Speaker 1 (00:00):

the Superstation, and the Rock of Talk sixteen hundred AM
KIVA and Albuquerque, New Mexico. We'd love to have you
listen live every morning, but glad you're here now for
the podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
Enjoy starting your morning off right. A new way of talk,
a new way of understanding, because we're in this together.
This is your Morning Show with Michael O'Dell Jordan.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
Good morning, and welcome to Monday, August the eleventh, evon
Lord twenty twenty five on the air and streaming live
on your iHeartRadio app. This is your Morning Show on
Michael del Jarno. Jeffreys got the sound, Red's got the content,
Rory's got the story. In a moment, if you're just
waking up, Trump administration is going to begin sending the
FBI on night patrols in our nation's capital. Ukrainian President

(00:55):
Zelinsky says his country will not let Russia deceive the
United States. Meanwhile, President Trump set to meet in Alaska
with Putin and thinking about inviting Zelensky to join them,
and apparently Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister BB Daniel,
who had a phone conversation yesterday concerning the Gaza and Hamas,

(01:17):
will have more on that as your Morning show continues. Well,
I can't believe I'm not aware of this, but there
is a growing anti sunscreen movement in America and it's
causing concerns among dermatologists. Roy O'Neil. Are your Morning show
national correspondents here to explain what is being spread in
online chants, chats and why doctors are speaking out. Good

(01:38):
morning Rory, Yeah, Good morning Michaels.

Speaker 3 (01:40):
So the issue is sunscreen and some of the ingredients
in it, like oxy benzone and titanium dioxide. Those are
some of the ingredients that some consumers say are harmful
to individuals, and they're encouraged that people like RFK Junior
are now taking over health and Human Services and the
Maha movement sort of shaking the tree and re examining

(02:04):
things that we may have assumed about the safety of
some of these ingredients. Now that dermatologists will tell you. Look,
we've been using these since the nineteen sixties. We haven't
had any problems, and in fact, and if there are
any problems certainly outweighed by the effectiveness of the sunscreen
in the way it reduces the risk for melanoma and
skin cancer. So you know, dermatologists will encourage you to

(02:26):
use sunscreens with an SPF of thirty even on cloudy days,
in order to avoid the damage that those UV rays
can do.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
And yet every day I forget to I mean I
just never remember, and I go golfing and I never
remembered to put it on.

Speaker 3 (02:44):
Well, as a guy named Rory O'Neill, I have to
put sunscreen on to go to the mailbox.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
So well, I am half Northern Italian in addition to
half Sicilian, and I have the pigmentation of Rory O'Neil,
So trust me, I need too.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
But there are some wellness community who say that diet
changes or building sun exposure can gradually protect you from
this from the concern of getting sunburns.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
They think dietary changes play a big part.

Speaker 3 (03:16):
But you know, you may be protected from sunburns, but
the UV damage does still age you significantly. So even
if you can question the cancer risk spoil those.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
Those what vanity be your guide? Well My high school
football coach used to say, look at old Monk. It's
the indoor type. Look at those white legs. I show
for two days with white legs, and it was like,
you know, but I I had a pool and grew
up on a golf course with a pool. But all
I would do is burn and peel, burn and peel.

(03:47):
But as I got older, now I tan a little bit,
you know, not bronze in any way, but I just
forget to put it on for safety reasons. But maybe
that's why I look so amazingly young for my age.
The lack of Sundays one hundred and fourteen. Yes, that's
what I tell people. I'm ninety seven years old. They go, wow,
you look great. Roy's going to be back. AI is

(04:09):
taking over the hiring process at many companies. What could
go wrong with that? Roy will be back in the
third hour with that story, all right. I mentioned at
the outset of the show news Wise. And there's there's
other the Jerry manderin which dominated all the talking heads shows.
This weekend conversation, which we did in five thirty the
President himself, Laser focused on three things Peace in Ukraine

(04:33):
and that starts in Alaska on Friday with Putin. There
is some talk in the administration of inviting Zelensky as well.
The notion that Donald Trump could sit down was Zelensky
and Putin together and negotiate something is well beyond my optimism.

(04:56):
But we'll see if that can play out. We've got
it's only Monday and Friday to come. Meanwhile, Zelenski told
his people he will see to it that the American
people are not deceived by Russia. I understand his need
to say that to his people. We did this a
little bit on Friday. I'm not going to revisit it today.
But the will to continue to fight in Ukraine is dwindling.

