Speaker 1 (00:00):
AFL Today's Around twenty preview. Is here huge rivalry round ahead? Lads?
What are we talking about? Look?
Speaker 2 (00:05):
I might be a Hawks fan, but I really hope
Sam Doherty plays well on Thursday Night.
Speaker 3 (00:09):
And speaking of rivalry around, let us know in the comments,
what is the biggest rivalry in the game?
Speaker 1 (00:15):
Is me and Leo? Is it the Showdown? Is it
the Derby? Who knows the Derby? Check out AFL Today
right now. Welcome back to the AFL Today Show, brought
to buy Stocket here for all things Round twenty. I'm
your host, Lea mckellyan, also known as the Stats Guy.
Got to get to the guys on the couch, Leo Malalley,
Marcus barz I. How are we, lads?
Speaker 2 (00:34):
Going good?
Speaker 1 (00:34):
Actually? I feel extra Italian today.
Speaker 2 (00:36):
I've got the Futin Skut, a fellow Italian who's always
next to me.
Speaker 3 (00:41):
But I'm not sure about this Hawthorn scuff next to
me Hawthorne seeing which I feel awkward with claustrophobic. I'm
look sitting next to two plus sized people in an aeroplane,
that is Why did.
Speaker 1 (00:50):
You say plus? Yeah, that's a bit harsh. I'll just
get into the show Lad's another awesome show as we
dove into the matchups, tips, stats, debates, locks and big
calls as well as everything in between. Subscribe to our
YouTube channel. We want to hit the notifications bell as
well on the follow AFL Today across x Facebook, Instagram
and TikTok on Facebook. Of course it is Ozzie Rules Today.
We've got the chuckle heads over here. You guys will
(01:11):
go for the show. Yeah, we're ready, Can we get right?
Footy's back, Footy years back around twenty previews Thursday Night,
Footy is Hawthorne versus Carlton seven thirty at the mcg Marcus.
Speaker 3 (01:21):
There's nothing awkward about this one. There's a lot of
mini storylines around this game as well, but the big
one is Sam Doherty the announcement of he's retiring with
his final AFL game, one hundred and eightieth game. So
that was across two clubs, thirteen for the Lions and
the rest.
Speaker 1 (01:37):
For the Blues.
Speaker 3 (01:38):
We'll read out a couple accolades because he's been a
star player, he's been a legend.
Speaker 1 (01:42):
One Carlton BNF.
Speaker 3 (01:43):
I believe it was twenty sixteen, All Australian twenty seventeen
Carlton co captain for a few years, Jim Stein's Community Award,
Leadership Award winner yep, and came back from particular cancer
twice as well. And he's just a player that you
can't hate. You know, those players in the.
Speaker 1 (01:58):
Competition with you hate him. He's a legend. Yeah, you
can't hate.
Speaker 3 (02:02):
So hopefully he goes well on the weekend, then maybe
that might lead into a big goal or to from
one of you. Two boys around the couch, stick around for.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
That, that's me. Maybe you put in your favorite seam
Docherty moment in the comments below. There's been a few
good ones. Yeah, I'll give you that.
Speaker 3 (02:17):
There has been a few good ones. But we'll get
into the match preview. It's a confidence boosting win for
the Blues last time out against the Demons. Plus now
it's a game of emotion. They want to send Dougherty
off the right way. The Carlton teammates and the Carlton faithful.
Could this equal a possible upset?
Speaker 1 (02:34):
I don't think there's any chance they win this one.
Speaker 2 (02:37):
They could lift for the occasion Thursday night under the lights.
Yeah like yeah, clubs Stoll's retiring and legend of legend
of your club's retiring, you've got to lift for that.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
Yeah, all those Thursday games that they've lifted for this season.
Speaker 3 (02:51):
A little bit of off field pressure as well, surrounding
Charlie Kerno, who has been rumored to go to a
few different clubs including Gold Curst Sydney Angelong.
Speaker 1 (02:59):
Teammates are about that throwing hawthorn why not?
Speaker 3 (03:02):
No, no, everyone anyways, But you've got to look towards
the likes of the inexperience that stepped up against the Demons,
like Ashton Moyer, Matt Carroll. Obviously he had ten inset
possessions from eleven disposals last week against the Demons. Could
he possibly go to the informed Dylan Moore who finished
with thirty one to two goals last week.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
Yeah, I don't mind that. I think what more would
have over Carroll is his work rate to get up
the ground and then beat him back to goal. I
think it is a matchup that Carton should consider. But
I kind of like Carol maybe playing a bit deeper,
being able to get those inter set possessions a little
bit deeper rather than up the ground and you work
yourself to the ground trying to cover someone like Dylan Moore.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
But we'll see how it plays out.
Speaker 3 (03:46):
How it goes, and it will be interesting to see
who goes to this man who returns for the Hawks.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
Yep, will date the prodigal suddenly. I'm unsure.
Speaker 3 (03:55):
Look, it's great to say a bad way, but I'm
unsure whether you bring him back into this game after
such a well they already did. I don't know they have,
but Sul would have saved him. Adlete game is coming up. Yeah,
I agree with you on that one. Adelaide's much bigger game.
You cann't beat Carlton, I think either way, and will.
Speaker 1 (04:13):
You need it? Just preserve him for the finals. He's
such a star and you desperately need him. What you're
a Hawks man there.
Speaker 2 (04:17):
If he's fit, you're playing every game you gotta win.
They can't take any game lightly. He's your best, one
of your best players.
Speaker 3 (04:23):
Fair enough, and we'll talk about some more squad decisions
or stuff that needs to be made for the Hawthorn.
And it's about the tour forwards because obviously you've got
Kelsha Mitch Lewis coming off that five day break against
in tough conditions against put Adelaide and obviously they've had
the injury concerned in the past. Do you keep them
in the side? Do you what do you do with
(04:46):
those tool folds.
Speaker 1 (04:47):
I'm gonna be honest, I got no clue.
Speaker 2 (04:48):
I absolutely have no idea, and I know where well,
like Charles a test to come back. So if Chole
isn't playing, then you keep the same three. But if
Chile does come back, does guns and get arrest off
a five day break with his with his old body too.
But at the same time, Gunsten plays so well and
Weidering in recent meetings where you can kind of keep
Weirdering quiet and then have an impact himself. Good luck,
(05:10):
Sam Mitchell. And I know you've thrown at me to
give the answer.
Speaker 1 (05:13):
I don't have that as a van what your personal preference?
Speaker 2 (05:17):
I don't know, you know, I've thought about it around.
I've literally thought about this like most of the week,
being like, oh, we could do this, you could do that,
could do this, could Brian Reeves, No, No, I don't
think that for a second. But it's I genuinely don't know.
