Speaker 1 (00:00):
Another awesome show that Around eleven Rap is here. Lads,
what do we discussed. I'm going to talk about Nick
Daikos's bodyguard. Oh love that.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
And I'm going to tell you why the Dogs, even
though they've lost to the Sons and the Cats in
the last three weeks, are a better flag chance.

Speaker 1 (00:15):
Than both of them. Beautiful AFL Today is starting right now.
Round eleven is done and dusted and welcome to AFL
Today's Weekend Rap. I'm your host, Leah McCallon also owns
the Stats Guy. We've got Leo Malalley in the corner
as always weird to say after a Hawk's loss again,
but he's still be fired up for the show. He
gone there, will I be fired up?

Speaker 3 (00:36):
Look, I don't think anything happened four point fifteen at
the g yesterday. I think it was just a bit
of a bit of nothing. I was just preparing for
the North Pies game. Oh yes, sure, I can believe
you keep going to North games. But respect respect to you.
How about your mates as well?

Speaker 1 (00:47):
Ye, it's a bit of charity works. Charity work. We've
also got to show a debut today. We've got Wally
On check him out on honest Beer's footy form guy.
He does it all. But thank you very much for
jumping on. Well, this is awesome, thanks for having me, guys,
great to be here.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
Forward, getting stuck in, I like, I don't really want
to talk about the Hawks games, so we will scan
over that. And I noticed that neither of us were
on it on the run sheet, which I think is
probably Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
I think we actually originally had one of you guys
on it, and then I was like, oh, they're gonna
be sad, so I'll cover most of it and then
I'll just push to you guys everything. It would be
a very negative postgame reviewer.

Speaker 3 (01:20):
I would also go for a minute, yeah, a minute,
two sentences seconds now we will cover that game, of course,
and every single game.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
Make sure you check out AFL Today on YouTube. Make
sure you hit the subscribe button, follow us on x Facebook, Instagram,
and TikTok. That's Ozzie Rules Today on Facebook and AFL
Today AU and all the rest of the socials for
more footy content all season long. All right, let's get
into it, lads, the ladder check. We're going to start
with ladder check. Of course, you got calling on top
of the ladder still thirty six points. Day easily got

(01:50):
through North Marble. That's nine and two. That healthy one
hundred and thirty two percent, got Brisbane Gold Coast and
now Kuwana are in the top four, which is very
handy for the Crows there they're very they're up about.
Then you've got fifth. You've got Geelong twenty eight points.
Also the Hawks dropping out of the top four.

Speaker 3 (02:04):
AADs, what I didn't move on my biggest stories hard
enough there is.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
Then you've got the Bulldogs slightly dropping but they will
still be a right I think in twenty four points.
In seventh. Eighth is the Giants. Their percentage is a
little bit below par, but they're still hanging on to eighth.
At the moment, you've got well, you're up the Frio
Dockers there in ninth, you've got essenon they're still hanging on.
They're still hanging on towards that top eight. Twenty four points.
In tenth now I'm the Melbourne Demons twenty points and

(02:31):
then you've got the rest. This is where it's getting
really tricky to make finals. There's a bit of a
drop here, so you've got Carlton, Sidney Euroroic the Saints
you are to pull to you the power all on
sixteen points and the percentage around other than Carlton is
a real worry for these teams trying to make finals.
Then you've got Richmond, North Melbourne and Wallatage Morara all
the way down the bottom there look not good for

(02:53):
the ones down the bottom. But I think I said
this the other week, I reckon the top eight is
close to being said. Oh my god, I said that
other Fred.

Speaker 3 (03:02):
We're not even halfway through the season. Of course, it's
not sets, That's God.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
No, I knew that would fire you up. Anyway. That
is the ladder check. Let us know how your team's
going in the comments. Let's get into the round eleven
results though. That's all we're here for. We're starting off
with Thursday night at GMHBA Stadium. It was Basball one.
Why not the Dog's taking on the Cats. Geelong twenty goals,
seven one hundred and twenty seven. What a score one,
Western woodlock sixteen at seven one hundred and thirteen. We'll

(03:27):
just put your right in the fire line. Well, you
got the first game beautiful, all right.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
So what we hoped for was electric finals like atmosphere
down there and we got it. And I think that
from the start with Cano putting the cane corns, putting
the Baiy Smith headband on our broadcast and a bit
of a chat with Bevo and all these there was
just a little bit little spot fires all over the place.
And then Bailey turned up. So it was fantastic in

(03:54):
terms of his performance for Geelong. He had the thirty three.
Him and Homes were great in the midfield. The twin
how was down forward. Now this is this is a
new pair that we're going to start talking about here
because Neil and Cameron combined for eleven goals. So Geelong
turned up in every facet and did with Gelong do,
which is make less mistakes in their opposition and play

(04:14):
good solid footy at home.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
So Geelong did everything they need to do. Baby held
up his end.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
I think the dogs let us down a little bit
with how they how they started this off. I wanted
to see, like our Beijing Games, Kobe through Powgasol run
through him and I don't I don't care if you
give away a free kick. I'm not talking about a
head high shot, I'm not talking about something. Just run
through his body. Kee him, split him down the center

(04:41):
and say, you know what you've been talking about us,
You're not with us anymore. I would have enjoyed that,
and we didn't get that. They didn't really go to him.
It was only late when him and Libert got into
a little bit of it. Well, I just wanted them
to tag him.

Speaker 1 (04:54):
I know that. I know it's not as simple as
that because they've got some big names, but I put
lib on him in for a quarter. He said to
the game that he was really nervous leading into this,
and then when he gets to the start of the game,
he's like, Oh, they're not really like hard tag at all.
If they tagged, didn't it would have gone a long way.
At this one couldn't agree more. Now.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
The other thing for the Dogs, the Dogs probably should
have won this game. They were so costly. They've kicked
sixteen goals seventeen they've had more inside fifties, and the
Cats have kicked twenty goals seven And that's why I
talk about the Dogs were making errors and a lot
of these were really gettable goals. Oh yeah, a lot
of them were right in front. And if you have
a look at the list of goalkickers and then you

(05:31):
have a look at the list of all the people
that kicked a lot of behind. They weren't knowed goalkickers,
so there was midfielders and halfbacks that were attempting to
hit the scoreboard and it was just not working. So
the inside fifties were not efficient. They didn't have an
efficient use of it, so that was really really poor.
All of that being said, and even the umpires just
getting involved again, Yeah, probably don't need to.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
We're not going to bother with that.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
No, what I will say, and I'm very keen to
hear your thoughts on this. I think that coming off
two losses in three weeks to the Gold Coast Sons
and to Geelong, that the Doggies are still in a
better position than either of them to win the flag
this year. And I would be more confident in them
winning the premiership. They went and played in opposition territory

(06:16):
in less favorable conditions with depleted sides against full strength sides,
and they arguably should have won both games. But if not,
they've got so close. Do you think Gold Coast at
the mcg are going to be able to do what
they did to the Dogs up in Darwin?

Speaker 1 (06:33):
Ye that's a very good of course, I'll give you.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
Then do you think that Geelong, when the Dogs have
a full strength team again, will be able to hold on?
And do we think the Dogs are going to kick
that badly again? And do we think that Gelong are
going to have such a high free kick count? For me,
we're talking about it. There was a couple of kicks
in this game. And I just think the Dogs are
setting up beautifully and they are going to build and

(06:57):
they're going to get the likes of it.

