Speaker 1 (00:00):

we had? Record breaking?

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Actually, Leo, what do we touch on?

Speaker 3 (00:05):
I'm sad my beloved Hawks last.

Speaker 4 (00:07):
But Geelong just looked awesome and I've got trauma from
hearing Dangerfield's name.

Speaker 3 (00:11):
How good was he?

Speaker 2 (00:12):
Absolutely?

Speaker 5 (00:13):
And the Brisbane lines or crap? Here we go again,
the successive Grand final appearance. Yeah, absolutely awesome for them.
Check out AFL Today right now.

Speaker 1 (00:23):
The pre lim finals are complete.

Speaker 2 (00:25):

Here you going, let's the dream is dead? Everything nothing's
worth living.

Speaker 3 (00:41):
For my life? How are you guys going?

Speaker 5 (00:44):
I'm doing great. This is fantastic. Welcome. What's it like
having your season ended now? For us a bit longer?

Speaker 2 (00:50):
All of our teams have won the same matter grand
finals this year? Yeah?

I don't know.

Speaker 5 (01:15):
We're doing this fresh off the Collingwood Brisbane game, finishing
on a Saturday night. We could have been doing something
better with our lives, like sitting at home alone watching
a movie.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
That's true.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
Yeah, yeah, you'd be out on the town mate.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
I don't know about that one out at south Bank.

Speaker 2 (01:29):
Before we get into the prelim final results, I've got
a bit of a stat for your lads. One hundred
ninety six thousand fans attended the prelims this week at
the MCG for the both games. That is the most
ever combined in VFL AFL history. So AFL is absolutely
flying and surely, surely that's more than the NRL's entire season.

Speaker 4 (01:48):
All right, settled down down, we just that's too far, AFLs.
We racking at too far. I reckon, that's where we
draws alone. You don't like it, you might have to
censor that one.

Speaker 5 (01:57):
Gerald Old fans get into him.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
Yeah, around fans we have let's get into it. In
the prelim final results Friday night at the MCG Geelong
Hawthorne the classic rivalry. Geelong at seven en goals thirteen
one hundred and fifteen, Hawthorne at thirteen goals.

Speaker 1 (02:12):
Seven eighty five. Leo is a bit rattled.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
About Marcus Sar talking about crowds ninety nine, five hundred
and sixty seven, the biggest non Grand Final crowd since
nineteen seventy one. Leo and I were in attendance. I
was having a great time, Leo in the second half, wasn't.

Speaker 5 (02:26):
Unfortunately, Why couldn't they crack the big time?

Speaker 2 (02:29):
What you didn't go? Yeah?

Speaker 5 (02:32):
Yeah, Mark little thirst await yep.

Speaker 6 (02:35):
Sure of your closest friends I should have?

Speaker 5 (02:37):
I don't have.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
That's way to me.

Speaker 5 (02:42):
Well, Geelong they get their first of winning ins Hawthorne
in a door door knockout game. Yes, first time since
nineteen sixty three, so I believe it was. They won
the last four door door matches. It was a really
good game that one as well the Hawks. But he
remembers that because he remembers going to the nineteen seventy
one Grand Final crowd as well. Well, yeah, it was great.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
It was great. It's just a great time.

Speaker 5 (03:02):
And you guys, you guys were there though, Well, tell
me what was the atmosphere, Like.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
I wasn't bad.

Speaker 4 (03:06):
I was surrounded by some Cats fans, some Hawks fans,
which makes sense.

Speaker 1 (03:10):
Because I was surrounded by I don't know what.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
I generally think that was one of the loudest crowds
I've ever witnessed. Yeah, I think maybe a little bit
of recency buyas. But the Hawks fans, especially every time
the Hawks touched the ball, it was just chaos.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
So I love love the support from the Hawks fans.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
Even though they lost.

Speaker 5 (03:27):
I love it. But Geelong they did other than the
first quarter, They did dominate majority of the rest of
the game, and they, in fact, they had some really
big stats go their way. The second biggest differential for
inside fifties in the last ten seasons of Finals footage.
Really Geelong finished with sixty six inside fifties too. I
believe it was Hawthorne's forty, So it's a twenty six swing,

(03:50):
which is the seventh biggest in fainals history the last decade,
along with the forced higher fourth highest clearance differential as
well in those last ten seasons of finals. That's great
domination in the in the major facets of the game.
They got the job done and it's very hard to
see who if Brisban can get past them.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
Yeah, touch on that, but that's it's gonna be tough.

Speaker 5 (04:12):
But they can have possibly have a look at what
the Hawks did earlier, because the Hawks were were fairly
dominant early. They looked too quick for the Cats. They
there's the Cats like similarly Hawthorne what they did to
Adelaide and GB West had them blazing away, kicking out
of defensive fifty. So Hawthorne had seven inter set marks
in the first ten minutes of the game and they
would just look like the vice brousa of young and old.

(04:35):
It looked like the young was going to prevail. And
but once the game settled, and it was mainly when
Tom Stewart came off with that injury, we had the
extended break. That's when Geelong sort of you know, calm
their heads down a bit more of the footy, slowed
the game down and got it on their terms. But
mitche Lewis was someone early on like you were talking about,
was he mobile and off was he good enough to
play in the final series? Thought legacy game ear he

(04:58):
thought he's one from fifty five and one from sixty.
Bit much just flushed it. He's going to look good
in the Red and Black next season, hopefully. But he
finished the game with three goals, all in the first half,
but disappointing second half. Like much of the Hawks side,
he only had one disposal in that second half, and
it was a hot footy early on. It was there
was insane pressure from both sides. That's what prelimbs is

(05:20):
all about. It was bodies on the line early there
was so many. There were people going down left, right
and center. Geulong I almost thought they lost their whole
bench in the first quarter of the game when he
had Tom Stewart obviously go down and be subed out
of the game. Dangerfield went down to the race at times.
We'll talk about his game though. He was superb and
also Jack Henry as well, who looked like he was

(05:43):
for all money, Achilles go on twelve months.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
The ground was ankle and they put a bit of
quarterzone and Jackson in him and then became superman.

Speaker 5 (05:51):
It was, it was, it was. It was a rolled
ankle in the end, but it looked like a really
it was injury, like the way the way and how
we landed, and talk about Stuart Calling going out of
the game with that brutal concussion from the marble or
troll tackle. He's obviously going to miss the Grand Final
due to concussion protocols, which we bring this question in.
We've talked about it, but now there's coming to the

(06:12):
forefront because now it's actually happened. Does their need to
bring a pre Grand Final? By yes, the circumstances like this.