(05:22):
It's cost them a lot, and it's gone on and
they can see a light at the end of the tunnel. Now.
If no peace can be achieved, there will be no
giving up by Ukraine or the NATO nations that are
supporting Ukraine, and there'll be no give up from Donald Trump.
In fact, he will add even more pressure. They will
continue to supply Ukraine the needs to defend its country

(05:47):
as they clamp down on Russia and isolate anybody still
doing business with Russia. Although we had that conversation with
John Dekker on Friday. That's not very easily done. Now
you can penalize in India for buying oil, but so
does China. And careful the president you sent send because
you've got one final piece of your whole tariff puzzle.

(06:11):
Not so much Canada, although that's problematic and needs to
be solved. Brazil problematic and needs to be solved, but
nothing like China. But the President does want to negotiate
both sides. He wants to protect the tariff deal with China,
but he also wants to enforce the isolation of Russia
as he clamps down on sanctions. So the biggest question

(06:32):
of the morning, or for those of you that listen
and pray, you know this notion that there really is
a god and he really hears prayers and he really
answers prayers, is putin finally ready for peace. Can something
a favor happen in this meeting or he will see

(06:56):
the light of ending this because he can't succeed in
putting together the old Russian Empire map. He can't even
I can't imagine reasonably see the ability to take over Ukraine,
let alone any other neighboring country, take the off ramp

(07:18):
and end this. President Trump and Vladimir Putin will meet
in Alaska. Mister Trump confirmed on True's social that the
meeting will take place in Alaska this Friday, August the fifteenth.
Don't forget. The deadline for Russia to come to the
table was Friday the eighth, and we had that announcement
by Friday night. So I don't overread anything either. And

(07:42):
I think John Decker will be belong later next half hour.
He would tell you the President's very optimistic, but the
President often gets his optimism ahead of reality. I don't
want to do that either. But I think that Putin
has agreed to meet in Alaska Friday. Is this sign
that the deadline he seemingly responded to. The dead responded

(08:04):
to the deadline. And I can't imagine from a war
standpoint that he can see victory possible. And I can't
imagine from his nation standpoint wanting all of the financial
pain that would come from stubbornly stubbornly stubborn somebody else
say it, choosing to continue to fight once in your

(08:28):
White House official told CBS News the planning for next
Friday's summit is still fluid, and that it's still possible
the Ukrainian President Zelensky could end up being involved in
some way. The White House said earlier this week that
mister Trump is opened to meeting with both Putin and Zelensky.
The question is Zelensky willing to meet with Putin? His
Putin willing to meet with Zelensky. Mister Trump also said

(08:50):
he believes that we have a shot at organizing a
trilateral meeting with these two leaders. That all I care
about is peace. But from a dramatic standpoint, Donald Trump
sits at a table and mediates peace with these two leaders,

(09:10):
you got to give him the Nobel Peace Prize or
you don't have a prize by definition any longer. I
mentioned how Trump imposed the fifty percent tariff on Indian
goods earlier this week because they bought oil from Russia.
But there are other nations who rely on Russia for
oil as well. The sooner he can get this piece,
the sooner he gets a piece with his trade deals,

(09:32):
the longer there isn't any piece. And by the way,
Putin knows this. So this is this is about all
I can see in his hand in coming to this.
But what you don't see in any of this. You
know what Trump's frustration is that Putin's not willing to talk.
They continue to pummel Ukrainian cities with drones and missile attacks,

(09:58):
the deaths of young men sold Jersey. He's sick of
all of that. He's frustrated with Putin because of it.
What you don't hear is what Putin's fighting for, or
what Putin's holding out for. More importantly, and when I
hear the President, you know telling reporters Putin, I believe

(10:19):
wants to see peace. Zelensky wants to see peace. Let's
get a room and get peace. But Putin's going to
want something to save face with, and that I mean red.
You could fact check me live on the air. You
never hear the one thing he's asking for in this deal.
It never really pops out. I'm sure to pop out

(10:43):
Friday in Alaska. But the President is laser focused on
peace with Ukraine and Russia. He's also laser focused on Hamasles,
Gaza and getting the rest of the hostages back. I
can only imagine I would only be speculating. I can,

(11:04):
on your behalf ask John Decker, who oh my gosh,
John Decker, where do I begin? He all but had
a one on one with the President. It was like
a It was more like a podcast than it wasn't
in his conference. He had so many questions. But it'd
be interesting to ask him. Has there been any word
on what bb net Yahoo and the President discussed yesterday?

