Speaker 1 (00:13):
The season on Sunday.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
Wow, we check out the show right now. Welcome back
to the AFL Today Show. Your preview is here for
round ten. I'm your host, Leah McCallan, also known as
the Stats Guy. He's been excited, he's ready to go
for the show. He's fired up. He's actually smiling.
Speaker 1 (00:29):
Leah Mlalley in the corner. How you going good? I
just didn't want to smile there for a second. I'm
like a Jack Russell on a walk, just itching to go.
That is That is a beautiful little little thing there.
Speaker 2 (00:40):
And we've also got Marcus bar He is often confused
by what Leah Malalley says.
Speaker 1 (00:44):
How you going?
Speaker 3 (00:44):
I'm very confused by what Lea Molleley says, but I'm
gone very well. I'm excited for this equal footy. There's
some cracking games. Can it be better than last round?
Speaker 1 (00:54):
Lads? Because last round was the best round ever. Impossible, impossible.
I think it could.
Speaker 3 (00:58):
Be quality games Sunday Sunday's games. We said that last Sunday,
but I think there could be some crackers. Yeah, absolutely,
another awesome show.
Speaker 2 (01:07):
We're going to dive into all the matchups, tips, stats, debates,
got the locks and big calls.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
I believe we've got all of our locks, which is
very rare that we get.
Speaker 2 (01:14):
To host, so that we got the locks right, I know,
but we don't always get things right on the show.
We often do, but then we've got the big calls
as well. Marcus and I need to step up to
the play with the big calls. Leo's got a big
call before. So do we think this is the week

Speaker 2 (02:13):
Let's get into the previous, lads, the round ten previous
are here.
Speaker 1 (02:17):
Thursday night footy.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
Here we go Thursday night, gold Coast Verse Hawthorn TiO Stadium.
They're calling them the Darwin Sons, the Darwin Crocks, whatever
you want to call them, the Gold Coast Crocs. They
should be playing every game there and this is Marcus's game.
Speaker 3 (02:29):
Yeah, well, boys, have gold Coast turned a corner?
Speaker 1 (02:33):
Have they done? It?
Speaker 3 (02:33):
Was that victory against the Western Bulldogs.
Speaker 1 (02:35):
Do we believe in them? Now? Do we believe?
Speaker 3 (02:38):
Can they play finals for the first time in the
club's history.
Speaker 1 (02:42):
What sixteen years. I think they can make finals, but
I don't know if they've turned the corner, if that
makes sense. I think making finals is turning the corner.
Speaker 3 (02:49):
It was the result against the Dogs them turning across.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
I don't know. It's a weird one. I feel like
they did enough, but the Dogs sort of kept seen
the challenge and maybe if it was played in Gold
Coast they would have lost that.
Speaker 3 (03:05):
They do have a great record in Darlin, thank you
for bringing that up. They've won the last seven at
Too Stadium, So the Hawks will have a job to
do on their hands and they Let's be honest, like
as a Hawthorne supporter, you've said this, they haven't been
great since gather round.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
He's the most other cursed us. He's the most pessimistic
Hawks fan I've ever met.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
No, I'm not. I'm pretty semistic. You know, eight times
a charm right? Possibly?
Speaker 3 (03:35):
I mean, are you still optimistic with the news of
the Hawks possible out So you got about Lloyd Meek?
You want to talk about them?
Speaker 1 (03:43):
Possibly?
Speaker 3 (03:43):
Lloyd Meek and Jack Gunston could be.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
Imp He won't be playing because I think he's expecting
a child this week. Gratulations, congratulations Bruce captain knock he
won't play, expecting Barras to be back. I think Dear
Mackenzie's Grimshaw a leaning towards coming back in as well.
But we'll see with the teams coming out tonight for
those who don't know, filming on a Wednesday, So yeah,
(04:08):
a lot of changes going on. I think it's the
right move because it's five day break, which we'll talk
about a bit more. In these hot conditions, I think
it's the right call. I don't know if it will
change the outcome, but it can be done.
Speaker 3 (04:18):
Though Colin Colin would be done for the first time
this season, the first club to win for five day breaks.
It can be done.
Speaker 2 (04:24):
But I think colin Wood have more depth than just
power overall, Like Gunstan has been their best goal kick.
Who is still in the com I just want to
ask he's third in the common I want to ask you.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
Guys, who the hell is kicking Hawks goals this week?
Is Charles. I'm going to step up in the greasy conditions.
I don't know about that one.
Speaker 3 (04:39):
This is this is where I feel like it's going
to be a Guinea Legacy game. This is where he's
sort of got to He's got to kick, he's got
to hit the school board.
Speaker 1 (04:47):
I reckon ned Reeves. I'm obviously kidding. He'll come in.
I have a feeling wits will get managed as well.
For the Suns, that's just a gut feeling, and they'll
play oil. We're going to run my feeling day break
for them as well. Friend of the show it wait
yeah day break? Yeah good mates, yes, yeah, but if.
Speaker 3 (05:07):
You do play against I know you've got three wins
in your last three games again against the West Coast,
Richmond and Melbourne, but if you play like that, it
probably won't.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
Yeah. Pretty the Melbourne game wasn't overly impressive for the
first three quarters, but you still smash them. I think
I think you'd be a bit hard.
Speaker 3 (05:24):
I think paper over the cracks a lot of goals,
like it was like a thirty to one last quarter.
Speaker 2 (05:28):
I think they're just sort of lift for the bigger team.
It's like the Brisbane Lions, they lifting for the bigger teams.
It's early in the season. You get that with the
teams that are going to be successful. The Hawks were
pretty successful last year. I don't know if there's as
much to worry about it as some Hawks fans like
yourself and same man.
Speaker 3 (05:44):
We'll find out a lot about them over the next month.
But they got such like they got such a youthful
energy about them, like it's so good, this is this
is the type of game that they will just they
could go out and win.
Speaker 1 (05:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (05:53):
At the same time, I.
Speaker 1 (05:55):
Think maybe the pace of the game, it'll be a
bit faster, could play into the form movement. But at
the same time, Sons are just better at that at
in darl Well, Yeah, because of that on that is
Daniel really averages twenty disposals and a goal in Darweny's
playing the main driver of that moment. He's so good.
Speaker 2 (06:12):
And then you've talked up John Noble and then you've
got benk Benk King is one of the only players
that can go up to Darwin and take just really
good marks in the greasy condition to I think he
kicked he kied three goals three last week should have
been a bit straight up. But the fact that he
was holding onto marks and all the other players are
slipping around everywhere unbelievable.
Speaker 3 (06:28):
Is he going to be the common medal winner.
Speaker 1 (06:30):
H Jack. I really want Jack Higgins, but I think
I think at them. I'm gonna still'm gonna say Jesse Hogan,
he can come back, yeah Hogan or King for mine? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (06:41):
All right, tips and margin, lads, let's just get into
right into that. Unless you've got anything else to say,
We're all good, All good, mate, Oh good, you're a
bit worried as a hawksman. Probably always worried, mate, always
tips and falling out. Yeah, tips, I was that with you, Leo,
with your tip sounds by thirty two.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
Though that's a big margin. We had some stats to
back it up. I feel like someone else he has
a bigger margin just to have a little spoilers. I
just think conditions. They love it, high scoring game, get
around it.
