We'd love to be a part of your morning routine.
Now enjoy the podcast.
Speaker 3 (00:22):
Well two three starting your morning off right. A new
way of talk, a new way of understanding because we're
in this together. This is your morning show with Michael
O'Dell Jordan.
Speaker 1 (00:39):
Now, I know how Army felt ready for the big game,
and Red's clearly not feeling well. Yeah, that was a
very unconvincing thumbs up. I mean you got you got
Tom Cruise in top gun. Yeah, you know with the
thumbs up, right, he's ready for a Mission's working with
a trash can beside the desk. This morehead. You feeling better? Oh,
(01:03):
I'm ready to go to battle.
Speaker 4 (01:04):
I'm okay.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
Seven minutes after the hour. Thanks for waking up with
your morning show on the air and streaming live on
your iHeartRadio app. I am Michael del jornal, and welcome
to Monday, December the sixteenth. Where did this year go?
Remember we usually go where'd this week go? Right? Where'd
this show? Where'd this year go? We are already noticed
in doing show prep that NBC is starting to put
out all its year interview type pieces. Oh, this will
(01:29):
be a doozy. Well I did today. I thought we'd
feature one a week maybe, Okay, but the year interview
today is on politics? How would you in sixty seconds
do this year in review? Craz Good luck with that one.
The mother of Luigi Manngion reportedly talked to the Feds
just hours before her son was taken into custody. President
(01:51):
Biden is reflecting on his last four years in the
White House. Jamie Fox got in a fight, I guess
an altercation of some kind while solebraating his birthday. He
says he's too blessed to be stressed. He got a
glass to them. That means he won the fight or not.
I made a reference to Army. Navy. Army went into
(02:13):
that game. Was it eleven and one or twelve? Yeah?
Eleven and one. It was just a foregone conclusion. Okay,
this is the greatest season in Army history. Yeah, in
the back of your mind, you're thinking, well, this is
why we have rivalries. You know, Army Navy. Throw the
records out. That's why it was only I think, not
that I do any of this, but just for the
purposes of Army should have on paper been at least
(02:35):
a twelve to fourteen point favorite over Navy, right, and
it was only like five. You know that's taking into account.
You know, you put these guys in a stadium with
all the cadets, all the midshipmen, all the color, the pageantry,
the tradition, the joint Jesus staff, you know, it kind
of evens out. But I don't think you know. I
looked at my son before the game and I said, well,
we got something to watch here at eight and three
(02:57):
Navy and eleven and one Army. You know, it's normally
not the greatest game in the world. You just watch
it because it's the only one. No, we got something
to watch. But so my wife goes, well, who do
you think is gonna win? I said, oh, Army's gonna win.
We're gonna mop the floor with them. And there's an
old expression in sports, that's.
Speaker 5 (03:13):
Why you play the game.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
Like it was the Midway go figure, it was the
eight and three Midshipman thirty one to thirteen over the Cadets.
We had a Heisman Trophy winner over the weekend. I
don't know how I feel about this one. I didn't
watch a lot of Colorado football. Well really, I mean,
any of the seasons. Love to see those boys play. Well.
(03:43):
I mean, Dion's gonna be a great coach for the
Dallas Cowboys. It's inevitable. It may even happen next year
he gets a Heisman Trophy winner. And Hunter who went
both ways? I haven't seen that since I was in
high school. Of course, we didn't have a choice. We
only had twelve guys on a team. Like you had
to go both ways.
Speaker 5 (03:57):
I did.
Speaker 1 (03:58):
I didn't even know then. I can just play offense.
There are places you go you just play offense or defense.
Here we play offense defense special water boy, Yeah, get
your own water. Hey, we didn't. We didn't have I
think I was the only one on the bench my
freshman year. Uh when we went to the state playoffs.
(04:20):
I think it was just me. I went out for
freshman football. Maybe Keith Anders was next to me. I
don't remember. Keith let to remind me. The cross country
coach came up to me and he said, hey, Jeff,
what are you doing? And I said, you know, conditioning
for football. He said, well, what do you want to
do on the team And I was like, you know, receiver,
tied end something like that. He goes, you might win
cleanest uniform in the state. Why don't you comes run
(04:44):
cross country and make something of yourself? And I sat
there and I said, what time does practice start on
you started to cross country? I went to a freshman year.