(11:27):
I think the and I'm not trying to do the
President's job for him, and I'm certainly not a shill
for this presidency, though most of the time I'm a fan,
but I would suspect you have bb net Yahoo who
is wanting to take this to the ground and physically
take over this area by force. I'm sure Donald Trump

(11:49):
doesn't like the optic of that, especially as a is
what might appear to be an end solution. We have
these conversations with Lieutenantonal James Karafano all the time. I
got very excited about the brilliance that Donald Trump negotiated
with the Arab nations and Muslim nations to take control

(12:10):
of this area as a way of ensuring Hamas and
Iran and radical Islamists and terrorist organizations don't play a
role in the future. And I think that's better policed
by Muslim nations than it is by Israel or the
United States. But a conversation necessary to have on a
Sunday like that. I think there might be some military

(12:32):
action following, and it had to be approved. And these
two work in concerts, so we'll talk more about that.
I mean, I don't know anybody on radio or television
that could do any more than speculate. All we know
is the Trump administration and the Israeli Prime Minister had
a conversation, and the Prime Minister's plans is to take

(12:54):
over the Gaza. The President's goal is a hamasless gaza
in the future. Anything in between or anything more specific,
I don't think anybody knows. But the president is laser
focused on a homoscle's future in Gozam and the third
focus of the president of safety and beautification for DC.
You've got red. How do I want to say this?

(13:15):
You have the Democrats with a new vision for statehood,
but I don't know how serious to take that. That
was mainly kind of initiated by James Carvel in a
desperate hail Mary. Really, Oh, it's stacked the court and
let's add states. But there's been a growing movement that

(13:37):
that might be one of their plays. I don't know
if the President's getting ahead of that or the White
House is in Washington, d C. The government is in Washington,
d C. Big you know what from Doge got attacked
in DC and it was a final straw. The President
wants to see DC safe, and he wants it to
remain beautiful. He wants to address some issues and that

(13:59):
would certainly fall under there is purview. Right, they're not
a state. They just how's the government of the United States.
But we'll know more about that. The President will be
addressing a news conference at nine am Central ten Eastern
this morning, so that's just some three hours from now.

(14:20):
We'll find out what the president's vision for safety and
beautification in our nation's capital is. All right, that's what
the President's up to today, and that's really what the
big news stories are surrounding our conversations. One other thing,
we're going to do a pull up plenty next free
segment we get. I wish I could give you a
time so you could make an appointment, but I don't
know when we're going to get that in. I think

(14:41):
it's going to be at forty after the hour. This
hour It's interesting Trump only gets credit for securing the border.
This on a day where the New York Times reports
the final New York City hotel to house migrants is
being closed. There's no question, there's no attraction to the border,

(15:04):
there's no crossings of the border. A lot of the
most dangerous have been deported, and now the final hotel
to house at the American people's expense, all those that
were imported and spread throughout the country. The final in
New York City is closing. But the only thing in
the poll that the American people will give the president
credit for is the border issues like gas prices and

(15:26):
other things. Not so much, And I'll cut to the
chase for you. Bottom line is you can't get Democrats
to concede any other credit to Donald Trump than that.
Even Democrats have to concede. Biden broke the border. Donald
Trump fixed it again. But they won't give much credit
beyond that. What's left of the two party strangleholds still

(15:48):
rearing its ugly head. Hey what if you could delay
your next two mortgage payments? Just think about that you
have to make when this month or next month? Oh
what a relief putting those two payments in your pocket
or applying it to other things, finally getting a little
breathing room. Well, it's possible when you call American Financing today.

(16:08):
If you're feeling stretched by everyday expenses and who isn't groceries,
gas bills piling up, You're not alone. In fact, most
Americans are putting these expenses on credit cards and getting
further and further in debt. That doesn't seem to be
a way out. That's where American Financing can show you
how to use your home s equity to pay off
your debt, achieve peace of mind, have a real plan,

(16:30):
get out of this mess. You need to call American

can't make those payments. They're salary based mortgage consultants are

could save your budget this summer. Call now, don't put
it off any longer, and certainly call before it's too late.

Speaker 2 (17:19):
Michael, Hey, This is Mike the Baptist in Cottontown, Tennessee,
and my morning show is your Morning show with Michael
Bill Giorno.

