When it gets down the wife.

got the AFL Today Show merch on looking very sharp.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
Hag on, Leah, Oh thank you.

Speaker 3 (00:37):
That's a great compliment. Yeah, this shirt, I really like it.
And Hawthorn one, even though that was an eternity ago.
But I'm feeling good when.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
You show on the back. When you squat from the car,
I'm afraid if I squat, I might get myself already.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
Yeah, that's all right, that's right. We've also got Marcus Barzao.
He knows what he's doing. He hasn't got the AFL
Today Show merch on, but he's still looking pretty sharp.

Speaker 4 (00:59):
Hag on much Oh, thank you very much, So were you.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
All right, let's get right into the show.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
At around thirteen results, lads, it might not have been
the greatest round, but we will delve into all of it.
So Thursday Night Footy Marvel Stadium is the first one.
We were all there actually to some extents. Western Bulldogs
eight goals eleven fifty nine. We can talk about eight
goals eleven fifty nine with the Dogs. Hawthorne twelve goals,
nine eighty one Marcusion.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
Yeah, the Hawks needed to deliver and they needed to
bounce back, and they did it for you.

Speaker 4 (02:25):
Leo came only only only Leo, but it was an
impressive performance because they kept the second best offensive team
in the competition in the Western Bulldogs to fifty nine points,
which was their lowest score of the season, and I
believe it was the third time this season that Hawthorne
have conceded less than sixty points in a game. That's

(02:46):
elite and they needed to back it up with their
pressure as well. Against the Dogs. They had more tackles
than their previous two weeks combined. So they had six
and thirty eight the previous two weeks and they that's
seventy four tackles combined.

Speaker 1 (02:59):
But they clips that they week they finished with that's
an early good boy.

Speaker 4 (03:07):
And but more importantly though, they got the job done
with some big outs.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
Obviously, Will Day is still out.

Speaker 4 (03:13):
The Wizard was laid out with illness, and James Cicily
as well. The general in the defense was out.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
Will Days out because he's coaching local local junior team.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
He's got master. He's gone. Well he is his future,
his career future. Maybe he's there we go.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
He was on the sidelines of the head set on
like a man in power.

Speaker 1 (03:32):
There you go. There you sorry to interrupt.

Speaker 4 (03:34):
The chroll was the stand out for me after going
after going goalless in the previous two weeks. He finished
the game with four goals, especially when a lot of
people like.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
Does he do enough?

Speaker 4 (03:48):
Does he kick kick enough goals to keep himself in
the side. Can Hawthorne go all the way with Chrol
being the number one forward you've seen here against a
very decent defense in the Western Bulldogs that he can indeed,
but the Dogs it was it just the post boy Blues.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
Boys, I think so.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
I think it was like it's so.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
I guess harsh to say that.

Speaker 3 (04:13):
They put in like a crap performance and like they
weren't up for it. It's just one of those things
where you get jumped at the start you weren't I
guess mentally prepared for it. But they tried to work
themselves into the game and they fell short.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
They always look second to the ball.

Speaker 4 (04:27):
I think they were just a little bit lackluster, going
sort fifty really slow as well, but that's also a
credit to the Hawthorns flooding back and defense as well.
But look, they had chances to kick straight. They finished
eight eleven, but the Stars really just didn't kick straight
when they needed to. You had Baunce, English and Lob
combining for one goal six.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
Yeah, they tried to swing a lot forward again, which yeah,
I didn't mind to give it a go, but it
just didn't work.

Speaker 3 (04:53):
It was the old break glass in case of emergency
bevo sense. The game was slipping and it was a
good move, but ultimately wasn't enough.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
It was a good movie that we'll probausly hopefully throughout
the year a little bit more because nas is coming
back then.

Speaker 4 (05:06):
Because yeah, true true, and they're just scary because Darcy
is coming back as well. They got so many positive
still the Dogs despite losing. But did we buy into
the Dogs a little bit too early?

Speaker 1 (05:17):
Boys? Are we still saying their flag hunting?

Speaker 3 (05:22):
I don't think flag hunt Yeah, I still think right
up there, premiership content. I still want to buy some
stock in the dog Yeah, some dog stock coin, pock coin, yeah,
doge coin not a sponsor.

Speaker 1 (05:34):
Be aware of what you're buying before you buy.

Speaker 3 (05:36):
No, look, as we said post by post by blues
for the Dogs, I think, and I think they'll be fine.
I speaking to a few dogs friends, speaking to my girlfriend.

Speaker 1 (05:47):
Weird brag, I know, speak of your girlfriend, yeah, weird right.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
Just about like because she's a dogs fan about don't
we fine? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (05:58):
You don't need to worry.

Speaker 3 (05:58):
About this performance coming off the by. You can roll
back into some good football pretty soon. And they didn't
get smashed. They were in the game going into the
last quarter, so I wouldn't be worried.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
Oh, let's move on. Let's move on that. I wanted
to bring up Guinea's goal. So obviously you've one of
the few goals that I saw in the bar.

Speaker 1 (06:19):
But that's okay.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
Guinea walking sorry, sprinting down obviously tapped it over the top.
Awesome effort to get it over the top, then ran
into the open goal and then.

Speaker 1 (06:26):
Goes, oh, I have some of these ones. You can
have the ball, guys.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
Oh no, I'm going to keep a goal almost missed
by the way, almost missed, but he showed the opposition
the ball.

Speaker 1 (06:34):
What do we think about that? Let's I loved it.

Speaker 3 (06:36):
I think it's great, and I want to see more
players show their personality in different ways.

Speaker 4 (06:42):
I think it's fine. It's not really a disrespect thing. No,
I don't think you just he's just out there enjoying footy.
We want to see more flair, more personality, and we
get that with Guinea, who arguably has some of the
most personality in the competition.

Speaker 3 (06:53):
Yeah, and the whole sorry as the older generation, I
was a couple of weaper snappers not doing well.

Speaker 1 (07:01):
There's just for your head now. I loved it. I
loved it. I think we needed more of that.

Speaker 2 (07:04):
I think more celebrations, more anti sing than things like that.
And when the Hawks are playing at their best, that's
what they do. That's what they do, and the league's
gonna hate them. But you need a team to hate,
and you need a team to sort of that gets
on the nerves of other teams and that's how they
win sometimes. So I think I'm all for it. Every
good team is a bit of dog exactly, and the
Hawks definitely about dogs in this too much dogs?

Speaker 1 (07:25):
Too much dog?

Speaker 4 (07:26):
Can I say one more things dogs? We'll finish on
a positive note for dogs. Ed Richards has continued his
All Australian form.

Speaker 1 (07:34):
He was superb.

Speaker 4 (07:34):
He finished with twenty five and a goal. He was
by far probably the.

Speaker 1 (07:39):
Best Bulldogs player. He was all Australian. We're talking Edward.
I think he could. But can you fit a liver
as well in there? Red head? Don't know, We'll see
you well, have to see about that.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
I was actually we'll go talk about some all Australian
Midia Australia next couple of weeks.

Speaker 1 (07:53):
Actually, so check out the socials AFL today. Are you
all right? Friday night footy? Adelaide Oval, this is another cracker.

Speaker 2 (07:59):
Adelaide ten eight sixty eight defeated Brisbane eight goals fifteen
sixty three.

Speaker 1 (08:04):
Oh my god, what that will happen in this one?

Speaker 2 (08:06):
There?

Speaker 1 (08:06):
What the hell happened? What the hell? All right?

