Speaker 1 (00:02):
Ten where on you win some, you lose more.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
Queensland footy is dominating the AFL right now. There are
frauds all over the place and there is a big,
big sound coming out of the west. But how goddamn
good is gathering Welcome to AFL. Today's a wrap up
of gather around. I'm your host, Alex Donnelly in the
Adelaide studio. I like this, this isn't bad. I'm joined
over there on my far right, your far left. If
you're watching. He's had a long, long, long, but a

(00:30):
good weekend. It's Marcus.

Speaker 3 (00:32):
It has been a long weekend, plenty of late nights,
but it's been good fun. And more importantly, you've got
to see the bomber is gonna win.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
Very rare and a man in the middle. He's been
out to the Barossa Valley and back a couple of times.
He lost his voice on Friday and he still owes
me a sandwich. It's the little fella lam Italian aka
the stats guy.

Speaker 4 (00:50):
I completely forgot about that sandwich you want, like a
thirty dollars sandwichmium stuff.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
I went to the Norway. No, you had to pay
for it with cash.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
We decided this.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
I went to the Norwood Food in One festival today
had an amazing poor kettter roll I would.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
Have got that transfer. Now we'll sit down to get
figure out it out.

Speaker 4 (01:09):
We can be sad about it at our teams losing
a game, Yeah we can and my voice sounds.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
And something that we asked sad about was calebs Aarrong
missing by one in his multi time. But because we
are bought to you by a tab in their AFL
is missed by one. If your disposes like missus, buy
one tab will still pay you out as a winner.
Caleb Sarrong got twenty nine and we got paid out
exactly right that.

Speaker 4 (01:28):
I actually had a friend that had him for thirty
and used another account and they didn't win.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
So jokes on them, what are you really gambling with?

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Download the tab app today of course, make sure you
get around us on the social media's AFL today. It
is on YouTube, follow us on x, Facebook, TikTok and Instagram,
all that good stuff. We've been pumping out the content
all weekend long. AFL today au on x, TikTok and Instagram,
and it is just Ozzi rule today on Facebook. But
you know, like and subscribe on YouTube do all that
good stuff hit the ball?

Speaker 1 (01:55):
Hit the ball.

Speaker 3 (01:55):
Well we passed six k's thank you to the to
the subscriber, isn't ye audience? Great work?

Speaker 4 (02:01):
Yeah, Marcus on our Thursday show and Cricket Today as
well as usually a subscriber count guy.

Speaker 1 (02:06):
Yeah, he's not usually reliable on that, but at least
we're above six k.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
You really got into him on Thursday show. I noticed
he had the count ready.

Speaker 3 (02:13):
To go, ready, the one toll and he doesn't have
a girl.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
It was like the one time.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
Although I do feel a little bit naked after Thursday
show because I'm not wearing.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
The footy this time.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
We're gonna have to wear that footy next week because
you were last night and nest in one a game.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
Yeah, true, you're in.

Speaker 3 (02:25):
Trouble one good luck time.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
You have to wear it to every Essen game until
they lose.

Speaker 3 (02:29):
That's fair.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
Next week, as always, we're going to wrap up every
single game from Gather Around, will take a look at
the ladder, the brownlie market this week from tab how
the big calls went, and a super coach wash. But
of course games have ended. Let's get into it. Ladder
check Brisbane lines five and zip on twenty points. The
Girl Coast Sons are also four and zip there on
sixteen they are second. Lock them in for the finals

(02:51):
and I have to buy that pink kit that percentage.

Speaker 3 (02:53):
By the way, you should boy the pink kit anyway.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
Way to the end of the year. I won't do
it till they are officially locked in. That essenon game
could meet a lot gws.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
They're in third.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
They're flying four and one as our Collingwood four and
one Hawthorne. After that demolish, the plane crashed, everything went down.
It's all burning, it's on fire. It's fine there. One
and in fifth, Geelong up. It's a sixth, Adelaide down
a seventh. The Frio snuck in into eighth. After the
big win. The percentage is back on track and you
get St. Kilda, who are the other of the three

(03:25):
and two teams there, they're all right, Sydney Swan's I
said that we'd be zip and three to start the season,
so the fact that we're two and three means technically
I'm on track.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
It's a bit of positivity from a crap game.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
But you're right, you're right mate. You can't talk are
Sydney supposed to be good. I said, we started zero
and three.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
We are literally on track. Put Adelaide there, they're two
and three. They're going all right. The Western Bulldogs are
two and three as well. Essen in a two and
two because the ladder is dumb.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
It's a very good point.

Speaker 4 (03:56):
The fact that there's teams that aren't on the same
games is so annoying till what round, like, No, the
last game of the season, that's disgusting.

Speaker 3 (04:03):
Well, not even they're doing it after the last round.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
That's when the last round of the season. North Melbourne
fifteenth back in their habitat.

Speaker 1 (04:10):
We're still higher. No, actually that's where.

Speaker 3 (04:14):
The habitat.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
Richmond, they're not last, so that's good. They're one and
four as well. Melbourne, Oh boy, sixty percent zip and
five and West Coast with fourty nine point seven percent
are last.

Speaker 3 (04:26):
Well, how good is that they're they're averaging the same
amount of points per game as their percentage Melbourne.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
Yeah, that's not ideal, it's not great, the same as
West Coast.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
This is just boy.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
Biggest surprise out of that, I guess is Gold Coast
being second.

Speaker 4 (04:39):
Gold cos being second, and who else killed a ninth.
I'm saying it killed Adelade seventh as well because a
lot of.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
People are right, you got off because you don't know
the heart. And also they haven't made finals yet, so
we'll see.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
Borick and probably Hawthorne dropping out of the top four
like they've only lost.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
One stiff to be able to that doesn't count for
FROMI ship favorites with massive, Massive Game Easter Monday, Massive game.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
Yeah, it is a big game. We'll say a lot
about Hawthorne without will Day.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
All right, stats man, we've had five rounds of footing. Now,
every team but Essendon and gold Coast have played five games.
Let's not talk about that.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
You want to look at the brown Low Oh yeah,
why not? Why not?

Speaker 3 (05:16):
I think there's been a few big movers.

Speaker 4 (05:17):
We'll start with the favorite first because he's been the
favorite all year long and we're a big question questionable
on that because of his impact on the game. But
his Nick Day got six dollars with TAB, which is
actually still pretty good value, I'd say, especially with TAB.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
He's had thirty nine disposals was it thirty nine again?

Speaker 3 (05:32):
On the weekend it was less than that.

Speaker 4 (05:35):
He still racked up a lot of disposals at getting
tagged by James Jordan.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
James didn't tag him at all.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
He did tag him, but it was a lot of
junkie possessions. It was thirty four, like, yeah, oh.

Speaker 1 (05:46):
I thought he played pretty well.

Speaker 4 (05:47):
Then the other one we want to look at is
the biggest mover this round because he had an absolutely
awesome game against the ruse Maddie Row eight bucks.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
What do you reckon about that? I think that's a
pretty good bet.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
I want to see him do it for more than
five weeks. He's done it for four weeks. Technically at
the moment.

Speaker 4 (06:00):
Been this is probably his most consistent run in a season,
if he doesn't get injured and he can just play
a little bit better because Noah Anderson took Meler usually
step up, but if he can go right there and
then the last one, this is the sort of value
pick if you think Essidon can get a few more wins.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
Zach Merritt at thirteen dollars, I think is really good value.

Speaker 3 (06:15):
He is dominating.

Speaker 4 (06:16):
He's getting thirty and two goals almost every week. It
was awesome again on the week.

Speaker 1 (06:19):
I got no idea.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
Who's in front of the brown layer right now? It's
probably Zach Merrett.

Speaker 1 (06:22):
It's very open.

Speaker 4 (06:23):
Jordan Dawson had a really good start, but the last
ye on Thursday, I'm off in with tab but Zack
Merrett's my little value on there.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
Okay, I don't mind it. And the Premiership market.

Speaker 1 (06:31):
Premiership market, yeah, Brisbane again, they just keep winning.

Speaker 3 (06:34):
They look a bit shaky.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
All they do is win, win, win, no matter what.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
Brisbane.

Speaker 4 (06:38):
Yeah, six dollars is pretty good. And then the other
one is Collingwood at nine dollars. I've just put them
in there because I hadn't picked at the start of
the season. I didn't think they were going to beat
Sydney on the weekend and they've just keep proving.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
Our six bucks Brisbane oh six bucks, Yeah that's what
I said.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
Sorry, I thought he said seven. Now our six bucks and.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
Then Colin would have dropped just because of that awesome
win on Friday night.

Speaker 2 (06:56):
Gw are still favorite after their awesome win today and
nor what. Alright, let's get into it because we need
to talk about the results from it this week.

Speaker 1 (07:04):
Thursday night, Adelaide Oval the Crows, I think they're on fraud.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
Watched Boys fifteen ten one hundred run over by Geelong
eighteen eleven one one nine. This is a great way
to start gathering.

Speaker 3 (07:15):
It was the hill was buzz and we.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
Were on the hill.

Speaker 3 (07:17):
The hill brought good vibes throughout the whole weekend, especially
when the DJ started playing some good tunes.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
Yep, it was the camera that DJ doesn't he does
it really looks into it like, yeah, it's a bit weird.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
Put it on me.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
Let's go.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
Yeah, sweet Caroline, but a love story, Yeah, love story.

Speaker 1 (07:33):
Went off on the hill. It did. Everyone dis a
bit of it. It doesn't have Taylor Swift, that's true,
but let's just start it.

Speaker 2 (07:38):
This first half it was the Fog show. He was
strutting us, just waltzitting around, going I am the man,
get around me. Everyone was on thriller to kick some guys.
So we're a bit flat, but fog was dominating proceedings.
Danger was keeping Gelong in this game. We were there
halfway through the second quarter going, oh, Adelaide are really
good and then they kicked was a late goal that

(08:01):
they kicked that kept them in the game just before halftime.
And then after half time, Jess decided to get up
and about and dangerfield just the dominant for duo, kicked
eight between them.

Speaker 1 (08:11):
Yeah, they are unbelevel.

Speaker 4 (08:13):
Every time the game was sort of in the balance,
he looked like Adelaide might kick another one kick away.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
Jez are in danger would just popped danger. As a forward.

Speaker 4 (08:20):
It's just he had an awesome career as a midfielder.
He's going to end in the I reckon he could
have another year as a forward and you're going he's
sort of regenwards pretty He's very similar. I'm going to
say this, this is going to be a bit controversial, Gary,
Gary Albert Jr.

Speaker 1 (08:36):
He's nowhere near.

Speaker 4 (08:39):
I meant in terms of he's dominating in the midfield.
Now he's dominating down forwarding exactly that.

Speaker 1 (08:44):
No he's not.

Speaker 3 (08:45):
No, I feel like in the future, but the truck
is nowhere near that. But he could have a similar
sort of career full time. Yea a similar sort of
against Like you can swing and you put him up
forward and you can change game.

Speaker 2 (09:00):
As Keiser was up and about early, the crowd was
up and about for Benny Keys three goals out in touches.
He started off the season on fire, got rankin built
into the game well. But the biggest not let down.
But the biggest disappointment for the Crows out of this
was they just let Max Holmes do whatever he wanted.

