But better late than never. Enjoy the podcast in mister
GiB this is your morning show with Michael o'dill charm. No,
(00:25):
I won't step down. That's what Sentimentority leader Chuckie Schumer said,
getting a lot of pressure over the weekend. Meanwhile, President Trump,
special envoy to the Middle East says negotiators are making
great progress towards the ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine. The
Pope out of the hospital, back at the Vatican and
doing better. And former Utah Congresswoman Mea Love is dead.
(00:46):
Love was the first Black Republican woman elected to Congress.
She died at her home on Sunday after a battle
with brain cancer. She was just forty nine years old.
If you're just waking up, its eight minutes after the
hour and welcome to Monday. March the twenty eighth year
of a Lord twenty twenty five. Rory if this had
been a week ago, two weeks ago, four weeks ago,
(01:09):
we had the miracle on the mat and wrestling. This
is the miracle at the Vatican. The Pope out of
the hospital and back at the Vatican. Who to thunken, are.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
Right eighty eight years old, five weeks in the hospital
with double pneumonia, man who's already had half a lung
removed when he was a teenager. So pretty remarkable to
see him going back to his apartment and not even
going directly back, you know. On the way from the hospital,
they made us stop. The popemobile, that little white fiat
made a stop at a favorite church of the Pope
(01:40):
of Basilica, Saint Mary's Major in Rome. It's the place
where the Pope ultimately wants to be laid to rest,
as a matter of fact.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
But he stopped there, like.
Speaker 2 (01:49):
He does every time he goes away from the Vatican
on a foreign trip, he comes back visits that Basilica.
He did it again before returning to his apartment. Not
out of the woods entirely. He still had been ordered
to do two months of rest, but they're hopeful that
he'll be able to get involved in some of the
upcoming Easter services less than a month from now.
Speaker 1 (02:09):
I mean, it's somebody. My mom has been very, very resilient.
We've fought lung cancer, throat cancer, double pneumonia, pneumonia and
come back. I mean I've seen it, but I can
tell you being around her and others in these situations.
Just at eighty eight years old, being in the hospital
five weeks is tough to overcome, let alone double pneumonia. Really,
(02:31):
I wonder if the pope sees it as a miracle.
I mean, just what on his business, stopped his church
and then made his way home. It really is a
remarkable recovery. I did not know that's where he wanted
to be buried, so he doesn't want to go back
to his home country. Are all popes required to be buried, No,
Most are in the Vatican as they choose to be there.
(02:52):
But he sees himself more as a bishop and wants
to be back buried in this favorite church of his,
this basilica that has a piece of artwork of the
Virgin Mary on wood that apparently is a favorite.
Speaker 2 (03:04):
Painting of his. And when your pope, you get to
pick and choose, You get to choose. Yeah, this was
the pope that once elected. You know, normally people grab
your things because you were a cardinal when you checked
into the conclave, and you're the Holy Father when you
check out. This is the pope that one.
Speaker 1 (03:21):
Up to his room, got his luggage and with his
luggage walked out. So yeah, why not stop at your
favorite church on your way out as well? 'ro he's
gonna be back in the third hour. Are you among
the millions chacing credit card rewards?
Speaker 3 (03:34):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (03:34):
I never really got that, So I got to spend
one thousand dollars to get what ten I think it
is or something like that. It's takes a while to
get there. I don't think i'd be chasing the rewards
as much as just buying what you need. And there
is the old fashioned way, you know, just pay for it,
But who wants to do that. There's no reward in that,
just debt, free living. All right, eleven minutes after the hour,
(03:57):
if you're just waking up March madness. I, as I mentioned,
the only one I would really classify a major surprise
or a altering surprise is Saint John's early exit. I
did not see that in the second round. In fact,
I had Saint John's going all the way to the
Elite eight and losing out in the final four, so
(04:20):
that was pretty devastating. In my bracket, I did not
have Ole Miss defeating Iowa State. I did not have
Saint John's checking out after one win, and I certainly
didn't have Kentucky getting by Illinois. Nor did the final
flawless bracket. Now there are no flawless brackets anywhere in America.