Speaker 3 (08:09):
That trend was last week? Mate, Alibatan still he's got
right now. Look, this was an arm wrestle for most
of the game. It was you know, wet conditions, high pressure, tackling,
you name it, anything to do with pressure. That was
this game. Brisbane got away a little bit in the
third quarter towards the end. Charlie Cameron got involved with
two goals in the third and their mids were getting

(08:30):
on top. I think their four main mods let the
disposal count in the third quarter, so they were just
slowly getting on top. And if you were a Crows fan,
you'll probably like with dice years could get away from us.
But five unanswered goals to start the last quarter for Adelaid.
I think Bill Forpe got one in the first minute,
ben Key's got two.

Speaker 1 (08:47):
He ended with twenty and three.

Speaker 3 (08:49):
I love watching he's a very he's underrated, but now
he's going into his role.

Speaker 1 (08:53):
We're noticing him. We've just talked a bit all Australian shack.
Could he possibly be a sneaky chance to be?

Speaker 3 (09:00):
Too many good small forwards as well in the conversation
is he Yes, he's definitely up there for a small
forward position. Just what he gives Adelaide is immense. Rachelle
also kicked three goals. He was really good and Dawson
with a crucial mark and goal late. The little specky
phil Thope will be in that poster, I think, Matthew
Nick said of the mark. Yes, but that was a
great goal as well. So that was a really important

(09:22):
part of the game because Adelaide took the chance that
most of their chances, and then on the flip side
Brisbane were like, now we're going to do the opposite.
They kicked eight behind in the last quarter. A couple
were out in the full, Zach Bailey.

Speaker 1 (09:37):
Not making the distance around the four.

Speaker 3 (09:39):
Yes, he got the high free which he played for
but it was there one got smothered as well. And
then he had a chance last minute and he sent
it to a terrible position. It was like five meters out.
They rushed it through countless repeat entries and they just
got They got nothing for it, didn't they.

Speaker 2 (09:55):
Yeah, it was actually Adelaide adjusted so well. So obviously
the lines kicked eight behind the last quarter. Adelaie kicked
zero six in the first quarter, so they and then
after that they were ten goals too. So they just
kicked so accurately. And we talked about it last week
on the show. There was like three games that were
decided from accurate kicking. You just can't be doing that.
Especially Brisbane have been very bit average for the last

(10:16):
couple of months. But that's okay, that's okay. You did
talk about them being wasteful. But Lea, you've been talking
up Adelaide's backline. You talked them up midweek as well.
What did you think about their performance.

Speaker 1 (10:25):
I thought they stepped up massively late.

Speaker 3 (10:28):
Their defensive unit I think has been exceptional for a
few weeks now. Mark Kean, Josh Warral Rory led to
name sort of the main th desk the desk. I
thought they all had huge moments when the game was
on the line. They were just putting their bodies in
the way, throwing their will at every contest.

Speaker 1 (10:45):
And then you have others who are underrated.

Speaker 3 (10:47):
You know, you know Mitch Hinge, mclaney, I know he's
not underrated, but Brodie Smith as the sub when he
came on was really important. It's just overall, the defensive
unit is a tough system to crack and I think
we've got to start talking that unit up as one
of the best in the competition. And I want to
end on this game with a question. Lads set the panel.

(11:07):
So Adelaide now have their second win against the top
nine side. It was in a close game. They've normally
smacked teams in wins this year.

Speaker 1 (11:14):
They normally win.

Speaker 3 (11:15):
I think it was fifty points that we said on
the preview show. Firstly, are they genuine contenders? Do we
rate them now as a contender and do we think
they're bigger contenders than the reigning premiers the Brisbane lines.

Speaker 2 (11:29):
Get a big big for your boots over there. It's
a question, that's my opinion, but you'll start with Marcus first. Yeah,
I think they generally are a contender.

Speaker 1 (11:37):
They are you found that one. They are a contender.

Speaker 2 (11:40):
No, they're top three in schools. You just said they've
only had two wins against top nine sides. They clearly
should have lost Brisbane could have won by a couple
of goals. I don't think they're contender, just just yeah,
they can be top fourth at the very best, I think.

Speaker 4 (11:54):
But I would say that they're not bigger contenders than Brisbane. Okay,
even though they're playing better football and the better team
at the moment in my opinion.

Speaker 3 (12:02):
Wouldn't that make them bigger contenders right now?

Speaker 2 (12:04):
No?

Speaker 4 (12:04):
I think come the end of the season they could
be peaking a little bit too early. Les you've got
to peak at the right time and Brisbane know exactly
how to do that.

Speaker 1 (12:12):
And towards the end of the season, I think they'll
come on strong.

Speaker 2 (12:14):
And you can't buy experience at seven eleven, can you?
So Adelaide don't have the finals experience. Brisbane know what
they're doing. They fakes had a good quote last week.
He was saying that they were arguably playing worse halfway
through last year. Remember there was a stage where they
were fakes out and all that. So they've still gone
all right at Brisbane. I think this was just a
bit of a blip in the last quarter.

Speaker 3 (12:34):
Can I just I don't know. I look at it.
We're halfway through the season and I don't want to
discredit Brisbane because they have been doing what they need
to do, but they've had sort of one super impressive performance.

Speaker 1 (12:45):
I agree.

Speaker 3 (12:46):
Look at Adelaide, I reckon that. You could list off
five six games where they've been the dominant side from
start to finish. They've been ruthless, and you bring up
their record against the top nine. They did lose to
Gold Coast by a point away. True, they to gather
around against Along.

Speaker 1 (13:01):
By three goals.

Speaker 3 (13:02):
I should have really held on too that one three
as well. Away they lost by three goals.

Speaker 1 (13:08):
So they're still hanging in there. Yeah, I get that's
the moment.

Speaker 3 (13:11):
I think Adelaide are above Brisbane as a flag contender
right now. What I've been Okay, what I will say
is I don't think I'm going to be saying that
in six weeks time.

Speaker 1 (13:23):
Well let's why don't we clip this up for six
weeks time.

Speaker 3 (13:27):
Brisbane can flip the switch and they'll be above them,
That's all I'm saying, So we go.

Speaker 2 (13:31):
Yeah, I don't mind ending that because we've got a
different different thoughts there all right, So Adelaide get the
job done. That was just a crazy finish. Just accurate kicking,
just just kick straight new win games. Pretty simple. It's
pretty simple, pretty simple, pretty simple anyway. Saturday mcg Richmond, Sydney.
Richmond four goals twelve thirty six, Sydney eleven goals, fourteen eighty. Lads,

(13:52):
just want to start on the top. We were wrong,
we were wrong.

Speaker 1 (13:55):
We've got to do an apology.

Speaker 3 (13:56):
We put a hand up here.

Speaker 2 (13:57):
We didn't even not even one of us got it wrong.
We all got it wrong, and Richmond got pants.

Speaker 3 (14:01):
The comments doesn't need to keep receipts for us because
we keep our own receipts exactly and we're all idiots,
so and we know that we weren't need to actually
engagement's good engagement.

Speaker 1 (14:12):
There was a bit of emotion.

Speaker 2 (14:13):
I reckon, we were keen on Richmond to win, and
it just did what didn't happen, and then.

Speaker 3 (14:17):
We just sort of base it off. Richmond losing by
ninety and Richmond almost beating GWS, but Sydney bounce back.

Speaker 2 (14:23):
Syney bounce back, so they needed this win. City they
really did. I thought they were really good, especially in
the second half. They mainly got this job. The job
done through the lizard Nick Blake thirty four disposals, seven intercepts.
One of you guys definitely brought it up on the
Thursday show saying that he will love the MCG, the
big space of the MCG. He can scurry like a
lizard across the ground.

Speaker 3 (14:42):
Think I think I said it was his most the most,
the player that needed to stand up the most. But
I think I also said in that he should have
played forward, So I'm not.