Speaker 3 (07:07):
Yeah, I'm just going to ride the back of the
Sun's great record in dar one. I'm going to go
twenty two points.
Speaker 2 (07:13):
Oh sorry, he actually I'm actually going to go more
than we I'm going to go Suns by thirty seven.
What I think, wild, that's not that well. Massive Dunston
is a huge out. I don't see goals coming. I
know that the Smalls can have chipping for two. I
don't think Guinea and Watson more than two goals in
this game because the Suns have a pretty good defense,
(07:34):
and then I think Meets are pretty big out too.
Reeves is nother level as Lloyd Meek. So if Witzy
does play, he will absolutely dominate. And I still rate
Ned Moyle as a really good backup as we all do.
So I'm going to go Suns by thirty seven. They're
going to win eight in a row and do it
pretty comfortably up ind one, all right, Friday Night, Sydney
versus Carls and our executive producer Spence is actually going
(07:56):
to this game seven point forty at the SCG, the
beautiful SCG.
Speaker 1 (08:00):
Know this is your This is my one the first
thing we need to know about this game. And I'll
credit was it you, Marcus who gave me this. That
Sydney have won twenty of their last twenty two at
the SEG against Cult That is a lot. I'm no mathematician,
but that's pretty good, don't you. You can just say
the words, yeah, I did stumble a little bit. I
(08:21):
think a big talking point in this game is Carlton's
forward line, Colonel and mackay finding a bit of form.
Mckaye played his best game in a while in the
last two weeks, kurn I. Obviously, I think it's been
a lot better. Can the Sydney back line This is
going to be interesting for me and how they shape
up that. You know, you've got Tom mccarton down there,
(08:41):
he's going to be the key one. But do they
send handling back or is Rampy going to step up?
He's going to be undersized if he has to step
up on either opponent. So that's going to be a
key in this game because Sydney could play better around
the ground. But if Carton just say let's kick it
at Harry and Charlie, yeah, that could just give him,
you know, a five goal head start right there.
Speaker 2 (09:00):
Yeah, it comes down to lower in the eyes when
Carlton are hitting the targets a bit a little bit lower,
and if they can hit their targets here, they're going
to kick a bigger, much bigger s gore than Sidney.
Can I reckon because Mallikan, as Alex on the show
has mentioned before, he's a beast. He's a really good
one on one player and he's out so it's a.
Speaker 1 (09:16):
Huge app Yeah. Yeah, So that's that's sort of my
worry for Sydney on this one. But on the flip side,
we've heard there could be some wet weather yes involved
in this one. Who do we think we have suits.
Speaker 3 (09:28):
I think it definitely favored Sidney. The tall forwards of
McClean Kurnel. You look at the way Cup play, They're
always looking for that outlet on the wing that's not
which is normally probably Harry and then obviously Charlie Curner
is the main target, and both of those forwards they're
going to be there their main targets inside fifty. It's
(09:48):
just whether the likes when it gets to the ground,
the likes of dird and what Lope can clean up
inside forward fifty.
Speaker 2 (09:55):
Yeah, this is the type of game where we've a
few people in our office and on our show said moments,
if it's wet, he needs to step up and kick three.
Speaker 1 (10:03):
I'd say, I think as well and Motlop as well.
Yeah sure, yeah, And we've heard that Callum Mills is
a test as well, So I think if he's back
that kind of helps to those wet weather conditions because
he I think he plays really well in those sort
of gritty conditions. He'll be another mid rotation probably show
up the back line a bit yep, which is just
sort of a bit more leadership and voice that can
(10:24):
have down there, which will definitely help out if he
were to play. But if we're talking wet weather conditions
and we're talking to someone who has been in career
best form all Australian form stats guy, there's one guy
you've got here who he's just been in insane insane
for yeah, and he used to play for Sydney as well,
(10:45):
of course, so George Hewett.
Speaker 2 (10:46):
He's had thirty three plus disposals in three of his
last four interstate games. Usually guys when they travel, they
play better at home. He's been playing better away. He
has been unbelievable. He's all Australian form, which I'd say
no one would have picked at the start of the season.
He's good player and he's turned into their best player
this season and he's been awesome.
Speaker 3 (11:04):
And weather suits him as well, So if you need
someone to rely on to get disposals, it'll definitely be him.
Because in Sydney they're expecting one hundred meals over the week.
This week is going to be a lot of rain.
Speaker 1 (11:15):
And they're expecting Callum Bill's back. Possibly good.
Speaker 2 (11:20):
I really enjoyed that when when I'm getting to prove
from lear that means it's bad. But Leo is the
dad joke king, but he liked that way about that one. Yeah,
what else do we think we should we in the tips?
In marginal I think we should get to the tips.
All right, Tips, I'll go with you first, Marcus.
Speaker 3 (11:34):
I think because it's only because it's wet, and I
think a little bit of the homegrown advantage and obviously
the record that you mentioned before, Sydney will win this
and they'll win this by three goals.
Speaker 1 (11:43):
Oh yeah, what do you think Swan's by twenty four.
I think they'll just manage a way to overcome Koner
and Mackay. Oh.
Speaker 2 (11:55):
If it's wet like we're talking about, I think it's
going to be really low scoring. So I'm going to
go Swan's by six. I think it's going to be
a bit of a thriller at the SCG where really
scrappy and some of those big forwards won't have as
much impact as we thought. So I'm gonna say six
points to Sydney. They've got a good record against them
at SCG as we talked about.
Speaker 1 (12:11):
Just quietly to end on. This is actually a really
huge game for like both these teams going forward because
out of the eight, both need to start like have
this win and go from there with a big strong
month coming up. Good call call, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (12:25):
If one of these teams or both want to make finals,
they have to win this game.
Speaker 1 (12:29):
Do we agree with that? Yeah? Absolutely, yeah, good call.
All right, Saturday Saturday, forty year we go.
Speaker 2 (12:34):
This is my game, Collingwood versus Adelaide Saturday one twenty
at the MCG. Now, this has been one of the
blockbuster matchups of the last i'd say four years. They've
been unbelievable, these two playing against each other, really close
margins in the last four meetings, So I'll go through it.
It's four points, two points, one point and five points
in the last five four meetings.
Speaker 1 (12:55):
That's a tax file number you think of that. That
is so weird. The last one meetings have been absolute thrillers.
Speaker 2 (13:02):
And Colin would have actually won the last nine meetings
against Adelatte so that's a crazy record.
Speaker 1 (13:07):
That's a crazy tennant curse. It's a weird record.
Speaker 2 (13:09):
But Adelaide have played really well against the Pies, even
when the Pies won the flag, but they just don't
know how to get overline against them.
