Speaker 1 (00:00):
AFL Today is around twenty two. Rap is here right now?
What do we talk about, lads?

Speaker 2 (00:04):
I just loved what my beloved Hawks did on Thursday night.

Speaker 1 (00:07):
Are the pies Collie wobbling? Ooh?

Speaker 3 (00:09):
And Alex Pierce with his long hair rising like Jesus
to become the most clutch me in this realm.

Speaker 1 (00:15):
Yes, we'll call him clutch Man. Or check out AFL
Today right now around twenty two is done and dusted
and welcome back to the AFL Today Show, brought to
you by Stockhead. I'm your host, Lia mckelly and also
known as the Stats Guy. I got that two chuckleheads
on the couch, Leo Malley Marcus Barzano. I'm gonna say, Leo,
you're gonna be up and about.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
As a Hawks fan, mate, I've been about as always
what around in football. We went into this thinking it
was going to be a terrible round and there.

Speaker 1 (00:41):
Were close results galore. We're going to cover it all
and pau Zac merritt. He hurt his don't hurt live down.
He hurt his hand and look, oh, just want to
take care of his precious hands. You should go over
and care for him, maybe make him some soup or
something something in mind. Oh, there we go. That's good.
Make sure you subscribe to AFL Today on YouTube. What

(01:01):
the million subscribers went on for tenk?

Speaker 3 (01:04):
You know they let us down last week. We didn't
hit a million, so let's do. Let's do's the next goal?

Speaker 1 (01:09):
Yeah we've got eight hundred and fifty. I reckon? Yeah,
I love that. Follow us on all the socials x, Facebook,
Instagram and TikTok AFL Today AU except for Facebook. That's
Aussie Rules Today for more forty content all season long.
Make sure you keep going in the comments. We had
some awesome comments over the last couple of weeks, so
keep them coming. We'll reply to them as well over
the coming weeks as well, which is good fun. Let's
get into it. As Leo I mentioned, actually was an

(01:30):
awesome round of forty around twenty two results. Here we go.
Thursday night at the MCG was Hawthorne verse Collingwood. Hawthorne
seventeen goals eight, one hundred and ten absolutely smashed Collingwood
six goals ten forty six.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
What a result this was, Marcus, Yeah, this poised to
be one of the games.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
I'm just going to like, I'm just going to ignore him.

Speaker 3 (01:48):
This is poised to be one of the games of
the round, but it's sort of like on the field
it was anything but.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:54):
But the Hawks they keep their season lively with a
monster win in steel Side bottom three hundred and fiftieth,
so they came to spoil the party, which they did indeed,
And actually, fun fact for you boys, the first time
Colin would have conceded one hundred points this season since
the gb West in the opening round, and the most
amount of points they've conceded since they played Hawthorne this

(02:16):
time last year around round nineteen.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
What we do that is because I've mean the number
one defense for the last I saw sort of ten
weeks or so, and everything it's followed apart a little bit,
it was, it has fallen apart.

Speaker 3 (02:28):
And let me tell you boys, it's a time to
worry there in Collingwood because they've lost four of the
last five matches. They've got Adelaide and Melbourne to finish
the season, who are both playing pretty decent football.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
So leo, do we worry? Do we have to worry?
I think you have to worrow. Take the grit off
his face. He's like, yeah, we do have to.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
Worry this happy Hawthorne one. I think it's not worrying
about Collingwood. It's the collea wobble a little bit just
in their midfield's a little bit one pace. Now, there
are a lot of stars in there. You know what
Nick Dacos can give you. He's an absolute star. He's got
our acceleration coming out the wazoo. But Titch Long and
even Pendle's crisp and Jordan Degoeye at times they just

(03:11):
sort of like that explosive to this and that sort
of burst to not only apply pressure, do that defensive work,
but also start an offensive chain as well. I think
they're really missing McCreary in there, because that's a big call.
Is they put him in there for the for the
burst every now and then, and even if he doesn't
get a possession or a clearance, his calls and havoc
and he's got that speed for him. I reckon he's

(03:33):
a very underrated out for them in that midfield in particular.

Speaker 3 (03:37):
And doomsday scenario for Collingwood, right, let's just say they
lose both of their final two games against Adelaide and Melbourne.
Is there a world where we see Collingwood missed the
eight after being topped just two weeks ago.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
Surely not.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
And Hawthorne, you know, sneak their way in after it
looked like it was all done.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
Red Rover for the Hawks.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
I think there is There is definitely a world. I
think I was a triple m posting all the things
that need to happen. There a lot of things. I
think there are about twenty things on that checklist that
had to happen. So if you're a Pies fan, I think, yep,
you're fine.

Speaker 1 (04:10):
I think they should be worried. Obviously, top four, I
reckon they're they're probably cooked for that because it's so close. Yeah,
I reckon that if Melbourne played like they did today,
which will touch on later, they could touch up the
Pies at the G. I reckon. I don't know. If
they touch up the Hawks at the G next week,
we'll get onto that, get onto that as well.

Speaker 3 (04:25):
Yeah, there we go, Lord meet. It was incredible stars Cameron.
He had a very very good game. Cameron got meeked.
He had a career high three goals and seven score involvements,
but that was helped with the early injury to Jeremy Howe.
In the opening minutes of the game. It paved the
way for the Hawks tall attack and we're talking about

(04:47):
how they're going to thrive in the air against this well,
possibly Colin would have one of the best intercept possession
teams in the competition.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (04:53):
But the four tools in the forward line plus Meek
combined for twelve goals. You compare that to mix Day,
my check and Memory they kick three between them. But
Mixday did have to go down back at different portions
of that game. So that's a little shout out to
Alex's triple m theory in the midweek show. So a

(05:16):
little bit of concerning someone's there for Collingwood and the
injury list is starting to rack up a little bit.

Speaker 1 (05:20):
And he's starting to rack up.

Speaker 2 (05:22):
And look, you bring up the tall forward line and
a lot of question marks around it, and I still
got my I guess suspicions on whether it'll work. But
it did work in this game. Obviously helped with how
going out. He's a big loss forum, but I thought
it was the smallest as well for Hawthorne. Every time
he hit the ground, I felt like, as being a

(05:42):
Hawthorne fan watching, I felt like we were going to score.
Something was going to happen. You know.

Speaker 1 (05:45):
Nick Watson was as lively as anything.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
It kicks the first two of the game, and they
were through very shaky defensive moments I think from Darcy
Moore just palming a dame and then framptom I think
it was dropping a chess mark was over it.

Speaker 1 (05:58):
So there are a few shaky moment moments there.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
So Watson, you know, first two goals to sort of
create that buzz that was important for Hawthorne, and I just.

Speaker 1 (06:06):
Felt defensively for the Pies.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
Apart from Quayner, I just thought their defense was very
shaky and just very suspects. You know.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
Houston and Perryman two big recruits.

Speaker 2 (06:15):
Now they've probably had their moments throughout the year where
they've been good, but recent recent time they were poor,
and I thought they were poor again on the week
and I think Houston did a switch kick that landed
straight to Dan broso he just went back hit up Lewis.

