All right, Round sixteen previews. We've got a few teams
on the buy again. This is the last of the
by rounds Lads Club that come on, Thank God, Thank
god for that. So we've got the lines, the Bombers
the Cats and the Giants on the buy. Let's get
(01:56):
into round sixteen. Port Adelaide versus Carlton is Thursday night,
footy seven thirty at the Adelaide Oval. Now there's a
lot to talk about you.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
Later, there's a lot to talk about, but I want
to start by throwing a question right back at your boys. Okay,
so much pressure has been on Vossi this week. You
know Ken, he's under the succession plan. Cloud Is this
a sack the coach Cup?
Speaker 1 (02:17):
Is that?
Speaker 3 (02:18):
Oh well, I mean Ken's already basically basically sacked, so
he's won it.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
There's no pressure on Ken. Ken is going if win,
we win. If we lose, I'm gonna lose my job anyway,
Whereas there's a lot of pressure on Bossi.
Speaker 3 (02:30):
Unless FOSSi loses his job before the end of the season,
then technically Ken has won.
Speaker 1 (02:34):
True.
Speaker 4 (02:34):
I think I think Ken's I think he has one.
I think he has one.
Speaker 1 (02:38):
What this game is going to come down to? For mine?
Speaker 2 (02:40):
There's a lot of fitness and I guess output question
mark in some key position players.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
So Ken set the plays, not on the injury. What
do we think about that?
Speaker 2 (02:50):
I think Vossi hasn't learnt his lesson yet again, don't
ride his bike to the game.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
It's not don't ride your bike to the game.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
And yeah I get hit, buy a car or something.
Speaker 1 (02:59):
We'll hopefully he doesn't.
Speaker 3 (03:01):
He was safety first. He was wearing helmet, so that's good,
good examples.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
Though I want to see him wear some shing guards
on the bike.
Speaker 1 (03:10):
Weeding is a test. Perhaps some weeding is a test
for the Blues.
Speaker 2 (03:19):
So he couldn't walk on it. At one stage he
obviously got a jab and came back out. He didn't
look himself. He looked really proppy. Then for Port, in
probably better news, Lakocius is set to play. He's set
to be available obviously injury. I think it was his
knee and round one's legging round one and literally he
should be back after his knee issue last week. So
(03:39):
there's some begins for the Port Adelaide power and I
think this game there's a big watch on those key
position players, especially with the recent scoring output from each side.
Speaker 1 (03:49):
Isn't that right? Stat's got absolutely Port averages sixty points
across their last four matches in Carlton. They haven't scored
above ninety points since Round seven and that included a
run of three of the bottom four sides, So they
showed again last week. They just haven't had the scoring output,
which is a bit of a worrier, especially Kerno. At
his best, you're obviously going to kick goals, but he's
clearly not of his best. He's clear clearly under an
(04:10):
injury cloud. And Port I think their midfielders just get
it longer, they get quicker clearances and a bit of
chaos ball and that's why they can score a bit more,
whereas Carlton sometimes a bit yeah all over the shop
with that.
Speaker 2 (04:21):
Carton, seem to sort of tap out after about seventy
five eighty points.
Speaker 1 (04:25):
They might start well, I have a patch of play where.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
They look like they could kick a hundred points and
then they just go, nah, now we don't have that.
Speaker 4 (04:31):
We don't have that anything.
Speaker 1 (04:32):
To be fair, Mitch McGovern, I know it was a
few like junk time Lake goals. He kicked a few goals,
So like if he can replicate that earlier in the
game rather than late against the North North matchup, then
that could be actually a good, good forward matchup for con.
Speaker 3 (04:45):
I think he may struggle though with the return of
Eirale if you've got Sava playing really well down back
Eli earle as the intercept and Lakosis is sort of
just another key, key ish sort of player for Port
Adelaide that you have to worry about how special is,
especially if Weidering is unavailable.
Speaker 1 (05:03):
Yep, good shout all right, Tips and margin lea, this
is your game? What are you? What are you starting with?
Speaker 2 (05:06):
The I think port Port win, but under a goal.
I'm going to say three points. This is going to
be a very close game, I think, not maybe not the.
Speaker 1 (05:15):
Best to watch, but close.
Speaker 3 (05:16):
Closecus Okay, I'm going to Port Adelaide by fifteen points.
I think they will just get up and about enough
to get over the line. So if Carlton want to win, though,
they got to silence that crew pretty early.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
Enough would start. Yeah, I'm going to say a bit more.
I think with the Carlton injuries, even if they get
Weeding and Kernel to play, they're not going to be
their best. I'm gonna say Port by twenty five. If
Port play anywhere near their best, they could they could
even win by more. But I think they're a bit
up and down, so I'm gonna say twenty five points.
But I don't think it's going to be as close
as you guys. You guys think contents foot. We'll see,
we'll see, all right. Friday night is the next one
(05:50):
at Sydney versus Western Bulldogs. Friday night, seven forty at
the SCG. The Sydney players are back, the dogs are
fired up. I think this is going to be the
game of the round, Marcus. It is is by far
going to be the game of the round. And you
hit the nail on the head. The Sydney players.
Speaker 3 (06:03):
Are back, Gordon, Ammadi, Papley, they were all influential in
their win over put Adelaide last week.
Speaker 4 (06:10):
I'm Marty more like he was influential in points.
Speaker 1 (06:16):
Yeah, zero zero six.
Speaker 3 (06:18):
He got negative ranking points.
Speaker 1 (06:20):
You did mention that previous fifteen it was the worst ranked.
Speaker 3 (06:25):
Game in Champion Data history since twenty ten.
Speaker 1 (06:28):
I believe that's all. That's impressive. That's impressive.
Speaker 3 (06:30):
He's done well, he's breaking records, but he does make
a difference with his presence down there. And look, if
you can just turn a few of those into goals,
it's a different story. But anyways, the highlight on this game,
I believe it's going to be star midfielders.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
The star midfielders is going to be colliding.
