Speaker 1 (00:02):
This is the Labor Podcast with your host JJ zacheris
j J zacher Reson. What's up everyone, It's JJ zacharieson
in this episode ten to sixty four of the Late
Round Fantasy Football Podcast. Thanks for tuning in. I'm definitely
not upset at the results of last week's Sleepers episode.
(00:23):
There were definitely some misses. Deo Johnson only scored five
point nine PPR points, Jackson Dart could have been a
lot better.
Speaker 2 (00:30):
Woody Marks was just under.
Speaker 1 (00:31):
Eight PPR points, Kenneth Gainwell had just six point five,
Troy Franklin wasn't l and Ronne Gatston was too. But
there were some really good call outs that I'm happy about.
Jordan Love had a monster Thanksgiving. Kamani Videll he had
a huge game, Quentin Johnson found the end zone, Christian
Watson was awesome, Kaishaan Boodi, Jayden Higgins, Dalton Schultz, Harold
fan and Blake Korum, Tyler Schuck, Brenton Strange and Isaiah Likely.
(00:55):
They all had usable performances. And then add Night Mitchell.
He really topped it off with twenty five four PPR points.
It was a good week overall. I'm hoping we can
do that over the final month of the season. This
first tier consists of players rostered in fifty to eighty
percent of Yahoo leagues. We'll start with a couple of quarterbacks,
Trevor Lawrence and the Jags. They've a solid twenty three
(01:17):
point implied team total against the Colts this week. Indianapolis
has given up middle of the road numbers to quarterbacks
this year by adjusted points allowed, but at least Stas Gardner.
He has this calf injury that's listening him week to week.
This really just comes down to a decent enough matchup
combined with a solid implied team total and Trevor Lawrence. Honestly,
he's not playing terrible football. He's been a top twelve
quarterback option in each of his last three Those are
(01:40):
three games where Jacobe Myers has been more involved in
this offense. Since Week five, Lawrence is averaging eighteen and
a half standard Fantasy points per game. He's a solid
choice this week. Sam Darnold's another one. Seattle's in a
better spot this week than they were last week. They
get Atlanta, They're in a dome, and they have a
twenty six point imply team total. Well, Atlanta does rank
(02:01):
seventeenth and adjusted fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks. They're an
average matchup on paper. They've given up top six performances
to Bryce Young and Tyrod Taylor over the last three weeks.
Sam Darnold should be fine at running back in this tier.
Devin Neil I mentioned this on yesterday's ten Trends episode,
but Neil had really good peripherals and usage in Week thirteen.
(02:22):
He saw seventy four percent of the team's running back rushes,
he had a nine percent target share, and he had
seventeen total touches. The SATs don't have a great total
against Tampa Bay this week, but they never have a
great total. But the Bucks have been a top half
opponent for running MACKX this year by adjusted points allowed,
so you could do worse. And then I'll give Jordan
Mason a shout here too. Aaron Jones is day to
(02:42):
day with a shoulder issue, so he could easily go
this weekend, but the Vikings may lean a little bit
more on Mason. They also get a Washington team that's
given up the seventh most adjusted points to running backs
this season, and they've been below average and adjusted rushing
yards allowed to the position.
Speaker 2 (02:57):
There's not much.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
Receiving upside with Mason, especially if Aaron Jones plays, but
he could find the end zone in a plus matchup.
I really like the wide receivers in this tier. Jacoby
Myers is won. There's a chance that Parker Washington doesn't
go this week. I don't know for sure at the
time of this recording, and that could funnel more looks
Jacoby Meyers' way. As I say with Trevor Lawrence, the
(03:18):
Jags get the Colts. Indianapolis has been a top five
matchup for wide receivers this year by justin Fantasy points allowed,
and Myers has seen target shairs of twenty seven percent,
twenty percent, and twenty four percent over his last three games.
That's resulted in eleven, fifteen and twenty one PPR points.
He's a really underrated play this week. Christian Watson's another one.
(03:40):
The Packers are getting healthier, but Watson continues to see
good target sharers in this offense. He's been at thirty
three percent and thirty six percent over his last two games.
He's averaging over sixteen PPER points per game over his
last three, and now he's facing a Bears team that's
allowed the fifth most of justin Fantasy points to wide
receivers this year. The volume alone should make Watson usable.
(04:01):
Pat Bryant passed Troy Franklin last week in usage and
that could continue into Week fourteen and beyond. So spoiler alert,
I was gonna call out Pat Bryant later on in
the show, but both Pat Bryant and Troy Franklin work
this week because they get Vegas that's a team that's
allowed the tenth most adjusted points to wide receivers, and
Denver they have a solid twenty four point imply team total.
(04:24):
And then the last guy in this tier at wide receiver,
Alec Pierce. The Colts get the Jags this week, and
Jacksonville's been a below average team when it comes to
adjusted points allowed to wide receivers. They're a below average
matchup for wideouts, however, they've been specifically good against slot receivers.
They've been well below average at guarding the perimeter, and
Pierce plays on the outside at a very very high rate.
