take us along for the drive to work. But as
we always say, better late than never. Thanks for joining

(00:21):
us for the podcast by the New York and My
Morning show is your morning show with my little calendar boy,
Michael del Jorno.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
Showing your morning off right.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
Just take news, a new way of talk, a new
way of understanding, because we're in this together.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
This is your Morning show with Michael gil Trump.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
All of a sudden, the BBC is in the Scandal Telegram,
dug up an old misleading at it. You just grabbed
Neil Sedaka out of the blue to start the show.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
Sometimes I just see audio and I go, you know what,
that'd be a great way to start this show.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
Those are the moments when I realized there's a good
chance I'm not saying well, that's from when I went
through my little phase where I was watching the Neil
Sedaka reels every day on Facebook.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
Yeah, so now we would just call that a Tuesday.

Speaker 1 (01:20):
It's a Tuesday. Tuesday. Well yeah, all right, eight minutes
after the hour, Good morning, and welcome to Tuesday. November
the eleventh. I accomplished absolutely nothing. On Monday, November tenth.
I got off the air. It was it was we
call that a snizzle, okay, snow drizzle, just a light
where I was from that we were getting you got

(01:40):
more to the north. Yeah, yeah, yeah, we just had like,
you know, it looked kind of like Green Bay last night,
just a little wisp of snowflakes. It was really cold,
and there was just something that screamed, get in bed
and do nothing all day. Oh really? And then I
took a gas for Andrea. And you know, I'm always

(02:00):
griping about heat because my theory is if it's cold,
you can always put things on. Well, and it's hot,
you could be naked and you're just sitting there frying.
I mean, yeah, I hate heat. Yeah, but yesterday filling
up her gas and I'll give you an example of
how cold it was in Nashville. I'm watching the packers
last night, I go, gosh, can you imagine just the assumption,

(02:22):
if we're this cold, what are they in the frozen tundra?
And it was two degrees warmer in Green Bay. I
mean we were cold yesterday. It will never top the Sunday.
I was with Titans Radio and we got out beside
Lake Erie in Cleveland at the Brown State. Oh, when
the winds kicked up. I had on three.

Speaker 3 (02:42):
Layers and I opened the door and put my foot
on the parking lot concrete and it cut me in half.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
And I was I always tried to explain to my
son what that walk is like. So I was probably ten,
now I was probably eleven and went to a Bear's game.
I wanted to Oh Floyd running back Denver Broncos A
J Floyd was uh used to be a running back

(03:11):
for Syracuse anyway, he was playing for what was it Floyd?
Not Greg Floyd? No, oh, somebody Google, doesn't anybody have it?
That's your job, Google, Broncos great running back Floyd. Why
can't I remember his first name? He had more moves
than X slacks. You don't have it, Floyd, little Floyd little,

(03:36):
that's it. You're welcome, Thank you, sirih Now, that's Jeffrey
doing your job right. You should be embarrassed. That's not true.
That's not but we both get I want you I
played the Rejoins this hour. You don't want me to
do that. Gosh, can you amagine anyway Floyd Little was playing? Anyway,

(03:56):
it was it was below zero, and I think the
temperature was like four or five. Was Monday night football,
and obviously the windshill on Lake Michigan was below zero plus.
Snow was everywhere, and when you'd get to Soldier Field
back then, everything was bleachers and so snow was just

(04:18):
you had to push it onto the ground. So your
butts and snow, your feets and snow. It's zero degrees
and it's Monday night football, just to see Floyd Little.
But I got to tell you, when we were all
crammed together in the stadium, it was cold but tolerable.
But then the game ended and the long walk to
the car with no warm bodies around all, and that's

(04:41):
kind of how yesterday felt. I'm filling up the gas
tank and I'm thinking to myself, you know what, not
so fast, wanting to go like to Maine or somewhere North.
Maybe I don't want to be cold cold, not just
that it got cold quick. I had to just be
put in an incubator at my diaper changed and lived
the life life of an EQ baby.

