Speaker 1 (00:00):
AFL Today's Round nineteen previewers here, what do we cover?

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Ads?

Speaker 3 (00:03):
I can see Richmond getting another dynasty in the next
few years.

Speaker 4 (00:06):
I'm all aboard the tiger train. I don't know about you, boys.
We're filming this pretty close to the MCG and I'm
feeling a little bit of a purple. Hey, he is
coming into the studio.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Our flagman here. Oh, that is a big one. Check
out AFL Today right now.

Speaker 1 (00:22):
Round nineteen is done in, dusted and welcome back to
the AFL Today Show, brought to buy Stockhead. I'm your host,
Liam McCallon, also as the stats Guy. I'm joined by
the two and Knuckleheads on the couch, Leo Molalley, Marcus Barzano,
Marcus Barzana rocking a fresh bowl cut. Now it's actually
looking pretty fresh.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
Hey, how are going boys?

Speaker 3 (00:39):
It's two ponies over here, prancing ponies.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
Very nice.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
We're a Pat Voss fan club, Patrick Voss fanco. I
don't mind that We're going to talk a lot of things,
Patrick Voss. Make sure you subscribe to AFIL Today on YouTube,

Ossie rules today. Make sure you leave a comment. We've
been love and hating all types of comments on YouTube
and socials lately. Leader, That is right, Clayton, Yeah, yeah,

(01:06):
I love a chicken Berger and some chippies. I've always
all right, let's just get straight into it. Around nineteen
results Thursday night at Marvel Stadium.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
Yes, it was Essendon VERSJWS.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
Essendon seven goals fourteen fifty six JWS sixteen goals eight
one hundred and four. The Tom Green Show was in
full effect. Yeah, this was an Essen and Verse GWS.

Speaker 3 (01:25):
This was the Tom Green Show playing at your local cinema.

Speaker 2 (01:29):
Thirty disposals, a goal, full.

Speaker 3 (01:31):
Goal, assists, sixteen clearances. Essendon had no answer for him.
What I love about Tom Green is how clean he
is in and under. I think he's one of the
best players in the competition. When there's a bit of
pressure on him, a bit of congestion and he's just
his ball handling his second to none. I love that
from him. And the second quarter from the Giants that
really set up the game here. I think what they

(01:53):
kicked five six goals in it and it was Jakie
Stringer Marcus dx Don. He delivered a nice little parcel
to his old he's old clubby. He got three goals,
eighteen disposals.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
And he also had two goals. So little selfish Jakie strings.

Speaker 3 (02:09):
I never thought i'd say that he's put together a
strong block of games. Hasn't His stats go absolutely across
his last six games, he's got fifteen goals.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
A few of those games he was the subby's come off.
Four goals last week, three goals this week. That is
all you need from Jack Stringer. They've recruited him just
for a couple extra goals, and he's doing even more
than that. If you get one or two goals for him,
you're like, oh, that's all right, he's doing his job.
He's got fifteen goals in his last six games. So
fair play to him, because a lot of people thought, oh,
I don't know if he's going to be right for
the g restaurants, but he is.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
He's at the moment and we're speaking of goals, and
they came pretty hard for the Bombers.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
Your boys had some trouble kicking through the big sticks
in name.

Speaker 4 (02:43):
Oh yeah, I think well over five quarters it was
one goal twenty one one goal, one goal one quarters
the back end of the Essenon and Richmond and the
start of this one, it was it was hard to watch.
I was getting a little bit frustrated. I'm looking alone
from the TV. A few things to break the TV.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
No, not quite, not quite.

Speaker 4 (03:01):
But a few things were chucked around and little little
tantrum Marcus was out. But I thought I need that
on the social I thought, I thought generally, generally, considering
the circumstances, we didn't play too bad. Actually won the
inside fifty count for the game, really surprising.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
Plenty of opportunity getting it inside fifty, but just that
final in product can't score.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
It started zero eight, I believe I was zero nine.
So not ideal for the Bombers.

Speaker 5 (03:26):
No ideal.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
If I have to give one positive for the Bombers,
it's a doppel Gangerlaam mcmarty.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
May have stats me.

Speaker 4 (03:32):
So I went on debut.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
We went and debut. He got two goals. We don't mate.
It's a positive, but not only the Bombers, but for
our show.

Speaker 4 (03:41):
It was it was bring the attention to repost, give
all the love to me and not letting that credit
credit to Aliam mcmartony was great.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
Can we get some TikTok edits of it? Oh? The
first traps McMahon.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
No, you we didn't say you're going to make your
debut in the midweek show and I didn't see you
about that.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
Did you not take the subvest off? Marcus?

Speaker 4 (04:02):
No, I forgot my socks.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
Gott a sucks.

Speaker 1 (04:05):
I was on the bench probably scolling on Snapchat, doom scrolling,
doom scolding for sure. But the genost Giants, they got
the job done in the end by fair bit. But
the problem is they weren't horrible and they have a
very young and injured side obviously, so not horrible in
the end. Friday Night at the Gabba is the next game.
This was an awesome game, Brisbane taking on the Western Bulldogs.
Brisbane at twelve goals fourteen eighty six. Western Bulldogs twelve

(04:27):
goals four seventy six.

Speaker 4 (04:29):
Marcus, Yeah, well, we did say in the midweek show
that this was an eight pointer for the Loons as
much as the previous week's form didn't suggest so. But
just considering their end of the season, it was important
that they held on because the Doggies they were kicking
accurately and they came late in that last quarter, but
it could have been even more convincing for the Loons.
They could have put that game to bed at three

(04:50):
quarter time if they just put away their chances in
their third quarter. They were all over the Doggies twenty
four inside fifties in that quarter alone. They kicked three
goals seven from the boys. Not great and possibly when
it comes to finals time, that's when it could possibly
cost you absolutely. Taking into their account to the toughest
end to the season of any side in the competition.

(05:11):
Can they still hold onto their top four sport? They're
currently six points clear of your beloved Hawks in fifth,
but the percentage is pretty similar or worse to those
you know around Fighting Gelong and Hawthorne. Can they hold
on to a top four spot?

Speaker 3 (05:27):
I think it's lucky they have the draw to be
honest against North, so percentage really goes out the window
for them. I think they can even though they have
the toughest straw, but they're not ruthless now of the
ruthless lines that they kind of work at the back
half last season, you mentioned that third quarter. I want
to see a bit more just domination from we saw
it against Hawthorne, we saw it against Gelong two.

Speaker 1 (05:47):
Games out of a twenty game season. I think they
did dominate the game. So like if you're a Lions fan,
I'm going away gone. We could have absolutely smashed them
in this one. They had ten more scoring shots, so
they nearly lost it, and they nearly lost, which is wild.
But I'm still okay, and I think top four is
They've still a lock for the top four in my opinion,
because they're just they're so good and they're not going
to have these kicking games every week. I think next

(06:09):
week they'll settle and they're gonna have a lot of
shots on goal at training hopefully.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
Sure you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (06:16):
One of one of the most pleasing things probably for
the lines about that is that the young boys stepping
up and be in the match winners. It was the
Ashcroft brothers absolutely unreal Will in particular, but Leviony's first
year was great as well. They can bine for five
goals and forty four disposals.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
Crazy. It was a bit of fun question to ask you, guys.
I love fun questions.