Speaker 3 (05:32):
Well, considering the Blues play a very contested style of game,
it'd be very body on body. Yeah, could see that
might be a bit rough for some of those sort
of injury prone players after such a taxing game against.
Speaker 1 (05:44):
Paul In Utahs.
Speaker 3 (05:45):
Definitely, but it's kind of who gets the game on
their terms in this one. Is that the Blues with
their contested game style or will it be the Hawks
with their their flare and their fitness sort of game.
Speaker 1 (05:55):
I think the Hawks can show that they can get
the ball inside and out, whereas Carlton are very insight
and the kicking we've talked about has just been atrocious,
like passing and things like that, whereas so the Hawks
a bit cleaner. I think they can dominate this one.
I'm gonna tip them. I'm definitely gonna tip the Hawks.
I'm gonna go by thirty points. Let us know in
the comments who you think the Hawks should bring in
or if they should make any changes because Lere is
a bit torn, so maybe just help him out. I
(06:17):
feel like Natalie and brilliant what torn? Oh that's that
is aneer. Make sure you get I know.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
The votes have closed to the triple Jay Hoottess one
on Yes Hawks by seventeen. Both teams have a five
day break, as you mentioned, Marcus, but Hawthorne in those
really tough conditions, I think it will stay close.
Speaker 3 (06:33):
Okay, yeah, I agree on going to be a simlar
margin twenty. You guys are going pretty close there. That's interesting.
Speaker 1 (06:38):
All right, Let's get into Friday essident at versus the
Western Bulldogs at Marvel Stadium Friday night at seven twenty. Now, Leah,
this is another interesting one day. We're gonna break it down.
Speaker 2 (06:48):
Interesting is a word. I don't know if we'd use
it to describe this one. Look, the Dogs have won
each of their last twelve away matches at Marvel. That's
an interesting snap for you, and ten of the last
twelve against the Bomber. So to put it simply, they
have the form. Yes, Plus they'll be buoyed by the
fact that they're glorious king, they're handsome leader. Marcus Bontan
(07:09):
pally Re signed until twenty twenty nine. We actually checked
out his cafe in Q. Arthur's milk bar was INQ,
wasn't it, Nick? You or fark?
Speaker 1 (07:20):
We weren't too short. Let us know the comments about one.
Speaker 2 (07:23):
But yeah, Marcus and Statsko, you had a bit of
a vibe check, which will show on the screen.
Speaker 1 (07:27):
Now, fond three signs so we've come to his cafe,
Arthur's milk bar all things. But here we go.
Speaker 3 (07:32):
Love to enjoy the experience, So check out our side
quest from the socials.
Speaker 2 (07:36):
So yeah, if you want the full video of that,
that's out on our socials now at AFL today AU. Now,
last time these sides played the Dogs, they were ninety
one point winners, sixteen plus in contested possession, eight plus inclearance,
all at eighty percent disposal efficiency. The bombers were embarrassed
and a part of that Dog's demolition Bailey Dale forty nine,
(08:00):
he was so close they're raising.
Speaker 1 (08:02):
The bat little bit awesome.
Speaker 2 (08:03):
Can you get the half century this time around?
Speaker 1 (08:05):
I'm sure if Brad Scott actually put some body effort
into him, absolutely not. We don't tag well so he
can get the half century he.
Speaker 3 (08:12):
Could get, But we're not going to doubt will put
might put a tiny bit of attention to him, but
I don't think we're going to, you know, put someone
on he's.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
Last like fifteen touches as well. They would just handle
on it to him all one two and stuff. It
wasn't that find anything like there's a lot more damaging
players at the Dogs than Bailey.
Speaker 2 (08:31):
Du and now the last bit on the Dogs that
I will get to the Bombers, but I just want
to touch on their back line because I've talked about
them the last couple of weeks. So against North concede
five to Laki. Against the chrom can seed eleven of
sixteen goals to their key forwards, then they bring in
Liam Jones, which they had to do, and then it
goes the other way. They can see eleven of twelve
(08:52):
goals to Brisbane for the small forwards. So the mix
still isn't quite there, and I think for the Bombers
they get Caddy back, which is great, but I really
want their smalls to get involved here one hundred percent.
Speaker 3 (09:03):
In recent weeks I put the reverse mores alex Neil
Bullen and he went and had a cracking game. Zach
Bailey similarly, and Patty Cripps. Someone that I do want
to touch on in that Adelaide midfield depth who hasn't
been so crash hot in the past month has been
Alex Neil Bullan. But another one who historically struggles against
Collingwood and needs to lift is the skipper patch of Crips.
(09:26):
You look at, you look at people to stand up
in that Carlton team. When people aren't standing up, it's
your captain, it's your Duel Brownlow medalist, it's your leader.
So we just need him to bring back another the
blues of back Baby. I've not sold on Zach Bailey
since his debut. With every season he's played one hundred
and fifty three games. Boys, there's a lot of games
of footy. I don't think he played one hundred and
(09:47):
fifty three. So this week I'm targeting my bombers, my
beloved bombers, the small to mid size forwards to put
some pressure. I see little some of the taller forwards
like Archie may Lee McMahon busting your gut. Even though
Caddie busting you got to put some pressure on. Now
it's time for the likes of Cacko, Gresham, even Perkins. Okay,
(10:08):
just run like headless chalks. I don't care what you
don't care if you touch the ball. Just put some
pressure on.
Speaker 1 (10:14):
Don't get mind that yet. There we go. I reckon,
that's does a lock. He's done it. He's the oracle.
He knows what he's talking about, So get around him.
Tips and margin lads, Leo Dogs by eighty one by
a lot? What's a lot? Eight thous He's ad a
thousand last week was like fifty. I'm going to go
Dogs by seventy. This is going to be a huge one.
(10:34):
There's another Friday night game, lads. I don't know again,
we don't like the double Friday nights, but we're going
to get into it anyway. GWS versus Sydney. We've got
another Sydney Derby Battle of the Bridge they called over
there Friday night, seven fifty at Enngi Stadium. Now, lads,
I'm pumped to watch two of the most informed players
in the competition. We talked him up on the weekend.
He got best on ground of the week. Handling definitely
not Isaac Kenny versus Tom Green in the last month
(10:58):
he needs averaging twenty six to spo was in a
lazy three goals. You've got Tom Green averaging thirty disposals
and twelve clearances in that time. What do you think, lads?
Do they tag Tom Green and Bedford possibly goes to Heeney.
There's a lot of tactical things they're going to go
into this game.
Speaker 2 (11:13):
I feel like this game is taking me back to
primary school here because there's going to be a game
of tag one center. I think Bedford does have to
go to Heene in this one, and I do think
that they send maybe Jordan to Tom Green.