I go, I show up at the practice and they
take a look at me. Back then I was fit, trim, Yeah,
but I was short. Anyway, you go the running backs
(05:06):
took about twenty minutes. They were like, you go, the
lineman so not fast enough to be a running back.
I became the shortest lineman in the history of high school.
But no, it was a fun Army Navy game. In
your morning show, Cities of interest, Dallas the Cowboys, that's
been rare this year with a win, Washington with a win,
Tampa with a win, the Cardinals a big win. Tonight
(05:28):
we have two Monday night football games. Oh treat, I
don't know that either is really that much worth watching.
The first one probably more so Bears in Minnesota, although
the Viking should dominate this game at eleven and two,
And the other one's a real stinker. I mean, I
don't know why we did this Atlanta and Vegas. No,
(05:50):
that's what I won't even feel, the zero guilt that
I fall asleep. See, since Monday Night Football has come
off of ABC and really the national prime time all
we get is stinkers. Well, you know, we grew up
in a Monday night football era, then that got taken
over by Sunday Night Football. Now I'm not sure Thursday
Night Football without Michael's is in a bigger event and
(06:11):
Sunday Night Football or I don't know, maybe it's just
all too much football. Yeah, the Browns lost. I found this.
Red's going to be very disappointed, But I found the
two most interesting stories of the day. Sounds the day
(06:31):
is a perfect ten. I mean Van Jones finally connecting
some dots. I mean, if this guy had been listening
to the things we've been talking about for the last
five ten years, maybe he'd had something to offer. What
if you were still watching him on television. But it's
a clear awakening that he gets. You'll hear Tim Walls
supposedly coming to the light and starting to get it
(06:53):
as the Democrats try to figure out why they lost.
And the question is they can say all these things,
but they're not gonna be able to resist and change
and do them so and that's just politics. Who cares.
Let's move on. Can we have a couple of weeks
before Christmas where we don't talk politics? But this interests
me because I'm looking down at the list, all right,
I don't know why I don't. Every time I go,
(07:16):
I enjoy it, but I don't go to Burger King.
I really don't go to I don't go to any
of the fast foods anymore other than probably Taco Bell
only because things like steak and shake have gotten so good.
You know where you can you don't. You go to
McDonald's and it's eleven ten, ten eleven dollars for a
(07:37):
value meal. That puts every restaurant in play, you know.
So it's why it's not that any of them did
anything to me. There's just better for the same price somewhere.
And you know, once I get off the air at
and I pretty much got a lot of time yeah,
that not jokingly, not as much as you would think.
But you know, I'm not rushed to eat, so I
(08:00):
don't know how you guys where you eat. I'm looking
at the list. I haven't eaten the Popeye since Kenner, Louisiana,
and that's got to be thirty years. Pizzahut, I didn't
even know they existed anymore, although I used to love
to go to them the salad bar. They're pretty much
a takeout carry out kind of place anymore. Chick fil
A I go to a lot, mostly for the kids.
Taco Bella is the only thing on this list I
really see that I eat what but what? You don't
(08:24):
like Taco bell That's not good for you? Well? Do
I look healthy to you? I'm try What about me?
Looks like I'm concerned if something happens to you, So
please eat a little more healthy you. You just missed
my best life. I'm held together with nicorette, gum and coffee.
(08:45):
Oh gosh, shake, Look at port Red over there. I
think you look near depth. You know, I'm feeling a
little nauseous just looking at you. Oh hey, hey, simmered down. Seriously,
what are you doing? So? Where do you eat, and
how does where you dine? How did where you dine vote?
McDonald's ended up a tie. I bet you, I bet you.
(09:09):
Trump closed the gap at the end with the Trump
serving of the fries forty forty two dead heat, Burger
king trump by two forty three forty one. Somewhere there's
a Trump. There's a Trumper out there that's thinking, I
never going to McDonald's again. Burking here on out, Well,
hold your horse is because you're gonna really love Wendy's.