Speaker 4 (06:35):
I love fun questions. Well, here's a fun one for you.
Ashcroft brothers or day Course brothers. Which duo will have
the better career at.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
Is such a tough It's not a fun question. That's
a tough question.

Speaker 4 (06:46):
And let us know in the comments as well. Let
us know in the comments.

Speaker 3 (06:48):
I still want to go the de Kai. I think
the Ashcraft the Ashcrofts are going to be superstars. Let's
just put that out there on the table. But we
see what Nick does on a weekly basis, and Josh
like because of Nick is like one of the most
under rated players going around.

Speaker 2 (07:04):
Yeah, I just think they get.

Speaker 3 (07:06):
More of the ball, they use it as well as
the ash Crafts can hit the scoreboard as much as
the ash Crafts.

Speaker 2 (07:12):
I think I'm leaning the Pies boys.

Speaker 1 (07:13):
Yeah, I'm leaning towards the day guys. I think they're
just a little bit silkier by foot. Obviously they've got
the runs on the board a bit more so. Maybe
in a few years we might change our mind, But
at the moment you've.

Speaker 4 (07:22):
Got to go to to think that a couple of
these already have their Premiership winners, Norm Smith medallist, possibly
a Brownlow medalists come the end of the year already
and one of the best quarters in the AFL history.

Speaker 1 (07:39):
We put that in accolades or Wikipedia in history.

Speaker 4 (07:43):
Absolutely, there's good songs to come in the future over
the next decade. There will be a fun, fun battle
when those two come up against each other numerous times.
But I want to give a shout out to Ryan
Lester at first postmatch interview ever a little sweet when
you finished at eleven disposals. Ten of those were intercepts,

(08:03):
and he also had ten one percent.

Speaker 1 (08:05):
The old triple double old double basketball knowledge over there. Yeah,
I don't mind the triple double. That is the weirdest
triple double you ever see in any sport one percent.

Speaker 2 (08:15):
But he was great.

Speaker 4 (08:17):
And again it's another one in that defense that's stepping
up when they've had those big injuries with the likes
of you know, Paying and Handsworth over the season.

Speaker 5 (08:25):
Yep.

Speaker 4 (08:26):
Now, Leo, you did talk about the Dogs defense and
you were a little bit worried heading into it against
the better sides.

Speaker 2 (08:34):
Do they get a pass mark from you?

Speaker 4 (08:35):
Here?

Speaker 2 (08:36):
They lost, but they do get a pass mark.

Speaker 3 (08:38):
Liam Jones brought some physicality that the edge of the defense.

Speaker 2 (08:43):
Has been lacking.

Speaker 3 (08:44):
So Jones brought that Luke Cleary down back looked really solid.
I think he has sustaining for the rest of the season.
I still need to see a little bit more when
the ball hit the ground. We saw the ash Cross
who saw Charlie Cameron Rain of these guys were just
too dangerous, So I think I need to see a
little bit more ground level. But I really I was
impressed with the tall system sort of set up that
Bevo brought.

Speaker 4 (09:04):
In previous weeks. They struggled against Twill forwards and they
only conceided the one goal against t All forwards that
was Logan Morris. But now they're one and eight against
sides in the top eight. You'd think now that are
they the favorites out of all the clubs in the
top nine. They're going to be the ones to unfortunately
miss out.

Speaker 3 (09:21):
So you say that, but they have a percentage of
one hundred and twenty seven, so they're only a game
out of eighth and the two games out of the
top four. You look at like the draw that Hawthorne
have coming up, Gold Coast have a couple of coasts. Yeah,
I still think I think favorite, yes, but not a certainly.

Speaker 1 (09:36):
I think they still could make it. But out of
every team in that top nine. You would probably want
to play the Dogs right now because every other team
in there has been a really good team and the
Dogs having the Dogs have only been GWS and that
was when GWS weren't playing very well.

Speaker 4 (09:49):
So so what he's trying to say the bomb was
a good chance on the next road.

Speaker 1 (09:52):
Absolutely not, because they clearly knowing in the top nine.
But I'm saying if the Dogs do make it first
rain exit, see later.

Speaker 2 (09:58):
There you go, there, there you go.

Speaker 1 (10:00):
All right, that's the game for this one. Brisbane get
the job done by ten points.

Speaker 2 (10:03):
Should have been a bit straight on run by a
lot more.

Speaker 1 (10:05):
But they win and they're going to be in the
top four for sure. I reckon Saturday at Utaz Stadium
is the next one. Hawthorne at Verse pot Adelaide Hawthorne
thirteen goals nine eighty seven beat pot Adelaide seven goals
seven forty nine. Now, lads, we've got to talk about
the horrible conditions in Tazzy some of the worst conditions
you'll ever see raining sideways.

Speaker 2 (10:22):
It was so windy.

Speaker 1 (10:23):
It really helps the roof argument down there for a
new team. What do you think about that? What do
we think about a roof in Tazi surely, yeah, absolutely
have to. You see the Hawks, They've played four games
at Utaz this season. They all three of the four
were impacted very heavily by weather.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
Absolutely.

Speaker 4 (10:37):
You talk about the Adelaide Hawthorne was forty to forty.
You had Adelaide against Jibby.

Speaker 1 (10:43):
West, which Hawks against Glow on an absolute gale, and
then now hawks Port which.

Speaker 4 (10:50):
Was absolutely bucketing down, and viewership was like, do you
want to watch that sort of football in the best
elite players of the competition? Do you want to watch
that football team played?

Speaker 2 (10:59):
See?

Speaker 3 (10:59):
I agree with you, but if I'm a Tazzy fan,
I would not want a roof because really, if you
want your team to win, you're getting opposition teams into
that slug fest, into your conditions, your backyard. Your record
at home will be as good as Gold Coasts, So
why not.

Speaker 2 (11:16):
Just that's a bit do you want to win or
do you want comfort? Also? Isn't comfortable?

Speaker 1 (11:20):
Half the people going on to the footy are not
going to agree with you on that one, going, oh.

Speaker 2 (11:23):
Yeah, let's just sit in the rain for like in
the rain.

Speaker 3 (11:26):
If it meant we won ten out of twelve home games,
are they going to.

Speaker 1 (11:30):
But they're not going to do that for the first
but but you think in the future they could make
it for me. I'm just saying I agree with you
boys saying I don't mind. I don't want that thought.
I love the rivalry between these sides. We've been talking
it up the last couple of seasons. Guinea, he brought
back the playing celebration, Leo, give me your best playing.
You liked on that celebration. There we go hand worse.

(11:51):
Really you didn't really subtle, didn't you, the little one.
I was loving it, though, Ken was loving it. Ken
is just vibing at the moment. Ken Inkley obviously is
he really coaching lad So he had a bit of
a giggle to the Guinea thing. He said, oh, fair enough,
we beat him in the finals, so that's all good.
But he just is vibing.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
I don't even know if he's actually coaching at the moment.
Thoughts maybe he's met his barbie off the field. You
know what I reckon. My theory is is AI.

Speaker 3 (12:18):
He's been employed by the government as like a test
case for human AI, and he's just said, Josh carry
you're doing the job and I'm going to act like
the coach ore and.

Speaker 2 (12:27):
I ever got a little chad gbt shitch we go.

