Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Around twelve preview for AFL Today is here, Leo,
what are you looking forward to?

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Well, I'm not looking forward to it, but my beloved
Hawks playing Collingwood Friday night.

Speaker 1 (00:07):
It's said to be great. Can Guinea step up against
his old mob?

Speaker 3 (00:10):
I'm looking at not only why Max Gorn could but
should win the Brownlow Medaliz.

Speaker 1 (00:15):

(00:36):
They're already bit touchy feeling Marcus Barzan his back. I
don't know what's going on with his car, but he
is he How you what's going on in my car?
Is that is getting folded in half right now? Breaking
bad style? Oh geez, I would like to see you
follow that, Leo, and half as well? Does that mean
just an a wrestling match? That's all? That's Yeah, that'd
be good. Another awesome show as we dive into the tips, matchup,

(00:57):
stats and debates. We've got the Locks big call, so
we're going to get some big calls right this week.
I reckon, Yeah, now we will and the Locks. I
think we got it right Marcus and myself. Leo's one
was void, Yes, so I think I think he should
do a punishment. No, we're not going to do a
punishment till the end of the season. When we tell
you my fine, I'm going on a date with your Marcus, God,

All right rounds. While I was here, lads, here we go.
It's a big round as well. Round twelve previous Thursday
Night footy. We love it. We absolutely love it, except
if you or I don't know about the Esident fancy

(02:01):
here but Brisbane versus Essident Thursday night, seven thirty at
the Gabba. Know this is your one, this.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
Is my one, and I think the biggest talking point
is the injuries to the Essen and back.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
Rude, isn't it. No Zach Ray, no Ben McKay obviously
been without Ridley for four.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
Weeks now, three weeks now, and then no Lewis Hayes
as well going down injured.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
So you can't pick anyone in the mid season draft either,
which I think is a bit of a farce. I
think you should be allowed to or we can pick
four of them, we just can't play them. Yeah, that's yes,
So that's what I mean. I think that's a bit
stupid from the AFL. I think you should be allowed
to play them. Yeah, surely you can. You can play them.
Straight away, like it's you you. I was gonna say,
I own the player, you pay the money. You're paying
them money straight away anyway. So yeah, I guess it

(02:41):
because of like different things they have to sign or
like build up into the AFI.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
I don'n't know who knows. It's probably a deeper meaning.
But I want to give a question to the panel. Oh, okay,
how ruthless with considering these Essendon injuries? How ruthless do
we think Brisbane are going to be at home? Considering
last time they lost to Melbourne at the Gabba. They're
coming off probably the best win of the season Brisbane,
whereas Essendon is sort of just going along.

Speaker 1 (03:06):
How ruthless can they be at home? I think they
have to bounce back. Well, they don't have to bounce
at home. Obviously they lost to the Demons, but they
had the best performance of the season obviously last week,
and I think this is where they hit their stride
towards the back end of the year. This is where
they hit September really strong and obviously stake their claim

(03:27):
for obviously the double chance and home finals. Yeah, I
think the big win last week will be like, oh crap,
we're actually really good, Like they might have lost a
tiny bit of confidence. I know they won the flag
and things like that, but they'll be like, oh, we're
actually really good. We're gonna just come out here and
absolute smart. I think they think that was the flick
of the switch last week because that's a huge win
against Hawthorne and they just needed that. Like even if
they beat some of those team, like if they just

(03:48):
beat Melbourne, they even if they got over North, at
least they know they're winning and they've got that win
against Hawks. I reckon, they'll be right. Yeah, it was
a complete performance, wasn't it. Is this the dangerous thing
of you know, can they get up this game because
Brisbane Brisbane and tazzy. Yeah, they sort of underwhelming their
Thursday night footy though, Thursday night footy playing against a

(04:09):
depleted essenon side where they are dollar five favorite. You
could get a job in that done in the back line,
I reckon, Marcus, I don't quite crack the one seven,
so I don't qualify. Oh that's right, that's not what
your Hinge profile says. Yeah, well Hinge PROFILESOS six to
six two measurements. Yeah, anything as leon on this one.

(04:29):
I question essen scoring power on this one. So yeah,
I think.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
Marcus you raised that it's not the best record when
it comes to kicking eighty points this season.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
No, I just think in general kicking and winnable score
for the Bombers, they've only kicked eighty points or more
on two occasions since Round two. And that Round two
game was kicking one hundred points in a ten goal
loss to Adelaide, So yeah, and the other one was
Richmond right on the weekend.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
And the other one, well, Richmond eighty one and then
there was also Yeah, I think we more script coming
exactly who the other one was against. But but yeah,
even against some poor opposition, you're not close a few times. Also,
kicking a winnable score against Brisbane at the Gabba looks
like it's not going to be not going to be done.
And then as well as keeping them to a minimal

(05:16):
score if they do like look to cause an upset
with defensive injuries and defensive words that you mentioned, either
either or is not looking great.

Speaker 1 (05:24):
No, I got to start on that. You've got Brisbane
who was the fourth ranked defense and then the sixteenth
ranked offense, which backs up the state of the the
eighty points. They're like, that's a real wiry like you
obviously got to worried in defense, and then you've got
the worries on offense like Peter Right, he needs to
step up. He needs to step Cad he's been solid.
I like to Taco as well, Taco A young players
got to be too. It would just be good to

(05:46):
watch if he kicked you. Yeah, leading goal kicker Cole
Langford as well. Last season leading goal kicker Cole Langford
injured against Richmond, so he's also out. Yeah, that's fun,
that's fun. Fun, How fun? More debutantes though, come in?
You don't mind a bit a Zach Johnson apparently, Yeah,
you said he's just a collector.

Speaker 3 (06:03):
Apparently, it's very calm all he loves, he loves, he
loves the pauses. But he's he's very calm and collected
on the ball, which is what you want in an
a young player.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
Yeah, yeah, I reckon Brisbane of burning confidence. Charlie Cameron
might might have another good game, even kick three against
the Hawks in a quarter. I reckon he could do
that against the Bombers almost every quarter. He's absolute frequently
is at his best. We'll getting tips in margin MUDs. Yes.

Speaker 2 (06:24):
With that tips, I think lines by around forty seven.

