Speaker 2 (00:02):
What do we talk about? That's two words for you boys,
flag crom two words.

Speaker 3 (00:08):
Two words. Well, I want to know where Logan Morris
ranks amongst the best young key forwards in the game.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
Check out AFL Today Show right now.

Speaker 1 (00:18):
Round twenty one is done and dusted and welcome back

I'm your host, Liam McCallan, also known as the Stats Guy.
We've got one guy with a haircut, one guy who.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
Needs a haircut, Marcus Bars I know, Liam Ale, Hey
you going, that's yeah, I'm going all right.

Speaker 3 (00:31):
Thanks for noticing the haircut. It's good to get a
bit of recognition.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Absolutely, that's a bit rude, but also no one else
is a bit rude. Well, we're not quite at that
one million subscribers yet by the end of this week,
so there's still times. There's still times every end of
the week as recording this, there's still time is Sunday night. Yeah,
we got this, no I think.

Speaker 1 (00:48):

Is actually Ozzie Rules today. We want to hit more subscribers.
We're on the around the ak mark. We want to
hit the ten k mark by the next couple before finals.
Maybe yeah, it could be nice little yeah, look it in.
I reckon and follow all the socials as well AFL
today Au for more footy content all season long. Leave
a comment as well, because weve been loving the comments lately.

(01:10):
People even arguing or thinking, what is Leo saying?

Speaker 2 (01:12):
Let him know, let us not.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
I don't know what I'm saying, so let me know
exactly right, all right?

Speaker 1 (01:16):
Around twenty one results, let's get right into it. Thursday
night at Marvel Stadium, the rivals clashed Western Bulldogs nineteen
goals ad in one hundred and thirty two absolutely demolished
GWS six goals eight forty four. Now, Leo and Marcus, actually,
I think you guys have to eat some big old
humble pie. I was the only one to tip the dogs.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
What are you guys doing? And Marcus as well, what
are you doing about? You're tipping them for the whole thing?
What are you doing?

Speaker 3 (01:39):
Look, I definitely do I was really keen on GWS
in this one. But Marcus, you've said for weeks now,
the Giants are going to make the Grand Final. What
do you have to say for yourself? In fact, apologize,
I'm apologize to the fans that listen to you every
dying word.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
Well, am I wrong yet? So far? At least there's
still a chance to make the Grand.

Speaker 3 (01:59):
Fair eighty eight points?

Speaker 2 (02:02):
Eight eight points can't be went in the flag after
losten by eighty eight points. Surely no. But you talk
about like it's this game was the equivalent of like
getting pans at school and then you feel embarrassed, and
it happened to the best of us. You get that revenge,
k you get that glow up and look at them.
They come back better than ever, and that's what GPS
are going to do.

Speaker 3 (02:21):
I do not believe you're one bit mate. They got
absolutely dominated in the contest. It was pure contest domination.
I don't know if you've always heard, but Connor Ryden
was actually miked up for this game when there's a
little clip of him saying sort of I don't know
what stage of the game it was, but they were
getting pumped and he said, how's it going to end?
So quick? I think he said it to Locky ash
and I'll tell you why, Connor, you got belted in

(02:43):
the contest plus fifty one contest the possession is insane
plus seventy inclearances in favor of the Doggies, and at
one stage the Dogs had thirty two straight possessions. That
does not happen in that How does that even make sense?
Where did gw It's just like, for like ten seconds
of play, well, what are they doing? And it was

(03:05):
really laud off Timm English, I reckon the big ruckman.
He played outstanding, twenty disposals, two goals, fourteen score involvements.
And when you got him playing so well, it makes
the mids job so easy. So you've got Bond playing well,
liber playing well, Kennedy I thought was really good in
the midfield, Richard Sanders I thought had a really nice game.
It makes their life easier. And then when they play

(03:26):
well and they're kicking it inside fifty you got Darcy
and Norton kicking ten goals between them. Oh my god,
they were playing insanely well. And Norton with five goals.
He's now got twenty seven goals from the last six weeks. Crazy,
he's third in the common that needs to be studied.
He was going to be dropped. A lot of dogs.
Fans like put him in the back line. He's third

(03:47):
in the common, third in the bloody Coleman. Do we
feel Do we feel confident now that if it came
down to a big final Aaron Norton can step up
and have a big score. Is this just a purple patch?
What do we think? No?

Speaker 2 (04:01):
I think he can. He's showing like he's great in
the air. I think a lot of he gets the chances.
I feel like he always gets the chances. He's just
not accurate in front of goal. On Over the past
couple of months he has been.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
I think a lot of dogs players are confidence space
like English has got a lot of confidence back.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
Last couple of months, he's been awesome. Norton. He's got
a bit of strutt in his step.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
People are going, oh, we can't bag his headband anymore
because now he's rocking it.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
He's actually kicking goals. I reckon he can perform at any stage.

Speaker 3 (04:24):
So twenty seven goals in the last six weeks, when
you think about it, he's kicked fifty one for the year,
So in a third of the season he's kicked half
his goals. That is insane. But Stat's guy there was
actually there was a dog's goal sneak that you want
to shout out in this one. Who is a bit
of a barometer for him.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
He is, So the dogs are actually nine and zero
when Lockie McNeil kicks two plus goals. He was such
a rogue set. That's the first time we've mentioned lock
McNeil on this show. I reckon somebody Mark has just
learned who he was. Yeah, if he's kicked two plus goals, yeah,
nine occasion nine And know when he kicks two plus
they absolutely laugh and they dominate when that.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
And I've got another weird one for you as well.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
I don't know if you guys saw that one of
the Center Bout attendances, the Dogs had a midfield of Riley, Riley, Riley,
and Rory at one.

Speaker 3 (05:06):
Point about that just what do you think? There's three
Riley Riley's gotcha? I was good.

Speaker 4 (05:14):
They're all spelled differently as well. That way, I thought
it was just more interesting that was three Riley. That
was that is that is a big quick It is
a big no no. I'm sounding sarcastic now, but I
don't actually mean it.

Speaker 2 (05:28):
It is a quinck, just a bad.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
It's still getting I know nothing, I know nothing, but
it is simple for the Dogs. It's ruckman, win ball, midfield,
wind bowl, kick the tall dudes kick goals and that
sort of blight on them. That's body good.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
He's got a cape man on the couch.

Speaker 3 (05:50):
Is a technical genius. He's like, we got English, the
meads and the forwards.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
That's all we need.

Speaker 3 (05:57):
That's all you need, that's all you need.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
When we saw one another ten years.

Speaker 3 (06:01):
Mate, I'll sign him on. He doesn't give a bloody manager. First,
Adam Kingsley, I want to talk about the Giants. Adam
Kingsley and his presser. He said it was the lowest
point like on field that he has seen at the
club in his time. Those are damning words. You're going
into a final series. What you're three weeks away from finals,

(06:22):
you're eighth on the ladder. You've had some great football played.
What do we make of that?

Speaker 2 (06:27):
It's not local coaches cool it out for bad football.
It's not like or we were out skilled in this area.
We weren't good enough in this area. But to put
it out there and say basically hanging on the players
really in a different sense. That's what he's trying to say.
I'm all for it.

Speaker 1 (06:42):
Yeah, and I don't want coaches and stuff to mince
there were just be honest and go Hopefully this is
just a one off. I think Dimmer did the other week,
so they got passed pretty much. Yeah, as long as
they bounce back next week, which they probably should against
North Melbourne, then it's all right.

