Speaker 1 (00:00):
Forget about rivalry. Round Round twenty was demolition derby. Here
we go, Marcus, what do we talk about?
Speaker 2 (00:05):
It's never been more clear to me that the Saint
Kilda should sell their premiership one and only Premiership Cup
to give it to Nasiah Langaneen Miller's contract.
Speaker 3 (00:14):
And I talk about how my beloved Hawks are set
to miss the top eight.
Speaker 4 (00:17):
Geez, check out AFL Today right now.
Speaker 1 (00:21):
Round twenty is done and dusted and welcome back to
the AFL Today Show, brought to you by Stockhead. I'm
your host, Liam McCallan, also knows the stats guy. I've
got the lads on the couch. They're fired up as always, Liam,
Marcus Barzana.
Speaker 3 (00:34):
Howel, I'm feeling pretty good on that about you, Marcus,
but my team didn't get smacked this weekend.
Speaker 4 (00:40):
Sorry to put your boys. That was a little bit
of yeah, you're you're a bit sad like me, Marcus. Absolutely.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
As you see, there is no scar for merchandise here
because it's already been burned.
Speaker 4 (00:49):
I know I might burn that Nord scuff behind you.
Speaker 1 (00:51):

Speaker 4 (01:00):
Leave a comment as well.
Speaker 1 (01:01):
We've been loving the comments, like a lot of crows,
the Porterlo Crumb supporters coming out coming through the top
two now which they're very excited for, and just lots
of nice comments lately, so keep them coming. Filling the love, yeah,
filling the love, which is really good. All right, let's
get into the Round twenty results. So we're going to
call it demolition around the smashing round or whatever we
want to call it. We're going to start on Thursday
night at the mcg Hawthorne, Carton, Hawthorne at thirteen goal
(01:21):
seven eighty five Carlton nine goals, seven sixty one.
Speaker 2 (01:23):
Docks farewell Marcus. It was dogs, fair well and that's
how we led the game in the midweek show. Yes,
so what a better place to start than Sam Dougherty
got his farewell goal on the end. He did kick
a couple of behind so it looked like it didn't
wasn't going to happen, but he got shared off by
Patty Cripps and Kate Simpson. Lovely my former teammate goal
celebration This good mate, a little little bower.
Speaker 3 (01:45):
I really liked that because he knew that crowd or
wanted it. Even the Hawks fans wonder he ever shot
like thirty seconds later. I wonder if that went in,
what celebration he would have done next? Because it was
nice to go out on the bad.
Speaker 4 (01:55):
I reckon our teammate does like the put the crown.
Oh that would have been nice.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
But unfortunately for his teammates, they didn't bring the same intensity,
the same passion and energy as Sam Dockerty did and
there was just a lot of bad vision of players
not running back. We saw Adam sard get highlighted on
Fox Footy as one of the people we just refused
to chase and it just worked harder in the end.
(02:22):
It's just something you don't really want to see.
Speaker 4 (02:26):
But another big one was not putting any body contact
on Kelsha Dear. He's a nineteen year old tall forward.
He's a superstar. I was saying was doing some things
to me on Thursday night. The column defense was just
letting him run and jump at the footy. He's just
so good. He was and he does.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
He did take a Mark of the Year contender over
poor Sam, and.
Speaker 1 (02:54):
I was like, I come on with cart and play
some better defense, because that was that was an unbelievable
a full strap stretch, wasn't it?
Speaker 4 (03:01):
So what was what was higher? In the end, Sam
Dockerty's share off or kel is a lot longer series,
it's a lot longer. He got up a bit higher
like it.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
But again, they did win the second half, but you
could tell Hawthorne put their foot off the gas a
little bit. So just in positive news for Carlton, they
did win that second half and they were did play
well in the midfield in their contested game. That's what
they're known for. But the big news that I want
to talk about for Hawthorne on the Hawthorn front is
(03:33):
now they've got a real dilemma, all four dilemma on
their hands.
Speaker 4 (03:37):
It's a good it's a good problem to have. Whoever
they put in just dominates. It's crazy. Leo as the
Hawthorne supporter, Yeah, what three would you pick? So first
week of hornals, everyone's been asking me this. You asked
me this on the Thursday show. My mom was asking me.
She doesn't even know what's going on Gary from the shots. Everybody.
Speaker 3 (03:57):
Look, I've thought about this long and hard week. I've
spent thinking about this. I'm going with guns and Chol
and Deer, and I think, and that is so tough.
Speaker 4 (04:07):
Can I ask you a question? You can ask me
as many questions. That's part of the show.
Speaker 1 (04:10):
I guess is that because of Mitch Lewis's forward pressure,
because chrolls are very good forward pressure.
Speaker 4 (04:15):
Is that I think that's the only thing that could
come down to.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
Yeah, I think guns and you can't drop him. He's
on track for a fifty gold season. You see what
he can do in the air like he's the future.
I'd love to see him keep playing football. So it
comes down to Chole and Lewis. For me, Chol adds
that pressure, but he also gives me a chop out
in the run Deer goes into the rock.
Speaker 4 (04:33):
I think it's too big a drop off. That's it
looks because Lewis looks so good. Sticky hands, He's got
sticky hands. He's good on the.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
Lead, definitely.
Speaker 4 (04:46):
So it's a dilemma. It is a dilemma. I don't
want to know that.
Speaker 2 (04:49):
But you want to be a whole lot of the
run home for the Hawks because it is a tough
run home and do you think they can make frumals.
Speaker 3 (04:55):
Look, I don't think we will when we've got Crows Away,
Pie Is at home, Days at home Brisbane Away. I
think the two major concerns going into this last month
of the clearances and overusing the ball, which we saw
a little bit on the weekend.
Speaker 4 (05:08):
We're currently the worst clearance side in the game, so
that's not great.
Speaker 3 (05:11):
And quite often use the ball and not really our
direct with it. There's no real plan sometimes when we
move it. We saw that against Carlton, so I think
we need to lift massively in those areas and I
think we have.
Speaker 4 (05:23):
To win through the last four to make it. It's crazy.
Speaker 1 (05:26):
Yeah, we'll get into ladder check later in the show.
It's crazy how many wins you got to get this year.
We talked about the Hawks two forwards, but how important
isn't it. We're going to go down back now for
James Cecily playing his best footy in the last four
rounds leading into what could be a final series. Because
he played well on the Thursday night inst Colum.
Speaker 3 (05:42):
Yeah, I actually thought he was our best player down back.
He was playing his best football. Looks strong in the air,
even bit off a bit of a tough kick.
Speaker 4 (05:49):
Which kicks is a little bit back.
Speaker 3 (05:52):
Still, he needs to do it for these four weeks
to really solidify that he is back and he's crucial
for the Hawks in the last month of football.
Speaker 4 (06:01):
Absolutely, it'll be crucial to get a few more wins.
Speaker 1 (06:03):
Like Leo mentioned, Friday night doubleheader is the next one
here Friday night at Marble Stadium. As the first one,
Essendon Western Bulldogs Essenon seven goals eight fifty Western Bulldogs
twenty two goals eleven, one hundred and forty three.
Speaker 4 (06:15):
They absolutely smoked them. Later, they absolutely did and this went.
Speaker 3 (06:18):
How he expected it to apologized to on my colleague Marcus.