Speaker 1 (06:28):
I'll say forty seven alright, yeah, Marcus lines by eighty
eighty minimum could be on the cards, possibly one hundred.
It'll be the first one hundred plus margin of the season.
And I think he surprises me. I think it is,
isn't it?

Speaker 2 (06:44):
So?

Speaker 3 (06:44):
I think genuinely this could come on Thursday night, which
is why Thursday night watching my team, watching your team
on a Thursday night. I love Thursday night foot you,
but I hate watching my team play on Thursday night
because then you've got.

Speaker 1 (06:56):
The rest of the weekend nothing By Sunday. It's like
everyone's got Yeah. North lost on a Thursday night and
to Essendon and everyone forgot by Monday. It was great. Yeah,
but ten corns is like what the hell? He hates it.
I'm going to go then by fifty points. I think.
I'm not sure if Brisbane are there yet to be
that huge, dominant eighty plus type of side just yet really,

(07:16):
but they'll get it. They'll get a big win just
because of Essendon has so many outs. Like Essendon, they
keep finding ways to win, but this is yet with
so many outs, they're cooked. I reckon. All right, Friday
night footy, here we go. This is the game of
the round. I'm calling it here, Collingwood verse Hawthorn. It
Friday night, seven forty at the mcg leo is already
crapping his pants with this one as a Hawks fan,
and Marcus is.

Speaker 3 (07:39):
A big Friday night and it is the game of
the round, isn't it?

Speaker 1 (07:43):
Not really for choice?

Speaker 3 (07:44):
But yes, like obviously there's that storyline where it's Guinea
verse Collingwood.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
Do we still read that as the storyline? I think
it's when I think about the game this weekend Friday night,
I don't necessarily think about Guinea verse Collingwood. I don't know.
You see, he hasn't been that good, so maybe that
doesn't have that reason. What are you thinking about? I'm
just thinking about all the calling Wood, Collingwood ins and
Hawthorne's frailties At the moment, I think there's a lot

(08:10):
of question marks over the hawkses. Definitely hard one, but
calling with their sets already again still side bottom, Pendles
and Bobby Hill were laid out before the North game.
They'll come back in Not to mention Darcy Moore as well,
just to sure up that defense even though yeah, that's goy.
You've had a look at their defense. Yeah they have.
They really missed him, No, they all they have. They

(08:31):
haven't like Billy Frampton, he's the lock of their defense.
They're number one still in defense, and they haven't had
Darcy Moore the last couple of weeks. And I don't
think they've missed him too much. I think Darcy Moore
is good at the intercept marks and sometimes sets up
their play. I don't know if he's got still got
that one on one capability that he used to have,
but he definitely helps. He definitely helps their side when
he's back there. But they're still number one defense, so

(08:53):
that's a big one for the Hawks, who haven't found
as many goals they wont on offense. I reckon as well.
It's all right, Charles go to kick five legacy games.
I don't think he's kicked five for Hawthorne or even
even in his career yet. Sot a game in the game.
Yeah for the season, mate, But obviously.

Speaker 3 (09:15):
The Maynard is out for the Pies with his foot injury.
But that just means Markov he keeps his spot on
the side. He's actually been playing.

Speaker 1 (09:24):
I love the celebrations. Did you hear to see why
he was running around like that because his little son, Lenny. Yeah, Lenny,
his little son was first steps, was walking around like that.
I was like, this guy is and he does run around.
He's got a couple of guys in the VFR. He's
doing some funny celebrations. He's got the ring master's mustache
about him. I just love he is he going to
do like a guinea celebration because that's his son. If

(09:45):
he plays chick, what guys Cranel will go to wizard?
So I reckon mark off the Guinea is a good matchup.
Could this be?

Speaker 3 (09:55):
Could this be the game where the Hawks playing step
up because they have a fantastic record they over in
recent times. They've won fifteen of the last seventeen against
Collingwood at the MCG.

Speaker 1 (10:06):
Thats when Hawks were even like dropped off for like
a year or two as well.

Speaker 3 (10:10):
Both sides were impressive. Yeah, the early teens as well.
That's pretty awesome.

Speaker 1 (10:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (10:15):
The record with will Day though without with and without
will Day is very concerning.

Speaker 1 (10:21):
Leo. Leo has been dreaming about will Day for weeks
and weeks as soon as he got drafted. I dreamt
about him. How old was he when he got drafted?
I don't know. Suspicious sixteen and four.

Speaker 2 (10:33):
We will day six and ten without will Day and
there is a alliance on him and I think a
lot of Hawks people hate to admit that, but he's
just sort of that mid that can break it open.

Speaker 1 (10:43):
Like you look at our midfield. Now, it's not a
bad midfield, but it's mean struggling. It's mean struggling and
it doesn't have that real game breaker in there. And
I think that's why we are rumored to be going
after Zach Butters and Harley Reid as well. Highlighted on
the weekend against Brisbane midfield depth when you's top quality
opposition who Ken just roll like that, You struggle a

(11:04):
little bit and you look at what on the flip
side for Collingwood, ned Long is one of those players
where you like, well, he's excelled into top quality player
from Hawthorne as well, which we touched Hawthorne well, but
he's a top quality player like we look at Hawthorne.

Speaker 3 (11:17):
Sorry, it's like Ken Connor Nash be that ned Long
sort of type where he could just excel like that
out of no, Wheed.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
Probably just players like that need to step up a
little bit for them to get the job done. Yeah. Nah,
good col. I definitely agree, you definitely not just agree,
definitely agrees. There we go, There we go. I'm excited
to watch Josh Well. I think he loves the g
the open space, and he's been playing everywhere I was
talked about him on the weekend, anywhere they put him
at the moment. He's doing well. So I'm very excited
to watch him. Can I pose a question, just a
quick one. Sure? Does McGinnis playing tag Dacos Oh, he's

(11:47):
done a good job in him before sub last week?
Do you bring McGinnis on for the field just for
one game of the year just played most of the season.
But yeah, just I don't know if he's going to
get back.

Speaker 2 (11:56):
At the side he was he was meant to not
be played last week. With late inclusion for sub. I
think we have to.

