just on the other couch and he's actually taller than.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
Me today because I'm dead sunk. It's Lee mccalliy.
Speaker 3 (00:24):
Hey, STA's going looking over the top of you for once.
This couch is really comfy, surprisingly and the studio I'm loving.
Then you set up the new boards really good.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (00:32):
We'll slowly be building this over the coming weeks and
months and over there. Fresh after climbing the Adelaide Oval,
driven into Camri, got an Adelaide Guernsey and ended up
in a country bar on Thursday night.
Speaker 4 (00:42):
It's Jess Robinson that was meant to stay with China.
Speaker 2 (00:47):
Everyone was at a bar on Thursday night, is true?
Speaker 4 (00:50):
Pretty sure half of Melbourne was at this one.
Speaker 3 (00:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (00:53):
But of course here on the AFL Today's Midweek Madness
Ports you by tabbing their AFL is missed by one
of your disposals like a missus by one are wrong,
tab will still pay you out as a winner. Download

Speaker 3 (01:05):
Twenty nine touches and we got paid People missed out
on that one, but we didn't.
Speaker 2 (01:08):
We didn't. We got paid out.
Speaker 1 (01:09):
But of course Midweek Madness Show, as always, we'll talk
about the winners and the losers of the week. Also
we'll just have some gather around talking points because there's
a lot to talk about.
Speaker 2 (01:17):
We also have the Thursday night footy preview.
Speaker 1 (01:20):
It is a massive clash between Brisbane and Collingwood up
at the Gabba.
Speaker 2 (01:23):
Ol boy cannot wait for that.
Speaker 1 (01:25):
But please make sure you do follow AFL Today on
ex Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube. Make sure you subscribe
on YouTube, hit the notifications so anytime we do a
video it comes up in your feed and as well
all the social media's. Please get around that. But let's
hit on some talking points. Yeah why not, Jess, you
did yours a little bit differently. You you climb the
alleaied oval. I want to talk about that because I'm
(01:46):
definitely afraid of heights and you did the lean.
Speaker 2 (01:48):
I was like, nah, I'll be glad.
Speaker 3 (01:49):
I wanted to do it, but I would be so.
Speaker 5 (01:51):
Scared if anyone saw my TikTok that I posted. I
Alex did. Yes, I attempted to do lean and I
was really confident. I you know, went in strong and
then I like it was really scared. But all the
guys that I went up there with, they were like
really confident and just did it so easy like feelers
(02:13):
and yeah I was I was self. But it was
a really fun experience South Australia. Thank you for giving
us that opportunity to go do that. And it was
a hot day. I mean we were sweating in these suits.
But one experience it was incredible. Just like literally climbed
the top of that the oval.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
It was unreal game up there.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
I could do the lane back on the on the
fence there, not the lane back like the ground the lion.
Speaker 2 (02:43):
This is pretty cool.
Speaker 3 (02:45):
I wish we'd thought of that beforehand because filming, You're
I reckon it would have been very funny. Stress I
sweating the whole day, yeah, but it would have been funny.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
I did next year, I did paragliding in Austria because
I was in Australia, I'm going yeah, but no, it's
one of those when am I going to be in Austria,
parag that was.
Speaker 4 (03:04):
My thoughts when it Adelaide.
Speaker 2 (03:06):
Yeah yeah, right, so vibes of gathering.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
Is Adelaide over the best ground to watch footy out
in Australia And I'm saying this without having been to
the new of the stadium, which I hear is a leak.
Speaker 3 (03:18):
Yeah, that's the same as me. I would love to
go up the stadium. But I've put this in there
because that is the best sporting ground overall. Like food, drinks,
you consider anywhere on the ground and you've got a
great view. Maybe not at the back of the hill
when you're a bit of a short like me, but
I just think overall, the way it's done, just the
way they handle it all is the best ground for
sport in my opinion.
Speaker 5 (03:37):
I thought it was pretty unreal as well, and you
know at sunset and it was just visually beautiful.
Speaker 4 (03:44):
Yeah, it was really nice. I mean mcg is always
going to be yeah, but she's like a favorite.
Speaker 3 (03:49):
It is still my favorite in terms of atmosphere.
Speaker 5 (03:51):
But the atmosphere, yeah, absolutely, But Adelaide omals just.
Speaker 3 (03:55):
A not nicer and newer.
Speaker 2 (03:56):
Big fan of Adelaide.
Speaker 1 (03:57):
I do love when the SCG gets rocking because you've
got the old ladies in members stand there. True, so
it looks it looks cool. But Adelaide with the hill
of the old school board, big fan.
Speaker 3 (04:05):
Yeah, I did love the old school people just manually.