(04:46):
He's also seen seven targets per game over his last six,
so on paper, things are looking good for him at
tight end in this tier. Kyle Pitts has seen targets
hears of twenty five twenty six percent over the last
two weeks without Drake Lunn. Now, the Falcons get a
Seattle team that's obviously great defensively, but they've allowed the
six most adjusted points of tight ends this year. So
(05:07):
I think Pitts is a pretty usable player in Week fourteen. Now,
if Dalton Kincaid goes this week, you have to play him.
Cincinnati has been historically bad against tight ends. This year,
They've given him nine point six Ppier points per game
to team tight ends above expected this year. No other
team is higher than three point three when looking at
justin points allowed that way. So yeah, quite simply, if
(05:30):
Dalton kin Kate is back, he should probably be in
your lineup. And then, finally, I'm gonna keep up with
this Jags theme, I'm gonna go with Brenton Strange. The
Colts are a top five matchup for tight ends by
justin Fantasy points allowed, Parker Washington could be sidelined, and
Strange now is back to back top ten performances on
about a sixteen and a half percent target share. Man,
I'm really sorry about my voice, guys. I really wish
(05:51):
I was healthy I know how hard this is to
listen to. Trust me, it's just as hard to do
this podcast. But anyway, Brenton strange really good spot.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
Now.
Speaker 1 (06:02):
Throughout the season, I've been splitting these next sections up
into two groups. Players rostered in twenty to fifty percent
of leagues, and then players rostered in fewer than twenty percent.
At this moment, that middle group of players is just really,
really small. I think that naturally happens as the season
goes on. We kind of know who the good players are,
and then we just have a bunch of flyers. So
(06:23):
with that being said, through the end of the season,
I'm just gonna group all of these players below the
fifty percent mark into one giant tier because realistically, if
I only did the twenty to fifty percent tier, I'd
be talking about like four players. So let's just dig
in at quarterback. I'm gonna start with Tyrod Taylor. The
Jets get the Dolphins. While Miami's playing a little bit
better defensively, they still have a lot of QB one
(06:45):
top twelve performance in each of their last four The
last two they've been against Marcus Mariota and Tyler Shuck too.
Taylor's at least been competent throwing the ball, and then
he had forty four rushing yards in a rushing score
last week, so he's giving us some rushing upside too.
And speaking of Tyler Shuck, he's another quarterback.
Speaker 2 (07:03):
That you could look at.
Speaker 1 (07:04):
The Bucks are a top ten quarterback matchup by justin
fantasy points allowed, and Shuck actually has two top twelve
performances over his last three games. It's mostly just a
deep play here, though. You're hoping for a lot of
passing volume in a game with a negative game script,
but that can happen for sure. He has forty three
and thirty eight pass attempts over his last two games.
(07:25):
And then if Marcus Mariota goes again this week, if
he's their starter, you could look his way. Minnesota is
a tougher matchup, but Mariota he's been a QB one
in each of his last three starts, including last week
against Denver, arguably the toughest matchup in football. He's given
fantasy managers thirty six rushing yards per game in his starts.
That's a nice cushion each week. And with Terry McLaurin back,
(07:48):
we can feel a little bit more confident in his passing,
So I actually think that he's not a terrible play
at Minnesota this week. At running back in this group,
let's just stay with that same commander's team. Let's go
with Chris Rodrigus. It's another below average matchup, but Rodriguez
is clearly Washington's early down bruiser at this point. He's
seen running back rushers of fifty four fifty two percent
(08:09):
over his last two that's resulted in twenty six total carries.
As I always say, he won't get you that much
as a receiver, but in a game that may not
get away from Washington, there's less of a risk of
him being game scripted out. And he's got the goal
line upside too. I don't love him, but he's at
least fine as a baseline. There's also Blake Korum, the
(08:30):
guy I keep calling out on the show. There was
a report that came out on Wednesday that talked about
how offensive coordinator Mike Lafleur wants to keep Kyron Williams
fresh for the playoffs, which makes a ton of sense,
and that's definitely part of the reason that Blake Korum
has been in that forty percent running back rush share
range over the last month and a half. Now they
get Arizona, they should be able to face a positive
(08:51):
game script, and the Cardinals have been a fine matchup
for running backs this year by justin fantasy points allowed,
so Blake Korum works as a deeper play. Another back
to think about his samajp Ryan. The Bengals get the Bills,
and Buffalo's the third best matchup by just appoints allowed
to running backs. They've also allowed twenty running back rushing
yards over expected per game this year. That's the second
(09:12):
worst mark in the league, funny enough only to Cincinnati.
Speaker 2 (09:15):
But pe Ryan came back last week.