Speaker 2 (14:50):
Oh yeah, he did right and he dominated off half back,
but that's okay. And one guy that I just want
to massive shadow, I said it on Thursday's show. But
he was awesome again, Brodie Grundy. He is absolutely back.
He had nine in disposals, fifty one hit out, six tackles,
an awesome running gold and if you guys saw that
it was about to roll out, he tapped it in twice.
He showed it in the unicorn that everyone used to
call him, that he could just play like a midfielder.

(15:11):
That goal was awesome to spin a round kick it
from the goal square. Now it's his fifth straight game
of nineteen plus disposals, five plus clearances, and I think
thirty five plus hitouts. It's like Max Gorn type areas.
So it's back to his old days of a couple
of years ago, which is good to see.

Speaker 4 (15:24):
And he's not coming up against any bums either. He
was up against Toby named Curves, who he's not a mug.

Speaker 1 (15:30):
He's a very good player, very good ruckman. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (15:32):
The only thing I'll say on Nank and a few
other ruckmen, they they do well in terms of their
own stats. There's a few ruckmen in the comp they
they look like they're having a good season, but they
allow a lot of touches for the other Rocks.

Speaker 3 (15:44):
The shortest sky on this panel, what he played, it
was a great rock. Why don't you go down to
Richmond and showed Toby Nane Curves.

Speaker 1 (15:53):
How it's done. Actually might, actually might. You're going to
need the specky bag. I think I could. Yeah, I
could get a game? Yeah, why not?

Speaker 2 (16:00):
Definitely not on Richmond. They did bring the tackling pressure early.
It's very similar to their efforts sort of their games
before gather around where they dominate, not just dominate, but
they're really good in the first quarter and a half
and then they just fall off a cliff, so they
looked strong earlier they had Pressia back. I think with
Prestia and Toronto in the midfield, it looks one hundred
times better. Prestia has been great his first two couple
of games back. They combined for forty six disposals and

(16:22):
two goals, but most of that impact was in the
first quarter and a half, so that was a bit
of a worry that they're getting a bit older and
can't do with the four quarters soon.

Speaker 4 (16:30):
Pressure has called a great goal as well, two yeah
Kenny twice and then yeah but Richmond off the first
ten minutes. They need the boy to come very quick.
You could tell that young team they're a big.

Speaker 2 (16:43):
So they kicked three goals in the first quarter and
then their next goal wasn't until the last quarter and
it was almost three quarters time length that they didn't
kick goals.

Speaker 1 (16:51):
So Sceney kicked ten straight goals, ten unanswered goals.

Speaker 2 (16:53):
Which is absolutely incredible, Like it doesn't matter who you're
playing against. That's an awesome effort. A little shout out
to Alexi Jusi on the show is fa player. He's
got his little wristband beef Sheldic nine in disposal was
five clearances. We weren't sure if he was ready at
the start of the season for that AFL level. He's
gotten in out of the side, but he was awesome.
You got Robottom. We had fourteen tackles, nine tackles just
in the third quarter alone when they started going well.

(17:14):
I think we've talked him up before as like when
he was their skipper and when color Mills isn't playing
and things like that, underrated just in general.

Speaker 3 (17:21):
Underrated Koreer and I think when especially when Arrol's playing,
he really compliments that midfield, well, he sort of is
that defensive guy. That means that Heney and Chad and
Erroll can sort of just do their own thing and
be themselves. And if you've got Robottom there being the
one doing the grit and the unnoticed work, it makes
it a lot easier.

Speaker 1 (17:38):
Yeah, and we've usually been talking up the Green Shoots.
They didn't have.

Speaker 2 (17:41):
Their best game was against the experience of Sydney that
just stepped up.

Speaker 1 (17:44):
We got Seth Gamble still two goals. He's just kicking
all the nicely. He's kicked a lot.

Speaker 2 (17:47):
I think he's up to like twenty goals now, which
is exactly what you need from a young guy and
it's more forward. So few positives of Richmond early, but
massive positive for Dean Cox for Sydney Sydney fans. That's
the win. I know it was against Richmond and the
now seventeenth, but they just needed a big win just
to feel that confidence.

Speaker 1 (18:03):
Again.

Speaker 3 (18:03):
They would have gone into that into that game thinking
we could lose based off form, so we needed to
win because if we lost, Richmond have been on the
same points as Sydney. So that's what they did need
that win and they got it.

Speaker 1 (18:15):
Yeah, they got it, So fair play to Sydney.

Speaker 2 (18:16):
We were wrong and we'll keep still keep an eye
for the Richmond Green shoot because they're still gone right
as I mentioned Seth Campbell, all right, Saturday GMHBA Stadium
down at the category. Gelong nine goals seven sixty one,
Gold Coast five goals, seven thirty seven. This is one
of the games where there was a lot of rain
across Victoria.

Speaker 1 (18:33):
Across the weekend, there was a.

Speaker 3 (18:34):
Lot of rain and Gold Coast continues their streak not
winning at GMHBAH. They just struggled to convert from any territory.
I think there was a stage maybe in the second
that they were leading inside fifties, but Geelong being so
strong defensively in this game meant that Suns got really
nothing out of that. And I just always felt that
like the Cats were just spending him off all game,

(18:56):
keeping him at arm's length, being like, nah, we've got
this game pretty much. Controller not it's only four goals,
but you never felt.

Speaker 1 (19:03):
The wet for Geelong.

Speaker 2 (19:04):
It felt like a forty plus in the wet like
Geelong really like when I was watching it, like maybe
or maybe not forty maybe thirty five.

Speaker 3 (19:11):
It felt semantics, but it felt like a lot more
than forty seven and a half.

Speaker 2 (19:14):
Yeah, felling a lot more than four goals because in
the wet they just look so much better than Gods
could only get thirty seven, Geelong missed a few easy ones.

Speaker 1 (19:21):
They could add a few more, few more goals.

Speaker 3 (19:22):
Well, gold cost only got thirty seven, Max Homes got forty.
It was meggie huge, mega huge, mega huge, I've got
that in the run.

Speaker 1 (19:34):
Shit, that just doesn't make sense, but I love it.
I love it. Well.

Speaker 3 (19:38):
Bailey Smith was laid out, so he needed to be
the guy, and he was the guy. So, as I said,
forty disposals, ten clearances and just an absolute running machine.
He's everywhere in every crevice of that stadium.

Speaker 1 (19:50):
You find Maxime can Bailey Smith is back in the side.
What does that?

Speaker 4 (19:54):
Does that mean? When Bailey Smith's on the side, we're
not getting the best out of Max Holmes is.

Speaker 1 (19:57):
Probably needs to do. He's been good. He's been very good.

Speaker 3 (20:02):
Because I was because even if you had Bailey Smith,
I still think they've got a very like they've got
enough players in that midfield mix. They all have their
own role, they're all different strengths. So I think Bailey
Smith out, you still see Max Holmes, and whether he's
in or out, we will still see the best of Max.

Speaker 1 (20:19):
Maybe you'll still meeting up with Andrew Dylan and do
you see that that meet up? Y's got to keep
him under control.

Speaker 4 (20:26):
This has a role model, But I don't know, but
we'll still use you for all of our promos.

Speaker 1 (20:33):
Exactly. Yeah, very handsome man. He's probably asking about how
can he get a better haircut? I reckon Andrew doing
could rock ahead?

Speaker 2 (20:39):
Ben?

Speaker 3 (20:40):
Can he grow his hair out? That's another question.

Speaker 1 (20:42):
It's a wig.

Speaker 3 (20:43):
Anyway, from a son's perspective, they try They did try hard.
They showed effort, but I just don't think they had
a player that was anywhere near Max Holmes and being
so influential in the game.

Speaker 1 (20:56):
But stats guy, you did.

Speaker 3 (20:57):
You walked into the office today and you said, Leo,
I know you've got sons cats, but I need to
give this man a shout out because he was really
good and who wasn't.