I may be in the top forty five thousand, but
(04:41):
I have three holes in my Swix Sweet sixteen que
the basketball music, Auburn didn't have a lot of drama
with Creighton eighty two seventy Michigan ninety one seventy nine.
They had their hands full with Texas A and M
and trailed from A to that game pulled away at
the end. So there's one Sweet sixteen matchup five seed
(05:05):
Michigan number one seed Auburn. Just as I saw it happening,
I did not see All Miss winning easily over Iowa
State ninety one seventy eight. They'll take on Michigan State,
who I did have advancing to the Sweet sixteen. That's
Michigan State, a two seed versus a six ole miss Arkansas.
Could this be?
Speaker 4 (05:22):
This is the Cinderella A hog?
Speaker 5 (05:24):
Oh please oink oink seventy five sixty six, say knocked
out Saint John's.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
We haven't heard from Big John yet. We believe he's
on the balcony of the fifth floor of the Your
Morning Show sportsbook threatening to jump.
Speaker 4 (05:36):
Don't jump, John.
Speaker 1 (05:38):
They'll be taking on Texas Tech, who got past Drake
by thirteen seventy seven to sixty four. So you have
a three seed Texas Tech against the Cinderella Arkansas, A
ten seed Maryland seventy two seventy one. The same freshman
I was bad mouthing the whole game.
Speaker 4 (05:55):
Get him off the court. He's killing here.
Speaker 1 (05:59):
With three seconds left, they inbound after what looked like
a game winning three for Colorado's date. Two steps maybe
three banks it off the glass, theo kiss off the
glass in Maryland advances against Florida, the number one seed
Florida Maryland to four seed, and Duke beat Baylor eighty
nine to sixty six. They'll take on Arizona, which, if
(06:21):
you fell asleep, won by four over Oregon. Late last night,
Wisconsin lost to b y you by two. They advanced
a sixth seed to take on Alabama, who beat Saint
Mary's eighty sixty six. That's a two versus six. Illinois
fell to Kentucky, took down a lot of brackets with it.
Tennessee very impressive against a good UCLA sixty seven fifty eight.
(06:44):
That's a two versus three Kentucky and the Tennessee balls.
And the final pairing is your four seed per New
boiler Makers against the one seed Houston Cougars, and that's
your Sweet sixteen. Probably the only that I did that
for those that were watching, was a scene that took
place at the College Wrestling National Championship, and I remember
(07:08):
thinking to myself, I think it was Friday. We were
joking around with Friday with forty seven, Why is he
taking Klay Travison not me to the wrestling match? And
then but deep down what I was thinking is why
is Donald Trump going to a wrestling match? Life is
best understood looking backwards, unfortunately, must be lived looking forward.
(07:31):
What ends up being one of the greatest upsets in
all of college sports and one of the greatest citizen
presidential moments ever, would never have happened if Donald Trump
had had the foresight to go to it. Gable Steveson,
Olympic champion, stunned when Wyatt Hendrickson from Oklahoma State University
(07:56):
shocked him and the world, and it sounded like this,
people look at.
Speaker 6 (08:02):
SAMs this goodrig. Oh my god, this com tegis upstick
got to history.
Speaker 4 (08:09):
That's got this.
Speaker 7 (08:11):
Yes, well, yet that's a big cannass. Oh my god, big,
(08:40):
that's crazy.
Speaker 1 (08:42):
You know. I got an all honesty, I got admit.
I did not watch this live. In fact, my first
sight of it was on Twitter when I'm seeing this
Oklahoma State University wrestler like saluting the president. I had
no idea it was, you know, the super heavyweight the
match defeating the Olympic champion. When I did go back
(09:05):
and actually watch it, I had, you know, because we
say miracle on the map and that's a reference to
the miracle on ice. It had that feeling, didn't it.
When when the if you not not the Disney movie,
go back and watch the real video, the real al Michaels, do.
Speaker 4 (09:19):
You believe in miracles?
Speaker 1 (09:20):
Yes? And all of the Soviet hockey players at first
just standing stunned on the ice couldn't believe it happened.