Speaker 1 (12:03):
We did last year. We actually made him sub against
the Pies last year and it worked as we won.
But I think we just have to do it at worked.
I think every team should like if they've got the
player to do it. Yeah, Like even North I was
mad about will films last week, but we don't want to.
We don't want to touch on that again. McGinnis has
the endurance. I think to go with Dekos, but it's
just another beast, isn't it, Nick Deakos. So I would
try it and if it doesn't work, we just have

(12:25):
options in place. But the coaches had over there all right,
tips and margin pies by sixty Hawks. I think we'll
fire up for it. But I did they just they
win yea, they know what the win.

Speaker 3 (12:39):
Colin would have makeing it look easy at the moment,
and I'm just a little bit concerned with the Hawk,
a little very still got We've still got Adelaide in
the Western Bulldogs West.

Speaker 1 (12:49):
Yeah, that's to come before your boy. That's a tough fih.
So you're going to have to, you know, if they
don't get the win here and they lose both those games,
you realistically so your sell outside the eighth and cop
a little percentage, yeah, the percentages by the buyers, so
hopefully post by the form that's when the film comes

(13:09):
towards September for the Hawks. But I'm going to the.

Speaker 3 (13:11):
Piles by five goals five goals players back in they're
doing it easy.

Speaker 1 (13:15):
So yeah, I'm going to tip Piles just by two goals,
just because I underestimated them in Darwin. I thought that
was the game where they could get smashed. They've got
a few players back since then, so I'm going to
say they're going to keep it close to Hawk. The
Hawks don't how to keep it close. They're still a
good side, I think, even though they've only been one
team in the in the eight. But the Parson know
how to get the job done in close games. So
pied by two goals. All right, let's get into Saturday.

(13:36):
This is my game, Gold Coast Verse three, Saturday one
twenty at People's First Stadium. This is going to be
a real fun matchup, real fun at midfield battle. That's
where I want to start in this one. You've got
I don't actually know if these are the exact matchups,
but I'm just putting him in my head. Two Miler
Verse bray Shaw real versts are wrong. Anderson versus Bolton,
who has been going through there just stars? Yeah mate,

(14:00):
why would you say that? Yeah? Oh sorry, what are
you doing? Anyway? This is going to be so fun
and just guys that accumulate the ball. Guys that run
both ways get a lot of tackles. What do you
guys think? I think it's gonna be good fun. This
would be good. Yeah, I reckon, why are you laughing
at that?

Speaker 2 (14:14):
The midfield battle will be really good and exciting to watch.

Speaker 1 (14:17):
Yes, in this one are conditions though, going to play
a bit of yes, so you usually j munover here.
Marcus Barzano is pretty good with this. But the wet
where that both teams have won multiple games in tough conditions.
So you've got Gold Coast in greasy conditions but pretty
similar to wet conditions. And then I think be Poor
and someone else I think was I'm trying to remember

(14:38):
who it was, but in wet conditions, Gus was. Even
the g WS game was a little bit GWS. That's
who do you guys record? Is more suited to the
wet conditions. I'm leaning towards Gold Coast because if they
can do it in darwe, I think that's harder than
the rain. It's so slippery out there. What do you
guys think? It's a tough one. I think it's an
easy one, to be honest. I think Gold Coast for sure. Yeah,
in Queensland where it's a traditionally like a monsoony sort

(15:01):
of state versus West Words. But if we're talking player types,
I'd argue like the likes of Sarong and Racia are
probably more equipped to it. And I think the way
the Suns play like a lot of reliance on using
their leg speed, they might not get that luxury. I
don't know, it's a tricky one.

Speaker 3 (15:20):
I don't know it'll be higher the disposals between the
six that you mentioned or an unknown Brasiles Missos tally
in the day.

Speaker 1 (15:27):
Wow, that is shot. I know exactly what he's talking about,
but I'm going to simply move on to that one.
Back is the big one. I wanted to ask as well.
They've won their last two. Luke Jackson's turned into his
unicorn self withouts on Sean Darcy, which we touched on
on last week's show, Shy Bolton's firing. I think though,
this is the one where we realize exactly where Free

(15:49):
are at. If they can they've got confidence, if they
can keep it close against Gocos, I don't have to win,
they win this. So if they win this, then you're like, well,
top eight for sure. But if they lose this scene,
this close game, I still think they're on the right jectory.
What do you guys think, Yeah, they can't get smashed,
can they. No, that would be worst case and we
go like, oh, well, threw aren't back.

Speaker 3 (16:07):
Yeah, it's not the end of the world if they
lose to Gold Coasts have shown that they're a very
good side and this season. But you're right, they can't
get rushed aside very easily. Look, they're still gonna put
in a workman lock performance and keep it close.

Speaker 1 (16:18):
Yep, no good call. I've got some stats for your.
Gold Coast have won the last eight home matches when
playing with the rest advantage, so they even had a
rest advantage away last week. But they don't mind a
bit of an extra bit of an extra rest, so
they love a good win at home there. The last
six meetings as well have been all won by the
home teams, so this one's obviously on the Gold Coast.
They'll be loving that stat. And six of the last

(16:39):
seven meetings have been under one hundred and sixty five points,
so usually low scoring, the defenses usually step up because
even free they have a lot of guys that run off,
so not always the best defense. Gold Coast play very
attacking footy. Even in Darwin when the Hawks scored ninety six,
the Dogs scored around that as well. Yep. But do
we think even forget the conditions, do we think that
teams going on their show? But I think this could

(17:00):
still be pretty high scoring even if it's a bit wet. Well.

Speaker 3 (17:02):
Yeah, Freemantle's defenses is boosted now with Alex Pearce getting
off his suspension, his thy week suspension. So that's a
that's a big obviously return, big return to the side
because he's kept that suspension. Yes, against the likes of
Hogan et cetera.

Speaker 1 (17:17):
Yeah, yeah, what do we think about that? I think
that finally the ANFL have finally done the right decision.
They've gone, oh, he's looking at the footy. He wasn't
trying to hurt the man at all. Oh you can cuss.
Don't worry. It was an accident and he got off
the suspension and Paul Curtis is still robbed. What do
we think about this one? I have to just bring
that up, let it go. I don't know if the
fries in the back everything. I think the right decision reached,

(17:41):
but they need to do it with more. All I'm
saying is I think they needed. They're still inconsistency there.
Why has that one gotten off and others haven't? Because
he's just got to two weeks? Suspensions don't exist. Yeah,
it's just three or enough. If we have one in
a while, it's all the one or three. Marcus might
get a two week suspension for some references on this show,
but that's about it. Tips and margin lads, Go coastri
who you got Leon Sun's fourteen Frio won't disgrace themselves? Yep, Marcus,

(18:06):
I'm going to go Gold Coast by four goals four goals.
Do you think it can be close and they might
kick away at the end or no?