Speaker 1 (06:28):
He's lost a little bit of confidence confidence.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
I don't reckon they're using him enough. And Perryman used
to be such a good lockdown, but he was trailing
the Wizard by a long way on a few different occasions,
and Genevan has twenty six disposals just he loves playing
against these he loves playing against him. But I just think,
apart from Quayne and that defense is completely out of forms.

Speaker 3 (06:47):
A little bit undwhelming, isn't it. I don't know if
they're being talked about enough Houston Perrrim, but I think
in the dying weeks to this regular season that they
will win throughout the final series for sure. It's our
job man, and talk about not only defensively were they
a little bit shaky, but also on the other end
of the field. We got they went at thirteen percent
goal efficiency calling with that and the AFL average is
twenty and Colin would sit above that about twenty three

(07:10):
or twenty five percent. So that's a really poor effort
for them. And what was a very low pressure match
when you know Hawthorne only laid do you have a
top of your heads about thirty nine tackles I believe
around that March, yeah, around the high thirties, yeah, which
you look at that last time they played each other,
Hawthorne only laid thirty seven tackles of thirty six tackles, yep.
And it was completely different game, different contrast, but they

(07:31):
just couldn't seem to find that effort inside fifty and
just seventy nine tackles combined for both clubs in this
game and for the number one and number six rated
teams in the competition for tackling. That was a very
low pressure game, which was surprising, which possibly played into
Hawthorne's favor after such a big, contest contested game against
Adelaide the week.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
I think I think we needed that and I think
we're very happy that they panned out like that.

Speaker 1 (07:56):
Yeah, I think you're very happy, lad, you're a bit
more confidence for finalst Melbourne and GWS solutes to gold
host and yes I am. Oh geez, there's a few
things that have to happen from still already we're a
little bit worried about the pipe. We'll see what happens over
the next couple of weeks. Next one is Friday Night
at Goodbar g m HbA Stadium, Geelong, Essendon, Geelong fifteen
goals nineteen one hundred and nine sen and ten goals

(08:16):
five sixty five. We always talk about Jazz. What happened there.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
We were on these ton Watch we talked about a
past mark. I think you said eight Statskuya goals, four goals,
five big missed opportunity here, and you'd think now that
if he's any chance of the time, it's going to
have to be deep into finals. And dare I say
storming the mcg on Grand Final days?

Speaker 1 (08:41):
That would be nuts. I would hate that, I reckon because.

Speaker 2 (08:47):
It's along the.

Speaker 3 (08:47):
Playing Imagine he kicks a hundred just before half time,
they're getting ready to do the half.

Speaker 1 (08:51):
Turn before everything on the ground or that could be
an hour and hume, maybe if he kicks it at
the halftime siren that we get to join in on
the half time entertainment whoever it is on the ground
to do dancers or whatever you want to do. Yeah,
what's a dog up there?

Speaker 2 (09:07):
Legal? Look the Cats they were on song early in
this one, and it was actually Shannoneil who kind of
took the lineline away from Cameron. He kicked three goals
in the opening quarter. He started the game really well.
Bazz's run and.

Speaker 1 (09:20):
Carry was really good. He was influential.

Speaker 2 (09:22):
He picked up three goal assists with thirty one disposals.
I just felt like every time Geelong removing the ball
forward and actually gaining some territory and some grand It
was through him anything meaningful at least. And look the Cats.
They got out to a forty four point lead during
the third quarter, and we all thought Jesus could really
push towards eighty plus here. But massive credit to the

(09:44):
Bombers their ability to show some fight. And I want
to highlight Liam McMahon and man with the best initials
going around, kicked four goals, showed some forward craft, nice
forward craft. But he does lose some ara boys because
he cried he had a suck post because had something
nice to say about it.

Speaker 1 (10:04):
I'm kidding. Richard known crier on field to I'm kidding
he was, so maybe that's why they liked it because
he loved Richard back in.

Speaker 2 (10:11):
There now I'm obviously I'm taking the p I double five.
It was a great moment and it was It was
a bit wholesome, wasn't it? Because he was a Richard
fan growing up. Richard was his favorite player, so for
him to hear it it was lovely.

Speaker 3 (10:21):
Is a Richmond fan growing up. He's played for Carlton Collingwood, Nessenon.
He's already completed the Trinity.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
Might get traded to Saint Kildo next. That'll be a
shocked to him. Look, Jaden Ewan, he's the other one
I want to talk about. Was awesome. I love his fight,
he's scrappiness. He keeps single goalless seven tackles as well.
I love what he brings to the table. Bit of
dog about him. He's awesome and I just want to

(10:51):
throw it at my good man Marcus any quick bombers
shout out, you want to give thought.

Speaker 1 (10:55):
Archie Roberts was fantastic. He was.

Speaker 3 (10:57):
He's just so composed for such a young is like
three players around him. He will just hold onto the ball,
look around. Sometimes he does. He bites off a little
bit more they can chew. But he was fantastic at
thirty three disposals. It's just a shame that there's been
so many other good rising stars in the competition around him.
But another injury this time, well another.

Speaker 1 (11:18):
Pair of injury. Oh my god, merit obviously broken hand
and lum in the wall. Unknown whether we'll play next week,
but yeah, Lawol was a bit of a friendly fire.
So Dylan Sheer absolute coward putting his teammate, sorry, his
opponent under the ball. If you're pushing. I said this
the other week when the AFOL sort of cracked out
on it. I reckon, you should get four weeks plus
for pushing anyone under the ball. It's the most coward

(11:40):
thing he can do. I don't think he was obviously
trying to hurt his teammate, but if you're pushing your
player under the ball when there's four players around you,
he could have literally broken his neck all like, he
landed literally on his neck. Imagine Shield did that to him.
Brad Scott said after the game. Oh, I don't know
if you can get reported for doing that to your
own teammate. It's not I don't think it's about the outcome.
Anything could have happened when he's pushed his player under
the ball. So I don't like that. Well ours because

(12:00):
you've been sent to the tribrunal. So yes, so you
could get that's usually about three weeks minimum, right I think, yeah,
So we have to wait and see during the week
and we'll discuss that during the week. Absolutely, by the yes,
sid the Bombers to so many injuries. They actually put
up a good fight until late in that game, and
Jessa just a bit efforts. What we want to say,
just kick nine next time, Jesse, what are you doing?
I love how we're disappointed with four as well. Four

(12:21):
or five? Yeah, not bad. Saturday at the mcg let's
touch on this one. Richmond at Saint Kilda. Richmond seven goals,
ten fifty two, Saint Kilda eight goals, eight fifty six.
I gotta start e lads. There's Saints up five and zero.
Since the return of their candy stripe kit in twenty
twenty four, should they wear it every week?

Speaker 2 (12:38):
Oh? It's a great kit, it's a great kid. It's
pleasing on the eye.

Speaker 1 (12:41):
You can't wear it every week because then it ruins
its aura.

