This is your.
Speaker 3 (00:27):
Morning Show with Michael O'Dell john Well.
Speaker 1 (00:30):
For most of you went to bed with the news,
and now we wake up with very little more answers
than we had when we went to bed. But welcome
to Thursday, January, the thirtieth year of our Lord, twenty
twenty five on the air and streaming live on your
iHeartRadio app. This is your morning show. I'm Michael del John.
Jeffrey Lion of the Controls I RED producing American Airlines
(00:52):
has confirmed a flight from Wichita, Kansas, plunged into the
Potomac River after an Army official set of colle with
a Blackhawk helicopter. The first, you know thought that's going
to come to mind is how do they not see
each other? Which makes this rather interesting. The actual audio
(01:15):
and you can hear the tower asking the military helicopter
do you have the CRJ insight? And then comes back
and says, pass behind the CRJ. And then you hear
from American Airlines, oh oh my. And then you hear tower,
(01:37):
did you see that? And then they start talking to
this delta flight saying you might want to go back
to the gate. There's been a collision. We're going to
be shutting down operations for indefinite amount of time, to
which the delta flight responds, yeah, we witness the whole thing,
(01:58):
if you need any information from us. So, and then
the video came out and that you can just see
the collision and the explosion. So here's what we know.
The plane Obamader CRJ seven hundred, about sixty five seats
total on these twin jets. It was operating as flight
(02:22):
fifty three forty two for American Airlines. Again, these are
regional jets that major carriers use. It's the fine print
on your ticket sometimes. And apparently right around nine pm,
I think it was about eight fifty Eastern time the
(02:45):
crash took place. The helicopter was at Blackhawk Helicopter. Earthcam
footage shows this collision as It happens from a great distance,
but you can see the two. The plane was about
four hundred feet off the ground, making final approach at
a speed of about one hundred and forty miles an
hour when you see the helicopter just kind of rise
(03:06):
up into a major explosion to brief falls into the
Potomac River. About three to four minutes before landing, air
traffic controllers asked the Commercial American Airlines jet if it
wanted to land on the shorter runway thirty three a Reagan.
They're all shorter Reagan, but the shorter of them all
(03:27):
runway thirty three, and the pilot said they were able.
Controllers then cleared the plane to land on runway thirty three.
Flight tracking sites showed the plane adjust its approach to
the new runway then less than sixty seconds before the crash,
and the air traffic controller asked the helicopter if it had
the arriving plane in sight. The exchange I just shared
with you, and that's really all we got to go
(03:51):
on the search and rescue, which is now I presume
search and recovery just horrendous conditions. The temperatures have been
very frigid in Washington, d C. I think yesterday warmed
up a little bit, but those waters not long ago
were frozen solid, let alone freezing temperatures, and then the
(04:14):
magnitude of the explosion. So more than a dozen bodies
have been recovered. There is no official word of any deaths,
but officials holding the news conference at Reagan National very
somber tone. So what we know is there were sixty
passengers on board the plane and four crew members. There
(04:34):
were three crew members on the helicopter, and the search
and recovery continues. I think we're expecting another news conference
shortly after sunrise. American Airlines sent all of its officials.
Your heart just goes out. I know. That's kind of
what the President was conveying last night, First and foremost
(04:54):
his gratitude for the search and rescue workers, and then
his thoughts and prayers for everyone who lost life and
lost loved ones. There can be no worse nightmare than
you're going to the airport to pick up loved ones
(05:14):
and next thing you know, you're being informed by airport
personnel of the crash about what three hundred I think
responders working in this rescue operation, and it's a cooperation
fireboats in the water. Metropolitan Police Department responded, you're looking
(05:38):
at first responders from across the district of Columbia, Maryland,
and Northern Virginia all joining in the search effort. Obviously,
as soon as we get more information. One thing did
come out of Task News Agency, the Russian state run
Task News Agency. They reported this morning the Russian figure
skaters you have, Jenny Shishkova and Vadam Numov, were apparently
(06:03):
on that American Airlines flight. Now there does seem to
be some question as to whether or not their son,
who is a current skater, was on the flight. The
indications are he wasn't then now they're not so sure.