Speaker 3 (06:55):
I reckon they will. But they're going to be without
Jesse Yeogan, so he said to miss next week. It's
maybe a few question marks over his fitness now, hasn't
played the fall amount of games this season, just heading
into finals. I think it's one to watch because he
is critical to them.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
No good call.

Speaker 1 (07:09):
The Dogs are still in ninth, but they could still
shake up the finals. Do we believe that as well
as they could still shake up.

Speaker 2 (07:14):
The finals if they make the final Dogs.

Speaker 3 (07:16):
Yeah, sorry I zoned out for a second.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
Yes, yeah, yes, all right, let's get into Friday night forty.
I believe this was the game of the round at
the Adelaide Oval. Adelaide fifteen goals eleven one hundred and
one defeated Hawthorne thirteen goals nine eighty seven.

Speaker 2 (07:30):
What a bloody game this was, Marcus if sure was.
It was by far the game of the round. It
had absolutely everything swings and roundabouts, from five consecutive goals
to eight consecutive goals to get towards that, and just
the elite pressure from the very first iron. It was
finals like I reckon yeah. Adeleate actually started fairly well
in the first few minutes, but it was Hawthorne who

(07:50):
took their chances and they continued with that throughout the
rest of the first quarter. Kicking the first five goals
was like a King's of Leon song. It was bleepers
on fire. That was good.

Speaker 5 (08:01):
And then Adelaide great, I love ba Adelaide. Adelaide kicked
the next eight goals in that game and they actually
outscored them, outscored the Hawks to zero in the second quarter.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
Difference. Wasn't it What a way to turn that bad
style around. But you created that gap so you it
wasn't like you couldn't come back from it, and it's
exactly what they did Hawthorne. They kicked the next five
goals and it was just gunstant warning back to clock
really like on a lead. He just doesn't just didn't
seem to drop a mark so good. Yeah, it was great,
beautiful set shot as well. But I want to I

(08:35):
want to jump in Marcus.

Speaker 1 (08:36):
You did say I think you're going to talk about
who can outscore the Crows. You did say that the
Hawks would struggle to outscore the Crows in this one.
And it was a shootout and it ended in that
sort of game. The Crows just scored a little bit more.

Speaker 3 (08:46):
The Crows.

Speaker 1 (08:46):
You just lock in for one hundred points every game,
you believe, Yeah, yeah, hundred percent.

Speaker 2 (08:50):
And if we look for an absolute shootout, you're going
to look at X factor goals from your stars. And
I believe that Adelaide full of them. And how good
was Ranking?

Speaker 3 (09:00):
Rankin's gun felt like as well Hardwick who was on
and I tried everything. It's just Ranking is just too good.
And yeah he's goal in that last quarter just when was.

Speaker 2 (09:09):
A level ten minutes ago. Left foot and you're told
to push a player towards the boundary. The Hawks did well.
They could sort of crroud in towards the boundary. Left
foot snap got unbelievable, unbelievable, but it was also Hawthorne.
They also had some chances laid on to keep them alive.
Massimo Dan Brouzier, friend of the show. Check out the interview,
if we haven't already, I was got it with that

(09:29):
because he missed a golden opportunity, as well as a
couple of others. But it was actually text. It was
the veteran star who came in Clutch and war Hawthorne
were missing those at their end. He was kicking them
from the boundary, was keeping him fifty meter out. He's
still he's still a barometer in the competition, one of
the biggest barometers in the competition. But the game also

(09:49):
had a little bit of controversy, didn't it. In that
final quarter. A couple of interesting calls, obviously the ranking,
the ranking fifty meter penalty for the touch that massimode
Brozio touched ball when he marked it, and then everyone
thought they played on so we got the goal from there.
And then at the other round the very next scuse
the very next goal in the game, Uh gun someone Yeah,

(10:10):
Mitch Lewis took the advantage and hit the posts. He missed,
but the umpire didn't say brought it back. My god.

Speaker 3 (10:17):
It was a little bit of that over shambo. Yeah,
it was, but it's sort of canceled out.

Speaker 2 (10:21):
It was good for the game, and it canceled out
like that was good for the game as in like
it sort of fit into the chaoticness of the game
as well.

Speaker 3 (10:27):
Okay, don point, thank.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
You talk about the chaoticness show the sea of this show.
It also happened off the field as well, because Guinea,
I don't know what it is about Adelaide fans, and
wanted to get flipped off in the tunnel, but he
pulled out. He's in a Baslonka and he gave him
the bird a little bit after you know how you're

(10:51):
going with the ears, and Text made sure of text
doesn't have to do I can't talk either, but to
do this. Text was standing there in the background like.

Speaker 3 (11:02):
He memorized that moment. And I think it was fitting
that Guinea did the bird this week because he did
the plane a few weeks a plane.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
Is he superman? Well, there's other players. There's other players
that are playing like it as well. In that Adelaide defense,
which I thought was fantastic in particular, I thought Wayne
Miller was probably the best, one of the best defenders
on the ground along with all Australian bound. Joshi Warrel
last quarter was awesome. Yeah, it was. But William, you

(11:32):
have someone else that you want to prose.

Speaker 1 (11:33):
Yeah, we don't often talk about Hugh Bond. He came
back into the side for mcallaney. He was really really good,
just these eight games of his career, they're gone on
all Australian for Dilan Moore and he shut him down
and Dila Moore. I think we talked about this earlier
that Delamore dominated earlier, was just looking really solidly adjusted,
but then he adjusted really well Bond and they kept
into one goal and then just filled in Mcallanney's form
that he's been great or you huband just comes in

(11:55):
and just shows how good Adelaide are. He got all
these guys coming through the system and they can do
a job.

Speaker 3 (11:59):
His nickname was going to be double O seven, doesn't it.

Speaker 2 (12:03):
It was good. It was good. Now on the flip side,
we'll go to Hawthorne now and Leo, as a resident
Hawthorne fan, I want to ask you because it was
it was talked about the four tools. Well, you said
which three tools you wanted and they went with four.
They went with all of them. Did it work because
it was actually the small forwards that were getting the
job done, particularly in that first quarter.

Speaker 3 (12:22):
Look, I don't even think we saw enough of the
toll forward line in action. I think Hawthorne going inside
fifty were a little bit handball happy, which played into
what the Smalls wanted. I think there were times that
we could have kicked it more and given those tools
a bit more of a look. But I mean, in general,
I still think Lewis has to be the one to
make way. I think what he offers at ground level
is significantly less compared to chol and Dan Gunston's in

(12:44):
great goalkicking form. I think Lewis has to be the
one to make way. Still, I'm still on that opinion.

Speaker 2 (12:51):
Was it a kelsher Deer who was the one who
was subjected?

Speaker 3 (12:54):
Get the young boy in the game.

Speaker 2 (12:56):
Get him in there.

Speaker 3 (12:57):
He's a very and it is a barometer.

Speaker 2 (12:59):
He's a bron When the vibes are high on the ground, like,
you know he's going to step up his big, big
game play. He's got that in him. But to make
matters even worse for Hawthorne, I know they've lost will Day.
For the remainder of the season. Cue the tears.

Speaker 3 (13:11):
I'm just going to try and cry and camera a
YouTube apology video.

Speaker 2 (13:18):
Will. But results aren't going their way either, which which
doesn't help the Hawks win in terms of other games.
Does that mean they're going to miss out in finals?
Got to cope enough to answer this question. It's actually
really sad that Will Days out. So I do feel
because he just came back. He just came back.