Speaker 2 (12:44):
Okay, so long in our Grand Final whenever they make
it twenty ninety two, I think so.

Speaker 1 (12:49):
Now that's a bit harsh. I want to touch on
the Tigers first, because they were just really good again.
They played really well, good defensive structure and tactics I
think from Adamus. They allowed the Saints to go sideways
control the ball. The first quarter. The Saints had forty
eight uncontested marks just in that first quarter alone. The
Saints they played slow forty early in the Tigers they
were just playing attacking through the middle, of the ground.
They were showing a bit of flair, which I really loved.

(13:11):
Guys that we've talked about sort of early on this season,
especially Ben Miller. He stood up again, funky funky Miller
at fifteen disposed was eight marks, seven intercepts and Tyler
Sonzy was really solid as well. Twenty disposal was four
score envolments. So just guys, So every few weeks that
we touched on and go, oh, they're not too bad
for Richmond and people need to talk about him, which
is pretty good. But Marcus. The one thing that let

(13:31):
Richmond down was a leader in the very last player
of the game. He may or may not wear a headband.
What was going on. They had the chance to win
it there, Richmond.

Speaker 3 (13:38):
They had the Caunter attack, slow half back and Macintosh
with all the space in the world. He had Tom
Brown to the left of him. He could have dished
off the hand pass as the pressure approach, but to
continue to hold the ball and try and progress it
through the middle.

Speaker 1 (13:50):
Of the ground and you just ran too far. It
was just a bit of a brain fade.

Speaker 3 (13:53):
I reckon he was continue I was going to say,
you might steal I think you're going to ste we
stay together.

Speaker 2 (13:58):
I reckon he was frazzled by a Marshall pull of.

Speaker 1 (14:01):
Their head bend. The audio listeners will loveinity. It's gone
all right over there. I don't know about that one.
Let me get this back on track. The Saints they
did it again. This is what I'm going to just
touch on this every single time. The Saints player of this.
They played a lot more daring and attacking in the
last quarter, so they had three goals to one in

(14:21):
the last quarter. Some things didn't pay off because they
had a few turnovers and things like that. But Ross,
if you're watching Ross lyon, play attacking football throughout the
whole game and you'll win games of footage. They played
an absolutely awesome quarter against Melbourne. Obviously the massive comeback.
What do they do there? Played up the middle, played
really attacking the last quarter here was a lot more attacking,
a lot more fun to watch, not just fun to watch,
got them to win. So I reckon, if they started

(14:42):
this type of attacking play from the start of the game,
they could have absolutely smashed Richmond. I don't know what
you guys think. Can they sustain that type of play.
I'm not sure, but they should go for it a
bit more.

Speaker 2 (14:51):
They probably don't have the personel I reckon those young
kids now we need another thirty games in the Oka
learned that system.

Speaker 1 (14:59):
But I do agree with you it's frustrating. If I
was a Saints fan, I'd go, we actually have something here.
Maybe next year they'll play a bit more attacking like
the finals few years ago. But that was just a
bit frustrating. Two guys that I want to touch on
is nas obviously the god himself, and Windager. They're an
awesome combo leo. Was Windeger better than Nasa or do
we think you think he's still better?

Speaker 2 (15:18):
Of course?

Speaker 1 (15:18):
Oh my god, out of wind was great. But Nas
on the MCG, I won more Saints games at the
MCG because he's absolutely awesome to watch. He had thirty
three disposals and I don't know if he just put
a spell on the ball. That goal that he got,
it was bouncing at right angles and somehow bounced in.
He can just do it all. Nas so absolutely love.
That goal is a crazy one. And Windeg, as I
just mentioned, he's two way running, was absolutely awesome. Thirty

(15:40):
two disposals, six tackles, nine marks. You did mention that
he has a good all round game, and he showed
that does. He runs both ways. He's a very he's
a smart player too. Yeah, I just don't think he
has the consistency of NASA getting the best out of
him by having him as a tagger.

Speaker 3 (15:55):
I don't tagging, not recently, but I'm just saying, like,
this is the topic game that he has without tagging.

Speaker 1 (16:02):
Yeah, does he.

Speaker 2 (16:02):
Well, that's his ceiling, I reckon that's his next step
is to become that a grade mid.

Speaker 1 (16:06):
No good call anyway. The Saints get the job done,
another close win. But the Tigers, they put up a
strong fight. They having a pretty solid season themselves, all right.
Saturday at the Gabba is the next one, Brisbane taking
on Sydney. Brisbane thirteen goals twelve at ninety Sydney thirteen
goals fourteen. Got the upset. We're in ninety two. We
should have seen this coming, lads. The Swans haven't lost
in round twenty two. This is a funny one. Since

(16:28):
twenty thirteen. They haven't lost it round twenty two. We
should have just penciled it in plast twelve years old
and that I haven't.

Speaker 2 (16:33):
Oh my god, No, we shouldn't We should have seen
this coming, shouldn't we? And what we should have also
seen coming is a bit of Isaac Heeney dominance, because
it's not the first time this season he has had
more than twenty disposals and five goals as well. There
he is beautiful. Yeah, Alex will be having some fun
without this week. We no doubt about it.

Speaker 1 (16:54):
But it's a he says. No.

Speaker 2 (16:57):
It is the third time he's had twenty plus disposals
and five plus goals this season, five and twenty three
on this occasion, and overall his goal tally for the
season is now thirty five goals. Dad's all Australian forward flank.

Speaker 1 (17:12):
I think it just gets ahead of Casey for me.

Speaker 3 (17:14):
Okay, Cozy on the bench, Cosy on the bench probably
still yes, with Heeni.

Speaker 1 (17:19):
And Rankin on the forward flanks.

Speaker 2 (17:20):
Yeah, I think I agree with that.

Speaker 1 (17:21):
I think he's gone under the raidar a little bit
because Sidney haven't been as good. And I actually don't
mind that shout. It rattles me a bit because I
thought Cosey has had a great year, but he he's
probably been more consistent, which is a bit of an
interesting one. I'd say, but yeah, which.

Speaker 2 (17:33):
We haven't talked about him and I haven't talked about it,
but I think good on him. Yeah, and all of
his goals were snaps too. Really, you know snapper from
Port Phillip that calls up.

Speaker 1 (17:43):
That is such a neat. I feel like that was
just he on Saturday snapping them.

Speaker 2 (17:47):
Ryan said he took a great specky.

Speaker 1 (17:49):
Too, seem Draper somewhat so oh, yes, Draper loves a snap,
doesn't he. I didn't know what you're talking about then.

Speaker 2 (17:57):
But on the game, on the game, the scoreboard I
don't think really did it justice. The Swans were so
dominant getting to that five goal buffer. You know, you
got Chad with twenty six and two, Cunningham beating Cameron
again and Shaldrick playing an awesome role on the inside.
Beef Sheldrick absolutely great from him, and just ultimately that

(18:17):
sort of I guess the injuries surrounding that Brisbane team,
we know that they've got a lot at the moment.
They really struggled with that defensively. Just to have that
depth come through did well against the Pies, but obviously
not in this game. Dunkley mcclug Wilmott who had twenty
seven and two I thought were all super impressive and
then they out of nowhere three goals in sixty seconds

(18:38):
to get them within two points in four seconds on
the clock, and you're going, ah, they just don't have nasts.