Speaker 1 (06:59):
Sounds like Dust is going to play in the backup year.
It's not back within the next which is insane.

Speaker 2 (07:04):
It's absolutely insane, which was probably a misdiagnosis by all
of us experts.

Speaker 1 (07:08):
Right, that looks really bad.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
But you add to that and you go the midfield
is scary and as good as geng r and as
good as Smith and Holmes is becoming a gun and
you hope they get danger back and all that. The Doggies.
The only midfield depth that can go with the Doggies.
I thinks Brisbane and we'll talk more about that, but yeah,
I genuinely think out of the three teams that have

(07:32):
played the last the last few weeks and the team
that's lost both games is the ones I want to
be on.

Speaker 1 (07:37):
Yeah, I just want to play Devil's advocates.

Speaker 3 (07:40):
We look at the Cats run home, they play the
Tigers twice, the Bombers twice, they play Ruse, Eagles, Saints
and Port.

Speaker 1 (07:46):
To me, that's all wings. They can get a lot
of lines at home.

Speaker 3 (07:50):
They play Sons at home, and I just think that
sets them up perfectly for the double chance. And I
don't think the Dogs will get the double chance. I
think they'll be just outside. And I think this is
experienced Cat side that's done it every bloody year every year.

Speaker 1 (08:05):
It's so frustrating.

Speaker 3 (08:07):
It'll just set themselves up to just have that extra
edge over the Dogs if it was if it did
come down to the flag, the Dogs are.

Speaker 1 (08:13):
The hottest I think the hottest team.

Speaker 3 (08:16):
While after the last two weeks, it's tough to say
because there were some good losses there, which doesn't happen
too often, but they were so.

Speaker 2 (08:24):
They were very, very good losses and the win in
the middle of them was emphatic. I will say this,
I do agree with everything you said, but a fixture gets.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
You into the finals.

Speaker 2 (08:33):
You have to be able to play for it to
win a Grand Final and I just think the Dogs
might have it. But only time will tag on that.
But oh, in all, it was a great game.

Speaker 1 (08:42):
I mean we just needed them to go to Bads
a bit harder. Oh yeah, I thought it was a letdown. Yes,
it really was. And I thought Maximams is one of
the goals of the year. It's going to be that.
That run down the wing was unbelievable. Yeah, all right,
Friday night at the MCG, dream time as always, Essendon
at Richmond, Essendon eleven goals five eighty one, Richmond eight
goals ten fifty eight. Leo, this is your one, Yeah,

(09:03):
this is my one.

Speaker 3 (09:04):
I thought this was a pretty even contest for most
of the game, and then the Bombers, their gun, sort
of took control of it in that second half.

Speaker 1 (09:11):
I thought it was pretty obvious that Richmond missed Bolta.

Speaker 3 (09:14):
I know he didn't have the greatest game against North,
but there were just a couple of balls out the
back that led to goals. A few of the goals
young Angus Clark, who will touch on, oh got I
think the opening goal of Nick Martin just got out
of the back, so they did miss Bolta.

Speaker 1 (09:27):
Yeah, pretty good during the week.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
Actually, well yeah, the big guys ly just if nothing
else structurally, it completely throws them out. They had the
book ends that weren't there a lot of experience and
all of that.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
But that was pretty good.

Speaker 3 (09:39):
Yeah, if you're a Richmond fan, you're leaving that going
like we could have won. Genuinely, I want to give
a shout out to you those stats guys, because you
predicted it on the Thursday Show that.

Speaker 1 (09:49):
Nick Martin would win the yuc And Medal. I should
put some money on it. That was I will take that.
He was unbelievable. He was definitely best on because Zach
Merrett lit up the statute, but he was just getting
cheap he stiff for Zakhmehrat.

Speaker 3 (10:01):
No, they put in a back pocket and he was
getting a lot of cheapies and some cheapist Yeah he
shoulders probably, yeah.

Speaker 1 (10:08):
Exactly, that's fair enough. But Nick Martin was awesome. Yeah,
thirty five disposals and two goals. I don't think many
have beaten that. Can I ask you your opinion on
this one? Are we did we miss a trick? There?

Speaker 2 (10:19):
Didss a trick by not having him spend more time
in the midfield.

Speaker 1 (10:22):
Yeah, spending so so much time up forward.

Speaker 2 (10:25):
I know, I know when he goe out, wasn't he Yeah,
And when he gets the ball, I know that he
has score board impact, which is fantastic. But this guys's
already one of the best priyers. Yeah, it's get him
in the mid I think, And he's he's a unit.

Speaker 3 (10:38):
Like he's built for he's got yeah, one hundred percent
of his body's already, he's not got a draft's body.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
He's he's scary. But yeah, they played him too like
you can start him forward because that I was like
a cool move, like just great, we're going to play
him for it. Great. But then when they were losing
the clearance, like they got smashed in the clearances two
weeks twenty plus clearances the other way for other bombers,
just put him in there long. I don't know what
they needed to. And he's unfortunately injured his hamstring now
I know, which sucks even more for Tigers. Mild apparently

(11:06):
not overly. That's good, which is pretty good. Maybe we'll
see Smiley.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
Yeah all arout Re injured himself for training, didn't he
Maybe not?

Speaker 1 (11:14):
Yeah, news, No, it's not IT'SMI. I also wanted to you.
Zach Merritt.

Speaker 3 (11:19):
We touched on it was awesome. Angus Clark three snags,
he brought some life. It's just a bit of a
feel good story. I did want him to get the
fourth when he was he had that flying shot of
goal about forty five out, but unfortunately at the post.
And I want to give a shout out to Archie
Roberts who had around thirty four disposals.

Speaker 1 (11:36):
But he's a very good outside player.

Speaker 3 (11:38):
For him, they've got a few of those, you know, McGrath, Redmond,
even Nick Martin to an extent, they're just adding another
one of.

Speaker 1 (11:43):
The he's learning off. Redmond have been a bit of
like a bit of dog in him and he loves
a chat. It loves a fight. Archie Roberts as well.
But I really like last month, he responds after Riley
West said he was too small as well, that Archie Robins. Yeah, yeah,
he's actually done well. You don't want to get.

Speaker 3 (12:00):
Told you too small from one of the layers and
that's brutal. And then for the Richmond side, I think
we've talked about every week. They're green shoots. Richmond's green shoots.
And on this week's edition, just a good shout out
for Sam Banks twenty nine disposals, using really well and
Cain McCaul i twenty one disposals. I sort of had
a knock on his efficiency, but you look at the statue,

(12:20):
it was eighty one percent. So just two little gems
coming through forum. So if you're a Tigers fan, just.

Speaker 1 (12:24):
Get a little happy about that. Their head of schedule,
aren't they? Yeah, absolutely yeah, because everyone had them. Well,
there's a lot of people had them zero wins. I
think if you us had a few different ideas, but yeah,
as a Richmond fan, you won't be two displeased. And
as a Bombers fan, you're just like happy days, Hey win,
take winn next week exactly right, all right, that is
dream time. Let's get into Saturday at Marvel Stadium. Carlton JWS.

(12:46):
This is Carlton twelve ten eighty two JWS seventeen eight
one ten, This is you, Wally.

