Speaker 3 (00:21):
Starting your morning off right. A new way of talk,
a new way of understanding, because we're in this together.
This is your Morning Show with Michael Del Trono.
Speaker 2 (00:35):
Indeed, everybody it is.
Speaker 4 (00:37):
This is your Morning show with Michael Del Troo. Jamie
Allman here, really happy to be with you on this.
Speaker 2 (00:43):
New Year's Eve eve.
Speaker 4 (00:45):
I hope you're having a great morning, even if you
are heading to work, just to take that one day
catch up on all the things that you have possibly missed.
Something that is not missed is sometimes how the national
you know, I can't figure out whether it is a
planted question or whether the news media really is. Sometimes
(01:09):
the national media as dark as it kind of comes across.
So Jimmy Carter dies at the age of one hundred
and I think everybody can pretty much agree that he
had his ups and downs, that his presidency was fraught
with trouble and even scandal in some cases, and just
(01:35):
not the greatest leadership, and certainly presided over a terrible economy,
which brought us ultimately to Ronald Reagan. People wanted the
pendulum to swing a little bit from the Nixon era,
and Ford kind of paid a price.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
For all that. And that's just the way Americans are.
Speaker 4 (01:54):
They swing the pendulum when things get a little too
much and they're like, okay, enough of this area. So
that's why we got Ronald Reagan, and then eventually you
go through the Obama bush time and then you get
Donald Trump. It's just a it's a course and oftentimes
Americans are pretty good at their course corrections. And as
(02:16):
it relates to Jimmy Carter, I think a lot of
people simply look at his life and say, yeah, man,
that was great man. He's married a long time to Roslin,
habitat for humanity, and I think all in all, God
would be more than pleased with the life of Jimmy Carter,
and God bless him. You know, he's one hundred years
(02:38):
old and stuck it out and yeah, was he one
of the first presidents to criticize sitting presidents and break protocol?
Speaker 2 (02:46):
Yeah, I get it.
Speaker 4 (02:48):
But anyway, so he dies, and most people President Trump
issued a nice little statement with Milania, and generally most
people were just kind of like, all that's say. I
think he's a pretty decent dude. You know, the only
thing I have related to Jimmy Carter is a can
(03:08):
of Billy beer. For some reason. I don't know how
I where I got it, or well I did, but
I have an empty can of Billy beer. I guess
it was when I back in the old days when
you collected beer cans, which is an odd thing to do,
but a lot of us who grew up in the
seventies kind of did that.
Speaker 2 (03:28):
I don't know why.
Speaker 4 (03:29):
There's a bunch of beer cans all over the room,
exotic beer cans, but I've got a can of Billy
beer if anybody wants it. But anyway, so you'd think that, well,
let's just this is without controversy. There's nothing really to
debate about, there's nothing really to crab about or whatever.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
But that doesn't stop this reporter from asking.
Speaker 4 (03:52):
Joe Biden to commentate on Jimmy Carter as it relates
to Donald Trump. So what happens is these uh what
what a what a spiau agn you called them the
gnattering nabobs of negativism.
Speaker 2 (04:07):
I think it's because why why do this?
Speaker 4 (04:10):
Why bounce this ball into into that particular corner?
Speaker 2 (04:15):
And so this reporter, she asked him.
Speaker 4 (04:17):
So, is this just like, how would you what do
you think Carter had the Trump?
Speaker 2 (04:23):
Doesn't you know? Whatever?
Speaker 4 (04:30):
Decency?
Speaker 5 (04:32):
Decency, decency, everybody deserves a shot everybody. Can you imagine
Jimmy Carter walking by someone and need something to just
keep walking? Can you imagine Jimmy Carter referring to someone
by the way they look?
Speaker 2 (04:53):
I mean, come on. So so at that point, you know, it's.
Speaker 4 (04:55):
Like, oh, really, I just go why why ruin a
nice little American vibe where we all kind of sit
back and remember where we were back in the day
and all this kind of stuff and the oh, there
are some people who are going to crab about Carter
and take shots of them and do that kind of thing.
