Speaker 1 (00:33):
I am everything Marcus aspires to be, tall, handsome, getting married,
had my birthday last week.
Speaker 5 (00:39):
And with a slightly more successful football team. So everything
that Marcus isn't is what I am.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
Well ten seconds, he's already pumped his eager.
Speaker 3 (00:46):
I don't know if you composed about having a birthdays.
We've all got one of them. Also, Liam Malalley also
on the couch. He's just always here.
Speaker 4 (00:51):
Yes, I'm always here and we replaced an snfan with
a Sydney fan, so it is enough grade, but how.
Speaker 2 (00:57):
Far are we going? How far are we going in?
Speaker 1 (00:59):
We needed Academy pick, so it's.

to get into it around twenty two. Previous Thursday Night
Footy Hawthorne Verse calling with Thursday Night seven thirty at
the MCG.
Speaker 1 (01:39):
Definitely the game of the Roundecks. I like how I've
loved in and have been given the best game.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
I shout out to.
Speaker 1 (01:45):
Steal side bottom three hundred and fiftieth.
Speaker 5 (01:47):
Game this weekend, so that's massive and he may well
go on for another season.
Speaker 1 (01:52):
Yeah year, why Like, it's ridiculous. My legs are cooked
and he's older than me. It's ridiculous. We have a
race between you two.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
Win my hairline? Yeah I have hair Come on, mate, initiation.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
I mean theash game could be a little bit different. Yeah,
top of the head. I got in covered.
Speaker 5 (02:14):
But look, this is a most win for both sides
for different reasons. Hawthorne desperately need to win because their
final spot isn't locked up as if yet. I know
they've got the free hit next week against Melbourne, but
it's Brisbane in the final. Around the fixture just released
seven twenty on the Sunday night just to torture you,
is going to be really fun viewing if Hawthorne actually
don't win this one. Obviously, the Pies need to win
(02:36):
this because they're not locked into the top four, let
alone the top two, so they could slide even further.
And it's in the same realm I lived this last
year Collingwland fans Sydney fan obviously, where they are on
top and they had to win a game three rounds
out to get you know, get go again.
Speaker 1 (02:50):
Funnily enough against Collingwood.
Speaker 3 (02:51):
Yeah, you definitely got going again making the granny. But
it is tough for this time of year that it is.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
It is, And I want to talk about Collingwood sports,
the big boys. I am a big Ford guy here.
I love my big Fords.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
Are they're going to say I'm a big boy.
Speaker 5 (03:04):
I am tall taller not that Tom six to one,
but anyway, the big boys are killing me. So in
the last couple of weeks. So we looked in the
last four games when these forwards have started stuttering ass
as Collingwood's forms. Against the Gold Coast Suns, it was Memory,
Cox and McStay two goals against Fremantle, Cox, Memory, Myerchick
two goals against Fremantle. It was triple M Memory, myercheck
(03:25):
and McStay roll at Triple M Freeze he kicked five goals,
but it was Richmond who cares. Then against Brisbane last
week for triple M once again, it was three goals.
It is twelve goals in the.
Speaker 1 (03:36):
Last four games between them.
Speaker 5 (03:38):
This time last year we had the ick about Marty
McDonald and MacLean.
Speaker 1 (03:43):
I've got the ick about triple.
Speaker 3 (03:44):
M's coming hot on this show.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
Actually, I like that.
Speaker 3 (03:47):
You're right that it is a worry when you're big forwards,
they get some goals from midfield at least, but the
last month and a half have been poor in that area.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
I'll give you that.
Speaker 5 (03:55):
Yeah, And so you look at that and you're like, okay, well,
how are they going to find other avenues to go well?
They're scoring has up dramatically. Richmond game aside it again
similar to Sydney last year. They smashed North Melbourne when
they weren't going well, but against the Western Bulldogs in
Port Adelade they really struggled with the score. So Leah,
we sort of looked towards you know, the midfield there
with a Hawthorne going to tag Decos because he's the
(04:16):
kind of guy that usually averages, you know, two kicks
per handball. He's one point ninety six per handball last
week twenty nine touches but eighteen handballs.
Speaker 4 (04:25):
How to Hawthorne nullif well, I would love to tag him.
I think you look back to last week. I think
Mitchell had the perfect opportunity to negate Dawson with Connor
Ash and he didn't do it.
Speaker 2 (04:34):
So That tells me that we're probably going to go
into this without a tag.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
You haven't tagged all season.
Speaker 2 (04:39):
Really, Beginners is obviously out for the season.
Speaker 1 (04:42):
So I got back from Tasmania.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
He's back, he's smiling at the club. He's alive. Okay,
a live fly.
Speaker 1 (04:49):
I'll get the spirit of Tasmania. I don't know, swam mate,
that's not good with a rushed kid now.
Speaker 2 (04:54):
Definitely good. But I think if we're going to it
has to be Nash.
Speaker 4 (04:57):
He's the only one in that midfield who can really
have a hard edge over those ball winners.
Speaker 2 (05:02):
But I don't think we will.
Speaker 5 (05:04):
He saw what Brisbane did last week where they did
line up on him, but you had Barry as a
secondary there as well, so he wasn't getting that outlet.
Speaker 2 (05:11):
It is.
Speaker 1 (05:11):
It feels like if you crowd him because he loves
it to avoid the physical contact. Like he's very good,
like he's really strong through his hips, but he runs
from the back, hit duck away from pressure, give a handble,
try and do the give and go. So if you
can block his running lanes and you've got him going backwards,
he can have thirty all he wants. Yeah, he's going backwards. Yeah,
that's a good call. I gotta I got to bring
(05:31):
it up for Lee.
Speaker 2 (05:32):
I'm gonna make it.
Speaker 5 (05:34):
It is a day that ends in Why we need
to talk about will Day Hawthorne with will Day seventeen
and five, one of those losses being last week without
will Day eleven and twelve. Oh, how big is this
for Hawthorne.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
It's massive.
Speaker 4 (05:49):
It's just it's the Midfield's been the issue of the
whole year, not having a superstar. They can switch momentum.
Day can be that player, but he just can't stir
on the bar.
Speaker 2 (05:58):
Oh, he's always injured.
Speaker 4 (05:59):
He's all is injured And I think all my tears
have dried up since Sunday Show.
Speaker 2 (06:05):
Yeah, he did have a good effort crying on that year. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (06:08):
So I've got to talk about the tour four line.
You went four of the four tours last week.
Speaker 1 (06:13):
You cannot do it this week.
Speaker 5 (06:15):
It did not work and against the Collingwood defense that
can be quite nippy coming out.
Speaker 1 (06:19):
Of half back. But you also look at it from
the other end of the spectrum.
Speaker 5 (06:23):
How you know Sam Mitchell is going to look at
his that third tour the last few weeks against Collingwood's
bobbed up and kicked goals. Obviously, the Prancing Pony kick
six a couple of weeks ago, Morris kicked six last week.
All these have been on Darcy Moore and I said
earlier in the week just around us and on a
video online. Not replacing Nathan Murphy has been Colin biggest
(06:43):
issue since that Grand Final win. Obviously, Jeremy Howe is
probably going to come back in plus Frampton, that's a
big thing.
Speaker 1 (06:49):
But Billy fan Frampton has actually been solid. So that's
what I mean.
Speaker 5 (06:52):
Billy ef and Frampton maybe plays on Mitch Lewis if
he plays, and then it's you know what, who goes
to Darcy Moore is a deer or gunst and orders
troll player.
Speaker 1 (07:01):
But what's the three you're going with?
Speaker 4 (07:02):
Well, it's interesting you mentioned that, like they're bringing back
Frampton and how because of that do you think Mitchell
goes No, I'm going to keep the four tolls and
stretch the back line that way, Darcy Moore has to
play on a.
Speaker 1 (07:14):
Deer or Lewis. Yeah, but then what is it up?