Speaker 2 (21:04):
That is exactly what happened. Joel Jeffrey twenty five disposals,
nine interceps. I've loved his move to the back line
because he wasn't getting it done in the four, but
he would score goals in the VFL and coming to
the AFL couldn't get a touch. Since he's been moved back,
has been solid. But that's really good, really good in
the wet for a pretty tall guy to get nine
inter steps as well. So I was really happy with him.
And I'm happy the way Dimmers moved the Magnets a
little bit this season. I'm really happy with that one.

Speaker 3 (21:26):
And that's in a back line that has noble and.

Speaker 1 (21:29):
Yes, so yeah, they didn't do that much.

Speaker 2 (21:31):
I was surprised about because the little guys in the wet,
I don't know they're not, but I think especially Noble
he needs the Marvel roof for the sunny Gold Coasts
like he's not a wet weather type player.

Speaker 3 (21:42):
Real is not too bad, but he did have thirty
six in very slippery due it's hot.

Speaker 1 (21:48):
I don't know, I don't know. It just didn't look
right in the wet look right.

Speaker 4 (21:51):
Are you saying the Gold Coast Suns aren't good when
the sun isn't out?

Speaker 1 (21:55):
Yes, I am. Maybe that should change their name. Maybe
that should change.

Speaker 3 (22:00):
Okay, well, I think that's enough. On the terrible chat
with Marcus the Cats, I actually thought this was a
really strong win for the Cats. Was it, I guess
the most exciting game? But no Bads laid out, Dangers
sort of warming back into it, and Jess got nowhere
near as six touches zero goals, so you know, you
have Stangel come up with four goals, and just their
defense was strong as it could be, as sturdy as ever.

(22:23):
You know, likes of Stewart. I thought that was his
best game for the season. Henry was great, you know, O'Connor,
that's not kind of if you want, but O'Sullivan, Sullivan
and Humphries, you know these guys is fantastic. So I
thought that was a really important win for the Cats.

Speaker 2 (22:37):
Yep, definitely so yeah, important win for the Cats. Before
we get to the rest of the games, let's have
a break with stock it he leo quick question. Do
you know what the AX means?

Speaker 3 (22:45):
Do you mean AFLX?

Speaker 1 (22:47):
No? Mate, the AX the Australian Stock Exchange.

Speaker 3 (22:50):
Oh man, I'm absolutely clueless with that stuff.

Speaker 1 (22:52):
Wow. Lucky for you.

Speaker 2 (22:54):
Stock it as a free website that gives you everything
you need to know about punting stocks on the AX.

Speaker 1 (22:58):
Damn, that sounds poor good. Where do I check him out?

Speaker 2 (23:01):
Check it out via stock are dot com, dot you
and it's even easy for your little pea brain to understand.

Speaker 1 (23:06):
Damn.

Speaker 2 (23:07):
Saturday Night Mardica Oval Jews, Port Adelaide JWS seven goals,
eight fifty, Port Adelaide nine goals, twelve sixty six. What
an awesome result for Port Absolutely big bounce back, huge
shock result and a win on the road lights.

Speaker 1 (23:21):
That's an awesome f great win from Port Adelaide. Again,
we were wrong public public.

Speaker 2 (23:27):
I'm gonna do a big public apology later for the Locks.
That's like we'll get to that. I'm at a stinker.
This week, just in general. Last week, that's okay, We're
just we just did to entertain. I'll be better. I'll
be better next week. I'll be better next week, Jennibs.
They won in most stats, but Port were great at
hanging in there. They were better at scoring inside fifty.
They had twenty one shots to fifteen for the day.

(23:47):
Finished really strongly, especially in the second half. The main guy,
the man of the moment was Zach Butter's thirty two disposals,
twelve clearances.

Speaker 1 (23:55):
He was incredible.

Speaker 2 (23:56):
If you don't have him, mean your super super coach side,
if you don't have him on your TV when port
Adeletta playing, what are you doing?

Speaker 1 (24:01):
TV? Yeah, it's the photo of him, not even just
his highlights.

Speaker 2 (24:05):
I reckon Connor Rose was great as well, twenty eight,
but he kicked one goal three. I thought it might
be a little bit costly, but they still finished strong. Leo,
you mentioned this man on the Thursday show. We both
had a bit of back and forth about this guy,
Miles Bergman. He was instrumental. He was really good.

Speaker 1 (24:19):
I'll read him out.

Speaker 2 (24:19):
Twenty three disposals, three clearances, seven intercepts and he was
actually a bit fifty to fifty.

Speaker 1 (24:24):
Back line and midfield. Are you happy with him?

Speaker 3 (24:26):
I like that use of him because he's a very
good defender. I think underrated back there. But we talk
about not having Horn Francis, and even when Horn Francis
is back, I still like that split because it gives
them a different look because they have those three stars.
You've got Willem Drew and Ollie Wyanet are great players,
but you could argue it doesn't really give him a
porti of difference.

Speaker 1 (24:46):
I like it.

Speaker 3 (24:47):
Bergman can add a bit of poise, a bit of
class pressure as well, a bit of pressure that defensive
sort of do who can roll back?

Speaker 1 (24:54):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (24:54):
Well don't Ken?

Speaker 1 (24:55):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (24:55):
Can sign Hi?

Speaker 1 (24:58):
Is Ken going to another club? Come to Harthorne?

Speaker 2 (25:02):
No? Wait, Sam, there we go on the other side.
So JF this was a weird was very close, very
low scoring. It was a bit of crazy weather again
in minor cut Sam Taylor. He was unbelievable though. Is
he still the best fullback in the comp or what
do you guys think? I think so, but he it's
debatable over Australian overall.

Speaker 1 (25:22):
Is I believe?

Speaker 4 (25:23):
But Martine you mentioned that back. I think over the
past month I think he's probably been the best key defender.

Speaker 2 (25:29):
Imagine I was talking about the Adelaide defense or Marquine
at the start of the season compared to Santello.

Speaker 3 (25:34):
That is what Billy Frampton. No, No, I'm actually being serious.

Speaker 1 (25:38):
Well the last three weeks, yeah, but not for the season.
On Santala, I think he is.

Speaker 3 (25:42):
But is he all Australian is a different question.

Speaker 1 (25:45):
No, I don't think it's a lot. No, it's going
to be a big debate.

Speaker 2 (25:48):
Fullback is always a big debate in Australia. I think
he's right up there, but maybe not Australia just yet.

Speaker 1 (25:53):
But he was awesome. Nine in disposed was sixteen intercepts ninetysposed.

Speaker 3 (25:57):
Of fifteen intercepts from nineteen touches.

Speaker 1 (25:59):
It's crazy.

Speaker 2 (26:00):
So I think he had a few off the hands,
few intercept marks as well. He was awesome, but he
was holding the minute so the defense was really holding
them down here until the last quarter where Port sort
of kicked away a little bit.

Speaker 1 (26:10):
But the big one here, Jediburst's forward nine is the
one I'm worried about.

Speaker 2 (26:14):
Jesse Hogan went goalless last week, two goals this week,
which isn't horrible, but we all talked him up as
having a big game. Port Adelaide back line had been
horrible against all forwards. Radigalleia did a really good job
on him, and a few of them did well covering fantastic.
Were a little bit worried about Jesse because this is
the game where he should be bouncing back and kicking
at least four in my opinion.

Speaker 3 (26:31):
Yeah, I thought he was going to have a big game,
so I raised my hand. I was wrong with that one.
And I just think, Yeah, you mentioned the forwards, they're
not getting there soon. Army into that forward long either.

Speaker 4 (26:41):
No, and I think you talked about Jesse Hogan, I think,
and the experienced players look Josh Kelly. Yeah, in that
last quarter, they missed shots that would either get them
in front or bring them back.