Speaker 3 (06:20):
Yet rid of the pre finals.

Speaker 4 (06:23):
By it is an absolute joke that we have that
in have the momentum rolling into the finals, and then
that way, if there's any event like this that does happen,
play gets a concussion, they can have the twelve day window,
they can still play in the Grand Final and both
teams will have their best chance possible at putting together
their best side and it will make the day even

(06:45):
great because now what we're going.

Speaker 3 (06:46):
To see what Jed bues or Ree Stanley win another premissure.

Speaker 5 (06:51):
This can't happen.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
Tom Stewett is so much better. But it's a game.
People are going to get into that Every sport has this,
So if you just do another week, there's probably going
to be some one get injured at training. There's the
momentum of the player name.

Speaker 7 (07:03):
The last time someone got injured, the training name, the
last time, every every training, every training, Brad Maynard took
out Jordan de Gully, so you never know what could happen.
But that's got more to do with Braidon Maynard than
it does the training.

Speaker 2 (07:18):
You think it stops the momentum of the team, the players.
I don't think we would want it. I generally think
if you're winning.

Speaker 5 (07:23):
Every week player when I went down, if you're winning,
if you're wanting.

Speaker 2 (07:27):
A prelim, you're playing your best footy. I reckon you
want to roll straight into the Grand Finn.

Speaker 6 (07:30):
Why don't you ask Tom Stewart that well, obviously, to
be fair, Jordan only played twice in the month perform Yeah,
and like is that good?

Speaker 5 (07:40):
Is that like you're getting the best out of Obviously
they played, they've played very well. But in the different
circumstances are you're getting the best out of a team
when they have play week off, play week off, play
week off? I don't think you do think.

Speaker 3 (07:50):
Well, they just did on Friday night.

Speaker 5 (07:53):
That's what I'm saying. But like if it wasn't the case,
like will you always see the best out of the team.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
I know what he trying to say.

Speaker 6 (08:00):
You know what, just like just like Marville Jaw, you
can enjoy three weeks off?

Speaker 2 (08:09):
Little seriousness?

Speaker 5 (08:10):
Was that didn't deserve three weeks? No, Paul Curtis tackle,
I know, and if worse than if Hawthorne won that
game and made the Grand Final, would shold have got
three weeks?

Speaker 4 (08:22):
No, it would have gotten off, but he would have
gone off if we met the would have got nothing
almost if he got off for that, that is an
absolute joke of like from no noticing.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
I don't mind it, but in terms of the whole season,
you can't get off for that tackle. This should be
zero weeks in general.

Speaker 8 (08:38):
Yeah, I agree, but Curtis should have been zero, Charles
should have been zero.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
What are we doing here?

Speaker 1 (08:42):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (08:42):
I agree, it's disgusting.

Speaker 4 (08:44):
You're disgusting the AFL at going she was doing a
live shooper. You guys wanted to say the AFL is
a joke, and then he realized where he was.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
I respected him holding back. We would have done the
same thing.

Speaker 3 (08:58):
We would have had the awareness on on camera.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
I do that.

Speaker 5 (09:01):
So Dan Gorne was also out of his seat, but
he was out of his seat for one man in particular,
and that was a dangerfield wound back the clock. Thirty
one disposals, three goals, twenty one of those disposals were contested,
eight clearances, and he also had an injury scare at
the start of the game and he came off twice
as well when he kept the knee in the back

(09:22):
from Jess. He was off for about five minutes. But
he was just loving it. It was just the kid
at the playground. He was superb. It was actually the
fourth highest rated finals match in the last decade.

Speaker 2 (09:35):
Year old man a thirty.

Speaker 3 (09:36):
Five year old doesn't surprise me.

Speaker 5 (09:37):
I don't want to be dead when I'm thirty five.
I don't want to live. It was also the best
AFL player rating game in the finals match in the
last three final series as well.

Speaker 3 (09:51):
So danger Yeah.

Speaker 4 (09:52):
Look, you know how people have like trigger words and
you're like, yeah, back.

Speaker 5 (09:59):
So like when you're getting when I get a little
bit too close to you in the office and you're
like yeah, yeah, sure.

Speaker 3 (10:07):
He just completely made me lose my train of thoughts.

Speaker 4 (10:09):
But now hearing that, hearing danger, that's just going to
trigger every Hawks fan and some unpleasant flashbacks because he
was insane.

Speaker 2 (10:17):
It's his ability to.

Speaker 4 (10:19):
Know where to find the football, know how to break
out of tackles, and in his last goal, like it
was a great snap obviously, but he sees that man
is going to win the balls, man is going to
win fifty fifty.

Speaker 2 (10:31):
So he just pulls out of the.

Speaker 3 (10:32):
Contest goes he's going to win it. I'm going to
get on the receiving end of this and kick the goal.

Speaker 2 (10:36):
He's absolutely, He's absolutely.

Speaker 5 (10:37):
He's a beast on the deck. He's so clean. He
can kick a ball sixty meters off a step. He
can lie as high as Flying Ryan.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
And he just hasn't he has it all.

Speaker 5 (10:48):
He really does well on that.

Speaker 2 (10:49):
He did have that injury skat at the start. He
often gets half injured in Eastern Mondays against Hawks, and
he kicked the bag and then he.

Speaker 1 (10:56):
Does this, so I don't think he gets injured all.

Speaker 5 (11:00):
I come to back and in the area of the
game where they did dominate in that midfield. Normally he's
stuck in the forward half of the ground. It just
shows like whenever you can call upon him, he's so
reliable and he does what he does, and he obviously
helped in that midfield the start of the game. But
you mentioned Leo last week that the reason that your
beloved Hawks you had to give you a reason why

(11:21):
they could win the flag and why they couldn't win
the flag, and the reason you said they couldn't was
because the lack of depth in midfield for the final series,
in particular obviously because will Day's not being fit, and
that was the reason again in this game, and hence
the strong links to Zach Merritt and the importance of
keeping will Day fit. But the b Gray midfielders, particularly
in the second half, just really didn't stand up, especially

(11:41):
when Newcomb's copying attention. He's always been to cop attention.
Is that the way he's been playing was he was
four finals, four Bogs, only twenty touches. He finished with twenty.
Rple had sixteen for the game. Josh Ward only had
eight for the game when he had thirty one or
thirty three the week prior, and he was very influential,
and you mentioned he was pretty poor in that second

(12:02):
half as well. Josh, what he didn't didn't have a touch.