Speaker 1 (12:30):
I always said he looked like Groo. He's got the
grou vibe about him, so maybe he just looks like
who is not a human either? As I was trying
to say, fair there we go. But yeah, he doesn't
really cared. He's been putting milledge in his mouth. He
laughed off guineas things. So good on him, just vibing
because I don't even think if he cares that they win,
not losing the moment.

Speaker 2 (12:49):
He's just absolutely vibing now, Leo.

Speaker 1 (12:51):
The Hawks strong taxing tactics in this one in the
conditions was really impressive. I thought they attacked at the
right times the quarters where they were against the wind.
They were really structured in defense and they only allowed
it poort four goals after court a time.

Speaker 2 (13:03):
Well, how did you see this one as a watch fan?
The defense really stood up after a shaky start.

Speaker 3 (13:07):
Cicily responded after his indiscretion at the start of the game.

Speaker 2 (13:10):
Hard It was superb as well.

Speaker 3 (13:12):
Down back he really goes unheralded. Blake, Hardwick and Impy
did it at both end. Three goals in the last
he was loving it was Jazi and also a very
important game for Dylan Moore. He gets thirty two disposals,
nine tackles, two goals, but he's been out of form
this season.

Speaker 2 (13:26):
So I love the way he willed himself at every contest.

Speaker 3 (13:29):
He wanted to get involved and for mine the last
five weeks more and sicily need a big, big block
of germs here to really we.

Speaker 2 (13:37):
Want to play finals. If you want to have an
impact in finals, it's the two leaders.

Speaker 1 (13:41):
Yeah, you gotta have it and going into finals, get
a bit more confidence through three leaders and lats. I
can't believe I'm talking about Jordan's sweet in this one,
but genuine legacy game. Can you have a legacy game
when you still losered candidate already had twenty two disposals,
forty two hit outs, ten clearances, one goal, two hundred
super coach points if you don't mind. And he did
it against Lord Meek, who's no, no, he's ruck cup
up come against the double ton you raise.

Speaker 2 (14:03):
That was awesome. So he was really good in the
rock and just was so good in the wet condition.
So there we go.

Speaker 1 (14:09):
And then my last point in this one McGinnis. We
talked up on the Wednesday show possibly the Hawks tagging Butters.

Speaker 4 (14:15):
I had to, had to.

Speaker 1 (14:16):
They brought him macginness tagging Butter's work to treaty only
had eight in disposals.

Speaker 2 (14:19):
There was no rosies.

Speaker 1 (14:20):
Everyone's like a pencil down thirty plus for Butters, but
only had eight in disposals. No disposals in the last
quarter as well, So get around McGinnis.

Speaker 2 (14:27):
It only cost him a lacerated kidney. Oh va, Yeah, yeah,
I didn't even know that. There we go. I did
we know that?

Speaker 4 (14:36):
Will you sacrifice your kidney for the greater good of
the Hawthorne Football Club?

Speaker 2 (14:39):
Yeah? One hundred percent? Had my body for this worth?

Speaker 4 (14:42):
Oh jeez, not one part those?

Speaker 2 (14:44):
Yeah. Anyway, that's enough of that game.

Speaker 1 (14:47):
Saturday at the SCG is the next one, Sydney taking
you on North Melbourne. Sydney twelve goals twelve eighty four
North Melbourne seven goals eleven fifty three Leo.

Speaker 3 (14:55):
Interesting one was an interesting one. I talked about Thursday
night being the Tom Green Show. Well, Saturday from four
to fifteen or about seven pm was the isaactal He
is Him?

Speaker 2 (15:06):
It is confirmed five.

Speaker 3 (15:07):
Goals thirty four disposals, thirteen clearances, all at eighty five
percent efficiency.

Speaker 2 (15:12):
There is not one fault in his game.

Speaker 3 (15:14):
He really was the difference in a five goal margin
and you got a pretty cool stat on.

Speaker 1 (15:18):
Him going absolutely he was the first player ever to
have five plus goals and eleven plus clearances in an
AFL VFL game.

Speaker 2 (15:24):
So good on Isaac. And he was doing everything doing
bits that isn't that's actually a really insane stat. I
thought that would have happened, but no.

Speaker 1 (15:30):
It's because if you give him five goals in a game,
you're not getting eleven clearances.

Speaker 3 (15:34):
You actually think about it like it's a pretty crazy
stat and it also helps having this blog tapping it
down to you.

Speaker 2 (15:39):
Brody Grundy. Brody Grundy was acting like a butler. Service
is like he go any where do you want to
just in front, sir? There you go, sir, kick a
snap for me, and he did.

Speaker 3 (15:48):
Brody Grundy was insane at twenty two disposals, sixty two hitouts,
eleven clearances himself.

Speaker 1 (15:54):
It was against some local rucks though local st mate
still more hit outs to the North Melbourne score points.

Speaker 2 (16:00):
That's pretty impressive. That is actually pretty good it boils
me blood boil but easy.

Speaker 3 (16:07):
All Australian ruckman for mine now and we talked about
that in the previous show. We all agree, yep, that
he's got it. I want to give it to Callum Mills.
It was in some doubt to play this one, but
he's playing some great football down back. Twenty eight disposals,
ten marks in a strong performance. Now on Sydney, I
want I'm just going to give you some quick fire questions.

Speaker 2 (16:27):
Yes or no? Finals this year boys finals? No, No,
the injuries just of costing, No, thank you.

Speaker 3 (16:35):
Okay they might No no, no, I was going to say
they might.

Speaker 4 (16:39):
They could finish ninth ahead of they could, Yes, ahead
of possibly one of the sides that missus.

Speaker 2 (16:44):
Alien, I don't think so. And yes or no, maybe
give a little bit of reasoning here.

Speaker 1 (16:48):
Finals next year I'm going to say, Yeah, they had
so many injuries for the first half of the season.
If they can get Grundy playing like this, because the
losing games at the start of the season when he
was playing pretty crap. If he can play with this
next season, they get all their players back, they're used
still pretty good.

Speaker 2 (17:02):
Chaldic's taking their next step.

Speaker 4 (17:04):
Then yeah, they'll play finds. I agree. I think they're
just missing one key goalkicker who will lift them to
a premiership.

Speaker 2 (17:11):
Interesting. Interesting, and look.

Speaker 3 (17:13):
For North now late in the third, early in the
last I thought they really had a chance, I know,
to challenge the Swans and really take it up to
them and cause an upset. But they just simply didn't.
They don't have the winning urge or mentality to just
take that next step. And stats Man, you're a resident
North fan. A residents suffer over there in the corner.

(17:35):
I do feel for you, not really what do you
need to see? What do you need to see in
the last five weeks for North Melbourne for you to
go to North Melbourne. I'm happy with this year. I'm
satisfied with this season because right now for me, it's
on an ife edge in terms of your competitive nest levels.

Speaker 1 (17:52):
Can I just say that maybe I won't be happy
no matter what happens in the next five weeks.

Speaker 2 (17:55):
Is that is that allowed unless we win? Unless we
win three games?

Speaker 1 (17:59):
So we've got to I reckon we could possibly possibly
beat Saints, but they've been in solid form. Yeah, lost
the last six some good teams being close to I
was sold against Along, which I'll touch on later. Then
we should beat Richmond, but that's another argument that we're
going to have later as well, between Richmond and North Melbourne.
But look, I think at least two wins to finish
off in those five games possibly and then a few
of the other young guys coming through. I'm really happy

(18:19):
with Foss if he keeps going up, and he keeps
going up every week. But yeah, there's not enough from
the more experienced guys, and it's gonna be a tough
five weeks in the season because I don't.