Speaker 3 (18:14):
I think it'll be a cruisy sort of performance. I'm
still not sold on Freemantle.

Speaker 1 (18:19):
Fair enough, I'm going to go Gold Coast by eight points.
I've been impressed by free I think if it's wet,
might keep it a little bit closer than this core suggests.
And even Gold Coast had a lot of close games,
so I reckon there'll be a close one up on
the Gold Coast, all right? Next one on Saturday GWS
versus Richmond Saturday four fifteen, back at NG Stadium. Leo
go on, this is my one question for the panel.

(18:39):
Oh you love a question for the panel. This is good,
This is good.

Speaker 2 (18:41):
Right, I'm going to ask myself how ruthless can GWS
be After a strong win at Marvel last week.

Speaker 1 (18:46):
I think they're going to be very ruthless in this
and I think they'll take no prisoners. Maybe no, no,
I agree and sold myself.

Speaker 3 (18:54):
I don't have to be ruthless though, to get over
this Richmond side at home.

Speaker 1 (18:58):
True, true, I.

Speaker 3 (19:01):
Feel like it's just a cruisey win as long as
they win, get a little percentage boost, avoid any injuries.

Speaker 1 (19:06):
What if they just come out and kicked first six,
that's ruthless, That is ruthless. And again I wouldn't I
wouldn't be expecting them to do that. No, be to
be a top side to you. Yeah, I know, I
think they can. I think they can be pretty ruthless.
Like they were filthy that they lost too. They lose
to They should not have lost the free at home.
They hadn't had a home game for ages until that,

(19:26):
like since the start of the season. I think they
will want to prove to their especially their home fans
and just the league that Energie is not a hard sorry,
not an easy place to play. Do they have a
weird record and Ergie is it all right? So their
record is all right. But the last meeting against Richmond,
Richmond won and that was only in twenty twenty three.
So Richmond won the last meeting at Energy. But they
have won five of their last seven there, so usually
they're they're pretty powerful, pretty powerful there, well, sort of

(19:50):
going against Richmond beating them last summ at Energy. Richmond
have lost their last ten on the road. I ideal,
we got all are out with a hammi. Not ideal,
you bolt out because you can't go into state. And
so it's.

Speaker 2 (20:03):
Really things aren't really lining up for Richmond in this one.
But we have been sort of on the green shoots.

Speaker 1 (20:10):
We love it. Every week there's a new player that
pops up. Yep, they should get La Fouer back.

Speaker 3 (20:15):
Is that it looks like to one game with playing
quarters in the VFL, and then the second game dream Time,
there was more of a routine game and you actually
played quite well. I think he kicked a couple in
that dream Time win over the Bombers.

Speaker 1 (20:27):
Yeah, he had fourteen goals in his first teen games,
which is his first season last year, and everyone's like, oh,
we finally got this extra guy that can kick a
couple of goals a game. And then he did he
did his knee I think it was yeah, yeah, which
was absolutely brutal, but him coming back again, it's another
Green shirt and you get a bit of positive vibes
of Richmond who aren't gone that well and experience as well.
Back in the side. Tom Lynch, he'd come back in

(20:48):
the side from concussion, so that's true, that's handy. It'd
be a handy in especially against Can he just hold
Sam Taylor off would be a big challenge for him.
I don't know about that one. I don't know either.
What do we think? Last question I want to ask
was Toby Green. Can he can he double down? Can
he dominate him down? Because like he obviously had, half
his mates were in the crowd, he had his two
hundred and fiftieth, he's he's the best ever Giants player,

(21:10):
like that was just such a big game. And then
does he dropped back down to earth because he hasn't
been that good this year or can he can he
continue to keep that up?

Speaker 2 (21:17):
I think he'll have a respectable game. I think last
week was like, let's stand up for.

Speaker 1 (21:21):
Toby, and Toby fed off that a little bit like
no disrespect to Richmond. They did beat Carlton, but it
is a lesser opposition.

Speaker 2 (21:29):
Yeah, even though they were underdogs, like last week was
probably a harder game for the Giants.

Speaker 1 (21:35):
Oh yeah, step up. He's going to step up for
it this week. Might not have to. He's just trying
to say. It's very confused to miss that guy drying.
I'm I'm there, I'm now, I'm with you, I'm with you.

Speaker 3 (21:46):
It's just gonna be Toby doing Toby things. I reckon
you have twenty and two twenty two.

Speaker 1 (21:50):
Yeah, I think that's what he needs to I know
he's getting to though, but he needs to get around
that fifteen and two. I think most games, that's just
what they need for him. I know he's getting older,
but he should do that. Tips and margin lads, jenws Richmond.
I'll start with Marcus. I'm going to go fifty points too.
The Giants.

Speaker 3 (22:05):
Yeah, I think it's just they're much better side and
it's going to be tough. Richmond away from home after
getting up for such a big game. Look dreams on.

Speaker 2 (22:14):
Yeah, I think five goals for GWS, so I think
Richmond can be like, hang around a little bit, a
little competitive.

Speaker 1 (22:21):
They've shown that this year. Yeah, I agree. I'm going
to go Giants by thirty five. There's been a lot
of games where Richmond in the first half bring the pressure,
bring the speed, even likes of like Seth Cambra right Mantle.
They know how to kick a few goals, but it's
always in the first half and then they sort of
drop off. So I think it could be pretty close
for the first half because the Giants haven't been that impressive.
But I'm going to go Giants by thirty three. They
will just kill him in the second half, but there

(22:41):
we go, all right. Next game, Sydney versus Adelaide Saturday night,
seven thirty five, back at the SCG. There's a lot
going on in this one, Marcus. It's actually quite a
tasty Saturday night matchup.

Speaker 3 (22:51):
It is, although it might not look it on paper
considering how the form that Sydney have been in and
Adelaide's good form yep.