It was really the Darcy and Norton show. Thirteen goals
between them and not with an equal or not equal, sorry,
a career high seven. He was awesome up top and Darcy,
well you want to point this out, stats go that
Darcy didn't have one rock contest. Yes, Marcus, and I
(06:38):
think that if if in required, he should go into
the rock.
Speaker 1 (06:41):
Just lead him down. Forty can't kick six plus goals
played in the rock.
Speaker 4 (06:46):
He won't lose hit out. He's got the he could
get in. Keep him safe. He's got the long levers.
He'll be formed his job.
Speaker 3 (06:52):
He's getting paid to do it, and you're speaking of
him doing his job. Him and Norton did a great job.
They beat Essendon by thirty one in this one. So
that's a bit of a percentage booster for Darcy Norton
FC right there, and fresh off his contract and being
named the second best bulldog of all time, the Glorious King,
the handsome man.
Speaker 4 (07:11):
He was great.
Speaker 3 (07:12):
Thirty five disposals, two goals, eleven score involvements, all at
eighty percent score US disposal efficiency.
Speaker 1 (07:19):
Love.
Speaker 4 (07:19):
Then for the Bombers, we talked.
Speaker 3 (07:21):
Sorry, Marcus, you talked about this on the Thursday show
about you want to see the smallest to put some
pressure on in When I was watching this game and
our Isaac Kaka missed two very getible tackles on my
avery within probably the first thirty seconds of the game,
I thought of you, So, how do you see that
play now, Marcus?
Speaker 4 (07:41):
Which one to do? The reverse malls?
Speaker 2 (07:42):
It's worked like and it works, and it worked the
three previous occasions, yep, but I should know it wouldn't
have worked when it comes to us, and because that
is just pretty much more lost story.
Speaker 4 (07:51):
But you can't ask for miracles on the foota field.
There were Yeah, there were just a lot of just
laying tackles and look, the dog's a point.
Speaker 2 (07:58):
They were kicking around defense like you know, shipping around defense,
and the kicks are dropping short like they weren't playing.
Look to their Premiership for the build is and it's
just that even then, that's when you've got to have
the pressure put on in the in the forward half
of the Bombers third a half when those dogs kicks
aren't too crash hot.
Speaker 3 (08:17):
So yeah, I find appoint him in particular. Perkins and
Gresham were really disappointing. I think Kaka you can forgive
he's a young guy. He's going to be a star.
Perkins and Gression, which they've they've been around for ages.
Now what are they as footballers? I've got no bloody clue.
Speaker 4 (08:30):
I don't think you do.
Speaker 2 (08:31):
Either, agreed, And I think it's probably a little bit
concerned in that the likes of joy Menzi and Owen
David Jr.
Speaker 4 (08:37):
Are getting a game in this team when and they're
younger with.
Speaker 2 (08:40):
All these injuries as well, so uh, interesting list decisions
coming ahead in the future of the bombs.
Speaker 1 (08:47):
Absolutely, the Dogs get a huge win. The percent the
percentage just gone through the roof. As we'll touch on
in the ladder check as well. There was another game
on Friday night, the Battle of the Bridge at NJI Stadium,
GWS taking on Sydney. Of course, GWS fifteen goals twelve,
one hundred and two, Sydney eight goals, ten to fifty eight. Now, lads,
I don't know everyone out there watched this game. It
was an insane game. You look at the scores and
go Giants did it easy. They'll just cruise their way home.
(09:09):
They were losing in the second quarter by thirty five points.
Teams are thinking, oh, I'm so glad we'd have to
play this ones in the finals. They were absolutely fine,
look like this one is going to win by fifty
plus and then they absolutely pounced him in the second half.
Twelve goals to one, twenty scoring shots to three in
the second half.
Speaker 4 (09:23):
What the buddy, I happened here? What happened?
Speaker 1 (09:24):
So the halftime interview happened. That's what happened the halftime.
I'm happy to talk about the halftime interview as well.
Toby Green back at it again. He's always doing something funny.
He called Papy overweight, which is a bit of an
interesting one. He had a disposal with second quarter, a
three disposal first quarter, and then he's calling Toby sorry,
he's toorn Paply overweight at half time going well that's
not good from Toby, come on, you got to but
(09:45):
they gotta win. So he got the last laugh. Do
we think he overstooped? The overstood the mark lads and
what happened here.
Speaker 3 (09:50):
I think gets fine because if Papley has an issue
with it, I think you should just grow up.
Speaker 4 (09:56):
These two clowns right here. They do nothing.
Speaker 3 (09:58):
They do what Toby Green was doing in the first half,
and then they call me fat.
Speaker 4 (10:01):
No, no, I have never called you that.
Speaker 3 (10:07):
He has no but I think it's fire as.
Speaker 4 (10:11):
A scene on the gets fine. I think it gets fine.
It's fine, a bit of beff and Greeny. He and
the Giants lifted. He got a goal.
Speaker 1 (10:20):
I don't think he had a great game and they
had nine disposals and one goal. Rampy always plays well
on him. As we touched on during the week, I'll
touch on this one. Players that were alsome in the
first half. He had Hayward who had three first half goals.
Grundy was everywhere. He got a goal on the first
half and finished with twenty four disposals. He's in incredible
formats he's done. He's done it again. He's playing like
an extra midfield of the Unicorn, so get around him.
But then the Giants they just awoke. They were absolutely awesome.
Speaker 4 (10:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (10:41):
Yeah tober greenking a goal of Finn Callahan. He broke
the tag of James Jordan. First half Finn Callahan not
doing too well, James Jordan, everyone's gone. James Orons the
best tagger then and he ended up with the Brett
Kirk medal, twenty one disposals, a goal.
Speaker 2 (10:54):
Royce his goal was unreal as well, Like for such
a big guy, he's got some wheels, he's got did.
Speaker 1 (11:00):
You Bond He has a bit of it looks a
bit like Bond ten like the Bond. Yeah, he is
a glorious man. So he was awesome, deserved deserve for
the medal. There amazing by jennb So I just want
to talk about their forward line. We've talked up Stringer,
but they work so well as a team. They combined Stringer,
Hogan and Camin combined for eight goals and sixteen marks.
Like obviously combining for eight goals is in the biggest amount,
but that's the perfect game of footy from me forwards.
Speaker 4 (11:22):
That's all they need to do. That's all they need
to do.
Speaker 3 (11:24):
When their forwards fire up from that sort of the
tsunami ball movement, it's pretty hard to stop, isn't it.
They've got a lot of options down there, which they
didn't have throughout that middle part of the season and
it was looking a bit scarce.
Speaker 1 (11:34):
So I remember even in the off season we were
a bit hesitant with the stringer move saying it might
be pasted.
Speaker 4 (11:39):
It not even that, just they didn't even need him.
Speaker 1 (11:41):
Yeah, and he's surpassed a lot of their forwards that
are in the twos and things like that, so he's
been absolutely awesome. The hair twenty one contested marks as
well in this game, that's what I think about sixteen
of them were in the second half as well, just
absolutely so dominant. They doubled their season average of ten
and a half usually in a game. So absolutely awesome
by the Giants there. Marcus, you've been on the Giants
all and what do you want to say?
Speaker 4 (12:01):
Enough enough? You have to believe they will.
Speaker 2 (12:05):
Mark my words ul Be West will play in this
year's Grand Final.