Speaker 3 (13:15):
There's also the controversial moments in this. In these fixtures,
even with those close margins, there is great they're great game.
Speaker 1 (13:21):
There is they were robbed right in front of me,
front of that little quip up.
Speaker 2 (13:26):
But yeah, a lot of Crows fans would be filthy
the last couple of times, last couple of years against
the Pies at the MCG specifically, so you had Dawson
getting smashed in the face as he went from mark
I think there was a minute left. He would have
been about twenty five thirty meters out and he got
hit across the face.
Speaker 1 (13:42):
No free kick and the Crows could have kicked the
remember that one.
Speaker 3 (13:45):
Have the Crows. Are the Crows the worst side at copying?
Speaker 1 (13:49):
Like decisions not on their way? Like one percent one
hundred percent? Are they targeted? Are they targeted? If they're
saying one hundred percent, then that means you think they're targeted. No,
I'm just saying it's bad luck. There's not thing is
bad luck. I just think it's it's umpires are evenly
bad to every side.
Speaker 2 (14:04):
No one's a victim, so the Crows were hard done
by against Sydney when they didn't make finals. They're hard
done by twice a rank and running too far. I
agree with that plan too far. I agree with that one.
Then you've got Dawson getting smashed. You've got welighing on
the ball like a spoon that like.
Speaker 1 (14:21):
Yeah, but Essendon also kicked twenty points in that game. Anyway,
we're getting off track.
Speaker 2 (14:25):
They'll be really fired up here because this is probably
the best chance I know they've had really close games,
but this is the best chance Adelaide have at beating
them in terms of the forwards.
Speaker 1 (14:35):
So we've got Darcy Moore is suspected to be out
this week. I don't know if I think it's confirmed. Okay,
there you go.
Speaker 2 (14:41):
So the fact that we talked about last week, the
big thing why Adelaide won last week was because Port
Adelaide didn't have the big big back one I think was.
Speaker 1 (14:49):
You talked about.
Speaker 3 (14:49):
They were probably just liking another tool defender and if
Darcy Moore's out, Thriller Fog and Walker, we'll.
Speaker 1 (14:56):
Just have a field Playne is going to have to
play on Walker at some stage or Fogged in that
you know, quaint is a great defender.
Speaker 2 (15:02):
But yeah, yeah, so that's a worrier. So he got
three of the top eight goal kickers in the league.
Radlic Thriller Texts and Foggerty are literally in the top
eight goal kickers in the league. They've they've been unbelievable.
They're going to kick a hundred points most games. Do
we think the Pies back only can hold that down
at all? I'm very that's only part I'm worried about
for Colne.
Speaker 1 (15:19):
I think that's the threat in this one for Collingwood,
Like if Adelaide can generate enough ball movement, from clearance,
from general play, give their fowards enough chance. We saw
against Port forty two inside fifties they win the game.
So you know, if they can get a couple more
inside fifties and really enertrade through probably what is a
better system than Port Adelaide's give themselves every chance here.
Speaker 3 (15:41):
I think I think this is going to be a
weird thing to say, but I think there's more jeopardy
in this game for Collingwood than there was last week.
Speaker 1 (15:48):
You say, Jennety are deputy jeopardy.
Speaker 3 (15:50):
Deputy then against when they played free ment or I
feel like, what do you mean by this is a
harder game?
Speaker 1 (15:57):
Just with Oh, it's a harder game.
Speaker 3 (15:58):
It's a harder game in terms of who they're they're
facing and how both sides match up against each other.
Speaker 1 (16:03):
Free men.
Speaker 3 (16:03):
It was a hard again for different reasons. Obviously they
came off the five days they had managed a few stars,
but this, for different reasons, is tougher for me.
Speaker 1 (16:13):
Yeah, yeah, I tend to agree, No, one hundred percent
agree with that.
Speaker 2 (16:17):
They've just got a great record against Adelaide, so of
course I'll be leaning towards them.
Speaker 3 (16:22):
That's the biggest question. Yes, who wins in all fight?
A crawrel or magpie?
Speaker 1 (16:26):
Oh? Magpie? Ah? If you go to if you go
to Europe, boy, have you seen the crows? Depend?
Speaker 2 (16:32):
Where's the crow from? If it's an Aussie cray? I going, ma,
Magpies are scary. Magpies are scary. I've got chased by
them a few times.
Speaker 1 (16:39):
It's when when did you ask that?
Speaker 2 (16:44):
It doesn't matter all that's get the tipsy margins before
it throws me under the bus again.
Speaker 1 (16:48):
Tips please le who are going this one? I think
pies will win this by ten points. We talk up
adelaid their forward line. But system for Collingwood just gets
it done. It just gets it done, no question, so
they know what they're doing. Can't go against them at
the G. I'm going to go Collingwood by a singular point.
It's going to be close.
Speaker 3 (17:09):
It's going to be one of the games of the season.
Speaker 1 (17:11):
Like their last couple of minutes, We're having a game
of the season every round. At this point, I.
Speaker 2 (17:16):
Think every second game is the game of the season.
This one would be better than the best round ever.
Speaker 1 (17:20):
It's just now.
Speaker 2 (17:20):
There's one coming up later on I think will be
game of the Sea. We go Pies by five points.
Speaker 1 (17:24):
I'm going to say. I'm going to continue with Marcus.
Speaker 2 (17:26):
I think it's going to be five straight games of
a margin of five points or less, which would be
absolutely crazy, but I think it could happen and Collingwood
win them more and they how to win close games.
Twenty twenty three, that is are they're so annoying.
Speaker 1 (17:37):
They can't get getting away with this.
Speaker 2 (17:38):
Leo they again again, Bloody bluddy colling would be good
on them all right. This next one is Saturday, a
four fifteen at the Adelaide Oval, Port Adelaide, versus Geelong,
which is an interesting matchup and a bit of a
tasty matchup later.
Speaker 1 (17:52):
I think this is a really intriguing game. The first
thing to touch on Port Adelaide. Yes, they build up
all this energy for the showdown, Kenny gets some fired
up for these big games, their emotional come down after
the showdown. Do we think they can get up for
this challenge.
Speaker 2 (18:10):
I'm gonna say absolutely not, Absolutely not. They literally did
the same thing against Hawks.
Speaker 1 (18:15):
They were like, beat the Hawks, they beat Sydney the week,
even Sydney Schmidney. They're down. That's round of me.
Speaker 2 (18:28):
But you're right, I genuinely think that they just can't
step up for these big games unless there's like something
behind it. It's Ken gonna go, We're gonna go after
that Bailey Smith or something.
Speaker 3 (18:36):
I think there is a little bit behind this though.
The previous meeting between the two sides and finals was
a big blowout.
Speaker 2 (18:42):
But I just don't know if there's enough in there
for that emotional side. And you're right, I think it
is an emotion comes down. It wouldn't be as big
of an emotional come down if they won. They'd have
a bit more confidence, even kind of rosy except in
the Metal it's just a weird feeling when you lose,
and like just a weird vibe. So I don't know
if they can bring that against him.