Speaker 1 (11:28):
I think, yeah, I think you have to.
Speaker 3 (11:29):
Like Tom Green will get thirty disposals and around about
twenty of them will be contested and half of those
will be clearances.
Speaker 1 (11:36):
Yeah, he just does it all. He does it all.
And I saw a video of him talking on the
ground and he was unbelievable. Great lead future Captain Knecorns
called him and I actually didn't mind that. Talking about
clamps and tagging got Dan. Rampy has brought the clamps
to Toby Green the last three meetings. In those meetings,
Toby averages forty in disposals, zero goals. It's very rare
for Toby not to have a big impact on the game,
and Rampy stepped up his game in the Battle of
(11:57):
the Bridges, same as Whitfield. Do we think Campbell will
go to him? And then another question, a bigger question,
does Cox or Kingsley win the tactical battle here because
we've really talked up the tactics.
Speaker 3 (12:07):
Yeah, I think the most likely tag that will happen.
Is Braden Cambill gone to lockie with Field because once
you stifle his impact off half back, you feel like,
perhaps like Lukie Ash's a great player, but is he
is damaging as Whitfield with ball in hand. That's a debate, yep.
But in terms of the tactical battle, what kind of
fancy teen Cox He's shown it. He's shown it previously
(12:30):
when Sidney Flatigan's Freemantle and they work the tag to
perfection on both Jordan Clark and Caleb Sarong. So why
not they know they know the tagging game? Well the
Sidneys ones, Yeah, they.
Speaker 1 (12:40):
Do it and I tend to agree.
Speaker 2 (12:42):
But I'm going to side with Adam Kingsley because I'm
just scared his big.
Speaker 1 (12:45):
Arms are going to come find me and bash me.
That is a very good call. I think he lifts
the most of the Giants. He's not even a player,
He's a beast. Sydney won the last five meetings. Leo
asked this on Sunday, but can they keep winning? Can
they make the finals? There is there any hope at all?
That's for the Swans fans out.
Speaker 2 (12:59):
There is what zero point one one one zero zero
so you say there's a chance, I'm saying there's a
chance the tiny I think when we get into the tips,
I don't I think it'll end here.
Speaker 1 (13:10):
Yeah, fair enough. If not, are they the best team
to shake up the top eight and the top four.
So just say they can get a win here, they
might be able to get a win against Brisbane or
Geelong in the future because they've got their players back.
They're starting to play pretty well. So they the sort
of team that's gonna rustle a few feathers are heading
into the finals. Russell ruffle, ruffle, russell feathers.
Speaker 2 (13:28):
Yeah, definitely. They've got some matchups as you mentioned, against
Geelong and Brisbane that they can really shape, not just
the top eight, but the top four as well, and
some home finals that play they got.
Speaker 3 (13:36):
They've got players in that team that will also lock
to spoil the party on a few of the other clubs.
Speaker 1 (13:41):
Absolutely, I've got Jesse Hogan and Sam Taylor both test
for GWS. They will be really hoping they can come
back in this one. We haven't got the teams just yet,
but they'll be really hoping they come back if they
win here as well. The Giants, they're pretty much locked
in the finals, so that helps out your argument. They've
had a really good last couple of months as well,
the last five wins, five straight matches. They've got five
including the Lines, the Cats and the Sons. And you've
(14:03):
talked to Mat Marcus and saying that I think people
are underrating him a little bit.
Speaker 3 (14:06):
Oh, you're now starting to see iled this out a
month and a half ago.
Speaker 1 (14:11):
I'm look, this is there peaking at the right time.
Speaker 3 (14:13):
Now they're getting in the form and I think you
might see why on Saturday.
Speaker 1 (14:18):
There you go. I'm still yet to be Friday Night. Sorry,
that's right, Friday Night tips and margin. And then I
want a Brett Kirk medal winner. You don't do Brett
Kirk speech from the channel seven days.
Speaker 2 (14:27):
After Now I really want to. I'm going Giants by
a singular kick. I think you a kick and I
will go Cadman for the medal.
Speaker 3 (14:37):
Cadmen into a sounds back game winning goal. Maybe when
you're a g WS by five goals. Finn Callahan, who
will escape the tag, well he's not going to get tagged,
but he's one of the players that won't and perhaps
more influence on the game than he normally does, even
though everybody has an incredible amount. So Finn Callahan wins
the Brett Kirk Medal, I like that.
Speaker 1 (14:56):
I'm going to go Giants by ten. I'm not one
hundredercent sure if Tom Green will get tagged on, but
he's just a beast and I reckon he could break
a tag. He's had sixteen clearances against the Bombers, which
obviously the Bombers are down Laura on the ladder, but
he did it against the Suns as well, who have
one of the best midfield. So I'm going to go
Tom Green for the Brett Kirk Metal. Saturday. Gold Coast
Brisbane is the next one, Saturday one twenty at People's
First Stadium later the Q Clash. The Q Clash and
(15:18):
Brisbane dominated this Class one twenty one of the twenty
eight meetings they've played. I want to start on the
Suns though they need to respond to you. They need
a win because it was so good beating Collingwood.
Speaker 2 (15:30):
It was their best win in the club's history. And
then they probably go to one of the worst losses
in the club's history, not the deliverying one true losing
to Adelaide last week where Dimmer said that that was
the sort of game where you get kicked in the nuts.
Speaker 1 (15:46):
Yes, sure he has away with words.
Speaker 2 (15:49):
He's really a special unit.
Speaker 1 (15:50):
Check out his Twitter likes.
Speaker 2 (15:53):
Now, look the Suns. They've actually they actually won the
clearances and inside fifties in that matchup last week, which
I've found really really surprising. But they still get pumped.
Plus Reali's out for four to six, so they just
lose the extra bit of drive of half back. But
Collins is a test to come back now. He's so
important to them structurally.
Speaker 1 (16:13):
I feel like he's been like that for three weeks
a test. I think I have said that a few
times and he's been a Test.
Speaker 2 (16:19):
He's been a Test, but hopefully this time he's Actually.
Speaker 1 (16:23):
They're in a Geelong Gold Coast yeah, a.
Speaker 2 (16:25):
Little bit, little bit, so we know that the Mids
do the job gold Coast. We know round and we
know what they deliver. But I just want to chat
a bit about the consistency at either end of the ground.
So I had to look back at the nine times
they played a Top nine side this season. They've scored
over seventy four of those times, which I think is okay,
that's that's it's middle of the road. Yeah, but in
(16:49):
those four they lost to GWS and the opponents scored
at least ninety So I'm looking at it going it's
either their defense that's playing really well in the four words,
aren't or vice versa.
Speaker 1 (17:01):
I think it's to do with their tactics as well.