But these two in August of ninety five, were married.
They settled in Connecticut in nineteen ninety eight, and they
(06:24):
have a son, Maxim, who was born in two thousand
and one, now twenty four years old. Maximum figure skater
for Team USA. Took part in the championships in Wichita.
There's probably a lot of skating relating people on this plane.
It was returning from a US championship in Wichita to Washington,
d C. So, but that much we can confirm through
(06:46):
Russia that this skating championship pair from nineteen ninety four
were on that plane, and that's what we wake up to.
So fatalities have been confirmed after a mid air collision
in Washington, d C. Rescue crews continue with search and recovery.
The commuter jet with sixty on board four crew collided
(07:08):
with a military black Hawk helicopter with three crew members
on board. RFK finished his first confirmation hearing one more
to go. We've got plenty of exchanges in our sounds
of the day. Probably you know as you watched it,
(07:29):
Kennedy did good. He's very comfortable in a courtroom. He's
very comfortable articulating what he has done, what he hasn't done,
what he has said, what he hasn't said, and what
his beliefs are. We kind of laid it out yesterday.
If you can keep the tone, make America healthy again.
Who can argue with America being unhealthy? Just like later
(07:51):
today in the show, if we have time to get
to it. Our grades on education really bad. So really doesn't.
I mean it does from the standpoint of if you're
far left, you're probably more into socialization and in doctrination
than you are education. So this is actually a good
report card for you, But if you really care about
(08:12):
our kids, if you really care about preparation for citizenry,
preparation for higher education, preparation for the workforce, the ability
to compete internationally, whether you're a Republican or a Democrat
or an independent, anything from the far left to the
far right, there's no arguing we're failing. We're failing to
(08:34):
educate our children worse and worse every year, and the
same is true when it comes to help. There were
a lot of moments that kept coming back to that theme.
I mean, even Bernie Sanders talked to great length about
I'm on board with your mission, and then he lays
out the case for how unhealthy America is, always throwing
(08:56):
in a lot of other things, ultimately landing on envy,
you know, the rich insurance companies and the rich CEOs
in the medical field. It always comes to that. Then
there was the contentious moment over some baby onesies that
were sold, but by and large, yes it was contentious. Yes,
(09:17):
it was one of those typical where the left was
constantly attacking and the right was constantly defending. But we
got some pretty choice moments in our sounds. The day
you want to stick around for so kind of a
rough and tumble first day for RFK Junior. As expected
Day two coming today. President Trump had harsh words for
the Fed who chose not to lower rates at all.
(09:40):
David Boonson, who is a economist and our money whiz,
will be joining us in the third hour. And Meta
has agreed to pay twenty five million dollars to settle
a lawsuit with President Trump and Zuckerberger himself with a
lot of kind words for Donald Trump. That's the anytime
you have a tragedy like this in Washington, d C.
That falls under the headline in other news, because all
(10:02):
eyes and all thoughts and prayers are on the collision
over the Potomac and now the search and recovery in
the Potomac. Will keep you posted as the morning goes on.
Royo o'neiler, national correspondent, will have the very latest one,
he joins us next hour. All right, seventeen minutes after
the hour, Thanks for waking up with us. It is Thursday,
January the thirtieth. What do we have one more day? Tomorrow?
Thirty first, right, there's thirty one in January. You've got
(10:23):
one more and that's it. Yep. Our first month of
the new year is already gone. It's over. How long
before it's twenty twenty eight? Already? Well, well, we take
them one day at a time. Here, miss Alilia, miss
a lot, miss a lot, and we'll miss you.
Speaker 2 (10:37):
It's your Morning Show with Michael del Chino.