Speaker 3 (13:36):
I think you might miss final.

Speaker 2 (13:38):
I agree with Leo.

Speaker 1 (13:38):
I think they could miss finals because Will Day when
he comes back in he's their best player. I thought, Oh,
they've got a chance to win a few more games
with him in the side. Take him out, you've got
a tough run as well. I think they might miss out.

Speaker 2 (13:48):
They might maybe to appease the Crows fans towards the
top of ladder, then the top of the ladder. Yeah,
that's crazy. And are they want to ask you boys?
Are they the best team in the competition right now
and deserved flag favorites. I assume they've jumped Collingwood in
that list yet come to now.

Speaker 1 (14:08):
I'm the sads guy and they're winning in all statistical categories,
so I gotta jump on the adelaide.

Speaker 2 (14:12):
Batter, do you seth Campbell a back flag. I don't
know if they'll win the flag, but right now they
are the best team of the comp.

Speaker 3 (14:18):
They do not have a weakness from mine right now,
I think. And you look at when the momentum shifted
on the weekend twice and you've got you know, John
Dawson stepping up his second quarter, He's goals in the
second quarter. Elite. They know how to wrestle back that momentum.
And it's also proven by the fact mclaney's been a
great player for him and good sides just have players
come into that position and do the role to perfection,

(14:40):
and Hubon did that. I think it's they are well
in the frame to win this premiership.

Speaker 2 (14:47):
Agreed. It was a good win for the Crows, but
makes life a little bit harder for Hawthorne if they
want to make the finals. Yeah, it's going to be interesting.
So flag Crumbs on voice flag chromb is on if
the comments will be absolute flag crumbs in the comments? Absolutely?

Speaker 1 (15:00):
All right, let's get into Saturday at a Marvel Stadium
A Melbourne versus West Coast Melbourne twenty one goals, thirteen,
one hundred and thirty nine smashed West Coast eight goals
eight fifty six. Now that we wanted a response from
the D's leaders, they went just capitulated in that last
quarter last week against the Saints, and although it was
against the Eagles, I think they really stepped up and
did really well. They were very vocal. I thought they
had a much clearer plan even that they didn't do

(15:22):
any six six six stuff up. So that's always very
nice watching his D's fans and Max Gorney just sets
the tone every week for them. He had twenty one disposals,
twenty nine hitouts and a goal, just a perfect all
round game for him.

Speaker 2 (15:32):
Do we think Gorney is.

Speaker 1 (15:34):
Still an All Australian chance? Obviously, I'm still putting number
one ruck is Grundy, yep. But Gorne has been unbelievable.
I think he can fit on my bench.

Speaker 3 (15:41):
You want two ruckmen, yep. I'm sticking with one for mine.

Speaker 2 (15:45):
Two ruckmen. You're the right too, yeah, here the right
Gordy and Vigo je underrated with knowledge underrated, which is
namb I think gorn I think you agree you can
sneak in there.

Speaker 1 (15:57):
He's been unbelievable. Talking about the other leaders as well,
you got the vice captain Jack Viney. I think it
was his best game of the season. Twenty five disposals,
thirteen clearances, twenty contested.

Speaker 2 (16:06):
You know, he's done pretty nice bounce back.

Speaker 3 (16:08):
Yeah, he took that six six six blundid piece did
last week because he was that fault in that for
mine should have been on Camerini. I actually reckon he
probably watched that back every day up until this game
and memorized it in his head. He couldn't get to sleep,
and then he put in this performance and he's made
it right.

Speaker 2 (16:23):
Yeah, thirteen clearances is a good effort.

Speaker 1 (16:25):
It was actually his two hundred and thirty fourth game
as well, which passes his dad's game Todd Viney for
the Demons as well, So good on him, and he
did wilder one up his dad in that one as well.
It was a ten goal at third quarter was the
difference from the D's and they finished strong with five
goals to two in the last quarter as well, much
different to last week. He had Fridge with four goals.
Harvey Langford was electric. He had three goals. We haven't
talked about him probably enough as well. He's been really good.

(16:46):
This young crop is so good this year.

Speaker 2 (16:48):
He really hasn't. Apparently he's the one to look at
his stats after the game. I believe it was him.
I think AFL posted a little short and he'll be
happy with that three goals. Who's the most on this
panel that would check their stats after.

Speaker 3 (16:59):
Again read the comments.

Speaker 2 (17:00):
I don't know. I think it's definitely you because because
you pull up your basketball highlights midweek, that's true, and
there not many highlights.

Speaker 3 (17:07):
A lot a low guy all stats guy does on
a Tuesday's refresh the YouTube show to see him in
the comments he's gotten.

Speaker 2 (17:13):
So no, it's the views, it's the views. Leo has
also shouted out his own Instagram that is true.

Speaker 3 (17:18):
And shout out yours Marcus still single over there if.

Speaker 1 (17:24):
You want some hate, just to shout out another shout
out to Jay Kelly as well.

Speaker 2 (17:28):
Revenge game. Obviously, the Eagles delisted him and then he
just dominate. Told him they geez, they colored him. Yet
these debut after it was delisted by the Eagles. Didn't
realize he had hop sluds he had. He was absolutely bunnies.

Speaker 1 (17:38):
He was big marks two goals, thirteen disposal, seven marks
and two big hangars were two of his marks, so
really happy to see him thriving. We talked about on
the Midwek Show as well. There was no Harley read
McCarthy and marriage were really strong. I thought in the
midfield fifty.

Speaker 2 (17:51):
Five disposal seven clearances probably needed a few more clearances
to keep up with the likes of Clayton Oliver, but
they were really solid.

Speaker 1 (17:56):
And I thought Chester was really strong on the wing.
You got a goal from the wing seven. I suppose
he was pretty solid. But the Demons, they were two classes.
He played with confidence even after last week and got
their the Marvel Stadium curse off their back. So think
go off that it was important, important for them to
win this one, and they bumped up the ladder and
I didn't expected at the moment.

Speaker 2 (18:12):
Yea twelfth Now that's not too bad.

Speaker 1 (18:14):
That's not too bad, all right, Next one, let's get
into Saturday at People's First Stadium. Gold Coast Richmond, Gold
Coast sixteen goals eleven, one hundred and seven Richmond two
goals eleven and he's got twenty three markets.

Speaker 3 (18:25):
I hear the score didn't really paint the picture in
this one.

Speaker 2 (18:28):
Coast, Gold Coast lots Richmond, not many next te no
Gold Coast, so they did brush Richmond aside with ease.
They get them goals in the first half, which has
been a bit of a thing for Gold Coast, hasn't it.
It's a bit of a freaky Friday when.

Speaker 3 (18:45):
We're Damien hardware, twitter voodooism going on.

Speaker 2 (18:52):
It. They did it to Collingwood, and they did it
to them, and now they've done it to the Tigers.
And there were records being broken here, there and everyone where,
and not the records that you want to be broken.
But for Gold Coast it was because it was the
least ever points that they've conceded in the club's history.
It's a good setting only those twenty three points and
two goals from Richmond in the game of footy. It

(19:13):
is Richmond's lowest ever score against Gold Coast and their
biggest ever loss against Gold Coast as well, So that's
not great reading against the expansion club, but it was
also in overall history, the seventh lowest score in Tiger's
club history. Is that that's keep going for him. He's

(19:33):
not great, that'll be I do. That was good, but
we still need to talk about this man and we
need to give him an Australian jacket and that man
is Nick Lost and the team at another eleven intercepts,
and he's now leading the competition in that stat I
think his whole career has gone underrated. Do you boys

(19:55):
have him in that Australian team assume with Warrell in
the back pockets?

