Left?

Listen up Carlton board because I fixed the Carlton Club.
Speaker 2 (00:08):
Whoa and all.
Speaker 4 (00:09):
I talked about Jesus seven hundred to kick you seven
unch of the weekend and we compare him to some
of those that have done.
Speaker 1 (00:15):

Speaker 2 (00:36):
That's how I like it. Now, you're feeling good? How
are you feeling market? Oh?
Speaker 4 (00:40):
Absolutely great? Yeah, fantastic. Not the Bombers loss. We take
it as we come.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
What more do you want? As a Hawks fan? Hawks
win and Bombers lose.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
Absolutely absolutely all right, no more messing about. Let's get
into the round seventy results. Let's go to Thursday night
Marvel Stadium, North Melbourne versus Western Bulldogs My belove of
North Melbourne. Thirteen goals, seven eighty five, Western Bulldogs twenty
goals fourteen, one hundred and thirty four. It was at
North Centennary game Layer, but someone spoiled that.
Speaker 2 (01:35):
On Thursday.
Speaker 3 (01:37):
Leva two hundred and fifty games for the Iconic Man
and he was the best player on the ground twenty
seven disposals, two goals, ten tackles in a game that
was kind of fun, It was frenetic, it was uncontrollable.
He didn't really know what to expect, and I reckon
that just suited his game to perfection.
Speaker 2 (01:55):
I think it was his highest rated game he's ever
played in his two fiftieth according to your mate, check
on my mates.
Speaker 3 (02:01):
According to me, and I'm gospel mates.
Speaker 2 (02:05):
I thought we were mates. Sometimes sometimes someone don't let
me hold your hand on the show. That's another I'm
going to see a therapist about that, mate.
Speaker 3 (02:13):
Come on, but stats guy, there was a matchup you
liked in this one that we didn't really think would
work for North.
Speaker 1 (02:20):
But it's kind of did it, kind of did it?
Kind of did you? He had Will Dawson coming in
to play on Sam Darcy. We had a lot of
injuries down the North and Sam Darci's come in. He
had eight one percentas Will Dawson kept USY to five
disposals and a goal in the first three quarters.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
Very similar to Jess versus rub and Jimmy the other week.
Speaker 1 (02:37):
Were were like, Jimmy's put up a really good fight,
He's got a lot of spoils at him, and then
Jason goes bang bang bang.
Speaker 2 (02:41):
Darcy just showed his elite fitness, his skills.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
Dawson's only played a handful of games and he ended
up with four goals too, But I really was surprised
he had Will Dawson a bit tall. These two hundred
centimeters still a ten centimeter gap to Sam Darcy, but
he put up a strong effort and that's an exciting
one for North fans.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
But Sam Dustie.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
Showed his class, like to say that he had an
okay game and then end of it four it's still
a beasts.
Speaker 3 (03:02):
And another matchup I really like in this one was
Nick Larky versus Lob Slash o'donald.
Speaker 2 (03:06):
Yes, it was a fun matchup.
Speaker 3 (03:07):
And when North got that transition game going, they got
Larkie at the back that suited into a tea and
he had Loby and O'Donnell on the rope. So I thought,
but credits are the way Lobby and Jod I'm going
to call him work back into the game. They com
buy him for seventeen intercept possessions and the Dogs sort
of brought the pack kicking back. There wasn't that much
transition from North, and yeah, I thought they really excelled
(03:30):
with that. The big men for the Dogs down back
and one big man you talked about Darcy and Darcy.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
Deserves the portals.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
To kick four in the end is great, but Aaron Norton,
he deserves import its five goals, and most of them
when Darcy wasn't doing much. You need the Dogs needed
someone to step up. They needed an accurate kick, and
Aaron Norton says, I'm actually going to be the man,
and he did it last week and he's done it
this week.
Speaker 2 (03:52):
Well done. How often are you going along? Good?
Speaker 1 (03:54):
We're going to rely on Norton to kick a few
goals and accurate. Credit to him. I hope he can
continue this four because that's a big thing for the
Dogs if he can kick accurately.
Speaker 2 (04:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (04:02):
Yeah, there's been a big question mark, isn't it over
the Dogs? And like how far they could actually go
with Norton as a second tool because he's typically inaccurate.
Speaker 1 (04:11):
But he finished with five goals too on the weekend. Yeah, absolutely,
it was great. The other one I wanted to finish
off on. Liber and Bond were the first teammates of
all time to both have ten plus tackles and two
plus goals in the same game. So pretty good effort
there from the two legends of the Dogs. So put
on Ray of this Gray. Absolutely that awesome for liber Any,
Swandred and fiftieth to get that big win. Next game here,
(04:33):
let's go to Friday night footy at the MCG. The
old rivalry of Carlton versus Collingd wasn't really much of
a rivalry. But Carlton eight goals eleven fifty nine, calling
them seventeen goals thirteen, one hundred and fifteen, the pie
is just too good.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
Marcus.
Speaker 4 (04:45):
I think, well, after the first quarter we were like,
hold on, can Culton somewhat make a game of this?
Speaker 1 (04:50):
Well?
Speaker 4 (04:50):
Because they started okay, they were competitive, but it was
symbolic they were an absolute rabble after that, and was
symbolic in that first quarter when weirdering Farrell they did
the blunder Wing went for the spoil, Farrell went for
the chrest chess mark and it goes through and bounces
through for a goal. Like it's just little stuff like that.
It just looks like at both ends of the ground,
(05:11):
even in the middle, there's just no synergy right now
Princess Park for the Blues, so and I think that
margin could have been a lot worse. There are a
lot of goals, A few goals late from Carlton and
Colin Wood also missed some chances. But even everything that
looks like it's going right for Carlton, everything that does
start going right goes wrong. And it was Zach Williams
(05:33):
on the weekend. He was by far their most dangerous
player was around. He kicked three goals and then, of course,
in typical Zach Williams fashion, gets injured and subbed out
at three quarter time with yet another injury, this time
knee injury.
Speaker 1 (05:46):
I feel like he's done that so many times that
the Blues where he's had a good string of goals
because when he's been playing fort he's been kicking goals
a lot this year, but then he just gets into
I really feel for him because he's a superstar. He
was a really good at Jedi Race, even though half back. Yeah,
then he get injured, injured, injured. Then he's come to
the and he's kicking a few goals, then he gets
injured again, Like I feel for him.
Speaker 4 (06:03):
Yeah, well, I think it was we worked out at
the gym, falling enough. How many how many games Zaq
Williams has played over the past four or five years,
and how much he's actually getting paid per game, and
I think I think it was around the mark of
fifty thousand per game.
Speaker 2 (06:17):
That's when Leo's getting per show.
Speaker 1 (06:19):
I'm pretty sure as well under the year under see
for the vibes, you're not actually getting paid.
Speaker 4 (06:25):
Well, we'll cross over to Collingwood small forward and we
can't go past Jamie Elliott without Jamie Elliott. He torked McGovern.
He had McGovern on the ropes and he was he
always had an extra few feet on him, especially on
the lead. And there was a period in that third
quarter where he was just having shot after shot within
a five minute period, and I think he just kicked
(06:47):
three goals out of nowhere. But he now has the
most goals in his career and there's still seven home
and away games to play. So he's on track for
a big year, isn't he.