Speaker 1 (10:41):
All of our thoughts and prayers surround our nation's capital
in the Potomac River, where search and recovery continues. Audio
from an air traffic controller at Reagan National Airport describes
how a regional jet collided in mid air with a
military helicopter.
Speaker 4 (10:56):
The air traffic controller can be heard alerting emergency responders.
The airliner and the helicopter both ended up in the
Potomac River.
Speaker 1 (11:03):
It was probably out.
Speaker 4 (11:04):
In the middle of the river.
Speaker 3 (11:08):
I just saw fireball and then it was just gone.
Speaker 1 (11:10):
She goes on to say.
Speaker 4 (11:11):
It appears the jet and the helicopter collided about a
half mile from the runway. This was a regional jet
operated by American Airlines. The flight was inbound from Wichita,
Kansas when the accident happened near the DC Area Airport.
The airline says there were sixty passengers and four crew
members on board A Mark Mayfield.
Speaker 1 (11:28):
Russian state run Task news agency has reported this morning
that two championship former Russian skaters Yea Virginia, yev Ginia,
I knew I would get it right. Hishkova and Madam
Nomov were reportedly on board that American Airlines plane. Now
we also have the US Figure Skating saying a group
(11:48):
of athletes and coaches were on the flight, which would
suggest more Olympic skaters than just the two Russians. Now,
and then the other issue is their son, who is
a current skater, twenty three year old son Maxim, who
skates for Team Usas were earlier reports, he was not
(12:10):
on the plane than the reports he might have been
on the plane. We don't have any confirmation, but we
know that a group of athletes and coaches were coming
back from Wichita or the skating championship was taking place.
As this story takes shape, we'll have more. Wichita Mayor
Lily Wu spoke to reporters at Wichita Dwight the Eyes
in our National Airport on Wednesday night.
Speaker 5 (12:32):
We really want to ask each and every Wichitan, Cansen
and American to pray for everyone involved in this incident,
whether involved in the incident in DC or those who
are helping with the rescue efforts.
Speaker 1 (12:48):
The CEO of American Airlines expressing sympathy for victims of
the collision between the passenger jet and the military helicopter.
Many of the American Airlines officially were en route to Washington,
d C. They set up an eight hundred number and
CEO had this to say.
Speaker 6 (13:06):
We're cooperating fully with the National Transportation Safety Board in
its investigation and we'll continue to provide all the information
we can. Our cooperation is without pause, and we want
to learn everything we can about today's events.
Speaker 1 (13:19):
That work will take time. What we know a military
helicopter collided with a passenger commuter plane operating under American airlines.
Trump released a statement thanking first responders as they conduct
massive search, rescue, and now recovery efforts. Defense officials say
the military chopper had three crew members on board. All
American Airlines says there were sixty passengers on board returning
(13:42):
from Wichita and a US skate event. Four crew members
and all emergency workers have been at the scene of
the crash all night long looking for bodies any survivors
in very dark and frigid conditions. NBC four reported at
least six, at least four survivors potentially had been rescued
from the river. What was the report we had that
(14:04):
was I think it was eight bodies recovered and it
didn't make any more than a dozen bodies have been
recovered potentially and this is all fluid, but potentially of
the dozen bodies recovered, we got one news report from
(14:27):
Channel four saying four we're still alive. So we'll continue
to follow our top story. All right, As we mentioned,
RFK had a rough day of confirmation hearings, but he
pushed back. Brian Shook has the ups and downs of
rfk juniors confirmation hearing.
Speaker 7 (14:47):
President Trump's pick to lead the Department of Health and
Human Services faced tough questioning about his views on vaccines
and abortion.
Speaker 2 (14:55):
Senator I support vaccines both the childhood schedule.
Speaker 7 (15:01):
Oregon Democratic Senator Ron Wyden went back and forth with
Kennedy over his stance on the measles vaccine. Kennedy has
received criticism from Democrats and others for his views on vaccines.
