Speaker 1 (00:14):
Pushkin hay Slight Changers Maya here. I have been dying
to share this news with you for quite some time,
and so I'm very happy that today I finally can.

(00:38):
I wrote a book. It's called The Other Side of Change.
Who we become when life makes other plans. It's truly
the thing I'm most proud to have created in my life,
and it is available today for pre order. You can
find it at Changewithmaya dot com, Forward slash Book, or

(00:59):
at the link in our episode description. This book is
all about how we can find meaning in the tumult
of change. It's part narrative and part practical guy rooted
in my expertise as a scientist who studies human behavior.
For this project, I sought out a new set of
people you've never heard from on the podcast who have

(01:19):
absolutely remarkable stories of change. I interviewed them at length
on repeated occasions over a period of several years. There
are so many lessons they teach us through their stories,
But at its core, the book challenges us to revisit
our relationship with change altogether. What if we saw change
not just as something to endure, but as an opportunity

(01:43):
to reimagine who we are, what new potential could we unlock.
Sometimes the toughest moments in life help us find out
who we really are and who we can become. So
if you're listening and are like yes, Maya, the Other
Side of Change is the book for me, I would
really appreciate it if you could pre order it today.

(02:03):
It hits shelves in January, and pre orders are actually
super important. They help get the word out about a book,
and they energize bookstores and just build much needed buzz. Okay,
so that's my news. I wanted to end just by
sharing a quick thank you to everyone in the Slight
Change community who have been listeners of this show. I've

(02:25):
appreciated your brilliant and thoughtful and compassionate reflections on change
over the years on those late nights when I was
really struggling with writing and kind of wanted to bang
my head against the wall. You are a huge source
of inspiration and I would often reflect back on all
that you had shared with me over the years. So
I've written this book for all of you, and I

(02:46):
really hope you'll find it helpful no matter what kind
of change you're facing. All right, stay tuned for more updates,
and as I mentioned, the link for pre order is
available in our episode description, and so is a link
to a People magazine feature that just came out today
announcing the news. We'll be back in a week with
a new episode of A slight Change of Plans. See

(03:07):
you then,