Speaker 1 (06:55):
Loom Yeah, yeah, So he's got forty goals for the
first time ever in his career.
Speaker 3 (07:00):
Surprizes me. I thought he would have done that before.
Speaker 1 (07:02):
I thought so too. He's had thirty nine before, but
not forty or above. He's thirty two. I think they
need teams need to put a bit more respect on
his name. The guy know he's an older guys like
that quick, he's still quick. McGovern's a bit older, Like
I'd be putting a young Fasco on him just to
try and keep up with him on the lead because
he's like first burst on the lead and his hands
obviously love. He's heard he's unreal so good, So I
think people need to put more respect on his name
(07:22):
for a thirty two yard because he's unbelievable.
Speaker 4 (07:24):
And another old player just getting back into the swing
of things. It was teacher was Tom Mitchell his first
game back after what seemed like forever.
Speaker 2 (07:33):
I think it was four hundred plus days, wasn't a
four hundred.
Speaker 4 (07:35):
And twenty three days or something like that. He just
looked like he never left. He had twenty six disposals
and had the ball on a string at some time.
So that's just even more positive signs for Collingwood. If
there weren't already so many to names, they didn't even
need him, And now he's Yeah, he's a beast. And
in saying that, I'm going to ask a question to
each of you boys about both Collingwood and about Carlton God.
Speaker 2 (07:56):
I have to get Collingwood Liam.
Speaker 1 (07:58):
With Collingwood, Ken anyone stop the Pyes, Look, I don't
think in the long run no, But the team that's
going to get the closest still is Geelong.
Speaker 2 (08:06):
They were great against them at the G.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
They're the only team that's beaten them at the G,
which I think great. You' always had the lines are
going to be up there. They've been them as well.
But I think it has to be Geelong as the
only team that can stop them, like just say it's
Grand Final Day. I think the experience of the Cats.
They've got so many stars, but right now they're flying.
Speaker 2 (08:23):
They're not going to get caught on top of the ladder.
So no, no one can stop the Pies.
Speaker 4 (08:26):
And follow up, could this be the best season almost
dominant season we've seen since two thousand oh along nine
only lost one game and that was by a kick
in the very last time and away game and won
the green fall.
Speaker 3 (08:42):
Been a recent advice there, mate, Yeah, before it was born.
Speaker 1 (08:46):
Man, rec No, I'm saying with Collingwood or with Collingwood, well,
I don't know that they're putting up a fantastic campaign
and they've only lost two games.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
They had the blundering opening round and then obviously they
could have won against Geelong.
Speaker 1 (08:57):
Well, they've had the same record as their twenty twenty
f three through fifteen games, so I don't.
Speaker 2 (09:02):
Know, best season ever.
Speaker 4 (09:05):
Know they're on track for the premiership maybe now Leo.
How do we fix Carlton? It's the question everyone wants
to know, everyone wants answered. How do we fix the
Carlton board? Listen up, this is what you got to do.
Speaker 2 (09:16):
I don't even known. I don't even know if Vos
is the right man.
Speaker 3 (09:20):
I'm just going to say, oh, but when you've got
John Longmire out there and you've got Adam Simpson out there,
do you just chuck a sneaky phone call two very
very good coaches who know how to get it done
in important moments. But I think on field for Carlton,
there's one thing they really lack, and that's elite ball users.
And I think they have the star talent, but their
game plan is very basic. It's win the contested ball,
(09:43):
get it forward, play a territory game. But the kick
inside fifty to these forwards is just no any AFL standards.
They need to recruit some elite kicks. I think Jagger
Smith coming back next season obviously, injuredies ACL. He's a
great kick, but they need at least four or five others.
Speaker 2 (09:59):
Know, you can't you can't oil on like you know
Jago Smith's going to come back. Yeah, exactly. He hasn't
played a game of football the first year player's done
his ACL.
Speaker 4 (10:05):
You don't want to be relying on that. Oh he
would have been my pick for the Rosing staff. He
played the year as well.
Speaker 3 (10:11):
But the other thing as well, they don't These are
elite kicks. They don't need to be speedy, they don't
need to get a lot of the ball even they
just need to have that role of being a good
ball user because that is their glaring issue.
Speaker 2 (10:22):
For mine at the moment. Yeah, good call, Colie. They
get the job done that. They're flying on top of
the ladder.
Speaker 1 (10:26):
And as Leo mentioned, there's a few things I need
to fix at Princess Parker.
Speaker 2 (10:30):
Of course.
Speaker 1 (10:31):
Next one we got optic Stadium Friday night as well.
We had a doubleheader on Friday night. We already spoke
about that on the Thursdays. I don't know how we
feel about that, but here we go. West Coast eight goals,
four fifty two GWS sixteen goals, fifteen smashed them one
hundred and eleven.
Speaker 2 (10:44):
The Giants. They didn't even need Jesse Oogan he was
I think he was out with sixth in the Yeah, yeah,
I'm not sure.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
To be honest though, when he went out, did anyone
go eagles or a chance?
Speaker 2 (10:54):
Because that's what I thought then.
Speaker 4 (10:57):
I'm big on the GTB train. You are a big sound.
They're coming hard. They're coming hard towards the end of
the season.
Speaker 1 (11:02):
Yes, they're playing good football, are playing they beat West Coast,
but they've had ten different goal kickers, which was really
promising without Jesse Hoagan because he gave nine goals last time.
He going, where are they getting the other nine goals from? Well,
just everyone stepped up. I thought they were really led
by Finn Callahan, the rolls Royce they call him over
their thirty seven touches and a goal.
Speaker 2 (11:20):
Tom Green was really good as well.
Speaker 1 (11:22):
He had thirty five disposals and Zava Holoran career best
game Bernard's from the pilm off from the pit twenty
seven disposals, two goals to nine score involvements, easily his
career best game. They've been saying the Giants boys will
be like Oh, he's capable of this, and I just
want to see that against some of the better teams.
Speaker 2 (11:39):
But awesome effort by him to have that type of game.
Speaker 1 (11:42):
There's a lot of beef in this one, lot of
feeling weirdly. Even though it was like sixty or so points.
He had Toby Green at his chaotic best. He was
fighting with Harley Reid and Tom Green was fighting with
Harley Reid. Harley Reid has had more fights than disposal disposals.
I reckon this season because he needs to just calm down.
But anyway you've had. Toby Green was awesome, Maddie character best.
As I just mentioned, three goals for eighteen disposals. It
(12:03):
was a classic thre goal. It's a classic Toby game
where he could have just kicked at least five or six.
Speaker 2 (12:07):
But he's starting fights and it's probably routed him in
front of goal.
Speaker 1 (12:10):
He's lining up for goal and he's thinking of pulling
Harvey Reid's long hair or something like that.
Speaker 4 (12:13):
I don't know he was going to run up to
and jump a punch after he kicks the goal exactly.
Speaker 3 (12:17):
You're thinking about pulling the Harley reads long hair.
Speaker 1 (12:20):
Yeah, Marcus is in a different way maybe, but we've
also got the Giants great speed and bore us off
half back really highlighted. I think that was the difference.
They were just elite, and their elite kicking was really different.