But for the most part, this was just a moment
(05:16):
for everybody to just say, that's really too bad.
Speaker 2 (05:18):
He's the first president former president ever reached.
Speaker 4 (05:21):
One hundred and so it just was just a moment
that that had to be had to be ruined by
the national media. Just there's such pests sometimes, you know.
All right, speaking of pests, are you ready for the
bird flu vaccine? You ready for the big bird flu hullabaloo?
(05:46):
So we've got one of these covid tyrants. Her name
is Leanna When and she is the former Baltimore Health commissioner,
but always appeared on the shows to commentate about bird flu.
And believe me, people spend a lot of time on
(06:07):
this issue. I guess maybe it's because it's the holidays.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
I don't know. Did you listen to her on Face
the Nation for crying out loud?
Speaker 4 (06:14):
CBS decided they were going to spend some time talking
about bird flu and the possible new pandemic and everything else.
And believe me, we're not We're not doing this again,
just so you know, just in case you know, we're
not doing this again. Okay, happening in the Biden administration
right now?
Speaker 2 (06:33):
That isn't going on.
Speaker 6 (06:35):
Yeah, there are two main things that they should be
doing in the days that they have left. The first
is to get testing out there I feel like we
should have learned our lesson from COVID that just because
we aren't testing it doesn't mean that the virus isn't there.
It just means that we aren't looking for it.
Speaker 4 (06:48):
Yeah right, this is the same thing Scarflaty said, and
I'll get to that. But she tried to panic everybody.
They did that thing with COVID. It's like, well, just
we don't know how many people have COVID. We just
know that COVID is out there and anybody can have it.
You're going to kill grandma and maybe even your dog.
Speaker 2 (07:10):
Can dogs carry COVID? You remember that whole thing.
Speaker 6 (07:13):
We should be having rapid tests, home tests available to
all farm workers, to their families for the clinicians taking
care of them, so that.
Speaker 4 (07:21):
Shoot, I wish I would have come up with a
rapid bird flu home test.
Speaker 2 (07:25):
Darn it. I always miss out on these things.
Speaker 6 (07:27):
We aren't waiting for public labs and CDC labs to
tell us what's bird flu or not. And the second
very important thing is this is not like the beginning
of COVID, where we were dealing with the new virus.
We didn't have a vaccine. There actually is a vaccine
developed already against age five and one.
Speaker 4 (07:43):
Oh I didn't know that. Well I'm not getting that
one either, just so you know. But no, believe me,
between now and inauguration day, and probably even after inauguration day,
because you saw what happened during President Trump's first term
when they discovered how much they could manipulate the reaction
(08:05):
to COVID, that it's possible that this is going to
be a thing.
Speaker 2 (08:10):
So get ready for it.
Speaker 7 (08:15):
This is your Morning Show with Michael Deltona.
Speaker 4 (08:23):
This Leana Wen who is a doctor and a COVID
freak and was back in the day, and doctor Burks.
Of course they're making the rounds even though there have
been some cases of the bird flu, but it's not
(08:44):
rapidly spreading or doing any of that stuff. So why
are they suddenly appearing on TV? Why is doctor Brooks
out there talking about the bird flu? And again, as
I said earlier, doctor Brooks was worse than doctor Fauci.
Speaker 2 (08:58):
She was absolutely the.
Speaker 4 (09:01):
Shut down queen running all across the country urging people
to shut their schools down, shut communities down, everything else,
even though that wasn't Donald Trump's policy, but she was
undercutting it every step of the way, and doctor Brooks
was not the person who looked sinister by any stretch.
(09:24):
She looked like she has permanently come right out in
nineteen seventy eight, you know, wearing her scarf and her
hoop earrings, and she just kind of really looked harmless
and innocuous and.
Speaker 2 (09:38):
Smiled and pretty and all this kind of stuff.
Speaker 4 (09:42):
But she was really, I think, one of the most
destructive forces during COVID.
Speaker 2 (09:48):
So she's back on CNN.