Speaker 1 (12:08):
More like Marcus's words, will you will you be in
an orange morphset. I'm just trying to bypass what Leo said,
orange morphs it. I'll paint yourself orange for the Grand
Final show or wear an orange morphsuit if they make it.
If they make the Grand Final, I love that because I.
Speaker 4 (12:21):
Don't think they will be making it. Sorry to let
you down, Yeah, this call was just a hater.
Speaker 1 (12:25):
That was an awes Yeah, we got to admit that
was an awesome win. It was a great win and
they're a great side.
Speaker 3 (12:29):
But we've seen in the last five years they get
to prelims, even a Grand Final.
Speaker 4 (12:35):
They just haven't done it, but.
Speaker 2 (12:36):
They've they've been there. Now they've got the experience there,
likens the four lawns different and this is probably their
best win of the season.
Speaker 4 (12:43):
I think. Yeah, it was amazing comeback and they got
the job done. They we go to the Grand finally.
Thinks that's very interesting.
Speaker 1 (12:49):
Let's get into Saturday at People's First Stadium, Gold Coast
First Brisbane, Gold Coast twenty goals, ten, one hundred and
thirty Brisbane nine goals ten only sixty four. Leo.
Speaker 4 (12:58):
You wanted to see a response from the Suns, and
they did it. Oh boy, did they do it.
Speaker 3 (13:03):
I think the biggest talking point for this game for
the Suns was their midfield. We've got to start on
Matt row he is so bloody good. Thirty seven disposals,
twenty three contested possessions, twelve tackles, fifteen clearances.
Speaker 4 (13:17):
That's not a triple double.
Speaker 1 (13:18):
That's a quadruple double double, because then does not watch
I love basketball.
Speaker 4 (13:25):
Oh we know he's bloody good. He's bloody good.
Speaker 3 (13:27):
He overcame any sort of negation from Josh Dunkley with ease.
But I think the inclusion of Alex Davies shouldn't go underrated,
comes in for his first game, and he really freed
up Rowlan Anderson to sort of play to their.
Speaker 4 (13:41):
Best as well. With especially we took Miller being out.
Speaker 3 (13:44):
So Davies in his first game of the year gets
thirty disposals and ten tackles, and Anderson has thirty three
in a goal. So when we add it all up
and we throw in fear Reenie the great field, you
get one hundred and thirty two disposals and thirty clearance crazy,
That is pure domination. Those are insane numbers for mine.
So that we got, they got, They got the even
(14:04):
spread in the midfield. Had they also had an even
spread of contributors in the forward line, didn't they markets?
Speaker 4 (14:10):
They sure did.
Speaker 2 (14:10):
And the players who are stepping up and a lot
of the time I want to hoilight Bailey. Humphries Or
called him out on the Socials for perhaps playing his
best month for footing the Yeah, his career so far,
he said, I think he's about ten goals in his
last seven games. But he's also having a little time
in that midfield getting some clearances, getting towards you know,
fifteen twenty disposals, perhaps even beyond that in some of
(14:32):
those matches. So and the likes of Ben Long you
got ainsworth in there as well. They're just kicking goals
and it's a good little mix that they got there.
And then they don't have to rely on Ben King
kicking big bags.
Speaker 4 (14:42):
Yeah, King only gets the two goals for the game,
so perfect.
Speaker 3 (14:45):
That's huge for the Suns that they can win by
that much in their main power forward still play as well,
but they don't need him to and also Jared Witz
just absolutely bullied the big O and fought in the Rakies.
Speaker 4 (14:57):
An awesome, awesome player.
Speaker 1 (14:58):
He's been an underrated cog for them, Like I know,
I think he's getting a bit older, but he's been
unbelievable this year in some big games.
Speaker 3 (15:05):
I do, yeah, I tend to agree that he's underrated.
That that is a good point.
Speaker 2 (15:08):
A lot of people thought, look, this was the drop
off for Joed Witz and yeah, this is going to
be the forthcoming of Ned Moyle, but.
Speaker 4 (15:15):
They're waiting for ned More to come through.
Speaker 2 (15:17):
He's been playing, but also far Witsie and with ned
More out of contract, you know, yeah, bombs.
Speaker 4 (15:25):
Potentially on the Brizzy lines. They just got bullied.
Speaker 3 (15:28):
It was the entire team. They just got bullied from
the start of the game.
Speaker 4 (15:32):
The numbers on.
Speaker 3 (15:33):
Paper actually look okay for their stars like Neil Dunkley,
mccluggey's rainer, they look all right round to kick three,
But the real difference in this one was the disposal efficiency.
His son's just used it a lot better compared to
those busy players, So they were not only tougher, but
they just were a lot better with ball in hand
in those tough conditions. So looking at Brisbane's run home,
(15:54):
Marcus and stats guy you have both mentioned that it's
it's a tough back half of the year for them,
and it doesn't get any it doesn't get any easier.
Speaker 4 (16:03):
You're right, They've got the Pies.
Speaker 3 (16:05):
Away sitting at home, Free Away Hawks at home. They
are only what two games ahead of like falling out
of the top four.
Speaker 4 (16:14):
Do you guys think they can still make it?
Speaker 2 (16:16):
This is gonna said, this is a tough one. Honestly,
I have no clue, but I'm gonna put my neck
hut on the one. I'm gonna say they miss.
Speaker 4 (16:21):
Out to No. I think they.
Speaker 1 (16:24):
I think they went through those four so they can.
They can definitely beat the Swans at home. This one's
a bit up and down. They can beat Free Free
home have been actually better away. So I back Brisbane
to beat him away and then the Hawks as well.
The Hawks went amazing against Carlton. I'll be backing Brisbane
and they beat him beat the Hawks last time as well.
Speaker 3 (16:40):
So you really So you're saying that they have to
beat one of Freo or Collingwood.
Speaker 4 (16:45):
Yeah, that's the situation. I think. I don't think they will.
You think they will. I think they will.
Speaker 1 (16:49):
I think they'll be top four because they're too good.
I think this was one of those games, like the
Sun said last week, was a bit of an outline.
Speaker 4 (16:54):
Yeah, well they respond against the pie.
Speaker 1 (16:56):
Yes, wait and see, that's going to be absolutely huge.
The other one at on Saturday. It was at Opter Stadium,
Freeman or West Coast, the Western Derby, that Derby, whatever
you want to call it. Freeman or eighteen goals eighteen,
one hundred and twenty six West Coast, twelve goals five
seventy seven Frero.
Speaker 4 (17:10):
They were just too strong in the end.
Speaker 1 (17:11):
The equal most scoring shots they've had in the last
ten years by the left some out there. They kicked
eighteen goals eighteen lads four goals twelve across the second
and third quarters. Just get get through the big sticks.
They got to kick two hundred blood points two hundred
bloody Yeah. I don't know about tw hundred points, but
they should have kicked it through the big stick. Those
second and third quarters were unbelievab by Frero. You have
to talk about Hayden Young. He was absolutely incredible. Just
returned from hanry surgery last week. Takes out the Derby
(17:33):
Metal with twenty four disposals, three goals, one hundred disposal
efficiency if you don't mind, and he got subbed out
at three got a time.
Speaker 4 (17:39):
So he is absolutely incredible. Leo. He's being talked about enough.
I don't think he is.
Speaker 3 (17:43):
He's one of those plays that, Yeah, he hasn't really
been talked about in the sense of Frio's charge for finals.