He'll be back on Capitol Hill tomorrow. I'm Brian Shook.
We're going to do more on that. The whole gotcha
that they're trying to do with RFK.
Speaker 1 (15:22):
Look. RFK has always taken a very in depth, deep
view on vaccines. And if you want to over characterize
it as one little simple thing he's anti vaxx, you
got it wrong. You better go back and watch the tapes.
He wants thorough testing, he wants science to have, you know,
(15:47):
some accountability, that doesn't make him blanket anti VAXs. And
that's what kept playing out over and over again throughout
the day. We'll have more on that coming up.
Speaker 2 (15:56):
Hi. I'm Keith Andrews and Mobile, Alabama, and my morning
show is your Morning Show with Michael del Journal.
Speaker 1 (16:09):
Hi, It's Michael. Your Morning Show can be heard live
weekday mornings five to eight am, six to nine am
Eastern and great cities like Tampa, Florida, Youngstown, Ohio, and
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. We'd love to join you on the
drive to work live, but we're glad you're here now.
Enjoyed the podcast. This is your Morning Show on Michael
del Journal. Jeffries here, Reds here, and our thoughts and
prayers are all with family members dealing with loss. Today.
(16:34):
Fatalities confirmed after a mid air collision near Washington, d C.
Let's give you the very latest. It was an American
Airlines flight from Wichita, Kansas. This is going to probably
morph a little bit more into a US figure skating
story as well, because it was returning from a US
(16:55):
figure skating championship in Wichita. We know at least one
couple former champions from Russia that were on board. We
don't know if their son on the Olympic team was
also on board, but we know that there were skaters
and coaches on this plane. So the plane is a
Bamba Deer made in Canada CRJ seven hundred, has the
(17:19):
capacity for about sixty five seats. It appears as those
sixty were on board, plus four flight crew members. It
was operating as flight fifty three forty two for American
Airlines when it collided with a military helicopter at just
around nine eastern last night. The helicopter was a Blackhawk
(17:40):
helicopter with three on board. The earthcam footage, you can
see the plane descending for landing and you can see
the helicopter going right into it and you can see
a massive explosion. So not a very encouraging visual of
(18:01):
the explosion, let alone landing into the dark and frigid
Potomac River. You can only imagine what search, rescue, and
recovery people were up against throughout the overnight hours. American
Airlines flight fifty three forty two was inbound to Reagan
National and an altitude of about four hundred feet a
speed of about one hundred and forty miles an hour
(18:22):
when the collision took place. No official word of any deaths,
though the tone is somber. We may learn more and
get more specifics. This would be at six thirty Central,
seven thirty Eastern. The next DC officials will have a
news conference and follow up which what was the last one? Read?
(18:45):
Probably twelve thirty in the morning somewhere around there, we
should get. The sun is rising even as we speak
in our nation's capital on the waters of the Potomac,
So I'm sure we'll get a lot more information at
six on that more than a dozen bodies have been recovered.
I don't know. There are no confirmed reports of survivors.
(19:10):
Currently three hundred responders working in the rescue operation or
recovery as it may be. Now, more than a dozen
bodies have been recovered. We did, as I mentioned, get
the first names of victims on board, and it comes
from the Russian state run Task news agency reporting that
Russian figure skaters you have, Ginia Shishkova and Vadam Nomov
(19:36):
were reportedly on board that American Airlines flight. They were
world champions in the Paris figure skating in nineteen ninety four.
They also have a son, Maxim, who is currently Maximum
is currently on the US Olympic skate team. There were
some early reports he was on the flight, than later
reports he wasn't. Maybe we'll get confirmation of that in
(19:57):
the news conference coming up at six thirty central, seven
thirty eastern as well. The only other twists to this, uh,
it does seem as though the tower made a change
to runway thirty three. The American Airlians flight had no
problem with that. You the plane made its adjustments and
(20:19):
about thirty seconds before the actual crash took place, there
was this exchange.