Speaker 5 (07:16):
It's up to the Wizard and Dylan Moore to really
try and chop in and kick going.
Speaker 4 (07:21):
Yeah, there's a lot of pressure on the Smalls. I
think they stood up last week on McDonald as well too.
But you're right playing four talls.
Speaker 2 (07:28):
Is you know who's getting subbed out?
Speaker 3 (07:30):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (07:31):
Yeah, absolutely don't sub out Deer again. It's going to spark.
Speaker 2 (07:35):
Yeah, Barometer, you said that on the Sunday Show.
Speaker 1 (07:37):
You've got to keep but he can take that park
Mark late in the game out of nowherehereas if Charle's off,
he's off.
Speaker 2 (07:42):
Yeah, I'd rather Lewis off. No good call Lewis.
Speaker 1 (07:44):
Tips and margin. Lads will start with Alexis game.
Speaker 2 (07:47):
What do we got?
Speaker 5 (07:48):
I'm leaning to Collingwood just yeah, similar to the Swans
last year. As I said, they've been ten percent off
because they're so far ahead all year. This is the
game where Sydney got over the top of Collingwood last
Year's like, oh, they need to win to stay on
top of the ladder. I think Colin would have just enough,
and especially with no will Day, I think they can
(08:09):
get it done.
Speaker 1 (08:09):
It's gonna be ugly though. How many points three?
Speaker 4 (08:12):
Three pies by three and I die?
Speaker 2 (08:17):
Oh you died? He's not happy.
Speaker 3 (08:18):
I'm gonna lift this spirit. Hawks are gonna win by
five under a goal. There are only losses in the
last eight games have been against Freo and Adelaide, who
are both in better form than Collingwood right now. And
the Pies, as Alex mentioned, have been leaking goals to
tall forwards. You've got tall forwards and plenty. Someone in
one of those tall forwards will kick five plus and
win the game for the Hawks.
Speaker 1 (08:36):
That's five plus. They win by more than five.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
Well, I don't mind if they win more than five.
That's still my tip.
Speaker 3 (08:42):
Right.
Speaker 2 (08:42):
So do you believe that? I genuinely do. Genuinely do
you go? You're in batter form.
Speaker 3 (08:46):
You've got a bit of confidence from last week. I
know you lost, but get me I was excited again.
All right, let's get into Friday night, Geelong versu Essendon
at Gumba g m HbA Stadium, seven forty.
Speaker 1 (08:58):
It's all about jess A Toun watch there all everyone's
talking about.
Speaker 2 (09:01):
It's all about what is a pass mark for him
here to get the time? What does he have to kick?
What do we think?
Speaker 1 (09:08):
Eight?
Speaker 4 (09:08):
Eight?
Speaker 1 (09:10):
I'm gonna say nine. No, he gets in the regular season.
I don't think he gets in the regular season. Yeahest
because he's got to kick eight this week. You look
at next week, he's got the Swans. He's only kicked
thirteen goals and six games against the Swans.
Speaker 5 (09:24):
Then he's got Richmond to dominate that. Yeah, he's got Richmond,
Who've got a pretty good defense. Someone's ring on my phone,
thank you to whoever that is. But yeah, Richmond's defense
is a little bit better, not great last week against
Gold Coast admittedly, so he needs to cash in against
an Essendon defense that's doing nothing.
Speaker 3 (09:39):
Well.
Speaker 2 (09:39):
He has a great record against him.
Speaker 4 (09:40):
He kicked six last time they played and has forty
six goals from sixteen games.
Speaker 2 (09:45):
Bad. It's the pretty good record.
Speaker 1 (09:48):
Tomahawk record against the Bombers.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
Everything I love playing the Bombers.
Speaker 4 (09:52):
Speaking of last time they played, bas and Holmes just
absolutely run a mark forty one for bads, thirty six
for Home's disposals.
Speaker 2 (09:59):
That is, they ran all over the Bombers mids and Essendon.
Speaker 4 (10:02):
Weren't too bad in the clearance at different stages, but
around the ground the pace of those guys think the
Essendon mids could not go with them, and just historically.
Speaker 2 (10:12):
The Bombers just aren't very good against the Cats.
Speaker 1 (10:14):
And they won that preseason game that one time.
Speaker 2 (10:17):
That was this year, wasn't it?
Speaker 1 (10:19):
The last year was I don't know.
Speaker 2 (10:20):
CagA kicked four.
Speaker 1 (10:21):
This year they can say it's a preseason game.
Speaker 2 (10:23):
But anyway, the.
Speaker 4 (10:24):
Bombers haven't beaten the Cats since twenty eighteen. And to
go on top of that, defensively, they can't cover them.
Cats have scored one hundred plus points six of their
last seven encounters.
Speaker 1 (10:35):
This is when they actually had a defense.
Speaker 2 (10:37):
It is when they had a defense.
Speaker 4 (10:38):
Other time was ninety eight points and four of those
times it was one twenty plus.
Speaker 1 (10:43):
So they just.
Speaker 4 (10:43):
Absolutely put the herd on in offense Geelong do then
we look to the Bombers scoring power and the last
five games this season they've averaged fifty four points ideal.
Speaker 2 (10:56):
You've got that, and you've.
Speaker 4 (10:57):
Got the fact that Catty's TVC on the injury list,
Langford's playing VFL. It's not looking grim fair well, it
is looking green for Essendon. Do we think are they
any chance to keep it within eight goals here?
Speaker 2 (11:11):
What do we think?
Speaker 5 (11:12):
Well, like we thought that last week and then it
was monsooner in Sydney, it was this one's if you
watched it did, We're just like, oh, we're gonna win.
Speaker 1 (11:19):
We don't care by how much. I think, whereas Geelong
Jes time watch it's cash in time.
Speaker 2 (11:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (11:24):
I think Geelong are a brutal side, as we watched
against Port that third quarter when even when they're up
by about fifteen goals, they're still just piling them on.
Speaker 2 (11:30):
They were absolutely domint. They're going to look for Jes too,
big time.
Speaker 3 (11:33):
They're going to look for him. So we can't give
the Dons a chance in this one. Sorry, Bomba's fans.
I'm going to go, Yeah, I'm going to go the
Cats by eighty points, and I feel like you lads
are a bit higher than that.
Speaker 5 (11:42):
Nive ninety five by four goals by but along by
one hundred.
Speaker 2 (11:47):
I'll touch on that in my big cause some Yeah.
Speaker 5 (11:51):
So Jessic could kick ten and Essendon kick six, but
Geelong and win by one hundred.
Speaker 1 (11:56):
I like that.
Speaker 3 (11:57):
Saturday is the next one, Richmond at versat killed Saturday
or one twenty at the MCG. Now, lads, the Saints
have won six of the last seven meetings, but they
really play at the MCG and the Tigers actually won
the last meeting there, so a bit of a good
one for the Tigers fans there before we break down
the day breakdown this game.
Speaker 1 (12:14):
Yeah, I've got a big question for you guys.
Speaker 3 (12:15):
Which club out of the Saints and the Tigers is
it a better position for the future. I personally think
if you take one player out of the Saints, their
futures cooked. Wind Hagger definitely not win Takers like to say,
Leo is saying wind Takers better than I still get
into him in the comments, So I think that was Marcus. Yeah, definitely.
Now which club is in a better position for the future?
Do we think right now?
Speaker 5 (12:36):
Richmond history of success, But sin Kilda's last flag was
when Jesus was a boy.
Speaker 2 (12:42):
That is true.
Speaker 5 (12:43):
Historically sin Kilda are just not good Richmond. At least
they've won the three flags in the last decade. They've
already got a head start on this rebuild. Sin Kilda
are too busy complaining about academies and father sons and Richmond.
Speaker 1 (12:55):
Hey, you're an asset. We don't want get out. We're
getting in the best kids.
