or thirteen hundred The Patriot in Tulsa, our Talk six
fifty KSTE in Sacramento, California. We invite you to listen
live while you're getting ready in the morning, and to
take us along for the drive to work. But, as
we always say, better late than never. Thanks for joining
(00:21):
us for the podcast.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
Well two three, starting your morning off right, A new
way of talk, a new way of understanding, because we're
in this together. This is your morning show with Michael
Gill charm.
Speaker 1 (00:39):
Hi. There, I'm Michael, and I'm having a bad hair day.
We'll just call it win, We'll call it Wednesday. I
mean what that is whimsical, isn't it?
Speaker 3 (00:49):
Well?
Speaker 1 (00:49):
I mean you look like Hermie from Rudolph. It looks
like a rooster. Well, pull your chain when we're ready,
I may you. All of a sudden, Rid's chiming in.
Oh well, I had to like put him in play
his place there. Whenever he gets a chance, he takes
a shot at a furloughed government employee. Are you kidding me?
(01:11):
The should get back pay? Why are you so grumpy
over furloughed him? I just I followed that whole story. Uh.
The law that that ensures their back pay was created
by Trump one point zho the first term. Now he's
threatening like in an art of the negotiation kind of
a way. And at the end of the day, he's
(01:32):
the one that created the law. When they bring it,
if follow the law. Okay, So what was this whole exercise?
I'd rather go back to Pam BONDI putting some senators
in their place. Anyway, Good morning? Did I mention good morning?
I don't think you have yet. Welcome to Wednesday, October
the eighth year of Our Lord, twenty twenty five. It
is eight minutes after the hour on the Aaron streaming
live on your iheartradiop This is your morning show. Throughout
(01:54):
the show, we would not, could not and would never
dah do this show without your voice. Now, how does
that work? The days of rotting on hold and talk
radio are over. If you're listening on the iHeartRadio app,
there's a microphone. You press it. It counts you down
three two, one gives you thirty seconds to ask a question,
(02:15):
make a comment, take your place at the kitchen table.
I also welcome for those that like to type emails
at Michael d at iHeartMedia dot com. That's Michael. We
spare you the spelling of the last name Michael d
at iHeartMedia dot com. I was waiting and waiting on
the tigers, and at one point I was watching big
(02:37):
poppy doo weather forecasts in front of the giant weather
map that was right up there with your Christmas carol
that you are not allowed to play on the air. Yeah,
I'm making sure you got judgment this morning, which, by
the way, my family thinks I'm very weird for that.
I literally listen to Christmas music year round. I know
(02:58):
that's why I played it for you. Well, I know,
but why is that so weird? I did find a
new channel now that they thought they started to call
me weird until you know, they were all comatosin and
seduced in. I have the SPA channel that I put
on the spot very relaxing. I noticed I drive slower
(03:18):
when people drive stupid. It doesn't aggravate me as much.
I just have my little Zin Spa music out of
the car. But yeah, I listened to Christmas music here round.
So one of the things I want to break down
is that Tigers ended up losing by the way eight
(03:39):
to four. But I went and I I haven't watched it.
We'd have to look up what year it is. That's
what I'm struggling for. What year do you think Tom
Hanks did From the Earth to the Moon. He was
very young in it, so I'm thinking, I don't know
why I remember it in the nineties, but it may
have been later because who was the guy we interviewed from,
(04:05):
Tim Daily was in it, and Tim was very young.
Although Tim still looks great, I forgot how good those were.
I mean that when you watch From Earth to the Moon,
that was even better than Apollo thirteen nineteen ninety eight.
It was ninety eight, so that's twenty seven years ago. Wow,
(04:27):
I've aged better than Tom Hanks. He looks I'm telling you,
he looks like who is the movie he did with
Daryl Hannah Splash Splash. He's like splash young in it,
but he always does the intro and he goes from
the Earth to the Moon. So then I fall asleep
(04:49):
watching Earth to the Moon, and my son, I'm hearing
the and so I wake up and he's texting me.