Speaker 3 (20:30):
Flight had two pop pap pine is georda Americord fort
Sid and two walks John.
Speaker 7 (20:35):
One dog, three, teacher one.
Speaker 4 (20:38):
You do that much.
Speaker 3 (20:40):
I don't know if you thought earlier what happened, but
there was a puision on the apersion of three three
we're going to be setting that operation for the indefinite future,
if you want to go back to the gate.
Speaker 1 (20:52):
Yeah, we winnessed the whole thing of their patron, So
I know it was a little difficult to hear. That's
why the first time I just read it. But he's
calling out pat twenty five, do you have the crj
J on your site? So he's calling out to the
Blackhawk helicopter getting no response, and then the collision takes place,
(21:14):
and then the conversation with the Delta flights, So you know,
there might be some questions as to what was up
with the communications in the Blackhawk, What was happening in
the Blackhawk. The actual video which is shot quite a
bit away because it's an earthcam footage, but it just
(21:36):
sees the plane descending for final approach landing and the
helicopter just rising up into it. And we don't know
what the condition of the crew members of the Blackhawk were,
why they weren't responding to the tower that was asking
them thirty seconds before if they had a visual on
the plane. None of that seemed to happen, So we'll
see if more get more details on that as well.
(21:59):
In the news conference, fatalities have been confirmed. Obviously, no
survivors as of yet have been confirmed after a mid
air collision near Washington, d C. Between a Blackhawk helicopter
and an American Airlines commuter jet, both exploding in air
and then landing in a very dark and cold Potomac River.
(22:21):
And the collaboration was really quite breathtaking from the beginning,
and you just you had crews from Washington, d C.
From Northern Virginia, from Maryland police fire boats, I mean,
all in collaboration immediately on the scene. And that's what
(22:45):
they've been up against all night as the sun rises
on the Potomac River in our nation's capital. All right.
The only other really big big news Donald Trump not
real happy with the Fed doing nothing. We'll have more
on that with David bonson the attacks on our FK Junior.
You know, I don't think there's anybody that won't be confirmed.
I would be shocked if any of the cabinet nominees
(23:07):
here forward are not confirmed. And I would also be
shocked if anybody got, you know, just an absolute joy
ride through these hearings. Things got a little heated with
heg Seth. I would say, Pam BONDI. They tried to
get heated, but she just had more heat than them
(23:27):
and fired back. I would say, red, would you agree
with a nod? This was by far the most contentious.
I mean, if you want to know who the left
really has it out for, its certainly OURFK Junior, which
what you know. And again if you just try to
you know, you have every right to not like him
and hate them. They didn't. But but I was looking
(23:47):
at the the level of the attacks. I'll give you
an example, and this is constant, you know, through but
this is kind of how the badgering went. And there
was nothing solid. So it's all generalizations and all, you know,
(24:11):
attempts to put a chink in the character armor. But
it was typical political tactics. I'll give you this one example.
Speaker 2 (24:18):
List I understand is that the executive order that was
issued today, which I haven't seen but I've read a summary.
Speaker 8 (24:24):
Well, let me ask you this then, because you keep
citing the Trump administration and you're just going to follow
what they say, is that what you're doing you're just
a rubber stamp for them in this position?
Speaker 1 (24:32):
All right, take that question for example, you could say
that to anybody you could accuse anyone of that. No,
there's a reason why all these people were chosen to
be on this cabinet, head up these agencies and serve
collectively to inform and serve the president. That's every cabinet.
(24:54):
So when I hear stuff like that, what it screams
to me is they really don't have anything devastating. They
don't really have anything, you know, so far, I would
put it this way. So far, Carolyn Kennedy, as inappropriate
as it was, probably gave the best attack because it
can all be laced with well, she's his first cousin.