Speaker 2 (12:59):
Yeah, they've done well and they've got and.
Speaker 1 (13:01):
They've got cash to go after free agents in the
next few years.
Speaker 2 (13:03):
You mentioned Baby Jesus, Saints have God Nas Yeah, what
is he stayed? He stays, he got Nass, you got
wind Hagger, you got the poop.
Speaker 4 (13:12):
He'll get on the field. I think you got Darcy
Well said, you got Max Hall. These guys I think
are further developed than that.
Speaker 1 (13:19):
Richmond crops because they've all played twelve.
Speaker 2 (13:21):
Games exactly exactly. He's getting it.
Speaker 1 (13:26):
Games.
Speaker 4 (13:26):
What I will say is, I think the Richmond young
talent is very is superb. It is very good, and
I think once it gets the games that those Saints.
Speaker 2 (13:34):
Guys have will see its skyrocket. I think Saint kiltal right, now,
who do you want to be?
Speaker 1 (13:38):
Who do you want to be in twenty thirty?
Speaker 2 (13:39):
Yeah, Richmond, Okay, there we go. That answers my question.
But you said right now, did you?
Speaker 3 (13:44):
I said in the I said, who is going to
be in a better position for the future.
Speaker 2 (13:48):
Use the word future like three times? So you Richmond
Nefield next year.
Speaker 1 (13:52):
I'll take Sat Kild next year head to head.
Speaker 5 (13:54):
I'll take some killed, of course, but I will take
this Richmond team any day of the week going.
Speaker 4 (14:00):
If Saints get it right with their drafting, they could
skyrocket historically they don't.
Speaker 3 (14:04):
I agree with Leo on the point that those guys
actually could have solid careers.
Speaker 1 (14:10):
The last few years. They have got their drafting right.
But the decision is the biggest thing.
Speaker 5 (14:15):
It's either they lose Naz and they get a stack
of draft picks, or they have nas for two more
years and probably lose him.
Speaker 2 (14:20):
Anyway, if he stays, the Saints socials is going to
go absolutely off. Oh I reckon.
Speaker 1 (14:23):
I'm excited for that, but I don't know if he's
going to stay. If you're a sin Kilder fan, I
reck if he leaves, I think you've got free reign
to change a lot.
Speaker 2 (14:31):
No, you don't. No one in the AFL does.
Speaker 1 (14:33):
No, you do.
Speaker 5 (14:34):
You just can't jump onto another Melbourne team. You have
free reign to change if this blowke he's just.
Speaker 1 (14:38):
Trying to get more fans to Sydney. Don't go for
this ones go for like Tasmania or GWS. But you
have free reign to go for a different team.
Speaker 2 (14:45):
Because this is how a sport work.
Speaker 1 (14:46):
No, but it can be because this is the future
and you have it pulled out from under you. It'd
be so depressive, it would be. But that's just go
for North Melbourne like I'm still here.
Speaker 3 (14:56):
Mate, Your women's team will never lose again. That is true,
That is very true. I check at AFLW today. The
season preview was out next week, actually, Alex, next Tuesday.
That would be good fun. I think this actually could
be a fun game. The Saints seemed to play more
attacking on the G. They've actually scored ninety plus three
times there since twenty twenty three, and they very rarely
scored ninety plus under ross Lyne. Also Sinclair and Nats,
(15:17):
I think they love the open spaces of the G,
especially Sinclair. He feasts against the Tigers. He averages thirty
three disposals across his last five meetings with the Tigers
and for the Tigs Seth Campbell. He also had a
career best three goals too in the last meeting with
the Saints. And I think you can threaten this to
make it a bit of a close game because the
Saints I watched them against North last week my belove
and could have got over line. It was just scrappy
(15:37):
and the Tigers have been playing solid footy. So I
think the Saints, if they do win this one, it's
going to be close and it's going to be twelve points,
it would be very Saint kilter Leo, who you going?
Speaker 2 (15:47):
Saints? Both four goals? Big watching the Unders in this one.
Speaker 1 (15:50):
Yeah, agreed Saints by goal.
Speaker 5 (15:52):
But we didn't even talk about how pathetic Richmond were
last week. Yeah, the last ten seconds to kick their
second goal.
Speaker 1 (15:58):
They were embarrassed.
Speaker 2 (15:59):
That's the other reason you probably got to lean towards
the Saint. Yes, in this one.
Speaker 1 (16:01):
Not a great game.
Speaker 3 (16:02):
Next one Brisbane vers Sydney Saturday eight four p fifteen
at the Gabba.
Speaker 2 (16:07):
Now, Leah, you've got to be a questioning to start
off here.
Speaker 4 (16:08):
Yeah, I want to start out with the question have
Brisbane been a little bit underwhelming at the Gabba this year?
Speaker 2 (16:14):
What are your thoughts on that?
Speaker 1 (16:16):
Take me through it?
Speaker 2 (16:17):
Oh, you want me to take your through it?
Speaker 1 (16:18):
I'll take you through it.
Speaker 4 (16:20):
Here we go, all right, I'll take you back to
round two. You were a young boy at the time.
Nineteen point win against West Coast. So they got jumped.
Speaker 2 (16:29):
In that game they did.
Speaker 4 (16:30):
Then we go, We're going to fast forward to their
loss against the D's. Eleven point loss against the D's
at home. D's came from behind one. That one then
only in eighteen point win over the injury ravage Dons,
and the next I think the next time they played
at Gaba eleven point loss to GWS.
Speaker 1 (16:47):
That's not that bad, great X score game that one.
Speaker 4 (16:49):
It was, and ten point ten point wins against the
Dogs where they were they weren't ruthless.
Speaker 2 (16:54):
In that one.
Speaker 4 (16:54):
So I just think there's been some games this year
at the Gabba the ruthless best.
Speaker 3 (16:58):
What have they done in all those games except Melbourne
though they won, they still still win.
Speaker 1 (17:03):
Giants.
Speaker 2 (17:04):
Yeah, the Giants are a solid team.
Speaker 4 (17:05):
Other than last week obviously at home, they've still won
six games this year, which is still very good.
Speaker 2 (17:10):
I just think thats too.
Speaker 1 (17:13):
Yeah, I forgot about that. I did forget that through
and he forgets the main one.
Speaker 2 (17:18):
The main one was losing to the D's by that.
That's nuts, and they usually are a fortress at the
gab they Yeah, So I just think they haven't been.
Speaker 4 (17:26):
That ruthless there this season and they've only, as I said,
they managed six wins, which is great. But that Dog's
game I think was proof that they could have really
put the herd on the Dogs.
Speaker 2 (17:36):
In that third corn and they didn't.
Speaker 4 (17:38):
So looking at that and looking at now the fact
that they don't have locking Eel who's out with a
quad for the rest of the home and away season.
Speaker 1 (17:45):
Yes, the clickbait on some of those heads season over respect.
Speaker 2 (17:51):
It was smart players, a bit of daily mail going
on about it.
Speaker 4 (17:54):
Does this mean, and I want to ask our residents
Swan's man Alex, does this mean Jordan now goes to.
Speaker 1 (17:59):
Mcclug one hundred percent he goes. So mcluggage got off
the chain in the first quarter of the Grand Final
last year, had probably ten touches and a go in
that first quarter.
Speaker 5 (18:07):
I'm kicked the go on, but I know we had
a lot of the footy and then it's Jimmy straight.
You go straight to mcluggage, locked him down for the
rest of the game. You genuinely didn't notice him. I
think that's the play, and I think Brandon Campbell defensive
tag on Zorko.
Speaker 3 (18:19):
Yeah, that's I don't mind that because Zorko just has
been so such a weapon off half you.
Speaker 1 (18:24):
Can't let him take the piss and get thirty five
touches off half back. No, I agree.
