בפרק הרביעי של שְׁכַר סוֹפְרִים מתארח אצל שי עמית פרופ' יגאל שוורץ, אחת הדמויות החשובות ביותר היום בספרות העברית. חוקר ספרות, עורך, מרצה וסופר. אדם שהקדיש את חייו לשמירה על הספרות העברית וחיבורה לכלל החברה הישראלית. מעל 350 ספרים עברו תחת עריכתו וביניהם טובי הסופרות והסופרים בדורות השונים. יצאנו לטייל יחד בפרדס רחב ובית קטן עם ילד שהופך לעלם וקורא תיגר על ילדותו נטולת הילדות. בין עשרות ספרי מחקריו שכתב וספר פרוזה אחד, שוחחנו ללא פילטרים (כמעט) על מהו בית, על דם הונגרי יהודי שצריך לפענח ורעיה מרוקאית שתמיד חזה. התרגשנו יחד משומרת אחיה שנעלמה, ואל תוך הוואקום שהותירה נכנסו הספרות, המילה הכתובה וצמח פרא אדם. עזבנו ממלכה ספרותית בעיר הקודש, רק כדי להגיע אל הנגב ולהקים אימפריה גדולה פי כמה. ברגעי הפוגה נחשפנו למוטיבציה הפנימית לחיות את החיים עד תום ומבלי להתחרט על הכרעות, שמפעילה אותו גם היום. יגאל לקח אותנו אל המשקל הסגולי של ייעודו מבלי שביקש להציג עצמו ככזה - גשר נצחי שעוד יילמד בתולדותינו - בין מה שהיה, למה שהווה, למה שיהיה.