Speaker 1 (26:51):
Within a couple of points. Yep.

Speaker 4 (26:53):
So that's when you need your experience players like which
Gibius had an abundance of throughout that game. But it
was actually the power youngsters and youth and exuberants that
got them over the line because the word Christian Marius
who was the sub, and Joe Richards were the two
late goal goal.

Speaker 2 (27:10):
Yeah, so that's what you need. It was actually really
good because we've talked up Port Adelaide all year. They're
big names, their their stars, their experienced players doing everything,
so it's good to see them get the young guys
exactly right, do a bit of do a bit of
the job of the dirty work. So on their scoring
power Jews, they only had one goal in the second half,
which never happens with this team.

Speaker 1 (27:28):
They're usually pretty good at finishing and kicking a lot.

Speaker 2 (27:30):
Of goals, and five of their last eight games they've
scored eighty one points or less. So I'm really really
worried about their forward line and just not kicking enough
goals because that's what the tsunami usually is. They can
kick a hundred points easily, so a bit of a
worry there. Toby Green as well. He was subbed at
half time. I don't know if you guys saw any update,
but it was a corked glute issue.

Speaker 4 (27:47):
He looked like he got sure. Yeah, he was pulling
out the Mitch marsh. She was so painful though, I
would not want to go it did look it did
look pretty pretty rough.

Speaker 1 (27:56):
Yeah, so that's not good. Oh, were we going to
say something? Yes?

Speaker 3 (27:59):
Sorry, I was I was gonna wait for you to
finish or good. I just want to go through the
Giants next few games. Sure, let's we're talking about them
being terrible and give our flowers support Adelaide, who were great.
But they've got Brisbane, Gold Coast, West Coast who they
should win, and then Geelong.

Speaker 2 (28:15):
So one of their next four they'll probably win. But
knowing JWS, we need to win they beat Geelong, we
need to win three of those. They beat along at
the category. I'm not even kidding. They have a chance
against Brisbane, chance against Brisbane.

Speaker 1 (28:27):
But they're not beating Geelong.

Speaker 3 (28:29):
Yeah, they're not beating Geelong even though they just beat
the categories. Yeah, but haven't been very good at home
this year. They've lost a couple at Energy.

Speaker 2 (28:37):
Now they're five and twelve in their last seventeen at Monica,
which is a real worry because you go there it
was sort of like North or Hawks, even down in
Lawncessant North, Like if you're having a home away from home,
you want it to be a fortress. Five and twelve
is just a it's a real worry because it's not
easy to play in those conditions over there, and you
can't keep losing like that.

Speaker 1 (28:54):
You should be used to it by now as our
Gold Coast in Darwin. So a little bit of a
worry there for g WS.

Speaker 2 (28:59):
Al Right, some a Sunday Funday game of the round, No,
not the game of the round, but this is that
hands over in Bumbary, North Melbourne taking on West Coast.
North Melbourne nine goals eight sixty two, get the job done.
West Coast six goals sixteen fifty two. Don't know how
we got the job done, Marcus, but we did there.

Speaker 1 (29:15):
We go four. North Maulbourne is the only team to
win at Bumbrey. Yeah if your teams won a bumbery.

Speaker 5 (29:22):
Leads no negative, Yeah, that's all right right the Monday
Funday but you got there just about four goals five
to one goal two in the final quarter.

Speaker 4 (29:33):
Yet another game decided by inaccuracy and poor kicking. Goal
kicking from West Coast Chiefs. It was West Coast had
thirty four thirty four inside fifties before they kicked their
first goal of the game. That was courtesy of Jack Williams.
He played quite well, actually finished with a couple he did.

Speaker 1 (29:52):
Miss them, did miss That was zero eight or nine
to start the game as well.

Speaker 3 (29:57):
I reckon they kicked more out in the full goals hmmm, well.

Speaker 1 (30:01):
Then they had six. Yeah, maybe the fall like in Bumbary.

Speaker 4 (30:07):
But it was arguably the worst half of all time,
only the worst game of all time, Let's be honest.
It was twenty one to fourteen at halftime in favor
of North Melbourne.

Speaker 1 (30:17):
Pretty much.

Speaker 2 (30:18):
Paul Curtis first West Coast in the first half he
was winning, wasn't he a halftime it was two goals?

Speaker 1 (30:23):
Was one?

Speaker 4 (30:24):
I think just lost to West Coast first half got
but West Coast did dominate that first half. They dominated
probably three quarters of that game, first three quarters of
that game, but West Coast a twenty two more inside fifties.
But the clearance was they just really got dominated. They
got to at a lesson there in the middle, particularly
in the last quarter. Clearance count ended up forty two

(30:47):
to twenty four in favor of North Melbourne and.

Speaker 1 (30:50):
That was led largely by Jerry, the best right of
the company.

Speaker 3 (30:57):
Stephen May arguing with him after the game.

Speaker 4 (30:59):
Jerry, Yes, But Jerry had twenty two disposals, ten clearances
and thirty seven hitouts. He eclipsed one fifty plus in
super coach for those who play along the home. But
I thought also from a North Melbourne point of view
to add on, Zuhar was actually caught impressive, but particularly

(31:22):
in the air. I thought he was huge throughout that
that game, especially in that last quarter where he kicked
two goals. Yep, he took three contested mark six marks
of the game and another one caught your liam as
a North Yeah.

Speaker 2 (31:33):
So we got Cheese was finally playing on the ball
a little bit for but mainly on the ball. He
had twenty eight disposals, seven tackles and most North players
didn't do much for the first three quarters. I was
so disappointed just I just wanted to bring that up
as a North fan, really disappointed how we went about that. Yes,
very very happy with the win because we don't get
to win very often. But I couldn't believe that. But
Sheezel finally found his role and Lea, You've.

Speaker 1 (31:54):
Got a few points on that one.

Speaker 3 (31:55):
It was Kane Colin's right. He was Kan let him
back in the.

Speaker 1 (32:01):
In the rooms, you dug he was right all along.

Speaker 3 (32:05):
Was same with Sheeesel is probably your best player and
he's playing his best. Put him in the guts that's
where he get to work, and he did in the
second half, and I think Clarko should step aside and
just let Corns run the team.

Speaker 1 (32:20):
Why not.

Speaker 2 (32:21):
I'm happy that Clarko finally is not putting the magnets around.

Speaker 1 (32:25):
We talked about this before the show later.

Speaker 2 (32:26):
That he's been putting your cheesel defense midfield forward, like
just keep him somewhere, and he was mainly in the
midfield on the weekend and same as a few other
guys were mainly defense or mainly forward. Need a bit
of synergy there rather than just changing it all up.
So Clarko finally come to.

Speaker 3 (32:40):
Hisself when North Fancis should just be thinking Corns.

Speaker 2 (32:43):
We absolutely daylight robbery that was to.

Speaker 1 (32:47):
Take the four points to move on.

Speaker 4 (32:48):
But positive for the West Coast is that they put
in yet another strong performance.

Speaker 3 (32:53):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (32:53):
Despite as a West Coast fan though you you'd be
super kicking yourself. You'd be so they could have won.
But if they play lock this again throughout the season,
I'm sure they'll win another couple of games.

Speaker 2 (33:04):
Yes, North Melbourne jump Richmond surprisingly even though we probably
say spoon avoid the spoon, so probably yeah, West Coast
of locked in the spring.

Speaker 1 (33:12):
Sad sadly for the Eagles fans.

Speaker 2 (33:13):
But as we talked about the last couple weeks, still
green shoots coming through, including the likes of Jack Williams.

Speaker 1 (33:18):
I thought a lodg of Hewett as well was won.

Speaker 2 (33:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (33:20):
So well as a young and up in coming midfielder.

