we're always grateful you're here.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
Now.
Speaker 1 (00:22):
Enjoy the podcast.
Speaker 2 (00:23):
Well two three starting your morning off right.
Speaker 3 (00:28):
A new way of talk, a new way of understanding
because we're in this together.
Speaker 2 (00:35):
This is your morning show with Michael Dell Charna, Yes
it is. This is Chris Crockett from Michael. He's back tomorrow.
Love being out with you. If you want to follow
me on social media, it's at Chris crock Shows, at
Chris Crocks Show, Cchris Carol. Look at this. If you
want to live comfortably, I don't even know what that means.
(00:55):
We're gonna have to ask Rory here in just a second,
are of course national correspondent Royal Neil during this in
one second, but this new study comes out if you're
earning less than two hundred grand combined, and they're comparing it.
They're saying this for like a family of four, okay,
husband and wife, two kids, if you want to live
comfortably quote unquote again, what does that mean? Who knows
(01:18):
you have to earn two hundred grand or more is
the average? However, of course Massachusetts where they have violent
criminal legals and such running wild and we have to
find them and round them up. The cost of living
is way through the roof. It's way expensive. And look
at this three hundred and thirteen grand to live comfortably. Now,
(01:41):
what I don't buy is look at Mississippi. They say
you have to earn one hundred and eighty six thousand.
Actually round it to what it's the number, one hundred
and eighty seven thousand dollars to live comfortably, Producer rent,
I would think you would be wealthy, You would at
least feel like you're wealthy if you live. I mean,
I would think that Mississippi will love comfortably like eighty grand,
ninety grand? I mean serious? Right, All right, here we go.
(02:05):
Let's talk to the man whom self National correspondent Rory
O'Neil Hi, Rory, Hey Chris, good morning, Good morning brother. Okay,
so this is the story. Earning less than two hundred grand,
your family can afford to live complete in only seven states.
This sounds insane.
Speaker 4 (02:25):
It does well, especially for people who work in radio.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
I get it. But the speak for yourself, that's over.
Speaker 4 (02:34):
Smart asset say, this is the rule of thumb.
Speaker 2 (02:37):
They go by it. That's the fifty to thirty twenty rule.
Speaker 4 (02:40):
Half of your budget covers what you need, the cost
of the housing, the utilities, things like that. Thirty percent
goes towards your wants, and twenty percent goes to debt,
doors for retirement savings or for investing. So under that scenario,
when you break it all down, that's how they come
to this. You go to need three hundred thirteen thousand
(03:02):
in Massachusetts and one hundred and eighty seven grand in Mississippi.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
Okay, So this I mean honestly, if you believe that
between you, just between you and me, do you nobody else,
just between those girls, did you really think to be
able to live comfortably with two kids and a wife
that you would need one hundred and eighty six grand
in Mississippi or one hundred and ninety two grand in Kentucky,
one hundred and ninety four grand in Arkansas, Alabama one
(03:27):
hundred and ninety five. I mean West Virginia one hundred
and ninety five. Do you'd be rich?
Speaker 4 (03:32):
Well, look, there are nice places in West Virginia and
Mississippi that get a little pricey. And I think that's
you know, when you try to average them out and
suddenly it's a it's a home in the Gulf of
America in Mississippi, then you're like, oh, wait a minute.
That throws off what's going on in the middle of
a you know, in the middle of.
Speaker 2 (03:49):
A swamp somewhere. So yeah, it's a pretty swamp over
over that's part of this part I swamp, Yeah, go ahead, Right,
It's a broad range, so I get it.
Speaker 4 (03:59):
But I think it's also this idea that living in
twenty twenty five is expensive because you do want to
put away for your college. The two kids that both
going to college, right, well, that's going to be two
hundred grand per kid, so you know you got to
put away for that. You got to put away for
your retirement as well. And again I think twenty percent
for the retirement savings is low balling it, you know,
(04:22):
when you consider what you should be saving for your retirement.