Speaker 1 (18:45):
They just can't get.

Speaker 2 (18:47):
Check the six six to six if you don't have
Jack Viney going like what were am I?

Speaker 1 (18:53):
But it was they weren't going to win from that point.

Speaker 2 (18:57):
They just weren't. Everyone thought maybe, but no, and look Brisbane,
they get belted by the Sons. They come out and
they beat Collingwood away from home and then they drop
this one against the Swans. Are they just the weirdest
team in the AFL right now.

Speaker 1 (19:12):
They're pushing for the against the Dogs. I reckon for
weirdest team. That's weird. Frio is pretty weird. There's a
really weird teams.

Speaker 3 (19:17):
They're completely opposite from two years ago when we're talking
about they can't win away from home home form the
absolute Guns.

Speaker 1 (19:23):
But it's complete opposite the Sea. It's so weird.

Speaker 2 (19:25):
And with Freeman all away to come Hawthorne at home,
could they miss finals?

Speaker 1 (19:30):
I feel like we say this every second week and
then the week.

Speaker 2 (19:34):
Every day win and then we go, okay, they probably
should make finals and when they lose.

Speaker 1 (19:39):
Put your house on the line. Next week.

Speaker 2 (19:41):
They've been seeing actually if they're a lock to win,
that they were my lock to beat Freo.

Speaker 1 (19:45):
That's away as well. I think Stadia win. You can
put a big.

Speaker 2 (19:51):
And say that. I think they'll still make finals. I
think they'll win one of the last too and seal it.
But it's just funny to me, how weird they've been
just locking finals boys.

Speaker 1 (20:00):
Lions fans to be very frustrated because that is just
not one of the games they should lose. And then
in terms of Sydney, I think could have been the
flag next year. I like to win the flag next year. No,
they're going to lose the Grand five. Stole my joke
to Sack that. What do you mean to say? I
threw it up to you, damnit. That's all right, Let's
get to the next one. Sweart Ley Saturday A, Marvel Stadium, Carlton,
Gold Coast Carlton eleven goals eight to seventy four, Gold

(20:22):
Coast thirteen goals, fifteen and ninety three. The Blues they
started strongly Marcus, but they couldn't get the job done. Obviously, No,
they did.

Speaker 3 (20:29):
Start strongly, but it was Dimmer who triumphed in his
three hundred and fiftieth game as coach. He got rid
of the Marvel curse as he has in the last
couple of games. But all us talk on Dimmer actually
got to be a fun one.

Speaker 1 (20:42):
For you boys.

Speaker 3 (20:43):
As far as the first three hundred and fifty, three
hundred and fifty games as coach in the AFL era,
is he arguably one of the best first three hundred
and fifty game coaches series. Obviously you have Clarko, you
have Chris Scott in their first place fifty, but Dimmer
has one three flags and he's taken the Sons to
their first ever finals series in history.

Speaker 1 (21:05):
Well not officially just yet, but they're in there pretty much.
In Yeah, I think because the flags put him probably
in the argument for number one. But as a coach,
do you prefer Chris Scott as a coach? I think
I do prefer Chris Scott. But you've got Clarko. You've
got a lot of player Clarko.

Speaker 2 (21:22):
He's been a Scollarton as a Hawks man. He was
a great to be fair clark He can.

Speaker 1 (21:28):
To be fair. Clarko and Chris Corre did inherit very
very good team. Clarko did not inherit a good Hawthorne team.
It was a decent Hawthorne. They were like bottom four.
He did not inherit a good Hawthorne team. Yeah that's true.

Speaker 2 (21:42):
Sorry, they did get draft assistance, but he didn't inherit.
But it could be Gold Coast best ever coach he
could be. Yeah, just for McKenna.

Speaker 1 (21:50):
No here, Gary Abbott was the difference in the sideboys.

Speaker 3 (21:56):
The difference in the game story was being able to
hit their targets inside fifteen compared to the Blues and maca.

Speaker 1 (22:04):
Ben King sorry reaped the rewards. He booted six goals
and he took an absolute hangar. He took a Mark
of the year, contended I reckon. They could be Marked
of the year because he was up there for so long.

Speaker 3 (22:17):
He was written specky McGhee while he was up there
taking tips, and then he read the Bible.

Speaker 1 (22:21):
He was still still going.

Speaker 2 (22:23):
So pel McGee was the Bible.

Speaker 1 (22:24):
So Paul lewis young.

Speaker 3 (22:27):
He might get some photos in the group chat was
like gobs back did see he was just like, oh
was young.

Speaker 1 (22:34):
Yeah, he was so and the Suns there were a lot.
We mentioned it.

Speaker 3 (22:38):
There are a lot to play finals now and possibly
with the double chance, they have a fairly.

Speaker 1 (22:44):
Coin sort of fiction the end of the season.

Speaker 3 (22:45):
The only tough fixture is GBS at home, which they
have a great recorder. But in my ladder predictor, I've
got Devin sneaking into the top two percent one percentage.

Speaker 1 (22:58):
That's a good question. I know they've got bombers.

Speaker 2 (23:01):
I met.

Speaker 1 (23:02):
I meant four in the finals.

Speaker 3 (23:04):
Whoever finished his third mate? Most likely probably I had
Q clash.

Speaker 1 (23:13):
Sorry, sorry, I'm going to lose my words. Well, let's
get back onto the game and we'll go to Carlton. Now.
They gave their fans something to cheer about. Towards the
end of the game.

Speaker 3 (23:21):
They kicked six the last seven goals, including five in
the final quarter. Everyone was thinking, Marvel Stadium come back?
Is this the same killed in Melbourne?

Speaker 1 (23:31):
Could we do it? They didn't have nas.

Speaker 3 (23:33):
They couldn't quite do it. They didn't have NAS. And
now that Voss got confirmed during the week to be
the coach between twenty six, do we think that's the
right move?

Speaker 2 (23:42):
No?

Speaker 1 (23:43):
No, I agree, I think they need a reset. There's
a lot going on. It came they need a reset.

Speaker 2 (23:46):
Yeah. I've thought about this long and hard throughout the season,
and I just think there are a lot of experienced
coaches out there, and I think when you've got Adam Simpson,
maybe Nathan.

Speaker 1 (23:55):
Buckley, like horse Horse said he's not going to coach
next year.

Speaker 2 (23:59):
But I know we say maybe that was just Melbourne
because maybe you want to take out a carton.

Speaker 1 (24:04):
Really either, who wants to drive down the case? He
certainly not Simon? Good one quack? Yeah, who wants to
get sucked the coach on the carton? Uh? Three to sevens?

Speaker 3 (24:19):
Quick shout out for him because he kicks a career
high four goals and he was the.