Speaker 8 (09:49):
A loot of a spread can be asymptomatic, so we
kind of have our head in the sand about how
widespread this is from the zoonotic standpoint, from the animal
to human standpoint.
Speaker 6 (10:00):
Also, remember most.
Speaker 8 (10:01):
Of those cases described to date happened in the spring
and the summer, so that means.
Speaker 4 (10:08):
That it could only get be worse. Right now. I
like that word zoomatic though, it's pretty interesting. It's a
new one, zooanatic. That's pretty And that's the thing too,
is that you figure like you're a you're an expert,
and you're on TV and you're gonna use words like
zooanatic because it just sounds bad, and it kind of does.
(10:32):
But then say, oh no, those were during the spring
and summer. What are we getting now? And so the
Leona Wind picks up the ball and goes to face
the nation and says, Oh, we need to get this
vaccine out pronto.
Speaker 2 (10:48):
We need to get these testing kits out.
Speaker 4 (10:50):
Right away and check this out. Though, why are they
doing this? Well, they're doing this because they don't know
what the Trump administration will do, and she admitted it.
So what they're doing is they're trying to get this
cash cow going, which is exactly what the whole vaccine
(11:12):
thing and testing kit thing during COVID was. They're trying
to get the payoff as quickly as they possibly can
because basically she knows the Trump administration isn't going to
be buying into the bird flu stuff.
Speaker 6 (11:29):
That's the right approach because we don't know what the
Trump administration is going to be doing around bird flu.
If they have people coming in with anti vaccine stances,
could they hold up the vaccine authorization? If they don't
want to know how much bird flu is out there?
Could they withhold testing? I mean that's a possibility, and
I think the Biden administration in the remaining days should
(11:49):
get testing and vaccines widely available so that at least
empowers state and local health officials clinicians.
Speaker 4 (11:56):
Yeah, oh yeah, that's the power of the state local official,
such as spread the vaccine far and wide and whatever else.
So they're trying to just push this and then they
only have a short period of time.
Speaker 2 (12:08):
Now, they basically have about three.
Speaker 4 (12:09):
Weeks now to really push this bird flu thing, and
I think ultimately they're probably going to make it. And
of course with the testing kits, I don't even know
what a bird flu testing kit would look like or
would have you and I only regret not coming up
with one. And as doctor Burke says, the bird flu
(12:33):
is asymptomatic, but a couple of key possibilities. As far
as I'm concerned, and I'm not a doctor, but I
think that if you are suddenly wanting worms for breakfast,
and you're blinking really fast, and you're lighting your bathrooms
with newspaper, I think that's a sign that you might
(12:53):
have bird flu. We don't know, but it might be
a sign that you might have bird flu. But again
it might be I know people right now and we don't.
Speaker 2 (13:07):
It's not COVID, so.
Speaker 4 (13:10):
And people have tested for COVID, but you probably all
know people who have had this cold or this whatever
it is for like six weeks. It's like a cough.
It's like it can be really daunting. Uh, and we
don't know.
Speaker 2 (13:26):
What that is.
Speaker 4 (13:26):
It might just be the common flu because it's going around.
I know people who have been sick for weeks, but
I don't think necessarily it's the bird fluw And if
it is, these people are just you know, taking niquil whatever.
Some people are still getting the seasonal flu vaccine or
whatever else it is. And so it might be out there,
(13:49):
but right now it doesn't look like it's causing too
many problems except it's really super inconvenient. Some of you
might be experiencing that right now. What are your thoughts
on this? And you're gonna do the bird flu vaccine
if it comes out, it won't be mandated. You can
bet on that, because in the next three weeks it
(14:12):
will it will not be mandated. And in fact, even
Joe Biden with the COVID vaccine, he really didn't mandate it.
Speaker 2 (14:19):
He only said he would, And that.
