This is your Morning show with Michael Barrel, Trum.
Speaker 1 (00:38):
Rice and Shine and Welcome to Monday, October seventh Year
of Our Lord, twenty twenty four on the Aaron, streaming
live on your iHeartRadio app. This is your Morning Show.
Hurricane Milton, the Hellene sequel, gaining strength in the warm
waters of the Gulf of Mexico and aimed at Tampa, Florida.
President Biden sending another five hundred active duty troops to
(00:59):
assist in western North Carolina, and former President Donald Trump
and Vice President Harris set to speak today on the
one year anniversary of the Hamas terrorist attacks in Israel
and a rocket attack and from Lebanon leaving destruction in
the Israeli port city of Haifa. And if you fell
asleep last night, it was the Cowboys with twenty seconds
(01:19):
are mating getting the win in Pittsburgh over the Steelers
twenty to seventeen. Tonight Monday Night football Saints in Kansas
City to take on the world champion Kansas City Chiefs.
And that's just some of the things that we're kicking around. Obviously,
all attention is going to be on two things today,
the one year anniversary of the Hamas invasion. I'm going
(01:40):
to share with you the interesting eye dilemma for the
Democrats Republicans united behind Israel Democrats. Depends who you're talking to.
And we talked starting my goodness, almost a year ago
about the eye prop for the Democrats because of their party.
(02:04):
Let's never mind Republican versus Democrat, left versus right, all
that stuff, just the movement within the Democrat party, the
shift that is taken. Now, Bernie Sanders would have got
the nomination twice had things go on their way the
first time with Hillary they used super delegates and other shenanigans,
(02:26):
if you will, with the party to block it. Second
time with Joe Biden, he'd have gotten it again. Bernie
would have been the nominee, a socialist nominee for the party,
but they cut a deal with oh Joe weaponized COVID,
hit him in a basement, and Joe Biden, who was
fourth and Iowa seventh in New Hampshire, went on to
get the nomination. This time around. There was no Bernie Sanders,
(02:53):
and there wasn't to be anybody but the President Joe Biden.
We all know that bait and switch. So this is
a part of this been shifting further and further left
and taking America with it to the left, and in
particular the squad and the Muslim base in Congress, the
(03:14):
big problem they have in Michigan right now. I couldn't
start to showing the other way. It is the one
year anniversary. Think of how much we've changed since nineteen
seventy nine, since amass invaded Israel, raped, beheaded, killed, over commitioned.
(03:34):
If somebody invaded American killed a thousand Americans, you saw
what happened after nine to eleven. Never mind Can you
imagine if somebody launched if Iran launched one hundred and
eighty one missiles at the United States, what would happen?
Speaker 3 (03:50):
Now?
Speaker 1 (03:50):
In nineteen seventy nine, after Jimmy Carter's meddling that created
the Islamic Republic, we had hostages and we focused on
those hostias just every day and every night until they
were released. And unfortunately for the Democrats, they weren't released
until Ronald Reagan took the oath of office. Now we
(04:13):
have American hostages, Israeli hostages after Hamas invasion. It's the
one year anniversary, and what's the messaging from the Democrats.
I don't know what Kamala is going to do on
a tightrope today, But on the anniversary of October seventh
attack on Israel, Senator Mark Kelly, who many thought was
(04:37):
going to be Kamala's VP choice him Shapiro or who
she chose Walls is urging Arab American voters to cast
a ballot for Kamala Harris. Think about this. He's appearing
on CNN State of the Union this weekend and the
Arizona Democrat insists only Kamala Harris will end the war.
(04:59):
In Gaza. So now it's a Gaza problem caused by
Israel in his words, that has killed tens of thousands
of Palestinians, and they should vote for Kamala Harris. On
this one year anniversary, he's reminding them, I'm thinking of
(05:20):
his wife, and I'm trying to be mature about it.
But can you imagine when his wife got shot Gabby,
if he was encouraging jurors to support the shooter's family
and the shooter. I don't even know where this comes from.
(05:45):
Oh you think I'm using hyperbole On the one year anniversary,
here's Mark Kelly talking to Palestinians in America.
Speaker 4 (05:58):
I know the vice president is to solving this and
getting this done and getting some amount.