So it's a you know, yeah, these are sort of
rules of thumb. I get it, and certainly spurs the
discussion about just how expensive it is to raise a
family for today.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
Here's the other thing, Rory. It says to be comfortable,
to live comfortably, and right do they define comfortably because
this is more than comfortably to me, I mean as
far as like I would really feel like you're almost wealthy,
if not at that kind of level in states like
Mississippi and Alabama. Do they define what's comfortable?
Speaker 4 (04:57):
Well, I think in that fifty to thirty twenty rule
when they say that half is for what you need
and twenty percent is for savings and retirement, it's that
thirty percent towards your wants. So this also means that
if you want a vacation, you get one, and if
you want, you know, you know, to splurge, you can.
So you know, that's the number of I think that's
a thirty percent extra in some of these budget numbers
(05:18):
where you say, okay, that's what's getting gets xed out.
Speaker 2 (05:21):
Here's where I would ask them. I'm just so skeptical
of the story. Here's why I would ask them what
square footage is my house with this with this income?
How many bedrooms? How many baths? And I would I'm
gonna just this is all me, guests and speculating here,
but I'm going to guess should be a four thousand
square foot house, five bedrooms and three bathrooms or something.
It's just anyways, that's my thoughts, my thoughts, just my
(05:44):
little thoughts over here. But they do this every year.
Speaker 4 (05:48):
Go check It's called smart asset is to study, and yeah,
go check it out and see all the details.
Speaker 2 (05:53):
I almost thought you were calling me a smart ass
set at first, but you want using Maybe I pronounced it.
Maybe I did pronounce that wrong. Chris, Hey, thank you, Rory.
We'll talk to you again shortly. Appreciate you, sir. All right,
there he goes. I was I literally wanted he had
to go because the other are tight schedules. But I
(06:13):
wanted to ask him if you had heard about the
congresswoman Democrat who said, if if the illegals aren't here,
who's gonna wipe our You know what? Literally she she
thinks of like nurse jill or not a doctor Jill.
She she says, hello, my top breakfast tacos. Uh this
(06:35):
rep from uh. I think the Northeast congresswoman said, uh, hello,
my my A word wipes. I mean that's that's that's,
that's it. I wanted to ask him about that. She
worked that one in there about them when I we
we we covered that earlier. Maybe we'll get back into that.
But we also have binder. kJ P says, I am
(06:55):
I've left the Democrat Party. She I call her bag
dad bob att and it's just unbelievable. We're going to
go back to that in a second. I want to
do we guess some folks who have talked back to
us in the talkback button and have a lot of
good stuff to say and share. I love hearing from you.
(07:16):
If you want to chime in as well, just go
to of course, go to the on the iHeart app,
cook that talkback button on the iHeart streaming, click the
microphone icon. Now let's hear from Roger at KSTE.
Speaker 5 (07:30):
I completely agree with the method that they're getting these
twenty two hundred a day, but to get more, you
have to get rid of the incentives. They were brought
here with incentives take those incentives away and then have
a system where they easily can go get a ride
back home, and I will, as a taxpayer, give them
(07:51):
that ride home.
Speaker 2 (07:52):
So he's talking about the illegals getting deported. How Trump
had his greatest highest number not only for himself but
in the world, the world, in the country, this country,
our country, USA has never had twenty two hundred arrests
of illegals in one day. So you know, and you
rightfully settled earlier, Jeff Or was it read that there's
(08:13):
no way it was read, There's no way he's going
to get ten to twenty million people with those numbers.
It was read. But here's the thing. He said to
be like eight hundred some one thousand a year. Who
he knew, who knew he could math or any of
us could math. It's radio right, it is brain surgery.
But nonetheless it's not math. But uh, he's doing he's
(08:36):
smashing a record, so he certainly is doing everything he
can and wanted to also let Roger know that indeed
Trump has already done that. He is offering illegals who
want to self deport He'll pay them a thousand dollars
check of our money, which I support and pay for
their flight home. I love that idea and I also
like it. So there we go. So Roger, we are
(08:58):
doing that. Here's Matt at w.
Speaker 3 (09:02):
Hey, Chris, this is Matt. I just had to say
I was listening earlier and you had used the term
eternal dirt nap for the terrace.