Speaker 4 (14:23):
Resulted in all these people forcing vaccines on their employees
and all that kind of stuff, and all these businesses
saying you have to be vaccinated before you come in here,
and all that kind of stuff. And Joe Biden never
wrote one word down on a piece of paper mandating
the vaccine. He said he would, he said he was
(14:46):
going to for companies over a certain number of employees, whatever,
and everybody did it anyway. So sometimes it doesn't take much.
And so the next three weeks are going to be
super super interesting. So we've got two divergent things going on.
We've got this civil war that I'll be talking to
you about on the other side here with the H
(15:09):
one B visa issue, which is an unnecessary civil war
to me within the Conservatives. You've got that going on,
and then you have all the people pushing this bird
flu nonsense. And then on the other hand, you have
companies like Toyota and GM who are donating a million
(15:31):
dollars to Trump's inauguration knowing that perhaps good things are
on the way for them. So as we head into
the new year, and we head into New Year's Eve,
a lot of people are looking up and other people
are looking for a way to make it more difficult for.
Speaker 2 (15:49):
You and me one way or another.
Speaker 7 (15:55):
This is Your Morning Show with Michael Deltono.
Speaker 2 (16:03):
There's a possibility.
Speaker 4 (16:05):
This is pretty unlikely, but Democrats can take a stand
anyway and nullify the results of the twenty twenty four
presidential election. So this plan would be that Kamala Harris
would then be elected president and take over the White House.
And the guys are helpful again in their advice, saying
(16:27):
to make an objection under the count Act requires a
petition signed by twenty percent of members of each House,
which is probably not really hard to come by. If
the objection is sustained by majority vote in each House,
which would never happen, the vote is not counted and
the number of votes required to be elected is reduced
(16:49):
by the number. Okay, here's what is going on here,
and here's what's so crazy about it is that didn't
we spend ever since January sixth, twenty twenty one, just
decrying the death of this so called democracy, even though
we're a republic, but the death of democracy, the threat
(17:10):
to democracy, I mean, didn't we talk about I hear
from people talking about how Trump was insurrectionist and needed
to go in a threat to our republic and threat
to the country and all this kind of stuff based
on his attempt to have a review of.
Speaker 2 (17:31):
The electoral College votes.
Speaker 4 (17:32):
That was actually what his motivation was and the motivation
of many people up there on January sixth, and just
for the mere attempt to get an audit of states
that were in question, he was called an insurrectionist. And
by the way, the process of January sixth is a
common one, happens all the time. Some people will successfully
(17:57):
try to get a vote. They were closest than ever
in the history of the country on that day in
January sixth, twenty twenty one. On January sixth of twenty seventeen,
Jamie Raskin, of all people, tried to pursue a review
of the electoral College votes and was unsuccessful because he
didn't have a Senate sponsor and the person who told
(18:20):
him that it wasn't going to go anywhere was none
other than the Senate President and then Vice President Joe Biden.
Speaker 2 (18:28):
So anyway, just.
Speaker 4 (18:29):
So you know, your friendly deep state is plotting as
we speak to possibly try and keep from from taking office.
Speaker 2 (18:39):
Probably won't happen.
Speaker 4 (18:41):
And what's crazy is, even while this is going on,
so many of these companies that have previously criticized President
Trump are now piling money into his inauguration. As mentioned earlier,
Toyota is one of them, but a lot of these.
I mean, you know, of course all the tech companies,
(19:03):
including Facebook and Beyond, and the tech company issue is
playing a part because are they trying to get some
kind of influence as it relates to the H one
B issue, which I was super shocked, and I don't
know whether you were. I was super shocked at the
(19:23):
profane comments of Elon Musk on individuals who have basically
simple questions about the H one B visa program. Now,
keep in mind the VAC and Elon Musk both want
to expand a program that at the very least should
probably be reviewed for abuses because it is being abused.
(19:47):
And the quota quotas in our tech schools that are
taxpayer funded reach thirty percent in some cases, MIT as
well as Harvard, thirty percent of the classroom seats in
their tech programs are reserved solely for India and Chinese
(20:11):
nationals Indian and Chinese nationals, So that's already putting American
kids at a disadvantage because they only have a seventy
percent chance instead of what they should have is all
one hundred percent chance of getting into a school of
their choice. As long as these are all supported by
tax dollars, it all ought.