Speaker 3 (05:01):
I don't want if you're anything out of the even
one of you two, because you get up in the morning,
you go to your little home studios, and they don't
need to know that.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
Shut up yet. Where's Nancy Pelosi when I need her
shit up? It's Veterans Day, ladies and gentlemen, twenty twenty five,
Monday November the eleventh, or Tuesday November the eleventh, on
the air and streaming live on your iHeartRadio app. Good morning,
this is your morning show set. It voted last night
to end the record breaking government shutdown, and the knives

(05:29):
are out and running up and down the halls of
Congress looking for Chucky Schumer delays and cancelations. Let me
put this into perspective because we've just been kind of saying, well,
they're easing up to ten percent, but those ten percent
are at the forty busiest airports or is you like
to refer to it, are hubs. So that's where your

(05:51):
connecting flight is now. I live in a hub, so
you know, at least you don't leave if the flight's
been canceled. Today we're bumping up to six percent. What
does that translate to? Right now, there are five hundred
and forty one delays and eleven hundred and fifty seven cancelations.

(06:12):
So travelers, for sure, especially as we get closer to Thanksgiving,
can't have the shutdown fast over fast enough. In the end,
I really think the travel we have a lot in
our sounds of the day. I think I think part
of what extended this delay was a bluff that failed

(06:34):
number one, number two the elections on last week, clearly
Tim Kaine making it crystal clear he wasn't engaged at
all in the government shutdown because he was focused on
the Virginia elections. Imagine there's your club of one hundred
for you now that the elections are over. Oh, he

(06:56):
cares about those that are hungry and snap, so snap airports.
That's what ends it. They continue with their civil war
and this will only add to that so much so
that we've got a council member who's going to run
against Jakim Jeffries, and you've got zoraon mom Donnie saying no, no, no,

(07:20):
a stands down, stands out. We don't need this right now.
It's just like it's an all out food fight in
the Democrat Party of who to blame, who to get
rid of. Bernie Sanders, still, I would think is the
ultimate leader of this socialist movement. That's why when I
see him passing the torch to AOC, I presume she
will be the front runner in the presidential election. But

(07:44):
he is. He is the one that's sending the signals
to all the underlings of where to take the civil war,
and he's setting the tone and the narrative will feature
that in our Sounds of the Day. First Basketball Major
League Baseball players are charged with taking payoffs to rig

(08:04):
prop bets. Prop bets are what everybody seems to be
focusing on. I believe it's running rampant here, and what sport?
I think it is running rampant. But you know, I
was driving. I was I went golfing with DZ on Saturday,
and I was driving home. And of course, my whole
family's from Italy and upstate New York, so of course
I grew up a Syracuse Orange fan, and I still am,

(08:25):
even though I went to LSU. So he calls me
in the car to rib me that the cues is
down to Miami, which I expected to get blown out.
Our quarterback got hurt. Seasons shot. But he goes, you know,
the governing covering look the spread. Oh oh well, well
they won't they'll lose, and when the game ends, spreads

(08:46):
twenty eight and a half and Miami wins by twenty eight.
I mean at that moment when I'm thinking, or when
there's a flag thrown, you know, just a typical pass interference,
a typical you know, hand checking and stuff, and they
throw the flag and call pass interference. The thought that
we have of a fix, I'm telling you it's already

(09:08):
destroyed the integrity of the game. So we can talk
about the prop bets, but gambling has destroyed everything. And
I remember when we used to I mean, look what
they did to Brent Musburger. I mean they all but
ended his career over And that's why you throw football
at the backyard gets to be a quarterback. But I
remember when al Michaels would make subtle little comments, you know, well,

(09:32):
now the game's really over for those out there, they
know what I'm talking about. Everybody would giggle. And of
course now the whole game, the prop bets are scrolling
at the bottom of the screen. Every commercial is either
a pharmaceutical or a betting app. I mean, what we
have done to sports. And then now we're going to
look around and start, you know, saying, oh, it looks