Speaker 4 (18:27):
Another Brisbane defender who's unfortunately out as well, Ryan Lester,
I think it was with a concussion for a week.
So I hope we see Tommy dou Da or dode
however you say the name of Dodey. I hope we
see him play his first game.
Speaker 1 (18:40):
In what like two years. He was so game for Brisbane.
Speaker 4 (18:43):
First game for Brisbane Prime. Tom at Adelaide was of
Adelaide did well.
Speaker 1 (18:48):
Like losing out to him because it's allowed Warrell Macaleni
and all that to come in.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
It's not bad.
Speaker 4 (18:53):
He's had a strong bocker games in the in the
twos last two weeks. He's taking fifteen marks in the VFL.
It seems like he's got his intercepting ability back in
that sort of level, and I hope we can see
it this week.
Speaker 3 (19:05):
Now.
Speaker 4 (19:06):
Speaking of a strong mark down back, I want to
flip the switch and go to the Swans here. Callum
Mills has been super impressive in the last two months.
He has hit twenty plus disposals seven of the nine
times he's played this season, and has averaged.
Speaker 2 (19:21):
Eight marks in his last three. He's just been an
absolute general down there.
Speaker 5 (19:24):
It's almost like having a blow play continuous footy for
the first time in two years. Who was in all
Australian in the last time he played the full season.
Is a good thing. Yeah, I think a lot of
the footy world cane coins. Hello, I'm looking at you.
I'd forgotten how good Callum Mills is.
Speaker 2 (19:39):
I think I'll put my hand up. I definitely forgot
as Well's just.
Speaker 1 (19:41):
Doesn't that when you get injured all that. He's a
very good player.
Speaker 5 (19:44):
He got in that wrestle with Constanty which didn't help him,
and then obviously last year had all the different setbacks
and then this year leading into some foot stuff as well.
Speaker 1 (19:51):
But what he does. The addition of a player like Sheldrick.
Speaker 5 (19:54):
And Robottom into this one's midfield has allowed him to
go back and play that half back roll. Been a
few times in the last couple of months. You know
the ball goes high in the air and you know
it goes out of screen.
Speaker 1 (20:04):
Bang Callum. He's always there.
Speaker 5 (20:07):
If you watch a Swan's game, sit behind the goals
and watch him and Dane Rampy direct traffic, it's phenomen Okay.
Speaker 2 (20:13):
That's good to have that experience back there, Royce. I
want to ask as well. We'll end on this question.
Speaker 4 (20:18):
Does Sydney still have the hunger obviously out of finals,
do they still have the hunger to run out the
season and play a bit of spoiler here against Brisbille
Alex Yeah.
Speaker 1 (20:26):
I think they do so.
Speaker 5 (20:27):
Historically, the Swans aren't a team that play meaningless football,
as in, you know, they always in contention for something.
But I went back over the last decade, not including
COVID because COVID was it doesn't exist exactly, didn't count
in the last decade. The Swans have never lost more
than one of their last three games, so that our
strong finishes. OK, so that's something that and it's only
(20:47):
like once or twice that they have lost those games.
Usually they're flying in winning three for three.
Speaker 1 (20:52):
So they'll be up and about because they should have
beaten Brisbane in round one. They should have beaten them
last year in Brisbane. I know they got flogged in
the ground final, but they'll be like, no, no, we
can come here and play spoiler. Will Haywood, Hayter McLean
expected to come back in the team as well, like
this one's team. If everything clicks from the midfield, they
can play well. Like you know, Grundy and Goulden are
(21:12):
in great form.
Speaker 2 (21:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (21:13):
Absolutely, he's also pushing for an all Australian Ganzi himself.
So this is a this is going to be a
pretty decent game. Yeah, this would be an awesome game.
So on that you can give your tip and margin.
I reckon, first, are you landing to just Swans?
Speaker 4 (21:24):
Are?
Speaker 2 (21:24):
He's still gone?
Speaker 5 (21:25):
I'd love to see them win yea. Logically know the
line should win. That was so good against Collingwood last week.
I've got to tip them off that alone. But the Swans,
it would not shock me whatsoever if they were to
come out and win.
Speaker 4 (21:38):
Goodl Now I'm brizzy by nine points if on the
last five against Sydney, but I just don't think they'll
be that ruthless at home.
Speaker 2 (21:44):
Yeah, be good game. I agree.
Speaker 3 (21:46):
I think the max they're going to win buy is
about three goals. I'm gonna say fifteen points, and I
think this could be a really sneaky good game.
Speaker 1 (21:51):
Either team by twenty four and a half points could
be like if you want to have a bet gamble
responsible of course you could look into that.
Speaker 2 (21:57):
Okay, don't mind that at all, mind it? He Leo
quick question?
Speaker 1 (22:00):
Do you know what the asex means?
Speaker 3 (22:02):
Uh? Do you mean AFLX, no mate the ASEX, the
Australian Stock Exchange.
Speaker 2 (22:07):
Oh man, I'm absolutely clueless for that stuff.
Speaker 3 (22:09):
Well, lucky for you, stock head is a free website
that gives you everything you need to know about punting
stocks on the ASEX.
Speaker 2 (22:15):
Damn, that sounds pretty good. Where do I check them out?
Speaker 3 (22:18):
Check it out via stockare dot com, dot you and
it's even easy for your little.
Speaker 2 (22:21):
P brain to understand. Damn.
Speaker 3 (22:24):
Saturday night at a Marvel Stadium, Carlton versus gold Coaster's
next one here seven thirty five Alex.
Speaker 2 (22:29):
This was an interesting one. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (22:31):
So this obviously plays into a lot of what's going
on in the footy world at the moment with Simon
Goodwin being sacked. So if Gold Coast come to Don
Dime and absolutely smack Carlton, do you think they march
out Voss? You like if gold Coast win by ten
plus goals, given that Melbourne have got the jump on
the coaching search and you need to think of this logically.
(22:51):
I'm not a Carlton fan by any stretch, but I
look at that list, I look at that coaching setup.
This is a team that is not playing for their
club or coach anymore. There's too many doing what they
want similar at Melbourne at the moment, and we saw
last week in the ragining Perth that Carlton really came
out firing because the wet really helped their contested game.
And there's a certain stat that I'm going to throw
to their stats guy with Carlton this year.
Speaker 3 (23:14):
Yes, so they've six times this year they've lost when
leading at halftime. The record in a season is nineteen
ninety eight by Essendon where they've done it eight times.
So just they need a leader and maybe they should
purposely not lead at half time.
Speaker 2 (23:26):
No, but then they're going to be terrible in the
second half.
Speaker 1 (23:28):
But they've got to change something because they were so good.
Speaker 3 (23:31):
I know we talked about in the office about them
being good because it was raining a little bit, good
contested footy team Carlton, but they were amazing against Free
on the first half and then they only kicked two
goals in the second half.
Speaker 1 (23:40):
I was so frustrated.
Speaker 5 (23:40):
That's also when you look at about how Free I
like to fling the footy around and really move it,
whereas Carlton in an under So the conditions really suited
them to start with and it took excuse me free
a quarter or so.
Speaker 1 (23:51):
Were just to the game?
Speaker 2 (23:52):
True?
Speaker 5 (23:52):
Do you look at Cripson hewittt were fantastic last week,
had a lot of the footy themselves. And Harry McKay
was as aggressive as I've ever s seeing him. I
only ended up with the one goal, but he led
the tackles for the game with ten. That's the first
time he would have done.
Speaker 1 (24:05):
That's putting himself in the shop window, or is he
Like what are we thinking with Harry here? Because if
CARLTN are going to make wholesale changes to this list
and try and sort of you know, get ahead, because
they're just sitting in nowhere no man's land at the moment.
Is he a tradable asset?
