ויקי כהן, אימו של החטוף נמרוד כהן, סיפרה היום (ראשון) אצל נורית קנטי בגלצ: "היו תקוות שהביקור בוושינגטון יוביל לעסקה כי שמענו כל מיני הצהרות, גם של הנשיא טראמפ, שתהיה הפסקת אש בקרוב. הימים חולפים ואנחנו לא רואים שיש עסקה וזה מאכזב. אנחנו למודי ניסיון ונחלנו אכזבות בעבר אז אנחנו לוקחים את הדברים בערבון מוגבל אבל בכל זאת יש תקווה שדברים יתקדמו. אנחנו נושאים פנינו בתקווה לעתיד ועוקבים בדריכות אחרי הפרסומים. מי שאמור לעדכן על המשא ומתן היא מנהלת השבויים והנעדרים וכבר הרבה ימים לא קיבלנו שום עדכון".
היא הוסיפה: "בעלי חזר רק ביום שישי האחרון מוושינגטון עם משלחת של משפחות ממטה משפחות החטופים. הם נפגשו עם הסגן של אדם בוהלר והשתמע מדבריו שהפעם ארצות הברית תלחץ יותר שהעסקה תושלם, על ישראל ועל חמאס".