When they play against the big teams, like against Adelaide
the first time. I think against Gelong a few other teams,
they just go all out attack. So I don't know
if maybe against the bigger teams they need to dumb
it down a little bit and just like just play
a little bit slower. But I don't know. They seem
to go all out attacked against the big teams, and yeah,
maybe that's not the right way to go.
Speaker 2 (17:18):
Let's to actually go on the contrary of that point. Okay,
in three of those nine games they've failed to score
fifty points.
Speaker 1 (17:25):
There you go. That helps.
Speaker 2 (17:26):
So either end of the ground, I'm just going to
ask you boys, do you think Dold Coast have enough
depth to sustain these sort of big wins against these
best sides.
Speaker 3 (17:36):
I think they are. You're shown with Collins out that
they are probably a key to a good key defender short.
Speaker 1 (17:42):
Ballard being injured for the c Yeah, exactly, he hasn't
played a game.
Speaker 3 (17:45):
You say everyone's fully fit, I think why not. They've
well either end of the ground. I think they do
have enough when everyone's fully fit. But obviously it's footy,
and yeah, an injury is going to happen. But I
think it's just a case of a lot of the
forward line. Look at Ben King, look at Ben Long
as well, in particular falling out a form at the
wrong time of the season.
Speaker 2 (18:04):
Yeah, and with those two guys, they're the main guys
for them. And outside of that, Walter and Reed are
going to be great players. But they're young. They're going
to have their games off and that's allow that for them.
Speaker 1 (18:14):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (18:14):
So I think I questioned their forward line depth more
than their their defensive depth.
Speaker 1 (18:20):
In oh, I just get Charlie Kurner. Just get Charlie
Curner over there. Why not Charlie Kerner for Jed Walter.
I agree with that though in terms of the forward line,
because when Ben King isn't having a big game, they
struggle to kick goals. I am Ben Long, but outside
of that, yeah, you can't trust them. Just yet maybe
in a few years they'll be right. Yeah, I'm a
bit worried about their death for sure.
Speaker 2 (18:38):
And then on Brisbane, they're in great form, they've won
their last four games, and I want to chat about
sort of an underrated cog of their midfield, and that's
Josh Dunkley. So absolutely in those three of those last
four he's reached at least twenty eight touches and ten tackles,
so he's been super important defensively and he allows those
you know, mcclugge, each Neil or the Ashcroft's reign of
(19:01):
these guys to play a bit more aggressively and a
bit more freedom, right, So I think he's been really
really important to them. But I want to challenge Brisbane.
I know they're sitting second. I know they're sitting pretty.
They're probably going to make a prelium and potentially a
Grand Final.
Speaker 1 (19:16):
But be more ruthless.
Speaker 2 (19:17):
What is this three to seven crap against the Dogs
in the third quarter? Goals seven, kick seven, goals three.
And it's not just that game. We've seen games where
they've been ruthless, but then we see games that they're not.
And if that inconsistency stays up. I just think they
might that might be their achilles heel in finals.
Speaker 1 (19:36):
What do you boys think? I think it could be.
Speaker 3 (19:39):
Yeah, we looked at sides then playing to the oppositions
level sort of a little bit at the moment. Like obviously,
they've had the hardest end to the fixture of the
season according to the the Foxburdy, and they've won four
on the trot. So I think as long as they're winning,
they're not winning well at the moment, but they've still
got time to figure that out. And obviously they're playing
(19:59):
a lot of those big teams towards the end of
the season where they can really show their ruthlessness.
Speaker 1 (20:05):
They did this a lot last year as well, and
then when it came to finals they sort of kicked
into gear a bit more and then and then flex
their muscles. So I reckon they'll be They'll be fine.
They'll be fine. Fair who you tipping? I gotta go Lions.
I'm going to go lines by Okay, I'll say two goals,
and then we want to will Ashcroff medal as well.
I'm going to go camera a medal. Maybe when his
(20:26):
dad's medal, Marcus Ashkoff medal of course. Now I'm going
to go Cam Rayner. I think he's been an underrated form.
He can kick a couple of goals, get twenty five touches.
He's a beast. Dunkley, why not?
Speaker 2 (20:34):
Duncle talks him up? Back him in.
Speaker 1 (20:36):
You want to medal the other week as well?
Speaker 3 (20:38):
Then I'm going to the lines by a couple of
goals and you know what, it's going to be Daddy's favorite. Well,
it almost feels illegal not to give the Ashcroft Medal
to an ash So I'm gone, will leave all.
Speaker 1 (20:48):
I'm gone, will will Yeah, he was great last week
as well? Do it? Will? He do it? All right?
The dad jokes already out a LEO quick question? Do
you know what the AX means?
Speaker 2 (20:58):
Do you mean a fl A?
Speaker 1 (21:00):
No mate? The ASEX, the Australian Stock Exchange. Oh man,
I'm absolutely clueless with that stuff. Well, lucky for you.
Stock it it is a free website that gives you
everything you need to know about punting stocks on the AX.
Speaker 2 (21:12):
Damn, that sounds pretty good. Where do I check them out?
Speaker 1 (21:14):
Check it out via stockare dot com, dot you and
it's even easy for your little p brain to understand.
Damn Freeman or West Coast is the next one Saturday
four fifteen at OPTAs Stadium. Lads, is it a Western
Derby or a Derby? They call it Derby, but we
call it Derby. I think Derby Derby. They say Derby.
So maybe I'll be responcible to that palma palma. Yes,
I don't know what. I don't know what. Let us
(21:36):
know in the comments. If you're from wa and what
you call it? What you call a parma palm? You?
Why not? Three o one four of the last five
Derby's by an average of fifty points. They've been dominant
in this one. The Doctors, though we didn't really touch
on this on the weekend, had an awesome win over
the Pies. But they're six and two against top eight side, Lads,
the Dogs, they've got the best record against top eight sides.
The dog are looking up there. How do you do it? For?
(21:56):
How do you do it? Because they're the opposite obviously,
and they've also won eight of their last nine games,
but a respectable loss to this one is at the
SEG so they're in incredible form. I feel like we
haven't haven't talked them up, and I know we talked
them up on Sunday. But that's that's un.
Speaker 2 (22:08):
Believe we haven't. We talked up their game, but we
didn't talk.
Speaker 1 (22:11):
Up their form. Their form is unbelievable. Purple haze, it's
a drug. It is, it is, it's absolutely all since
wafted over this studio, it has Maybe we don't know, Marcus,
I think on the couch, lad I want to talk
about this. We've mentioned this every couple of weeks, but
the Two Rocks it really worked against the Pies. We've
been critical should Sean Darcy be in the side because
he was out of form, but it's really helped Luke
(22:33):
Jackson kick a couple of goals go forward as well,
So it really worked against the Pies. They're coming up
against West Coast, who are the bottom two in hitouts,
in clearances, bottom four for contested marks. Darcy and Jackson.