Speaker 1 (06:03):
Of peace in the Middle East.
Speaker 4 (06:05):
And when she's sworn in on January twentieth, I know
this is going to be one of her top priorities.
Speaker 1 (06:10):
Okay, now does he mean you know you she'll let
in the war and that'll stop the suffering on both ends.
And maybe he's looking a little bit too much at
one end. No, he made a crystal clear only Harris
is taking the concerns of Arab and Muslim voters to heart.
Speaker 4 (06:25):
She met with them many in the Muslim and the
Arab community here earlier in the week to talk about
the issues that they care about, and certainly peace in
the Middle East is at the top of the list.
Speaker 1 (06:43):
Senator Kelly's comments come after the American citizens, A citizen
from Dearborn, Michigan was killed. By the way, These were
Iranian missiles fired at Israel, shot down by Israeli defense
systems and landed on a Palestinian in the Palestinian territory.
(07:11):
Can you imagine the one year anniversary of nine to
eleven and somebody speaking out on behalf of any oh
I don't know al Qaeda members here in America. It
was breathtaking to me. Meanwhile, the Republicans standing in solidarity. Now,
we'll do a lot more of this in our sounds
(07:33):
of the day, but this is vis Kabla Harrison faced
the nation. Listen. It seems like Prime Minister Netanyah who
is not listening well built.
Speaker 5 (07:54):
The work that we have done has resulted in a
number of movements in that region by Israel that were
very much prompted by or a result of many things,
including our advocacy for what needs to happen in the regions.
Speaker 1 (08:14):
Okay, first of all, I can't think of I can't
even understand what she's saying. I'm not certain she said
anything in twenty six seconds. It certainly wasn't unwavering, you know,
support for Israel. It's some kind of coded message that
I guess in hopes that if you're a Democrat who's
(08:37):
Jewish and supports Israel, you can't figure out what she's saying.
If you're some kind of a Muslim American, especially in Michigan,
a swing state, she's trying to stop the war on
behalf of them and not support Israel. If you're wondering
what it sounds like to speak the truth, I mean,
(08:58):
to a be a leader that understands the fighting and
why it's taking place and where your support lies. I mean,
bib Danyelle didn't bring up Kamala Harris by name or
Joe Biden by name, but he should have.
Speaker 6 (09:15):
I have a message. I have a message for President Macron. Today.
Israel is defending itself on seven fronts against the enemies
of civilization. We're fighting in Gaza against Ramas, those savages
who murdered, rape, beheaded and burned out people on October seventh.
We're fighting in Lebanon against Isbella, the most heavily armed
(09:38):
terror organization in the world, which was planning an even
greater massacre than October seventh on our northern border, and
that is rocketed Israeli towns and cities for nearly a year.
We're fighting against the Jutis in Yemen, and that she
had militias in Iraq and Syria that together have launched
hundreds of drones and missile attacks against Israel. We're fighting
(10:00):
against terraces and Judean Samaria or try to murder civilians
in the heart of our cities. And we're fighting against Iran,
which last week fired over two hundred ballistic missiles directly
at Israel, and which stands behind the Seven Front war
against Israel. As Israel fights the forces of barbarism led
by Iran, all civilized countries should be standing firmly by
(10:22):
Israel's side. Yet President Macron and some other Western leaders.
Speaker 1 (10:27):
That would be Harris and Biden, by the way.
Speaker 6 (10:29):
Are now calling for an arms embargo against Israel. Shame
on them. Is Iran imposing an arms embargo on Hizbala,
on the Jutis, on Ramas and on its other proxies.
Of course, not the axis of terror stands together, but
countries who supposedly opposes their axis called for an arms
(10:51):
embargo on Israel. What a disgrace. Well, let me tell
you this. Israel will win with or without their support.
Speaker 1 (11:00):
Amen, all right. You can tell who's got a leader
and who doesn't. You can tell who can state the
facts of a war and who can't. We used to
do this with Barack Obama. Is this leading from behind,
you know, the kind of weakness that emboldens aggressors and
creates wars and attacks, or is this standing with enemies?