Speaker 2 (09:14):
I just never heard that before. I thought that was
pretty good. Thank you, conly, sir. I usually say dirt nap,
but when I think of a radical Islamist who thinks
wrongly that they're going to eternal bliss, I kind of
headed the eternal dirt nap, But normally would you say
a dirt nap. I love it when Hamask gets dirt naps.
Love that all the time. So thank you. Had tip
(09:36):
to you, Matt. Let's go a bill at WHNZ. Good morning, Chris.
Speaker 6 (09:41):
As far as the war in the Ukraine, we should
tell Putin do what you will do. Tell Zelenski best
of luck.
Speaker 2 (09:49):
Trump should get out of it. It's not his war.
Speaker 6 (09:52):
We could give each person in the United States ten
thousand dollars stimulus, and that would only be three trillion dollars,
a lot less than we've already spent.
Speaker 2 (10:02):
You know, it's interesting. I'm sure we all agree that
when Ukraine does a hit like they did the other
day on those warplanes. I mean, can we all agree
that it's it's good, it's great they do that, right?
I mean, are we all for Ukraine winning? Not that
we're going to fund it. I'm just saying I don't
want to fund it. I'm done as well. Okay, but
(10:24):
I do get excited when they make some good hits
on Russia. But they're not going to win. They're losing.
They have been losing for a long time. Trump just
pulled this came out yesterday in the evening. I believe
Trump just pulled what they call fuse fuses. And I
don't know why it's called that, but but the fuses
are technology and the material and technology to shoot down drones.
(10:50):
And he just said to what's the name of Zelensky
yesterday Tanya Ramage, Tanya Image. You know that's how he talks,
is uh. He just had to Doelenski yesterday. He said,
we're taking back our fuses. Now, we're taking back the
technology that we have as anti drone technology because we
(11:12):
need it. I agree. And he also continues to tell
Europe and not tell him, but make them. You are
going to fund this war, you are going to supply
the weapon. You are right there. We are not covering
your I'd say about the Europeans the way they roll.
If fat piggy fingers reaching into our wallets, you say
(11:34):
it's existential, you say Putin's gonna go into your country next,
then you step up. We're sick of being your daddy
and your mommy, right, So I agree with that. I
have no problem with us sharing intelligence and helping them
in any way we can, but not monitoring weapon. We
literally are like on a seven year back order. Last
(11:56):
time I heard on stingers and what's the the one
guy's javelins. Javelins and stingers they take years to make
because the parts aren't there. I cannot believe the life.
It enrages me to think that we may not have
enough javelins or stingers, which are extremely important, or on
the precipice of a war that could break out with China,
(12:17):
one of the precipice of a war that could break
out in the Middle East, and we're letting this. I
gotta tell you, the longer we sit and prop up Zelensky,
the longer he's He and putting are both at this
time and have been for a long time, because both
of them are like two spoiled little kids. And it
almost feels like if Trump withdraws his hand, that one
of these little kids can go oh crap and say, okay,
(12:41):
well you know what I mean. Zelensky has been arrogant, uh,
disloyal and a punk. And you really got to see
how much of a punk and disloyal and a child
he is in February when he went to the White
House and insulted us, our country and our president. Man
that and I'm glad Trump said get out of here's
supposed to have lunch to get out of my house.
(13:01):
Get out of our house.
Speaker 1 (13:03):
Right, It's your Morning Show with Michael del Johno.
Speaker 2 (13:08):
Chris krock In, the great Michael del Gano, a good
good friend of mine for many years. Hey, did you
guys see the cringe, cringe, insane, vile video of Megan
Merkle with looks like a fake baby, it looks like
she's got a pillow stuff done her and she's dancing.
It's the most cringe thing that is real. And I'm
(13:28):
gonna tell you right now. They just released it. Like, oh,
the people that say they want their privacy and they're
all this and that she's like, oh, jesus Us from
like four years ago whatever it was, she had the kid,
and and it's it seriously looks like she has a
pillow folded and half stuffed under her dress. This woman.
But if you look at the dance or the daunts,
as I would like to say, this woman is, I
(13:50):
can't describe the level of cringe. I mean, it makes
me want to throw It makes me throw up in
my mouth almost. It's that bad.