Speaker 3 (19:58):
Yeah, I've got war one back pocket. I've got Boston
in the other back pocket. That does mean thank you.
They have been superbed this season, patrolling the airways, intercepting
the ball. I think they deserve the plaudits.

Speaker 1 (20:10):
Boston's had ten times more chances to take an intercept
mark than anyone else in the competition.

Speaker 2 (20:17):
Fifties have they conceded in this game? Thousand?

Speaker 1 (20:20):
Yeah, but he has ten times more chances. Get Mark
Keene in the same team. I don't care if he's
a full Get Boston out of there. He's a very
good player and definitely some other years in his career
probably could have been all.

Speaker 2 (20:32):
Oh he's backtracking already, but not this season. It's come
down there so much. I reckon any back pocket or
fullback could have taken eleven intercent marks in this game?
Could you have in the al I'm out of the
yet I'm not sure about that call. But you could
tell the Tigers that the young Tigers are done and
went out of legs towards the end of the season,

(20:52):
but they still got some games to come, which you
know they might fancy. Yep, but how about is he
in trouble for that poor that the poor little umpire.
He was getting sad the elephant of Jared Witz. I felt,
I felt like a little thumbtack just getting squashed. He was,
he was the ants and and uh which he was

(21:15):
the foot. But in all seriousness, in all seriousness, he
is make in trouble for sort of insinuating that contact.

Speaker 1 (21:26):
I think he was just a clumsy ruck man. It
didn't look great, but probably just a clumsy ruck and.

Speaker 3 (21:30):
The bounce wasn't great to work on that umpire.

Speaker 2 (21:32):
Yeah, forgetting squished, poor little hands. There was no Jared
wins foot. The most we'll get to a nickname for
another player later in the show, but okay, the most
pleasing thing for Damion Hardick in this in this one,

(21:53):
I believe, is the likes of Ethan Reid, Farah mac Andrew.
All finding for mac Andrew was great. He kicked a
couple of goals. That's twenty four disposals and Humphrey was
added again three goals. He continues his great core kicking form.

Speaker 1 (22:05):
I'm three, Hey Leo, quick question.

Speaker 2 (22:09):
Do you know what the ASEX means?

Speaker 3 (22:11):
Do you mean AFLX?

Speaker 1 (22:13):
No, mate, the ASX the Australian Stock Exchange.

Speaker 3 (22:16):
Oh man, I'm absolutely clueless with that stuff.

Speaker 2 (22:19):
Well, lucky for you.

Speaker 1 (22:20):
Stockeed is a free website that gives you everything you
need to know about punting stocks on the AX.

Speaker 3 (22:24):
Damn, that sounds pretty good. Where do I check them out?

Speaker 1 (22:27):
Check it out via stockare dot com, dot you and
it's even easy for your little p brain to understand.

Speaker 3 (22:32):
Damn.

Speaker 1 (22:33):
Let's get into Saturday at the SCG Sydney taking you
on Essendon Sydney nine goals fourteen sixty eight Essendon seven
goals twelve.

Speaker 2 (22:40):
Fifty four actually kept in the game this one, Esmond, Well.

Speaker 3 (22:43):
This certainly was a game of football that happened. Swans
really just did what they had to do against the Bombers.
We got to start on is a grundy thirty nine
disposals which I want to give you a shout out.
Stats guy. You you said thirty plus in the preview show.
I love what that is, my big I was very

(23:04):
surprised by that. So he nowed that thirty two thirty inclearences,
twenty two contested possessions. What a mammoth game from.

Speaker 2 (23:11):
Him, and a big whopping two hundred super coach points. Yeah,
super coach points.

Speaker 1 (23:14):
Also the most disposals ever in an AFL VFL game
by a ruckman, passing Dean Cox.

Speaker 2 (23:20):
With thirty six. So he's done that by three.

Speaker 3 (23:21):
Damn. What a performance from Grundy it is. Actually, it's
so it's so good that Peg Grundy has been back
this year. Yeah, he went in a bit of alua.
The last couple of years he was that Melbourne for
some stupid reason. True, but back in the prime Grundy
days at collin Wood, it was so good to watch it.

Speaker 2 (23:37):
Well, I think I think it's the tiktoks are down
with it. He's enjoying he's enjoying life down at Sydney.
He's making more tiktoks than he did off life. He
loves it.

Speaker 3 (23:45):
He absolutely doesn't. Someone that loved his well that I
loved his game is Errol brilliant in his hundreds Yeah,
thirty and a goal. But I want to have a
serious chat with Errol. What are you doing mate? He
had the chance to give Grundy a fortieth touch and
he went to kick it now and he was actually
very sad in the interview and Dicko asked him sorry.
Ben Dixon asked him. He was very sad about that

(24:08):
because he wanted He was taught not to give it
to ruckman, not to handle the ruckman.

Speaker 2 (24:12):
But if he's on the room, the room. But if
I give you a fortieth touch, you hate it.

Speaker 3 (24:18):
I do hate it because that's said, that's unconsensual that one.
I also want to give a shout out to James Jordan,
who was superb at tagging ZERI it to nineteen disposals,
just giving him the clamps. That always goes a long
way to beating Essendon. And for the Bombers, they sort
of threatened to come back. I mean they did push
in the last quarter. It just felt like the Swans

(24:39):
had it covered though. I do want to give a
shout out to their fourteenth debutante Jaden new Es.

Speaker 2 (24:45):
The boy.

Speaker 3 (24:45):
He went with Tommy Papley and he even stepped over
him at one stage. I think when Papley had a
fresh area. At the fresh.

Speaker 2 (24:52):
Area, he stepped over bound, he stepped over I.

Speaker 3 (24:55):
Also want to call that he's at back to back weeks.
He's been called and then he has he has a
debut on rookie. Step over in him at his home
ground and show him no respect is an absolute aura delet.

Speaker 2 (25:12):
Great Tom the aura deleter.

Speaker 3 (25:14):
I'm not having a couple of good weeks happily. But
you did like Newan's performance?

Speaker 2 (25:17):
Did I take eighteen jans?

Speaker 3 (25:19):
Oh? Maybe sports? He got five disposals eighteen times five
teams getting that many.

Speaker 2 (25:26):
Disposal I think that's good math math.

Speaker 3 (25:28):
I have nine straight licenses for the Bombers. Not looking good?
Is it? Stats good?

Speaker 2 (25:32):
No? Not good at all.

Speaker 3 (25:33):
We've got a bad stat Sorry to make him read
it out?

Speaker 1 (25:36):
Yeah, do you want to read it? You always make
me read out bad norse stats.

Speaker 2 (25:40):
The first time since nineteen o seven that Essendon have
had a goals quarter in seven street games. I don't
even know if them might pick that one up. A
bad time since nine and seven and they've had a
bad time now. So no good from the Bombers.

Speaker 3 (25:52):
Sydney.

Speaker 1 (25:53):
They're finishing off the season really well. Another good win there,
but the Bombers hold on strong. We want a quarter hellah, yeah,
they want Oh my god. There we go Saturday night
at the MCG. This is another good game, Colling. We're
taking on Brisbane. Colling with ten goals five sixty five.
They lose to Brisbane fourteen goals eight ninety two. Now
that's Brisbane. They beat the Pies for the first time

(26:13):
of the MCG since twenty fourteen. That one surprised me
a little bit there. And now that's five straight wins
at the G which is perfect for final time.