The pressure from Callahan's while he started the game, Darcy
Jones got a goal in the first fifteen seconds because
of a color hands mother and you're watching that as
a giantant gone, oh, we're on today, We're on. He's
just had a massive smile and let it get a goal.
(12:41):
And Darcy Jones, let's now everyone's calling him the kid
with the lids. He had his own little section. He's
from w A and there's lots of kids and fans
in helmets, so I love to see that.
Speaker 2 (12:50):
Yeah, is he taller than you? He's going to be right,
I don't think so.
Speaker 1 (12:54):
Well, if you put the helmet, maybe a few more inches, Yeah,
I reckon I'd be taller to him.
Speaker 2 (12:59):
Good.
Speaker 3 (13:00):
Now, he's a fantastic player.
Speaker 2 (13:03):
I was just going to talk you about. He's a
great player, great agility in speed.
Speaker 3 (13:06):
He's hard to catch and I think I show speed
found that out, didn't he?
Speaker 1 (13:10):
Yes, I forgot about that from Homy races. He lost absolutely.
We got Jimmy who I mentioned before. He was really
solid in defense. He kept Cadman quiet for most of
the game. And it's tough. Cabin still got two goals,
but when the opposition has twenty more twenty one more
inside fifties, it's tough that Cabin's played two goals and
great science For Joe Shanahan, we were talking him up
before Marcus two goals, fort end disposals, one hundred and
(13:31):
ninety five centimeter guy like that, I think pretty pretty impressive,
and you've got.
Speaker 3 (13:33):
To invest in him because if they're losing Oscar Allen,
he's got to come in play alongside Jack Williams and
Jack Waterman.
Speaker 4 (13:39):
He was very much like an Oscar Allen sort of type,
like the presence in the air, and then he did
a couple of good things on ground level as well,
just feeding handballs out to runners gone pass.
Speaker 1 (13:48):
Yeah, we've talked up a different sort of guy for
West Coast each week, so that's a positive sign for West.
Speaker 2 (13:52):
So we're going to do it at once.
Speaker 1 (13:53):
That is actually right. The Giants is well perfect percentage booster.
They jumped free on the ladder because of that. They
really needed that because they were way behind. So that's
a really good sign for GWS down and they get
the job done by by plenty plenty next one Saturday
at a Marvel Stadium, Essendon, Gold Coast Essendon eleven goals
eight to seventy four, Gold Coast eighteen goals seven, one
(14:15):
hundred and fifteen.
Speaker 2 (14:16):
Leo, you two had a bit of a debate on
the Thursday show. Had it end on?
Speaker 3 (14:19):
Yeah, this is where the start of the period for
me where I look like an idiot this show because.
Speaker 2 (14:25):
I was wrong. Mark as well done. You were unfortunately right.
Speaker 3 (14:27):
Look s you're an Essendon fan, but you were right.
You said gold Coaster win.
Speaker 2 (14:31):
Essendon teased about the game. They tease me. They always
tease this man. They always tease me. They had me
only coming off time and then he wants it's not
talking about your home. Let's talk about the footage.
Speaker 3 (14:47):
Look, it was the lack of scoring for Essendon that
really let them down.
Speaker 2 (14:51):
They can get territory, all right.
Speaker 3 (14:52):
They won the inside fifties, but the Suns were just
way more efficient inside fifty at least for Bombers fan.
Zach merrit is back. It is him, How good is he?
Speaker 1 (15:01):
Like? Just watching him in full flight, forty disposals. We
missed him when he went on holiday for a holiday.
Speaker 3 (15:09):
Old team's twelve clearances and yeah, I think you had
the most center bouncers for Essenon, which.
Speaker 1 (15:14):
Is how it should be, Brad Scott, if you're listening hard,
it's not a hard game to get ro I don't
know about that one.
Speaker 3 (15:23):
I think the real difference in this game, and I'll
shout you out here, Marcus, you talked about it in
the previous show is the goals from midfield, So you
talk about you know, Reed, who I thought played really
well in king the keys, kicking seven between them. That's
obviously really good for the Suns. But you're throwing Humphrey
Anderson and took me like combining for five goals. It's
little things like that that Essendon just don't really have
(15:45):
at the moment.
Speaker 2 (15:47):
And yeah, it just makes a huge difference. One player.
Speaker 3 (15:50):
I do want to give a shout out for that,
maybe slid under the radar a little bit for the Suns.
Jeffrey JJ better JJS. Forget Jason Johannison, what's he got?
A normous myth?
Speaker 2 (16:00):
The Sons I got Joel Jeffrey Jeffery's a non smith twenty.
Speaker 3 (16:05):
Twenty six, potentially thirty two disposals, eight rebounds, eight rebound fifties.
Speaker 2 (16:09):
And I love his transition.
Speaker 3 (16:10):
He's gone from forward pocket to a half back, and
I think he's played a really good and important role
for them down there. And just to end on this game, Marcus,
I do, I do feel a bit bad because that's
going to have lost you.
Speaker 2 (16:24):
I do because I do. I do because Marcus is
my foret. I'm not taking this fake love.
Speaker 3 (16:28):
Marcus is my friend, and I don't want to see
my friends sad.
Speaker 2 (16:32):
So I want you.
Speaker 3 (16:33):
To talk about how excited you are about seeing Nate,
Nate Caddy or Nate Daddy and Archer may do their thing.
Speaker 2 (16:40):
They were great, how good they were. They were great.
Speaker 1 (16:42):
Caddy Caddy was a threat all game and he just
he makes defit of the.
Speaker 2 (16:46):
Umpires a threat even with the umpires. Does he get
a suspension for that? I don't think he did. I
think maybe not.
Speaker 4 (16:53):
Anyways, even the AFL was just trying to take us
out at the moment. I think, yeah, Nate Caddy was
holding his lean. He's just he's a threat for defenders
and forces him to make the mistakes. So I think
mac Andrew made a couple of mistakes on him which
which gave away goals. But Archer may had had that
five minute spell where he looked like he was on
(17:15):
top of the world.
Speaker 2 (17:15):
Even Bruden celebrating in the stands, so yeah, that's the
first time he celebrated an essen and goal, that's for sure. Yes,
they're technically related, that's what. Yeah, No, I didn't know.
I didn't know if Marcus one did you know that? Yeah,
there we go.
Speaker 1 (17:30):
That's another there we go, And lads, do we think
them curse and Marvel's gone?
Speaker 2 (17:34):
Like the games there Now they did lose the Richmond
there though earlier in the season they did, but they've
won a couple of six. Maybe that's the.
Speaker 3 (17:41):
New dimmer curses they're going to They're going to lose the.
Speaker 4 (17:43):
Richmalf I feel like the old the old Gold Coast
would have lost this game in that last quarter. Instead
they were workmen like and they just dominated and they
got out of first gear.
Speaker 2 (17:52):
Yeah, they do look a lot more classy nowadays. That's
very good.
Speaker 1 (17:55):
Saturday gm hb A Stadium is the next one up.
Geelong Verse Richmond eighteen goals sixteen to one hundred and
twenty four smashed Richmond seven goals ten at fifty two.
Speaker 2 (18:06):
This was a bolting Marcus.
