mega huge, Marcus.
Speaker 4 (00:10):
And I'm looking at someone to have forty disposals in
back to back games? Was it Tom Mitchell, Garyblue? I
don't know, but I think it's gonna be Maxim's.

Speaker 4 (00:56):
I can do the I can do the j from
in between his motorbike.
Speaker 2 (01:01):
That sounded like homing with the chainsaw? Is that the
Charlie Cameron. Yeah, Charlie Cameron hasn't done that much this year.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
All right, round thirteen previous here we go.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
The buyer is actually for Richmond, Collingwood, Sydney and Gold Coast.
Speaker 2 (01:57):
So a few less games this week, but still a
lot of good footy.
Speaker 1 (02:00):
So at around thirteen will start on Thursday Night Saint
Kilda versus the Western Bulldogs Thursday night, seven thirty at
Marvel Stadium. Lea, you love Saint Kilda and you love
tipping of it. I don't know if you're gonna do
that this week.
Speaker 3 (02:11):
I love Saint Kild, but I want to start in
the Dogs here. So obviously, off the bye they lose
to Hawthorne. It was a bit of an off game
off post by Blues. I think we sort of labeled it.
So I want to see their bounce back in this one.
You know, liber didn't have a disposal in the last
quarter of last week? Can he step up? Bot wasn't
at his blistering best. Even though he was still pretty good.
(02:31):
And Norton is another one I want to see Lyft against.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
Probably it's a strong back line, but not the strongest
of back lines. So yeah, who want who does Wilkie
go to?
Speaker 3 (02:40):
I think Wilkie goes to Norton because I think Doogle
goes to Sam. Darcy's in the side. This is a
huge in for the Dogs. I think he injured himself
the last time these two teams played, which is Round
six this season, So he's back for the SA Saints
fans and be hating that by the way, just like
we've gotta play Darcy twice out for two months in between.
(03:02):
But he's an absolute force to be reckoned with. He'll
be an incredible in for the Dogs.
Speaker 4 (03:06):
Yeah, there's a bit of PTSD for seem Darcy. It's
almost like that show severance. He like he went in
the elevator, looked out, came back and he's at the
same game at Marvel Stadium against Saint Ka.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
Like just like it never left, yes.
Speaker 3 (03:18):
Left, Yeah, there you go. In that game, Dogs won
by seventy one points. Oh I can't forget about come
on that absolutely smashing the Saints. Actually started well in
that one. But Dogs just midfield went rampant, they got
on top. And for the Saints, they're likely to have
Jack McCray back.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
I think it's the rumor.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
Yeah, we haven't heard us yet, so he needs to
play for any chance. I know he played last time
they played, but I just think there's a real lack
of midfield depth without him. And I just think because
we look back to that matchup and it's still fresh
in my mind that the Dog's midfield they killed him
out the middle all day clearance domination. How do we
(03:57):
think the Saints midfield can go against that? The Dogs
coming off and off week as well.
Speaker 4 (04:02):
They you talked about those players that had an off
midfield day in the last quarter, particularly when they need
to stand up against Hawthorne. He'd throw Ed Richards into
that mix. He only had nine disposals. He had a
great game still, but he only had nine disposals after
halftime and had limited impact. But against the Saint Kilden midfield,
who are getting bossed a little bit since they've lost McCray,
I feel like you just gotta get a body on mcray,
(04:23):
Like if he does play, just soften him up. Buis
him a little bit give him a few bumps.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
He's getting their old teammates.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
They should have done that to Baslenka, So so they
do that to Jack mcrathe.
Speaker 4 (04:35):
Yeah, absolutely, absolutely, they got They got the midfield to
do that as well, and then they got the outside runners.
I feel like as well, outside of the contest in
the middle, the Bulldogs so more so than Saint Kildo definitely.
Speaker 2 (04:47):
Yeah, you talked about Ed Richards Marcus.
Speaker 1 (04:48):
He's had two plus goals in his last three matches
against teams lower than them on the ladder. So a
bit of a surprising one because he doesn't he's not
known for his goalkicking, but he's actually he's improved his clearances,
he's improved his disposals, and he's impro of his goalkicking,
which just helped the Dogs take that next step. And
that's why you've got to say that their midfield is
a lot better than the Saint Unfortunately for Saints.
Speaker 3 (05:07):
He's gone from a role playing half back Richard's to
a goalkicking mid I don't think many of us had that.
I've been go card two years ago and he's probably
the best redheaded player in the competition.
Speaker 2 (05:18):
That's I said, low but yeah, who else who is
up there? That's a story for another show.
Speaker 1 (05:25):
Yeah, I reckon the story any other soul anyway, tips
and margin for this one.
Speaker 2 (05:31):
What do we think, Leo? You started? I think Dogs
by sixteen?
Speaker 3 (05:33):
But last time in this matchup, I tipped the Saints
and they got smashed up tipping the Dogs and watched
Saint Kilter win go They're saying, oh my god, did.
Speaker 4 (05:42):
You not learn your lesson from tipping sat Kilda against Melbourne?
Speaker 2 (05:46):
What if they win? Well, then they win and I'm happy.
Dogs by sixteen is what? Yeah, Leo Marcus, what do
you got?
Speaker 4 (05:53):
I'm on Dogs boy a little bit more. I'm gonna
go thirty six six goals, thirty.
Speaker 2 (05:56):
Six young huge, I think, Yeah, Sam, I had it
about thirty.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
I'm going to go up to forty now, just because
he can kick a few few goals at least Sam
Darcy and if mc crazy in are out, even if
it's his first game back, I think that's going to
be a tough one for the Saints. Friday Night footy,
you've got Hawthorne taking on Adelaide at Utah Stadium in
launceestin seven forty.
Speaker 2 (06:15):
This one on Friday night. We've got Marcus covering this one.
Speaker 4 (06:17):
Yeah, we do. And we talked about the Hawthorne pressure
on Sunday and how they eclipse their tackle count from
the previous two weeks. So in fact, yeah, combined they
eclipse that. We need to see that again against another
top quality your position in Adelaide, who arguably are the
form team of the competition apart from the Pies.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
I was calling them contenders on the on the Wrap show.