Speaker 2 (26:20):
They're confident of the MCG, which is what you need
on Grand Final day. Of course. Logan Morris, we've been
loving him. We've been loving the rise of the young.

Speaker 1 (26:27):
Forwards this season, and you got to talk about him.
Another huge game at career high six goals. I've got
some good stats for you. I don't often know. I
need to bring more stats.

Speaker 3 (26:34):
Here we go.

Speaker 1 (26:35):
He's the only time he has kicked four plus goals
this season. Three occasions have all been against top eight sides,
which is a pretty good effort.

Speaker 2 (26:41):
And he's lifting in the big game. Good game player.
Quick question for you, has he been the best young
forward in the competition this season. Also let us know
in the comments if he has Sam Darci and Cadaman
or Thriller.

Speaker 3 (26:54):
A lot of good names, isn't it.

Speaker 2 (26:56):
I'd say second to Thriller. Would you guys agree with that? Sam?

Speaker 3 (27:00):
Oh? I think we're gonna let let us know in
the comments of that one.

Speaker 1 (27:05):
Maybe we do it short on that. You can still
I'm still I'm Darsy dussy. Yeah, fair, I'm gonna get
through who you going.

Speaker 2 (27:12):
I'm waiting for them, the people to decide. Oh that's
boring democracy.

Speaker 1 (27:16):
Another stat on him as well as the youngest player
to kick six at the MCG since Buddy in two
thousand and six.

Speaker 2 (27:21):
So that's a really good one for Hawks fans as well.
That was a good day. Yeah, he's not that you remember.

Speaker 3 (27:26):
Five years old, I didn't even know what a football was.
Oh wow.

Speaker 1 (27:29):
And lads on the MIDWEK Show, we predicted Daykos versus
Ashcroft stat lines the brotherly stack lines combined. Daekos has
had fifty eight disposals and a goal and the Ashcrofts
had fifty disposed fifty two disposals, zero goals, but they
got the w So who are we taking in this one.

Speaker 3 (27:43):
Well, I think if they got the w I think
I'll take the Ashcraft.

Speaker 2 (27:45):
Or I thought Nick had a fantastic game, especially in
the first half, and almost for that alone, they were
They were all very good. Yeah, I can't really seem
to split them. Yeah, I think Leva wasn't as efficient.
Will was better than Levi in this one, and then
notes and Josh. Josh pretty sold as we'll put him in.

Speaker 3 (28:00):
The comparison is the Thief of Joy though, absolutely that
was very profound.

Speaker 1 (28:04):
That was very profound, eighty two thousand of the d
He's still an awesome, massive game. He had intensity throughout,
great tackling pressure. I thought from especially in the four
from Schultz, I really liked that side of his game.
He always had it at Frio. He's brought that to
the Pies. He had seven tackles, which was really good.

Speaker 3 (28:18):
I thought he was Collingwood's best player or one of
the best players.

Speaker 2 (28:21):
Yeah, no, good call.

Speaker 1 (28:22):
And Leo, you always talk about Nick Deakos's bodyguard.

Speaker 2 (28:25):
That is, of course ned Long.

Speaker 1 (28:27):
Just nine disposals the four clearances, but not a single
effective disposal.

Speaker 2 (28:32):
They dropped Tom Mitchell for him. Was that the right decision.

Speaker 3 (28:34):
Well, I've seen a lot of Pies fans complain saying
they prefer Tom Mitchell over ned Long And look, I
can understand the argument when you read out not a.

Speaker 1 (28:42):
Single effective disposal, he had seven tackles, which is but
I'd give him a weeks to try and make it
up like he's in the team for the tackling.

Speaker 3 (28:50):
He's in the team, so Dekos can do his own
thing heat like it can't be going at zero percent efficiency,
like you just can't do that. But he doesn't need
to be going at anything like of a seventy five
percent or seventy percent, like if he if he had
twelve disposals at fifty six percent efficiency, has six tackles,
four clearances. That's his job, so you got to honor that.

Speaker 1 (29:11):
Would you say there's enough players at the piers like
ball magnets, like it's used to be a bold magan.
I don't know if he is as much now, but
he's not that efficient either with the ball, So I
like the argument he's going to get more tackles no
longer as well.

Speaker 3 (29:22):
And I think physically like Mitchell is a he is smaller.
That's not like a bad thing. About Mitchell, but when
you look at their midfield, there are like Dekos is
a smaller frame, Josh Jacos is as well. Ned Long
is a big boy. He's one hundred ninety five centimeters. Yeah,
it's a very it's a point of difference in the midfield.
So I still think to stick with him, But Pies
fans don't agree with me, so I might get bashed.

Speaker 2 (29:44):
I feel like they need the defensive sided midfielder of
Ned Long over a collector.

Speaker 1 (29:49):
I feel like they've gotten that already. Yeah, they've got
enough balld magnets.

Speaker 2 (29:52):
I agree with that. Good good call. Ads.

Speaker 3 (29:54):
I say bald magnet because Tom Mitchell's bald.

Speaker 2 (29:56):
Oh no, but that's okay, that's not a bad one.
And Still saw a Bottom who's in that middle.

Speaker 1 (29:59):
Yes, talking about steel Sidebottom, he thought stronger. I thought
he was a bit a loan and attack. He had
twenty one disposals, two goals and he was the only
multiple goalkicker for the Pires in this one, which was
the worry. That's that's when still Side bottoms you're leading goalkicker,
you're not going to win a game of foot.

Speaker 2 (30:13):
Sorry to say. Still he's a great player, great player.
But you need to get three.

Speaker 3 (30:16):
Fiftieth on Thursday. Oh, I reckon, that's a big that
is a huter.

Speaker 2 (30:19):
We'll be there. We'll be there.

Speaker 3 (30:20):
That one actually will.

Speaker 2 (30:21):
There'll be a great game against the Wall.

Speaker 1 (30:22):
You remembering that one, yes, But the difference was the
Lion's Elite Finals. Like third quarter, they just turned on
the Jets twenty to nine in the clearances, four goals
to zero for the quarter in that third quarter, that
premiership quarter. And I just want to do a quick
shout out to Henry Smith back into the side. His
first three disposals, he had three goals and I think
you're on the end of the five disposals. But he
just made the most of his opportunities. Bit Ben Rong

(30:43):
Clarke against the Hawks the days, So I was.

Speaker 3 (30:46):
I was at this game when he first got the
mark or three kick. I was like, oh, hip, what
he's going to miss And I'm like, wait a second,
that's not in but it does look a bit like him.
Yeah kickstraight, Yeah, great, he kicked it. I was like,
that can't be hip, Henry Smith. That makes sense now,
it's very composed.

Speaker 1 (31:01):
I really like that one, and like they're gonna finish
on Collingwood. They've lost three of their last four games.
They obviously won against Richmond, but the other three they've lost.
Did they peak at the wrong time? And are we
worried about the Pies from here lads?

Speaker 3 (31:13):
What do you reckon? Marcus?

Speaker 2 (31:15):
Slightly? Slightly and because I think there's a lot of
good teams in the competition playing better football at the moment.
But I'm not too worried. They're going to have a
double chance Callingwood. They're probably gonna yeah, yeah, I think
they finished. If they lose to Hawthorne and Adelaide, that
is going to be huge.

Speaker 3 (31:33):
I think. I think I think they'll beat Hawthorne. So
that's why I'm not worried. But maybe just get back
to me at ten thirty pm on a Thursday night.