(25:14):
I mean, anybody can go I mean, who would know
him better than her? Really, the Kennedy family, as dysfunctional
and large as it is, I'm guessing already Donald Trump
has spent more time with R. FK literally in seconds
and minutes, than Caroline Kennedy has. Certainly a conscious cognitive adult.
(25:37):
Related to the context of what we're discussing, Donald Trump's
probably spent more time with him and why Caroline Kennedy
wants to be a pawn for a Democrat party or
a government that we may be soon finding out played
a role in her uncle's death and her father's death
is beyond me. But these kinds of you know, the
tactics of constantly interrupting and grandstanding. That's what you do
(25:59):
when you just want to be opposing, but you don't
really have anything that can stop the process. Listen to
how it continued.
Speaker 8 (26:06):
So anybody, So it doesn't matter that year before us.
It could be anybody coming before us, as long as
they're a rubber stand for this administration and disregarding your
beliefs and what you think. I guess my question to
you is, if it really is fundamental to what you believe,
how do you live with that?
Speaker 4 (26:22):
You?
Speaker 8 (26:22):
How do you address those issues as you're moving forward?
Speaker 1 (26:27):
Yeah, you know I'm going to answer the question. No,
I'm asking you. Okay, then let.
Speaker 9 (26:33):
Them ask me and the chronic disease epidemic and make
America help again.
Speaker 8 (26:41):
That's the only reason why you're at HHS. Is that
the only reason why then you're at the AHHS to
address that one issue.
Speaker 9 (26:47):
President Trump has asked me because I'm in a unique
position and that and and that is what I'm doing.
And if we don't solve that problem, Senator, all the
other disputes we have about who's paying and whether it's
insurance companies, whether it's providers, whether it's HMO's, whether it's
(27:10):
patients or families. All of those are moving deck chairs
around on the Titanic are.
Speaker 1 (27:14):
They beautifully said? This goes back to a conversation I
had with roy O'Neil yesterday. Was a John Decker I
can't remember. Oh, if you're going to get attacked, you
bat But as long as he keeps the focus on
making America healthy again, it's a problem for those that
would want to oppose disappointment because you can't argue how
(27:37):
unhealthy America is any more than the education crisis in America.
And notice how I said, you'll be very smart to
keep coming back to that, And you saw how he
did it there, how it diffused the home moment. So contentious, Yes,
anything that has a red flag up in my mind.
Nothing I didn't see that them have anything. Elizabeth Warren
(28:02):
had a pretty contentious exchange Bernie Sanders did over the onesies,
but none that really went anywhere and nothing of significance.
Very nitpicky, and they continue to try to just label
him as anti vax That's not where RFK has been.
So the narrative from the left will be to position him. Oh,
(28:24):
now he works for trumpson. Now he's not anti vax,
that's never what he was. But he is pro science,
and he is protesting, and he is pro communicating clearly
the risks and acknowledging the side effects so that you,
as an American parent, can make an informed decision on
(28:46):
risk versus value. And that's what he's always been. So
there was more of that anti vax positioning and it
just doesn't hold up. And whether he's on with Joe
Rogan or before a Senate committee, he is more than
capable of explaining where he has stood throughout and why
(29:08):
he has stood throughout, what he didn't ever say, and
what he has said. So I kind of saw this
going pretty much the way it did, and I expect
it to go that way in part two today, and
I do expect him to be confirmed. We'll have more
sound from the RFK confirmation hearing in our Sounds of
the Day episode. A segment coming up. Listen. If you
went into the new year with a resolution to prioritize
(29:29):
your safety, don't abandon that resolution, could say if you
were a family member's life, But what is your plan
if you're put in that situation. I've got a plan.
I've always had a plan, and I've added to that plan.