Speaker 2 (12:52):
This was Carlton season in a nuts shell. This game,
I think, and we'll talk through that, but the story
here was Toby's two hundred and fifty outstanding. He just
loved this boke, and I think that the world has
gone full circle on him and they've come around going Yep,
we love Toby Green. I think the umpire is almost
I think that Toby Green rule is going away. Yeah,

(13:13):
he's not getting as many freezing no, no, I think
I think it was an even ledger of a few
age away, which is for him pretty good.

Speaker 1 (13:20):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (13:20):
He's had twenty eight. He's kicked three three, so he's
hit the score shed. He's had six clearances, he had
thirteen score involvements, so he was in everything. And you
could see the emotional showglate when he kicked a couple
of those guys like he was he really really enjoyed
it out there. I love that they they had the
guard of Honor and some of the others like Jess
Cameron was there was each brother an formal place.

Speaker 1 (13:43):
Yes, assume there mates what so radish he was a
bad boyfriend Green. That's funny. So the it was, it
was really it was a really enjoyable watch.

Speaker 2 (13:59):
So I think Charlie Kurno's game summed up Carlton's game,
and I say, like this, Kurno was up and about.
He's kicked two three in the first half and he
had one touch in the second half. Now, that one
touch was a goal and it got them within a
kick in that third quarter, so they had a little
bit to give. We've seen their second half have been

(14:20):
really bad.

Speaker 1 (14:21):
That a little bit to give.

Speaker 2 (14:22):
They got within a kick halfway through that third quarter
and we thought, hang on, maybe they're on here. And
then they just they just turned into Carlton mode. Gradually
just came apart and you're starting to you know, it's
bad when opposition supporters are feeling sorry for a Big
four club.

Speaker 1 (14:42):
So no, people might feel sorry. There is people. There
is people. There is people, and I'm one of them. Wow,
I've sat there.

Speaker 2 (14:51):
I sat there at the Hawks Carton game and then
I went to Carlton Collingwood and I had to watch
Carlton supporters go through it and I just felt for them.

Speaker 1 (14:58):
Well, they've got such a it's a good team they got.

Speaker 3 (15:00):
The list is like, I'm not at the depth, but
the actual stars, the stars are there, and it's sad.

Speaker 1 (15:06):
That would be so frustrating as a cult fan. But yeah,
it is brutal.

Speaker 2 (15:09):
But I think two questions for you is first one
I can't and done? Now are we happy to go?
We'll put a line from they're not playing finals are
four and seven, they're four and seven. And then you've
got like you look at the ones above might be
backing Melbourne and Freo who are above them right now,
to push towards the game rather than cartoon I know. Yeah,
when you look at something, you go, you're only two
games out. You're two games and percentage out. So you've

(15:30):
either got to win big or you have to win
three more games than all the teams above you.

Speaker 3 (15:34):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (15:35):
So that's the whole thing you have to do because
if you're not winning, you can't climb the ladder. So
it's not as easy as we're only two games out.
You need to find those wins against these these other
teams don't get it's not going to happen.

Speaker 1 (15:47):
So would you rule them out to I think so.
But they do play North and West Coast again, I believe,
which probably get per Yeah. My second question is.

Speaker 2 (15:59):
Are the Giants still a premiership threat when they're at
their best or do we just think that there's just
too many red flags?

Speaker 1 (16:05):
I think they are because they are missing some key pillars.

Speaker 3 (16:09):
They aren't They definitely, you know, you look at some
of the players that did play and their bottom six
I don't think is particularly great, but.

Speaker 1 (16:17):
They are missing some key players.

Speaker 3 (16:18):
I think they get them back have sort of a
like a really strong second half of the season.

Speaker 1 (16:24):
We know what the Wave can do, the Tsunami can do.
I still think at their best they can tell it
for a flag.

Speaker 2 (16:29):
I guess the fire up question is that do you
think they can sustain their best for a whole finals campaign?
Because every year we see whether it's a whether it's
a prelim, whether it's a qualifying final or a semi,
or whether it's on Grand Final day.

Speaker 1 (16:42):
In nineteen they find one too good. They lost five.

Speaker 2 (16:45):
Points to Collingwood in a year they probably would have
gone on and won that Grand Final. You would think
that way they were playing. Then they coughed up a
seven goal lead to Bridgebane.

Speaker 1 (16:53):
Like this is, I can't I can't trust them. I'm
not even sure for them. I'm not in on the premiership,
but they're still like I just really I'm not happy
with Toby Greeney finally does this, but was he going
to go back into his show next week just because
his two fifties big game? He hasn't been himself at
all and a lot of their players haven't tried any consistency,
even they're like big names. So I'm not I'm not sold.

Speaker 2 (17:15):
There's very few footballers that are able to sustain their
peak after two hundred and fifty games. True, so most
are not playing it their their absolute peak of their
career and two fifty plus unless you are a freak
and you are somebody like Pendlebury, Adam Goods, yep Berger
and these guys they still paid two fifty to three

(17:35):
fifty were amazing. Brent Harvey and Robert Harvey, great example.
Boomers could have played five hundred.

Speaker 1 (17:43):
But yeah, good well, good good win. They did what
they needed to do. They might feature a little bit later.
I was I was pretty impressive. No, absolutely all right,
Saturday at the MCG. I don't know if these lads
on the couch want me to talk about this one
Saturday night. Let me get to this one. Hawthorne Brisbane.
Hawthorne eight goals, twelve sixty Brisbane fourteen nine to ninety

(18:04):
three Brisbane. They break the Hawks curse of five straight
so the Hawks had five straight against him, and this
is a crazy start. The first time Brisbane had beaten
the Hawks at the mcg since two thousand and four.
I was four years old, yore years old, that is.
I had to double check that because that's unbelievable.

Speaker 2 (18:20):
How does that happen to make you going back to
the to their like three people or the four years
in the grand in the Grand Final, you had to
go that far back.

Speaker 1 (18:29):
Yeah, it was pretty amazing. Will you tell us how
you saw it? Yeah, well, Chuck you cameram with. I
thought was amazing. Obviously in the third quarter. He had
three goals in that third quarter. Three second quarter sorry
two minutes, yeah, sorry, second quarter, I've written down that
third but second quarter he was he was incredible. He
needed that to get going. I reckon he he talked

(18:51):
about his form. He's only gone at a goal a
game before this game, which is realble Obviously he's getting
a bit older kick in the gear now. But that
that was the difference. That was where they blew open
the game. It was only he what thirty odd points
in the end, and that was the difference one hundred percent.

Speaker 2 (19:03):
I turned to go and get a steak as a
bar I turned back around and I'm just what happened
is scoreboard mac cameras just kicked three in about a
minute and a half.

Speaker 1 (19:15):
Yeah, extraudinous, not what you want. Archie as well, I
think one of the most underrated players in the company.
He was so good four goals to twenty disposals. I
thought it was incredibly He could do no wrong. I
think he set up a lot of goals as well.
I thought he was amazing. The other side of it
that you touched him before Wall. The midfield depth and
dominance from the lines was unbelievable. They led the clearances
by seventeen. Obviously Nucom is the leader in there, but

(19:36):
as boys best man it was yeah, yeah, yeah, they
absolutely dominated. Eil was everywhere. They were breaking tackles. Will
As McCluggage the Asscroft bros.