Speaker 1 (09:15):
Bailey Smith.

Speaker 2 (09:16):
Bailey Smith's always going to get the footge Max home
is the main distributor on the outside. Max Holmes eight
hundred and five meters game stats man. I know you're
not big on it, but thirty two touches a goal
and eight hundred and five meters the clear best on
ground by about two hundred meters. Next was Bailey Smith.
It was just a dominant performance by him. D's the
week before put some time into him and they just

(09:36):
got the job done. And they're just like, no, that's cool.
Max Holmes, You're fine.

Speaker 4 (09:39):
Yeah, if I'm playing against Geelong, he hates a tag,
he hates someone following him around. The D's did it
to perfection. A lot of Cats fans go, oh, Homes.
I was at the Geelong game last week. They're like, oh,
he's not going to do much. You know, you just
need to put a guy on him. Yeah, even if
it's like just go of pressure and he doesn't like it.
So the fact that they didn't do that was.

Speaker 3 (09:55):
Really dumb, and he tore him up. Your man growing
my zero goals this time, he'll get next week.

Speaker 1 (10:01):
He's the most underrated, overrated player of all time.

Speaker 2 (10:04):
That bloke.

Speaker 3 (10:05):
I'm starting to think he's overrated, just how much That's
loves him.

Speaker 4 (10:08):
You know, I'm like, there's not many people talking about
him just because it gets people talking about funny.

Speaker 1 (10:13):
He's good.

Speaker 3 (10:14):
I tell you what was funny? Bailey Smith doing the
double talked about that. What about that he got.

Speaker 1 (10:19):
Fine on the show? Do we get fine? Now we
get fine?

Speaker 2 (10:22):
You get paid tomorrow'll occupay? Yes, I can there on
Bratt's summer.

Speaker 1 (10:30):
And coach.

Speaker 2 (10:32):
Having the best time ever. But what is it with
these fans being knobs? At what point do we look
at the fans just stop being idiots and like Bas Smith,
whatever was said about Danger they said it was pretty
personal and pretty harryfic and Bas just flipped the bloke off.
It's better than him jumping into the crowd. Like who
was it someone from Tottenham last year that Eric he

(10:54):
got quarter to Germany.

Speaker 3 (10:55):
Yeah, yeah, well I'd rather if you're going to jump
into the crowd, you can do it in stall like
Eric Canton I karate kick. Yeah, but that's the last
thing I'd want to do if more team's just lost
a game, I don't want to talk crap to the opposition. Yeah,
after they've just won the game. Yeah, and imagine waiting
around because you long would have been on the ground
here now for so you're like, I must have been
held onto that for a while.

Speaker 2 (11:17):
He probably knew that the bridge was going to be
pretty full walking back. Also, Jordan Dawson had a horror
and I just could not hit a target. He wouldn't
have hit the side of a barn door.

Speaker 3 (11:25):
He was they got a favorite of the ball. Ye
couldn't have the target online.

Speaker 2 (11:28):
I also just I we didn't mention Adelaide were off
a five day backup. They didn't get home to apparently
like two am after that Gold Coast game, so they
finished the game they had. Marcus has been drinking.

Speaker 1 (11:37):
The Crows are on hydra life.

Speaker 2 (11:39):
But they had to drive to get to the Brisbane
airport to get the plane home, and then they didn't.
They delays your professional life. Later, I'm going to get
to your coach complaining about the heat and my coach
so a little bit of an excuse there, But as
the fan bases you're on fraud watch Adelaide absolutely fraud
watch and Gelong and just like yeah.

Speaker 1 (11:56):
We're good.

Speaker 4 (11:56):
Yeah, because this is a classic Adelaide start to the season.
They've done this a lot in the last look five
to ten years.

Speaker 1 (12:02):
Look good. I still think they'll be all right.

Speaker 2 (12:04):
I think they're allergic to winning close games despite what
happens with umpires.

Speaker 1 (12:07):
Maybe just get in front.

Speaker 4 (12:08):
I'm also glad we didn't mention the umpires because Crows
fans just have a sook ye first for all fairness.

Speaker 3 (12:13):
What about that only Dempsey mark that show was in front?

Speaker 2 (12:16):
Yeah, that was we need to move on with. We're
talking forever.

Speaker 1 (12:20):
Friday night back at the Adelaide over.

Speaker 2 (12:22):
Oh god, Collingwood sixteen thirteen one oh nine defeated my
Sydneys Ones twelve six seventy eight. Colin Wood were better.
This ones were terrible. With the footy game over, let's
move on.

Speaker 1 (12:30):
No, we got to talk about it.

Speaker 4 (12:32):
Sorry mate, We all of us dips ones. Yeah and
I ha, someone got in the comments on me and
I'm going to apologize. He I am sorry that I
didn't tip the Pies more year and this guy goes
he's been on a more year.

Speaker 1 (12:44):
Tipped him for the flag.

Speaker 3 (12:45):
Why is he off them?

Speaker 4 (12:46):
And I said, a really good record injuries, people are
out and I had good points in the last seven
and then I go into that game and why did
I not just I'm going to stay on Congrad for
the rest of the year now because they just know
how to play. Craig McCray is an awesome coach. Their
forward line isn't that bad. Like I think three of
their guys kicked three goals each.

Speaker 1 (13:02):
So JC storms seventy six. That's it, yes, JC, So sorry, JC.
I'll be on the Pies for sure.

Speaker 2 (13:08):
Next week we'll talk on Collingwood. First, Never Long had
the best game of his life. I don't know if
he's ever going to be able to do that again,
but he's definitely not going to be sub He started
on that first clearance on Heney twenty nine disposals. He
had nine clearances, but he was I thought he was fantastic.
It was also a big thick boy in the middle,
like Collingwood needed to find another midfielder, yeah, and they
found one.

Speaker 1 (13:27):
Yeah, Well, hopefully he can back it up.

Speaker 4 (13:29):
But he was just really good because obviously the one's
have a awso midfield and he was doing that against.

Speaker 2 (13:33):
Were one at the moment it was cheeks like cheeks.

Speaker 3 (13:38):
Yeah, he was just filling the de goalie void and
he did it to perfection. Yeah, that's all he needed
to do. And he maybe maybe even got a leg
up on him.

Speaker 1 (13:45):
Yeah, maybe to go to go, goes to go.

Speaker 2 (13:48):
We consider the halfward flank and have fifteen at a goal.

Speaker 1 (13:51):
He could Actually it was just.

Speaker 3 (13:52):
The small forwards, wasn't it that really killed this ones?
But for the Pops Hill with three McCreary Elliott.

Speaker 2 (13:59):
So this one, this one's biggest problem was their use
of the footy like it was a lot of simple
mistakes and then it was also what some people just watch,
Oh Collingwood better. The thing was with the Swans, they
were so ferocious on the footy that they were all
going in at the same time and Collingwood smartly. Some
of them were just zoning off out of the contest.
As soon as the Swan's fumbled, which they did a
lot of times around the contest was bang out to

(14:21):
Collingwood and they were off. So the Swan's intent was better,
their disposal was not good. The old tridententru of ah,
I'm just going to vomit in the forward fifty in
hope for the best. You've been doing it for four
years and it doesn't work.

Speaker 4 (14:34):
Yeah, because although I don't rate your lot of your
forward linebish.

Speaker 3 (14:41):
Going on the Swan's ford line.

Speaker 1 (14:43):
Oh, it's an issue. This is the team that scored
the most points in the competition last year, but it
wasn't from their forwards, it was from your midfield.

Speaker 3 (14:49):
We still scored the most points last year.

Speaker 1 (14:52):
I was a going to say something positive. I was
going to agree with you if you let me finish.
I was saying, it's actually not a lot on the forwards,
it's a lot on the forward entries. And that's what
I was saying.

Speaker 2 (15:01):
Well, Hayden MacLean kept dropping sitters that yeah he's.

Speaker 3 (15:05):
A kick three, so he didn't kick a season.

Speaker 1 (15:07):
He could have kicked five, I think. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (15:08):
And the biggest issue was as soon as Drolla Mardi
did his hammy and came off halfway through the second quarter,
and then the Swans didn't kick a couple of goals late.
That's when the game turned because it messed the Swan
structure up because Dean Cox is like, oh, I've got
to throw Tommy McCartin forward, which also means next week
when Lewis Melliken comes back, hopefully that's your back line
and maybe you throw Joel hammling or Logan McDonald ford.
Isaac Keeney. I thought he was the best player on

(15:29):
the ground.

Speaker 1 (15:31):
Well, it was your best player.

Speaker 2 (15:34):
I've already impacted the game the most as a singular
player twenty seven and two. He was the one who
was going to lift the Swans over the line. Unfortunately,
too many sloppy mistakes. The Swans desperately need Callum Mills
and Errol Golden back. Errol is not going to be
back for like two three months, but Callum Mills drew
back soon.

Speaker 3 (15:49):
Yeah, you relied too much on him.

Speaker 4 (15:51):
At the end of the day, had twenty four, but
he didn't have that impact that we'd like to see.

Speaker 2 (15:55):
Sory Warner was good.

Speaker 1 (15:56):
Corey Warner was actually really good. Bys I thought was
really good.

Speaker 2 (15:59):
He had had one butchery kicked out till four on
one off a kickout and Colin Wild kick the goal over.

Speaker 4 (16:03):
And he's that reliable guy that you can just go.
He's going to hit one inside that will get us
to go, and he did that a couple.

Speaker 2 (16:08):
Yeah calling with their small forwards. I thought Jamie Elled
had one of the best games he's had in a
long time. I thought he was phenomenal.

Speaker 1 (16:13):
McCreary.

Speaker 2 (16:14):
If he can do that more consistently, Colin would going
to be a very, very dangerous team.

Speaker 1 (16:17):
He's such an annoying little man, but he's good.

Speaker 3 (16:20):
He is very underrated play he gets so many trials.

Speaker 4 (16:23):
I think Leo's usually on the show hates FORMC, so
he won't be happy with that. But yeah, he's very.

Speaker 2 (16:28):
Billy Frampton is just a lockdown fullback that works against this.

Speaker 3 (16:33):
One's for no, no, no, but no.

Speaker 2 (16:34):
But when you're playing like Hayden mcleans still a very decent.

Speaker 1 (16:36):
He got three goals on him though, and he could
have five, so I don't know.

Speaker 2 (16:40):
Darcy Moore also played him.

Speaker 3 (16:42):
Yeah, Dunny Moore.

Speaker 1 (16:42):
Looks as strong. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (16:43):
Fan bases calling are like sick, this is great, and
SWE's like, yep, we need our players back. Because they
still had seven of their best out and another one
went down.

Speaker 3 (16:51):
So I think they're bombing.

Speaker 4 (16:53):
Forward is the big issue though, because you guys had
a lot of inside fifties that just went away.

Speaker 3 (16:57):
I feel like this game taught us more about Sydney
than the Sydney North game. I don't.

Speaker 1 (17:02):
Yeah, I agree because it was against a better teamyh.