Speaker 1 (24:22):
Tank was he actually was pretty solid and Gold Coast
get another good win and that is crazy. Hey Leo,
quick question? Do you know what the AX means? Uh?
Do you mean a f l X?

Speaker 3 (24:33):
No?

Speaker 1 (24:34):
Mate?

Speaker 2 (24:34):
The AX the Australian Stock Exchange. Oh man, I'm absolutely
clueless for that stuff.

Speaker 1 (24:39):
Well, lucky for you, stock It is a free website
that gives you everything you need to know about punting
stocks on the AX. Damn that sounds pretty good. Where
do I check them out, check it out via stock
are dot com, dot you and it's even easy for
your little p brain to understand. Damn all right, Saturday
night is the next one? Adelaide over Port Adelaide Free.
What a game this was? Port Adelaide thirteen goals eight

(25:00):
eighty six, Frio thirteen goals fourteen ninety two. This turned
out to be in absolutely awesome game. Lads and Frio.
They don't know how to lose. They've won nine of them. Sorry,
let me do that again. They won ten of their
last eleven. I keep having to add it up because
they just keep winning so many awesome moments. Do we
think this was going to be a good game, No,
we didn't know.

Speaker 2 (25:17):
We didn't. And forget Freeman with clutch Mantle Neil clutch
Mantala man clutching up.

Speaker 1 (25:23):
They do, they do. And one man that was the
most clutch was Alex Piss. He was the match that
the Leo Barry style marker just down the other end
of the ground. He's come all the way from the fence,
come up into the forward line, taking an awesome mark
kick the match winner in the last minute, only the
eighth goal of his career. Lads across one hundred and
thirty four games and he kicks the match winner. If
you take a mark like that, you have to go

(25:44):
on and kick the goal. Even his kicking action, I
always was always worried when he kicks the goal because
he drops it very high.

Speaker 3 (25:49):
It was like Leo in the previous game and was
coming in with a joke and he missed it.

Speaker 2 (25:53):
Going with a joke, I was just trying to there
you go for a living exactly right, Freo.

Speaker 1 (25:59):
They've been so clutched this season. They kicked four of
the last five goals in this game. That were one
of the worst final quarter teams last season to now
winning five of their last seven games after trailing at
three quarter time, so across that seven game span, they're
the third team in history to have that run across
the seven games, which is pretty incredible. From last season.

Speaker 2 (26:17):
Pies in twenty twenty two was one of the others.

Speaker 1 (26:20):
In nineteen fifty four, I believe it was the other one.
I don't know you were born then, just a bit
of a knowledge those days. Oh that was great days
before everyone was wokena.

Speaker 2 (26:33):
That is a great stat for free Man. There the
new Collingwood they are the new Colinan won the credit
to them for their ability to work on their fitness
and turn that around as.

Speaker 1 (26:42):
A young inexperienced players doing the job as well. Absolutely,
I had so many players lifting this one. Those players
that Marcus talked about is first one is Murphy Reid.
Two goals, one from the boundary, which was absolutely awesome.
He just summed it up perfectly. Four end disposals, five
score of roveents. Now, lads, he has to be the
rising staff and me, I've talked him up the last
couple of months. Been a lot more consistent than i'd
say Levi, and definitely more consistent from the start of

(27:04):
the season than Dan Curtin. If you want to check
out a short as well on AFL today who Leo
did a video across there. I think he led towards
Murphy Reid as well as rising Star.

Speaker 2 (27:13):
I am I'm picking Murphy Reid, but I would not
hate it if any other player won the award, and
I would you would, well, I think people in the
comments should let us know who they would want to
win the award.

Speaker 1 (27:24):
That's a very very good call. But yeah, he was
absolutely awesome, just rising stuff for sure. The other one
is Patrick Foss. You got to talk about him, that
prancing pony. That chess was out. He kicked two clutch
goals in the fourth quarter and not even the arms
could stop him. I don't know if you saw this,
but he clearly took a mark. Ye juggled it a
few times, but clearly took the mark. The arm said no,
no mark. Then he just goes absolutely angry, showing the

(27:45):
ball to the armpires gone, mate, I clearly took the mark.
Could have been descent. And then and then he just
just says, all right, I find shakes his head off,
and then he gets down the other end that get
a goal. It gets the goal, and then shushes the port.
He said.

Speaker 2 (28:06):
One.

Speaker 1 (28:07):
But he was absolutely awesome. Does any player in the
AFI right now have more aura than that? Who has
more aura?

Speaker 3 (28:14):
Michael Voss doing the citizens arrest or Patrick Foss on
the field, Patrick.

Speaker 1 (28:18):
Michael Voss coaches Carton, so he loses.

Speaker 2 (28:20):
A yeah, I think Nick Watson, Nick Watson, you can't
be Patricks.

Speaker 1 (28:26):
Definitely Patrick.

Speaker 2 (28:27):
He's up there right now. Bond just exudes aura because
he's so is up there, he's high enough to go
on the riots.

Speaker 1 (28:35):
Well not Nick Watson, not Nick.

Speaker 2 (28:38):
For Port.

Speaker 1 (28:39):
On the Port side of things, I'm going to echo
a Kain here. He said the second quarter was their
best quarter of the year, and I absolutely agree. They
came back from four goals down in the first quarter
to kick eight goals in the second, which is which
is very exciting for Port fans. That was an absolutely
awesome quarter got Butters was strong in the midfield. It
was pretty much on his own and he was really good.
I think he almost had I think it was twenty
nine disposals the end there comes enough of that. And

(29:00):
also this was literally his best career game out there.
He was so good. Twenty two disposals, seventeen marks which
is unbelievable, and a goal the first goal he's had
in one hundred and twelve games, which is absolutely awesome
and good on him. A bit of a reward on
the other end of the ground there now, lads, I've
talked up Port there because they were actually awesome only
lost by a goalie. And does this continue to show

(29:21):
hope for Port's future because I've got big raps for
next season. I think they could make the finals next season.
Really okay, if they lose Butters.

Speaker 2 (29:29):
Do you think that.

Speaker 1 (29:30):
Ah? No, but I think he's going to stay.

Speaker 2 (29:32):
You think he's going to stay. So if they keep Butters.
I do like what they have in the midfield with
Bergman there, Rosie on it. I do like the four
line they're building some of the younger guys there. The
back line I think needs a bit of work, but overall,
I still think they're just lacking a bit of depth.
I think this sort of their bottom six can let
them down. I think Carr can come in. They have
a couple of good off seasons, maybe not next year,

(29:53):
but potentially the year after. I could see it. But
I don't think they're going to need to bottom out.
I still think they've got some talent there.

Speaker 1 (29:59):
No, I think they'll be a right for the next
couple of years, and especially new coach. It might be
a new coach bounce next season, so don't worry about that.

Speaker 2 (30:04):
Bounced for the whole season, for the whole season, and
Fred let us keep continuing into the purple haze is
still coming.

Speaker 1 (30:09):
Through the goal.

Speaker 2 (30:12):
Let's bloody go.

Speaker 1 (30:13):
We need to learn the words forget the worst that
the players. I don't think Padrick Boss would peck.