(09:53):
like we got a problem. Yeah, you got a problem.
So it's not just a prop bet problem. Even if
it was just a that problem. It's impacting the game.
If that player isn't playing every play to win, the
integrity of the game is lost. And you know, it's
kind of like if you get lost in a forest,

(10:14):
how do you find your way back? Well, if you
left breadcrumbs, follow them out the same way you got lost,
walk your way back. Now they're going to try to
find the same people that brought you this gaming that
destroyed sports. They're going to be the ones in charge
of finding the solution. And there's a solution other than

(10:35):
get rid of all the gambling, Well, then who would watch?
See that's where the NFL, major League Baseball, and everybody,
including India cricket, they're loving this because when people bet,
they watch And we got those pharmaceutical ads that just

(10:55):
have to clear. Right, have you ever stopped and looked
at like MSNBCCNN, Fox News on television if not for
pharmaceutical ads? How they paying for all these people? Oh
but it wouldn't impact you know, their storytelling? Right? Would

(11:18):
sports be today if it didn't have all these gambling
site ads without enough money to pay these guys to
throw games? That's where we'd be. I mean, it's just chaos,
all right. So here's the day in a nutshell veterans day.
I want to tell you an important story coming up.
At five point thirty, Senate passes the bill to reopen

(11:40):
the government. The Speaker says, oh, he'll get it done tomorrow.
So the House is ready to finish the job tomorrow.
The president's ready to sign. I think it's all done
at the time we wake up Thursday morning. Now, how
quickly can that get snap benefits to those in need
and get flights back to normal before Thanksgiving time? Will tell?

(12:01):
Now she's saying it not to you, just you know,
she just pipes in every once in a while, BBC
cotton a scandal. Why now Red and I have batted
this around this morning. We other than you know, competitive demise.
But we'll play the clip of what they aired. A
memo surfaced about how they re edited the January sixth

(12:23):
speech of the President to make it look like the
president was calling for an insurrection. Whew, there's no sneeze button.
There's a cough button, but there's no stage button.

Speaker 3 (12:34):
You can't get on a red for coffin, and then
you come out with a sneeze like that.

Speaker 1 (12:41):
It says cough button, but it doesn't say sneeze button.
Use it for forty years, I have sneezed down the
air because there's no sneeze button. So anyway, make a
long story short. Trump's ready to sue and he's pulling like,
by the way, did you put that in my prep
with the doctor Evil? He's suing for one billion dollars? Wow? Well,

(13:04):
what do you get from CBS? What was the final total?
In sixty minutes? It was like fifty million? I think,
wasn't it for one hundred? Build his library with all
these lawsuit dollars? And the Eagles seven to three or
ten to seven rather one by three in Green Bay
last night on Monday night football. So we got a
lot to cover today, Missilia, miss a lot, miss a lot,

(13:25):
And we shall miss you on this Veterans Day, Tuesday,
November eleventh. We're living in a time where truth is
under attack. Lies they're easy, they're easy to tell, they're
easy to spread, and they're easy to get people to believe. Truth.
Truth is tough. Let's talk some truth Nowhere is the

(13:50):
cost greater than for a mother in crisis. When a
woman is told abortion is their only option, choice, but
you got to make the death choice. Silence and lies
surround her. But if she walks into a Preborn Network clinic, compassion, support,

(14:14):
truth and love surrounds her and the baby growing inside her.
That moment of truth happens through a free ultrasound. The
ultrasound is the game change for folks. I can't make
that point strong enough. When a woman sees her baby's face,
sees the heartbeat, here's the heartbeat. She chooses life fifty

(14:37):
percent of the time. And by the way, if your
pro choice, why do you care what choice she makes?
Pre Born Network clinics are on the front lines. We're
meeting women in their darkest hour. We're loving them, helping
them choose life, and then we walk with them from
up to two years. We don't just tell them to
choose life and then figure out how to pay for diapers.