Do we think they're just going to go absolutely hate?
Speaker 2 (22:46):
Why what if it goes the other way and West
Coast beat him a ground and then they're too slow?
Speaker 1 (22:50):
Yeah, but then you know who's at the ground. It's
a wrong and brashot. Yeah, So I don't know. You've
got an argument.
Speaker 3 (22:56):
It's like when you get too professional footballers to play
against the kids, and Darcy and Jackson are just going
to be taking contested mark contested mark.
Speaker 1 (23:04):
You've just called Matt Flinn a kid. Madlin's pretty big.
He is pretty big in terms of the contested mark stats.
That status just right out. Yes, it's a bit of
a worry for West Coast. What is in a worry?
He's playing with a bit of freedom. Maybe he's about
to sign a new contract. There's rumors of Harley Reid
signing a new contract that especially after getting smashed by Richmond.
The one thing that Eagles fans want to hear is
(23:25):
the pen to paper from Harley Reid. He continues to
lift for the Eagles. He's averaging twenty six disposals, six tackle,
six clearances and a goal across the last month. He's
been absolutely awesome. It cops a lot of flak Harley Reid,
but he is building to a great player.
Speaker 2 (23:36):
I'd play with a lot of freedom too, if I
was about to get twenty million dollars or whatever it was.
Speaker 1 (23:41):
Was it that much? It a lot of Oh my god,
does he probably deserves to be one of the highest
page in the future right Not yeah, obviously, But like
for the future. Well, we'll see, we'll see, we'll see.
Speaker 2 (23:52):
The time will tell.
Speaker 1 (23:53):
Yeah. Absolutely. In terms of the percentage, I wanted touch
on that Freeos percentage went down last game, even though
they won by a point.
Speaker 2 (24:00):
My brain can't comprehend how that works. But that's a
I've got to even and out at one hundred, right, Yes.
Speaker 1 (24:05):
That's right, Yeah, I see. I don't even know how
that stuff works, even after a wind they Yeah, they
went down, and they've also got the worst percentage in
the top nine. So is this that game they can
build that percentage and then yeah, make a better case
for finals.
Speaker 2 (24:16):
Yeah, I think they got it. This has to be
a one that they just smoke them, because that if
they get that percentage to the mid one hundred and tens,
then yeah, teams like Hawthorne and GWS will start to
get a little bit shaky if they're not already.
Speaker 1 (24:28):
A little bit ware. Yeah, very nice. All right, let's
get into the tips and the metal. We've got the
Glenn Denning Allen Medal. Calyb's wrong actually has the equal
most medals with Paul Hazleby, which surprised me. With four.
Do we think is anyone gonna tip him, and why
I think he's gonna break it. He's gonna get five best.
Speaker 3 (24:45):
Ons in the Western Derby Derby and I'm gonna tip
free Mental for a big win. Here get that percentage
Brewster sixty seven points, sixty geez.
Speaker 2 (24:54):
Leo Frio the way to go forty three points and
I want it so wrong, but you're talking, so I'm
going to.
Speaker 1 (24:59):
Say break sure. Oh look that's a pretty handy. Does
he wear his brother's homewood again? I think he will
because he's still recovering. Isn't he Maynard playing gas Plane?
He's not going to punch him on the phone too
soon ago. I'm going to go three by fifty points.
I think this will be a smashing and I'm going
to go Jordan Clark for the medal because I don't know.
That's a bit of a rogue shout, but I think
(25:21):
West Coast poor on the counter at tax. He can
use his speed and they just bombed a lot of
time inside fifty and takes him into set marks and
get a really really good stat line there. Next one
Saturday Night or talking about big percentage Bruce's North Melbourne
versus Along Saturday Night seven thirty at Marvel Stadium. Markets.
Speaker 3 (25:37):
Yeah, well we've called on you had the debate with
Richmond and North Melbourne. Who's in the better spot of
the rebuild, which is why I'm sort of swirarring that
we need.
Speaker 1 (25:45):
To see something a little bit more from North.
Speaker 3 (25:47):
Obviously they had that good month in June and obviously
they well they lost to Hawthorne right in the final
days of June. But now it's become a bit of
a draw July. As you said, yeah, it has been
a drivel not much to cheer, hairless video and well
I feel like he's been drinking more while watching North Melbourne,
whereas there they didn't need to know. But since round
(26:08):
two their highest score is eight and one. They felt
to score one hundred since round two and they've averaged
one hundred points conceded per game so far this season
North Melbourne. So there's that debate. Are they really getting better?
But perhaps it's a little bit of structure In recent
weeks it has gone a miss. But George wardlaw sorry
and al mack Luke McDonald possibly set to return the
(26:31):
both of them, how does that change North Melbourne structure? Yeah,
I don't know if it changes the structure too much.
I think in terms of the pressure, war though will
lift the pressure.
Speaker 1 (26:39):
He's just a maniact like he could have twelve touches
and get more tackles than touches. Sometimes He's had five
games this season of six plus tackles. I can't remember
the last time that someone in the last month has
had laid six plus tackles in our team. Just a
lot of I think Leo talked about it a few
weeks ago. Just a lot of missed tackles from North.
So in terms of the structure, I'm not too much.
Maybe in the Senate bounces it'll be a bit better
because he can add the tackling pressure. But yeah, the structure,
(27:00):
it's Geelong. They're going to be too good.
Speaker 3 (27:01):
Well, history doesn't suggest that anything will change. Will still
be picking on that kid in the playground, and that
kid is North Melbourne. Because Geelong have won the last
thirteen meetings thirteen with an average winning margin of forty
four and a half points from thirteen meetings, and to
make things even worse, the last five meetings have had
an average losing margin of sixty nine point eight points,
(27:23):
which is even greater.
Speaker 1 (27:25):
Oh my god, and.
Speaker 3 (27:26):
Look, even I'm wincing, I don't even go for Geelong
on track for a big, big win here, I.
Speaker 1 (27:33):
Think, I think definitely. I just think.
Speaker 3 (27:39):
I'm just saying there is a saving grace for North
Melbourn that is Marvel Stadium. Some of those wins have been.
Speaker 1 (27:48):
At Marble Stadium.
Speaker 3 (27:49):
But Geelong they've only played at Marble Stadium once so
far the season, which is kind of like hard to
believe that they're really played there once and that one
game was a lost against Saint Kilda.
Speaker 2 (28:00):
I say, all the home so are they not as
confident at Marbles?