Wendy's diners went Trump's way forty five to thirty nine. Oh,
(09:33):
that's my favorite. Bet By one went to Trump. Arby's
very dominant for Trump fifty one thirty six. Was there
anybody other than Pizza Hut? Which I didn't? I know
you can order pizza, but can there's nowhere to go
dying at Pizza Hut right on. I don't see those
(09:55):
as much anymore. I would love to, especially salad bar
and I do a little and then put a little
bit of French in the middle. Those are good times.
I'm trying to think. Oh no, no, no, Jimmy Johns. Jimmy
Johns was the king of trumpers fifty four five percent.
Harris Sonic was pretty big. Umm, well you gotta throw
(10:18):
me cutball? Oh fifty one? Yeah, but not as No,
the biggest was Jimmy John's fifty four fifty one was
Sonic Pizza Hot freaky fast. So they were in second.
I'm trying to think of where Trump lost. I'm trying
to get something mad at something chibot. They went Harris
forty three. I do eat a chipolte forty three, thirty
(10:40):
seven Harris won? What else did she win? Did she? Oh?
She won Dominoes, dunkin Donuts. She did win dunkin Donuts.
You know, I kind of do my I try to
do mon Dona. That's the way I do by Mexican
food and pizza. I like to switch it up and
a round like a lot of you out there have
been really enjoying the warm, hot krispy Kreme. And I'm
(11:01):
not gonna speak here of chrispy Kreme. Of course, yes
there's not on his mids today, but.
Speaker 5 (11:07):
Every now and then, if you just switch it up
with either a twice.
Speaker 1 (11:10):
Daily fritter, who.
Speaker 5 (11:13):
Sometimes I can't even say the word fritter, it turns
into a song.
Speaker 1 (11:19):
But if you just switch up with a.
Speaker 5 (11:20):
Little duck donut every now something about it with a
nice hot cup of car.
Speaker 1 (11:25):
Could I'd die for a donut right now? Well, please
don't dairy Queen heavily for Trump forty nine thirty two.
Now this is even better. These are your music stars.
Speaker 6 (11:42):
Now.
Speaker 1 (11:42):
Remember Taylor Swift came out and endorse Kamala Harris right,
sure didn't keep twenty nine percent of Swift He's from
voting for Donald Trump, But swifties went Harris is way
fifty nine to twenty nine. Morgan Wallen, you know what
to salute and honor him today. I think I'm gonna
throw a barstool out of my back door real maybe
(12:03):
it'll hit the skunk that keeps smelling up my backyard.
Sixty one percent of Morgan wall And listeners. I mean,
if Donald Trump doesn't do anything, he needs to get
a hold of Morgan wall and I have him sing
at the inauguration. That would be a par Sixty one
percent of Morgan wall And voters voted for Donald Trump.
That's how we rolled down here, by the way, and
(12:25):
I paid thousands for it. I'll be going to see
Coldplay here in Nashville forty four to thirty nine percent.
Coldplay listeners went for Trump. Who else went Trump? Eminem voters, Uh,
Bruno Mars voters went Kamala Harris forty five thirty six.
You can bet on it, on it he did and lost.
(12:46):
Kanye West voters went Donald Trump fifty one percent, ed
Shearon forty four percent to thirty seven percent. Beyonce for
all her talk did sing but talk? Fifty three percent
for Harris, for Donal. I think it's kind of impressive
that Trump got twenty eight percent of Beyonce and twenty
nine percent of Swifties. To be honest with you, Bieber
(13:08):
was closed. Lady Gaga was fifty thirty four for Harris.
Nicki Minaj. Is anybody listening to Nicki Minaj and Katy
Perry anymore for that to matter? I don't know, man,
I mean, they come and go so fast anymore. On
this whole list, the only one I listened to is Coldplay. Well,
(13:29):
I hear Morgan Wallen all the time because of my daughter.
But that's how where we eat voted, and that's by
who we listened to voted, Even those who were very vocal.
I noticed there's nothing on here about Bruce Springsteen, who
was probably the most outspoken. And then there is the
(13:52):
great group, uh simply known as the de Niro's. What
did they do with? Oh? There it is? Oh, now
I'm doing He's got to be stopped. He stop, but
he wasn't. So I thought that was interesting though. Will
(14:12):
anybody dine accordingly or listen accordingly? If so, you have
a real problem. Are you're taking this top weight too serious?