Speaker 1 (18:57):
Yeah, and I know port fans might not like us
saying it, but they are an emotional side. They get
fueled up for these big games and I don't think
I think there is you know, something in this game
from last season, like you said, but it's not going
to compare to the Showdown. So I just want to
keep an eye out on their effort and their sort
of I guess intensity around the ball. Can it be
(19:17):
as ferocious as it is against those big games that
Kenny really gets them up for good?
Speaker 3 (19:23):
But there are plenty of question marks though around Gelong.
Speaker 1 (19:24):
Isn't it one hundred percent? Thank you for that, Marcus. Geelong,
they've had the weirdest couple of weeks. Can we actually
chat about this one? I would love to. They randomly
no offense to Olivia Bey on the camera, but they
randomly lose to the Blues like yeah, for some reason,
kind of like you know, they're pushing for finals, but
you'd expect Gelong to win that. They beat the Pies
(19:46):
like randomly and then they lose to the Giants at home.
Are they the weirdest team in the AFL? They are? They?
Speaker 2 (19:52):
I think similar to what Brisbane's been doing this year.
They sink to the opponent's level a little bit. That's
my that's my opinion. That your theory, that's my theory.
And it's some of the big teams.
Speaker 1 (20:01):
Do do do do do do.
Speaker 2 (20:03):
That, but generally like they I don't know if it's
to do with in the back of the head that
Giants record because they've won the last five there.
Speaker 1 (20:10):
I don't know if that has to do with it.
Speaker 2 (20:12):
Jeremy Cameron actually is one and six in the Geelong
Giants matchup because he's lost a couple of the Giants
and he keeps losing as a Geelong player against the Giants.
Speaker 1 (20:21):
One. That's another little stat for you. But yeah, it's
a very weird one, isn't it. Yeah, So with keeping
that in mind, like it's just I don't know, it's
I think I'm not d on it. I'm just about
to say my point, please mate. I was just gonna say,
do we think that they can actually like put their
(20:42):
foot down on this port side?
Speaker 2 (20:44):
Ah?
Speaker 1 (20:44):
Yes, yep.
Speaker 2 (20:45):
Yeah, I think that's more on Port Adelaide's side of
things than Gelong side Geelong, than just one of those teams.
Speaker 3 (20:51):
Similarly to Collingwood, just all system and it has been
under Chris Scott for over a decade. So yeah, of
course I can rows up to this one. But there
could be a couple of players that lose their heads.
For yeah, two of the most we're talking about emotions.
Speaker 1 (21:07):
Who's going to go ahead bas Lanka and his bird
watch at Adelaide Oval versus the Hornet and his Papakley
Who will lose their call more? Ah, that's a tough one.
I reckon they'll like get.
Speaker 2 (21:21):
Into Jason or Francis a bit because there's been a
few feisty matches.
Speaker 1 (21:25):
Francis at home, he can't lose his call more than
Bailey Smith the crowd. Are we getting into Bailey Smith?
Speaker 2 (21:31):
Bailey Smith will say, because Porto later known as the
feistiest crowds. I reckon there will be something with Bailey
Smith and the crowd this.
Speaker 1 (21:38):
Week and that's what I know.
Speaker 3 (21:39):
But I know, but the horny one, he always loses
his head at Adelaide Oval at home, he.
Speaker 1 (21:44):
Needs a buddy shape up. I reckon he does going
at home? Why are you losing your head that much?
What are you doing? What are you doing?
Speaker 2 (21:50):
That would be a really a good one to watch.
Tips and margin lads, Marcus, who are going, Oh, I think.
Speaker 3 (21:54):
That's going to be it. I know last week was close,
but I'm just predicting this week to be very close
as well. Geelong by two points.
Speaker 1 (22:02):
Say that they're going to put their foot down and
smash them. No, I'm saying no.
Speaker 3 (22:05):
I said that if they could, they are the team
that could because they're system based.
Speaker 1 (22:09):
Okay, I think Cats by twenty seven, and it'll be
a very I don't want to be disrespectful, but a
bit of an uneventful game. I think they'll sort of
have to lead to out. Yeah, okay, I agree with
that one. I think Cat's by thirty.
Speaker 2 (22:21):
I think very similarly, they'll have to lead throughout a
little bit of a weird start. They talked about it before.
The underdog is actually won in Geelong's last five matches.
Speaker 1 (22:29):
So a lot of them.
Speaker 2 (22:30):
So that just adds to the weirdness and adds to
the weirdness of Gelong if they're so up and down.
But I do think they'll win as favorites in this one,
Cat's by thirty points.
Speaker 1 (22:36):
Nice. All right here we got another Sat Day AVO game.
I didn't.
Speaker 2 (22:40):
I just realized that JWS verse FreeMat same time four
fifteen at NG Stadium.
Speaker 1 (22:44):
They're final f back at end, which you will touch on, Marcus. Yeah,
we'll come on home.
Speaker 3 (22:52):
G WS return home after six weeks at six different stadiums.
Speaker 1 (22:57):
Can you boys name them? They're on the run. I
probably shouldn't have done that.
Speaker 3 (23:03):
They played at JI, the sc G, Manica, Adelaide Oval,
Norwood and Energy Stadium where they return back this.
Speaker 1 (23:11):
Week's Little Lads Strip. You'd be good as that?
Speaker 3 (23:15):
That is what on the would you would you want
to be on the road like as us on the
road six different venues recording shows road.
Speaker 1 (23:22):
I would, I would. But it can be fine.
Speaker 3 (23:24):
We'll bring the team closer together.
Speaker 1 (23:26):
We're already close. It can be closer. Well, well, they
will be.
Speaker 3 (23:34):
They'll be full of confidence though after beating Geelong and look,
one that needs confidence is Toby Green. But I think
he can have a game here and get on the
scoreboard heavily because Freemantle just love conceding goals to small forwards.
We saw it last week against Collingwood. Jamie Elliott kicked
six goals, one from entries as well. Bobby Bobby Hill
also kick three goals. So I pose this question to
(23:56):
you boys, all right, our Freemantle the worst team in
the competition if you compare their ability are the worst
team in the competition? You compare their ability at kicking
the ball inside fifty their entries inside fifty Melbourne?
Speaker 1 (24:10):
Yeah, Melbourne. I was gonna say they'll fix it.
Speaker 3 (24:14):
Up, like we're not saying West Coast of Richmond, because
the free Men will have the players to do it.
Speaker 1 (24:19):
Yeah, free out of the play Yeah.
Speaker 2 (24:20):
Probably probably right in terms of what they're out what
should be, Yes, I will agree with that. And very frustrating,
Like we've talked about this all three of fans, even
out out front of the stadium. I saw a few
fan TV things. They're just getting so frustrated. They should
be playing a lot better. I said this on the
Sunday Show. You go to Josh Trace, just just lower
the eyes for the big big Cahuna whatever they call
him down there.