Speaker 2 (17:04):
Yeah, but I'm also like, I'm also coming out of
it not really because I can make up. There was
a couple of very dubious, unpiring decisions that led to
goals and then very simple mistakes that then were bad
Ford entries that then Collingwood went back down the other
and keep the goal. There's your five goals. I'm not
too disappointed. Let's go to Saturday b Ussa Park. First
game out there. North Melbourne actually led the game by
eight points halfway through the third quarter, ended up losing

(17:26):
by fifty two as gold Coast. I belted them, I
wonder forty one to eighty nine? You were their stats man? Yes,
and Mike, what's wrong with your team? Why do they suck?

Speaker 4 (17:36):
I'll start on the actual game first, but we do suck,
partly because of Clarko's game plan, but all it's mainly
and finally people. So Leo was big on this on
our previous show and a few other shows. He's jumped
on the Sunday Show.

Speaker 3 (17:47):
It has clearly come down to our midfields.

Speaker 4 (17:49):
Midfielders not running two ways. I saw rocket, he was
talking about it. We've talked about it.

Speaker 2 (17:52):
I said up last week about LG and then he
signed a one point four million contract. I would have
knocked off two hundred and fifty grand in season. That
was probably his best this season so far. But that
was on the attacking end.

Speaker 3 (18:03):
Yeah, you kick three behind him on now on the full.

Speaker 1 (18:07):
Clearance, but he still doesn't run the other one.

Speaker 4 (18:09):
I know.

Speaker 1 (18:09):
That's what I was about to say.

Speaker 2 (18:09):
You're paying in one point for a year when Colby
mcerche who's got second He's got second year blues.

Speaker 1 (18:14):
By the way, that kid he's been horrible. Yes, second
year blues, which.

Speaker 2 (18:16):
You can forgive when he walks to Tasmania in two
years time because you paid all the year.

Speaker 1 (18:20):
Do you bring that up every show?

Speaker 2 (18:21):
I'm going because it's true.

Speaker 1 (18:24):
As a team, it's all good.

Speaker 2 (18:25):
There was an announcement about the stadium today.

Speaker 4 (18:27):
Actually I was going to have the holes in it. Yeah, sure, stupid. Anyway,
they started hot in the first quart out. I think
it was to do with their kid. Their kid looked
absolutely awesome. They were corner the rose a kid at
the Broussa Valley. It looked beautiful. A few people around
the ground had it on.

Speaker 1 (18:41):
Sold out three times, three times that they've released the leader.

Speaker 4 (18:46):
AFL teams like North Calling like teams that just always
have the same kit every week.

Speaker 3 (18:51):
Swan's had a really good kid this week and Hawks
have never wear it again.

Speaker 4 (18:53):
Sydney new kid and they don't have a big fan base.
The fact they're selling him out with the least members
I think are they at least members anyway, they're the
second least members and the sign out jerseys awesome leave.

Speaker 1 (19:04):
They're going to wear it more often. Yeah, I hope.
So it's very good. We're talking to Leo's sorry.

Speaker 3 (19:10):
Yeah, well there were thirty points up as well. Gold Coast.

Speaker 2 (19:12):
Yeah, I was about to l gold Coast. They have
a switch off moment. But also when North Melbourne get
their run game going, they aren't half bad.

Speaker 3 (19:19):
They looked and we're like, wait, something is cooking here.

Speaker 1 (19:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (19:23):
So and then it was just some of the easiest
goals you ever see conceded. Oh yeah, you're like, went
last quarter and a half. Yeah, you just let them
walk through your defense on transition. Too many times it
was the same problem against the Swans last week.

Speaker 2 (19:34):
If you just go reverse halfway through the third quarter,
hit play and you're just like, it's the same thing.

Speaker 4 (19:41):
Yeah, we're talking about the game. So our whole game
is just relies on luck. I think Kyle Leo's made
Actually in the show, he was saying about halfway, if
there's a fifty to fifty ball and we win it,
we can probably get a goal. But if we don't,
all of our players are all pressed up and then
we look absolutely cooked on it.

Speaker 3 (19:58):
There was a point that the game when Ben kicked
Ben King kicked one of his five goals, but Charlie
Comban ran fours off the ball to not impact a contest,
and Ben King was just seeding the goals. Me me,
the amount of walking goals was ridiculous.

Speaker 1 (20:14):
Yeah, that was That was.

Speaker 4 (20:15):
Matt Rowe was amazing. It's also held that the whole
of the North Melbourn team doesn't have to tackle.

Speaker 1 (20:21):
I don't care.

Speaker 4 (20:21):
I don't Our passing was all right. We had Daniel
ninety percent efficiency. We had a few others we cannot
layer tackle Matt Rowe. I think I was trying to
counter throughout the game, probably got out of about eleven
tackles where a player had a hand on him, so
that really frustrated.

Speaker 1 (20:33):
But he was unbelievable. He had eleven clearances as well. Maw.
He was best on for me.

Speaker 4 (20:38):
John Noble, your man, what a game we made a
player like John Noble looks like John Noble.

Speaker 2 (20:45):
It was thirty four degrees baking hot and he probably
got third degree skin cancer.

Speaker 1 (20:50):
Yeah, I think he. I think he had to go
off a couple He doesn't usually come off because he's
very fit.

Speaker 2 (20:54):
Man.

Speaker 1 (20:54):
We had to go off a couple of times. Just
the ladder up the sunscreen with the paint rollery.

Speaker 3 (20:57):
Yeah, you couldn't see tattoos by the.

Speaker 1 (21:00):
Yeah, well you're always backing out. You think he's really good.

Speaker 3 (21:02):
I think John Noble's is very good player, but they
look very dangerous. Gold Coast off half back with their
new recruits Dann Reel. He didn't have his best game,
but Johnny Noble was fantastic.

Speaker 2 (21:13):
Gold Coast still kicked twelve of the last fifteen goals.

Speaker 4 (21:15):
Yeah, so obviously we had the lead a point then
lost by fifty two. Not great Simpcom was really good.
I think he's had a career research good. You can score,
but you can't defend.

Speaker 1 (21:25):
And yeah, one more thing I'm not going to I'm
annoyed that.

Speaker 2 (21:28):
Ben King had a handball in his six possessions five
I know.

Speaker 1 (21:34):
And Clarko talked about polish.

Speaker 4 (21:36):
Oh yeah, le is not happy because he says in
every interview comes out of polish. It's not just that
it's about a game plan, it's about the kicking. Its
polish was just a word that.

Speaker 2 (21:45):
Just I also want to say that your coach is
now coming up with excuses. He I might be on
board with Leo that he's washed. He's come out in
the middle of April going, oh why are we playing
at midday when it's really hot?

Speaker 1 (21:57):
Clark It's April. It's just unseasonably AFL players are they
like the fittest players. Also, you've been playing in a
sworner for three weeks at Marble.

Speaker 2 (22:05):
Stop complaining, mate, Be a better coach. You're a Premiership
winning coach. Be better fan bases.

Speaker 1 (22:12):
Fan base is not great, but we'll be Carlton next week.
So wow, a gold coast like this is amazing.

Speaker 2 (22:19):
So in the last decade, teams that have started four
and oh haven't missed the finals and this is.

Speaker 3 (22:25):
Their best best start.

Speaker 2 (22:27):
Yeah season, when you start four and four from four,
you don't miss finals in the last decade. The only
two teams, the only team in the last fifteen years
to miss when starting four and oh take a.

Speaker 1 (22:38):
Guess, it's ones. Those ones did it h.

Speaker 2 (22:43):
Essendon twice one when they got expelled from the finals
because of drugs.

Speaker 1 (22:46):
And one and one and whatever it takes, whatever it takes.

Speaker 2 (22:50):
That's a good song. But yeah, Essendon the only team
to miss when starting four in is yip a over
for the other game on Saturday again, stinking hot this
this sucked. Carlton seventeen nineteen one twenty one played in
the second half West Coast six fourteen fifty. This game
in the first half was the worst piece of rubbish

(23:12):
I've ever seen.

Speaker 1 (23:13):
In terms of just both teams.

Speaker 3 (23:15):
Oh, it was protic the worst the first half. Or
Carlton's open training, which you said was kind.

Speaker 2 (23:20):
Of Oh, so I went to Carlton's open training on Friday.
I stayed for fifteen minutes and left because it was rubbish.
Like we love Carton though, oh we like we love
car They've been very good to us with player access
to that. But the open training session, the skills were terrible,
like the lack of urgency. There was just deplorable and
social giral spence. I was like, oh, you guys suck

(23:41):
and she's like yeah, and then you see that first
half and it's just like, oh, this is the worst
thing I've ever seen. Just simple Ford entries that no
one can hit. Everyone's missing targets, like there wasn't a
breath of wind. It was stinking hot, it was no
one could kick straight. No, as you can see, that
goal is ninety. The fact they still got to one
twenty one though three goals thirty three.

Speaker 1 (24:01):
That's positive.

Speaker 4 (24:01):
I know it was against West Coast, but the positive
is they finally had a good second half.

Speaker 1 (24:05):
They've run out the game at least against a bunch
of children.

Speaker 2 (24:09):
There's fifteen players on this worst Coast team that shouldn't
be on a list. So we're on a list because
West Coast or rubbish.

Speaker 4 (24:14):
Yeah, are they the worst team? We got to say
that the worst and rich worst team ever? No, No, Melbourne,
that Demon's team was like early tens. Yeah, like twelve
or thirteen.

Speaker 1 (24:27):
They were.

Speaker 4 (24:27):
They were bad, not the worst team ever, but right
now they have to be the worst because I'm just
saying that as a North fan.

Speaker 1 (24:32):
I want to get some with other ranks of it.

Speaker 3 (24:34):
But definitely rich Richmond. Richmond beat them, even even at
times there were patches. Today we're getting a bit off top.

Speaker 2 (24:41):
There's three Eagles players that have over twenty touches. Then
you look one, two, three, four, five, six seven eight.

Speaker 1 (24:47):
Yeah, Baker was really good. Again, he's been really solid.

Speaker 2 (24:49):
But it's one two, three, four, five six seven players
with under ten touches for the Eagles. It's just they
aren't good and they have a long way to go.
And I'm going to keep bringing up every week. Giving
up your future for Chad Warner is not going to
fix your problems.

Speaker 4 (25:05):
Yeah, one hundred percent. They've recruited Paul, They've obviously dropped
him Kelly now who was basically their marquee guy, so
not gone.

Speaker 3 (25:12):
Well, I feel like Ruben Jimbi can be that Chad
Warner sort of players.

Speaker 1 (25:16):
He's playing backline back at the moment.

Speaker 2 (25:18):
Yeah, so we'll talk about carle bit So first. First
of all, Harry McKay cancussion out of head clash with
Tom Tom Gross Gross. Yeah, why didn't Tom Gross come
off for hia. I'm just throwing it out there. Is
it looked bad, Brody Camp. I think he snapped his
achilles because you just took off and fell to the
ground like a sack of Yeah, it wasn't good. But

(25:38):
Carlton led by twenty nine at half time, came out,
just went whack whack whack. But I think I sent
did I send stats in one of the chats? Did
actually you need to find that today? Yeah, in one
of our chats, so some Carton stats. So West Coast
I only had seventy seven contested possessions of the game.
It's the lowest in the history of the AFL. They
lost that by fifty nine. They lost the inside fifty
seventy three to thirty five, they lost clearances forty to eighteen,

(26:01):
and they lost the game by seventy one. This shows
you what kind of team we're dealing with. And this
is coming against a team that was zero and zero
four coming into it.

