Evening Edition: Former President Trump Survives Assassination Attempt

A gunman fired shots from a roof at former President Trump at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania today. In a statement on Truth Social, Trump says he "heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin." Secret Service killed the gunman who perched on a roof just hundreds of yards away from the rally.   Former President Trump's communications team released a statement saying that "President Trump is doing well" and "looking forward to joining you all in Milwaukee."