Speaker 2 (18:27):
Think I'm gonna be happi either way. Saturday Night at
the MCG, Let's do it.

Speaker 1 (18:30):
Carlton at Verse Melbourne, Carlton at twelve goals six seventy
eight Melbourne ten goals ten to seventy Pretty close. One
pretty scrappy game at the g Markers. It was the
margin didn't really creep out for either side. I can't
leave for the majority of the game, but they never kicked
beyond four goals.

Speaker 2 (18:43):
Yep.

Speaker 4 (18:43):
So, like you said, was a bit of an arm wrestle,
but it was actually symbolic that the players that we've
questioned in previous weeks with caul and were the ones
to stand up and be the match winners, and one
person in particular was Charlie Kurno zero goals nine in
the previous four weeks. He finished the game with three
goals and most importantly the one that sealed the game
from fifty big bomb from fifty which blew eat the

(19:06):
margin out to eight points.

Speaker 2 (19:08):
He's he's back on the Blues back.

Speaker 4 (19:11):
I don't know about that one, but talking about the
Blues are back. We also called on Paddy Cripps Segway
to lead his side and credit to him. I think
he's had a really good couple of weeks. He's he
had about twenty nine disposals I believe on the weekend
and a handful of clearances as well, so he was fantastic.
And another one who was great, although the matchup did

(19:32):
suit him a little bit, was Jacob Wheder and keeping
Jake the Snake Melchiam your man.

Speaker 2 (19:37):
I know he's been dominating, but he didn't on the weekend.

Speaker 4 (19:39):
To just one goal and six disposals Melchham had for
the game. So Jacob Wheeding was all over him, but
it was more to do with the fact with Melbourne
they were just very sloppy with ball in hand, and
their kicking was shocking. They were switching the ball on
defense and turning it over, giving the carton forwards a
chance to come and spoil the ball, and just their
delivery to the likes and Melchiam just didn't really suit him.
It suited Weeding more so.

Speaker 5 (19:59):
So.

Speaker 4 (19:59):
He had a fan fantastic game. But again Stephen May
is in some strife and he was sent straight to
the tribunal for his bump on Francis Evans was how
many weeks as he yet? And will he feature again
this season?

Speaker 3 (20:14):
I feel like we can't go in Albourne game without
talking about something stupid.

Speaker 2 (20:19):
Stupid it is.

Speaker 3 (20:19):
Look, he's got to change the way he plays. He's
been in the system now for buddy fourteen years.

Speaker 4 (20:23):
I think it's pretty easy to change the way he played.
Just don't don't hip and shoulder blocks in the head
or just don't play. I think it out of the game.

Speaker 2 (20:28):
I think it's four weeks. Four weeks we chose the bump.

Speaker 1 (20:31):
Yeah, I was gonna say, fine, it was pretty bad,
like he didn't even try and control his body at all.
He I think I was talking to Leo before we
started the show. He just pretty much squared up on him.
When if he just went sort of went at the
ball with his whole body and he sort of got
his chest or something like that, and even if he
got him high, wouldn't have been anywhere near as bad.
He pretty much ran past him and knew that he
was going to hit his shoulder. I don't rate that

(20:52):
at all, and he's just a he's a grub and
five weeks would see him miss the rest of the season.
Four would see him play one more game. But if
because he pick it, he was superbly well even losing side.
He's still one of the best performers out there on
the ground and it's good to see him strut his
stuff because he finished the game with twenty three and five.
He's back to his dazzling best and boys and proposing

(21:12):
this to is he a lot all Australian forward line
cause the picket.

Speaker 2 (21:16):
Poor pocket even half forward flaying.

Speaker 1 (21:18):
I put him half forward flighting because he pushes up
into the midfield. He can do a bit of everything
you got. You gotta have him in there. He's been
Melbourne shining.

Speaker 2 (21:24):
Like him and ranking on either side. That's imagine that
in the same team. That would be a leap.

Speaker 4 (21:29):
I want to see the All Australian team play a
game against someone I don't against, like against a team,
maybe the Premiers, the Premier's take on the All Australian team.

Speaker 2 (21:38):
That would that'd be sick. It'll be fine. What's the
point of it, It'll just be fun. You only don't
like fun.

Speaker 3 (21:44):
Someone who was fun actually on Saturday Night that we
didn't touch on, Ashton Moyer.

Speaker 2 (21:48):
Yes, four goals we need to talk about. He was great.
Four goals and a lot of Blues fans.

Speaker 1 (21:52):
Do to raid him. So hopefully you can take that
next step. Absolutely, four goals are the Blues Their back
is call into layer that bags are back of me.
Maybe not, but they are got the job done. On
Saturday night, there was another game on Saturday night at
OPTAs Stadium or West Coast Richmond. West Coast eight goals
eight fifty six Richmond sixteen goals nine one hundred and five.

Speaker 2 (22:09):
You got a lot of talking points in this game.
Here we go. That's it. I've seen enough.

Speaker 3 (22:15):
There is another Richmond dynasty coming between twenty twenty seven
and twenty thirty one.

Speaker 2 (22:21):
Get excited.

Speaker 3 (22:22):
Tigers fans, I might even get a membership because I'm all.

Speaker 2 (22:25):
In on these. I though you've already got memberships for
eight other clubs because I'm a cheap skating I actually
owned an membership for any club.

Speaker 3 (22:31):
An eight gold third quarter set it up for the Tigers,
and they actually hit the ton for the first time
this season.

Speaker 2 (22:39):
They they oh, raise.

Speaker 3 (22:41):
The bat, Yes, raise the bat absolutely, Tim Trano and
Jacob Popper, they just said a big middle finger to
cane coys.

Speaker 2 (22:49):
Get stuff. They were so good. They were awesome.

Speaker 3 (22:52):
Sixty three disposals, fifteen clearances, five goals between us. Awesome,
Thank you very much. And it's just the leader in
this Tiger's side. You've got Nake, Vost and Broad, the
two I just mentioned. They set the standard. They drive
the standard.

Speaker 2 (23:06):
For the young guys, for the young'ins.

Speaker 3 (23:08):
And you've got Morris Rioli, one of those young guys
played his best game for the club. Is Chase down
is it's the second best Chase down this year.

Speaker 2 (23:16):
The first one is Tom Brown in the last time.

Speaker 3 (23:20):
But he was putting smothers on left right and sent
a little hands in. This is what we want to
see from him. This is his potential and I loved
his game.

Speaker 1 (23:28):
You could see the Jaws music coming through as he
was on that chase down.

Speaker 2 (23:31):
We should put that over. It was great. It was
absolutely electric.

Speaker 3 (23:36):
Question a few stats guy, and this is where the
debate comes into. Richmond have now jumped North on the
ladder year one of a rebuild? North are in year six. Yes,
have they already passed North? Have they passed us.

Speaker 2 (23:50):
On the read but not yet? Not yet.

Speaker 1 (23:52):
I think we're going to beat him in a few
weeks time. That's my first point. Second point, already got
proven performance. Obviously, you've got a lot of really good
young stars at Richmond, but you've got the likes of mccurchis, Cheesel,
even Foss.