And that wasn't for the gold medal that was to
get to the gold medal round that they would go
on to win, but the Soviet Union had just beat
them moves at ten to three at Madison Square Garden
before the Olympics. I mean, nobody expected this. So the
(09:41):
first few moments they're just stunned, standing still on the ice.
I mean, so you have two worlds going on. The
crowd in Lake Plastic going crazy, the American players with
flags jumping on each other, and then the stun Soviet
players just standing there on the ice like they couldn't
believe what just happened. And then eventually Disney kind of
(10:03):
over portrayed it, but not by much. You kind of
get a sense that they're like, you know what, we'd
have won, and it had just been another day, It
would have just been Saturday. There was something human about
watching someone else have a moment like that that could
only mean that much if you're that great. So I
mean it was just a a weird psychology in the
(10:25):
air on the ice in Lake Placid and this weekend
in this championship, and you can see that in Gable Steveson.
You know, first you could tell he's genuinely stunned, and
then he starts watching all of this unfold. I mean,
it's easy to call it the miracle on the mat,
but it really the similarities to the Miracle on Ice
(10:47):
I thought were palatable. So that's nothing compared to when
he eventually things calm down, walks across the mat, points
right at the President of the United States, and as
only a second lieutenant can, gives him the salute. I mean,
what a perfect American moment, Captain, the American Trump's given
(11:12):
the fists back.
Speaker 3 (11:15):
He did it.
Speaker 4 (11:16):
He shut up, Shut up, everybody, shut up.
Speaker 1 (11:23):
I don't know what I like better the car just
because eventually, you know, I mean most people would just
play the role of the minimalist and say nothing and
let the moment, you know, have its time. But I
thought that was even better. Just shut up, shut the
sensory overlord. He couldn't take any more. I mean, that
was right up there with what I think was the
transitioning of the announcer. He literally goes from a man
(11:45):
in transitions in the middle of this call, which I
thought was brilliant play. Here comes he then, of course,
Rudd gets the line of the day. Now, we can't
have Disney make this movie.
Speaker 4 (12:05):
They'll ruin it.
Speaker 1 (12:06):
They'll make it Miracle on Matt instead of Miracle on
the Matt. No, no, no, this needs to be done
by an independent film company. That was just absolutely unbelievable
that the crowd was huge. It was not just an
Oklahoma State university but congratulations still Water, not just a
Wyatt Hendrickson congratulations. Well, that was an American moment and
a sports moment to be remembered for a long time.
(12:29):
One of the biggest upsets on The Matt. Ever, it's
your morning show with Michael Delchno.
Speaker 4 (12:36):
We do something fun.
Speaker 1 (12:38):
We can't have your morning show without your voice. We
were very concerned about Big John, and it's good to see.
If you're listening on the iHeartRadio AP there's a microphone.
Press it. I'll count you down three two one, give
you thirty seconds to ask a question, make a comment,
make your voice heard on your morning show. Here at
America's kitchen table. We've all been very concerned about Big
John at the sports book after the Big Saint John's
(12:58):
loss and he checks in a Big John's got no words.
I'm not jumping.
Speaker 3 (13:04):
But I got no words for you.
Speaker 4 (13:05):
Just step away from the We're here for you, John.
Speaker 1 (13:09):
He may never bet again. Was it twenty six percent
or twenty eight percent shooting? Whatever it was. You can't
win if you can't shoot. I want to do something
fun if I can for a second. You know, we
were talking about something fun. Only one time per day?
Can we do so?
Speaker 6 (13:22):
No?
Speaker 1 (13:22):
But I mean Wyatt Hendrickson's issue victory in the National Championship.
I mean, listen to this call. This guy literally goes
through a transition from man to whatever in his voice.
Listen the announcer the.
Speaker 7 (13:34):
Dream, let's.
Speaker 6 (13:42):
Stop, biggest outset, got.
Speaker 1 (13:46):
This, that's the miracle on the mat. Yes, call, Let's
go to the Music City Miracle. And Mike Keith play
by play announcer, you.
Speaker 4 (13:57):
Were running the board for this.
Speaker 3 (13:58):
I was.
Speaker 1 (13:59):
I was right behind the and my son's principal, I
call him Doctor Dyson.