Speaker 1 (09:17):
He saw forty one percent snapshare and forty eight percent
of the team's running back rushes. In this kind of
matchup that may allow him to be fantasy relevant. Keaton
Mitchell's the last running back to shout out before we
go to a lot of wide receivers. But Mitchell, like
I said in the fifteen Transactions episode, he's been seeing
a little bit more action as a receiver for Baltimore
of late, and that's resulted in double digit percentage target
(09:39):
shaars in two of his last three. The Steelers were
dashed by the Bills on the ground last week, and
that's partially due to the fact that rookie Derek Harmon
he was out. He's been solid for that defensive line,
and he's out again this week. As we saw last week,
it only takes a couple of touches for Keaton Mitchell
to pay off. He's a highly volatile desperation flex as
(10:00):
as a result, now wide receiver, Let's start with a
more obvious one with Adnai Mitchell. I talked about him
last week on the show and then on the fifteen
Transactions episode, but Mitchell has now seen target shairs in
his three games as a Jet of twenty four percent,
twenty six percent, and thirty nine percent. That's pretty wild,
and as we saw last week, he has the ability
(10:20):
to generate big plays.
Speaker 2 (10:22):
Now.
Speaker 1 (10:22):
The Jets get Miami this week. The Dolphins are a
pretty average matchup for fantasy wide receivers across the board,
so the matchup really shouldn't scare you off. The only
downside is that when teams face Miami they usually see
a lower pass rate, about six percentage points lower than normal,
so there could be a slight volume concern with Adni
Mitchell in this matchup, but he's seeing so much work
(10:43):
that he's clearly not a bad play. It doesn't sound
like aman Ros Saint Brown's going to go this week,
so Isaac Tesla should get more run. You honestly could
look at Tom Kennedy two, who's a wide receiver and
not your local financial advisor. Now I prefer Tesla because
he ran more routes and plays more of a perimeter
role in that Lion's offense, and Detroit gets Dallas. The
(11:06):
Cowboys have been the worst team at stopping wide receivers
this year by justin fantasy points allowed, they've also been
horrible against outside wide receivers. So again I prefer Tesla.
But then Tom Kennedy, who saw a fifteen percent target
chair last week. He's not a horrible super deep league play.
And speaking of super deep league play, I'm gonna call
out Rashad Bateman. Bateman has only seen seven percent and
(11:30):
three percent target shaars over his last two games, but
he was also coming off an ankle injury in Week thirteen.
Prior to that, he saw target shaars of eighteen percent
and seventeen percent. The Ravens get the Steelers.
Speaker 2 (11:41):
This week.
Speaker 1 (11:42):
Pittsburgh's defense is really struggling. They struggled in particular against
outside wide receivers this year, allowing the second most pper
points per game to the perimeter. Bateman runs the vast
majority of his routes from the outside. It's very much
a deep desperation play, but the route chare and the
matchup is there. Dantavian Wicks is probably a safer bet.
(12:04):
He's seen targets shares of twenty nine percent, eight percent,
nineteen percent, and twenty five percent over his last four games.
He's had routchhaares of eighty percent and seventy percent over
his last two. Now, if Jayden Reid and Matthew Golden
are still sidelined, I don't mind him against the aforementioned
Bears defense that's been a top five match for wide
receivers this year by justin Fantasy points allowed. But if
those guys are healthier, if they're playing, it's gonna be
(12:26):
a little bit more difficult to play Dontavian Wicks. I
talked about the Von Vailey on the show earlier this week,
and he's in another good spot against the Tampa Bay
defense that ranks just outside the top ten and adjust
the points allowed to wide receivers. Veile has seen his
target share increase in each game since Rashid Shaheed was traded,
and with the Saints being underdogs in this game, there's
(12:46):
a real chance we see some passing volume that could
keep Veley afloat and make him a reasonable waiver wire option.
Now at tight end, Harold Fannin has been getting so
much volume in the Browns offense, and he had a
ninety three percent participation rate last week, the highest of
his season and career. He's averaging almost a twenty five
percent target share per game rate over his last six.
(13:08):
Now Tennessee is not some like amazing matchup, and that
game could be really ugly and low scoring, but Fannin's
usage makes him a worthwhile streamer.
Speaker 2 (13:19):
Darren Waller's another one.
Speaker 1 (13:20):
I talked about him earlier this week as well, and
the Dolphins get a Jets team this week has been
pretty neutral overall for tight ends this year.
Speaker 2 (13:27):
Waller lines up all over the field. Though Waller hit.
Speaker 1 (13:30):
A fifteen percent target share last week and his route
share was close to the seventy percent mark. That could
be enough for him to find your lineup and then
The last tenan to talk about is Colby Parkinson. Parkinson
has seen a thirteen percent target share per game rate
over his last four which is fine but it's not great.
But it was up to a nineteen percent target share
this past week, and that's in a Rams offense that's
(13:53):
one of the best in the league. He's also seen
a pair of end zone targets over that stretch, which
is around a top twelve number at tight end. And
now the Rams will face a Cardinals team that's allowed
top ten numbers of tight ends this year both an
adjusted points allowed and adjusted target share allowed. You're mostly
hoping for a touchdown with them. But among the guys
who are barely rostered, I like Parkinson most. There are
(14:14):
some decent streaming defenses this week. I mentioned earlier in
the week that I like Miami against New York, but
Washington naked work against Minnesota Tennessee actually isn't a bad
play against Cleveland. And then don't forget about Tampa Bay
if they're still available. They have a great rest of
season schedule too. That's it for today's show, though, Thanks