Speaker 2 (24:03):
I'm putting up there.

Speaker 1 (24:04):
It has been an awesome the last couple of months,
I think, proving to be good performers on the big stage.
I know the rest of the team at North hasn't
been going too well, but I think that's a solid
one and the Russe they've had a lot of close
losses this year, five losses by ten points or less.
You've got that draw against Brisbane as well. Whereas the
Tigers they haven't been anywhere nearest competitive this year average
losing margin of forty eight and haven't had any losses
within that one to ten point margin. So I'm leaning

(24:25):
towards North on I'm being biased, but if within the rebuild,
the rebould's taken a lot longer, six or seven years,
but I'm leaning towards North, better well.

Speaker 2 (24:33):
Developed tent so far. Mate, You're just wrong, all right, Richmond.

Speaker 3 (24:36):
What they have over North is the experience guys that
I mentioned that drive the standard, and I actually think
it's embarrassing for North that I'm already saying this.

Speaker 2 (24:44):
You've got the likes of Lawla Hotton, Smilly or Smiley,
I don't even know. Definitely Smiling, Definitely Smiley.

Speaker 3 (24:52):
There we go the two top four picks as well,
that they're going to get in this year's draft.

Speaker 2 (24:56):
Wait till these guys have fifty or sixty games under
their belt.

Speaker 3 (24:58):
They're going to skyrocket up up. I really like what
Usay's doing. And there's even more that I didn't mention.
The Seth Campbell John D four looks the goods Luke
trainer down back.

Speaker 2 (25:08):
Just give him a bit of time. I think the
skyrocketing I think they're above your mate.

Speaker 4 (25:12):
We don't know.

Speaker 1 (25:12):
They're not proven performers, a lot of these guys. But
what positive from Tigers does use have aura?

Speaker 3 (25:17):
Now?

Speaker 2 (25:17):
The fact that they're winning games. I reckon he's got
a few err points.

Speaker 3 (25:20):
I don't think he does it all a team that
doesn't have aura though, the West Coast Eagles, they really
let themselves down in that third quarter in such a
winnable game for him. But Harley Reid, he's the guy.
He's the man, He's that dude. He's that guy power
the best game for the Weagles. Twenty seven disposals, two goals,
six experiences at seventy four percent.

Speaker 2 (25:39):
The fact though, that he's the main dude in that
West Coast midfield is worry. Is a big worry for They.

Speaker 3 (25:44):
Need other guys to help take the burden off him
because he was brilliant.

Speaker 2 (25:48):
But in these other people to go I.

Speaker 4 (25:50):
Thought, I thought, in particular, I don't want to say it,
shout out any place for being bad, I'm gonna do it.
But Liam Duggan was pretty poor. Yeah, third on the weekend. Yeah,
but just a lot of his efforts weren't they was
turning the ball over a lot.

Speaker 2 (26:01):
And that's the captain.

Speaker 4 (26:03):
Yeah, and like, obviously you got other players who aren't
really stepping up, with the likes of Tim Kelly not
being dropped every the other week.

Speaker 2 (26:08):
Yeah. Absolutely, they got the job done. The Tigers. They
one by some heaps in the end. I can't believe that.
I can't believe that.

Speaker 1 (26:14):
And I'm still rattled by the fact that we're comparing
him to North Melbourn's reb I'm just like, let's quickly
go to the next Gamelong Saint Kilda down to the
category is the next one? Gelong seven goals eleven, one
hundred and thirteen Saint Kilda twelve goals ten eighty two.
Now adds the score doesn't suggest it. But this was
a really, really fun game. I thought Saints had some
really good fun games lately that we've actually talked about.

Speaker 2 (26:34):
But they're not getting the job done. Still. I don't
care about fun games.

Speaker 4 (26:39):
You want to do you want to see fun and
lose every game, or win games of foot in and winflow.

Speaker 1 (26:44):
Of course baseball, Yeah, exactly, sounds like basseball, exactly right.
For Saints fans, obviously they want a win, but as
a neutral fan, I'll just really like this game. The
Saints pressure was elite in the first half. They really
brought it to the Cats, the tackling pressure especially, but
Geelong just kept them at arm's length for the whole game.
I felt like this was Nas Wagon and Miller versed
a long At times, it was just them against each
other because a lot of Saints players really didn't step up.

(27:05):
But he was unstoppable. Thirty six disposals, two goals, ten
clearance's nine score involvements. If you don't mind, lads, it
was his first game. He's actually stayed in the midfield
for the entire game. He's simply got to stay in there.

Speaker 3 (27:16):
Surely, Yeah soon is the as Ross mentioned a few
weeks ago Andrew McLeod two point zero going to stay
in there?

Speaker 2 (27:21):
That is a really I forgot about that one. That's
a really good little reference there.

Speaker 1 (27:24):
And he was actually bog over Bailey Smith and Maxiomes.
For me, Maxwomes was really solid. Smith was a bit quiet.
He wasn't even tagged, but he was really quiet. Maxwimes
was really good. But I'm taking Nas every day of
the week. In this one. Cooper Sharman staying on the
Saints LEO, you don't mind a bit of Cooper Sharman.

Speaker 2 (27:37):
Cooper Sharman, I come to Hawthorne.

Speaker 1 (27:40):
He would do bits at Hawthorne. Yeah, some of the
stickiest hands in the competition. He and Mitch Olens were
really strong, combined for four goals. Now, lad's talking about
those young guys. You're combining it with Nas as well.
If the Saints keep Nas and they put all these
young guys together, can they have a solid future still?

Speaker 4 (27:55):
What do we think?

Speaker 2 (27:55):
I think though? Can you?

Speaker 4 (27:56):
They've got plenty of young players. They are showing solige
likes of philipoo Owen, the Viking tar Taru. Yes, there's
plenty to look forward to in that same Kittle team.
You probably just need to give it another year to
have experience before you start really seeing those losses turn wins.

Speaker 1 (28:12):
Yeah, talking about the experience, I was a bit disappointed
with the likes of Jack McCray Jack Steele. Both had
twenty one or less disposals. I don't think they're showing
that leadership on the field, especially Jack still, he should
be getting a lot more. And Jack mccraye's known for
his ball magnet ability, So not happy with that one.
Looking at Geelong, the Cats, they look so calm at
the Cattery, especially Sean Manner. He had three goals, twenty
four disposals. He and Jessu were just so unselfish. I

(28:33):
feel like that's a thing of the cattery. He got
tomahawk back in the day he was on the commentary.
They used to just handle it over the top or
find the best option. You go, jess Are a few
times his line up, I'm going, why is he passing it?
You're going for the Coleman. He's still got five goals.
Of these you hardly saw him for the whole game
and he still had five goals. He's just unbelievable. He
does and he's an absolute lock for the Coleman.

Speaker 2 (28:50):
Now.

Speaker 1 (28:50):
I think we're trying to talk up banking on the socials.
The NRB is social post last week, but jess is
a lockdown and I really.

Speaker 2 (28:56):
Wanted Georgiades to make a run, but he's not.

