Secrets of the River

In February 2010, Mackenzie Cowell was a high school senior and aspiring model who was studying at a Washington beauty school. After missing a dinner date with her father, he received a call from police saying his daughter’s car was found abandoned on a ranch, 40 miles from their home. Four days later Mackenzie was found dead along the banks of the Columbia River. DNA evidence connected Chris Wilson, a classmate of Mackenzie's, to the murder. “48 Hours" correspondent Peter Van Sant reports. This classic "48 Hours" episode last aired on 8/9/2014.
