Residents don't know if it's going to
be weeks or months before they have running water again.
Speaker 9 (15:23):
The death toll will likely continue to go up as
hundreds remain missing. Amy said Taylor.
Speaker 5 (15:28):
You think he'd learned from Taylor Swift, but the Boss,
Bruce Springsteen is in darsing Kamala Harris for president.
Speaker 2 (15:33):
I've only got one vote, missed one of the most
precious possessions that I had. That's why come November fifth,
I'll be casting my vote for Kamalweall Harrison.
Speaker 5 (15:41):
Tim Wals It's a powerful spokesperson.
Speaker 1 (15:43):
In the video posted on social media, the Boss says
President Trump shouldn't be allowed to take office ever again.
Speaker 2 (15:48):
It is disdained for the sanctity of our constitution, the
sanctity of democracy, the sanctity of the rule of law,
and the sanctity of the peaceful transfer of power should
qualify him from the office of prison.
Speaker 1 (16:02):
Probably speaking on behalf of everyone from our talkback listening
to news Talk five point fifty KFYIJ had this response.
Speaker 4 (16:10):
Just for the record, the so called Boss is a
freaking idiot. He lost all my respect decades ago.
Speaker 1 (16:18):
Country music star Garth Brooks is accused of sexually assaulting
his hairstylist and makeup artist, Brian Shook.
Speaker 5 (16:25):
Has that store.
Speaker 10 (16:26):
Jane Rowe in the lawsuit says she worked for the
singer when the alleged incidents happened in twenty nineteen, she
alleges Brooks raped her once during a work trip. Brooks
has previously denied her claims. I'm Brian Shook.
Speaker 1 (16:41):
Well, it's the weekend, wanting a belt to start it off.
A national day today for those over twenty one. Bre
Tennis has the story.
Speaker 11 (16:49):
Today we celebrate the most popular spirit in the world,
selling seven point two billion dollars worth every year. It's
National Vodka Day. Sixty one percent of us drink it
usually miss because it is high octane about forty percent alcohol.
That's eighty proof. It's Russia's national drink. Once thought to
fight colds, flues, and cancer. The CDC says it doesn't,
(17:11):
but it is locale at ninety calories a shot. I'm
Bree Tennis.
Speaker 1 (17:16):
Hi, I'm Michael. I'd love to have you listen to
your morning show live. Every day We're heard on great
stations like News Talk by point fifty k FYI and
Phoenix News Radio eleven ninety k EX in Portland at
ten ninety the Patriot in Seattle. Make us a part
of your morning routine. We'd love to have you listen live,
but in the meantime, enjoy the podcast.
Speaker 5 (17:35):
My daughter informed me. She has a crush on JD
Vance and I saw Andrew sent me about three yesterday.
I don't care to talk about them on the.
Speaker 1 (17:43):
Show, but interesting individuals who would suddenly be taken by
jd Vance and perhaps vote differently. He seems to have
made some kind of an impact with his looks, telling
you the guys. I didn't see that one coming at all,
but I just like to hear him say, mem I
mean do yeah, you were quite taken, more taken by
(18:06):
the movie than me. I had a far more dysfunctional
childhood than J Dance. But I don't have his blue eyes.
Speaker 5 (18:11):
Aaron, Apparently everybody is falling in love with JD Vance's
eyes and.
Speaker 12 (18:17):
They're beautiful, like he does have Brillian nice eyes.
Speaker 5 (18:20):
Really, yeah, you don't.
Speaker 4 (18:22):
Think I don't mind.
Speaker 5 (18:24):
I don't. I don't have any don't I just don't
have any looks.
Speaker 12 (18:28):
You know, when you put jd Van's eye into Google,
jd vance eyeliner comes up.
Speaker 5 (18:34):
Well, it's the jd glance. It's definitely making its mark.