Speaker 1 (26:09):
Just not about to check that zero.

Speaker 2 (26:13):
But Sam Wlla was three goals, thirty seven three votes.

Speaker 4 (26:16):
I think that is the best game I was against
West Coast that like, in terms of statstudy, the best
game of his career.

Speaker 1 (26:21):
Thirty seven and three goals, Zach Merrill.

Speaker 3 (26:23):
He needed a game like that, Seam Walsh because he
has been underwhelming so far the season and also i'd
say for a fair chunk of last season as well.

Speaker 4 (26:31):
I think that shows his fitness because we were we
were worried about being worried about Carlton's fitness.

Speaker 1 (26:35):
He was played him on the outside, on the outside.

Speaker 2 (26:38):
Luke Hodge said it on Thursday, Ye play Sam Mosh
on the outside and he.

Speaker 4 (26:42):
Was just working up and down the both ends of
the ground. Or just good to see the fitness coming
out of it. So hopefully Carton hit on a.

Speaker 2 (26:48):
Roll a little bit, a little bit with us Sidney
Swan's legend George, he would have thirty nine. He was everywhere,
just all over the place, running up and down all days.
The fittest man on that field, just his work right,
just out working a lot of those Eagles players, which
allowed Crypts a role Ford and kick a couple of guys.

Speaker 1 (27:02):
Yeah, Corey don't have more goals.

Speaker 4 (27:05):
He jumped out up from the vfl Olivia behind the camera,
social girl was very happy that he's in.

Speaker 1 (27:10):
She should be, He should be in the VFI. He
needs need some more goal scoring options.

Speaker 4 (27:14):
I do think it can be that small forward that
they need because has a bit up and down, but
he just needs to provide a bit more consistency against
the better teams.

Speaker 3 (27:21):
I'll get that. But I feel like Matt always was
that man and man and Carlton.

Speaker 4 (27:25):
Fans pretend I know so many convents, they pretend that
Matt always wasn't that good boy.

Speaker 3 (27:30):
He wasn't good, but I mean serviceable, workman like, but
he did manage to hit the hit the school board
against his old and the commentators tried to make it
like a big thing.

Speaker 2 (27:40):
You're down by seventy the goal anyway, fan bases can't like, well, sweet,
can we beat North Melbourne, question Mark and West Coast like?
Oh man? Even Essendon may bet it's by one hundred.

Speaker 3 (27:51):
Yeah that.

Speaker 2 (27:55):
Our teams didn't win this weekend yet to get y. Yeah,
we'll take a quick break here from our sponsors. Be
back after this because nights game is going to be happy.

Speaker 5 (28:04):
Missed by one on the AFL. With TAB, you can
stay in the game missed by one on any disposal's
leg and TAB will still pay you out as a winner.

Speaker 2 (28:13):
TAB where on imagine what you could be buying instead.
All right, let's get to nor what oval. I'm calling
it Game of the round. Brisbane Lines eighteen ten one
one eight ran over the Western Bulldogs fourteen thirteen ninety seven.

Speaker 1 (28:29):
This is what you call a game of two halves, gentlemen.

Speaker 2 (28:32):
At halftime it was sixty two to twenty nine at
at the end of the game one one eight to
ninety seven. This is the eighth time in a row
that when Brisbane Lines have trailed at half time, they've
just gone so.

Speaker 1 (28:42):
What we're going to win?

Speaker 2 (28:43):
All they do is when when I cruised it the.

Speaker 1 (28:47):
First time was even worse the first time, and I
wasn't in the second time. The dogs look so good early.
I think we are head on. In the hotel after
we came back to Brian went and got a sunstroke.

Speaker 3 (28:58):
Oh it was bloody hot. Can we talk about the Footbarossa.
There needs to be more shade.

Speaker 1 (29:03):
There was, Yeah, there was no shame Norwood, there's no
there's a stand, there's no like.

Speaker 3 (29:07):
Yeah, my mum went to the Richmond game today and
they had to leave like fifteen minutes in the second
quarter because the heat.

Speaker 1 (29:14):
Was just ridiculous.

Speaker 3 (29:15):
It wasn't this hot.

Speaker 2 (29:16):
We were there last year, sat stood in the sun
for the whole game. It wasn't that hot. We got
lucky today we went to the g W Sands game.
We got into the media area, but if you weren't there,
it was just dreadful. But anyway, this the dogs so well? Yeah?
No the second quarter mate, seven goals to seven goals
to one. I'm just sitting there going, ha, what's this?

Speaker 1 (29:38):
Yeah, maybe Aaron Norton would be good for the for
the Norwood Red Legs.

Speaker 2 (29:41):
Maybe that's maybe. Yeah, And then Eric Kipwood went side. Yeah,
Eric Kip would say NFL superstar.

Speaker 3 (29:47):
He already have one touch a half time and then
he finishes.

Speaker 2 (29:50):
Everyone was going up about how good it was for Eric.
I mean, Eric thought he was playing a preseason game.
It didn't count.

Speaker 4 (29:55):
I'm still on the thing of full hippie. We had
full What did we say last year? Full Joe Joe
full Joe dwn hair the second half Baggs. There's a
really good photo if you can find online, of Chris
Fagan giving him a death there and he went up
to he put a half done and goes, what are
you doing? You're supposed to be big forward and he
goes down and kicks five and absolutely dominated. Before that though,

(30:17):
Sam Darcy was absolutely tearing apart Harris Andrews.

Speaker 1 (30:20):
I know Sam does is going to tear it but
everyone because he's long arms.

Speaker 4 (30:22):
But he kicked two goals three again, he didn'tkick show
he kicks accurate kicks five straight last week, yeah, I know,
but the week before he I think kicked three behinds
as well.

Speaker 1 (30:30):
Just needs to kick a little bit more accurate accurate.

Speaker 2 (30:32):
For all the talk about how good Sam Darcy was,
Logan Morris was better.

Speaker 3 (30:35):
That's all saying, even when yeah, even the first half,
when was the Logan Morris. Logan Morris was the one
who was keeping in that game, And just shows the
maturity that all the Brisbane young players.

Speaker 2 (30:44):
Oh yeah, like the ash Cross I'm a big Jasper,
Fletcher guy.

Speaker 3 (30:48):
Darcy Wilmot as well. They're playing above their class and
they've they've definitely got the best big grade level players. Two.
I agree, that's good.

Speaker 2 (30:57):
Yeah. I also thought calim Archie was good. Rain popped
up with the girls, but him McCluggage just decided to
go a huge mcluggage with thirty two huge.

Speaker 3 (31:04):
Also, the amount of goals that Brisbane walked in. Yeah,
the second half when they were on that run.

Speaker 1 (31:10):
Yeah, we're talking about that. They just got so many
on the line.

Speaker 3 (31:13):
The Dogs are pressing up to way too high.

Speaker 4 (31:15):
Yeah, lob was I was going to talk about lobed
hair again. That's pretty funny thought.

Speaker 3 (31:20):
There were times where players were taking a contested mark
on the of the goal square and they just get
up and walk it in with Dog players around them.

Speaker 1 (31:26):
Yeah, Brainer and hipp Wood were on the line.

Speaker 2 (31:28):
Norton popped up a bit then sort of faded out
of the game. He did kick three like Riley West
had a weirdly good game, but he kicked one goal
three like if he kicked straight. Yeah, it's a completely
different story. Matt Kennedy is such a bull in that
midfield for the has been so again, imagine if Carlton
had him, what did he.

Speaker 1 (31:44):
End up with? Six cleans?

Speaker 4 (31:46):
That's probably his best game and the Dogs there was
about four guys that were taped up their heads as well.

Speaker 3 (31:52):
There's a lot of head clashes and bumps and things.

Speaker 2 (31:54):
It just looked like we also paid out for liber
having twenty fours. We had him for twenty five.

Speaker 1 (31:57):
Exactly right, and my Ship of Richards twenty five plus.

Speaker 2 (32:01):
Also tips We're going to have to put Charlie Cameron
on Carton and Milks soon because that dude's missing. Oh yeah,
that is such an old school finished with zero three,
didn't kick a guy.

Speaker 3 (32:12):
And he had a couple out on the fools as well.

Speaker 4 (32:15):
He's he's just not good at the moment, is he?
And he's supposed to be Because I think there was
a show talking. I can't re which one was who's
the best small forward? A lot of small felds in
one good week and then technically it's.

Speaker 2 (32:25):
Jack Higgins right now, but then he was horrible. Today
it's Toby. Toby is the best small ball.

Speaker 3 (32:30):
He needs to go to sleep with a picture of
Paul Curtis on his room.

Speaker 2 (32:33):
Yes, Paul Curtis. Jack Bailey was good to kick three.
It's was random Zach Bailey games when he pops up
and does well. But this was This was just a
great game of foot If you're gonna watch a game
of footy from the weekend or okay, mini, it's this
one because this was awesome.

Speaker 4 (32:44):
Yeah, it was just the ball around in the small ground.
You can get a vibe vibes everyone was buzzing.

Speaker 3 (32:50):
Awesome.

Speaker 2 (32:50):
Yeah, everyone having tins on the hill, some of us
watching fangirl bolt in the corner of the turf was
a great afternoon. Fan bases Western Bulldogs like, oh okay,
that's two in a row that we've leaked go So
they leaked fourteen goals in the second half. They leaked
six before half time against Freer last week. So they've
got to try and stop that. Stop those stop those runs.

Speaker 4 (33:07):
Yeah, you still be happy as a dog's I think, yeah,
because you know they weren't expected to.

Speaker 3 (33:14):
They are conceding too many points for my liking.

Speaker 2 (33:17):
To be quickly.

Speaker 3 (33:18):
Yeah, to make good.

Speaker 1 (33:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (33:22):
And Brisbane keep on rolling, Babby, just keep rolling. Win
like every year game against Colling with Thursday night.

Speaker 4 (33:28):
We talked about Brisbane last week. Fans, if you're down
by thirty because.

Speaker 2 (33:31):
Yea Gabba East Thursday the Gabba. Remember when someone was like, oh,
it's a worry that Brisbane lanes kept filling. No, they
keep winning.

Speaker 1 (33:37):
Who cares Swans couldn't win first calls? They kept winning,
keep winning. Saturday night the death Now you know when
the Undertaker comes out, you know when you hear the gong.

Speaker 2 (33:49):
But to hear the gong. The Gongs were playing in
this game for Simon Goodwin's coaching career as Welbourne eight
nine fifty seven defeated by US and in fifteen six
ninety six. Marcus got to see team when this was
not good.

Speaker 1 (34:03):
That was very happy.

Speaker 3 (34:03):
It wasn't a good game. It wasn't pretty, but I
think it's more you take the four points and move
on the next one.

Speaker 2 (34:07):
You're not winning by forty so well.

Speaker 3 (34:09):
Yeah, but we did kick two or three goals in
the last minute.

Speaker 1 (34:11):
We're walking extend. That was just two or three goals.

Speaker 3 (34:14):
I missed that two goals in the last twenty seconds.

Speaker 1 (34:17):
To becauselourn are just like oh ware done. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (34:21):
Well, Melbourne had their typical good fifteen minutes of footy
at the start of the game.