Speaker 1 (22:58):
But Sydney doing a good record over Adelaide. They've won
the last six meetings and they make it seven. Really
surprises me. They won six straight against one of them
was helped from the umpires. That be.

Speaker 3 (23:13):
How many times have we brought that up. It's just
that guy love, a bit of love, bit of c
But Sydney again Callum Mills heartbreak for I just can't
get a run break, I don't bump anyone.

Speaker 1 (23:28):
Yeah, well no, but he just can't get a consistent
run on the side. It's his fault. Well that is
his fault. But still ken.

Speaker 3 (23:35):
The Sydney defense cope with the Adelaide forward long because
they've been on fire recently. We expected the tors for
Adelaide to go incredibly well. But I was mentioned on
the Sunday.

Speaker 1 (23:46):
Lukey Pedler, my fan favorite a couple of Rochelle kicked
five but was awesome. Yeah, I think that we're going
to touch on it.

Speaker 2 (23:55):
I think every Adelaide preview is their forward line is
just so many options. If that doesn't get you fog Will,
If Foggy doesn't get your ranking Will frankn doesn't get
your Rashaley Will, I haven't even mentioned like four other
people who could kick a couple of goals. So that's
if Sidney want to win this game, They've just got
to play an absolute defensive scrap against this Adelaide team

(24:15):
and make it ugly as hell.

Speaker 1 (24:16):
An old scool John Longmire game, bring him back. He
literally would put twenty players behind the ball stoppage central. Yeah,
they actually could use that take. I don't know if
that's the players behind the ball, there's only another ground.

Speaker 3 (24:30):
But but if E does, if they do go to
that style, do they win that style? Like, I'm not
even sure Adelaide's depth in the middle. We're talking all
about Adelaide's forward line, but in fact they've got the
third best defense in the competition as well.

Speaker 1 (24:45):
Mcalaany. That's a great point. And this doesn't. This doesn't.

Speaker 3 (24:48):
This raises eyebrows for Sydney because Sidney went from having
the best offense last season scoring one hundred plus for
fun so now just scoring on average seventy seven points
across their last seven matches good time, and they've only
won one of those, I think.

Speaker 1 (25:03):
So it's brutal with they literally have so many injuries,
so many suspensions. Like their forward line is just it's
not a forward line you don't have. They don't have
a toll forward at all. Really when you're handling who
played forward for the first time a month ago. You've
got Aaron Francis who was playing in there, that's always
played backline as well.

Speaker 3 (25:19):
It's a tough coming in and then coming back expansion.
It's brutal, but they will regain. Macinuly in a positive
news for Sydney. He was good at the start. But boys,
if the Crows win this away from home, are they
a genuine top four Like? Yes, are we banking them?

Speaker 1 (25:36):
They've still got West Coast, Richmond and North Melbourne to
come in the second half. I'm not going to say
I'm banking them like I wouldn't put it in my
lock of the week if I was doing that, I'd
say that more than likely underestimating them as a top
four team a little bit probably. I still think the Dogs,
do you? So I think I've still got Brisbane calling

(25:56):
with Dogs Geelong and I don't think I think to
push one of them can be fifth or sixth best
for me, but just because the other teams can beat
the bigger teams consistently, I think whereas Adelaide there yet
they're on the same level as the Suns for me,
which is just outside that four and I know that
Sons are in the four. Yeah, but I just a
question whether the Sons can stay in the four. I

(26:18):
agree with that one. Yeah for sure. We love this guy.
Executive producer Olivia behind the camera loves this guy's while
the desk Rory Lad he loves playing the Swans. He
got a feature because I looked up listen to this boys.
The leading disposal get it for the Crows in the
last five meetings with the Swans was the desk led
He averages thirty three disposals in his last five meetings
with the with the Swans, So yeah, why not. We've

(26:41):
got to give him some love. He's had a great
career at the Crows, and we give him a little
bit of crap sometimes that he's he's not going as
well or things like that. What it we give him crowd,
I don't know. I just feel like we do it.
He's in the twilo of his career, so he's getting
a little bit forgotten about. I never underestimate the desk.
I still want to know why it's called the desk.
I think he's just built.

Speaker 3 (26:58):
He looks like, don't know, no human looks like a desk.
I mean Josh Begley for the bomb was his nickname
was the fridge? You know fridge is at least tall
like small? What is roy LED's body like this?

Speaker 1 (27:12):
It was a mini fridge, he stats guy's normal fridge?
Actually what Begley? Josh Begley small? You know that roy
Led stat does? Tell me? What did it tell you?
People in Sydney hate office jobs? Ah, they had the desk.
There we go, let's move on. That's not great. We
give him anything there, but I want you to give
you something your tip and margin, please, sir, I'll give

(27:33):
you a tip. Crows twenty two. I'll give you my tip.
It's Crows by twelve. Oh, why you guys made that
sound so weird. I'm going to go Crows by fifteen.
They'll get over the line and at the seg It's
not that easy to travel to, but crows will get
get the job done. He leo quick question. Do you
know what the AX means? Do you mean a fl X? No? Mate,

(27:54):
the AX the Australian Stock Exchange. Oh man, I'm absolutely
clueless with that stuff. Lucky for you, stock Head is
a free website that gives you everything you need to
know about punting stocks on the ax. Damn, that sounds
pretty good. Where do I check them out? Check it
out via stockare dot com, dot you and it's even
easy for your little p brain to understand. Damn. All right,

(28:15):
Sunday Sunday Fun Day, as Leo calls Melbourne versus Saint Kilda.
This one is in Alice Springs actually at Teo Treger Park.
The D's play at one game a year there. The
last four Melbourne they've kept their finals hopes alive. They've
been unbelievable. They're the equal most points over the last
six games. They've been so so good. And that major
reason because of that is Cozy Picket. He is one

(28:36):
of the best players in the competition. Over the last
month and a half, he's averaging two point two goals
twenty disposals this season. He's just been unbelievable. Is he
just Would every team want Cozy Picket right now? Would
you would every team were trade for him? I think
you would.

Speaker 2 (28:48):
Like's a freak, he's electric, he's classy, he.

Speaker 1 (28:51):
Is a real barometer forum yep. And it's a reason
to watch Melbourne.