Speaker 4 (14:03):
At the time, he was just Kevin Dison out of Utah.
Speaker 1 (14:06):
But here's how that unfolded.
Speaker 3 (14:07):
You're gonna be fielded by Lorenzo and you l at
the twenty five get youse.
Speaker 4 (14:11):
It back to why check? He throws it across the
field of dice, he's got something.
Speaker 3 (14:15):
He's got something, fifty he's got it.
Speaker 8 (14:17):
He's got it, Hoddy, he's got it.
Speaker 6 (14:21):
And cuts doc tis there are no what's on the field.
Speaker 1 (14:28):
It's a miracle.
Speaker 6 (14:31):
Looks this go to stock take us upset, good to history.
Speaker 4 (14:39):
Got this kid, I'm gonna call it a tie. I'm
going with time.
Speaker 1 (14:48):
I go to the Antler. All right, if you're just
waking up. President Trump's special envoy to the Middle East
says negotiators are making great progress towards the ceasefire between
Russia and Ukraine.
Speaker 8 (14:58):
Steve Winkoff told Funk This New Sunday that a seasfire
on the Black Sea could be coming soon.
Speaker 9 (15:03):
I think that you're going to see in Saudi Arabia
on Monday some real progress, particularly as it affects a
Black Sea ceasefire on ships.
Speaker 8 (15:14):
He went on to say that from there a full
seasfire should be coming soon. With Kauf insisted his main
goal is to end the conflict and stop the killing,
going on to criticize the Biden administration for its refusal
to negotiate with the Russian President Vladimir Putin. I'm Mark Mayfield,
speaking of miracles. The Pope is back at the Vatican.
Speaker 10 (15:31):
The eighty eight year old Pope made a brief appearance
for the first time in more than five weeks, waving
from the hospital balcony in Rome. The Pope smiled and
greeted the cheering crowds and said thank you all before
being taken back inside. Minutes later, he could be seen
waving from the backseat of a car as a convoy
left the hospital for a short trip back to the Vatican.
The Pope had been hospitalized since February fourteenth with double pneumonia.
Speaker 1 (15:53):
I'm chammaged for he and the Sweet sixteen is set Michigan, Auburn,
All Miss Michigan State, Arkansas Tech, SIS Tech, Florida, Maryland,
Duke Arizona BYU Alabama, Perdue Houston and the Tennessee Valls
will take on Kentucky. That's your Sweet sixteen.
Speaker 11 (16:12):
Hi.
Speaker 12 (16:12):
I'm Keith Andrews and Mobile Alabama.
Speaker 1 (16:15):
And my morning show is your Morning Show with Michael
del Jarna. Hi, I'm Michael. I'd love to have you
listen to your morning show live every day. We're heard
on great stations like News Talk five point fifty k
f YI and Phoenix News Radio. Eleven ninety k Ex
in Portland and ten ninety The Patriot in Seattle. Make
(16:37):
us a part of your morning routine. We'd love to
have you listen live, but in the meantime, enjoy the podcast.
It's Monday, March, the twenty fourth sent of Minority Leader
Chucky Schumer says, I will not step down. Although what
did I just get through saying I should have lost consciousness?
It should have been an oaster Dell journal. I said
you better get used to AOC if you don't think
(16:57):
AOC can make a run for the president. See, you
don't understand the civil war. The Democrat Party is in
and she is the heir apparent of Bernie Sanders.
Speaker 4 (17:08):
Oh girl, baby girl, No, she means it. Don't even play.
Speaker 1 (17:13):
And remember the Justice Democrats, the socialist far left squad
portion of the party. They don't target Republicans, they target Democrats.
AOC beat a ten term Democrat in New York State,
and now Bernie is parading her around as the retaliatory
strike to take out Chuckie Schumer in the Senate and
(17:35):
potentially turn it right around like Barack Obama and sixty
days later start her run for the presidency. Of the
United States. I'm interesting to watch that one and talk
about miracles. Who'd have thought this was possible? Four weeks ago,
two weeks ago, Pope Francis back at the Vatican, still
has two months of rest ahead, but released from the
hospital on Sunday, and President Trump' special envoy to the
Middle East says negotiators are making progress towards the ceasefire
(17:57):
between Russia and Ukraine. And why on earth is Bill
Maher headed to the White House? Well, that would be
a good question to ask a White House correspondent of
eight presidents and this one. John Decker, good morning, Hey.