Speaker 3 (19:45):
Yes, I thought when Rainer went through there was a
presence so like we just didn't have an answer, no, no,
so yeah.

Speaker 1 (19:52):
The score still diggestion was pretty close. Both teams liked
a bit of polish at the start. There wasn't too
many goals. I thought there was going to be a
few more goals in this one. Not getting reward for
inside fifth. Now I'm going to put a few questions
towards you guys as Hawks fans about this I put
my coaches had on thoughts on Hardwick playing forward for
most of the game. Do we think that he could
have gone to Cameron earlier? We just got go to

(20:13):
him as a backman because I think he is the
player that could have shut him down. That three gold
was the difference from Mark Cameron. See. For me, it's
a game to game thing.

Speaker 3 (20:20):
I think we missed a trick this game because Charlie
Cameron is obviously one of the best small forwards. I
think he had to play back. But I think when
you're playing aside that doesn't have that strong small forward
like saying Essendon North.

Speaker 1 (20:30):
But did they look at Charlie Cameron's form and go, oh,
we don't need to Yeah, But I.

Speaker 3 (20:34):
Think it's just one of those things where Charlie Cameron,
if he gets going like lines, are probably going to
win the game.

Speaker 2 (20:38):
Well. And the other thing was even if we'd have
gone to stop him, was too late because you just
did away damage in such a.

Speaker 1 (20:43):
Quick amount of time.

Speaker 2 (20:44):
Look for me, I still go back to the selection
table and go Kelsha did. Was never going to have
a good game. He was coming back. He's never had
a good game in Darwin hindsight we should have played
him this week and.

Speaker 1 (20:56):
Yeah, Darwin's a tough fixture for a bit.

Speaker 2 (20:58):
Even play him again, because they said he was omnute.
They were saying there was soreness, there's no management. I
think that that was what we missed for the first
time this year as well. Gunners looked Jack Gunston looked
just yeah, but Jack Pa had him on the lead. Yeah,
and it just just for the first time this year,

(21:20):
it looked like, oh, I don't think the game has
gone past him quick because so they could.

Speaker 1 (21:26):
Have kicked, but he didn't. He didn't, he didn't walk aroun,
he didn't present.

Speaker 2 (21:32):
I was yeah, I'll tell you what, playing a toll
on the whiz was the master strode. Yeah, actually playing
somebody with a bit of well, everyone's got more heart,
playing someone with more heart on it Watson.

Speaker 1 (21:45):
Actually it just worked and he was completely and he
was he was nowhere. The Lions had really good tactics.
I thought they were. They were just really good. I
think you guys called it. Actually Leo especially so they
might bounce back here because they've had a horrible month Brisbane.
I said on the show that I thought they had
no chance, but I think you called it. Yeah, and
then I tipped Hawthorn, so it makes sense. Yeah, that

(22:05):
makes sense. One more question for the Hawks fans. I
don't mind all being the utility. I thought he was
pretty slid. He had twenty three disposed as a goal.
The best player he Mitchell just puts him everywhere, like
wherever you need him. Do you guys mind that as
a fan or would you rather just be in the
one position. I'm okay with.

Speaker 3 (22:21):
Him playing anywhere because it hasn't really like hindered us. Yeah,
I still thought it was our best player, but I
it was great.

Speaker 1 (22:28):
Made errors.

Speaker 3 (22:29):
Yeah, there was that play in the third quarter running
down taking on Ryan Less, a couple of bounces and
I know guns and slipped in the square, but he
just kicked it straight to Jack pay and we had
a few options on.

Speaker 1 (22:38):
So he's got to work on that part of the game.
And I don't think that comes with the positional change.

Speaker 2 (22:42):
Fair Could I just say just on this too, because
we've spent a bit of a time on Hawthorn, which
I appreciate. Just go through that Brisbane, though they to me,
could not have been more impressive Brisbane.

Speaker 1 (22:54):
They have gone. This is how much a professional effort
that they've gone.

Speaker 2 (22:57):
We've been no good. We know we've been no good.
We're going to turn up to the MCG against the
team that we haven't beaten in years at a ground
that we haven't beaten them in twenty years. Their out
lost against gold Coast was the hors against gold Coast
was good. Ye, so it's fine. It wasn't like they're
coming off. I mean Brisbane lost to Melbourne which form
is being franked a little bit more and drew with

(23:19):
North Melbourne. So Brisbane companies in a shocking state.

Speaker 1 (23:22):
They came.

Speaker 2 (23:23):
They were professional, they took they kicked forty nine, so
they didn't have a huge amount of opportunity, but they made.

Speaker 1 (23:28):
The most of that. If they.

Speaker 2 (23:32):
If they can continue anything like this into the finals,
then they have the team, they have the game plan
and they have the experience to win the FAG.

Speaker 1 (23:40):
Yeah, this will give them confidence at the G again,
like if they face another good team at the G
as well, so they'll be fighter.

Speaker 2 (23:46):
I genuinely think it's them and another team that we're
about to preview. I think that will be a review. Sorry,
I think that'll be the Grand Final.

Speaker 1 (23:54):
Yeah, this could be their turning point, and there's just
shows that we sort of got it came under At
Brisbane they've just did a professional outfit.

Speaker 2 (24:00):
Still I still have question marks around Gold Coast and Johong.
I think the Brisbane Western Bolldogs and Colin would have
now gapped the field.

Speaker 1 (24:06):
I agree they're the three.

Speaker 2 (24:08):
Then I have a gap to Geelong and gold Coast
and then we can talk.

Speaker 1 (24:14):
Did the rest after that? I don't mind that. There
you go, So Brisbane awesome win at the MCG, broke
the curse at the MCG. Now let's get into a
break with Stocket Hayley. A quick question. Do you know
what the ASX means? Do you mean AFLX?

Speaker 2 (24:28):
No?

Speaker 1 (24:28):
Mate, the AX the Australian Stock Exchange. Oh man, I'm
clueless with that stuff. Well, lucky for you. Stockheed is
a free website that delivers news to people who want
to invest in stocks on the AX. Damn, that sounds
pretty good. Where do I check them out? Check it
out via stockhead dot com Dot you and even your
little p rain could understand that one. Damn all right?
Next one here Saturday night at Marvel Stadium, North Melbourne.

(24:51):
Nine goals, nine sixty three. Oh that breaks my heart.
Collingwood fifteen eighteen, one hundred and eight. Lea, you were
at this one? How to go? I go to my
weekly North game? Why you do this? Now? Look again? North?
They were in this got a time, very even game.

Speaker 3 (25:06):
I thought there was a clear and deliberate game plan
for once for North Melbourne where they wanted you know,
you control the clearance, you always do that, but you
actually wanted to play a bit of possession. You wanted
to play a bit of keepings off Collingwood, not let
them get the ball because as they get it, they're
going to pretty much score. Yeah, so I think you
killed them in the mark statistic. I just want to
pose a question, do you reckon? That tactic if you

(25:28):
do it for long enough, can actually be used against
Collingwood if you just keep the ball a bit because
as soon as it.

Speaker 1 (25:33):
Hits the ground, they're all over here. Yeah, some of
the better teams can execute it a lot better. So
we were North. We're trying to go in the middle
every time, and we just stuffed it up a couple
of times towards the end. Whereas if you get the
likes of dogs or hawks even could I reckon even
use that against the Pires, just a few more kicks
that are just hitting the target that it could work.