Speaker 1 (24:40):
He's so good. Yeah, and he kicked two goals.
Speaker 3 (24:43):
He's kicked twenty two in nine games this year, but
he could have kicked more like Yeah, But one that
we've got to look at is Joy Miss, his partner
in crime. Has he been doing enough.
Speaker 1 (24:52):
I don't know. Not in the recent weeks.
Speaker 3 (24:53):
No, I don't know if he is just having a
look now. He's kicked thirteen goals in nine games, so
it's not horrible.
Speaker 1 (24:58):
It's not horribly young player. There are moments in games
where you watch it and he drops a mark when
that he needs to take. He's not presenting as he
should be, but we'll forgive him.
Speaker 3 (25:08):
I think he's very accurate as well, thirteen dollars five accurate,
accurate in front of goals.
Speaker 1 (25:13):
He doesn't miss. He doesn't miss.
Speaker 3 (25:14):
He doesn't miss. He doesn't miss, unlike his name says.
But yeah, Freemantle, we have to see an improvement from Freemail.
It's a big game for them.
Speaker 1 (25:23):
No, it is. It is who do we think needs
to step up? So you obviously got there. They rely
on their midfield heavily, brace and wrong.
Speaker 3 (25:28):
Yeah, Hayden Young being out probably for the rest of
the season, isn't he Yeah, you had to step back
on another injury. So uh, that's a big, big out
because he's a great ball user and we've just seen
the best of him towards the end of last season.
But I feel like Brashaw has been fantastic. I think
the Wrong's been okay. I guess the wrong has been okay.
But Brayshaw has been the standout so far. But it's
(25:48):
the ones around them that need to I think.
Speaker 2 (25:50):
It's yeah, Luke, Ryan John and Clark. They get a
lot of the ball and they do a lot of
switches and a lot get it forward and hit hit
some targets.
Speaker 1 (25:57):
I think that's the that's their big problem.
Speaker 2 (25:59):
And if they start clear king, can they still be
good or we're just putting an X through it can
still be good.
Speaker 1 (26:04):
You can still be time twenty time in the year.
Actually Hawks were bad last year. Ship something one in May.
Speaker 2 (26:09):
That is very true. Very wise man over there, all right.
I've got a bit of a stat here as well.
GWS have actually won eighteen of their last nine to
eight matches at Energy Stadium against teams who are on
a losing streak. So when the other teams are on
the way down, they're not going too well, they pounce
and they get a win usually so interesting. That's why
I'm leaning towards JWS as my tip in this one.
I'm going to go to the Giants by twenty points.
(26:30):
I think they're much better outfit, especially at home. They'll
be so fired up and excited to be back at
Energie Stadium.
Speaker 1 (26:36):
Yeah, I think Giants by nine. I actually think this
might be high scoring this one. You are high scoring, yeah,
I think so. There's just something about it, something in
the water.
Speaker 2 (26:45):
Okay, something in the water out in the energy out
in Western Sydney.
Speaker 1 (26:49):
I'm going to go a little bit of a bigger margin.
Speaker 3 (26:52):
I'm going to as by five goals. Whow points We
have done that in five goals. I'm still clear of
the close margins.
Speaker 1 (26:59):
Yeah, first non close, Martin.
Speaker 2 (27:01):
There we go, all right, Saturday night, Marvel Stadium at
seven thirty five, Western Bulldogs taking you on accident. Marcus
is fired up for this one. This is a really,
really fun game. The big question here we're gonna I'm
gonna start with a big question. Can the Dogs bounce back?
They've actually won their last eight at Marvel Stadium, They've
won four of the last six against the Bombers, only
just lost the Gold Coasts. So I definitely think they
(27:23):
can bounce back. What do you guys think?
Speaker 1 (27:24):
Yeah, I think they can. I think a big thing
that might go unnoticed is their fatigue Laton games additions
in Darwin. Can they back up a four quarter performance?
But I think they'll start really well and yeah, just
keeping eye on that end. But overall, yes, they'll bounce back. No,
I think so do you think? Do you think so? Oh? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (27:46):
Absolutely, Like the loss against gold Coast wasn't a concern
for me.
Speaker 1 (27:49):
No.
Speaker 3 (27:50):
If anything, it just shows improved how good they have
been and their resilience and so during games because whenever
gold Coast went three four goals up, they craw it back. Yeah,
all that towards the end of the game as well
in particular. So ye, no concerns for the dogs for me.
They will definitely bounce back.
Speaker 1 (28:05):
No, I agree. And then on the accidence side, they
find five of the last six.
Speaker 2 (28:08):
I think Kane cons was talking them up towards towards
fine was a few other to the next Hawthorn.
Speaker 1 (28:12):
It was next year, not this year, next year, he said.
Speaker 2 (28:15):
For this year to be the next Hawthorne. O mind, anyway,
they've won five the last six. But the worry is
they haven't been anyone above thirteenth, so they're getting over
the line.
Speaker 1 (28:24):
As an Escedent fan, I would.
Speaker 2 (28:25):
Still be happy. I've been to a few Essident games.
I've heard how you reacted after games. You feel like
a loss sometimes, but the fact that you're getting wins
and you've got some young guys coming through that are awesome.
Speaker 1 (28:34):
As an Esident fan, he's still happy. You're still winning.
We're still winning.
Speaker 3 (28:38):
That's a good sign at least to not sort of
play well and win. But second halves is such a
big concern. Score twenty points in the second half against Sydney,
against North Melbourne and the kicked two goals in the
second half, and look at times it's like I was
with you. I didn't even want to sing the song
after the game celebrate. But Sydney was a little bit different.
Rate was up to one fifty two towards the end
(28:59):
of the day.
Speaker 1 (29:00):
Game.
Speaker 3 (29:00):
After the game against Sydney, you passed out.
Speaker 1 (29:03):
Yeah it was.
Speaker 3 (29:03):
It was tense, Yeah, but look, I don't think it'll
be as close this game spil Yeah.
Speaker 1 (29:09):
Well, the second half point is interesting because I just
touched on Dogs maybe having a week second half because
of their fatigue, maybe settling in from the last bombers
as well, a good chance for Essendon. Actually maybe pants
on that, Yeah, yeah, possibly, I hope.
Speaker 2 (29:20):
So yeah, we've talked about the improvement of Ed Richards,
Matt Kennedy and then but then on the bomber's side,
it's good to see the young guys coming through.
Speaker 1 (29:26):
Nate Caddy.
Speaker 2 (29:27):
You've got Sardou Hull, he's been really good the last
i'd say two weeks. Who else, Zach Reed, he's been
one of the best backman in the last three weeks.
Speaker 1 (29:35):
All about it?
Speaker 2 (29:36):
Yeah, yeah, there we go, great work later. The other
one that I wanted to finish on is the tag.
So you've got Bond vers merit. That's going to be
a really fun matchup. Two of the best players in
the i'd say top five players in the competition. Got
great ahead and then you've got does Durham tag Bond?