Speaker 3 (18:10):
Good morning to you. Michael.
Speaker 1 (18:12):
Hope you're doing well today. It had a great weekend.
Speaker 4 (18:14):
I did.
Speaker 1 (18:14):
And then I'm thinking, I hope Bill Maher is not
bringing the tequila and marijuana with him for this meeting.
Speaker 3 (18:21):
Nobody's bringing Kid Rock with him. He revealed this in
a podcast over the weekend. He is going to be
having dinner at the White House with the President along
with Kid Rock, and I guess an opportunity to break
some bread. The President has been the butt of some
of Bill Jar's Bill Marsh jokes over the years, and
I guess it's an opportunity to maybe a press reset
(18:44):
on that relationship, and we'll see if that has any
impact at all in terms of what Bill Maher says
on his show on HBO every week.
Speaker 1 (18:51):
You know, for an atheist, he's spending a lot of
time discussing faith with people of faith. For a far
left liberal, he's spending an awful lot of time with
people working for this administration. Somewhere, this party of Bill
Mahrs has gone so far left. I think he's kind
of a free agent. And when he had Elon Muskin,
he thought the world of Elon. Can you imagine after
(19:12):
a dinner with the president? Well, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (19:16):
We'll have to wait and see what comes out of it.
Speaker 11 (19:18):
You know, he's a.
Speaker 3 (19:18):
Comedian, let's face it, and comedians are always looking for material.
Perhaps he gets some material out of this dinner that
he has with President Trump. But you know, to your point,
I think that this is an opportunity to reach out
in a way that we see liberal Democrats not trying
to reach out, trying to find the middle ground. That
(19:38):
you know, in terms of legislation, in terms of public policy,
they are all in in terms of opposing just about
everything that President Trump proposes as it relates to his
first nine weeks in office.
Speaker 1 (19:50):
I was going over in Axio's story on the interviews
with Democrats, and you get ten different reasons as to
why they lost. They can't quite figure out yet that
it's all above or maybe even worse worldview, platform and
policy view. But you know, in the case of this,
how much do you think people underestimate the charm of
(20:12):
Donald Trump and how this meeting, for whatever reason, could
become Because I mean, what do we say one of
the things that Democrats didn't do, they didn't embrace Joe
Rogan and podcasting. What is Bill Maher? I'll ask you,
because he's mainly an HBO show, which would die with
network television, but he's got a podcast too that reaches
(20:32):
a lot of people. Something tells me the president still
knows how to play this.
Speaker 11 (20:37):
He does.
Speaker 3 (20:38):
And you know President Trump did this during the campaign.
He reached out to audiences that were sometimes ignored by politicians.
Speaker 2 (20:45):
And you know, I think it helped him.
Speaker 3 (20:48):
The President believes it helps him in terms of reaching
out to those individuals.
Speaker 1 (20:52):
But you know, what is Bill Maher?
Speaker 2 (20:54):
I don't think you can put him.
Speaker 3 (20:55):
In any particular box, and that's the reason for his
longevity as an entertainer. You know, I think he would
acknowledge that if you put someone in a particular box,
you end up like someone like Bill Oberman, you know,
who's you know, not on television anymore. And you know,
with with Bill Maher, he reinvents himself. And I think
(21:16):
that's obviously a good thing for his career, and it's
a good thing for audience that it's because you just
don't get the predictable with him, and that's why people
tune in to watch to see what he says and
to hear his guests as well.
Speaker 1 (21:28):
To your point, I haven't thought of Keith Oberman, and
I don't know how many years final thoughts on this
Bill Maher. You said he could be going it'll be
good material. How much do you think Bill Maher really
is curious on it? Because he thinks he does fancy
himself as calling balls and strikes, meaning he's tough on
(21:49):
the Democrats when they're stupid, he's tough on Republicans when
they're stupid. I don't think he's on a Trump train.
