what's different today? We learned a lot yesterday. Considering when
you have a crash like this, the NTSB takes over,
does a long investigation, gives you after a month a
preliminary report, but a final report and a final cause

and determination can be a year or longer. But we
learned a lot nonetheless, In fact, I learned the most
from the NTSP. I'll get back to that in a minute.
Fourteen skaters is the total that were killed, several of
them with their mothers traveling with them. You can only fathom, right,

the devastation for families. Whether and I was reading stories
about everyone. One was a flight attendant. I read his
story from his family. One was the first officer whose
dream was to fly and was finally flying for a
commercial airline and doing great and engaged and getting ready
to get married. I mean, every life on that plane
(02:43):
is precious. We only make the distinction that it was,
in particular a tragic event for the skate community. Fourteen
figure skaters killed in the crash, two teenage figure skaters,
their mothers, two world champion coaches from Boston among the
fourteen members. Reaction poured in from the entire skate community.

The news conference at the Boston Skating Club was probably
the most difficult viewing yesterday. I thought one of the
most notable spontaneous moments Nancy Carigan, Olympic medalist, she didn't
know what to do. Just this is where she skates.
(03:28):
She's been around these kids, been around these coaches, so
and poor thing, you know, just put her hair in
a ponytail, no makeup and kind of like, you know,
like sweatpants and a sweater, just roamed to the ice
skating rink. I can so relate to that, just wanting
to be around the others. And when you got there,
(03:49):
there's a news conference going on. And once there's a
news conference who's not going to want to hear from
Nancy Kerrigan, And she had some beautiful, very emotional remarks.
The order was a figure skater until she was sixteen,
and when you're involved in a skate club, it's seven
days a week and so all you know, you need
to you need to understand it's a skate club community.

So for the two moms that died, there are all
the other mothers who were close to her, traveled with her.
Because you're constantly traveling, it is a very certain unique
relationship and therefore tragedy for them. But nobody is not

acknowledging that every single life lost, all sixty seven of
them are irreplaceable and precious. But the blow to the
skate community to put that in a perspective and help us.
Olympic gold medalist Scott Hamilton is going to join us
in the third hour. It was a historically tragic day
for the ice skating world. There were I can't remember
(04:59):
who it was. It was one of the former champions.
I think it was Meryl Davis. Yeah, it was said
it this way. My heart is shattered thinking of those
sweet young souls whose lives were cut cruelly short. For
(05:20):
me all day and I shared this on the air yesterday.
We had the pictures before, you know, it was appropriate
to give any names or indications. And I'm just staring
at these faces and they're gorgeous, gorgeous. I mean, I
did not want to be on the radio yesterday. I
was heartbroken. She captures that. But watch her next line,
(05:42):
still buzzing from the magic of development camp in Wichita
and the full hopes and dreams for a future. That's
the kind of stuff that was on their mind when
all of a sudden their life ended. Really kind of
captured it. And then, in addition to the fourteen skaters,

Dick Button himself passed away at the age of ninety five.
And I want I want to run that by Scott too.
It was funny when I first became friends with Scott
and I started talking about who the greatest skaters are.
He doesn't hesitate for a second. And none of the
names of the names you think, none of the names

of the names you know, none of the names of
the names you've seen live or over and over again
on tape. He doesn't hesitate and says, tick Button for

the President of the United States, Donald Trump and the
head of an AI company. I said, how did you
get into that inner circle? As far as the crash
itself updates? One day before the crash, a jet had

to abort its landing due to a helicopter. I know that.
You know, you look at this in the initial initial
lines or this is a one in ten million. You
know what. The more these reports came out yesterday, it
looked like a lot less than one in ten million.

Staff shortages with air traffic controllers, the particular air traffic
controller in charge of this. And by the way, the
helicopters on our different frequency than the plane and one
guy's doing two jobs. I think it was red flying.
You know, we're not talking about dropping fries and flipping cheeseburgers.

The President kept trying to find words all day long
for it. I don't know how people are air traffic controllers.
That's a special person. That's the kind of person. Sometimes
I do they know off like drummers. You know, you
got your mind is doing four different things and feet,
each foot's doing something different, hands or doing something different,
you're counting, you're That takes a mind, and that's nothing

compared to an air traffic controller lit alone one having
to do two jobs, not one of all places DCA,
no disrespect to Reagan. It just flies out. And I
don't think I'm the only one that was thinking all
day yesterday, is this really a good idea to be

tracks with ceilings and they're crossing plane. I mean, these helicopters,
they can't all practice somewhere away from a busiest runway.

one in particular was and was doing two staff jobs.
How long has that been going on? How long I've
near missus been going on? The black Hawk was off
its track, so that was inaccurate those early reports. It
was on the wrong side of the river and clearly
above its ceiling. I mean, for not knowing anything, we

kind of know a lot twenty four hours later. Was
the point I wanted to make. But I want to
get back to the NTSB And the same thing happened
with Trump, and the same thing happened when Trump wasn't
on and all of the left media. I had to
filter some this morning for myself. They're just all on

attack on Donald Trump, making this about race. That's not
what he said, but they're making it about race. So
the NTSB does its opening statement, then the point person
makes his opening statement. Questions kind of go to both
of them, and the attacks are immediately on Donald Trump.