(11:28):
It shouldn't be hard for America, for anybody to realize
this is a threat to the world. The ambitions of
these terrorists is not just its first and foremost the
destruction of Israel. I got some polling here in America
where Muslims stand on that their long term goal is
(11:51):
first Israel, then America and the world. That's why Adolf
Hitler became a world's problem. When the ambition is the world,
you must address it. Israel stands alone, Well that was prophesy.
(12:22):
Maybe it's becoming a reality. But it's also maybe just
the eye problem for Democrats, especially with a weak candidate
struggling to win a swing state in Michigan with a
high Muslim population. But it is disgraceful from the standpoint
of what has happened to Israel that you're making them
(12:45):
the bully. And it is ultimately disgraceful when you're do
in the United States and you still haven't gotten your
hostages back. This is your morning show with Michael Bill.
By the way, we can't have your morning show without
your voice. Make your voice, sir, called toll free eight
(13:06):
hundred six eight eight ninety five twenty two one eight
hundred six eight eight ninety five twenty two. You can
always email me the old fashioned way Michael D at
iHeartMedia dot com. And then of course we got the
talkback button on the iHeartRadio app. Give me a trucker.
I want to know what the truckers are seeing in America.
Speaker 2 (13:23):
Hi, guys, this is JR. I'm a truck driver travel nationwide,
go through Pennsylvania every single week. And what I see
our huge Trump billboards, oh all over the state of Pennsylvania. Barns, haystacks,
yard signs, you name it. I think Trump has got
(13:47):
Pennsylvania wrapped up. Whether they want to admit.
Speaker 3 (13:50):
It or not.
Speaker 1 (13:52):
You know, it's interesting. I was reading a story there's
a New York company that unveiled a one hundred foot
vote for Trump sign and the town mayor is suing them. Betty.
Remember the old days where you could call elections based
on yard signs. Well, yeah, yard signs are like a
true right.
Speaker 6 (14:08):
You know.
Speaker 1 (14:08):
I iced to drive around and so like when everybody
was looking at poles and everything. That was my big stick.
I would make my predictions based on yard signs. And
the joke of it was they were pretty accurate a
lot of people. You know, it's the one thing on
everybody's mind and has been for a year, you know,
whether we talk about it or not, that's what everybody's
(14:28):
thinking about who's going to win this election? And I
guess if you're to some degree scared on the left,
it's the same question you're asking. And if we're honest,
the matrix works two ways. The right's scared we're not
really going to elect her. Well guess what they're over
there saying we're not really going to elect him again?
Are we all narrative based and not fact based? When
(14:50):
you look at the polls, it would suggest I cannot
tell you, and I don't know that anybody can. I
play with that two seventy to win map all the time,
and you know, the reality is, if Pennsylvania or Michigan
or Wisconsin, one of those three go to Trump, in
(15:12):
all reality, he would probably win. These races are so close,
In fact, the latest polls suggest way too close to
call if you go by the numbers. Now, things that
haven't changed are things like disapproval ratings heading in the
wrong direction, all the things that would traditionally tell you
(15:35):
the incumbent in office is about to get fired. Remember,
at its simplest form, that's what we're doing. That's why
Ronald Reagan so brilliantly framed the question. Look, if your
life is better than it was four years ago, by
all means, reelect Jimmy Carter. But if it's not, and
(15:55):
at that time, long gas lines, interest rates, recession, not
just inflation, he kind of knew the answer, just like
all Americans kind of know the answer. If they could
take the personality and the identity and the threat politics
out of everything, it'd be pretty much a no brainer.
(16:18):
In fact, they answered honestly, when you say, are we
going in the wrong direction, yeah, by forty percent, they
believe we're going in the wrong direction. To show you,
the latest polling Thursday was the latest from Michigan, and
it's a Harris down by one, Trump up by one
in Michigan. That may be why the senator from Arizona
(16:39):
felt such a need to speak to Muslim black Americans.
Maybe why they're going to the bullpen and bringing Barack
Obama out out of the campaign. Traip and Ohio, Trump's
lead is fifty one to forty four. Ohio secure New Hampshire.