He seems to be on the Musk train. I mean,
this could be a very interesting meeting or could just
be a yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3 (22:01):
I would love to be a fly on the wall.
But you know, as you point out, Trump is someone
who uh can can reach out. He can reach out
to the other side. I've seen it so many times.
Speaker 1 (22:13):
He is charming.
Speaker 3 (22:14):
As you point out, you know, what you see is
what you get with President Trump. You know, I've I've
seen him in private, and it's the same person in private,
is the same person that you see when he addresses
you know, sometimes thousands upon thousands of people at a
campaign rally.
Speaker 1 (22:29):
The first president when I was in talk radio was H. W. Bush.
So I don't know, I've covered about as many presidents
as you and and and I would have if you
just sat me down on Friday, I just said, I
have no idea why the president is going to a
wrest wrestling national championship. Oh my gosh, that actually got yeah.
But I mean it ended up being just a magical moment.
(22:51):
I mean, how do they get how do they know
where to be when when magic happens they seem to
be standing right in the middle of it and become
and then he salutes the present is only a second
Lieutenant cannif for one of the greatest deubsence, you know,
since the miracle on night. I would have never even
sent him there, and he just knows where to be.
This guy has an uncannyability to see the future in
(23:12):
some way that I don't. But that was a magical moment.
Speaker 3 (23:16):
Yeah, no, absolutely. You know I saw that that he
was traveling to Philadelphia for the NCAA Wrestling Championships. You
scratch your head, why go there? And now you see
why he went there.
Speaker 1 (23:28):
And I believe next.
Speaker 3 (23:29):
Week he'll be a doubt at his golf club in
Miami's for a live golf event, and you know, obviously
there he's going to be I think, greeted in the
same manner that he was greeted in Philadelphia over the weekend.
Speaker 1 (23:41):
He's he's closing in on becoming one of the most
popular presidents ever, and that was evident over the weekend.
All right, John Decker, great reporting as always. We'll talk
again tomorrow. Great to have you back. I missed you
for two days, if no one else did, all right,
all right, if you're if you're just waking up. I
think this is one of the most telling stories of
the day. Yes, the simple exegete is once again another
(24:04):
example of the art of the deal. This is where
you can't comment on President Trump in real time because
it's always a process playing out and this could be
the way tariffs play out. But keep in mind, Venezuela
wouldn't take any of these detainees back. So what did
(24:25):
the president do? Just started sending them to Al Salvador
chain getting their head shaved and thrown in a prison.
Now all of a sudden, Venezuela and Madua they do
it about face. Now they will allow the illegal migrants
flights to Venezuela. So that's a mission accomplished for Donald Trump.
(24:48):
The quote that really sticks out might be the most
interesting comment coming from the Venezuelan government. Migration is in
a crime, illegally entering the country, committing crimes once you
illegally enter the country, bringing in drugs and carrying out
gang violence is But they g loss over that migration
(25:12):
isn't a crime, and we will not rest until we
achieve the return of all of those in need and
rescue our brothers kidnapped in Al Salvador. Now it's a kidnapping,
and now it's rescuing our brothers. So if you're talking
about the trendy are a agua that that means that
gang is a proxy for the Venezuelan government, just that wording,
(25:40):
and I don't think I'm twisting those words. We will
not rest until we retrieve, we retreat, return all of
those in need of rescue, our brothers kidnapped in Al Salvador.
So if that gang is a proxy of the Venezuelan government,
I don't think you're going to see ABC, NBCCBSCNN, MSNBC
(26:04):
try to continue the narrative that the president was wrong.
I mean, never mind the explanations given by Marco Ruby
and others. If that, if the President of Venezuela doesn't
give you the definition of the seventeen ninety eight Alien
Enemies Act, I don't know who would. And right on cue,
the Trump administration set a flight carrying deportees from the
(26:26):
United States to Venezuelan on Sunday, and the Venezuelan government
accepted it. And now one hundred and ninety nine of
their criminals are back home. Part of the deal. Yes,
very revealing of the Venezuelan government on a particular gang
(26:47):
that seems to be a proxy of their government, revealed
for all to see. And our other big story of
the day was coach Tim having to walk back is
ridiculous celebration of Tesla stocks going down, openly rooting against

He basically said, I was just joking. I was just

I gotta be careful about being a smart A. I

US Attorney General Pam Bondie. Pam Bondie says the Supreme
Court will get involved in the ongoing court battle over
Trump administration's deportation flights. Mark Mayfield has all the details.