I want dairy queen now, thanks. I don't want to
duck a dova. Thanks.
Speaker 3 (14:26):
This is your Morning show with Michael Dotno.
Speaker 1 (14:30):
Dancey got a new hip. Donald Trump got fifteen mil
for his library thanks to George Stepanophalis. Let's start with
Mark Mayfield.
Speaker 7 (14:36):
Trump filed the suit bank in March after Stephanoppolos said
in an interview that a jury found Trump liable for
rape in the case of e Gen Carroll. The jury
found Trump liabel for sexual abuse under New York law,
but not rape. New court documents revealed the network agreed
to pay out fifteen million dollars and issue a public apology.
In return. Trump's team is dropping the lawsuit. I'm Mark Neyfield.
Speaker 1 (14:57):
Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi recovering after a successful hip
replacement surgery in Germany. Lisa Carton as more.
Speaker 6 (15:04):
New California Senator Adam Schiff said Sunday he has spoken
to family members about Pelosi's condition, communicate with.
Speaker 8 (15:10):
Her daughter Christine, and I understand that she's recovering from
the surgery. Well, so our thoughts are going out to her.
She's an amazing person and as strong and as tough
as she as I know she'll be back on her
feet soon.
Speaker 6 (15:21):
Pelosi's office as she underwent the surgery after getting injured
during a trip to Luxembourg last week. The eighty four
year old former House speaker was medevac to Germany's Landstole
Regional Medical Center for the operation.
Speaker 1 (15:34):
I'm Lisa Carton, the suspect in the killing of the
United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson has retained a high profile attorney.
Well more on that story later in the show, but
for right now, here's Scott gar Karen Friedman.
Speaker 9 (15:45):
Agnifilo, who once served as Manhattan's chief Assistant District Attorney,
will represent Luigi Mangioni her law group Agnifilo in Trader,
confirming that Saturday, saying Agnifilo will not be making any statements.
Speaker 1 (15:58):
At this time.
Speaker 9 (15:59):
Mangi as a preliminary hearing scheduled in Pennsylvania for December
twenty third for charges related to a three D printed
gun and a fake ID.
Speaker 1 (16:08):
He's being held without bail.
Speaker 9 (16:10):
He's been fighting extradition to New York, where he faces
murder charges.
Speaker 1 (16:15):
I'm Scott carr. Hi.
Speaker 7 (16:18):
This is Jimmy Bourne.
Speaker 6 (16:19):
My Morning show is your Morning Show with Michael del Jorno.
Speaker 1 (16:30):
Hey, it's me Michael.
Speaker 2 (16:31):
You can listen to your morning show live on the
air or streaming live on your iHeart app Monday through
Friday from three to six Pacific, five to eighth Central,
and six to nine Eastern on great radio stations like
Talk six fifty KSTE and Sacramento or one oh four nine.
The Patriot in Saint Louis had Impact Radio one oh
five nine and twelve fifty whd Z in Tampa, Florida.
(16:51):
Sure hope you can join us live and make us
a part of your morning routine. In the meantime, enjoy
the podcast.
Speaker 1 (16:57):
How they voted based on where they dine and Duncan
Donuts was probably the only big winner for Kambala. Harris,
Senator Chuckie Schumer is calling on the Department of Homeland
Security deployed drone detection technology. We want some answers from
this administration. The mother of Luigi Mangione reportedly talked to
the FEDS just hours before her son was taken into custody.
(17:18):
And the most interesting part of the story is he
hires this high price attorney that was one of the
contributors on CNN and we have her commenting on the
case which is coming up in our Sound of the Day.
Back when she was a CNN commentator, she thought, well,
the evidence is pretty overwhelmingly, might want to go with insanity,
(17:40):
and she got the job. President Biden is reflecting on
his last four years, though he remembers very little of it.
And the Dallas Cowboys, Washington Commanders, Tampa Bucks led by
Baker Mayfield, the player not My Dog, and Arizona Cardinals,
all winners of your morning show cities in the National
Football League. All right, this is far and away the
(18:02):
biggest story really of the day. And I guess the
headline would be Donald Trump just keeps winning and the
mainstream media just keeps losing. Donald Trump is head of
the White House. MSNBC is headed to a fire sale.