Speaker 1 (17:32):
Hi, It's Michael. Your morning show can be heard weekday
mornings in great cities like Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Memphis,
in Nashville, Tennessee. And we got you covered in California,
San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Sacramento. We'd love to
be a part of your morning routine. We're thrilled you
here now enjoy the podcast. Good morning, and thanks for
making your morning show a part of your big day.

(17:53):
Trump administration is beginning to send FBI on night patrols
in Washington, DC. The President himself is going to have
a news conference in less than two and a half
hours to discuss security and beautification for our nation's capital.
The plan is for the President and Putin to meet
in Alaska on Friday. Will Zelensky join in. Our White

(18:15):
House correspondent John Decker is here. You had all but
a podcast with the President on Friday. We'll just I'll
pepper you with questions. We'll see how many of them
you got in. But let's talk about the optimism for
this summit and the possibility of Zelensky being there as well.

Speaker 4 (18:34):
Well, I wouldn't call it optimism. I think the president's
pretty cautious. That's what I heard from him, you know,
when I asked him questions and I heard his tone.
He's hopeful. But you know that's the President's nature, you know,
as it relates to President Zelenski. As of right now,
there are no plans for President Zelenski of Ukraine to
be there for a trilateral summit. This will be a

(18:55):
bilateral summit happening in Alaska on Friday. We still don't
know where, I must tell you. So that makes me
question whether this is going to happen or not. That's
the realist in me. But you know, we'll see.

Speaker 5 (19:07):
I think that the President wants to meet.

Speaker 4 (19:09):
With President Putin, wants to hear what his concessions that
he would make to.

Speaker 5 (19:15):
End this war will be.

Speaker 4 (19:16):
And that's really important both sides, both Russia and Ukraine
need to make concessions in order for this war to end.

Speaker 1 (19:24):
So when you look at it from the perspective of
Vladimir Putin, he had a deadline that he desperately needed
to avoid. He kind of did that and get sets
the meeting for Alaska for Friday. I can't see any
ability to continue his mission to reassemble in any way,

(19:46):
if you will, Russian Empire MAP. I can't even see
an ability for him to win the war in Ukraine.
The big question is what is he holding out for.

Speaker 4 (19:57):
Well, what he's holding out for is seeing how much
of the territory that he has managed to conquer since
this war started through year he can hold on to,
and that is the big question. Now he's put a
proposal together. He gave that proposal to Steve Witkoff when
he met with Steve Whitcoff, the President's Special.

Speaker 5 (20:16):
Envoy in Moscow last week.

Speaker 4 (20:18):
But remember there's another entity that still needs to weigh
in on this, and.

Speaker 5 (20:23):
That is Europe, that is NATO, that is our allies.

Speaker 4 (20:27):
Because they too have contributed a lot in terms of
supporting Ukraine in their war against Russia, and they have
essentially countered Russia's ceasefire proposal. They say that the proposal
that Putin has put on the table disadvantages Ukraine, and
there are no security guarantees associated with what Putin puts

(20:48):
on the table. When the President has this press conference
in a few hours, I'm at the White House right now, Michael,
and when the President has this press conference in a
few hours, I'm sure I'll get some questions in regards
to his upcoming meeting with Putin, and if he calls.

Speaker 5 (21:01):
On me, I'd like to know what.

Speaker 4 (21:02):
Security guarantees the President is prepared to offer up to
Ukraine to seal this.

Speaker 5 (21:07):
Deal and end this war.

Speaker 1 (21:09):
Yeah, the President kind of handled that in a crafty
manner in terms of minerals, because we'd have an interest
in a presence there. And I think the President has
gotten you know, I don't think the President was really
a Zelenski fan. He is a Ukrainian fan. I think
a lot of that stuff that seemed like he wasn't
a Zelenski fan might be real, and it may have
been to leverage things in the way that he has

(21:32):
to get NATO members to give more. But he's got
everything in line. He's got NATO picking up the tab
along with the United States, committed more than ever than
to supporting them. He's got the sanctions ready. The problem
for the president is he's still trying to negotiate these tariffs,
and caught in the middle is if you're gonna not

(21:52):
have peace in Russia and you're going to try to
isolate Russia, you're going to have a hard time enforcing
and isolating them, because there's more than just India buying oil.
I mean, to me, that's the biggest chip Putin has
entering these talks if they happen Friday.