Speaker 3 (06:47):
You've got the likes of Heeney, Warner, Mills, Gordon, Sydney
versus Richard's Bond, Libber Kennedy for the Dogs.
Speaker 1 (06:57):
You wouldn't have thought you'd put Kennedy and Richard's like
up there in the competition's like stars, but they had
been You don't want.
Speaker 3 (07:06):
Australians, yes, because he doesn't want him in.
Speaker 1 (07:10):
But he's still underrated. That's all right, you all agreed
on this show.
Speaker 3 (07:13):
It'd be a pretty boring show. He's still underrated. And
it just shows that the Dogs scoring press we talked
about them. They scored one hundred and thirty plus points
in the previous two weeks.
Speaker 1 (07:23):
Was against Saint Kilda and Richmond.
Speaker 3 (07:25):
Still going to do it at the Marvel Stadium and
it was highlighted by the return of Sam Darcy who
was kicked eight goals I believe across those two games,
five against Richmond and three against the Saints. But can
Sidney back it up and do it again? That's the
real big question. Was it was a test against put
Adelaide Adelaide Oval. They passed that with flying colors in
my opinion, keeping put Adelaide is such a low score,
(07:48):
but the Dogs are such a bigger test and they
haven't been as the SEG hasn't been as much as
a fortress as it has been in previous seasons. And
I think the Dogs can go up there and do
a job. They did it last time up the previous
meeting between the two sides, the Dogs won that they
kept sending you to forty odd points and they.
Speaker 1 (08:06):
Started the game really I forgot about that game.
Speaker 3 (08:09):
Yeah, they started the game really well, thirty five to one.
But this season all the scoring prowess for the Dogs
has come from that midfield and the midfield dominance. That
the number one rank clearance team in the competition along
with a couple others averaging about forty one and a half,
which is just a monster number for clearances, and they
it hasn't been Bond or the reliability on BoNT Liver
(08:31):
like the out of McCrae.
Speaker 1 (08:33):
Even as well, well it showed last week they're not
relying on Bond in the midfield as much. So he
kicked three goals, right, he could do that from midfield
because he's that good, but because they got riches because
they got liber because they've got Kennedy jumping in there.
Even Fraser just gets a lot of the ball. And
Davidson's been pretty solid too.
Speaker 4 (08:51):
He's a wingman, no, but he's been getting a lot
of the ball.
Speaker 1 (08:53):
They could just put forward even more and it could
be a threat like because teams aren't planning for him
to be forward as much as a midfielder. So I
think it helps him so much. Yep, I agree completely.
Speaker 3 (09:04):
And we look at the Swan's defense and the Dogs
are the number one average team per goals per game
in the competition this season in fourteenth so.
Speaker 1 (09:19):
Per game goal game score. Yeah, they're good at scoring.
Done it down for me.
Speaker 3 (09:24):
Sydney ranked fourteenth. But it is a different look forward line.
Papply just made it. Played his first game of the season,
didn't he last week? Yes, Amardi just coming back after
being in and outside goals suspension, Gordon can chip in
with some goals and it takes a little bit of
pressure off the forward line that have struggled already and
(09:45):
the midfielders in particular Warner and Heeney who have had
to kick goals carry the load. Yeah, to carry the load,
but the Dog's midfield that's where the scoring is coming from.
And Richards is the number one score involvement player in.
Speaker 1 (10:00):
The competition leads as well.
Speaker 2 (10:02):
We talked about that, yeah, all Australian Chat last Thursday.
Speaker 3 (10:06):
Yes, in fact, they've got three players in the top
eight the Dogs, all midfielders, so you've got timm involvement
the score involvements, so Ed Richards number one, English is seven.
English is seventh in the competition for score involvements and
liber in eighth. So and we just high loted English
being seventh. There Grundy in English, that's going to.
Speaker 1 (10:25):
Be tasty because Grundy is in like the best form
he's been in about five years. English is a little
bit up and down, but he's still getting heaps of
scoring and still get a lot of them. So that's
gonna be fun.
Speaker 3 (10:35):
And Ruckman was a big talking point throughout the Cane.
Corns did mention that is Sam Darcy gets injured while
playing in the Rock, then when the game is already over,
that's a sackable offense for.
Speaker 1 (10:50):
The for the coach. Do you do you agree with that? Boys?
Speaker 4 (10:54):
I agree if the game is done.
Speaker 2 (10:56):
If the game is done, your rest, your rest, your Lamborghini,
your rest of Ferrari. But if the game's on the rhine,
the bloke is two hundred and ten centimeters. He can
play rock all day, any day, and if he's coming
up against the second ruckman, which for some teams is
a midfielder, he will absolutely he could just grab the
ball out of the ruck, bend off eight box and
(11:16):
kick another goal.
Speaker 1 (11:18):
Let him play rock. I agree with K one hundred
percent last week because was against Richmond the absolutely smashing him.
He definitely didn't need to go on the ruck. He's
the Rolls Royce, He's the Ferrari or whatever you want
to call him. He is their best player, maybe besides
Bond that you need to stay fit. But I would
never play him in the ruck. That's just my He
never never plays a rest, don't care, just put it.
Put Rory lobe Bile, someone Coonton Norton as a decoy
(11:42):
ruck because Sam Darci is their future. You're gonna have
him for so many years. Would you ever put Buddy
in the rucklere bud.
Speaker 2 (11:46):
He is completely different, fifteen centimeters shorter than Sam.
Speaker 1 (11:51):
Would you ever put him in the ruck because he's
fifteenth shorter? Because he protect him front gets injured in
the god.
Speaker 3 (11:58):
Disagree and don't get injured in the If you're fit
enough to play and run out on the footy field,
you should you should be able to go on the rock. Yes,
that'd be say why but if the game's done. I
agree with Leo, you don't need to but style of
the game at any point in the game, and.
Speaker 1 (12:12):
He's gotten injured multiple times, just just save him. He's
a superstar on the rise.