Speaker 2 (30:22):
He doesn't know where he is, but he's kicking goal
doesn't matter.

Speaker 1 (30:25):
Sunday, let's get into it at Monica Oval GWS taking
on North Melbourne GWS twenty goals thirteen, one hundred and
thirty three, North Melbourne twelve goals seven seventy nine, big
scoring game later.

Speaker 2 (30:36):
The Giants are always going to respond, I felt after
their pathetic performance last week, and unfortunately you had to
be North on the receiving end. They pretty much won
every statistical metric GWS. Look, there was a few in there,
but every main one went to the Giants and the
tsunami was in full force. You know, you've got Toby
Green hitting his twenty three disposal average that he normal

(31:00):
when you brought that up against North Melbourne. He also
slots three three goals, three inaccurate as I also touched
on ran with five cadman, four stringer, three cadman thirty
one and one. Yep, I'm getting them all confused. They're
just all that good. Too many to keep up with that.

(31:20):
I mean, that spread of goalkicking is just nuts and statsky.
North just had zero defensive answers for him.

Speaker 1 (31:26):
Yeah, look, you go seventy nine points without Curtis and Laki.
There wasn't much defense in this game, but I was like,
that's a that's a tick in my book. But the
defense was the worry every time that the Giants got
on the counter tap, the tsunami and things like that. Yeah,
Toby Pink was up on the wing and there'd just
be a player three in the fifty and then you
had Caleb Daniel for big chunks of the game on
Toby Green. That is a horrible matchup. Get Caleb Daniel

(31:47):
out of my side, and uh and north side out
of my side. I'm going to coach it instead of
Clark right now. And dur and Durma should not be
playing on cadmen at any stage. There was a few
times that they did it old switcheroo between log r
log that much either, but he's at least five centimeters taller.
Deursmo was on cadman for the big periods and the
runner or someone should be Clok. I should be run

(32:08):
down the field and just making changes because horrible, horrible.

Speaker 2 (32:10):
Desman was drafted as a mid size forward and I reckon.
Since he's got to the club, he's either played half forward,
wing or key back, none of which have been his
natural half back.

Speaker 1 (32:22):
But the play is a deep forward.

Speaker 2 (32:24):
That's that's where you can't he kicked for goal?

Speaker 1 (32:31):
You go, or where's the where's the hope for Lakie?
He's right, There's.

Speaker 3 (32:37):
What you're saying is you want him kicking out of
defense instead no half back.

Speaker 1 (32:40):
I think he could take him into that marks, but
he's not a good kick, so he's still got to
kick the ball. I meant for goal. He's not a
good kick for goal.

Speaker 2 (32:47):
I just reckon, you just not. You haven't played him
in the right position once.

Speaker 1 (32:50):
I agree.

Speaker 2 (32:51):
I agree anyway, nor if they did work back into
it are the good ones.

Speaker 1 (32:55):
She's on the kircher. They were the good ones.

Speaker 2 (32:57):
But I really was loving one of the deft kicks
and the nice touch kicks from Wardlaw inside fifty. I
think the first goal to Harvey was through a great
kick for Wardlaw, which to be honest, most other players
wouldn't have seen, so really nice from him. The SATs guy.
You want to highlight a North debutante who actually could
be the partner to Laki.

Speaker 1 (33:15):
I actually reckon he could. You got Cooper Trembath. He
was absolutely awesome. He was a shining light. To kick
three goals, had an awesome marker. His family was crying
in the crowd when he keeped. His grandmother kept zooming
in on his poor grammar. I felt bad for it,
but he was absolutely awesome and just a guy that
can take marks. I think his overall game, every part
of his game, is better than Finn bar Melee. So
I reckon we might not see fim bar Maley for
a bit if Cooper Trembus keep playing with this.

Speaker 2 (33:37):
So LARKI trembath Dursmol won out in the goal square.
That's winning near the flag next year in the VFL. Overall,
I don't think North have the depth or qualityly okay,
thank you. As GWA suggested classic, that's another elemant point,
I guess. And on GWS, they've got gold COEs next week.
It's a make or break game. Do we feel confident

(34:00):
in their ability to win that and solidified finals? Marcus,
you love them, You've said they're going to make the.

Speaker 3 (34:09):
Speaking about it, we said goldcros top to of course
they're gonna win, will win this game, Mark lucky week
they're still making the grill Forna.

Speaker 1 (34:17):
How can Cross be top two and g WS win
next week.

Speaker 3 (34:20):
Man, Yeah, that doesn't make that's good because we're going
to lose, going to lose, Collin, We're gonna lose.

Speaker 1 (34:26):
They're paving the way for the expansion clubs, can't you
see it. I don't think that's in the AFLs rigged,
that's a anyway. The Giants, I'm no, I don't think
there's any chance they're gonna win next week. But they
did have a really good win in camera there Sunday
at the MCJ. Let's get into that one. And Melbourne
taking on the Western Bulldogs. What a bloody game. This

(34:48):
was Melbourne fifteen goals nine and ninety nine the Western
Bulldogs fifteen goals fifteen hundred and five. Absolute shootout at
the MCG Game of the round. That's I think that
was a few good ones. But this is my game.

Speaker 2 (34:59):
I think Thursday it was pretty close Hawks non biased
gaming around BIS gaming around Friday night was all right, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (35:10):
He did big jazubike count. I was dealing with suspended
shut upright, Let's get into this one. This one felt
like a Finals like intensity, especially in the second half.
The first half only total for nine goals, the second
half total for twenty one goals just in the second
half alone, fast paced clean footy in this one, and
it was it was a bit of a new coach
bounce for the D's. Obviously they didn't get the win,

(35:30):
but they scored ninety nine points. They looked really good
under Troy Chaplin. Sadly let's he's one of the first
coaches on debut to go oh and two in the
one day. So he was coaching was possible? How is
that possible? I will tell you he was coaching his
son's under twelves team on the Sunday morning. Got a loss,
so that's not a good omen and into the g
after that, so comes into the g the D's were firing.
It's got another loss. So on too to that go

(35:51):
next to his name for his credentials in his co
professional coaching career. Negative, Oh, you're boring gone. It was
awesome over Tim English twenty three disposal was one golf
forty two hitouts, five clearances, four score of olvements. He
just continues to shine everywhere. Is he a sneaky to
jump onto the Australian beam just going to pick him
and Sydney fans are going to be fuming. Nah, Grundy
over Gone, but I think you can fit Gone on

(36:12):
the bench. I reckon you pick one Ruckman, no negative, negative,
you're the Rockman. There we go, you're under selling Ruckman,
You're over I reckon Jared Wits as well. By the way,
we hear that Dimmer, Yeah, Dimmer is watching. And another
one for the D's. I'm a huge fan of Jay
Kelly talked him out the other week. He's been a
really developed player for the D sixty and Disppos was

(36:32):
five clearances in a goal second game, second game for him.
He was good in his first game. I think he
had about the same stat line and he even went
in the mid for five clearances. I didn't think because
he was been playing forward, I don't think he had
that in him for the d So good on him
there and for the Dogs they obviously had an awesome
win in the end. He had Norton. He was absolutely incredible,
clanking everything with five goals. He's just been incredible formats.