Speaker 1 (28:03):
So something going even as an offan, I think it's
going to be closer obviously at Marvel than the Category
or the G or whatever else we would play. But
the Boat, the Cat's bogey team at Marvel is the Saints. Yeah,
so I would be throwing that they've won the last
three there I think against them, So yeah, this is
gonna be a tough one the Cats. I was just
gonna say the damning numbers that they've.
Speaker 2 (28:21):
Won thirteen in a row like record, lose to Williamstown Marvel,
North Melbourne and then that's what you're trying to say.
Speaker 3 (28:30):
But I do think the Cats will dominate. And if
they are to dominate and kick a massive score, then
you'd think Jezza, the common medalists, should play a big
part in that. And he could he crack the ton
I'm saying, including fauna, including faunas.
Speaker 1 (28:46):
What is he at now?
Speaker 2 (28:47):
Eight? So five games left and then let's say they
play every final, so they lose that they get so
that's nine games.
Speaker 1 (28:56):
So he needs forty two goals in nine games if
he keeps playing against here, playing against Essendon. I think
they played against West Coast.
Speaker 2 (29:04):
I want him to do it. You know, imagine they
run under the ground, it kicks the winner on Grand
Final day, they run under the ground because it's his
hundredth goal.
Speaker 1 (29:10):
I don't think a hundred goals including finals, is worthy
of a run on the ground. I just want the
Grand Final.
Speaker 3 (29:18):
If you if you kick a goal, if you kick
a winning goal after the siren in the Grand Final one.
Speaker 1 (29:22):
Hundred, do you run on the ground? Just a general Yeah?
Speaker 2 (29:26):
Why not?
Speaker 1 (29:26):
Would you even hesitant? Like was anyone else? Sorry if
we're spurring anything on you, So there we go. Yeah,
all right, tips and margin, I know which way we're
going to go. I'm going to go uh not now,
I'm going to.
Speaker 2 (29:36):
Go Geelong by fifty five cats north of forty eight points.
Speaker 1 (29:42):
I'm going to go North. Keep it somewhat respectable. Five goals,
five goals, five goals. Really, it's a win for North.
That is a win. That is a winner and a half.
Pathetic the next one definitely not talking about the rivalry around.
This is my favorite rivalry in the a Adelaide a
Verse plot Adelaide Saturday night, eight ten at the Adelaide Oval.
Speaker 2 (30:04):
I love this matchup as always leader. This is going
to be an absolute block bust. It's my favorite game
this round. The last time these sides played, we talked
a lot about form going out the window and weather.
Form actually matters, and I don't think it does because
last time they played, Adelaide were fifth, Port were twelfth.
Adelaide did win by five points, but Port dominated territory
(30:26):
twenty one more. Inside fifties were pushing really hard late
for a comeback victory and it was led by Rosie,
who's a test to come back this week. Rosie obviously
won the medal in the losing side, which I know
stats guys.
Speaker 1 (30:39):
Down of you shouldn't be to win any medal if
you lose, if you play outrageously, unless you're in the Olympics,
like you get the silver. That's about it.
Speaker 2 (30:46):
Oh okay, I was going to say get the gold
if you lose. Yeah, but Port just didn't have an
answer for the Crows forward line. So the goalkicker is
in that game Thriller and fold kick three. You have
Rank and Raschelli and keys kick two and Neil Bullen
kicked one. Well that's perfect starting six forward line.
Speaker 1 (31:01):
Bar techs right, yep.
Speaker 2 (31:03):
So there's big roles here for zerk Thatcher, for a Lee,
for Jones, the whole Port Adelaide back line to plug
every league. If you stop this dude, another one will
pop up. You stop him, another.
Speaker 1 (31:14):
One will pop up.
Speaker 2 (31:15):
They've got to plug every leak and it's going to
be tough to do now. Adelaide they have so many
scoring options they have. I feel like their midfield depth
is just so deep, Like that gets not really just.
Speaker 1 (31:27):
Likes of those type of players we haven't talked about enough. Probably, Yeah,
their back line is so well structured.
Speaker 2 (31:31):
Plus they've won the last seven at Adelaide Oval and
I feel like stats guy, you just keep underrating him.
Speaker 1 (31:37):
It's the Crom, so I rate them during the season.
I love the Crom. I probably have underrated him in
the power ranking. Check that out on AFL today AU
every Monday morning. I have underrated him in terms of
the Grand Final and finals of that, but I'm not
underrating him for the season. I think they could win
almost every game for the rest of the regular season.
When it comes to finals, they're just not They're not
that experience that. There's a lot of other teams around them,
(31:58):
like the Pies, like Brisbane, even the Hawks have had
some finals experience last year. I just can't trust him
in the finals. That's what I want to saying. Do
you think they could go out in straight sets? Who
would they most likely play in the first round? Collinwood,
Brisbane or Geelong. They will, They will lose to all
three of those teams. It's at home, yep. I would
be back in the other team and then then think
(32:18):
the straight sets. I actually do think. I just love
our Adelaide fan base. There's a lot of I think
they could go in straight sets. Possibly, why you started
through that, I don't think you believe that. I believe
I'm just nervous because the Chrome fans are going to
come from.
Speaker 2 (32:38):
I think Adelaide fans in the comment should let us
know where they think are going to finish.
Speaker 1 (32:42):
And I also think they should send some hate towards
you Stat's guy. I'm making the Grand Final. Oh I
don't know about making the Grand Final the prelimit least
maybe maybe yeah see anyway, oh yeah, this is my game.
Now look, stats guy will give you some porters. Because
you mentioned Ken Hinckley on the review show. I loved him.
You're talking about how he's just vibing.
Speaker 2 (33:02):
Is this He's never had a laugh, He's putting stuff
in his teeth, He's laughing at guinneh. He's just having
a good time. But this is his last showdown ever
and it's a bit of it's it's emotional for me,
best rolling in the game, and this is Ken's last one.
Speaker 1 (33:17):
Do reckon.
Speaker 2 (33:17):
He actually like locks in on this one and like
switches on and just actually coaches. I feel that's rude
to say, but like, what do we think does he
lift them up?
Speaker 1 (33:28):
No, we spoke about him being.
Speaker 2 (33:34):
They might unplug him, and then.
Speaker 3 (33:37):
Actually why not he want to go off install in
good fashion? I think the players would want to say,
so why not?
Speaker 1 (33:46):
Yeah? I think this is more emotion. No lollies, No
lollies in the mouth this time. If I'm feeling emotional,
how a poored out of aid feeling right now? They're
gonna you're emotional. It's sad.
Speaker 2 (33:56):
It's Kenny's last showdown. They're going to be walking out
to the round and they're going to be crying.