Speaker 4 (18:07):
It was, but the Tigers actually started the game fairly okay,
they led the inside fifty count at the end of
the first quarter, Everilding was seventeen to twelve. But it
was sad, and with the news of Sammy Lawler's return,
it was such a high and then such a low
again because he's reinjured his hamstring. And there were a
few other Tigers players who also got Knox as well,
(18:29):
but came on throughout the game, but you could tell
that they weren't one hundred percent. So keep an eye
on that for Richmond next week. Maybe some more deputants.
Speaker 2 (18:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (18:38):
One thing I will say is Taj Hotten their drafted
last year's played now three games coming back from an ACL.
Speaker 2 (18:44):
It was meant to go top three, top five before
he did his ACL.
Speaker 3 (18:47):
So I know, lolo injuries sad, But if you're a
Tiger's fan, you'll see hot next week.
Speaker 4 (18:51):
I reckon And obviously we did the interview with Kane mccauliffe, yes,
so check that out.
Speaker 2 (18:56):
Hopefully he's back soon. I think two weeks away, two
weeks away. Easy with midfetter as well. He can get
it together.
Speaker 1 (19:01):
The ball out of there It acts on YouTube podcast Tuesday,
Apple podcast, Spotify on Tuesday. So Tuesday that went out
was a fun interview with Kane.
Speaker 4 (19:08):
One, but it was the Cats who just went out
of first gear really in that second quarter and just.
Speaker 2 (19:14):
Just showed to their scoring power. Let's kicked ten unanswered
goals in that second quarter. It sounds like it's good.
That sounds like it's good. And one of those that
sounds like it's good.
Speaker 4 (19:25):
What's even better is one went to debutante George Stevens,
who just was so good.
Speaker 2 (19:29):
Where do they find these kids?
Speaker 1 (19:31):
Let us pluck them out six thousand and they're like, oh,
he's going to be a browno battle.
Speaker 4 (19:36):
They have so many good done again, he finished with
twenty one in a goal and surely he gets the
rising star and on you'd think.
Speaker 2 (19:41):
I had fourteen score involvements too.
Speaker 1 (19:43):
That's that's crazy, very impressive. Max Holmes was also very good.
Speaker 4 (19:48):
Obviously with Baslenka out before the game with illness, Maxims
are thirty six in a goal. But we talked about
bas and his brown load hopes and chances in the
midweek show. But does this not playing in this game
where he thought, you know, against Richmond look no offense,
But like that's the game where he could get three
(20:08):
he could easily get three votes in and it looks
like Nick Dacos will get three votes from the Carlton
Collingwood game.
Speaker 2 (20:14):
How badly does it hurt his chances?
Speaker 1 (20:16):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (20:17):
I think it's just like one of those little ones
throughout the season where Decos just gets the edge over
bads and I think it's going to take.
Speaker 1 (20:24):
A lot for Bads to sort of bring it back,
because that's like that fair time now yeah, yeah, which
obviously is his first full season. Backs are fair enough
if he's had a few games out, But he's had
three or four like you said, so I don't think
he's going to unfortunately for him, I think it's as
might be running away with it.
Speaker 2 (20:36):
Possibly possibly.
Speaker 4 (20:38):
I'll give a small shout out to Jack Martin as well,
because I thought it was his best game in a
catch jersey and look Cameron where else.
Speaker 2 (20:46):
But he missed out on a huge, huge bag. He
could have had none.
Speaker 4 (20:51):
He kicked four goals five he's doing it. He kicked
four goals five, but he's ten goals ahead. Now, surely
he's clinched the cold. He's got it, he's got the
common Medal. But the one thing I do want to
ask you, boys.
Speaker 2 (21:03):
We did the redraft of the.
Speaker 4 (21:05):
Twenty twenty three after Fraser's game last week. In this game,
I'm going to bring you something as well.
Speaker 1 (21:09):
Okay, he's the twenty seventh player in OFL history to
score kick seven hundred plus goals and just for some
a couple of the players.
Speaker 4 (21:17):
Around him on this all time goalkicking list. I want
you to say whether you will pick Cameron or the player.
Speaker 2 (21:22):
I mean, oh, this is going to be really hard.
Just want going to be like quick fire, quick.
Speaker 1 (21:25):
Fire, quick fire Cameron or Pavlich Cameron, Cameron, Cameron or
Rewolt Nick I'll.
Speaker 2 (21:32):
Go Nick, I'll go Cameron. Oh now, yeah, I'll go Cameron. Sorry,
Josh Kennedy from the Eagles or Cameron. I'll go Josh Kennedy.
Speaker 3 (21:42):
You know, so I'm going I'm going Jess Okay, carry
Jes carry, I mean.
Speaker 2 (21:51):
Definitely carried. And then we'll finish off with Hudson and Cameron.
Speaker 1 (21:54):
Peter Hudson I used to love watching him back of
the day, you're what like five, Yeah, I definitely wasn't
around it.
Speaker 2 (22:01):
No, that's a good shot. Way.
Speaker 1 (22:03):
Let us see in the comments where you ranked Jazz,
because when you're in the moment watching those sort of
big forwards or big MiFi with whoever it is, it's
it's funny to compare back today.
Speaker 2 (22:10):
But he's got seven hundred goals, so he's got the
stats to back it up. That sounds pretty good too.
What was that seven hundred goals? Yeah, that's sound pretty good.
All about that. That's where this weekend good.
Speaker 3 (22:18):
One game you got three hundred goals.
Speaker 1 (22:21):
That's unbelievable. All right, next one, let's get into it.
Saturday night at the Gabba. I thought this was a
really fun game. Brisbane eight en goals twelve, one hundred
and twenty Plaide fourteen goals eight ninety two.
Speaker 2 (22:31):
A great high scoring game. Lads.
Speaker 1 (22:33):
The difference in this one, you go, oh, it's a
pretty close game. Was it twenty eight points in the end.
But it was the last fifteen minutes of the first
quarter where Brisbane go, yeah, we're just going to absolutely.
Speaker 2 (22:42):
Demolish the power here.
Speaker 1 (22:44):
So they kicked seven straight goals to end the first
quarter of the Lions and the rest of the game
was all even pretty much.
Speaker 2 (22:49):
It was it was the light.
Speaker 1 (22:50):
The power actually plaid really well, but just that last
bit of the first quarter, I think you talked about
it later.
Speaker 2 (22:55):
They just cost the shot themselves on the foot.
Speaker 3 (22:56):
They did shoot themselves in the foot, and at the
end of the day at the Gabba, you just can't.
Speaker 2 (23:00):
Afford to be doing that.
Speaker 1 (23:00):
You can't afford to be doing that anyway. Let alone
of the Gabar. You've got twelve different goal scorers for
the Lions, which is just awesome. They're finding that goal
scoring form at the right time and you love to
see as a Lions fan. Uh And in terms of
the midfield, we talked this up on the Thursday show,
but they were just electric.
Speaker 2 (23:14):
There was no tags going on whatsoever.
Speaker 1 (23:16):
He had McCluggage, Neil, Rosie and Butters all get twenty
nine plus disposals. But the difference in this one, lads,
was that Neil and mcluggage for the Lions actually kicked
a goal, whereas when when Butters and Rosie are playing
at their best they kick a goal or to themselves.