Speaker 3 (28:57):
He's doing Melbourne a favor. Or think he's bumping up
price if he does the season, so at least Melbourne
might get something even better in return.

Speaker 1 (29:04):
And that's exactly what Melbourne needed because most teams, the
guys that kick the four or five goals are the
big forwards. They don't have the big forwards at all.
So the fact that Cozy is capable of doing that
helps him so much. He's in my all Australian forward
line as well. I don't think I think most people
will to gorow on that. Just a bit of a
match up here, not sorry, not a matchup, just guys
going ahead to head Cozzy versus Jack Higgins. So Cozy
obviously averaging the two point two Higgins is averaging two

(29:27):
point six. Guys, he's got twenty eight goals in eleven
games this year. Who kicks more and more goals than
this one? Do we think?

Speaker 2 (29:32):
I think Higgins has been fantastic, he's been so good,
but I think Melbourne will.

Speaker 1 (29:36):
Give Cosy more chances at goal. Higgins gets starved at times,
so I think I'm with Cozzy on that one.

Speaker 3 (29:41):
Yeah, yeah, on the same I'm going with Cozy. I
think it's just to Trega Park as well. I just
think Melbourne Melbourne's small defense. We saw Drack Higgins. He
he's got kept very quiet against Gold Coast. Yeah, first
game he hadn't keeps it going off here. I think
when you when you've got that Melbourne defense led by
the line by the likes of Christian Salem and Bawie,

(30:02):
I just I just think, you know, Jack.

Speaker 1 (30:04):
Kiggins could have an plays a good lockdown. Roll Higgins
on that player that Channel seven players was very funny.
He says whatever comes to his head, and oh, I
just love how he goes about it. Unfortunately, I'm going
to read it out to another stats here polar opposite
more fortunately for the Saints fans for this fortunately, I'm
going to speak some people probably think that the comments
whatever know in the comments film and to speak more
polar opposite from these sides. These are one at five

(30:26):
of their last six and the Saints for six of
their last seven. Leo is talking them up at the
start of the year. I reckon he's tipped them and
all all seven. So you've got probably on one tip
and you've got them on the other other ones. And
the other side Ross ross Lyne there was a lot
of talk about him last week on the Gold Coast
Nepo babies. He needs to back up his chat a bit.
I'm all for him being a bit funny, bit cocky

(30:47):
and things like that, but if you get smashed every week,
you can't be saying that. I know.

Speaker 3 (30:51):
If you talk the talk, you gotta walk the wa
And does Ross have that about him? Does Ross Saanders
have that about it? Does Ross Lyne have aura?

Speaker 1 (30:59):
No? No, no, okay, what's you going to say about Melbourne? Though?
What can you say? They don't rock up, They can't
bring their cheese boards to the Trager Park.

Speaker 3 (31:06):
They might fill out a crowd, but they might feel
out of sturdy influence Trager Park, No Melbourne, But I
want to say that wasn't a great crowded were you?

Speaker 1 (31:14):
There was one of the it's all over the inter stories?
Was wanted it? We'll move on said there. We're obviously
back at Trager Park in our springs. These have won
three of their last five matches there, so sorry you
said lost in the run sheet and I want to
read that one again. They've actually lost three of their
last five matches there. Sorry that, but they have won

(31:36):
their last five meetings against the Saints, so they're not
going that well up in our springs. But they match
up well. They match up well against the Saints, so
I think they'll go pretty well. There. She was getting
to the tips in margin, lads or any other thoughts,
are h, what's your tip? No? He stopped him at
the Saints DA thirty four. Are you okay? This is
the this is the week Saints win? Now war you've

(31:58):
touched me? I loved this episode. I'm not complaining hr
in the camera. D's boy, I think this is lower.

Speaker 3 (32:06):
This is a bit lighter for me. Also dsbox twenty four,
but I'm actually going to go D's by fifty.

Speaker 1 (32:10):
Spontaneous calls, spontaneous double the margin. Can that be a
segment we just have like a spontaneous call and we
just think of the first thing that comes into our head.
I think that most of the things that you say
on the couch of the thing that comes inez because
he's a g's board. D's by thirty eight. I think
they're going to absolutely smash me. The Saints are in Shamas.
I still love Jack Sinclair Naswagaila, but the depth is

(32:32):
in there, and the goal kicking ability just isn't there.
And the D's they've shown they can kick a big score.
So I think that d's by thirty eight, all right.
The next one on Sunday at West Coast Geelong Sunday
seven twenty at Opta Stadium. Yeah, we're all over the
Geelong forwards here, absolutely.

Speaker 2 (32:47):
So Geelong have kicked one hundred and thirty plus points
in four of the last five against West Coast.

Speaker 1 (32:52):
I know I can bring stats too, I can do it.

Speaker 2 (32:54):
But these games have been at either Adelaide Oval or
gm HbA, so it's a bit of a skinnier ground,
not necessarily wide. Last time they played it Optus they
scored I think it was around eighty eighty one.

Speaker 1 (33:05):
I think eighty one. There you go, he brings the stats.

Speaker 2 (33:08):
So West Coast they can somewhat defend that wider ground,
but you know they're a.

Speaker 1 (33:13):
Lot stronger at out of status, but they still could
get smashed with their outs though. That's that's a big
time point. I feel so well.

Speaker 2 (33:21):
Obviously talk about Jeremy McGovern. He would have helped defend
that wider ground. He's not playing Waterman out for the season.
He's been their best forward. He's not playing Jamie Crips
and Owi's are also out, which are just two important
small forwards.

Speaker 1 (33:34):
I think with all those.

Speaker 2 (33:35):
Considered, I think Geelong will probably reach a nice sort
of middle ground of maybe one hundred and ten points.
Only well, I just think they kicked Eagles are at home,
That's what I'm thinking.

Speaker 1 (33:46):
Not only that, all those forwards outs as well, a lot.

Speaker 3 (33:49):
Of inexperience outs experience out yes, yeah too already inexperience side.

Speaker 1 (33:54):
Yes, they kicked one hundred and twenty six points against
the Dogs. I reckon one forty plus.