Now before oh you answer that question, Bond averages his
least disposals against Essendon than any other team, which is
(29:57):
twenty one disposals because of Durham the last i'd say
two or three matchups, which surprised me because it doesn't
like height wise, body wise is not the best matchup. Yeah,
but Durham does pretty well.
Speaker 3 (30:06):
Yeah, Durham just runs around and he goes hard. But
Bonton Pelly, you can have twenty disposals or twenty one
disposals in this game and kick three or four goals.
Speaker 1 (30:14):
Like that's just the type of player he is.
Speaker 3 (30:16):
Yeah, but I don't think do the Dogs tag.
Speaker 1 (30:21):
They don't have a tagger, No, they don't usually.
Speaker 2 (30:23):
I think Libber will run with America's He's a beast
at tackling.
Speaker 1 (30:26):
It's not a tagging role.
Speaker 2 (30:27):
But yeah, I just think it'll be a good matchup
and then they don't have to worry about tagging because
lib is actually good at running both ways compared to
some other Dogs players.
Speaker 1 (30:34):
But yeah, I don't think they'll tag.
Speaker 2 (30:36):
But I reckon Durham because of that, even that stat line,
they'll be like, we just doesn't have as much influence
when we put Durham on you, so we might as
well leavehim there.
Speaker 1 (30:43):
Yeah, it'd be smart from Scott to do that.
Speaker 3 (30:46):
Durham never tags unless it's against Wonton Pelly. Yeah, actually
said that the other week. Yeah, Yeah, that is wild.
Speaker 2 (30:52):
All right, Tips and margin, Now there's some big margins
if but we'll get into it.
Speaker 1 (30:57):
Leo, what do you reckon Dogs by twenty three? I
think they'll start, as I said, really strong. Maybe the
margin at halftime will be greater than what it is
full time. Okay, there we go, Marcus.
Speaker 3 (31:07):
I'm not so optimistic for my side. I think the
Dogs by forty points.
Speaker 1 (31:11):
Oh, it's weird.
Speaker 2 (31:13):
I'm very similar, Dogs by forty five. It's weird saying
this for a team that's won five of the last six.
I feel like it's disrespectful. But there haven't been anyone
in the Dog's caliber. The third evesm below they've beaten.
Dogs are six on the ladder. I think the Dogs
at Marvel, they've won their last eight, they are going
to run over them. Actually I didn't mention as well
that they're the third best offense and the Bombers are
fifteenth on offense. So I think the Dogs can kick
(31:34):
a big score and sid and be worried about them.
Speaker 1 (31:36):
So there we go, all right, Sunday Sunday Funday.
Speaker 2 (31:40):
As Leo likes to say, here we go Richmond verse
North Melbourne.
Speaker 1 (31:43):
I am so nervous, but bit confident. I don't know
how to explain it to say that Sunday one at
the mcg A.
Speaker 2 (31:51):
North Morven plays there once or twice a year, so
this is very weird, Leo. This is your game and
I'm shaking in my boots already.
Speaker 1 (31:56):
The game of the round. You forgot to add Richmond
West Coast was a fun game. Yeah, it was just
I want to give a weekly a miner. North if
not won a first quarter this season. That's because because
I'm saying it, I think this game is decided a
quarter time. I think if Richmond jump you, I think
(32:17):
Richmond win. I think if you're in the game, North win.
North don't need to be leading at quarter time, they don't.
They just need to be a quarter timeline North.
Speaker 3 (32:27):
Like, what do you mean how close do they have
to be?
Speaker 1 (32:29):
I think within a goal genuinely, because one of those
it's one of those ones where you could come back,
but not like if you're if you're backed by three
two goals, even you come back and then I don't know,
like you can never make that next step like you
did against I.
Speaker 2 (32:46):
Know what you're saying, because Richmond they did it, They've
done it well and they are a couple of wins.
They are really good on the counter attack. So the
team will have all the play they'll hold down solidly
like okay, defensively and then Seth Campbell and Mansell and
if you guys on the counter attack, it's one hundred per.
That's what I'm worried about as a North fan, that
we could have all the play back And are they
(33:06):
playing Brexit footballs say they're playing football.
Speaker 1 (33:10):
Rich and playing bres and football. I really like that.
That is what I did not think we were going
to get there. Get a few slide tackles, send him.
Oh yeah, no, Bolt might do a slide tackle. They
should recruit to be green starts up. Do North have
to smash Richmond? Because I think you guys have some
(33:31):
strong thoughts about it. This is tough. I don't want
to say this and then we lose. But will you
do you have to smash him? No? I say we
don't have to. Okay, I think we can. We don't
have to.
Speaker 2 (33:44):
I think we just have to win. We don't know
how to win. We should have been in Brisbane. We
probably should have been Necesdon. I don't think we should
have been in Port, but we should have been a
bit closer and gotten a bit closer in that game.
I just think North need to win just to get
the fans, the players, the coaches, just to get a
bit of breath, breath of fresh air in the place
because it agree just need a win.
Speaker 3 (34:01):
I think you have to win by at least four goals.
Speaker 1 (34:04):
They just need you do. I don't care if I'm
thinking the song we might, I'll do account.
Speaker 3 (34:08):
But like the worst thing is that we've seen so
much good from North Melbourne in the past three weeks
with essen im Port and Brisbane. This is where we
need to say, look, this is where the consistency is.
If they're inconsistent, but whin win this game by a kick?
Have they really improved? Like, have they really improved and
shown something?
Speaker 1 (34:27):
They just need a winning feeling. They just need a
winning I agree with that. To help with that winning feeling.
Larky best Lynch. This shouldn't even be a debate, but
I think both need to live for their sides game
Lynch playing on combin it was really good last week
and Larky needing to kick some important goals. Can he
actually step up and do it?
Speaker 2 (34:46):
So a little bit of a watch for them, Yeah,
I think Larkie should very rarely, even though we're playing
bad should very rarely have one goal games. His minimum
has to be two, and he's missed some easy shots,
so I think he needs.
Speaker 1 (34:56):
To step up here. Yeah, one hundred percent. There we go,
tips and margin lad.
Speaker 2 (35:00):
I'll start with Leo because he's he's a bit on
the fensive, and he'll he'll give us a tip.
Speaker 1 (35:05):
I really don't know what's going to happen in this game.
I'm going to tip North, but I just want to
float that this could be a diver. He's not saying.
I'm not saying Rich win. Why don't you just tip
the draw on the show? Okay, I'll tip the draw.
I can just it's written in the stars. In the
stars for North that this is a draw. He gets
(35:27):
five points.
Speaker 3 (35:28):
If it's a draw, five points of what look to
tipping results.
Speaker 2 (35:32):
Oh okay, cool, Yeah, yeah, I like that.
Speaker 1 (35:37):
I like that.
Speaker 3 (35:38):
I said North have to win by four goals, and
that's exactly where I'm going to go.
Speaker 1 (35:41):
Four goals. Yeah, fair enough.