Speaker 2 (20:32):
To be under review. But that's been the problem.
Speaker 4 (20:36):
And I said earlier as well, STEM programs are being
suffocated by the Department of Education. STEM programs in public schools,
that science and technology programs, and so, as Vivek pointed out, well,
Americans just stupid and education culturally, we're no, no, no, no,
it just hasn't been elevated. We haven't been nurturing a
(20:59):
focus on technology and science in our schools. And at
the same time, our government has been blocking, through its
taxpayer funded institutions and everything else, blocking the success of
many American students. There is an individual, and he's a
(21:19):
wise one, and his name is Darren Beattie. And we
have this really just unnecessary battleout. So now Steve Bannon
is calling Elon Musk a toddler. Elon Musk is calling
you a racist if you are unsupportive of the H
one B program in full, the VAC is calling you stupid.
Speaker 2 (21:43):
Trump doesn't know what to do with these.
Speaker 4 (21:48):
The mouth of Elon Musk. So he's like, yeah, no,
I think it's a good program. I was like, there's
no dispute that the H one B program is a
decent program. The dispute is whether or not it's being abused,
and of course the future if we continue to abuse it.
Speaker 9 (22:03):
Well, it's very important, and I think the critical thing
is to separate the signal from the noise, because there's
a kind of factional dispute that's gained a significance almost
beyond the actual, you know, substance of the item in question.
And I think for the substance of the debate, clarity
is very important because on the one hand, we're we're
(22:27):
hearing stuff about, oh, we want to attract the highest skilled,
highest talent, and I think it's important to understand that
talent and cheap labor are very different things, and we
need to be clear us to do these tech companies
want the H one B because they're really exceptionally talented
or do they want them simply because it's economically beneficial.
Speaker 2 (22:50):
Yeah, I'll take B.
Speaker 4 (22:53):
But that appears to be a problem and so at
some point we have to assess this. And I think
it's ditch and genuine for vivek Ramaswami, for instance, just
simply to write the H one b questions off as well,
come on, we're just not as smart.
Speaker 2 (23:11):
These people are the.
Speaker 4 (23:12):
Top rated talented people, and it just isn't the case.
There's no factual evidence that an Indian student or a
Chinese student is smarter and more talented. And in fact,
the one evidence I have that it's not necessarily the
case in many cases is the seven thirty seven Max,
(23:34):
the Boeing seven thirty seven Max, where you had the
software issue and it was bum software and it was
created by nine dollars an hour Indian nationals using H
one B visus and so that right there should indicate
that Ramaswami is off base.
Speaker 7 (24:00):
This is your morning show with Michael Deltono.
Speaker 2 (24:08):
Well, there are a lot of weird stories today.
Speaker 4 (24:10):
But Jay Leno, you know, he appears to be injured
quite a bit lately, and so he has occasionally been
interviewed on a street or whatever with a bruised face,
or he did this, he says he's fallen down whatever.
And so now suddenly there's this crazy rumor. I think
(24:31):
it's being stoked by the inquirer that somehow jay Leno,
who is has more money than you know, who is
being beaten up because of his gambling debts.
Speaker 2 (24:48):
So here's a guy.
Speaker 4 (24:49):
I mean, those gambling debts have to be like super
super formidable for him to be beaten up over them
and him not to be able to pay them off.
So none other than Bill Maher decides he's going to
go ahead and inquire about what's up with Jay.
Speaker 10 (25:09):
Well, I love the idea that the mob would drive
to Greenberg, Pennsylvania, wait outside the Hampton Inn and and
kind of a sleety, kind of rainy day to throw.
Speaker 2 (25:22):
Me down the hill.
Speaker 11 (25:24):
Yeah yeah, well, no, that's not what they're saying. Please
don't mischaracterize the Enquirer. They're saying, throw you down the
hill was your cover story.