The difference was that the Lions Lions mids were just
hitting the scoreboard as well, so that obviously helped him
towards the win. He even got Zach Bailey, which I'm
(23:36):
going to throw to my mate on the catch in
a second. Zach Bailey finally had his best game of
the season. Five goals, won, twenty six disposals. He literally
couldn't have done anything else. He was everywhere. Marcus, He's
finally done something this season, and you were talking him up.
He might he might have watched the.
Speaker 2 (23:49):
Show and gone on, maybe I should do this for
Marcus and he did good job.
Speaker 4 (23:52):
Job, Now do it two weeks in a row, something
similar twenty in two.
Speaker 2 (24:03):
Car definitely good.
Speaker 4 (24:04):
He has the potential to be such such a good player,
which I just don't think we've seen the best of
him so far.
Speaker 2 (24:08):
So uh, credit to he had a great game. Yeah,
he was best on by a mile. I reckon.
Speaker 1 (24:13):
You've got ports forward line now you talked about at
their future. You got Lacochis coming back in this week,
so their forward line looked incredible, just goals everywhere. George
Ardis with four, Lacochis with three, Rio with three, and
then power Pever before he's injury with two h They've.
Speaker 2 (24:27):
Actually got some good signs for the new coach coming
through for next week.
Speaker 3 (24:31):
Yeah, if they can just hold on the butters, I think,
as we know, Bergmann signed, but they can hold on
the butters.
Speaker 2 (24:36):
I'm getting convinced with.
Speaker 3 (24:37):
Their forward line the more I see it. With Georgiardi's
and Lakosis. There is your key guys. They're not like
crashing bash players, but they're great on the lead. They're
great kicks for goal kicks is clever. You didn't even
mention Joe Richard rich It's I'm believing in it a
bit more than I was.
Speaker 4 (24:53):
And they played with two rocks as well, so typically
you get that one tool and that forward line as well,
which is to chop out. Yeah, leaves the pressure of
Teuelgi artists a little bit being the number one tall go.
Speaker 2 (25:03):
And no true.
Speaker 1 (25:04):
But yeah, they're looking a lot better than we probably
thought towards the start of the season. But the sad
one was pow Pepper, who, as I mentioned, he was
actually really good two goals, but he went down with
a knee injury the first quarter. They also had Byzantini
and Radigalia go down. Obviously, they got Jordan sweet. They
can cover in the rock, but Radigalia and Power Pepper.
Probably Radgalia more so because he's been in really good
form last couple of months. Huge out, huge out because
(25:25):
he did he's on a hammy.
Speaker 2 (25:26):
Yeah. Yeah, it's not good.
Speaker 3 (25:28):
Just yeah, with his form as you said, and like structurally,
like you're losing a key defenders always huge, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (25:33):
And these injuries, I know it's not you can't always
have an excuse like that first part of the first quarter.
They should have done better, but the injuries really didn't
have him. If it's only twenty eight points and you
have those three guys in, they probably could have won
this one.
Speaker 2 (25:43):
It was insurmount Memble. Yeah, the power Bro talks for
a living.
Speaker 1 (25:51):
Yeah yeah, absolutely talk yaf with all the brain cells
are going after last night, Power they matched him in
the inside fifties. They had sixteen more tackle there's more
possessions and only two less clearances. Just that blip in
the first quarter cost them and you can't do that
against Brisbane.
Speaker 2 (26:05):
That was just too classy. In the end. The line
so good on the lines and they're charging at the
right time of the season. That's they're going. All right. Hey,
Leo quick question, do you know what the ASEX means? Uh?
Do you mean AFLX?
Speaker 1 (26:16):
No, mate, the ASEX the Australian Stock Exchange.
Speaker 2 (26:19):
Oh man, I'm absolutely clueless for that stuff. Wow, Lucky
for you.
Speaker 1 (26:23):
Stockhead is a free website that gives you everything you
need to know about punting stocks on the ax.
Speaker 2 (26:28):
Damn, that sounds pretty good. Where do I check them out?
Speaker 1 (26:30):
Check it out via stockare dot com dot you and
it's even easy for your little p brain to understand.
Speaker 2 (26:35):
Damn.
Speaker 1 (26:36):
Saturday Night at Marvel Stadium is the next one, saying
Kilda ten goals fourteen seventy four the Hawks fourteen goals
ten ninety four. Marcus one guy went absolutely huge in
this one.
Speaker 4 (26:47):
He did, and it wasn't for Hawthorne despite them getting
over the line. It was Naswangnen Miller.
Speaker 2 (26:52):
The Hawks.
Speaker 4 (26:53):
They had no answer for him, even seeing Mitchell came
out and admitted he tried to put a few blokes
to them but he was just too good. It just
shows war they need his signature there at the Saints
and forty three disposals three behind. If he turned those
behinds in the goals, that would have been huge legacy game.
Speaker 2 (27:09):
Absolutely two hundred plus super coach.
Speaker 3 (27:11):
Yeah, definite minimum and Russ Lyon also talked about how
long term, if he does stay, he sees him being
an Andrew McLeod type, which I think is perfect. I
reckon if he stays, Saints fans so excited about bringing back.
Speaker 2 (27:23):
Yeah, like I feel like underrated guy. People don't talk
about true to never forget sort of playoffs.
Speaker 4 (27:30):
Yeah, but the sayings they did a lot right, but
they missed some early early, They missed some easy chances
sorry early in that last quarter, which you know, if
they put those away, it gets them back within the contest.
And you know, if momentums on their side after those goals,
then possibly they could have got over the line.
Speaker 1 (27:48):
But they were too good in the end of the Hawks.
But it was a former box heel product.
Speaker 2 (27:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (27:52):
Max Hall is putting together some nice games in back
to back weeks. He's had twenty seven and three against
the Hawks unreal game of footag and he had twenty
one and a goal against Freo the week prior. But again,
now we're going to flip the switch and we're going
to go go Former Saint Kilda player al Hawk Josh
Battle twenty three disposals, game high nine intercept possessions against
(28:15):
his former side.
Speaker 3 (28:16):
Quickly, was that his best game in a Hawks I reckon, yeah,
it's up there.
Speaker 2 (28:19):
Him and Brass down back really steady the ship.
Speaker 4 (28:23):
Both of both of those new recruits had nine intercept possessions,
so they led the lead there. But for depth, we
talked about it in the midweek show of Hawthorne. There's
obviously you've got Kelsha Dear, You've got Mitch Lewis, You've
got Luke Bruce as well in there in the twos
kicking goals and playing well, and we talked about will
(28:43):
they force their way in just to bring a bit
of competition in the midweek show do we rest? Do
you rest Gunston? Possibly in a couple of weeks?
Speaker 2 (28:51):
Leo? Did you keep an eye on the Hawks in
the VFL and how did those boys?
Speaker 3 (28:56):
I've never been more turned on watching the VFL in
our life. Why callousy Dear three goals, twenty disposals, five mark,
six tackles. He was doing chase downs for fun. Lewis
three goals, seventeen disposals, eight marks. That is what you
want for a top eight side. It's great competition for spots.
I don't think Deer will play until guns and needs
a rest.
Speaker 2 (29:15):
That's how I sort of see that competition for spot.