Speaker 1 (28:58):
No, he's not going to make it any anymore either. Yeah,
I just wanted to touch on the second quarter. I
know this is a bit random, but we do a
goal of the Week segment. You can check that out
on AFL today AU Socials. The Goal of the Week
segment could just be the second quarter of this game.
You had Manor with a shot from the boundary that
bounced sideways, you had Mason were with an awesome goal,
Jezza just dodged a few players. So if you want
to watch highlights of any game, I'd be watching the

(29:19):
second quarter of this one because that was really good
fun and to finish off lads, the Cats, they're back
into the top four. It's just frustrating that there's opposition fans.
They always make the top four. Frustrating, but I'm used
to it.

Speaker 2 (29:29):
We're used to it. We used to it. Now lock
it in. Every year.

Speaker 1 (29:31):
Fifteen of the last nineteen seasons they've made the top
four and had the double chance. They just know how
to do it. They just credit to them like that's amazing.
But probably one of the best sporting azations in Australia.
Just when you look at like that in our lifetime,
in our life for sure, Geolong they got the job
done at their category and the Saints, like I said,
it was a fun game, but couldn't get the job
done there.

Speaker 2 (29:50):
He Leo quick question, do you know what the ASEX means?
Do you mean afl X?

Speaker 4 (29:55):
No?

Speaker 1 (29:55):
Mate, the ASEX, the Australian Stock Exchange.

Speaker 2 (29:58):
Oh man, I'm absolutely list for that stuff.

Speaker 4 (30:01):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (30:01):
Lucky for you.

Speaker 1 (30:02):
Stockhead is a free website that gives you everything you
need to know about punting stocks on the ax.

Speaker 2 (30:07):
Damn, that sounds pretty good. Where do I check them out?

Speaker 1 (30:09):
Check it out via stockare dot com dot you. And
it's even easy for your little pe brain to understand.

Speaker 2 (30:14):
Damn.

Speaker 4 (30:15):
Doun day at fun Day at the mcg ale.

Speaker 2 (30:17):
I love this one.

Speaker 1 (30:18):
Collingwood free Collingwood eleven goals twelve seventy eight. They lost
Dare at the mcg Freemantle twelve goals, seven seventy nine.

Speaker 2 (30:26):
Game other round. It was the game of the round.
How many times am I.

Speaker 4 (30:30):
Going to say this? I always get the.

Speaker 2 (30:31):
Game of around. It's some sort of voodoo that we got.

Speaker 4 (30:34):
Going on here.

Speaker 2 (30:35):
One of these days I'll get it.

Speaker 4 (30:36):
But Collingwood has been involved in quite a few of
them this season. But how good was that?

Speaker 2 (30:40):
It was?

Speaker 4 (30:40):
Just especially that final quarter, it would just end to
end like a final finals, like football players going hard
at the ball, you know, point of like points making
things interesting.

Speaker 2 (30:51):
Could have been a drawer.

Speaker 4 (30:52):
Yep, very much so at one stage and look like
look like it throughout the stages of the game. But
it had absolutely everything, including a little sprinkle of controversy
as well, which we will touch on later.

Speaker 2 (31:03):
But first, do we believe in the Purple Haze.

Speaker 3 (31:09):
It's Freeman or it's Flagman, or it's the way to Go.

Speaker 2 (31:12):
It's in the song the song wa way to Go?
Win the bloody flags on.

Speaker 3 (31:20):
They just beat we said on the Thursday show they
beat Collingwood at the G.

Speaker 2 (31:24):
Yeah, but I've done that this year long. Please be
so excited.

Speaker 4 (31:29):
The Collingwood had won twelve to last thirteen at the
G That's true, and they did end that record. But
how good was Srong in Nacos in that midfield? That
battle was unreal? Thirty seven disposals and a goal for Sarong,
forty three disposals and a goal for Nick Dakos. Surely
Dekos has secured the brownlay metal. We talked about Jess
security the colmn but surely now you'd think he'd beat

(31:49):
poll two. Maybe maybe, which.

Speaker 1 (31:53):
You'll see now, my best long grandmother, I think all
awards are locked up and sewed in. Now that's even
rising stars rising that LEVI on the Weekend was definitely
the best.

Speaker 2 (32:02):
Someone coming up in the later game. I like to
touch on it, but he wasn't as good. But yes,
good point.

Speaker 4 (32:06):
Interesting, But Freeman will did their best Collingwood impression. They
pulled out there and they came from twenty two points
behind in that final quarter to go on and win
the game by a single point. And it just shows
like they got the grit, They got the determination to
fight and win for these games, which is a great sign.
This is what we haven't seen from Freeman in previous seasons.

(32:27):
So now maybe the tide is turning a little bit
for Justin Lomure.

Speaker 2 (32:31):
But that Vosh had we.

Speaker 4 (32:35):
Got to shut the man for the He's built for
the big occasion. On the MCG. He's first ever game
with the G, he kicks six goals. A six goal
hall is that he averages six at the G.

Speaker 2 (32:45):
The hot football. I didn't know he had that in
him yet. I did not six.

Speaker 4 (32:52):
But this this meeting this time around was very opposite
to the meeting earlier in the season because Freeo this
time round had twenty three fewer inside fifties, but they
were more clinical with Collingwood. Collingwood we just going at
thirty six point five percent inside fifty juxtaposed I know
you love that, know.

Speaker 2 (33:12):
What I mean?

Speaker 4 (33:12):
Juxtapposed to their fifty two percent average Collingwood. So they
were just a little bit, a little bit off form.
And Liam, yes, it was one man in that midfield.
You wanted to see him in the midfield. How do
you go, Well, he got the job in there.

Speaker 1 (33:25):
He started in the midfield, josh acos he was awesome,
the best quarter in footy.

Speaker 2 (33:28):
We were talking last week.

Speaker 1 (33:29):
He started in the midfield, finished with twenty five disposals,
didn't have a huge impact. His brother was the main
contributor from Collingwood. I still want him to stay in
the midfield because I think he can have that real
impact to that twenty five disposals.

Speaker 2 (33:40):
I feel like you're the wrong. I'm wrong, I'm wrong.
You just keep him on the wing, isn't isn't all
Australian wingmen. He could play anywhere. He will look that all.

Speaker 4 (33:48):
Australian wing position down. Okay for many years, possibly this year,
for many years to come. I think, why not.

Speaker 2 (33:54):
We'll see.

Speaker 4 (33:55):
But they did lose the game Collingwood in the end,
but it wouldn't be too just appointed. They did still
bring the heat. It was an honorable loss, and they
loaded an incredible thirty five tackles inside fifty. The AFL
average is around ten free men only that's nine.

Speaker 2 (34:11):
That's crazy.

Speaker 4 (34:12):
Thirty five tackles inside fifty is great reading. So look, Collingwood,
don't get over the line. Freeman will get the job done.
This is more about Freeman or one hundred.

Speaker 1 (34:23):
Yeah, it was an awesome game, and lads, do we
think the AFL had a look at the descent rule
this weekend or mid round even because we had an
incident against Warner for Frero He pointed to the scoreboard.
Then Short's got fifty to the square, So what do
we think about that one? And some other soft calls
in the Gold Coast game as well. They shouldn't be
looking at rules mid round. I don't know if they did,
but it felt like they did.

Speaker 3 (34:43):
Even if they are, it's a ridiculous rule. I think
at the end of the day, the AFL is instructing
umpires incorrectly. Umpires are probably being told if you feel,
you're gonna pay them free.