Speaker 3 (34:24):
I thought it was like the third quarter about like
when when Essenmon were playing really well. I'm like, hold on,
this could be a big win for us, a good
percentage Brewster considering to ten goals. But then you know,
the momentum started to swing a little bit. Bailey Fridge
Zach kicked a nice one after an out in the full.

Speaker 1 (34:44):
Yeah he still was crap, like their forward line the
worst two or three.

Speaker 4 (34:49):
In the end, they have the worst for performing forward line,
not a paper but performing forward line in the competition.

Speaker 1 (34:53):
West Coast no kick six goals man, Yeah, but they
was eight. That's not that much. That are like, I
don't know, I just Melbourne's fall.

Speaker 3 (35:02):
That is so bad, saying the end of the season.
They're putting way too much pressure on Van He's only
number one too forward, he's only tall.

Speaker 2 (35:09):
Melbourne have kicked two more girls than West Coast this season.

Speaker 1 (35:12):
That's not great.

Speaker 3 (35:12):
In Melbourne's list is a lot better, is it?

Speaker 2 (35:16):
Is it?

Speaker 4 (35:16):
Really?

Speaker 3 (35:16):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (35:17):
Yes, he's just roasted West Coast half And now I
mean the D's list isn't that great either at the moment.

Speaker 2 (35:22):
No, just underperforming. No, no, they're not underperforming. It's Bailey
Fritz has fallen off a hill. It's been the same
problem year on year ever since that twenty twenty one
Grand Final. They needed a key target. They had Ben Brown.
He's gone. You're making Jacob van Ruin your number one
key forward, but you're also making him his second ruck. Yeah,
did dominate the ruck. I'll give him that because Nick
Bryan went down.

Speaker 1 (35:42):
And did his Yeah the bombs because Nick Brian, although
he's not like a superstar, he is.

Speaker 3 (35:47):
He's pretty good gets around the ground.

Speaker 1 (35:49):
He gets around the ground, whereas drape Bar has been
a lot better forward. He was actually pretty solid. Draper.

Speaker 4 (35:53):
He took a big hangar, got a few moments a lot.
Draper does a little dribble on the boundary and everyone's
standing up. Is a weird guy, but he's weirdly quick.
He's a weirdly athletic, but he doesn't look like he is.

Speaker 1 (36:04):
I don't know. He's a strange guy. But Gorn was, yeah,
really good back to it.

Speaker 2 (36:09):
But it's also like, you know, Clarie was buzzing around
doing all right.

Speaker 1 (36:12):
Jack Clari.

Speaker 2 (36:15):
So many nothing the track and butchered the footy a
fair bit. It's like, so the demons came out in
the second half. It's like they need an answer. They're
gonna get bown out by sixty seventy points here, and.

Speaker 1 (36:22):
They came out.

Speaker 2 (36:23):
They kicked a few goals. Cosey was up and about
Bailey Fridge snag's one. The turning point of this is
they got it to ten points. Stephen may is going
to take a mark and Nick Martin's like, nah, knock it.
Out of your hand and walked into an open goal.

Speaker 1 (36:34):
They were gone.

Speaker 2 (36:35):
As soon as that goal was kicked over.

Speaker 3 (36:37):
Yep, the momentum you could you could just heil around
the ground as well. These fans got a little bit
flat for your boy, your man Alex who had a
rip snorter of a game, Ed Langdon only five and
a goal. He was down half back.

Speaker 1 (36:50):
The people he had a magnet.

Speaker 4 (36:52):
There was every forward entry, sorry, every second forward entry
because you guys kicked a lot of goals.

Speaker 1 (36:56):
In the end.

Speaker 3 (36:56):
Ed kicked a goal.

Speaker 1 (36:57):
He gets a goal, but he was ever. He is
the fittest man in the competition. I'm pretty sure he has.
He didn't come off for like a solid teen games
in ro Lash.

Speaker 3 (37:04):
He doesn't go off. He's four.

Speaker 4 (37:09):
Yeah, he's another underrated guy that just is the perfect
outside player.

Speaker 2 (37:13):
Nick Martin and twenty and a girl. Ben Hobbes, who
we were like, who's that? It's Ben Hobbs exactly.

Speaker 3 (37:18):
I'm so I'm so always so frustrated with Ben Hobbes.
But that is his best game in as.

Speaker 1 (37:23):
When he disposed two goals. Zach Merritt, I love watching
Zach Merrett, I hate I love watching them.

Speaker 2 (37:29):
We got to stop saying we hate teams because people
get annoyed.

Speaker 4 (37:32):
If he leaves, I will cry, Yeah, I mean and
then Giant. I was gonna say Giant Menzi legacy game.
But he's he was best four goals, and he's best
before that was two.

Speaker 1 (37:42):
So he popped up. Really, he was really good, and.

Speaker 3 (37:45):
That's that's been a problem with Essend and his goals
from small forwards.

Speaker 2 (37:48):
Yeah, a few of the D's young guns that are
coming through just didn't have good knights. Lindsay and Henderson
went went great.

Speaker 1 (37:55):
CaCO just what was he doing at the moment with
the wrong way.

Speaker 2 (38:00):
He's more he's more sizzled than Steak at the moment
that he's only but he's in his first season. We're
expecting a lot of him because he got cool hair,
because there was the hype about the way he got drafted.
I reckon, we need to cool our jets on him.
If he pops up a go every second week, he's
doing his job. He's creating pressure. It's if he does
the same thing for two more weeks.

Speaker 3 (38:19):
Though, he's he's putty, like who needs to improve? Yeah,
but he also did get he got burnt to a
Crisp a couple of days because we were in the
last quarter. He took the thirty seconds instead of Nick
Martin and Cacko running the goals career.

Speaker 2 (38:34):
Yeah, he turned his back. Never turned you back. Always
always keep your eyes forth. It's the first rule when
you play turn you back. Fan base is DEEZEZ zero
on five. So they're fans like, oh man, good, he's
got to go.

Speaker 1 (38:44):
Like they want to. I saw this post today. I
really liked it.

Speaker 4 (38:48):
I was like, they want to flag that had an
asterisk on it in COVID and now they're crapp and
they thought that was the dynasty, Like as these fans
would be really hurting because they my mother in law. Yeah,
the last twenty years they've had an absolute horror run.
Now it's happening.

Speaker 2 (39:01):
Hold on, let's just quickly if they play free on
next week, Oh that's a loss.

Speaker 1 (39:04):
Do we want to do this? Anzac day Eve Richmond.

Speaker 3 (39:08):
They should win that, but it's fifty to fifty that
could be I don't think fifty.

Speaker 1 (39:13):
You know, you said fifty to fifty that's going to
be the score. Yeah, no, neeems gonna cop.

Speaker 2 (39:16):
And then they have West Coast in Perth. So if
they're if they don't beat West Coast, if they're one
and seven after eight rounds, I think Goodwin's gone. They
have to beat rich I reckon, they have to beat
Richmond for Goodwin to keep your job.

Speaker 3 (39:29):
They are kicking winnable schools. They're averaging sixty points again
this season, so bad.

Speaker 2 (39:33):
I talked about it all last year. It was my
big thing that they can't kick a score and they're
just simply rubbish and they are and essenon fan base
you're like, yes, yes, we're like you look good.

Speaker 3 (39:42):
We'll take the four points, move on if we can
use it as a momentum, just you know, keep the winning,
winning times rolling.

Speaker 2 (39:48):
Just know how to win.

Speaker 3 (39:49):
I think that's important. Yep.

Speaker 2 (39:50):
Back to the Barasa Sunday, Richmonds seven five forty seven
weren't actually terrible defeated by Freeman's sixteen twelve one o eight.
So this is this is a team that Richmond team.
At halftime they were down by ten points and they
kicked one goal on the second half. Yeah, you look
at the first half an isolation and go great effort,
that's fantastic. How good second half got blown out by

(40:13):
a really good team. We've kicked nine goals, not only
kicking one goal on the second half and then only
kicking two behinds in the final quarter. Poor, But you're
going to expect that from this team now and then
I have we know what Richmond do. We expect more
from West Coast and melt that'll played.

Speaker 1 (40:26):
Well the g as well.

Speaker 4 (40:27):
I think yeahs they proved against Brisbane. I was there
just again you're on the annoying thing.

Speaker 3 (40:32):
Yeah, the ex.

Speaker 1 (40:33):
Cyclone day it was he kicked up, he kicked six six.

Speaker 4 (40:37):
One was he was getting angry in like the second
half when they went passing to him because he wanted.

Speaker 1 (40:41):
To kick ten like he was.

Speaker 4 (40:42):
I was like, mate, you're up by what are you
up by forty points? But the first that was actually
really good. Tigers fans were really up and about.

Speaker 3 (40:47):
Richmond the majority of the first it was good.

Speaker 1 (40:49):
The ball was flinging around, the pressure from the Tigers
really good. This was like this, that's the thing.

Speaker 2 (40:54):
If Richmond can keep that up for a full game
against a team that's probably we expect a lot out
of free that's a lot lower than Freo, like a
Melbourne and Adelaide, maybe even a Sydney but then they
can probably pop them off.

Speaker 3 (41:03):
So many wins. Do you think Richmond get the year
far four?

Speaker 2 (41:09):
Two, possibly three?

Speaker 1 (41:10):
I reckon, I reckon I could be the I reckon
I could beat the.

Speaker 2 (41:13):
D's and West Coast at the MCG. I don't know
if they've got West Coast the MCG yet. Yeah, because
it's like they come, they go to the MCG and
like Dave, that's that is their grand final. And then
if they lose their next five by sixty, who cares?
You've done that?

Speaker 3 (41:24):
Well, they got dream Time. They typically play well with
dream Time as well, so that could big game.

Speaker 1 (41:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (41:28):
So this this game was more as I said, it
was a game in two halves. The biggest worry for
me as a not a.

Speaker 1 (41:33):
Freemantle fan, four Freemantle fans, gian miss he went I missing.

Speaker 3 (41:39):
Ah he's been he's been a bit man. Underwhelming, No,
none of that.

Speaker 2 (41:43):
He's been extremely underwhelming ever since he copt that incussion
the start of ASH he had two touches.

Speaker 1 (41:48):
Oh and they smoked him as well.

Speaker 4 (41:50):
Yeah, I just realized I was there, and I genuinely
if you said the Giant miss play, I wouldn't even know.

Speaker 2 (41:57):
It's Josh Tracy's four ye now six girls one. Frederick
popped up with three. Shy Bolton was zipping around. He
could have had he could have had a really big day,
but to kick two goals three it was really this
is one of those games that you look back on
and go everything kind of worked for three on the
second half. They where they wanted the way they came
out of clearance. Brayshaw, Sarong Chapman found plenty of the footy.
Jordan Clarke's working into the season well as is Hat

(42:20):
and Young. Like everything that they wanted out of those
players who were sort of that nucleus in the midfield
end running off half back is what they wanted.

Speaker 3 (42:26):
Will Saton Young's first games going back, he played, I
think like, yeah, he's played in the limited minutes as well.

Speaker 1 (42:32):
Were talking that's what I.

Speaker 2 (42:32):
Mean, working back into it. Jaeger's popping around doing bits.
Jeremy Sharp's all right, Jacob Popper, he's been fantastic last
two weeks.