CNN is battling it out with a food channel. I mean,
(18:22):
it's been a really good year for Donald Trump in
a really bad year for the mainstream media, and maybe
this is the fitting way to end the year. How
dead is journalism? Well, it's been a long journey to death.
And in this particular case, we're talking about George Stepanophilis,
(18:46):
who was one of the architects of Bill Clinton's campaign
and one of his first staffers. Signed this is a
political operative that's been plopped as a morning host. We
went from David Hert, remember David Hartman, Good Morning America?
With who is he? With? Oh my goodness the U
(19:07):
Joe London, Joean London, right, Joan London, Joan London and
Dan Hartman, Goodboarding America. Good morning. I mean that's that's
when it was morning, you know. Now, George Steppanophlis redd
is fascinated by this. So I got to make this
point for Redd He's just he's flabbergasted. How difficult is
(19:33):
it legally for someone as famous and how do you
get more famous than Donald Trump? Right now? How difficult
is it for somebody really really famous in the spotlight
to win a defamation case. It is remarkable. I mean,
something's got to be really egregious for that to happen,
(19:54):
and it was. Stepanophlis had to, along with ABC, agree
to pay fifteen million dollars to Donald Trump's presidential library.
That'll buy a few books to settle a defamation lawsuit
against the anchor who inaccurately on air asserted and argued
(20:17):
over and over and over again that Donald Trump was
guilty of rape. The network will also pay one million
dollars in legal fees to Trump's attorney. Trumps suit ABC
and Stepanopholis in federal court in Miami, days after the
network aired a segment and which the longtime Good Morning
America anchor and This Week host repeatedly misstated the verdicts
(20:42):
in the Egene Carol case. During a live This Week
interview with Nancy Mace, representative of South Carolina, Stephanopholis wrongly
claimed that Trump had been found libel for rape and
for defaming the victim of that rape. Fifteen million dollars,
(21:08):
one little kick in the shin on his way in
for Donald Trump. I don't know, President, what do you
think presidential libraries go forward? I mean, fifteen millionaire. They
to just do a room to mainstream media and use
ABC's money to do it, be the nicest room in
(21:30):
the building. This one falls under the I have several
pieces of audio in Sounds of the Day. One of
them is from Tim Walls, who was the vice presidential
candidate along with Kamala Harris. Another is Van Jones, and
they all think they're kind of putting their finger on
what happened and why they lost, and some of them
(21:55):
make some pretty specific points that I would agree with.
I don't necessarily think that they'll change. They know why
they lost. I mean when you think and they'll do
this honestly, so it's not talk radio and picking on
the other side. In life, I assure you nine out
of ten times when I fail, it's not because I
didn't know what to do. I didn't do what I know.
(22:17):
And that's going to be the case for the Democrats.
So even if they can put their finger on the
right things, they won't keep their heart there. But if
I had to pick one reason why they lost, and
it's kind of an umbrella statement, and it seems like
(22:37):
why you're using an umbrella statement to cover all of
the above, well kind of, but no, it's its own thing.
They underestimated the intelligence of the American people, then just
get out of step with them. They underestimated the intelligence.
(23:01):
This show proves it every morning. I brag about you
guys behind your back so much. You have no idea.
I was talking to Jamie Allman, who's going to be
filling in during Christmas, and I was bragging. I said, man,
the other thing I hate is it'll be the week
of Christmas maybe people, and I just I beg you
guys be active on the talkback for him, because I've
(23:22):
been bragging how smart you are. You don't need a
host to tell you what to think. You think, just
find on your own. And so does America a lot
better than the media gives it credit, a lot better
than the intelligentsia and university professors give it credit. Many
Americans do not seem as joyous as President Biden. I
(23:47):
don't know that I put that on President Biden.
Speaker 10 (23:50):
Right.