The Yankees were down I think six to one, and
the Tigers were down five to one. He was wanting
me to read the texts for my brother. Apparently my
brother was just he is. When I tell you he
(05:10):
loves the Detroit Tigers, love doesn't describe it. So I
mean he's going through an emotional rollercoaster to the point
where my son was actually worried. He was okay. So
I put that down and I fell immediately back and
I wake up.
Speaker 4 (05:22):
Well.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
Unfortunately for the Tigers, of course, they lost eight to four.
They're now down two games to one. They'll play for
their postseason life later today. The Yankees, though, who I
thought for sure i'd wake up in the season was over.
They were down six to one, went on to stay.
They pulled to Beji's Stay in Alive, Stay in Alive.
They won last night. So Yankees are alive. I think
(05:45):
all four playing today, all four playoff divisional playoff games
are today, So plenty of baseball for you. James call
Me is set to be arraigned on two federal charges.
Members of the Texas National Guard have arrived in Chicago
there's a part of me, you know, we don't ever
say this stuff out loud, I guess for fear of
(06:07):
you know, people overreading into it. But I said from
the very beginning, I know that the people unanimously want
the border sealed. This notion that the country is as
loose and crazy as the far left and want an
open border and a sovereign nation and everything bad that
(06:29):
pours in with the innocent. And I can tell you
today that border crossing apprehensions are at a fifty five
year low. There would be no debate, nothing but celebrate
the securing of the border, then the apprehension, detention and
(06:52):
or setting back to their country of origin, and if
their country of origin won't take them, then we send
them to a facility somewhere of criminals. I think the
American people would have celebrated. It's when you blur things
and start going after those who simply came illegally. They're
(07:15):
not doing anything else illegal. After that, I just wonder
out loud because if the Democrats and the far left,
and that means the media, I'm getting to them in
a second, get their way, not the dummies. Like I
didn't say dummy, That was mean, forgive me, not the yeah,
(07:41):
not the idiots like Joy behar to get the joke.
In other words, I wasn't gonna say dummy, but I
could say idiot. Yeah, I mean, she thinks this is
about stopping the next election. I mean it was just
but I mean, I'm like to the point where if
you watch the view that speaks of you, it was like, whenever,
bring me a big deal. The Jerry Springer Show. It
(08:02):
really wasn't that a big deal unless you were the
one that watched it. You know, it may say some
about you, but but I wonder how many people will
view all of this National Guard into Chicago, National Guard
into Portland. They're not going to remember the specifics, like, well,
look at what the morons are doing on the streets.
(08:23):
Look at how they were jeopardizing federal employees who were
simply doing their job. And I just scratched my chin
and I go, you know, if we weren't doing all that,
we'd simply have a secured border and we'd be getting
the dangerous people who are human trafficking, are raping, are killing,
(08:48):
are selling drugs or in gangs gone, and that would
all be celebrated. Otherwise, what I fear is the minute
we get a Donemocrat administration again, everything's going to get reversed,
including the borders wide open again. And that would be
(09:08):
five steps forward and ten steps back. But it really
isn't any more deep than what we said from the beginning.
The American people will be all fore closing the border.
They will be all for removing dangerous people. When you
start removing those who have come illegally, yes, but haven't
(09:29):
done anything else illegal since, then, that's what's going to
get That's where the waters are going to get murky,
and that's where we're at right now. So the National
Guard from Texas has arrived in Chicago. You're left to
just hope that the people of Chicago are all for
public safety. Clearly, your mayor, your chief of police, they're
(09:56):
not able to keep you safe, your DA, they're not
able to keep you safe. You would welcome the help.
They're not there to take over the city. They're not
there to hurt innocent people. They're there to do the
job that the municipality is failing to do. But that
isn't what it feels like. I can't say it any
(10:20):
better than the story of the story of tapping the
phones of Republican senators by the FBI is so much
bigger than Watergate that it begs the question, well, why
(10:44):
isn't it having a Watergate response? Because the media has changed.