Speaker 5 (22:08):
Do you you.

Speaker 4 (22:09):
Said that back in India?

Speaker 5 (22:11):
I do, And you're right, there's more than India. It's China.
China's the biggest purchaser of Russian oil. Turkey, a NATO member.

Speaker 4 (22:19):
Is actually the third largest purchaser of Russian oil. And
you need, if you're President Trump, you need to impose
those secondary tariffs on those two countries as well in
order to really pressure Russia's economy. And it seems as
if to me the President is reluctant to do just that.

Speaker 1 (22:39):
So my last question is I don't want to go
overtime and get you behind somewhere. But the President has
a lot of reasons to want this piece, and I
believe it's mainly driven by the death of young men
and women. He's sick of that. I mean, I get that,
but he's got terriff issues if this war lingers. Putin
has issues in terms of being isolated and sanctions if

(23:02):
this continues and victory is not on the table. And
then for Ukraine, there's new research out showing they're really
losing their will to fight at home. I think they
would continue to fight, they'll continue to have NATO's support,
but they would like all three sides have motive to
end this. That's where my optimism comes from. Naive.

Speaker 5 (23:20):
Well, yeah, you're right.

Speaker 4 (23:21):
I mean, Zelenski talks about wanting to end this war,
Putin doesn't. And the president, as you know, we talk
about this all the time. The President always says it
takes two to tango.

Speaker 5 (23:30):
And he's right.

Speaker 4 (23:31):
So even if you have one party that wants to
end this conflict, you need the other party to want
to end this conflict as well. And you know, Putin
has shown no desire to end this war after three
plus years, with his daily drone strikes, daily missile strikes
on civilian areas in Ukraine.

Speaker 1 (23:47):
Last question, I'll be very very quick. The President had
some kind of conversation would be b Netanyahu. I know
he has a vision for amosless future in the Gaza.
As does Israel any idea what that conversation was and
can we expect military action?

Speaker 4 (24:01):
A very good question. No, we did not get a
readout in terms of the conversation that the President had
with his Israeli counterpart, Benjamin net Yahoo. The President obviously
is balancing two major conflicts of wars that he would
like to see very much end, but they continue on
and that creates a big headache for President Trump.

Speaker 1 (24:20):
White House correspondent, You're Morning Show John Decker, Thank you
so much. Have a great day, sir. We'll talk to
you tomorrow about everything that you witnessed today. All right,
GiB you're just waking up. The office of the Prime
Minister of Israel bbntye who says they did have a
conversation with President Trump on Sunday. Mark Mayfield has the details.

Speaker 6 (24:38):
According to the Prime Minister's office, the two discussed Israel's
plan to take over the remaining Hamas strong holds in Gaza.
Danielle who also thankd Trump for his support of Israel
since the start of the war. It comes as many
of Israel's allies have been calling for a negotiated seasfire
in Gaza to secure the release of the hostages and
to help resolve the humanitarian crisis in the Palestinian territory.

Speaker 1 (24:58):
I'm Mark metheus shooter at a CVS in Atlanta has
been identified.

Speaker 7 (25:02):
Official say they've ided the shooter who opened fire at
the CDC campus at Emory University. Preashreather has more from Atlanta.

Speaker 8 (25:09):
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation identifying thirty year old Patrick
Joseph White as the suspected shooter. White lived about thirty
miles away from where the shooting took place. A neighbor
who says she knew him well, telling NBC News White
had expressed anti vaccine sentiments to her on multiple occasions,
and that he told her he believed the COVID vaccine

(25:31):
made him sick.

Speaker 7 (25:32):
To calp County Police officer David Rose lost his life
while responding to a report of gunfire on the CDC campus.
Authority say Rose was shot by White.

Speaker 1 (25:43):
You know, if I was president of the United States.
I don't know if justice is coming yet. That has
to play out, but I know my predecessor tried to
sabotage my presidency. I'd put his portrait in a corner too,
and that's exactly what the President did. Lisa Carton reports.

Speaker 9 (26:02):
That's according to CNN, which obtained a photo of the
Obama portrait now hanging in a corner at the top
of the stairwell of the Grand Staircase. The portraits of
former President George W. Bush and former President George H. W.
Bush have also been moved. CNN also reports sources said
the moves were directed by President Trump. The area where
the portraits are now displayed is heavily restricted to the

(26:25):
First family, secret Service agents, and a limited number of
White House staff. I'm Lisa Carton.