That's cool. Yeah, very cool.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
Was the Barossa Parker hit stats guy? You were the
one that went out there twice.
Speaker 3 (04:14):
I spent half my weekend traveling out to Barosca Park,
so that is the only thing I'll say bad about it.
The other side of it looked beautiful. The ground was beautiful,
The stands were really good. You could see well from everywhere.
The food and drinks there were really awesome. It was
a bit in the middle of the bush and no
nice wineries around there, so that was that was.
Speaker 4 (04:29):
The other things nice.
Speaker 3 (04:30):
I wanted to add a nice winery you could just
go after the game or something like that. They're all
a bit had to be an experience. Surely luxury escapes
held out of my lovely fiance. Next year luxury escapes
gather around Barossa Valley. But in terms of them getting
it up, I think within a couple of months after
it wasn't even a massive footy ground. I thought it
was good also. Actually, I'll say one more point. They
had a bit of shade. I few people left because
(04:52):
they were too hot and not one part of the
ground had shade. Okay, so that was a bit of
a worry that did look but overall I really liked it.
The views were really cool and yeah, that was very cool.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
That was the same problem with Norwood. It was stinking
hot on both days and if you weren't in the
shade or Yeah, thankfully there's free sunscreen everywhere, like the
you had the like ambulance officers and Saint John's there
as well, just just sunscreen, yeah mate.
Speaker 3 (05:15):
Put The other one is they're just trying to We
talked about this on Sunday. They're trying to get North
at the furthest away ground possible wore next year. Yeah.
Actually we might not even be in South Australia apparently
because I'm traveling a lot a long way for North.
But that's right.
Speaker 5 (05:27):
Yeah, in saying that the North fans did get out there,
yeah there, but there are numbers they were.
Speaker 3 (05:32):
It was. It was actually a good turn out and
the atmosphere was good. That's why I don't mind. We've
talked about this playing at the country ground and playing
the local aounds with the smaller games, because the atmosphere
is good. Even I was like ten thousand people.
Speaker 1 (05:41):
That's I mean, you've got to win it, like it's
my promotion relegation here. You've got to win a game
to get to the Adelaide Oval. Yeah, like to get
to Norwideah.
Speaker 4 (05:49):
You did see your potential.
Speaker 3 (05:52):
I don't like it.
Speaker 5 (05:54):
North of west like midday or the day or something
like out of the nowhere.
Speaker 1 (06:02):
He could have been the D's in Saints game on
the Friday at five at Norwood.
Speaker 4 (06:06):
Actually that was a stitch up.
Speaker 2 (06:08):
I demoted the Swans. I did my thing he did.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
You won't buy they lose, they got they go to
Norwood anyway, Ken Hinckley, he should have landed a seven
three seven at the Adelaide on Sunday night.
Speaker 2 (06:21):
Would have been great.
Speaker 1 (06:22):
But he's got Hawthorne's number, doesn't he like? His record
against Hawthorne in the last decade is nine and four.
Speaker 3 (06:28):
He's pretty good.
Speaker 5 (06:30):
Yeah. I was surprised that the Hawks couldn't really come
to the party because they're the party goers.
Speaker 4 (06:34):
They're the ones that love the show. So yeah, I
was surprised that they didn't show up.
Speaker 3 (06:39):
Yeah, I was really surprised. I think Ken that has
had good tactics, like he put Rosie half back. We
didn't actually talk about that much on the Sunday putting
Rosy half back. He changed a few things up. They
lifted for that. Leo mentioned this in the office is
usual on this show. He said that was their grand
final though for Port Adelaide, and I hope I do
agree with him on that one, because they're lifting for
this game and I don't know if they can do
it for the rest of us time.
Speaker 4 (06:59):
I think a lot of people think that, Yeah, well.
Speaker 1 (07:01):
There's there's very funny similarities is that they lifted for
Hawthorne last year, went to the SCG and got smashed.
Speaker 2 (07:06):
When do they.
Speaker 3 (07:07):
Play excited Veniswonans fan Yeah, CG.
Speaker 2 (07:10):
Yeah, similarities parallels.
Speaker 3 (07:12):
I don't even want to to think about tipping that
game at the moment.
Speaker 2 (07:14):
Yeah, it's not a great tip.
Speaker 1 (07:16):
Just quickly on that game, Willy, really we're not going
to talk about what's going on is obviously terrific, and
we hope Willy's all right, but the celebration and the
bit of rubbish chat gown Hey, hey CJ, here's the
footy mate, come and get it, and then belting it
over the hill.
Speaker 2 (07:30):
I loved it.
Speaker 4 (07:31):
I loved it too. I thought, you know what, good
on him. They've done the work. They've got that far.