for the President to already be pointing to causes The
NTSB never backed the reporters. In fact, I would make
a case, and that's the one sound I may make.
You go find red the chairperson. Very first question to
the chairperson of the NTSB and they try to throw

completely wrong, but we're here together. I'm watching that in
real time, and I'm thinking, Okay, I think I figured

Trump didn't like what his eyes saw. I didn't like

what my eyes saw. Donald Trump probably saw the pictures
of those kids even before I did. He was hurt
and he was mad, and then when he got briefed,
the hell happened. It looked like they flew right into
each other. Nobody even tried to move. I think that's
when Donald Trump found out about a lot of DEI

changes and shortages and near missus that have occurred recently.
That's probably when he found out that air traffic controller
was doing two jobs. Donald Trump flies a lot jets
and helicopters. He knows being an air traffic controller is

die young doing that job. That's how stressful. You die young.
And he's trying to think and that he was doing
two on two different frequencies. I'm telling you he was
probably fit to tie be tied by the time I

got off the air, and everything he said is going
to prove to be true. Some of them have already
come to the surface. Timing is everything. I don't know
that I would have I would have I would have
I would have showed the American people I'm going to
get to the bottom of this to ensure it never
happens again and to honor the lives lost. I wouldn't

have gotten in any particulars because I know it's going
to come out. But you know that that's why he's
president and I'm a nobody. I mean, Trump came out swinging,
and there's a lot of evidence now in the matrix.
And the few people that MSNBC and these leftist rag newspapers,
you know, they'll get that side and they'll lead it up.

by and large, I think I think Donald Trump was briefed.
And when I saw the NTSB not blink, not go
along with him, allow him to be swept under, thrown
under the bus, and actually somewhat back him in very

Trump inappropriately speaking about what he was briefed, where NTSP
knows better, Sounds of the Day will reveal. I don't

You can only imagine when it comes to your life
being at stake in the air, what those fourteen kids
needed in that tower versus what political correctness provided an
accident waiting to happen, and your president was livid and

feeling I have.

The two black boxes from the deadly midair collision in
our nation's capital have been recovered.

NBC News reports that a source with knowledge of the
investigation says they were recovered Thursday. They are now reportedly
on the way to the National Transportation Safety Board lab.
The NTSB earlier in the day said it was going
to work to have a report ready within a month
on the crash investigation on Mark Meafield.

Fourteen figure skaters are believed to have died in that
crash of the American Airlines flight with a military helicopter,
Lisa Taylor.

Reports, USA ice skating legend Nancy Kerrigan spoke from the
Skating Club of Boston.

The athletes, the skaters, they're families, but anyone that was

Skaters, because it's just such a tragic event. USA Skating
CEO Doug Zeghib called it a major loss for the
skating community. Six of the passengers were connected to the
Skating Club of Boston, including two skaters, two coaches, and
two mothers. USA Figure Skating said in a statement last
night the group of young athletes were returning from the
national development camp in Wichita, Kansas. Also on board were

former Russian world champion skaters Atgenya Shishkova and Vadim Namov.

I meant to break that up into two. I won't
tell you who I texted this to. This was somewhat
early in the day, and I said, you know, I've

kind of made a mention of Trump going on the
DEI warpath and I said, well, I'm kind of struggling
a bit. This struck me as a timing issue. Today
should have been about empathy and determination to get to
the bottom of it. It sure would have ended to
ensure that it never will happen again, not come out

swinging and pointing at DEI. Let the findings reveal it,
or cabinet leadership prosecuted. But I don't know, and I
really felt that way early in the day until this moment.
This is when my day completely changed. I don't remember
when it was, but I had to go to moms.

It was probably about three Central. They had the news
conference for Eastern the NTSB as its first news conference.
You're not gonna skip past it because you can't hear
it anyway, And throughout the news conference they would repeat
what the question was. But this person's attacking the president
for rushing to the conclusion and ridiculously pointing to DEI
and expecting the NTSB to back that up. Heck, I was.

I mean, that's just NTSB one on one protocol. We
don't comment on anything. We have teams, we have Pacific areas,
we search, we have a lot of information to gather,
and we don't make any conclusions until we have all

the facts. So that's what I'm expecting. Leftist media throws
Trump under the bus ANDTSB lets them, well watch what happens.

news conference they make it clear that they had already

Something happens and the President of the United States is
tweeting about it live. He's up all night and briefed
all night. First thing in the morning, he's with his
Secretary of Defense because it was a military helicopter. He's

with his chair of the NTSB. He's meeting, he's getting answers,
walks into the press room on the morning after, has
a full throated and determined news conference, pops in throughout

the day making statements, even signs a presidential memorandum from
the Oval office with all the reporters there. Let me
tell you something, the leftist media doesn't know what to
do with this guy because they know the scam they
just witnessed for four years and helped cover up. I

always say to you, it must be refreshing. At least
you get up every morning and you know you have
a president and you know who he is, and you
know he's at work, and you know he's aware and
you know he's taking action. So once you get that,
and then you want to nitpick that he brought up incompetence,