Speaker 2 (34:56):
But I don't think umpires didn't care about that. Yeah,
he pointed to the screen. Is he allowed.

Speaker 4 (35:00):
Yeah, of course, come on before if the Freeman ended
up losing this game by got I know, it would
have been fuming.

Speaker 2 (35:05):
Yeah, they could have called that back back to that
for sure. All right.

Speaker 1 (35:07):
Adelaide Oval the last game. We thought this was going
to be the game of the round. It probably wasn't,
but it was still exciting. Adelaide sixteen goals, eleven one
hundred and seven, Gold Coast six goals ten forty six.

Speaker 2 (35:17):
What the hell, lads?

Speaker 1 (35:18):
What the hell he had Collingwood last week didn't kick
go on the first half. They taught the Signs what
to do. They didn't get a goal in the first half.

Speaker 4 (35:24):
It's like a disease.

Speaker 2 (35:25):
They passed it on. They passed Adelaide next next week
kicking maybe we can bet on that.

Speaker 1 (35:30):
But genuinely, it was such a contrast for the Suns
from last week. They beat the Pies, the league leading Pies,
and they didn't kick a goal on the first half.

Speaker 2 (35:38):
That was just very, very strange.

Speaker 1 (35:40):
The matchup that we wanted to look at was Mac
Andrew versus Phil Thorpe. Of course Mac verse Thriller. It
was very feisty. There was a lot of fights of
the whole game. The Crows were really getting into Mac Andrew.
He had a few little stuff ups, but I think
Thriller got the job done over him in the end.
He had two goals, and Sam Collins I think Leo
you brought up on the Wednesday show that if he
was going to be out, he was going to be
a huge and and I think he was. I know
that Thriller only got the two goals, but the Sons

(36:02):
they just looked undersized, a bit less structured.

Speaker 2 (36:04):
You've got Sam Collins down there's usually barking orders and things.

Speaker 1 (36:06):
Voice of reason, the voice of reason, he's a bit
of a scary man. He's just a presence down Kelly like,
isn't he very Neah?

Speaker 2 (36:13):
Because of his beard, it would have canceled out Phil
Forbe's impact.

Speaker 1 (36:15):
Oh, bet on bear, y on Bear, and he had
Mac Andrew. I think his temper got the better of
him a little bit. It cost a few goals, but
again that was the soft calls that we talked about
in the last game.

Speaker 2 (36:25):
That was one hell shouldn't be doing that.

Speaker 4 (36:27):
Yeah, his temper has costed cost opponents like goals in
games of season, So.

Speaker 1 (36:32):
Yeah, absolutely, we talked about Alex Neil Bullen on the
MIDWEK Show as well, and he responded to you.

Speaker 2 (36:37):
Specifically, Marcus.

Speaker 1 (36:38):
He saw he saw that you talked him down on
the Midwek Show and he goes, I'm just gonna have
the best game of my career.

Speaker 2 (36:43):
He did.

Speaker 4 (36:43):
Should just call out every player in the competition from
didn't play?

Speaker 2 (36:48):
Did it again? Did it for Zac Bailey? He turned
up the following week.

Speaker 4 (36:51):
We did it for the Carlton Boys and Crips. Still
we'll get there next week, wait for the Midweek show
those boys. But he was great. Yeah, he had thirty
one disposals and three goals. Look at the form leading
into this game. For about a month he was having
about ten to eleven, twelve disposals and a single goal.

Speaker 1 (37:10):
Crazy, absolutely crazy. So fair play to our amb and
Joshi Warrel. Leo just absolutely loves this man, Leo, do
you think he deserves a few more accolades this year
because he had another great game?

Speaker 3 (37:19):
Give the man and all Australian right now, he is
my back pocket, big call. I don't think there is
anyone better at the moment at stopping the opposition's most
dangerous forward or mid size forward and then also rebounding.
He had twenty five disposals today, eleven intercepts and that's
just that's a weekly occurrence for me. He averages twenty
touches this year. He's one of the most improved players

(37:41):
in the game. Defensively, so bloody strong, but he's no
slats when it comes to rebounding.

Speaker 2 (37:46):
Get him in the All Australian side. I definitely ground
that and I feel good Cools here on the show.
There has been a lot of.

Speaker 1 (37:52):
It leras have been lifting the big calls, so fair play.
Talking about defense, it went out the window. In the
third quarter was a very strange quarter. The Suns kicked
five goals five I think Adelais kicked three goals themselves,
and they threatened to come back.

Speaker 2 (38:03):
It's just a little threatening of a comeback.

Speaker 1 (38:05):
Bro watching I just thought that an over quite there
for about five minutes, you know, a little bit nervous,
But then the crow settled towards the end of the
courtard with the likes of our text setting up a
few goals and then they had a strong finish to
get the job done. Now, Dan Curtin, he's a guy
that I've been talking up a lot lately he had
twenty disposers and a goal.

Speaker 2 (38:21):
He does it again.

Speaker 1 (38:21):
The young guy definitely, I believe the second favorite for
the Rising Star Award now or do you think lads
he could push Levi Ashcroft for the world. I think
it's Levi's to lose, and he's because he was better.

Speaker 2 (38:31):
On the weekend. But Dan Kurtin twenty had a goal.
He's just improven every week. I think Curtains is the
man now.

Speaker 4 (38:37):
He's a little bit of recency boys. Yeah, I think
he's had a good gear. He's a fantastic end of
the season. But Levi, I think he's just been so
consistent throughout the throughout the season.

Speaker 2 (38:46):
Yeah, I'll give you that point.

Speaker 3 (38:48):
But I just think when Curtin can play multiple positions,
and he's shown he's had an impact at the back
half of the ground, front half and on a wing.

Speaker 2 (38:55):
Levi is mainly playing half forward mid.

Speaker 4 (38:57):
Where do you think Curtin's best position will be a career.

Speaker 2 (39:00):
I think he'll turn into a midfielder.

Speaker 1 (39:02):
Yeah, I agree, but I think he can have some
impact forward, obviously showing it with some goals lately, so
maybe a bit of.

Speaker 2 (39:07):
The next Jordan Dawson. Oh, that's a big Dawson's Uh,
there we go.

Speaker 1 (39:15):
And the last question, this is a big question that
I want to finish on. Is it happening again for
the Suns? Now we'll get to this time of year
and everyone goes that Sounds are going to make finals. Oh, Gary,
iub got injured. The Sons are going to make finals.
Are I know we've come again? There's something Oh no,
they didn't make finals. Everyone in the AFL, unless your
team's like fighting for finals, wants the Suns to make finals.
A big, great story. They make the finals for the
first time. Are they still going to make the finals?

Speaker 2 (39:36):
That they should? But are they a bit nervous around
this time of year? I think it's big nerves.

Speaker 4 (39:40):
They got lines next week, they having players falling out
of form at the wrong time. They did just bet Collingwood.
They did just be Collingwood. Yes, Like their midfield has
been fantastic this.

Speaker 2 (39:52):
Week as well.

Speaker 4 (39:52):
Forward line was a little bit like left.

Speaker 2 (39:57):
I can't go on like this, surely yeah. And the
Crows they're just absolutely flying. They're still in the.

Speaker 1 (40:03):
Top four, game off Minor, Premier, were Premier. We're only
there all a lot of stuff.

Speaker 2 (40:07):
There we go. What a little segue there the ladder checker.