Speaker 3 (07:37):
We need a bit more h a bit more personality
in the game, like we always talk about.
Speaker 1 (07:41):
We talk about all the Hawthorne players doing their celebration
minecrafts and tiktoks and all the stuff I'm not with.
And then Willy really sucked in I'm going to win
and weet we get complaints like, come on, personality, it wasn't.
Speaker 3 (07:53):
I liked it, yeah, and it just added a little
bit more spark because there wasn't much that Hawthorne were
coming back, and I was like, oh, you're gonna win.
Speaker 4 (08:01):
Do you know what Bowthorn players do it to the
other teams?
Speaker 5 (08:04):
You know?
Speaker 3 (08:04):
One percent?
Speaker 2 (08:04):
I called them petulant children on some.
Speaker 3 (08:06):
Day they come out to crazy songs that are petulant.
That was Alex again, I'm gonna be just call them
too many youths at the foot and he sound like
the old man. I'm like, you're not that old man bloody.
Speaker 4 (08:18):
Feels the round is for everybody really is the best.
Speaker 2 (08:22):
Don't take it out of Adelaide.
Speaker 4 (08:23):
I'm just going to say that as well.
Speaker 2 (08:25):
Yes, yeah, I think we're all in Adelaide forever, right.
Speaker 5 (08:28):
Yeah, Well do you know what I think? If you
haven't been there and then you're watching from afar. This
was probably my view a week ago before we went.
I was like, oh, well, it could work anywhere. But
then I went and I was like, no, it really works.
Speaker 3 (08:40):
Yeah. Everything's like so close to each other, so small.
Everyone's everyone's in a good mood. Like when we're trying
to do videos sometimes we go up to people and
they just don't want to talk to us all things. Like,
Everyone's like, yeah, i'll do this, I'll do that. Everyone's
in a good mood, and.
Speaker 4 (08:54):
Adelaide has like a wholesome feel about it. You know,
you just feel like a.
Speaker 2 (08:57):
Big city straight. I did that on Sunday morning.
Speaker 1 (09:01):
I went for a drive to a couple of bakeries
because you were still asleep, and got some really nice
like baked goods just around in the suburbs around Glenelgan,
somewhere down south out of the city. For like fifteen
minutes out of the city, have a great time. It
was very quaint. We'll touch on a negative. Simon Goodwin
zip and five has the Dockers this week at the MCG.
(09:25):
They've lost their last two to three at the MCG
zero and six. He seems confident that he'll turn it around.
But at zero and six, is that when the knives
start sharpening?
Speaker 3 (09:35):
What do you think?
Speaker 5 (09:35):
Just I think publicly he has to be confident.
Speaker 3 (09:42):
He's not going to go, oh yeah, my team's jolly
crap and I should be sacked, right, I.
Speaker 5 (09:45):
Think I think you've got to give him maybe two
midyear and then you know, see where they're at, because
you've got to give them a chance to turn it around.
Speaker 1 (09:53):
They've got West Coast and Richmond in the two weeks
or Richmond and West Coast.
Speaker 2 (09:56):
In the two weeks after that.
Speaker 3 (09:57):
So they could be two and six, we said if,
but they could lose one of these if the one
and seven Richmond defense hasn't been like horrible.
Speaker 2 (10:05):
I at the I would probably tip Richmond to be.
Speaker 3 (10:08):
I don't know if I'll tip them, but I think
that could be a really close game. I think I'm
good one out even right now, like, maybe give him
to those couple of weeks if they win those two maybe,
but just the culture seems off. They're not playing any
good brand of footy, like some of their big names
have dropped off.
Speaker 4 (10:23):
Like it does seem like the D's could have a
fresh start.
Speaker 1 (10:27):
Yeah, that's why at some point I called like the
falling off the face of the earth. I actually said
it last year. I was like, they're just going to
go like this, yeah and whole boy. It's worse than
I thought.
Speaker 2 (10:36):
But we'll take a short break. We'll be back after
this because nights game is going to be.
Speaker 6 (10:40):
Missed by one on the AFL.
Speaker 2 (10:42):
With tab, you can stay in the game missed by
one on any.
Speaker 6 (10:45):
Disposal's leg and tab will still pay you out as
a winner tab where.
Speaker 7 (10:51):
On imagine what you could be buying instead.
Speaker 1 (10:53):
All right, time for the midweek winner and loser. I'm
just gonna hand it over to the North Melbourne couch
here go on.
Speaker 3 (11:00):
If you want to check out my social video on
AFL today, I was very happy. I had the party
poppers out mess. Yeah, I made a mess in a hotel.
Hopefully the cleaners into that one. How do you has
a fat new contract one point three million a year,
which I think is a little bit too much, but
I think in terms of keeping North players at the club,
this is a huge signing and really good for our future.