Speaker 2 (12:17):
I think people in the comment should let us know
whether what side they're on here, whether on stats, guys
idiotic scited Marcus and Leo's handsome, awesome the couch over there,
mice cat.
Speaker 1 (12:27):
All right, we've talked enough about this game, tips and margin.
I want yours first, Marcus. I'm not going I'm going
to go to the dogs.
Speaker 3 (12:32):
See, I think it's going to be a close game.
We did say it's going to be the best game
of the round, so keep your eyes on it. I'm
going to go the dogs, like ten points, oh close one.
This one's by nine plays. They're going to get the
way Errol's going to be running, Pardy's going to get involved.
Speaker 1 (12:48):
I reckon Swans, canna do it? Really, I'm going to
go at the Dogs by about fifteen fifteen points. I
think it's going to be really close. As Marcus said,
it could definitely go the way, but I think the
Dogs are just a little bit more classy. They're shown
a bit more consistency. This one's did. But we're a
port on the latter.
Speaker 3 (13:03):
Bottom.
Speaker 1 (13:03):
Are the fourteen something like that? Twelve maybe, but they're
a lot lower than the Dogs. So I think the
Dogs will get the job done at the SEG. All right,
let's get into Saturday next one, Gold Coast Verse Melbourne
Saturday at one twenty at the People Stadium, People First Stadium,
People First Stadium. Now it's a very democratic name for
the stadium.
Speaker 3 (13:21):
People do why don't even know what's people first?
Speaker 1 (13:23):
Put the people first. They put the people first. I've
got some interesting stats for you in this one. The
last five meetings between the D's and the Suns have
actually been one by the away side, and the Demons
have won their last seven away matches against the Suns,
six of which were in Queensland. So they loved the
good record. Yeah, last seven away and their last six
in queens and they've beaten the Suns.
Speaker 2 (13:42):
The teams that struggle going up there in recent times, kudos.
Speaker 1 (13:47):
Does that have to do with a few of their
trips in the Northern Territory DS Maybe climatize to the conditions,
What do we think about that one? Maybe?
Speaker 2 (13:54):
But their fans are just used to acclimatizing to the
snow the opposite.
Speaker 1 (13:58):
That's true.
Speaker 3 (13:58):
And also just Alburn been good in recent years and
Gold Course relatively being pooh.
Speaker 2 (14:03):
That is some analysis, right, good knowledge, nugget of knowledge
as always.
Speaker 1 (14:10):
Also, there's been some talk in the media about Ben
King that he won't be able to lift the finals.
I've got two stats for he has been still kicked.
I think he's kicked thirty five goals this year, which
is very impressive. But he's only kicked more than two
goals once in his last seven games, so he hasn't
taken that next step. I just want to know your
thoughts and that can he be a finals player? Can
he step up for this side? And I'm personally not
(14:31):
worried about what do you guys think? Well, I've got
a stat for you boys, how many finals as he
played in? Zero? Final? First?
Speaker 4 (14:38):
What are we doing here?
Speaker 3 (14:39):
I know, I know, honestly earlier. He's a superstar of
the competition. Is he's top four in the COLN and
he's kicked thirty three goals.
Speaker 1 (14:46):
Figure it up forward.
Speaker 3 (14:47):
Yeah, he's he's one hundred percent. Of the media has
gone a little bit the other.
Speaker 1 (14:50):
The other thing is, I know he hasn't have a
big bag for a while of goals, but he brings
the ball to ground. He's the perfect lead like you
got Long. You've got so many of their mids that
can stream forward and spring. He's the perfect forward. Still,
so I'm still keen. And if they do make the finals,
it can have a big final. You agree the Wizard
kicked seven goals and two finals last year. Tell me
Ben King couldn't do that. Yeah, it's true, but he's
(15:12):
Ben King a wizard. We'll find out.
Speaker 4 (15:13):
We'll find we have sons played finals songs.
Speaker 1 (15:16):
There we go, no thank you who more starts in
this one. Gold Coast have the fourth best offense in
the league with ninety three point three points per game.
They've also got seven players in double figures for goals.
They're just so even across the board other than King
obviously with thirty five. And you've got Melbourne seventy seven
point nine points a game, a lot less and in twelfth,
So I think this is going to be a big
factor in this one. Do you think that Melbourne can
(15:38):
keep up with gold Coast scoring? That's that's I don't
think they can.
Speaker 4 (15:40):
They could, but they might just score in points like
they normally.
Speaker 1 (15:43):
Yeah, seven goals twenty one the other week.
Speaker 4 (15:45):
Okay, they might have chucking An eight goals twenty or something.
Speaker 3 (15:48):
Yes, yeah, it could be another whoever, whichever midfield kicks
more goals, because you know gold Coasts have been well
on top in that area this season. Yeah, yeah, Duck
Millis really lifted his game in that area anderson him
in the school board even real at some points it's
just whether you know, Petrarca can can nab a few, No, true.
Speaker 1 (16:05):
Looking at the Melbourne side, they've actually been a lot
stronger since their last manning. So the Sun's won by
fifty eight points earlier in the season when they last
at the g which is a big surprise because they
don't often win in Melbourne. But since then Melbourne have
been Brisbane freo Sydney and had a one point lost
to Collingwood. So just a good look at output look
for Melbourne fans is they've they've come a long way
(16:26):
since that fifty eight point loss, but they've also lost
some random games in between. You don't really know what
you're going to get with this team, which is a
bit of a worry since they've lost the last three
in a row. They're out of the eight currently.
Speaker 3 (16:38):
Marcus, it sounds like this could be a little bit
of a danger game. If they lose this and the
teams above them win, they could go a game behind
and then I know there's a lot of teams with
a very handy percentage as well.
Speaker 1 (16:51):
Yeah, what do you think about this later?
Speaker 2 (16:53):
I think it is a danger game. Every game is
a danger. We will touch on in the next game. Actually,
oh but.
Speaker 1 (17:00):
I thought it was Geelong playing movie.
Speaker 2 (17:01):
Yeah, dangers A good one from you, Not really, Ah,
so this I think this is a danger game ultimately.