Speaker 3 (12:05):
That possible, Well, it's possible he just didn't get his hands.

Speaker 2 (12:07):
Also, Warple didn't have a good audition for his new
team either.

Speaker 3 (12:10):
I think he was wearing the hoops already.

Speaker 5 (12:12):
Possible.

Speaker 2 (12:13):
What did Geelong really want him?

Speaker 3 (12:14):
Yeah, I don't need it.

Speaker 4 (12:15):
When he got when Myers ran him down and all
the Cats fans are there cheering, I'm like, you're getting him.

Speaker 1 (12:26):
Well, they're not going to cheer.

Speaker 5 (12:28):
Cheer, that is what But yeah, it's still is the
experienced midfielder like a merit, like like a Butters who've
been linked to obviously previously as well? Is that just
the one reason you're away from winning a flag? That
Hawthorne side was Sam Mitchell.

Speaker 4 (12:45):
God, I'm just the father of ball knowledge because I
just I said last week.

Speaker 2 (12:52):
About the midfield I called the.

Speaker 4 (12:54):
Death and yeah, look, I think it has to be
Zach Marrit. As a fan, I'm all in on him.

Speaker 5 (13:00):
I just seek here does if you go to the hooks.

Speaker 3 (13:02):
If him and and Will Dave stays fit.

Speaker 4 (13:04):
I this is an early twenty twenty six preview, but
I would have horf on his face.

Speaker 8 (13:11):
That's a very early twenty six track back on track
the Father of.

Speaker 2 (13:21):
Born just surn to the father of rabbles.

Speaker 5 (13:26):
Everyone be cool.

Speaker 2 (13:26):
What's here?

Speaker 5 (13:27):
The oracle?

Speaker 7 (13:28):
What?

Speaker 5 (13:29):
Let's listen to the oracle? Cyan, What have you got
to say? Gracious with your knowledge about what anything?

Speaker 4 (13:35):
If you really want to die at thirty five, you
need to speak to your mates more because we love you.

Speaker 2 (13:42):
That is true.

Speaker 6 (13:43):
I love it as well, oracle and we can news
after the show, different podcast track were talking about that midfield.

Speaker 5 (13:49):
Obviously they John dominated the midfield in terms of clearances,
was fifty to thirty three, including a whopping twenty to
five send a clear differential, So they just got absolutely
bullied in there. And the Cats that were led by
brownlow contender as Linker Bailey Smith who was super thirty
six and put the icing on the cake with a
nice goal to finish the game. And he's sure let

(14:11):
the crowd know about wasn't he? He was? In all fairness?
But was there someone else that caught your eye who
particularly floated throughout the middle of parts of the game.

Speaker 4 (14:20):
Lab Well, I sound like stats guy here, so let
me let me do it. My best impression. Oh jeez,
gn Mies was good.

Speaker 5 (14:27):
You know what?

Speaker 2 (14:28):
That was actually pretty good fourteen scoring moments. He put
some respect on. He's a crucial cog to.

Speaker 3 (14:35):
That giant giants along forward line.

Speaker 2 (14:38):
Is there.

Speaker 3 (14:40):
I actually think Dempsey is more of a messy type anyway.

Speaker 4 (14:43):
Nah, They're just they're so clinical and potent going forward,
like they're well drilled. They know what they're doing. I
feel like Chris Scott has like the entire game mapped
out for them. He's like, all right, I know where
you need to be standing in the third quarter, in
the eighth minute mark, and like you're you're going.

Speaker 3 (14:56):
To be here. He's just a popper master.

Speaker 2 (14:58):
He knows what giving him too much.

Speaker 4 (15:00):
If he was over the ground with his like as
a puppet master with strings moving the players around, saying
yo're there and.

Speaker 2 (15:08):
He's all over. I actually don't mind. I think he's
not giving you credit. I don't mind that one.

Speaker 5 (15:15):
Avenue they got Oh yeah, Brad close kicker, go oh yeah,
you got Jes you got shown a Neil, Oh you
got Stingle.

Speaker 3 (15:21):
That's true. Dempse, you didn't kick, you got more.

Speaker 5 (15:24):
But Tom stew will pop up with a he's and
casts and sd sd K kicked one as well. Didn't you.

Speaker 2 (15:33):
Thinking of the other long head.

Speaker 5 (15:34):
Yeah, okay, yeah, I'll tell you what I am really
happy for. I'm happy for Max Holmes because he's had
his troubles and his warriors with Grand Final, he's had
that Grand phon oc curse. So touch wood. He survives training,
not just gets through some it's not says every training
session someone gets.

Speaker 2 (15:53):
Touch where we love Max Max. So hopefully he gets
into the Granny next week. That'd be absolutely awesome. The Cats,
they just absolutely spoke to him and Paul Leo is
actually a bit right question off the cuff here we go,
is Chris Scott the best coach to ever coach?

Speaker 3 (16:07):
Is the father of born knowledge? I would know?

Speaker 2 (16:09):
Well, they answer the question I just did, Oh my father.
I don't know because he hasn't won as many Grannies
as the other What was the question.

Speaker 5 (16:17):
Is he the best coach to ever coach in the NFL? Ah,
he's made ten out of fifteen pro lig he hasn't
want as.

Speaker 4 (16:24):
Many Granny two flags in the top I think if
lethal Yeah, Clark Coast losing his legacy at the moment.

Speaker 5 (16:31):
We talk, we'll talk about we'll talk about someone who
might eclipse leth with Matthews and the yes.

Speaker 2 (16:35):
So we can't talk about that one, absolutely, Craig, No,
they your coach mate. Lads, do you know what the
asex means?

Speaker 3 (16:42):
Mate? Of course? And in fact I'll let Marcus explain.

Speaker 5 (16:46):
Throw me under the BUSTLEO, be honest, I have no clue.

Speaker 1 (16:49):
What a surprise. It's actually the Australian Securities Exchange.

Speaker 4 (16:52):
Well, I'll speak for Marcus on that one and say
I'm pretty clueless with that stuff.

Speaker 1 (16:56):
Well, lucky for you.

Speaker 2 (16:57):
Stockhead is a free website which gives you punting doc
advice through the AX. Where can we check them out?
Check them out vice Dockheed dot com dot you. Saturday
night at the MCG we're gonna go to the other
prelium final, Collingwood Brisbane the twenty twenty three Grand Final
rebake Collingwood eleven goals five to seventy one. Brisbane smoke
them at fifteen goals ten or one one hundred. This
game went through its momentums, wings out.