Speaker 1 (42:40):
A lot of nothing touches he's been in and under
ya but who else.

Speaker 3 (42:44):
Is going to get them?

Speaker 2 (42:45):
But it's also like you look at the clearances, like
the top clearance clearance, get it was six and then
it's name Ca and hop it with five apiece.

Speaker 4 (42:51):
The best on ground though, because if you were there,
you might not know. Just Tracy other than I almost
put Alex Pierce was unbelievable. He was taking I think
he talk about ten I mean goals. Well, kicked his
first goal of the year. He's only kicked five goals
in his whole career. That was his sixth goal. Seven marks.
He was just running off.

Speaker 1 (43:07):
He was playing with Luke Ryan's role as a big guy.

Speaker 3 (43:10):
He was taking marks his.

Speaker 1 (43:11):
Running off half back.

Speaker 4 (43:13):
Yeah, Luke Ryan, I don't know if he was injured
or something. They subbed him out as just to be
he had a sore shoulder.

Speaker 1 (43:18):
Apparently they stubbed out early.

Speaker 2 (43:20):
But it's like the game was over halfway through the
third quarter.

Speaker 1 (43:22):
So Tom Lynch looked injured even from the stats.

Speaker 2 (43:24):
I mean, you've got to You've got to manage Tom
Lynch through this season because if you don't have him
without LA four back as yet because he did his
knee last year, when he comes back like that, that
forward line can do some damage.

Speaker 1 (43:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (43:34):
And then Luke Jackson as well was a big one.
He was out in the third quarter. Soluke one of
my so that ja yeah, sorry, yeah that.

Speaker 2 (43:43):
Was I said, looked, Yeah he saw him through the
rundle Moore the other day. Yeah, big big boy. But no,
so that would have been their dream scenario with Darcius
to get him half way through the third quarter because
they said he's kind of not ready.

Speaker 1 (43:54):
Yeah, I don't reckon you'll playing next week and Jackson
for a couple of weeks.

Speaker 3 (43:59):
That's a begause.

Speaker 2 (43:59):
I reckon I playing because it's six days They're going
to play next Saturday at the MCG.

Speaker 3 (44:03):
Well they got to do they do have a promising
ruckman in the wings or believe Oh yeah they do.
I can't. I can't remember they do.

Speaker 4 (44:11):
They do? Another good one for beer fans. This guy
needs to be in their starting team. He's just building
into the season.

Speaker 3 (44:20):
Is Dudley.

Speaker 1 (44:21):
Dudley. He came on as he is so good.

Speaker 4 (44:24):
The crowd as soon as he came on with cheering
because they're up by forty points and everyone's like, this
is a crack. Oh Dudley's on. He took a few bounces,
he did a flip, he was he was everywhere. He
got a couple of goal assists.

Speaker 3 (44:32):
Well, we're talking about cell, can we talk about Pat
Voss Mitch Mark. He went he did the fend off
snapper around the shoulder and he went to the races.
He was running as a big boy.

Speaker 1 (44:44):
That was so funny. Get away him.

Speaker 4 (44:46):
I think him on the commentary was like, I've never
seen him run so fast. He morning when he got
seven hundred, they was off to play against him because
he doesn't do that much in a game, but when
he does something good, he goes up and about and I'm.

Speaker 3 (44:59):
Like, like, again, he was always a he just couldn't
quite crack it into the team when he was a Eson.
His secret is he's a good teammate.

Speaker 1 (45:07):
Like doesn't his secret is spraying set shots when it's
a crucial time.

Speaker 4 (45:10):
No, his secret is he doesn't drink beers anymore. That
that's what he's That's why he's playing well.

Speaker 2 (45:14):
As a point I reckon, I'm the only person over
the age of eighteen that hasn't consumed an alcoholic beverages.

Speaker 3 (45:20):
Disgrace was one of more Pete Adams.

Speaker 1 (45:22):
Then, Yeah, theh wasn't terrible on Friday Night.

Speaker 2 (45:26):
He was He's just got to realize that he's six
foot seven and not you know, one hundred and forty
eight centimeters.

Speaker 1 (45:31):
The way he darts around takes about in Adelaid as well.

Speaker 2 (45:35):
There's a lot of I love the God blessed Peter Adams.

Speaker 3 (45:37):
What your thoughts on? Sure, buttons game against his form, solid.

Speaker 2 (45:40):
Solid, He set up so many guys working into the season.

Speaker 4 (45:42):
Just kicked zero three and he tosses in the first
half and then then he cost my big Relax.

Speaker 2 (45:50):
Yeah, he's working into the season well, but he's trying
to do too much at the moment.

Speaker 1 (45:53):
Yeah, band bases Richmond.

Speaker 2 (45:55):
Well, the first half was good. I turned it off
at halftime. Yeah, and Frow like good. That was concept
that there was like, oh no, it's fine.

Speaker 1 (46:03):
I think the weather.

Speaker 4 (46:04):
I didn't say this before Gold Coast and Frio down
at Barrossa because just the heat the weather helps.

Speaker 1 (46:10):
Weather does help.

Speaker 2 (46:11):
It's been stinking hot in Melbourne this summer. Yeah, but no,
I'm not buying into that. No, it's been hard talking
about the time.

Speaker 1 (46:19):
So I'm talking about the weather.

Speaker 2 (46:20):
Yes, because because sleep clocks at this different thing. Okay, alright,
let's go back to Norwood. But once again, it was
stinking hot. But oh my god, this game of footy
was hot as GWS sixteen one ten defeated Since Kilda
twelve and eighty two. Again, what two best games of
the week were at Norwood as we thought out the weak, Yeah,

(46:43):
this game was great.

Speaker 4 (46:44):
I thought the Friday night was probably Thursday, sorry, thursdays long.

Speaker 2 (46:49):
The three best games, they are the three best games
out of it. So yeah, lucky Ash had a career
best game. He was everywhere, but this it was tobied.

Speaker 1 (47:01):
That is that his best game in like two years?
How many goals he's kids this season?

Speaker 3 (47:05):
In all fairness, finally got some sleep in the off season.

Speaker 2 (47:10):
He's got the dad strength five goals, seventeen touches, but
he was absolutely everywhere. Nazi won't get Malira that Holy crawd.
I know that the Saints are worried about Tom decarning
and that maybe sign up Nats because he is going
to be worth every cent that you give him.

Speaker 3 (47:23):
Yeah, I think I think he's already good.

Speaker 1 (47:25):
His mindset crows.

Speaker 3 (47:27):
Yeah to come back to South how.

Speaker 2 (47:29):
Good that half back line going to be? Cooper Sharman
Leo's favorite player kick three as well? Yes, and Jake
Stringer finally got on the board. Finally, kicked a couple
of goals. He kicked too too. He was he was okay,
as was Jesse Hogan. Not a big game for him,
but he was on Wilkie. But the thing is he
needs to get on the ball a little bit more.

Speaker 3 (47:45):
Only eight touches for Jake for someone who I know
they got still got a plethoro of midfielders. But he
is a guy that you can just chuck in there
to center bounce and just the.

Speaker 2 (47:56):
Ground was that small anyway. Josh Kelly, Tom Green starting
in a lot of the clearances, they're weirdly. Tom Green
started half second half on the bench. Was like, what's
he going on here?

Speaker 1 (48:05):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (48:05):
I thought too much.

Speaker 1 (48:07):
Watching the game.

Speaker 4 (48:08):
Hugo Gussie was really good. I think he's built into
the season really well. The first part of the season
everyone goes, oh, bloody brought him into my super coach start,
he had a twenty out of forty, and then he's
been really good since then. He had twenty three touches,
four clearances. I feel like when every time I looked up,
it was like him or Naz setting up their goals,
and I was pretty impressed.

Speaker 1 (48:24):
Briggs.

Speaker 2 (48:24):
He had a good game in the Rock two against
Rowan Marshall as well, but it's like it was the
top end of this and Sam Taylor, Oh god, he's good.
I hate how good Sam Taylor is because just.

Speaker 1 (48:33):
Because Sydney team.

Speaker 2 (48:34):
Yeah, it's just like, mate, like seriously, he's just he's
the best defender in the competition by so far. Isn't funny.
I'm sorry, Harris Andrews. He is better than you right now,
Harris is not.

Speaker 1 (48:42):
Yeah, I wouldn't say he's trying to think of him.

Speaker 2 (48:46):
He's Sam Taylor and Harris Andrews. Mate, I'm trying to
think of who else is up there, honestly, the course,
Darcy Moore up the get in the comments, top three
defense the AFL.

Speaker 1 (48:58):
No, he wasn't bad.

Speaker 2 (48:59):
He wasn't bad on watch. Yeah, I'm just but this
was this was good Like Sinclair popped up, wind Hager
was sort of everywhere, like this was just a really
good game of footy. Like, I know sin Kilda fans
will probably be a little bit annoyed that they lost,
but uh, if you're coming out to be like, there's
a lot to like. Yes, we've considered a score, but
it's the premiership favorites. We've still kicked a score too,

(49:19):
and they're exciting signs. It's like, oh no, we can
we can win some games. And Leo said it, they
can possibly play finals. I know that the other King
just swallowed air. The Other King has had a setback,
but it's like they need him, Like.

Speaker 4 (49:34):
They're playing such a tape without some of their top players,
like it doesn't make sense.

Speaker 1 (49:38):
But yeah, they rather Obviously Max King hasn't.

Speaker 4 (49:41):
Been as good for but I still think you can
help them out a little bit because they rely on
their small skick a lot of goals.

Speaker 3 (49:45):
Yeah, and then you've got and then you've basically got
Camanidie playing on them number one defender. Yeah, he's been good,
which is what Sam Taylor was.

Speaker 2 (49:51):
Google Howard they need Google Howard back, Yeah for sure.

Speaker 3 (49:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (49:55):
So the fan base is basically out of this the
g W we're good and Sint Kilda fans probably not
to annoy that. That's a good start.

Speaker 3 (50:02):
The definitely be I think they're expecting the loss, so
he probably can't be too disheartened. But they are definitely
overperforming so far this season. I had them pretty much
as a banker for almost bottom four.

Speaker 2 (50:14):
Yeah I did too.

Speaker 4 (50:15):
Yeah, I think I think like twelfth or killed his
own and then just they're one of the best away teams.

Speaker 2 (50:23):
Like last couple of seasons, Harvey Thomas in how many
has played at more grounds than Scott pendlebre one.

Speaker 4 (50:29):
Games Harvey Thomas has played and he's already played at
more grounds than pendle.

Speaker 2 (50:34):
And you wonder why Scott Pendlebury is going to break
the games records because he doesn't travel.

Speaker 4 (50:38):
Oh and he's also a superstar that is very durable
and doesn't get injured, doesn't travel. We're gonna you've gotta
cop that at the comments.

Speaker 2 (50:46):
Anyway, Finally we can do it, but.

Speaker 3 (50:52):
I feel bad'll be the resident Hawthorne now that Lee
is not here. I'm not going to come into this.

Speaker 2 (50:58):
Actually we made to send out like a search team
and like an SOS just to make sure that he's okay.

Speaker 1 (51:04):
He was wearing the Wizard had checkout on the Socials
AFL today.