Speaker 2 (34:00):
That's on a skinny ground. I'm saying it's a wider ground.
West Coast is home ground. You can defend a little
bit better. So that's why I reckon the middle ground.
He is the way he one hundred and ten points.
The Catches have so many options going forward. Jezzo's hit form.
I don't know he's leaving the comments.

Speaker 1 (34:16):
For three quarters of the season, he's been like, it's
been okay, but it hasn't been his best. But even
Cats fans have said they've got some Cats mates fan mates,
Oh you guys don't even counterparent work out on the couch.
But genuinely everyone knows he does this throughout the season.
He'll have a five or six week period where he's like, Eh,
I'm just gonna go and chew on my farm and

(34:36):
kick the ball over the dam and do some YouTube
videos and then I'll come back and kick six on
your head like he just does this. Yeah, he's a
weird man.

Speaker 2 (34:43):
Pairing with Shannon Neil, who kicked five last week, yep,
a bit of a breakout game for him. I want
to see if you can keep that up against West Coast.
But then you also got Stangle, you got Brad Close,
you got Myers, you got Ollie Demsey. There's options galore,
and I feel like if West Coast could maybe somehow
quell Cameron and Neil, someone else is.

Speaker 1 (35:01):
Going to pop up.

Speaker 2 (35:02):
I still think one hundred and ten points on the
card on the cards, and that Eagles team will unfortunately
just come to it.

Speaker 1 (35:09):
Yeah. I know there's some big outs. I keep talking
him up, but every week he's gone slightly better. Sandy Brook,
I don't. I just like the roster. He got a
few fair few intercept marks last week, and he's like
trying to be that mini mcgovernment, I think, and I
know he's a long way to go towards that, because
McGovern's an all time great but he looked all right.
So there's the green shoots there for the West coast
as well. Yeah, there we go, all right, tips and
margin lads, are we thinking of belting or what's the vibeard?

Speaker 2 (35:31):
Yeah, I think of belting. I reckon Geelong Bye, I'll
go forty forty.

Speaker 1 (35:37):
Yeah, okay, why is that a belting? I reckon, you
need a bit more.

Speaker 3 (35:40):
I'm not necessarily contain. I'm doing a spontaneous double the margin.
I'm gone eighty points.

Speaker 1 (35:45):
Whatever, he's gone double every time that vibes eighty points.
Eighty points. I'm going to say by fifty, Like Leo said,
I think they're a little bit better at Optics Stadium,
but it's going to be comfortable fifty points and the
Cats get the job done. All right, we're done. I
keep forgetting about. We're not done. We're not done for
the previous We've done the previous because of the bye weeks.

(36:05):
Obviously there's a few teams not playing. Let's get into
the lock of the week and the big calls. Now,
a reminder on the locks, we're going to count them
up throughout the whole season and at the end whoever
has the least amount of locks will be doing a
punishment just putting that out there. Yeah, but we shouldn't
really be getting any locks wrong just to hand up. Yeah, no,
for sure, what's your locks? That guy will have to
think about it on the fly, that Leo. What is

(36:26):
your lock of the week?

Speaker 2 (36:27):
My lock of the weekend is Josh Decos to have
twenty five plus disposals against the Hawks. He's average, it's
a lot, averages twenty nine in his last five games.

Speaker 1 (36:38):
And also I've just kept to watching Hawthorne. They can
side disposals to half back Zorco.

Speaker 2 (36:42):
Thirty three last week, and as we know, two weeks
ago the weapon John Noble thirty six and one thousand
meters gains. So just a little watch and I think
Deacos twenty five is an absolute certainty.

Speaker 3 (36:52):
I like the like the twenty five plus, which is war.
I'm going to add that into my look of the week.
Risbon bounced back at the Gabba and win by twenty
five plus.

Speaker 2 (37:02):
Okay, doumb down there, let's go the line at twenty
four and a half.

Speaker 1 (37:07):
Then bombs. Yes, I'm going to go. Christian Bacharka is
my lock twenty five plus. I think they're going to
do so well at Trager Park. He's going to eas
be He's back and forth. He looks back to his
fit best. So twenty five plus is easy for track spontaneous, right,
twenty does Yeah, there we go, all right, big call,
here we go. This is the week he's getting. We
get the big calls, right. I've just got a good

(37:27):
feeling about this one. Three for three big calls. Three.
I just I just know what's going to happen. That's
never ever going to happen, by the way, No, it
will happen this week. Mark have never been done before.
We're going to do something in the history of YouTube.
No one's ever got three big calls right on aflu, Marcus,
what's your big Jesse Cameron six against the Eagles is

(37:50):
coming off six and seven in the last two weeks,
and he also kicked nine I believe the last one
we played the Eagles. Yeah, I believe, Yeah, I believe
six plus a bad day for the brock Star then
possibly yes. Unfortunately for him he has to face Prime anyway. Leo,
I'm going with Logan Morris to kick four plus goals.
That's a rogue one.

Speaker 2 (38:11):
I'm looking at Essendon's back line. It's very undersized. Obviously
we talked about Zach Reid and Ben McKay not playing.

Speaker 1 (38:17):
There's no Ridley. It's really just la Verde there for
we would probably go to Hipwood.

Speaker 2 (38:22):
So there's gonna be a bit of a mismatch at
times for Logan Morris. And I'm a bit worried if
he can kick straight or not. But I'm going to
back him in. I reckon he kicks four four.

Speaker 1 (38:31):
He's really good. I love he's great on the lead.
He's really good. Yeah, I'm going to go the fan favorite.
I talked about him last year a lot. He's back
in the side years ago now. Whenever it was Lukey
Pabler three plus goals. He had two goals last week
shocked the world. Everyone was like, who's this guy? Oh, yes,
the fan favor, of course. But he kicked three goals.
Is his career high against Port Adelaide in a showdown.

(38:53):
I think it was last year of the year before,
and I really think he can kick three goals in
this one. I reckon when he says bring it up
a slow down performing Sydney out of four they can
I dominate. I'll give you some more because he dominated
kick five. You got almost everyone kicked a goal against
Sydney the other week, and Sidney really had a form,
especially on the defensive end. I reckon, Ever since you
said he was fan favorite, that he got dropped and

(39:15):
didn't play, so I think he had one.

Speaker 2 (39:17):
I reckon even Adelaide fans have forgotten that he's in
the in the squad.