Speaker 2 (25:49):
The biggest issue you have against Collingwood is that are
so organized and so structured, so you have to be
perfect because it doesn't matter what eighteen are on the
field for them, they're just so organized. And that was
a great hallmark of their twenty ten twenty eleven team.

Speaker 1 (26:04):
Super organized.

Speaker 2 (26:05):
They were stacked with stars, don't get me wrong, but
super organized, super well coached. We're seeing that again. I
just look at them and go, do you know what
they did? They North Melbourne paid out of their skin.

Speaker 1 (26:16):
They were really good. Collingwood were held.

Speaker 2 (26:19):
And then all of a sudden they just found away.
Floodgates opened and then they get there. They get their
seven to seven goal win, like I mean, and that's
what they do. They get that forty forty five point win,
which is enough percentage against the team like North Melbourne,
and the show.

Speaker 1 (26:33):
Rolls on like they were uber impressive. And I don't
I reckon.

Speaker 2 (26:38):
If every team in the AFL played their best footy tomorrow,
they would be very very very hard to be.

Speaker 1 (26:44):
They might be, they might have gone back past Bridge,
but like even when they're not at their best. They
getting forty five. It was very similar forty five point wins,
like even very similar to the Essendon game where ssidence
sort of we in the game for most of it
and then the piss just their fitness took over as well.
They always just know how to find another level.

Speaker 3 (26:58):
And Nick Dakos, like everyone raves about him, but seventeen
disposed in the last quarter. He didn't do much at
all before that, had a big last quarter sort of quarter.
In the last quarter and a half he just stood
up and North had no one to go with him.
I think it showed leadership beyond his years. I know
it's only North Melbourne, but like the step up games
on the line.

Speaker 1 (27:18):
Very impressive on that about no one going with him.
I'm filthy with Clarko. You've got to play Will Phillips.
Will Phillips dominated against him last year. I don't care
if he plays one game this year. He would have
helped a lot if he went on DACS.

Speaker 2 (27:30):
I asked the question on this, is there an issue
with will Phillips being able to sustain that for four quarters?

Speaker 1 (27:35):
He held him for three quarters and took him off,
so he was coming back from injury.

Speaker 2 (27:40):
That is, he susceptible to blowing up. I don't think
many people Dekos is fair. Everyone talks about how good
of a trainer is, that he's super fit. He would
be very very hard to go with. How can imagine.
I'm not acceleration is insane.

Speaker 1 (27:53):
It's nuts. I just think that that's fine. But I
agree start with that up. Yeah, I just don't like
we didn't have a plan against like he didn't do
that much because I think we held him pretty good,
like war dogs on him for We got a few
tackles on him and things like that. But I needed
to play Will films. I just reckon.

Speaker 3 (28:07):
Even if he did play him or had to tack he,
his bodyguard, Ned Long would have been like, no, mate,
I'm going to escort Nick into the fifty years. He's fantastic.
Twenty nine disposals, forteen tacklings.

Speaker 1 (28:18):
Time for me. Well, he was at Hawthorne, so we
know him well. I followed him around. I wanted him
to him around.

Speaker 3 (28:25):
He stalked in the streets of box. Apologies, Ned the
streets of box. That's actually not the first sport personally.

Speaker 1 (28:33):
You stalked. Ji Richardson on cricket. Today's that's it.

Speaker 3 (28:36):
We can't talk about that restraining order. But look, he
his knock was his ball use and he's kicking, but
he used it superbly. In fifteen score involvements for an midfielder.
You don't ever see those numbers. He's got to be
the most in the conversation for most improved players.

Speaker 1 (28:50):
And massive amount of tackles.

Speaker 3 (28:52):
Yeah, forteen tackles he was wins the ball and he's
there for the tackle as well.

Speaker 1 (28:57):
Absolutely awesome, very very impression.

Speaker 2 (29:01):
Yeah, I'm wrapped for ned that it's going well and
it's just another they've just found another one. Yeah, it's
what they do down to John Collingwood seem to do
it as well. They just find these payers or they
get payers in and they get the most out of them.

Speaker 1 (29:14):
Like they're not going to be absolute supersized looking like
a superstar. But he doesn't need to be that Dey
cost level. He was that he was, but he might
not only he might not have fit into the system
as well. I don't know that was Josh Kennedy. I
don't want to talk about that. I want to go
down this road. That were really good defensively. Paul Curtis
that he's first came back. But Quena was really good,

(29:34):
really solid on him, like he couldn't even Billy Frampton
again two weeks in a row. He's been really solid.
I think some of the forward entries from North were costly.
War Laws tackles were very solid. But he needs to
be a lot cleaner. North need to be a lot
cleaner overall? Is there frustration as a North fan?

Speaker 2 (29:48):
We spoke about asking us is there frustration of a
North fan where you go to watch your team and
you don't know where your players are going to be playing?
And even more so, they're players that are midfielders. My
defenders like they should be playing a position.

Speaker 1 (30:05):
So how do you I think had a lot of
time forward sheesel. I'm not sold as him as a forward.
He's not going to kick goals. I just drafted as
a forward, I know, but he has he doesn't kick goals,
So I'm really I think we're playing a lot of
players in the wrong. Would you just have shites on
the midfield? Put him in the midfield. He has a
tank like Dak. I'm not saying he's anywhere need decos yet,
but like Dak, loss he's pretty good. It's pretty good.
But yeah, we needed to just put him in the

(30:25):
midfield'd rather just put our best player in the midfield.
I know we're already still winning a lot of the clearances,
but I think we are playing a few players in
the wrong. Yeah, which absolutely all right, Colin. We've got
the job done there again, not put up a strong fight,
but they got the job done. Saturday night, the other
one at Opta Stadium. This is my one while you're up.
The Frio Docers fifteen goals, ten one hundred YATAPULTI the
port Adelaide Power seven goals, nine point fifty one. They've

(30:47):
absolutely smoked me here. Look, I was on Tracy watch
on my big call. I caught him for six goals
and he's got a big fat dome. We played, he
got twelve dispersals, I'm pretty sure. So he didn't play,
but he was no and he didn't even need it.
But they's got a hundred points lads without Tracy kicking
a goal. Was wet, but I couldn't believe that. I'm

(31:07):
absolutely shocked. I was the same. I was big on him.
It's like a.

Speaker 2 (31:12):
Good tool forward against Port out of it usually means
a bag. Yep, absolutely not just it was just it
was ridiculous. They didn't even they didn't need him, So
they had the rising stars stepped up. He had Murphy Reid.
I wanted to pose that question, so we had four goals.
Is he up there in the rising Star? I think
Ashcroft is obviously can win it. I don't think he
can win it. But top three, i'd say at the
moment you would take him, I think that you're still

(31:34):
there's there's obviously, or there's Harvey Langford and so I
reckon and that Ashcroft and those three probably just ahead
of him.

Speaker 1 (31:44):
Is this one of the best drafts? Actually just a
bit of an impromptu you want? This is a good draft?
In my opinion, it's like they've all started really well.
I'm telling you right now.

Speaker 2 (31:51):
Richmond's got a couple is Taj Hotton and we spoke
about smiling earlier.