Speaker 4 (17:18):
This game had absolutely everything did. First quarter Brisbane really
brought the pressure, They brought the heat and they were
finding their uncontested marks. They were I think they had
like nearly forty at one stage, and early on in
that first quarter, Pendals was out early with calf tightness
before it felt.

Speaker 3 (17:34):
Like that before the ball was even bounced. The ball
got thrown up and it was like, oh, Pendals hes
already off the grounds.

Speaker 5 (17:38):
Oh yeah, he was talking to the doctor before the game.
There was footage of it. And if you were like
gonna be that, I mean and a ring and going
to be off within the first two minutes of the game,
you'd kind of be like, you know, did they even
do the right thing by letting him run out that
you would have still had a sub for the rest
of the game if you made.

Speaker 2 (17:55):
I think guy cursed Tom Stewart and Scott Pendry putting
my hand up now, both of my maltis both got
avoided in the in the first quarter, so maybe I
cursed him.

Speaker 3 (18:02):
Well, I'm your idiot, people like.

Speaker 5 (18:05):
You that ruined the game of football exactly.

Speaker 3 (18:07):
You probably stop betting.

Speaker 4 (18:11):
Second quarter pies are able to force the dumb kick
for Brisbane and they really took away the uncontested mark.
I thought Colin Wood really got into gears six goals
to zero in that quarter, and maybe the better.

Speaker 3 (18:22):
Side by a couple of guys and.

Speaker 4 (18:25):
A bit of injury canning for Brisbane. You had very
subbed out with the shoulder which looked really nasty. You Dunky,
Gallop and Loman or either go down to the rooms or.

Speaker 3 (18:32):
Get checked at some different stage.

Speaker 4 (18:34):
And you're going Jesus like, if one of these other
players goes out, they're down to one less rotation and
it could be calling them by how much.

Speaker 5 (18:42):
I love it. That's prob injuries.

Speaker 6 (18:45):
Love peoples.

Speaker 3 (18:51):
Going hard.

Speaker 5 (18:51):
You know, you know all the hard men, so you like,
that's true players, That's what Jack Barney, come, come the bombers,
George Wilmore, come the bombs and all.

Speaker 4 (19:00):
So the third quarter Brisbane, Brisbane really turned it around.
It was that first minute and it was all from
the middle as well. They kicked six goals from stoppage, yes,
and the two goals in the first minute were crucial
work them back into the game and seven goals to
two for the quarter.

Speaker 3 (19:15):
It was a really really emphatic response, Marcus, I want
to I want to throw to you here.

Speaker 4 (19:20):
There were two pretty special moments in that third quarter,
just wive in the game up one.

Speaker 5 (19:25):
Of the one of the best moments in finals history.
I believe this is this Jamie elliotts mark in the.

Speaker 2 (19:29):
Goal finals history.

Speaker 5 (19:31):
I think it's it's one of the I'll give you,
I'll give you that. I'll go greatest marks Inconnell's history.
That that was fantastic in the goal. See he don't
let Bobby Hill, just Bobby Hill, Jamie Jamie Elliott foot
like that. I was I was trying to say Billy
Billy Elliott, but we'll get that in there. But he

(19:52):
was awesome for the Pies as well. We finished with
four but two majors in that term as well that
you were talking about. So he's going to lead the
whole light reel and he'll look pretty special on that game.
But there was also another one from the Brisbane perspective
and it was actually in the same quarter when it
was Will Ashcroft just brooded one from the thirty five
meters out in a stoppage clearance.

Speaker 2 (20:09):
Off the ground.

Speaker 5 (20:10):
That was crazy mid air through the big sticks, ten
rows back. Yeah, beautiful, very non ver very there was
our listeners out there. It was great all games well.
I think he finished with two goals, yes, two guys
in that quarter and the best hair on the ground,
Prince Charming he does fit the lines, doesn't he Because
he's got that.

Speaker 3 (20:28):
The main a very big darcy fourth hair. Albert your point,
what he's a genius one genius of rock all right.

Speaker 4 (20:41):
And then the last quarter was a bit of a
stale mate to start the last Pies broke that stale mate.

Speaker 3 (20:46):
That was Cox's soccer background. It came in class.

Speaker 2 (20:49):
Yeah, with the sneaky little toe poke.

Speaker 4 (20:52):
Look, I think I think the right decision was made
the arc and I think the right decision was made.

Speaker 3 (20:57):
It was a bit of a bit of deliberation, but
I think we got that. But then it we came down.

Speaker 4 (21:04):
This is why we love prelims, prelim final footy, We
love finals footy. Every decision was so important, from the players,
to the umpires to the crowd.

Speaker 2 (21:14):
Now absolutely bocus.

Speaker 4 (21:15):
The passage of play. I really want to highlight that
Brisbane won and it was probably the most important player
that they could have won. The piers are out, they
were streaming forward memory marks at about thirty five out.

Speaker 3 (21:27):
Alliott's free over.

Speaker 5 (21:28):
The top little chip kick wasn't the greatest kicks.

Speaker 3 (21:30):
It wasn't the greatest the keys.

Speaker 4 (21:31):
He could have kicked it flat up and Starsavich, nothing
but eyes locked on the footy, just running back, laser focused,
spoils the ball. All the Pies fans, you're going to
maybe just skip thirty seconds. They wanted the free, yes,
but if you look back, he got all ball. He
didn't take his eyes off the football. And I think
in a week where look, we don't want to be

(21:51):
too critical of umpiring, but it was the best time.

Speaker 3 (21:53):
It was tough. I think they nailed that.

Speaker 2 (21:55):
I think it was so one thing I'll give the
Pies fans to which we were very vocal. Obviously it
looked bad because it was such a like when you
don't always face the right way, it just looks bad.

Speaker 3 (22:05):
The player goes to ground, so I will like, if
I was a Pies.

Speaker 2 (22:08):
Fan, I would have probably been screened my head off
and then seeing the red player.

Speaker 4 (22:10):
Yes, yes, I think the umpire to hold it to
have a bit of composure to nail that moment was
superb from the umpire. And then it was what happened next.
That's guy that you love. You walked in here and
you said, give me a minute to talk about this.