Speaker 3 (13:59):
Exactly what I was talking about Chris yesterday, about the
track and field stuff, about it's all about these people's
social media. They're narcissism and their brand.
Speaker 2 (14:07):
That was spot on red. That was brilliant. I used that.
I'm also filling them for a green station on sand
and San Antone this week, and I used your line.
I stole your line, sir. By the way, you have
this Democrat Rep. Ruldier that I played for you. Uh,
Can I play that again, guys? Or I guess I'm
just gonna have to do it. I have to play
this again. This this fool democrat says we need illegals
(14:31):
to come into our country. Uh and sit here because
who else is going to wipe our bums? I'm not
kidding you, She says that where is it? I have
it right here? The wrong one. Sorry about here.
Speaker 3 (14:45):
Is of course.
Speaker 7 (14:49):
We have to come to a place in Congress where
it is no a political.
Speaker 8 (14:56):
Issue, but we see it ass essential issue.
Speaker 3 (15:01):
From the country.
Speaker 2 (15:03):
If we don't have all of.
Speaker 9 (15:06):
Us for people to come here leedally to work when
the mills are home here, I'm gonna.
Speaker 10 (15:11):
Be truth right now.
Speaker 3 (15:12):
We're not gonna have anybody around and wipe Oarassis because
we don't have another people.
Speaker 2 (15:18):
What excuse me? Wait?
Speaker 8 (15:20):
What?
Speaker 2 (15:21):
So there is a there is a you know an
ai you can make a fake billboard and I haven't
retweeted on my twitter feed at Chris cross so C
Hris k okay, C Hris k okay come to America
to wipe our a words It says, it's a billboard.
Welcome to America. Please what you know what.
Speaker 4 (15:40):
This is Steve the Wrestler, a refugee from the People's
Republic of Minnesota.
Speaker 2 (15:45):
And my morning show is your morning show with Michael deljo.
Speaker 1 (15:49):
Or no, Hi, it's me Michael. Your morning show can
be heard on great stations across the country like Talk
Radio eleven ninety and Alice sport Worth, Freedom one oh
four point seven in Washington, DC and five point fifty
k FYI and Phoenix, Arizona. We'd love to be a
part of your morning routine or take us along on
the drive to work. But as we always say, better
(16:11):
late than never enjoyed the podcast.
Speaker 2 (16:14):
Let's hear from Kathy. But by the way, you know
I was talking about Nurse Chill a little earlier. Membership.
Good mind, Hello, my breakfast tacos to the San Antonio
Hispanic crowd. Prucer Jeff, did you pull that? Remember you
were saying, yeah, I got it, you got it. Hello,
Good morning Joe, Joe. You answered all the questions. Good morning,
(16:40):
my breakfast tacos.
Speaker 8 (16:42):
Mammy, and as unique as the breakfast tacos here in
San Antonio.
Speaker 2 (16:49):
You are all my breakfast taquitos. Look at the little
taqito running around with his mommy. Do you want to
give Nurse Jilli a All right, let's hear from Kathy
in Maryland.
Speaker 10 (17:08):
I am highly offended every time you refer to doctor
Jill as nurse Jill, because I am a nurse I
am highly trained, highly skilled, and it's insulting to both
real doctors and nurses when she gets referred to as
either doctor Jill or when you slur her and call
her nurse Jill.
Speaker 2 (17:29):
Thanks, have a great day. I would like to apologize, Kathy.
Perhaps how about nurse practitioner Jill? Would that work? Or
how about you know, pruser ever saying that I'd be
a little so I thought, how about phlebotomist Jill would
(17:50):
Why are you laughing? I'm trying to know. She's a
she ad ministered the COVID shot program. I mean she
is a medical expert. I'm kind he does full time care.
Speaker 3 (18:03):
In all honesty, it's a slur to everybody in the
medical profession. That's just colored Jill.
Speaker 2 (18:08):
No, I prefer to call her. If we have to
do it that way, then I'm a caller and not
a doctor Jill.
Speaker 3 (18:13):
Not a doctor Jill.
Speaker 2 (18:14):
That's good, okay, uh And now we have this is great.