I was, and I will continue to do that for
the next two days.
Speaker 4 (06:41):
Tell them result, do we need to see them win
this game as contenders?
Speaker 3 (06:46):
Hawthorne?
Speaker 2 (06:47):
I think both teams both times.
Speaker 3 (06:49):
I think Adelaide, I said on the Sunday show, I
think they're the second best team right now.
Speaker 2 (06:53):
That's crazy.
Speaker 3 (06:54):
If they lose then I'm going to obviously reevaluate that
that opinion.
Speaker 2 (06:58):
But if they win, then they're just firms. And then
for Hawthorne, it puts them firmly back in that the
bottom half of that contender conversation.
Speaker 4 (07:06):
Who do we think about more the loser of this game?
Who what ramifications does have?
Speaker 1 (07:13):
I think Hawthorne because a lot of teams don't travel
down to lawn test and very often. Obviously Hawthorne play
a fair few games there every year, and it's more
than Hawthorne.
Speaker 2 (07:21):
They played really well last week, obviously beat the dogs.
Speaker 1 (07:23):
If they can do it two weeks and where we
are hock balls back, then Guinea might show another ball
to the crowd or to trow the ball to the
other opposition.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
And then you.
Speaker 1 (07:29):
Say, howk balls back because they lost that charm, that
that hockball for the last six, last six weeks or
whatever you want to call it, that dog in them
you do you talked about on the weekend, Sure you
did say that.
Speaker 2 (07:39):
I don't remember.
Speaker 4 (07:42):
Normally weather it was an impact in law system as
it was for Hawthorne and Jebus in the But actually
it's just going to be clear skies, sunny, barely any wind.
So this could play into Adelaide's hands with particularly their
big body forwards. We look at the texts and Philthorpe,
they're all in the top ten for goals kick so
(08:03):
far this season. But on the flip side, we're going
to have a look at Hawthorne's new recruits, in particular
the big body recruits in defense with Barras and battle Leo.
How much of an impact have they had to their
Hawks defense? How big of an impact of the recruits been.
Speaker 2 (08:20):
I think they've been really strong for us.
Speaker 3 (08:22):
I think, you know, I don't trust battle kicking the
football nor really barrass.
Speaker 2 (08:26):
But that's not a good start. They're in the team
could defend that role and I think as Bachman's they
have done really well.
Speaker 4 (08:34):
Barras did come unto fiery against Brisbane for you know,
not jumping into a hard ball when he could have done.
Has he improved on that in recent weeks as in
particularly the win last week.
Speaker 2 (08:46):
I think he has.
Speaker 3 (08:46):
I think he was was critical on Norton last week.
He played a great job on him. Norton did nothing.
And I think this is the gain for like why
we got these these big guys in, these big recruits
to take the monster forward because Bill thought walking foggedy
is probably the best three prong key forward.
Speaker 1 (09:04):
Attack and Benny keys in there as well. Benny was
not a key forward just for the goalkicking.
Speaker 2 (09:10):
A Rashellian ranking and Neil Bullen and exactly add everyone
in that. Adilde Ga thanks nice to Adelaide.
Speaker 3 (09:17):
So if we're keeping it back on track with the
Whrthorne matchups, here we've got Varas playing on Bill thought
most likely battle on Foggedy and then it's sort of
a toss up who goes to text? So this is
the game my Hawthorne recruited these guys for. So can
they step up? It'll be a big point.
Speaker 4 (09:35):
Who would you lok so you go to text? Do
you bring someone in to go to tech?
Speaker 2 (09:39):
The scoom Shaws fit potentially Scrimshaw on the sub best
interesting subvest. Yeah they can't go to text. I don't
mind that, yeah, thank you.
Speaker 4 (09:50):
And also in twenty twenty three, the Crow has actually
won this matchup in Launcesse and it was one of
the big boys who sealed the game. It was Darcy
Foggedy on the bund line. It was a great key
because it was about thirty five to forty eight and
he dropped punted it through the big sticks in lawn Cesson.
But William Hawthorne obviously the team and the home slot
and they do have a good record when that.
Speaker 2 (10:11):
Is the case.
Speaker 1 (10:12):
Yeah, so Leo would be happy when he goes to
the footy. They pretty much win every single time. Twelve
of the last thirteen home matches the Hawks have won.
Obviously that Brisbane one. I think is a bit of
an outlier because Brisbane just absolutely lifted for that game.
Speaker 2 (10:23):
But I've been pretty good at home. Well, I have
gone to away games at the Gem.
Speaker 1 (10:27):
Yeah, I just yeah, I mean how but it's a
pretty good stat if you're it's literally the opposite team drift.
Speaker 2 (10:32):
Yeah, there we go.
Speaker 1 (10:33):
Anyway, we're talking about the contenders to be doing. Want
to touch on that at all anymore? Or are we
all good there?
Speaker 3 (10:37):
Well?
Speaker 4 (10:37):
I think they're both either way, they're both going to
be there in abouts and playing for I see both
of these sides playing finals come the end of the season.
Speaker 2 (10:43):
Yep.
Speaker 4 (10:44):
It's just whether this win could go a long way
into either side, you know, scraping into the top four.
Speaker 2 (10:49):
Yep, could go see these two teams in a final.
That would be a really fun final, be a fun
a bird ball bird ball, Ye bird teams. There we go,
tips and margin. I feel like we might be swayed
in this one. We'll start Marcus, who are you going?
Speaker 4 (11:01):
I'm going to go the Crows just because I talked
about whether not being as much of a factor as
it normally is done on lawn system and I just
think that Adelaid forward on there have so much scoring prowess,
and let's see if those Hawks recruits can can deal
with it. I'm gonna go to adel I'm gonna go
Adelaide Crows by a kick.
Speaker 2 (11:17):
A kick Leo, I'll go Hawks by under a kick.
I just in Tazzy. I know the conditions you said,
Marcus don't worry you, but they worry me for the Crown.
That's that's where my tip lies can tell this man
is about this game. He's a bit nervous, tense. Next.