(14:57):
And it all begins with that ultrasound. Eight dollars provides
one ultrasound and the opportunity for a mother to see
her baby and help choose truth and life. End of
the year giving time. I pray you will consider dialing
pound two fifty and saying baby, pound two fifty, say baby.
Or you can give online at preborn dot com forward

(15:17):
slash yms. YMS stands for your morning show. Consider giving
before the end of the year preborn dot com forward
slash yms or pound two fifty and say baby. You
won't just be giving, You'll be giving the gift of life.
Sponsored by Preborn.

Speaker 2 (15:34):
This is your morning show with Michael del Chrono.

Speaker 1 (15:39):
Let's bundle in on a few top stories, shall we.
The Senate voted Monday night to end the record breaking
government shutdown and reopen federal agencies, passing a bipartisan measure.
Sixty forty eight Democrats joined Republicans to break the stalemate.

Speaker 4 (15:53):
The final vote was sixty to forty, with all Republicans
except Rand Paula, Kentucky supporting the bill. The legislation now
heads to the House, which could vote as soon as
Wednesday to approve the package and send it to President Trump,
who announced his support for the bipartisan agreement earlier in
the day. Senate approval follow a lengthy series of votes
rejecting various amendments before consolidating the deal into a single package.

(16:14):
The bill includes a minibus of three full year appropriations measures,
including full funding verse snap Benefit's through next September, and
keeps most of the government running on a short term
basis through January thirtieth. I'm Mark Neefeer.

Speaker 1 (16:25):
We talked about this yesterday. Turkey prices will be up
forty percent for Thanksgiving over last year.

Speaker 5 (16:30):
That's largely because of the bird flu. The Farm Bureau
reports there were more than six hundred thousand cases in September.
It expects that number to grow as of now. That
means turkey will cost an average of a dollar thirty
to a pound. That's up thirty eight cents from twenty
twenty four. I'm Tammy Trichio.

Speaker 1 (16:45):
Well, we have the cause of death for Kiss guitarists
Ace Frehley, apparently blunt trauma injuries to the head from
a fall. Morris County, New Jersey Medical Examiner's office also
ruled the death was excident. The seventy four year old
founding member of the legendary rock group Kiss died on
October sixteenth. He apparently suffered a minor fall in his

(17:07):
studio the month prior. It later became his cause of death.
And the powerball jackpot will roll over once again, So
expect long lines at the convenience store. You want to
dash in, get and go, as they say, and there'll
be five people there buying tickets. Monday Night football. Last night,
it was cold, but the Eagles survived. They improved a
seven and three ten seven winner over the pack in

(17:28):
Green Bay. Leo actor Leonardo DiCaprio fifty one, Demi Morris
sixty three, the Great Stanley Tucci sixty five, Callista Flockhart's
sixty one. And if it's your birthday, Happy birthday. So
glad you were born. Thanks for making us a part
of your day.

Speaker 4 (17:44):
Hey, I'm Mike Aragon in Santel, Arizona and my.

Speaker 1 (17:47):
Morning show, it's your Morning Show with Michael der Jojo. Hi,
I'm Michael, and your morning show is heard on great
radio stations across the country like one oh five nine
twelve fifty WHNZ and Tampa, Florida, News Radio five seventy
WKBN and Youngstown, Ohio and News Radio one thousand KTOK

(18:11):
in Oklahoma City. Love to have you listen to us
live in the morning, and of course we're so grateful
you came for the podcast. Enjoy. Secretary of War Pete
Hegsas says the US carried out strikes on two more
alleged drug boats over the weekend. We're going to talk
a little bit about the effectiveness of this, and the
escalation of this, and the escalation of war with Russia

(18:33):
and Ukraine. Nobody's talking peace anymore. We'll do that with
Colonel Stephen Bouchi later. In the third hour Monday Night football,
the Eagles improved to seven and three, winning ten to
seven over the Packers in the almost frozen tun Drum
and delays and cancelations at airports are rising across to America,
even on this Veteran's Day. We are expecting five right now.
Currently there are five hundred and forty one delays and