Speaker 4 (24:19):
I don't think he's smart enough to put himself in
the shop Lea loves his podcast number one listening here. Look,
I think I think if CARTN a looking to trade
one of those key bigs, I think mackay should be
the man they look at first. Yea, but that aggression
he brought, like if he brings out every week and
he's hold and believe in that, then.
Speaker 3 (24:38):
If you've got a big man that can add pressure,
which is very much like Josh Tracy when he doesn't.
Speaker 2 (24:44):
Marty's pretty solid too. If you can have that, that's both.
Jack Conston's all right.
Speaker 1 (24:52):
Holding the balls against Freemantle, thank you very much.
Speaker 2 (24:54):
Anyway.
Speaker 3 (24:55):
I just think it adds another, like really good area
to his game that we wouldn't have often thought of exactly.
Speaker 5 (25:00):
So after that Adelaide game where I say it around
the office and I haven't said on this show, gold
Coast just have a bozo game in them now and
then I think for the rest of their existence. Once
a year they'll get pumped and we'll be like, what
the hell was that? Just Gold Coast being Gold Coast.
It's a thing, don't worry about it. But in the
last two weeks they have absolutely thumped Brisbane and Richmond,
(25:20):
and they've got multiple weapons going in and around goal
that Ben King pops up, Humphrey pops up, Ji Farrah
comes in for his first kicks, a couple of girls,
Benny long Ethan Reid putting it all together, finally got
the rising star and on. He's using his athleticism and
footy smarts. He can outrun most blokes and he's you know,
six six and a half foot tall close to two meters.
(25:41):
Good luck trying to stop him when he gets up
and going. But the main man, the man who should
be all Australian captain this season, Jordan Dawson, you'll be
the vice captain, Noah Anderson.
Speaker 1 (25:52):
Sneaky brownlow shot because you kind of forget how many
games Gold Coast have won up there and in Darwin,
and Anderson's going to be best on in rest of
those games. I think he would have polled pretty cold
so many votes last year to remember, I.
Speaker 4 (26:06):
Reckon the last two months he would have polled pretty
much every game, but that Adelaide one as well, just
thinking back to it.
Speaker 3 (26:12):
Yeah, Matt Row definitely has a few three votes over him,
like there's but.
Speaker 1 (26:16):
They might lean to Anderson because he does he does
the sexiest thing.
Speaker 3 (26:20):
The captain's goals, and I reckon we delve deeper into
that later in the show because we gonna have a
little brownload chat as well. Stay tuned, but we'd like
to see I think we're all leaning towards the Suns. Alex,
you'll tip seven goals, seven goals, five goals the Sun's yeah,
I'll got six. We're all going to be in the
middle around that thirty to forty market.
Speaker 1 (26:37):
We're all going.
Speaker 2 (26:38):
There we go.
Speaker 3 (26:39):
But Adelaide at Verse free Man or Adelaide Over, Who
is the next one we want to touch on?
Speaker 1 (26:42):
Saturday night? Saturday is not great?
Speaker 2 (26:44):
It's this over. It could be a decent game. Good
night to take your partner out for dinner. There game
I have on in the background.
Speaker 3 (26:50):
Venue.
Speaker 2 (26:51):
There we go Saturday night, eight ten at the Adelaide
Over Port.
Speaker 3 (26:54):
They've won their last seven home matches against Freer, which
is a little bit surprising, but really they've had a
good run under care and I guess so they've had
pretty good run there. But the Dockers they're six and
four away on the road this season, they've knocked off
some huge team six and four.
Speaker 2 (27:07):
You go, it's solid.
Speaker 3 (27:08):
But they've knocked off the Suns, the Pies and the
Giants in the last like seven weeks.
Speaker 1 (27:12):
Not pumped by the.
Speaker 2 (27:15):
Forgot about that guy?
Speaker 1 (27:16):
Remember that five and oh yeah, oh god it happened.
Speaker 2 (27:19):
That was very strange.
Speaker 3 (27:21):
We've talked about this exact thing all season. They're a
very emotionally led team. When when Ken has a few
tiers or he's getting up and about they can win,
they can beat the hawks that gather around. Obviously not
the second time, and superstar Travis Boke just announced his
retirement this week. He obviously had two club best and
faris he was the captain most games at the club.
He's also had three Australian jackets and a random staff
(27:42):
for it, Travis Boke is equal to Paul Salmon for
singing the song at the most afl VFL venues nineteen
so not not a bad little staff.
Speaker 5 (27:50):
I mean for someone who's played three hundred and eighty
odd games, how many Scott Pendlebury are.
Speaker 2 (27:54):
That's true, sixsws young guy. No, Harvey Thomas the other one.
Speaker 1 (28:00):
He's played like twenty games. He's played more venues than Pendlebury.
Speaker 5 (28:03):
But like this is also like Travis Boke getting this
close to four hundred games is a testament to his body,
like staying injury free. Also sports science as well, because
you look at all the four hundred gameers. I know,
Sean Bergle and hit it, but everyone else Victorian based
like David Munday and Pavlich.
Speaker 1 (28:18):
Got close to it over Frio. But for someone outside
of Victoria to wish he could have got there is
an amazing testament to him. Yeah, good gol.
Speaker 3 (28:28):
Just in terms of the emotion, can they get can
they lift for Boke and get a last win for
Ken in this one?
Speaker 1 (28:32):
Is there any.
Speaker 4 (28:32):
Chancellors reckon they're going to save that one for the
Gold Coast game, you know, just for the last game,
and they're really going to lift for this one?
Speaker 2 (28:39):
Probably not? Probably not, There's not.
Speaker 4 (28:41):
It's not like the last time. We're going to seem
both still playing out the year. Correct, Yeah, I think
I think we'll see it.
Speaker 2 (28:48):
In the last round. We'll talk about on the Dockers.
Speaker 3 (28:51):
They are the best statistically, which is a bit of
a surprise for a very informed team, the one nine
to the last ten, but the outside the top eight
for clearances, pointsberg game and kicking efficiency. But it's sort
of reminds I think Lea brought this up on the
Sunday Show that they find a way to win. They
continue to find a way to win, very similar to
the Pie's premiership run a few years ago where they
weren't winning all the statistics and then they somehow with
the game.
Speaker 4 (29:10):
Is that effect remember twenty two when they left the
prelium or twenty three when they won the.
Speaker 2 (29:14):
Twenty twenty three when they won the flag. They's a
lot of close wins and they weren't that good at
the statistics, but they keep winning.
Speaker 1 (29:20):
Is that a fair comparison to with thing.
Speaker 2 (29:22):
I feel like, No, I don't think it is, oh okay,
because I reckon this Frio side is a lot younger,
and I think their window is just opening.
Speaker 4 (29:28):
So I think it's the side that's still trying to
find its way and how exactly wants to play when
it's like, at its face, I'm on the.
Speaker 5 (29:34):
Wrong tag watch again because they're obviously going to tag
Caleb Strong, the easiest player in the competition to tag.
Speaker 1 (29:39):
Yet no one's done it since the Swans.
Speaker 2 (29:42):
Yes, you want to be free?
Speaker 1 (29:43):
Oh you stop Caleb Sarong and Jordan Clark.
Speaker 2 (29:47):
It's not hard.
Speaker 3 (29:48):
But there's another man that could get off the chain
if they're tagged Lea Well, I think drewma go to Sarong.
Speaker 4 (29:53):
Yeah, And I think because of that, and I'll get
on it with my big call. I think Andy Brayshaw
is set to.
Speaker 1 (29:58):
Explode in this from bad for my super Coach.
Speaker 2 (30:01):
Yeah, very nice.
Speaker 3 (30:02):
And lastly, on Port, surely they put Rosie on ice
he was out with illness when he's had a really
sore hand.
Speaker 2 (30:08):
Marcus is out with the illness.