Speaker 1 (11:34):
Yeah, I'm going to go Hawks by eight. I think
this would be a really close one the Crows. The
last couple years, I've had so many close games, but
I'm going to go with the Hawks down and lawn testin.
All Right, Saturday, here we go Saturday for Brisbane Verse
JWS is the next one, Saturday one twenty at the Gabba.
Speaker 2 (11:49):
I want to start on this.
Speaker 1 (11:50):
Lads love for the fullbacks. Now we did a little
bit of this on the Wrap show, but we just
talk about the mids. We talk about the forwards all
the time. You've talked up Adelaide's backline, but two of
the best fullbacks in the business here, Harris Andrews and
Sam Taylor, which is just so good to watch the
intercept marks the spoils. Who do you think can have
a bigger impact in this one out of those two.
Speaker 4 (12:07):
That's a great question, I think, Well, I think Sam
Taylor will definitely outwork Eric Kipwood, so therefore he will
have the bigger impact. But if As Andrews can can
get on top of Jesse Hogan, then that'll be a
bigger scalp and argably have a bigger toil on the result.
Speaker 2 (12:22):
Oh, that's a lot better answer than I thought. Yeah,
you know what, I'm not even gonna follow that. I
think that that was a great answer. Yeah, there we go.
Speaker 1 (12:29):
We've obviously got no Toby Green in this one. Looks
like you got shot last week, which is which is
not ideal, no idea when you look like he gets shot, No,
you know it's worse get shot, you would know.
Speaker 2 (12:39):
My next feels like.
Speaker 4 (12:41):
So the first time you've been stiff talking members with.
Speaker 2 (12:44):
Well, that's that's another podcast. This couch is very rare.
Speaker 1 (12:50):
The other one I want to say, out of Toby Green,
out of the side, can Josh Kelly step up as
that leader he needs to lift He's had a two
point six clearance average this season. He's played a lot forward,
he has come back from come back from injury, but
I think this is the game where he needs to lift.
He's had six score involvements per game, which is pretty solid,
but I would like to see that up to like
eight or ten in this game and then a couple
more clearances and then a couple of goals just to
(13:12):
be that massive impact without Toby Green on the side.
Speaker 2 (13:13):
Would you say that's Fairlys, I think that's completely fair.
Speaker 3 (13:16):
I think alongside Tom Green get of a one two
punch and potentially they get Callahan back.
Speaker 2 (13:21):
I think is he a test? Yeah, I try to
have a look Stringer Callahan and.
Speaker 3 (13:25):
It was a hand of that midfield would help. But
Kelly still needs to lift for mine. So you raise
a good point, yeah.
Speaker 1 (13:31):
And then for the Lions, I think a lot of
the young guys have stepped up, specifically Jasper Fletcher. I
think he's having an awesome year. He just attacks the foot.
He's really quick, he can run both ends of the ground.
But on the other end a bit more experienced Zach Bailey.
Now we've been up and down on him all year, Marcus,
you've got some thoughts on him.
Speaker 4 (13:47):
I've not sold on Zach Bailey since his debut. Every
season he's played one hundred and fifty three games. Was
there's a lot of games of footy. I didn't think
he played a hundred and fifty three. I think he
debuted in about these two eighteen. But he hasn't kicked
multiple goals since round eight and boys, where does he fifth?
Speaker 2 (14:05):
Like?
Speaker 4 (14:05):
What sort of player is he?
Speaker 3 (14:07):
Like?
Speaker 4 (14:07):
Is he is he the cam Rayner tip where he's
up forward he gets out of the contest in the middle,
is a bit of a brute you can get two
or three goals a game? Or is he that humor
pluggage widely short of player that has an impact going
in their delivery in side fifty?
Speaker 3 (14:22):
Well, I think he's a mid forward, but they've got
so many class mids that he kind of gets pushed
out and becomes that high half forward. And you've got
you know, Neil Dunkley, McCluggage as you mentioned Rainer, and
then you're adding the Ashcroft brothers and probably missing people
as well. You can't really get into that midfield. So
I think he should be playing in an ideal world
(14:42):
fifty to fifty. Yeah, but he's not so the high
half forward role is probably one that isn't always suited
to him and how.
Speaker 4 (14:49):
He played, he's getting career high disposals just about I
think about one that's okay, but he's still having no impact.
He has the lowest AFL rating points across his last
five seasons. He has the lowest one percenters in his career,
So when you need him to be in any other contest,
he needs to produce those one percenters, the lower shot
at goal accuracy in his last six seasons, and he
(15:11):
also has the lowest amount of pressure acts in his
entire career. Hatim, Yeah, he's He's one that needs to
be a barometer for the Lions, and he has the potential.
He is potential to be a world class player. We
just haven't seen his world class He hasn't he hasn't seen.
We haven't seen him hit that potential yet.
Speaker 2 (15:30):
Mate. He would dominate in uh where did liverplay Vietnam?
Speaker 1 (15:32):
It's an international rules He would be greater international rules
A if a Europe be dominant, to be dominant, and
I do rate that call though, because we know what
he can produce. He just needs to be a little
bit better. So fair called by Marcus. Both teams are
desperate to perform in this one. Five of the last
six lines games have been decided by eighteen points unless
obviously there's been a lot of wins in there that
draw to North, but we just haven't seen that dominance,
(15:54):
and I think that's not what you want to see
from a Premier. The Premiers last year. You want to
you want to see them win a big game, So
they'd be interesting to see if it's another close one here.
The Giants as well, they want to find some consistency.
They've lost three of their last five, just losing games
rich shouldn't have almost lost to Richmond, should not have
lost to Sydney with all their outs, and lost to
Plant Adelaide last week in a massive shock results. So
three games in the last five that are just a
(16:16):
bit of a worry. So a little bit worried about
the Giants there.
Speaker 2 (16:19):
I'm definitely worried about the Giants. Yeah, I just definitely worried.
Speaker 1 (16:22):
They should be playing a lot better. But hopefully that
Tsunami comes back because they're so fun to watch. Yeah,
that feeds into my margin. I got Brazil winning by
five girls.
Speaker 3 (16:29):
Oh, twenty eight points, Lions by nine. Zach Bailey kicks
three and says stuff for you.