Speaker 4 (17:49):
We talk about Throng and Brayshawn Rightley, so when.
Speaker 3 (17:52):
The stars that they have, but he's like a sneaky
little assassin. He's a great user, he's tough over the ball,
that can kick goals. We've seen this game. I think
if he stays fit, he's going to be a real
factor for him going into finals.
Speaker 4 (18:05):
Everyone would love a Hayden Young in their team and
they need a Hayden Young.
Speaker 1 (18:08):
He is the Swiss army knife. He can play anywhere.
He can play half back, taking this at marks. He
can play midfield and get clearances. He can play out
of full forty. He played in a half forward a
little bit, taken some big grabs on the weekend. He
can play anywhere, so good calls.
Speaker 4 (18:18):
To the next nap five. Yes, that's fit. Probably not,
but he could. He could be Freer fans will love that.
Talking about Freo as well, Voss Frederick.
Speaker 1 (18:25):
And Amos Frederick actually had four goals one of his
probably season best games. Foss, Frederick and Amos combining for
ten goals and Josh Tracy not getting a single goal.
I know that's not good for Josh Tracy, but that's
great for fre You're getting ten goals, ten big goals
from three guys outside their main goalkicker.
Speaker 4 (18:39):
So the Sons with King exactly, Yeah, You're.
Speaker 1 (18:41):
Getting goals from everywhere at the moment, especially the confidence
of Vos just strutting around and so he got another
three goals. He just kicks three goals for fun at
the moment. And then in the Eagles, they stayed in
the game. It was partly because of the misses, but
also partly because of their the older guy stepping up.
Speaker 4 (18:54):
We called on this. I think Marcus might have called
on this last week.
Speaker 1 (18:57):
Lemon Baker's been great all season, but Tim Kelly he
finally finally provided something. Baker and Kelli combined for fifty
disposals and three goals in this one, which is a
great return. They were really strong, pretty much the whole game,
and it was a fun final quarter. You got the
Eagles finish with their third highest score of the season.
And I'm loving highly reads ability lads to hit the scoreboard.
I think that's an underrated part of his game. Two
goals again on the weekend in a big game. Fourteen
(19:18):
goals this season, which is only six mids in the
competition ahead of him for goals this season.
Speaker 4 (19:23):
That's that's not bad.
Speaker 3 (19:24):
A young dude, that's the main guy in that midfield,
and they were losing a lot of games.
Speaker 4 (19:28):
Lose the one in eighteen.
Speaker 3 (19:31):
That's that's an extraordinary feat and I think some of
the haters on him should quite in a down.
Speaker 4 (19:36):
Yeah, So I was definitely one of those.
Speaker 1 (19:37):
And obviously it gets still a few little fights, but
these actual game plays unbelievable. He's just second to none.
So get around Harley, Reed and Frere. They've won nine
at the last cent. The Purple Hazes is still going on.
Purple Hazes is coming.
Speaker 4 (19:49):
It's coming. We'll see. We'll see how it comes when
we hit septembereth. Go feed.
Speaker 2 (19:56):
Yeah, finals, that's that's the big question mark there. If
they can get the job done well, they have shown
that they could get the job done against the better teams.
Speaker 4 (20:03):
Yeah. So the six and two against the topic.
Speaker 1 (20:05):
Yeah, and this is perfect confidence as they head into finals.
Speaker 4 (20:08):
Saturday night. Is the next one?
Speaker 1 (20:09):
Marvel Stadium on no read.
Speaker 4 (20:15):
It's okay.
Speaker 2 (20:16):
North Melbourne seven goals seven forty nine to Jeremy Cameron
eleven goals sixty seven.
Speaker 1 (20:24):
Geelong with twenty two goals eight one hundred and fifty
eighteen two goals eighteen.
Speaker 4 (20:29):
Sorry, I'm just ratling. They left a lot out there.
Speaker 2 (20:31):
They could have kicked two hundreds. You're talking about we've
got to kick two hundred.
Speaker 4 (20:35):
They definitely could have. I'm so glad this is my game.
Speaker 2 (20:38):
Marcus taken away well some some of the defending for
Jeremy Camerony finished the game with eleven goals and the
bags for the big tool forwards are backs. Norton kicking seven,
Darcy kicking six and kicking eleven.
Speaker 4 (20:53):
I'm backing him in for the hundred. Boys want to
know it.
Speaker 2 (20:56):
I'm doing it before finals, home away season, home and
away season.
Speaker 4 (21:02):
He will crack the time and four finals that why not?
He's ten goals a game from me, doesn't he? Yeah?
Eight goals a game. Who esmon, So, okay, you'll kick fifteen,
that's yeah, fifteen fifteen fifteen fifteen injury ravage Port Adelaide, Okay,
that's seven yea twenty two.
Speaker 1 (21:22):
Sydney, which is Sydney just before the last game Sydney
a bit of a tough game three ninety four.
Speaker 2 (21:29):
And then he's got kicking six against Richmond in the
last way.
Speaker 3 (21:33):
What time is that because if no, if it's before
Noah Bolton's curve, he's going to He's rarely gonna lock.
Speaker 2 (21:38):
Richmond did play nor Bolt. We'll get we'll get to it.
But Richmond did play no A Bolt forward a little bit.
Do you have Ben Miller who has played well on
the big k forwards? But yes, Well, if they're going
to have Griffin Logan on him every week, then I
think himself one hundred and fifty.
Speaker 1 (21:55):
Done this the last three weeks where if someone's having
a set shot just say it's Blitzers.
Speaker 4 (21:58):
I think he did it. Blitzarz last week might have
been a this week. The guy can't kick that shots.
Speaker 1 (22:02):
If just watch the Colman Medalist, he's always gonna wheel
around the back and get the easy snap.
Speaker 4 (22:06):
Just really bad by Logan, a few.
Speaker 2 (22:07):
Other North players, and there was there was another one
where he was it was at a senate clearance at
the forward fifty arc as a clan just to stopage
at the forward fifty arc. And then Griffin log just
doesn't go goalside and just strolls along and kicks a
snap from thirty meters out under no pressure.
Speaker 3 (22:23):
Yeah, the lack of care towards defending that, that is
just appalling that those efforts from log And there were
some other team defensive moments as well that were equally
important and equally appalling.
Speaker 4 (22:36):
Yeah, it was shocking.
Speaker 2 (22:37):
There was there was moments where you leave the Coleman
Medalist one of the most dangerous players in the competition,
if not the most dangerous player. Yep, all alone inside
forward fifty and the amount of walking goals that Jeremy
Cameron had just was not good enough.
Speaker 4 (22:51):
And look he's leading like he's leading the Colma medal
on his own.
Speaker 2 (22:55):
He's just I don't understand some of the defensive tactics,
but it was in interesting to see that they did.
Clerko did belam age and experience an agent inexperience for
this loss.
Speaker 4 (23:10):
City glamed Polish as well than come back from one
hundred points.
Speaker 1 (23:15):
Look, his tactics were horrible. You had common just swapping ends.
I think every quarter was a different end. Keep him
in defense. He's had been a great defender, as Marcus
has called the last couple of seasons.
Speaker 2 (23:24):
You know, I should have I should have rang you
on Saturday night just to do a little welfare checker.
Speaker 4 (23:28):
Generally, it's a worry.