Speaker 2 (51:07):
Someone dumb at it, ye guys port Adelaide one hundred
and twenty one. I didn't goals thirteen defeat Hawthorn fourteen
seven ninety one. Now this doesn't give like the full
scope of this game. It was seventeen nine to twenty
at halftime. Yeah, and then it was that seventeen twenty.
But then it was also like we got a scare
halfway through the last quarter when Hawthorne kicked like four

(51:29):
goals pretty quickly. They kicked seven goals in the last quarter.
Port Adelaide ended up kicking four goals. Like this margin
doesn't reflect how dominant Port were, Like this was over
at quarter time.

Speaker 4 (51:39):
Yeah, yeah, this is this was just we were watching
they keep the first four goals put Adelaide.

Speaker 3 (51:43):
We're going, what the hell Hawks been a much better team.

Speaker 2 (51:47):
Producer Gerald and I and social Gal Spence watched the
first four goals before coming in to heat a film unbelievable.
Atmosphere was electric, it was insane. Part was good Hawthorne
coming out to I can't even remember what song it was.

Speaker 1 (51:58):
It's it's like, oh yeah, you think you've got a no, yeah,
they look so good.

Speaker 3 (52:06):
It was just one of those games.

Speaker 1 (52:07):
It was had a feeling that the power would be
fight up there. They were gonna they were gonna.

Speaker 3 (52:13):
Run Butters back after obviously he was back in previous
the previous week, but now we had you know as well, yeah,
that's very true. You actually did get his hands on
the field, but they dominated into fifties clearances.

Speaker 2 (52:27):
Well, they scored sixty points from turnaver which is the
big thing. Scoring points from turnovers is a way to
winning the flag as well. Sixty points there. But they
also had eighty one points of their scored were from
four to half chains, which is just insane.

Speaker 1 (52:37):
They just look so silky.

Speaker 4 (52:39):
It was like the Port old where last year they
obviously made the finals. Like this year everyone's got They
don't look like they're going to make the finals. The
forward line fight up. They actually had ten different goal kickers.
Now they don't have that big forwards. Like we've mentioned
about Melbourne, we'll saying the same thing about port If
you have a bit of a spread in your midfield,
sort of like seeing a few other teams kick some
goals out of your midfield. Ten the ten goalkickers, all
they players stepped up. I don't reckon their depth look

(53:01):
that good on paper, but they all stepped up.

Speaker 2 (53:02):
Is it a concern that ten, oh sorry, eleven of
Hawthorne's goals have come from Gunst and Sicily Meek and Warple.

Speaker 1 (53:09):
Yeah, especially six goals for guns Yeah.

Speaker 2 (53:14):
Bruce kicked one like with thirty seconds to go, Marby
was only kicked one, like the Wizard didn't kick one,
Ginevan didn't kick one, like therefore the lone didn't fire
tonight at all, which I've said all the way through,
Like I don't think they can win a flag with
Marby or is the guy Mitch Lewis needs to be there.
But it's like Gunstan's kicked six, which is still a
phenomenal effort, but you can't aligne Jack Gunstan every week.

Speaker 3 (53:33):
Yeah, no, I agree, but I do think do you
do you think Hawthorne can still hould their heads high? No,
as a fan base, even in general, I don't think.

Speaker 4 (53:42):
They should be losing that game to port of being
there were down by like sixty points at one point, and.

Speaker 3 (53:47):
Then with and then we're seven minutes ago. Obviously the
double double goal for will.

Speaker 1 (53:51):
Yeah what about that? So Willary only walks into an
open goal, shows the ball to see.

Speaker 3 (53:57):
For it, you're allul because fine with it.

Speaker 1 (54:00):
There's a bit of beef there.

Speaker 3 (54:01):
Yeah, how funny was it when Ash Johnson showed the
ball in the VFL and.

Speaker 2 (54:05):
Don't do it when you're like Ash Johnson, who's good? Yeah,
you can do it, and then he got the yeah,
the double goal. Well yeah, like thank god. That wasn't
like a very tight game in the end, because you'd
be spelling if you'll see me, if you're giving that away.

Speaker 1 (54:18):
I get it.

Speaker 2 (54:18):
You're frustrated. That's probably it was the seiler at that point,
even though the game was already over, just reassured everyone
that it was done. Hawthorne big concerns ahead of not
big concerns.

Speaker 1 (54:30):
I think this is pt next week against Geelong.

Speaker 4 (54:34):
Yeah, do we think they might have got a little
bit cocky and going, oh, we're going to get the
revenge on.

Speaker 2 (54:39):
They didn't buy into it this week. They were like,
this is another game of footy. I meant subconsciously maybe
I don't know. I reckon port Adim were just more
ready to go. They played last week Hawthorne. It had
to buy They've got a bit of that. It's the
last game of the week. You're hanging around a week
where reported.

Speaker 3 (54:54):
Did we did we learn more about Hawthorne in this game?

Speaker 2 (54:58):
I went, I've went Hawthorn.

Speaker 4 (55:00):
I think this is just one of those games we're
gonna look at the later end of the season. We go,
how the how did Hawks lose that and Por No,
not how much lose that?

Speaker 3 (55:08):
Yeah, I wouldn't say that.

Speaker 1 (55:10):
I think that Port is still not that good.

Speaker 2 (55:12):
I know.

Speaker 1 (55:12):
Just fight up for this game because it's like his
big bravery and Sittney next week at the s CG.

Speaker 3 (55:18):
Yeah, if last time was the ripsnord of a game
when this one smashed him, was the.

Speaker 2 (55:23):
Time before that, the time before that, The time before
that was one hundred point being the time before that
was the two point games?

Speaker 3 (55:29):
Was the flor when he thought he kicked it?

Speaker 1 (55:31):
That was?

Speaker 2 (55:31):
That was That was a really good game in twenty three. Yeah,
early twenty three. Both mccart's got cancust I remember.

Speaker 3 (55:38):
Yeah, we'll talk about the b for this one. Butters
was always He's always in there, the little man.

Speaker 1 (55:41):
He might, he might, he's already got the most fines
in AFI history and he's.

Speaker 3 (55:47):
Both both teams will caught big ones probably, Yeah, CJ. M.

Speaker 1 (55:51):
William there's a bit of a concern. Bergman hurt his knee.
He got subbed out. He was really good early.

Speaker 2 (55:55):
Yeah, he got subbed out in the second quarter. It
was like eleven goals to one at that point. That
was the thing, like this on fans. I've lived this
night mare before. It's okay, you'll be fine. It doesn't
mean anything when it comes to prolems because of Port
Cartwin prelims. But jas Berger and he bounced back. He
had a better game. Will and Drew was good as well.
But the most important thing for me is as a
port fan, Connor Rosie, Yeah, you.

Speaker 1 (56:14):
Need to have twenty eight touches.

Speaker 2 (56:16):
He had the microscope put on him like me, Yeah,
said mate, you're handsome, but get.

Speaker 1 (56:21):
A Kick's handsome, and he got a kick.

Speaker 2 (56:23):
He got a lot of kicks, and Hornet just has
had yet another good game.

Speaker 3 (56:27):
Yeah. The most pleasing thing for put Adelaide is that
goals came from everywhere and there was no like standouts there.
You had a few too, Yeah, a couple three.

Speaker 2 (56:37):
You have Will and Georgiardi kick and six goals between
him each week. And you know, Rosie pow Pepper.

Speaker 4 (56:41):
Joe Richards is proving to be an awesome pick up.
Like again quarterly, I think he's another one that's a
little bit underrated. From two goals sixteen disposals. I'm really
happy with him because he he was in hand with
a lot of goals and one guy that sort of
slipped for the kicked his.

Speaker 2 (56:54):
First goal as well, yep, yep around him.

Speaker 1 (56:58):
I think we're going to say it a bit embarrassing.
I reckon for the for the Hawks coming over there.

Speaker 3 (57:02):
Even celebrating the first goal.

Speaker 1 (57:04):
Halls, No, no, no, no no.

Speaker 4 (57:05):
I'm just saying the Hawks are like that team. They
just think they strut around everywhere. No way should they
be getting smashed by port Adelide. In my opinon, I
feel like you two don't agree with myn that one,
but I think.

Speaker 1 (57:13):
They should be getting that's really bad. I'm being as
to them.

Speaker 3 (57:17):
I think they will be really good.

Speaker 1 (57:18):
That's just what it was. Just what I said in
the off season.

Speaker 2 (57:21):
And I also said it about Yeah so I said
it about the off season, and I said it about
their women's team last year, Hollywood Hawks.

Speaker 1 (57:27):
When things don't go their way, they throw the they
throw the toys out of the cot and they're not happy.

Speaker 2 (57:31):
But they they're young, they're yuppy, they're petulant children.

Speaker 3 (57:36):
They're entertaining.

Speaker 1 (57:36):
It says the man that said there was too many youths.
They're entertaining, entertaining.

Speaker 3 (57:41):
That's what we need in football.

Speaker 2 (57:44):
I love when things but it's also like when things
don't go your way, don't carry on like knobs like,
but he looks that one. I can cop if.

Speaker 1 (57:53):
Someone did that to me and you'd given us a spelting,
you come across and in local footy there would be
a few parts.

Speaker 2 (57:59):
Yeah, there would have been a strike somewhere, but I
didn't mind. It was just a back. Jordan sweet dominated
Meeky as well, forty seven hitouts. I thought he was great.
Me had a good game too.

Speaker 3 (58:09):
I thought Mek was still big on big Sweetie and.

Speaker 1 (58:12):
Can can sleep happy.

Speaker 2 (58:13):
Fan bases can enough?

Speaker 1 (58:15):
How good?

Speaker 2 (58:16):
Yeah, what is it? The transition or whatever it is?

Speaker 1 (58:18):
The coaching plan, Yeah, coaching plans plan, succession plan.

Speaker 2 (58:23):
Josh needs braces and Sam Mitchell will rip threads off
and fan base is like.

Speaker 3 (58:30):
We can't play.

Speaker 4 (58:32):
I was pashed towards them because I didn't think they
should lose this game, let alone get smashed.

Speaker 3 (58:39):
This, I reckon will be just a little bump in them.

Speaker 2 (58:41):
That'll be fine, big game next week. If they can't
win next week.

Speaker 1 (58:45):
But they got h long.

Speaker 2 (58:49):
That was one, two, three four. They've lost five of
their last six of the Adelaide Oval okay, m cook.

Speaker 3 (58:55):
Not a great record.

Speaker 2 (58:57):
See how they go next week.

Speaker 1 (58:59):
There we go.

Speaker 2 (59:00):
After all that, quick check on the tipping results. I
got six of the tip the Swans and Hawthorn and
Adelaide stats guy I got seven, Marcus got seven.

Speaker 3 (59:09):
Yep, I came back. Well the Port game going to win.
But yes.

Speaker 1 (59:15):
They have one.

Speaker 3 (59:16):
They're about ten goals up at the moment. Yeah, but
they brought me back into the sevens.

Speaker 2 (59:21):
Yes, I was.

Speaker 3 (59:22):
I think on some things.

Speaker 4 (59:23):
I tipped Collingwood the show, so again I already apologize,
but I will be tipping closed.