Speaker 4 (33:23):
He show that multiple stages against my mob the Bombers,
he played really well.

Speaker 1 (33:26):
It's got a bit of class about him. He does,
he does, so he's one to look out for for
the rest of the year.

Speaker 2 (33:29):
Good call, all right, get around my beloved ruse Sunday
at night at the mcg is the next one. Carlton Essidon,
Carlton eleven goals twelve seventy eight, get the job done
over the Bombers eleven goals for seventy leo.

Speaker 3 (33:42):
The Bombers got jumped again, I know, first against Brisbane
and now against the Blues.

Speaker 1 (33:47):
Look, the Blues were everywhere early on in this game.

Speaker 3 (33:49):
I think it was forty to seven a quarter time
and that one Essendon goal remind me who that came from?

Speaker 1 (33:54):
Snuts guy.

Speaker 2 (33:55):
The one Escident goal early was Luell. He was awesome.
Four Bombers players. Now I've actually kicked their first goal
from their first kick in AFL footy this season.

Speaker 1 (34:04):
Four. That never happens a.

Speaker 3 (34:06):
Lot of Essenon debutantes because of the injuries this season.

Speaker 1 (34:09):
Yeah, still four is very impressed.

Speaker 2 (34:12):
They've actually, like a few of them, probably came in
a bit earlier than they wanted because you've had so
many injuries, but they've all made a little bit of impact,
which I think is a good sign for bombas Fins.

Speaker 1 (34:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (34:19):
I thought this was a classic winter game of football.

Speaker 1 (34:22):
It was. It was scrappy, but not ugly.

Speaker 3 (34:25):
It's just one of those sort of contests ones where
a lot of fifty to fifty balls and I thought
just ultimately the Blues were up for those tougher contests
more when the game was on the line as well,
even when Essendon came late the last quarter of the
Blues stood up. Look, the Essene Mids did get going.
They as I mentioned, got jump, but Martin Cordwell got
into their groove.

Speaker 1 (34:45):
They sort of led that fight back a bit.

Speaker 3 (34:47):
But when the game was on the line in the
last quarter and he had a great game, Tom za Coning,
Oh what a performance. Twenty three disposals, he kicked a goal,
thirty nor twenty nine hit outs and each set the
Blues up countless times. He set up you know, the
likes of terror Hewitt Walsh crips and it was just
a silver service sort of display from him and.

Speaker 1 (35:10):
What he wants.

Speaker 4 (35:11):
He did something on the weekend that I haven't seen
any player in.

Speaker 1 (35:16):
The history of the game. But that's not true. Kick
it on the fall from a boundary, throwing into the
second tier. I did see it. Yeah, that was weird.
That was a very weird moment. He's gone for goal, right,
it was it was like seventy It was like seventy
seventy from goal.

Speaker 3 (35:31):
And he just I was at the game and close.

Speaker 1 (35:35):
It's crazy.

Speaker 3 (35:36):
But yeah, overall I thought de cooning was was really good.

Speaker 1 (35:40):
Was really good.

Speaker 2 (35:41):
I want to bring up boys. Zach Merritt now we
love him. He's been a little bit up and down
the last couple weeks. His movement and where he's playing
is changing. What do you think about his role at
the moment later.

Speaker 3 (35:50):
Well, we talked about it on the Thursday of the
previous show. That Merit averages his least amount of disposals
against cart when any other side, and he got fourteen
up was on him tagging him. I thought Uncott did
a great job, but Merritt only had eight center bounds attendances.
What the hell which is the fifth most of the
Bomber mids. I want to throw a question to my

(36:12):
resident Bomber mates mates.

Speaker 1 (36:14):
A loose term, yes thoughts, What were.

Speaker 3 (36:18):
Your thoughts on that? And would you continue with that
sort of setup where he's playing a bit more on
the flanks.

Speaker 4 (36:25):
Look, I know they're trying to get the best. We
have a lot of those sort of midfielders that all
midfield time, but you can't sacrifice that time when it's
Zach Meher at the leading of your club. I know
he's probably the first to be like look was all
gone half back, especially a young half back line as
well with all our injuries and.

Speaker 1 (36:43):
Sort of solidify.

Speaker 4 (36:44):
I think it's more just because of the injuries and
we need a bit more experience down there, and because
of his such a good kick, they put him at
half back. But then again we saw it inst Brisbane.
He turned the ball over a little bit against Carlton.
You did the same thing, trying to pull off something
that was a bit too hard too and then turned
it over. But I was surprising with the lack of
center bounds attendance is because in that meeting that he

(37:05):
had with all the Esmond Greats, a lot of that
was talking about, and he talks to christ Judd as
well about how to get rid of or how to
cope with a TAGA. So this would have been the
perfect perfect game where he's actually copping a tag to
stick in the middle bit more where the Bombers need him.

Speaker 3 (37:21):
And also Jinkotta is not a center bounds player, so
it was on the flanks. It is like that Chinkotta
can line up at either flank. That's no issue.

Speaker 2 (37:28):
Yeah, I don't care how many good midfielders the Bombers have.
We we've talked about that that they have some solid midfielders.
Colbo was playing well, even said field solid. You've got
to put your best player in their best position. I
don't understand that from Bradsko.

Speaker 3 (37:40):
At the end of the day, if you're a Bomber fan,
you don't want to look at the stat sheet and
Merritts had fourteen disposals. If he's had fourteen and he's
played in the midfield, then you go, Okay, he's had
an off night. But I just don't think he was
utilized that well.

Speaker 2 (37:54):
And this was a huge win for the Blues. They
needed this because they were the bottom four. I feel
the bottom teams were catching them, which is really surprising,
so they really need that one. Even the likes of
Jesse Motlock stood up. We were a bit worried about
how he was going to go.

Speaker 3 (38:06):
He kicked a couple of goals, he stood up, he
missed one late, and then the Bombers started coming and
I thought, are they gonna Are they going to go
for him because Blues fans they have a bit of
a love hate relations Jesse. Yes, but no, he was deadly.

Speaker 2 (38:18):
He was he was So Blues get the win by
eight points. The Bombers tried their best for the comeback,
but just started slowly. Let's get into Monday at the MCG. Actually,
before we do, we're going to get into our ice
bath challenge. Leo was was frosty over there, So let's
look at mine.

Speaker 1 (38:32):
Oh you were fine.

Speaker 2 (38:33):
Fine, I don't know about that. Let's have a look
at it right now and make sure you donate as well.
King's Birthday Monday, Melbourne, Collingwood ten goals, eleven seventy one Forlourne.
Collingwood eleven goals, six seventy two, another one point win.
Now that's specifically Marcus on this one. Melbourne's inaccuracy last week.

(38:58):
Have they done it again in Collingwood? They just wasfishent
inside fifty Marcus.

Speaker 1 (39:02):
It was the game of the round. It was a
game of inches.

Speaker 4 (39:04):
There was a touch right on the line from throw
strip shot from fifty out.

Speaker 2 (39:10):
But she is the hardest in the league to pronounce.
That went over my head Holton strip three or four.

Speaker 3 (39:18):
Times in around Cotton post poster.

Speaker 1 (39:21):
Oh my god. I don't know what was more impressive, Leo.
All that game we boys, was that the game of
the season so far? Collin was another game good, great
game of the season. I'm going to say it's top three.

Speaker 3 (39:34):
I think Collingwood along still for mine.

Speaker 4 (39:36):
But it was, yeah, great game, and I think we
talked about how Collen would just know how to win
those close games.

Speaker 1 (39:43):
It was Melbourne who on the other end of the
stick didn't really know.

Speaker 4 (39:47):
They had a lot of panic kicks in that last quarter,
particularly last ten minutes, highlighted by big Maxie Gorn trying
to pull off a talk in the final thirty seconds
and didn't pull off, and and there was the game.