Speaker 1 (31:57):
Those there's heaps of him. But those two were both
they they were both talk.

Speaker 2 (32:03):
Around those before the draft, saying these could be too,
these could be the best, this could be the best
player in the draft. That sort of chat. But injuries
and things crept in. So it'd be interesting to see
how that comes out. But this draft, it's right, mate,
it is looking like a super draft long term, like
we've had years.

Speaker 1 (32:19):
Where the big the drafts aren't kicking four, they're not
having thirty plus disposals, where that's happening every game is
having that rising start doing really well.

Speaker 2 (32:26):
The four guys we just mentioned there could have won
other rising star years. Yeah, that's that's when you know
it's a really really strong year. Absolutely are the power.
They started really strong in this one.

Speaker 1 (32:35):
In the wed I was thinking, oh, maybe the wet
conditions might suit to me because Frere they just like
to blaze away. But the Dockers speed of fitness just
absolutely took over. The Power actually had more inside fifties,
more tackles, They led a lot of the stats, but
the power were just so the Dockers were so efficient.
Heading forward. Luke Jackson, I got to talk about him,
he was everywhere. It was like an extra midfield for
a ruckman. Unbelievable twenty one disposals, eight clearances, awesome goal

(32:58):
from the pocket. He's just stepped up and I just
want to see him do something like that almost every
week because here's the reason they can get bigger with
Sean Darcy doesn't play if sewn, Yeah that do they
just need to get rid of Well. I think at
this day Jackson might be the one leaving.

Speaker 2 (33:11):
So yes, would you do the straight swap picket for
Jackson if you I was free, I would.

Speaker 1 (33:16):
If I was Melwourn, I wouldn't. If you know anyway,
you just accept it. Yeah, you might have to. Yeah,
it's not a bad it's not ideal, but I think
Cozy is going to have a better career. It depends
what they sort of both need. Yeah, because I would
need Cozy, I reckon more than more than Yeah. We

(33:37):
saw that today. Yeah, we saw that. Absolutely. Rory Atkins
bit of a random one. He turned back the clock.
He's played for the first time I think in at
least a year and a half. He had have twenty
five disposals, seven marks. I haven't heard the Rats name
in the long. It used to be the super Coach
player him getting a mentioned on this show. It was
not really well the power. So he stepped up without Jason,
old friend. He said, who's going to step up?

Speaker 2 (33:58):
And he did.

Speaker 1 (33:59):
I don't. I didn't even know he was going to
play yet, Oli Wines. He was solid. He had thirty
three disposals, but the nine turnovers fifty percent efficiency, that's
not good enough. I think he's a bit he's a
bit past it. Olie once Yeah, lockhead because they had
the legohead. They call him the other one. Zamat fine girl.
You've also got Cooper Simpson another got fifty three thousand

(34:20):
people brought him in in super coach. I forgot to
do it, so I'm really happy about And he's done
an ac joint injury which is brutal. And then the
big discussion point Alex Pierce, Now I want to get
your opinion on this one. That's Darcy burn Jones. They're
going at a contest. Darcy Burn Jones has gone back
with the flight. Alex Peace has taking him out while
he's trying to go for the mark as well. Both
eyes on the footy and he's so far he's got

(34:41):
given three matches. He's got given three matches. I think
that is a joke. It just came out really okay
that that is ridiculous.

Speaker 2 (34:46):
If his eyes are on the footy, yes, and he's
going to mark the ball, so he's not choosing to
bump yep.

Speaker 1 (34:52):
Then I don't know what we're asking this. So they
were saying duty of care on Pierce's end, But if
you're going back with the floor, I want to see
the ruling on his If you're gone back with the flight,
there's no duty of care for yourself. You just got
to let the guy market. Yeah, it so to let
Port have a shot and go. We can't hit him. Yeah,
I don't understand this one. There's been like to the
Paul Curtis one that I went off about on this show.
This one, I think is almost worse, just because Pearce

(35:14):
was clearly gone for the footy, and as a footy act,
if he didn't go for the footy, the coach is
going to give him a spray, okay.

Speaker 2 (35:19):
So what we might have here is a scenario where
they've gone, okay, we're going to err on the cautious
side by giving him three because of the results of
the accident, and there's accidents happen. The fact that we're
spending people based on the outcome as opposed to the
intent is ridiculous.

Speaker 3 (35:36):
To fix it up.

Speaker 2 (35:38):
I'm hoping this one just gets overturned. I'm hoping this
is one of the ones where on appeal they go
all right, look, we've seen it, we can see the vision.
We're going to use common sense for once.

Speaker 1 (35:46):
We haven't had one. I reckon, we've had one or
two of those. But there's always there's always a collision
of some description.

Speaker 2 (35:52):
It's very rare that the person has their eyes fixed
on the ball and is attempting to mark I don't
think we've seen anything like that.

Speaker 1 (35:58):
True.

Speaker 2 (35:59):
So hopeful little bit of common sense, Yeah, hopefully it is.
I have a question to fire back at YouTube. If
you were Kenny Hinckley, would now be the time that
you would walk away and say thanks good and do
it yourself on your own court. I don't think he will,
but because I genuinely would walk tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (36:16):
If they continue on this path, I think at least
the last month he should because it will help Josh
justin for next year. I think if he hasn't been
so not just they're going to play a coach, Yeah, Josh,
if he has a month running in for next season,
I think that will help. And I reckon they'll be
discussing that so when they.

Speaker 3 (36:36):
Make the showdown his final game, and they'll they'll get
up for it because they're not an emotion emotion.

Speaker 1 (36:43):
What do you think. I don't.

Speaker 2 (36:45):
I think that the season's gone and they're going to
run it into the ground and he's going to leave
and it's it's going to have just left a bit
of a tainted and again these things do not work.

Speaker 1 (36:54):
Yeah, they're on track for their low. It never worked.
I don't want that fair call, all right, But going
to Sunday Sunday Fundays calls at Adelaide over Kawana the Crows.
That's nineteen goals fourteen, one hundred and twenty eight. Another
huge score from the Crows. Walatage at Maraua. That's Eagles
eight goals fourteen in a curd again, sixty two low.
This is your bit of cromination for commination afternoon. How

(37:17):
long the second half?

Speaker 3 (37:18):
Cromination thought of about thirty seconds ago. Eleven goals to
three in that second half. They just absolutely blitz them.
We talked about the Adelaide forwards. We thought Thriller would
have a big game two goals three, but it was
Raschelley the Smalls.

Speaker 1 (37:29):
They did it. Five goals.

Speaker 3 (37:31):
He was superb in that second half. And they've got
a few goals from mids Dawson with two Petling and Barry.
I thought that was the best game Berry's played for Adelaide.
He was great in the midfield, was awesome and Peteling
been one of the recruits of the season.

Speaker 1 (37:43):
So they chimed in from the midfield. And I also
want to give a shout out to Riley O'Brien in
the run. It doesn't get a lot of recognition, but
he's a role playing ruckman and he goal. He tounled
up Flinny, poor Flinny.

Speaker 3 (37:55):
And a few weeks we had a tough few weeks
for the eight in disposals forty five and a goal.

Speaker 1 (38:02):
Not bad for for Riley o brian. Probably one of
the smartest players in the AFL. He's got a doctor. Yeah,
he's pretty. He's very smart, and he's got a hole
in one not that long ago as well. He's good everything.
He's just good. It's not the most good. How many
goals as he kicked?