Speaker 1 (18:37):
All right, let's talk about It's hard to believe it's
been a week now since Helene crashed into the coasts
of Florida, and the rescue recovery death will now up
to two hundred and fifteen, second deadliest mainland hurricane since Katrina.
You and I love the eyes of horses, and I
was trying to remember. I think, if you made a
horse and a donkey, you get a mule. Well, here
(18:59):
comes the mules and the cavalry to help those in
the high hills.
Speaker 5 (19:02):
Tell us this great.
Speaker 12 (19:03):
Story, Michael, I love this story. On an intense newsweek,
this just brought a smile to my face. So there's
a team of mules there from the mount Ula based
Mountain Mule Packer Ranch. They are bringing supplies, really really
important supplies. I'm talking insulent, diapers, food, water, batteries to
(19:25):
the very hard hit western parts of North Carolina that
are completely It's not like the road is flooded.
Speaker 9 (19:31):
There is no road.
Speaker 12 (19:32):
It's gone, it's buckled. It's going to take probably decades
to really properly rebuild all this. But while yeah, sure
you can drone some stuff in, maybe a helicopter can
come in, but can't land everywhere. It can just drop stuff,
these beautiful creatures are bringing life saving relief to the
hardest reach areas. I say this all the time when
things go really, really really sideways, I do believe it's
(19:55):
going to be our equine friends that save us. Everything
is a computer. Everything can know work autonomously until it can't.
Speaker 5 (20:03):
It's extraordinary, by the way.
Speaker 1 (20:04):
The way these you know, it's appropriate to say the
cavalry's coming, they just they just line them up and
load their backs with supplies and they all in a
straight line, just Jeremiah Johnson, their way up up the
mountains and to the people it is it is extraordinary,
by the way, Just to get people a little background,
I've always had a love for horses. Aaron rides all
the time because she plays polo. But yeah, this there
(20:27):
is a kind of return, because isn't that really the
greatest fear that you know, one emp we could be
in the sixteen hundreds again and guess what, your cars
don't work, guess what your phones don't work. Guess what
there are no computers and so you know, you can
get back to the basics real quick. But the role
that the mules and horses are playing in this recovery
(20:49):
an untold story, and it's an extraordinary.
Speaker 12 (20:51):
One, an extraordinary one. And they are strong, they're agile,
they're they're wise, they don't care about these roads are fun. Yeah, yes,
we can do it problem and I think the idea
that I love, like bring it to today. Yeah, we're
petering on the edge more.
Speaker 7 (21:07):
So than we think.
Speaker 5 (21:08):
And I've I obviously love horses.
Speaker 7 (21:11):
I'm a little biased.
Speaker 12 (21:11):
I know they scare some people, but they are they
are wise, good creatures. They are gentle creatures. They are
not they're not aggressors. Like they're not gonna they might
like snip at you, but like the worst they could
do is charge, and that's very rare. What they are
are human friends, and they're helpful and in times of real,
real strife, when nothing can get there and the computers
aren't working, they come to the rescue.
Speaker 1 (21:33):
I started the wicked rumor that you ride a horse
called Wildfire when you play polo. I never did ask
you what's your horse's name?
Speaker 12 (21:41):
I do not, but I am going to name my next.
Speaker 4 (21:44):
Horse Wildfire for sure.
Speaker 5 (21:45):
What's what's the currents?
Speaker 12 (21:46):
Such a good name, particularly for a polo body.
Speaker 4 (21:49):
I love it.
Speaker 5 (21:49):
What's the name of your your polo horse?
Speaker 12 (21:52):
Naranha, which is orange and Spanish and she looks very
very orange.
Speaker 5 (21:57):
Very interesting.
Speaker 1 (21:58):
By the way, I don't want to start a controversy,
but I talked to some horses during this week and
none of them believe in global warming, So.
Speaker 5 (22:08):
I don't know how you feel about that.