Speaker 4 (16:37):
I want him to I want him to do that.
I wanted to prove me wrong.
Speaker 2 (16:39):
Zach Bailey Legacy game and we get him on the show.
But you know what they say, you never trust the
person with two first names. Oh, I've never trusted you
Liam mcley. Yeah, that guy.
Speaker 1 (16:50):
That's a really big first name. I'm going to go
the Lions by twelve points. It's just one of those
games where I think the Giants will bounce back. They're
playing better against the better teams and the i Aines
haven't kicked away from anyone. They haven't had a big
game in a while, other than that Collingwood game. Oh sorry,
not the Calinger game. Was it Geelong one? They've been
one team, but it was colling Collingwood. Sorry since then,
(17:10):
opening round.
Speaker 2 (17:11):
So there we go. So line's by twelve points for me,
all right?
Speaker 1 (17:14):
Next one on Saturday four fifteen, Essendon versus Geelong at
the MCG. This is the country game should be played
at the Country. It's at the MCG in the middle
of the city. But we'll all be there actually watching
this one, So LEO, here we go.
Speaker 2 (17:25):
Yes, we'll be locked into this. Sure, look it's not
looking good for us.
Speaker 3 (17:29):
And then on the surfaces that Cats have won their
last seven meetings, that these two teams have played no
play his back for the Bombers.
Speaker 2 (17:38):
The injury list remains injured, but.
Speaker 3 (17:41):
We are on We're normally on green shoots watch for Richmond,
but we're going to be on them for Bombers.
Speaker 2 (17:46):
We've got two in mind. I want to just keep
a keen eye on Angus Clark, who obviously three goals
on debut.
Speaker 3 (17:52):
He's impressed me playing that play well last outside wingman role.
And then you've got Zack Johnson sort of the accumulator
playing in the back round, but he's a midfield he's
just playing down back. So those are two that in
recent weeks have.
Speaker 2 (18:03):
Really stood out to me, and I think Bombers fans
would want to see them go again, go well again
this week as well.
Speaker 4 (18:09):
One hundred percent, but one of the green shoots sort
of players, although he's played, he played every game this season,
Isaac Kaco. I think he needs to stand up. He's
only kicked his first six goals first year. I know,
I know, but this could be a game probably in
the pucky game. You know, you don't read much into it.
But we did play against Geelong DWN and GM HbA
and he kicked four goals in that game. He did
have a feast, So hopefully he have a little bit
(18:31):
of confidence more so heading into this game against Geelong
to hit the school board.
Speaker 3 (18:36):
Don't mind it and enough of the green shoots who
looks at the experienced players. Zach Merritt role watch talked
about this, Marcus you brought up. You don't want him
to play back line anymore.
Speaker 2 (18:47):
You want him on ball. I want to see him
in the guts against Homes and possibly Bads. I think bas.
Speaker 1 (18:52):
Imagine he doesn't play in the guts and then you
leave all the younger guys to come up against. Holmes
and Battlesmith are probably the best one.
Speaker 2 (18:58):
Younger guys to go well and Paris. Yeah, but like
they're not on Merits level, but.
Speaker 3 (19:03):
They could they could handle Homes and Bads. Your best
players in the positions.
Speaker 2 (19:09):
I think tell that to Brad Scott. Just a little
bit of a watch on that one.
Speaker 4 (19:13):
I think, yeah, I think I think Merritt and Atkins
would be a terrific watch throughout the game. I think
I think Merrit.
Speaker 2 (19:21):
Has the pressure.
Speaker 4 (19:23):
They're both the dogs in the contest.
Speaker 2 (19:25):
Yes in their own way too, Yes you need to afl.
Speaker 3 (19:30):
Last point I want to touch on in this one
is the scoring in the last five games for both
of these sides of Geelong averaging one hundred and four
essen and only sixty six. And if we just want
to like list out the names at either and you know,
catch you've got Jazz, Danger, Stangel, Myers close, even Neil
could pop up if he's playing, and then you know,
for the Bombers, Caddie.
Speaker 2 (19:49):
Has been solid, great, He's been probably not consistent, but
a real shining light. Peter Wright, j Gresham Galfi.
Speaker 3 (19:57):
There's a different There's a clear difference in last there,
and I just think that in itself could paint the picture.
And I think if if Bombers are gonna want to
win this game, it's going to have to be more
five meals of rain and it's an absolute scrap fast.
Speaker 1 (20:13):
I think that's that's min envisioning for We'll see Marcus
before the game is going to have a hose on
the MCG Just just recon on the scoring that you mentioned,
Leo Gelong average one hundred and seventeen points against the
Bombers in their last six meetings. So there's been a
few games with above one hundred and thirty and I
think in five of those six they scored above one hundred.
So and I don't think the Essident have the capabilities
(20:34):
to hit one hundred points right now.
Speaker 3 (20:36):
Yeah, I think with the outs as well, for that
Bomber's back line, it's just going to be so tough
to restrict belong to one nine hundred. I think if
you if Geelong and ninety nine anent of forty five,
is that a win for you.
Speaker 4 (20:47):
I don't think, no, anything anything more than five six goals,
then I'll be a little bit disappointed. I just want
to see like we did in the Brisbane game we
just put up before.
Speaker 2 (20:56):
Yeah, we will give you a hard gift. You're losing anyway,
I'll give you hugging anytime. There we go, tips and margin.
Let's go. You will start with you Layer because you
talked about this one. I think Cat's by eight goals.
Unfortunately eight goals.
Speaker 4 (21:08):
Yeah, yeah, gel On by fifty points. I'll just only
see it being one Way traffic.
Speaker 2 (21:12):
Yeah, I'm going to go cats by forty two.
Speaker 1 (21:14):
A's a't it have kept in games that we thought
they wouldn't So I don't think it's going to be
an absolute bolting, but it should be forty plus forty two.
Speaker 2 (21:19):
Could be a bolting, though, depending on how you look
at it. While we're bolting is like eighty. I don't
know any true, that's right, that's right? Hey, Leo, quick question?
Do you know what the ASEX means?
Speaker 1 (21:29):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (21:29):
Do you mean AFLX?