The stupid, stupid study that came out today that says, oh,
if you want to live in Mississippi and be comfortable
or Alabama, it's like, you see, you gotta earn like
two hundred grand or heart and ninety six grand, to
which I said, what is that? If you it's comfortable,
meaning you have a freaking mansion with five bedrooms, six
(18:36):
bedrooms and three bathrooms and a tennis court. What is
this the stupid study that came out today. Let's hear
though from straight from the horse's mouth. It's a it's anonymous,
anonymous in Biloxi, Mississippi. Go one thousand dollars in Mississippi.
I would be considered a millionaire. I think got cut off.
(18:58):
So somebody, he said, if I was making two or
there was in the year, be considered a miliar. That's
exactly what I was saying. These stupid people that make
these stupid studies, right and tell us what we need
to be comfortable. Okay. Let's also hear, oh wait, we
have somebody from w BUV right, or is that the
gentleman's hemospore, I apologize gentlemen. Okay. Let's hear Greta Tunberg
(19:26):
who says climate change, climate change is real. Okay, it's
happening everywhere. We're all gonna die. Greta Thunberg, this is
the funniest I saw. I was laughing so hard. She's
in a flotilla heading towards Rasa, and here she is
in some news program. This is the best thing in
(19:46):
the world.
Speaker 11 (19:48):
We're speaking to you from the United States.
Speaker 2 (19:51):
Oh, by the way, hold on, she is Adia and
now Israel. The Israeli choppers are flying above them, monitoring them,
and they've also said there's no way in h that
you're going to be hitting gaz You ain't going near there,
to which Red also said, we can't even put a
peer up there without our people getting severely injured or
die dying. I think then we lose one life of
(20:13):
one of our soldiers. Joe Biden's grand incompetence just another
signature issue for him. Hey, let's spend one hundred two
hundre million whatever it costs for a floating pier that
doesn't work. It can't work because of how it is
right there, and we'll just we'll waste the money, We'll
hurt our soldiers, in fact, one of the will die.
But you know what, anything to virtue signal and to
kiss the rumps of terrorists.
Speaker 11 (20:31):
Here we go you from the United States, where the
South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham wrote on X Hope Greta
and her friends can swim.
Speaker 2 (20:43):
Your response, we can't swim very well. I want to
see her swim. I want to see your swim. Come on, baby,
swim for Graza.
Speaker 9 (20:57):
It says a lot about their priority. Is that in
the face of genocide and systematic starvation of two million people,
lawmakers elected official response should be to serve the people
and to protect the people that they rather splicity in genocide?
Speaker 2 (21:20):
Was she talking to and not a rob? I'm sorry
about that. Okay, we also had something. Oh yeah yeah,
KJP bag Dad Bob at grin jump here now claims
that she left the Democrat Party. Shocker. She has a
book to cash in and she's like Jake Tapper. She's
(21:40):
even worse. She covered up and lied to us. Joe
Biden incredible. He runs laps around me in reverse on
a hand I'm doing handstands. He hops on one hand
doing handstands. He runs in reverse on his rump with
his cheeks, running in reverse on his rump, cheek faster
(22:00):
than me. It's amazing. Uh. KJP has a new book
talking about she's independent, claiming she is, and we have
unconfirmed reports that the book comes with a binder. It's
like shrink wrapped onto a binder, and the binder has
each chapter. It's got a real little simple cuple of
(22:21):
bullet points for each chapter. Okay, when she was doing
this little interview, I think she referring to talking through
to the people with her binder. Listen to her, though
this is the most it's a tough competition to see
who's more vapid and more idiot like her? Or let's
(22:45):
the Oh what I'm thinking about? Guys, help me out? Oh,
kamala cackling, kamala. Wait, let's see here? Where is here go?
Speaker 8 (22:57):
I think we need to stop thinking in boxes and
think outside of our boxes.
Speaker 2 (23:03):
Oh wow, this is pretty deep and not be sold partisan.
Speaker 7 (23:09):
An upcoming book by former White House Press Secretary of
Kareine Jean Pierre reveals she is no longer a member
of the Democratic Party. Jean Pierre's book.