Speaker 2 (22:25):
But it was Morris's kick that was absolutely surprised, sublime,
absolutely awesome. Hit Chucky on the chest. It was a
really good counter attack from Brisbane. He's a unicorn, Logan Morris,
he's so tall, he's a big man. How's he kicking
forty meters? Dark kicks on the counter attack on the.

Speaker 5 (22:38):
Fly, it was even longer.

Speaker 1 (22:40):
It was unbelievable. You could see it was right in
front of me, right front.

Speaker 3 (22:46):
Ipek.

Speaker 2 (22:47):
I can't speak. I couldn't speak.

Speaker 1 (22:48):
It was absolutely awesome and just the precision from a
big man to do that.

Speaker 2 (22:52):
You can play him on the wing if you want.
He's that good. Probably not, I'd want to put him down.

Speaker 5 (22:56):
That was the only spot on the ground we could
kick up yea and get away with Chucky.

Speaker 2 (23:00):
Camera did not have to even break stride. So that
was my I know, Jamie to an awesome mark, but
for the winners, that was my player of the game.

Speaker 4 (23:06):
By the way, we have three unicorns. We have Logan Morris,
San Darcy and Luke Jackson, so maybe we need.

Speaker 3 (23:12):
Final Yeah, you've got me there.

Speaker 2 (23:15):
Well the other two I don't even We haven'talked about
him in a few.

Speaker 4 (23:17):
Weeks, but we need to figure out maybe new nicknames
because I feel like a unicorn should only be one player,
it's a bloody.

Speaker 1 (23:23):
It's probably Sandarsy.

Speaker 3 (23:25):
Then I would actually give it to Luke Jackson.

Speaker 5 (23:26):
Actually does a unicorn just live for revolt? Like they
do die, don't they? But then if there's only one,
then how do they? How do they pass? How do
they pass the hallway?

Speaker 2 (23:35):
What Scotland's national animal boys?

Speaker 3 (23:38):
The Unicorn, the Lots, the lion. Yes, speaking of the big.

Speaker 4 (23:47):
There, big moment, Slate boys, they thought about the big moment,
Sla Let's do it from Ty Gallup, huge clunky mark
towering over everybody, Slots the Goland and lineman who brought
out the push ups didn't want to do some push ups.

Speaker 3 (24:01):
Now I won't be called a camera but.

Speaker 2 (24:04):
It was actually Kevin guyed Esk. I know you guys
don't watch. He was famous in the NBA for doing
the push ups after a nice little basket.

Speaker 5 (24:10):
So why don't we do an actual AFO reference to
push up?

Speaker 1 (24:13):
King Oh Jacobs push up and.

Speaker 3 (24:17):
I love that he did that though in front of
the Pies fans.

Speaker 4 (24:20):
Great and then it had to be Zorco with the
finisher after being boot all game.

Speaker 3 (24:25):
It was similar to Baz on Friday Night.

Speaker 7 (24:28):
It was.

Speaker 5 (24:28):
It was just meant a bit of polish.

Speaker 3 (24:30):
It was just meant it was a good goal to.

Speaker 4 (24:31):
The guy that was being hated on all games. Him
and Boode, the Bronx cheers all that they had to
kick the winner.

Speaker 2 (24:38):
Him and Maso we were going as well. It was
so funny when they're getting so small and Mason Cox's
like seven foot.

Speaker 5 (24:43):
And he went straight for the oars and he went
straight for those.

Speaker 4 (24:46):
We shout a joke about that because one poking the
eye Mason Cox could get blind and all.

Speaker 1 (24:50):
He was blind for a week.

Speaker 2 (24:52):
That's why he wears the god.

Speaker 3 (24:53):
He had to sit in his bed and it was
something like.

Speaker 5 (24:55):
Yeah, he was if someone does that to me. Watson
in a swimming pool and throwing hands were pulling the
cocks off, the pull the goggles off. I'm in the
water and I can't touch the bottom.

Speaker 4 (25:03):
That's what They wouldn't take your goggles off, matey.

Speaker 3 (25:06):
They take something off because no, because you're you look
like a whale in there.

Speaker 1 (25:14):
Fat No more a ton jokes on this show, Thank
you very much.

Speaker 3 (25:21):
I was doing such a good show and then I just.

Speaker 2 (25:26):
Next next now.

Speaker 3 (25:27):
Please just some player shout outs humor pluggage was best.

Speaker 5 (25:31):
Did you do in huge mcluggage because he's big as well.

Speaker 3 (25:34):
No, he's not as big as you. That's sound great.

Speaker 5 (25:41):
Kidding, all right.

Speaker 3 (25:46):
Thirty seven disposals, ten clearances and the goal. He was everywhere.

Speaker 4 (25:50):
Harris Andrews down back eighteen disposed, thirteen marks, nineteen possessions
was he was so good down back. Ouscroft and Bailey
both with twenty two were really really impressive. And Darcy
Wilmot so he's got twenty five disposals, seven inside fifties
and nine in possession.

Speaker 2 (26:07):
He was my favorite player. Like I don't know if
he was best on ground, but just to watch he's
so silky, so fast, grow out the beard, so maybe
gave him some extra powers there, like thriller like yourself exactly, And.

Speaker 3 (26:19):
I think you put this in stats guys. The quickest
player to play in thirteen thirteen finals.

Speaker 2 (26:23):
Yeah, which is pretty crazy because bad he just wins
for fun talent The Cads Simpson we played what three
seventy and didn't have one fine yeah old yeah exactly, Goldies,
I think the most ever most current played not to
win a Grand final, to win a grand final, which
I feel for Goldie. Yeah, for Goldie.

Speaker 5 (26:41):
Chris Fagan actually broke a little finals record as well.

Speaker 2 (26:43):
Yes, he actually passed Lee Matthews for the most finals
wins as a coach at Brisbane, which is bonkers because
goes you go. When you think of Brisbane coaching, you
go Lee Matthews to go so lethal. So that's pretty
crazy that Chris Fagan's passing there.

Speaker 3 (26:57):
Yeah, on your fags, yes, and look for the pies.

Speaker 4 (27:00):
Heck and Josh I thought tried hard, but it was
Ali at the main standout with four goals.

Speaker 3 (27:03):
He did what Jamie Elliet does. It was absolutely what
a game though, What a game.

Speaker 2 (27:08):
This game had everything. It was momentum, swings, injuries, hard
contest push ups which we were a bit surprised about.