Woodward and Bernstein are not outraged about it today, and
the American people if they found out what deep threat
and deep throat knows by way of Woodward and Bernstein
(11:05):
would want to see the president resign. That would never
happen anymore. We've changed. I get that. I mean the
text messages of Jay Jones. This is like the movie
campaign you should just go away. I can't think of
anything worse. And yet a former vice president is defending him,
(11:29):
and you get this sense that the Democrats have moved
on and they're fine with mom Donnie. So as a brand,
it extends to socialist, communist, Islamist, and now as a
brand at a time after an assassination, it's okay to
threaten to kill political opponents and then just say you're
(11:51):
sorry years later, even with death on their kids. Okay.
If that's the case, there's only one way, one other
way to handle it, and that is when you're running
against him. Just make this your campaign ad Trust me,
this is going to be your favorite thirty seconds of
the day.
Speaker 4 (12:11):
Washington Post confirms j Jones sent texts that imagine shooting
the Republican Speaker of the House. J Jones wish the
speaker's wife could.
Speaker 1 (12:20):
Watch her own child die in her arms. See so disgusting,
you know how, Like you usually have these campaign ads
and you're like, these are ridiculed. He did it, he
did he texted it. They're showing you the text. Now,
here's the best part about the story. If you combine ABC, NBC, CBS,
(12:41):
and PBS, can you imagine if we'd have found, yeah,
some prominent Republican whose texts or some Republican candidate who
was texting such vicious file things we could like the
price is right high low game. Sixty three seconds of
(13:07):
total coverage on ABC, NBCCBS and PBS combined. How do
you be a bias media? Stories? You cover stories you
don't angles. They didn't even cover it. This was like
(13:29):
the primary way you do it. You just ignore it.
But it's real and it happened, and if everyone was aware,
and far more are now because it's not twenty five
years ago. People are online. This is one of the
top two stories online. It's not like people don't know
what's happening. They're not getting away with hiding j Jones.
(13:51):
This is why ABC, NBCCBS and PBS are irrelevant. But
the story still is and it's as much a part
of the brand, the Democrat party brand moving forward as
mom Donnie. So I don't know what they think they're
getting away with or for how long, but time will tell.
And then we just had the was that yesterday the
day before we did the piece of research and it
(14:14):
clearly showed if you're a Republican, there's nothing better on
your resume running for office and having served in the military,
Nobody cares. If you're a lawyer, got plenty of them. Now,
if you're a Democrat, it's not only not a plus,
it could be a liability. Well, in a Republican primary
special election for the United States Congress, one guy did
(14:36):
a commercial in his military uniform telling you how he
flew sorties in a rock and he had the endorsement
of Donald Trump, and he won by twice as many
votes as the person who came in second, who had
campaigned for over a year. It seems that's the power
of military and Donald Trump, especially in, so we got
(15:00):
that more for you coming up between now on the
end of the third hour, what do we always say,
miss little you could miss a lot, miss a lot,
We'll miss you. And then there's the podcast. So either
way it works out. We got one chance to live
this Wednesday, October the eighth year of Our Lord, twenty
twenty five. Rise and shine, good morning. We're all in together.
This is your day, This is your morning show.
Speaker 5 (15:23):
This is your morning Show with Michael del Chrono.
Speaker 1 (15:27):
The government shutdown is now in day eight, and the
President is suggesting that some furloughed government workers could receive
back pay while others won't. Not sure how that works
with the law. Texas National Guard has arrived in Chicago.
FBI director James Comy set to be arraigned today on
two federal chargers, and Dolly's sister is asking for all
(15:49):
of us to pray. We're all very concerned about Dolly
Pardon's health. Here in Middle Tennessee, people always ask me,
what's your favorite part of the show. Hands down my
listeners and Steve is one reason.