After I was exposed to the Berna less lethal launcher
on a six hour firearm when my children were small,
(29:53):
I went to Great Lens to make sure that it
was very difficult with a fingerprint coded safe to get
at it. Because I didn't want an accidental death to
happen with my children. I would have loved to have
had the burn a launcher. What is a burner? Less
(30:16):
lethal launcher? Legal in all fifty states, no permits or
background checks needed. It's a powerful deterrent, whether it's the
tear gas or kinetic rounds. They have a sixty foot
range and one shot could incapacitate an attacker for up
to forty minutes. With a burner, you can save two lives.
Nobody wants to be making that split second decision, fatal
(30:38):
decision and then have to live with it for the
rest of your life or maybe even in a courtroom.
Burn allows you to save two lives. Trusted by over
five hundred government agencies, police departments, and private security firms
with over fourteen thousand, four and a half plus star reviews.

Burna BYRNA dot com Forward slash del Journal. This is
your morning show with Michael del Chona. A lot of
heavy hearts waking up this morning after the collision of
a Blackhawk helicopter and an American Airlines commuter jet with
sixty on board four crew members sixty four total. A
(31:25):
flight from a US figure skating championship in Wichita into
our nation's capital that led to a collision and an
overnight search and recovery in the worst of conditions. It
is kind of quickly becoming a figure skating story too.
US Figure Skating says a group of athletes and coaches
(31:45):
or on the flight that crashed into the Potomac River.
Mark Mayfield has details.
Speaker 4 (31:49):
The organization released a statement last night saying a group
of young athletes, coaches and family members were returning from
the National Development camp being held in.
Speaker 1 (31:57):
Wichiton, Kansas.
Speaker 4 (31:58):
The statement said the organization who was devastated by the
unspeakable tragedy and that it would release more details when available.
Speaker 1 (32:05):
A Mark Mayfield in Wichita. The Wichita Mara Lily Wu
spoke to reporters at Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport on
Wednesday night.
Speaker 5 (32:12):
We really want to ask each and every Wichitan, Cansen
and American to pray for everyone involved in this incident,
whether involved in the incident at DC or those who
are helping with the rescue efforts.
Speaker 1 (32:28):
The CEO of American Airlines express sympathy for the victims
of the collision between the passenger plane and the military
helicopter this way.
Speaker 6 (32:36):
We're cooperating fully with the National Transportation Safety Board in
its investigation and will continue to provide all the information
we can. Our cooperation is without pause, and we want
to learn everything we can about today's events.
Speaker 1 (32:49):
That work will take time, all right. So here's what
we do know. A military helicopter with three on board
collided with a passenger plane flying a regional route for
American Airlines with sixty passengers and four crew members. Defense
Office you'll say the military chopper had three on board.
American Airlines confirmed the sixty passengers and four crew members.
(33:11):
Emergency workers worked throughout the night in very dark and
very cold waters. More than a dozen bodies have been recovered.
No word of any survivors whatsoever. That's what we know.
Questions will have the first view rather immediately that became
(33:33):
available and you could Google search it and watch it
for yourself. What do they call that Earth earthcam footage?
Was you know, quite a bit away, but you know,
once you watch it several times and you know what
you're looking at. You literally can see the lights of
(33:54):
the helicopter going up and the lights of the plane
coming down and they perfect we meet and there is
a very breathtakingly large explosion. Also we get a second
view rhet I get a sense was that person just
videocim as he was driving with his phone. I think
(34:17):
he was trying to take a video of that plane
that you kind of pass by as you're entering the airport.
But in the background you can see the entire fifteen
seconds prior to the collision, and it's a perfect rise
into a perfect descent. And people are going to have
(34:39):
questions about how long they were. You know, was that
plane an autopilot for its landing because there was no
movement as it was going straight into the helicopter. There
was no movement from the helicopter as it was going
straight into the plane. As we know, there were no
responses from the helicopter from tower calls. A lot of
questions about this. Maybe we'll get some answer. DC officials
(35:01):
are going to hold their next news conference at six
thirty Central, seven thirty Eastern. We're all in this together.
This is your morning show with Michael Ndel Joano