What do you reckon?
Speaker 5 (11:19):
Yes, honestly, I think that might become the norm now, Like, yes,
the salaries are going up. True, we have missed out
on a few big players, many big players, so they
needed to keep elder. You they did what they had
to do, so I am more than happy for him
to get the big bucks.
Speaker 3 (11:34):
Yeah, that's a big win. He played. I know he
kicks goals three, but he played pretty well on the weekend.
He got a lot of appearances. Everyone's talking about the
defensive side. If you can prove that a little bit,
I think that's going to.
Speaker 5 (11:43):
Be such would have just been so nice if you
just kicked a couple of guys.
Speaker 4 (11:47):
There was one early in the game. I think it
was one of the first.
Speaker 3 (11:50):
Was first player, and everyone would have gone nuts.
Speaker 5 (11:53):
That would have been just incredible. But you know, the
effort was there. You can see that he will be
doing that more in the future.
Speaker 3 (11:59):
Yep.
Speaker 4 (12:00):
I think he just needs to do it more consistently, yes.
Speaker 2 (12:02):
And maybe learn how to defend.
Speaker 3 (12:05):
Yeah, that's the North midfield at the moment.
Speaker 2 (12:07):
That's yeah.
Speaker 3 (12:08):
I saw that on the weekend. Again, we couldn't lay
a hand on Matt Rowl obviously great player. The other
one for North obviously the good Friday Appeal and game
is on Friday. Arguably north biggest game of the year.
Always would sell out crowd there at Marble Stadium.
Speaker 1 (12:20):
Have they released what kit they're going to wear this
week yet, because they may usually bring out a special kit.
Speaker 3 (12:24):
Well, I feel like we must be wearing that purple
one that had that.
Speaker 2 (12:26):
One rules through it every year. I love it. I
think it's really nice.
Speaker 3 (12:31):
It just brings us some luck, new vibes. Yeah, but
it's always awesome game.
Speaker 4 (12:37):
I am going to that one.
Speaker 5 (12:38):
I love that game. I've been going to that game
maybe since it started. Get around it every year. But
it's just such a fantastic day and you know, everything
is just wholesome, ground great cause it's a great cause.
Speaker 4 (12:52):
Yeah, how can you not get around it?
Speaker 3 (12:53):
So that's definitely a winner for it.
Speaker 2 (12:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (12:55):
I hope we do see because we're doing this Wednesday morning,
so hopefully today or tomorrow they do say, hey, this
is the kit that we're wearing.
Speaker 3 (13:00):
I think it might be the same one last year,
which I'm not a fan of, but I.
Speaker 2 (13:05):
Really liked it.
Speaker 3 (13:06):
It's like too many different things going on, but that's
okay a fan. It's for kids as well, so another demograph.
I'm not the demographics.
Speaker 4 (13:13):
So the kids, their sons went pink.
Speaker 2 (13:17):
And they're going to wear it more often.
Speaker 4 (13:19):
We should include that on the.
Speaker 2 (13:21):
Win Oh yeah, the winners gold Coast Kid, the rose kit.
They were going, yeah, oh yeah, yeah, it was really
will they come out with a green ash kid?
Speaker 3 (13:28):
Well, if they make finals, actually Alex has to buy
a Gold Coast Rose.
Speaker 4 (13:32):
Yes, so may Days should do a gresh kid.
Speaker 1 (13:35):
Yeah, that would that would be fitting, and we can skip.
Speaker 4 (13:39):
A little bit of flavor in there, Yeah, a.
Speaker 2 (13:41):
Bit of flavor to their forward. Linded help. Carlton fans
are winners because well they won a game.
Speaker 1 (13:46):
I mean it doesn't count, but well they're celebrating like
it's a big win.
Speaker 3 (13:50):
Social girl Olivia has been talking at least my team
one together, you played West Coast. Come on, but at
least they're on the winners.
Speaker 2 (13:56):
They should have won by one hundred.
Speaker 5 (13:58):
Yeah, you know what, I think it's relief VOSSI didn't
really take much win, Like I.
Speaker 1 (14:06):
Got like a bit more respect game for us and
going all right, cool, we know who we beat.
Speaker 5 (14:12):
So interesting though that like he would say that.
Speaker 4 (14:16):
In a press conference, but you know it's he's not lying.
Speaker 1 (14:19):
And finally, the last winter is Adelaide, not the Crows,
the city of Adelaide, I mean even just South Australian general,
just the tourism boom that they capped for the week.
Everyone goes there and I don't think I've had any
heard anyone that's had a really bad experience. Everyone's come
going to saying to their mates, like I had dinner
with a bunch of mates last night who were Footy
fans like house was like you got to go.