Speaker 1 (23:29):
Like I said, North fans, including myself a witness nineteen
point ninety point loss in the last five seasons, Like,
just say you win a few games around that. We're
seeing a nineteen point loss the last five seasons. Absolutely brutal. Look,
we talked about Clarko, but it's also the skills. The
skills have gone out the window the last three weeks.
Speaker 4 (23:45):
It's got everything everything. I'm going to run for you,
thank you. I'm saying, I'm so sorry you have to
go through this.
Speaker 1 (23:53):
Ah.
Speaker 3 (23:53):
If you know a North fan, even if it's like
a person from high school that you did, you weren't
really friends with, you don't talk to, but you know
they are, no fan check up on them, please, because
this club, what it's doing to its fans is diabolical.
There is not one positive. There is just not one point.
I don't want to hear a positive.
Speaker 1 (24:11):
Do you remember, like a month and a half ago, like,
oh we've had to go.
Speaker 4 (24:15):
To Oh my god, you're going to get like seven
wins after you've a car? What are you doing? It
is you have a long time on this.
Speaker 2 (24:27):
You know what the inside fifty seventy seven to thirty six?
Speaker 4 (24:32):
What like?
Speaker 1 (24:33):
You know?
Speaker 2 (24:33):
I know that John had forty one more inside fifties,
which is more inside fifties than North tallied for the game.
Speaker 3 (24:41):
We really needy you speak. The more North fans are
watching this just.
Speaker 2 (24:46):
We're just we'll talk about Geelong and yeah, and they're
good hitters. The Cats, they're back into the top four now.
I think they'll with that run home, they could have
really easy run home. I think they'll fincy their chances
in maintaining that top four.
Speaker 4 (24:58):
Definitely, maybe top two.
Speaker 2 (25:00):
Yeah, Atlanta a couple a few hard games, obviously Brisbane
we talked about their hard run home, but Bas as well,
he played superbly career best forty three disposals and a goal.
Speaker 4 (25:11):
Crazy. He had a little mouth off with someone in
the crowd. That was classic bas moment.
Speaker 1 (25:17):
That one I don't think any North fans can go
at a guy that's probably gonna come like second or
third in the Brown though, and.
Speaker 2 (25:22):
He's probably left it a little bit too little too late,
just because he's miss quite a few games. And we'll
get to that person who we think is going to
win the Absolutely.
Speaker 4 (25:29):
I just want to say one thing, just to wrap
this one up. Danger.
Speaker 1 (25:31):
This sums up to the game. Danger was having a
kebab in the last four and he's just sitting there.
He's just eating his kebab.
Speaker 4 (25:37):
I'm gone. They're one of the best players hitting abab.
Speaker 1 (25:40):
They're taking the mickey he was hitting on. Oh that's
crazy anyway, heleo quick question. Do you know what the
AX means?
Speaker 4 (25:49):
Do you mean a FLX?
Speaker 1 (25:51):
No, mate, the AX the Australian Stock Exchange.
Speaker 4 (25:54):
Oh man, I'm absolutely clueless for that stuff. Wow. Lucky
for you.
Speaker 1 (25:58):
Stock It is a free website that gives you every
thing you need to know about punting stocks on the AX.
Speaker 4 (26:02):
Damn, that sounds pretty good. Where do I check them out?
Speaker 1 (26:05):
Check it out via stock are dot com, dot you
and it's even easy for your little pee brain to understand.
Speaker 4 (26:10):
Damn.
Speaker 1 (26:11):
Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval is the next one,
Adelaide at verse Port Adelaide the Showdown Adelaide at twenty
goals at thirteen, one hundred and thirty three, another smashing
Port Adelaide five goals, five thirty five. Now, Lea, you
talked about the form going out the window for these sides,
but what happened.
Speaker 3 (26:25):
Here, well, it just went out the form. Yeah, it
was just it didn't go out the window, did it. No,
chrome just dominated them. I also asked if Port would
lift for Kenny's last showdown. I was getting to be
teary in the prevy show. They did not. That was
a bit big let down. The rain gods really turned
(26:45):
it on for this one. It was just bucketing down
and Adelaide just went, We'll still just have a cheek
one hundred point winning editions. They were insanely good. Thriller
won the Showdown Metal booting three goals, including a searing
dart from fifty aids of Buddy about it, I reckon
he's he's a slightly different player to Buddy Bud. Yes, yes,
(27:06):
he can seems like a heirless man. That's a weird
sort of side tangent.
Speaker 2 (27:09):
The brain capacity of a fleet you do, I'm going
to get over that.
Speaker 3 (27:16):
I don't know what that side tangent was, but someone
who was excellent in this game.
Speaker 4 (27:20):
The solely goat was disposals two goals.
Speaker 3 (27:25):
And when he puts together a performance like that, it
just kind of you kind of sit back and you go, yeah,
at Alo just have like a lot of good players cooking,
like they have got depth Galare and like if if
you stop Dawson, you stop you know Berry's popping up,
you stop lad you stop ranking. And then Sealigo puts
in a fantastic game, and they just had so many
(27:46):
contributors across the board. I mentioned Barry him alongside Keys
and Pete Ling and Neil Bullen. They all really embrace
the conditions and this one they love the wet weather football.
They're all strong tacklers, they're all players that you know,
aren't afraid to win a hard ball, really tough over
the ball, and that win saw him go top of
the ladder for all of fifteen hours.
Speaker 4 (28:07):
I went a party down in Cromeland on Holey Street.
Speaker 3 (28:10):
They're all going to fabric over there the Wolfshed as well.
Speaker 4 (28:16):
But seriously, top two finishes now for Crome, that guy.
Speaker 1 (28:21):
You need some humble pie too. I copped it in
the comments, deserved, deserved. I said on the show midweek
that they could make Top two, but they might crumble
in the finals. So you're still, oh, they did give
me some humble pie because they were buddy awesome, so
maybe not some points in.
Speaker 4 (28:37):
The word is pretty impressive, but I'll give them their credit.
And all the Crows fans in the comments fair enough
to get into me, fair enough.
Speaker 3 (28:42):
And on the port side of things, Butters had a
game my twelve clearances. He was very good, and I
did enjoy Lockie Jones's game on Foggedy kept foggedy dollars,
but then he got subbed off with.
Speaker 4 (28:51):
The cork gets injured. So Foggedy kicks a goal late.
Speaker 3 (28:54):
But Statsko, there's a player that you kind of you
want to take aim at here.
Speaker 4 (28:59):
You're not happy with him, Well, Marcus does this.
Speaker 1 (29:01):
But we've talked up mahls Bergmann pretty much the second
half of the season. He's been awesome the last month
since he resigned. He's averaging fort in disposals only two
point five clearances. That's why he's been in the midfield
a lot that's while Rosie was out. It was supposed
to be the man Rosie's output obviously, Butters is their
main guy. But the next guy coming should have been
Miles Bergman in the midfield, Jason or Francis has been
out as well. He only had fort in disposals again
(29:22):
on the weekend. I've just been really disappointed across his
last month. I puting him in the super Coaches just
cost me there as well. So yeah, no good, he
kicked the wrong way.
Speaker 4 (29:29):
I haven't got to get the right the wrong way.
If that was my point, there was one hundred points.
They lost by a point.
Speaker 1 (29:36):
Because he's got fogged a goal by kicking the wrong
way at the start of the game, then he should
be dropped.
