load of wins and realistically should have been there. But
obviously Frio stepped in and ensure they missed. What we're

and also what they need to do in the off season,
and of course a grade.

September was injuries. Because when they got their team back,
they were playing good footy and good enough to be

twenty plus five goal games. It's just so hard to

he's going to be the start. Do you think he'll
win their best in Paris Brodie Grundy.

one that was hard to decide for Sydney because they
don't have any store walk guys that are you know,
twenty one and under that absolute guns that you thought
this season they're going to be great, Like you've obviously
got the likes of it's a totally cleary that we're
in and out of the side, but they never really

made a statement like Riley Bis's limited games, but then
he is also twenty five years already sort of mature.
They do.

They're in a good position where they don't have they're
not all aging, but they are really quite established in
that mid twenties range.

Aren't that. So I've gone with Matt Roberts just to
certify a bit more bit more possession. He's a lot clean,
He's got a lot more games under his belt this season,
he's had an increased role. I think with Callum Mill's
missing majority of.

This it was very good when Calum Mills was out
at the side, and I think he still found his
place when Calm came back into so good cheer.

So I think a role on their side at least
for the next season and beyond what they need in
the off season, well, I just think it's a proven
tool goalkicker, because someone who can certify fifty sixty plus
a season. That's why we've already seen them linked with
Charlie Kurno, who was rumored with a move away from
the Blues. And I think Amarti he's a great player.

I don't think he's the number one key time. He's
a great second tool, I think Joela Marty. So he
needs someone with the pressure on him, a pressure to
take away from him, and he will get that second
tool defender.

So can I pose a question just off the cuff,
if they did land Charlie Kerner, are they all of
a sudden like a premiership favorite for next season?
Speaker 6 (06:41):
If they are, provided they stay fit with.

That midfield they have, they have to be in the
discussion to top.

The only problem with them is that Sydney is the
sort of team as we've seen in recent years. Love
him to make the Grand Final, but you can't back
hitting it if I want to be on for the flag.
So I just want to get to go deep, win
a minor premiership, win some finals. Yeah yeah.

And there's some players there that just heaven hasn't haven't
hit the heights for in these positions like the tall
four withd like Logan McDonald, he has just fallen off
a cliff really from the heights.

We thought all in on Charlie Kurno and give up
your draft capal and just have a crack, right I think.

So that's so what's their great I want to give
them a fair sea just because I believe injuries derailed
the start of.

Obviously meals missed a lot good and missed the lot
pappily missed a lot. Injury sort of derailed and we
saw at the end of the season they beat some

clubs to review there is, and that's the Carlton.

how your bottom five or six perform, not about your
best five. They definitely don't have the best five anymore,

users and they need to go out and find ball
users in every part of the ground.

half back wing role nicely, and over eighty percent in
terms of disposal efficiency. I think he's one that could
definitely play a role for the Blues in that position
and potentially in McGovern Williams swap with a few.

And I think that you just and absolutely get as
much capital as you can for him. So what you
do is you try and you make it work. You
can involve other clubs and you get him what you need.
Because if you have one really good key forward, you're
in a better position than some other clubs.

If you have two, you're better than just about everyone.

So we've seen We saw Colinwood do it with Frampton
and Cox. We saw Melbourne do it with a cooked
Ben Brown and Tom McDonald. You don't need two key
forward guns to win a flag. In fact, we don't
really see it. When's the last key forward that won
a Norm Smith Medal? Gary Abbut nine point eighty.

Nine, Plenty of small forwards win them.

We've seen that midfielders win them, defenders even win I
don't know if having the two keys is the answer,
so I think that there is so many other areas
around the ground that you need to fix, starting with
your kicking and the delivery, because I would suggest working
on better delivery.

The one key forward is far better than just continually
bombing it to two.

So I know that they're tied to to Kurno or Mackay,
whoever it is. I think that And the other one
you could you could look at is maybe you look
at Walsh.

off season, look, they've already all but secured t DK

what they need. They've got Roland Marshall. But look, it
does that signing was assumed TDK does go to Saint Kilda.
That signing does a Marshall to move.

pay forward, right, So you could literally rotate and go, okay,
well we don't know, can we're going to rotate Marshall
and TDK as Ruckman full forwards.

want a bullish midfielder who can also hit the scoreboard

out the bat I'm looking at like a Christian Petrak
who's possibly been rumored to leave the league Melbourne. He's
a bullish midfielder who can hit the scoreboard.

But we will have a look at the clearance stats
for Saint Kilda this season and because mccrane eat help right,
he finished with about one hundred and forty clearances. That's
forty more clearances than any other Saint Kilda player despite
missing the better part of a month two months of
footy with injury. And the second was Jack Steele who
just about cracked one hundred, who was coming onto the sub.

It was like one of the first captains ever to
be the sub.

I do think win how you can be that player
and if you want to, but you can't just keep going.
We'll tag him for half the games this year. We'll
get him as a tagger and then we'll have him
as a pul midfielder, so in that you either put
him certified tager or certified midfielder. And if you put
him as a certified midfielder and ross Lyin does want

to persist with that tagging role, I think someone like
Alex Chincotter, who's out in and out of the Carton team,
who was actually proven to be a more than capable
tagger would be the answer. If you want to put.

Imagine a ross Iim world in which he doesn't want
to have a tagger there.

it's not as needed.

They are really young, and we're not you're not getting
enough from the others. We're not expecting McCray to come
out and have that many clearances again, are we I
mean he's going to He's going to start to bottom
down stuff exactly.

I just think they need goal scorers though, like I
gat the midfield points.

But they do, which is why in my thinking was
because they're going to get t DK Marshall moving forward.