Speaker 3 (30:10):
Yeah, yeah, he's been subbed out, but he's yeah, he's
he's got a hand injury right now. Surely they just
put him on icelids. Is that that's got a beit
the smartest, But he's a captain, he's one of your
best players.
Speaker 2 (30:19):
Yeah, he got it right, Like, there's no point painting.
Speaker 1 (30:21):
But I'm the same with in fairness, like a couple
of this Swans players, like why they're still playing?
Speaker 2 (30:25):
You got risk him getting in risk.
Speaker 5 (30:26):
But Tom mccatton gets another concussion again, Connor Rosie, Zach
Butters gets injured.
Speaker 2 (30:30):
But what are you doing?
Speaker 1 (30:31):
You're possibly going to screw up twenty twenty six.
Speaker 3 (30:34):
Yeah, they've already done that, I think port But we'll
touch on that for the rest of the season.
Speaker 1 (30:38):
Tips and margin, lads, where we go.
Speaker 2 (30:39):
On Leo, I'm gone Freo by forty in this one.
Speaker 1 (30:42):
Forty I'm on the same forty. Alex is a bit closer.
Speaker 5 (30:44):
Yeah, threeo three goals, just an unconvincing win. But Frio
get another win that they need to have.
Speaker 3 (30:49):
All right, that's very nice there Sunday fun day La likes.
They call it JWS verse North Melbourne Sunday or one
forty at Monica Oval. Now Leo Jennifers are actually five
and twelve in their last seventeen matches at Monica.
Speaker 2 (31:01):
Can they turn around that record? It was funny you
say that. I think you're a North fan trying to
be a little bit.
Speaker 3 (31:07):
Well.
Speaker 2 (31:07):
That did last eight.
Speaker 4 (31:08):
They're four and four, so it's really it's the eight
before where they get a little bit dicey. Recently they've
been a bit better, but I think absolutely they turned around.
Speaker 1 (31:16):
They were atrocious last week.
Speaker 2 (31:18):
They were dismal, pathetic eight. Kingsley was out of I
reckon Kingsley out of the week. They didn't even train.
He just got their heads and put him in his bicket.
Speaker 4 (31:26):
You put play well this week and got them really
fired up, and I reckon they'll be extra motivated. Callen
Ward officially announcing his retirement, which is obviously very sad.
He's an absolute legend of the game. I just wonder
if he's going to give him a pre game rev
up like he did against Richmond that.
Speaker 2 (31:43):
Saw and come back from five goals at three quarter
a time.
Speaker 1 (31:45):
Why would you waste the emotional rev up against North.
Speaker 4 (31:48):
Because it's it's it's come more every game from now
saved for finally are going to make Yeah, we don't
know about that.
Speaker 1 (31:56):
Save it for their first final. Don't waste it.
Speaker 2 (31:58):
He can do it every week. No, like I'm retiring again.
Speaker 1 (32:04):
As long as it's better than Dennis Pagan's speech were good.
Speaker 2 (32:06):
I didn't mind that. Who's Dennis Pagan?
Speaker 1 (32:10):
Yeah, he was a great coach, winning horse trainer. Who
he is group Dennis Pagan.
Speaker 2 (32:18):
I'm going to come over there anything.
Speaker 4 (32:21):
And Toby's back, Yes, great timing from his suspension. He
has a very interesting record against North Melbourne. He's very inaccurate.
So he's kicked thirteen goals twenty one from thirteen games
against North, but he averages twenty three disposals against North,
which is actually the most versus any club.
Speaker 1 (32:38):
Tracks.
Speaker 4 (32:39):
It does track, but given his his like he's getting older,
he's obviously still a star, but he might not find
it much of the get. So is this a chance
for North Melbourne actually clamp him down? Maybe doubtful, doubtful.
Speaker 2 (32:49):
Yeah, I don't know that one. Sorry about that one, now, Alex,
you you said to me.
Speaker 4 (32:53):
We're doing the will prep in the run cheat before
the show, and you said, Leo, I need to demand
to talk about Stephen Cannilio. He said, put him in
your GWS North game. So here's your here's your.
Speaker 5 (33:03):
Four if you want to win a flag. He can't
attend twenty center bounds, that's true, he would do it
like that. Their midfield has like they have been ravaged
within Drew throughout there. Obviously Buckley's out for a little
while now, Kelly keeps doing soft tissues. We've hardly seen
Brent Daniels all year as well. Toby just decides to
elbow his business partner. It's totally fine, but yeah, their
midfield mix just isn't really vibing for me at the moment.
(33:27):
And if he's having twenty center bounds like they're going
to beat North, that's fine. But if he has twenty
cent bounds attendance is in the final, they're gonna get smashed, slashed,
They're gonna get smashed.
Speaker 1 (33:35):
They're gonna get belted around to clearance. If he's having
twenty center bounce attendance, they are they are a midfielder short.
Speaker 2 (33:40):
Aren't you got green? You've got Callahan and then it's
just sort of that next one that they need probably
have to trade for.
Speaker 5 (33:45):
I would say, yeah, So no, Stephen Caneli if he's playing,
is a half forward flank of Ford pocket.
Speaker 1 (33:49):
That's his that's his role. He is not a full
time midfield don't mind.
Speaker 4 (33:53):
And we'll go to the forward line now. And Hogan's
been a bit banged up in recent weeks. I want
to know, do do we think that g W should
rest him for this one again?
Speaker 5 (34:00):
He's kicked like thirteen goals in his last like twelve
games or something like.
Speaker 1 (34:04):
His record in the last couple of months has been bad.
He's clearly sore. Yeah, rest him rest of the game
to win this game. He also broke his finger on
the bus on the way home from Monica last time.
Speaker 2 (34:16):
Right, that's right.
Speaker 1 (34:17):
Just don't go to Camber Jesse. It's bad for you.
Speaker 2 (34:19):
Remember we talked about on the show.
Speaker 4 (34:21):
It was very about Rosies Ill Cadman could kick ten,
he could true. True. Now we're going to talk about North. Yeah,
there's no Laky. No, there's no Curtis Liam, our North fan,
our North sufferer. I feel so sorry for you who
kicks North goals this week?
Speaker 1 (34:41):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (34:42):
Jaine.
Speaker 3 (34:43):
Get Jasey Garda down from the women's SAT No, can
we bring back wait Care, Can we bring back Gup
Brumer kicked a lot of goals in his last season.
Speaker 1 (34:50):
He's still running around local foot No, honestly, bring me in.
Speaker 2 (34:53):
Jordi Pain.
Speaker 3 (34:54):
We talked him up last week in the VF he
can't not get pictured. I think if he comes in
here at least kicked two. He's just he's a goal
sneaking He's a good kick for goals. So I hope
Jordy Paine can have an impact, but Curtis and Lucky
z has actually had a solid season in front of
the goals as well, So it's got to be he's
going to be the main man. It has to be
for North to stay in this and not make it.
I'd say fifty plus points. Zur harden Is kick at
least three and that's it's on him.
Speaker 2 (35:15):
But it's not the main man. Usually you know what
they should do. They you know in juniors when you
like give a few plays to the other team. They
did just give caadman For.
Speaker 5 (35:23):
A while, I was just going to say that, I
was going to say it's the under ten rule when
it hits ten goals, Mercy rule, you don't if you
don't count the score.
Speaker 2 (35:30):
There might be there might be a few of those. Yeah,
there might be a few of those.
Speaker 3 (35:33):
Alright, let's see if it's a mercy real Tips and
Martin Le Mercy rule enforced Giants by eighty four.
Speaker 1 (35:38):
Mercy rule in force seventy two.
Speaker 2 (35:40):
I'm going to say sixty. Is that mercy rul Ah,
that's sad. That's sad.
Speaker 3 (35:44):
Melbourne at versus Western Bulldogs. Let's get into this one
Sunday three point fifteen at the MCG. We've got a
new coach at Melbourne Ducks. Yeah, do the D's get
a new coach bounce from Troy? Troy chaplain like we
look into this like we're EPL fans here. There is
a new coach bounce ruling the EPL. It happens all
the time.