Speaker 4 (29:41):
Silly, silly Miles.
Speaker 3 (29:43):
Look, but ultimately the next four weeks for Port is
about twenty twenty six and beyond getting games into that
next croup of players.
Speaker 4 (29:49):
So just a question to end on here.
Speaker 3 (29:51):
With all that in mind, do we think Port have
missed a trick by not having car come in earlier
in the season when they know Finals is probably out
of the equation and rather than just letting Ken coach
out the season, what do we think.
Speaker 2 (30:04):
I think, well, I think it's largely can not really
do much. I think cars actually taking the majority of
done it already. I think they've already done it behind
behind closed doors, They've done it, and Ken's just you know,
just to move the magnets a little bit.
Speaker 4 (30:17):
But I've been the face of what could.
Speaker 2 (30:19):
Be a terrible performance for Josh Carr one of his
first showdowns.
Speaker 4 (30:24):
See.
Speaker 3 (30:24):
But if they've already done it, that just confuses me
as to why they wouldn't announce it, because now it
looks if you're a port fan and you're seeing Ken Hinckley,
who is still the coach, you know, putting lollies in
his mouth. You know, like this weird stuff is like
not showing as much passionating.
Speaker 4 (30:40):
It's a bit strange, Like it's like, what are we
doing here? We're just wasting the season.
Speaker 3 (30:45):
True, let's make it official sooner when we know we
couldn't play finals, and let's actually make these games count.
Now they've got four weeks to sort of figure it
out for next year. Just seems like they've missed a
trick for mine.
Speaker 4 (30:56):
No good call, good call.
Speaker 1 (30:57):
The Crows are absolutely flying, So yeah, let me know
in the comments, can get into me some humble pie.
As Leo mentioned, Sunday Funday is the next one at
the MCG, Richmond calling it a Richmond eight goals nine
fifty seven, call got the chocolates thirteen goals fifteen ninety three.
Speaker 4 (31:10):
You gotta talk about one man, Marcus.
Speaker 2 (31:12):
There No, possibly wasn't a good like fun Sunday if
you were a spectator, because I don't know can you
do it in a cold, dark, wet and rainy.
Speaker 4 (31:22):
It was dark today. There were dark clowns to out.
Whites were on at the G for a two o'clock game.
You definitely weren't hungover bat sheets. He's a vampire.
Speaker 2 (31:38):
But I know Nick Dakos, Nakos nick three voat Daykovs
he was taking the absolute piers. He had forty two disposals,
three goals, goal the year contender.
Speaker 4 (31:49):
He was. He brought his own footy in the end.
Speaker 2 (31:51):
He's just he's just unreal and just shows why he's
one of the best players in the competition.
Speaker 4 (31:55):
And you have a pretty good stat for him. A
bit of a funny one.
Speaker 1 (31:58):
Now, Nick Dakos is the first player to have four
what do you plus disposus three plus goals since Nick d.
Speaker 4 (32:04):
He's in a league of his own lads and a
funny one. Oh thanks mate that he can laugh it
off if you want.
Speaker 2 (32:10):
And he stepped up because there were a couple of
big midfield laid out for both sides. Actually Tim Tournto
was laid out with calf tightness, Scott Pendlebrie as well
as laid out with sawness I believe. But it was
for those Richmond youngsters that did stand up. And I
want to look at Tyler Sons as well. He stepped up.
He had twenty eight disposals career high. Taj Hotton as
well from the goals Speers took a great contested master
(32:32):
for them within a kick throughout the second quarter and
yeah he ended up with two goals for the game.
But the they just kicked away in the end of
that third quarter of the Pies. But Loston was the
main man that was stopping the Pies forefront in that
first half. He had twelve intercepts in the first half
alone from sixteen disposal.
Speaker 4 (32:51):
He's so good.
Speaker 3 (32:52):
He would be all the shame back pocket this year
if they were just slightly better at Richmond.
Speaker 4 (32:57):
Could he get a little nod or is its tough start.
I'm leaning Warl he'd rather worry. We talked about that. Yeah,
I agree with that one.
Speaker 2 (33:04):
So he's one of the most underrated players in the
competition's history.
Speaker 4 (33:07):
We believe she deserves all Australian underrated on this show.
Though underrated on the show, but my check he.
Speaker 2 (33:14):
Was perhaps he felt a little bit hard done by,
felt a little bit stiff not to get a Goal
of the Week nomination last week for his for his
right foot snap and he took that personally from a
similar sort of pocket on a harder angle. He kicked
a freakish goal. The ball was knuckleballing, he was doing
all sorts and just crash had just went over the line.
So there's no day, no doubt we'll be covering that
(33:36):
goal in the Goal of the Week videos on the.
Speaker 4 (33:38):
Social A lot of good goals and marks this week, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (33:40):
There definitely has. But Collingwood they're now two games safe
inside the top four, but they do have a big
three weeks to come. Look, they just lost the two
matches prior to the Richmond game and ye look as great.
They kicked five one into goals and twenty minutes in
the third quarter sort of put it beyond like paper
over the cracks for that Richmond performance. But they have
Brisbane at the MCG, Hawthorne at the MCG and Adelaide
(34:02):
at Adelaide Oval to finish the season. Can they hold
onto that modal premiership spot or will perhaps if Adelaide
beat them in that game, will they take over?
Speaker 4 (34:09):
I reckon They'll win all three? All three? All three?
What about and laid Away? They just always find a
way against Adelaide.
Speaker 3 (34:15):
They've had a lot of close wins against they always
seem to win in a close one against the Crome,
and Brisban.
Speaker 4 (34:21):
Have been good at the G. I think I still
think will have enough and Hawthorne as well. It's the
same story, I reckon. I think.
Speaker 2 (34:26):
So just keep an eye on Collingwood over those those
next three weeks and we'll tell us a lot about Collingwood.
Now towards finals footy, you probably would rather play the
bigger teams tour the end of the season once you've
like sort of got a top four positions of nailed on. Yep,
because you can you can test out, you can throw
the magnets around. I think that's what Craig McCrae might
do no good call.
Speaker 1 (34:45):
Lads, We've got to get into the game of the round.
I can't believe I'm saying this. On Sunday at three
twenty it was Saint Keilna verse Melbourne and yes it
was the game of the round a year year which
we'll touch on. Saint Kilda fifteen goals six ninety six
defeat Melbourne thirteen goals twelve ninety lads. The Deeds were
cruising the these beds like, oh, we're going to get
a They're doing the touch show. Just can't bother doing
(35:07):
the whistle. But you can check that out on socials
actually AFL today AU. And then the Saints they complete
the greatest three quarter comeback in VFL AFL history, being
down by forty six points. They were down by seven
goals heading into the final quarter and the Saints came
our march a nine goal fourth quarter.
Speaker 4 (35:23):
How did they do that? Lads? And how did that happen?
How did they do that? I got three words for you.
Speaker 3 (35:27):
Here we go, Marcus Windhagen, God no.
Speaker 1 (35:32):
Leo actually on that shout out to Leo getting to
him in the comments again, he said wind Hager, he'd
rather win Hager over Naziah Wangane Miller, who's been one
of the best players in the competition. Nas, I just
want to read out the stats while he gets a
bit more worried about over there, Na said, thirty four disposals,
four goals, two goals for the win, the probably the
best mark of the round.