Speaker 3 (16:00):
They're Once were eight senators spied with phone taps that
left them tongue tied. Bigger than watergates mess, but the
media couldn't care less. The outrage just bottled inside.
Speaker 1 (16:15):
Keep up the good work, buddy, We're behind you all
the way. Steve and Oklahoma City listening on kt OK.
That's get. That is a good piece of poetry right
there and timely. I might add, this is Andy Hickson,
formerly of Nashville, now living in Detroit, Michigan. Thanks to iHeartRadio.
(16:35):
My morning show is your morning show. Hi, I'm Michael,
and your morning show is heard on great radio stations
across the country like one oh five, nine twelve fifty
w HNZ and Tampa, Florida, News Radio five seventy wk
b N and Youngstown, Ohio and News Radio one thousand,
(16:59):
KTOK and Oklahoma City. Love to have you listen to
us live in the morning, and of course we're so
grateful you came for the podcast. Enjoy. Throw that leg
over the side of the bed, force yourself just like
I did hours ago. To the kitchen, grab some coffee.
We got a date to understand. Welcome to Wednesday, October
the eighth, twenty twenty five. If you're just getting up,
the government shut down is in day eight. Former FBI
(17:20):
director James Comey set to be a ragin today on
two charges. And members of the Texas National Guard have
arrived in Chicago. And somebody woke up the Yankee Bats
while I was asleep last night, and they're staying alive,
staying alive with it went over the Blue Jays. All
four divisional playoff games head into game four today, right? Yeah?
(17:44):
Game four? No? The National is the National No, the
National League isn't in Game four? Are they? This is
Game three for the National League? Will be game four
for the American League. I don't know why I'm interrupting myself.
We spare no expense here at your morning show, which
is why we got together with the musical director of
the show, like you know, like the late night talk
(18:05):
shows like Jimmy Kimmel. We have a staff of a
thousand and so we had the music team put together
our new email theme. Do we actually like this one
better than the old one? All right, well let's hear it.
What'll put on me? Oh? I see why they're typing? Yes,
the type. You can always email me at Michael di
(18:26):
Atiheartmedia dot com, Catherine Wrights. Even if eight out of
ten people can agree that they worry online about online radicalization.
Can they at least agree on the direction of which
it's coming from? How many are liberals worried about the
far right radicalization? And how many are conservatives worried about
the far left radicalization? Were divided even on the things
(18:46):
we agree on various too, Well, that's what makes it
so at a time after the Charlie Kirk assassination and
all of the violence and rising violence to have and
then of all positions. I can't emphasize this enough, and
I don't do it every time, but I shouldn't have
to do. You know what we call an attorney general
top cop. How do you run for attorney general top
(19:11):
cop in Virginia when text messages like, you know, wishing
your opponents, your political opponents two and four year olds
were dead and that a bullet should be put into
your opponent's head. I mean, you would think that's the
kind of scandal that would just end a career. I
did notice, though, that j Jones canceled his fundraising event,
so I think Red's got it right. The big story
(19:32):
today will be that someone who ran for vice president
with Hillary Clinton is supporting this man, not supporting what
he texted, but supporting him moving forward, Michael. He also
said that cops should die. Yeah. Well yeah, kind of
hard coming from a top cop. Yes, I mean, it's
just impossible for this, But like you said, you know,
(19:55):
one fresh new poll and he's probably gone. As I
played earlier, his opponent has already come out with the
new campaign ad against him, and uh, well it just
kind of speaks for itself.
Speaker 4 (20:08):
Washington Post confirms j Jones sent texts that imagine shooting
the Republican Speaker of the House. J Jones wish the
speaker's wife could watch her own child die in arms.
Speaker 1 (20:20):
It's so disgusting, it's hard to believe, but it's true.
Speaker 4 (20:24):
J Jones confirmed that he hoped an opponent's children could
die to advance his political agenda.
Speaker 1 (20:31):
Can you trust J Jones to protect your children? I'm Jason.