Speaker 9 (27:13):
Mark of the year. Can we give him Mark of
the year. I said that last week you need to
give market the year to the best mark of the year,
not just the regular season, but anyway Goal of the year.
We put Gold of the Year in their big moments.
How good is pre Limb footy? All right, we've gone
through the two games. That was absolutely chaotic, but we
absolutely love it. The finals bracket check, let's get into that.
Hawks run comes to an end after a crazy.

Speaker 2 (27:34):
Run of wins. I put that in there just because
there were the Giants Slayers until the weekend, Leo. So
you should be proud of your young Hawks team, I
think because they got a really good futurehead even if
they don't get Zach Merritt.

Speaker 3 (27:44):
No, no, you've still got a good future head. No
we need we need bids. Yeah, but you could get
Jis Sycom, we could, you know, hate it.

Speaker 5 (27:52):
Basically your last eight weeks of the year, you played
every other team inside the eight pretty much pretty much,
which is crazy. Sleep Yeah, and they won all those
really yeah.

Speaker 3 (28:03):
I mean I'm proud, I'm sad, I'm hungry.

Speaker 2 (28:10):
It's not.

Speaker 1 (28:12):
Collingwood season obviously comes to an end as well.

Speaker 2 (28:14):
The Cats.

Speaker 1 (28:14):
They're back into the Grand Final obviously.

Speaker 2 (28:16):
Chris Scott trying to go for his third and the
Lions in three successive Grand finals. That's buddy awesome by them,
so absolutely awesome.

Speaker 1 (28:23):
The finals bracket check all right, tipping results pretty easy
one there.

Speaker 2 (28:27):
You chucked up the graphic one a piece, all gotlong,
we all got Geelong and I thought that was that
was the safer one. Then the against the Hawks, so
there we go. That was pretty interesting there. Let us
know in the comments, because a lot of people in
the comments on especially on Facebook, we're getting into us,
not just diff in the favorites, but we thought they
were gonna win.

Speaker 5 (28:46):
I mean the Lions showcase, what they were raining premiers.

Speaker 4 (28:49):
And halftime we were looking right, that's true, yeah, but
not in the end the end lock results.

Speaker 1 (28:55):
We went three from three.

Speaker 3 (28:56):
Leo, yourme, seny plas ye beautiful, you.

Speaker 5 (28:59):
Can get tag. He finished with twenty. He started the
game particularly well. He did as a game progressed, he
got more and more quiet. Yeah, and Leo was worried
about this one. But Jazz are two plus he got.

Speaker 4 (29:09):
Three, So I wasn't worried about I just like I
get courses of like goals goal scorers in big finals.

Speaker 3 (29:14):
Yeah, I mean like you just never know.

Speaker 4 (29:16):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (29:16):
Fair enough big coal results. There is one man that
was very close. I was not Josh Decos twenty five
plus and two goals. He had twenty six. He had
a shot that didn't make the distance, and he got
the disposals, but nowhere near the goals. And that's what Yeah,
you guys called me out.

Speaker 3 (29:30):
On that one.

Speaker 2 (29:31):
So fair play.

Speaker 5 (29:31):
And I'll sneaking here. I probably had the world either worst.
Oh yeah, also paused by a big margin and it
was like I was the margin thirty five plus not winning. Boy,
well you did lines thirty five plus right? Oh yeah,
absolutely they didn't win by thirty five plus. Yeah they
U still won by this money.

Speaker 2 (29:48):
Yeah, and Leo was very close.

Speaker 4 (29:51):
Kays Akins thirteen plus tackles, he had eleven, and he
was the man that actually did go to to Newcomb
and did a great job.

Speaker 3 (29:58):
He was tackling him all night.

Speaker 4 (30:00):
And I've got to go himself as well, got a
goal himself along really now the matchups and I just
thought because of that Atkins could have just snuck in
for a couple more.

Speaker 5 (30:09):
To see feature in your Best on Ground of the
week tom Akins.

Speaker 3 (30:11):
Oh now we go right now.

Speaker 1 (30:13):
Best on Ground of the week with Leo with.

Speaker 3 (30:16):
Leo one vote.

Speaker 4 (30:20):
H mcclugg Best on ground for Brisbane I thought was
absolutely everywhere and kicking a goal with thirty five plus touches,
thank you very much.

Speaker 5 (30:30):
Think it finished with thirty six and said, oh sorry,
I didn't hear it, guys. I just am excited for
the three votes, so I get into your two two votes.
B Smith have gone with Bailey Smith really, yes, so
it was very good.

Speaker 4 (30:45):
The reason I've given him more votes than human Cluggage
is that I thought Bailey Smith was pushing through not
a tag, but Nash was trying to go with him,
and I was just watching Bailey Smith run around. God
blessed Nash for trying. He just could not run with
him at all around stoppage. He was there thereabouts, but
the sequiner got out. Bailey Smith was there.

Speaker 3 (31:05):
He was getting the one too. He was kicking him forward,
using his pace, using.

Speaker 5 (31:08):
His speed, his deceivingly like really quick. Oh yeah as well.

Speaker 4 (31:12):
And I felt like McCluggage didn't really have to go
through a negating goal, whereas excuse me, Bailey Smith had
to work through that.

Speaker 3 (31:19):
Yeah, so he gets the two votes. I think it's
obvious it is danger.

Speaker 2 (31:27):
If you will, yes, yes, yes, he was just a
man possessed the fact that he's doing that at thirty
five years old, absolutely insane. I think he had the
I thought he had like the three goals left in
him because he plays forward and just like very good
forward craft. I didn't think he had the thirty two
and three goals.

Speaker 3 (31:46):
I didn't think he had like the contested possess.

Speaker 7 (31:49):
It was.

Speaker 4 (31:49):
It was like prime Danger breaking tackles. Like I was
there as a Hawks fan and I'm like, I reckon.
There was like ten times we had him go on
cold and it's not he's got the handble out and
yeah there, like he does he keep doing that?

Speaker 2 (32:02):
We want to reference Sam Mitchell in the press conference
as well, Waiting for Danger. That was act.

Speaker 3 (32:06):
That was a lead from from Mitchell saying waiting for
Danger to retire, and.

Speaker 2 (32:09):
He's like, I wish he just retired already.

Speaker 4 (32:11):
And then Chris Scott, like what is it like, gave
it back saying I was waiting for Sam Mitchell to return.

Speaker 7 (32:17):
It was good.

Speaker 5 (32:17):
Yeah, I didn't see Mitchell also, so he wanted every
other team to lose. Well, stupid.