(18:56):
there will be eleven hundred and fifty seven flight cancelations
today as we ramp up towards ten percent at the
forty busiest airports. Though the Senate voted last night to
end the record breaking government shutdown and the House is
ready to finish the job. Speaker Johnson express they should
have this done by tomorrow and the President is certainly

(19:18):
ready to sign. Now, how quickly can things be restored
prior to Thanksgiving? Travel? And today's Veterans Day, the day
we set aside to honor the millions who have worn
the uniforms of the United States st Armed Forces. When
I was younger, there was a bit of a I
guess conflating of Veteran's Day and Memorial Day, and people

(19:43):
would often confuse them. And it's really simple. Memorial Day.
We're honoring those who paid the ultimate sacrifice, who lost
their life in service to our country and our way
of life. They are all those who served. And this
really always hit home with me because when I was

(20:06):
very young, and I have the pictures now, I mean
I remember it, I just don't remember it with like
adult understanding. I just remember living it. Now. I do
remember that my dad had a friend who lived We
lived on a cul de sac and he lived just
outside the cul de sac in three houses down. Very

(20:27):
easy to remember because when you're a kid, you know
the people that like kids and don't. There's just certain
adults that make you the center of attention, and they're
always paying attention to you, and they're always playing with you.
And then he was unmistakable because he had a new
fee and as a child small I mean as an

(20:50):
adult a nuf he's huge, right, But as a child
it was bigger than life. And we had a Saint Bernard,
and this Newfee was big, and he was black, all black,
and his name was God. Now, in Steve's defense, he
really just didn't mean any disrespect. He just was It

(21:11):
was dog backwards God, and here comes this big, giant dog.
So the dog was memorable. Steve was memorable because of
the attention he would pay to us. And then his girlfriend,
Toot Tute was just a gorgeous, beautiful blonde. I'm only
five years old. I have a picture of me Toute
was coming over. It was my first crush and so

(21:32):
apparently Toot was coming over. So I got dressed up
for her. You noticed, I should post it on Facebook.
Later I want to put on this wild sport coat, which,
by the way, I'm trying to think what kind of
house did I live in that There was a sport
coat like that in my size waiting for me to
slide on with a pair of slacks, and then I
had this clip on tie and apparently I got all
dressed up because Tute was coming over. The tragedy was

(21:57):
with tut She was a Republic Airlines stewardess and plane
crashed and she died. And all I knew as a
child is the fun guy with the big dog was
gone for a long time, and when he came back,
he wasn't the same. He didn't laugh, he didn't play nothing.

(22:26):
And that was about the extent of my understanding. I
don't even know if as a child I'd connect the dots. Well,
maybe it's because two died I didn't know. Now flash forward,
I'm eighteen years old. I'm involved with campus Crusade for
Christ at Louisiana State University and the big plan is

(22:48):
to go on a spring break missions trip to Daytona Beach, Florida.
The fun part was all the campuses that were involved.
I mean, how often does a kid from a freshman
from LSU get to hang out with with Harvard University
college students. I even remember to this day I'm sixty
one years old. I still remember their chant ah h

(23:12):
all with a v v A v A v a
with a d havd havd raw raw. We all made
fun of him, but anyway, our purpose was to while
everybody traveled from all over the country to go get drunk,
have sex, have fun at spring break, our job is

(23:32):
to walk up with the four Spiritual laws and see
if you know Jesus and in the midst of your party,
let me tell you something. Gang tough sell. So we're
all in this room before we go out during the day,
they give the pep talk and I go out. I
probably was only thirty six steps from the motel room

(23:55):
on the beach when I come across this man sitting
very silent, and so I sat next to them. I
can't tell you, And you guys know, I talk for
a living and I was always kind of a friendly talker.

(24:19):
This guy didn't want to talk. Do you know how
long six seven hours goes by when no one's talking
and the seabirds are chirping and the waves are crashing.
So we get back to the room that night, and then,
as they do in campus crusades style, never mind faith

(24:44):
it's all about works. Let's get to the numbers. And
they would go around the room. How many people did
you share their four spiritual laws with? Did anybody commit
their life to Christ? You know? These people would go
like seventeen fourteen, twenty eight, thirty six, and they get
to me, and I'd say one, and I'll spare you
the drama. Day two, twenty six, fourteen, twelve thirty seven one.