I wonder if they did, dud Jason, good commercial. This
is really right out of the movie campaign and it
will Ferrell. I wonder if they have a separate one
for what he wished cops die blesshoot. Isn't that amazing though, Michael,
Normally we're making fun of they want you to die? Yeah,
(20:55):
but he did actually just hyperbole. Well, how many actually did,
But how many people will see that commercial read and go, oh,
that's this is her day? These commercials have gone too far. No,
he really did. Well everybody that watches ABC, CBS, NBC
because they don't even know the story exists. Yeah, we're
gonna do that a little later on sixty three seconds
combined for ABC, NBCCBS and uh PBS just completely ignoring it.
(21:19):
We should run the same test for the for the
tapping of US Senate Republican senator's phones by the FBI,
because I don't thin everybody's covering that either. Howard writes, Uh, Michael,
I heard you tease us with the possibility of a
co host, an unnecessary thing, I thought until I heard
her voice. You see, everyone who's exposed to Mary can't
(21:42):
quite put their finger on it. But there's something about Mary.
I think her name was Mary. You know Rush Rush
used to have a a long time ago. He had
a crush on one of our She was a Sacramento
news person that she came to Telsa for the long,
longest time. Just a wonderful person. Karen Larson is her
(22:03):
was her TV name. Her real name was Karen Carlson
anyway make a long story show. Whenever I would talk
to Rush, he would always pretend like he couldn't remember
her name. How is what was her name? Mom? Make
you say it? Karen? Yes, Karen Carlson. How is she?
(22:24):
She's wonderful. That's kind of what Howard polls here. I
think her name was Mary. Oh, I think you remember
her name was Mary. She has such a strong, clear,
pleasant female voice. I love that sound. No, I joke, Howard.
I love all my listeners. I used to single them
out and now I can't. I mean, look at Steven
(22:46):
Oklahoma City just minutes ago, whipping out a poem first
thing in the morning. That's kind of stuff. Host to
you guys, are you are the co host of this show?
But no this we're not adding a co host. Mary's
always here and when she drops by, it's always treasured.
But I always joked, I always joke I think she
(23:08):
should be the villain. What I'm on vacation read and
are okay with that? We just chopper her in from
bois or wherever she is outside. Don't imagine to do
that anymore? The power of the Internet. Well, so I
might say, that's what you're doing with me right now.
Good morning, Michael. The biggest reason I don't listen to
(23:29):
Christmas music year round is I don't want to diminish
it before Christmas. Well, that does happen, by the way,
once you know, there's nothing quite like that first week
of Christmas music, and then by the time Christmas rolls around,
you really are kind of burnt chest. Now this song
is roasting on my open mind. My wife could watch
(23:51):
Christmas Vacation anytime in the year. I watch a Feast
of seven Fishes. I watch four Christmas Christmases throughout the year,
and I never tire. I listened to Christmas music throughout
the year. For me, it's like little many vacations. My neuroassociation.
First of all, the birth of a Savior is always
(24:12):
relevant year round, and you can never remind yourself enough
that we're in a we're living in a garbage dump
right now compared to where we're headed. But I don't
know why. It just gives me a great feeling, and
I have great neuro associations with a holiday, So I
listened to year round. A lot of people think are weird.
Keep the emails coming, Michael Atiheartmedia dot com. All right,
Red and Jeffrey are very concerned with all the members
(24:38):
of the Trump cabinet. The first I remember is when
I was a teen preteen to early teen watching Jimmy
Carter age, because Jimmy Carter in seventy six, the peanut
farmer with a smile, and he was so young. Remember
how young he looked. Remember how young Bill Clinton looked
(24:59):
when he in Yeah, like you know, but Jimmy Cary're
like this guy old enough to be president anything. So yeah,
And by the time he left, and he was only
there four years in a boom, he doubled it a
I was like, my gosh, that must be a terrible job. Well,
Trump does an age, but his cabinet age is tremendously
although I will say I thought Pam Bondy looked terrific
(25:22):
yesterday and my favorite exchange outgoing Dick Durbin in Illinois
trying to make politics just to show you. And there's
a part of me that's like, you know what, put
them in their place, but be respectful. Pam, like Cash
Patel is more contentious, and I think there's a better
way to play it than that. But it was I
(25:43):
know you're gonna love it. There's just something about they
want to play politics and these people pop in and
they're not playing the game. And in this particular case,
Pam called it right as she sees it. But Pam
Bondy was a tiger yesterday and she was devouring the
(26:09):
raw meat of the senators. Listen.