But the Sons just should get this done. They just should.
They let one slip last week. I think Dimmer will
be on them this week. He'll be pasher at them.
We'll take all that anger that he had about him
(17:21):
flipping the burd and getting a fine for it and all
that all that crap and he'll direct it.
Speaker 1 (17:25):
To the Suns and to spit on you while getting scared.
It's the that's some trauma there.
Speaker 5 (17:34):
Them.
Speaker 1 (17:34):
Dimm will get them fired up and Sons will win.
Sons will win. Yeah, I think the Sons will win
by thirty plus points. I'm gonna say thirty five. I reckon.
They can get the job done pretty easy. It is
a danger game and if they do lose this game,
then they're going to lose a lot of confidence for finals.
It's very much of the Sons of the past where
they would lose this type of game when they're on
the way to finals. But they'll win by thirty plus.
I reckon, what do you got? What do you think?
Speaker 3 (17:54):
I agree exactly with your margin. They will go thirty
five as well.
Speaker 1 (17:57):
Thirty five? What was your mind? Four goals? Four goals?
All right, that's not too bad? All right? This is
Leo verse myself Saturday about four fifteen at Utaz Stadium
in lawn Seston is Hawthorne at versus North Melbourne. Leo
is very nervous for some reason, Marcus. But surely the
Hawks go into this as heavy favorites.
Speaker 3 (18:15):
They do go in as heavy favorites, but I also
think this could be a little bit of a tough Well,
it's not going.
Speaker 1 (18:20):
To be as easy as the previous meaning is a
danger game? A danger game?
Speaker 3 (18:24):
Apparently, it's not going to be as one sided, I
believe as the previous meeting when Hawthorne won by one
hundred and twenty four points.
Speaker 1 (18:32):
I was there, nor gave up on this. I had
a nice golf trip, so that made up for it.
But the game in the rain and there was a
big line for the beers. You couldn't get food because
the line was too long as well, and we lost
one hundred and twenty four points. But hopefully this game.
Speaker 3 (18:45):
Is and you're in Tasmania horrible fun.
Speaker 1 (18:48):
It was actually fun.
Speaker 4 (18:50):
It sounds like he's over it now.
Speaker 3 (18:52):
Let's got one hundred and seventy points in that game.
But what's the reason that we will what's the reason
for you thinking it's a danger game?
Speaker 2 (18:58):
Well, I just think Hawthorne this season they've been they've
been good, right, but they probably haven't been at that
level that they need to be. They haven't put together
a complete game yet. Whereas North the last two months
they've been competitive, they've been in a lot of games.
They arguably could have won more games. They've shown more spirit,
more fight.
Speaker 1 (19:19):
The spirit. Oh god, that's so cringe.
Speaker 4 (19:22):
I can't believe your fan base gets on board with that.
This isn't gonna but this could be a good game.
Speaker 1 (19:27):
It could be a close game.
Speaker 4 (19:29):
Do we have something writing on it?
Speaker 1 (19:31):
We do? Actually, so we've got a forfeit between that
Leo and myself. So but I get the line. Yeah,
I'm not happy with this. Everyone in the office gave
me the line. So we've done our own sort of
line up minus twenty nine and a half. So if
the Hawks win by over thirty points, then Leo wins
the forfeit and under I win, or if North win
then I definitely win. And what have we got writing
(19:51):
on this?
Speaker 2 (19:52):
So the loser of this has to be the other's
assistant for the whole day.
Speaker 1 (19:56):
What are we going to get to do? Was involved
in this one? The treatment? Yeah, you can get the treatment. Actually,
what does that include? Do you think? Ah?
Speaker 2 (20:07):
Like foot rubs, no foot rest massages doing their own work.
Speaker 1 (20:13):
I reckon, Yeah, the first two things feet related. Let's
move on to the game. What happened since two thousand
and one, Marcus.
Speaker 3 (20:20):
Well, since two thousand and one, Leo has been doing
foot massages and rubs for everyone anyway since two thousand
and one. Hawthorne actually have a superb record at Utahs.
They've won sixty three of a possible eighty four games
at Utahs, which had which equates to seventy five percent
(20:43):
of their games.
Speaker 1 (20:43):
Which called it fortress. It is a fortress.
Speaker 3 (20:46):
It's one of the most successful records for any club
at any ground in the league, which I don't think
gets spoken about often enough. They won both of their
games there this season, albeit narrow wins. We're in tough,
tough conditions though against Jubi West Yep in those blustery
conditions and also the LA one was tough although they
(21:07):
didn't play their very best, but they still get the
job done, which could be the case again this weekend.
Whereas you look at North record at Utahs obviously a
lot less games, but they are one and three in
the past decade at Utahs.
Speaker 1 (21:21):
And North.
Speaker 3 (21:24):
The insane stat of North with the rest disadvantage.
Speaker 1 (21:28):
Will it continue?
Speaker 3 (21:29):
It's been forty three games.
Speaker 1 (21:31):
Records are meant to be broken.
Speaker 3 (21:34):
Close against Free they did get they lost, They did
get close, but they lost and Hawthorne obviously coming off
a buye. We've talked about teams post by are they
a little bit shaky? But actually there've been a positive
record so far this season teams coming off the bye
in this middle season. By period, the teams are six
and four throughout that thread than I expected. I thought
(21:56):
they would have lost more than they won.
Speaker 1 (21:58):
Yes, yeah, I agree with that. Yeah, and then Lea,
you've got to just an underrated player lately.
Speaker 2 (22:03):
Lately underrated is the right word. Look McDonald, now he's
been maligned player in the past.
Speaker 1 (22:09):
Did I say that we overheted? No?
Speaker 2 (22:14):
But he has put together a strong couple of weeks.
He has, He's been very good. And I actually looked
at the injury list and Jackson Archers also a test
that would be a big I think that would be
an important in because this week look McDonald and potentially Archer,
they've got the match up of the Wizard and Dylan Moore,
who are pacier guys. You can get out of the
back a bit more. How do we think that almac
(22:34):
can stand up in this one? Can he continue his
strong form?