Speaker 8 (28:27):
Bondi told Fox News Sunday Morning Futures. The federal judge
who ordered deportation flights stopped is overstepping his authority.
Speaker 4 (28:34):
The Supreme Court will get involved. This is an out
of control Judge.
Speaker 8 (28:39):
Bondie accused the judge of trying to sit US foreign
policy and found that the Trump administration would continue to
fight the judges order in court. The battle stems from
the Trump Administration's decision to deport illegal immigrants it claims
our gang members, even after a ruling by US District
Judge James Bosberg bluncking the deportations.
Speaker 1 (28:57):
I'm Mark Mayfield. Canada's new Prime minister is calling for
a snap election to help him deal with the US
trade war.
Speaker 13 (29:03):
Mark Carney was elected by the Liberal Party earlier this
month to replace Justin Trudeau following his resignation. Carney called
the election for April twenty eight, saying he needs a
strong mandate to respond to Trump administration tariffs and the
threat to the Canadian economy. Speaking on Sunday, the new
Prime Minister said Canada is facing the most significant crisis
(29:24):
of our lifetimes because of President Trump's trade actions and
annexation comments.
Speaker 4 (29:29):
I'm Lisa Carton two.

Sad deaths over the weekend. You tak congressom when Mia
Love has passed away. Love was the first black Republican
woman elected to Congress. She died at her home Sunday
after a battle with brain cancer. She was just forty
nine years old. No cause of death given yet, but
legendary boxer George Foreman has passed away. Jim Forbes takes
a look back at his life.
Speaker 11 (29:49):
His family announced he passed away peacefully on Friday at
the age of seventy six, surrounded by loved ones. Foreman
was a two time heavyweight champion and gold medal election
Olympian who participated in two of the most infamous boxing
matches of all time, the Fight of the Century against
Joe Fraser in nineteen seventy one and the Rumble in
(30:10):
the Jungle against Muhammad Ali in nineteen seventy four. In
their statement, his family said Foreman quote lived a life
marked by unwavering faith, humility, and purpose. No cause of
death was provided, and the family has asked for privacy
at this time.
Speaker 1 (30:27):
I'm Jim Forbes. Well. From a critics standpoint, it was
a great, big flop. From a financial standpoint, not much better.
Disney snow White claims the top spot at the box office,
but not saying too much. The Wolke remake made forty
three million dollars in its debut. A big misfire mafia
dramer The Alto Knights, starring Robert de Niro playing two

five million dollars. Obviously, all of his political commentary is
beginning to effect the turnout for his movies two big bombs.
While gen Z is currently feeling the financial squeeze, they're
on track to be the wealthiest generation by twenty thirty five.
Speaker 12 (31:12):
How you ask, Rob marti A explains. A new report
from Bank of America predicts that gen Z will be
the wealthiest generation in history in the next decade, in
part by making money the old fashioned way by inheriting it.
The two largest drivers in gen Z's economic rise are
wage growth and the Great wealth transfer. It is estimated
(31:32):
by twenty forty five, about eighty four million dollars will
be passed down from seniors and baby boomers to Gen X,
millennials and Gen Z, with gen Z taking thirty eight
percent of that inheritance. I'm Rob Bartier. Today is National
Cocktail Day. Pree Tennis has more.
Speaker 14 (31:49):
It's a whole day for you to think about your
favorite cocktail and then after work order it fruity blend
it on the rocks. Today's your day. A reminder to
be enthusiastic, but not with your order. Although bartenders usually
can pull together most ranks, it's maybe not the time
to test the limits of National Cocktail Day with a
drink called the Commonwealth. It has seventy one ingredients, but

Speaker 4 (32:13):
I'm Bree Tennis.