Speaker 6 (26:10):
But the word is, and I think it's been confirmed by
the White House, they are going to transfer Texas National
Guard units to the state of Illinois.
Speaker 1 (26:18):
What's the rationale for that, Chairman?
Speaker 7 (26:20):
As you shut down the government, you voted to shut
down the government, and you're sitting here.
Speaker 1 (26:25):
Our law enforcement officers.
Speaker 7 (26:26):
Aren't being paid. They're out there working to protect you.
I wish you loved Chicago as much as you hate
President Trump.
Speaker 1 (26:32):
And stop right there. That ought to be a bumper sticker.
I wish you loved Chicago as much as you hate
Donald Trump. There's a lot of people I wish loved
America as much as they hate Donald Trump. Sometimes I
wonder if I wish others would love others as much
(26:54):
as you love Donald Trump. But I mean, it was
a great reversal there. I'm a back it up a
little bit. Re Listen to that and then watch where
she comes.
Speaker 7 (27:01):
And you're sitting here.
Speaker 1 (27:02):
Our law enforcement officers.
Speaker 7 (27:03):
Aren't being paid. They're out there working to protect you.
I wish you loved Chicago as much as you hate
President Trump, and currently the National Guard are on the
way to Chicago.
Speaker 1 (27:13):
If you're not going.
Speaker 7 (27:14):
To protect your citizens, President.
Speaker 6 (27:15):
Trump will been on this committee for more than twenty years.
That's the kind of testimony you expect from this administration.
A simple question as to whether or not they had
a legal rationale for deploying National Guard troops becomes grounds
for a personal attack.
Speaker 1 (27:30):
I think it's a legitimate question. It's my responsibility.
Speaker 6 (27:33):
She refuses to answer as to whether she had any
conversation with the White House about deploying National troops to
my state.
Speaker 8 (27:40):
Your city has a murder rate five times higher than
New York's five hundred and seventy one homicides last year.
If you were serious about protecting your people, you would
be asking this administration for help. You're saying that we're
coming into your state and your city. We're there to
(28:03):
help make America safe and Illinois safe, whether or not.
Speaker 1 (28:08):
You want to. Now, here's the problem. A lot of
people in talk radio are going to play these clips
and they're going to love what they hear. And I
just shared with you what I loved hearing. However, remember
the first thing I said, there is a better way
to do this and be respectful and cooperative. He does
(28:29):
have a right to legitimately ask an attorney general the
legal standing in what they're doing, not the necessity, not
what others should be doing and it or not doing,
and she does dance around answering that. Now, when it
comes to deploying the National Guard in our nation's capital,
(28:52):
that falls under the government. When it comes to protecting
facilities that are threatened with federal employees trying to do
their job, like in Portland, that does have legal justification,
But just going in where municipalities, counties, and states are
failing to protect their own people is a lot more gray.
(29:17):
And this is where you end up with competing narratives.
And this is what I worry about. I can't believe
more people didn't misunderstand what I was trying to say
that I did. I wish I had to be more paranoid.
The President has sealed the border and he has the
support of probably nine out of ten Americans, and it's
(29:42):
at a fifty five year low with border crossing apprehensions.
He has solved the border. There'll be no more leaks.