Speaker 2 (32:23):
Say that, but they were asking questions like, oh, who's
your tip for the Grand Final after they just lost
a Prilium. He doesn't give one grap who wins the lesson?

Speaker 3 (32:30):
That's a horrible We handled it well.

Speaker 1 (32:32):
He ended it while they were just trying to get
a bite out of him.

Speaker 2 (32:34):
So fair play to Mitch. I don't know why I
call him. That's what I.

Speaker 3 (32:39):
Told you, guy, yeah, yeah, Nick.

Speaker 2 (32:43):
Nik yea something like that for credit best team of
the round. Let's not on the comments actually as well
about Leo's best on granded league, but the best team
of the round. They always let us know in the
comments about this one.

Speaker 5 (32:51):
Marcus just go on the one team, this one picking
the best team out of the two Prilim finals. Okay,
tough to be honest, it's just one winner that comes
straight to my mind. I don't know if it's Recncy,
but the Brisbane line.

Speaker 2 (33:02):
He always goes Brisbane.

Speaker 5 (33:03):
Have you the best?

Speaker 2 (33:05):
He always goes Brisbane.

Speaker 5 (33:08):
Were they not the best time?

Speaker 6 (33:09):
I think?

Speaker 2 (33:11):
I think Collingwood were really sloppy and didn't play anywhere
near their best. Hawks put up a good.

Speaker 1 (33:17):
Fight and and John had Tom Stewart, how you've had
a mayor.

Speaker 3 (33:19):
I think Geelong's win was a bit more impressive, to
be fair.

Speaker 5 (33:22):
Some people in the let us know all that team
and he always goes to Bristol, by the way, because
it was Brisbane. They've been putting up with do you
have Verry go down there?

Speaker 7 (33:31):
You like?

Speaker 5 (33:32):
Numerous players go down early and obviously near no near
long no hip would Yes, that's what I'm saying and
away from her interstate. Basically, John, Yeah, for me to
stay in front of probably seventy thousand Collingwood fans and
compeared to thirty thousand, He's got a good point there.

Speaker 2 (33:51):
The crowd was very vocal and they had to science
at half time.

Speaker 5 (33:54):
You're like, yeah, You're like, they're just going he just
doesn't he won't take my answer.

Speaker 1 (34:02):
Like I said, let us know in the comments.

Speaker 2 (34:03):
Who's right along? Okay, I think I would take you
long as well. Before we wrap up the show here,
because that's most of the segments. Stime, we're going to
do that brownload Predictions's got the Brownlow on Monday night.
So check out our brown the predictions right now.

Speaker 1 (34:14):
The brown though is tomorrow, ight, lads, Let's get into
the predictions.

Speaker 2 (34:22):
Shout out to fever that brown though there. I don't
mind that is Adam Cooney're gonna win? Another one is
Matt Pritis. No, we don't think that's gonna happen.

Speaker 3 (34:29):
Mitchell.

Speaker 5 (34:29):
What is going to happen?

Speaker 2 (34:30):
What is gonna happen? Well, we will touch on this
with our predictions here we go, all right, our best
pick who is gonna win the Brown though? That's what
everyone wants to know. Is it obvious?

Speaker 5 (34:38):
Lads?

Speaker 4 (34:38):
It's I think I think I think by maybe three
or four votes. Just it's so hard to look past him.
Not many players will take votes off him. Is the
standout player, superstar?

Speaker 2 (34:49):
Gotta be him.

Speaker 5 (34:50):
Look, I'm leaning towards Nacos as well. Yep, but I've
got one of those.

Speaker 3 (34:54):
Feelings again, another Marcus Tingle.

Speaker 5 (34:57):
I've got to Marcus Tingle. No, do we multiple winners,
you know?

Speaker 1 (35:02):
Last two every.

Speaker 2 (35:05):
No? I don't think so this year. I think I
think the umpires do love a bit of Nick Dakos.
He's got a lot of votes.

Speaker 5 (35:11):
He's going to be a clear winner.

Speaker 2 (35:12):
Unfortunately, I think we're all going the same Nick days.
I think at least by five plus votes. What what?

Speaker 3 (35:18):
What was your Tingle?

Speaker 2 (35:19):
Though?

Speaker 5 (35:21):
Shared winners?

Speaker 3 (35:22):
Who's the other winner?

Speaker 2 (35:23):
Then?

Speaker 5 (35:24):
I think it could be Bailey Smith really but he
missed up.

Speaker 2 (35:27):
He missed what three or four games or.

Speaker 5 (35:31):
Yeah, I don't think Dawson will poll as well as
people think he should.

Speaker 2 (35:37):
Performances.

Speaker 5 (35:38):
But I just don't think Dawson wal poll as well
as although they did win the games, they just win
the games. The polls.

Speaker 2 (35:43):
How many do you think you win by there?

Speaker 3 (35:45):
I said, three or four?

Speaker 2 (35:47):
Three or four?

Speaker 3 (35:47):
That hasn't changed in the last minute.

Speaker 2 (35:51):
Your next best, next bet?

Speaker 5 (35:52):
He gets close to He said, you don't think Dawson
and Poll.

Speaker 3 (35:55):
I think he will.

Speaker 4 (35:56):
I think that Adelaide team, like Rankin, might take a
few off him, But like I don't think many others
in there think.

Speaker 5 (36:03):
I think I'm just banking on maybe like Thriller in
the game the Kick six too, but I'm not sure.
Never really lean that way. I'm just thinking with how
I all the votes and I.

Speaker 3 (36:14):
Look at Geelong.

Speaker 4 (36:15):
You've got Bailey Smith who fantastic season, but you also
got Homes, so they're going to share a bit of
the votes. There, Gold Coast, you've got Anderson standout season,
but you also got Raw so they're going to share
a bit of the votes.

Speaker 3 (36:27):
With Adelaide, it's Dawson and you've got Rankin.

Speaker 4 (36:30):
But you can't tell me Rankin's putting out the same
numbers as what Row does for Suns and what Homes
does for Geelong.

Speaker 2 (36:36):
Very good point.

Speaker 3 (36:37):
I just feel like they might edge a little bit
more to Dawson superstarting.

Speaker 5 (36:42):
That's why Dawson's the face of the Crows.

Speaker 3 (36:45):
That's what I mean.