Speaker 1 (21:30):
No?
Speaker 2 (21:31):
Mate? The AX the Australian Stock Exchange. Oh man, I'm
absolutely clueless for that stuff.
Speaker 4 (21:36):
Well, lucky for you.
Speaker 1 (21:37):
Stock it it is a free website that gives you
everything you need to know about punting stocks on the AX.
Speaker 2 (21:42):
Damn, that sounds pretty good. Where do I check them out?
Speaker 1 (21:45):
Check it out via stockare dot com, dot you. And
it's even easy for your little p brain to understand.
Speaker 2 (21:49):
Damn. All right, Next one Saturday Night. I don't know
how this one is?
Speaker 1 (21:54):
This Saturday night North Melbourne versus Freeman or seven thirty
five at Opta Stadium and it's a North Melbourne home game.
Speaker 4 (22:01):
Marcus, Yeah, what did you buy it?
Speaker 2 (22:03):
North Melbourne?
Speaker 4 (22:04):
Against free Men the West Australian team at Opta Stadium.
Rio will be licking their lips, particularly in the form
that they're at now. They've got a couple of tasty
away wins against Gold Coast and Jubile West, but in
the last meeting it was actually North that got on
top by a single point at up the stadium. Yeah,
(22:25):
that was the joy Simpkin where Clarko.
Speaker 2 (22:27):
I thought they lost in between that. Now we did,
but it was not Optus. I'm trying to remember Marvel.
Speaker 1 (22:32):
Yeah, okay, but that was the game where Clarko was
on his knee celebrating.
Speaker 2 (22:36):
And Carrow was angry at him. Yeah, being happy.
Speaker 4 (22:38):
I think you said out of studio early and that
you hate Carrow.
Speaker 2 (22:43):
I didn't say that.
Speaker 4 (22:44):
I don't know, I don't even know, but you were
saying that joy Simpkin. That was That was the start
of the season where you want to in a row
and you were up and about and then you lost
twenty straight.
Speaker 2 (22:55):
Yeah, we thought Clarko was the messiah.
Speaker 1 (22:56):
We thought Jayden Stevenson was a great pick up because
he was dominating the first two games. Then he's not
even he's playing local. Where's he playing now. I don't
even know locally.
Speaker 2 (23:05):
Yeah, that was We've come a long way down since then.
You've got a long way down.
Speaker 4 (23:11):
But to make things even worse, you kept some puzzitive
for North Melbourne. This is a start that North Melbourne
fans don't want to hear. So I'll get the North
Melbourne fan to read it out for you.
Speaker 2 (23:21):
Stut's going, oh, this is your gamead, I'm happy to
read this one. I'll read it out. I'll read it out.
I am the stats guy.
Speaker 1 (23:28):
North has lost their last forty two matches with arrest disadvantage,
so we're coming off what is how many days?
Speaker 2 (23:34):
As that? For six days instead of seventh? I don't
even want to think the boy well, you know what
they say forty third times the charm. I'm plenty it's
about that happened. Why did you make me read that?
Speaker 4 (23:48):
We're talking about Freemantle now, are they the real deal?
After their bigger Way scalps. They've obviously got a barely
easy fixture to come towards you the end of the season.
Do they need to smash North Melbourne for us to
you know, consue to them as contenders, like if they
only win by a goal or two, and it's sort
of a scrappy game, do we.
Speaker 2 (24:06):
I just I don't think they will win by a
goal or too. I just think they'll win comfortably. And
I think they are the real deal. I think they've
really built into the season. Yes, they've had some bad
losses to start the season, but I.
Speaker 3 (24:18):
Think AFL released either yesterday or this morning that they're
actually the youngest average age really every side for.
Speaker 2 (24:25):
The first twelve rounds this season.
Speaker 3 (24:27):
Interest So with that, keeping that in mind, the fact
that they're, you know, in the eight, got three games
coming up at home that they should win quite comfortably,
I think all things are looking up Freemantle and I'm
so excited now for Long Muor to just have an
absolute Vanilla master class.
Speaker 2 (24:43):
And they lose the next three the Vanilla.
Speaker 1 (24:46):
So that's why I'm not one hundred percent on them.
So we all talked them up at the start of
the season. I just wanted to see them win those
games pretty comfortably that they should, because three over the
last couple of years lose.
Speaker 2 (24:56):
They win the weird.
Speaker 1 (24:57):
Games, like those away games that no one thought they
were going to win, and then they'll lose not this game,
but some of the other games coming up, so I
just want to see them more consistency.
Speaker 4 (25:04):
A little bit more consistent, and I'm going to be
looking out for those young North Melbourn players as well,
particularly half back. We're looking at the likes of Colvin
Mkircheer who starred as well, so we're seeing on a
bigger ground compared to Bumbri and wider ground whether they
can still have the same impact. And one that I
think could have a lot of impact for Freeman or
is Josh Tracy because Charlie combin Is obably came off
(25:27):
injured as a big blow for North Melbourne. Because he
has been one of the best. I think he's been
North Melbourn's best player this year.
Speaker 2 (25:33):
There's a guy that a guy not named Caleb Daniel.
Speaker 3 (25:37):
I think Common's in their best eight players this season.
He's played really.
Speaker 2 (25:42):
Four great games and the rest I don't think he's
been there.
Speaker 4 (25:45):
I'd say he's top three easily, I'd say five six.
I think has been better than anyway anyways, I think consistently.
I think we talked about Tracy when he came up
against put Adelaide. He let us downs. He kicked a
fat donut So does this mean because we're.
Speaker 2 (26:01):
Talking him up again, we should go to like Amos
or someone or like, nah, he's going to do it.
Speaker 4 (26:07):
Pat Voss could get He got three goals last week.
Speaker 2 (26:09):
The problem is he kicked more behind him.
Speaker 4 (26:11):
Yeah, that's very true. But Josh Tracy, we think it's
going to be up thereabouts towards the common metal lead aboard.
So he's one I want to look out for. But
there is a matchup that you're looking out for that
you think is gonna be pretty tasty. Yeah, just quickly,
just the rock battle.