Speaker 3 (29:18):
And I think once Lewis sort of officially ticks off
everything that he needs to from a recovery standpoint, how
he pulls up after these VFL games, I think he
will come in for Ramsen, which I know we got
sub last night, but.
Speaker 2 (29:30):
He was still solid. He was solid down the line.
Speaker 3 (29:33):
So it is a great problem to have, and I
think it's one where you go like, look, if something
isn't working in the forward line or how we move
the ball, we can look at these options immediately to
fix it.
Speaker 4 (29:44):
And a box of Hawks are doing incredibly well on
the VFL as well there to the top of the ladder.
Speaker 2 (29:48):
Yeah, so don't fix it. Ain't broke so exactly. Absolutely,
let's do it.
Speaker 1 (29:54):
And as we said on the Thursday show, it's a
great spot for the Hawks to be and they got
the job done.
Speaker 2 (29:58):
Obviously it was pretty close. And you're you were very
worried last time. I'm always worried. You're always worried. Do
you tip the Saints? I heard you change your tip.
A lot of we don't talk about that all right?
Speaker 1 (30:09):
Should we just get into the next game, the next
game someday at the SCJ. I think this was the
game of the round Sydney Frio Sydney fourteen goals ten
ninety four free man or twelve goals eleven eighty three.
Now that's before we get into it. It was a
battle of the weird and wild animals. In terms of
some nicknames. You had two unicorns going head to head
in the rock. You got Jackson verse Grundy. You had
(30:29):
a lizard scurrying down up up the middle of the guts,
and you had a prancing pony who didn't do that much.
You got one goal and then you had to get
subbed off. So a few weird nicknames, a few weird ones.
That's a nice little quirky stat Yeah.
Speaker 4 (30:41):
In fact, if you had to say we were animals,
what animals would we be?
Speaker 1 (30:47):
I reckon Leo with the beard at the moment, a
grizzly bear, okay, and I reckon you that a good thing.
I reckon Market with Markets with the mustache at the
moment as a mere cat.
Speaker 2 (30:56):
Oh yeah, cat, I reckon you're a bit of a worm.
He's like a Jack Russell terrier. Just do this has
going out on the inc. You've done a lot worse
of that.
Speaker 1 (31:10):
Check out the socials for Marcus in the yoga outfit
as well.
Speaker 2 (31:13):
Yeah, that's right. So that was hot, wasn't it. Anyway,
Let's get into the game.
Speaker 1 (31:19):
I thought this was amazing tactics from the Swans. Every
single team in the AFL should tag the opposition's best player.
Speaker 2 (31:25):
I don't care what you're saying. I think they should.
That's just my yep.
Speaker 1 (31:29):
Because if you're tagging the wrong, if you're tagging Clark,
you can win a game of foot against free. So
you got Jordan kept the wrong to eleven disposals that
he's lower since twenty twenty. Braden Campbell went to Jordan Clark. Obviously,
he's known for his run intercept marks. It gets a
lot of the ball. He only had thirteen disposal in
two marks. I just thought that was a tactical masterclass
from Sydney. And is Jordan the best tagger in the competition?
Speaker 3 (31:50):
I think right now he's been the most success Actually,
wind Hager, I think up there even though a job
on day class, but yeah, I think yeah. And to
further your point on being a tactical masterclass. Got to
give credit to Dean Cox. I reckon that's probably the
best game is coached.
Speaker 1 (32:03):
Yeah, for sure. I think it is helping as well.
They've got their players back, they've got their mojo back
a bit. You had Chad and Errol just combining. They
were absolutely beautiful, just combining for forty nine disposals, thirteen
score of moments. They had a hand in almost everything,
especially even late when Freer were coming back, Ero was
having some elite kicks. You had Chad's just setting up goals.
So that was really really good to watch and I
just really loved seeing for Swans fans would be loving
(32:25):
this Marty and McLean kicking accurately. That's what you want
to see as a Swans fan. Five goals won some
big marks. We know they can take the big marks.
We know they can use their body, they can take
those big pack marks. But they've been known for missing
some goals. Yeah Mays recently exactly Marty zero six the
other week.
Speaker 4 (32:42):
So yeah, it was almost a carbon copy of the
game the previous meeting earlier in the season, where Sydney
just got over a line of Optus and Amarty and
McLean on that day.
Speaker 2 (32:50):
We're brilliant. I think Marty kicked the winning goal on
that one. Yeah, so this Onan's were awesome. More.
Speaker 1 (32:54):
If you want to hear about more about the Sydney
and the action and chat about Sydney, True Bloods is
the podcast for you because we do this in this
studio as well. So you can check out some more
Sydney chat on the True Bloods podcast on the other side, Now,
liter you talked up the rock battle on the Thursday night.
You were covering this game on Thursday. How did it
end up between the legendary rucks.
Speaker 3 (33:12):
Well, I'm given the points to a unicorn Grundy. I
thought he was superb. Twenty disposals, twelve clearances and it
was Comby in a double team, which from my experience
is pretty tough. Well hopefully on the foot field. Look,
Jackson did kick two goals, Darcy freedom up. But I
think when you you know twelve clearances from a ruckman
and your side wins the clearance battle, I think it's
(33:34):
got to go to Grundy and I think he's making
a case for all Australian I don't think you'll get it.
Speaker 2 (33:39):
Because there's a lot of talented other rucks out there.
It's the year of the rucks. It's up. Every year
is the year of the rucks. They always exist, they always.
Speaker 3 (33:46):
Play well, oh my god, give more love to You're
underselling ruckman by saying that.
Speaker 2 (33:51):
You know what, I hope you do get double teamed. Yeah,
I agree, hopefully we are a toll boy.
Speaker 3 (33:57):
I don't want to get double team by your in
the ruck anyway.
Speaker 1 (34:00):
In terms of the rucks, can I go back to
that on that Leo, Jackson and Darcy have they shown
the last couple of weeks that it is possible and
maybe it is worth it because Jackson's kicks a couple more.
Speaker 3 (34:09):
Goals like see, I want to say yes, but then
you play three key forwards and then you get Voss
subbed out and it's like true, is it? I don't
know that they've still got a tinker with that to
get it right. For mine, no good and then wrong
only getting eleven disposals. I thought I Driscoll stepped up
pretty well. He set up a fair few of their goals,
and him in the midfield has been going okay. I
think he needs to probably step up a little bit
(34:30):
more consistently, but he was really good.
Speaker 2 (34:32):
Glad he got the nod in the midfield. Yes they're
not in the midfield, Yes, yes.
Speaker 1 (34:36):
I got that one the first time at home, absolutely,
as did Murphy Read.
Speaker 2 (34:39):
I thought he was awesome. One goal, fifteen disposals.
Speaker 1 (34:42):
I think he's been one of their most consistent players
and he never does anything wrong. He had He's just
so classy, so calm, and I just really love how
he goes about it, and that's why he should be
getting more.
Speaker 2 (34:51):
Than for the reason. Isn't he like the second favorite? Yeah? Third,
but always Lee Boy ash Cole is very heavy favorite. Yeah, yep,
ship Bolton for Free as well.
Speaker 1 (35:01):
He started really slowly, zero touches in the first quarter,
but fourteen touches obvious, seventeen in the second half.
Speaker 2 (35:05):
He was just attacking every conners. He was doing a lot.