Speaker 1 (36:00):
If l I don't North want a few games where
they sacked their years ago, Yeah, without a lot of sacks.
I was about to say so, I should have just
asked you what's the record like with the new coaches.
Speaker 2 (36:09):
I tried not to think about it.
Speaker 1 (36:10):
Clarko's first gaming, first games, you went to and new
coach Bounce.
Speaker 2 (36:16):
Then he lost twenty.
Speaker 1 (36:18):
He won the one game that didn't matter.
Speaker 2 (36:21):
We're not talking about Northlands. Let's get into mun Do
the players.
Speaker 5 (36:26):
Care, like honestly, they've got nothing to really play for.
Their season is completely done. They had their win last week.
Like I did enjoy the press conference. That was a
little weird, but Simon Goodwin saying, yeah, I'm not going
to miss driving to Casey.
Speaker 4 (36:38):
I didn't mind.
Speaker 1 (36:38):
It's a thing. I worked in Crambon, which is next
to Casey, for six months. I legitimately got depressed every
day because you're driving there this time of year, it's cold,
the you know, the traffic on the Monash sometimes isn't great.
Speaker 2 (36:53):
It's just not fun.
Speaker 1 (36:54):
You're the Melbourne Demons. You going to Casey.
Speaker 2 (36:57):
Who wants to go to Casey.
Speaker 4 (36:59):
It's a very good, bad shout out to our Cramvern
and Casey fans at the time.
Speaker 1 (37:03):
Yeah, but also no big free agent has gone to
Melbourne in the last few years. Like this is why
I think their twenty twenty one flag is like you
look at it, it was during COVID.
Speaker 2 (37:13):
I can't know.
Speaker 1 (37:15):
I can't wait to drive to Casey.
Speaker 2 (37:17):
So I get out of the house.
Speaker 1 (37:18):
It was a positive in twenty twenty one.
Speaker 2 (37:21):
It isn't anymore.
Speaker 5 (37:22):
But Goodwood in the press conference, yes, today he had
the the was it A couple of the blokes last
year didn't wear the tire.
Speaker 1 (37:28):
Of the All Australia, So I'm going to get them.
He's like, I'm here because I've got to be here.
A few top buns were undone. He was making jokes.
Speaker 3 (37:34):
That's the most personality shown on in the press comings
in a while and I didn't mind it.
Speaker 1 (37:37):
I didn't mind the jokes made.
Speaker 3 (37:39):
He's just like, ah stuff and I want to flag
and I think a bit of respect on him. He
got them out of their flag draft. Obviously it was
in COVID, but then he went flag flags. A flag
was a fifty seven years. They didn't win a flag,
I think, and that's a fair effort from a coach.
So whatever you want to say about him, he's still
got a flag.
Speaker 1 (37:53):
We'll get to the game.
Speaker 5 (37:54):
Gordon in English would be fun because English has been
playing really well. Obviously gone top two ruck when in
the competition at the moment as he has been, so.
Speaker 1 (38:00):
That's going to be enjoyable there. But but Let's be real,
do the Dogs just belt them?
Speaker 5 (38:05):
They smoke GWS last week, And if we think g
WS or a finals contender, what the hell are the
Dogs going to do to the D's.
Speaker 4 (38:12):
Yeah, I just think that Dog's midfield is just going
to absolutely tear them to shreds in there.
Speaker 2 (38:16):
I know they've got some balls in there, the D's.
They got some good midfield.
Speaker 4 (38:20):
Players, but that Dog's midfield, when it gets going, it
is just so hard to stop.
Speaker 1 (38:24):
May and Lever sort of have checked out a little bit. Obviously.
He May has been injured a few times.
Speaker 5 (38:28):
Lever has been dropped like Norton's working his way in
towards top few and the com and Darcy's kicking goals
for fun. And the Dogs have scored one hundred and
thirty plus six times this year. That the highest scoring
team on the comp. But like, where do you see
it coming from the D's Like Bailey Fritz is averaging
three goals per game and his last four, but I
don't know.
Speaker 1 (38:46):
Yeah, they beat West Coast last week, big woop. Yeah,
it's a tough one, that's it, I think, because.
Speaker 5 (38:54):
Yeah, one of the Dogs, win Bars is going to
say the issue for the D's is like they've kind
of got some good players and then the rest aren't great.
Speaker 1 (39:00):
Like good ones are. We should be finals contenders. No, mate,
like you're heading in West Coast direction. I think their
list isn't too bad. It's just very a bit similar
to the seasons what we said about West Coast in
twenty twenty one. They've got to get ahead of it.
Speaker 3 (39:12):
Yeah, we've got a bit, we've got a bit lost there.
I think it was just because we're a bit rattled about.
No coach said where the demons are heading? I think,
as well, what do we do on the tipsy? I
think we're all leaning towards a big dogs win dogs
seventy nine, seventy.
Speaker 1 (39:23):
Nine, sixty one, Yeah, sixty sixty one.
Speaker 2 (39:27):
I have to look that. Twenty one twenty one.
Speaker 1 (39:29):
Yeah, I'm gonna go dogs by sixty.
Speaker 3 (39:31):
I think. Yeah, Aaron Norton awesome for me. He can
get a few more goals. I can't believe I'm saying
Aaron Norton's for me. He's been incredible.
Speaker 5 (39:37):
Ever since I said he and Aaron Francis are having
a mid off, Aaron Norton has not stopped kicking goals.
Speaker 2 (39:41):
And where is Aaron Francis.
Speaker 1 (39:43):
He's still playing for the Swans. Win last week?
Speaker 2 (39:45):
Yeah, true from the chest che check out true ones.
Speaker 3 (39:48):
Yes, last game of the round or West Coast verse Adelaide,
Sunday five ten at OPTAs Stadium the Crome.
Speaker 2 (39:54):
We got to start on them.
Speaker 1 (39:54):
We've got a lot of chrom fans in the comments.
Speaker 3 (39:56):
Their top of the ladder top three, and so many
statistics to three in offense, defense, contested possessions, goal accuracy
which is a good one I think, and the least
turnovers in the competition. Just all the sort of good
stats that you want to have, and lots of Crows
fans in the comments.
Speaker 1 (40:11):
Start.
Speaker 3 (40:11):
They don't want us to get ahead of ourselves with
the Crows. They were like, oh, we don't always go
well in the finals. We have to get ahead of
ourselves because they've been absolutely awesome. They were bottom five
in the league in three of the last four seasons.
Now they've jumped up to first. We've got to give
them their flowers, don't let's we got it.
Speaker 4 (40:24):
But at the same time, I want to keep the
Crows fans on side, so I think West Coast might
win this one.
Speaker 2 (40:28):
Shut We're not getting ahead of you there. I don't
know if that's good.
Speaker 1 (40:32):
I was about to say you and I saw this
coming from the Crows over here.
Speaker 2 (40:36):
He was a year earlier. I was like, I love
their list.
Speaker 3 (40:39):
I love this guy, this guy and this guy. Then
they finished bottom four. But I'm all aboard the crom
this couch. No.
Speaker 2 (40:44):
I definitely didn't have him in the bottom six this year,
like six though.
Speaker 3 (40:48):
Think so they exceeded my expectation. I was really keen
on him this year. Not fair enough that they can
win this. Yeah, I think they're going to win this
by a lot. In terms of the Eagles, something positive.
Ryan Marritch really has built his game for the Eagles
this year. A lot of super Coach fans have absolutely
loved him as well. He's averaging twenty one disposals and
three clearances and lifted without Harley Reid.
Speaker 1 (41:06):
Last game we said who's going to lift?