Speaker 1 (22:37):
This is not his type of game against like the
faster place. I think clearly I think if Norths play
that group sort of defense which we have been sort
of flooding it a bit, and everyone comes off their
man helps, then yes, he'll be all right. But if
if the Wizard or Delamore gets a bit of space
out of the back, which North are very prone to,
they could kick three or four plus like each of them.
So I'm a bit worried about that.
Speaker 2 (22:57):
I think a lot of that as well is ended
on the pressure upfield. If the ball's easy coming inside fifty,
I don't think it matters who's on those quicker guys.
Speaker 1 (23:06):
Yeah not fair cool, all right, should get into the
tips and margin we have you with. Let's let's see
who we think is going to do the full fit.
Oh yeah, true, Marcus, what's your tip. I'm going to
go Hawks by twenty points in the.
Speaker 4 (23:18):
Four Hawks by fifteen. I'm going to be your butler
for the day.
Speaker 1 (23:22):
I'm going to say it Hawks by twenty nine. So
we just cover out looking. I was going to do
thirty five twenty nine, and I do think that it
can be close because of a bit of Toby Pink.
Don't forget to celebrate on Tuesdays to Pink Tuesdays Toby
Pink limits Marbi or Chol. I think he's had scalps
of Kerno with zero goals, Oscar Allen with zero goals,
Tracy with zero goals and Tom Lynch got two on him,
(23:45):
so that was a bit right.
Speaker 5 (23:45):
Now he faces his toughest test Mary and in tazzy
it find out he cold you're doing on a cold,
windy range Saturday Tuesday in dazzy.
Speaker 1 (23:57):
Oh my god, you guys are over the shop because
of that. Let's have a break with stocket Hey, Leo,
quick question? Do you know what the ASEX means? Uh?
Do you mean AFLX? No? Mate, the ASEX the Australian
Stock Exchange.
Speaker 4 (24:09):
Oh man, I'm absolutely clueless with that stuff.
Speaker 1 (24:12):
Wow. Lucky for you. Stock It is a free website
that gives you everything you need to know about punting
stocks on the ax.
Speaker 4 (24:18):
Damn, that sounds pretty good. Where do I check them out?
Speaker 1 (24:21):
Check it out via stockare dot com dot you and
it's even easy for your little pea brain to understand. Damn.
Saturday Night at a Marvel Stadium seven thirty five, Collingwood
at Versus West Coast Collingwood Back at Marvel Stadium for
two weeks in row Leo. Well, the last two.
Speaker 2 (24:35):
Times the Pies have played at Marvel Stadium, this was
against North and obviously Saints last week. As you said, yes,
it's been game one a three quarter time, it has
and the Pies have taken to the last quarter to
get away.
Speaker 4 (24:46):
But the line in this one is ten goals.
Speaker 2 (24:48):
West Coast obviously traveling and they're obviously without Oscar Allen
and Jake Waterman, so it's going to be a pretty
tough task for the Eagles.
Speaker 4 (24:56):
To stay in this one. Do we think that the
Eagles young.
Speaker 1 (24:58):
Players can show a bit of five, a bit of
passion for the club.
Speaker 4 (25:01):
What do we think?
Speaker 1 (25:02):
Absolutely, they've got a bunch of young stars. He saw
young stars or just stay young?
Speaker 3 (25:07):
Well, obviously definitely got a lot of young They got
the mid season draft pick that made his debut played
particularly way as what thirty three the most was thirty
one the most disposal since Harry She's for a player on.
Speaker 1 (25:23):
Most Eagles most disposed for an Eggle on debut and
Harley Reid, the likes of Reuben jim By Hewitt.
Speaker 2 (25:33):
You bring up jim By Does he play on Jamie
Elliott's and how do we think he fair, I reckon
he will how do we think he goes?
Speaker 1 (25:39):
We're talking about this is before the show. Can he
play on Smalls because he's been playing on Big lately.
I think he's got the pace. Elliott as well plays
taller for his side. He's on the lead player.
Speaker 3 (25:50):
Weirdly enough, like a lot of a lot of his
goals aren't really like crumbing and quick quick snaps out
of the pack.
Speaker 1 (25:55):
He is very much on the lead. Yeah, if they
do play on each other, what's the do you how
many goals you reckon Alliot? Were he always gets at
least too?
Speaker 2 (26:03):
That's a tough one because I look back to jim
beyond Jesse Cameron where he was covering Jazz very well
on the lead and in marking.
Speaker 1 (26:10):
Contest and jesstill ends up with five.
Speaker 2 (26:13):
So it could and it could be similar to that
where Alliott kicks four or five. But you know, you
look back at Jimmy's whole game, you go he's actually done.
Speaker 1 (26:20):
All right, don't on that?
Speaker 2 (26:23):
For the Pies, Darcy Cameron, he's been a man possessed
this season. He's been fantastic. He's in all Australian Conversation
for mine. I think he's honestly the third best ruckman this.
Speaker 1 (26:33):
Seaon he is. He's past TDK the last month.
Speaker 2 (26:36):
I think he has as well. And the Eagles, they
actually can see the second most disposals out of any
team to ruckman in the AFL. So I just want
your boys to predict Darcy Cameron stat line for me,
just disposals. If he kicks a goal, hit out, all that,
all that cuts hit out to advantage.
Speaker 3 (26:50):
I reckon, I reckon. He has minimum twenty gets a goal,
plenty of clearances as well. I think he's going to
have a big day.
Speaker 1 (26:57):
That's up twenty five, two goals, five clutch it out
still advantage my new startup last week, clutch it out,
clutch in the clutch in the last couple of minutes close.
It's really ten lines, really going to be Yeah, but
I think he's gonna have an absolute field dare because
they have some bigger guys West Coast, but they're just
not good around the ground. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (27:18):
And I'll touch on my stat line in my Big
call in your Big call.