Speaker 4 (35:52):
Two really clutch goals that I knew that for him up.
Speaker 1 (35:54):
In Saints Becky to tie it up. Then the match
winning goal after the sign with eight seconds to go.
How the hell is he better than we put him anyway?
Speaker 2 (36:01):
You can put one out deep, so deep and soord
forward fifty or half.
Speaker 4 (36:05):
Back in the middle. He's unbelievable. That is like the
best thing I think I've ever seen in my life.
It was seen four flags. You'd rather watch?
Speaker 3 (36:12):
That's so bloody good. And we're going to talk about
his contract. Saints they're going to pay well one point
eight for daconing. I'm taking that money. I'm taking the
entire salary cap. I'm taking the bloody suburb of arab
and I'm giving it to Nasion Wangane Miller.
Speaker 4 (36:31):
I agree. So they cannot get rid of this bloke.
Speaker 2 (36:34):
Yeah, I'll honestly just sell your one and only Premiership
to keep him.
Speaker 4 (36:39):
Sells, Yes, because this man will deliver. He like the
who said window it was better. What an idiot he was, Dear,
I can't believe you said that. We're going to get
into him Moore. He's just trying to.
Speaker 1 (36:50):
Change this, but unbelieving. He was literally getting kickouts, running
the whole ground and then he was getting two match
winning goals. Just unbelievable. I thought, my god, a few
other guys in the clutch moments. I thought that Mason
Wood was really good in the clutch moment. He got
a late goal, got a couple of clearances as well.
Pretty underrated play. I think he just needs to find
a little bit more consistency. And then that's on the
D side. It just went to absolute crap, the six
(37:13):
six to six blunder which cost them the game. So
eight seconds left to go on, all right, most teams
don't when you.
Speaker 4 (37:18):
Get eight seconds.
Speaker 1 (37:19):
Still takes a bit of time to get a clearance
and and it was probably going to be a drawer
at that stage. Then the D's six six to six,
they've stuffed it up and the Saints get a free kick.
Speaker 4 (37:27):
The umpires didn't even know how to really pay. Everyone
started moving forward.
Speaker 3 (37:32):
They all had to wait before the umpire actually paid
the free free. So once that sort of deliberation was
happening and they had to get back into positions, I
Reckon Nas said to Marshall, I'm running here, put it
there and I'm doing the rest.
Speaker 4 (37:45):
It was great and it was a great set play.
It was a great set play.
Speaker 2 (37:48):
But I'm looking at Melbourne there and I'm like, you've
had all this time, Like it was a good thirty
to forty seconds right where everyone was figuring out what
was going on. This is where Melbourne they have to
be better and have some sort of defensive like you've
got to know what you're doing where they're probably going
to likely target the ball. And it was always you're
always going to kick it to your best kicking the
team in the si Wang name Miller, so you're gonna
be all over him in the end he takes uncontested mark.
Speaker 4 (38:10):
Yeah, oh you go. I was just that because it
was six sixty six.
Speaker 3 (38:13):
It's one of those ones where because you can't get
a spare back, you just have to stay on your mount.
You you identify your man and you just don't leave
their side.
Speaker 4 (38:20):
The DS couldn't do anything the Saints.
Speaker 1 (38:22):
Ross Lyon and the Saints going all out attack in
the last quarter. This is what they should have been
doing all season when they made the finals in twenty
twenty three. Why were they're doing They were running off
half back, playing attacking. For obviously Ross is still defensive first,
but they were playing so much more attacking when they
made the finals. But I lost a lot of lists
to changes since then. But why shouldn't they do this more?
Should they do this more?
Speaker 4 (38:39):
Markets?
Speaker 2 (38:39):
Absolutely, they were down by forty four, forty five, forty six, Yeah,
forty six points and I bet you Ross Liane was like,
you know what, we look, we're probably not going to
win this game. Just go out, have a crack in
that last quarter, see what comes from it. Have some fun.
Speaker 4 (38:52):
You know.
Speaker 2 (38:52):
Brad Hill was all last when he was kissing goals
from the boundary yep. And they were playing the best footy.
They were a great team to watch when they play
like yeah.
Speaker 4 (39:00):
No, absolutely, I can't believe they don't do that more often.
Speaker 1 (39:02):
In terms of the D's wind Tager was tagging Cozy,
but I think he shaked the tag. He was impressed
with the tackling pressure which was really really good. Nine indisposal,
seven tackles. I thought a few times he actually laid
a big tackle on wind taker knock the wind out
of himself. Impressed with Cozy's follow up and being tagged
is always tough the d There were also for three
quarters We've got to touch on that led by Maxi.
Speaker 4 (39:21):
Gorney was awesome.
Speaker 1 (39:22):
Dominated role Marshall with forty five seven in disposals, six
clearances and rivers. I thought it was one of his
best games of the season. Twenty five disposals at eighty
eight percent. He's been a bit up and down.
Speaker 4 (39:31):
Rivers with the disposals. He can always rely on his kick.
Speaker 1 (39:32):
I believe the lad's the negative side for the D's
where it all went to crap. The D's leaders, including Goodwin,
he cooked They cooked it late. Yeah, he had Cozy
and gone on the bench for extended periods. Late, he
had clarity missing that shot. He went for the checks
and kicked it on the full. If Clariy hit.
Speaker 4 (39:46):
That, that's the most clary thing. Do you remember in
that so much time? You remember in the.
Speaker 3 (39:50):
Final against Carlton where I just kicked the winning goal.
He had the shot from fifty out. He had the
hand raise like he kicked the goal and score review
said it wasn't a goal and then Blues going and
to win the game some clary result.
Speaker 4 (40:00):
Ever, Yeah, you just had to kick a point to
just get get away from the drawer as well.
Speaker 1 (40:04):
So and then obviously the poor defensive efforts, the six
six to six, everything went so wrong and at one
point it was sixteenth to three inside fifties in the
last quarter.
Speaker 4 (40:10):
So that's honestly, it's a suckable game. You reckon for Goodwin. Yeah,
for Goodwin.
Speaker 3 (40:14):
Oh wow, as you touched on Cozy being on the
bench because he didn't get he was off the ground.
I reckon with about four minutes their best player and
he came back on when there.
Speaker 4 (40:22):
Was eight seconds left. Yeah, that's at that last stoppage,
that's not good.
Speaker 3 (40:26):
That's not I know players need their rest, but you
know Saint Kilda are coming.
Speaker 4 (40:30):
You have to keep your best player on the ground. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (40:33):
It was a huge historic win for the Saints. They
actually have North Tigers and Dent in the next three.
Can they win for in a row to finish off
the season. For Saints fans, my Saints thing ever, they.
Speaker 2 (40:42):
Forget about Sydney Saint Kilda are coming for finals.
Speaker 4 (40:45):
No, they can.
Speaker 1 (40:47):
The twenty twenty six watch out twenty twenty six. I'm
not doing that said twenty twenty five was the year
you're going to lose nas and then they're going to
be bottom two. I don't say that now. We're trying
to finish out a positive. Absolutely awesome move Saints. That
was the last game of the round. So let's get
into the ladder check. Here we go the crumb as
Leo mentioned before that, enter second. We're first for fifteen hours,
but really really flying in second position. You've got Brisbane
(41:09):
in third on fifty four points, which is a probably
they've dropped down a little bit. Then you got the Cats, Hawks,
Jit ub With and Frere all on fifty two points.
