Tim Whiting had a call with 8CCC Big Brekky to tell listeners about this weekend's events. As part of a not-for-profit community organisation, The Brahma Kumaris, he has taught and studied meditation and the supporting philosophy for 26 years.Starting in India in the 1930's the Brahma Kumaris (BKs for short) are a global community who teach meditation and self development. They recently celebrated 50 years of service in Australia. The BKs are the largest spiritual group in the world led by women. Their programs are run on a not for profit basis, funded by voluntary contributions.
Tim has arranged a couple of talks to take place in July at Unit 10/10 Smith Street in Ciccone, free to attend. The topics are; The Gift of the Present (Saturday 19th July from 2:30pm to 4:30pm) and Soul Purpose, (Sunday 20th July 11:30am to 1:30pm). Each of the sessions will include a talk and guided meditation.
