Pedro Bingre do Amaral é professor na Escola Superior Agrária do Instituto Politécnico de Coimbra (IPC) e presidente da Liga para a Protecção da Natureza (LPN). Estudou na Universidade Técnica de Lisboa, pela qual é licenciado em Engenharia Florestal e mestre em Planeamento Regional e Urbano. Desde 1998 foca o seu trabalho de docência, consultoria e investigação na temáticas do ambiente, conservação da natureza, florestas, ordenamento territorial e política de solos (rústicos e urbanos).