Speaker 2 (14:38):
You're a footy fan, book your tickets as soon as
it's released. It's always around that first week of school holidays.
Book it in.
Speaker 3 (14:44):
Yeah, it's great.
Speaker 5 (14:46):
Yeah, winner for sure. I do have one final win. Yeah,
I'd love to bring to the table. Essenon fans should
be feeling like winners because last night Harold suns Glenn
McFarland he exclusively had a.
Speaker 4 (14:58):
Chat with Dylan Shield.
Speaker 5 (14:59):
He wants is out of contract at the end of
the season, but he wants to stay a Bomber. He
wants to finish his career at the Bomber. And I
think returning to the midfield has just like replenished that
lump for the game.
Speaker 3 (15:09):
So he's getting a lot more of the ball.
Speaker 2 (15:11):
He's got a lot of the footy this year.
Speaker 3 (15:12):
He's actually been pretty good. And then I think if
some other players hang around, that means Zach Merrett will
stay around. That because Zach Merritt is one of the
best players in the competition.
Speaker 1 (15:20):
We get re upped silent quietly in the off season
after kill offer at him all of the money.
Speaker 3 (15:24):
Oh he might have actually so yeah. But the fact
that there's she'll resigning, I think that's good, similar to
North that a big sort of name is recent and
then I'll be others.
Speaker 4 (15:32):
Yeah, absolutely, So that's good.
Speaker 3 (15:33):
Signs very good.
Speaker 1 (15:34):
Moving across to the losers, I just want to get
this one off the top straight away.
Speaker 2 (15:37):
The coffee prices in Adelaide, that was ridiculous.
Speaker 3 (15:39):
Well, I didn't don't drink.
Speaker 2 (15:41):
I paid seven dollars eighty for ale.
Speaker 3 (15:43):
Yeah. Wait, actually I've got I've.
Speaker 2 (15:45):
Got a weird order. I freely admit, but I'll wait.
Tell us I get flat white.
Speaker 4 (15:51):
It's not weird.
Speaker 1 (15:52):
But I got a large and a cop seven dollars eighty. No,
I got a regular and it was seven dollars eighty.
And I'm like, I'll cop seven dollars if I'm getting.
Speaker 2 (15:59):
A large in a storm. Only seven dollars eighty felt
a bit.
Speaker 3 (16:02):
Well, there were seven dollars twenty for a Coke zero
as well. That's worse everything else at the Footing great.
Speaker 1 (16:09):
Cole Cox here at the Adelaide Ovil seven twenty. What
was worse was the three to ninety meal Coke zero
at Norwood, which was six dollars ninety.
Speaker 2 (16:16):
Jeez. Yeah, so I.
Speaker 1 (16:19):
Didn't I didn't have I didn't have one beer over
the weekend.
Speaker 2 (16:22):
But my world got smashed because of coke zero and coffee.
Speaker 4 (16:25):
It's crazy. May as well have had the be up.
Speaker 3 (16:27):
Yeah, I'm pretty sold.
Speaker 1 (16:28):
Still spent Yeah, half dollars at fifteen sixteen buts whatever.
So yeah, that one was just we'll get that out
of the way. The game quality, we had a couple
of good games.
Speaker 3 (16:37):
I thought that was a lot of good games overall.
Speaker 4 (16:39):
Games X games thirty plus margins.
Speaker 3 (16:42):
Yeah, that's not so. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (16:44):
I think Thursday night and Friday night were good games.
I know this one's got beaten by five guys, but
I still thought that was a good game. Saturday's game,
except for the Western Bulldogs Brisbane games I thought were pretty.
Speaker 3 (16:54):
Gold Coast was it was good for three quarters?
Speaker 1 (16:57):
Yeah, I mean that ball was just ping ponging around.
There was no defense going on. And Saturday, like the
GW West and killed a game was good. The Richmond
Frio not so good. And if you're a port fan,
you have the best time ever against Hawthorne.
Speaker 5 (17:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (17:11):
But yeah, I know that they're putting on games because
they don't need to put on massive games at gather around,
but maybe there needs to be reagig and maybe you
do need to have a blockbuster with a Victorian.
Speaker 2 (17:20):
Team in there.
Speaker 5 (17:20):
Yeah yeah, I mean I think it was just a
great atmosphere. Everywhere vibes a great No one was really
too bothered about what was that's true like happening on
the field four team exactly.
Speaker 3 (17:32):
I wasn't like that fuss with a few like I
went to Richmond for you. I had a great time
at the Boss. Yeah, even though it was a blowout
I don't know, there was still really good vibes and
then yeah, just a bit of a day out still.