Speaker 1 (27:22):
Tune for that one, all right, I feel like we're
all leaning towards colling with poor West Coast in this one,
and what's the margin going to be, Lads, we'll go
with actual start with le.
Speaker 2 (27:28):
I think Pie is by ten goals, and I'm just
going to give a quick shout out. Charlie west on
debut kicks a couple after he's six in the VFL
last week, including one after the signs six six.
Speaker 3 (27:37):
It's a lazy sick abso not six in this game.
Speaker 1 (27:40):
How many's gonna kick in this game? Two?
Speaker 3 (27:42):
Three, three three, A very nice debut. Alright, Marcus, I'm
going to go the poor similar margin. I'll go fifty
three points.
Speaker 1 (27:48):
Fifty three. I'd say i'd up this it was at
the G because that marvel. I'm going to go forty
forty five. I think the Eagles can be in it
for maybe half in a little bit because they're young guys,
they'd be a bit better under the roof decent conditions.
But the Pies by forty five they had to get
a bit big wins. So get around in there, all right.
Sunday Sunday Fun Day, as Leo likes to call it,
Richmond Verse Adelaide, Sunday three twenty at the MCG. Now
(28:13):
there's some that's that will cheer up Richmond fans in
this one. Richmond have won four of the last five
meetings against the Crows, and the Crows at the MCG
have had some nail bots. Four of their last six
have been decided by ten points or less. I'm not
saying that's going to happen in this one, but they
had three matches against Collingwood that were really close. I
can't remember the other ones, but four of the last
six have been very close at the MCG. There's just yeah,
(28:34):
there's been a bit of a bit of an interesting
query feeling. Yeah, a bit of an interesting one. But
this one probably going to be a different story, adelaide
A top three for offense and defense. What do you
always say, Laiter, that's premiership worthy the premiership window, isn't it.
Speaker 4 (28:46):
Yeah, that's according to our mates of Fox.
Speaker 1 (28:48):
Yes, Fox Footy are it's going to be cold, wet
conditions and they've obviously got the big forwards Adelaie, that
are kicking bags that like Thriller fog Raschlley can place
more big sort of but even there, smalls on both
ends can do a job. Just say Rischelle could play big.
He could take some mark taller than him. If he
gets a step ladder, possibly, Yeah. I want to see
if he goes on pill.
Speaker 2 (29:09):
Thorpe's back and players like, what do they call those
long places?
Speaker 1 (29:13):
Slender Man?
Speaker 3 (29:13):
He could slender Man in the circus on the stilts.
Speaker 1 (29:18):
Yes, that's it, that's it. This is what he does.
This guy, I'm a circus man. You look like a
circuit I grew up in the circus, Are you really well?
Speaker 2 (29:26):
You are from Adelaide, lady, as that's the first time
I've ever got from there.
Speaker 1 (29:35):
We've got some matchups here Thrillerut versus Bolta. Noel Boltz
struggled last week on Sam Darcy. Obviously, San dars is
a bit taller and foggedy. Foggedy loves playing against the Tigers.
He's got four end goals across his last six games
versus the Tigers, so just over two goals there. I
think he can have a pretty big one. Now, which
tiger you like? Talking about the green shoots and who's
come through for the Tigers? Which Tiger tiger do you
(29:57):
think can fire most here at the MCG.
Speaker 2 (29:58):
Well, I'm looking out for two. Firstly, Seth Campbell twenty
goals this season. He's been fantastic small forward for a
really struggling side. And the bank man Sam Banks lock
it him twenty five disposals in his last six. He's
been very good for the Tigers on that sort of
outside rolls with that.
Speaker 4 (30:15):
Yeah, yeah, no, he's been in great form. So those
are two on watching.
Speaker 1 (30:19):
Yeah, especially at the G. I think both those players
don't mind the space the run out of the back
that I've got a bit of pace as well, zip
about them. So there is some exciting signs for Richmond.
As we've talked about all year now. The Crows they
like feasting on the lower teams. The Crows against the
bottom six sides, so you've got They beat the Bombers
by sixty one points at the MCG. Sorry to bring
that up. My cars are Saints. Also they beat the
(30:39):
Saints by sixty three. They beat North by thirty six
or close one, and they also beat the Eagles by
sixty six. So unfortunately for the Tigers, when they the
Crows play these lower sides, they're going to smash them.
So I'm going to tip the Crows by I'm gonna
up and I'm gonna say sixty points just because the
Tigers are lower on the ladder than some of these teams.
And they've been smacking them with some big scores. And
the Crows could score like hundred and twenty plus in
(31:00):
this one. Yeah, what do you guys think?
Speaker 2 (31:02):
Yeah, I agree, I think Adelaide scoring power would be
too good. Crazed by sixty.
Speaker 3 (31:05):
Three, I'm going to hold some faith in the tigers
green shoots, and I'll go a slightly smaller march and
I'll go forty five points forty.
Speaker 1 (31:13):
Five, all right, no worries, all right. Next one on Sunday,
Freeman of Verus Saint killed up five ten at Opta
Stadium to finish the round. They've actually had not many
games in between. There's only been six games since they
last met. This is shocked. What's gone on out? Yeah,
there is.
Speaker 3 (31:26):
There's only been six games since they last met. It
feels like ages ago. And since then Free Men were
a completely different team. One five of those six five
on the trotten fact, yes, with the only loss coming
against Collingwood who were flying at the moment, and that
was only by fourteen points. And if you remember that game,
if they were just more efficient inside fifty, they could
(31:48):
have won. They could have won that game. Collingwood were very,
very very efficient and Freeman were not.
Speaker 1 (31:54):
But it was sort of it was similar to.
Speaker 3 (31:57):
The previous meeting between the two sides only six rounds ago,
when at three quarters time Saint Kilda kept Freemantle to
just fifteen points.
Speaker 1 (32:05):
It was the seven and a half that is the
most random. We've had some random games over the last
couple of years. Sydney obviously loads into Richmond. This has
to be up there as one of the most random
games that.