Speaker 1 (35:08):
Harder at the ball, which I really like to see.
But it was the last twelve minutes Free really could
have won this game. I know I was talking up
Sydney before the last twelve minutes. They had three straight behinds,
looked really tired. You had Frederick running into a.
Speaker 2 (35:19):
Goal and he just sprayed it out on the full.
Speaker 1 (35:21):
So they've had about four or five shots on goal
in the last twelve minutes and the sprayed them.
Speaker 2 (35:25):
They could have won, but I don't think they deserved it.
Speaker 1 (35:27):
They didn't deserve to and I think the tactics of
the Ones and the way they played was really good
at the SG, so they deserve to win.
Speaker 2 (35:31):
There We're gone. Sunday IVO next one.
Speaker 1 (35:34):
He laid Oval Adelaide, Melbourne Adelaide thirteen goals twelve ninety
Melbourne eleven goals eleven seventy seven Leo.
Speaker 2 (35:42):
This was a really fun game. Yeah, it was weirdly fun.
Speaker 3 (35:44):
The Ds blitzed the Crows early in that second you
had picket van ruyin they got a couple each and
you thought, hang on, dese are up by twenty seventy
and this week we could have an upset on our cards.
Speaker 2 (35:53):
But great sign of maturity by.
Speaker 3 (35:56):
The crom at home to work back into the game
and then get the lead. And it was led by
one man, Isaac Rank and he's a super smar five
dolls and he just doesn't do anything wrong.
Speaker 2 (36:06):
Just a quick one, lads.
Speaker 3 (36:07):
He's got to be all Australian half forward starting on
the fields. His impact to his team is paramount.
Speaker 2 (36:15):
He can play just midfield forward, you can do it
whatever you.
Speaker 3 (36:18):
Want, deep forward, you could do whatever you want with him.
Speaker 2 (36:20):
That's aque from stats guy.
Speaker 3 (36:22):
The d's weren't falling over though, because he was really
good twenty four and two. He was probably challenging ranking
for that similar spot in an all Australian team. I
want to call you out, stats guy. Look, I'm gonna
I look like an idiot this this episode and whatever.
Speaker 2 (36:35):
That's fine.
Speaker 3 (36:35):
I'm an idiot, you said Steven May on the Thursday show.
He's been he's been struggling.
Speaker 2 (36:40):
And I reckon. He listened to that, and he does
listen to the show.
Speaker 3 (36:43):
He said, stuff you, stats man, I see you cut you.
Speaker 2 (36:46):
Better watch you all good? Too expensive for you.
Speaker 3 (36:50):
But he had twenty three touches and twelve twelve marks,
so he was good down back. I thought, I think
text kicked a couple on him, but still I thought
it was a good Still want to be more consistency
from Stevens. He's got He's going to build that up
for him.
Speaker 2 (37:01):
He's had one week, he's had one good week.
Speaker 3 (37:03):
For his caliber of player. I agree, I agree, but
there is one demon that this man has been loving
that's guy.
Speaker 2 (37:12):
Loves this guy.
Speaker 1 (37:13):
Jake the Snake, the milkshake Milksham has been absolutely awesome.
Speaker 2 (37:17):
He had another four goals. Is he the best player
in the comic kick five goals? Six?
Speaker 3 (37:20):
Six?
Speaker 2 (37:21):
I don't care. There's not many players that can do that.
He's kicked four goals.
Speaker 1 (37:25):
He's at his most goals in a season now since
twenty eighteen, he's most in a season.
Speaker 2 (37:29):
He's thirty two. He's going to kick, could kick one hundred.
At the Raid, he's gone five goals.
Speaker 3 (37:32):
For Get him at North. He could be good for North.
Speaker 2 (37:37):
I would love him at North. I love it. I
would get a jersey of him on the back. Got
a man crushed. He's so good. He was kicking it
from the boundary.
Speaker 1 (37:45):
He needs to find that consistency because I think even
at the Bombers he was a bit up and down.
Speaker 2 (37:48):
He looks like the best player and then he doesn't.
Speaker 1 (37:50):
But I've just been really impressed with him last couple
of weeks, and he's a bit of a chaotic man.
Speaker 2 (37:53):
He loves the celebration. So good on him.
Speaker 3 (37:55):
But what I will say, every time the D's fought back,
the Crows just held him off. And I reckon Mark
Keene had a massive impact in that. So he has
seventeen touches, twelve interset possessions, which is huge from the
irishman down back. Sometimes he might get caught holding the ball.
He might have a moment were going on, Mark, what's
going on? Might do Paris Andrews a little bit. It's
a little bit dopey, but a very very good player.
(38:16):
I reckon, but Andrews has got the runs on the board.
I'm not saying on that level.
Speaker 2 (38:21):
Mason Cox's throw territory.
Speaker 3 (38:23):
Mason, Oh, I forgot about bringing that. That unlocked a
memory of an aisle. There was an intriguing moment later
and I think it's a little bit funny keithlinks through
a goal. Yes, the soft call is are behind. It
gets overturned and they play back. The vision looks like
McVeigh may have touched it. It doesn't change the result,
(38:45):
and look, I think it's actually good.
Speaker 1 (38:47):
That Ada later on the positive end of a controversial call.
Speaker 2 (38:51):
They deserve it.
Speaker 1 (38:52):
I reckon straight controversial calls go the wrong way. But
you said it didn't affect that. It was only thirteen
points and if they got that, didn't get that goal,
Melbourne could have won, so it was a little bit unlucky.
Speaker 2 (39:02):
But they went up the other end and kicked the goal,
didn't they text kicker goal.
Speaker 1 (39:05):
They went at the other end and mother was a
goal in the first.
Speaker 2 (39:10):
He's got the goal. Yeah, but that was a little bit.
I don't think it changed the results. Fair enough, fair enough,
that's a fair call.
Speaker 1 (39:17):
So Adelaide good win, really good win because Melbourne they
put up a really good fight there. And that is
the around seventeen results. Let's get into the ladder check
next the crom they hold onto third. They got a
big win, as Leo just mentioned, one of the biggest
overachievers this season.
Speaker 3 (39:30):
Would you guys say, I would say so yeah, and
that's not a negative thing at all.
Speaker 2 (39:34):
I didn't have I didn't have a lead.
Speaker 3 (39:35):
More to fu, I reckon you had them bottom four,
I wouldn't.
Speaker 2 (39:39):
I had the bottom fall, but I don't think they were.
Speaker 3 (39:42):
There is a ladder prediction video out on our socials
that I might dig up just to see where you
wanted them.
Speaker 1 (39:46):
I do not want any part of that video to
be resurfaced. Probably, but Freo's lost. They they're outside the
eight lads. Frio outside the eight. They've got a huge
game against the Hawks last week that Leo would be
very excited for. Got a big gap between the top
nine and the bottom of nine. We've talked about this
last couple of weeks, but just keeps increasing, increasing increasing.
You've got three games by now, so three games, three games,
twelve points is really tough for the bottom nine to
(40:08):
do anything.
Speaker 2 (40:08):
They're including Sydney.
Speaker 1 (40:09):
I don't know if there's a few people online saying,
are they still a chance for finals?
Speaker 2 (40:14):
Big, big no for me.