Speaker 3 (36:51):
All Australian question mark. I'm just saying this because if
he finishes top three in the Coleman again for the
Western Bulldogs side as the best scoring team in the competition,
it's hard to argue against like he could.

Speaker 1 (37:06):
I still don't believe he was gonna get dropped twelve
weeks ago, wasn't he fifteen weeks ago? And then he's
just turned into this incredible place. His second half of
the season has almost been as good as Jeremy Cameron. Yeah,
I think it's out of Yeah, I don't know about
that one, but I think it's out of Ben King
and Aaron Norton. I'd picked both. So he picked three forwards,
three to forwards. You could you could if the others

(37:27):
kicked like seven less goals. I think I'll put Norton
in there if he passes King because he's only two
goals behind him, so that's possible. Yeah, but you could
just have all three, and I reckon, why not? It's
too many? I want. I like my smalls because I'm
kind of small. The other one in the clutch was
Sam Darcy. He is absolutely awesome. He stepped up, he
took a Nick Real esque mark. It was absolutely incredible.

(37:49):
I don't know how he did that. He kept his
eye on it the whole way, and that was when
these they had a sneaky chance and he took an
awesome Mark the Levers, Oh, the Leavers. It was absolutely awesome.
Put his body on the line. Thanks, that's good. Yeah,
good work out and he just he had such good
field kicking. He set up a couple of goals, the
one to Riley West, the check side that sealed the deal.
You had Ed Richard who was awesome two goals in
the last and the bond. He's one of the most

(38:10):
clutch man the or a man. As we said before,
ten disposals, three score involvements just in the last quarter alone.
So all the big names for the Dogs stepped up,
even their depths players did so. Absolutely awesome win for
the Dogs. And I just want to finish on this
on the Dogs. Are they dangerous in the finals? That
are they going to be hard to face? Or would
you want to play them? Because they shouldn't be this
close to the these I don't think, and they haven't

(38:30):
beaten a lot of the big teams. Could they be
a danger in the finals? What do you guys think?

Speaker 2 (38:34):
Now? This is a weird one because from where I'm standing,
I think they make finals. But I think out of
all the top nine teams and sorry, Dogs fans, I
don't think you deserve finals. You can't spend the whole
bloody year beaten up on the crap side and falling
short every time you play a good team except GWS.

Speaker 1 (38:49):
You just try.

Speaker 2 (38:50):
They are a good team, but you need to do more.
You need to do more than just against the GWS.

Speaker 1 (38:55):
I know, but they are this year's greend finals. The dogs.

Speaker 2 (39:00):
In saying that if they make finals, because they have
these weapons, you know you could they could come up
against Collingwood in a semi final.

Speaker 1 (39:08):
Back them Exam Darcy kicked seven goals.

Speaker 2 (39:10):
What is stopping that from happening? Yep, there is literally
and they win. You know, they are still a danger
because their best is good enough. That's what I'm saying
when I say they don't deserve finals going, Yeah, they
should be. They should be knocking off teams above nine
because they're good enough to They've got one of the
best lists in that category.

Speaker 1 (39:28):
And yeah, I think they still would be a danger.
I think they might lift for the finals, but they've
got to make it there first, so we'll have to
have to see what happens there. Last game other round
Sunday at Opta Stadium or West Coast Adelaide. What happened here,
this is unbelievable. West Coast twelve goals six seventy eight
really close against Adelaide at thirteen goals nine eighty seven.
Marcus the Crows, they got a little bit nervous there

(39:49):
they did.

Speaker 3 (39:50):
It was actually a really really fun game, but it
was they started off quite well.

Speaker 1 (39:53):
Jordan Dawson set the tone.

Speaker 3 (39:55):
He had five disposals, four tackles and a goal on
that first quarter as the Crows went four goals up.

Speaker 1 (40:00):
But a lot of this game, in all honesty.

Speaker 3 (40:02):
It's about the Eagles, and I'm going to give them
their applaud I respect that because the Eagles end up
hit hitting the front in the second quarter despite being
four goals down at quarter time, and then they actually
led the game at halftime to a big standing ovation
from the Perth faithful, and they actually held Adelaide goalless
in the second quarter, which is.

Speaker 1 (40:23):
First geez. They did it. They did a pretty good job.
And it was Brady Hoff as well, who.

Speaker 3 (40:27):
Was electric, particularly in that second quarter off half back
and was providing a lot of running carry especially he's taken.

Speaker 1 (40:34):
The game on in the middle of the ground as well.
So really really good.

Speaker 3 (40:37):
Positive signs for more Eagles youngsters there, and we actually
saw Roley Thilthorpe down a full back at some stage,
just taking a couple into set marks spoils. I think
he was just throwing the magnets around Matthew Nicks.

Speaker 1 (40:51):
He's an opposing figure, maybe just to scare them a
little bit.

Speaker 2 (40:53):
He was.

Speaker 1 (40:54):
They were a little bit worried about.

Speaker 3 (40:55):
We were orrried about the Laie tools and the forward
line against the sort of short Eagles defense. But it
was actually at halftime the marks inside fifty were in
favor of the Eagles seven to two. So that just
shows how good they were playing in the tactics that
mcqulter brought to the Eagles in this one. And now
to the second half beforeward, pressure was.

Speaker 1 (41:17):
More of the same. In the first half, they started
off well.

Speaker 3 (41:19):
The Eagles, which provided goals and including one it was
Hamish Davis's snap Would you love stats go on in
the office.

Speaker 1 (41:26):
We were watching it in the officers love and they
just curled back nicey first career goal and you've get
a little snapped snap dribbler first goal.

Speaker 3 (41:32):
Happy and Joe Shanahan as well as continuing to show
sign three or four goals for the game. But as
soon as Isaac Rankin went back into the midfield into
the second half, it just swung the momentum because the
Crows they regained the lead. And in that second half
Isaac Crankin had twenty goal, twenty disposals, twenty goals, had

(41:53):
twenty disposals and a goal after having just three disposals
in the first half. So talk about being an easy
super romena for the Crows. It just shows how important
he is. And also this me and Philthorpe in the
final quarter came up clutch with a couple of late
goals despite a little injury skin.

Speaker 1 (42:11):
I think Crows fans would have their hearts in their
mouths because he's like they've had a few different injuries
over the year and they've just put other players in there.
But you take Thriller out of that side and that's
a big loss. And he looked okay though, because he
kicked those guys in the end. He certainly did.

Speaker 3 (42:24):
Yeah, the shoulder of the neck was in a bit
of trouble there, but he does come up clutch as
Adelaide's best forward.

Speaker 1 (42:29):
Yeah, and we've got a lot of Crows fans always
in the comments. They absolutely love it, so we're happy
that they won. But did we overestimate the Crows like
our Crows fans said in the comments they said, oh,
when it comes finals time, we might crumble or don't
say where flag favorites just yet because we always do
this and things like that. Did we overestimate the Crows?
I think this was just a blip. What do you
guys think? I just think we'd give some credit to Wescers.