Speaker 3 (38:15):
I'm trying to find how many goals he's fourteen goals
and one hundred and thirty one games, so would have
played more games than it.

Speaker 1 (38:21):
There we just ten percent, so we're just over, I
should say just to one.

Speaker 3 (38:25):
On this war.

Speaker 2 (38:26):
The Waterman injury was so hopefully I don't see how
there is, but hopefully there's some sort of good news
coming out of that because he's the exact sort of
thing that they need out there on the park for confidence.
And let's be honest, he's great for the game and
I think we all love him. Yes, so I think
it'd be great to get him. So just for Brocklyn, Yes,

(38:47):
you have to address he was very very good. Believes
we don't want to bring this stuff, mate. Do you
think we want to get people with questions about why
we were bad?

Speaker 1 (38:55):
I want And still he loved him.

Speaker 3 (38:58):
He's a little pocket rocket now. He played his best
game for West Coast. Young is around sixty disposed. It
was a goal I think left a couple out there
with a couple behind. But he's just a little spark
in that forward line, always does the right thing when
he gets the ball.

Speaker 1 (39:10):
He doesn't really make a mistake.

Speaker 3 (39:12):
And the Eagles as well as a whole fifty five
inside fifties, so they were getting the ball in there,
which I think is a really good thing for such
a young midfield. But they just couldn't quite convert, which
is obvious in that second half.

Speaker 1 (39:23):
You've got a top two, top three, five inside fifties
away from home.

Speaker 2 (39:26):
That's that is a huge positive, very very quick question
for you. Yep, Rachelley's game with a two key forward
four line as opposed to the three.

Speaker 1 (39:39):
Usually is that?

Speaker 2 (39:40):
Is that another sign that maybe we go just to
the two and maybe Text isn't part of the finals
playing this year? Possibly he's been pretty good though for
the first time. Yeah, it's more I mean you could
leave Fog out. I mean, I'm not saying yeah, but
is it time to go to a two two tall
forward lines for three three headed monster?

Speaker 3 (40:01):
I think I'd stay with the three grand Monster, but
if it's if it's raining, then you obviously wouldn't go
with three toy with the condition and he takes the
one you leave out. I think Text would be and
I think Text is the one. I don't think he'd
play next year, like I think he'd retire.

Speaker 1 (40:14):
You'd probably recond.

Speaker 3 (40:15):
Yeah, you'd probably get the two headed monster next year.
And Luke Peddler your fan favorite, yes, which is I
haven't talked about him for at least this is sort
of ancient areas for this show, but he played and
he can play a little bit of a third tall forward.
I don't know, he's a bit undersized in that regard,
but yeah, they've got there're no shot of options down there.

Speaker 1 (40:34):
Yeah, they've got so much. You've got problem to have.
Absolutely great win for Kawana and the Eagles. Yea solid
and inside fifties. It just could have got a few
more goals there, so that one is a good win
by the Crows, all right, Sunday mcg Melbourne demon's numb.
That is nineteen goals seventy one hundred and thirty one
against Sydney twelve goals eight seventy eight. They've absolutely smoked

(40:54):
to me, Wally the gee geez, what's going on there? Now?
This was an interesting game.

Speaker 2 (40:59):
Both plenty to play for, both teams that low on wins,
but everyone believes may have a future in the back
half of the season. Melbourne starting to tear their straps
now after a great went up in Brizzy. Sydney will
get payers back in weeks to come. The game started
with just por dispose on both sides and what happened
is Melbourne were the first ones to settle down a
little bit and get their efficiency in order. In that

(41:22):
second quarter and it was Track, it was Picket, Oliver
applying pressure, Gorne creating opportunities, getting freeze, Brire having getting
shots on goal and creating in that forward fifty all
of those things.

Speaker 1 (41:36):
So they're big players. Really were the ones.

Speaker 2 (41:39):
That got them going, which is which is so important
you want and especially on the other side of the
corn in Sydney where the only two players that ever
get them going are Heini and Warner, and they were
good without being great. Warner had a good game. Look,
Cosey was the difference. Very interestingly with Cosey Picket, he's
his averages against the Swan eight and a half disposals

(42:01):
and less than a goalie game, so in terms of
rankings eighteenth he performs worse against Sydney than any other
team in the competition in both of those categories. And
he's coming and twenty four and kicked five goals four
He's incredible.

Speaker 1 (42:16):
I don't know if that's not.

Speaker 2 (42:19):
He was the difference and look, he was super impressive
and then they all got involved. Track got involved. It
was his two hundred game. Great to see him happy,
celebrating with Clarie like they're up and about Salem. He
got a goal, fridge, kick goals, everybody, all of their
stars contributed to this win. And Cosey was there was

(42:39):
the head go on with track and it was it
was brilliant. So they got their kicking efficiency back over
that seventy percent, which you really want to see it in.
Sydney's did not leave the sixties all games, so they
continued to make errors and turn the ball over that
they have a grossly undermanned fall on line at the
moment again it was it was a nightmare down there's

(43:04):
not a forward line.

Speaker 1 (43:04):
I've got guys that don't play forward usually no handling, handling.

Speaker 2 (43:08):
I will say this though Melbourne one knock on Melbourne
the second quarter they I thought they might kick themselves
out of this.

Speaker 1 (43:14):
They had twenty three to five.

Speaker 2 (43:16):
Inside fifties, so it's the biggest differentially in inside fifties
or the second biggest that Melbourn's ever had its Cup.
They were saying on the broadcast they kicked three goals
eight and the Swans still managed two goals straight from
their five. So I was like, that's the sort of
thing where you worry you come back after half ten
you're having.

Speaker 1 (43:31):
A respond They responded really well they ran it out.
Melbourne's going to be a fun team to watch.

Speaker 2 (43:36):
I don't know if they can make the finals, but
if someone is to come from outside the eight, I
think it's them and Free.

Speaker 1 (43:41):
Oh yeah, Agre's the ones presenting. Yeah, yeah, absolutely, I
agree with that absolutely. All right. That was at the
mcg on Sunday. That's let's go to the last game.
This is at Marvel Stadium, euro the Saints Saint Kilda
eight goals thirteen sixty one, couldn't get the job done
over Gold Coast twelve goals, eight eighty. This is this
is a win it He hates Marvel Stadium, as he's

(44:02):
mentioned before in the press conferences. It's actually second win
in his last eleven there and I think there's a
real confidence boosting win for the Suns. I know it
wasn't amazing, but just to get the job done after
coming back from Darwin it's very tough over there, and
getting a win at Marvel, which there were one and
four under Dimmer, it's a good win. It's a good
win for the neo babies. Ross called the Gold Coast

(44:23):
times before. He's just saying whatever he wants. I think
as he's gotten older like the last two years, he
says absolutely whatever he wants. He can get away with
any Can you love it? Yeah, I feel like if
another coach said that might cop a bit from the
media on might cop a bit they love him when
the media, I reckon, he can't say whatever he wants.
Noah Anderson, he was everywhere, thirty six disposals, eleven clearances.