Speaker 1 (26:31):
Weapons scared up a huge opening weekend to box office.
The horror film earned forty two and a half million
dollars in its first three days, ten million above expectation.
This weekend's other major news new release was Disney's Freakier Friday?
Is that a remake? Freak here Friday? Wasn't that yet,
Lizzie Lhan Is that what we really use about? Yeah? Okay, absolutely,

(26:51):
we did yesterday. You did, Okay, twenty nine million dollars?
That did really good. Lindsay Lohan has really gotten her
life together. And sometimes these things you can see them
like a train. What are you doing with your Obama bobblehead?
Why do I have to stare at that? Is there
something you're wanting to say about it? Look at putting
them in the I'm putting them in the corner. You're
putting in the corner. Okay, that was worth the wait.

(27:14):
I don't own one, but yeah, for Lindsay Lohan, you know,
that's her biggest opening box office of her career. Although
more than her career. I'm excited she got her life
back together, all right. AOL is shutting down it's dial
up internet service after more than four decades. Oh the Memories.

Speaker 6 (27:38):
Once a staple of the early Internet era, the service,
which connected motives through phone lines, at one time.

Speaker 1 (27:44):
Boasted millions of customers.

Speaker 6 (27:46):
Even as late as twenty fifteen, AOL had more than
two million dial up customers. That number has since dropped
to the low thousands. The service will be disconnected on
September the thirtieth.

Speaker 1 (27:55):
I'm working for you. In sports, Let's start with preseason
NFL foot ball Lions seventeen to ten winners over the
Atlanta Falcons, Browns one to oh, thirty to ten over
the Carolina Panthers. The Amazona Cottos how field goal win
twenty seventeen over the Chiefs. Titans gobbage, and I see
no hope whatsoever on blown out by Tampa twenty nine.

(28:20):
Is a god every time. About my high school teacher.
He used to like a dog. He'd show you his
teeth first, and he'd wind up and he goes, mister
mimss Sparrow got bitch. Titans our garbage twenty nine to seven,
losers to the Buccaneers, rams by ten over the Cowboys
thirty one to twenty one. Bills fell to the Giants
thirty four to twenty five, but the early play looked
really good. Baseball Tigers won nine to five over the Angels.

(28:42):
Cardinals beat the Cubs. That's a big win. Three two.
Guardians lost to the White Sox six to two, and
that's not easy to do. How about the Brewers, They
were down, came back walk off homer to win seven
to six over the Mets. Nine straight for the brew Crew.
Rais lost six three to the Mariners a three to
two over the O's Podreys won six to two over
the Red Sox t bags easy over the Rockies thirteen
to six, and the Dodge has lost five to four

(29:04):
to the Blue Jays. Birthdays Today the podcast King himself,
Joe Rogan is fifty eight. Oscar winning actress Viola Davis
is sixty, Apple co founder Steve wisney Ak is seventy five.
For himself, Chris Hemsworth is forty two. And there's just
something about Mary. Good Morning, Birthday.

Speaker 10 (29:22):
It's my birthday and I'm so glad to be spending
it with your morning show, although I am going to
spend the rest of the day questioning my life choices
because I still have the same AOL email address that
I got in nineteen ninety eight and I'm a Tennessee
Titans fan.

Speaker 1 (29:36):
So all well, I can't give you that, buddy, can't
give you anything there for your birthday, but I can say, Mary,
everybody here at your morning show is so glad you
were born, and thank you so much for sharing your
big day with us. We're honored to have you.

Speaker 2 (29:52):
It's your morning show with Michael del Choano.

Speaker 1 (29:56):
I do want to make sure your morning show has
your voice. I want to start with Blaine in Ames, Iowa,
to Blaine.

Speaker 11 (30:03):
We go. Good morning, Michael. Here's the fact that you
guys really aren't paying attention to. For over seventy years,
we have been paying tariffs around the world. We've been
charging people one percent, two percent, and three percent tariffs. Yeah,
we've been getting jacked around. Now things have changed and
people are complaining about it. I haven't heard it. I

(30:25):
hear you guys on the radio complain about it. Not
people in the world out here. You guys live in
a bubble. You're part of the matrix. You ran out
of three seconds.

