Speaker 1 (00:00):
Previously on Your Morning Show with Michael Die Joe.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
And Chris Walker is a Republican consultant, an analyst, and
he's a regular here on your Morning Show. He was
in Washington for the inauguration. Pretty extraordinary day, Chris. How
would you put it into a word or two or
a sentence? Incredible? Good morning, Michael.
Speaker 3 (00:19):
You know he was actually Trump was actually asked about
that yesterday in his his press cattle for like an
hour as he's signing a checktive orders, you know, he's
talking about all the billionaires that are with him, and
he said, well, they used to be a Joe, but
they realized he didn't know what he was talking about
and they left it. So, you know, in a way,
(00:39):
it is kind of an interesting kind of double uh,
you know, both a praise to President Trump and an
indictment on President of Biden as well.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
So if you listen to the latest Joe Rogan, I
mean Zuckerberg throws the Biden administration right out the bus.
Speaker 3 (00:53):
Yeah, that's right. You know, my Tha went through yesterday.
Obviously we're just you know, just even in all the
rooms Washington, it's even these kind of cynical you know,
lobbyist rooms and everything. I mean, everyone was very optimistic.
This is a very hopeful time. You know, I think,
irrespective a pardon in his personship, everyone can kind of
look at the past four years ago. This is a
(01:14):
failed president. This is a failed attempt at at you know,
government overreach in every facet of life. You know, the
corruption will only be uncovered more and more over time.
I cannot love how to Trump in the middle of
executive orders till thou well to go look into the
drone thing in New Jersey. It's just like, this doesn't
happen for four years. There was a hiding of the
president for four years, and now we have an open
(01:34):
president who's having press conferences in the middle of the
Oval office while he's signing executive orders.
Speaker 4 (01:39):
So well, how did they get Joe Biden?
Speaker 3 (01:40):
Want its excitement, but that's.
Speaker 2 (01:41):
What it is. How did they get Joe Biden elected
in the first place, changing election laws, meddling and government,
hiding him in a basement, then exposing him and removing him,
and then hiding Kamala and plain sight. I mean, that's
really one of the remarkable things yesterday. There's no whether
you love him or hate him, there's no question who
the president is and who's running the country. That's refreshing.
Speaker 3 (02:03):
It is well, you know again looking at and talking
about colonizing Mars and seeing Elon Musk like jump up
for joy about it. I mean that's you know, even
in the transition talking about expanding America to Greenland and
you know, taking back the pan On Canal and you know,
even looking at Canada. This's this, you know, this re
embrace of manifest destiny. It's it's something we study in
(02:25):
elementary school and then adulthood kind of makes it, makes
it cynical and think that we can that we can't
achieve those great things and where well, of course we can.
Here President Trump with a with with with a vision
to help us, help us get there. As wonderful as
it's positive.
Speaker 2 (02:37):
Chris Walker, who I assume has not slept yet, or
did you get any Did you get any sleep?
Speaker 3 (02:44):
I got a good night sleep last night.
Speaker 2 (02:46):
I did.
Speaker 4 (02:46):
Oh, so you're a good boy. He went to bed early.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
But we're we're talking about the extraordinary day yesterday. Well,
let's start with all of these pardons. I think he
pardoned all of his family. He's really pardoning his brother.
The other names are just thrown into three. You off,
but this is the link to Hunter and to the
big guy when he was vice president and the filthy,
corrupt deals that they made. He's protecting his brother on
(03:10):
the way out, as he protected his son earlier. But
that doesn't stop anybody from investigating him or Fauci or
anybody else.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
Right.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
In fact, it's almost troublesome for them because they can't
plead the fifth Now there's no way to incriminate them.
Speaker 3 (03:22):
They may well absolutely, and I mean, goodness gracious, I mean,
all of these liberals when they were criticizing President Trump
talked about the idea of taking a pardon, is you know,
an admission of guilt.
Speaker 4 (03:35):
Well, here you go.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
I mean this is literally Millie and Fauci and all
these these these the Biden family, these are all tascit
emissions of guilt. I mean, obviously it's not admissible in
the court of law, but it's certainly admissible in the
court of public opinion.
Speaker 4 (03:48):
Where why would you lobby.
Speaker 3 (03:50):
For one or take one if you were weren't afraid
of the of the consequences.
Speaker 4 (03:55):
Let's turn to the speech. It really was a hope
and change speech.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
At times it did feel more like a State of
the Union than an inaugural address. I couldn't believe how
he was framing the corruption and failure of the previous
administration with them two feet away from him.
Speaker 4 (04:14):
But he basically he ended with I want to play
one clip for you that I think is very important.
Speaker 5 (04:20):
Many people thought it was impossible for me to staye
such a historic political comeback, but as you see today
here I am the American people have spoken, all right.
Speaker 2 (04:32):
So it's about the American people. They have spoken. They're
the reason he's there. The crowd obviously goes great, well
half the crowd like the State of the Union. But
then he comes back with this line that I want
to focus on.
Speaker 5 (04:51):
I stand before you now as proof that you should
never believe that something is impossible.
Speaker 2 (04:57):
To do in America. The impossible is what we do best.
I mean, I think that's the memorable quote. That's that's like, yeah,
what a great line. Because this isn't just his journey.
We all took it with him. We all risked our jobs,
we all risk losing family members that speak to us
or whatever else. Do this demonization process that the left
(05:17):
tried to play, We all came out the other end.