Speaker 3 (40:15):
I think if they win, say, let's say they win
every game on the run home, that gets them to
fourteen wins. We've done ladder predictors around the office where
fourteen wins isn't guaranteed.
Speaker 2 (40:25):
That's wild, which is wild. Yeah, so I'm saying no,
and they need a handy percentage booster here and there.
Speaker 1 (40:31):
Yes, they do, no fair call. Yeah, so that's the
ladder check. Let's get into the tipping results, Leo. All
I can see on the runch, I doesn't want to talk.
I'm checking out for this episode. By the looks of things,
it's best on ground. No, no, no, the tipping results. So,
like I said myself, both got nine, didn't get one wrong.
Speaker 2 (40:49):
That's what we do. That's what we do. What we do.
Speaker 1 (40:51):
Leo is trying to find tips from nowhere, and he's
got seven, I believe.
Speaker 3 (40:54):
Yeah, I got seven and my personal one I changed
to Saint Kilden so bad did get No, there was
there was some logic behind it, but it was it
was Yeah, it was alcohol factor. No comment, mate, comment, no,
just talk about that lock results again.
Speaker 2 (41:11):
Leo does not want to talk about it. Leo, what
are you doing this way?
Speaker 1 (41:16):
Yeah, Bailey Dale obviously usually plays half back.
Speaker 2 (41:19):
Yeah, it actually was a good movie. It was good
playing forward, but it cost your twenty plus for and
I would like Bevo to keep that in mind. That's
two in a row.
Speaker 4 (41:27):
By the way, we might be on a hat trick
of lock failures from Leo yourself, just putting it out there.
Speaker 3 (41:33):
But you haven't. You've lost one lock or no locks? No,
I lost the lock, so we're both on two on mine.
Three would have to fall out of the end of
We'll dig it up. And just a reminder that whoever
gets the most locks wrong will be doing a forfeit.
I say, whoever, it's going to be me or stat's going.
Let's be honest here what I reckon?
Speaker 2 (41:51):
He's going to have a horror end of the season.
Are your locked? Sam Darcy two plus?
Speaker 4 (41:55):
That easy Absolutely wasn't easy up until that last quarter
because one you didn't mention it was only on one,
but he kicked away and then finished with four.
Speaker 2 (42:02):
Collin would win. I just go against is Brisbane. I'm
already putting out there, that's a.
Speaker 1 (42:10):
Big goal results. I'll started with mind because I was
a bit filthy with this one. Ben Long had his
worst game of the year because I said he's going
to have a good, big game first game this season
without a goal. I needed to do kick four mate,
and his first game he got subbed out and he
was filthy.
Speaker 2 (42:24):
And Ethan Reid steps up, he kicks three. It's always
the way it goes.
Speaker 3 (42:27):
Look mid Riley wets for four goals. I don't think
the bloke even played.
Speaker 2 (42:31):
Where was he.
Speaker 1 (42:32):
Usually see his big heady so close again or missed goal?
Speaker 2 (42:39):
Get good one goal.
Speaker 4 (42:40):
I had Norton and darciticon Borne for ten and they
finished with nine goals four.
Speaker 2 (42:45):
You've actually been so close on big call. He's been
a lot better than us. Yeah, but he's a taking whoa, whoa.
That's a weird way to say gospel. It's a weird
way to say I love you about this. After the show.
Speaker 1 (43:01):
Best on Ground of the Week, Leo, this is your segment.
You've been pretty good at this, unlike some of his segments.
Speaker 2 (43:06):
But what's yours?
Speaker 3 (43:07):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (43:07):
Now, look, it was another tough week.
Speaker 3 (43:09):
One vote to nw M Nasai wang an emailer a
forty three disposals. Just did not stop running all game,
did it at half back and on ball and when
the Saints every time they.
Speaker 2 (43:19):
Sort of threaten to come back, he was the guy
leading that.
Speaker 3 (43:22):
So he gets one vote, two votes. Ze Bailey twenty
six disposals, five goals. He's finishing on the run. Was
really classy and just good to.
Speaker 2 (43:31):
Good to watch. It was good football.
Speaker 3 (43:33):
A couple of nights got Best on or because this man.
Speaker 1 (43:37):
Al Ibber seven disposals, two goals, numerous clearances, tackles and
score involvements.
Speaker 2 (43:45):
Highest rated game he's ever played for mine. I went
to the game. I watched it in the flesh.
Speaker 3 (43:50):
He was fantastic and to kick two goals playing his
role in such an important game for himself, I think
he deserves it and look, it's probably statistically.
Speaker 2 (44:00):
But it's act mainly. But I don't mind. He also
gave it drive by two cheese. I don't know if
you saw. He said, how's your organic tyke?
Speaker 1 (44:07):
And has Jeesus lined that's good chat On and Cheesell
commented back online the little laughing, So that's a good cheese.
Speaker 3 (44:14):
He had a laff reactor. Yeah, the boring shit.
Speaker 1 (44:18):
Yeah, Aganic, he's got like a resting of thirty one
of these. Yeah, he's crazy fifty.
Speaker 2 (44:24):
I don't mind that.
Speaker 1 (44:24):
I like your reasoning on best on Going of the week.
So now we've got a good segment there. Let's see
how we go segment. Let's go to full credit best
team in the Round with Marcus and I'm looking at
the run sheet.
Speaker 2 (44:34):
He hasn't given anything away. This will like it, So
I'm nervously. You've asked me to You've asked me to
keep it to myself. It's Richman got a vote. You
just have to wait and see.
Speaker 1 (44:44):
Right now, because that's a way to see one vote.
Speaker 4 (44:48):
Tomato sauce on the run sheet goes to the see
magpies the there's my hinting.
Speaker 2 (44:55):
The way they played Carlton. Oh, it was it was a.
Speaker 4 (44:57):
It was a They didn't have to get out of
first gear though, but that's that's the thing. They had
players like Titch come back and David Boss furthering his
claim for the Brownlow Medal. So I think it was
just an all around good night against the rivals. They
will get it done. Two votes yep, mos Swan backwards
(45:19):
Sydney Swan's Swan votes. What was that beating the Freeman two?
Speaker 2 (45:27):
Yeah, we'll give them the two votes.
Speaker 4 (45:29):
They had the chances to win free men or were
in good form, but we did say free men. They
won five, five, six straight, but they weren't all that
convincing for the GBS game.
Speaker 2 (45:40):
Swans fans get into him in the comments. I reckon
really well, who's got the three? Three votes goes to
the snail b Lions three votes put adelaide. We're playing
some very very good football.
Speaker 4 (45:53):
Okay, they had some they had some good performances out there,
and look, we did say it was a danger game.
And if the Warnes do want to make the top four,
they've got a hard fixture. We did mention that they've
got the hardest fixture to end the season. So they've
got to win games like this and they did it.
Speaker 2 (46:07):
I don't know about that one. I've never seen Leo
more like annoyed. I think I'd go Sydney three and
I don't you put Liver for three votes over the
Liver is God? And where's Adelaide? I'd have Adelaide second.
Speaker 1 (46:20):
Those dim Sims still in your system.
Speaker 2 (46:23):
He's got him back on Tide with them and Brisbane.
One vote Adelaide too.
Speaker 1 (46:27):