By the way, Harris's lead is now up to seven
fifty one to forty four. No one was expecting that
there is a poll in Arizona that shows Harris leading
(17:01):
by two. That would be very problematic. North Carolina Trump
is dead tied. I don't have to tell you. Trump
absolutely has to have North Carolina has to worry. There
is no path without Georgia. In North Carolina. Quite frankly, Arizona,
Nevada don't matter. Without North Carolina and Georgia, You're not
(17:26):
even in the game to be trying to get Pennsylvania,
Michigan in Wisconsin. But here's the point. All of them
are like within the margin of air, with the exception
of New Hampshire in North Dakota, where Trump leads by
twenty seven The question is does Donald Trump under pole?
And the answer is, we know he does. I don't
(17:47):
answer poling questions. It's all universities and all networks that
I know are frauds. Might as well be a call
from the Democratic National Convent Committee, I mean. And so
the real strong Trump supporters don't trust, don't answer, don't talk,
and so we just don't have a handle on it.
(18:08):
In some places he underpolls by as much as five
percent and others two percent. So if you're sitting at
the table with me, and like my wife does every
single day and asks the same question over and over
again to get the same answer over and over again,
because she's just wanting comfort, not the answer, no one
can tell you, And I don't even know how to
(18:30):
tell you who it's leaning towards. Sometimes I do it
and I think, well, it looks pretty rough for Trump,
And other times I'll do it. I'll go well, at
this moment, looks pretty rough for Kamalin. But the question
is the polling and how accurate it is, and the
tradition of Donald Trump's supporter is not responding to polls,
and how that swings very close elections, and we don't
have to look very far backwards to see how it
plays out. In twenty sixteen, Donald Trump took three states
(18:54):
by like fifty thousand votes combined, and then in lost
those three states by fifty thousand votes combined. It's not
that I think that there's going to be cheating in Shenanigan.
So there might be. I mean, just this weekend you
had Elon Musk jumping around on stage encouraging everybody to
(19:16):
register to vote, and they shut down registration in the
state of Pennsylvania. So I mean, there might be some
games that are played. I don't know, but that isn't
what's really driving. What's driving it is America is that
closely divided, and one side doesn't like to talk to pollsters.
So to our trucker boy, I get it. Seen a
lot of Trump signs, and for those that are rooting
(19:38):
for Donald Trump, they're hoping that's a good sign. It
was a bad weekend for favorites. I do not like gambling.
I think it's ruining sports, It's ruining American families. So
I'm not even talking about betting in sports. I'm talking
about Vanderbilt beating Alabama and then carrying the goalpost all
the way to the Cumberland River. Where are that come
(19:59):
that all somewhere? What turned on in like middle of
the second quarter? And I'm like, okay, I watched the
whole game. Do you know the honest truth? Yeah, they
beat him from from start to finish. It was not
a fluke. No, I'm watching Vanderbero. I'm going, where did
they get all these athletes? Right? Who are these specimens
running around anchored down forty to thirty five over Bama?
(20:20):
Go post? And let me tell you something, From the
west end of Nashville to the Cumberland River with a
gold post on your shoulder is a long way. That's
what that was Almost more impressive than beating Alabama. Is
that three miles? Maybe?
Speaker 3 (20:33):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (20:33):
But you know the hills down there. I walked down
there and I start going and I'm like, what's going on?
Is the hills right?
Speaker 3 (20:38):
Well?
Speaker 1 (20:38):
Kill you we're a little older? Well yeah, yeah, the
gold post on your shoulder and then they just shit
the Cumberland. By the way, do you notice the police
blocking the streets as they were coming by? Oh yeah,
hey beautiful. So what do we make of that Alabama
and Georgia playing. You're like, oh, man, that's the two
best teams in the country and Bama must be the best,
right and then Vandy knocks him off. And then then
(20:59):
you're thinking, you're well, how low you going to drop
Alabama because you're gonna have to pass Georgia And they
just beat Georgia a week ago, and they did. They
dropped Bama to seven and Georgia's fifth. Then Arkansas beats
our Tennessee Valls nineteen fourteen. Now I watch that whole game,
and the Walls just never showed up. They deserve to lose.
I think they spent a lot of energy from last
(21:20):
weekend in what Oklahoma, Well, that could have been some
of it. Yah that the coaches Alma Monter just didn't
have anything left. The Huskies twenty seven seventeen over the Wolverines.
Michigan has fallen almost out of the top twenty five.