Speaker 1 (34:01):
Is never tear us apart plays Kenny's leaving him. Kenny
is tearing me that he told them apart when he left.
He's a good actor. We'll go over a bit of
a weather report on this one, Jane Buno their conditions
in this sign.
Speaker 2 (34:19):
So the day before we're expecting fifteen to thirty meals
of rain.
Speaker 1 (34:22):
We think some of those just went on the shirt
as well.
Speaker 2 (34:26):
From you, I was crying, not spitting on the day
four to twenty meals of rain. So who do we
think the conditions can sued here? And does that plane
who wins the Showdown medal?
Speaker 1 (34:38):
I think it will.
Speaker 3 (34:38):
I think it definitely favors Port Adelaide. Really yeah, they
got the less tal less toll forward, you got the
three prong tour forwards and of you talked about in
your analysis that they could be an issue. But if
it's wet, hopefully that will play less of a factor
for the likes of a little Lears Thatcher and Luckie Johnts.
Speaker 1 (34:56):
Yep, fair enough, and it may it should have make
the game closer as well. Like I know that the
s downs are always close, but if you're worried about
Adelaide having a big blowout game against them, if it rains,
I reckon it can make it a bit tighter that
both teams have players for the scrap though you're thinking
about it. You've got but Oi Wines, butters Boke as well. Yeah,
and then you've got the lors Celego banking rank. There
(35:17):
we go, So Lee, I mentioned it. Who's going to
win the Showdown? Metal and who's going to win the Showdown? Lads?
I think Rankin wins the medal. I see he can.
He's class in no matter what the conditions are. And
crom By two goals, two goals, Marcus only go a
little bit more on the side of Chrome. We're going
to go crom By four goals and I'm going to
go toss between Jake's Oligo and Ben keyes for the medal,
(35:39):
but I'm going to go with ben Key's because I
think he deserves an Australian jacket. Australian jacket. Yeah, I
don't mind that. I don't mind that. I'm going to go.
I'm going to go Jordan Dawson for the showdown Metal.
You average seven tackles, eleven contested possessions. I think he
can up that in the wet weather and he can.
He just suited to any conditions. He's that good. And
then I'm going to go the cron by fifteen points.
I think it's going to be a another thriller and
(36:01):
then theyre thriller, Miky, a little match when at the end,
there we go, we go. Richmond. Collingwood is on Sunday
at two ten at the mcg Marcus.
Speaker 3 (36:09):
Yeah, well is it too heavyweight to the competition and
who thought heading into this game Richmond? Yes, Richmond back
to back wins was Collingwood. We'll have back to back losses.
It's actually crazy, that sounds weird. The wins for Richmond
we were against Essendon West Coast and the losses for
Collingwood were against Gold Coast and Freemantle. But just thinking
(36:31):
of that stat line heading into this game that form trend.
But is there insaying that, is there any reason to
be concerned about the Pies? Look, they need four for formals.
Perhaps did they peak a little bit too early.
Speaker 1 (36:45):
Possibly? Or is this just a little blip in the road.
Speaker 2 (36:48):
I think it's a blip, Like what's what is the
cutoff that I'm curious what's the cutoff in this game
where even if they win, we go okay, no, we're concerned.
Is it two goals? Is it that to win more
on were of my three goals?
Speaker 1 (37:01):
Is that? Like?
Speaker 2 (37:01):
Okay, maybe we are concerned.
Speaker 1 (37:03):
They only just got over West Coast. So I think
if they win by like even if it's like thirty,
that's still that's not a pass for me. I don't
know about you guys.
Speaker 3 (37:12):
I think just get a win on the board. That's
That's same for calling with it. You just got to
see it. Yeah, those four points, especially when you've got
the teams like Adlaide and Brisbane breathing down your neck
for the line Premiership. But if you're Craig McCrae, do
you continue at looking resting players here? Possibly the likes
of Nakos, Nick Dakors I know he's fighting for possibly
(37:33):
like the Brown though he's the favorite, but to go
he might be back. And we had the news of
Boe McCreary today. He's just done his hammy at training bad.
I think he's had like three injuries this year. It
just can't catch your brain, especially for someone who just
runs like a headless a lot of pressure. Yeah, yeah,
a soft tissue injury isn't so ideal. So do you
rest players here for.
Speaker 1 (37:54):
I don't think you should rest Nick Daikos in particular.
Speaker 2 (37:57):
I just think he's young, he's fit, he can show
that he can back it up week and week and
you've get a pre finals by that you can look
at resting him.
Speaker 1 (38:05):
I think you're playing through I agree that's very true.
Speaker 3 (38:07):
But I wanted to highlight for a Richmond point of view,
because they have played well. They've got those two wins.
So what's highlight their strength so far over those two games,
And it was their defensive strength. But forget about like
obviously that comes with the pressure and the tackling that
we all saw and highlighted with monstreality chased down like
the Richmond of old, a bit theack a little bit,
but I've only conceded to combine ninety three points across
(38:28):
those two wins and the previous three matches they conceded
a combined three hundred.
Speaker 1 (38:34):
And eighty one. That's great.
Speaker 3 (38:36):
So I just wanted to highlight possibly the likes of
Ben Miller and such in that defense.
Speaker 1 (38:41):
Yer Youngs come in and played well.
Speaker 3 (38:42):
Yeah, exactly well, although it doesn't look great for them
on an eight day break. Normally you think, you know what,
a little bit of extra rest, it's a bit better,
a little bit fresher, go and have a crack.
Speaker 1 (38:53):
But they're actually zero to ten on an eight day
break is a wild stat that is not of my football.
Let's play on the game. Let's play for his three days.
That'll probably lead into war.
Speaker 3 (39:04):
I think that the Paws will get this done comfortably
around the forty to fifty point mark.
Speaker 1 (39:09):
Yeah, I think we're all around that. I think we're
all around that. Yeah, yeah, forty five. I'm going to
say pretty similar last game other round, let's get into it.
Sunday three fifteen at Marvel Stadium is Saint Kilda verse Melbourne.
Simple one. If you're talking about the Saints, you've got
to talk about the main Man, one of the best
players in the competition, Nazaia Wangane Miller. We talked about
it on Sunday. Just to stay in the midfield. If
Ross does not playing him in the midfield, maybe because
(39:30):
they're back at Marvey's, Like, well, I got to put
him half back. If he's not in the midfield, I
don't know what he's doing dominated against the Cats who
obviously have a star midfield of Bailey Smith, Max Holmes,
and now he faces the fifth worst clearance team in
the competition. He's just got to stay in there, like
surely he's got to.
Speaker 2 (39:42):
And you say, you got to talk when we talk
about the Saints, you talk about NAS, when we talk
about the D's, you talk about Closey.