Speaker 3 (41:08):
He had twenty nine disposals in a goal that is
against It was against the D's, But I think he
could have another solid game. He's just actually a very
good player. Chessa was really solid last week. I mentioned
him and I think this is going to be a
really open game and for the likes of Chester on
the wing.
Speaker 5 (41:21):
He could get a few Chessa's playing for a new
contract and he's playing for a minimum contract on match payments.
Speaker 1 (41:27):
The way he's going.
Speaker 2 (41:28):
He had a really good game last week, so we'll
see if you can.
Speaker 3 (41:30):
Do that win again, do it again, Solly Goats as
Leio likes to call him, Sali Ego in the Crows midfield.
He's averaging twenty four disposals and one point two goals
across the last month as well, which is really good.
And the Crows all the stats lean towards a big win.
They've won the last six meetings and the last four
have been on an average winning margin of eighty three points.
Speaker 1 (41:49):
This is when Adelaide we're going terrible.
Speaker 2 (41:50):
Yeah, not wrong, not wrong.
Speaker 3 (41:52):
They've actually yeah, as I mentioned, three of the last
four season they've been in the bottom four and they're
still smashing the Eagles.
Speaker 2 (41:56):
Can this be the biggest margin of the season, lads?
Speaker 3 (41:58):
We've only had one game over one hundred point win
and can the Crows be the first team since the
Swan's in twenty twenty three over the Eagles to reach
the two hundred point mark?
Speaker 2 (42:07):
Is it possible?
Speaker 5 (42:08):
I don't think they'll get to two hundred because that
West Coast team dead set did not turn up to
Sydney that day.
Speaker 1 (42:14):
Yeah, they genuinely didn't try.
Speaker 5 (42:15):
It was I watched the highlights of that recently, just
as I wanted to remember how bad West Coast were.
Was that I was in the middle of the year,
so it was when the Swans started their charge up
into the ladder. When they snuck into finals, it was
when everyone had been injured let round. It was like
June sometime. But yeah, I think it'll be the biggest
win of the season. I don't think they'll hit two hundred,
but I think they'll score one sixty.
Speaker 1 (42:36):
Right, So what are they going to win? By them
one hundred and thirty.
Speaker 2 (42:38):
Seven and thirty seven?
Speaker 5 (42:40):
I figured out why you're You've been off Adelaide ever
since you proclaimed about the fan favorite and he got
dropped Lukey Peddler.
Speaker 1 (42:46):
But they definitely don't need Luke Pedler at the moment.
They Adelaide by one thirty seven.
Speaker 4 (42:51):
I'm going Crows by one hundred and five, and I
just think one little point the three headed monster is
going to tear Harry Edwards and rap Baso a new one, Jimmy. Yeah,
I feel sorry for Basoi.
Speaker 1 (43:03):
And the problem is if one of them has a
good defensive game, you've still got the other two who
kick goals. Are we thinking like twelve goals between the
three and them? I think must rankin Dawson a few
others popping up with goals as well.
Speaker 2 (43:14):
Yeah, I think twelve goals between the three.
Speaker 3 (43:16):
I'm going to be the only one that doesn't even
buy one hundred, just amasingly ninety points.
Speaker 2 (43:19):
I think the Crows win, but that was still absolutely.
Speaker 5 (43:21):
Also get Josh Warrell in the All Australian team, Yes,
big Josh roll guys.
Speaker 2 (43:26):
Yeah, there we go. He's on board as well.
Speaker 3 (43:27):
I like that. All right, that's all the games completed
for a round twenty two. Let's get into a little
bit chat about the Brownlow. I've got a couple of
questions here. Is Nick Dacos a lock for the Brown
He's obviously the favorite, and can Dawson, Anderson or anyone
else get over the top of him in this after
this season?
Speaker 2 (43:42):
I think it's out of those three, isn't it.
Speaker 4 (43:43):
Yeah? I think Dekos for mine is still ahead at
this stage, and I think we'll just keep a close
on on these last three weeks whether Dawson and Anderson
can really lift and keep polling. I think Dawson would
have polled last week. I think Anderson would have as well.
Deacos probably not, so would.
Speaker 2 (44:00):
Just keep a little truck in.
Speaker 5 (44:02):
The last four games since their slides happened. So you
think that loss against Freer, you'd think Vos and Sarong
will get votes. Decos might get one. He'll get three
against Richmonds, so he's probably got four votes in his
last four games, whereas Anderson's every chance of having you know,
eight or nine. He won't get one against when they
lost to Adelaide. Dawson will get votes like he was
(44:23):
great last week as well. So Dekos is in front
at the moment. But the way that Dawson and Anderson
are closing, and they've got a better drawer as well
in the final games, I think they are a chance.
It just depends how Dakos has gone. When he exploded, Yeah,
that was like a six eight week. But there's a
few people I hate Nick Dacos, No, I don't. I
think he's a great player. I think he can be
better than what he is, which is this scary thing. Yep,
(44:45):
he will be in front right now.
Speaker 2 (44:46):
I think he's in front of a big game on Thursday.
Could really extend it for him.
Speaker 3 (44:50):
I think the g I reckon he could get a
few votes and yeah fly away and the Brownlow there
lock of the week and a big goals is how
we always finished the show on the Wednesday. Here we go,
lock Leo your lock of the week, Cats win, lock
it in, Eddie Kats win.
Speaker 2 (45:03):
Very easy. I think I've gone against Essendon every week.
I don't worry.
Speaker 1 (45:07):
I was trying to figure out a way to get
Adelaide win.
Speaker 2 (45:11):
Adelaide win. Yeah, I think that's an easy one.
Speaker 3 (45:13):
I'm going to go Cadmen two plus against North, especially
if Hogan doesn't play.
Speaker 5 (45:16):
What if he gets like one four, that's going to
be so funny, Like, didn't the two plus let you down?
Speaker 1 (45:21):
One of you down there?
Speaker 3 (45:21):
It was actually Cadman last time. So I'm back on
the Cadman track against North. I think that's an absolute lock.
Speaker 2 (45:27):
It's the definition of insanity.
Speaker 1 (45:28):
Doing the same thing over and over again.
Speaker 2 (45:30):
Yeah, we'll see my insane host.
Speaker 3 (45:33):
Yeah, I almost insane. Let's get into some big calls.
They're pretty insane, Leo, wats your big call?
Speaker 4 (45:37):
Well, I did touch on it in the Portfrio game.
I think Brayshaw has thirty disposals and a goal in
this one because I just think Drew will go to
Sarong and in the recent weeks Port Adelaide have given
up thirty plus disposals and four goals to Bailey Smith,
Max Holmes and Jake Saligo. So I think that's a
good little st Yeah. I just think Brayshaw is the
(45:58):
one that will break through and dominate.
Speaker 3 (46:00):
Nice Alex out of by one hundred plus one hundred plus,
So yeah, that could almost be a lock.
Speaker 1 (46:06):
Yea you asked me said this in the pre production meeting. Yeah,
which one's the lock?
Speaker 4 (46:10):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (46:11):
Which one is? Surely? I don't know. I've had one
hundred will seeds might be callers.
Speaker 3 (46:14):
Jeremy Cameron outscores sen and Alex mentioned it before, but
he had six goals last time he played against the
Bombers and Jesus.
Speaker 1 (46:20):
This is his stats across the last three weeks.
Speaker 3 (46:22):
For his own personal scoring output, He's averaging forty five
points himself. Across the last three games, Essen and are
averaging forty nine points across the last four games, so
you've put them up against each other. I think Jesse
can get one more goal in that get him up
to fifty one points and the Bombers might not even
get fifty points themselves, so so.
Speaker 2 (46:39):
You take the unders in that one.
Speaker 1 (46:40):
Taking the unders for sure, especially for the Bombers. There
should be ahead to head somewhere.
Speaker 3 (46:43):
Jes jesivers, that'd be absolutely crazy. Anyway, that's all about