They're twenty four, and Miami, Georgia Penn State. They avoided
near upset. So here's your new top five, Texas arch
(21:43):
Manning no moral, uh No, Ohio State number two, Oregon
number three. Guess who plays Saturday. Ohio State and Oregon. Well,
all right, Penn State is fourth and Georgia is now fifth.
I for the moment, I'm going to say Texas or
Ohio State's the best, but I'm sure I'll be disproven
by the weekend. Commanders, these are cities if you have
(22:06):
morning show interest. And we had two facing off, Cleveland
and Washington, DC. Commander's easy twenty four to thirteen over
the Browns. Washington now four and one with a real quarterback,
Browns one and four with Garbage at quarterback. The Arizona
Cardinals huge upset in San Francisco twenty four to twenty three.
Both now two and three. In the West. Seahawks lose
at home twenty nine to twenty to the Giant. Seahawks
(22:27):
fall to three and two. The pack huge road win
at so Far twenty four to nineteen over the Rams.
Packers now three and two. That division is the bomb.
I mean, you got the Bears, you got the Packers,
you got the fight Kings. They're loaded.
Speaker 3 (22:42):
Well.
Speaker 1 (22:42):
The Tampa Bay Division New Orleans Tampa Bay Atlanta. I'd
say the Carolina Panthers, but it depends who's playing quarterback. Cowboys.
If you fell asleep, they didn't. They won with twenty
seconds remaining, twenty to seventeen. That's a big win on
the road over the Steelers. And then tonight Monday Night
Football is the Saints and the Kansas City Chiefs. Major
League Baseball playoffs. Guardians are up one game to nothing.
(23:06):
They have the Tigers today at three o'clock on TBS.
Yankees are up one game to nothing over the Royals.
Game two, six thirty eight from Yankee Stadium on TBS,
little doubleheader late afternoon and evening. And the Phillies won
seven to six over the Mets. They almost went down
two games to nothing and lost the first two at
home to the Mets. Miracle Mets, Mets and the Royals
to me look like the two dangerous ones. And then
(23:27):
the Padres, who's our fan that always calls from San
Diego and rips me because I technically we're not on
a San Diego right, so they don't make the criteria
of cities of your morning show interest. He likes the
little Padre Loo. He likes his Podres mentioned well, how
about a ten to two win in La over the Dodgers
series tied at one one Mary Heart with five bathroom breaks.
(23:47):
The old choose to sit next to out of King
right behind home.
Speaker 3 (23:51):
Late.
Speaker 1 (23:54):
Hi, my name is Bern Aaron and my morning show
is Your Morning Show with Michael gil Jorno. Sounds of
the day coming up in about thirteen minutes on Your
Morning Show. A rocket attack from Lebanon leaving destruction in
the Israeli port city of Haifa. Both former President Donald
Trump and Vice President and candidate Kamala Harris are set
(24:16):
to speak today. It's the one year anniversary of the
Hamas terror attacks in israel I. Wonder what the messages
will be. You never know with the Left and President
Biden is sending another five hundred active duty troops to
assist in western North Carolina from Hurricane Helene recovery. And
then with no time to brace, here comes the sequel,
(24:36):
Hurricane Milton. And if you're just waking up, Hurricane Milton
is gaining strength in the warm golf waters and the
trajectory is once again Florida. The storm which formed in
the golf of Mexico on Saturday rapidly strengthening, expected to
be a Cat three when it makes landfall just outside
of Tampa. Right now, top winds are estimated at ninety
(24:57):
miles per hour. Forecasters expect their hurricane, which comes less
than two weeks after Hurricane Helen made landfall in the state,
to arrive by Wednesday afternoon. The latest update puts the
storm about seven hundred and fifty miles southwest of Tampa. Meanwhile,
Florida Governor Rondez Santis has declared a state of the
emergency already in place for dozens of counties. FEMA is
(25:21):
surging supplies and equipment into the state as they're being
criticized for their lack of resources and effective abilities in
North Carolina. So everybody's kind of critiquing the failures of
North Carolina, and here comes another storm. Now we will
say this for Milton. Milton's trajectory is to hit mainly easterly,
(25:46):
just a slight northeasterly, but mainly straight east, right across Tampa,
and then boom right out the other end. So it
doesn't look like it's going to go inland and cause
problems for Georgia or North Carolina like Helen did, but
is headed for Tampa. Well, that brings up insurance. So
for those that are just now reeling from the Hurricane Helene,
(26:07):
and here comes Milton, there's a third hurricane to worry about.