Speaker 2 (23:17):
She's no longer remember the Democrat Party because her boss.
She covered up for her boss for four years, and
she's busted.
Speaker 7 (23:23):
Ended A look inside a broken White House Outside the
Party lines details how the former spokesperson for the Biden
administration quote didn't come to her decision to be an
independent lightly the number.
Speaker 2 (23:34):
One question they asked me, is Kareem, how do we
get out of this? I can't listen to this anymore?
Do you guys agree? I mean, I do care about this.
Do you think anybody can about her book? I'm hearing
that Jake Tapper's book is a flop, total flop. Like
it isn't like the sales are not good, They're an emic.
His ratings also crashed in the past month or two
(23:55):
with the book coming up. They crashed. He lost like
twenty seven percent of audience or more. It's like the
lowest ratings that he's had I think in like ten
years or something like that. I think people want to
learn this the CD details, but they don't want to
read any of these books because they know these people
all lied and cover it all up. Anyways, But this,
this is, this is remarkable. She is coming across even
(24:18):
more vapid and and dense than she did when she
was a bad dad by that for Joe Biden, yes.
Speaker 3 (24:24):
Right, so people need to be less partisan. She couldn't
feel that way when she was the Press secretary. Couldn't
she have just resigned instead of Is she felt this way?
Speaker 2 (24:39):
No, because for the year before she but Joe Biden
got kicked out that last year. She was cseeing her
publicist for the book Unofficial Documents, and the White House
people said, no, you can't do this. What are you doing?
You're you're ceaseeing official White House correspondence to your publicist. No,
she couldn't leave because she needed that year to put
(24:59):
the book together, to be a hero after she was
lying to us for four years? Does that make sense?
But who's going to read it?
Speaker 3 (25:07):
The left hates her and the right already knows.
Speaker 2 (25:09):
I I fell asleep during that short little segment I
played there of her talking. It's a it's a tough
call between who put me to sleep faster Greth Tunberg
in hertha or bind her? Yeah, this is this? This, Oh,
all all the people, Jeff Something's here. All the people
(25:35):
from UH that work with Karne, John Pierre, O KGP,
all the people beneath beneath her, blow her, under her
at the White House that worked underneath her. They are
all openly attacking her and picking on her and slamming
her for doing all this with their names on here.
They're not sources. They're actually like, I'm so and so
I worked under her at her office and this is
(25:57):
the this woman is blank and blank and blank. For example, Well,
here's some of the things people are saying in here.
According to two of her former officials, two former officials,
TGP had been hoping for a post White House job
as a co host on a on the View. She
was hoping to be a view coast. She would fit
(26:20):
right in. She she wouldn't be the brightest person at
the table. She might be the least brightest. But she
was fitting, wouldn't she. But she couldn't be an independent.
I think she's like, I couldn't get the views. Now
pretend I'm an independent and make a book up.
Speaker 3 (26:34):
That would really be a hard choice to be. Who
was the least intelligent on the view?
Speaker 2 (26:39):
Yeah, well, she definitely would be the most attractive on
the view. I mean, she'd be the only one that
would be remotely attractive on the view. I like to
call them the hens, the hens on the view. Okay, So,
and here's some other people. This is the most here's
another one of the Democrat people. This is the most
grifty thing I've seen in the long time. And that's
(27:00):
saying something to Washington. Anyway, there you go for her
on that book. Coming up next. We got a couple
of things. Okay, two things. Number one, I want to
say that coming up in the next hour, in fifteen minutes,
you must hear this. And I don't even know if
Red or Jeff has heard this story today or you.
(27:21):
A woman, elderly woman. He's at a park and a
Scottish guy who came here years ago, Scottish American in Houston.
He's at a park and he's blown his bagpipes. This
lady comes up to him and starts yelling at him
in his face, recording it, putting a light on his face,
and then says, my husband is a judge, a federal judge,
(27:43):
and he's coming for you because he wouldn't stop playing
the bagpipes. He's trying to please us in jam's bagpipes
in the middle of a public park, and it became violent,
this woman and her alleged federal judge husband. Actually he is.
You're gonna hear the audio coverage of this assault for
playing the bag pines.