Speaker 1 (22:09):
Yeah, all right, the great story of the cavalry coming
use the use of mules and horses to deliver much
needed resources to those suffering after Hurricane Helena, especially in
the mountains of Western Carolina.
Speaker 5 (22:22):
You have a great weekend, Aaron ray Al. We will
talk next week.
Speaker 4 (22:25):
You too.
Speaker 7 (22:26):
Good run YouTube.
Speaker 1 (22:28):
Well, if you're just waking up, you have about twenty
minutes to be to work forty minutes after the hour,
and here your top five stories of the day. Wow,
we were just moments ago told the world as you know,
it is about to end. Wronged longshoremen, porch workers taken
(22:50):
advantage of by the rich, are striking so much.
Speaker 5 (22:55):
There will be no Christmas, there will be no electronics. Mean, well,
I got a spare bedroom full of toilet paper and
the whole thing is over already.
Speaker 1 (23:05):
Sounds political to me. Mark Mayfield has this story.
Speaker 8 (23:07):
Sources to say that members of the International Longshoreman's Association
and management groups have reached a tentative deal in wages
The dock workers will be back on the job at
ports on Friday. According to the reports. The two sides
are agreeing to extend the expired contract until January fifteenth.
Fifty thousand union members working from Maine to Texas walked
off the job early Tuesday morning. The strike had led
(23:28):
to uncertainty about the movement of supplies as the nation
heads into the holiday season.
Speaker 4 (23:32):
I'm Mark Mayfield.
Speaker 1 (23:33):
I don't want to have a talk show breakout in
the middle of just informing, but you know, this whole
thing didn't play.
Speaker 5 (23:40):
Out very well. These individuals are paid well above the
national average already. By the way, nobody begrudges that it's
hard work, it's long work, and it's dangerous work. The
real rub is being replaced by technology, which is just
something you can never fight.
Speaker 1 (24:01):
That's one part of it. It's spokesperson and shady ties
and really foul rhetoric wasn't playing well, and the notion
at this carried on and created any kind of economic pain.
How that would backfire on Kamala Harris. Now, Joe wasn't
going to bail her out with Taft Hartley, either because
he's Union Joe and so on, or because they took
(24:25):
his presidency away, So it looks like party officials got
with union officials and kicked the can to the new year.
Something's fishy at our ports, and it stinks of politics.
Hurricane Helene is now the deadliest storm to hit the
mainland in the US and s Katrina Lisa Taylor has
the latest from Raleigh.
Speaker 9 (24:42):
Officials say at least two hundred and two people have
died due to the storm that slammed the southeast a
week ago, and sixty one people have died in bunkhom
County alone in North Carolina, where Sam Brock reports there.
Speaker 3 (24:52):
Are still dozens of towns that are not accessible except
by plane or either mule in some cases supplies being
taken up that way. And then the infrastructure head is enormous.
This is one micro example, a huge crater in the
road here.
Speaker 5 (25:05):
It's lining up and.
Speaker 3 (25:06):
Down this main highway Highway seventy as residents don't know
if it's going to be weeks or months before they
have running water again.
Speaker 9 (25:12):
The death toll will likely continue to go up as
hundreds remain missing. Ami se Taylor, you heard.
Speaker 1 (25:17):
The Extraordinary Meals story from Aaron Reale just moments ago.
Donald Trump making his final pitch. Believe it or not,
we are just a few days over four weeks away
from the election. Where does Donald Trump find himself in
a battleground state? Brian Shook has our Road to the
White House.
Speaker 10 (25:32):
Road to the White House twenty twenty four. Former President
Trump is busy focusing on battleground states. With a little
over a month to go before election day.
Speaker 3 (25:41):
Thirty three days from now, we are going to win
the state of Michigan. We are going to defeat lion
Kamala Harris, one of the worst candidates.
Speaker 10 (25:55):
Speaking at a rally Thursday in Saginaw, Michigan, the GOP
Presidential Canada reminded supporters that mail in voting has begun
in several states. Trump urged supporters to vote, saying the
results will have to be too big to rig. He
also criticized the Biden Harris administration for open borders in Washington.