Speaker 3 (32:15):
Sat Kilder went on to win that game by ten
goals added as he'd expected.
Speaker 1 (32:19):
That's crazy. And I want to highlight.
Speaker 3 (32:22):
Two people here, two midfielders for Free Racial and so Wrong,
because they particularly struggled in that previous meeting. They only
had thirty three disposals combined in that game. And let's
say if Saint Kilda can have a similar sort of
influence here. If Win Hager does tag, who does he
go to?
Speaker 1 (32:36):
In your opinion or the win.
Speaker 2 (32:38):
He's big on Win Hag, I think he might be
suited more to Soarrong. There's a strong tackle on the inside,
Win Hagar. So I think so Wrong might be the
play and.
Speaker 3 (32:47):
Soarrong has shown we'll both have shown that they can
hit the scoreboard as well, so if you.
Speaker 1 (32:51):
Can limit that influence.
Speaker 3 (32:53):
In the last game against the Bombers, Sorong and Bracial
combined for sixty four disposals and three goals, so they
were immense.
Speaker 2 (32:58):
They were If you got your two our means doing that,
you're going to win a lot of games.
Speaker 3 (33:02):
I reckon, yeah, agreed, But they do struggle freemant against
the taller slash mid size forwards. In my opinion, they
have they have done so so far this season. And
when I was watching the s in the game last week,
I noticed that from my side with the likes of
Caddy Archie May, Archie May and Peter Wright yep, all
(33:23):
sort of being dominant in the air, taking a lot
of contestant marks as well. And this is where I
think Cooper Sharman for Saint Kilda could come until his element.
He kicked three against Freemantle in the previous meeting. It's
only six rounds ago, so.
Speaker 1 (33:39):
I'm going to go four plus. I reckon four plus.
Speaker 4 (33:42):
I don't mind that kick four in the.
Speaker 3 (33:44):
Last meeting, not three, okay, So he could do it.
Speaker 1 (33:46):
I reckon, you can again go again I don't mind
that double.
Speaker 4 (33:49):
I enjoy watching Cooper Sharman pay, so.
Speaker 1 (33:51):
I just feel for him because he has to play
as like the key forward. He's probably without without Max King,
Whereas if you put him in another side, I reckon
you could get a lot more goals because he's not
on the main event.
Speaker 4 (34:01):
He's not him in the North.
Speaker 1 (34:03):
I would love Cooperman Cooper Sharman to North.
Speaker 4 (34:05):
Can we campaign?
Speaker 2 (34:06):
How about three way trade Laki to Hawthorne, Sharman to
North and we give Saints like pick you give Laki
the time, it'd be great.
Speaker 1 (34:17):
But yeah, I agree that could he could have a
good game.
Speaker 3 (34:19):
Yeah, but one one quick big matchup that we want
to It is a big match up because it's the
two Rocks.
Speaker 1 (34:24):
It's Luke Jackson.
Speaker 3 (34:25):
You know meam about the year of the Ruck and
it's Luke Jackson versus rowand Marshall. Statsco you said, you know,
Luke Jackson had a very good game against the against
the debutante in Vigo Vicentini. Can he do it against
Roll Marshall.
Speaker 1 (34:37):
I think he can have a solid game, but I
think he'll be brought back down to earth a little
bit because that game last week. Everyone's got always the
best player. He's gonna be Austli, he's gonna be this
going to be that. It was against literally a debutant
ruckman who never played ruck is such a hard position
to come in and play against one of the best
players Roll Marshall. Although he wasn't at his best last week,
he is one of the league's best ruckman. I think
we still played very well. I think at the very
(34:58):
least that they're going to match each other and Rob
Marshall can rough him up a little bit and be like, oh,
this is what an actual good ruckman is like. So
I think Luke Jockson, Luke Jockson or Luke Jackson might
get ahead of himself and yeah, Rob Marshall might, yeah,
give him a new one.
Speaker 2 (35:11):
I reckon Marshall's a bit out of form, and I
reckon Jackson is just going to steam rolla.
Speaker 3 (35:16):
I wouldn't say Marshal's out of form. That Cameron was
so good that he was. He was, but Marshall was
also good. I think it was they were both good,
but Cameron's came. Marshall still had a goal, and plenty clear.
Speaker 2 (35:26):
Who won who won the battle, though Cameron did, So
that's what I think this is going to be. Marshall's
going to be good but not as good. But you
got Darcy Cameron, Luke Jackson at the moment. Yeah, yes, anyway,
tips and margin.
Speaker 3 (35:38):
What do you think, Marcus docks by five goals five
goals later?
Speaker 1 (35:41):
Do is buy six goals? I'm going to go up,
but I'm going to go eight goals. I think the Saints,
especially three at home. The Saints have been really out
of form, so they were all right against the Pies,
but the Pies always have close games, so I'm going
to go for smack him in this one. All right.
That's all the games for around sixteen. Now, Leo, we've
had some debates about Australian, about Coleman, about everything awards.
Now we're gonna have a look at rising stars. So
(36:02):
I think we have different opinions, but take it away,
will take it away.
Speaker 2 (36:06):
The current stand out for rising stars obviously Levi Ashcroft,
but there's a host of other names.
Speaker 1 (36:10):
You got Archie Roberts, You've got Murphy Reed.
Speaker 2 (36:12):
Conor O Sullivan, Harvey and Langford, Nate Caddy or Nate Daddy,
as Marcus like to say, Look, I have my pick,
and it's it's close, it's close, it's tired in my
heart this pick.
Speaker 1 (36:22):
Do we think this is one of the best drafts
coming through? All right? He just stopped me on the about. Sorry,
I just wanted to say that before we got into it.
Speaker 2 (36:30):
Is it the best? Well, it's a question without notice.
This is a pretty good draft coming through of recent
recent years.
Speaker 1 (36:37):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (36:37):
Maybe it's up there. Maybe we should a plan this
one in the run show. Don't think of other draft classy.
Now the games and good hands.