Speaker 2 (59:27):
So with that that brings us to the gather around
twenty twenty six schedule that I've already done that, I've
done the AFL's job for them.

Speaker 1 (59:35):
You're passionate about this, then the rest of the show
promotion relegation made.

Speaker 2 (59:38):
I'm all about it. So Thursday night at the Adelaide Oval,
so obvious teams always have to start at the Adelaide.

Speaker 1 (59:43):
Actually, can we give you We'll give you a rating?

Speaker 3 (59:45):
Okay about your this is yet okay? All right?

Speaker 1 (59:47):
So there is promotion relegation.

Speaker 2 (59:49):
If you've lost games at certain grounds, you get kicked
out North Elbourn and staying at Bross.

Speaker 1 (59:52):
Well, we can't go any further away.

Speaker 2 (59:54):
I put you a border town possibly anyway, and I've
changed the schedule too, So Thursday night Adelaide Oval.

Speaker 1 (01:00:00):
Adelaide played GW West to start it. Yeah, that's a
big tick.

Speaker 2 (01:00:04):
Friday five pm at Norwood, so five pm local time,
since kill to play the DS. No, it's Friday afternoon.
If you're at the pub watching it, fine, don't.

Speaker 3 (01:00:13):
Turn up small ground on two games on Friday.

Speaker 1 (01:00:16):
Two games on Friday.

Speaker 2 (01:00:17):
So Friday five pm into a into a seven forty
start here at the Adelaide Oval.

Speaker 1 (01:00:21):
I like that.

Speaker 3 (01:00:23):
I guess they do want to share it around the ground,
so going to that could be a double header.

Speaker 1 (01:00:27):
No, no, no, no, we're talking about that on Friday
that we were just hanging around. We want to game
another game.

Speaker 3 (01:00:32):
On Friday night.

Speaker 2 (01:00:34):
Collingwood retain their spot. Friday night they play the Gold
Coast Suns who get promoted.

Speaker 1 (01:00:38):
Yep. Saturday Barossa Richmond played the Western Bulldogs yep, yep.

Speaker 2 (01:00:44):
Saturday afternoon three pm, four pm whatever at the Adelaide Oval,
Essendon played Geelong.

Speaker 3 (01:00:50):
Another Adelaide Oval game.

Speaker 4 (01:00:52):
Were you on?

Speaker 1 (01:00:53):
I want to stay there?

Speaker 2 (01:00:54):
And then Saturday night, so the double header you can
have like a half an hour forty minute gap whatever,
come and play Hawthorne.

Speaker 1 (01:01:00):
It oh, that's going to be. Oh, I was gonna
say that could be.

Speaker 2 (01:01:02):
That's a big crowd, Like that's a that's two good games.
Sunday at the Barrassa, North Melbourne play West Coast because.

Speaker 1 (01:01:08):
Well, actually I just want to gather our wins.

Speaker 4 (01:01:11):
So that is a ten out of ten for me,
because we always play these good teams and gather around.

Speaker 2 (01:01:15):
Sunday at Norwood the Swans play Freeman or the Swan's
demoted to Norwood, Freemantle promoted to Norwood.

Speaker 1 (01:01:24):
Slightly harsh.

Speaker 2 (01:01:26):
I'm all for that, and we finish off on the
Sunday night again the same time. Because I loved how
this game started. Port Adelaide played the Brisbane lines.

Speaker 4 (01:01:34):
Yes, there's a bit of a rivalry there too. There's
been a lot of finals rivalry. This could be the
most in agreement I've ever been, so out of ten,
that was pretty good.

Speaker 3 (01:01:43):
I'll give it a seven because I'll.

Speaker 1 (01:01:48):
Go at eight or eight point five.

Speaker 3 (01:01:49):
Because I was very look for Carlton Hawthorne. I don't
know if you want to save the game for the
mc wha.

Speaker 2 (01:01:55):
We had Sydney and Collingwood and Sydney want to play
Collingwood at the MCG or at the SCG. So like
you got to put on a big.

Speaker 3 (01:02:00):
Game because that's what yeah, because that's that's a banker
for another ground for obviously.

Speaker 2 (01:02:05):
That's like Essendon in Geelong as well. But I've got
to You've got to put some good games on and
I thought like Collingwood gold Coast to be a really
fun one for Friday Night two because gold Coast don't
get any Fridays either.

Speaker 1 (01:02:14):
And Collingwood at least can have a good crowd because.

Speaker 2 (01:02:17):
It's got to be a great crowd anyway. Big core results.
That's guy shy Bolton four plus oh.

Speaker 4 (01:02:22):
Body shy bolt and if he's watching, of course he is.
He's kicking kick zero three in the first half. He
absolutely cost me four plus he should have at least
had five. He missed some easy ones and then he
kicked two goals in the second half.

Speaker 1 (01:02:32):
So I was filthy with that.

Speaker 2 (01:02:35):
Marcus jack Higgins loves Adelaide. He probably doesn't because he
probably doesn't because they lost. Yeah, Leo King King and
Long eight plus girls combined.

Speaker 1 (01:02:47):
The first big call of the season.

Speaker 2 (01:02:49):
I got one last week. What these wouldn't get sixty?

Speaker 1 (01:02:53):
Oh it's not a big call anymore.

Speaker 2 (01:02:56):
But second week that was that was a mid call.
Mine was a kick five and you didn't get any
of the footy leos was more impressive.

Speaker 4 (01:03:05):
Literally, So that big call got up on the sign
because Ben Long kicked one from sixty meters out on
the siren.

Speaker 1 (01:03:10):
Full credit.

Speaker 2 (01:03:10):
Best team of the round for me, it's the Brisbane
line to kick fourteen goals in the second half and
turn over that deficit, you are the best team of
the round. Marcus.

Speaker 3 (01:03:19):
Obviously I'm going to go Port Adelaide at the moment
they're still playing, but there are ten goals up and.

Speaker 1 (01:03:24):
They were amazing. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:03:25):
Yeah, many people predicted them to win or you know,
because I thought it was just one of these games
where they get up at Adelade over under the lights
against this Hawthorn team which over.

Speaker 2 (01:03:35):
A ground was with nuts. Was there for the first
twenty minutes. How was pretty cool. It's got nothing on
you know, North London forever. Yeah, I feel like, yeah,
that's the joke. It'll never walk alone is probably the
one or zombie that the island right on the team.

Speaker 3 (01:03:51):
I don't know the liquidator at Stamford Bridge.

Speaker 2 (01:03:56):
And stats man yours.

Speaker 1 (01:03:57):
I'm gonna go Geelong.

Speaker 4 (01:03:58):
Just a lot of people write them of every single
person here tipped Adelaide, every single person.

Speaker 1 (01:04:03):
Most teams believed. No one really believed in Geelong. I
had over Gelong fan.

Speaker 3 (01:04:07):
He was like, no one believed in us and we
got another.

Speaker 1 (01:04:09):
Oh shut up, you've been good for forty years. That
was a great win by Geelong.

Speaker 3 (01:04:13):
A lot of young guys stepped up to swing the momentum.
Thirty points down in Adelaide against Adelaide.

Speaker 1 (01:04:19):
Crowd was born after the game, so that, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:04:22):
I boomed my team too, best on ground of the
weak Toby Green, I saw it. Toby was sick.

Speaker 1 (01:04:27):
He was five goals in fantas. We've seen a lot
of really.

Speaker 2 (01:04:30):
Good performances this week, but I just enjoyed Toby's game.

Speaker 3 (01:04:33):
Yeah, well I'm going to go with Sam Walsh and
it was a bit of It's a bit of a
pity game because it was against West Coast, but he
needed numbers. Is still very good no matter who you
play against.

Speaker 2 (01:04:43):
Is that like when you're play in the PlayStation and
you get annoyed, so you play the team on amateur.
That's what Sam Walsh did.

Speaker 3 (01:04:48):
Yeah, yeah, pretty much.

Speaker 4 (01:04:50):
Yep, fair doesn't count. We already talked about him, but
I'm going nedlong. I think he was the reason why
Colin would beat Sydney a lot of.

Speaker 1 (01:04:58):
As long as their best. He's a terrible choice.

Speaker 3 (01:05:01):
I don't hate the choice. I don't think he one
calling with the game.

Speaker 4 (01:05:05):
I think I think it Idot was bursting through backs,
he got it. He got so many inside fifties for
him off side bottom.

Speaker 3 (01:05:11):
If we're talking about what we predict, how they're going
to play, our expectations of them, yea.

Speaker 1 (01:05:20):
I generally I think he was in.

Speaker 4 (01:05:21):
He was their best player, so that's why, and they
won and absolutely smoke Sydney. Yeah, so I was happy
with that, and I'm going it's.

Speaker 2 (01:05:28):
A terrible choice. Super coach Wash Zacharid got one hundred
and four. That was I would have started mine too.
Riley bias that everyone boarding got eighty nine on a
negative ninety eight break even he's just a lock as
a D six for the rest.

Speaker 3 (01:05:42):
He already one of the top three kicks in the competition.

Speaker 2 (01:05:46):
No there's a better one in this one's team than him,
Braden Campbell.

Speaker 1 (01:05:50):
Yeah, but Braden Campbell Bys goes for those hard kicks
a lot.

Speaker 2 (01:05:54):
That is Braden Campbell. Braden camp was a better kick
of the footy nas Nas got one three three.

Speaker 3 (01:06:00):
You had him captain in draft.

Speaker 1 (01:06:01):
I don't know where you pulled that from. That's a
game in classic, because that's very no one would have
captained him. I captain bray Shaw one five five. Why
captain is the wrong?

Speaker 2 (01:06:09):
He was bas Smith one two six. Caleb Daniels still
somehow got one hundred and sixteen.

Speaker 1 (01:06:14):
He was That was the best game he's played all year.

Speaker 4 (01:06:16):
He had one jourdn't but ninety disposal efficiency and like
thirty touches.

Speaker 1 (01:06:21):
So he was actually him and Zach Fisher. I usually
can't stand.

Speaker 3 (01:06:24):
We're really good on Max Holmes, he's called one forty seven.

Speaker 2 (01:06:28):
Yeah, Blackie Ash got one thirty odd. As he talked Nan,
he's just dominating. Jack supposed to be the best midford
in the competition, only got seventy so he was horrendous
to Max Gore on one four five. Huge mcluggage won
three five and I think there was a big score yes,
samsh one four one.

Speaker 4 (01:06:43):
I'm also going to score less this week than I
did the week before with best eating.

Speaker 2 (01:06:47):
Nick Daykoss won three four Brody Brady Randy who we
forgot to mention he was. He was up for the
fight for this one. He got one two two and
he a one one. He probably just got over the
top of do he came because that was a good
battle that really well split the votes. All right, that'll
do us for IFL today. For today, this has been
the gather around edition? Can we like have couches like
this in our new studio?

Speaker 1 (01:07:07):
We said the exact same thing, building a new studio.

Speaker 3 (01:07:10):
I'm going like this all show.

Speaker 2 (01:07:11):
I'm really comfortable right now.

Speaker 1 (01:07:13):
I like this.

Speaker 3 (01:07:15):
But if you're these kids behind me, we can get
further away from you as possible.

Speaker 1 (01:07:18):
Then yeah, it's actually good.