Insurance claim shock. Aaron Rayale has that story.
Speaker 3 (26:14):
Good morning, Aaron, Good morning Michael.
Speaker 5 (26:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (26:17):
I mean, if they didn't have enough to deal with
they just got hit with Aleen. Now they're we have
Milton looking them in the eye and frankly, no flood insurance.
If you look at the data, Allen was the latest
storm to expose this huge gap between flood risk and
flood coverage. There's like one federal FEMA program that provides
most of the flood insurance because no private insurance company
(26:39):
will touch it. But the fact of the matter is,
even in Florida, where there is more flood insurance full
than any other state, ninety five percent of the homes
that were in Allen's path didn't have those policies. This
is why, in spite of the fact that Aleen is
one of the deadliest and most destructive hurricanes in the
US in recent years, the property like the insured laws
(27:01):
payout is going to be far lower than initially forecast
because they think the range will be between like five
and fifteen million, but so much of the damage with
flood insurance and they don't have to cover that.
Speaker 1 (27:12):
M Yeah. Is that primarily for the Florida portion of this.
Speaker 3 (27:19):
Yes, but it's all over the country. I think that
that's a big part of the story too. It's also
that would.
Speaker 1 (27:26):
Think like in Caroline, if you weren't a flood plane,
you wouldn't have been required to have flood insurance. So
this would be an act of God. So it's got
to be more for because it was the western portion
of North Carolina, not the coastal portion. So I mean,
but I don't know you're the one studying.
Speaker 3 (27:42):
No. No, I love that you bring that up, Like,
how are you going to argue it? Is this the
act of God? Can we trigger that clause in every
insurance policy? Well you could, but there's going to be
a lot of insurance policies or ensures that either limit
payment or they flat out like to reject any sort
of big payouts. So then it's up to the policy
hole to determine and make the decision. Frankly, you sue,
(28:04):
what are you going to do? Like if you can't
rebuild your home? And they've said no, we're not no, no, no, no,
Like these are arguments that can be made either way.
And this is what's so murky about insurance. In the
world in which we live in today, it's harder to say, like, no,
categorically this is or isn't whatever you're claiming it to be.
Speaker 5 (28:22):
You know.
Speaker 1 (28:24):
Yeah, we lived a lot of this with Katrina. There
were certain companies that were better than others, and that
was a hard way to find out. There were other
problems too. There were people that were spending their FEMA
money in casinos that could be happening in North Carolina.
The other problem was people taking their insurance money and
then not rebuilding, and so neighborhoods were left dilapidated and
(28:47):
people just pocketed their money. But by and large, what
the story is, you have insurance for the things that
could happen you can't afford, and then one inevitably you
can't afford the premiums, so that's even worse. And then
they don't they don't come through with coverage. A lot
of hurting head a lot of hurting, and a lot
of sortin. It's going to be frustrating, all right, Oh,
(29:11):
go ahead, sorry, no, you got a minute.
Speaker 3 (29:14):
No, I was just going to say, yes, this isn't
going away anytime soon. And the federal government of FEMA
program that covers insurance, it's like it's s body to
say the least. So even if you are walky enough
to have that, even if you fall under it, they
like occasionally don't like extend coverage. They usually do, but
it takes a minute. It's just this is I don't
know how we're going to contend with this, Michael, because
(29:35):
we're now hearing this term all the time from brokers
like oh, your self insure and you're like, no, no, no,
that's not a thing. It means you don't have insurance.
If something goes away, you have to pay for it.
And we're getting hit by these more and more often.
This is there's nowhere that's safe. You know, people move
to the western mountains of North Carolina because there wasn't
(29:59):
generally the the temperature was like mild and it was
pretty good climate and you didn't have a lot of catastrophe.
And then they make it the same argument for Vermont,
and Vermont had catastrophic flooding two summers ago, and all this.
Speaker 1 (30:11):
As Milton gets ready to arrive. We're all in this together.
This is Your Morning Show with Michael Ntel Chowano