Speaker 1 (28:03):
This is your Morning Show with Michael del Chno.
Speaker 2 (28:07):
John Deckner, White House correspondent who will be part of
the media pool at covering the visitors today of the
German Chancellor to the White House, John, Good to have
you back on, sir, Hey, good to be with you.
That's right.
Speaker 8 (28:21):
Friedrich Mertz is coming to the White House today, the
first meeting that he's going to be having with President Trump.
So many big issues on the agenda for this first meeting,
certainly security issues, as you know, the US has a
significant military presidence in Germany. In addition to that, certainly
the war in Ukraine, and always talking about trade because
(28:45):
of the President's trade tariffs policy. So those will be
the top items on the agenda for their discussion that
takes place in just a few hours.
Speaker 2 (28:54):
So another interesting thing with Germany that I wanted to
hit on with you, sir, is that they are I
was just quote the Wall Street Journal editorial today Germany's
Mertz or mers turns against Israel, and he promised to
really back him tremendously all the way through, and now
he seems to be abandoning them. Is that going to
be part of the conversations today, you think, Well, you.
Speaker 8 (29:17):
Know, when the President has.
Speaker 2 (29:19):
With him when he meets with.
Speaker 8 (29:20):
Any foreign leader for these bilateral meetings, his entire team,
including his national security team, So he'll have Secretary of
State Mark Rubio in the room. He'll have his Defense
Secretary Pete Hegsett in the room, and certainly I would
imagine topics related to the Middle East, Israel's war against
(29:41):
the terrorist group AMATS will certainly come up and be
discussed during the course of their conversation.
Speaker 2 (29:47):
John tell me about as far as what happens when
a new foreign head of state visits in the White
House for the first time, what's going to happen today
that with that, because it's a new time, a new
foreignhead visiting him.
Speaker 8 (30:00):
Well, it's not so much it's a new foreign head
of state, Chris. You know, when the President welcomes his
foreign counterpart, he really rolls out the red carpet. He
often arranges for that leader to stay at Blairhouse, which
is better than a five star hotel right across the
street from the White House, if that foreign leader wishes
(30:21):
to spend a day or two in Washington, d c.
In addition to that, when their motor keke comes into
the front of the White House, there's a military members
that have that are lined up on the north lawn
of the White House welcoming that individual as they are
(30:43):
greeted by the President in the entrance to the West Wings.
So that will certainly likely take place for Chancellor Mertz
when he meets with the President in a few hours.
Speaker 2 (30:54):
John, one more question I wanted to ask on this,
what do you think the President will be pressing for
from Mertz regarding Ukraine and the war with Russia.
Speaker 8 (31:07):
Well, I think you know what I've seen and noticed
is when European leaders come to the White House, it
is you're usually those European leaders that have been very
supportive of Ukraine that lead the conversation in that regard.
Speaker 2 (31:18):
I can recall a.
Speaker 8 (31:19):
Few weeks ago when I was in the Oval Office
when Norway's Prime minister came, and it was the Norwegian
Prime Minister who really pressed this issue of his desire
and really the EU's desire to have the United States
take the lead and continuing to provide military support, intelligence
support to Ukraine in this fight with Russia which was
(31:41):
begun by Russia over three years ago.
Speaker 2 (31:43):
Right, John, I want to thank you very much for
joining US, and I think it's pretty darn cool that
you will be part of that media pool. Is you're
going to be Is that basically mean you're going to
be sitting in that Oval office there with questions.
Speaker 8 (31:55):
Ago, Well, I like how you say sitting.
Speaker 2 (31:57):
I'm not.
Speaker 8 (32:00):
People taking part in the meeting, but I'm going to
be in the Oval Office and I'll have an opportunity
to ask the President a few questions about the big
news is you know, the big news stories of the day.
You know, whether it's talking about the big beautiful bill,
whether it's talking about the US relationship with Germany. I'll
have that opportunity, along with a small group of reporters
(32:21):
that are brought into the Oval Office in just a
few hours.
Speaker 2 (32:23):
I look forward to that. C if you can work
my name in there, okay, so give me in the meeting.
I'll do my best. Absolutely, we're all in this together.