And if everybody was gung ho about how he did
that and maintaining that it would stay sealed, then you've
got to go get rid of all the people that
have already gotten in, whether they're terrorists, whether they're gang members,
(30:05):
whether they're drug lords, whether they're human traffickers, whether they're rapists,
whether they're murderers, robbers, criminals. But then now we're mostly
going after those who were ordered to leave. They had
their due process and they haven't left. That is breaking
the law of breaking in and then breaking the law
(30:26):
of not leaving after your trial. But that gets a
little grayer, and then you start sending in National Guard
to cities and they can start building a narrative. And
my concern is that if there is a Democrat president
in three years, they reverse everything right back to opening
up the border. So it becomes an issue of how
(30:53):
you handle it as much as how well you do it.
And so there were some great Pambondi moments, but then
there were some some moments I think we need to
avoid you, and she should give the flat out answer.
And that's where Red gets to boys. She looks really tired,
I mean sometimes fumbling through a paper. She looked really tired.
(31:13):
But she had some really good, vicious attacks that will
feature in our sounds the day. But that's kind of
really the big stories that you're waking up to. Here
comes the Texas National Guard arriving in Chicago, where they're
not wanted. They weren't wanted in d C. But there
was a legal ability to send them there, and then
the mayor started cooperating and they really liked the outcome. Portland.
(31:37):
It's about it's about federal facilities that are under attack Chicago.
This is a different argument and it begins today. Was
the point I was trying to make anything. Want to
add Red, Do you want to defend anything? No, I
just think the Democrats are going to do with the
Democrats student, Well, that's your I know, that's your final point.
(31:57):
They're gonna they're gonna twist it no matter what. But
let's not give them. You know, I like to be
able to stand on the right side completely. And that
was some of the moments I thought was uncomfortable. I
felt the same way. I'm not picking on PAMBONDI, I
thought Cash Bettel, I like the strong moments. I like
saying the truth. At one point, she points out, you're
(32:18):
just trying to get your five minutes of fame here.
You're not really interested in this topic. And it's true.
But when you get too feisty and too defiant, then
they can lump you all together and say, look at
this is what this administration senys. I'm a United States
senator on behalf of the people have a right to
ask the legal standing for this question, and they won't
answer it. You can't walk into stuff like that. That's
equally as bad. But there were a lot more good
(32:39):
moments and we'll be sharing them with you in Sounds
of the Day.
Speaker 5 (32:42):

Former FBI Director James Comy is set to be arragned
today on two federal charges. Mark Mayfield has that story.
Speaker 9 (32:54):
Kobe has been charged with obstruction of justice and making
false statements by the Justice Department. The case is connected
Komy's testimony before Congress in twenty twenty. He's accused of
lying to the Senate Judiciary Committee about leaking information from
the FBI's Trump Russia investigation that began in twenty sixteen.
Comy is expected to appear in person for his arrangement
in Alexandria, Virginia.
Speaker 1 (33:14):
I'm Marknefield. President Trump is suggesting that some furloughed government
workers could receive back pay, why others won't.
Speaker 10 (33:21):
Trump's commons follow a memo from the Office of Management
and Budget which raised the possibility that federal workers may
not be entitled to back pay from their time off
during the government shutdown. The President says, quote, it really
depends on who you're talking about when asked about compensation
for furloaed workers, and he blamed Democrats for putting their
jobs in jeopardy. Despite uncertainty regarding back pay eligibility, President
(33:43):
Trump added that quote, for the most part, we're going
to take care of our people. I'm Tammy Trhuello.
Speaker 1 (33:48):
Dolly Parton's sister is asking for fans to pray for
the singer as she battles health issues. And the Tigers, well,
they're down two games to one now after losing eight
to four of the Mariners last night, but the Yankees
rally back down six to one to win nine to six.
They stay alive, trailing with the Blue Jays two games
to one. All four played today, Mariners and Tigers at two,
(34:09):
Brewers and Cubs at four, Jays and Yankees at six,
Phillies and Dodgers will be the late game at eight.