Speaker 1 (23:50):
I'm gonna have to correct part of this notion because
Joe Biden, he did he did say it was you know,
just it is a great thing, but we gotta wait
and see, and we gotta be vigilant to see who
does take control. All right, so I give him like
a I mean, clearly he doesn't get the issue. Whoever
(24:16):
ends up in control of Syria is gonna do so
in Sharia law, they're gonna be Islamists. And as long
as you have Sharia law, I know, politically correct says
you can't say this, but you're gonna have because Sharia
law is a form of government, it is a way
of life. There is no freedom of speech in Sharia law.
(24:41):
There is no right of assembly in Sharia law. There
is no freedom of religion in Sharia law. There are
no equal rights in Sharia law. So no matter what,
you're gonna get something bad. I'm watching sixty minutes last night.
They're talking about how freedom is erupted in Syria now
(25:03):
that the Assad regime has tumbled, And I'm like, are
you kidding me? Is c itn this ignorant and ignorant
is not stupid, ignorant is blind. I see all that.
To get to the gist of it, the American people
know more than the American mainstream media. They prove that
in the election, and they prove it on Syria, and
(25:25):
they may even know more than the Biden administration because
the American people feel we're probably trading one authoritarian regime
for another. The overthrow of al Assad's dictatorship in Syria
could give way to rule by Islamic radicals, most Americans believe.
According to the latest Rasmusen report, only thirty four percent
of likely US voters think the end of Asad's dictatorship
(25:47):
in Syria is good for the interests of the United States.
Fourteen percent say it's bad for US interests. Twenty six
percent believe the overthrow but of Assad will not make
much of a difference to the United States. Twenty six percent.
I guess they get slapped. They're not sure believe or
(26:12):
not they're not sure might be the actual answer, because
we just don't know until the void is filled. But
to celebrate a sod is gone as if all atrocities
and all suffering will thus end, it's pretty naive, especially
(26:36):
when the ones that overthrew him are former al Qaeda.
If you can't top one of my favorite stories the
Day are at forty six minutes after the our quick
look at your top five stories the Day are next.
Speaker 3 (26:46):
It's Your Morning Show with Michael Delchno.
Speaker 1 (26:50):
Scott listening on WLAC, It's not nice to fool with
Father Nature, Michael, don't you mean Charlie Gibson and Joan
London on Good Morning America. I think Charlie Gibson was
the person that you're trying to name. No, Charlie Gibson
was after David Hartman. In fact, on David Hartman's last show,
they mentioned Charlie Gibson. Listen, Barton, that's.
Speaker 4 (27:11):
Right as a really vital part of all of our mornings,
and as a David of course we say hello to
Charlie Gibson, who will be my new partner in the morning.
Speaker 1 (27:17):
Do you know what exactly the show?
Speaker 6 (27:18):
That's what number?
Speaker 8 (27:20):
That's twenty five and I was somewhere between for me,
between twenty five hundred and three thousands.
Speaker 5 (27:26):
But I have a cab.
Speaker 1 (27:27):
I thought David Harbot had one of the most gorgeous voices.
I mean, you wanted David Harty even when it was
bad news that sounded good coming from David hart prod.
He was silly looking, he had that goofy smile. Well
can I can I be honest? He's still alive, by
the way, eighty nine years old. God bless him. He
for some reason, and I was a Today Show person,
probably because I went to sleep with the Tonight Show
(27:49):
and Johnny Carson, so I woke up with and back
then it was back after the station break. What was
his name, Brian Brank gumble Brian Gumble, Yeah, I gumble
with maybe, well no, But but who was before Katie Jane Paul, Yeah,
that's who I love. Jane Paul. I believe it's from
Fort Wayne, Indiana. And David Harmon is from Pawtucket, Massachusetts.
(28:12):
Home of the Pot used to be the home of
the Pawtucket Red Sox Triple A team. Yeah, but it
was it was David Hartmon. I'm just all that proves
is I'm older than you, Scott. That's all that proves.
But you were right, Charlie Gibson. But he didn't come
till after waking up this morning. We do have your
top five stories of the day, although we can really
narrow down to this. Nancy got a new hip in Germany,
(28:35):
and Trump got fifteen mil from ABC for the library.
Mark Mayfield has Today in Politics.
Speaker 7 (28:40):
Former host Speaker Nancy Pelosi is recovering from successful hit
replacement surgery in Germany you. California Senator Adam Schiff said
