Speaker 1 (00:15):
Pushkin. I'm always very cautious when it comes to talking about,
let's say, in the journeys. I mean, have you ever
heard of anything so vain? I'm going to encourage you
never to listen to my podcast. Who do we become

(00:37):
when we travel? I have never flown without wearing a
suit in time? I refuse to do it. Who are
we allowed to be? Those blue American passports? As powerful
as they are, it doesn't work the same for everyone.
And where is everybody going? What's my ideal vacation? I
do love to sit near the ocean and drink. Join me.

(00:57):
Brendan Francis Newnham for Not Lost Chats a many season
of conversations with writers, actors, and others who all have
one thing in common, the travel bug. When I went
to a rural bar side of Muscle shows Alabama, and
it was kind of like a Pee Wee Herman movie
where I walk in and the jukebox stops and everyone
stares at me. Each episode, I'll share a postcard from

(01:18):
where I've been. The way LA just choose up and
spits out like they just counsel. You're trying to reinvent itself.
You can't sum it out better than the Chipper Nile's
place being a dialysis center. Talk to a travel writer
about their work. I recall a couple of years ago
being in a target and literally, for like maybe fifteen seconds,
I could not remember what city I was in. And
since I got asked for practical travel advice all the

(01:40):
time and I don't really know what I'm talking about,
I've asked some famous freaking flyers to come in and
answer your questions. If I'm sitting in the seat and
the person beside me is acting, I rate, I'm gonna
call flight attendant before I stick my size thirteen foot
up there. Tiny ass, not lost chats. It starts January fourth.

(02:04):
It's perfect listening for a road trip, waiting in a
TSA line, or if you're at home doing the dishes,
trying to avoid your roommates or family. I think it's
actually a crime for children to sit in business class
or first class. Why because what kind of business do
you have? Until then, bon voyage

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