I love Koob Sharp signing. If they do get Ryan
is good. They've got Higgins, they need King Fit.

Yeah, Higgins is one of the best more forwards in
the competition, but I think Kings.

Where are we going to get the best footy out
of him?

I think he's starting probably seventy five twenty five forward
mid then your build his base getting out of the midfield.

Yeah, maybe not next year the year after anyway. And
great from Ross at the start of the year and
a number of people have spoken about this thing. Aman
Canecorn's talking about it when when he was talking about
the difference between Melbourne and Sint Kilda this year was
the way they set up expectation on their Footy Cup.

Ross Lyne was very much No, No, we're not ready.

about some Kilder's year, there has been no expectation. The
only thing anyone's talked about Kilder is nas nas nas

I think there's a lot to look forward to. So

I think they're starting to compete a lot more than
especially last year with the bigger sides. They even went

at Marvel, which I know that that is probably like
their bogey Gelong's bogey side it is. But the winning

he's had an increased role. I think with Callum Mill's

Is there an area in the draft that the air
on the ground that they look at.

Well, there's a boy by the name of Cooper duff Titler.

I believe he's a ruckman, one of the best prospects
in this draft.

Him, I think Richmond should be all over him as
the name replacement for a couple of years time.

of the draft order, when yeah, it is risky, but

Too top, yeah, I guess, yeah, maybe they could they
go honestly prackice, package those up, go later in the draft.

Or go for a star playing future is so bright.

I think they've got a lot of like experience, I

Taranto, You've got Hoper, Nank, you know Lynch, Pressa, these
guys Boston and Broad as well.

I think you can you get a key forward.

And Lynch work with him and get him.

have Lynch there, who's probably got one or two years left.
But they do have a I guess, an array of
key forwards that are untested.

You've got arms Strong fall Sims, these guys force it away.
You've got to wait and see on them.

I don't mind the idea, but you're just adding another
sort of untested guy into that mix.

But twenty eight goals as you're leading goalkicker for the season.

So I feel like the other clubs around them. North
have got Lakie, West Coast have got Watermen.

Without notice, you're Richmond, You're looking at all this draft capital,
all these young picks. You've probably got the best crop
of young players because Smiley, hot and or Class, all
three of those could be the best part from this draft.
No other team has three options. Other teams have one
or two. They have three players. We haven't even seen Smiley.

He was going to go number one originally and then
the injuries got involved. So you have three guys that
may be the best thing. Pennybody said. Hoton is probably
the best of them and we've seen all he went one,
so they're in a great position. John Long, myyer, is
on the market. Adam Simpson is on the market. Goodwin's
on the market. Ken Ingle is now on the market.
Do you buite the board and go thanks for a

and get a premiership or an experienced coach, because I
know for now there is.

coaches available. Adam Simpson who did a great job at
West Coast and then was just sort of like he
was a victim of a two team absolute footy man
town in the end, and a list and and injuries
and all of those things. Adam seems go to be
a great option with John Longmeyer is one of the

better coaches of the last two decades.

Yeah, I mean, look, it's hard to pass up on.
I'm just skeptical because I just feel like they can build,
like they can do it all again.

I really struggled to pick the best player for West
Coast in all honesty, but I went with Lean Baker.

he's going to miss the last game. He's going to
miss the starter next season with suspension, so true, but
I think he's just been ultra consistent all year for us,
like he.

Was as advertised. This is what they this is what
they brought in, and he delivered what he delivers.

He turns up every week. He's a great cup man,
he's a great leader.

He just did it for them.

I want to give it. And I thought McCarthy probably
was a mid season draft. He came in probably too
late for the season, but he had another great year.
He had the like of Ryan Marritch as well, who
was was very good. But I want to give a
quick shout out to ruined Jimbi's efforts. I think it's
being out of position, I believe as a key back

often like he was playing in Jeremy Cameron and like
for a player that young, and I think like that's
not his best spot, like injuries and what have led
him to that position for West Coast this season. So
I think still the best is to come. So I
just think pure purely his efforts. You didn't hear a
peep out of him, like he didn't. He didn't look
like he didn't give a crap or like ego, so

one being played our position here. He was just putting
his all in every single game. So shout out to
the room, Jimmy. In terms of young guns, it's gonna
be Harley Reid doesn't that second year, how bloody goes
I know, two year contract extension which just secured into
twenty twenty eight. So West Coast fans, we love him
that he's a promometer. We saw snippets of what he

can see even with the pressure of him being the
guy around in his career at that club, He's going
to be a great, great player. Absolutely what they need
in the off season. I've just mentioned him already been
the guy they need experience, Yeah, to take the pressure off,
especially with the likes of Dom She didn't play basically retired,

Yoh didn't play all year, McGovern force to retire, Waterman
didn't play pretty much all year, Oscar Allen's now moving
away from the club and didn't play the majority of
the season, So they missed the whole scoop of experience there.
So if they all those guys played this year and
they still had the likes of you know, like a
Jack Ray and Aleiam Baker, these sorts of players. Tim

Kelly is still in the side. They would be getting
more than one one win in the season, definitely, But yeah,
with all those out and look like they're getting forced
out with injuries or traded, they definitely need more experience
and an experienced defender.

In my eyes, it's a great shout. What was the
grade we gave them?

I gave them an F Obviously, you've win one game
a year, like you kind of has to be. It
kind of has to be.

There's not many, there's not many one win seasons.

It was two in me that was like going to
give him an he out of pity, just because of
all the names that he'd mentioned the season.

It's great, one win season, brutal.

They they will be fine because they are the biggest
richest cover in the man really I'm not probably not
the biggest, but they're they're the wealthiest, and they have
just they win fags in every decade, one of the
best twenty ten's like they will we find they will