(26:16):
I'm Brian Shook.
Speaker 1 (26:17):
Well, trust in China online, especially with our children, makes
about as much sense as being dependent on oil from
enemies in the Middle East. But a lot of politicians
talk a good game, but they don't do much. In Texas,
they're suing TikTok for how they're handling children's data. Tammy
Trihuilo has the details.
Speaker 13 (26:34):
On Thursday, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed a lawsuit
saying TikTok violated the state's parental consent laws.
Speaker 5 (26:42):
He claims TikTok failed.
Speaker 13 (26:43):
To comply with Texas Scope Act, which requires social media
companies to take steps to protect kids online and prohibits
them from selling any child's personal data without parental permission.
The lawsuit seeks civil penalties of up to ten thousand
dollars per violation. I'm Tammy TRHEO.
Speaker 1 (26:59):
Look, there are great players, there are Hall of Fame players,
and then there are just some that are bigger than
the game. Bay Bruth, Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan, Caitlin Clark,
She's the WNBA Rookie of the Year, and Brian Shook
is back with that story.
Speaker 10 (27:16):
The league made the announcement on Thursday. In her first
year with the Indiana Fever, Clark set the single season
assist record while also setting the single season rookie scoring record.
Clark also led the Fever to their first playoff appearance
since twenty sixteen. The Fever were eliminated by the Connecticut
Sun in the first round. I'm Brian Schook.
Speaker 1 (27:38):
Tampa out scored Atlanta and the loss to the Falcons
in overtime thirty six to thirty.
Speaker 5 (27:42):
Last night.
Speaker 1 (27:43):
We've got college football tonight the ces UNLV Michigan State
and sixth ranked Oregon Baseball. The playoff Divisional round is
set in Major League Baseball, and we say goodbye to
one of our city's teams, the Brewers, knocked off by
the Mets four to two last night. It'll be the
Mets versus the Phillies, Padres versus the Dodger Royals versus
the Yankees, Tigers versus the Guardians. Playoff action begins tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (28:07):
Good morning, guys, This is jeff a pleasant you Tennessee,
and my morning show is your Morning Show with Michael Dale.
Speaker 1 (28:14):
Jno. I really wanted to name my son, Nicholas Joey,
after my best friend, but because I had a bulldog
named Joey, my wife wouldn't let me. Then I wanted
to do Rocko rock O'Dell Jorno. He would be destined
to be a baseball mina.
Speaker 5 (28:28):
Goodness. Yeah, I mean we haven't been one of the
great baseball names. Yeah, this is a great baseball name.
Next up the catcher, Jason Campaedonia bat in two sixty
seven with thirteen RBIs and two home runs. Good morning, Jason,
that is a great bait. Did you play baseball?
Speaker 4 (28:43):
I no, but I currently coach my son's little league team.
Speaker 5 (28:46):
Is that it works? The best name is the coach.
Speaker 1 (28:49):
It's hard to believe, Jason, that it's been a week
since Helene crashed into the coast of Florida, and you
know the extraordinary stories of using mules and so on.
Where do we stand? This is going to be It's
the death tolls up to two hundred and sixteen now
and with so many still missing, that's destined to rise.
A lot of people are responding to we've got billions
(29:10):
for Ukraine, only seven hundred and fifty for those hurting.
Speaker 5 (29:14):
Where does all this stand one week later?
Speaker 4 (29:18):
It's not in a good place. The people who live there,
especially in the Apple Ash Mountains, can't get any relief.
They are in desperate need of fresh water and food.