Speaker 2 (35:43):
I genuinely think we can, but I'm going to say
fifteen points. I think, like I said before, I think
North will have a lot of the play, a lot
of the clearances, a lot of the inside fifties. But
we still haven't figured out how to play good footy.
So I don't care who's who's it against. It's going
to be close, and that's what I'm going to go.
Fifteen points. I reckon Richmond might make it, but I
reckon we could get up by four goals. Richmond make
a bit of a late comeback. They're pretty fast and speedy.
North by fifteen points and I very rarely tip us,
(36:06):
so please win. I'll be at the g You'll be
at the g Actually, I'm going on a North fan.
Speaker 1 (36:09):
Oh please? If we have a drawer, i'd rather lose.
I don't want to draw. I can just see it happening.
I'd be filthy with that, all right.
Speaker 2 (36:18):
Next game on Sunday three twenty at the Gabba, Brisbane
verse Melbourne Brisbane. Obviously coming off that drawer in Melbourne,
they'll be desperate for another bounce back here. First question
we like the big questions on here? Will Clarry tag
again and go to lockey? Neil so Lea, you talked
up Clary. I didn't even notice it that much, and
after the game we sort of dove deeper into that.
Speaker 1 (36:38):
But Clary was a solid tagger last week. Yeah, I
think he did a great job and I think he'll
try and do it again. Neil was obviously a better
player than you can, so we'll see how we go.
He'll go. And then the other one was Dunky to Petraca.
We think he'll play a little bit of a negating
role since he's thet Yeah, really fun matchups.
Speaker 3 (36:56):
Dunkey is one of the best tacklers and you're looking
at one of the best debating tackles is Christian Petrarca,
So that could be the matchup.
Speaker 1 (37:02):
Yeah, likely to go there.
Speaker 2 (37:03):
Yeah, and then if Clarik goes to Neil or Duckley
goes to Petraka. What's what's the stat That's what I
was gonna ask you guys, what is the stat line
that we think like is it? Is it Neil under
twenty twenty five? Is it Petraca not hitting the scoreball.
I think Petraca's most damage when he hits the scorebot,
so I'd be worried about.
Speaker 1 (37:19):
Him on that half forward line personally. Do you guys
agree with that? Yeah, I think the stat line for
Neir would be to keep him under twenty five. I think, okay,
we might have to watch that. Then with Petrarca, I
think it's more impact based. Like if you watch a
Melbourne game, you notice Petrarca. If you don't notice him,
credit to Dunkley.
Speaker 3 (37:35):
And look the difference here is if Dunkley goes to Petraca,
locks him down a little bit, all of us got
to keep his hands busy keeping up with Neil. But
then who who goes to the other Brisbane midfielders true McCluggage.
Speaker 2 (37:48):
And does Melbourne have enough like five power to get clearances?
Yeah without Claria.
Speaker 1 (37:53):
Did you notice that in the Hawk game that actually
they did? Yeah, because we didn't tag. That's so that's
why I think if Brisbane tagged Petrarca, it's really down
to Cozy when he's in a center bounds or yeah,
Jack Viney, Tom Sparrow of these guys. So I think
Brisbane have more depth in that area. Yep.
Speaker 2 (38:08):
Cool Brisbane as well. They're just getting over the line
this year in some of their games. Are the few
fans probably a bit worried about that draw?
Speaker 1 (38:14):
I'm not too. I think they're not peaking early a
lot of teams like they did when they won the flag.
Speaker 2 (38:18):
They're building and they just know how to get over
the line. We said last week go on to Hobart.
They're really up for a game down in Hobart and
they've actually had close games against them some of the
lower teams. They've had close games against Sydney, West Coast,
Richmond and North which when you look at it just
like that, it's like, oh, that's a bit of a worry.
But they haven't lost any of them those games and
they're getting over the line. That's that's the side of
(38:38):
a premiership team when you're not playing it at your
best and you're still getting to win. So do you
think Brisbane fans shouldn't be worried at this stage of
the season even though there's drew to North, because that's
that was a big shock.
Speaker 1 (38:47):
I think give it until the buye. They've got to
improve until a bye and then play the best football
after buye and then if they're not, that's when you're worried. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (38:55):
I'm not worried about this. So I think the line's
win comfortably. I think they win with thirty three points.
Speaker 2 (38:59):
Thirty three we'll go on to the tips very nice,
all right, Yeah, we can do the tips. Why not, Leo,
what's your tip.
Speaker 1 (39:04):
In this one? The lines by forty one? I think
they'll be way after last week. I'm going to go
lines by thirty.
Speaker 2 (39:09):
I'll start chucking a little thing I was going to
ask as well Fridge that I think is a if
he plays, I might even put lines by more. I'm
really worried about badly Fridge. He's been so good. He
had years where he kicked fifty goals. He's kicked seven
goals in eight games. He's on track for his worst
season since his debut season in twenty eighteen.
Speaker 1 (39:25):
So do we think he should be dropped?
Speaker 2 (39:27):
And I think that's why part of the reason I'm
leaning towards Brisbane, they just don't have goalkickers Melbourne.
Speaker 1 (39:32):
I keep him in at the moment.
Speaker 2 (39:34):
I keep him at the moment too. He just needs
one game for a bit of confidence in my opinion.
Speaker 1 (39:38):
Maybe maybe one't come against Brisbane.
Speaker 2 (39:40):
Though, Yeah, but roll tip in the lines by thirty
points or more to be at the GABA. All right,
here we go Sunday, last game four forty at OPTAs
Stadium or West Coast Saint Kilda, which is actually dividing
a few of us which will touch on Marcus this
is yourn.
Speaker 3 (39:54):
Yeah, well we're saving the best game of the round
until last, don't we.
Speaker 1 (39:57):
We've said that.
Speaker 3 (39:59):
The Is this the game where West Coast grabbed their
first win of the season.
Speaker 1 (40:05):
Oh no, no, you don't think so.
Speaker 3 (40:10):
I think they could grab the win is if we
got to keep a eye on and eye on their
back line and see if Jerry m McGovern plays or not. Yeah,
I think he does play. I think they're a very
very good chance of getting a win here. Actually, and
if he doesn't, I still think they've got a chance,
but it would be at quite a lot, quite a
lot tougher. But look, can the Saints be aggressive compared
(40:33):
to last week? This is against Carlton at the g.
I don't know why they.
Speaker 1 (40:38):
Ran they when they made the finals a few years ago,
they were just playing attacking footy.
Speaker 2 (40:43):
They were done around everywhere, everyone's running. Nothing can attack
first and then Rosslyn brought them back.
Speaker 1 (40:47):
Guys, we need to play a bit defense. That's what
you were.
Speaker 3 (40:49):
Actually played last week.
Speaker 1 (40:51):
If McGovern's back, it will play in his hands one
hundred percent. They've got to put some speed on the ball,
got to play on from marks, find the uncontested marks.
How they love to play sank kill. They have to
come out and be aggressive.