Speaker 2 (39:58):
But maybe cracked it at him for that late turnover.
How much do we read into that, boys, it was
a little bit of I think everyone can see in
the footy world that. I don't know if May is
the epitome of great blokes, but Max Gorn was probably
one of their best players. He stuffs up at the end,
yet he clearly wasn't trying to do that. He's their captain,
He's never done anything bad like he hardly ever stuffs up.

(40:20):
So I was a bit disappointed Stephen Man. And it
wasn't it wasn't only It wasn't only Max Gorne. He
pulled off those sword of kicks.

Speaker 4 (40:25):
I remember Max Gorn took an intercept mark down and
d fifty hand passed it off and one of the
more experienced defenders might have been jud mcvh. Even tries
to he kicks it straight in the corridor, straight to
where Darcy Cameron was, straight into his chest, no Melbourne
player in sight. But nevertheless Langdon was tag decos. Yep,

(40:45):
did he get the best out of that tag. Nick
Dacos ended with nineteen disposals, eight clearances and a goal.
Langdon himself had four disposals, six tackles and four three
kicks against. I'm going to pose it to you boys,
did the tag work. I don't think it did well.

Speaker 2 (41:01):
I'll say it does because Nick Dakos, He's probably had
eleven touches, then eleven touches less than he usually does.

Speaker 1 (41:06):
He's had at least three clearances less than he usually does.

Speaker 3 (41:09):
He's the same amount he'd have at least ten or.

Speaker 1 (41:11):
Eleven clearances a game. He kicked the goal, and the
goal was a fifty meter penalty.

Speaker 2 (41:14):
That was Cosey's fault. Because Cosey gave away a lot
of free kicks. I reckon he yet gave away four
or five as well. So I'm going to say overall,
Langdon did a solid job. I think he was playing
unfair a lot of the game.

Speaker 1 (41:25):
I think that. I'm just saying that. I think I
think the rubb of the green with the umpires, but
in terms of Langdon was grabbing him.

Speaker 3 (41:33):
Think he played unfair. He had four freeze again, so
then he copped his white right whack for it.

Speaker 1 (41:38):
That's true.

Speaker 2 (41:39):
But all I'm saying is it worked because Nick Dacos
would I think usually have more impact on the game work,
but they still lost by one point and they played
better than the second It was one point though.

Speaker 3 (41:49):
I think it throws midfield structure out of the whack
as well, especially when you lose so.

Speaker 1 (41:53):
Fair as well. But maybe perhaps he should have tagged
the other day.

Speaker 4 (41:56):
Course it was Josh who ended up with the best
on ground all for the game, thirty four disposals. He
was superb and he's again he's just having another great
underrated year and we'll see him on that all Australian
wing spot come the end of the I think, I
think who else is on the wing? I feel like

(42:17):
you put Richards on ball?

Speaker 1 (42:18):
No he's not. Richard isn't fitting in the team. I
don't know where this started. I don't know mcluggage. There's
two wing spots, Mclugga's and Dacos. I think Richard's. That's
a debate.

Speaker 3 (42:28):
Let us not on the comments. Let us know in
the every Pie Is fan right now is sending me
fair enough?

Speaker 1 (42:34):
Fair enough?

Speaker 4 (42:35):
On the Melbourne front, they were actually very very respectable
throughout the game. In the first half they put their
tactics on the board to a t but Colin was accuracy.

Speaker 1 (42:45):
We talked about it.

Speaker 4 (42:45):
They led it half time by eight points, despite you know,
probably not having the best of starts. They kicked six
goals too in that first half. But in the second
half the game began to open up in a basketball
like contest.

Speaker 1 (42:58):
I love that, loved it. Explained it was just end
to end. It was constant. It was a lot of
tree not quite for an hour. Halibut hit a game winner.
I don't know too soon starts, but a thunderfan they
won today. It's all good. You would you should know that.

Speaker 4 (43:17):
Because not NBA, Piggot and Fritch they sort of when
the ball hit the death, they were the most dangerous.

Speaker 1 (43:24):
In the second half.

Speaker 4 (43:25):
They just went off a little bit, particularly in the
third quarter. In the early stage of the last quarter
they kicked six goals between them, six goals too in fact.

Speaker 1 (43:33):
But Fritch another.

Speaker 4 (43:35):
Little mistake which possibly looking back on it now, he
wouldn't have played on and kicked a point after he
had the shot twenty meters straight out in front. But
Gorn again, he just dominated the rock battle against Cameron.
But Cameron did have his moments, particularly in that last quarter.
It was quite a few inter set marks Yep, he
stood up in the big occasion, as he does so

(43:56):
far in Collingwood Jumper. Gorne finished with forty three hit
outs to nineteen for Cameron and six clearances to two.

Speaker 1 (44:03):
And two sprays from Stephen May. And yeah, it was
a good battle.

Speaker 3 (44:07):
I think that Rock Battle in recent years has always
been fun to watch because Darcy Cameron is sneakily up
there as the top.

Speaker 2 (44:14):
Yeah, but you got this is what I said before,
you got Cherry and Gorn and then the rest right
now in terms of consistency, like you look at the stats,
everyone goes, uh, Nan Curvis is really good.

Speaker 1 (44:25):
He's having very similar stat lines and Cameron. Now, think
it's as big of a gap as you.

Speaker 2 (44:31):
I think you've got Cherry Gorn, big gap, yes, sorry,
other than then you got t D Cap and then
you've got Nank Curvis, Camerons and me.

Speaker 1 (44:42):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (44:42):
I think there's a there's a bit of a big
gap from the top two or three. Yes, yeah, last, yeah.

Speaker 1 (44:46):
I'm probably missing someone too. Yeah, Goldie, Goldie. I don't
know about Goldie, but yeah, it always is fun with
watching those tools.

Speaker 4 (44:52):
So let's see where these teams end up on the
ladder after this round stuffs got Yes.

Speaker 1 (44:57):
Let's get right into the ladder.

Speaker 2 (44:58):
Good work there, we've got calling are absolutely flying on top,
very very handy with that one point win, because now
they're a game and a half above on top of
the ladder, so they'd be absolutely loving that.

Speaker 1 (45:08):
You've got the Cats. They've jumped the Suns into the
top four.

Speaker 2 (45:10):
I was a bit worried about him a month and
a half ago, didn't think they were playing their best,
but they've been absolutely flying now up into fourth.

Speaker 1 (45:16):
You've also got three zero now in eighth. The Dogs
had just dropped.

Speaker 2 (45:19):
Down there a game out of the eight still, which
is a little a little bit of a worry Carlton.
They were in the top sorry, bottom four. They've jumped
up to eleventh, so that's the least promising.

Speaker 1 (45:27):
Can they push for the final part of the ladder.
It's a weird one.

Speaker 3 (45:30):
It was ten to fifteenth is that's an absolute mumble
at this stage.

Speaker 2 (45:33):
Yeah, ten to fifteenth is just one game, so it's sorry.
Ninth to fifteenth is one game, so that's a bit
of a strange one. You've got Melbourne and Port fourteenth
and fifteenth disappointing for their clubs because you think they'd
be a bit higher up, and you've got the bottom three.
I don't think that's going to change for the rest
of the season. You've got North jumping above Richmond. They
could to toss and turn throughout the whole the rest
of the season probably, and you got West Coast at

(45:54):
the bottom.

Speaker 1 (45:55):
I think that's locked in for the Wooden spoon Lets.
Yet we think agreed, agreed.

Speaker 2 (45:58):
All right, that's the ladder chair. Let's get into the
tipping results. Lead does want to talk about this one?

Speaker 1 (46:03):
He got four? What are you doing, mate? Come on,
Bomber's first quarter terrible? Let me down. Yeah, that wasn't
a horrible tip eight points.