Speaker 1 (40:10):
What they're third on the ladder? There actually a game
off the top is absolutely crazy. Crows fans will be
up and about. Actually, let us know on the comments.
I've been a lot of Crows fans in the comments lately,
so keep them coming. The Pies they're still first, but
now they're only half a game above Brizzy, So that's
a bit of an interesting one. There you got the Hawks, Jedibs,
some Freyer all jump, the Swans who are.

Speaker 2 (40:26):
Now eight, the Suns not the soldest one. Why did
I say so? Ones are there? Ones?

Speaker 1 (40:30):
Ones are in there as well. The Dogs are nice
to be a strong percentage but a game out. Leo
still thinks I think they're going to push up because
they're strong.

Speaker 2 (40:36):
Person exam a Hawthorne for that last spot in my opinion, yep.

Speaker 1 (40:38):
And then you got the Swan's ten two games and
a heap of percentage out. I don't think they're gonna
going to be able to make it, unfortunately for Swans.

Speaker 2 (40:44):
Fancy but you're telling me there's a chair. Of course,
there's a chance.

Speaker 1 (40:47):
And then yeah, as we said, Crows fans get up
and about tipping results. Now we all have the same tists.
We're a bit boring during the midweek. So we've all
got a solid.

Speaker 2 (40:54):
Six Devils number six six. It's been creepy, a.

Speaker 3 (40:58):
Little bit creepy touch called Collingwood, Melbourne and West Coast
let us down, say Richmond, but Richmond.

Speaker 2 (41:04):
Would never let me down.

Speaker 1 (41:05):
Yeah. Well he's talking about Richmond like he tipped him.
But you definitely did locker results. We don't have to
do locker results.

Speaker 2 (41:12):
Let's get through it. Let's get through say my one first,
because I didn't get it.

Speaker 1 (41:16):
Cadman out of you to get one goal Againstidon, How
did you I only get one goal against Esston.

Speaker 2 (41:21):
He's averaging like five goals lately.

Speaker 4 (41:22):
Come on, man.

Speaker 2 (41:23):
Yeah, he just saw that you put him as his
lock and he just didn't want to perform. They didn't
want to perform.

Speaker 1 (41:28):
Leo the Cats win, that's a good lock easy against
the Saints and then JWS win over the Bombers.

Speaker 2 (41:33):
That that was an easy I'm doing.

Speaker 3 (41:35):
Dogs win this week by the way, locking that one
in who they got there? We go.

Speaker 1 (41:39):
Yeah, we just talked about that. All right, big call results.
We'll start off with Leo and I because we've got
some big news after that.

Speaker 2 (41:46):
Leo, you're one that's so close.

Speaker 3 (41:48):
Tom Green thirty five touches and he got thirty so close,
so he.

Speaker 2 (41:53):
Actually was on track, wasn't he? He was for a little
he was on track.

Speaker 1 (41:55):
I had the wizard for fifteen and three goals. He
had thirteen and one. I came, I thought in the
weather as well. I was like, oh here we go.

Speaker 2 (42:04):
E didn't do that much.

Speaker 1 (42:05):
Unfortunately, I've talked him up a lot this year. He's
had a solid all Australian. Definitely not I wish I
wish he was. And we'll finish off with the big one.
Get the party poppers out, let him. Let's done.

Speaker 2 (42:17):
He's got a big Why did you get.

Speaker 4 (42:19):
Him off the mark? But just putting the crown on me?
I should do some more off the cuff, big cause,
and went off the cuff In the show, I said,
Liam McMahon, ry Tom for the Bombers to have two
plus goals and Tom Green a go Bannana's almost break
the clearance record, but I said fifteen plus, So fifteen
plus clearances for Tom Green. Lea McMahon two plus goals,

(42:40):
tick tick tick tick tick.

Speaker 2 (42:41):
That is awesome.

Speaker 4 (42:44):
I think the belief of big cause the fact that
he can get a big call.

Speaker 2 (42:47):
The belief for everyone else is back when you get
a big call, that's when the belief.

Speaker 4 (42:52):
Yeah, he just said good boy, which downgrades my excitement.

Speaker 2 (42:57):
Yeah, it is chill over there. Let's see if you
can do it.

Speaker 1 (43:00):
The next segment up, Best on Ground of the week, Leo,
this is your one anything.

Speaker 2 (43:03):
Controversially, I'm not good at chill.

Speaker 3 (43:05):
We're talking about the best players of the round here
im first vote yes, see so wrong thirty seven on
the goal and when the game was there to be one.

Speaker 2 (43:14):
He was the man to do it for Freo.

Speaker 3 (43:16):
Two votes p Pony Club or.

Speaker 2 (43:21):
Pat Vos Patny club kind of stuff.

Speaker 3 (43:22):
That Rancing Pony club mate really like Patrick Bloody Vos
ibby gives you some fisties and chesties after that same
really that six goals of the Prancing Pony and he
played Darcy Mortar perfection. He was coming out on the
lead to Darcy and more was like, I'm used to
getting the ball back here my opponent's lead.

Speaker 2 (43:40):
What I gotta cover that? What telling me I got
to defend? That's a bit Harshal is a great player.
Three votes.

Speaker 3 (43:47):
It's one man, it's the heen Man. I'm not even
gonna say he needs the heen Man. Man reminded everyone.

Speaker 2 (43:53):
Nimney, Himney, Isaac Kimmin. Don't mind that the Chimney reminded
everyone what he can do.

Speaker 3 (43:59):
Five goals, thirty four disposals, eleven what was the thirteen clearance.

Speaker 2 (44:03):
Is just ridiculously. I don't even know he's so big
that Leo has lost. That's last. But that now are
my votes of the weekend honorable mentions. I think Nasa
has to get an honorable he was he was literally
the whole team Nay because he probably the three Yeah fair.

Speaker 1 (44:17):
And a few of those guys got the win. So
you had two freer players in there.

Speaker 2 (44:19):
Yeah, they got the win. I want to preference players winning.

Speaker 1 (44:23):
Okay, talking about winning, there we go the best team
of the round. This one is our most controversial segment
of the show. That's why we saved the best.

Speaker 2 (44:30):
To all last. Mircus.

Speaker 4 (44:32):
They've done it again, boys, Richard, They've done it again.
One vote to the yah they get this time they
win the game to feature in these votes. Last time
they featured they didn't they even end up winning the game.
But they got it done. They got the job done,
and they did it in style because off the stadium
was a hard place to go and you expected for
a young side, expecting West Coast to you know, put

(44:54):
up a decent flight. And now for the two votes,
cool cool Adelaide chrome, they smoked, you get the two
votes smoking the sun.

Speaker 2 (45:04):
So it turned out that was a seventy to nothing at.

Speaker 4 (45:07):
One point, yes, Jesus, it was looking like the table
tennis table score out. So but and then the three
votes can't go to anyone else but the e Bombers.
No Freeman of.

Speaker 5 (45:22):
Course, Flag Mantle for you, Flag flag Mantle get the
votes beaten what looked to be possibly the minor premiers,
the premiership favorite at the Colosseum of Football, the mcg
proved a lot of doubt is wrong.

Speaker 1 (45:36):
Ye, that is the first time I reckon that we've
all agreed on your best team around.

Speaker 2 (45:40):
So fair play to here. Well done to you there.