This is one of the closest.
Speaker 4 (41:16):
Season a lot of jam.
Speaker 1 (41:17):
Yes, absolutely awesome. You got the Sun's forty eight points
game in hand, so basically fifty two points because they've
got to play Essendon.
Speaker 4 (41:24):
I get the Dogs forty four points.
Speaker 1 (41:25):
But the elite percentages you guys talked about as well,
so do we think the Dogs will make finals?
Speaker 4 (41:29):
Who will miss the finals? From here, lads Hawthorne. Oh really,
that's so tough.
Speaker 2 (41:33):
I think, Well, we did a lot of predicted before this,
so I had my own ladder predicted.
Speaker 4 (41:36):
I think I had Hawthorne as well. Just Hawthorne need
to win three of their last four? Is it out
of frere Hawthorne and Dogs? What did we say?
Speaker 3 (41:42):
I think it's out of Hawthorne and Dogs, not freer,
not free, not fair playing to ye, I'm gonna say
dogs might miss, but because still.
Speaker 4 (41:49):
The same dogs Hawks os are a better team.
Speaker 1 (41:50):
They're a better team, and they'll get a few big
wins end the season, I reckon. So all right, tipping results,
I believe we all had the same So we've all
got eights thanks to the Saints winning.
Speaker 4 (41:58):
It makes a look out of it. Yes, the nast
kicking those two goals like that makes it look a
little bit better.
Speaker 2 (42:02):
A three quarter time we had seven penciled into the
tipping results, so I had to change especially had to
change that.
Speaker 1 (42:07):
We have to change that. So good on the Saints
for helping us there. The lock results, Oh my god,
this is actually pretty funny, Leo.
Speaker 4 (42:13):
You want my one was Dog's win was a lock
at in that game?
Speaker 1 (42:18):
I had Darcy two plus and then I had Jeremy
Cameron two plus.
Speaker 3 (42:21):
He just got a lazy You guys should have done
Darcy and Jess a five plus a lock lock locks.
Speaker 1 (42:28):
The next couple weeks that was that was a bit
too easy, big call results. Of course, we've got to
get into that. I will touch on mine. We wanted
Doc to do well.
Speaker 4 (42:35):
He had.
Speaker 1 (42:36):
I think he had sixteen and a goal one goal
two for twenty five and a goal. Actually played pretty well, Doc,
he was. He had a lot of pressure and got
a few scoring shots on board, but he didn't get
the twenty five, so I didn't get my big goal.
Speaker 4 (42:46):
Leo rank and goalie contender, Nope, No, just watched that
the whole game. Just no, I think he come on,
I don't think it was it was.
Speaker 1 (42:54):
It wasn't on any highlights, true, true, it was when
the rains are pulled, he's got to Darcy nor to
combine and outscore the Bombers, and they certainly did that
with thirteen goals between them. There's an asterisk on this one.
I think Leo was calling out on the show that.
Speaker 3 (43:09):
The show I said it off camera that I reckon
it should beg of them. It's all big enough, but
then you two you as well, stats guys.
Speaker 4 (43:19):
And eyes.
Speaker 3 (43:20):
I said, I I will allow it, but no, it
was it was a very smart, big call.
Speaker 4 (43:23):
So I think he should get his flowers.
Speaker 1 (43:25):
Might have any looks that man on the couch the
best on ground of the week.
Speaker 4 (43:29):
Let's do it.
Speaker 1 (43:29):
Leo is always stressed about this one. And this is
your segment mate. Who were the three best players of
round twenty A joke?
Speaker 4 (43:35):
Oh okay, haven't you don't even know what my list is?
One vote.
Speaker 3 (43:41):
N de Cooss forty two and three give him the
brown line.
Speaker 4 (43:46):
Two votes.
Speaker 3 (43:47):
M Raw thirty seven disposals twenty three contested, twelve tackles,
fifteen clearances, the old quadruple double double.
Speaker 4 (43:55):
There you go.
Speaker 1 (43:55):
You just read out of quadruple double technically there, so
you've actually done well.
Speaker 3 (43:59):
And he's just like he's the best clearance playing the game.
And he gets votes because it was against a very
good side.
Speaker 4 (44:04):
Top two sides. Yeah, hum and Tom Green gone heads ahead,
best clearance. They're playing against each other soon, so we'll
see that. Yes. Three votes.
Speaker 3 (44:13):
N Wanganin Miller thirty four disposals, four goals, two match winners,
and an epic specky he did it all that.
Speaker 4 (44:22):
There's no one beating him for three votes. God, we're
renaming Marbile Stadium mill oh the Nasiah Wanganeen Miller Memorial Stadium.
He hasn't passed memorial of the performance. I don't know.
Speaker 2 (44:35):
It's not very often someone kicks eleven goals and doesn't
get a vote. That is crazy, But there were a
lot of really good individual Okay, So my.
Speaker 3 (44:41):
Reasoning with that one is, I know Dekos played a
low side in Richmond, but Decos to have forty and
three is crazy, I think insane. I think it's more
impressive than jess are kicking eleven on the worst team
in football.
Speaker 4 (44:55):
Other than West were clearly than the MO I know.
Speaker 3 (45:01):
But the lack of defensive pressure and intensity for those
key forwards I think just means they miss out eleventh.
Speaker 4 (45:07):
That's so still defend.
Speaker 1 (45:09):
I didn't want to let us know in the comments
to your best players because I think a few people
might be fined.
Speaker 3 (45:13):
I also wanted to get Celigo in there for my
crom fans, or I couldn't fit him in.
Speaker 4 (45:17):
There getting to him in the comments. He got them.
He got the middle fair enough.
Speaker 1 (45:21):
Best team of around. Full credit to the boys. Here
we go, Marcus is your one. It's usually controversial, but
here we go.
Speaker 2 (45:28):
Well, I refuse to put it in the put it
in the run street anymore because I respect.
Speaker 4 (45:31):
First of all, you boys will have a go at me.
Second of all, when I put a code in there
to like hide the team, want to crack the code because.
Speaker 3 (45:38):
You got a monkey, you just put the team backwards.
Speaker 4 (45:43):
For Sons, he puts in on the weekend, who who? Well,
one vote. I am going to go the g WS Giants.
It's a big, big sound and they're coming. Okay, I'm
play the.
Speaker 2 (45:59):
Gold O Sons absolutely demolishing the Lawnes in the Q Clash,
making their record now on the Q Clash twenty one
and eight better reading.
Speaker 4 (46:07):
And for the three votes, it has to be Saint Kilda.
Speaker 2 (46:10):
As Kilda Saints. I think it has to be largest.
You mentioned the last largest three quarter time come back
come back in history forty six points. The Saesses, I
reckon Sons are a bit stiff not to be first.
Speaker 4 (46:27):
Because they spoke to Brisbane.
Speaker 1 (46:28):
No one.
Speaker 4 (46:28):
No one thought they could smoke Brisbane. But Melbourne. They
made this round of feelings. They did.
Speaker 1 (46:34):
They did.
Speaker 2 (46:35):
This is what No one in the comments values your opinion.
Speaker 4 (46:37):
Well, that's just not true.
Speaker 1 (46:38):
If there's been a few, of course, let us know
in the comments is a good value more and.
Speaker 4 (46:42):
If that out of Marcus and Clayton, let us know.