Speaker 2 (31:41):
Because yeah, your voice message if.

Speaker 3 (31:44):
You do, send me a special message if they if
they do lose to Hawthorne, could they be Sydney too
point on twenty twenty four, Well.

Speaker 1 (31:53):
But they still make the Grand Final. Nah, I wouldn't
go that the Pies make the Grand Final. They too
experienced to smashed. They could lose it, but they will
have a close game. I still think they were in
the flag the Pies. I'm still yeah, I still think
they make Grand Fornal. Are you still win the call
him with gibuous. Oh my god, I'm generous, gibirous.

Speaker 2 (32:12):
But Adelaide some hell, somehow will get knocked out.

Speaker 1 (32:16):
Okay, there's yeah, there's three teams in the Grand Final
according to this man. Anyway, we've got the Brisbane lines
with a massive winner. The Pies were just going to
keep an eye on the Pies. That's what we'll touch
on Sunday. Fun Day is the next one at Marvel Stadium,
Saint Kilda taking on North Melbourne. I was at this one.
Saint Kilda eleven goals twelve seventy eight, North Melbourne ten goals,
nine sixty nine.

Speaker 2 (32:33):
My beloved ruse.

Speaker 1 (32:34):
We got so close again, but Saints get the job
done in front of a decent, crowded marble to The
typical story isn't at Stasco Second Kilda. It is they've
won two in her own now and they did it
in front of a good crowd. I think we would
just say it was thirty three, three thousand. I think
everyone was there for Nas obviously, but yeah, there was
actually a few from both teams that turned up, so
fair play and talking about them being there for Nas.

Speaker 2 (32:54):
You're at the game, lamb, they have They did a
lot of desperation to keep him. They want him to stay.
Of horse is one of the best players in the competition.
Out of contract is a South Australian. But what did
they do at the game because you spoted a couple
of things.

Speaker 1 (33:06):
So yeah, everyone out of the front was getting we
love you Nas. Science You've also got there's a lot
of things on the screen and interactive games for the
crowd and multiple of them had a goat and Nas
be just comparing him to the goat of Volts. I
don't know if he's the go to Saint Korld of
just ye, there's a few other guys there, but they're
trying to keep him everything and every time he got
the ball, they were cheering so loud, which is fair play.

Speaker 2 (33:25):
From Saints fans.

Speaker 1 (33:26):
You want to keep him and if he can see
the love from the Saints fan everyone in the crowd
out of we love you Nas the sign.

Speaker 2 (33:33):
Who would he be the best since for Saint Kilday
like a Nick ree Wall.

Speaker 3 (33:41):
Has anyone? Zach d Awesome Raphael Clark.

Speaker 2 (33:49):
Probably well, and then before that Robbie Robert Harvey, Robert
Brown the medal to him. Well, North Melbourne they didn't
make it easy for them in that game. They're actually
quite resilient. They kicked three of the last four goals
in that final quarter. It was a tense finish but
they did get over the line. But on the flip
side for North Melbourne, Paul Curtis, with his striking suspension looming,

(34:12):
how many weeks does he get because it didn't look
pretty on the quarter time siren. It's very interesting. Would
you think his season is done because he has had
a fairly good season. Yeah, it's probably the best more
forward at the start of the year and then after
his four.

Speaker 1 (34:27):
Games year, he's dropped off a little bit since then.
He got him in the neck, which is probably helping him.
But he cind of close fist. He's just a little
angry man. Sometimes when he's not playing well, he gets
really angry. And that's that's the only part of him
that I don't like. He's a great mark, great kick.

Speaker 2 (34:41):
A dog about him though, yeah, but not punching people's
that's the Barry hole man.

Speaker 3 (34:45):
A bit fine.

Speaker 2 (34:47):
I reckon he was a bit angry because he failed
a PB bench press in the gym. He's still got
the bench present North he's the bench press record. But
also on Saint Kilden news, they're going to be without
someone for the next few weeks and that is Mitch Owens. Oh,
that's Michito.

Speaker 3 (34:59):
Is his season done?

Speaker 2 (35:00):
Looks like his season will be done hamstring injury. Three
games to play. You'd assume they wouldn't risk that and
play Magens, so he would just go off and recover.
But one player from both sides who were good in
this game as well, but had a fantastic couple of
months we've talked about him already for Saint Kilda, it's
Max Hall. He had another great game. He had the
match winning goal yep as well. And Cobby mckircheer I

(35:22):
think has been North Noman's best player for a little
while now and again he had thirty six disposals and
played very very well. But another person who played very
well in that game was Roand Marshall, and he made
the most of No Jerry in that Ruckland test seekers
not a natural Rucket was ding my head in he
was getting dominated by Marshall. He did Marshall had twenty
four disposals, a goal and seven score involvements. And for

(35:46):
someone who is sort of getting brushed aside a little
bit is not up to the heights that he was
when Saint Kilter made that final series, that's a great
performance for him. But there was a funny sort of
storyline in this game. Wasn't this that guy? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (35:58):
So Jack Steele the captain of the Saint Kurla Saints start.
He was the fourth captain ever to be a sub.
So Ross Lines made a statement of bold statement and
go on, Skipper, you're on the bench for three quarters
mate quarters trivia?

Speaker 2 (36:10):
Who are the other players who we know to be
I did know, I didn't write them down, but so
you don't know. Let's not on the comments. I'll let
you know in the comments. Can I get in the comment? Yeah,
let's get into the next one.

Speaker 1 (36:23):
On Sunday, gm HbA Stadium, Geelong taking on Port Adelaide,
Gelong twenty three goals fifteen one hundred and fifty three
Port Adelaide nine goals eleven sixty five. It was one
thing that we wanted to talk about, Leo. It was
jess Ton to watch. Is he on track, and he's
on track. He's well and truly on well, maybe not,
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (36:39):
He's on six. Let us know in the comments if
you think he's six goals for the season. He's on
six goals for the season against Port Adeli, No, you
gets six this week against Port Adelaid. We got there
in the end, seventy five for the season. With Essendon
and Richmond to come. They did look for him, Oh,
they did look.

Speaker 2 (36:54):
Coopicker Berg against Sydney as well.

Speaker 3 (36:56):
Sydney got there's three miles my god, my golly, got gosh. Yeah,
so they did look for him in that. I think
it was the first or second quarter danger, takes a mark,
should go back, kick, getting arts, give the hands and
Jazz snapped the goal. No issues and smarts just yeah,
the little things like that. But but four first half
goals only two in the second half. Could they have

(37:19):
looked for him more? Do we think? Well?

Speaker 2 (37:21):
I think Lockie Jones did a really good job because
after he got away early at the start of the
game where heed he kicked four in that first half,
Lockie Jones was on him. Look an absolute love. He's
a good player, Lockie Jones. He's had a few bad injuries.
I don't mind him.

Speaker 3 (37:33):
I don't mind him. But there was talk about the
sub with steel. What about the sub in this one?
Oh my god, the super sub. Once Jack Martin came
on as the super sub. He was unbelieved.

Speaker 1 (37:42):
He had four goals in his first four minutes on
the ground and in that time of those four minutes,
Port Adelaide had.

Speaker 2 (37:47):
Just three disposals.

Speaker 1 (37:48):
He was absolutely everywhere, and I've heard he's got big
hands helping him out.