Speaker 1 (17:41):
So this one's the fun This is probably the funniest
start I've heard all year. Harvey Thomas g w WES
rookies played like twenty four to twenty five games in
that amount of twenty one game.
Speaker 4 (17:51):
Twenty one games, it's twenty three guys.
Speaker 2 (17:55):
We were between twenty one and twenty five, twenty three games.
Speaker 1 (18:00):
Harvey Thomas has played at more AFL venues then Scott
Pendlebury has played in like seven hundred and eighty seven.
Speaker 3 (18:07):
That is wild.
Speaker 2 (18:09):
It's it's an embarrassment. I'm going to.
Speaker 1 (18:13):
It is he's gone to Norwood. He would have played
out at the Adelaide Hills last year. Probably Giants have
played at Alice Springs and they go to Geelong, Canberra.
I'm sure if there was a game at Kazale stadiums
have played there. Has he Kendalls hasn't played at Geelong mate,
he hasn't made the arduous trip to Geelong.
Speaker 3 (18:32):
It's what you unfortunately get if you played for WS
with with like the fan bases and things like. They're
not going to play at the g as much they're
not going to Like it's the same as North would
have had a lot of guys that would have traveled.
But it's just a crazy little stat.
Speaker 5 (18:44):
Yeah, I think four hundred and eight games.
Speaker 1 (18:48):
Yeah, yeah, Young Harvey's played at more venues already.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
Actually that's probably helping as long gw wes played. It's quick.
I heard this.
Speaker 1 (18:55):
So GWS last played at home in like round two
or three whatever. It was their next home game as
in at Enjie Stadium sixteenth of May.
Speaker 3 (19:04):
Yeah, because of the Easter showgrounds and stuff like that.
It's a silly deal they've got over there, but they're
trying to make more money. I guess, I don't know.
It's a tough one.
Speaker 1 (19:13):
Yeah, because that also means that GW has the top
two come like then like round ten. Good luck stopping
him because of all the games they've got at energy.
Speaker 3 (19:21):
Yeah, true, they'll have a lot to catch.
Speaker 5 (19:22):
What they may be just bonding as a team on
their road trips where all the camaraderie.
Speaker 1 (19:29):
The positivity or out of kings like b good or
I'll smash her. I was here to produce a Gerald
away from him. On Sunday, big Man.
Speaker 3 (19:38):
Really big man medium shirts, extra large with maybe just
large around the biceps.
Speaker 1 (19:47):
Patrick Voss he topped three weeks for suspension. He broke
nick Looston's nose in what seemed like a ridiculous y,
ridiculously long tribunal case.
Speaker 2 (19:55):
It's like he punched him right in the head.
Speaker 3 (19:57):
It wasn't trying it though he was trying to tackle.
Speaker 2 (19:59):
It was swinging.
Speaker 3 (20:00):
It was careless though, So I'm happy that he got suspended,
But I don't know about the three weeks. I think
the tribunal is still all over the shop.
Speaker 2 (20:07):
Yeah, okay, that's that's probably the right.
Speaker 5 (20:09):
Also the yeah, the tribunal brought in the fact like
the risk of more injury sustaining the three matches, okay, which.
Speaker 1 (20:18):
Like saying that he could be careless, like he could
have shattered his jaw or something.
Speaker 2 (20:21):
Well, I guess I was following along with that time.
What are they trying to argue that.
Speaker 3 (20:26):
Usually in the tribunal, like for Mooring, I've never heard
that one.
Speaker 1 (20:30):
But that's so it's like, oh, you've can cast him,
you could have just given him CT Like are we
going to start bringing that in?
Speaker 3 (20:35):
Like, well, that's that's that's another dent.
Speaker 2 (20:38):
Yeah, that's what I mean.
Speaker 3 (20:40):
That's not good. I hope we don't continue that.
Speaker 1 (20:42):
Uh that five he could be done as same with
Harry Cunningham and Taylor Adams as well. So Harry Cunningham's
pings of calf, Matt Fife has done a hamstring, Taylor
Adams has done his hand, done a calf I think,
and trelaw Re injured his calf. These are all old
men in the early thirties that have pinion soft tissues.
Speaker 2 (21:01):
I think they're all in trouble.
Speaker 3 (21:03):
It is a worry, especially five. Like I feel for
him because he would have been the best player. I
think for a long time he was the best player
on the comp.
Speaker 4 (21:10):
I think I just feel like we missed out on.
Speaker 3 (21:12):
We missed out on a really good, long career from
a guy that I don't know. People just forget how
good he was. He's won a couple of brown lows,
like yeah, so I'm really gut on that one specific.