But you can't get a big rig up in the
Apple Ash Mountains, and so they're using four wheelers, like
you mentioned, mountain mules or donkeys to get some of
(29:42):
the relief up there, but that takes time. That takes
a lot of time, So these people are having a
hold on. We do know of one story. NASCAR driver
Greg Biffle is using his personal helicopter to help drop
off cases of water and food and things like that
to people they need in the Apple Mountains. One thing
that we expect by Monday is the depth told to
(30:06):
rise significantly. Just as the water dissipates, search and rescue
crews can can get in there and get into some
of the more rural areas to find to find out
if people are still hanging on or not. Another thing
that is affecting the area right now is when the
water saturated the ground, that's where yellow jackets live. So
(30:29):
now they've got swarms of yellow jackets affecting the area.
So as you drive through and try to help people,
or you're clearing mud out of your living room, now
you've got to deal with a swarm of yellow jackets.
Speaker 5 (30:42):
Poses insulting.
Speaker 4 (30:46):
And it poses medical issues for people who are allergic
and you know, do they have the medication and if
they were to get stung, how do they get to
the hospital that is overrun with people who have been hurt.
So it's just another another hit for the people who
live in that area.
Speaker 1 (31:03):
I don't know where the Kanye West of the world
and George Bush hates black people. That was during Katrina.
But the social media has been very hard on this administration,
in particular me Yorkis warrens FEMA lacks the funds for
the hurricane cleanup. This is an agency that has spent
billion a billion on illegal immigrants, billions on war and
(31:26):
and now they're, you know, the government saying they don't
have money to help. I think this could get political,
but right now, this is human life. This is real drama,
I think, Jason. One of the things is, you know,
I'm very familiar with Katrina. Most of the Katrina tragedy
and the Katrina deaths and suffering and government failures were
days after the hurricane. That is true for Helene as well.
Speaker 4 (31:51):
Oh absolutely. And you know they're still rebuilding some of
those parishes outside of New Orleans and not they're still
rebuilding it. Yeah, and so you know there's going to
be parts of the Appalashia rule communities that are just there.
They'll be gone forever.
Speaker 1 (32:07):
How high do we think this Debtthul could get there's
still what about you get varying numbers on those unaccounted for. Well,
I mean, once we've got communication restored that helped us
move that number, then recovery is what solidifies that number.
But how high do people think this could get?
Speaker 4 (32:27):
So officials they are saying that they're still hundreds unaccounted for.
So as like you said, communication is restored in the area,
we're able to get through and cell phones and whatever.
One tip that I saw was really interesting. If you
find yourself in a little bit of trouble, change your
outgoing voicemail message to give a location. If you're ever
(32:52):
in some sort of emergencies.
Speaker 5 (32:54):
It's a great idea.
Speaker 4 (32:55):
This way people can if they do call you, they
can get your information on your outgoing cell phone message.
And yeah, we could have hundreds. And you know, here's
the real tragedy is if you're in your home and
you've survived the actual storm, but now you're literally starving
(33:15):
to death and rescue crews can't get to you because
of you know, floodwaters are still too dangerous or too
high in your area, or the mud is just too
thick and they can't get vehicles up into your area.
That's going to be the real tragedy there I have.
Speaker 1 (33:31):
I have worked very hard to avoid the political angles
and certainly the media angles.
Speaker 5 (33:37):
The media seems to.
Speaker 4 (33:38):
Have just moved on.
Speaker 5 (33:40):
It's not a story anymore.
Speaker 1 (33:41):
It's run its course, or it's maybe doesn't put their
agenda in a good light. I don't know what it is,
but there are fellow Americans suffering, and you know, just
the notion of these mules going up the mountains with supplies.
There's some there's some really amazing stuff happening on the ground,
and there's some really horrific stuff happening on the ground.
Now one week later, Jason, great to meet you, and
(34:04):
it is a great baseball name. I don't know how
it's working out for coaching, but I appreciate you putting
Helen one week later into perspective for us.
Speaker 5 (34:10):
You have a great weekend, sir, Thanks so much for
your time. You got it. We're all in this together.
This is your morning show with Michael nhel Joano