Speaker 3 (46:10):
We all tip Richmond, and we all tip giants, and
we all.

Speaker 2 (46:12):
Tip most people tip giants. Most people didn't tip Richmond,
but no, we got on them.

Speaker 1 (46:17):
We got a better tip dogs.

Speaker 4 (46:19):
Yeah, that wasn't too bad. But myself and stat's going
up in five, so it's not too bad. We could
walk away with our head tail high.

Speaker 1 (46:26):
Yeah five, All right, just wait till we get to
the locked results. We're doing lock results that hard. I reckon,
we do results. Leo great great locker five.

Speaker 3 (46:36):
Minutes into the game.

Speaker 1 (46:38):
Plus Marcus kats win, Cats win, don't lose that GM
HBO business.

Speaker 2 (46:43):
Nothing but Dad's side and stats guy's lock North to
win wasn't it was a lock? No, I said, jaw Win,
what are you doing?

Speaker 1 (46:50):
Giants? I'm never tipping you again? And his locksmith they
just walked up to the Mcmonika oval and they unpicked
the lock. Last two weeks in a row. Who says
their job after that? Me or Ken Inklin Ken Clanya
Ken already has a facession when.

Speaker 3 (47:09):
Marcus Gerald actually he's coming back our producer.

Speaker 1 (47:13):
Oh my god.

Speaker 4 (47:14):
Anyway, I will be studying a lot this week. I
need to have a good lock, because that is really
if you get three looks wrong in a row, we
have to do something. Come on, yeah, I agree quick.

Speaker 3 (47:27):
I love this job.

Speaker 2 (47:29):
Big coal results. Let's swiftly move past the locks. Big
coal results.

Speaker 1 (47:32):
My one.

Speaker 2 (47:33):
I just want to touch on it. Tim Tranto wasn't
too bad, twenty five disposals and a goal. I had
him for twenty five and two goals. He actually played
really well. I just couldn't find that second goal, so
I was a.

Speaker 1 (47:42):
Bit frustrated there. Leo. Yeah, I think you need to stop.
This is what I was going to bring this up.

Speaker 2 (47:46):
You need to stop saying Harley read for big calls
because he hasn't been that good.

Speaker 1 (47:50):
I love him.

Speaker 3 (47:51):
Yeah yeah, well I said for reference twenty and two,
nineteen and nothing. He had a point we should have kicked.

Speaker 1 (47:56):
It doesn't matter. You missed me. That was the whole
West coast.

Speaker 3 (48:00):
Yeah, soh but he's a bit underwe Everyone hates him
and says his attitudes crap.

Speaker 1 (48:06):
But I love him, that's okay. I had the all
Australian ed Richard's future All Australian.

Speaker 4 (48:11):
You were bloody close. I had him for thirty disposals
and a goal. He finished with twenty.

Speaker 1 (48:14):
Five and a goal sixteen at half time. Yeah I know.
He finished with nine disposals in the second half. Watch
this space next week when we get all that predictions right.
Just just watch you say that every week.

Speaker 3 (48:24):
Maybe maybe let's just say we're never getting one right
again for the season and then we smoke him.

Speaker 2 (48:30):
Yeah, the floodgates, the fludgates will be open, all right, game,
whatever you guys say best on ground of the week.

Speaker 1 (48:35):
We'll leave this one to Leo. We've had some controversial
ones over the last couples a half. Oh, we'll see.
I feel like i've best maybe maybe for the Team
of the Round. Yeah, actually maybe it was the Team
of the Round Leo best on Grand of the Week.

Speaker 3 (48:45):
One vote be Grundy Ninety disposals, fifty one hit outs
and the goal. And we've just been talking about Sydney
players eating the step up and he's done it for
a month and a half now, so yep, he was fantastic.
To who votes t Daconning twenty three disposals, a goal
and just an insane impact and they might be city

(49:06):
fans watching going wide and Grundy do better than Daconing
because you could argue on stat wise that Gundy did
Daconing did it. I think in it when the game
was on the line, Sydney was a bam effet were
fantastic and Daconing sort of said in the last quarter
I'm gonna sort of lead this charge for my team
when Essendon were coming to.

Speaker 1 (49:26):
That's the reasoning.

Speaker 3 (49:26):
There good reasoning reason Nick could still have a crack
at mis Swan's fans and the comments. I'm fine with
that three votes, m Holmes.

Speaker 1 (49:34):
He's got it off for me. Forty disposals. Just he
was the main guy.

Speaker 3 (49:38):
And the Sun's midfield is so bloody good. You've got
Raw Anderson, Miller, you know flanners can roll through there.

Speaker 1 (49:44):
Bailey Humphrey has been good this year.

Speaker 3 (49:45):
It's a bloody good midfield with no Bailey Smith. Holmes
has just run the show in there. And I don't
think Raw, Miller and Anderson combined their three bits of
impact did not equal what Max Holmes fantastic. I'm Maxie boy.

Speaker 1 (50:01):
So we were the Gold Coast players. You could say
he was left home alone.

Speaker 3 (50:06):
They were left home alone, proper English please, but as
Max Holmes, so he was left I think you meant
like the sons were left home. I thought the sons
are left home alone in where.

Speaker 2 (50:20):
I tried to pull up a also where Zach Butter's on,
you come on? I wanted Dak Butters in there, reckon
maybe over one of the rucks.

Speaker 1 (50:26):
But really he was unbelievable, he was. But I don't stiff.
It's it's a good list. It's a good list.

Speaker 2 (50:31):
I gave reasoning, So congratslate Maxie Holmes three votes there
to win full credit the best team of the round. Now,
I don't think I've agree with your last couple of weeks, MICUs,
So we need a good showing here.

Speaker 1 (50:41):
Are there any.

Speaker 6 (50:41):
Losers unlike last West Coast get in here? So I'm
like last week, I don't have a losing team in
the vote. Melbourne sneaky like back the last.

Speaker 1 (50:52):
Week when I put Richmond as one vote against. Yeah,
way should I chuck Melbourne? And here is it now?
I won't do that.

Speaker 4 (50:59):
One vote goes to the a Crows Crum a crom
They were very, very good, although they probably should have
lost that game, but they did get the job done,
so credit to them. They got the four points in
the bad against against the top the top four side.

Speaker 1 (51:16):
Well there you go. So they needed to, you know,
shut up a little bit of doubterers from the outside
saying they don't beat the big teams, and they did that.

Speaker 4 (51:23):
Two votes goes to the h Hawks H Hawk where
their backs up against the wall at Marvel. A lot
of spotlight on them, Sicily and Wizard out two big
outs obviously without will Day as well the Dogs. A
lot of talk about the Dogs, particularly at Marvel. They
had that fantastic record at Marvel where they won nine
on the trot but the Hawks made it four on

(51:45):
the trot against the dogs, so I want to give
them the two points.

Speaker 1 (51:47):
And three boy three voices three.

Speaker 4 (51:53):
It could it could be three vaults power for people
sitting the GWS giant away from home.

Speaker 1 (52:02):
Let's be honest.

Speaker 4 (52:02):
We thought Jesse Hogan would out school put Adelaide. That
could be one of the bigger calls.

Speaker 1 (52:08):
Confident on that.

Speaker 4 (52:09):
Yeah, but you know they've been bad, but when they
play good, they deserve their flowers. So for me, port
Adelaide were the best team of the round.

Speaker 1 (52:17):
No, I really respect you've come in. You've done the research,
You've done a good job on best team in the round.
So I'm very happy. I've done my research. I saw
who won the most. Yeah, that's that's what we need
to do. Last week though, Yeah, Richard, I'm standing by this.
Richmond deserved a vote. He went to lose the last week.
That's all good. That will do us for the AFL