(44:45):
Thought that was probably his best game of the season.
I thought he was unbelievable. Cooper Sharman Leo always talks
up Cooper Sharman on this show. He could have a
big day. Three. Yeah, was my surprise of the week.
Was Oh there you go, Yeah, there we go. Yeah,
three goals three It could have had a big day'.
That's what's letting down the Saints. There's a few guys

(45:05):
that just are kicking straight. They actually had the same Sorry,
they had more scoring shots than goal coos at the
end of the game.

Speaker 3 (45:11):
So the third quarter they just keep blowing chances. Yeah,
so the third quarter shots and goalans just kept missing
one goal.

Speaker 1 (45:16):
Six they kicked in that third quarter, Which was going
to say the Suns they were really good at the
midfield and were dominating that area. But then they get
it back on the counter attack. Naswagny Miller was pretty solid,
Sinclaer was sold. They were going forward, but then when
you kicked one goal six in the third quarter, the
offense isn't firing. Higgins I don't even think got a
goal in the end, miss one like which is very
unlike him. It's not I'm not going to blame it

(45:36):
on him because he's had a great year. But it's
just their forward line. Is that is that what we're
going to write it down to, Well.

Speaker 3 (45:41):
It's their forward line, but also like their midfield and
defense is just sort of stock standard. So when the
Suns are obviously I think a class your outfit in
those areas, so they're going to have patches of play
where they get on top, and when they get on top,
they're going to kick goals. So when the Saints do
happen to get on top, they can't kick goals because
their forward line.

Speaker 1 (45:58):
That's the problem. I think they're back on pretty good.

Speaker 2 (46:00):
I mean they Wilkie Sinkle comes out of there, and
then you've got Nas as well, who is if he's
not the best half back, was right up there. And
I think they're really but you're not You're not wrong there.
They still miss king up forward and even though people
some people go on, maybe he's not the answer, it
doesn't matter that they need presence him present, and that's
going to make Jack Jack Higgins life a lot easier.

Speaker 1 (46:22):
But then there's others.

Speaker 2 (46:24):
They give us a game or two and then they
go back into into their shell.

Speaker 1 (46:28):
So I don't know. I thought the Saints were They're
going to hate this.

Speaker 2 (46:32):
I thought they were galling in defeat, and I think
that they're probably sick of hearing that sort of stuff exactly,
so they want different results. But I also don't think
that they thought this was their year and they're going
to have games like this where they play well and
lose by a few kicks. They have games that they
get a win, and they're gonna have games where they
get pumped. They just need ongoing improvement and they just

(46:54):
need to sign nas.

Speaker 1 (46:59):
Don't need to worry about But it signed Nash I
could because he's an absolute thirty five disposers had and
the Suns. I know that they didn't win by that much,
but that's just a big confidence boosting win after a
tough few weeks as well. So they lost the Richmond
there and they're back into the top four as well,
so they'll be loving that. All right. That's all the
around eleven results. We've gotten through those on Let's get
into the tipping results. Leo, what the hell are you doing? Mate?

(47:22):
Let me just check five this week, stoppa. They got
next week? They are there any chance?

Speaker 2 (47:29):
The alarming one for me here was that you tip
the Blues. That was the one that Marvel.

Speaker 1 (47:36):
I just thought they had it. There's no I could
have just said nine because there's no evidence of what
what I did.

Speaker 2 (47:41):
Yeah, well they actually got three, my missus were I
honestly thought Hawthorne to be Bridsbane and I thought I
thought the Dogs would go down and beat the cats.
But Geelong just that's that's my fault. Tipping against Geelong
at home is just egg all over my face.

Speaker 1 (47:58):
That's all good, stupid. Yeah, so I've got seven. Way
were given seven as well, and Marcus had seven. I'll
take a seven. It wasn't the easiest week, but yeah,
stopped giving. Saints have d's at Trager Park. Lock it
in that to win. I don't know about that. These
are very sold going off the Saints forever. Oh, geez.
We want to talk about the Big Call results as well.
So I had Josh Tracy for six, he's got zero.

(48:18):
I thought at least kicked three. What has gone on there?
At least hit the scoreboard. Leo has gone Laki and
Curtis seven plus, I think they. I thought that was
going to be a gold fest. And Marcus was the
closest on the Big calls. Eagles score less than forty
five and sixty two. Not a great week for the
Big Call. That's all right, bounce will bounce back next week.
I reckon, We'll be all right. So let's get into
the last two bits here, best on ground of the week.

(48:39):
We've given this one to Leo. He's the brains over there, apparently.

Speaker 3 (48:43):
All right for one vote and Martin thirty five disposal,
two goals, you can medal winner.

Speaker 1 (48:49):
It was just a class above.

Speaker 3 (48:51):
Yeah, the middle two votes t Green, I reckon, that's stiff.
I reckon, it's he's coming.

Speaker 1 (48:58):
Three twenty eight disposals, three goals. It was just vintage.
Toby was fifty. It was great to watch and good
to see him perform that way after a month of
sort of poor bit of criticism as well. Yeah, a
bit of pressure on him.

Speaker 3 (49:12):
Three votes, k Pickett, twenty four disposals, five goals, left
a couple out there. As you mentioned, Walley, he was
the difference in the game.

Speaker 1 (49:21):
Deserves the three.

Speaker 3 (49:22):
There were a lot of people like I thought, yeah,
was up there, Norana said ned Long because I have
a bit of a soft spot for him.

Speaker 1 (49:29):
Jaz a kick six, Bailey Smith. You could even argue
there were so many people, but I gave it to
pick it. No fair cool, that's fair enough, too, fair enough,
all right, full credit best team of the round. We've
given this one to Whalley on his first show. You
can have this segment, MATEO was the best teams of
the round.

Speaker 2 (49:45):
So I'll just I would just say that I it
was a tough round to pick this because there was
a lot of teams that had to win and did win.
So the likes of a Collingwood in Melbourne that really
needed those wins and got the job done, I left
them out. I've gone with three teams who were contending
for the pointy end and I just think that they

(50:05):
had They all had three very important wins. One vote Cats, Yes,
a little lucky that the dogs sort of like let
them in the game a lot more than they sure have.

Speaker 1 (50:16):
And then they took that advantage and they ran with it.

Speaker 2 (50:18):
They won at home. They did a great job. Batty
Smith was awesome. They're setting themselves up for another top
four finish. Dammit, they just give someone else again. No,
no jokes, like cats, they get one other weeks. They
could have got three. Two for me, the Giants. The
Giants came here, they needed to win. There was a
lot of three, so they Toby Green has done so
much for that footed they owed him and I.

Speaker 1 (50:39):
Love the way they did it.

Speaker 2 (50:40):
Come and did come a couple of times at them,
and then they just put them away and I was
really really impressed.

Speaker 1 (50:45):
And for me, three votes With the Lions.

Speaker 2 (50:46):
This is the first time in maybe all year that
we've seen the lines and go, oh, they can go
back to back. They and I know we've all said
that because they were winning without looking good. So we're like, oh,
the lines are banking wins, they're not looking good. Oh
they can go back to back. No, No, we saw
what they did to a team that's trying to go
top four themselves. And Named Barriss talks on the MCG

(51:09):
where Grand Finals are one Brisbane for me went straight
back into fag like calculations is a very real possibility.

Speaker 1 (51:16):
So I give the lines three votes. No, we might
need you on there every week for that. That was
very good reasoning. Sometimes yeah, it may put accident in
there Melbourne about that one. All right. That will do