(25:13):
And I can't tell you how many people you could
tell were judging me one all day only the guts
to talk to one, this one on for four days. Now,
by day two there was some small talk. By through
day three there was a little bit more meaningful talk.
By day four, this guy opened up. And I think

(25:37):
of the eighteen year old me spending four days on
a beach with a Vietnam veteran, which I'm not certain
I changed his life, but I can tell you he
changed mine. And I don't know how many millions I
have helped raise for the Special Forces Charitable Trust and

(25:57):
all I have done for the military. Probably my one
great regret is that out of high school I didn't
go serve. But I've been serving the military ever since,
and I think it's because of that guy. I know
it's because of that guy. So that's Steve Wiley at
five with God and tout. That's a Vietnam veteran on

(26:19):
the beach. Now, I'm like almost fifty years old and
I'm in the car with my dad, and I don't
know how Steve came up, I said, Dad, whatever happened
to him was he just never the same after Toot died.
And then Dad began to connect the dots of all

(26:41):
the people in Vietnam, the guy who always had time
for kids, the guy who made kids the most important
person in a room that's rare, gets a world away
in a jungle and one of the Veha Kang often
do use kids to walk in to army groups and

(27:08):
blow them up. And it was Steve's job to take
a kid out of all the people who had to
do that. You don't want to know the worst part
of the story, what happened to Steve and how he
coped with that. He didn't for long, and he ended

(27:31):
up taking his life. And that's why every Veterans day
I pay tribute to the guy on a beach and
to Steve. And I know the difference between Veterans Day.
And I know the difference between Memorial Day, because you
know you think the ultimate sacrifice is to lose your
life at war. But I'm telling you for many that

(27:51):
come home and are never the same, for the unspeakable
things they had to see and do and live with
and continue to live with, most of which will never
talk about it, not unless you got about five days
to spend with them on the beach. I'm here to
tell you they're heres, and on this Veteran's Day, I
will never forget you.

Speaker 6 (28:12):
If you look inside your home, you don't have to
be away of what you want.

Speaker 7 (28:24):
There's a lander if you rich and two look.

Speaker 8 (28:30):
A side.

Speaker 6 (28:32):
And the sorrow that you know womb to it, and
then here comes along with the strength to care, and
you cast your fiss sad and you know you can serve.

Speaker 7 (28:58):
So when you build like is gone, looking so much away.

Speaker 6 (29:04):
The strong and your finally see the truth that I
here lies.

Speaker 9 (29:12):
And you pat and you face the world when reached
a side a bit for you, Oh.

Speaker 7 (29:36):
You can by.

Speaker 10 (29:40):
Search way in the side and the engine sup and
then in here it comes alone. When the strength everywhere.

Speaker 9 (30:02):
And cast to be.

Speaker 11 (30:04):
Sun dog, you can't sid.

Speaker 7 (30:10):
Sway been like this girl looking stares tall any fun
see the true.

Speaker 11 (30:22):
Maddy, He tis you it's not not too far. But
don't let anyone.

Speaker 7 (30:40):
Tad say.

Speaker 11 (30:49):
It will be to fun.

Speaker 7 (30:54):
Tak to your fine body and casts and you by listen.

Speaker 10 (31:31):
Again.

Speaker 1 (31:35):
You know, the Bible says God knows our heart before
we ever say a prayer, so it probably doesn't chink
anything to say this out loud. All he knows. Someday
when I'm in heaven, what I wouldn't give if I
see that Vietnam Veteran herald and he comes running up
to me for the price of admission and to play

(31:57):
with Steve again with the ultimate God, Well that's a
dream I have. Listen. If you served, Yeah, Happy Veterans Day.
It's a special day to honor you because you've earned it.
And if you're carrying things and you've been carrying them
for a lifetime, I pray you find someone you can

(32:20):