Speaker 1 (26:23):
I forget Sean Darcy, you got Luke Jackson vers trist
and Cherry two are the best going around. They're both
average twenty eight plus hitouts, eighteen plus disposals, and four
plus clearances. That's just Luke Jackson's stats, by the way,
because Cherries.
Speaker 2 (26:34):
Are a lot higher than that.
Speaker 1 (26:35):
But it would just be a really fun battle because
they can both collect the ball and both get clearances,
and both players an extra midfielder as ruckman.
Speaker 2 (26:41):
All right, tips before we get to the next game,
le flag mantle forty seven. Oh he call on flag
mantle again, not fraud mantle. I love them. How many teams.
Speaker 4 (26:50):
Is this man Dockers thirty six points. I'm going to
go Dockers.
Speaker 1 (26:54):
Just let's get it up a bit sixty sixty points
because if North player like they did against West Coast
last week, Rio aren't going to do the same as Westcast.
Speaker 2 (27:02):
So yeah, I'm shook from that. I'm trying to put
the Mods on North No on three. Sorry.
Speaker 1 (27:08):
Yeah, anyway, Sunday Fun Day, as Leo likes to call it,
Port Adelaide versus Melbourne Sunday three twenty at the Adelaide Oval. Look,
they both played pretty well last week. Melbourne only a
one point loss, could have beaten Collingwood if it wasn't
for maxicw No it was all right, Yeah, no, it
wasn't Mexicalan's fault and Portat just a great win over JWS.
Speaker 2 (27:28):
Tough Midfield's head to head, which is what I'm going
to look at. Here. You've got Track and Clary taking
on Butter's Rosie.
Speaker 1 (27:33):
You can chuck Bergman in there, you can chuck Viney
and a few other Players's injured, isn't he.
Speaker 2 (27:38):
Oh he's injured.
Speaker 1 (27:38):
I'm just I just waste think about Viney, but Track, Clary,
Butters and Rosie all average over twenty five disposal was
five score and volved. It's just the work causes of
work courses of the team, so they're really good fun
to watch.
Speaker 2 (27:48):
Melbourne. This is a bit of a surprising stat.
Speaker 1 (27:50):
Lads have won three of the last four meetings against
Port at the Adelaide Oval, so a bit of.
Speaker 2 (27:55):
A surprising one there.
Speaker 1 (27:56):
And they are eleven and five at the Adelaide Oval
of Corosse their last ten seasons there, which is a
bit of a surprising one as well, so they travel
well there.
Speaker 2 (28:02):
It is very surprising.
Speaker 3 (28:03):
And I like the fact that you brought up the
midfield battle because a lot of these midfielders they're not
afraid to get down and dirty and do the gritty stuff,
and I think that's going to play into how this
game will be played.
Speaker 2 (28:15):
For a large part. It'll be pretty scrappy, and that's
not a bad thing to say.
Speaker 3 (28:19):
I think it would still be a very close game,
but I just think that's how it's sort of set up.
Speaker 2 (28:23):
Yeah, go this game.
Speaker 1 (28:24):
Yeah, he said it was scrappy and the stats do
back that up. Eleven of the last twelve meetings have
actually gone under one hundred and forty eight total points,
so pretty low scoring. A lot of them have been
scoring like seventy fifty points like per team and things
like that.
Speaker 2 (28:36):
Which is a little bit of a worry.
Speaker 1 (28:37):
And I think the back lines from both teams stepped
up last week, so he got Radigalia even looked really
strong last game. He shut down Hogan for big parts
of the game. You've got Bergman who goes back there
and gets intercepts. Then you've got Bowie in great form,
your man, Jake Bowie. He looked good again on Monday.
Is he probably like the most underrated player?
Speaker 2 (28:55):
I actually think one you didn't mention for port Ali
Relea literally yes, yes, play And as I say that,
I hope he isn't injured and I've just brought up
and no, No, he's definitely underrated.
Speaker 4 (29:07):
Yeah, either half back flank as well. There's so many
great matchups like Jason Bergwoyn and jud McVie, I think
the two excellent young players of the competition and who
are doing very good at their role.
Speaker 2 (29:16):
No good call. And then you've also got in great form.
Speaker 1 (29:19):
And then around May and lever Can Stephen May and
Maxican kiss and makeup and then go into this game.
Speaker 2 (29:25):
Whatever happens, May is probably going to be kissing leave
because they no matter what they do, they're well, they're
in love. I reckon every time you can't, Tom, that's
all right, that's what you need in the back line,
a bit of love. I reckon. Do we rate with
any of your other teammates? That's fine? Yeah? Do we
rate Jake Lever's mustache? Just yes? Off the yeah goods.
I think it suits him cool, all right, Tips and
margin in this one. He's got me nothing his whole game.
Speaker 1 (29:47):
Tips and margin? What do we think, Marcus, so you
can say something in this game? I think it's going
to be a close one. And actually, fancy Melbourne the
way they're playing at the moment.
Speaker 2 (29:54):
They took it right there.
Speaker 4 (29:56):
They took it up to the best team in the competition. Uh,
and I think they can do it again.
Speaker 2 (30:00):
Nine points nine points yeah, uh Leo.
Speaker 3 (30:03):
I think this is the toughest game to tip this round,
including Hawthorne Adelaide.
Speaker 2 (30:07):
Yeah, the two teams that have been very inconsistent. Yeah,
and it's because it's I think going to be low scoring.
It could really go either way.
Speaker 3 (30:14):
And I just think that home ground advantage I know
you brought up Melbourne stats at Adelaide Oval, but I'm
not the stats man, so I disregard the stats, and
I think port win by under a.
Speaker 1 (30:22):
Kick, under a kick, under a kick. There's gonna be
a lot of close games according to you. Yeah, I
just tipped Docers.
Speaker 2 (30:27):
But another team fifty. A lot of post games other than.
Speaker 1 (30:32):
Those, they're all close. I think it's going to be close,
but I'm going to go D's by ten points. That
really good record at Adelaide Oval. I think the last
sort of a month and a half has been a
turning plaint for the D's. They've had a couple of
little bit of a few blips, but they look a
lot stronger than Portant in my opinion.