Why because he woke up and nothing made sense to
his eye. And unlike the last president who didn't get

up unless it was a changing, he was fully briefed
by everybody. Now, I have no idea what was said,
but I guarantee you he turned to heg Seth and said,
the hell was going on with that chopper. I'll get
back with you, mister President. And I bet when he
got back he heard it all. Well, it's a real

poop show what they're doing around that airport. First of all,
all my pilots and all my commanders are telling me
were short staffed. They're not even on the same channels.
They're trying to talk to choppers on channels that are
for planes. He must have got an earfull. What and
he's already mad. Then he's turning to the NTSP. While

there were a lot of shortages that came about, they
didn't train for two years because of COVID. Then they
had very strict DEI. There was even a lawsuit concerning
you qualified applicants who weren't hired because of the DEI priorities.
By the time he left that meeting, the President of
the United States didn't need NTSP to go to the

bottom of that shallow river. He had all the information
he needed as to why those kids were dead. And
I guarantee you he was mad. I guarantee you I
was mad. By then, about three point fifty at the
latest Central time, I no longer felt like, what's Donald
Trump bringing up DEI? Oh, I know why he's bringing
it up. It's the cause of the crash. It is

the cause of the incompetence that is the cause of
the crash. But don't miss this point. This is the
point that isn't about talk radio because he has to

like they've got to all be looking around going what

all has been deteriorated over the last four to really

mess do we got to get focused on and get

Donald Trump knows that as somebody who has private jets
and helicopters, he knows the special people it takes in
a tower, and he's saying, this guy's doing two and
at DCA and at night in the lights, and we
got helicopter operations going on at the same time. Off.

I mean, he was probably fit to be tied because
normally you'd get like a preliminary report in a month,
but you don't get a conclusion from the NTSP for
a year or longer. They're thinking to themselves, we don't
have a year. You don't think Donald Trump knew yesterday

morning that there was an aborted landing over a helicopter
twenty four hours before all those people died, and no
actions were taken. You think everything is just political. No,
Thursday night proved sometimes or Wednesday night, right yeah, Wednesday

night prove sometimes it's life and death. Something shouldn't be partisan.
You want to come up with some woke political correctness
and you want to live by that instead of God
or what we used to call common sense or common

knowledge or self evident truth. You know, like so obvious,
we don't need to explain it. Fine, do it, But
when it starts impacting the workload makeup of air traffic
control towers, with all of our family members in the

air and trying to land, that's a different story. I
think Donald Trump had a very similar day to me
and maybe you. I think he saw that crash from
the earthcam video and said that don't make sense, and
he knew he was getting up in the morning and
he was going to get to the bottom of it.

So hag Seth was there and TSB was there. He
was fully briefed and all of his concerns were made reality,
and he was mad. And he doesn't This is what
I would defend him with. He doesn't have the time
to let this play out because planes are taking off
and landing again there and everywhere. When the NTSB didn't

sidestep that question, I went instantly, Oh, she's the one
that briefed them, and you know they sent hegsath go
find out what the heck's going on with these helicopters.
Lound like he flew right into that plane out on purpose.
Then the President gets the poop show history of what's

going on at DCA, and I mean, it's the next
morning talk about inconvenient truths. First of all, the President
probably found out about all the lawsuits. We had qualified
people to do this mentally excruciating job and they're finding

lawsuits because they didn't get jobs over people. And I
would give you the list, but I mean it, it's unbelievable.
Then he finds out they don't even meet they've only
met staffing levels at one percent of their operations, and
they didn't meet their DEI standards. They ended up with

nothing and lives were lost because of it. This I
was going to say for sounds of the day, but

I'm calling on students and alumni from HBCU's Hispanic serving
institutions and tribal collegists to apply now to become air

What do you think their priority was? The slide that
he presents shows how diversity, diversity plus inclusion equals better performance.
I've been through these training programs. They were mandatory where

I used to work, and I know what, I know
what the pitch is. It does not apply to this job.
Your unique cultural experiences bring nothing. Your pigmentation bring nothing

to what I would call juggling and solving seven ubig's
cubes at one time as an air traffic controller. What
you need? I mean, the President was right, what you needed.
People have high intellect, but it goes beyond that, the
ability to do many things at once very well. I mean,

trying in so many words to express this. Accidents don't
just happen. You've never had the NTSB conclude after a
year long investigation, Oh it was an accident. That's their job.
Nothing's just an accident. Something someone or something made a mistake.

particular one understaffing an air traffic controller doing two jobs
at once, with what goes on at DCEA and a
given evening, Are you kidding me? To the two clips

military war. The cultural war is an abandonment of God

and I concluded that the outcome of the cultural war
will play the defining role in the outcome of both

going to do this, but when it's all said and done,
this is going to go all the way to the
cultural movement. And two of three presidents movement towards political
correctness over competence, and it led to sixty seven deaths.

you saw him saying and doing all the things you