Speaker 1 (21:22):
Yeah, another one, Harry McKay just because the poor bugger
come back game and I saw it. It was very
close to where I was sitting and you just heard
the clashes. Oh that any but his arms went stiff
straight I was like, yeah, he's done. Yeah, so hope
hopefully he's all right, because that'll be he might miss
another week or two as well.
Speaker 5 (21:43):
I think, yeah, at least a couple. I think they
just got to give him the time to get right.
Speaker 3 (21:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (21:47):
Yeah, there's been a lot of the of those concurring concussions,
reoccurring concussions, which isn't great. And was this your stafts
guy that's put this in jest with Adelaide blowing the
lead to open their big weekend.
Speaker 3 (21:58):
I don't mind that yet because I would usually do that,
but I would like Adelaide, but I I.
Speaker 5 (22:05):
Just feel like Adelaide had everybody their feet South Australia.
It's your time, is shine, Adelaide, this is your moment.
Speaker 2 (22:14):
And I think was Apable was shutting us around that forward.
Speaker 3 (22:20):
Line Hill was going off there.
Speaker 2 (22:22):
Yeah, we just we want to throw to kick two
goals though though the.
Speaker 3 (22:25):
Buyers were still good though because half the people there
obviously weren't adelaid fans, but yeah, I mean.
Speaker 4 (22:30):
There were a lot of Adelaide's fans.
Speaker 5 (22:32):
I remember turning around to the people that I was
with about half time and I was like, Geelong would
come back.
Speaker 3 (22:40):
And why where's that where?
Speaker 4 (22:47):
You know, just a bummer, but you know Adelaide can
learn from that.
Speaker 2 (22:51):
Yeah, maybe win a close game Adelaide.
Speaker 5 (22:54):
Well they've got the Giants, huge game. That's a big
test for them.
Speaker 1 (22:59):
To lose that one off thriller against Sam Taylor.
Speaker 3 (23:03):
Yeah, well he was lost on the weekend, so hopefully
kicks a few guys.
Speaker 2 (23:09):
It'll be right, we'll be all good.
Speaker 1 (23:10):
But that's a midweek winners and losers. Jess, thanks for
coming in, all right, welcome back to AFL today.
Speaker 2 (23:16):
I've pushed Staft's guy across the other side of the
room because I'll be honest, he stinks.
Speaker 1 (23:20):
Anyway, mate, Time for the Thursday night footy preview this
week Thursday night, but Easter weekend time. On a tradition
of Brisbane taking on Cold Importantly, Comin would have had
to travel two weeks in a row.
Speaker 2 (23:31):
Are they okay?
Speaker 3 (23:32):
Yeah? What do they call him on the True Bludds podcast?
Speaker 2 (23:36):
Boys?
Speaker 3 (23:37):
Big? I think they'll be all.
Speaker 2 (23:39):
Right, don't know they're fans. Are we complaining on Twitter?
Speaker 1 (23:42):
They're big wises Anyway, your best bet got it last
Thursday stats man.
Speaker 3 (23:45):
Yeah, danger two plus. I was really happy with that.
He ended up in forced, so maybe I should have
gone a bit bigger. He's been so good. If if
a longer playing I'd be taking the danger two plus
would still be a good market, so look out for that.
In our Thursday night teams preview and I went fined
from nine from gathering on my best bets, So I'm
going just I've been around fifty percent most of the
most of the tab sponsorship, so keep it up.
Speaker 2 (24:05):
If you're not following the stats man, what are you doing?
Speaker 3 (24:07):
Yeah, so a few value ones usually around two to
four dollars. We'll see how we go over this week
as well.
Speaker 1 (24:11):
All right, Brisbane taken on Collingwood has said up at
the Gabba seven point thirty on a Thursday night dollar
fifty for the Lions, Collingwood two dollars sixty.
Speaker 2 (24:19):
Stats guy, you have not put the line in. You're
killing me.
Speaker 3 (24:21):
While we didn't talk about the line last week, but
we can't if we want.
Speaker 2 (24:25):
Yeah, you keep talking, I'll find the line.
Speaker 6 (24:26):
Well.
Speaker 3 (24:26):
It's obviously a twenty twenty three Grand Final rematch. Both
teams are coming off really great wins. Obviously Brisbane came
back in the second half against the Dogs and er
Kip would turned into prime Waynekerry or something. That's what
people were calling him.
Speaker 1 (24:37):
The Pies Please, Eric Kipp would realized he was at
a country footy not a country footy ground. He was
at a semi professional footy ground at the SA NFL.
He's like, this is my level.
Speaker 3 (24:46):
Oh bang, there we go. Ah. The Pies are eleven
and eight all time at the Gabba, but five of
those wins wearing.