Speaker 2 (30:45):
So I'm going to go these by ten points.
Speaker 1 (30:47):
All right. The final game Blockbustart six ten add up
to stadium is West Coast versus Carlton.
Speaker 2 (30:53):
LEO your game.
Speaker 3 (30:54):
Well, we're halfway through the season and Carlton's playing West
Coast twice.
Speaker 2 (30:58):
Make that make sense? We know it makes sense.
Speaker 3 (31:01):
I don't want to get too much into that, but
car and they love playing against the Eagles. Maybe that's
why the AFL has given it to them last five
average winning margin is fifty five points and Charlie can
I just normally feasts, especially with no McGovern. In his
last seven games against the Eagles, Kerno has kicked twenty
eight goals.
Speaker 2 (31:18):
That's an average four per game. That's math right there. Yeah,
I couldn't do the math yesterday.
Speaker 3 (31:25):
I want to know, boys, how much do we think
West Coast are up for this game? Because they were
competitive against Sha Loong even though that margin got blown
out and the last week's loss was incredibly gut wrenching
for them as a as a club and as a
fan base. Do we think that they can get up
for this and actually show some fight or is it
just going to be a blowout. It's going to be
(31:45):
like the last two weeks, Like God, we tried so
hard to get a win and now it comes crumbling down.
Speaker 4 (31:50):
They'll be kicking, They'll be kicking their teeth knowing that
they could have won those games, and I think that
just spurs them on to get that winning field. They
want to be the one celebrating at the end. And Carlton,
they weren't great against the Bombers, but they didn't have
to win, especially in that first quarter. So the Eagles
will definitely look at some signs in Carlton and be look,
(32:11):
look we can exploit this. But likewise with Carlton they
can just get over the top, particularly in the midfield.
With that midfield depth is yeah.
Speaker 1 (32:18):
And West Coast they've been a lot better at Opter Stadium,
like staying in games. They've had a few close games Geelong,
they looked really good for three quarters. If they play
like they did against Ghelong, it's going to be really close.
But I agree with you Leo that there's been a
few big build ups last couple of weeks and this
could all come crashing down this week because they were
staffed there. They lost a bit of confidence last week.
I reckon kicking in front of goal, So I reckon
(32:38):
this is the one where Carlton smoke them.
Speaker 2 (32:40):
Yeah, I don't mind that call stats man and a
bit of an interesting stat.
Speaker 3 (32:43):
Maybe I will become the stats guy because I definitely
did not take this from one of your boys. West
Coast average more points than Carlton in their last five matches.
Speaker 2 (32:52):
Really, yes, that is surprising. I did not expect that.
Speaker 4 (32:55):
I believe West Coast averaged seventy four points across the
last five. I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure
that's the start and Carlton just below that.
Speaker 1 (33:02):
So there you go.
Speaker 2 (33:03):
The audience now know who I got that from.
Speaker 1 (33:05):
There we go. Yeah, you did both with your stats
there this is. Yeah, it's gonna be an interesting one,
but I think that Carlton could smoke him. I was
gonna say my tip. I'm gonna say Carlton forty plus.
I'm gonna say forty points at the very least. I
think it'll be pretty close for two and a half
quarters and then Carlton will kick away when Charlie Cureroner
will do what he does and make his goal. Tell
you look a lot better because he gets to play
West Coast twice.
Speaker 2 (33:25):
Yeah, don't mind it.
Speaker 4 (33:25):
Yeah, look, I'm gonna go Carlton by thirty two points.
Speaker 3 (33:29):
Okay, I think Blues by fifty. I just think you
guys spoke about it. But I just don't think West
Coast can get up for this one.
Speaker 2 (33:37):
I think it's it's starting down and I just think
the clearance right for Carton's mids is just going to
be second to none in this game, and they'll give
Charlie plenty of chances.
Speaker 1 (33:46):
Fair cool, All right, that's all the games of around
fourteen previeod. We're gonna have a look at a Coleman watch.
We've got the bye week, so we've got less games.
Have a look at the Coleman watch.
Speaker 2 (33:54):
Are you letting this one?
Speaker 3 (33:55):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (33:56):
Well, look it's mid season, so we'll play on mid
season picks. Boys. The end of this, I want you
guys to say who you think will win the Coleman.
Jeremy Cameron is the current favorite. He leads the Coleman
by five goals. He's got thirty eight. Ben King comes
behind with thirty three, and then it's pretty close from
there in terms of the favorites. But Jamie Alli is
(34:17):
actually the closest behind Jeremy Cameron with thirty four goals. Obviously,
I brought up that stat a couple of Sundays ago
about the latest person below one hundred and eighty centimeters
to win the Coleman, and I think that was all
the way back in nineteen fifty something.
Speaker 2 (34:32):
Legend members because he was born there, so that it
was born.
Speaker 4 (34:37):
But there are a lot of others nearbyble Jesse Hogan,
who was the reigning Corman medalist Charlie Kerner as well,
who won twice before that. He's on twenty six and
we expect him to have a big week against West
Coast this week, and as well as the Adelaide Twin
Towers of Roley, Phil Forpe and Darcy Foggerty with twenty
eight goals. And then we have Laki Tracy who yeah.
Speaker 3 (34:57):
They're got all right, but where is Jack Gunson and
Marvia Sorry, yeah, we're having his Gunston on twenty six.
Speaker 2 (35:04):
I think forty.
Speaker 4 (35:08):
This is just according to the favorites list, so not
the total tally, but according to the favorites list of boys.
Out of this list, guns Roll you can you can
pick one of those both, they're both going to share.
Speaker 2 (35:23):
Let him, let me, let me, let me put my
serious hat on. I think, Jeremy Cameron that's a boring answer,
but I've got two reasons.
Speaker 3 (35:31):
They have a very easy I was gonna say that, yeah,
coming up, not just this Essendon game, but like he's
got games against opponents that he should.
Speaker 2 (35:39):
Feast on side. It's hard to go against jezz.