Speaker 2 (25:33):
But they just beat you up like the mob always does.
Speaker 11 (25:36):
And that when you had the other accident where you
fell off your motorcycle wink wink and had your knees.
Speaker 10 (25:43):
Know what happened was that guy had a rope across
the driveway and it cut me.
Speaker 2 (25:47):
Because are you sure he did?
Speaker 4 (25:48):
Jane, So anyway, for some reason, and it might be
something completely different, but to me, if you're Jay Leno
and you have like one hundred cars and whatever and
unlimited riches, I don't think there's a gambling debt in
the world, or even a casino game you could possibly
(26:10):
be paying playing where you're going to lose the kind
of money that would put you in debt.
Speaker 2 (26:16):
I'm just wondering.
Speaker 4 (26:17):
Oh, by the way, Merry Christmas to you too, Michelle
Obama for crying out loud.
Speaker 12 (26:22):
Happy holidays everyone. I know it's been a difficult few
months for so many of us, and that folks are
feeling a little bit anxious and.
Speaker 2 (26:31):
Uncertain, are they?
Speaker 4 (26:33):
I You know, I have to tell you truthfully, I
have this feeling, and I have this theory that there
are a lot of Democrats even and liberals already you
want to call them, who are secretly kind of happy,
because first of all, they knew that Kamala Harris probably
(26:56):
wasn't super up the snuff.
Speaker 2 (26:59):
They were confused.
Speaker 4 (27:01):
They were looking at a party that didn't necessarily seem
to have a message or a plan for the country
and instead just had a lot of name calling and
a lot of innuendo and that kind of thing. And
I wonder whether or not there are members of the
Democrat Party or even on the liberal side, who are
(27:24):
secretly happy about this and seeing it perhaps as an
opportunity for the party to kind of realign itself or
figure things out, just like the Republican Party did. I
know anecdotally there were a few people who were generally
known as more liberal journalists, like Glenn Greenwald and Matt
(27:46):
Tayibi and these guys who were basically saying the same
thing that said, you know, we are okay with this,
We're okay to take a pass for four, I don't know,
even eight years if we have to to figure out
out what's going to happen. And I don't think there's
much that Donald Trump could do that would really, in
the end hurt us. But Michelle is stoking that and
(28:10):
she wants you to give money to her foundation.
Speaker 12 (28:12):
But even during these tough times, there are plenty of
reasons to stay hopeful. And I see so much of
that through the people we work with through the Obama Foundation.
Speaker 4 (28:25):
Yeah, so just give us twenty five dollars and you
won't be anxious anymore. All's going to be All's going
to be fine, all right. Many of you shopping on
Amazon over the holidays might have experienced this. I know,
I know I've seen it before. A example of this
Amazon Fire TV. It's a fifty inch for Series four
(28:45):
KSE smart TV with fireTV, Alexa, remote stream live whatever.
I still wouldn't be able to figure it out. That's
why I watched the Commanders game in Spanish. But anyway,
it's two ninety nine ninety eight on Amazon, and they
put a little thing under it called the list price,
and it's four forty nine ninety nine, So then they
(29:06):
say your savings is thirty three percent. I believe that
every time I see it on Amazon and on anything
that they are selling, I do notice some things are
more expensive on Amazon than they are at stores or whatever.
But this time, though, an Amazon customer has filed a
(29:28):
lawsuit alleging that Amazon advertised fake deals to sive people
into rushing to purchase TVs. And this is just an example,
is this fire TV. David Ramirez is the one who
put forth the lawsuit and basically said that.
Speaker 2 (29:47):
List price is completely.
Speaker 4 (29:49):
Made up, and they did a survey over a period
of months that showed that the television there's never these
types of televisions never sold ever for four ninety nine.
Speaker 2 (30:06):
They never sold for that price. They were always under
that price.
Speaker 4 (30:10):
And they did an experiment and just kind of monitored
these things, and so they realized that where did that
price come from. So if a judge decides that this
case can proceed, what's going to happen is it's going
to become a.