Speaker 1 (39:21):
Last week he got two great snack Yeah, you think
the market the scram was like, who's this boke? And
then when on this spoke, oh peddler, we traded him.
Put some respect on his name. Mate the fan fa
He's going to kick three goals, all right, that's the
luck of the week, and Big Coles. We're going to
finish off with a bit of a brownlow chat. Lad.
So we haven't done this on the show for a while,
but we usually touch on the brown or the comment.
We're going to be touching on a lot of things
like that over the bye weeks. Who wants to lead

(39:43):
this one with the brownlow chat? Marcus should lead. I'll
lead it with an honorable mention. I'll lead it with
an honorable mention to be Dekos, who I think could
be in the top ten, possibly even top five. Okay
as current steam back yourself, mate, I'm going to back
myself and I think we need to talk about him more.
And that's Dane z Orco. He's Yeah, the man is
thirty six years old. He's young. He's got career high

(40:06):
stats for disposals, he's got career high stats for interstep possessions,
and he's got career high stats for score involvements as well. Yeah,
he's dominating since he's half back, So since Kitty Khmen
went down, he's been at one of the best half
backs in the business and he has.

Speaker 3 (40:22):
And I just think he's he's been underappreciated a little bit.
I think, just genuinely in the competition. So this is
where Brownlow votes. Honestly, I would have him early double digits.
I reckon he'd be towards the double digits mark.

Speaker 1 (40:37):
Yeah, and Brisbane they don't have anyone else that will
take that. Yeah, I think the Mids will take up.
But I think he could be talking about Dane zo
Is getting three or he probably he probably will get
three on the on the weekend. He wouldn't Artie and four.
They don't do that. Lucky Near was better than Zoro
was better than Lucky.

Speaker 3 (40:55):
Now great, interesting, Well there you go, honorable mention got
kind of snared at.

Speaker 1 (40:59):
But that's hole. That's that's good. I'll do it again.
Whoever you who you're looking at, Lea for the browner
exact Merritt. Yeah, I think he's consistently consistently polls in
the top ten. And you know, the argument, I guess
would be dust and win enough games like that, but
like they've been winning enough games, if they get to
say eleven wins, that's that could be thirty votes for
him legitimately, because he'd polland there in the close loss

(41:23):
should be but shre well, you're going to get you
have to get forty five votes in the last couple
of years in losses, he could poll as well.

Speaker 2 (41:30):
I know there's you know, Nick Martin and Cardwell and
Durham and these guys, but I just don't think there's
that many dudes that can take votes off him.

Speaker 1 (41:37):
I think Nick Martin is really the only one.

Speaker 2 (41:40):
Whereas you look at other players, like people say Dawson,
which is a shout, but you know, Rankin's there.

Speaker 1 (41:45):
I think if thriller gets off the chain, They're looking
at him. Fogged, he gets off the chain, They're looking
at him. Who's taking votes off the likes of Nick Dekos.
That's a great point. Who is I think he's not
as good as the favoritism suggests, but he just polls
votes Paul's votes. Like, there's just certain players that the
umpires love. I'm not I'm not just gonna mince my
words there. They love him and if they play decent,

(42:07):
they get the votes. Obviously, Decos is having an incredible
year still, but I don't know if he should be
the favorite.

Speaker 3 (42:12):
Just off the cuff as well, just thinking of this one.
I know there's a lot of players at the Bulldogs
that takes vote votes off each other, but Ed Richards.

Speaker 1 (42:19):
He's been rated the best player this season very hard.
Do we really rate champions? Yes, Well, if he continues
to have twenty five plus and one or two every game, yep,
I'd give more votes to liber than Ed Richardson. Yeah,
has been their best player vote getter? Is he? Richard
Richard stands out here? But then Adam Adam Cooney surprisingly

(42:43):
won a Brown that I reckon because he stands out
You know who does stand out and I want to
see you win it? Who Max Gore.

Speaker 3 (42:53):
Let's break the stereotype of the ball magnets, of the midfielders,
the all the magnets. Well, he's a ball mag It
is in himself, he said, yeah, I know, but he
gets that. He gets a fair a fair chunk of
the foot of himself. According to the Brownlow Metal predictor
on the AFL website, Look, we don't read a lot
into that. Sometimes he is equal second, three point three

(43:16):
votes behind Gordon Dawson. And I just think when Melbourne wins,
they look like they're going to start and finish the
season strong if they can win enough games. He's the
one who's always there Melbourne win. Yeah, gone two or
three votes because he's just that good and he dominates
every other ruckman apart from Jerry.

Speaker 1 (43:34):
Jerry could get a food votes as well. But we
don't win enough games Melbourne are winning. Do you do
you know who the last ruckman to win a Brown
there was? It's actually very close to maxicon Maxicolln's height.
Its heart well, I hope as a ruckman they're close
to be about the same height as mate from the
nineties from the nineties. Jim Stein's Yes, so Jim Stein's

(43:54):
obviously Melbourne legend. Imagine if Jim Steines wins the Last
Ruckman Brown THEO and then Mexico and Mexican, that'd be
pretty cool or more for Mexico and winning the Brown
the middle. I am too. Yeah, Bailey Smith, but I
think Bailey Smith we need to talk about him because actually, yes,
I know, he's not always getting in it under he
just has the flare. He's getting thirty disposes every game.

(44:15):
He's been the best pick up he's in the team,
the longa in the top four. Who's been the best
pick up? Kennedy for me, McKenney more than I've got
Bally Smith just ahead at the moment, just ahead. They're
both they're both very good. But he may miss a
week or two. Uh this week and next week. Yeah,
he wasn't going to play for the Dogs game because
he was carrying Oh yeah, sorry, I think he'll be

(44:37):
I think or something to be fair if if you're
going to rest him, West Coast is probably West Coast
away trip to Yeah, they been playing West Coast. Probably
the one's not my super coach, No, let us know
in the comments. Who you think will win the brown though,
who's the leader at the moment, and maybe even just
let us know if ruckman should be able to win
a browner, they should. A ruckman or a forward should
be getting more vocal with and defenders exactly, we should

(44:59):
and we should bring the gold yeah, exactly. Utility and coaches, No,
no coaches anyway, you guys need to stop. That will