Speaker 1 (35:41):
Yeah, I think the only person that can catch Jezzer
right now is Ben King, because Gold Coast is the
only team that's sort of consistently scoring those big scores, that'
scoring one hundred points every game, and he's going to
score a big chunk of them. But Jeremy Cameron is
already four goals ahead. They've got an easy run, and
he just feasts. He's been feasting against the lower teams,
kicking six goals every week.
Speaker 2 (35:59):
So it's gotta be jazz Art. I reckon, you know,
I'm gonna be fun.
Speaker 4 (36:03):
I'm gonna go against the grand Jamie Elliott, Jamie Allen.
They play a lot of their games. They play two
more games into State for the rest of the season.
Speaker 2 (36:10):
Loves the g. He loves the g.
Speaker 4 (36:12):
He's on thirty four goals, He's only four goals behind Cameron.
Speaker 2 (36:16):
Why not?
Speaker 4 (36:17):
Yeah, why not? Let's see him do it. If he
just sticks to a cruisy two to three goals a game,
what is the end of the season on about above
fifty probably about fifty five goals. Fifty five goals, needs
sixty five, he needs sixty five. Yeah, Jeremy Cameron. But also,
if I want to go at all and not go
Jeremy Cameron, I'll go Jesse Hogan because I feel like
(36:38):
he's the one in a bit off. But yeah, he's
the only maybe, Charlie, but he's the only one, the
other one in the competition who look like Look, he'll
get six or eight goals in a game of the season,
which he has done already and I think he can
do again.
Speaker 3 (36:50):
I think with Charlie, Charlie's probably the one i'd keep
an eye on because he's on what twenty six goals near.
Speaker 2 (36:55):
He could kick ten against.
Speaker 3 (36:57):
He's got West if we kick say seven against West Coast,
which is out of the realms of possibility. He's got
North in two weeks kicking straight it's not But like
if we if after the North game Charlie kicks seven
against West Coast and six against North, he's in the
Coleman race.
Speaker 2 (37:14):
I think. So a bit of a watch on Charlie. Watch,
but it's justus to lose.
Speaker 1 (37:18):
Yeah, good call, all right, a lock of the week
and big calls. Now I got a really really lock
in you I'm locking in.
Speaker 2 (37:25):
I'm not getting to lock wrong for the rest of
the year. But we'll start with how it should go.
Speaker 1 (37:28):
Really he should I shouldn't even have to read it out,
but Leo at your lock Port.
Speaker 3 (37:32):
Verse Melbourne goes the unders under one seventy five total points.
Speaker 2 (37:36):
We mentioned it being a scrap. I think, would you
say eleven out of last five under one hundred and
forty eight? Bang? How did you remember that?
Speaker 1 (37:42):
You?
Speaker 2 (37:42):
Actually that proves that he listens to me. This is
the first show ever listening. It's just a little bit
of me being on the spectrum. So yeah, that's that's
my lock. I didn't know that. There we go.
Speaker 4 (37:51):
Well, we just talked about Charlie having possibly a huge
game against West Coast and maybe a smoky for the Coleman.
I'm going to go Charlie kono two plus goal was
against the Eagles.
Speaker 1 (38:01):
It's boring, boring, it's a lot, but it's a lock,
I said, hang on boring and then what's he going?
Speaker 4 (38:08):
I say, what's your.
Speaker 1 (38:10):
Jazz are coming up against the powerhouse of assident two
plus plus is boring and then you're going to the
two pluses falling?
Speaker 2 (38:18):
Think your lads need to understand that. Locks.
Speaker 1 (38:20):
I was joking mate the locks. I know that's because
he said boring the other week. Anyway, jas are two
plus for me. I think he's going to kick a
few goals against the Bombers.
Speaker 2 (38:27):
So two plus. Surely it's gonna bounce back last week,
better conditions this week two plus. All right, big call,
big calls, lads that we're going to get right.
Speaker 1 (38:35):
I'm really confident this week, Marcus, you'll big cool, I'm cool.
Speaker 4 (38:40):
Michael, Max Holmes, I'll expect them to have a huge day. Obviously,
the Bombers have a lot of injuries, but they still
have a lot of players in that midfield, but they
don't necessarily tag so and we see a lot of
players rack up big disposals. And I'm going Max homes
to go back to back forties. He's going to forty
plus again against the Bomber. That's my big call, maximums.
Speaker 2 (39:02):
I like tracking that one live as well.
Speaker 4 (39:04):
We will.
Speaker 1 (39:05):
We could do it live in the last quarter to
see what touches he's on his Yeah, maybe, Leah.
Speaker 3 (39:11):
I'm gone Bond thirty plus and two plus goals against
the same time we actually got this last time they played.
Speaker 2 (39:16):
So is that a big call? Well? Can I explain? Sure?
Thank you? He averages just over two goals in the
last five against, saying killed up. But the reason I
think this is a big call is he hasn't hit
thirty touches in a while.
Speaker 3 (39:27):
I think he's last five have been around sort of
the mid to low twenties. Does hit the scoreboard, you know,
quite often, but again last five not as much. I
just think this is the game where it comes out,
bounces back, leads the Dogs to a victory, and yeah,
I just love the Bond. Give him a brown line.
Speaker 4 (39:44):
They don't necessarily necessarily need him in the forward line
either with Darcy coming back, but he could. He can
score from the midfield very easily.
Speaker 2 (39:50):
Call from the back line exact good? Is that good?
My big call? I'm going freo. So I was trying
to look at who's going to have a smash mate.
Speaker 1 (39:57):
I think Frio will genuinely smash North Melbourne and Michael
fred you call kick four goals? I was looking at Bolton,
I was looking at for other players. He's kicked three
plus three goals four times this year. Michael Frederick, he's
had an underrated season.
Speaker 2 (40:09):
He's been pretty good. I think he kicked three goals
last game.
Speaker 1 (40:11):
I reckon he's going to bump it up to four
and of his season best four goals against North because
the speed that he possesses, the agility and things like
that North don't have a matchup for him. If Luke
McDonald's on it, if Luke McDonald's playing on Michael Frederick
see later.
Speaker 2 (40:24):
That's a great call. Thank you very nice to me
this show half from when I criticize you for something
I can't remember. Yeah, that's actually true. Good call mate.
Speaker 1 (40:34):