Speaker 1 (36:49):
The games in good hands. Yes it is. And yeah,
now who's your pick? Stats guy, pick my pick. My
pick for this one is Murphy Reed. Oh that's a
crap pick. I hate that pick. I think Murphy Read
because he's average on Fourtyen disposes one point two goals
per a game. He's got six score involvements a game
as well. I think he just fits into the Freo
(37:10):
team perfectly. They're a very good team Frere as we've
talked about, and he makes it. He never makes the
wrong decision. I feel like he's just always hitting targets.
He's had two four plus goal games, which is very
rare for a young forward and he just always makes
the right decision. I wouldn't even mind him pushing up
a bit more up the ground of me because he's
a great kick. And yeah, I think he's going to
be my pick for rising Star. I think he's he
has more influence on the game. It just doesn't stuff
(37:31):
up as much of some of the other players we've
far listed.
Speaker 3 (37:34):
Interesting on going to be boring to leave by Ashcroft. Right,
he's averaging twenty disposals, five score involvements. He's he seems
like a clutch player. You're talking about clutch hit outs
to advantage Will Levy. Ashcroft is a clutch player, and
I think he's just undervalued because he doesn't shine as
much in a Brisbane team that's already star started as
(37:56):
particularly that midfield. You look at the likes of your
pick's Murphy, he's gonna Shane. He's in a young team,
actually the youngest or second youngest team average age in
the competition so far this season. And obviously Leo, you
haven't mentioned your player, but there are areas because he
stands out in that defense because he's a taller player.
Speaker 1 (38:15):
Thanks, but.
Speaker 2 (38:18):
Who is Connor O'Sullivan is my pick? His numbers don't
jump off the page, don't stop talking. For mine, it's
just it's the eye test. He's athleticism and he's disciplined
in a structured back line.
Speaker 4 (38:28):
It's made him mistable of a top four defense.
Speaker 1 (38:31):
I do think he needs to learn a kick, but
other than that, he's very good. It's an intercept marker.
He's a bit of a general down there, already reads
the game, and he reads the game very well. That's
what I like about him.
Speaker 2 (38:41):
But boys, I want to know if you had to
take one of this current crop to play for your
team for the next decade, you can't say like who
you already said, and you can't take players from your
own team.
Speaker 1 (38:51):
Well, Robert, that's half. Who are you taking?
Speaker 3 (38:56):
You go first, Marcus, Well, I would take I'll take
legal Ash, Yeah, I already said, that's what he said that.
God damn it, Murphy will take I'll take Harvey Langford.
Speaker 4 (39:09):
Oh that's a that's actually a good Should we say
ours at the same time?
Speaker 1 (39:12):
We might have the same one? All right? Three two
one Nate Nate Caddy, Nate Daddy, Nate Caddy at North
It fixed so many problems. Make Caddy at Hawthorne we're
goin a flag this year. About this year too. Both
Hawthorne and North could use a bit of ND. I'd
love Nate Caddy, he would kick a lot of goals.
Would don't go anywhere, Ate Daddy. I think you'll stay though.
(39:34):
He seems like he loves a bit Harley Reid. He
says no me fair enough. Yeah, I think I don't
know about that one either. Are you all good with
that rising star? All good, mate or done? All right,
let's get into the lock of the week and the
big calls. We've had some nerves about the lock and
into this. I'm going to start with le because he's
been rattled. I'm nervous about the locks.
Speaker 2 (39:53):
But Foggy two plus, great record against Richmond, as you
touched on stats guy, and I just think he won't
get the best defender. And even if it is, raining
is a great kick for goal, doesn't rarely miss. So
he only needs two opportunities and he'll get them.
Speaker 1 (40:05):
Yep. I love that, MICUs.
Speaker 3 (40:07):
We've talked about the ruckman, will West Coast allowing disposals
to the opposing ruckman and Darcy Cameron having such a
big year, so I think fifteen plus is an absolute lock.
Speaker 1 (40:17):
Yeah, that is lock. I really like that one. Suns
to score ninety plus against the D's is my one. Look,
the Sun's just I think that average ninety four points
a game. You've also got Stephen Main if you other
guys down there not in the best form. Benking will
be fight up with some talk in the media that
we've talked about before. So I think ninety plus definitely
a lock for me for this weekend. You think that's
a bit of a risky one. No, I don't think
it's risky. I just a little watch on that one.
(40:40):
They'll get they'll get a hundred. But my lock is
ninety so that that'd be nice. All right, big call now,
I really want to see get one this week. So
it's started with I made so do I. We've got
Darcy Cameron fifteen plus for your lock. That's rookie numbers
for my big call.
Speaker 2 (40:55):
Darcy Cameron twenty five plus disposals and a goal, thank
you very much.
Speaker 4 (40:59):
And yeah, sorry, Flanny, you're you're in for a long day.
Speaker 3 (41:03):
There we go, Marcus, Mine's one's not as as exagerant
as that. Sam Darcy in a big game with the
st G against the Sydney Swan's continuous goal scoring in
aerial dominance.
Speaker 1 (41:18):
Five plus and eight marks how many hitouts?
Speaker 3 (41:26):
You don't put Ferraris in the thought you just agreed
with me before.
Speaker 1 (41:31):
What's he done here? We don't worry about that. And
the big call though, that's oh yeah, yeah, okay. It's
got different opinions on everything. One three hitters, contests, all right.
My big call, let me get this back on track.
Is Sam power Pepper SPP three plus goals and at
(41:51):
fifteen plus disposals he scored two plus goals five times
this year. I think he can use his strength and
pace very similar to how Paul Curtis did against the
last week. I'm not saying and and I think it's
that type of player that the Blues just don't match
up that well against. A bit too slow for a
bit of power Pepper, and he likes to score goals
against the lower teams. I think he had four goals
against the Tigers as well.
Speaker 4 (42:12):
So my issue with that is he loves a behind
and an ount in the fall.
Speaker 1 (42:16):
He does, but if you haven't six shots peak who
have like a one, four and two guys he could impression.