It's all of our victory. It seemed impossible, but guess
what impossible is what we do best.
Speaker 4 (05:27):
To me, that's the whole speech in one line.
Speaker 3 (05:30):
I think that's right. And again it goes to that,
you know that that that view of optimism and hope
and growth and expansion. You know, it's it's what's made
this country great. And we've been asleep for fifty plus
years or so just in terms of the ingenuity and creativity.
And it takes folks like Elon Musk and Donald Trump
(05:52):
to help us bring it back. And it's been it's
been enlightening and fascinating. We're not a country run by bureaucrats.
I got on a few tech threads with some liberal
friends of mine yesterday who were complaining about, you know,
the billionaires and the clos you know, well, this is
you know, there's a sociable qualified here than Anthony Fauci.
And you can to see, you know, folks kind of
continuing to defend you know, government bureaucrats who try to
(06:15):
stifle freedom and innovation at the expense of growth and optimism.
It's it's, it's, it's it is the fundamental change of
of of of ideology, that that's needing to be swept away,
and we're seeing that in real time, happening yesterday.
Speaker 2 (06:29):
You know, there's other whenever you're doing a campaign, and
it's always I never it sounds so cheesy, but it's
always a question I ask a candidate. It's always the
most revealing answer, why are you running for this office?
And and for Donald Trump, he made it crystal clear
that he felt like his life was saved for this purpose,
(06:50):
to make America great again. And then the other thing
is there's always promises made and then are they kept.
Time will tell, well donald Trump managed to keep his promise.
Is in the first day, before the auditorium full of
twenty thousand people who supported him, he starts signing executive orders.
Speaker 4 (07:08):
I mean, that's very very different.
Speaker 3 (07:12):
It well, and again it goes it goes to the
you know, somebody else that I don't know if there's
been an article written about this or not that not
this should be something smarter than me. But you know
what it is, does the American psyche when your president's
hidden for four years and you realize that that the
person is unqualified for the job, and you know that
it's being run by a dark cadre of people behind
closed doors. And here here's the president that's open and
(07:33):
honest and you know, just putting his whole, his whole
self out there and seeing the decay of the media
in real time, you know, the whole silliness of Elon Musk.
You know, these these liberal media folks trying to pretend,
you know, that he did something that he didn't do.
You know, these are tired, worn out things that people are.
People are seeing through it in real time. Thank goodness
for Twitter and all these other places where you know,
(07:55):
we can get the real message out now, and that
leads to even more awake to what's possible and what's
good rather than this continuous need to kind of still
kind of push down and hide.
Speaker 2 (08:09):
I want to give the President credit for this. First
and foremost, it really wasn't about him. He had some
vintage Donald Trump moments later in other visits to different rooms.
In fact, he had my wife and I just laughing
hysterically at one of the exchanges. But he didn't make
it about him, and he didn't make it about just
(08:29):
the Republican Party. He made it about America and Americans
in our direction. And I think that's a powerful start.
And it didn't go unnoticed. He's sitting with a fifty
six percent approval rating right this second. I don't think
there's any way I'll ask you, is there any way
that Donald Trump could have gotten off to a better
start before the sun went down? Likek Andriley's bill passed
(08:51):
before the sun went down? His Secretary of State was
voted in place ninety nine to nothing unanimously, and heg
Seth is moving forward out of committee. I mean, and
then all of the executive orders and just an extraordinary day.
I'll give you the final say, I from Milania's hat
to Baron stealing the show, uh, to that beautiful Vance family.
Speaker 4 (09:16):
I mean, it was just a great, great day.
Speaker 3 (09:18):
Oh that the hat, I mean, goodness, what what grace
and beauty? And you know Joe Biden gets three Vogue
covers and Malie never got one.
Speaker 4 (09:26):
Let's do you think you're like my wife with the
how beautiful I look? All right?
Speaker 2 (09:32):
If they're at the White House and they make Jill
sit in the front seat and Milanya gets in the
back seat dressed like that, don't you expect her to
pull out like a piano court and strangler.
Speaker 4 (09:42):
I mean, she looked like an assassin. I don't know.
Speaker 3 (09:46):
It was the revenge you could.
Speaker 2 (09:47):
You know, it's Lana's reven for sure.
Speaker 3 (09:50):
There's some great tweets about that yesterday. Look the handle
this is. This is a real moment for them. You know,
it's a triumph overcoming so many obstacles. Let's not forget
all the lawfare and all of the things that they
threw at them for eight years. Now that there's a reset,
this is a tremendous moment. And it's really that hope
and optimism that I think was with the slogan of
(10:11):
the Obama years that are going to be the reality
of the Trump years.
Speaker 2 (10:14):
Yeah, open change was really the theme of the speech.
And impossible it's what America does best. Really sums it
up because if you only get that this was Donald
Trump's victory, you missed him. It was America's victory, it
will be America's victory, and for a lot of us
that stood behind him at great cost, it was our
victory as well. It was a president had some really
beautiful things to say. Chris, lucky you to be there,
(10:37):
and we'll talk again next week or sooner if conditions.
Speaker 4 (10:39):
Weren't oh good.
Speaker 3 (10:40):
Thanks for I appreciate it.
Speaker 1 (10:41):
Miss a little, miss a lot, miss a lot, and
we'll miss you. It's your Morning Show with Michael del
Trunau