Speaker 1 (24:53):
One of them was against the Swans when we finished seventeenth.
We kicked three goals fourteen.
Speaker 3 (24:57):
Yeah, so that five in camp. Five of those wins
were in and against some random teams because it was
during COVID and everyone was playing out there. So their
record overall isn't that great at the Gabbo, but it's.
Speaker 2 (25:06):
Okay, line is ten and a half for all those
playing at home as.
Speaker 3 (25:09):
Well and a half. Okay, there we go.
Speaker 1 (25:11):
But yeah, Brisbane they kicked fourteen goals in the second
half last week.
Speaker 2 (25:14):
It was undeniably awesome watching it.
Speaker 1 (25:17):
Logan Morris was the star in the first half, but
then hip Wood and everyone got rolling in the second half.
Becau apparently Fagan gave him a massive spray at halftime. Yeah,
and they needed it.
Speaker 3 (25:26):
He did, and that's leading right into one of my
best bets in this one. I got two. So the
second half will be the highest scoring half, is my
bet at a dollar eighty five with tab Obviously, Brisbane
scored an unbelievable eighty nine points last week. That a
huge second half against the Cats when they came back
as well. They've just built into the game a lot
and I think the team that can do that is
Brisbane and score a lot of points.
Speaker 2 (25:46):
Yep.
Speaker 3 (25:46):
And even the Pies they don't always start that well.
It's usually a bit scrappy. So I'm really keen on
the second half being the highest scoring half dollar eighty five,
So slight favorite isn't towards that.
Speaker 1 (25:54):
But hopefully go better with your score predictions this week
after say yeah, there's going to be a few unders
and they hit the over.
Speaker 3 (25:59):
I only really bad pick last weekend was the over under, so.
Speaker 1 (26:03):
While we were like half time, I hate SAT's there
one hundred and thirty two points.
Speaker 2 (26:06):
The over unders it like one seventy.
Speaker 3 (26:08):
I should never go under. I'm always wanting the always
go over there, but for this one, I'm staying away
from the overund. I just think the highest going half,
a bit of the second half and your other bet. Yeah,
this one's a player. One is Kalamarchie's had a great
start to the season. I'm going two plus goals at
two dollars twenty with tab. He's got two plus goals
in five of his last eight matches. I think he's
got about seven goals already this year. He's just been
popping up. He looks a bit more confident in front
(26:29):
of goal. He is a bit of a goal sneak
that even if there's someone open, he might kick one
over his shoulder or he kicks one from the boundary.
And I think Calamarchie just really informant. Not enough people
are talking about him, so you get a bit of
value there with two dollars twenty.
Speaker 2 (26:41):
All right, give us your tips and margin.
Speaker 3 (26:43):
Tip of margin or we're very Brisbane heavy here. The
Pies were really good. We haven't really talked against this one.
I know you don't want to talk about how they
played against the ones. Ned Long was awesome. Deklos easily
just shook off the tag of James Jordan and yeah,
I did eat it really well.
Speaker 1 (26:57):
And then even then, mate, when he nearly got gout
at one point he absolutely crapped his take the footy.
Speaker 3 (27:03):
Someone else, Oh he did well, he did well. And
then even there's more forwards which everyone was sort of
not convinceded. But I did well. But Brisbane just know
how to win. Even when they look crap, they come
back and win games. I'm going to go thinking about it, Brisbane,
I'm going to say by three goals. I think this
could be pretty close because both teams are in good form,
but Brisbane there's no how to win one.
Speaker 1 (27:22):
Yeah, pretty keen on Brisbane. I think they'll win by
two or three goals here. But this will be a
belter as all great games.
Speaker 2 (27:28):
I can't wait.
Speaker 1 (27:29):
Yeah, Thursday night footy, lock yourselves in because Friday's games
may not be as good as this one.
Speaker 7 (27:33):
Imagine what you could be buying instead.
Speaker 1 (27:35):
Right, Well, that'll do us today for the midweek madness
on AFL today.
Speaker 2 (27:39):
Statsman good stuff, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (27:40):
Good work, good with jest. She was good fun.
Speaker 1 (27:42):
Hopefully we can get a new couch by the time
I get back because I am off for the next.
Speaker 2 (27:46):
Like two and a half weeks.
Speaker 3 (27:48):
Getting scited fans I will miss.
Speaker 1 (27:50):
I'm off to Hong Kong for some work and then
I swing back through Walgger on the way home, so
I won't be back to like the fourth of May.
Speaker 2 (27:56):
So I think that's Swans and Giants? Is that game?
Speaker 3 (28:00):
Myself, Leo and Marcus. Usually we'll be jumping on in
a whole nand.
Speaker 2 (28:04):