Speaker 1 (30:36):
That's a shame because I still don't understand. First of all,
I am not opposed to being challenged. That's what we're
all in this together is all about. And sometimes the conversation,
which talk radio is desperately needed to return to, is important.
I just don't follow what you're saying. We all know
how America has been getting unfairly treated with tariffs. We

(30:56):
also know that by leveling the playing field, we the people,
are going to end up picking up the tab for this.
You do realize that that cost is going to be
shifted to the American people. Now, that's fine if it's
invested and stays invested in creating opportunity. These are in
depth discussions we've had. We had a former host in

(31:17):
Nashville who we loved dearly, who passed away during COVID
would call that being a ban go listener. I can't
speak to what you heard or think you heard. The
conversation I've had today on the show concerns the complexity
of Donald Trump's situation to isolate Russia. He's going to
tighten the screws on them, not just with sanctions, but

(31:39):
penalizing anybody that does business with them. He's already done
it with India. The problem is China, who you don't
have a tariff deal with yet also gets their oil.
Turkey gets their oil, a lot of the NATO allies
get their oil from Russia. He wants this peace deal
done so he can go secure these tariff deals, and
Putin knows it, because if Putin holds out and doesn't

(32:04):
get exactly what he wants, the President's caught in a
pickle between tariffs and peace because to get peace, you
got to sanction Russia. You got to tighten the screws
on them, and you got to isolate them and penalize
anybody that does businesses with them. But if you do that,
you're going to be penalizing NATO nations and or nations
you haven't secured trade deals with yet. That has nothing

(32:24):
to do with it. You just I really couldn't follow you,
but I appreciate you listening, Blaine, And there's nothing that
you said we don't talk about that we don't talk about.
And I work very hard every day to stay out
of a bubble, so I don't think I was in
one this time. That's an example of a call I
can't really respond to because I don't really follow it.

(32:46):
This is what a caller of the day sounds like.
Bill and Tampa, Good morning, Michael.

Speaker 12 (32:50):
I'd like to know when we started to call our
representatives leaders.

Speaker 1 (32:55):
I think they take the term leader to heart.

Speaker 12 (32:58):
We really need to get back to calling them representatives.
They are supposed to represent the people, not lead the people.

Speaker 1 (33:06):
Now, that was within the thirty seconds. It makes a powerful,
thoughtful point, and I couldn't agree more. I hope America
comes to that realization. We're gonna have a conversation with
Chris Walker next hour and we're going to talk a
little bit about this. When did politicians cease being representatives,
representatives who served their district collectively served the nation, and

(33:29):
when did they devolve into this divisive shirts and skins
partisan only to now the ultimate devolving, which is to
individual celebrity, self serving, self enriching, lifelong self servants. Now,

(33:50):
if you disagree with that digression, that's a whole other
long conversation. But for those that get it and see
it and know it, the question becomes, when did partisanship
evolve into governmental dysfunction? And what was the cause? Advent

(34:12):
of TV cable television news or how about social media,
the personalization and obsession with political fighting. Well ask Chris
Walker that next hour I mentioned a kind of two
part sound of the day. There's nothing. Everybody's got their
weird thing. My dad's afraid of people in like motorized chairs.
He thinks they're going to kill somebody. It's a weird

(34:34):
mine is. I hate corporate speak. It makes me want
to go on stage like Will Smith and slap them
right across the face. Here's the Cracker Barrel marketing director
putting our minds at ease that they're not going to
change our precious cracker barrel, but rather refresh it.

Speaker 13 (34:52):
Listen, and we've spent the last year testing and concepting
various levels, concepting remodels. All of these have been All
of these various levels have been rooted in our brand DNA.
They've been rooted in guest feedback, and it's.

Speaker 1 (35:08):
Brand DNA guest feedback, and I'm guessing intentionality.

Speaker 13 (35:12):
It's all about evolution with intentionality. We've been very transparent
about our goal of making our stores feel brighter and
even more welcoming than they already are, while maintaining that
country hospitality and charm that we're known for. So when
it comes to the overall experience, what you ken, am?

Speaker 1 (35:33):
I The only one that hates corporate speak is that
taught in college. Can we get it to stop? And
Cracker Burrough, we're most concerned about. Give us more cast
a role, bring the toast out with the meal. I
don't care what you got hanging on your wall. Maybe
a separate entrance too, so I don't have to buy
a bunch of gifts on my way to the table.

Speaker 2 (35:51):
We're all in this together. This is your Morning Show