(42:50):
They played out of their skin.

Speaker 2 (42:51):
Yep. I think yeah, a lot's going to be told
from Adelaide Collingwood next week for both sides. Adelaide win
that there's no worries at all. But I think it's
maybe we just wanted to watch because I think Adelaide
they've got the frio gene, the clutch gene in them.
They do something about these sides. They've got the clutches
causing through their veins. What is crumb, Crumb is clutch,
Crumb is clutch. That is shirt.

Speaker 1 (43:14):
There we go, that's all the games of round twenty
two done and dust there. Let's get into the ladder
check ladds. Of course we've got to talk about the
Adelaide crome a game clear and first, so lucky they
got the win there so they can hold onto the
top spot. The Cats they're into second on the ladder.
They're just they're firing and don't inquire. We poohing. There
we go, as Marcus does on a night. Now Freo
into the top four as well. They're absolutely flying one

(43:36):
ten of their last eleven the lines. They're out of
the top four. Can they jump back in? What do
we think? I think, well, I think they'll beat free
So yeah, okay, I'll back them in. We back them in.
That's going to be an interesting for the previous show
where we go head to head. There we go, they're
going to fight and then we're going to talk about
the game. Yeah. I love that two games separate second
to night. So this is just an absolutely awesome see.

(43:57):
A lot of people are saying, oh, it is not
the most fun season because of these results. I think
it's great with second to ninth, just two games separating.
How goods are? Well, it's great in.

Speaker 2 (44:06):
That aspect, but I would like to see the bottom
nine teams like Lift Lift, Well, I'd rather see a
seventh to twelfth battle than a second and ninth.

Speaker 1 (44:14):
I would rather see a second to night. That's actually
a great question. Maybe that's our yeah, our question of
the week. So you check in people in the comments
also let us know what you'd rather. Yes, I like that.
All right, that's the ladder check. Let's get into tipping results.
I'll tell it again, lad it's eight tips. What do
you what do you jumps doing? Just a cheek you seven? Yeah,
cheek you seven? As I said last week, eight's cool,
so good job. Oh thank you?

Speaker 2 (44:33):
So fine? Nine is nick?

Speaker 1 (44:35):
Yeah, it's like cool but seven seven, so hands up?
Seven minutes in heaven. There we go, what do you
guys talking about? And then we'll get back to the show.
Know where you guys are anyway, lock results, we've all
got a tick on the lock. What was your lock?
Leer Cat's win tick Yeah, bus win tick Catman two
plus absolute tick. There we go with clear the locks there,

(44:57):
and then we go to the negative, the negative all
the big calls. We didn't get a big call Leo,
big call, brace Shaw thirty and one, he got twenty
three and zip.

Speaker 3 (45:07):
Yeah he didn't do as well this week and yeah,
well I love We talked about Guineas planning against his
own card. I was twenty five and two. He finished
with twenty six disposals and didn't kick.

Speaker 1 (45:16):
Charles stole a goal from him. It still wouldn't have
got the big call, but that's okay, Jezu outscoring accident
was my one.

Speaker 2 (45:23):
Just put it through the big sticks, jess Are.

Speaker 1 (45:24):
He could have kicked kicked straight that he didn't.

Speaker 3 (45:27):
Do it though I thought kick ten goalsty kid gyekick
goals guy, just not using using We've had a lot
of show.

Speaker 1 (45:36):
We had a big show. We have a lot of show.
It's been a lot of show. Don't worry about it.
Our best on Ground of the week. This is Leo's
one hoove he got for best on.

Speaker 2 (45:44):
Ground alright, straight into it. One vote to m Monday,
Meek Monday tomorrow. It sounds today because it's coming out today. True,
Happy Meek Monday to all of my fallow Hawthornians. Three goals,
thirty two, hit out seven marks and just beat Darcy Cameron, who.

Speaker 1 (46:02):
Is I think very good? He was a lord? Is
he become a king? Now?

Speaker 2 (46:07):
I keep him lord?

Speaker 1 (46:08):
Okay because he's a.

Speaker 2 (46:09):
Lloyd say two votes b king, six goals awesome, specky.
But the fact that he just did it on Weidering
as well, one of the premier defenders of the competition,
and the kick six goals straight to Now, I know
Norton's a bit stiff spoiler or that, because I think
Norton did half of it on a first game, fair enough.

(46:29):
So that's my raising there. The three votes I he
needs got to be him. Twenty three disposals of five
goals and an awesome specy landed like an absolute cat.

Speaker 1 (46:39):
I'm going to start calling him Snapper from Port Philip Snapper.

Speaker 2 (46:42):
I like that.

Speaker 3 (46:42):
I'm just thinking, since you started doing the best on
ground votes, I think Isaac Heeney could be leading it.

Speaker 1 (46:48):
No, No, he's actually got a few one or two. Yeah,
we look into that. I will make Actually I was
going to do that the other weaks. I'm going to
make a leaderboard and we'll see who's up the ste
That guy's paying a dollar one not to do that.
Do that completely. The fact that you said it, now
I'll be weren't really watching the show and remind me.

Speaker 3 (47:06):
So there we go.

Speaker 1 (47:07):
That's enough. I'm doing a lead aboard for votes. Yes,
best team of around. The most controversial segment on AFL today.

Speaker 2 (47:13):
Here we go.

Speaker 1 (47:13):
Okay, let's go. I'm so nervous because there was some
weird results. There were some weird results in this one.

Speaker 2 (47:18):
Have West Coast got them?

Speaker 1 (47:19):
And oh maybe actually and for.

Speaker 3 (47:23):
The second time this season, a team that doesn't win
a game is getting a vote, and one vote goes
to the West Coast Eagles read like a they're featuring
it for the first time this season since since I've
done this voting system.

Speaker 1 (47:38):
The Eagles are in there. Get them in actually write that.
And then for two votes, I'm going to go.

Speaker 2 (47:44):
With who were the Demons in there?

Speaker 1 (47:47):
You just put three? And then Richmond three two rich three?
Who's the two votes? Two votes?

Speaker 3 (47:51):
I'm going to go the Sydney Swans causing an upset
going up to the gab big win, two point win.
The only reason I probably didn't put them as the
three votes was because the team you did get the
three votes, which is my man team next to me,
my Man's team next to me, he's my Man's my
Man's Hawthorns.

Speaker 1 (48:13):
Get three votes. Man, it's my meek team. Big.

Speaker 2 (48:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (48:20):
They had to get the job done. They had to
win that game, and they did it very convincingly.

Speaker 2 (48:24):
The one passenger I feel like not like one.

Speaker 3 (48:27):
It wasn't really one bad player in front of in
front of seventy thousand. They need to win, they need
to win big, and they did so they kept their
season a loft. No, I've actually right that I was
worried that Sydney went up the top. There he goes
crackers as much as the Yeah put adelaide.

Speaker 1 (48:46):