Speaker 1 (39:47):
Absolutely good little little segue there. Yeah, this would be
really really fun to watch Cozy versus Nas in the
middle both career best disposers and clearances this season. Now,
lads will Ross Lyon Simon Goodman, Will they this matchup
flourish or are they just going to shut it, shut
it down, just shut it down as they like to do.
What do you think I'm trying to put it in
(40:08):
the airways for them to do it.
Speaker 2 (40:09):
Here's all they should have done. They should be catching
up as we speak right now to go. Look, we're
looking at this game. It's fourteenth verse fifteenth. It is
the worst game potentially this season.
Speaker 1 (40:20):
It is an ugly game.
Speaker 2 (40:22):
That's us can we should we just say, all right,
gentlemen's bet we put Nas on Cozy and we get
a dangerfield five thing going, and it actually makes some
interest in this game, and even you could even broadcast
broadcast put it on the socials, be like everyone, we're
putting Wangane Miller on Cozy and vice versa.
Speaker 1 (40:40):
And let's just see how they go. They'll get more
people there, they would, But I don't think I don't
think it's gonna happen outside of those players. But Tarka, Yeah,
that was pretty good though. Patarka also averages twenty three
disposals two point six goals across his last three meetings
with the Saints that last time they played. This is
a weird one that the Saints one that these kick
seven was twenty one and the only one that was
(41:01):
really efficient was Petruco in that last one as well.
So I'm a little bit worried about the des in
that perspective. The Demons They've lost six of their last seven.
The Saints have lost the last six and that last
win that they did get was against the D's. Talking
about the D's kicking seven goals twenty one in that
last meeting. The Demons are the second worst shots in
front of goal in the competition. And the rumors they're
going after Joe Dannaher, who is not a very good
(41:23):
shot in front of goals. They want to make it
even worse. They want to make it even worse. But
what do we think Joe Danaho would help this side
a lot? But should they?
Speaker 2 (41:30):
Is there any chance I'm going to get him made?
There's more of a chance I've played for Melbourne than.
Speaker 1 (41:36):
A secluded life. Joe Dowd, he's even heard the news. Yeah,
he might not even have a phone because he doesn't
have a TV. I remember fun fact Camerini. That is wild.
The Saints, well, they've had a weirdly tough season. We've
talked to some Saints fans a bit unlucky, facing twelve
games across the top nine against the top nine this
season and only six games against the bottom nine. So
(41:57):
obviously the fixtures have changed and a few different teams
are pushed up in the final. But that's a bit unlucky. Now, lads,
I'm going to lean towards the Saints in this one
for these reasons. They're losing margins against the Dockers, Freo
and Hawks. That's across the last month. We're only twelve points.
There's some really good sides. They kept up with them.
They were even pretty solid against the Cats last week,
and they're back in the Candy Stripes. I reckon he's
one of the best kids in the competition. They wore
(42:18):
it at gather Around, I believe last year. So I'm
going to go the Saints by amasingly two goals. Leo
is very torn here.
Speaker 3 (42:25):
I'm going to be absolute nail bid. It's going to
be within a kick and Willie Wonk will be proud.
Speaker 1 (42:31):
The Candy Strips that was weird. I really don't know
how to tear draw, go draw the same.
Speaker 2 (42:40):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (42:40):
This is an ugly game. Why don't you go d
so different? Oh he's going to you don't mind the Saints.
That is going to be really tough game and we'll
be watching that. That's the last game, all right, Let's
get into the lock of the week. And the big calls.
I stuffed up the lock last week, so I started here.
Jess will kick two plus. That is a lock against
North Malo.
Speaker 2 (42:57):
But if the Pink Pony Club locks him up.
Speaker 1 (43:00):
Nah, that's not that's not happening.
Speaker 2 (43:02):
Being too good.
Speaker 1 (43:02):
Yeah no, they're being pony cud lifts at the G.
He's better at the G. What you're lock layer? I
like dogs win. Nothing more said against the Bombers. Okay, yeah,
and in that game, I'm gonna go Sam Darcy two
plus goals. Oh yeah, that's that's a lot for sure.
Big calls. Marcus got one last week. I'll start with you.
You're the man at the moment.
Speaker 3 (43:21):
I'm sticking to the same thing as my luck, and
we go Sam Darcy plus Aaron Norton to beat the Bombers.
Speaker 1 (43:28):
They're going to out their own boot. Off their own boot,
They're going to outscore. I think that will definitely happen
if I'm being on definitely.
Speaker 2 (43:35):
I don't know. I'm going to be obscure and abstract
because I am a little bit different. As my mum
likes to say, ranking kicks goal of the Year contender
in the showdown.
Speaker 1 (43:45):
That'll be a big call. It'll be on the highlight. Actually,
hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, I'm just
closing my eyes. Can you paint me a picture of
how it's going to happen? Yes?
Speaker 2 (43:52):
There. In twenty thirteen, the bombers were found guilty of man,
how did he.
Speaker 1 (44:01):
Think that that was actually good? Go? Go famous? Would
you say so? I just actually wanted to see. How
do you think it's gonna kick? It's going to be
from the nyar.
Speaker 2 (44:12):
I reckon it might be remember Cyril and Tazzi where
he just like kicked it out of the air. Yeah,
I reckon it's going to be like that, but a
bit closer to the man.
Speaker 1 (44:19):
If you predict how he kicks the goal, of you,
that's a social clip that is unbelievable. See how we
go I'm going for a fairy tale finish here in
the big calls. Sam Dougherty, obviously we talked about him,
is going to retire after this game. I'm going to
finish the career strong. Twenty five plus disposals, one plus goal.
He had this stat line in his return game against
the Tigers in twenty twenty three. He had exactly twenty
five on a goal. I think he's going to do
(44:39):
the same again. Kicked a goal last week. The boys
are going to be feeding him the cardon boys are
going to dock here we go if they if they're
down by a bit, especially playing the hawk, I reckon
they're just going to feed him. We'll play forward towards
the end of the game, for sure. I reckon he'll
with the half forward flank and just kick a goal. Well,
the howks let him keep the goal.
Speaker 3 (44:53):
Yeah, if you're in front, blown.
Speaker 2 (44:56):
Even if we're down by a goal, if you miss,
we are left.
Speaker 1 (45:01):
What's Sam Dockerty? What did you miss it? On finals?
Per percentage?
Speaker 2 (45:04):
I understand, understand the occasion, understand the account. I then
should put him one out.
Speaker 1 (45:08):
I think you're ruthless if you don't give that man
the football. I agree.
Speaker 2 (45:12):
Put Doherty on Ciccily and see what happens. There might
be a bit of biff.
Speaker 1 (45:15):
Now Dockerty won't get into bith anyway. That will do