Speaker 2 (37:51):
Do you think that's helped him with his Goalkie goes marketing?
Was it on Triple M that was good? I was
listening listening to some Triple M and STEVIEJ. He said
he's got big hands. They wrap around the golf club.
So he had some sticky hands as well. He absolutely
fans yeah, sticky hands. After he kicked ooh.

Speaker 1 (38:08):
In a matter of minutes, He's made a solid recruit
and there was a perfect move to bring him one
as the sub. I don't think it'd be the sub
next week.

Speaker 3 (38:13):
Though probably not in the Cats in general. Fantastic so
homes thirty five and too just found it as a
training drill, to be honest. Maya's thirty in a goal.
Lawson Humphries was really solid down back too, and I
just think it was a bit embarrassing from Port Adelaide.
The inside fifty count was sixty nine to thirty three,
obviously in favor of the Cats. Zach Butters he got

(38:33):
clamped ten disposals and Oistin Mulliner. God, I think I
butchered that she my Irish names Sheen Mullin. Apologies to
the Mullen family. He's been quite good for a while now.
I think we need to give him some port its.
The only player that has gotten on top of him
from a tagging perspective has been Nick Dakers.

Speaker 2 (38:55):
Okay, so I mean and to Nick daykos is high.
So I think you've only had twenty eight in that
game as well, when's getting almost forty every week.

Speaker 3 (39:02):
True, true, I think he's turned himself into an incredibly
important Tager Mullen. So he's gone from you on the
line sort of half back ball user. You know a
lot of Geelong fans not really liking his role to
a really high center bounds player. I think he had
the most center bounces for the Cat. That's incredible today
and it's just really important to have that negating role,

(39:22):
so you have bas and Holmes do their own.

Speaker 1 (39:24):
Thing, Chris Gott working his magic once again as the
best skeptical coach I reckon.

Speaker 3 (39:28):
As the sexiest coach in the NFL. I'm just a
little bit now important. I'm just at a little bit
of a loss with them at the moment. We've chatted
for a while now that it's been a wasted season. Yes,
not getting Josh Carr officially as the coach, having Ken
coach the season, and really all they should be trying
to do for the next three weeks is trying to
blood those sort of new unknown players in different roles

(39:49):
learn I guess about their future. Can this player play there?
Things like that, they've got fre and Sons both at
home to come in the final three. Are they any
chance to play.

Speaker 2 (39:58):
Spoiler like they had the chance to play school. I'm
sure they loved the chance to play spoiler as well,
but I don't see it happened.

Speaker 1 (40:07):
Rosie was laid out in this one as well, and
if he's out for those games, no chance they're playing.

Speaker 3 (40:12):
But as also, I don't know if you saw before
the Ami cupter falcon from a kid, so maybe maybe
we're giving Mullen too much credit.

Speaker 2 (40:18):
The kid can custom is from long screwge Chriscott. It's
not his tactics.

Speaker 3 (40:22):
I mean, maybe it's Chris Scott's son.

Speaker 2 (40:25):
Maybe kids Scott. We'll have to look into that. Leo
will be all over that one.

Speaker 3 (40:29):
I got my sources on it.

Speaker 2 (40:31):
Yeah, absolutely, all right, that's enough of that game.

Speaker 1 (40:33):
Let's get into the last game of Sunday Fun Day
at Opta Stadium.

Speaker 2 (40:36):
This was a fun one.

Speaker 1 (40:37):
Freeman l Carlton Freeman or fifteen goals for ninety four
Carlton ten goals, seven sixty seven free get on the
Purple Haze lads three of one, ten of the last
eleven games.

Speaker 2 (40:48):
But it wasn't easy.

Speaker 1 (40:49):
Early, a hot start from the Blues, accuracy and they
were really queen and clean and the wet They were
really good at the start, amazing tackling and smother pressure
from the Blues, especially in the first half, creating goals.
But they've done it again, the bloody Blue the field
of boys fans out there, another capitulation in the second half.
How many times have we said that I reckon at
least ten games this season? The second half was Freo's

(41:09):
wait nine goals to to sloppy kicking. There was a
few moments where Weedering was coming out of the fence.
He dropped the ball. Michael voss Is running down the
race in anger, like what it's gone.

Speaker 2 (41:18):
It was the worst passage of football on second and
you're an Esceidence supporter. It's up there, It's up there.
It was a calamity of errors. It was very funny,
and then in the end he got Pingsford deliberate as well.

Speaker 1 (41:32):
VOSSI probably was not happy with that one. I respect
him coming down. He was trying to rally the troops
a bit on the bench. The fair played to Vossi.
But they've really improved their finishes to the games compared
to last season. I think last season they were the
worst team heading into the fourth quarters, and the fourth
quarters they just capitulated a bit, whereas this season they've
been a bit more clutch. They've actually had six wins
by ten points or less this season now, some of

(41:53):
them against good teams, some of them against pretty average
teams like North and Carlton. Do we think this is
a good sign or a bad sign? Lad that they're
getting win close wins every time?

Speaker 3 (42:01):
I think it's a really good sign because even though
it is against lower opposition, I just want to take
you back to last year where there were so many
games they led at three quarter time and they couldn't
run it out, and I think they've definitely fixed that
issue that they've had. So I think it's an improvement
on them. And look, yes, maybe you do want to
beat Calton by a little bit more, maybe you want
to beat North more than a goal. That's fair, but

(42:24):
I feel like last year those results might not have
gone at least half of them might not have gone
their way.

Speaker 2 (42:30):
I think it's good and you can throw it even
throw back to Collingwood in their premiership season. They won
heaps of and heaps of games ten points or lesson
coming back. I'm not saying they were as good as
that calling the premiership to a premiership side, or that
they will even go on to win the premiership. But
it's not a bad sign, no, a good call.

Speaker 1 (42:45):
I actually like love that reference actually did beat calling
with it a close game as well, so they know
how to do it against the good teams and the
bad team.

Speaker 2 (42:50):
So that's a good sign.

Speaker 1 (42:51):
Talking a bit on Carlton, George, it was absolutely everywhere
early he had thirty six disposals and seven clearances in
the game. But great move by or Man himself, Josin
long you are to send o'meira or a man.

Speaker 2 (43:02):
Yeah, a man.

Speaker 1 (43:04):
He sent o'meira to him as a tag in the
second half and he would only had eleven disposers in
the second half.

Speaker 2 (43:08):
He was.

Speaker 1 (43:09):
He was absolutely everywhere in the first half, so good
move by long Mire and Luke Jackson another ruckman year
of the ruck that Marcus liked to say.

Speaker 2 (43:15):
He was unbelievable again.

Speaker 1 (43:16):
Twenty seven disposals, one goal, eighteen hitouts, so good even
early when it was tough conditions in the wet it
was underwater at one point.

Speaker 2 (43:23):
He's in an incredible season, he is, and he's a
credible player. Good on in the air, on deck, unreal, unreal,
Absolutely hating young very similar to Will That is absolutely
guttering for Freero fans.

Speaker 1 (43:32):
Only had a couple of games back and he's injured again.
He got subbed out with a groin injury. Just it's
absolutely sad. Leo was sad that I brought.

Speaker 2 (43:39):
Up the day. He's crying again.

Speaker 3 (43:41):
I'm getting somewhere.

Speaker 1 (43:42):
Yeah, you are oh, here we go. Actually you don't
mind hating young as well? Le I said, this is sad.

Speaker 3 (43:47):
As we talked him up last week. I know he
said it was a sneaky assassin. He's actually he's a
good actor hating young and not will Day.