Speaker 3 (41:02):
But you were reading an article last week stats to
me that you don't think McGovern's going to be to
play this game.
Speaker 2 (41:08):
I think it was Scofield and a few of the
other like sort of Western Australian podcasters and things like that.
We're all saying that his concussion is a lot worse
than they thought, so he might not be back. I
really like Sandy Brock. I don't know if you guys
saw it, Like he first half he was very poor
and he's a young guys and he played a couple
of games. But the second half he was really good.
He took a lot of intercept marks. But compared to McGovern,
it's just such a big hole. I do like some
(41:29):
of the young guys. Groat Gross came on and actually
as the sub and he was really good, which was
really surprising. But you just need that leadership that because
like even Tim Kelly's dropped, like a feel their leaders
haven't been at their best. Oscar Allen obviously hasn't mean
at his best and things like that. So McGovern without him,
I think they're absolutely cooked and the Saints.
Speaker 1 (41:48):
They're not that bad Leo. You've talked him up all. Yeah,
they're good.
Speaker 2 (41:52):
They if they play that attacking games. So if Ross,
let's them off the chain, top four not top four,
they will win this game. Well they do, they do
have a good record or up the stadia. They do,
they last four and off the stadium. That's why I'm
leaning towards them. I can't believe people are tipping West Coast.
They lost to Richmond. They lost to Richmond, No way
they would.
Speaker 3 (42:10):
But you could lose the Richmond.
Speaker 1 (42:13):
Where crap says are at least like three or four
wins better than.
Speaker 3 (42:17):
They think they are.
Speaker 1 (42:18):
That's don't worry. I know, sorry, I know what you're saying,
but I.
Speaker 3 (42:23):
Have you'd have you and Saint Kilda on a similar
sort of pedestal.
Speaker 1 (42:26):
It's so disrespectful to the Saint Kilda and me.
Speaker 3 (42:29):
Not you at I don't think there's that much of
a gap between Saint Kilda and North Melbourne.
Speaker 1 (42:34):
Is that crazy to say? I think I think that's
crazy to say. Okay, there's a couple of wins at
the moment as well enough.
Speaker 3 (42:39):
Maybe maybe I'm a bit crazy for tipping West Coast then,
so what's your what's your margin?
Speaker 1 (42:43):
West Coast VI?
Speaker 3 (42:44):
I think it's going to be a close game either
side of the coin. Even if St Kilda do win,
I still think it'd be close. But I'm going to
go West Coast at seven points. I'm just always fearful
of them at opt the stadium. I don't know what
it is about they keep it closer. Maybe it's just
they go over there, make it a bit dimer. Saints
by thirty. Let's be serious.
Speaker 1 (43:01):
Let's be I agree, Let's let's be serious. Three, let's
be serious.
Speaker 2 (43:05):
When a guy that SIPs Saints like almost every week,
Saints by twenty five points, I don't they're much better side.
Speaker 1 (43:11):
Than West Coast.
Speaker 2 (43:11):
I don't care if it's up to say, And they've
got a good record there and I'm back in the Saints,
and I think after this week, if the Saints lose,
I'm not timming it for the rest of the year
because they've cost me a few tips the Sainters. They
better win this week, but I think they will comfortable. Yep,
all right, that's all the games wrapped?
Speaker 1 (43:26):
What are around?
Speaker 2 (43:27):
This could be one of the best rounds ever, as
which we've said every times. Let's get into the lock
of the week and big calls, lads, so locks, get
into it. Please lear first, what's your lock of the week?
Speaker 1 (43:37):
Last week? I did Brisbane leading against North a quarter time.
Who are North playing this week? Richmond leading a quarter time?
North if not won a first quarter. I just got it.
I'm gonna ride with that until it doesn't happen. It
might happen for the rest of the year. That's why
I'm going to keep doing it. That's a lock. That's
a lock. Marcus Gorcos win and down. That's a good one.
Speaker 2 (43:55):
They've won last seven there, make it eight, make it eight.
I'm going to say my lock is the Dogs bounced back.
They get a win over Essendon, got some good locks.
They're so much better than Essendon and at Marvel won
the last eight there, so get around the dogs, all right?
Can we get Actually maybe we should have a I'll
get into this on the socials. Possibly, but nope, we
should have a forfeit if you're to get up because
the lock should be a certain worried this week because
(44:17):
he's done Richmonds.
Speaker 1 (44:18):
Nor the lock for or we can we can workshop
that we can work. Yeah, he doesn't want to do
this week.
Speaker 2 (44:25):
All right, big call, lads, We're gonna get some big
calls this week.
Speaker 1 (44:28):
I can feel the energy in the room.
Speaker 3 (44:31):
I'm confused here what Leo has just got Bam bam
in the run sheet?
Speaker 1 (44:35):
What does that? You don't know what that dam bam?
Matthew Kennedy. Isn't that his nickname? I don't know.
Speaker 3 (44:40):
Well, there we got a bit more context. Big call,
Matthew Kennedy.
Speaker 1 (44:43):
Big cold, Bam bam gets twenty five disposals, six plus
clearances and a goal against the Bombers. And yeah, just
bam bam. Thank you, take merret.
Speaker 2 (44:52):
Thank you, ma'am. Daniel Rich used to be called Bam
bam as well. He actually looks more like bam bam
because he has the blonde locks. You know, why is
matt I'm gonna fuse one mac Andy's call that? But right, anyway,
what's your big call?
Speaker 1 (45:05):
Marcus?
Speaker 3 (45:05):
We talked about two of the emotional players in the
Port and Gelong game, and I think they're going to
be very emotional and getting a scrap with each other.
So Jason Horn Francis and Bailey Smith will get in
a punch on a scrap jump a punch get modern
AFL punch on.
Speaker 1 (45:23):
Is this a big call? Yes, Two emotional players argue
with each other, specific players to get in. The most
emotional players in the game fight each other.
Speaker 3 (45:34):
Two players to get in a scrap one on one
with each other. You're telling me that's not.
Speaker 1 (45:39):
A big you're going to happen. He didn't think that's
a big call. Allow it, but.
Speaker 3 (45:47):
Let us know in the collins, I think that's a
big call.
Speaker 1 (45:49):
I don't think let us know what's going to happen.
Speaker 2 (45:50):
And my big call, ads, you talked up Toby Green
before that Freo just a horrible Toby. Uncle Toby four
plus goals and fifteen plusters by I wanted to get
I wanted to get four plus goals, but Leo wanted
me to get the disposals in there as well.
Speaker 1 (46:05):
I think it forgets bus the way you didn't need
to add the disposals. I was the only one that
said to add it. Everyone else in the office said
you don't need no, but you're putting up on the socials.
I respect your word. Respect.
Speaker 3 (46:14):
Is Uncle Toby going to producer oats or goats performance
on the weekend.
Speaker 1 (46:24):
Today? For today? I did? That was good. You're not
approving that on That is outrageous. That will definitely do
us for AFL Today.