Speaker 2 (36:46):
That's why you might have convinced me. I originally had
next best with Batis Smith. I think I'm going to
lean towards Dawson. I was fifty to fifty. I think
Leo has convinced me there the other one. A lot
of people are saying Norah Anderson has a chance, but
your point exactly. The second half of the season, especially
Matt rowd is going to have a lot of three
vote games, and I think that's going to cost and
Anderson's a beast. He kicks goals. He's going to get

(37:07):
a lot of three boat games, but I don't think
he can win the Brown.

Speaker 5 (37:09):
My favorite player in the competition, and really this is.

Speaker 3 (37:13):
A sneaky one. This could go into the next segment
as well.

Speaker 2 (37:16):
Yeah, if you actually just throw away all right, so
we can have some smoky fun picks whatever you want
here for the Brownlow Rooney, Matt Prudis pick exactly, sam
Mitchell pick. He just wanted to talk about sam Mitchell.
He's gotten rid of the run.

Speaker 3 (37:31):
You go to Marcus first because I want to look
something up, all right, So what.

Speaker 1 (37:34):
A fun pick in the Brown though? And something you're
going to keep it on a Monday night.

Speaker 5 (37:37):
Well, we'll go like a little bit more exoticy, because
that's that's where you can just find some really good
value in the Brownlow. And I think someone who isn't
being talked about enough, or his season isn't being talked
about enough, because at the start everyone forgot about. The
start of his campaign obviously was linked to a big,
big money move, yes, away from the GBS giants, and

(37:58):
that's been Callahan. You know. I think he had the
best start to the campaign out of anyone in the competition.
He had a quiet little middle period, but he also
finished strong as well, So I think he could find
some good valley for him at a top ten finish
in the brown Low. And I think he polls twenty
plus votes and that could that's the top ten finish.

Speaker 3 (38:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (38:17):
Yeah, I've got a couple of fun ones. I think
Josh Day casts most votes for Collingwood without Nick.

Speaker 3 (38:24):
I don't mind that, yeah, gain specially that Sun's one
in that in that last quarter.

Speaker 2 (38:29):
That's a three voter.

Speaker 4 (38:29):
Yeah, well they lost it, so maybe not the two
voter yeah or one voter yeah, And Lean Baker most
votes of the Eagles, so I actually don't know.

Speaker 3 (38:36):
Harley Reid is the current favorite in that market, but
really I don't know.

Speaker 4 (38:40):
If I'm pires like Harley Reid faces a lot of footage, mister.

Speaker 2 (38:44):
Bit of football, lam Baker won their best and fairest
the best.

Speaker 4 (38:47):
I just feel like I just thinking back to last year,
umpires probably don't have the fondest memory of Harley Reid.

Speaker 3 (38:53):
No, and I think maybe they'd lean.

Speaker 4 (38:55):
Towards the premiership player, the leader of the West Coast
Eagles in if they get any votes at all, it
could be could be Leam Baker, but the one I
just thought of.

Speaker 3 (39:04):
Okay, excuse me, Matt Row most votes for the Gold Coast.

Speaker 5 (39:09):
Oh, I think it's really hard to pick between Reel
and Anderson.

Speaker 4 (39:13):
Towards Anderson, I get that he's probably it's probably fair enough,
but I'm just thinking it from a point of view.

Speaker 3 (39:20):
But the valiumpires always, I feel like, in recent time
go for that contested player more so than someone's a
little bit.

Speaker 4 (39:29):
Because they see the in and under. Like you look
at recent years like locking Neil getting votes for a
twenty disposal game, It's like, how do they do that?
It's because they maybe notice him a bit more on
the inside de coos getting thirty eight votes, but crips
an inside player getting forty five.

Speaker 3 (39:44):
I don't know. Maybe it's just one to just keep
a little bit of an eye on if they prefer.

Speaker 1 (39:47):
Row and we always love the pole of that is
my favorite part.

Speaker 5 (39:54):
Have you got a squad to the games? I do
have a sneaky one, and I'm gone with a possible.
Jack Martin we were talking about this before the show
when he came on. I know he came on as
a suburb. Actually come on with the sub and get
a vote, that'll be great. But he kicked four goals
in a matter of minutes as well, and that was
against Port Adelaide. Came the Sabia thirteen and four goals
and a half forty for the game. I know, but

(40:19):
I think he could sneak in with possibly one vote.

Speaker 4 (40:21):
Didn't just kick six? Didn't Holmes have thirty five and two?
Bailey Smith exactly, so he'll get one. Bailey Smith had thirty.

Speaker 5 (40:29):
I take, I take fifteen. I take fifteen and four
over thirty and nothing game for me. I agree with
Bailey Smith will get plenty of votes. He might even
be a shared winner.

Speaker 3 (40:41):
Who knows the apparently the tingle.

Speaker 5 (40:42):
But also I'm going to be creating my own market, boys,
and I just want to know if you want to
get on board with this. Okay, Merrit not to sit
at the Essendon table with Mason Redmond.

Speaker 4 (40:53):
Because Merritt's going to be at the Escident table and
Redmond wants to leave.

Speaker 3 (40:56):
What was that news yesterday?

Speaker 5 (40:57):
Oh no, that's just that's just them creating a story
that he's all he's all on board.

Speaker 3 (41:02):
Wow, trains a roundabout.

Speaker 1 (41:06):
Yeah, I've got I've got to poll a vote as well.

Speaker 2 (41:08):
This is my favorite one. I'm going to go too
because I was talked out of a bit of Sammy Draper.
I'm not one hundred percent sure about Ben Long is
an absolute lock to get a vote. He had multiple
four plus goal games, especially the first half of the season.
He was on fire, and I'm very surprised that you
can get a bit of value there. The other one,
this is the real smoky one, Angus Clark. If you've
you've cast your mind back to his debut. Three goals,

(41:30):
lots of contested marks, very deep in the forward line,
sixteen disposals, a w against the Richmond Tigers, is his
debut American A good sneaker vote there.

Speaker 5 (41:39):
What's like, what sort of roughy sort of pick we
get in here? Getting a brand new house with this one?

Speaker 2 (41:45):
Like, oh maybe no, depends how much you put on
how much you put on speed. Just a sneaky little
sit coming, just a sneaky little speed boat. Yeah, so
that will do us for the Browno segment. That will
do us for the AFL Today Show. If you enjoyed

cage you driving with some sharks after my moment be
got up. That is crazy yourself good fun.

Speaker 2 (42:25):
Really, that would be absolutely awesome. Thank you very much
to Gerald behind the camera.

Speaker 3 (42:28):
Thank you Leo, thank you, and I want to apologize.

occupation's coming. Welcome.

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