Speaker 2 (43:59):
I tell you what it is. It's the Purple Haze
players in the room and they are absolutely frying. Like
I said, ten to last eleven they've won, and fair
play to Leo, there is actually a pretty good actor.

Speaker 3 (44:09):
That is.

Speaker 1 (44:09):
All the games done and dusted for around twenty one.
Let's get into a ladder. Check lad's ladder.

Speaker 6 (44:14):
Check Cromp the crop flag crom Like we're talking before
their first their first ship. Favorites and Crows fans will
be up and about for that one. They escape with
a win, another close win, but they can make Can
they make the top four?

Speaker 3 (44:26):
LUTs? Well, they're on the equal points. Is Geelong their
fifth at the moment? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (44:30):
Yeah, So what do you think they'll.

Speaker 3 (44:32):
Have to beat the Dogs at Marvel and Geelong would
have to drop a game against what Sydney.

Speaker 2 (44:39):
I think it'll be tough for them.

Speaker 1 (44:40):
Dogs still out of the eight, but they have the
third best percentage I think we're a bit more confident,
especially after that smashing.

Speaker 2 (44:45):
Do we agree with that one?

Speaker 3 (44:46):
I agree with that yeah, with the percentage and who
they got to come, definitely.

Speaker 2 (44:50):
Yeah, good call.

Speaker 1 (44:50):
And just finishing off with the ladder check, who makes
the eight from here? You've obviously got that ninth spot
is the one that everyone doesn't want. I'm personally leaning
towards the Hawks in that night spot, and I feel
like we're all greencers Bill days out as well.

Speaker 3 (45:01):
You're gonna make me crying?

Speaker 2 (45:02):
Yeah, sorry, just mentioned all day and Hawthorne still have
Collingwood and Adelaide to come. We just played Adelaide Brisbane, Collingrisbe.

Speaker 1 (45:13):
It's been our big week for Marcus, a big week
of Marcus tipping results. After the ladder check, Leo got
seven least of us three?

Speaker 2 (45:20):
What do you do? What do you do wrong?

Speaker 6 (45:21):
There?

Speaker 3 (45:22):
What I did wrong was I listened to my heart
not my head.

Speaker 2 (45:25):
I should have listened to my tingle because I got
eight and tip Brisbane. But what was my tingle?

Speaker 3 (45:29):
Nine?

Speaker 2 (45:31):
One tip wrong? Not a one tip wrong? And you
won't get me any credit for I.

Speaker 3 (45:34):
Think eight is the coolest number to get in tipping
because nine is just like your.

Speaker 2 (45:37):
Nerd infinity number. Actually it's an infinite number, and with
infinity amount of tips it's true.

Speaker 3 (45:43):
And with eight you get one wrong. It's a littly cool.
It's like, oh, you went for the rogue one. You
got it wrong, the wrong.

Speaker 2 (45:48):
Occasionally, you guys just non.

Speaker 3 (45:53):
Did you say none?

Speaker 2 (45:57):
There we go?

Speaker 1 (45:57):
You guys don't know you're talking about. I'm happy with
nine there lock results. We all got a lock right
this week. That's what you like to see. Leo, you
got the Swan's win. So remember it was only fourteen points.
I know that was a game of football.

Speaker 2 (46:08):
And Marcus, yep, we had the same game. Essendon failed
to score seventy and they sure didn't surprise me. Yeah
they sure didn't. Sure didn't surprise you. That sounds weird.
The Cats one that was an easy one for me.
That was long against Port Adelaide, big core results, Oh
damn it. I had Grundy for his hit out, wanted
sixty five plus hit out, He had eight half eight
a half time, but he ended up at thirty two,

(46:28):
so I was only thirty three. Bad.

Speaker 3 (46:30):
Leo was Hogan and Cadman for eight goals.

Speaker 2 (46:34):
No good still kick.

Speaker 3 (46:39):
Hogan. Hogan didn't get one and Cadman got one or two.

Speaker 1 (46:42):
Next and the closest on the couch who changed his
last minute so he originally went jazz up for six
plus goals.

Speaker 2 (46:49):
He kicked six goals one and what did you change
it to it? On the show Markers, I changed to
seven goals. He got cocky. I'm just on on the
right of the Jesse turn. I couldn't quite get there
and that would have been for three in the try
the hat trick.

Speaker 1 (47:00):
It would have been a hat trick of big calls.
But he's still the man on the couch there all right.
Best on ground of the week is with Lear. He
always tosses in turns of this, but he's actually pretty
confident this week.

Speaker 2 (47:09):
I believe Lina.

Speaker 3 (47:11):
I'm very happy with this list. One vote. B Grundy
thirty nine disposals thirty in Clinton's twenty two contested possessions. Look,
I did wanted to give the well I'll tell you why,
but I wanted to give votes to players who played
well in the sort of the better games this round
against better opponents. But Grundy's performance of nearly getting forty

(47:33):
disposals as a ruck cannot go un noticed. Two votes.
Jay Warren all Australian, All Australian back pocket, Joshi Warrell
twenty disposals and he was just so crucial in that
last quarter for Adelaide. He had four intercept possessions from
his six, but he was just getting in the way,
constantly putting on spoils, putting on defensive pressure, and in

(47:54):
turn they got a lot of attack out of his
defensive efforts. Two votes, three votes. Our Morris great initials logan.
Six goals against the Pies like that just says it
awful mine. You said his stats earlier. He was the
difference in the game. Colin had no answer for him,
and he's an absolute young superstar on the rise. I'm

(48:15):
happy with that.

Speaker 2 (48:15):
You're very happy with that.

Speaker 3 (48:16):
I really like that.

Speaker 2 (48:17):
I was I thought Max Home is a little bit stiff,
but I like.

Speaker 3 (48:19):
Your Port at Home.

Speaker 2 (48:21):
No, not fair enough. So the guys that stepped up
in the big games are given the.

Speaker 3 (48:24):
Votes to Yeah, I was considering rankin Dawson and Norton
is the other sort of Norton is a little bit
very stiff.

Speaker 1 (48:30):
Now that you've done well there for best on Ground
of the week, let us know in the comments are
how Leo went or if the's anyone he missed out on.
Now the most controversial segment, we always finished with our
best team of the round, full credit to the boys.

Speaker 2 (48:40):
What do you got? Well, I've been cooking cereal lately
with the best team of the rounds and I'm going
to try and cook again here. So I'm going to
go one vote. I will go with the is he
going to do it? He crows a one vote for
Crows two votes be Lloyins. After getting smashed in the

(49:05):
Q clash, they needed to bounce back with the win
and against Collingwood at the MCG. They did that there
and stamped their claim with a very hot the hardest
picture to end the season. Don't don't underestimate that win.
You reckon that should be Know where you're going with
this because it was against the team that you love.
But go on GWS Joints three votes, Yes, oh yes,

(49:34):
the Western Bulldogs deser three votes smashing GB West.

Speaker 3 (49:39):
At home and.

Speaker 2 (49:42):
There's not many teams that can beat the g WIST
Joints by ninety points.

Speaker 1 (49:45):
So the team that you're overrating got smashed. So that's
why you're giving the dogs the free three votes.

Speaker 2 (49:50):
No ju are the best team the competition has ever seen.
The doggie stumptoms.

Speaker 3 (49:57):
So the last of this segment, what.

Speaker 2 (50:00):
Are you doing?

Speaker 1 (50:00):
The dog should not begetting three Brisbane. Let us know
in the comments, how off the rows this man has become?
And that will do us for the AFL Today Show.
